- 0:06Speaker 1: Ridge Edge.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hi, guys, welcome to another episode of Two Teas in
- 0:15Speaker 2: a Pod with myself and I guess myself.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I am the only.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Host today, but I have a very special guest, Sonya
- 0:21Speaker 2: Richards Ross. Sonia Richards Ross is a retired Jamaican American
- 0:26Speaker 2: track and field athlete who competed internationally for the United
- 0:29Speaker 2: States and the four hundred meter sprint. Her notable accolades
- 0:32Speaker 2: in this event include being the twenty twelve Olympic Champion,
- 0:36Speaker 2: two thousand and nine World Champion, two thousand and eight
- 0:39Speaker 2: Olympic bronze medalists, and two thousand and five World silver medalists,
- 0:43Speaker 2: who with our victory in twenty twelve, she became the
- 0:46Speaker 2: second American woman woman to win the four hundred meters
- 0:50Speaker 2: at the Olympic Games.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I mean pretty much.
- 0:53Speaker 2: This girl can do a lot of things, and most importantly,
- 0:58Speaker 2: she can forgive me for some.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Of the shitty things I've said about her.
- 1:02Speaker 2: On this pod, because all in all, she is an
- 1:04Speaker 2: incredible woman and brings so much to the table, and
- 1:08Speaker 2: she's opening up to us on to Teas in a Pod.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So I am happy to have her as my guest
- 1:14Speaker 2: today to talk about all the things. Okay, Sonya, thank
- 1:17Speaker 2: you so much for joining us, And I have to
- 1:21Speaker 2: start with my first question being a personal related question
- 1:25Speaker 2: in regards to my daughter. So I was just reading
- 1:28Speaker 2: your bio and obviously, I mean, your Olympic story is
- 1:35Speaker 2: just so mind blowing to me. My daughter is ten
- 1:37Speaker 2: years old and she is so into equestrian. She practices,
- 1:44Speaker 2: she you know, we compete, We're going to nationals next week.
- 1:48Speaker 3: It's everything to her.
- 1:49Speaker 2: At what age did you start your Olympic dreams and
- 1:55Speaker 2: what would you say was like the point where you
- 1:59Speaker 2: knew it was actual possibility.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Well, first of all, Teddy, thanks for having me. I'm
- 2:03Speaker 4: super excited to be on. I love your podcast, so
- 2:09Speaker 4: thanks for inviting me. And that's a really good question.
- 2:13Speaker 4: So I started actually competing in track and field when
- 2:16Speaker 4: I was seven. I'm from Kingston, Jamaica, and track and
- 2:20Speaker 4: field is like the most popular sport there, so I
- 2:22Speaker 4: always knew I wanted to be an Olympian. At age nine,
- 2:26Speaker 4: I wrote as my class assignment that I was gonna
- 2:28Speaker 4: be Olympic champion.
- 2:29Speaker 1: So I always had this.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Big dream, but I would say, the time in my
- 2:33Speaker 4: life where I realized it was really possible was when
- 2:35Speaker 4: I turned sixteen and my dad really challenged me to
- 2:40Speaker 4: be great, and I started doing a thousand sit ups
- 2:42Speaker 4: every day, watching film, resting, doing all the things, and
- 2:46Speaker 4: I had a phenomenal senior year and I was like, Okay,
- 2:48Speaker 4: I could definitely be an Olympic champion one day. So,
- 2:51Speaker 4: you know, I would say, somewhere between that range of
- 2:53Speaker 4: like nine and sixteen, I got into that, you know,
- 2:55Speaker 4: full vision that it could be possible, and I just
- 2:59Speaker 4: chased it with everything I read my being.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And how were your parents?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Because I find myself because I wrote all growing up
- 3:06Speaker 2: and I ride still how were your parents as like
- 3:10Speaker 2: the best supporters for you? Because I see myself doing
- 3:13Speaker 2: both things, like I will be either like try to
- 3:16Speaker 2: take a step back and let her just.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Live her dream.
- 3:20Speaker 2: But then sometimes she asked me questions and then I
- 3:23Speaker 2: feel like maybe I get too intense, and I'm like,
- 3:26Speaker 2: how do I support her but also not push her away.
- 3:31Speaker 4: It's a really good question, and I think that my
- 3:33Speaker 4: parents did an excellent job and finding that balance. My
- 3:37Speaker 4: dad was really the one who was always very knowledgeable
- 3:40Speaker 4: and kind of was meeting me where I was at,
- 3:42Speaker 4: and my mom was always my soft place to land.
- 3:44Speaker 4: She was always reminding me that it was just the
- 3:46Speaker 4: sport and I didn't have to find my identity in it,
- 3:49Speaker 4: and she gave me a lot of like you know,
- 3:51Speaker 4: reprieve from the pressure of sports. But I would say
- 3:55Speaker 4: the best parenting I would advice I could give a
- 3:58Speaker 4: parent who has a child who loves like they have
- 4:00Speaker 4: big dreams or potential is to follow their lead. So
- 4:05Speaker 4: I think that if you are in front of them
- 4:07Speaker 4: pulling them towards greatness, it's rarely going to happen. But
- 4:10Speaker 4: if you can inspire them and then they get this
- 4:13Speaker 4: fire burning in them and they want to be great,
- 4:16Speaker 4: and then you meet them with the knowledge, with the
- 4:18Speaker 4: resources all of those things, I think that's a matchmade
- 4:20Speaker 4: in heaven.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But it can't be hard because sometimes you gotta let
- 4:24Speaker 1: them find it for themselves, Like you can't.
- 4:26Speaker 4: You can't want it more than they want it, and
- 4:28Speaker 4: so sometimes you got to, you know, I'll smart them
- 4:30Speaker 4: and find ways to get them inspired and find ways
- 4:33Speaker 4: for them to see that this is a great, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 4: path for them, and then you go full force with them,
- 4:38Speaker 4: you know.
- 4:38Speaker 1: But it has to be them leading the way.
- 4:40Speaker 2: And was there ever a point you thought, I can't
- 4:42Speaker 2: do this anymore, I need to quit, like or this
- 4:45Speaker 2: is too hard or I'm missing out, Like you find
- 4:47Speaker 2: that age like around fifteen sixteen where like kids all
- 4:51Speaker 2: of a sudden want to start partying or want to
- 4:52Speaker 2: start doing this, Like how did you just stay on
- 4:57Speaker 2: the course or did you ever have that moment where
- 4:59Speaker 2: you're like, okay, yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Now you know.
- 5:02Speaker 4: To be honest, at sixteen, that's the only thing I wanted,
- 5:05Speaker 4: Like I was such I was I didn't even care
- 5:07Speaker 4: about boys and none of that stuff, Like it was
- 5:09Speaker 4: all track and field for me. I missed prom, I
- 5:12Speaker 4: went to my state championship was the day of my
- 5:14Speaker 4: problem and start prom the last thirty minutes, you know,
- 5:17Speaker 4: And I didn't care, Like it was like it was
- 5:19Speaker 4: more important to me to win states. So I didn't
- 5:21Speaker 4: have that experience personally. Later in my career, when I
- 5:24Speaker 4: started suffering with injuries and all that kind of stuff,
- 5:26Speaker 4: I had moments where I was like, Okay, I may
- 5:28Speaker 4: need to give it up, But not when I was young.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It was like all I could think.
- 5:32Speaker 3: About it was the fire and how did you meet Ross?
- 5:36Speaker 4: So I met my Haney in college, so I went
- 5:40Speaker 4: to ut right, Yeah, we both went to the University
- 5:43Speaker 4: of Texas.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I was in like, you know, we have like our
- 5:46Speaker 4: our athlete cafeteria, which is like just for the athletes.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And I'm in there and I'm eating and he walks
- 5:52Speaker 1: in and I'm.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Like, dude, his boy. So I called him over and teddy.
