- 0:00Speaker 1: Here's more Mark Simone on 710WOR.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, hey, we got a lot to get to this hour.
- 0:07Speaker 2: So there were a couple of incidents with President Trump.
- 0:10Speaker 2: There's a whole world of MSNBC and CNN and all
- 0:16Speaker 2: the left-wing kook sites and all the left-wing, the Daily
- 0:20Speaker 2: Beast and Politico, all the left-wing mediaite. And they come
- 0:25Speaker 2: up with something where President Trump has done something wrong
- 0:29Speaker 2: and Aha! They got him. This time they got him.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And they broadcast it all over their left-wing networks. And
- 0:36Speaker 2: then all the left-wingers, all the old ladies with the
- 0:40Speaker 2: Trump derangement syndrome, they all start clucking away.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Aha!
- 0:44Speaker 2: Look at this. We got him. Look what he did.
- 0:47Speaker 2: They've been doing this for 10 years now. Literally 10 years.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Excuse me, 10 and a half years now. Not one
- 0:55Speaker 2: of them has ever mattered. They don't realize nobody in
- 0:58Speaker 2: the public knows about it, cares about it, couldn't care less.
- 1:01Speaker 2: The big one this weekend was President Trump was doing
- 1:05Speaker 2: one of the rallies. And then the rally was over.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And he goes backstage and he comes down. They had steps.
- 1:13Speaker 2: It's a big, big stage up there. You got to
- 1:15Speaker 2: come down the steps to get to the car. And
- 1:19Speaker 2: he comes down the steps. And he walks right past
- 1:22Speaker 2: the beast, the car, the presidential limo. They got the
- 1:25Speaker 2: door open or wait. He walks right past it, not
- 1:29Speaker 2: just past the door, but like 10 feet past the car.
- 1:32Speaker 2: And the Secret Service says, Mr. President, that's the car
- 1:34Speaker 2: over there. Oh, now the video has gone viral. The
- 1:38Speaker 2: left wing are passing around. You're going to see this
- 1:41Speaker 2: on The View today and Joy Behar and everybody going
- 1:43Speaker 2: to tell you, aha, he's got dementia. Look at it.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It's worse than Joe Biden. He's got dementia. Dementia, dementia, dementia.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Didn't even recognize. Well, go look at the video. The
- 1:55Speaker 2: car is not where it's normally. Normally you come down
- 1:57Speaker 2: the steps and there's the motorcade over there sideways, the
- 2:02Speaker 2: sides of the car. So you see the beast. It's
- 2:04Speaker 2: the beast. I don't know why this time they backed
- 2:08Speaker 2: the car in like right next to the foot of
- 2:10Speaker 2: the stairs. So all he sees is the back of
- 2:12Speaker 2: the car. And frankly, go look at the video yourself.
- 2:15Speaker 2: From the back, you can't tell it's the presidential limousine.
- 2:18Speaker 2: It just looks like a regular car from the back.
- 2:21Speaker 2: The doors are open, but it's not where the car
- 2:24Speaker 2: normally would be. Hey, and the other thing, by the way,
- 2:25Speaker 2: I don't know if you know this, but there's now
- 2:28Speaker 2: that special limousine that he rides in, the Beast. There's
- 2:31Speaker 2: now usually two or three of them in the motorcade
- 2:35Speaker 2: just to deceive any attacker. You don't know which one
- 2:37Speaker 2: is the one he's in. So they have a few
- 2:39Speaker 2: of them, but it doesn't mean that, first of all, dementia.
- 2:43Speaker 2: The guy just ad-libbed for three hours on stage. He
- 2:46Speaker 2: did a three-hour ad-lib performance on stage. I don't think
- 2:49Speaker 2: he has any dementia. And they run around with this.
- 2:52Speaker 2: This has been going on for two days. Super viral.
- 2:55Speaker 2: They're all talking about it. Aha, we got him. Nobody
- 2:59Speaker 2: in the public, not one member of the real public,
- 3:01Speaker 2: knows anything about this or cares. Now, the other one
- 3:04Speaker 2: was Katie Zachariah. Not sure how you pronounce it, but
- 3:09Speaker 2: she's gone, so I don't have to worry about it.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Katie Zachariah. They think this is a big issue.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Aha!
- 3:17Speaker 2: Look at the mistake. He hired somebody, the press secretary.
- 3:19Speaker 2: She wasn't very good. Had to fire in one week.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Aha!
- 3:23Speaker 2: We got him. There's nobody in the public that cares
- 3:27Speaker 2: about this, even knows about it. They heard about it
- 3:30Speaker 2: for a second. In four days, there's nobody in the
- 3:34Speaker 2: world that will know who Katie Zachary is, unless she
- 3:37Speaker 2: gets another job or something. But the big issue that
- 3:41Speaker 2: if you're watching all the shows, the MSNBC, the CNN,
- 3:44Speaker 2: She lied about being a lawyer. Well, I don't know
- 3:46Speaker 2: if she lied. She was deceiving about it because she
- 3:49Speaker 2: forgot to mention she's not an actual attorney who passed
- 3:53Speaker 2: the bar. You can still be a lawyer without passing
- 3:55Speaker 2: the bar. You can work in law firms. She even
- 3:57Speaker 2: did work in some big law firms on some big cases.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You just have to have an actual barred attorney sign
- 4:03Speaker 2: off on it. But they keep talking about this. She's
- 4:06Speaker 2: not an attorney. Turns out she didn't pass the bar.
