- 1:02Speaker 5: Jake Flynn a laundry and Ta ta all here with you?
- 1:06Speaker 5: Has a black T shirt Thursday or it's slimming. We
- 1:11Speaker 5: don't got I can't see a laundra shirt, Camo.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Black shorts one. I don't know roll that.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I had to wear shorts on the camp tour
- 1:24Speaker 5: because we were outside most of it. I hadn't worn
- 1:27Speaker 5: that many pairs of shorts that many days in a
- 1:30Speaker 5: row since I was like nine.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't wear shorts.
- 1:32Speaker 5: I don't wear shorts a lot. Really, it's not a
- 1:34Speaker 5: shorts wear. We know you like the three Engine scene.
- 1:37Speaker 5: We know that about you. It's five. But I just
- 1:40Speaker 5: don't wear shorts, you see, like a little kid when
- 1:43Speaker 5: I wear shorts.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I love shorts, you see. Mike Evans's Anything's wrong.
- 1:47Speaker 6: With pants are way too.
- 1:51Speaker 5: You feel like I love my legs boat and all. Well,
- 1:57Speaker 5: I apparently you don't if you don't like to show
- 2:01Speaker 5: if you got it, flaun it not really, I'm not
- 2:04Speaker 5: trying to fly in front of anybody though, you know,
- 2:06Speaker 5: but like just just shorts. I mean, we live in
- 2:08Speaker 5: South Louisiana. Maybe it's because, like for work, we wore
- 2:12Speaker 5: shorts a lot. I don't know. I don't know what
- 2:13Speaker 5: it is. I said it was me.
- 2:15Speaker 7: I didn't say y'all were wrong, that I was wrong. Yeah,
- 2:17Speaker 7: but I wanted to emphasize how wrong you are.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Really. We have pants on today though.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I thought of you when I saw the show today.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Look at Mike Evan Spence.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Yeah it's Matt shorts. Yeah, does look fine? What's one
- 2:28Speaker 5: of those? He would wear those to do a show
- 2:31Speaker 5: where we're on a couch and cross his legs.
- 2:33Speaker 7: But he's got the leg tats though. Yeah, he's got
- 2:37Speaker 7: the legs sleeve, so basically.
- 2:39Speaker 5: The same thing. I actually want to see you pull
- 2:41Speaker 5: that move where you've got the one leg.
- 2:43Speaker 7: Can you imagine, like last Miles two thousand and six,
- 2:48Speaker 7: we're going full pads today you walk out there with
- 2:51Speaker 7: those shorts.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Absolutely, he would have lost his mind. He got the
- 2:58Speaker 5: audacity to wear those to a practice.
- 3:04Speaker 6: We're gonna run, We're gonna run.
- 3:13Speaker 7: Those are embarrassing at all, lap not because of the link,
- 3:19Speaker 7: but because they're football pants and that is a full
- 3:22Speaker 7: pad practice right there. That's true, that's true.
- 3:27Speaker 5: If not, I'm pretty sire. Is that against another team
- 3:31Speaker 5: or is it just? Yeah? That was That was the
- 3:36Speaker 5: like you're getting after.
- 3:37Speaker 7: It a little bit, and don't like be a rookie
- 3:40Speaker 7: and think like, oh, I want to wear those Mike
- 3:42Speaker 7: Evan pants and come out there. No, you better have
- 3:44Speaker 7: your football pants on with your pads in them, because
- 3:48Speaker 7: you're not Mike Evans.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I'm sorry. Life's not fair. Mike Evans can wear those,
- 3:52Speaker 5: but you cannot.
- 3:54Speaker 7: I learned that quick. Yeah, Like I wouldn't try to
- 3:56Speaker 7: wear Life's not fair anybody in any aspect in life.
- 4:02Speaker 7: You earned, you earn what you get.
- 4:04Speaker 5: There's a totem pull to everything.
- 4:05Speaker 7: And if Mike was to wear biker shorts with three
- 4:10Speaker 7: engine teams as football pants, he can do it.
- 4:14Speaker 5: I got no argument. You gotta get the forty nine
- 4:19Speaker 5: ers away from my team though, because they're bringing that
- 4:22Speaker 5: substation with them to the Chargers YAH center, which so
- 4:30Speaker 5: did they go to practice. No, they're in LA, but
- 4:32Speaker 5: they just brought the bad juju with them. Well, you
- 4:34Speaker 5: know it sits in your DNA, he travels, it travels,
- 4:39Speaker 5: it gets in your cells. I'm aware that radiation. The
- 4:44Speaker 5: Chargers were the worst center plate in the NFL last
- 4:48Speaker 5: year and it wasn't really eving close.
- 4:49Speaker 3: I felt I felt bad yesterday, like when I saw that,
- 4:51Speaker 3: because I was like, they were good, they were good
- 4:54Speaker 3: at led away from being really good a year ago,
- 4:57Speaker 3: and like Tyler Biatti sho is a really good center.
- 5:03Speaker 7: Did you say they were the worst center play in
- 5:04Speaker 7: the NFL last year and it would even close?
- 5:07Speaker 5: Is that a statue track? Quite often? Yeah, I'll I
- 5:10Speaker 5: pull it up and give you like the percentages of it.
- 5:12Speaker 5: I'm not sure if I've ever heard that undered in
- 5:14Speaker 5: like a sentence like that before.
- 5:15Speaker 8: Well, words together, we've never heard put together.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Yeah, you gotta explain this to me. That's pretty easy.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Was it pro football? It's once it's eyeballs. If you
- 5:28Speaker 5: watch the Chargers, you would have I mean not that
- 5:30Speaker 5: you would have, you have no reason to, but I.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Mean then they got Trevor Pinning out.
- 5:35Speaker 5: There for for a time.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah, like traded for him to start him.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Right, Well, that's how bad it was. Okay, Yeah, it
- 5:43Speaker 5: was Trevor pinning next to Austin Deculus, Sir.