- 5:59Speaker 4: The funny story is when he comes over and introduces
- 6:01Speaker 4: himself and he tells me his name, I'm like, oh my, Literally,
- 6:04Speaker 4: the guy I had just broken up with was also Aaron.
- 6:07Speaker 4: So when he told me his name, I was like,
- 6:09Speaker 4: I don't need no more errands in my life.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Bye bye. And I just missed him. I was like.
- 6:15Speaker 4: And then about a week later he reached back out
- 6:17Speaker 4: to me and we started dating, and I was like, oh,
- 6:19Speaker 4: this is my good errand this is the one.
- 6:22Speaker 2: This is the one, And is there any like what
- 6:26Speaker 2: has been the biggest challenge in your marriage to date?
- 6:31Speaker 3: Like was it when you were competing or is it
- 6:33Speaker 3: being a mother.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Or good those are three good moments.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Like when we were competing, I mean, our relationship was
- 6:44Speaker 4: just perfect, I think because you know, we got used
- 6:47Speaker 4: to this rhythm of like not being together and we're
- 6:50Speaker 4: so happy we're together. So that was a really good
- 6:52Speaker 4: time in our marriage. I would say the hardest time
- 6:54Speaker 4: in our marriage when we became parents. I mean, I
- 6:56Speaker 4: think it's because fourteen years of just the two of
- 6:59Speaker 4: us being together there and like figuring it out, and
- 7:01Speaker 4: then boom, like this tornado of a kid comes into
- 7:05Speaker 4: our lives, and you know, I think we both had
- 7:08Speaker 4: different expectations of how we would parent, of how we
- 7:10Speaker 4: would support each other, and I didn't think it was
- 7:12Speaker 4: gonna make it for a little bit.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Like those first like you know, year after having your
- 7:18Speaker 3: first child, you're like shit, Like what did I do?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Like I know, for myself, Like I had really like
- 7:28Speaker 2: you know, I had moments where I felt completely selfless
- 7:30Speaker 2: and I was doing everything for my family. And then
- 7:32Speaker 2: I had moments like my entire identity has just been
- 7:35Speaker 2: taken away and I don't know who the hell I
- 7:38Speaker 2: am anymore, and I feel lost and alone, and the
- 7:41Speaker 2: fact that my partner can't step in and fix these
- 7:44Speaker 2: holes for me would piss me off.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I I feel you. I feel you.
- 7:51Speaker 4: It's like one of those things that nobody really talks about, right,
- 7:54Speaker 4: It's like get married they say, have kids, they say,
- 7:57Speaker 4: but no one prepares you for how how much it can.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Interrupt your marriage.
- 8:01Speaker 4: And so, yeah, Ross and I went through a really
- 8:03Speaker 4: challenging time of figuring out like how to communicate and
- 8:07Speaker 4: how to be there for each other and all the things.
- 8:09Speaker 4: And that's why it took me so long to have
- 8:11Speaker 4: another one. Like people were like, oh, I'm like, we
- 8:14Speaker 4: just barely figured out how we're working with this first one. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 4: I want to put us back in that situation when
- 8:20Speaker 4: it was still really fragile, you know. So that was
- 8:23Speaker 4: a big part of why it took me six years
- 8:25Speaker 4: to get pregnant again. And I have no shame in it.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I wanted to make sure my marriage was healthy and
- 8:30Speaker 4: strong again and we had everything figured out before we
- 8:33Speaker 4: brought another very important person into our into our lives.
- 8:37Speaker 2: No, that makes a lot of sense before we get
- 8:40Speaker 2: into the other items. Do you watch Real Hollswolds Orange
- 8:43Speaker 2: County at all?
- 8:45Speaker 1: I used to watch it more than I watch it now,
- 8:47Speaker 1: So please forgive me. I love y'all. I just you know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I'll be be easy, but I'm gonna get caught up.
- 8:52Speaker 1: How did we do? Did we pass and fail? Y'all's tests.
- 8:54Speaker 1: How do we do? Did you you dissected the blue
- 8:56Speaker 1: the most recent reunion?
- 8:58Speaker 3: You know, I gotta say you looked incredible.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 9:02Speaker 4: I kept it simple and elegant. I said, I ain't
- 9:04Speaker 4: gonna do too much. I don't want to look like
- 9:05Speaker 4: I'm supposed to be like on a field, you know,
- 9:08Speaker 4: like leading a band. Kept it simple, elegant.
- 9:11Speaker 2: There was a lot of feathers for me, which like,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I am not a feathers gal.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yes, and feathers.
- 9:19Speaker 2: A lot of feathers on your personal reunion? Who do
- 9:21Speaker 2: you think was best dressed.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Outside of me? You know who I really liked. I
- 9:27Speaker 4: liked Candy's outfit. I don't know, I don't know how much.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Oh I loved it too.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I love that she.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Just did that simple blue in the middle and it
- 9:34Speaker 4: was kind of like this diamond effect.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So I think I loved her look. Probably you know,
- 9:38Speaker 1: it looks looks good? All right.
- 9:40Speaker 2: So we're here's Orange County looks. This is my girl, Tam.
- 9:43Speaker 2: What are your thoughts? Questions?
- 9:46Speaker 1: Okay? What was the theme? Like?
- 9:47Speaker 4: Is it like you guys feel a little bit more
- 9:49Speaker 4: cash than we were. I think we felt we were
- 9:51Speaker 4: more dressed up than this but.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, this I think is summer sore.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, it's giving, it's giving, Okay, so giving.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I agree, Heather.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I feel like it's always like in standard she's playing
- 10:06Speaker 2: it safe.
- 10:07Speaker 4: She's playing it safe. And if we're gonna be in
- 10:09Speaker 4: a summer smar right, but why are we in black?
- 10:12Speaker 4: I can pick any color and you pick black.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I definitely feel like she played it
- 10:17Speaker 1: safe and it's just like it's given like a sea.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like i'd wear it to like a Gallad school.
- 10:26Speaker 2: This is okay, now, this is Shannon. I feel like
- 10:29Speaker 2: every housewife at this point has worn this dress in
- 10:32Speaker 2: some capacity, including ex housewives like myself, like I wore
- 10:38Speaker 2: but like with the little bra and the undies underneath
- 10:40Speaker 2: what I'm like, a right, the sheer look.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I see what you're saying. Yeah, she had a little
- 10:44Speaker 1: bit more underneath it.
- 10:46Speaker 4: But this is what I say. I like the color,
- 10:48Speaker 4: I like the hair. I feel like she it's a look.
- 10:51Speaker 4: But yees, it's not. It's not unique, it's not fresh.
- 10:54Speaker 2: It's giving Erica Jane hair to me, like it looks
- 10:57Speaker 2: like somebody was like I want to recreate Erica Jane's
- 11:02Speaker 2: hair and this is it. So it's hard for me
- 11:06Speaker 2: to like wrap my head around that. Okay, Emily, I
- 11:11Speaker 2: think it's just okay, it's just okay.
- 11:13Speaker 1: It's to me.
- 11:14Speaker 4: That's also a dress that I would just wear in
- 11:16Speaker 4: like everyday life. It doesn't feel like it's a reunion dress, right.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I think she looks beautiful, but it's not anything over
- 11:23Speaker 2: the top. Like I think her body looks beautiful, her
- 11:27Speaker 2: face looks beautiful, she looks she looks put together, but
- 11:30Speaker 2: there's nothing over the top top.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, well then give it to us.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Make that expression on top of it is real.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Gina came not she didn't come to play, honey.
- 11:51Speaker 1: This is giving sexy summer vibes. I think she pulls
- 11:54Speaker 1: this off. I'm here for it.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I'm here for it too. I like this one. The
- 11:59Speaker 2: expression looks pissed, but I like it. Okay, this is
- 12:03Speaker 2: the newbie jen.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, No, I know it's a miss. It's a miss.
