- 1:42Speaker 5: You're a long time coming, I.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Mean, right, this is I can't believe that this is
- 1:47Speaker 3: really your first time being on the former.
- 1:49Speaker 5: Yes, because I was like, no, no, you.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not your first time because you did It's
- 1:55Speaker 2: been a long time.
- 1:56Speaker 5: But I was like, man, Fever Dream or early you
- 2:00Speaker 5: guested on.
- 2:01Speaker 3: We had a it was a review of something I
- 2:04Speaker 3: know that we did, an All Star and you were
- 2:07Speaker 3: on that.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yes, yes, okay, all right, because man, I thought I
- 2:11Speaker 1: was going crazy.
- 2:12Speaker 5: I might still be, but yes, hello, but this is.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Your first time being solo in the space shops, you know,
- 2:18Speaker 3: and it comes at a momentous time.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Smells like sandal wood in here, I like.
- 2:25Speaker 2: In the Spaceship. I like that.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I thought it was like black ice at tree.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Or coneyak.
- 2:34Speaker 3: That's what I always think about Spaceship smells like a
- 2:38Speaker 3: good cone yak. But yeah, before we get started stuff,
- 2:41Speaker 3: you know, what I mean, you're here in the spaceship
- 2:44Speaker 3: and like we said, just last week, right, just last week,
- 2:48Speaker 3: we found out the news that you were the Eisner
- 2:52Speaker 3: Award nominated for Best Writer, the first I mean, and
- 2:56Speaker 3: this is one of them, like for real, Like when
- 2:58Speaker 3: I found this out, because I was looking at it
- 3:00Speaker 3: today and I was like, it was like damn, but yeah,
- 3:03Speaker 3: I'm like congratulations stuff. But also the first since the
- 3:06Speaker 3: late great Dwayne Duffy, the first black person.
- 3:11Speaker 5: It's like, damn congratulations.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I know, because when I found out, you know, one
- 3:19Speaker 1: step initially wore off.
- 3:21Speaker 5: I started doing the you know, mental.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Math, and I was like, wait a minute, thirty one
- 3:27Speaker 1: years and then I double checked because I know how
- 3:31Speaker 1: Baker had been nominated, but it was Best Writer Artists
- 3:36Speaker 1: for Humor and he was the first African American to
- 3:40Speaker 1: awake in Eisner several times.
- 3:42Speaker 5: But like that's very a legend, Kyle.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:47Speaker 1: And then Temporal being nominated for Best New Series. I
- 3:51Speaker 1: didn't know that that happened. I was like, what, yeah, scratch, wow, yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 1: how's it sunk in? It has sunk in? And if
- 4:01Speaker 1: it hasn't, all the hey big head, please come home.
- 4:04Speaker 5: We miss you. How you doing vibe.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Messages in my inbox. Yeah, definitely solidified that. That has
- 4:13Speaker 1: been the most That has been the most hilarious.
- 4:15Speaker 5: All the one you win in when you up all
- 4:17Speaker 5: of a sudden, people come out the woodwork, like I
- 4:20Speaker 5: know her. I know her since you know ninety five, and.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You know we used to play your Pokemon cards together.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And I'm like, all right, man, relax, wow, wow.
- 4:32Speaker 5: No, I know how it is.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But listen, we want to start there because it's important
- 4:35Speaker 1: to give you your flowers, right, yeah, saying your flower
- 4:37Speaker 1: file you can smell them.
- 4:38Speaker 5: And also you deserve the celebration. I mean, you've.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Done so much over the last how long you've been active,
- 4:47Speaker 1: like ever since the Twitter threats?
- 4:48Speaker 5: So we talked about seven eight years at this point.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Shit, yeah, actually almost ten, right, yeah, or it has
- 4:57Speaker 1: been ten.
- 4:58Speaker 5: That's crazy.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I almost wanted to say ten, but then I thought, like, damn,
- 5:02Speaker 1: we're real close, and like it's a decade with your
- 5:07Speaker 1: decade of experience now, I mean, and honestly, it's more
- 5:09Speaker 1: than a decade experience, right because as a writer, as
- 5:12Speaker 1: a creator, you're informed by your life, you're informed by
- 5:15Speaker 1: people in your world, and you you know even though
- 5:18Speaker 1: you weren't quote on paper the Marvel person or this
- 5:22Speaker 1: or that person. You've been doing this all your life,
- 5:24Speaker 1: so like, yeah, now we almost had ten years in
- 5:28Speaker 1: the game, Like, how do you see yourself moving forward? Honestly,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I know and I don't know, so a ten year
- 5:38Speaker 1: plan or even maybe seven year plan, Like I would
- 5:40Speaker 1: really love to start my own publishing company because I've
- 5:44Speaker 1: quickly found out that really to move the needle in
- 5:48Speaker 1: this industry is to have the type of control when
- 5:52Speaker 1: you can really put people on and not necessarily have
- 5:57Speaker 1: to rely on suggesting somebody for some then and then
- 6:01Speaker 1: you know, getting the whole. They're not the stone that
- 6:03Speaker 1: beat the system until you hire them.
- 6:05Speaker 5: So anyway, that type thing.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But seventeen years from now, like I would love for
- 6:11Speaker 1: that to be the case, and hopefully enough bread to
- 6:14Speaker 1: hire people to like do the shit that I can't
- 6:18Speaker 1: do right because I'm not an expert and everything, but
- 6:21Speaker 1: I would love that, I, like I sincerely would love
- 6:24Speaker 1: for that to happen.
- 6:26Speaker 3: So going back, like when I first heard of you
- 6:29Speaker 3: was you know, I guess on Twitter because it wasn't
- 6:32Speaker 3: Brad yet, so definitely Twitter, and it was all like
- 6:36Speaker 3: the X Men memes with the cartoon and then of
- 6:41Speaker 3: course heroes living heroes. But I didn't like it was
- 6:45Speaker 3: just like you just came into it kind of fully formed,
- 6:48Speaker 3: you know. It was like, Yo, this woman is just
- 6:50Speaker 3: fucking fire, you know, she just does dope shit. And
- 6:53Speaker 3: so I didn't realize that you had been writing, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 3: before that, and we're writing at the I'm like writing
- 7:01Speaker 3: about you know, comics and everything. So what's when did
- 7:05Speaker 3: you first get it into comics? Like when did it
- 7:08Speaker 3: start for you? Do you remember the first comic you bought?
- 7:11Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 7:11Speaker 1: So the very first comic that lined by my grandma
- 7:15Speaker 1: did We were at the Dollar Try uh, and you
- 7:18Speaker 1: could get like there's like these very small trade paperbacks
- 7:22Speaker 1: compendiums of like the Sunday Funny stuff. So like I'm
- 7:25Speaker 1: in a circus or Family Circus.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Yeah, oh my god. Family Struck is such a throwback. Yes, hey,
- 7:35Speaker 5: gard the horrible stuff like that.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Wow.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Yeah, And like I remember picking that up and like
- 7:42Speaker 1: thumbing through it and just having a good time.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Mind you dolling.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I'm like maybe six seven, Wow, Wow, I can't believe
- 7:49Speaker 1: I did that. I was six or seven years old.
- 7:53Speaker 1: My son was in here. He definitely would have did
- 7:55Speaker 1: the thing but.
- 7:58Speaker 5: That and then from from.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yes and I hate it, and from there the actual
- 8:04Speaker 1: like floppy that I first read was Avengers three sixty
- 8:09Speaker 1: one damn. So that's when I think it's like in
- 8:12Speaker 1: the middle of like Sircy Black Night and Crystal and
- 8:15Speaker 1: that little love triangle Vision Vision was in.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Factory mode, all white and having.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Feelings because what's outside kissing outside of his window?
- 8:25Speaker 5: He was like, well, damn, what is it like to
- 8:27Speaker 5: be human? So that is something that I remember.
- 8:30Speaker 1: And that was like a book that I picked up
- 8:32Speaker 1: at the thrift store again with my grandmother, and you
- 8:37Speaker 1: could find like a lot of old comics.
- 8:39Speaker 5: At the thrift story at the time. So reading that,
- 8:42Speaker 5: I was like, oh, it's like you know, Voult and
- 8:44Speaker 5: the Beautiful Young and the Restless.
- 8:45Speaker 1: They just it was just like the stories, yea stories stories. Yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 1: So that was that was that was the thing for me.
- 8:53Speaker 1: And then I discovered Archie and then it was just that.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Was my thing for a long time. Archie, Yeah, jug
- 9:00Speaker 5: heading in them.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I don't know, like it was just you know, it's
- 9:03Speaker 1: cute and comfortable and you know, Riverdale seemed like a
- 9:07Speaker 1: real nice place to live. There was some black folks
- 9:10Speaker 1: that was there, so it didn't seem two races, So
- 9:12Speaker 1: you know, it's fine, I love.