- 5:52Speaker 6: Bad center play, Matt, terrible center play.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Just I mean it wasn't even really close. We all
- 5:58Speaker 7: know that the center played for the Charger of the
- 6:00Speaker 7: worst NFL. Not even close.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Like their center graded out like forty one percent their
- 6:07Speaker 5: starting center.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I mean that pretty often.
- 6:10Speaker 7: It's got to be the worst, right, I mean that'd
- 6:12Speaker 7: be like that'd be like third best on the Saints
- 6:14Speaker 7: last year, right.
- 6:15Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, I'm trying to find it.
- 6:21Speaker 8: I mean the Saints Scott rid of their center and
- 6:24Speaker 8: the Chargers used him as their starting center.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Everybody knows it, Matt. Everybody knows every everybody. We've been
- 6:34Speaker 5: talking about it on the streets. You're just you're a
- 6:36Speaker 5: little bit behind where we were already. Nick said it
- 6:39Speaker 5: almost every week.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Remember Jake pulled up the graphic last year and it
- 6:43Speaker 3: was like this guy ranked thirty six the Monk I forgot,
- 6:47Speaker 3: I did teams fiftieth a monk guards. I'm like, okay,
- 6:52Speaker 3: there's you know that's that's very low and like they
- 6:54Speaker 3: were starting players.
- 6:56Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not good anyways. Well here's the hoping and
- 7:02Speaker 5: here's the no more injuries. Here we do it.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, why the hell would you schedule a joint
- 7:10Speaker 3: practice with the forty.
- 7:11Speaker 5: I probably thought they were safe because it was in
- 7:12Speaker 5: LA and San Francisco. But you know, it travels.
- 7:15Speaker 7: That radiation gets in your your cells and then you
- 7:17Speaker 7: have full contact, it transfers.
- 7:19Speaker 6: Yeah, that's how that works.
- 7:20Speaker 3: So it's a it's an airborne is an airbe don't
- 7:23Speaker 3: tell us, don't try to tell us that scientifically.
- 7:26Speaker 6: That's what I just said.
- 7:27Speaker 8: That's how it works. You transfer radiation through contact, full contact. Yea,
- 7:35Speaker 8: the radiation that got in your bones from the substation.
- 7:40Speaker 6: It travels.
- 7:41Speaker 7: People are scared to talk about these and be honish.
- 7:43Speaker 7: I mean he's doing a lot of block in its center, right,
- 7:46Speaker 7: I mean on a hand to hand, they're not social
- 7:50Speaker 7: distancing there. That just gives you a cringe.
- 7:58Speaker 6: Social justice.
- 7:59Speaker 5: I have not heard that. God, that was terrible. That
- 8:05Speaker 5: was so stupid. Spray in my groceries because they told
- 8:09Speaker 5: us we had to where you brought him in the house.
- 8:13Speaker 5: M dumb, God, so dumb.
- 8:21Speaker 9: The movie Idiocracy, Yes, that was us that you put
- 8:26Speaker 9: your mask on when you get in the restaurant, you're good,
- 8:30Speaker 9: you take it off at the table, You're all so.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Good, so fine as a waiter has it on. Like
- 8:41Speaker 5: as y'all know, we didn't miss a day here, like
- 8:44Speaker 5: not one day, not one shows. No again, I can
- 8:48Speaker 5: remember like we you know, we had to have protocols whatever,
- 8:51Speaker 5: and not that we all followed him by any means,
- 8:53Speaker 5: but you know, Handy tried to follow him. He tried,
- 8:56Speaker 5: like he would get so frustrated trying to put a
- 8:59Speaker 5: mask on, and sometimes I gild be sideways and cock eyed,
- 9:02Speaker 5: and y'all know, Handy he gets so mad and he
- 9:05Speaker 5: just like rip it off and just start going off
- 9:07Speaker 5: on it, going a rant. It was so good. Oh
- 9:13Speaker 5: he should make my day.
- 9:14Speaker 6: And Handy feels like somebody that can't put the mask on.
- 9:17Speaker 5: No he couldn't. Yeah, like he objectively like he couldn't
- 9:20Speaker 5: get it on the first time he tried. And y'all
- 9:24Speaker 5: know he's elite at ranting once he goes off. But
- 9:27Speaker 5: it was like every other day, so good. We used
- 9:30Speaker 5: to have big bottles of hand sanitizer everyone, this is
- 9:33Speaker 5: pretty small. How did y'all stay six feet apart. I
- 9:36Speaker 5: sat at that edge and he said it this one. Yeah, yeah, good,
- 9:46Speaker 5: I think we were now. I guess Jordan and Tabob
- 9:49Speaker 5: would have still been doing the morning show too.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it was hanging with Handy and Hester. Yeah, Hester
- 9:56Speaker 3: and Handy.
- 9:59Speaker 5: I don't remember.
- 10:00Speaker 3: It was probably Hester and Handy because you were I
- 10:02Speaker 3: don't already hanging.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 7: Well, to this day, I even saw this is like
- 10:09Speaker 7: maybe two weeks ago. I did see somebody driving around
- 10:13Speaker 7: town on the Interstate in their car.
- 10:16Speaker 6: With a mask, with a mask.
- 10:18Speaker 8: I've seen this by themselves, James, I've seen that, and
- 10:21Speaker 8: I've seen it at airports.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Airports, Okay, I get because I saw that before. I've
- 10:26Speaker 5: seen that for a long time.
- 10:27Speaker 8: Okay, randomly, Like if you're sick for real, for real
- 10:32Speaker 8: and you get on an airplane, I can appreciate you
- 10:35Speaker 8: wearing a mask so I don't get sick.
- 10:36Speaker 6: But if you're just wearing it just to.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Wear it for fashion, yeah, hi fashion.
- 10:42Speaker 8: Wait, do y'all remember when that was all going on.
- 10:44Speaker 8: They were selling masks that were like mesh, like diamonds.
- 10:51Speaker 5: On them or whatever. Yeah, so many people.
- 10:55Speaker 7: There's a lot of people that that made some money,
- 10:57Speaker 7: but there's a lot of people that like lost money
- 10:59Speaker 7: on try like by hand sanitizer and bulk and like
- 11:03Speaker 7: sell it to the masks, like people trying to make
- 11:08Speaker 7: people trying to make hand sanitizer, and like bottling factories
- 11:12Speaker 7: and stuff, and some people.