- 12:11Speaker 1: What are we doing with these wings?
- 12:13Speaker 3: What is with the cape?
- 12:15Speaker 1: Like?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Here's the thing, Like she has such a like stunning
- 12:19Speaker 2: physique and she works out all the time.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I can't really see your silhouette at all.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and then I think with the hair down, I
- 12:27Speaker 2: wish the hair was up.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Maybe the hair should have been up or back, like
- 12:31Speaker 1: it's also causing a distraction. Yeah, like this look didn't
- 12:34Speaker 1: come together.
- 12:35Speaker 3: No, not my favorite.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Okay, I think the dress is awesome. I just don't
- 12:49Speaker 2: know that I would have matched the shoes.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And the makeup looks so harsh, like the eyes are
- 12:55Speaker 1: so I actually saw this one on social and I
- 12:58Speaker 1: was like, ooh, the makeup should have been softer.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, why is the makeup the same colors as the
- 13:03Speaker 2: dress and the shoes. It's too much matchy matchy for me.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Too, MATCHI matchie. Yeah, this isn't like you said. I
- 13:10Speaker 1: don't mind the dress and isolation, but a simple shoe
- 13:13Speaker 1: and just softer makeup, maybe different hair. I don't know.
- 13:16Speaker 1: It's just it didn't. It didn't all come together.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I agree. So who's your favorite? You're gonna have to
- 13:21Speaker 3: pick one.
- 13:22Speaker 1: So I would say my favorite was probably one of
- 13:24Speaker 1: the first.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Ones we got, Tamra Shannon, And it definitely wasn't Heather
- 13:33Speaker 2: because she was in the all black.
- 13:35Speaker 1: No, not Heather.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Who was the first one we saw. It might have
- 13:40Speaker 4: been Tamra I have to go back and look, but
- 13:41Speaker 4: I think Tamara was probably my favorite. I think I
- 13:43Speaker 4: can't remember.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Well, guys, you can't even say I'm biased at this
- 13:46Speaker 2: point because she said it, not me, But I think
- 13:50Speaker 2: I think she crashed.
- 13:51Speaker 4: You agree too, Yeah, yeah, I think I think it
- 13:53Speaker 4: might have been Tamra. The other girls could, but nothing great.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I also like to think about comfort because we sit
- 14:00Speaker 2: there for eight hundred and fifty two hours. But speaking
- 14:05Speaker 2: of reunions, how do you feel after your reunion?
- 14:09Speaker 3: Do you think you've said everything you wanted to say?
- 14:12Speaker 2: Because at some points I was like, I need, I
- 14:14Speaker 2: want to hear more from you, and I don't know
- 14:15Speaker 2: if you said more in the moment, and it just
- 14:17Speaker 2: wasn't there.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but what are you saying?
- 14:21Speaker 1: So here's how I felt about it.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I did say more, obviously, every everybody said more.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 4: I mean we should have had a three party reunion
- 14:29Speaker 4: because and I was shocked it was only two because
- 14:32Speaker 4: a lot happened on that reunion stage.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But this is what I'll say.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I felt like the women who I came in with
- 14:39Speaker 4: issues with, I said my piece to them, and I
- 14:41Speaker 4: felt I was very clear right like obviously with the
- 14:43Speaker 4: whole Candy situation.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Our big issue was kind of.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Off camera with she left me off her list. I
- 14:50Speaker 4: left it off off my list.
- 14:51Speaker 3: But there's that on purpose?
- 14:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so she she left me off her list. I
- 14:55Speaker 1: don't know, I mean it was that was she did
- 14:57Speaker 1: that right like?
- 14:58Speaker 4: And so to me, it's like, why if I'm not
- 15:02Speaker 4: in your FAE five and I feel like me and
- 15:03Speaker 4: Candy were really good friends, then why would you be
- 15:06Speaker 4: in mine? I think that there has to be accountability
- 15:09Speaker 4: for what we say, and so I left her off
- 15:12Speaker 4: mine own purpose. Yeah, Like that hurt my feelings when
- 15:15Speaker 4: I heard that she made a list without me, like
- 15:17Speaker 4: I'm currently on the show. And the thing that I
- 15:20Speaker 4: think Candy sometimes forgets is that her words carry.
- 15:23Speaker 1: A lot of weight.
- 15:23Speaker 4: She has a huge audience, and so when you say
- 15:26Speaker 4: something whether there's you know, mumblings on social media and
- 15:30Speaker 4: you double down, it's not a good look.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So yeah, I left her off on purpose, And so
- 15:35Speaker 1: I explained to her. I was like, you don't and
- 15:37Speaker 1: we talked more about it.
- 15:39Speaker 4: And I feel like the difference between me, Teddy and
- 15:41Speaker 4: Lie the girls is that I don't come in trying
- 15:44Speaker 4: to have a big old fight, right, like if you're
- 15:45Speaker 4: gonna fight with me, I'm ready for it. But I'm
- 15:47Speaker 4: not necessarily coming in trying to make it a moment.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I'm trying to really tell you how I feel. And
- 15:53Speaker 4: so I think we had those moments her and I
- 15:55Speaker 4: and Kenny and I where I told Keny how I
- 15:57Speaker 4: felt about her not reaching.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Out to me about the baby situation. So, yeah, you know,
- 16:01Speaker 1: it is what it is.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Like I'm different, yeah, you know, and I think that
- 16:05Speaker 4: a lot of people want me to be that. They
- 16:08Speaker 4: want us to be monolithic, and they want me to
- 16:10Speaker 4: have all these reads and scream and shout and stuff,
- 16:12Speaker 4: and that's just not who I am.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I've never been like that.
- 16:15Speaker 3: And I less it's with your family, right right, right?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Ed, you get it, you know. So it is what
- 16:23Speaker 1: it is. But I thought it was a really good
- 16:24Speaker 1: reunion and I was happy.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I left feeling like I said what I need to say,
- 16:28Speaker 4: and you know, it was it was good.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Well, but speaking of mumblings on social media, you made
- 16:43Speaker 2: a statement on your Instagram after the reboot rumor started, Yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 2: what are your thoughts today? Because they were like implied,
- 16:52Speaker 2: like I saw two different you know posts where they
- 16:55Speaker 2: said this person's coming back. This person isn't blah blah blah, Like,
- 16:58Speaker 2: what are your thoughts today?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Well, I mean I meant what I said right, Like,
- 17:02Speaker 1: nothing has been decided yet.
- 17:04Speaker 3: You know how many weeks posts reunion are we since
- 17:06Speaker 3: y'all filmed?
- 17:08Speaker 4: That's a good question, girl. I don't remember what I
- 17:09Speaker 4: did last week, much less how long that's been. But
- 17:12Speaker 4: what month are we in? Our September? So I feel
- 17:14Speaker 4: like we filmed that in August, so we're like a
- 17:16Speaker 4: month post reunion.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Have you had your pre filming meeting yet?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Nobody has?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Okay, that's because that's I mean, not that that means anything.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I had mine and then I still got the boot,
- 17:29Speaker 2: So like.
- 17:32Speaker 1: No, I just think I think the show is in
- 17:34Speaker 1: a weird spot.
- 17:35Speaker 4: That's there's no denying that, right, Like I think that
- 17:38Speaker 4: the network isn't sure where they want to go. But
- 17:41Speaker 4: what And the only thing that I asked was are
- 17:44Speaker 4: we going to know before the public knows? Because it
- 17:46Speaker 4: was news to me when I read it, so I like,
- 17:49Speaker 4: you know so and they said no, we will know first.
- 17:51Speaker 4: So the reason I made that post was like, stop
- 17:53Speaker 4: everybody putting stuff out there when it's not factual, Like
- 17:56Speaker 4: none of us know what's going to happen with the
- 17:58Speaker 4: show yet, so and that's still the case now, Like
- 18:00Speaker 4: I don't know what's going to happen, you know. I
- 18:02Speaker 4: think they're gonna put us on a little pause while
- 18:04Speaker 4: they figure out the best ensemble for the show.