- 9:14Speaker 5: It, not too races.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Yeah, And I say that like I was the type
- 9:18Speaker 3: it didn't matter what the comic was, I read it.
- 9:21Speaker 3: So if I got my hands on Archie, and I
- 9:23Speaker 3: did give my hands on Archie, I read all of them,
- 9:25Speaker 3: and I read them multiple.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Times of that.
- 9:27Speaker 1: So is it safe to say, like those comics and
- 9:32Speaker 1: even just the experience of getting the comics at the
- 9:35Speaker 1: Dollar Tree, the Dollar Store, did.
- 9:36Speaker 5: That inform your way of writing when.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It came to your comics or would you just think
- 9:41Speaker 1: that was just the framework, like like when I and
- 9:45Speaker 1: the Difference is like that style, that that formed your
- 9:48Speaker 1: own style?
- 9:49Speaker 5: Or was it just like, Yo, I like comics, I
- 9:51Speaker 5: want to do the same thing.
- 9:52Speaker 1: It was really I like comics, I would like to
- 9:55Speaker 1: do the same thing. But it wasn't until reading and
- 10:00Speaker 1: Dwaye McDuffie, because I had no idea that he had
- 10:02Speaker 1: written comics at you know, by the time I discovered
- 10:04Speaker 1: him at a young age, I was just familiar with
- 10:07Speaker 1: you know, Justice League, just League Unlimited Static and you know,
- 10:11Speaker 1: seeing the written credits or whatever and seeing that name,
- 10:14Speaker 1: and then I was like, oh, what he does write comics?
- 10:17Speaker 1: It was Captain Marvel. That one shot that he did,
- 10:20Speaker 1: like when she had lost her powers.
- 10:22Speaker 5: This was like ninety something. Yeah he did that, And
- 10:25Speaker 5: I think, yeah, he did that, she lost the power?
- 10:30Speaker 1: You said, yeah, yes, so that one when I finally
- 10:34Speaker 1: read that, just because of the way that he writes,
- 10:38Speaker 1: like the characterization of the character of the actual characters
- 10:41Speaker 1: or whatever were always seems to stuck out to me
- 10:43Speaker 1: because they felt relatable, they felt lived in, like people
- 10:46Speaker 1: you wanted to root for or people you wanted to
- 10:48Speaker 1: root against because of just the way that he wrote it,
- 10:52Speaker 1: And that is like one of my favorite comic issues.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I read that quite frequently because it's just so well
- 10:59Speaker 1: paid and you get to see Monica's interior life, how
- 11:04Speaker 1: she interacts with her parents, her old teammates even though
- 11:08Speaker 1: she doesn't have powers, and like kind of like this
- 11:11Speaker 1: in versus Storm losing her power, where you see a
- 11:14Speaker 1: woman who has lost it, but she has a community
- 11:17Speaker 1: of people to like hold her up. Unlike Storm when
- 11:20Speaker 1: she first lost her powers. You know, she's just in
- 11:22Speaker 1: the in whatever Forges apartment or whatever, waking up alone
- 11:27Speaker 1: looking crazy because she knows her powers.
- 11:29Speaker 5: This man she is with is the cause of her
- 11:32Speaker 5: losing it.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So that was just always something that stood out, and
- 11:35Speaker 1: I read more of his stuff, especially his run on
- 11:38Speaker 1: Justice League.
- 11:39Speaker 5: Was it America JLA?
- 11:41Speaker 2: Right?
- 11:42Speaker 5: Okay?
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and the whole Vixen Bronze Tiger thing just really
- 11:46Speaker 1: spoke to me. I was heartbroken that they didn't get together,
- 11:49Speaker 1: but because he made me feel that way, I was like,
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know what, I want to write this way, like
- 11:55Speaker 1: I want to write and people feel whatever feelings in
- 12:00Speaker 1: between the moments when these superheroes are being great.
- 12:03Speaker 2: So did you read his stuff on Milestone?
- 12:06Speaker 1: Yes, so finally I made my way to Milestone. But
- 12:10Speaker 1: that was a little trickier, you know. I hate to
- 12:13Speaker 1: say it, but that was something that I had to
- 12:16Speaker 1: turn because I could not find those in the comics.
- 12:19Speaker 1: So I'm just keeping it real, like it's not like
- 12:22Speaker 1: DC Unlimited existed Marvel or you know what I mean,
- 12:26Speaker 1: Like given my computer viruses, so I can get into
- 12:29Speaker 1: the history of it.
- 12:29Speaker 2: A man.
- 12:33Speaker 3: That you know, I've flowed your determination right there, because
- 12:36Speaker 3: now I was doing the same thing for various other books,
- 12:38Speaker 3: and I've read Milestone, but yeah, stuff.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You I mean even now, like you're not gonna find it.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Like the story where Punisher tells turns himself black because
- 12:47Speaker 1: he wants to crack with lou.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Cage Man, I had to go reread it exactly.
- 12:51Speaker 5: You got to look away.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I do own those comics now thanks to bjkicks. Shout
- 12:55Speaker 1: out to you, thank you for that, sir. But that
- 12:57Speaker 1: is also something I had to eavenly down load because Marble,
- 13:01Speaker 1: when they're not gonna put that, they're never going to
- 13:03Speaker 1: put that up.
- 13:03Speaker 2: See, I was worse stuff.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I read that in real time, Like I walked into
- 13:07Speaker 3: the store, a young black boy into the white owned
- 13:09Speaker 3: store and said, give me the issue or Parnis or
- 13:12Speaker 3: turns black.
- 13:17Speaker 5: You have not read this.
- 13:19Speaker 2: To read this, you're not understanding what we're saying.
- 13:23Speaker 5: I was looking around like am I what am I missing?
- 13:26Speaker 5: Because I was just like that.
- 13:27Speaker 3: White ass Frank Castle gets his stin damage and then
- 13:31Speaker 3: goes to this experimental plastic surgeon who is a cracked smoker.
- 13:36Speaker 3: But she's a but she is a white woman you
- 13:38Speaker 3: know who is smoking cracks.
- 13:42Speaker 2: No, it's like she lost her job because of it.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It was, you know, her license everything, and also because
- 13:49Speaker 3: of her experiments in using melonin or something. I can't
- 13:53Speaker 3: remember me, I don't even know if they mentioned it.
- 13:55Speaker 3: But she turned this man black because he was hiding
- 13:58Speaker 3: out from some mobs her or something.
- 14:01Speaker 1: You gotta dig that machine up, Stephanie. Your next writings
- 14:04Speaker 1: man the machine. Yeah, but she's so existing that in
- 14:08Speaker 1: the continue.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Like, someone needs to write Luke Cage and reference that
- 14:13Speaker 3: time when he ran around with I really hoped you.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Guys are going to say something clever, like on some
- 14:17Speaker 1: tropic thundership. Not Oh, this City on Crack had a
- 14:20Speaker 1: MELLANATD machine and we just just decided to do it.
- 14:24Speaker 3: And it only last three issues. And in those three
- 14:26Speaker 3: issues he runs black. He runs into the yes, of.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Course, like you know, because right now he's black. So
- 14:35Speaker 2: now you got to meet Luke Cage.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Who was like randomly in Chicago. I'm like, okay, why
- 14:42Speaker 1: are you here? Spawn when they you know, get get
- 14:45Speaker 1: yeeted out of New York or some other place they
- 14:47Speaker 1: respawned respon.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Chicago.
- 14:52Speaker 2: He was Tommy from Power before tom.
- 14:56Speaker 5: Respond point b Houston, great something, this is neither here
- 15:07Speaker 5: nor there. I just was very taking a back by that.
- 15:10Speaker 5: But continue, please, well, don't cancel me man like I
- 15:15Speaker 5: turned it.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I can't find the waiting do this.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I don't want to get fuss because I know, like
- 15:22Speaker 1: they just took down what was it read comics online?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Oh well my favorite still. You know, I'm going now
- 15:31Speaker 2: because you know, when I go to you know, allegedly
- 15:36Speaker 2: allegedly you know, that's what I've heard, you know, Yeah,
- 15:41Speaker 2: people have told me. Yeah I heard. Yeah. Hey, I
- 15:45Speaker 2: was just in the store today, you know what I mean.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I picked up the trade for the Odd Life of
- 15:49Speaker 3: the Olive Pedestrian Life for Christopher for payoffs.
- 15:51Speaker 5: I can never read that book.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I love Isaac, but that book is
- 15:55Speaker 3: really great. Yes, yes, and you know behind me, I
- 15:59Speaker 3: have some you know, I an award nominated books right
- 16:01Speaker 3: here for you know folks.
- 16:02Speaker 5: You know, really appreciate you. You see, I didn't bring anything,
- 16:06Speaker 5: but we don't have to, you know.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Because we are here to show people, you know, like
- 16:10Speaker 3: we buy comics here. You know, we don't just create them.