- 11:14Speaker 5: Got Some people, like somebody with a factory might have dabbled.
- 11:19Speaker 7: I was like, I was watching other people do it
- 11:21Speaker 7: around and I was like, Oh, this this thing is real, sketchy,
- 11:25Speaker 7: real situation.
- 11:26Speaker 5: If there was one person that works here that would
- 11:30Speaker 5: wear a mask while driving, I'm gonna go Marler.
- 11:35Speaker 6: See I don't think so, I'm gonna go Marler. I
- 11:41Speaker 6: mean the one person that I would think doesn't like
- 11:43Speaker 6: T Bob doesn't work here anymore.
- 11:45Speaker 5: Bob would have been my answer. Yeah, T Bob definitely
- 11:48Speaker 5: would have been my answer.
- 11:51Speaker 6: But here I can't think of anybody that I genuinely think.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Somebody said Hunt in the chat that no mm hmm.
- 11:58Speaker 3: No, what would be a lot like handy the whole
- 12:00Speaker 3: thing which is it?
- 12:02Speaker 5: Does it did? Yes? Mm hmm, Brian, No, maybe.
- 12:12Speaker 6: I don't hate that answer.
- 12:14Speaker 10: Yeah, it's Moscona for sure. Yeah, bruh, I just gotta
- 12:25Speaker 10: do these shows.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Bro is error be cold it is. Let me get
- 12:35Speaker 5: to go, because Matt wouldn't want to miss a show though,
- 12:38Speaker 5: you know what I mean from a hospital. Just know
- 12:44Speaker 5: that if we're ever in the hospital, this show is
- 12:46Speaker 5: not coming to you. Sometimes I don't feel like doing
- 12:50Speaker 5: it when I drive in the hospital.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Right, that's like whipping Is anything is anything wrong with men?
- 12:56Speaker 3: We can I whip in and take the stale off.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Guys, I'm sick. I swear to god, it gag the radio.
- 13:01Speaker 6: I just drove by the hospital. Y'all got to go
- 13:03Speaker 6: to National.
- 13:05Speaker 5: I gotta throw it to National. We didn't throw it
- 13:08Speaker 5: to National while I was gone at all. I'm telling you.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Matt came through.
- 13:14Speaker 5: He pulled through, I know, because that's that's his go to,
- 13:17Speaker 5: like quickly. Yeah, I don't think we've ever actually done it.
- 13:21Speaker 8: We see media days. I threw it to National several times.
- 13:25Speaker 8: Oh yeah, several times. And I also came on the
- 13:31Speaker 8: mic several times like.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Hey guys, hey me again. So things aren't going well?
- 13:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you know there was one day where I was
- 13:43Speaker 5: so mad, Like I didn't throw off my head set.
- 13:45Speaker 5: I just like I took it off and like I
- 13:46Speaker 5: gently placed it down, like you know when you're that
- 13:50Speaker 5: mad and you just get up and you walk off
- 13:52Speaker 5: and look, there's nothing I can do, and everybody's frustrated.
- 13:55Speaker 5: But I'm just like, we had this and this lined
- 13:59Speaker 5: up and so fired up for it. Good interviews. Yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 5: who was coming over? Who was he was walking? Well? Well, yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 5: Jared Mitchell. J Mitch was coming on. One of our
- 14:09Speaker 5: teammates who was sitting after.
- 14:10Speaker 6: Kirby just was like, have you ever been to the
- 14:13Speaker 6: College World Series?
- 14:16Speaker 5: Yeah? Once or twice? Uh. Then we having Pete Amill's
- 14:19Speaker 5: going to join us. He was going to give us
- 14:21Speaker 5: some like good b K stuff. He had some good stories,
- 14:26Speaker 5: you know, So we're just gonna laugh about that. I
- 14:28Speaker 5: have a couple of laughs, Yeah, a couple of giggles.
- 14:30Speaker 5: We didn't have any giggles. It's okay, Hey, we got through.
- 14:34Speaker 5: We made it. The magic happened.
- 14:38Speaker 6: I don't know if it was magic through the National
- 14:43Speaker 6: quite a few times for a week.
- 14:45Speaker 7: Almost played the National last football season, and Jake got
- 14:47Speaker 7: all pukey, oh yeah, jerk.
- 14:51Speaker 5: That was Matt's like, I'm not doing this show, but
- 14:55Speaker 5: I'm sorry, y'all don't understand I am not doing it.
- 15:00Speaker 5: I was like doing it on the remote by yourself
- 15:02Speaker 5: compared to being in this room with the wolf pack
- 15:04Speaker 5: is impossible. It's a completely different, absolutely impossible. Well, when
- 15:10Speaker 5: nobody's ever done it, when you're not ready for it,
- 15:13Speaker 5: well I would know even if you could give me
- 15:15Speaker 5: three years to prepare for it. Do you remember when
- 15:18Speaker 5: we used to be nighttime radio and they they were like, Hey,
- 15:22Speaker 5: we feel like this is going well, we're gonna get
- 15:24Speaker 5: you three on the road one to three on Fridays.
- 15:27Speaker 5: You're gonna do it from walk ons. Yeah, we're fired
- 15:30Speaker 5: up because like that was as close to primetime. We
- 15:32Speaker 5: were gonna get it. Yeah, because we were gonna get
- 15:34Speaker 5: like free cheese for us that too. We did and
- 15:37Speaker 5: like the first time out of the gates, something messed
- 15:41Speaker 5: up with the equipment. Yep, first time out of the
- 15:45Speaker 5: gates and it sounded like we were doing the show
- 15:47Speaker 5: from a tin can. Yep. I was so hot.
- 15:51Speaker 7: You are?
- 15:52Speaker 5: You were really mad? I was. I wasn't quite as mad.