- 18:07Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, like it's no
- 18:10Speaker 1: one knows yet.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Why do you think the fans had so much criticism
- 18:15Speaker 2: like that it was lacking? And what do you have
- 18:17Speaker 2: to say to this? Like, to me, it honestly felt
- 18:21Speaker 2: and I've said this, I feel like sometimes it feels
- 18:25Speaker 2: like a show to me, more so than some of
- 18:28Speaker 2: the other casts, because it's like someone comes in and
- 18:31Speaker 2: they deliver what they want to fight about. But I
- 18:33Speaker 2: want to see more fun. I want to see less reads,
- 18:38Speaker 2: Like I want to see you guys actually liking one another. Okay,
- 18:42Speaker 2: So then the fights feel more authentic to me, not
- 18:46Speaker 2: just like Marlow digging up shit from years ago that
- 18:48Speaker 2: didn't really upset her but now upset her.
- 18:51Speaker 4: So it's like, yeah, I mean, I certainly understand that.
- 18:55Speaker 4: And I think this is what I think is the
- 18:57Speaker 4: tricky part about the show. If I can be one
- 18:59Speaker 4: hundred percent authentic and clear, is that once upon a
- 19:03Speaker 4: time there were women who were all friends who were
- 19:07Speaker 4: in this Atlanta circle who were on the show, and
- 19:10Speaker 4: then that dynamic changed, right, and obviously they started casting.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Bringing women in to be a part of the show.
- 19:18Speaker 4: And so I think what happens is that as we
- 19:21Speaker 4: are trying to build these authentic friendships, which is what
- 19:24Speaker 4: was my goal coming on the show, really wanting to
- 19:26Speaker 4: meet people figure out where I fit in, the fans
- 19:29Speaker 4: don't really want to give us time to do that.
- 19:31Speaker 4: They want to feel like, y'all, we've been friends for
- 19:33Speaker 4: twenty years, pick aside immediately, and all of those things.
- 19:37Speaker 1: When it's just not the reality of the show anymore.
- 19:40Speaker 4: The show no longer has six women who are from
- 19:43Speaker 4: Atlanta who grew up together, who ran in the same circles.
- 19:46Speaker 1: It's just is not that.
- 19:48Speaker 4: So you give us time to build those kinds of friendships.
- 19:51Speaker 4: And I feel the same way the fans go, I
- 19:53Speaker 4: don't want to come on here and make up a fight.
- 19:56Speaker 4: I want it to be real, and so I think
- 19:59Speaker 4: that sometimes it just that's just gonna take time. And
- 20:02Speaker 4: so the network has a tough decision. Are they going
- 20:04Speaker 4: to reboot the show and find six women who are
- 20:07Speaker 4: great friends in this community or are they going to
- 20:09Speaker 4: continue to give us time to develop those friendships because
- 20:11Speaker 4: I personally now Teddy feel like I know the woman
- 20:14Speaker 4: a lot better and I can speak my piece in
- 20:16Speaker 4: a way that feels authentic and not.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Like you're not just making up check. No, that's exactly exactly,
- 20:21Speaker 3: yes you.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Charay and Marlow got into it on the after show
- 20:26Speaker 2: about Martel not paying for Charret's birthday dinner. Yes, a
- 20:30Speaker 2: lot of fans wish you were more more vocal like
- 20:33Speaker 2: that on the show.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Yes, what made you more vocal after the fact.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Because we're friends now, Like I feel like so Chara,
- 20:41Speaker 4: Marlon and I have developed a really good friendship, So
- 20:44Speaker 4: I feel like I can speak my piece in a
- 20:45Speaker 4: way that feels authentic and not like I'm trying to
- 20:49Speaker 4: get this point across. And so that was a real moment,
- 20:52Speaker 4: and those moments will happen more and more if given
- 20:54Speaker 4: the opportunity to be around these women longer. So the
- 20:57Speaker 4: reality is that wasn't filmed on the show, right we
- 21:00Speaker 4: Sharay invited us as real like as her friends to
- 21:03Speaker 4: come to dinner. This thing happens, and I'm like, girl,
- 21:06Speaker 4: like you know if this were one of us, you
- 21:10Speaker 4: would feel the same way. So I felt comfortable sharing
- 21:13Speaker 4: my truth in that moment. And so, you know, I
- 21:16Speaker 4: think it's just more of what people will see if
- 21:18Speaker 4: I'm giving more time to develop friendships.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And it was just a real authentic moment.
- 21:22Speaker 3: And do you think the producers play favorites?
- 21:24Speaker 2: And I saw that, like the executive producer Eric Fuller
- 21:29Speaker 2: with Marlowe and Chara, and they used proof that he
- 21:31Speaker 2: had favorites and then he posted fans you know, doing
- 21:35Speaker 2: death threats. Did the cast get together before this and
- 21:39Speaker 2: talk about anything or was this all just like posh?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah? No, this was all.
- 21:44Speaker 4: This all was a surprise to us, and I think
- 21:46Speaker 4: for everyone watching who you know, I think. I think
- 21:49Speaker 4: unfortunately Eric got a really bad rap because Eric is
- 21:52Speaker 4: our producer that films with us, but he doesn't do
- 21:54Speaker 4: post production, so he's not responsible for what makes the show, so.
- 21:58Speaker 3: He's in the moment, he's the one. Yea.
- 22:01Speaker 2: So for those of you guys listening, there are producers
- 22:04Speaker 2: that are field producers in the field with you, helping
- 22:08Speaker 2: you navigate what's going on in front of you, right,
- 22:12Speaker 2: But there's also the people behind the scenes you've never
- 22:15Speaker 2: seen exactly.
- 22:16Speaker 4: He's our lead producer in the field, so he's the
- 22:18Speaker 4: one who is with us the whole entire series, filming
- 22:22Speaker 4: with us, and then he hands off the footage to
- 22:25Speaker 4: our post producers, who they then edit the show. So
- 22:28Speaker 4: Eric is not responsible for what goes into the show ultimately,
- 22:31Speaker 4: like he's more responsible about getting the content. As far
- 22:34Speaker 4: as playing favorites, I don't think so. I felt like
- 22:38Speaker 4: a lot of times they try to make the stories
- 22:41Speaker 4: as balanced as possible by showing people's perspectives.
- 22:44Speaker 1: But I guess it just all depends.
- 22:46Speaker 4: On what side you're on and if you wanted more
- 22:48Speaker 4: information from that person. But there certainly is no conversations happening,
- 22:53Speaker 4: you know, behind the scenes or anything like. We're just
- 22:56Speaker 4: as surprised as the finish of the finished product as
- 22:59Speaker 4: the fans are. We see it the thursday before it airs.
- 23:02Speaker 4: No one had that, No one.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Has been What about Kenya getting all upset that her
- 23:07Speaker 2: hair salon wasn't shown.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Yeah, listen, I had a whole project that wasn't shown either. Yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 23:14Speaker 4: So it just I don't feel like I can't like
- 23:18Speaker 4: people have their own experiences. It is what it is.
- 23:20Speaker 4: I'm not gonna come and say she's lying. I don't know,
- 23:22Speaker 4: but all I can tell you is is that the
- 23:24Speaker 4: producers choose the storylines that they think the audience wants to.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and drama hit the fan at all at that event.
- 23:35Speaker 1: At Kenya's event, Yeah, No, there was no drama.
- 23:38Speaker 3: So that's why.
- 23:39Speaker 4: I mean, it was a wonderful event, Like it was beautiful,
- 23:44Speaker 4: shed a wonderful job decorating. We all majority of us
- 23:47Speaker 4: were there. I think only Drew and Marlow were missing.