- 4:09Speaker 2: She's not a lawyer. Well, she wasn't. hired to be
- 4:15Speaker 2: the White House general counsel. She wasn't hired to be
- 4:18Speaker 2: the attorney general. Nobody has a law degree. Nobody passes
- 4:22Speaker 2: the bar to be the press secretary. It has nothing
- 4:25Speaker 2: to do with it. She's also not a doctor. You
- 4:27Speaker 2: don't need to be a lawyer or a doctor to
- 4:29Speaker 2: be the press secretary. So the president got rid of her.
- 4:33Speaker 2: She was a little silly not making that clear about
- 4:35Speaker 2: the lawyer stuff. And she just didn't have a good voice.
- 4:39Speaker 4: You can't talk like that and be the press secretary.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Good morning.
- 4:46Speaker 2: It's not a press secretary sound. So she was fired.
- 4:49Speaker 2: But the president was very nice about it. And they'll
- 4:53Speaker 2: make sure she finds something. They'll make sure it's a
- 4:55Speaker 2: nice soft landing. She'll get some nice job somewhere. They'll
- 4:59Speaker 2: make sure of it. Vice President Vance and his wife
- 5:02Speaker 2: took her to dinner Friday night. And the president. Didn't say,
- 5:06Speaker 2: you know, it's not working out. You stink. You're fired.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's a nice way to do it because she was
- 5:11Speaker 2: under attack. Just merciless attack day and night. And he
- 5:16Speaker 2: just said to her. When I get back, we're going
- 5:18Speaker 2: to talk.
- 5:18Speaker 6: Because I don't think that Katie should be made to
- 5:21Speaker 6: suffer like she's suffering.
- 5:23Speaker 2: At the hands of the press. So I will talk to.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Her as soon as I get back.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 2: And that's what they, that's what he said to her.
- 5:30Speaker 2: He just sat her down and said, you don't need this.
- 5:32Speaker 2: You're going to be attacked relentlessly. You don't need it.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Katie's been treated very badly by the media.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Very, very badly.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Very unfairly, I think.
- 5:40Speaker 2: And I just spoke to her about it.
- 5:42Speaker 4: I said, Katie, is this for you?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Because, you know, she's been treated very rough. And she's
- 5:48Speaker 2: a nice person. I said, Katie, you know, you don't
- 5:51Speaker 2: have to do this if you don't want to. She said,
- 5:53Speaker 2: this is.
- 5:54Speaker 4: A lot tougher.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I said, welcome to the world of Trump.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, there's a lot of wealthy guys who
- 6:02Speaker 2: would love to run for president. And some of them
- 6:06Speaker 2: are the top smartest guys in America. And they don't
- 6:08Speaker 2: do it because they saw what Trump went through. Who
- 6:11Speaker 2: the hell needs that? Who the hell needs every network,
- 6:14Speaker 2: every fake news, every mainstream, every New York Times digging
- 6:18Speaker 2: into everything about you, trashing everything in your life? But
- 6:22Speaker 2: the liberal networks, the left-wing networks with their 12 viewers.
- 6:27Speaker 2: But again, all your left-wing kook friends watch this and
- 6:30Speaker 2: whatever they bring up, then they all start clucking about it.
- 6:33Speaker 2: So Katie Zachariah. It's not an issue to the general public.
- 6:38Speaker 2: They couldn't care less. But CNN.
- 6:40Speaker 7: You've got to wonder if she was going into those
- 6:42Speaker 7: interviews thinking that they might have been a little bit
- 6:45Speaker 7: of an effort to rehab her. But instead, it read
- 6:47Speaker 7: a bit more like a sneak attack. There's this sense
- 6:52Speaker 7: of like a one to punch with a kiss of
- 6:55Speaker 7: death there at the end.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they're analyzing this like it's World War II, like
- 7:00Speaker 2: it's crucial to analyze.
- 7:01Speaker 5: It is one of the hardest jobs in Washington, D.C.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Oh, this is one of the worst press secretaries ever,
- 7:06Speaker 2: the bubblehead Karine Jean-Pierre.
- 7:09Speaker 5: It is one of the hardest jobs in Washington, D.C.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Now, here's what I'm talking about. This Karine Jean-Pierre, nice woman,
- 7:16Speaker 2: but very, very low IQ, totally unqualified to be the
- 7:20Speaker 2: press secretary. But she looked good. She was attractive. But
- 7:23Speaker 2: she had a nice voice. She had a very— professional
- 7:27Speaker 2: sort of speaking voice, not the Katie Zakaria, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 2: she sounded good.
- 7:32Speaker 5: It is one of the hardest jobs in Washington, D.C.,
- 7:36Speaker 5: and you have to prepare, and it takes months and weeks,
- 7:39Speaker 5: sometimes longer than that, depending on when you come in,
- 7:44Speaker 5: to get ready for it. I remember when I was
- 7:47Speaker 5: White House press secretary, it took me four hours every
- 7:49Speaker 5: day to prep with my team. It took me weeks
- 7:52Speaker 5: before I went to the podium the first time as
- 7:54Speaker 5: a principal deputy press secretary. You cannot just go in
- 7:57Speaker 5: there not prepared.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they threw her in too fast with like half
- 8:01Speaker 2: a day of preparation. But again, see, you got to
- 8:04Speaker 2: have a nice voice like Kareem there. A lot of
- 8:07Speaker 2: anchormen are like that. I don't want to mention any names,
- 8:09Speaker 2: but there are a lot of Ted Baxters out there.
- 8:11Speaker 2: These anchormen who don't know anything. They're morons. They're bubbleheads.
