- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We are back on the Almost Famous podcast. There might
- 0:09Speaker 2: not be a season of the Bachelorette, and who knows
- 0:12Speaker 2: if there'll ever be a season of the Bachelor again.
- 0:15Speaker 2: We're up in the air on so many things, but
- 0:19Speaker 2: one thing is for sure. Bachelor Nation doesn't sleep and
- 0:22Speaker 2: they always have some news coming your way, and Ashley
- 0:26Speaker 2: is here with us to bring it to you. Let's
- 0:29Speaker 2: start with this headline, Ashley Taylor, Frankie, Paul Shares and
- 0:34Speaker 2: I quote ugly parts of what healing actually looks like
- 0:39Speaker 2: after domestic dispute.
- 0:41Speaker 3: This is definitely one of those headlines where we're gonna
- 0:43Speaker 3: want to head head to Instagram and actually see it.
- 0:47Speaker 3: So she takes pictures of herself, really her body, showing
- 0:51Speaker 3: how thin she is. She wants to gain weight, she's saying.
- 0:55Speaker 3: The caption said it was it was heavy. It'said this
- 1:01Speaker 3: public atrocity that I not only lived through once, but
- 1:07Speaker 3: now twice on even a bigger scale, was ultimately.
- 1:10Speaker 4: The cost to my freedom.
- 1:13Speaker 3: I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy or even
- 1:16Speaker 3: the ones who publicize it. When I read that, I
- 1:19Speaker 3: was like, does she mean the press or does she
- 1:21Speaker 3: mean like him since he made it public. I think
- 1:25Speaker 3: it's the question is both could be both, which makes
- 1:29Speaker 3: me feel guilty that we were always on here talking
- 1:31Speaker 3: about it. But she said, I cried on my knees
- 1:35Speaker 3: in pain while also saying thank you. And this was
- 1:38Speaker 3: really visual, she says metaphorically, someone witnessed me bleeding out
- 1:43Speaker 3: and poured sault all over me. However, I'm still here
- 1:47Speaker 3: as we can see barely as she's showing her body
- 1:52Speaker 3: because I believe God helped me through and sent to
- 1:55Speaker 3: help plus an army, which makes me cry because thank
- 1:59Speaker 3: you for all of you who supported me without even.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Having full context.
- 2:05Speaker 3: So I mean, she's been posting a couple of things
- 2:08Speaker 3: this week, really showing thanks to all the people that
- 2:13Speaker 3: helped her, send her things, send her messages to support,
- 2:18Speaker 3: were there for her during it all, and it's interesting
- 2:23Speaker 3: to see her go through this.
- 2:25Speaker 4: It's awful. I feel, you know, horrible.
- 2:28Speaker 3: This is kind of what we expected to see from
- 2:31Speaker 3: her when the when the season was canceled, like something
- 2:35Speaker 3: where it's like, oh my gosh, like what I'm going through,
- 2:37Speaker 3: what I'm going through, And we were just seeing her
- 2:41Speaker 3: do more lighthearted stuff. But I think what she's trying
- 2:44Speaker 3: to say is like she's been here working through this.
- 2:47Speaker 3: It's been a burden, and I've been on her shoulders
- 2:49Speaker 3: just as much as we would have anticipated it.
- 2:51Speaker 4: But she's just now talking about the weight now.
- 2:56Speaker 3: We also see Dakota releasing a statement today. I'm interested
- 3:01Speaker 3: to know your take on this. I'm like becoming as
- 3:05Speaker 3: I'm watching this story unfold and getting to know these
- 3:10Speaker 3: two people better in my parasocial relationship with them. My
- 3:16Speaker 3: thoughts are constantly evolving, all right, So this is what
- 3:20Speaker 3: Dakota wrote today, Like Sunday night. Over the past several weeks,
- 3:28Speaker 3: I've taken a step back and had time away from
- 3:30Speaker 3: the chaos. That space has been a breath of fresh air,
- 3:32Speaker 3: and it's given me clarity. My focus now is where
- 3:36Speaker 3: it should have been all along, on my son and
- 3:38Speaker 3: creating a stable, healthy environment for him moving forward. I
- 3:42Speaker 3: regret not stepping away from a difficult cycle sooner. I'm
- 3:45Speaker 3: not perfect. I take accountability for my part. I'm sincerely
- 3:49Speaker 3: sorry to those that I've hurt. At the same time,
- 3:51Speaker 3: I don't agree with how the situation has been portrayed publicly.
- 3:54Speaker 3: It does not reflect the full context of what has
- 3:57Speaker 3: occurred or the impact that has had on me and
- 3:59Speaker 3: my son. I've chosen to step away from the spotlight
- 4:03Speaker 3: and to focus on my family. My growth are healing,
- 4:06Speaker 3: and that's where my energy will remain. I'm closing an
- 4:09Speaker 3: unhealthy chapter and moving forward with hope for better days ahead.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I'm grateful for all the encouragement support that I've received,
- 4:17Speaker 3: and I'm committed to showing up in a way that
- 4:19Speaker 3: reflects that. My intention, over time and when appropriate, is
- 4:23Speaker 3: to use what I've learned in a way that supports
- 4:25Speaker 3: others navigating similar situations. For now, my priority is showing
- 4:31Speaker 3: up as the best father I could be forever. I
- 4:35Speaker 3: guess what I mean when I say I have ever
- 4:40Speaker 3: evolving thoughts on the two of them is that I'm growing.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I'm getting my I'm growing empathy for Taylor and Dakota.