- 23:49Speaker 4: So it was the majority of the cast there. But
- 23:51Speaker 4: there wasn't like a moment that missing. Well, she didn't
- 23:55Speaker 4: invite Marla, that's for sure. And I think, you know,
- 24:00Speaker 4: this season, Drew had a lot of moments where she was,
- 24:03Speaker 4: you know, like just unavailable, like her and Candy. Candy
- 24:07Speaker 4: was working a lot, but Drew was going through a lot,
- 24:08Speaker 4: so I don't remember.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I don't.
- 24:09Speaker 4: I feel like she was invited because her and Keny
- 24:11Speaker 4: were in a good spot. But for some reason, she
- 24:13Speaker 4: wasn't there when she was filming Candy show, I think,
- 24:17Speaker 4: and so she got off later something.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I think she was filming the show.
- 24:20Speaker 2: How would you feel about fake having sex with somebody
- 24:25Speaker 2: and one of your cast member's bed.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:30Speaker 4: I told Ross I was like, this is super super cringey.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Like I'm like, like, I can't imagine walking into my
- 24:39Speaker 4: room and being like, damn, Drew was in here.
- 24:42Speaker 2: More or less cringey than the serenade at the reunion.
- 24:48Speaker 1: It's a good question.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Oh man, that was That was horrific. Like that was
- 24:54Speaker 4: I think they're on the same level.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Oh gosh, did you watch the movie the Past?
- 25:00Speaker 1: I won't watch it yet, but I I really do
- 25:04Speaker 1: plan to. I really want to. Me and Rosski, so
- 25:06Speaker 1: we're gonna.
- 25:07Speaker 4: Watch it, Teddy, Like you do you have time to
- 25:08Speaker 4: watch it? Like I have all of these things I
- 25:10Speaker 4: need to catch up.
- 25:11Speaker 1: On and watch. But I feel like between my commitments
- 25:14Speaker 1: for work, my family, trying to do all the things,
- 25:16Speaker 1: i'd be like, where is my TV?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:18Speaker 2: I know the fact that I have to watch every
- 25:21Speaker 2: house Wich or I get to watch every Housewife franchise
- 25:26Speaker 2: for work.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Is you know? It is? What it is? My next question?
- 25:30Speaker 3: I'm sorry she drove.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I know that I had times this year where you
- 25:34Speaker 2: may have not topped my favorite.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Okay, wait we came around.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I'll forgive you.
- 25:40Speaker 3: You'll forgive me and listen.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Like I always say, you're only as good as last
- 25:43Speaker 2: week's episode. But somebody that talked you on driving me nuts?
- 25:50Speaker 3: Is Courtney?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Oh what?
- 25:54Speaker 3: Please explain? Is she better in person?
- 25:56Speaker 1: Like?
- 25:57Speaker 2: Is it somebody that once I meet her, I'm gonna
- 25:59Speaker 2: be like, oh I see her redeeming qualities? Yeah?
- 26:03Speaker 4: You know, I hate so I actually really like Courtney.
- 26:07Speaker 4: Like when I first met her, she was super sweet.
- 26:09Speaker 4: I know she was super sweet. She still is.
- 26:13Speaker 1: She checks on me all the time she has, you know,
- 26:15Speaker 1: this drive.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Does it feel authentic or does it feel like she
- 26:18Speaker 2: checks on you because she wants to be on the
- 26:20Speaker 2: show again?
- 26:21Speaker 1: No? No, no, one hundred percent authentic. Like I feel like.
- 26:27Speaker 4: I think I think the hard part about the show, Teddy,
- 26:29Speaker 4: and I know you can you know, relate to this
- 26:32Speaker 4: and understand is it's like it's like you can't win
- 26:35Speaker 4: for losing. No matter if you're come in strong or
- 26:37Speaker 4: you come in a little bit softer, people still have
- 26:40Speaker 4: other expectations of you. And so when she came in,
- 26:43Speaker 4: she had a gripe with Candy. Now, I mean, would
- 26:47Speaker 4: I've handled it that way? Obviously not. You guys know
- 26:51Speaker 4: my personality wouldn't have happened that way. But do I
- 26:54Speaker 4: see her perspective and respect her strength for stepping up
- 26:58Speaker 4: and saying how she felt.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I do you know what I mean?
- 27:00Speaker 4: And I feel like she just was always willing to
- 27:03Speaker 4: share her POV. She wasn't willing to be pushed around,
- 27:06Speaker 4: even by the OG's on the show. And it comes
- 27:09Speaker 4: across as though she's trying super hard. But to be honest,
- 27:12Speaker 4: I don't feel like she really cares that much. She's
- 27:14Speaker 4: just like speaking her piece.
- 27:16Speaker 3: She's almost in like fight or flight exactly. But what
- 27:20Speaker 3: gave me the ick?
- 27:21Speaker 2: Like I was still like I was giving her the
- 27:24Speaker 2: benefit of the doubt. But the relationship that was shown
- 27:29Speaker 2: in that dressing room between Ralph and Courtney, I don't
- 27:35Speaker 2: know if I saw that shit going down with my
- 27:38Speaker 2: husband and another woman on my show, regardless if they
- 27:42Speaker 2: are cousins, right right, right or not?
- 27:45Speaker 3: It felt intimate in a different way.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't love it either. When I watched it,
- 27:50Speaker 4: I was like, ooh, the hook felt a little bit.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And then and then obviously the you know, the whole
- 27:56Speaker 4: I think where Courtney has gone wrong and I can
- 27:59Speaker 4: see that I've probably got I've done this in off
- 28:02Speaker 4: camera on other friendships. I think she has inserted herself
- 28:05Speaker 4: too much in this relationship.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I think she doesn't know enough.
- 28:09Speaker 4: She's new to their to their family, and I think
- 28:12Speaker 4: that she has just jumped on Ralph's side with very
- 28:15Speaker 4: little information, and it's hurt her, you know what I mean,
- 28:19Speaker 4: Like I think she should have gotten to know them,
- 28:21Speaker 4: both of them, and kind of stayed out of it.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Because we know how marriage stuff is, like, you know
- 28:25Speaker 4: what I mean, Like you don't want to.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Be two sides.
- 28:28Speaker 4: There's two sides, and the persons most of the time
- 28:31Speaker 4: going to always side with their partners, so it's like,
- 28:33Speaker 4: just stay out of it. So I think that's probably
- 28:35Speaker 4: where for most people she really messed up, was like
- 28:38Speaker 4: getting too involved in a marriage when that's it's you know,
- 28:42Speaker 4: that's we shouldn't do that.
- 28:55Speaker 2: And when it comes to the demise of Drew and
- 28:58Speaker 2: Ralph's relationship, the way that they're kind of the way
- 29:02Speaker 2: that I feel like Ralph came in sat on the
- 29:04Speaker 2: other side, like all of it. It really gave the
- 29:08Speaker 2: impression that it was something that Drew created, which my
- 29:13Speaker 2: impression maybe because I loved Drew and the times that
- 29:16Speaker 2: I've spent with her is that was his way of deflecting,
- 29:21Speaker 2: and finally she just had enough.
- 29:23Speaker 3: But like, what is your thoughts?
- 29:25Speaker 1: And the yeah, I think so.
- 29:30Speaker 4: You know, I met Drew a couple of weeks before
- 29:33Speaker 4: I started filming for the show, and I hung out
- 29:35Speaker 4: with her once and then I hung out with her
- 29:36Speaker 4: and her husband twice, and I really loved them together.
- 29:40Speaker 4: I was like, Oh my god, they have this laugh
- 29:42Speaker 4: and they just have this, you know, this genuine love
- 29:45Speaker 4: that I thought was like, oh my god, Mia Ros
- 29:46Speaker 4: said this is going to be like our you know,
- 29:48Speaker 4: we're gonna be friends. We're gonna be a couple of friends.