- 8:14Speaker 2: They don't even know anything about the news. But they
- 8:16Speaker 2: talk like this. They have a voice like this. So
- 8:19Speaker 2: when you put on the news and he says, good evening,
- 8:21Speaker 2: here's the news. Wow, this guy sounds like he knows
- 8:24Speaker 2: what he's talking about. And some of them in real life.
- 8:26Speaker 2: are the biggest dopes you've ever met. I don't want
- 8:29Speaker 2: to mention names here, but the president is going to
- 8:33Speaker 2: be on a blitz all week. He's got an unbelievable schedule.
- 8:37Speaker 2: He's got incredible energy. Most people at 40 couldn't do this,
- 8:41Speaker 2: but he's almost 80 and he's going to do this.
- 8:43Speaker 2: He's going to go to seven states this week. He'll
- 8:46Speaker 2: be in seven states this week. Every afternoon, he flies somewhere,
- 8:50Speaker 2: does a three-hour rally, just to get on stage for
- 8:52Speaker 2: three hours and talk is pretty amazing. But he's going
- 8:55Speaker 2: to fly there, fly back every afternoon. Tonight, today, this afternoon,
- 8:59Speaker 2: he goes to Kansas for the afternoon. He'll be back
- 9:02Speaker 2: in the evening. Now, when I say he has to
- 9:04Speaker 2: fly there, it's not like you're going to the airport
- 9:08Speaker 2: and waiting in the TSA line, waiting at the gate,
- 9:11Speaker 2: fighting with every pushing and shoving. It's not like you
- 9:14Speaker 2: try to fit your bag in the overhead. He's using
- 9:17Speaker 2: that unbelievable Super Palace jet that Cutter gave us. You
- 9:23Speaker 2: should see this thing. It's like you're in the biggest
- 9:28Speaker 2: mansion in the world. It's unbelievable. You should see the
- 9:30Speaker 2: presidential suite. It's an unbelievable bedroom. The bathroom is unbelievable.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Paris Hilton doesn't have a bathroom like this. The shower,
- 9:38Speaker 2: it's amazing. Then there's a kitchen that's unbelievable. Actually, there's
- 9:42Speaker 2: two kitchens that are unbelievable. There's dining rooms, conference rooms.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So it's not like you're on a plane. There's even...
- 9:51Speaker 2: a medical center with an operating, sort of an operating room,
- 9:54Speaker 2: a medical examination center in there. You know, when the
- 9:58Speaker 2: president travels, they have doctors, they have medical facilities, they have,
- 10:05Speaker 2: even there's one of the cars in the motorcade that's
- 10:07Speaker 2: equipped to do surgery if they have to. If they're
- 10:10Speaker 2: out in the field and something god-awful happens and they
- 10:13Speaker 2: have to operate right then and there, they can in
- 10:15Speaker 2: one of those vehicles. They also have many pints of
- 10:19Speaker 2: the president's blood being stored in case they need to
- 10:22Speaker 2: use it. I mean, it's unbelievable the precautions they take.
- 10:26Speaker 2: So France is on fire everywhere. This is not just
- 10:32Speaker 2: the usual student protests. These are radical third world lunatics.
- 10:38Speaker 2: They're all over France. They left the borders wide open.
- 10:41Speaker 2: President Trump. Now telling France, close your borders immediately. They've
- 10:46Speaker 2: got infiltrated half the country now, these wild-eyed lunatics. A
- 10:51Speaker 2: lot of them are crazy communist groups. A lot of
- 10:53Speaker 2: them are crazy Islamic groups, radical. They're the ones doing this.
- 10:58Speaker 2: The looting and burning and trashing of buildings and stores
- 11:02Speaker 2: all over the place. They've noticed in many cities, somehow
- 11:05Speaker 2: they've gotten a list of which stores are Jewish-owned. They've
- 11:09Speaker 2: gone after those. They've taken down government buildings. It's out
- 11:13Speaker 2: of control. In Paris, they've even burned, destroyed, and looted Hermes,
- 11:21Speaker 2: Louis Vuitton, Gucci. Now, there are so many husbands in Paris.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Not too upset about this. It's going to save my
- 11:29Speaker 2: fortune on the wife's credit card. But it's terrible. Hey,
- 11:34Speaker 2: let me give you some ICE numbers. Now, this is fascinating.
- 11:37Speaker 2: You've seen these ICE shootings that happened in New York
- 11:40Speaker 2: a week ago. where they shot somebody. It happened in Minnesota.
- 11:45Speaker 2: It sounds horrible. Why are they shooting people? If you
- 11:48Speaker 2: listen to the crazy Democrats, the Kathy Hochuls, the Mamdanis,
- 11:52Speaker 2: the radicals, ICE is just shooting people all over the
- 11:56Speaker 2: streets of America. Let me give you the actual numbers.
- 12:00Speaker 2: There have been three incidents where ICE has fired at people.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Three times ICE has fired, shot their guns at people.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Three times. This is out of 1.3 million engagements they've
- 12:15Speaker 2: had with the public. This is out of 1.3 million confrontations.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Only three times did they fire out of 1.3 million.
- 12:25Speaker 2: That means they only use their weapons. Now listen to
- 12:27Speaker 2: this number. This is how often they use their weapons.
- 12:30Speaker 5: 0.0002%.
- 12:32Speaker 2: 0.0002%. That is one hell of a safety record. That's
- 12:44Speaker 2: why the media only covers the three incidents. That's the
- 12:47Speaker 2: only ones you hear about. Benjamin Netanyahu is up for
- 12:51Speaker 2: re-election a week from tomorrow. Just eight days away, the
- 12:56Speaker 2: election in Israel, Netanyahu trying to get elected. President Trump
- 12:59Speaker 2: gave him a big endorsement. President Obama trashing him. President Obama, ooh,
- 13:06Speaker 2: the anti-Semitism is coming out. He accused Israel of stealing land.
