- 0:04All right, now get this fish. When Jesus was a boy, he went to
- 0:08church to learn about himself. Why did Jesus have to learn
- 0:13about himself? Wow, fish, that's the same
- 0:17thing? I asked.
- 0:18God, man. So what's the answer?
- 0:21Why should I know I'm not God? Well, going to church is a good
- 0:24way to learn about Jesus. Right.
- 0:26You know, Mary and Joseph took Jesus every year to Jerusalem to
- 0:30celebrate God's goodness. They would have a feast with
- 0:32lots of tamales and enchiladas and tacos and.
- 0:35Wait, they had Mexican food at the Jewish feasts?
- 0:39Well, do you think they had fish food?
- 0:41Never mind. And they had mariachis and all
- 0:45kinds of. What's a mariachi?
- 0:49The band you know, Mariachis. Sorry, continue.
- 0:55Anyway, everybody was singing and dancing and worshipping God
- 0:59for all the good things he had done for.
- 1:00Them sounds like church. I know, right?
- 1:03Only it's not church, because Jesus sneaks away from the feast
- 1:06and goes to the church where they are teaching from God's
- 1:09Word, the Bible. Whoever heard of someone
- 1:12sneaking to church? I mean usually people sneak off,
- 1:16do something bad. OK, maybe he didn't go sneaky,
- 1:19but when the feast was over, nobody knew where Jesus was.
- 1:22You know what that's like, right?
- 1:23Why would I know what that's like?
- 1:25You remember. Remember your little boy got
- 1:28lost that time and ended up in Australia.
- 1:31How? Many times do I have to tell you
- 1:33that wasn't me. That was the clown fish.
- 1:36I'm not a clown fish. I'm a goldfish.
- 1:39Apples, I can't tell the difference.
- 1:40All you guys look the same to me.
- 1:42Just tell us what happened to Jesus.
- 1:45Well, after three days, they finally found him at the church.
- 1:50Three days. Right, three days at Disneyland.
- 1:54Okay, three days at a church. No, it's not about where.
- 1:58I can't imagine not knowing where my kids are for three
- 2:02days. Really.
- 2:04I mean, Australia is a long. Stop it.
- 2:08Well, the point is, Jesus really wanted to learn God's Word.
- 2:12So what's the word for today? Fish.
- 2:14I'm not talking to you. OK, well, I guess we are done.
- 2:18The word for today is teachable, Mark 425 says.
- 2:22Whoever has a teachable heart will be given more
- 2:25understanding. Teach a bull.
- 2:28OK, so the matador is standing in the arena with a red Cape.
- 2:32But hiding in the red Cape is a sword.
- 2:35So when the bull comes charging at the matador, the matador
- 2:38steps aside and bulks the bull with a sword.
- 2:40And after a couple times, well, the bull don't charge too good.
- 2:44That's how you teach a bull. The point is, Jesus was
- 2:47teachable and we should be teachable too.
- 2:50Go to church. Learn God's word.
- 2:55You don't charge too good, man. Really, Paco?
- 3:11Hey man, so get this, Jesus was heading to this homie's house,
- 3:14right? And.
- 3:15Homie's house. OK, his name was Jay Iris, man,
- 3:18I call him a homie. You're the one telling the
- 3:21story. Yeah, well, I'm trying to tell
- 3:23the story. Sorry, I'll be quiet.
- 3:26OK so Jesus was heading to homies house to pray for his
- 3:29miha miha, his little girl, his daughter man because she was
- 3:34sick. Keep going.
- 3:36Well, I'm trying. OK so they were heading to his
- 3:40house to pray when his creado shows up and his servant shows
- 3:45up and says hey you're riding too low and slow home, she's
- 3:49dead. No, no, no, he said.
- 3:53Master J Iris, there is no need to bother Jesus now.
- 3:57Your daughter is dead. I post that's the same thing.
- 4:02Anyways so Jesus looks at Holmes and he says hey Holmes don't be
- 4:06afraid just have faith when they get to the house like everybody
- 4:10is crying and stuff man. So Jesus says he says hey quit
- 4:14your crying. She's only taking a siesta,
- 4:17Holmes. Siesta.
- 4:19She was asleep bro. No, she was really dead.