- 29:50Speaker 4: And then I think, I think what hurt them the
- 29:53Speaker 4: most was that I think that they exposed too much
- 29:57Speaker 4: of the hardships of their marriage to the public. And
- 30:01Speaker 4: the reality is when the Twitter world and everybody gets
- 30:04Speaker 4: involved and everybody has their opinions, it's really hard for
- 30:08Speaker 4: you to be able to see clearly and to forgive
- 30:11Speaker 4: and move on. And so I just think so much
- 30:13Speaker 4: damage had been done on both sides.
- 30:16Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you, Teddy. There are times where
- 30:18Speaker 1: I believe Ralph, there are times I believe Drew. I
- 30:20Speaker 1: don't I don't know, Like I don't know who is
- 30:22Speaker 1: gas lighting who. Yeah, it's just a tricky.
- 30:26Speaker 2: But do you think Drew is a liar? Like I
- 30:29Speaker 2: feel like she was called a liar multiple times.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Success I think I think Drew lies. Yes?
- 30:35Speaker 3: Do you think Ralph lies?
- 30:36Speaker 1: Yes? I think they're both liars?
- 30:39Speaker 2: And have you met I know Tie were seen filming,
- 30:42Speaker 2: but like, have you spent time with Tie?
- 30:45Speaker 1: No? And I should say this, I don't hold on.
- 30:48Speaker 1: I want to say this, Teddy.
- 30:49Speaker 4: I don't want to say that Ralph Ralph has never
- 30:52Speaker 4: lied to me, like I don't have an experience like
- 30:53Speaker 4: Drew lied on me and to me, so I have
- 30:56Speaker 4: a personal experience of Drew lying.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I should say that I think Ralph is a liar.
- 31:00Speaker 4: I just think that sometimes his perspective of the experience
- 31:04Speaker 4: with his wife is skewed.
- 31:06Speaker 1: So I don't want to call him a hard per
- 31:07Speaker 1: a liar.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Do you think they're jealous of each other? Like it
- 31:10Speaker 3: almost feels like they're on like.
- 31:11Speaker 2: A one upper, Like when you get to that point
- 31:14Speaker 2: in a marriage when you're always trying to like talk
- 31:16Speaker 2: the other one.
- 31:18Speaker 4: It's I never thought that until the other day I
- 31:20Speaker 4: was talking to somebody who had been around them more
- 31:24Speaker 4: than me, and they said the same thing, and I
- 31:26Speaker 4: was like.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Damn, could that be it? Like are they jealous of
- 31:29Speaker 1: each other? Are they trying to one up each other?
- 31:30Speaker 4: And I think it could be because obviously I think
- 31:33Speaker 4: Ralph is here for the shit, Like I think Ralph
- 31:35Speaker 4: wants it, you know, wants to be a star. Obviously
- 31:38Speaker 4: Drew wants to be a star. So I think that
- 31:40Speaker 4: could be a thing. Like my husband ain't trying to
- 31:42Speaker 4: be no stars.
- 31:42Speaker 2: So he was like he's like, I'm traveling right now,
- 31:45Speaker 2: I'll take a FaceTime and badly so it works.
- 31:50Speaker 1: But yeah, that could be it, Seddie. Maybe maybe it is.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Maybe they are, you know, jealous of each other and
- 31:56Speaker 4: constantly trying to one up each other and it's never
- 31:57Speaker 4: going to work in a.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Marriage, no, never.
- 32:01Speaker 2: And then we also saw your relationship with your family
- 32:07Speaker 2: kind of play out on television and coming from some
- 32:11Speaker 2: you know a family where my dad you know, is
- 32:16Speaker 2: super successful and same same with you. And when I
- 32:18Speaker 2: was younger, I worked for him for a little bit.
- 32:21Speaker 2: I didn't last long because I was like, I get
- 32:25Speaker 2: that you're my boss in this moment, but like, also,
- 32:30Speaker 2: f off like, I can't take it from you the
- 32:33Speaker 2: same way that I will like go in.
- 32:35Speaker 3: The trenches for other people.
- 32:37Speaker 2: But it seems like your family did really go for
- 32:40Speaker 2: it and be there for you one hundred percent for
- 32:42Speaker 2: a while.
- 32:42Speaker 3: What do you think was that tipping point? Do you
- 32:44Speaker 3: think it was the show?
- 32:46Speaker 4: No, so I don't I don't feel like so okay.
- 32:48Speaker 4: So what people need to understand is my family and
- 32:52Speaker 4: I have worked together for the majority of my career
- 32:54Speaker 4: and I still work with my mom. My mom is
- 32:56Speaker 4: still my manager, Like that's still happening. I think what
- 32:59Speaker 4: made made the difference that people went it's on the
- 33:03Speaker 4: shows who were living together, like we had never all
- 33:05Speaker 4: lived together throughout our whole lives.
- 33:08Speaker 1: This is you know.
- 33:08Speaker 4: I mean obviously when I was a kid, my mom
- 33:10Speaker 4: and dad, but when I went off to college, I
- 33:12Speaker 4: had never lived with my parents again, and so I
- 33:14Speaker 4: think the dynamic of us living together and working together
- 33:17Speaker 4: would put a real strain on the relationship. And to
- 33:21Speaker 4: be honest, the only one that ended and hasn't you
- 33:24Speaker 4: know been repaired in our working situation is my is
- 33:26Speaker 4: my brother in law. My sister still does my hair,
- 33:29Speaker 4: my mom still manages my career. They've now moved out
- 33:31Speaker 4: and we are happy campers. Yeah, but the conflict I
- 33:35Speaker 4: think just really came from us all living together and
- 33:37Speaker 4: being in the same space. And like my sister said
- 33:39Speaker 4: on the show, it's like I don't really have boundaries period.
- 33:43Speaker 4: This is who I am. Like I'm like, you know,
- 33:44Speaker 4: like why not, why can't we do this? And so
- 33:46Speaker 4: like with my husband, my sister, my brother in law
- 33:49Speaker 4: as my assistant, that felt overwhelming because I was always working.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Them like, well, he's here, why can't we do you
- 33:54Speaker 1: know work?
- 33:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you're you're impulsive and I want something done. I
- 33:58Speaker 2: want it done now, and how other people are you know?
- 34:02Speaker 2: I get that I can be the same way, and
- 34:05Speaker 2: then when people check me, I saw you get emotional
- 34:08Speaker 2: and I was like, shit, I get that way too,
- 34:10Speaker 2: because I'm not necessary. I can be abrasive and like
- 34:14Speaker 2: let's get shit done. But then I see it affect.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Somebody, and I'm like, oh shit, maybe I did. Maybe
- 34:20Speaker 3: I did.
- 34:21Speaker 4: You think people are on the same level as you,
- 34:23Speaker 4: and it's like the same drive and the same intensity,
- 34:26Speaker 4: and people aren't like people check out, you know, like
- 34:29Speaker 4: my brand is always on I'm working twenty four seven,
- 34:32Speaker 4: So I see it as like, you know, let's keep working,
- 34:35Speaker 4: and for other people it's like, no, this is a
- 34:37Speaker 4: nine to five, is a job, and I want to
- 34:38Speaker 4: be with my family now. And I was able to
- 34:40Speaker 4: see and respect that, and you I have to do
- 34:42Speaker 4: that with other people that don't live with me. I
- 34:44Speaker 4: just feel like I crossed the line with him because
- 34:46Speaker 4: we were in the same house.
- 34:47Speaker 2: You know, And you said that the only relationship not
- 34:50Speaker 2: repaired as him. Does that mean just in a working
- 34:53Speaker 2: standpoint or.
- 34:53Speaker 4: That's a working standpoint, just from a working stand point.