- 13:10Speaker 2: He defends the Palestinian terror. Unbelievable. Obama making headlines. Now,
- 13:16Speaker 2: he's going pretty radical there. He's joining these crazies yelling
- 13:21Speaker 2: about Israel. They took land off people and they were expelled.
- 13:24Speaker 2: And these people, understandably, this is injustice. I want my
- 13:28Speaker 2: land back. Well, it's a little ridiculous. He also accused
- 13:30Speaker 2: Israel of ceding moral ground by its conduct. This is
- 13:34Speaker 2: pretty anti-Semitic coming from Obama. Netanyahu firmly rejected the idea
- 13:40Speaker 2: that Israel had stolen land, pointing out we're the indigenous people.
- 13:45Speaker 2: This is our homeland. It's called Judea. That's where Jews
- 13:49Speaker 2: come from. We're the indigenous people. This is not the
- 13:52Speaker 2: first time Netanyahu and Obama have clashed. Even in the
- 13:57Speaker 2: White House, in the Oval Office, they've had some pretty
- 13:59Speaker 2: big fights. Obama, not a friend to Israel.
- 14:03Speaker 8: Not at all.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Hey, I mentioned stock market earlier. The AI stocks, people
- 14:10Speaker 2: are panicking, thinking it's a bubble. They're pulling out. The
- 14:13Speaker 2: AI stocks are dipping. The smart investors jumping in. Here's
- 14:17Speaker 2: the other thing going on. A lot of Wall Street
- 14:19Speaker 2: is buzzing about SpaceX, the Elon Musk rocket company. They're
- 14:25Speaker 2: buzzing about SpaceX merging with Tesla. I guess this was
- 14:31Speaker 2: inspired by that flying car demo. that Musk did. It
- 14:36Speaker 2: was a flying car. You've seen the video where the
- 14:38Speaker 2: car goes up on that thing and flies through the
- 14:41Speaker 2: air and then lands itself. I mean, this is right
- 14:44Speaker 2: out of the Jetsons. But apparently that was SpaceX and
- 14:51Speaker 2: Tesla combining forces to develop that thing. All the SpaceX
- 14:55Speaker 2: knowledge and technology put into the Tesla. So the fact
- 14:59Speaker 2: they got together... and worked on that. I guess that's
- 15:03Speaker 2: what started the buzzing, but even Barclays and others said
- 15:06Speaker 2: a merger could happen before the Tesla annual meeting, which
- 15:09Speaker 2: is December 6th. It's got everybody in Wall Street buzzing.
- 15:13Speaker 2: If they combine, it'll be the biggest, most unbelievable, as
- 15:17Speaker 2: far as size and technology, company in the world. So
- 15:20Speaker 2: what they just demonstrated is beyond anything. James Bond couldn't
- 15:24Speaker 2: imagine a car that could do that stuff. Hey, we'll
- 15:26Speaker 2: take some calls next. 800-321- 0710 is the number. Give
- 15:32Speaker 2: me a call. Especially if you're a new caller. 800-321-0710.
- 15:38Speaker 5: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 15:41Speaker 4: Three.
- 15:42Speaker 2: The Mark Simone Show.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 15:48Speaker 5: 710WOR.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 15:53Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 15:55Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark.
- 15:56Speaker 9: I'm doing very well, thank you. Mark, if I may,
- 15:59Speaker 9: I'd like to ask you a two-part question.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Okay. They both involve President Trump.
- 16:07Speaker 9: You will remember back in January 1992, due to summit flu,
- 16:11Speaker 9: President Herbert Walker Bush vomited and fainted at a banquet
- 16:15Speaker 9: held by the Prime Minister of Japan.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Now, my question for number one is, does.
- 16:20Speaker 9: President Trump use a food taster when he travels to
- 16:23Speaker 9: foreign countries?
- 16:24Speaker 4: No.
- 16:25Speaker 9: The second part of the question is, Will President Trump
- 16:29Speaker 9: stick by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles?
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yes, he already has. Friday night he said she's not
- 16:35Speaker 2: going anywhere. She will stay. She's not leaving. Obviously, the
- 16:40Speaker 2: Daily Beast, Politico, whoever started that whole story, had it
- 16:43Speaker 2: wrong despite their unnamed sources or two people familiar with
- 16:48Speaker 2: the matter. Good questions, Dave. They always give you that
- 16:51Speaker 2: three people familiar with the matter. Well, apparently they weren't
- 16:54Speaker 2: familiar enough. The president doesn't use a food taster. You know,
- 16:58Speaker 2: a lot of times they make the food on Air
- 17:01Speaker 2: Force One that he'll be eating, even when he's at
- 17:03Speaker 2: a big banquet, appearing on a dais or something where
- 17:08Speaker 2: the hotel has got, everybody's got the same meals. He
- 17:11Speaker 2: has his own meal. It comes from Air Force One.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I remember once emceeing a dinner with then-President Bush, senior, H.W.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Bush.
