- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Duval Daily, presented by Jinjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here Saturday, September 13th.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Big time college football Saturday.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Big time game for your Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow in Cincinnati.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: Jags versus Bengals Battle of the Big Cats.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: I've got bold predictions for this one.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to get into these, than thinking about this game a lot, obviously.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: Really, since, you know, well before the season started.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you look at those first two games on the schedule and you start thinking about how things can go.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: I expected the Jacks to beat the Panthers in the, you know, months leaving up to the season.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Bengals was much more of a coin flip in my mind, much more of a difficult call, and we're going to get into that.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: So getting into these bold predictions, I'm going to kind of offer some predictions and talk about why I think some of these things throughout the show here.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: excited to do it.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor and Brian Thomas Jr.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: getting back on track.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's paramount for the Jaguars.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: Both in this week and long term, they've got to get it going because Brian Thomas Jr.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: has the ability.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: The resume that suggests he should be a top flight wide receiver one.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: need to get that chemistry going.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: Most days when throughout training camp when Brian Thomas Jr.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: and Trevor Lawrence did not have a great practice together, they usually got back on track the next day.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: They usually bounce back in a big way.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's going to be a key for the jag wars in this one is being able to get that connection going because if Brian Thomas Jr.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: is stretching the field and making plays all over the field, that makes it that much easier for you and your offense and it makes it that much more difficult for the Bengals defense, right?
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's got to happen and I think it will.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Both of those guys are too good for it not to happen and it wasn't all on Trevor last week.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't all on Brian last week.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: I placed the blame slightly more on Trevor, but Brian had a couple of miscues as well.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Dropped a screen pass.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: There was another one outrout deep out.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: He should have caught.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: He should have brought it in, but Trevor missed him a couple times for sure as well.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: So those guys need to get it together.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think they will.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Also, I think they'll be able to utilize, you know, Britain's strange in the passing game, the way they have and the running game.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, Travis Hunter will be out there plenty still on the offensive side of the ball in my opinion, even if he does play a little bit more defense this week.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he'll be that kind of chain mover slot, you know, option route type of guy that he was last week.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he'll, he should be able to get more than 33 yards on eight targets.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: Even though he only had 33 yards, I think he was still effective last week overall.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he'll be able to be effective this week too.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: Jags rushing the ball, I don't think it's going to be as good as last week.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Bengals have a little bit better run defense than what they faced last week.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, last week you had two, two, three, four, four, four, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six, six,
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: Too really young guys on the edge.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Derek Brown coming back from injury, some new pieces in place.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: The Bengals, I don't think that they're going to be great on the edge defending the run.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Demetrius Knight, the rookie, is really kind of a question mark in this game for me how well he can hold up against a confusing and complex Liam Cohen offense.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I still think the interior of that bingles defense of line is pretty stout.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think it's going to be as good as it was last week.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're just also not going to break off a 71-yard run every single game and all likelihood, right?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I still think it'll be strong.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: I still think it'll be something the Jaguars can lean on a lot in this game.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen can deploy such a diverse run game.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to have tank bakes, obviously, but I think you'll see a little bit more
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: And this Jaguar's offense of line, it's physical now.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: This is a fast offense.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the bingles have the guys right now or the coach to keep up with Liam and the skill position guys.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I do have Travis CTN with another 100 yard game, total yards in this one.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have over 100.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll be able to get, it's not like he wasn't involved in the passing game at all.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: But I think they're going to be able to get him a ball and space a little bit in this game and let him eat maybe against a meteorous night, maybe against these linebackers as a receiver at times.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence, I predicted he was going to get the hatrick with touchdowns last week, did not get that.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: uh... the jackwars offence penalties uh... stalled out a couple drives and made them stop short of of scoring but i do have a lot of doing it this week i think he's gonna need to score think the jackwars offence is gonna need to score in this football game i think they can i think they will uh... i think that as i mentioned Trevor and Brian Thomas junior get it back going
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think Brian Thomas Jr.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: gets touched down from Trevor.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think Britain's strange gets in the end zone.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Last week, it was hunter along that tight end.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think Britain's strange scores this week.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: He was very heavily utilized in the first drive for the Jaguar's offense as a receiver.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't hit him much after that.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they need to get him involved throughout the game more frequently in this one.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I think they will.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I have Britain's strange scoring in the red zone.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've Brian Thomas Jr.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: scoring and I've Trevor running one in.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: Why do I have him running one in?