- 34:55Speaker 4: We haven't worked together again, but where as tight as
- 34:59Speaker 4: can be. Everything is great with our family. We're in
- 35:02Speaker 4: a great space, I said, still with my sister and
- 35:05Speaker 4: my mom, So that's totally fine. But it's just that
- 35:07Speaker 4: that relationship, we felt like it was better for us
- 35:09Speaker 4: to just be family and not work together.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 35:12Speaker 2: And then what made you ultimately share Like you shared
- 35:18Speaker 2: pretty early when you got pregnant, which I completely understand
- 35:23Speaker 2: the excitement and all of that, and someone who came
- 35:25Speaker 2: from having multiple miscarriages, I immediately when you did it, like,
- 35:30Speaker 2: I know this sounds bad, but I was like, like
- 35:33Speaker 2: I had this moment of fear because I was like,
- 35:35Speaker 2: there were so many times that I went through IVF
- 35:38Speaker 2: and I would tell my family and that wasn't even
- 35:41Speaker 2: on national television.
- 35:43Speaker 3: But almost I'm curious.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Did it almost help you grieve better because you weren't
- 35:48Speaker 2: keeping that secret? I think so many of us that
- 35:49Speaker 2: have miscarriages keep it a secret, and then you feel
- 35:53Speaker 2: really alone. Whereas if you're on national television sharing it,
- 35:56Speaker 2: you hear how many other women have struggled with us.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's a lot. It's a lot for us
- 36:03Speaker 1: to unpack.
- 36:05Speaker 4: So the reason I shared it early was because, like
- 36:09Speaker 4: you said, I was super excited. I had never had
- 36:12Speaker 4: a miscarriage, Teddy, I had never like every you know,
- 36:14Speaker 4: like if I just assumed I was gonna get pregnant
- 36:16Speaker 4: have the baby, like it didn't even cross my mind
- 36:18Speaker 4: that I could potentially not right, So that was kind
- 36:21Speaker 4: of naivete of my own life experiences, And so I
- 36:24Speaker 4: was super excited.
- 36:26Speaker 1: My son had wanted me to be pregnant so bad.
- 36:28Speaker 1: So it's just like, you know, just this overwhelming of
- 36:30Speaker 1: excitement moment to know in the moment.
- 36:34Speaker 4: And so and then also too, to be very frank
- 36:36Speaker 4: and honest, too, it was kind of like the payoff, right,
- 36:38Speaker 4: Like I last season wasn't gonna do it, and the
- 36:40Speaker 4: season was wrapping up, and I wanted people to know,
- 36:42Speaker 4: like we got to this point, and you know, so
- 36:45Speaker 4: it was also that too that played a part. And
- 36:47Speaker 4: if I wasn't filming, maybe I would have held it
- 36:49Speaker 4: a little bit longer. But because we were filming and
- 36:51Speaker 4: it was coming to an end, I thought, Man, what
- 36:52Speaker 4: a perfect way to share this with the world, like
- 36:54Speaker 4: my husband and I having another child. So there's that,
- 36:59Speaker 4: and then you know, when I go through the experience
- 37:01Speaker 4: of losing it, it was just, you know, it just
- 37:05Speaker 4: it just it just rips your heart out because I
- 37:06Speaker 4: think for most of us, when you get pregnant and
- 37:09Speaker 4: you decide that you're going to keep it and you're
- 37:11Speaker 4: going to become a mom, you feel like a mom immediately,
- 37:14Speaker 4: like you start to vision having that new.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Person in your life.
- 37:18Speaker 4: And I started thinking of the nursery and all these things,
- 37:20Speaker 4: and you kind of change immediately.
- 37:22Speaker 1: And so when you lose it, it's devastating.
- 37:25Speaker 4: And I think it was actually harder and it was
- 37:28Speaker 4: hard on me Teddy because so it was this was crazy.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Not only do I have to live it in the
- 37:33Speaker 4: moment where I went through this very traumatic experience of
- 37:35Speaker 4: having to get a blood transfusion.
- 37:37Speaker 1: All of that I wasn't with my husband. So I
- 37:39Speaker 1: come home, I have to live it again. Then it
- 37:41Speaker 1: comes on the show, I have to live it again,
- 37:42Speaker 1: and then I I'm pregnant again when the show is airing.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So it's like this weird space of people being like
- 37:48Speaker 1: congratulations and they're congration I'm sorry when I lost. Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 4: So it was just it was an overwhelmingly difficult experience
- 37:57Speaker 4: for me. And I did get a lot of love
- 38:00Speaker 4: support through from a lot of women like there are
- 38:02Speaker 4: I mean, every other woman has had this experience. It's
- 38:05Speaker 4: just been insane and it makes you feel like you're
- 38:08Speaker 4: not alone.
- 38:08Speaker 1: So it did help a little bit. But it was
- 38:10Speaker 1: also you know, moments where it was really hard because
- 38:12Speaker 1: of the show, you know.
- 38:14Speaker 2: And I think, you know, for those of you guys
- 38:16Speaker 2: listening who are going through these pregnancy trials and correct
- 38:19Speaker 2: me if I'm wrong, but I remember feeling during my
- 38:22Speaker 2: miscarriages for somebody who's very type A and loves to
- 38:26Speaker 2: win and loves to succeed and like wants to I'm
- 38:29Speaker 2: always hustling, and I remember with each miscarriage. I considered
- 38:35Speaker 2: myself a failure, like I failed at this.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, like I.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Couldn't do this, I couldn't accomplish this, and that guilt
- 38:43Speaker 2: and pain when even though it was completely out of
- 38:46Speaker 2: my control exactly, it really weighed on me. So it's
- 38:51Speaker 2: like those everybody grieves differently, but like for me, that
- 38:55Speaker 2: was such a huge part, Like even to my husband
- 38:58Speaker 2: or to my kids or my family, no matter how
- 39:01Speaker 2: far along I was each time. But like if you
- 39:04Speaker 2: really have a moment where you're like, am I not
- 39:08Speaker 2: good enough for this?
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, no for sure, Like am I not worthy?
- 39:12Speaker 1: Am I all those things? Yeah?
- 39:14Speaker 4: And especially like you said, a type a person who
- 39:16Speaker 4: you set this goal and you're gonna do it and
- 39:18Speaker 4: you're gonna achieve it, and then it doesn't happen.
- 39:21Speaker 1: It's it's crushing. But I think for me, I'm grateful.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Like a month later after the miscarriage, we got pregnant again,
- 39:27Speaker 1: so I didn't have a long time to you know,
- 39:30Speaker 1: be know, did.
- 39:31Speaker 3: You guys just start trying again or just not?
- 39:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so you know, I haven't any iv if anything
- 39:37Speaker 4: is you know, I conceive naturally both times, and I
- 39:40Speaker 4: remember after the miscarriage and coming home and going to
- 39:43Speaker 4: doctor Jackie and she said, look, you know, there's been
- 39:45Speaker 4: research that proves you guys can start whenever.
- 39:47Speaker 1: You don't have to wait. There.
- 39:48Speaker 4: Used to be like, oh wait, that's IOUs about wait,
- 39:51Speaker 4: you know, and she was like, no, if you if
- 39:54Speaker 4: you you know, if you're ready to go again, just
- 39:56Speaker 4: go again.
- 39:56Speaker 1: And so we went again. And I mean immediately I
- 40:01Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, this is insane.
- 40:04Speaker 2: And you do Christmas, which I have to say, your
- 40:08Speaker 2: kid is gonna be pissed because it means all the time.
- 40:12Speaker 2: My sister is born near Christmas and she's like it sucks.
- 40:16Speaker 2: She's like, all the gifts.
- 40:18Speaker 1: You get one thing.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's but that being said, what a blessing
- 40:24Speaker 2: that every I mean, do you have a name?
- 40:27Speaker 3: Picked?
- 40:28Speaker 1: No?
- 40:28Speaker 3: No name ye?
- 40:28Speaker 1: Because I only had girl names in my head, I
- 40:30Speaker 1: was hope it's gonna be a girl.