- 17:20Speaker 2: So I'm the emcee. I'm sitting right next to him
- 17:22Speaker 2: on the dais. Everybody's got this rubber chicken. It was
- 17:25Speaker 2: the New York Hilton. And he's got this much better
- 17:28Speaker 2: looking food. It's great. Now, that came from Air Force
- 17:30Speaker 2: One where they made it in the kitchen. And he's
- 17:33Speaker 2: not eating it. And the dinner's like halfway through. I said,
- 17:35Speaker 2: you're not going to eat that? He goes, no. I said,
- 17:37Speaker 2: can I eat it? He goes, eh, take it. Most
- 17:41Speaker 2: of the time, the president has his own food, just
- 17:43Speaker 2: for security reasons. Let's go to Ralph in Manhattan. Ralph,
- 17:47Speaker 2: how are you doing? Mark, what's happening?
- 17:50Speaker 1: You know, I'll tell you, these aren't exactly a bunch
- 17:52Speaker 1: of Frenchmen wreaking havoc in France. I mean, I saw
- 17:56Speaker 1: who was out there and it was pretty remarkable what
- 18:00Speaker 1: kind of damage they can do. You know, they call
- 18:02Speaker 1: it protests, Mark, but it's actually riots. I mean, we've
- 18:05Speaker 1: already covered, we've.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Already, we've already gone through this. Yeah. Normally every year
- 18:10Speaker 2: there's protests in France. It's always the students, the unions
- 18:13Speaker 2: go on strike. This is different. There's, 54 groups, only
- 18:18Speaker 2: 16 of them are the traditional. The other 38, because
- 18:22Speaker 2: of France leaving their borders wide open for years, the
- 18:24Speaker 2: other 38, radical Islamist groups, communist groups, third world people,
- 18:29Speaker 2: all these crazies are trying to take down France and
- 18:33Speaker 2: its government. Let's go to Lucio and Beth Page. Lucio,
- 18:37Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 18:39Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark. I'm a first-time caller.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Very good. Welcome. Glad you called.
- 18:45Speaker 8: I've been listening to you for years. I wanted to
- 18:47Speaker 8: talk about Bruce Blakeman. I went to the Columbus Day
- 18:50Speaker 8: Parade the other day, and I saw Bruce get up
- 18:52Speaker 8: his Escalade, and he was walking up Lexington Avenue. I
- 18:58Speaker 8: was behind him for about five blocks, and not one
- 19:01Speaker 8: person recognized him. That alarmed me.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I'm sure plenty of people recognized him.
- 19:09Speaker 8: I was behind him, and nobody looked at him or
- 19:12Speaker 8: turned back to look at him. And it was insane.
- 19:14Speaker 8: I couldn't believe it.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Well, how do you know they didn't recognize him?
- 19:18Speaker 8: Because if they would, don't you think they would turn
- 19:21Speaker 8: around and say, hey, look, it's Bruce Blakeman, you know?
- 19:23Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no.
- 19:26Speaker 8: I thought it was very.
- 19:27Speaker 2: No, people don't do that anymore. People recognize a lot
- 19:30Speaker 2: of people. I get recognized all the time, and nobody
- 19:32Speaker 2: says anything. I find out later, because... I mean, there
- 19:36Speaker 2: have been times where I... I didn't want to tell anybody.
- 19:40Speaker 2: I said, I can't meet you. I'm busy. I'm busy.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I'm busy. I have to work all day. I can't
- 19:44Speaker 2: see it. And then they'll call me later. He goes,
- 19:46Speaker 2: you know, friends of mine saw you in a restaurant.
- 19:48Speaker 2: People saw you there. So people don't just because they
- 19:51Speaker 2: recognize somebody. It's 2026. They don't yell and scream your name.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Believe me, a lot of people. I've walked around with
- 19:58Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman. People come up to him all over the place.
- 20:01Speaker 2: People recognize him. Let's go to Sal in Eastchester. Sal,
- 20:05Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 20:07Speaker 3: Hey, Mark, could you speak about another inflation that's out there,
- 20:12Speaker 3: and that is merchants and restaurants charging 3% to use
- 20:15Speaker 3: a credit card? Isn't that kind of outrageous?
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's how American Express and those credit card companies,
- 20:21Speaker 2: that's how they make a living. They put a fee
- 20:24Speaker 2: on those.
- 20:24Speaker 3: We didn't have this in the past years.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, no, what happened was we always had it. It
- 20:28Speaker 2: was always there. It's just the restaurant paid it. That's
- 20:30Speaker 2: why they preferred cash, because if you use American Express,
- 20:33Speaker 2: they got to pay 3% to them. So now they're
- 20:35Speaker 2: passing the cost along to you. It's not just that.
- 20:39Speaker 2: They used to be able to tip whatever the hell
- 20:41Speaker 2: you want. Now it's right on the bill. You got
- 20:44Speaker 2: to check whether you want 15%, 20%, 25%. And the
- 20:48Speaker 2: other thing, we mentioned this last week. In California, they've
- 20:51Speaker 2: started this trend. It may spread. Besides the tip, if
- 20:54Speaker 2: you look carefully at the bill, there's an administrative fee.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Some restaurants snuck that in the bill, an administrative fee,
- 21:01Speaker 2: whatever the hell that is. A couple of them even
- 21:04Speaker 2: had a thing called venue fee. Which makes absolutely no sense. Hey,
- 21:10Speaker 2: when we come back, we'll talk to the great gossip columnist,
- 21:13Speaker 2: the great writer, Rob Shooter. He'll be with us next,
- 21:17Speaker 2: so don't go away. 710WOR.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Live from the WOR Life Fact Studios, Mark Simone. Well,
- 21:27Speaker 6: Rob Shooter, the great gossip, the great columnist, the great writer. Now,
- 21:32Speaker 6: you've got to check out his YouTube channel. It's Rob
- 21:35Speaker 6: Shooter YouTube. And, of course, his sub stack. You should
- 21:38Speaker 6: subscribe to it. It's Naughty But Nice, Rob Shooter's sub stack.