- 4:23That's the same thing everybody said to Jesus, so he kicked them
- 4:28out of the house. He didn't kick them out, he told
- 4:31them to leave. I Of course he didn't kick them
- 4:34out. But you said he kicked them out.
- 4:37Which everybody but you knows. That means he told them to
- 4:41leave. Oh.
- 4:43Sorry, right? So Jesus tells a little girl to
- 4:46get up, and then she does, and then her abuelita features some
- 4:49menudo. The end.
- 4:52But the ending would have been different if Jay Iris had
- 4:55listened to Fear. Oh well, who is fear?
- 4:58I don't remember him being in the story.
- 5:00Fear was the voice in Jay Iris head telling him that it was too
- 5:04late, that Jesus can heal sick people but he can't heal dead
- 5:08people. So that's why Jesus said do not
- 5:11be afraid. Exactly.
- 5:13He had to be fearless. That's our word for today.
- 5:17Fearless. Luke 850 says don't be afraid,
- 5:20just have faith. So be fearless.
- 5:24Fearless, right? Hey, that reminds me of the time
- 5:27I found a key chain with a rabbit's foot.
- 5:29It was really soft, man. So I walk over to my homes and I
- 5:33tell them all, hey. I say, hey, fearless.
- 5:37And then they would feel it. And they all said it was soft
- 5:39man. Yeah, fearless man.
- 5:42The word is fearless. The rabbit's foot.
- 5:45Look, I got it right here. You want to fearless?
- 5:47Oh. Brother.
- 5:50Hey, why are you leaving? What I say?
- 5:53Come on, man. I want you to feel this.
- 5:57Hey, don't be telling no one. I kicked you out, all right?
- 6:11So one time Jesus was teaching a bunch of peoples and the
- 6:14disciples said to Jesus, Hey Jesus, probably everyone is
- 6:17getting hungry right now, maybe we should send them home for
- 6:20some tamales. Tamales.
- 6:22You know, food, Yeah. So Jesus says to disciples, he
- 6:26says, don't send them home, you give them some comida.
- 6:30Comida. You know.
- 6:32Food. But yeah, so the disciples says
- 6:34to Jesus, they say, what Stelloco that means, are you
- 6:37crazy? So they say to Jesus.
- 6:39They say we don't even have any burritos or nothing, man.
- 6:42Burritos. You know food.
- 6:45So Jesus tells him. He says go look around.
- 6:47Somebody's got to have a torta or something.
- 6:49Torta. You know.
- 6:51Food, right? So they spread out and they find
- 6:54a little boy with some tortillas and pascals.
- 6:57No offense. Let me guess, some food?
- 7:00Yeah, some food. It's just a little boy's lunch,
- 7:04nothing special. No offense.
- 7:06Why would I be offended? Anyways, all they have is a
- 7:10lunch and there's like a million people there.
- 7:13A million. Not a million, like a million.
- 7:16About 5000 men, not counting the women or children now.
- 7:20That's like a million. I know, right?
- 7:23So Jesus takes a boy's lunch and prays over it, and then they
- 7:26pass the food to everybody, and everybody eats until they are
- 7:30full. Everybody.
- 7:31Like a million peoples. 5000 men, not counting women and
- 7:36children. I know, right?
- 7:38And they had 12 baskets full of leftovers.
- 7:41Leftovers. You know, food.
- 7:44I know what leftovers are. I'll bet that little boy was
- 7:47happy that he gave Jesus his lunch.
- 7:49What happy is our word for today?
- 7:522nd Corinthians 97 says God loves a cheerful giver or a
- 7:57happy giver. We can be happy giving to God
- 8:00when we know that God is going to do something miraculous when
- 8:03we give to Him. We can.
- 8:05Think about it, that little boy could have shared his lunch with
- 8:08maybe one or two other people and there would be like a
- 8:12million other people still hungry.
- 8:14But when he gave it to Jesus, Jesus shared it with everybody.
- 8:19You know what would make me happy right now?
- 8:21What? Some tostadas, Frijoles, Chiles,
- 8:23rellenos, tacos, enchiladas. What am I saying?
- 8:29You want some fishy flakes. Fishy flakes.
- 8:32You know, food. What's the matter, fish?
- 8:37Aren't you hungry? I hope you're happy.
- 8:41Be glad you're not some little boy's lunch lunch.