- 15:55Speaker 5: Yeah you weren't. I was like, we flipping finally get
- 15:58Speaker 5: like a decent time so lot nothing works. Throw it
- 16:04Speaker 5: to Stephen A. Smith or whoever.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Yeah, International, I know who's playing National Rights? Like I
- 16:09Speaker 6: don't I couldn't tell you what.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Shows sounded bad like people they could hear, so we sounded.
- 16:13Speaker 7: They were like you sound like you're in a tin.
- 16:15Speaker 7: Can I remember that?
- 16:18Speaker 5: Yeah, like the national Yeah, that's when we used to
- 16:21Speaker 5: say like six seven beers during the show.
- 16:23Speaker 3: We should do that again.
- 16:24Speaker 5: We did.
- 16:25Speaker 10: We did.
- 16:26Speaker 7: Oh, it's great, that's two years we were traveling, like
- 16:31Speaker 7: we go two or three years. Yeah, we do it
- 16:34Speaker 7: live like on football Fridays.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Yep, we switch.
- 16:38Speaker 6: You're going to do that this year?
- 16:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not slaming beers at six thirty in the morning.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Why not? Yeah? True, Like it was like Friday, but
- 16:47Speaker 5: three they got they got the Friday and afternoon either
- 16:52Speaker 5: switch with Hunt.
- 16:53Speaker 7: It was it was three in twenty nineteen, which you're yeah,
- 17:00Speaker 7: we're gonna yeah, we're gonna have some fun.
- 17:03Speaker 6: I get it.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Ra Else has got the walk in cooler Matt. You
- 17:06Speaker 3: can go in there, pick out what you.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Want, Bud, you can make like uh Rolse's they have
- 17:10Speaker 6: the thing a TV used to do.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 17:12Speaker 6: They yes, like you can grab a yeah, and you
- 17:17Speaker 6: can just grab whatever cans you want.
- 17:20Speaker 5: The sounds awesome.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Sounds because you can just try whatever you want.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Go into a candy shop.
- 17:31Speaker 6: Correct, fill that little bag up beer. I think.
- 17:40Speaker 7: Anyway, Adam says, I often wonder what would listenership look
- 17:46Speaker 7: like on this show if moscona.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Field in triple triple listenership, I.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Would double the number and then triple that number. It's
- 17:57Speaker 5: ten exit. Now we're back nineteen minutes. Back segment, black
- 18:04Speaker 5: T shirts going to the club. We're not going to club.
- 18:09Speaker 5: We're too old for that. We look slim though. Today.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Let's those push ups. My back's actually heard it today.
- 18:17Speaker 5: That kind of hurt my lap. All right, we'll take
- 18:19Speaker 5: a break more OTV when we come back here live
- 18:21Speaker 5: from the Raise of King Studio. Off the bench, all right,
- 18:24Speaker 5: go to gcop net dot com. Gcop net dot com.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Gulf Coast Office Products, the unquestioned leader in all things
- 18:32Speaker 5: office technology, solutions, customer service. We all know if you
- 18:37Speaker 5: are a business, if you're a university, if you're hospital,
- 18:42Speaker 5: law for it, like doesn't matter. Like if you deal
- 18:44Speaker 5: with documents, you know how important they are. You gotta
- 18:46Speaker 5: have them. You have to have them when you need
- 18:48Speaker 5: It doesn't matter that you need documents. And if you
- 18:52Speaker 5: can't access those documents, well what are you going to
- 18:55Speaker 5: do nothing because you shut down. But when you work

- 20:05Speaker 5: I kept everything inside. I didn't even know what tried
- 20:08Speaker 5: it on the apart what eventure be will eventually be a.
- 20:12Speaker 7: Number radio time, I tried something.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Alright, welcome back, Yeah, oh TV bye, really good voice

- 20:28Speaker 6: I've always said it when you hit that high notes.
- 20:31Speaker 5: False set, though some say songbird of my generation.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure, it's been said, I can't even
- 20:37Speaker 3: look at you right now.
- 20:38Speaker 5: I didn't think so. Feet aren't even touching the ground.
- 20:43Speaker 5: That's because you're on a high school.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Literally, let's give him something that's awful.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Go ahead of fish, thank you, thank you.
- 21:00Speaker 8: Uh.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Yesterday we talked a lot of NFL and Saints and
- 21:05Speaker 5: not as much LSU. Maybe flipping and reversant a little
- 21:09Speaker 5: bit here. Today I talked to you know, AP coaches,
- 21:12Speaker 5: Bowl different things like that. But the one thing for me,
- 21:16Speaker 5: like when I start I started looking at LSU a
- 21:18Speaker 5: little bit more last night, trying to get ready for
- 21:20Speaker 5: the season as far as you know, calling games and
- 21:22Speaker 5: learning names, and there is gonna be so much new
- 21:26Speaker 5: on this football team, and it's gonna be like the
- 21:30Speaker 5: key positions as well. And the exciting thing for me
- 21:35Speaker 5: as I'm sitting there and I'm like, the defense is
- 21:37Speaker 5: gonna look similar in places, but you were so deficient
- 21:42Speaker 5: last year on like the defensive front and it's gonna
- 21:46Speaker 5: be young guys, But I do think defensive tackle is
- 21:49Speaker 5: a position that you can play young. I think running
- 21:52Speaker 5: back defensive tackle are probably two of the ones that
- 21:54Speaker 5: you can play the quickest. So that's exciting because we
- 21:58Speaker 5: saw what Kyle Williams was having to do and what
- 22:00Speaker 5: he had to work with a year ago. Like you
- 22:02Speaker 5: didn't you didn't have pros. Yeah, you know, you okay
- 22:06Speaker 5: players and you got the most out of them, but
- 22:08Speaker 5: you didn't have true pros, Like you didn't have a
- 22:10Speaker 5: ton of It was a talent that was not up
- 22:12Speaker 5: to the standard a defensive line at LSU. And it's
- 22:14Speaker 5: actually it's actually been a while, Yeah it has.
- 22:18Speaker 4: And I guess maybe was the last first round pick
- 22:21Speaker 4: from because even even in nineteen you were good as
- 22:24Speaker 4: a whole, but there was not an I Chase On
- 22:27Speaker 4: in nineteen got drafted in the first round.
