- 0:05Speaker 1: Alright, alright, alive from Philly. It's the Folly and Donty Foolsco. Show.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Yo always Polly Fools go here with Tony Foolsco. And Don'ty.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Today it's a special presentation of the Polly and Tony
- 0:23Speaker 1: Foolsco Show because we're about to reveal top ten all
- 0:29Speaker 1: time playoff performers. Now, other shows in the hosts right
- 0:33Speaker 1: now with you know, waste time bantering about whatever metrics
- 0:37Speaker 1: they used to create their stupid list. We're not gonna
- 0:40Speaker 1: waste time with that bullshit, are we, Tony. No, you
- 0:43Speaker 1: can trust that this is all based on scientific data
- 0:48Speaker 1: and analytical analysis. So just sit back, enjoy, and also
- 0:54Speaker 1: learn exactly. So here we go. Let's get into it
- 0:58Speaker 1: without further a dude, our list of all time playoff
- 1:03Speaker 1: performers starting at number ten to kid alright, kicking off
- 1:11Speaker 1: all less at number ten. Obviously, I gotta go with
- 1:17Speaker 1: Michael Jordan's obvious. You know, Michael Jordan's Yeah, he was
- 1:21Speaker 1: good and all, but whatever he played in an era
- 1:23Speaker 1: when you know we had to win the best of
- 1:26Speaker 1: five in the first round. You know, yead it easy.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So because of that, you know, we gotta hold it
- 1:31Speaker 1: against him in the metrics, right Tony, Yeah, Michael Jordan's
- 1:36Speaker 1: had the three day work week, and if you look
- 1:39Speaker 1: at the NBA as a business, which it is, you'd
- 1:43Speaker 1: have to consider him a part time employee, and therefore
- 1:48Speaker 1: it isn't fair to the other full time employees. Absolutely
- 1:53Speaker 1: great point, don'ty? And well said, let's move on to
- 1:56Speaker 1: our number nine all time playoff performer, Number nine, Tim
- 2:03Speaker 1: Duncan you know Sean? Alright? He won five rings, will
- 2:06Speaker 1: give him that. But the category here is playoff performers,
- 2:10Speaker 1: and you know that means we have to count the
- 2:12Speaker 1: most important metric that measures quality of performance, and that
- 2:18Speaker 1: of course is TV ratings, and that TV ratings for
- 2:22Speaker 1: the Spurs were unbelievably low, bottom of the barrel, right, don'ty?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Of course, the Spurs had the lowest TV ratings of
- 2:31Speaker 1: any NBA champion. Do you know that in two thousand
- 2:35Speaker 1: and three when they faced the Nets in the finals
- 2:39Speaker 1: for the second time, that last game got beat by
- 2:43Speaker 1: a rerun of REBA. Not good, just terrible. That's says
- 2:49Speaker 1: it all, doesn't it, Tony? Yep? Sure does alright? Number
- 2:53Speaker 1: eight all time playoff performers. Of course, you gotta go
- 2:59Speaker 1: with Lamel low ball. And you know, you may say, oh, well,
- 3:02Speaker 1: LaMelo Ball, he's never won a playoff game. But as
- 3:05Speaker 1: we've explained numerous times on this show, when you're doing
- 3:09Speaker 1: all Time list, you have to consider the past, but
- 3:14Speaker 1: you also have to consider the future. Absolutely. You know,
- 3:21Speaker 1: all time means all of time, so that means we
- 3:25Speaker 1: have to take into account what LaMelo has done, but
- 3:29Speaker 1: also what he is going to do and when you
- 3:33Speaker 1: project based on his current performance, he's already won eight
- 3:38Speaker 1: championships in the late twenties into the twenty thirties as well. Wow,
- 3:45Speaker 1: unreal stats there from LaMelo Ball. Total domination for decades,
- 3:50Speaker 1: All right, now, an easy choice here, Tony, Sean Kemp,
- 3:56Speaker 1: no brain. Yeah, he never won a title, but that's
- 3:58Speaker 1: because he lost the mic with Jordan's who was well
- 4:01Speaker 1: rested after that three game bullshit first round. But you know,
- 4:06Speaker 1: you have to look at the most important area of
- 4:09Speaker 1: the game, which was his performance in NBA JAM. Isn't
- 4:13Speaker 1: that right? Don't of course you're right again, Pauli. People
- 4:18Speaker 1: say you shouldn't count NBA JAM, but of course you should.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It was based on real life NBA stats like dunk power.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Sean Kemp not only had a lot of dunk power,
- 4:31Speaker 1: but if you took a shot with him from the
- 4:33Speaker 1: opposite side of the court with no time left, it
- 4:36Speaker 1: would almost always go in. And it didn't matter whether
- 4:41Speaker 1: he was on fire or not. So true, great points
- 4:46Speaker 1: all around, don'ty, And let's get to number six all
- 4:50Speaker 1: time playoff performers. Number six a legend, Dwight Howard. People
- 4:57Speaker 1: say lebron in a d win the championship with the Lakers. No, please,
- 5:04Speaker 1: they went together a season before that. They didn't win
- 5:07Speaker 1: the White Howard comes along, comes to town in the championship.