- 8:45And so one day this blind dude was
- 9:00sitting by the road begging. I think his name was Barta.
- 9:03Missed it? Barta missed it.
- 9:06Yeah, you know, because he couldn't see because he was
- 9:08blind. So every time something
- 9:10happened, somebody said, hey, did you see that?
- 9:13And he would say, no, what happened?
- 9:15I'm blind. And they would say looks like
- 9:17Barta missed it. That's not very nice.
- 9:22I know, huh? So one day Barta missed it,
- 9:25hears that Jesus is coming, so he starts yelling really loud
- 9:29and Jesus, can you see me? This story sounds somewhat
- 9:33familiar. And so the people around him
- 9:36told him to be quiet. They said to him, Jesus might
- 9:39not see you sitting there on the ground, but he can hear you a
- 9:41mile away. Coyote.
- 9:44Coyote. That's the be quiet part, only
- 9:48not that nice. So Jesus said he says hey, who's
- 9:50yelling and everybody points to Barta missed it.
- 9:54Only he doesn't know they're pointing at him because he can't
- 9:57see. Barta missed it.
- 10:01That's right. So Jesus says, come on over
- 10:04here. And he does.
- 10:06Who does? Barta missed it.
- 10:08Yeah, but he's blind. I know, huh?
- 10:11But Barta missed it. Gets up and somehow walks over
- 10:14to Jesus and Jesus says, what do you want me to do?
- 10:18And everybody's thinking, just give him some pesos and he'll be
- 10:20quiet. That's what we always do.
- 10:22But Barta missed it. Doesn't ask for pesos, he says,
- 10:26I want to see. So Jesus says your face has made
- 10:31you well. His face.
- 10:33Yeah, I guess he was good looking or something.
- 10:36Wait, I know this story. You have it mixed up.
- 10:40No way it's in the Bible, man. It is in the Bible.
- 10:45It's the story of blind Bartimaeus.
- 10:48When Jesus was walking by, Bartimaeus yelled.
- 10:51Jesus, have mercy on me, not Jesus, can you see me?
- 10:56Well, it sounds like Jesus. Can you see me?
- 10:58And Jesus said your faith has made you well.
- 11:01Not his face. Are you sure?
- 11:04I'm sure Taco, the word for today, is strong because
- 11:07Bartimaeus was strong. He was.
- 11:10Think about it. He yelled for Jesus even after
- 11:13everyone told him to be quiet because he knew Jesus could heal
- 11:17him. Oh.
- 11:18Yeah, most people would have listened to the crowd and
- 11:22stopped yelling. That's right.
- 11:24And when Jesus told him to come to him, he didn't argue and try
- 11:28to say he couldn't because he was blind.
- 11:30He got up and made his way to Jesus.
- 11:33Mark 923 says all things are possible to him who believes.
- 11:38It takes strength to believe. Yeah, 'cause I was thinking that
- 11:42I would have said, are you crazy?
- 11:44Jesus, I can't see. I'm Barta missed it.
- 11:48His name wasn't Barta. Missed it.
- 11:50It was Bartimaeus. Bartimaeus.
- 11:53Now do you see what I meant by you have it mixed up?
- 11:56Yeah, I guess you could say the story of Barta missed it was
- 12:00told by Baco, mixed it, you know, like a DJI mixed it.
- 12:17It's one day Jesus was teaching in the temple and he sees this
- 12:21fajita man. What?
- 12:23A vijita. You know, a grandma, An old
- 12:24lady. Anyways, she was old and bent
- 12:28over. Bent over.
- 12:29Yeah, I think she was looking for something on the ground or
- 12:32maybe she lost her contact. I don't know, man.
- 12:34But she had been like that for like 18 years, man. 18 years?
- 12:39Why didn't she just buy some new contacts?
- 12:42I know, right? Well, maybe she didn't have any
- 12:44money. I I don't know.
- 12:45So, so anyway, Jesus sees her and he says to her, Hey, come
- 12:49over here for a minute. Wait, why didn't Jesus go over
- 12:52to her? See, that's what I thought Maya
- 12:54Willita would have said. If you want me, you come over
- 12:56over here. But this vijita walks over to
- 12:59Jesus, and Jesus says to her, Dear woman, you are healed of
- 13:02your sickness. So she stopped looking for her
- 13:04contacts. So he healed her eyes.