- 16:13Speaker 3: We also bought them, you know, so don't get it twisted.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And you know, and when Stephanie create other creators allowed
- 16:19Speaker 1: me to actually buy the stuff from them because they
- 16:21Speaker 1: tried to this hand.
- 16:22Speaker 5: But I said, no, here's your money. That's steno them
- 16:25Speaker 5: like run somebody down, Like, no, take your money back,
- 16:29Speaker 5: take this money.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I know, but I do want to once again give
- 16:33Speaker 3: you more flowers because the other day I was on
- 16:35Speaker 3: the Pink Riot podcast shout out to them.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Had a great time on Yes, I enjoyed that interview.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Man, they were amazing. Please check them out. I don't
- 16:45Speaker 3: think the episode has dropped yet, but just check out there.
- 16:48Speaker 3: You know, make sure you follow Pink Riot podcasts very dope.
- 16:51Speaker 3: But while I was on their stuff, you know, that's
- 16:53Speaker 3: when I first found out the news live on air
- 16:55Speaker 3: that you had been nominated.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, and so we were, you know, just stressing you.
- 17:00Speaker 3: And I said, one thing that I really want to
- 17:02Speaker 3: say again on here is that you keep it like
- 17:04Speaker 3: pretty much unapologetically.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Black while you're writing your comments, you.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Know, like the I remember when I was reading the
- 17:12Speaker 3: Wonder the Nubia Trade and I had to text you immediately,
- 17:16Speaker 3: like and it was the issue because I think you
- 17:17Speaker 3: told me I was the first person to hit you
- 17:19Speaker 3: about this, and I was like, yo, I know you
- 17:21Speaker 3: just didn't use her name Bea and you make them
- 17:25Speaker 3: wonder woman say be A, Bea like I mean, I'm
- 17:28Speaker 3: done here, you know, and that's.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Just part of the song.
- 17:31Speaker 5: And people are like, you know, is it something like Deep?
- 17:35Speaker 5: Is she named after a guy? A god? Is Is
- 17:37Speaker 5: it like a shortening of Nubia?
- 17:39Speaker 1: Was like, no, it was me thinking about this little
- 17:42Speaker 1: Jihnt song and the East Side Boys and wanting to
- 17:46Speaker 1: just essentially do that.
- 17:49Speaker 5: It's never.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Trying to find you're just as bad as me, because
- 17:55Speaker 3: it's like that's that's the same, that's the same way
- 17:57Speaker 3: I'll write. I'll be like I have this joke that
- 18:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna get off and it might take like, you know,
- 18:04Speaker 3: ten pages to get to that joke, or me creating
- 18:06Speaker 3: all kinds of shit just to get to that joke.
- 18:08Speaker 3: But that's like you created a whole character just.
- 18:11Speaker 2: To give a year.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I was gonna say, this is like us trying to
- 18:13Speaker 1: find Deep meeting and get out, and Jordan Peel's just
- 18:17Speaker 1: like I just did it because I thought it was cool.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Like it's the same approach and that's okay too.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Like I think sometimes the clever is than just just
- 18:28Speaker 1: being direct about as I mean, just saying because you're
- 18:31Speaker 1: unapologetically black, you unapologic black woman. This runs through the
- 18:36Speaker 1: stories that you write, especially when it involves another black woman,
- 18:40Speaker 1: Like that's important. I mean, how how's important to you
- 18:43Speaker 1: to have that freedom to be able to do that
- 18:46Speaker 1: so important? I have been like very fortunate that the
- 18:51Speaker 1: majority of my career as a pro I've been able
- 18:53Speaker 1: to do mostly what I like to do, Like I
- 18:56Speaker 1: haven't had too much pushback, or if I have, I've
- 19:00Speaker 1: been able to find a work around around it because
- 19:02Speaker 1: like I quickly learned, like if you're writing something for
- 19:05Speaker 1: the bigger companies, I'm not gonna fight you about your character,
- 19:09Speaker 1: what I look like by you, about a character whose
- 19:14Speaker 1: creator is going to be credited in the comic that
- 19:16Speaker 1: I am writing.
- 19:17Speaker 5: I'm not doing that. I'm not going to lose sleep
- 19:20Speaker 5: over that. Like I'm not going to do something that
- 19:23Speaker 5: is going to make me lose sleep.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And I haven't had to do anything like that, but
- 19:27Speaker 1: for the most part, like either because the editors don't
- 19:29Speaker 1: catch it because they just don't know, Like what was
- 19:33Speaker 1: it the Bumblebeet and Mouth Duncan's story that I wrote
- 19:36Speaker 1: in Batman Braving the Bull sixteen got them the same
- 19:41Speaker 1: anniversary full bars.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Nobody caught that because who's reading who's editing and who
- 19:48Speaker 5: is the last checks? Are they black? Is anybody black
- 19:51Speaker 5: in the process? One black editor?
- 19:55Speaker 1: He must have signed it and was like, don't say nothing.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Don't say nothing.
- 20:01Speaker 5: He's like, yeah, go right, right right, which is what
- 20:05Speaker 5: you need, right.
- 20:07Speaker 1: But I mean, like I've been able to do that
- 20:10Speaker 1: and like it makes sense for the stories, right, Like
- 20:12Speaker 1: I just don't throw in, you know, random things just
- 20:15Speaker 1: to have it happen, or for the characters say something
- 20:18Speaker 1: that's kind of like out of pocket, just to have
- 20:21Speaker 1: them say something black, unless it fits the.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Story the character, then that's the that's the approach I take.
- 20:28Speaker 1: But like, no, I'm not gonna argue you with you
- 20:30Speaker 1: about what you want to do with your character, no,
- 20:34Speaker 1: because we're enough, you.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Know, true indeed they really aren't.
- 20:38Speaker 3: And that's so that's really intelligent because it's like, like
- 20:41Speaker 3: you said, someone else's name is going to be credited
- 20:43Speaker 3: as the creator, and it's like most of these characters
- 20:46Speaker 3: have been here and will be here.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Afterwards, you know.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Like I take a lot of my writing advice from
- 20:53Speaker 3: Kieren Gillan, and he always says, you know, you got
- 20:55Speaker 3: to put the.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Toys back in the sandbox. So somebody else can play
- 20:58Speaker 2: with them. So yeah, so I mean.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Find the white space where you can to like add
- 21:03Speaker 5: and build or whatever.
- 21:05Speaker 1: But to like, again, are you down with you know,
- 21:09Speaker 1: these big companies about what they're going to do with
- 21:11Speaker 1: their characters.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Maybe it's better things to do outside straight up?
- 21:16Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 21:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And what I've always come to notice about you is that,
- 21:22Speaker 1: like your writing goes across multiple dimensions and even genres
- 21:27Speaker 1: and what been I mean show it as a quadrants.
- 21:32Speaker 5: I think that's a very.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Four quadrants. You know you got to hit all four. Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yeah, And I know that you've said that you do
- 21:41Speaker 1: this out of not wanting to turn down work, but
- 21:43Speaker 1: like at this point, yeah, that's.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Right, or I am trying to.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I wish I did not have the hustle mentality sometimes
- 21:57Speaker 1: because because it's someone granted in me, and this business
- 22:01Speaker 1: is very feasts or famine, right, So it's always that
- 22:04Speaker 1: fear of well, if I say no it is and
- 22:07Speaker 1: don't nothing else come through, then you know this application
- 22:11Speaker 1: I have sitting on the side for home goods, I
- 22:13Speaker 1: can get a discount.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Of candles, gonna have to submit it, so that I'm
- 22:20Speaker 5: getting better about that.
- 22:21Speaker 1: But the other thing is like, because of the way
- 22:23Speaker 1: that the industry is now, like there aren't really any
- 22:25Speaker 1: a lot of ongoings going on. Everything is kind of limited.
- 22:30Speaker 1: You might you might get a one shot, you might
- 22:32Speaker 1: get a four issue, five issue thing.
- 22:36Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Like I try to take as much as I can
- 22:38Speaker 1: one just to get those rep in, those reps in,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and then also to just kind of show like, hey,
- 22:43Speaker 1: I can do a lot of stuff. So call you know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: have your people call me. Let's see if we can
- 22:49Speaker 1: figure it out. Because I was just very scared that
- 22:54Speaker 1: I would only get called for anthologies in February or
- 22:59Speaker 1: you know, more recent and lead Juneteenth and stuff like that,
- 23:01Speaker 1: because like you all have seen this happen and it
- 23:04Speaker 1: is no shortcoming of the creators that have been a
- 23:08Speaker 1: part of these projects, but hardly ever do we see
- 23:12Speaker 1: them go on and do other things and to have
- 23:16Speaker 1: the type of longevity that we've seen with other creators.
- 23:20Speaker 1: So it was just really I just knew, like when
- 23:22Speaker 1: I appeared in Marvel Voyce's Legacy, I was like, Ooh,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I gonna have to go harder in the paint because
- 23:28Speaker 1: you know, just because I've written you know, these two
- 23:32Speaker 1: pages or whatever for this book that doesn't mean that
- 23:34Speaker 1: the doors are gonna blow open. If anything, I'm gonna
- 23:37Speaker 1: have to knock harder and show like I can do more.