- 5:13Speaker 1: You don't even need to explain anymore that, do your
- 5:15Speaker 1: Tony Nope? End of story. Move on, all right? That
- 5:20Speaker 1: will take us to number five. Another big man, even
- 5:23Speaker 1: bigger man number five. Of course, we're talking about Luke Longley.
- 5:29Speaker 1: You know, when you look at those nineties balls, people,
- 5:32Speaker 1: if you want to find the most impactful player, all
- 5:35Speaker 1: you gotta do is ask yourself one question, who's the tallest? Right?
- 5:40Speaker 1: Tony absolutely seven to Luke Longly. Winning the tip off,
- 5:47Speaker 1: winning those jump balls the deciding factor. You know, you
- 5:52Speaker 1: can't score baskets if you don't have possession of the
- 5:55Speaker 1: ball and how do you do that? Tip balls, jump
- 5:59Speaker 1: for balls? Perfect analysis that Doty. And you know this
- 6:04Speaker 1: is also why I have zero respect for the Warriors.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You know, Puny, who wants to watch those games? You know,
- 6:12Speaker 1: they're so tiny. The other night, you know, I had
- 6:14Speaker 1: to sit close to my TV just to be able
- 6:16Speaker 1: to see what was going on. I wanted to pull
- 6:18Speaker 1: out a magnifying glass. I couldn't see who was who.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They're so dyny, It's terrible. You know, the founding fathers
- 6:25Speaker 1: of basketball based the game on one important principle that
- 6:29Speaker 1: tall people are better than short people. In fact, it
- 6:34Speaker 1: shouldn't be called basket ball. It should be called basket
- 6:39Speaker 1: tall because it's for tall people. You know, when you
- 6:43Speaker 1: put it that white, Tony, it makes a ton of sense.
- 6:45Speaker 1: And you know, I don't want to divert from our
- 6:48Speaker 1: list here, but you know I gotta say. You know,
- 6:49Speaker 1: we were at six Flags the other day and you know,
- 6:52Speaker 1: remember we were about the board that coasta and we
- 6:56Speaker 1: saw that sign must be this tall to board. And
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know what I've been thinking about since then, Tony,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I've been thinking that they should have a sign like
- 7:05Speaker 1: that in the NBA. Must be sixty or taller to enter.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Wouldn't that be great? Yeah? Good idea, that would solve everything.
- 7:16Speaker 1: See you go, you get solutions on this show. That's
- 7:19Speaker 1: what we do. That's what we do. All right, let's
- 7:21Speaker 1: get it to number four on our list. The legend himself,
- 7:26Speaker 1: Alan Ivanson. Now you may be thinking, you know, wait,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I thought Allan iverson small you don't like small people. Yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 1: but you know, Alan Ivanson had the cojones to drive
- 7:39Speaker 1: to the hoop. He wasn't scared. Meanwhile, Steph Curry, he's
- 7:42Speaker 1: he's fifty feet from the hope because he's so scared.