- 22:30Speaker 5: I view Kvon a little bit different.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Right because he was that stand up outside backer.
- 22:35Speaker 5: Just talking about when you had Tyson Jackson and you
- 22:37Speaker 5: had Glen Dorsey and Kyle Williams and Claude Roten like
- 22:41Speaker 5: that big fave. I got your bag, bro, Hello, I
- 22:47Speaker 5: got you, bro, I got you. You don't. You han't
- 22:50Speaker 5: had that.
- 22:51Speaker 6: There was adrec estimate.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Me.
- 22:55Speaker 5: You haven't had that in a long time, and that
- 22:57Speaker 5: was like a staple of LSUE. You really well, Like
- 23:00Speaker 5: when you played LSU, you knew they were going to
- 23:02Speaker 5: run the football and they were gonna have first round
- 23:05Speaker 5: picks on the defensive front. And as I'm looking at
- 23:09Speaker 5: it last night, they're young, they got to develop, they
- 23:13Speaker 5: got to grow. They'll get better with each and every game.
- 23:16Speaker 5: But you got multiple guys up there that I think
- 23:20Speaker 5: are Sunday players and going to evolve themselves into what
- 23:25Speaker 5: we've seen for LSU for a very long time. That's
- 23:28Speaker 5: gone away for a very long time.
- 23:30Speaker 7: Yeah, and they're going You're going to see flashes of
- 23:32Speaker 7: them at the first half of the season and they
- 23:35Speaker 7: are going to look, there's gonna be plays you're like, man,
- 23:37Speaker 7: this guy's this guy's incredible. There's a lot of talent,
- 23:40Speaker 7: but there's also gonna be mistakes that they make that
- 23:43Speaker 7: the average watchers not gonna see, like going the wrong way,
- 23:47Speaker 7: slanting the wrong way, doing the wrong thing, not letting
- 23:50Speaker 7: his line, like freeing up his linebacker. Because a lot
- 23:52Speaker 7: of the job of interior defensive line is to not
- 23:55Speaker 7: necessarily make the play, but make the play for somebody else.
- 23:58Speaker 7: Like you take two guys so he is up a linebacker,
- 24:01Speaker 7: you create space, you block a you block a gap
- 24:04Speaker 7: so the running back it takes away clear lane, whatever
- 24:07Speaker 7: it is. So a lot of times, defensive linemen's job,
- 24:10Speaker 7: especially interior defensive line, is a very unselfish position. That's
- 24:15Speaker 7: why they don't That's why you don't really see like
- 24:17Speaker 7: a lot of the like if they make a bad
- 24:19Speaker 7: play doesn't stick out. Now the good plays stick out.
- 24:21Speaker 7: And these guys are talented enough where you're going to
- 24:23Speaker 7: see good plays now. What they have to get to
- 24:26Speaker 7: is more consistent play throughout the game. And like grading
- 24:29Speaker 7: a defensive tackle like on PFF, Like PFF has got
- 24:33Speaker 7: a lot of great tools, and I think the grades
- 24:35Speaker 7: and PFIs is a real good tool to use and
- 24:37Speaker 7: a real good like benchmark to.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Say if like you played well or not.
- 24:41Speaker 7: I think defensive tackle is probably really hard to grade
- 24:44Speaker 7: outside of just like the physical one on one combat
- 24:47Speaker 7: that you have with an offensive lineman because you don't
- 24:49Speaker 7: really necessarily know the scheme on what they were trying
- 24:52Speaker 7: to accomplish on defense, you don't know which way he
- 24:56Speaker 7: was supposed to slant, which way he was supposed to stunt,
- 24:58Speaker 7: and all those different things. So what you're gonna see
- 25:02Speaker 7: is some exciting plays from the defense of the interior
- 25:05Speaker 7: those young guys early. How good they're actually playing within
- 25:10Speaker 7: the scheme is going to be a determined from our standpoint,
- 25:14Speaker 7: but I think it'll get better and better better throughout
- 25:16Speaker 7: the year. Now, if the linebacker's flying around and making
- 25:18Speaker 7: tackles at the line of scrimmage, you know the defensive
- 25:21Speaker 7: tackles are doing really well. Now if they are not
- 25:24Speaker 7: able to make that first contact on running backs in
- 25:27Speaker 7: the running game at the line of scrimmage, they're not
- 25:29Speaker 7: making it until two three yards on the other side
- 25:32Speaker 7: of the ball, do you know they're not doing the
- 25:35Speaker 7: best job that they can.
- 25:38Speaker 5: A lot you said it perfectly, because a lot of
- 25:41Speaker 5: defenses that have what you're talking about. And I kind
- 25:43Speaker 5: of go back to when the Ravens right the best
- 25:46Speaker 5: defense in the NFL. Everybody talked to Ray Lewis, everybody
- 25:48Speaker 5: talked to ed Reid, Terrell Suggs like you should have
- 25:51Speaker 5: Like I get it, But Hellodi Nada made all of
- 25:54Speaker 5: that work. Helodi Nada was the guy right in the middle.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Zero knows that was just eating up eight play and
- 26:01Speaker 5: everybody else was able to make plays they're eating And
- 26:05Speaker 5: you know, Helodi not is a Hall of Famer gets
- 26:06Speaker 5: talked about, but not not when you bring up that,
- 26:09Speaker 5: it's always Ray Lewis, Edrie, Therell Suggs. And then you
- 26:13Speaker 5: get to Hellarai Nod maybe right the Hall of Famer
- 26:15Speaker 5: because people realize what he did.
- 26:17Speaker 7: It's coaches and fellow players that can appreciate it, like
- 26:20Speaker 7: a really good defensive tackle. That's why like Aaron Donald
- 26:24Speaker 7: having the statistics he does at that position is such
- 26:27Speaker 7: a unicorn.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Like that's why we talk so highly of Glen Dorsey.
- 26:31Speaker 7: For Glen Dorsey to flash and shine like as brightly
- 26:34Speaker 7: as he did at defensive tackles really hard to do. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 7: you're gonna you're gonna make good plays and defense tackles.