- 40:32Speaker 3: You have nothing. You don't have like a top.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Three nothing yet. No, seriously, we don't. We're gonna start thinking.
- 40:37Speaker 4: About it soon, all right, you guys. A I know
- 40:41Speaker 4: I wanted to be an A because my Aron Aaron Aaron.
- 40:43Speaker 4: So I need I need an a name, A good
- 40:45Speaker 4: a name for a boy.
- 40:46Speaker 2: So, guys, when you're listening, we're gonna post this, write
- 40:49Speaker 2: a list of a names suggestions.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Do you like a more unique name or you want like.
- 40:56Speaker 4: No, because my son's Aaron, So I want something else unique.
- 40:59Speaker 4: I don't want it to be like traditionally.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Like my husband Andrew, like Anthony. You want something you need? Okay,
- 41:07Speaker 3: all right, well I'll be thinking about it.
- 41:10Speaker 2: My last question for you is, because I know we
- 41:12Speaker 2: both have to go, but what advice would you give
- 41:16Speaker 2: to somebody who has gone through a similar experience.
- 41:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I would tell a woman who is experiencing something similar,
- 41:27Speaker 4: like a miscarriage or difficulty.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Conceiving, to.
- 41:34Speaker 4: Give themself grace, you know, find a circle of women
- 41:40Speaker 4: that they could talk to that lift them up, and
- 41:44Speaker 4: to just understand that it's not their fault and it's
- 41:48Speaker 4: a process and at the right time they will conceive.
- 41:52Speaker 4: But you know, just give yourself grace, don't be too
- 41:54Speaker 4: hard on yourself, you know, don't center and make it
- 41:57Speaker 4: about you, you know, just do discontinue living your life
- 42:00Speaker 4: and enjoying life, and trust the process, you know, because this.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Too shall pass.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and God willing, you know, God willing you'll be
- 42:09Speaker 4: able to conceive one day and start a family.
- 42:11Speaker 3: So no, that's really good advice.
- 42:14Speaker 2: And since since the reunion, which women do you feel
- 42:22Speaker 2: like you are closest with at this point? Just to
- 42:24Speaker 2: give us a little teaser, hoping that you know everybody's
- 42:28Speaker 2: back as.
- 42:28Speaker 4: It, Yeah, well, I'm still super close with Marlowe. You know,
- 42:33Speaker 4: after going through my experience, She's the one who stepped
- 42:36Speaker 4: up for me Teddy, she sent me uber eat, she
- 42:38Speaker 4: sent flowers, she came. She's just been, you know, the
- 42:41Speaker 4: one that's just really been there for me. So I
- 42:43Speaker 4: would say Marlowe, I'm the closest to I still.
- 42:47Speaker 1: You know.
- 42:47Speaker 4: The funny thing is I can pick on the phone
- 42:48Speaker 4: and call any of the girls. Candy and I are cool.
- 42:51Speaker 4: I talked to Kenya the other day. I check I
- 42:53Speaker 4: check on Drew regularly because she's always on my heart.
- 42:57Speaker 4: I just feel so bad for her situation and Surann
- 42:59Speaker 4: I great.
- 43:00Speaker 1: So I'm really good with everybody.
- 43:01Speaker 4: I'm probably I'm closest tomorlow undeniably, but I feel like,
- 43:05Speaker 4: you know, I can reach out to any of them
- 43:07Speaker 4: and they pick up my calls and we can talk
- 43:09Speaker 4: and there's no you know, big tension there. So you know,
- 43:12Speaker 4: I still feel really good with all the girls. I'm
- 43:14Speaker 4: just closest.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Tomorlow are Ralph Andrews still living together in the same house.
- 43:18Speaker 1: They're in the same house still.
- 43:21Speaker 3: And he's in the bunk room or whatever.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess he's in the basement.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Like they have a beautiful home and yeah, yeah, I
- 43:27Speaker 4: think I think he's in the basement.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I guess.
- 43:29Speaker 4: I didn't ask her, like I know he's not in
- 43:31Speaker 4: the bedroom. But the last time I talked to her,
- 43:34Speaker 4: which is probably a couple days ago, I was like,
- 43:35Speaker 4: oh really, and she's like, I'm like.
- 43:38Speaker 3: That would be hard.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Fuck, Oh my gosh. He hasn't left. Like I know
- 43:43Speaker 1: me and Ross were going through he'd have been like.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yeah, no, Like if we were at that point, there's
- 43:48Speaker 2: and I don't care. If I had to move my
- 43:50Speaker 2: ass into a one bedroom apartment with all my kids,
- 43:53Speaker 2: are like, get away from me.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Exactly me too. I would not be looking at you
- 43:58Speaker 4: every day, sir. It would not happen.
- 44:00Speaker 2: No, I wouldn't want to see it. I don't want
- 44:01Speaker 2: to know when you're coming home. I don't know when
- 44:04Speaker 2: you're coming back.
- 44:05Speaker 3: I don't want to see your face.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Either me either I would. I would I'm just like
- 44:09Speaker 1: you have with my mom and my daddy, or in
- 44:11Speaker 1: a one bedroom if I had to. But I'm not
- 44:13Speaker 1: going to be sitting in this house with you.
- 44:14Speaker 3: No, no, no, no.
- 44:16Speaker 2: So I mean everyone's different, But to me, I think
- 44:20Speaker 2: that's harder on the kids to see that separation than
- 44:24Speaker 2: just saying it's not working between us anymore.
- 44:26Speaker 3: We both love it. You were both there for you.
- 44:28Speaker 3: But oh, one last fan question.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Sure, we did hear that the fans have been thirsting
- 44:36Speaker 2: over your husband.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Me too, honey, do you check his Insta? Does he
- 44:45Speaker 3: get any shady dms?
- 44:47Speaker 1: No?
- 44:48Speaker 4: No, you know, it's so funny because my husband is
- 44:51Speaker 4: like the most chill guy. Like there'll be videos that
- 44:54Speaker 4: people will create and I'll show me. He's like, he's
- 44:57Speaker 4: so embarrassed. He's like, my guys, it's so embarrass said,
- 45:01Speaker 4: it's crazy. You know, he's so modest. But no, nothing crazy.
- 45:06Speaker 4: He has come in the DMS no text messages. People
- 45:09Speaker 4: have been respectful, although certainly let me know that they
- 45:12Speaker 4: think he's hot stuff all the time.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Well let's just keep it, let's keep him humble. So
- 45:18Speaker 2: you check him from time to time.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Oh, I do, don't you worry.
- 45:22Speaker 2: And if you guys were to do a race right now,
- 45:25Speaker 2: do you think you could beat him?
- 45:26Speaker 1: Well, you know, I'm six months pregnant, so he would definitely.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I forgot Fine, I'll.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Check you in a year and see what you said.
- 45:36Speaker 2: All right, Well, thank you so much for joining us
- 45:39Speaker 2: and sharing your experience, and we look forward to hopefully
- 45:43Speaker 2: seeing you next year.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Yes, me too. And are you on vacation honey, because
- 45:46Speaker 1: I'm like, where are you?
- 45:47Speaker 2: Oh? I'm in Cabo right now on my all in
- 45:51Speaker 2: my coaches had like a thing that they ended up winning.
- 45:54Speaker 3: So the top six coaches in my company, I took
- 45:57Speaker 3: them to Cabo. So we're here.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Oh nice, yeah's funny. Jealous.
- 46:02Speaker 3: I know.
- 46:03Speaker 2: I'm in a little bit of heaven. I have my
- 46:05Speaker 2: aperall spreads, my iced tea.
- 46:07Speaker 3: I'm like, oh.
- 46:08Speaker 1: My goodness, I love it. Well, enjoy, enjoy.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 46:12Speaker 1: First, thanks for having me.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Bye,