- 7:44Speaker 1: That's why he learned to shoot from so far away
- 7:47Speaker 1: so he wouldn't get to the basket and get stopped
- 7:50Speaker 1: like a mosquito or like that guy Newman from Jurassic Park. Exactly.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You know, an Ai he did it all right. You
- 7:58Speaker 1: know when when people remember the Tooth was in one
- 8:00Speaker 1: NBA Finals, they barely even remember who won. All they
- 8:04Speaker 1: remember is Game one, that forty point performance. Because the
- 8:08Speaker 1: series that that's set the tone, right, Tony, he that
- 8:12Speaker 1: was the tone set up. And while that other team,
- 8:16Speaker 1: I think it was the lake Is may have won
- 8:18Speaker 1: the series, the tone had already been set, and once
- 8:22Speaker 1: that tone is set, you can't change it. Absolutely not
- 8:29Speaker 1: terrific analysis by you, as all, Tony, and that leads
- 8:33Speaker 1: to number three on our list. Number three, No surprises here,
- 8:40Speaker 1: Brooke Lopez. You know when you took talk about the
- 8:44Speaker 1: heroes of that Milwaukee Bucks championship team, you have to
- 8:48Speaker 1: talk about the heart and soul of that team. Brooke Lopez.
- 8:53Speaker 1: You know, as we all know, in basketball, it's not
- 8:56Speaker 1: what you do in the playoffs. It's what you don't
- 9:01Speaker 1: do in the playoffs. Isn't that right? Don't it? Absolutely?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Brook Lopez came to the Bucks and said, I'm not
- 9:10Speaker 1: gonna shoot or play as much so I can help
- 9:13Speaker 1: you win a championship. In fact, the less sim on
- 9:18Speaker 1: the court, the better, And that is the move of
- 9:22Speaker 1: a true champion. So beautifully said Tony, and so beautifully
- 9:29Speaker 1: done by Mr brook Lopez, which leads to number two
- 9:32Speaker 1: on our lesson Number two, of course, Mr Joel em Beid,
- 9:39Speaker 1: it's the game winning three to beat the Raptors, the
- 9:41Speaker 1: definition of clutch, which basically sealed the title right there.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You could see it. In fact, according to the advanced
- 9:48Speaker 1: statistical model that Tony made on his computer. The six
- 9:52Speaker 1: is right. Now are a nine nine point eight percent
- 9:57Speaker 1: lock to win the title. Now, of course we did
- 10:00Speaker 1: have to factor in the news about Joel and beats ah,
- 10:04Speaker 1: you know, thumb injury there, so that unfortunately lowered it
- 10:08Speaker 1: to point seven nine. Yeah, but talking about titles, he
- 10:14Speaker 1: already won the scoring title, and that is a title, right,
- 10:19Speaker 1: don't he. Absolutely, basketball is measured by how many points
- 10:24Speaker 1: you put in the basket. That's why it's called basket ball.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And there you go. Yeah, you know, if the Sixers
- 10:31Speaker 1: win that NBA title quote unquote, you know that would
- 10:35Speaker 1: be great at all. But you know, the scoring title
- 10:37Speaker 1: is more impressive than an NBA title, you know, absolutely,
- 10:42Speaker 1: that's the true measure of greatness. You know, when people
- 10:46Speaker 1: ever mentioned how many titles someone's won, I always assumed
- 10:50Speaker 1: they're talking scoring titles. Naturally you've got though, of course. Yeah.
- 10:55Speaker 1: You know the other day some shamoul said to me,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you know, Allen Iverson never on any titles, And I said,
- 11:01Speaker 1: what do you mean he won two scoring titles? Asshole? Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I meanwhile, you know who only has one scoring title?