- 26:41Speaker 7: They're gonna shine every now and then. But it's like
- 26:43Speaker 7: offensive line, like you don't notice them a lot of
- 26:45Speaker 7: times until they mess up. Well, you don't notice the
- 26:46Speaker 7: defensive line a lot until they do something really good,
- 26:50Speaker 7: Like they have to do something special to notice it, right.
- 26:54Speaker 5: But their job if they do it right, and they
- 26:56Speaker 5: are good at it.
- 26:57Speaker 7: It makes the it makes everybody else around them special
- 27:00Speaker 7: and I think you're gonna see glimpses of that.
- 27:02Speaker 5: And we've been missing that at LSU. I think you've
- 27:06Speaker 5: been missing it for a long time. And you've had
- 27:08Speaker 5: five star guys come in, so I know that. So
- 27:11Speaker 5: don't shoot out recruiting rankings. But five stars doesn't mean anything.
- 27:15Speaker 5: On's a ball snap. Who's national chieving last year?
- 27:18Speaker 7: Can't remember Indiana, how many they had to elect of
- 27:21Speaker 7: five stars, didn't they and they didn't have any.
- 27:22Speaker 5: They didn't have one, not one, They did not and
- 27:25Speaker 5: they won the whole thing, the whole thing. Shoot, So
- 27:29Speaker 5: that doesn't really mean anything. Now, you can get talent.
- 27:32Speaker 5: You want to get talent, and that's what they have
- 27:34Speaker 5: this year. But they have the talent mixed with the
- 27:37Speaker 5: mentality of what you have to have to play inside there,
- 27:40Speaker 5: because again what Matt said, it's not glorious, not gonna
- 27:43Speaker 5: get a lot of praise unless you're like superhuman like
- 27:46Speaker 5: Glenn Dorsey was, like Kyle Williams and those guys. But
- 27:50Speaker 5: you got a job to do. You got to go
- 27:52Speaker 5: do it at an elite level. And when you do
- 27:55Speaker 5: it terrifies offenses, just terrifies them because there's nowhere to
- 28:00Speaker 5: skate as a quarterback, can't step up as a running back.
- 28:04Speaker 5: You gotta bounce everything and then you get tackled right
- 28:06Speaker 5: the line of scrimmage by the edge rusher. They are
- 28:09Speaker 5: disruptive and can disrupt a game more than anybody. So
- 28:13Speaker 5: Deucee Gerald's coming in and Lamar Brown coming in. Lamar
- 28:19Speaker 5: can play some edge too, and I'm sure he will.
- 28:21Speaker 5: I'm sure he's gonna bounce back and forth. Richard Anderson
- 28:25Speaker 5: coming in. It's a lot to put on the shoulders
- 28:28Speaker 5: of young guys, but Tata, I mean, you've been out there.
- 28:31Speaker 5: I feel like LSU's going to give them that expectation
- 28:34Speaker 5: of going out there and doing just what we're talking about.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Yeah, Deucee Gerald is gonna start first snap of the
- 28:39Speaker 3: season against Clemsonducee Gerald's will be your starting defensive tackle.
- 28:42Speaker 3: You just go look at the go look at the
- 28:44Speaker 3: reps they're taking. It is Maleague blocked and Dominic McKinley
- 28:48Speaker 3: Anderson stefiling Green. But the one guy that never moves
- 28:51Speaker 3: out of the rotation is deuce Gerald. He was two
- 28:54Speaker 3: hundred and sixty five two undred and seventy pounds when
- 28:56Speaker 3: he got here in the spring, they didn't care. I mean,
- 28:59Speaker 3: Bernard Gooden the position at what to sixty five last
- 29:02Speaker 3: year and did about as good of a job as
- 29:04Speaker 3: he could, I mean, compared to everybody else around him. Now,
- 29:06Speaker 3: Deucee Gerald is going to start for this football team.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Absolutely nothing like first game in college or the interior
- 29:18Speaker 5: of the LSU defense going against Clemson. Looking forward to it,
- 29:21Speaker 5: and again, that's really fun to watch that position, it is,
- 29:24Speaker 5: and also like the edge rushers too. But as I
- 29:26Speaker 5: was looking last night, looking at a couple different things,
- 29:28Speaker 5: like the receiver stuff is exciting, and you got a
- 29:32Speaker 5: lot of receivers, a ton of them, and you're kind
- 29:34Speaker 5: of wondering, Okay, which one's gonna be? Is gonna be
- 29:36Speaker 5: multiple guys, a different guy every game and that's exciting.
- 29:39Speaker 5: But defensive tackles probably where I'm the most excited because
- 29:43Speaker 5: you just haven't been up to the standard up LSU
- 29:45Speaker 5: in a very long time, and you've got multiple people
- 29:48Speaker 5: that are going to be up to that standard in
- 29:50Speaker 5: my opinion, and even blocked in coming over, Like you
- 29:53Speaker 5: talk to guys on the defense, they really like him
- 29:55Speaker 5: as well, So it's not just the three freshmen, it's
- 29:58Speaker 5: also transfers that you brought in. Like Don McKinley was
- 30:02Speaker 5: a starter for this team last year, is in year
- 30:04Speaker 5: three in this program. Yeah, and it was Jacobin Guillory
- 30:07Speaker 5: who I thought he Jacobin got like everything possible out
- 30:12Speaker 5: of what he could give you last year. But I
- 30:15Speaker 5: think this does feel a little bit different. And Don
- 30:18Speaker 5: McKinley was kind of next to him, and right now
- 30:20Speaker 5: when you look at depth charts, you look at practice reports,
- 30:23Speaker 5: like he might be the fifth guy right now. That's
- 30:27Speaker 5: a good thing for LSU. And then now like for
- 30:29Speaker 5: Don McKinley, who's in his third year, that should motivate him.
- 30:33Speaker 5: He's a five star guy, that should motivate him to
- 30:35Speaker 5: try to get back into the starting rotation.