- 23:41Speaker 5: And then even with Nubia and doing that, I was scared, like, Okay, well,
- 23:44Speaker 5: they probably gonna gonna call me up when they need.
- 23:46Speaker 1: More black women course corrected or brought back to relevancy.
- 23:51Speaker 5: And of course I want to do that.
- 23:53Speaker 1: But also it's not like they're giving those characters many
- 23:57Speaker 1: opportunities in books.
- 23:58Speaker 5: So that's the other downside to this is not a
- 24:01Speaker 5: lot of black characters that get i don't know, like
- 24:04Speaker 5: the shine.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Like that, like a Batman, Wonder Woman, a Flash, iron Man,
- 24:11Speaker 1: Captain America, all of that. So you really kind of
- 24:15Speaker 1: don't have a choice but to really show your range
- 24:18Speaker 1: if you can, if you would like to get consistent work.
- 24:23Speaker 1: And that's a whole other topic, but it's just an
- 24:26Speaker 1: unfortunate truth. Yeah, And I like that you said that,
- 24:29Speaker 1: and I wanted to explore that further. You kind of
- 24:31Speaker 1: already went into it when you said you have to
- 24:33Speaker 1: knock harder, Like obviously, like you said, showing your range
- 24:37Speaker 1: and all of that, that that's towards that point. But
- 24:39Speaker 1: like I know, like other creators who are in similar
- 24:42Speaker 1: upcoming positions. You know that it's always a grime. So
- 24:46Speaker 1: like when you say not harder, like what what do
- 24:49Speaker 1: you what do you do or what have you done
- 24:51Speaker 1: to just position yourself in a way that that or
- 24:56Speaker 1: as much as you can.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Right there's people open who have the keys. How do
- 25:00Speaker 5: you position yourself to get those opportunities?
- 25:02Speaker 1: I mean really, as when one project is starting, I'm
- 25:06Speaker 1: already thinking of the next thing.
- 25:08Speaker 5: Is that fun?
- 25:09Speaker 1: A lot of times it's not, but it's necessary to
- 25:12Speaker 1: kind of to move in that way because momentum is
- 25:15Speaker 1: another big driver in this industry.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Like you have a book out people.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Your name, your name is in the you know, in
- 25:22Speaker 1: people's minds, they could see you and stuff like that,
- 25:24Speaker 1: including editors. So trying to leverage that into the next thing.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So like, for instance, editor hit me up about my
- 25:32Speaker 1: little pony. Didn't know anything about my little Pony. No,
- 25:35Speaker 1: I didn't know anything beyond Friendship is Magic. And that
- 25:38Speaker 1: was only because my son was watching it at the time.
- 25:41Speaker 1: And then they were bringing in like a new generation.
- 25:43Speaker 5: I knew them kids. Was not gonna give a damn
- 25:46Speaker 5: about the new ponies.
- 25:47Speaker 1: However, I knew that ponies was a big thing for
- 25:51Speaker 1: IDW at the time, and that was a chance for
- 25:54Speaker 1: me to show up and do what it is that
- 25:57Speaker 1: I needed to to show that, you know, hey, to
- 26:00Speaker 1: this editor or just the IDW in general, that she
- 26:03Speaker 1: can make a deadline, she can write a solid story,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and she is going to be at the very least,
- 26:10Speaker 1: you know, good to work with because I'm going to
- 26:12Speaker 1: communicate and I'm going to make sure that I'm not
- 26:15Speaker 1: making anybody else's job more difficult by because I'm not
- 26:18Speaker 1: doing mine. And by doing that, more work came. It
- 26:22Speaker 1: was more my little pony. And then eventually it went
- 26:25Speaker 1: to you know, a couple of Star Trek things. I
- 26:28Speaker 1: think an actor dropped out last minute for it was
- 26:31Speaker 1: the Star Trek celebration of the person time they did that,
- 26:35Speaker 1: and they needed somebody to come in real quick to
- 26:37Speaker 1: write a quick story.
- 26:38Speaker 5: And I'm very.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Fast, like not because I want to be, but sometimes
- 26:41Speaker 1: like you just got to be fast. So I was
- 26:44Speaker 1: able to get that in and then that led to
- 26:47Speaker 1: you know, Heather Intel saying, hey, would you like to
- 26:49Speaker 1: do Star Trek five hundred?
- 26:51Speaker 5: Great? Did that good? Then it went from hey, do.
- 26:55Speaker 1: You have any pitches for Star Trek deviations, we bring
- 26:58Speaker 1: that back and I didn't, but I may made sure
- 27:03Speaker 1: that we can to figure it out, and then that's
- 27:05Speaker 1: when the horror story came. So staying ready and sometimes
- 27:09Speaker 1: taking the work that maybe you're not that passionate about,
- 27:12Speaker 1: but you know that you're going to show up and
- 27:13Speaker 1: do your job so that a Street Sharks comes now.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Like when I got the email for that, I was
- 27:20Speaker 1: I was like, yes, that's my ministry, yes, and I
- 27:25Speaker 1: mean and also letting editors know what it is that
- 27:29Speaker 1: you're interested in, what are the things that you like,
- 27:32Speaker 1: and because it was always vocal about that, like Heather
- 27:35Speaker 1: antos knew that Street Sharks was probably going to be
- 27:37Speaker 1: something that I would be interested in, and I'm thankful
- 27:41Speaker 1: that she, you know, was like, Okay, let's see what
- 27:43Speaker 1: stuff is and it's just.
- 27:45Speaker 5: Grown from there.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Same thing DC Comics are really anywhere where I do work,
- 27:51Speaker 1: you know, I try to let the editors know what
- 27:54Speaker 1: it is that I'm interested in, and then also make
- 27:56Speaker 1: sure that whatever their experience is with me is one
- 27:59Speaker 1: that makes them say.
- 28:00Speaker 5: You know what, let's call her back up.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Because I know I'm gonna sleep well at night because
- 28:05Speaker 1: I know this is to be in on time, because
- 28:08Speaker 1: it's very I mean, I don't know, like it's just
- 28:10Speaker 1: very important and you would be surprised, or maybe you
- 28:13Speaker 1: would not be surprised, just how professionalism sometimes is not
- 28:17Speaker 1: like exists in this space.
- 28:19Speaker 5: So like you do the bare minimum and it just
- 28:21Speaker 5: seems like you are a god sind when really you're
- 28:25Speaker 5: just you just have manners. Look how simple it could
- 28:28Speaker 5: be a lot of white men, you know, because why
- 28:32Speaker 5: are we yelling in comics? I've never been yelled at.
- 28:37Speaker 5: If I ever do, you all will know.
- 28:39Speaker 1: There's just because there's no reason, right, there's like literally
- 28:42Speaker 1: no reason for any type of yelling to be going
- 28:45Speaker 1: on in comics unless somebody is hard of hearing or
- 28:47Speaker 1: we're at a convention.
- 28:48Speaker 5: That's the only way you're gonna hear me.
- 28:50Speaker 1: But we're talking pr not er not saying that this.
- 28:54Speaker 1: You know, it's not serious to an extent, but at
- 28:58Speaker 1: the same time, like no one's life is going to
- 29:02Speaker 1: be in danger if you know, if this comic doesn't
- 29:07Speaker 1: happen or whatever the case is, or whatever notes you
- 29:11Speaker 1: get back like it'll be fine.
- 29:13Speaker 5: It's fiction, baby.
- 29:14Speaker 3: It's like the episode of the Studio when he goes
- 29:17Speaker 3: to the party with all the doctors and surgery and
- 29:20Speaker 3: he's arguing to them that, you know, movies.
- 29:22Speaker 5: Are so important and then dude like no offense, but
- 29:29Speaker 5: no frown down. Yeah, all offense. They didn't give it down.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yeah he deserved all the offense though, Yeah, he really did.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I do have a question like, have you gotten passed
- 29:43Speaker 3: the feeling that you're not worthy of themes? Do you
- 29:46Speaker 3: still have your also syndrome?
- 29:49Speaker 1: So very funny, imposta syndrome did creep up on me
- 29:52Speaker 1: a couple of weeks back. It was really more so
- 29:56Speaker 1: because a series that I was working on panding in
- 29:59Speaker 1: is and I got no no spec for that. It
- 30:03Speaker 1: wasn't a problem of the notes. I think I was
- 30:05Speaker 1: frustrated because I felt like I was like, damn, why
- 30:07Speaker 1: not am I figuring this out? Like what's really going on?
- 30:12Speaker 5: And that wasn't It wasn't the case at all.