- 21:43Speaker 6: And then get his book. He's written some great stuff.
- 21:48Speaker 6: It started with a whisper, his novel. There's a new
- 21:50Speaker 6: novel coming. And he's with us now. Rob Shooter, how
- 21:53Speaker 6: are you doing?
- 21:55Speaker 4: Hey, Mark, how are you, my friend? It's been a busy,
- 21:58Speaker 4: busy couple of days because the Sussexes are back and
- 22:01Speaker 4: pretending this time to be royals. Lots of drama over
- 22:05Speaker 4: in the UK.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Now, the Sussexes sounds very impressive, but then you find
- 22:12Speaker 2: out it's this goofy Harry and Meghan who don't know
- 22:15Speaker 2: what kind of work they're out of. Why did they
- 22:17Speaker 2: come back here? Are they actually making any money here?
- 22:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's really curious. So they moved back to Britain
- 22:23Speaker 4: about six weeks ago. It should be noted they have
- 22:25Speaker 4: not met or spoken with the king publicly. I'm told
- 22:29Speaker 4: there's been a few private conversations, but they've not spoken
- 22:31Speaker 4: to William since 2022. So four years ago, there's a rift,
- 22:36Speaker 4: an ugly rift within this family. And the queen... The
- 22:40Speaker 4: queen said when they left, when they decided to leave,
- 22:43Speaker 4: it was the queen who said to them, you can't
- 22:45Speaker 4: be half in, you can't be half out. You're either
- 22:47Speaker 4: royals and you do the work or you leave the family.
- 22:50Speaker 4: And they chose to leave the family. However, when they
- 22:54Speaker 4: were in California, the two of them realized that they
- 22:59Speaker 4: do not need the palace, the late queen, or anyone
- 23:03Speaker 4: else's permission to masquerade as royals. He is a prince.
- 23:08Speaker 4: And so on Thursday, they turned up at a couple
- 23:11Speaker 4: of charities in Nottingham, and it looked very much like
- 23:15Speaker 4: a royal visit. If you've seen the photographs, they had
- 23:17Speaker 4: some crowds outside, not large crowds, but they were not nothing.
- 23:22Speaker 4: And they did a walkabout, they met fans, they took selfies,
- 23:26Speaker 4: they kissed babies, and then they left. And this is
- 23:29Speaker 4: what they missed. In Britain, to be a prince, to
- 23:32Speaker 4: be a member of the royal family, it means a lot.
- 23:35Speaker 4: People on the high street, people in Britain, love these
- 23:38Speaker 4: royals and they want to get any taste of it,
- 23:42Speaker 4: any closeness they can. Here it didn't matter. Harry walking
- 23:46Speaker 4: into a Starbucks as a prince, nobody cared about that here.
- 23:49Speaker 4: He missed that. Who wouldn't? And so they're back in
- 23:52Speaker 4: Britain being royals and the palace has a real problem
- 23:55Speaker 4: on their hands here, Mark, because how do they stop them?
- 23:58Speaker 4: You can't stop private individuals doing charity events, so they're
- 24:03Speaker 4: probably just going to have to put.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Up with this. Now, Rob Shooter, nothing personal, but what
- 24:09Speaker 2: the hell does this royal family actually mean anyway? What
- 24:11Speaker 2: do they really do? What is the purpose of it?
- 24:14Speaker 4: This is why your shows are hit. You just get
- 24:17Speaker 4: to the chase. They do absolutely nothing. There is no
- 24:21Speaker 4: purpose to it. It is a reality show. It is
- 24:24Speaker 4: very comforting. Older people will say that they have fond
- 24:30Speaker 4: memories of the Queen. But I think for a new generation,
- 24:35Speaker 4: William knows that changes are going to have to be made.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Gone are the days when you can be born into
- 24:42Speaker 4: a position of great power and privilege and expect everybody
- 24:45Speaker 4: to bow and curtsy. Now you have to earn that right.
- 24:49Speaker 4: And they haven't done that for generations. And so it's
- 24:54Speaker 4: really complicated, this new world that we do live in.
- 24:59Speaker 4: We want people running the show in charge who we pick,
- 25:03Speaker 4: who we elect. God forbid that if Harry had been
- 25:07Speaker 4: born first, Harry would be the next king. And so
- 25:11Speaker 4: it's just a real, really dodgy system. It's a system
- 25:15Speaker 4: that's based on luck. And so far, Britain's had some
- 25:18Speaker 4: good kings, some bad kings, some good queens, some bad queens.
- 25:22Speaker 4: But now I think the public, for the first time ever,
- 25:24Speaker 4: at least in my lifetime, the opinion polls over there
- 25:27Speaker 4: are 50-50 for and against the monarchy. And so, yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 4: they've got to get their act together. They cost a
- 25:33Speaker 4: ton of money. And the Brits are asking the same
- 25:36Speaker 4: question you just asked, which is, what do we get
- 25:38Speaker 4: for all this money we spend on them?
- 25:40Speaker 2: You know what the real problem is? I could see
- 25:43Speaker 2: years ago Diana or somebody like that. It was glamorous.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Look how glamorous she looks. Look what she's wearing. Look
- 25:49Speaker 2: what restaurant she went to. Look what she's doing. Well,
- 25:51Speaker 2: that's a million people on Instagram now that do that.
- 25:53Speaker 5: Every influencer.
- 25:54Speaker 2: So what the hell do we need them for anymore?