- 13:07Well, I guess so, because she stopped looking on the ground
- 13:10after that. The Bible says she stood up
- 13:12straight. Wait a minute.
- 13:14She wasn't looking for her contact.
- 13:17She was bent over because she was crippled.
- 13:19She couldn't stand up straight. OK, I'll buy it.
- 13:23Don't you see, Paco? Jesus is caring.
- 13:26That's our word for today. Caring.
- 13:28That's why she walked over to Jesus.
- 13:31She could tell he was caring. Caring.
- 13:34You mean like Jesus was carrying something heavy in his arms so
- 13:37he was tired and said come over here because my back is hurting
- 13:40me more than your back is hurting you from bending over
- 13:42all day? No, no, no, not caring, caring.
- 13:47The old lady walked over to Jesus because she could tell by
- 13:51his words when he called her that he cared for her, that he
- 13:54loved her. And Jesus didn't call her old
- 13:57lady like everyone else did. He called her dear woman and
- 14:01then he healed her. Mark 1618 says lay hands on the
- 14:06sick and they will be healed. That's caring.
- 14:09That reminds me of the time I was carrying the groceries for
- 14:12my Mama because I was caring that they were too heavy for her
- 14:16and I was caring for my little sister when I was carrying her
- 14:19home after she fell and hurt her knees.
- 14:21And one one time I was carrying the trash out of the house
- 14:24because I was carrying how bad it smelt what I say.
- 14:29Why do you always leave when I'm trying to talk to you?
- 14:32That's not very caring. Maybe he left because I'm
- 14:35carrying this too far. So one day Jesus is hungry and
- 14:50he sees a fig tree. What's a fig?
- 14:52Tree. It's a tree that grows figs.
- 14:55What's a fig? Man, I don't know, it's like an
- 14:57an apple or maybe a Peach, but it's a fig.
- 15:00Some kind of fruit, huh? I.
- 15:02Guess anyways, so Jesus walks over to the tree to get a fig to
- 15:06eat, but it doesn't have any figs on it.
- 15:08So then Jesus says to the tree, hey, if I can't have a fig,
- 15:11nobody can have a fig from now on, man.
- 15:14What does that? Mean.
- 15:15It's like he said to the tree. You're dead, man.
- 15:17He threatened the tree. It's in the Bible.
- 15:20So then the next day when they walk by the tree, it's laying on
- 15:23the ground dead. And Peter says to Jesus, Jesus,
- 15:27look, the tree is dead. And Jesus says, of course it's
- 15:30dead. I told it to die.
- 15:31Have a little faith in what I say, man.
- 15:33Your words bring death or life. Proverbs, 1821.
- 15:38But that's not all. Then Jesus tells his homies,
- 15:41hey, see that mountain? If you say to that mountain, get
- 15:44out of my way. And you don't think you're crazy
- 15:46for saying it, but you really believe it has to move out of
- 15:49your way because you told it to. It will.
- 15:51It will what? Move.
- 15:53Aren't you listening? Jesus said that whatever you
- 15:55pray for, believing you have it, you'll get it.
- 15:59Do you get it? That's courageous.
- 16:02Courageous. Some people think it's crazy.
- 16:06It's not crazy, it's courageous. That's our word for today.
- 16:11It takes courage to speak to your problems and tell them to
- 16:14go. It takes courage to believe that
- 16:16God in you is greater than any problem in your life.
- 16:20It takes courage to believe that your words have the power of
- 16:23life or death. Well, I guess I'm not
- 16:26courageous. I don't know if I could tell a
- 16:28mountain to jump into the ocean. Well, you have to start small,
- 16:33Paco. Learn to talk to little
- 16:35problems. You know, like being afraid to
- 16:37make new friends. Tell the fear to go away and
- 16:40then go talk to that new kid at school.
- 16:43Or when you start to feel like you might be getting sick, tell
- 16:46the symptom to go. Get it?
- 16:49Instead of telling a mountain to jump into the ocean, tell an
- 16:53anthill to jump in a puddle. Yeah, Puckle, that's good.
- 16:57But you know what I'm really good at?
- 16:58What? Getting a fish to jump in his
- 17:01bowl. Ah, come on, at least give me a
- 17:05chance to tell you to jump before you do.
- 17:09You're not helping me be courageous.