- 30:14Speaker 1: It was just the editors trying to make sure that
- 30:16Speaker 1: everything was good before it went to the licenser. So
- 30:19Speaker 1: them just trying to save me the headache took another
- 30:22Speaker 1: crack at it, and God was like, this is great.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Even the licenser, who never gives any type of feedback
- 30:30Speaker 1: that is not negative. It was like I really enjoyed this,
- 30:33Speaker 1: this was excellent, Oh okay. In a week like yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 1: and then I got a lot of I told you so.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And then a week later the eyes of Nomination happened.
- 30:40Speaker 1: So I think if I ever do have imposta syndrome
- 30:43Speaker 1: creep back up, I felt like it should get squashed.
- 30:46Speaker 1: But I don't know, Like for a while I dealt
- 30:49Speaker 1: with that because it's just like, I'm a black woman
- 30:51Speaker 1: in this space, so I shouldn't have impost stensrum because
- 30:57Speaker 1: quite obviously, like I, like, I have to put in
- 31:00Speaker 1: the work. I'm not saying that other people don't, but
- 31:03Speaker 1: I would be very missed to sit here and talk
- 31:06Speaker 1: to y'all, Like, you know, you don't know that I
- 31:09Speaker 1: have to do almost double the work to get half
- 31:11Speaker 1: the things, quite clearly right, So even when impasta syndron
- 31:18Speaker 1: pops up, it's just like why are you here? Like
- 31:21Speaker 1: I am, you know, in front of my computer, you know,
- 31:24Speaker 1: sometimes twelve fourteen hours a day, not as much as
- 31:27Speaker 1: it was in the early beginning, but like I'm putting
- 31:30Speaker 1: in the work, like there's no reason for imposter syndrome
- 31:32Speaker 1: to be here, Like I everything I've done has been
- 31:36Speaker 1: because I've had to fight for it, and not fight
- 31:39Speaker 1: for in a like y'all gonna let me in, but
- 31:41Speaker 1: just just to sit down and write and if the
- 31:45Speaker 1: world is on fire, yes, to like focus in that
- 31:49Speaker 1: way and you know, make folks take notice with the
- 31:53Speaker 1: opportunities that I've had, Like, that's been no easy feat.
- 31:57Speaker 5: I like that you you said that.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I think people missed that when they're having those episodes, right,
- 32:02Speaker 1: because that idea of like you've done the work, You've
- 32:06Speaker 1: done the necessary like recognize that, right and too many times,
- 32:10Speaker 1: especially depending on who you are, your station in life,
- 32:13Speaker 1: you've probably done twice or triple as much as the
- 32:16Speaker 1: next person. So if anything, you should be proud that
- 32:19Speaker 1: you followed through. Like the follow through is the hardest part. Yes,
- 32:23Speaker 1: finishing something is literally that is the hardest part. It
- 32:27Speaker 1: is so easy to come up with ideas, as I've learned,
- 32:31Speaker 1: but then are those ideas actually a story? And then
- 32:35Speaker 1: if they are a story, can you execute that story
- 32:38Speaker 1: in a way that you know makes sense and is
- 32:41Speaker 1: viable enough to be a series and stuff like there's
- 32:44Speaker 1: just so much work that goes into it, Like you
- 32:47Speaker 1: really need to give yourself more credit than just feeling like, oh, well,
- 32:51Speaker 1: you know I'm here.
- 32:51Speaker 2: I guess.
- 32:52Speaker 5: No, you're here because you put in the work.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of putting the work and not putting the work.
- 32:59Speaker 1: What are your thoughts about A? What are your personal thoughts?
- 33:02Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever asked you? What are your
- 33:04Speaker 1: personal thoughts? I see her like touching her head, like lord,
- 33:08Speaker 1: AI cost me my job at the early so we
- 33:11Speaker 1: I mean had beef beforehand?
- 33:13Speaker 5: Yes, so you had beef?
- 33:15Speaker 1: Okay, so yeah, AI, and I will focus the question
- 33:19Speaker 1: more being used in the creative industries you know, obviously
- 33:22Speaker 1: comics stuff like that, but just from a creative capacity.
- 33:24Speaker 1: What are your thoughts about AI? Why would you want
- 33:28Speaker 1: to short change yourself? I guess in the creative process?
- 33:33Speaker 1: Like you know, I don't know, Bennison, Yeah, because like,
- 33:37Speaker 1: why would you want to like short change yourself in
- 33:40Speaker 1: that experience?
- 33:41Speaker 5: And then to use it? Here's the thing, AI, If
- 33:46Speaker 5: you want to be a person that calls it a tool, sure,
- 33:48Speaker 5: that's fine.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Uh, but to use it and then you yourself still
- 33:53Speaker 1: don't have the fundamentals down, like you are only hurting yourself.
- 33:58Speaker 5: And that's wild to me to want to do that, like,
- 34:04Speaker 5: because why are you here? Mm hmm.
- 34:09Speaker 1: I why are you here? You sound like Jocelyn, why
- 34:14Speaker 1: are you here? I had somebody sorry to dog scare
- 34:18Speaker 1: the ship out of I was like, wait over there,
- 34:22Speaker 1: sneeze and I'm sorry, say.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Away, where are you at? Oh? Good? Now.
- 34:28Speaker 3: I had a friend of mine, well I say associate,
- 34:30Speaker 3: cause they were they working in the film industry, and
- 34:33Speaker 3: they were they posted some AI stuff on their Instagram
- 34:36Speaker 3: and I was like, why did you even post this
- 34:37Speaker 3: at all?
- 34:37Speaker 2: You know, it's like some you know, dumblot meme shit.
- 34:40Speaker 2: But I'm just like, this is dumb, and but you
- 34:41Speaker 2: work in this industry.
- 34:43Speaker 3: You're one of the people who people look up to,
- 34:44Speaker 3: so when you start posting this, it becomes normalized, you know.
- 34:48Speaker 2: And it's like and I'm like, don't you see that?
- 34:50Speaker 2: And he's like, man, I see it. I see people
- 34:52Speaker 2: using it in this film in that field. And I'm like,
- 34:54Speaker 2: I don't give a ship what people are using. Like
- 34:58Speaker 2: that doesn't mean you have to do it. He's like,
- 35:00Speaker 2: you know it's BEOUDI for stript research. Then you could
- 35:02Speaker 2: use it just like it.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Phil.
- 35:05Speaker 5: You don't want to research the stuff for some.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Like reading a book was fine, writing was fine. Yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 2: like it's always been fine.
- 35:15Speaker 3: Like that's what the I tad him consessed from studio
- 35:18Speaker 3: on Seth Brogan, Right, he was talking about recently and
- 35:21Speaker 3: I tad dude in it, and I told him, like,
- 35:23Speaker 3: nothing unnecessary is inevitable. That's what I always say about AI.
- 35:27Speaker 3: And whenever people say it's inevitable, and I'm like, it's unnecessary,
- 35:31Speaker 3: So how could it ever be inevitable.
- 35:32Speaker 1: You're trying to force it on me to inevitability, but
- 35:35Speaker 1: it's not naturally inevitable. No, No, because like Google now
- 35:40Speaker 1: you search and like it's trying to talk to you.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I don't want to talk to you representative.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I do not want to talk to you.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Agent life person. Yes, okay, all right, that that's fair.
- 35:53Speaker 1: I mean because that you know, that question does come
- 35:55Speaker 1: up about oh, is it a tool?
- 35:57Speaker 2: Can be useful?
- 35:58Speaker 5: I mean I see it as a lot of different things.
- 36:00Speaker 1: And what you said, actually, what you and what Ben
- 36:02Speaker 1: said just now actually aligns with my concern about it
- 36:05Speaker 1: is especially when you have people who were potentially tightened
- 36:09Speaker 1: in the game.
- 36:10Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Look at Timberland when he started a spousand and co
- 36:16Speaker 1: signing AI and doing this and doing that.
- 36:19Speaker 5: I was just like, where are we?
- 36:22Speaker 1: And as a creative genius, how could you even allow
- 36:28Speaker 1: for that to enter your space and then give credence
- 36:31Speaker 1: to it? And so even though you've never shown that
- 36:33Speaker 1: yourself to be how you feel sappy, I was always curious,
- 36:37Speaker 1: how do you feel about that?
- 36:39Speaker 2: You know?
- 36:39Speaker 5: I just annoyed.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I mean, I honestly haven't really spoke about it because
- 36:43Speaker 1: it's just it's one of those things where I'm just like,
- 36:47Speaker 1: I hate that this exists, but because it does, it's
- 36:52Speaker 1: between that's I mean, on my feed, it's either some
- 36:56Speaker 1: crazy flyer that somebody has made with AI.
- 36:59Speaker 5: Someone talked talking about go back to the Canva regular
- 37:03Speaker 5: campas because I'm at Camva.
- 37:04Speaker 2: All the time.