- 30:37Speaker 7: Yeah, we're excited for that play, that talent to improve,
- 30:40Speaker 7: to see how those young guys can come, how fast
- 30:43Speaker 7: they can get into this defense and make very make
- 30:47Speaker 7: big impacts. But I don't think we're as quite as
- 30:50Speaker 7: excited as what Weeks is or TJ Dottery is. I
- 30:53Speaker 7: think those guys are a little bit more excited than
- 30:55Speaker 7: we are because if those defensive tackles can play small
- 31:00Speaker 7: art and be and play up to the talent that
- 31:03Speaker 7: they have. And even as even as young players, our
- 31:07Speaker 7: linebackers are gonna eat. They are going to feast and
- 31:09Speaker 7: make a lot of tackles. If you talk about what
- 31:13Speaker 7: is a what does a garden center do when they
- 31:15Speaker 7: in an inside zone, They got to work up to
- 31:17Speaker 7: the linebacker. They work through the defensive tackle. One person
- 31:19Speaker 7: comes off and takes a linebacker. Well, the good defensive tackles,
- 31:23Speaker 7: they don't let that guard get up to the linebacker,
- 31:26Speaker 7: or they punch him so hard and physical that he's
- 31:29Speaker 7: slow to get there. And those and the fast linebackers
- 31:32Speaker 7: can feed off those defensive tackles. So we're excited, but
- 31:35Speaker 7: I promise you wit Weeks is more excited up.
- 31:37Speaker 5: All right? That defensive tackle report brought to you by
- 31:39Speaker 5: Big Fave. Hello, is it more OTB when we come.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Back off the bench, all right?

- 33:15Speaker 2: Laugh.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Somewhere in this darkness.
- 33:22Speaker 9: There's a line that I can find.
- 33:26Speaker 5: Maybe it's too farrow. Why do I just feel like
- 33:32Speaker 5: we think of living in Paris.
- 33:33Speaker 7: I just feel like a good Saturday is just getting
- 33:35Speaker 7: down the driveway in hand washing a car.
- 33:37Speaker 5: I don't know by.
- 33:41Speaker 6: Washing the car is kind of fun.
- 33:42Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie to.
- 33:45Speaker 7: Most hand car washers per capita in the United States
- 33:49Speaker 7: living in Paris, it's gotta be.
- 33:54Speaker 5: How you doing over there? BU, What are you talking about?
- 33:57Speaker 5: Any good any good ones?
- 33:59Speaker 10: No?
- 33:59Speaker 5: I didn't no good cards, watching some Star Wars breaks,
- 34:04Speaker 5: checking in on you. We are going to get to
- 34:08Speaker 5: the sixteen players that trying to come back to or
- 34:13Speaker 5: at least having about ability professional players to come back
- 34:17Speaker 5: to play college football. We're going to do that at
- 34:19Speaker 5: eight o'clock. I wanted to happen enough where they played
- 34:23Speaker 5: in like some ath league. No, weren't playing the CFA.
- 34:26Speaker 8: I was waiting for you to give the intricate breakdown
- 34:30Speaker 8: of it because I know you know all about it.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 34:35Speaker 6: So I don't know why you're asking questions, right an attorney? Yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 6: it's in your blood from a DNA. Sorry about it
- 34:43Speaker 6: all right?
- 34:44Speaker 5: Yeah. Ever, I mean we've all seen varsity Blues. It's
- 34:51Speaker 5: like you have to be on the show. You know,
- 34:53Speaker 5: the guy that wears his letterman jacket to the party
- 34:57Speaker 5: like years later that hits him.
- 34:59Speaker 3: In the ball, puts the yeah the can on his head.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Want to do the party trick?
- 35:03Speaker 5: Yeah? Just graduate, you know, yeah, absolutely, let it go, bro,
- 35:08Speaker 5: graduate Trinidad are we doing?
- 35:10Speaker 3: We were talking about it. We're talking about it last week, Matt,
- 35:13Speaker 3: because you were like, would it be cringey for me
- 35:14Speaker 3: to wear my college jacket to a game? And I
- 35:17Speaker 3: said no, But the fence sitters at the high school
- 35:19Speaker 3: games they go back with their high school letterman jacket. Awkward,
- 35:23Speaker 3: that's what this kind.
- 35:23Speaker 6: Of Yeah, we were all talking about that.
- 35:25Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I thought that was if I did put
- 35:30Speaker 7: my college letter jacket on and try to go play football.
- 35:33Speaker 5: Back, Yeah, that'd be a little cringey anytime, Like in
- 35:39Speaker 5: the NFL, if you had somebody that would like, you know,
- 35:43Speaker 5: kind of into the season the rookie year, like where
- 35:45Speaker 5: their college gear and the guys just yelling them, hey,
- 35:48Speaker 5: by graduate, you don't play for him anymore. They don't
- 35:51Speaker 5: even know you anymore. It doesn't even go here. That's
- 35:54Speaker 5: what it's what, it's what it feels like. And we'll
- 35:56Speaker 5: talk about it more at eight. So glad to be
- 36:03Speaker 5: in a sport that has rules. Anyways. AnyWho, any Ways,
- 36:10Speaker 5: it is that point in NFL training camp where well,
- 36:14Speaker 5: every time you look, somebody's getting hurt. Not just the
- 36:16Speaker 5: people that played for the forty nine ers or practice
- 36:19Speaker 5: against the forty nine ers. This is like that time
- 36:23Speaker 5: of the year where every veteran free agent that's a
- 36:26Speaker 5: little bit older doesn't have his fastball anymore. He can
- 36:29Speaker 5: still give you some innings out there, but he doesn't
- 36:32Speaker 5: have the ultimate juice. Are starting to get signed. Von
- 36:36Speaker 5: Miller is going to the Cowboys, Najie Harris is going
- 36:39Speaker 5: to the Giants. Just all over the place. We're kind
- 36:43Speaker 5: of starting to see Keenan Allen went to the Colts.