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: He scored a lot of rushing touchdowns around his career, so he kind of do for one, but the Bengals based on what we saw last week, they were a very man-heavy defense.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Man coverage, if you've got guys running down field, it sometimes will allow for wide open rushing lanes for the quarterback based on the numbers.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: And so if that situation pops up, I don't think Trevor's gonna hesitate to run it in from five yards out, 10 yards out, whatever it is.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: This is a pretty vanilla defense overall.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't super impressed.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Quite honestly, you know, try Hendrix in as a problem.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Some are steward could be a problem eventually.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think Logan Wilson is a good player.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: I've always liked DJ Turner, Dax Hill, Jordan Battle, but I don't think that these are the types of defenders that match up super well with the Jack Wars right now and with Liam Cohen's offense.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars have a lot more talent on offense than the Bengals do on defense, and I think that the Bengals also don't have the coaching defensively to match up with what Liam Cohen and company are bringing on the offensive side of the ball.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: Again, we've only seen one game of this album since the 90 Bengals defense.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: It was very man-heavy.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't super creative, but Liam Cohen has been grinded.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: They've been grinding the tape, going back to his time at Notre Dame, they've been meeting with Jack Kaiser a good bit to talk about that Notre Dame defense, so I think that they're going to be mentally prepared for this game.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to be physically prepared for this game.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Bengals, they're used to a tough,
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: physical brand of football and the FC North had to play that way last week against the Browns and look at the Browns.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't put up a lot of points last week, but they moved the ball.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Joe Flecko moved the ball on this defense and I don't think that they have the talent the Browns.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Certainly that compares to the Jaguars offensively.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, I think that the Jaguars just have so much more skill, I think they have a better offensive line than the Browns, and I think that they have a much better quarterback in a much better play caller.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I think that the Jaguars are going to test this Bingo's defense a lot more than the Browns did, and even in saying that I acknowledge that the Browns did move the ball.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't finish a lot, Joe Flecker threw a couple of interceptions, but I think that the jacks can really put a hurting on the bingles defense.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now the Jaguar's defense, it's not gonna be nearly as easy going up against Joe Burrow and company as it was last where you against Bryce Young and the Panthers, but I do think Anthony Campingley and his guys have a better shot at slowing down the bingles just a little bit, then the bingles defense does that slowing down the Jaguars.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony Campany like up to really funky last week, I mean lots of confusing looks, don't know where pressure is coming from, sometimes you're not bringing pressure at all.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of three safety looks as well, like Darnell Savage on the field with Doe Wingard with Eric Murray.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's going to be as aggressive this week because Joe Burrow is just really good at picking apart defenses and knowing where the hot read is and taking advantage of aggressive blitzes, but I do think he's still going to try to be very confusing.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: with less blitzing, less pressure, less, you know, five, six.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Man, man rushes and more, just sem pressures.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: If I had to guess, and it will be interesting to see if they have those three safety looks out there a lot because if you have three safety's on the field instead of two linebackers, that gives you more speed, that gives you more athleticism, more coverage jobs and really more versatility.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: So if they can do that and still stop the run,
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to and that can cause some problems.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: You saw the Jaguar as guys breaking on the ball like crazy last week and it wasn't really even
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Um, like overly aggressive on the back end defensively pursuing the football in coverage.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: It was they were making the plays that were there to be made and they were being aggressive attack in the football in the air.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: You had to do a winger to have a pick six called back.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they should have had four turnovers defensively last week.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Burrow and the Bengals are not, again, the Carolina Panthers, but still think the Jaguar as defense can be more effective than the Bengals defense in this one.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Bingo's offense is much more talented right now or experienced than the Jack Wars, Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase's best second best receiver in the league, T-Higgins, best number two in the league.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack's offense has the potential to be there, Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Trevor Lawrence, but I think that right now, just taking the guys on paper the top three, Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, T-Higgins,
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jack's offense is talented, and they are much better coached in my opinion than the Bingo's offense, offense.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: To me, Joe Burrow is like the pseudo coach of that team, offensively, and he's really good at it.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that having Liam Cohen to lean on for Trevor Lawrence is invaluable.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Liam Cohen's going to do a really good job in this one against this Bingo's defense.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, you know, I think Campanulate does just enough to keep burrow a little on edge.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think Josh Heinz Allen and the guys up front get to push the pocket a lot.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go with a DeWan smooth sack again because I think that with those games, they can run up front.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to have an advantage at some point again, stay Dylan Fairchild or a Orlando Brown on a game up front.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think that Josh Hind down will get a sack as well and this one, they're gonna ramp up the sack number as a little bit, and I'm not gonna go crazy, but they're gonna have good pressure again this week.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar is gonna be able to jump on them, but the Bengals will fight back.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: 30 to 23 final score for me.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: And that final score is a little closer than the actual game, I think.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: a late score by the bingles gets it a little closer, you know, Joe Burrow, T.A.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: again, Jamar Chase, they're scary, but I still think the bingles defense is pretty, pretty bad.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the jacks take advantage of that.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think the jacks limit their offensive penalties a little bit.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: Their mistakes, you know, drops, misthrows on forced errors with penalties.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the jacks are just a better overall team personnel wise.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: When you factor in the defense and the offense,
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: and then coaching wise, I think that they're much stronger, I think that they're better vibes right now.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: I also think they just have less weaknesses.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: The bingles have some clear weaknesses.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're offensive line can be problematic right now.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: You have two guys on the left side that I think the Jaguars can take advantage of.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: You have Dalton Rizzner in there at right guard who I don't think is like a problem problem, but he didn't.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he wasn't a starter going into the season for them.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: They have an injury there.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: has been struggling for a long time.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: and that can help Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas, Jr.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: get it going as well.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: They've got two rookies starting playing a lot of snaps, defensively, think Lee and Cohen can take advantage of that as well.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I've got the jacks, 30 to 23.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're the better coach team.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're the better overall team right now and more complete on both sides of the ball.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Very excited for this one.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: And if you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