- 37:07Speaker 5: It's okay, just please yes, But like it's just it
- 37:12Speaker 5: is taken over in all facets and I just I'm
- 37:18Speaker 5: just tired, y'all.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Like I just don't like for a timbling, like sure,
- 37:22Speaker 1: like you have reached this pinnacle in your career and
- 37:26Speaker 1: you using AI might not affect your uh your artistry
- 37:31Speaker 1: in a way of like I don't know, like your
- 37:34Speaker 1: skill because you get all this time because you have
- 37:36Speaker 1: the foundations, Like you said, have the foundation.
- 37:39Speaker 2: But I don't think there anymore. That's I think that's well, yeah,
- 37:43Speaker 2: like not not not not like that, because I think
- 37:45Speaker 2: I know what you're saying.
- 37:46Speaker 3: It really works so much, especially as some of the
- 37:49Speaker 3: produces them. Whenever I see producing, like when I see
- 37:52Speaker 3: his production breakdowns, it's like, oh my god, you're so genius.
- 37:56Speaker 3: But I think he's one of those people who doesn't
- 37:59Speaker 3: feel like he knows what the sound is anymore, and
- 38:02Speaker 3: so he's like, this is the way I find it,
- 38:05Speaker 3: but I don't get it because it's just so bad compared.
- 38:08Speaker 2: To what he used to do.
- 38:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that.
- 38:11Speaker 1: There's a damn ai song that I have been vocal
- 38:14Speaker 1: stemming because of TikTok so it's that phenomenal Black Woman
- 38:18Speaker 1: because it's funny as hell.
- 38:19Speaker 5: It's not funny.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Have you guys heard it?
- 38:21Speaker 5: No, And I'm on Tiktoko all day, So I don't know.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's really just a bunch of I would imagine gen
- 38:30Speaker 1: Z maybe some millennials to saying that their moms and
- 38:33Speaker 1: their grandmothers love this song. If you hear this song,
- 38:37Speaker 1: you will know why. It's giving the picture of the
- 38:40Speaker 1: woman with the fro, but all the beauty queen and
- 38:44Speaker 1: stuff like that is in the hair. It's giving that
- 38:47Speaker 1: is it the stepping in from one year to the
- 38:49Speaker 1: other type energy? You know that's Black Lady, Okay, which
- 38:54Speaker 1: is funny. That's actually a drawing that my friend from
- 38:57Speaker 1: Howard years ago.
- 38:59Speaker 2: But yes, that was made by Howard Night.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Yes, the original picture and then it got it got
- 39:06Speaker 1: cursed in you know those cursed from original.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I'm sorry you don't always win at Howard.
- 39:15Speaker 3: You know that we've been ninety nine percent of the time,
- 39:18Speaker 3: but you know, every now and again we get a idiot.
- 39:23Speaker 1: It was encouragement, but I mean, I guess, my I guess.
- 39:26Speaker 1: My final closing argument is, yes, hurting the environment these
- 39:33Speaker 1: data centers, my light building, high heel, that type stuff.
- 39:38Speaker 1: But if you use if you're using this, and especially
- 39:41Speaker 1: if you're somebody who's using it who doesn't have any
- 39:45Speaker 1: type of foundation and the thing that you're trying to
- 39:47Speaker 1: use it for, I mean, at the end of the day,
- 39:50Speaker 1: you're just hurting yourself absolutely, because if.
- 39:53Speaker 5: It crashes, then what you're gonna do?
- 39:55Speaker 2: What you will.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Readized because and it eventually crashes and it's not available,
- 40:02Speaker 1: what would you do?
- 40:06Speaker 2: I don't you know. I think that's the thing. It's
- 40:08Speaker 2: like people like that who like that or you know,
- 40:11Speaker 2: will are willing to use this.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Type of tool. I can't call it a tool. This
- 40:15Speaker 3: fevery device, this copy and paste device. Don't care about it.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Like you said, you know that's the thing. Stuff Like yes,
- 40:23Speaker 3: and like what Steth said, and I know you feel
- 40:25Speaker 3: the same way.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I love writing, Like it is the illus shit in
- 40:29Speaker 2: the world to me. You know, the fact that it sucks, yes,
- 40:34Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. It's just like it's the process of
- 40:37Speaker 2: it all. Like it's just like the fact that when
- 40:40Speaker 2: I come up with a weird character or anything, any
- 40:43Speaker 2: moment anything, it's just like, oh, that's so cool, you know,
- 40:46Speaker 2: and I'll just sit over, you know, in my head
- 40:47Speaker 2: like laughing at myself, and I'm just like, this is
- 40:50Speaker 2: so much fun. And how would you deny somebody that?
- 40:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean.
- 40:54Speaker 1: And then also like with just comic scripting in general,
- 40:58Speaker 1: because you have limited paine economy, limit pages, and to me,
- 41:04Speaker 1: like it feels like putting together like a puzzle essentially.
- 41:09Speaker 1: So when you finally like figure out that flow, you
- 41:11Speaker 1: get that rhythm, or you read the script back and
- 41:15Speaker 1: it's you know.
- 41:16Speaker 5: You enter the flow state, like that's a great feeling
- 41:18Speaker 5: because you figured it out.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Or if you're stuck or whatever, you go watch something,
- 41:25Speaker 1: go read something, you go outside, whatever, and or you
- 41:29Speaker 1: think about it in the shower, as I often do.
- 41:31Speaker 5: All my great ideas come from showers.
- 41:33Speaker 1: So like you, I don't know something about figuring it out,
- 41:37Speaker 1: solving that problem. Figure it just there's a euphoria that
- 41:41Speaker 1: comes with that. And to rob yourself of that, I mean,
- 41:45Speaker 1: I guess more power to you. But again, like if
- 41:49Speaker 1: this thing did not exist, would you be able to
- 41:51Speaker 1: still do the same job.
- 41:53Speaker 2: It's it's more like would you be able to or
- 41:55Speaker 2: would you want to? And I think that's the.
- 41:59Speaker 5: You would not.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the difference.
- 42:01Speaker 3: It's like like I was watching this video of prints
- 42:02Speaker 3: who is my God, you know in heaven, and he
- 42:06Speaker 3: was like the joy of creating a song? I would
- 42:09Speaker 3: I wish that on everyone, and you know, like I
- 42:12Speaker 3: produced music, I'm like, Okay, now I want to teach
- 42:14Speaker 3: myself piano because I want to be able to create
- 42:17Speaker 3: it in different ways, you know. And it's just that
- 42:19Speaker 3: that thrill of learning new things and just expressing them
- 42:22Speaker 3: as such, like I can't understand and I've had people
- 42:26Speaker 3: be like, why don't you sooner?
- 42:28Speaker 2: And just you know, I'm like, oh.
- 42:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's you your mind, Like why would I want
- 42:35Speaker 3: that when I could learn and really play it myself
- 42:37Speaker 3: and just have that fun Like it's so much I
- 42:41Speaker 3: think suck?
- 42:43Speaker 2: Yeah, right, like I mean, because you know what I mean, like,
- 42:46Speaker 2: suck You're.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Gonna do a short cut and still suck at it?
- 42:49Speaker 1: Because that's crazy, It's very crazy. And I think it's
- 42:52Speaker 1: that's when people have lost the plot. It's like, what
- 42:55Speaker 1: are you more concerned? Are you concerned with being that
- 42:59Speaker 1: title or really being in the process what actually excites you?
- 43:03Speaker 1: Where is your actual passion? Is your passion to say
- 43:06Speaker 1: just to tell people, oh I wrote this, I did that,
- 43:08Speaker 1: but there's no real value to it to you? Or
- 43:12Speaker 1: are you looking to really enrich yourself?
- 43:15Speaker 2: Right? And yes?
- 43:16Speaker 1: And and when I say that, just the people speaking
- 43:18Speaker 1: of like, oh, well, it's gotta be so serious. No,
- 43:20Speaker 1: it could be the dumbest fucking things, But you feel
- 43:22Speaker 1: enriched by it because you created it came from your mind,
- 43:26Speaker 1: it came from nothing, and you you're iterating on it
- 43:30Speaker 1: versus oh, I'm gonna feed it into this machine and
- 43:32Speaker 1: it's just gonna you know, it's still gonna get.
- 43:35Speaker 5: It wrong, and it's gonna get it wrong.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Comic scripting is very hard, uh, screenplay writing, all of
- 43:41Speaker 1: these things are hard.
- 43:42Speaker 5: There's a fluid fluidity to it, there's a cadence to it.
- 43:46Speaker 1: There are things that no matter how hard machines try,
- 43:51Speaker 1: it's just not going to have it there, Like folks
- 43:54Speaker 1: who really create for real, like you can spot it
- 43:56Speaker 1: a mile away. And the thing that is also very
- 43:59Speaker 1: irritating the whole AI thing is because it was trained
- 44:02Speaker 1: on real works. Then we have the AI witch hunts
- 44:05Speaker 1: and stuff going on now, which.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Is all a mess.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I just want to I want to fight everybody. There's
- 44:13Speaker 1: so many other things that, like we all could be doing,
- 44:16Speaker 1: but no. Yeah, gas is how everything everything is?