- 36:47Speaker 5: We're starting to see that all over the place there
- 36:49Speaker 5: a little bit. The Saints worked out a couple of receivers,
- 36:53Speaker 5: Chase Claypool being one of them, so it looks like
- 36:56Speaker 5: they might be dipping into the free agent market to
- 37:00Speaker 5: try to add a veteran presence to that room. They
- 37:02Speaker 5: don't want to be called like they were a year ago,
- 37:05Speaker 5: where you have a couple of injuries and all of
- 37:06Speaker 5: a sudden, your young quarterback doesn't have the targets that
- 37:10Speaker 5: he wants to have out there. So the Saints could
- 37:12Speaker 5: be in the market to add a veteran receiver. I
- 37:16Speaker 5: just don't know how much they're willing to spend, because
- 37:19Speaker 5: there's better names out there than the ones that they're
- 37:22Speaker 5: working out. But we also have to look at how
- 37:26Speaker 5: much the New Orleans Saints have to spend, which is
- 37:29Speaker 5: about last time I checked, I think there were like
- 37:31Speaker 5: eleven million dollars right now under the cap, so they
- 37:35Speaker 5: actually are way ahead of where they're typically at. So
- 37:39Speaker 5: they could go add a real weapon, but maybe they
- 37:44Speaker 5: feel like they don't want to add one that's too big,
- 37:46Speaker 5: and then when Jordan Tyson comes back, then you have
- 37:49Speaker 5: a logjam.
- 37:50Speaker 7: I think that they've done a good enough job with
- 37:52Speaker 7: their depth in that room this year, which is weird
- 37:55Speaker 7: to say for the Saints and wide receiver depth, but
- 37:58Speaker 7: I feel like they've done such a nice job, and
- 38:00Speaker 7: we've talked about that. They probably don't feel like they
- 38:03Speaker 7: got to go at a big weapon that's going to
- 38:08Speaker 7: you know it maybe cause this some sort of distraction
- 38:11Speaker 7: if you add a big name. Not necessarily not all
- 38:14Speaker 7: distractions are like negative distractions, but like the you had
- 38:18Speaker 7: a guy like that, he might be there for you know,
- 38:23Speaker 7: one year for sure, but he might command a lot
- 38:26Speaker 7: of attention right and people feel like you got to
- 38:28Speaker 7: work the game plan around that specific person or whatever.
- 38:31Speaker 7: But I feel like they are comfortable with what they
- 38:35Speaker 7: got right now. Yeah, you always work out. It's no
- 38:37Speaker 7: surprise when you bring in veterans to work out, because
- 38:39Speaker 7: there's guys working out every single week for every single
- 38:42Speaker 7: team right now. A lot of them are are undrafted
- 38:45Speaker 7: free agents or young guys still trying to hang on
- 38:48Speaker 7: or make it or get on another roster, get another opportunity.
- 38:51Speaker 7: But a lot of times it is veteran players that
- 38:56Speaker 7: have played for six, seven, eight, nine, ten years and
- 38:59Speaker 7: teams are working them out to see what they got
- 39:01Speaker 7: left in the tank. And just because they don't get
- 39:04Speaker 7: signed immediately doesn't mean they didn't like make a positive impression.
- 39:07Speaker 7: They put them on the list and if there's more
- 39:09Speaker 7: injuries down the road, they have them. They have a
- 39:12Speaker 7: list of guys that they they're tier list of guys
- 39:15Speaker 7: that are available, So working out doesn't mean necessarily they're
- 39:19Speaker 7: trying to to uh sign some money right now. They're
- 39:23Speaker 7: just looking out and trying to make their The scouts
- 39:26Speaker 7: are always be scouting. They're always making them to.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Work out before where the team called like two months
- 39:31Speaker 5: after the fact, like after you worked out, yeah, two
- 39:35Speaker 5: months and they're like, hey, you wanna sign, So that
- 39:38Speaker 5: happens yeah, point yeah.
- 39:39Speaker 3: I mean this is a feeler, Like Chase Claypool hasn't
- 39:41Speaker 3: played since twenty twenty three.
- 39:43Speaker 5: To say it's been a minute. I saw his name
- 39:45Speaker 5: come across the wire and I was like, he's an option.
- 39:48Speaker 3: It's been three years. In twenty three he played in
- 39:54Speaker 3: twelve games.
- 39:56Speaker 5: The year that's been, that's a while, it's a minute.
- 40:00Speaker 7: The year that I signed with the Saints in fifteen,
- 40:03Speaker 7: I came in and worked out like week seven or
- 40:05Speaker 7: eight because Luke McCown had back surgery mid season, and
- 40:08Speaker 7: I worked out and there was probably eleven receivers, two
- 40:14Speaker 7: or three tight ends, and a couple of running backs
- 40:16Speaker 7: all there to run route trees. Yeah, And I was
- 40:19Speaker 7: the only one that got signed out of that workout,
- 40:20Speaker 7: And I was like, did y't just bring all those
- 40:22Speaker 7: poor kids here, like, so I could throw it to them, Like,
- 40:25Speaker 7: what is happening right now?
- 40:26Speaker 5: You're there only a quarterback I was only you had
- 40:28Speaker 5: to throw it to all those people. Yeah, I mean
- 40:31Speaker 5: it wasn't a lot, but like now they were doing
- 40:35Speaker 5: wide receiver drills and they had like a wide receiver
- 40:37Speaker 5: coach throwing to them and and stuff like that. But
- 40:39Speaker 5: it was.
- 40:41Speaker 7: It's not just like you work out one or two
- 40:43Speaker 7: person in a week. It's at every single week you're
- 40:45Speaker 7: working out five to fifteen twenty people.
- 40:47Speaker 5: Yeah, everyone that I ever did was a little bit different.
- 40:51Speaker 5: When I went to Denver to work out, it was
- 40:53Speaker 5: just me. But when I went to Chicago, it was
- 40:56Speaker 5: me and Ryan Grant, And when I went to Detroit
- 40:59Speaker 5: it was me, Rock Cartwright and another running back. And
- 41:02Speaker 5: so like I've been in ones with five, I've been
- 41:04Speaker 5: has just been me. Everything's a little bit different, right, Great,
- 41:07Speaker 5: good guy, except you dame scared to competition. That's a character.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Did choose them too? Yeah, good guy, though? Is he