- 25:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right to it. The world has changed.
- 26:00Speaker 4: And I think social media and Instagram, it's changed the
- 26:03Speaker 4: way that we connect with people. I'm told that when
- 26:06Speaker 4: Williams King and his dad... is recovering from cancer. We
- 26:11Speaker 4: wish him nothing but the best. But William will be
- 26:13Speaker 4: the next king of England. Major, major changes are going
- 26:17Speaker 4: to be made. I'm told the Buckingham Palace will no
- 26:19Speaker 4: longer be a palace. It's going to be a museum
- 26:22Speaker 4: or they're going to turn it back to the public.
- 26:24Speaker 4: They want the tourists back. They understand that having a
- 26:29Speaker 4: king or a queen brings tourists in, the trooping of
- 26:32Speaker 4: the color, the guards outside the palace. It's all lovely
- 26:35Speaker 4: to see. It's all history. But it doesn't really have
- 26:37Speaker 4: a function anymore. And so William's going to really streamline it.
- 26:41Speaker 4: And William's going to cut off a lot of those
- 26:43Speaker 4: royals who are on the gravy train. So when William's king,
- 26:46Speaker 4: things will change. But for the next few years, while
- 26:49Speaker 4: his dad's on the throne... Harry's going to do whatever
- 26:52Speaker 4: the hell he wants. There's nothing they can do about it.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Rob Shooter has a new novel. You can pre-order it
- 26:58Speaker 2: right now. You should. He's got great books. The new
- 27:01Speaker 2: novel is Queen Elizabeth III. Tell us, what is this
- 27:05Speaker 2: book about? Tell us.
- 27:06Speaker 4: So what this book's about is it's set 15 years
- 27:10Speaker 4: in the future. So fast forward 15 15 years, and
- 27:15Speaker 4: I write a novel with a new queen on the throne,
- 27:19Speaker 4: and it's not who you think it is. There is
- 27:22Speaker 4: a disaster. There's an abdication. There's decisions that are made,
- 27:26Speaker 4: and it turns the royal family upside down. And so
- 27:30Speaker 4: in 15 years from now, it's not William, it's not
- 27:33Speaker 4: William's children. I have a young lady who suddenly becomes
- 27:38Speaker 4: queen through really exceptional circumstances and what that looks like.
- 27:43Speaker 4: And so it's a fun, it's novel, it's all fiction.
- 27:46Speaker 4: None of this is going to happen. I don't want
- 27:49Speaker 4: any of this to happen. But I think it's a
- 27:51Speaker 4: real story about families. You know, they're the most famous
- 27:54Speaker 4: family in the world. And that family is a family business.
- 27:58Speaker 4: And anybody who's ever worked in the family business, it
- 28:01Speaker 4: can be really difficult. So it's a story about what
- 28:04Speaker 4: it's like to work with your relatives, a bit jealous.
- 28:07Speaker 4: You know, is it possible for a mother to be
- 28:09Speaker 4: jealous of her daughter? What happens with that? Is it
- 28:12Speaker 4: possible to find love, to have any normality in your
- 28:16Speaker 4: life if you're the queen of England? And so it's
- 28:19Speaker 4: a really fun family drama that just happens to be
- 28:22Speaker 4: set up. within the most famous family in the world.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Well, everybody go pre-order. It's a new novel, Queen Elizabeth III.
- 28:30Speaker 2: It's by Rob Shooter. Pre-order it right now. Hey, this
- 28:34Speaker 2: Kelly Clarkson thing was the stupidest story I've ever heard.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I mean, you go into certain stores, they got something
- 28:40Speaker 2: on the wall that's amazing, but it's part of their decor.
- 28:42Speaker 2: It's not for sale. What didn't she gasp about that?
- 28:46Speaker 4: And she didn't get her own way. So she turned
- 28:49Speaker 4: up in Brooklyn. And I'm sure anyone that's been into
- 28:51Speaker 4: a store in Brooklyn, they're kind of hip and cool.
- 28:54Speaker 4: They're a little too cool for school. And there's always
- 28:56Speaker 4: a little bit of an attitude. I was in Brooklyn
- 28:58Speaker 4: a couple of weekends ago, and I went to get
- 29:00Speaker 4: a cup of coffee and a bagel. And I just
- 29:02Speaker 4: wasn't cool enough for the store, and they let me
- 29:04Speaker 4: know it. So there's something about Brooklyn. They like Harry Styles.
- 29:08Speaker 4: They like Zoe Kravitz. They're really hipsters. And so Kelly
- 29:12Speaker 4: turned up. She's never been the coolest celebrity in the world.
- 29:14Speaker 4: She turned up. She wanted to buy this bird, this
- 29:17Speaker 4: mechanical bird on the wall. They told her it was
- 29:19Speaker 4: not for sale, but they did tell her, this is
- 29:22Speaker 4: the artist who made it. You can contact him and
- 29:24Speaker 4: he'll give you a special commission. That wasn't good enough.
- 29:27Speaker 4: And I think what this is, is it's David and Goliath,
- 29:30Speaker 4: isn't it? It's celebrities, it's people with power acting very,
- 29:35Speaker 4: very poorly. You know, this store, it's a mom and
- 29:38Speaker 4: pop store in Brooklyn. They're now getting death threats. Eight
- 29:42Speaker 4: million of Kelly Colloxon's fans now know where this store is.
- 29:46Speaker 4: And so I'm really shocked about Kelly doing this. I've
- 29:49Speaker 4: known her for a I know a lot of celebrities, Mark.