- 44:22Speaker 5: Everyone everything, get you?
- 44:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the world.
- 44:30Speaker 1: As you wrap up, you you just mentioned something that
- 44:33Speaker 1: was part of one of my last questions. Just you
- 44:34Speaker 1: mentioned screenplays. Are you have any thoughts to move on
- 44:37Speaker 1: to scripts for TV films? I know what's happening. I
- 44:41Speaker 1: already know what's happening stuff, and you don't have to lie.
- 44:43Speaker 5: I'm here.
- 44:44Speaker 1: You got the line of kick it, Craig, I already
- 44:46Speaker 1: know or we only are you and it's okay, Like
- 44:48Speaker 1: you just really prefer to be in comics, like tell me,
- 44:51Speaker 1: so comics is always going to be that homestead, like
- 44:54Speaker 1: that is something that will always do. But I would
- 44:57Speaker 1: be lying to you all if I said I wasn't
- 44:58Speaker 1: interested in the very Lee's doing something in animation, Like
- 45:02Speaker 1: I love animation.
- 45:04Speaker 5: I also love video games too, so either either one
- 45:08Speaker 5: of those.
- 45:09Speaker 1: And like there are some things that are like on
- 45:12Speaker 1: the side that could be happening, And of course with
- 45:15Speaker 1: the eys A nomination, we'll probably get fast tracked, right,
- 45:19Speaker 1: So I just want I want to learn, like I
- 45:22Speaker 1: I thrilled in learning new skills, learning new ways to
- 45:26Speaker 1: tell stories. But no, comics is always going to be
- 45:31Speaker 1: that homestead. I will be seventy years old at the convention.
- 45:36Speaker 1: By then, though, I'll probably be telling all of the tea.
- 45:39Speaker 1: So you might if you're if you're listening right now
- 45:43Speaker 1: and you run conventions, you know when i'm if the
- 45:46Speaker 1: world is still spending, invite me out.
- 45:48Speaker 5: It's gonna be a messy good time because they're gonna
- 45:50Speaker 5: tell everybody's business.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I do have a couple more before we get to
- 45:54Speaker 2: our rap segment One is. I was reading the second
- 45:59Speaker 2: part of your wonder One Run and make sure everyone
- 46:02Speaker 2: go pick that up. It's really just a fantastic two
- 46:05Speaker 2: part story. And you don't have to be reading wonder
- 46:08Speaker 2: Woman at all, you know. I have been reading tom
- 46:10Speaker 2: Kin's Hole Run. Y's cool.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Those two issues are really great. I've actually enjoyed most
- 46:16Speaker 3: of the Kings Run. I'm still reading it, so you
- 46:18Speaker 3: know it's there. But those two issues really really hit me, man,
- 46:22Speaker 3: because especially the second one when they're confronting the villain
- 46:26Speaker 3: and they're talking about how their losses make them strong,
- 46:30Speaker 3: and especially like me because I've I've gone through some
- 46:35Speaker 3: you know, I've had some big wins in the lastew years,
- 46:37Speaker 3: also some you know big l's that you know, some public,
- 46:40Speaker 3: some personal, and so I've often felt that way where
- 46:45Speaker 3: I felt like a failure and things that you know
- 46:50Speaker 3: I've done and everything is my fault basically. Yeah, so
- 46:53Speaker 3: I'm not, I know, but you know it's still you know,
- 46:57Speaker 3: we go through it, and so thank you for that.
- 46:59Speaker 3: And and I also just want to thank you because
- 47:02Speaker 3: you know this is something that mean you know obviously,
- 47:04Speaker 3: but you've been helping me with putting together pitches and
- 47:07Speaker 3: really refining stuff. And it's been very encouraging to me,
- 47:11Speaker 3: you know, because, like I say, I'm one of these
- 47:14Speaker 3: people who, even though I wrote this book and everything
- 47:17Speaker 3: I wrote Jimmy Hedws, Purple Hayes, et cetera, I don't
- 47:21Speaker 3: I'm still on the outside looking in for the most
- 47:23Speaker 3: part at the industry. I don't have all the connections
- 47:26Speaker 3: I know, all the different people.
- 47:27Speaker 2: So it's more like Okay, well, hey I'm here, you know, yeah,
- 47:32Speaker 2: I know, yes, yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 3: And then not having the momentum like you were talking about,
- 47:38Speaker 3: you know, the books two years out and everything. So
- 47:41Speaker 3: it's just I really want to publicly thank you. You know,
- 47:44Speaker 3: I've probably done at the Madion time. I just want
- 47:46Speaker 3: to really, you know, make sure people know how awesome
- 47:48Speaker 3: you are and how much you deserve everything that you're
- 47:51Speaker 3: getting right now.
- 47:52Speaker 5: Thank you. I mean, it's an honor that you even
- 47:55Speaker 5: was like, hey, I got some pitches, would you like
- 47:57Speaker 5: to look at them? Yet?
- 47:58Speaker 3: Oh come on, do you talk stuff like no, no, no, no, no,
- 48:01Speaker 3: all right, let's be real, like it's it's first of all,
- 48:04Speaker 3: it's you answering saying yes is the honor, you know,
- 48:07Speaker 3: like me saying hey, would you look at this. You know,
- 48:10Speaker 3: you're Steph Williams dog like, don't you know, don't like no,
- 48:13Speaker 3: I mean I.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Get that, but like even still like nobody's bigger than
- 48:17Speaker 1: the program, right, and I thoroughly subscribe to that. So
- 48:23Speaker 1: regardless of you know, how high I might climb, Like,
- 48:27Speaker 1: the whole thing is to reach back and also like
- 48:30Speaker 1: to give back to others who have poured into me
- 48:33Speaker 1: at different stages in my career and vice versa.
- 48:35Speaker 5: Like it's a symbiotic relationship. So it's just it's no
- 48:39Speaker 5: problem at all.
- 48:40Speaker 1: I mean again, one of the reasons why I would
- 48:43Speaker 1: love to like have a publishing company myself, so that
- 48:46Speaker 1: I can really platform and you know, give folks who
- 48:51Speaker 1: should be busy, maybe even busier than me, because there's
- 48:56Speaker 1: just the red tape in this business. It's just a
- 49:00Speaker 1: lot of bullshit. Like I read stuff from some folks
- 49:03Speaker 1: sometimes who are like consider upper echelon and up there,
- 49:06Speaker 1: and I see it and I'm just like.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Oh, okay, it's yeah, but that's you know, that's the
- 49:12Speaker 2: that's the business.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the business. I've been going through this since
- 49:15Speaker 3: I was writing in film and TV. It's still it's
- 49:18Speaker 3: always saying you read a script, you're like, damn, how
- 49:20Speaker 3: did this get made?
- 49:21Speaker 2: You know? And you know, but it did. And that's
- 49:24Speaker 2: just the business.
- 49:24Speaker 3: But at the same time, if people are professional, turn
- 49:28Speaker 3: things in, they're nice, all that type of thing matters too.
- 49:30Speaker 3: So I try and do all that as well. And no,
- 49:33Speaker 3: I just that's why I said, I just really want
- 49:34Speaker 3: to thank you, you know, and I do have one.
- 49:38Speaker 3: I guess we'll we'll talk that one.
- 49:41Speaker 5: Oh no, no, no, go ahead, all right.
- 49:43Speaker 2: It is more of a business thing, right.
- 49:45Speaker 3: It's like, because you were talking earlier and I hear
- 49:47Speaker 3: this a lot, like people are like, okay, make sure
- 49:49Speaker 3: you write limited series because no one's getting ongoing anything.
- 49:52Speaker 2: But then it's like, you see something's killing the children,
- 49:56Speaker 2: you know, that is doing I don't know how many yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 2: now how many spin offs? And I enjoy it.
- 50:04Speaker 3: It's a good book, solid great book. But it's like,
- 50:07Speaker 3: that's what I'm saying when people are like, what, so,
- 50:09Speaker 3: which is it, you know, industry? Is it that the
- 50:12Speaker 3: right books aren't being pushed or is it that no
- 50:16Speaker 3: book can handle more than four or five issues?
- 50:19Speaker 2: To me, it feels like it depends.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels I was gonna say it depends and
- 50:25Speaker 1: like really more. And so when I say like no ongoings,
- 50:28Speaker 1: I'm really just referring to the big two. Really, oh yeah, right,
- 50:32Speaker 1: because it's it's.
- 50:33Speaker 5: Limiting what they're going to do or what books are
- 50:35Speaker 5: going to be ongoing.