- 11:09Speaker 1: Lebron James but says it all, doesn't it? Right? In
- 11:14Speaker 1: the ball descributing you know, like a socialist anyway, you know,
- 11:18Speaker 1: and Beat, let's just let's just put a button on this,
- 11:21Speaker 1: Gony and Deeds already won a scoring title. That's gotta count.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Is about to win an NBA title. If you win
- 11:29Speaker 1: two NBA titles, which that is in the same season,
- 11:33Speaker 1: you've gotta be You've got to beat the top of
- 11:36Speaker 1: this list, right, Tony. Yeah, we do know. Michael Jordan
- 11:39Speaker 1: did it too, but again that was with the five
- 11:43Speaker 1: game first round, so you have to deduct points for
- 11:47Speaker 1: that and give the edge to Joel m Beat. You
- 11:51Speaker 1: absolutely have to. And uh, here we go, Tony. We've
- 11:56Speaker 1: made it all the way to the top of our list.
- 11:59Speaker 1: So we're gonna reveal our number one all time drug
- 12:05Speaker 1: roll please, here we go, the number one all time
- 12:09Speaker 1: playoff performer. Well again, sorry, but no surprises here. Dr J. Julius,
- 12:18Speaker 1: no brain and uh or just make this quick, people,
- 12:23Speaker 1: Michael Jordan's Lebron James, you know Brook Lopez. Yet they
- 12:29Speaker 1: only one in the NBA, that's right, That's that's nothing.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Dr J has won in the NBA and the A
- 12:38Speaker 1: b A, making him the only person to win titles
- 12:42Speaker 1: in both leagues. Conversation over nothing else to add. I
- 12:49Speaker 1: don't even know what you say there. It's just it's
- 12:52Speaker 1: too great of an achievement. And that's why he is
- 12:55Speaker 1: the number one player of all time playoffs and no
- 12:59Speaker 1: playoffs when you're they could be up. And there's our list.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Great work, Tony, by the way to a top ten
- 13:05Speaker 1: all time playoff performance list was brought to you by
- 13:08Speaker 1: Joe's a Bank Suits. Hey, are you looking for the
- 13:11Speaker 1: finest in men's suits? Well, why the funk are you
- 13:15Speaker 1: wasting your money doing that? Go down to Joe's right now.
- 13:18Speaker 1: They'll give you ten suits for thirty nine dollars. Yeah.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I bought a new suit there straight off the rack
- 13:26Speaker 1: for three fifty the other day. And well, I don't
- 13:29Speaker 1: want to go into detail about my personal life because
- 13:33Speaker 1: that would be unprofessional, but let's just say I'm very
- 13:37Speaker 1: happy with the results, and the ladies of South Philly
- 13:41Speaker 1: are even happier. Thank you, Joey. Yep, all right, there
- 13:46Speaker 1: you have it, a special presentation of the Paulli and
- 13:50Speaker 1: Tony Fusco Show, and we're gonna wrap it right there
- 13:53Speaker 1: and all Producer Jay producer j. If it didn't like
- 13:58Speaker 1: that Tony billion person on the list of playoff performance.
- 14:03Speaker 1: What number one, Dr J isn't the only player to
- 14:08Speaker 1: win a, b A and NBA titles. Yeah, no, there
- 14:12Speaker 1: were others like Rick Barry, just to name one. Oh yeah, well,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna rick Barry you in my backyard. Yeah, I'm
- 14:25Speaker 1: gonna rick your head off and feed it to my
- 14:28Speaker 1: dog's that's no more with done. Number two. What you
- 14:33Speaker 1: said players should be at least sixty inches tall to
- 14:37Speaker 1: play in the NBA. Definitely, all right, Well Steph Curry,
- 14:40Speaker 1: he's six ft three, He's seventy five inches tall. All
- 14:45Speaker 1: NBA players are taller than sixty inches. Oh yeah, well
- 14:51Speaker 1: you're gonna be sixty inches deep in my backyard. Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: and my dog isn't even gonna bother to dig you up.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Now that's enough, out of enough, no more. Last one,
- 15:04Speaker 1: what you know? You also mispronounced the name of the sponsor. No,
- 15:10Speaker 1: it's not Joe's a bank. The Joes is short for Joseph.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's Joseph a bank. Oh yeah, well, you're short on
- 15:23Speaker 1: the time you have left to live. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 15:27Speaker 1: take you to a bank, a river bank and drown you.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Now that's it. Yeah, By the way, I got great
- 15:34Speaker 1: news for you, Ja. We used our connections, got you