- 29:53Speaker 4: I know you do too. Most of them are not
- 29:56Speaker 4: that nice. Kelly Clarkson is one of the good ones.
- 29:59Speaker 4: So I fear here, and I might be giving her
- 30:02Speaker 4: the benefit of the doubt, I think she was having
- 30:05Speaker 4: a terrible day. She made a terrible mistake. But what
- 30:07Speaker 4: I can't explain is why she doubled down on it.
- 30:10Speaker 4: She kept going. I've worked with celebrities. I've done crisis
- 30:14Speaker 4: management for Jennifer Lopez, Jon Bon Jovi, Diddy. I've worked
- 30:18Speaker 4: with some of the biggest stars in the world. And
- 30:19Speaker 4: if I was working with Kelly, I'd say just fix this.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Say sorry. Just say, I was having a bad day.
- 30:27Speaker 4: I was being a brat. I'm sorry. And tell your
- 30:30Speaker 4: fans to back off with the death threats and all
- 30:32Speaker 4: the ugly messages. It's amazing to me that entitled, super
- 30:39Speaker 4: rich celebrities just think they can get away with anything.
- 30:43Speaker 4: But I think this one's going to bite, Kelly. It's
- 30:45Speaker 4: not a good look.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Crisis management for Diddy. Whoa, you must be tired. That's
- 30:50Speaker 2: full-time work.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Years ago, everybody. It was like early 2000s.
- 30:58Speaker 4: It was 20 years ago. He wasn't quite yet the
- 31:00Speaker 4: Diddy we know. But I talked about it. I read
- 31:02Speaker 4: a story for The Hollywood Reporter. And I was really
- 31:05Speaker 4: honest about it. I was like, did I miss any
- 31:07Speaker 4: red flags? Was he just an awful person back then?
- 31:10Speaker 4: And I was so, you know, I was soul-searched. And
- 31:13Speaker 4: when I came to the conclusion, I was like, I
- 31:15Speaker 4: wanted to miss the red flags. I was so, as
- 31:20Speaker 4: a young kid, it was 20 years ago, and it
- 31:22Speaker 4: was my first big celebrity I worked for, and I
- 31:25Speaker 4: was starstruck. And that's why they get away with stuff
- 31:28Speaker 4: for so long. They use that. And so, yeah, so
- 31:32Speaker 4: Diddy was one of my very first clients in New York.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but people change over 10, 20 years. And if
- 31:37Speaker 2: you're the biggest star in the world and you're in
- 31:39Speaker 2: this big star bubble, it can really change you behaving.
- 31:43Speaker 4: You're right.
- 31:43Speaker 3: You're right.
- 31:43Speaker 4: I didn't want to let myself off the hook on that.
- 31:47Speaker 4: There's some truth to that, too. The Diddy I knew
- 31:49Speaker 4: wasn't the Diddy that he is today. And yes, there
- 31:52Speaker 4: was early warning signs. He was always arrogant. He was
- 31:54Speaker 4: always rude. He was always full of himself. But he
- 31:57Speaker 4: wasn't quite as sure of himself as he wasn't a billionaire.
- 32:01Speaker 4: He was starting out in the music business. He was
- 32:04Speaker 4: starting out in the fashion business. Once that success hit,
- 32:09Speaker 4: You know, I don't know if it changes you or
- 32:11Speaker 4: just reveals who you really.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Really are.
- 32:14Speaker 4: That's true. Whatever the result is here, it wasn't pretty.
- 32:20Speaker 4: He's a bad guy.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. It's like drinking. It brings out the
- 32:23Speaker 2: real you sometimes.
- 32:26Speaker 4: I'm a good drunk. What do you like when you're drunk, Mark?
- 32:28Speaker 1: Water.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I'm drinking the water right now. I sent you.
- 32:30Speaker 4: There you go.
- 32:33Speaker 2: No, let's go over everything. You got your Substack, right?
- 32:36Speaker 2: People can go sign up for that. Thank you.
- 32:38Speaker 4: I'm loving doing Substack. So each day I'm breaking news
- 32:41Speaker 4: on Substack. It's a big housewife week. I know we
- 32:43Speaker 4: like the housewife still. The New York ladies are coming
- 32:46Speaker 4: back to TV.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Ramona, Luan, all those ladies. So they stopped getting ratings.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Bravo don't fire you if you deliver ratings. That's what
- 32:57Speaker 4: TV's about. They don't care about the quality of the product.
- 33:00Speaker 4: It's how many eyeballs you get. And so nobody was
- 33:03Speaker 4: watching them anymore, so they all got fired. And then E,
- 33:06Speaker 4: who used to be owned by Bravo, got sold off.
- 33:08Speaker 4: So E now is a separate company, and E's given
- 33:11Speaker 4: the ladies the original... New York ladies, their own show.
- 33:14Speaker 4: If they're coming back to a make or break week
- 33:16Speaker 4: for them, because if people don't turn in, it's the
- 33:20Speaker 4: last stop on the train. It feels to me.
- 33:22Speaker 2: All right.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Well, if we've got to the.
- 33:24Speaker 2: End of that journey, everybody listening, make sure you don't
- 33:26Speaker 2: turn in. Don't do it. But, uh, Hey, but everybody
- 33:31Speaker 2: go to a sub stack, go to Rob shooter sub
- 33:34Speaker 2: sub stack. It's naughty, but nice. And then get his
- 33:37Speaker 2: new book. You can preorder it right now. I need
- 33:39Speaker 2: your help. Uh, We need your help with the new novel.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Queen Elizabeth III. Order the new novel, Queen Elizabeth III.