- 50:36Speaker 1: But as far as like India's concerned, like the sky
- 50:39Speaker 1: is the limit, I think the third pitch I'm working
- 50:43Speaker 1: on for Ignition Press right now or second, I don't know, third,
- 50:47Speaker 1: I've lost count, but I'm like it is limited with
- 50:51Speaker 1: flexibility for an ongoing, Like I would actually really like
- 50:55Speaker 1: this title to be like my ongoing, and I'm working
- 50:59Speaker 1: on something else right now that is probably not probably
- 51:02Speaker 1: it will be an ongoing, So getting into that, and
- 51:06Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that it is probably going to change,
- 51:09Speaker 1: like how I do moving forward with what you know,
- 51:12Speaker 1: things I say yes to or you know how much
- 51:14Speaker 1: I pitch because you got on one going, you got
- 51:17Speaker 1: a pretty consistent check coming in and like that's the
- 51:20Speaker 1: thing working freelance, like you just you could try to
- 51:23Speaker 1: time stuff, but you know how it is chasing people
- 51:25Speaker 1: for it, like a net thirty day turn into a
- 51:28Speaker 1: net sixty.
- 51:29Speaker 5: Folks still sending out.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Paper checks, just all kinds of crazy stuff like you
- 51:34Speaker 1: can be check paper, Yes, paper checks.
- 51:38Speaker 5: Now, I do be excited when I go to the
- 51:39Speaker 5: mailbox and I got a little check in Now, I
- 51:41Speaker 5: do like of course, but I would like to have
- 51:44Speaker 5: it immediately, right, So yes, so like.
- 51:50Speaker 2: What net zero me, but for real, yeah, to gift them.
- 51:59Speaker 3: The person I have is like I've always done this,
- 52:02Speaker 3: Like I'm chasing people for DJ money right now, you know.
- 52:04Speaker 3: So it's like it don't matter what field I'm in.
- 52:07Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I guess I gotta hunt down something
- 52:09Speaker 3: hegro for my money.
- 52:11Speaker 5: You know yeah, And then I'm like, that's not it's
- 52:15Speaker 5: not fun.
- 52:16Speaker 2: It's not It's like I just want a job where
- 52:19Speaker 2: it's not like that hunting down people.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Well I had, I had that, so I was doing
- 52:25Speaker 1: stuff with Amazon Prime Video or whatever like their YouTube channels,
- 52:29Speaker 1: so covering the Boys, covering Invincible. I have yet to
- 52:32Speaker 1: watch the last season of The Boys that still got beef,
- 52:35Speaker 1: And the same thing with the season of Invincible.
- 52:38Speaker 2: I had.
- 52:39Speaker 3: I gave up on that and I just I one
- 52:42Speaker 3: day just want cryptkey that's how you pronounce it, right,
- 52:45Speaker 3: I just need Yeah, I want to sit down because
- 52:48Speaker 3: that's that don't because like you already said everything that
- 52:51Speaker 3: I need to know.
- 52:52Speaker 2: You are a centrist and I can't stand it, Like, yeah.
- 52:56Speaker 5: I heard about that last season.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Well it got me when when he had the aoc
- 53:01Speaker 3: clane blowing up people's heads. That's when I was like,
- 53:03Speaker 3: oh man, you just you know you're both sides are bad. Dude,
- 53:06Speaker 3: you don't care. Yeah, you don't give a ship.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Let's let's get this brap going because I want to
- 53:12Speaker 1: make sure we get this in before Stephanie has to
- 53:14Speaker 1: depart on.
- 53:15Speaker 2: The oh Man, you know, to leave the sand Wood space,
- 53:18Speaker 2: leave the sand woods.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Sandal Woods spaceships so that I can go to bed
- 53:21Speaker 1: because I volunteered for school activity. I can't wait to
- 53:25Speaker 1: be free of the shackles appearance square for the summer,
- 53:30Speaker 1: because what do you mean popsicles with parents on a
- 53:32Speaker 1: wind man? That's right, listen, you take care of your responsibilities.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Your son appreciate you.
- 53:38Speaker 5: For it, and the better. In the meantime, we got
- 53:44Speaker 5: the brap our quick fire question and answer a segment.
- 53:47Speaker 5: Are you ready?
- 53:48Speaker 1: Yes?
- 53:49Speaker 5: Alrighty? First up Magneto, Professor X. Oh Magneto. You know
- 53:55Speaker 5: I hate Professor X still.
- 53:56Speaker 1: You know this.
- 53:57Speaker 5: We know that she called she the first person in
- 53:58Speaker 5: my life for the professor ball headed bitch, and I
- 54:02Speaker 5: appreciate that.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Do you know the song? I had to put uh
- 54:05Speaker 2: Tatiana on the song?
- 54:08Speaker 5: Okay head, yes, thank you.
- 54:11Speaker 2: See I had to put on the ball.
- 54:15Speaker 5: That's a maybe it's a Southern thing.
- 54:17Speaker 2: It's a thing.
- 54:17Speaker 3: It's damn sure it's other thing. Yeah, it's a Southern thing. Boy,
- 54:21Speaker 3: ball headed hose.
- 54:23Speaker 2: What you see?
- 54:24Speaker 5: They call him a chicken hand. I'm with you. I'm like, yeah,
- 54:26Speaker 5: you know what that's too.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he definitely that a papa as we would stay
- 54:31Speaker 3: back in Houston. That's my favorite papa. Look at all
- 54:38Speaker 3: these pappas going to the club. Cage took it back
- 54:44Speaker 3: to my high school Luke Cage or Black Panther Luke Cage.
- 54:51Speaker 1: The deep side is because both the girls can be annoyant,
- 54:55Speaker 1: and I'm just trying to figure out who won't be
- 54:57Speaker 1: less annoyant, who is going to.
- 54:58Speaker 5: Be like, well, who knows which black panther we're talking about.
- 55:02Speaker 2: But if you have read everything, but you've read like
- 55:08Speaker 2: the old nineteen seventies of power Man and Iron Fist,
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yes Man, except I grew up on those. That was
- 55:15Speaker 2: like the one black hero I knew, and.
- 55:19Speaker 1: So like you know, it's a toss up. It's honestly
- 55:23Speaker 1: a toss up. Love them down, but also just heavy
- 55:28Speaker 1: uncle energy sometimes and I think you're the first maybe
- 55:32Speaker 1: like nah, maybe just because he does have money, and
- 55:37Speaker 1: he might be he makes things so annoying, you know,
- 55:40Speaker 1: it does make things a little better, So I take
- 55:42Speaker 1: that back. Okay, okay, vacation the Wakanda would be nice.
- 55:49Speaker 1: So you might be biased on this one, but hey,
- 55:52Speaker 1: this is also a personal answer. Star Wars or Star Trek, oh,
- 55:55Speaker 1: Star Trek, and really more so because I just know more.
- 56:01Speaker 1: I mean, Star Trek was got to be first.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Storm or Misty Night.
- 56:08Speaker 5: Damn not playing nice?
- 56:11Speaker 2: You know that. I just realized how like crucial that is,
- 56:15Speaker 2: that is that's big on you.
- 56:18Speaker 5: So we have to ask that man.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Missy right, you said that like he wasn't sure. I'm
- 56:27Speaker 1: not because it's another hard one, but for good reasons.
- 56:30Speaker 1: But but she and the cut about to yeah, no,
- 56:34Speaker 1: I'll well you.
- 56:36Speaker 5: Never know, you know, will come hunt you down for
- 56:38Speaker 5: the money. H h O.
- 56:39Speaker 3: But yes, miss Missy was another one that was another
- 56:42Speaker 3: early heartbreaker for me, was her when she when her
- 56:45Speaker 3: and Danny Ran were dating and they yeah, yeah, in.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Any medium such as TV, film, comics, what character's death
- 56:55Speaker 1: hurt you the most?
- 56:57Speaker 5: Oh? Can I good my girl, because that was that
- 57:03Speaker 5: was a lot.
- 57:04Speaker 1: That was a lot to this day, to this day,
- 57:08Speaker 1: you can't see without this class. I said, what I thought,
- 57:11Speaker 1: this was a fun movie.
- 57:13Speaker 3: T N T.
- 57:14Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 57:16Speaker 5: They had that repeat? T N T and TVs on repeat.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Now that fucked me up, Like I still to this day,
- 57:24Speaker 1: I have not watched I've been meaning to show my
- 57:26Speaker 1: son that movie.
- 57:26Speaker 5: I'm like, I don't know, but my girl, dad, that's
- 57:31Speaker 5: still hit. This still hits me in my core.
- 57:34Speaker 2: As it should. All right, this is when I want
- 57:37Speaker 2: to know who is your first geek crush.
- 57:41Speaker 5: Oh damn, that's a good one.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Oh my god, I don't know.
- 57:55Speaker 5: I hate you all so much.
- 57:56Speaker 2: I know it wasn't forged, so we know it for the.

- 58:23Speaker 1: for the suicide.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Yes, it's on the ground all right, up. Wow, this
- 58:29Speaker 2: is the last one.
- 58:29Speaker 5: So if you could have any one superpower. What would
- 58:32Speaker 5: it be? Oh teleportation mm hm, so you.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Can get to the parents and popsy, Yes exactly, just
- 58:42Speaker 1: don't want to get in my car.