- 4:49Speaker 3: I am more and more skeptical of what are your thoughts.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I can't put a I can't put my finger on it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: You just got a feeling like a just like as you.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's like the when you read stuff like this, You're like,
- 5:04Speaker 2: I just feel like there's more to the story than
- 5:06Speaker 2: what he wants to even.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Portray yeah, like some things that are like coded in there.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Like at the same time, I don't agree with how
- 5:13Speaker 3: the situations would portrayed publicly. It doesn't reflect I just
- 5:16Speaker 3: like kind of wish that he had just stopped after
- 5:19Speaker 3: like saying my focus right now is where it should
- 5:22Speaker 3: have been all along, on my son and creating a
- 5:24Speaker 3: healthy environment for him moving forward, like just period at
- 5:26Speaker 3: the end, and that'd been awesome.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I think it's interesting timing that it came out after
- 5:29Speaker 2: that show came out on YouTube.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Yeah, me too.
- 5:32Speaker 5: I mean it was obviously filmed way while ago, but well.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Not way long ago. I think it was February.
- 5:38Speaker 2: It was February, but like still, it's just interesting timing
- 5:41Speaker 2: that that show's you know, last episode just posted and
- 5:44Speaker 2: then you're like, I'm taking a break.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you don't have anything else in you.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe you just don't have anything happening. How do
- 5:52Speaker 2: I feel about it all? You know, I think through
- 5:54Speaker 2: this whole thing, it is so messy. I've always held
- 5:57Speaker 2: and I think you do, and I think most of
- 5:59Speaker 2: the public does. Can we get some type of solution
- 6:02Speaker 2: here because I can't imagine the heaviness that is sitting
- 6:06Speaker 2: on the chop children. I think that's always been kind
- 6:09Speaker 2: of the thought because and I only say that. I
- 6:12Speaker 2: don't say that to make it like a a politically
- 6:20Speaker 2: like sound response. It is because I don't know what
- 6:23Speaker 2: happened here. There's so much being bounced around it's hard
- 6:26Speaker 2: for me to form an opinion. And so I'm kind
- 6:28Speaker 2: of waiting for the evidence to get released and for
- 6:31Speaker 2: the court cases to be heard before because here's the
- 6:37Speaker 2: thing with social media, everybody's really good at turning people
- 6:41Speaker 2: on their side. It's very easy to craft up a
- 6:44Speaker 2: really nice message to make somebody either feel guilty for
- 6:48Speaker 2: disliking you or feel bad for you or whatever. And
- 6:52Speaker 2: so I'm not taking much weight into the curated response.
- 6:58Speaker 2: What I want to know is what happened, and then
- 7:00Speaker 2: we can kind of make a call. So I'm not
- 7:03Speaker 2: like team anybody. I'm more can we figure this out
- 7:06Speaker 2: for the kids, and then once we have the more
- 7:09Speaker 2: the most evidence available to us, then we can kind
- 7:12Speaker 2: of say, yeah, that's messed up that that happened, or
- 7:14Speaker 2: we can say, wow, these two people should never be
- 7:17Speaker 2: in the same room ever again. But I don't it's weird.
- 7:22Speaker 2: The thing that was weird with me with the code announcement,
- 7:25Speaker 2: I guess was the public's you know, way of covering it.
- 7:29Speaker 5: And I'm like, weren't you.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Like maybe he wasn't, But wasn't the rumor that he
- 7:34Speaker 2: was the one with the with the video in the
- 7:37Speaker 2: first place?
- 7:38Speaker 5: Right?
- 7:38Speaker 2: What do you mean it was his video that was released.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It wasn't anybody else a third party taking the video?
- 7:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Like, he definitely was the one that put it
- 7:45Speaker 4: out there.
- 7:46Speaker 2: And so of course people are going to cover it,
- 7:48Speaker 2: you know, based on what they have. You were part
- 7:50Speaker 2: of them having the information they had, is.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yeah, That's kind of where I'm at too. It's like, oh,
- 7:56Speaker 4: at first.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I was like, oh, he's really a victim of domestic violence,
- 7:59Speaker 3: which he is, but also I think that he has
- 8:03Speaker 3: a lot there's just more to the story, because yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 3: there's like so much there story.
- 8:10Speaker 4: It also has to do with you and I having
- 8:12Speaker 4: like not.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Watched through that last season of Secret Lives because people
- 8:17Speaker 3: who have seemed to have a different opinion a stronger
- 8:20Speaker 3: opinion on him. Okay, let's go into our next headline,
- 8:24Speaker 3: also a serious, serious one.
- 8:28Speaker 2: We fell in love with her on Bachelor in Paradise.
- 8:30Speaker 2: We really did, We love her Alex Godden reveals she
- 8:35Speaker 2: was sexually abused as a child, and the quote is
- 8:38Speaker 2: it doesn't define me.
- 8:39Speaker 3: She said because March is a sexual assault awareness month,
- 8:43Speaker 3: that she wanted to get on Instagram and talk about
- 8:46Speaker 3: an experience that she had as a child. She said,
- 8:49Speaker 3: I experienced sexual abuse by someone who is close to me.
- 8:52Speaker 3: It was something that I have processed on my own
- 8:55Speaker 3: over the years and truly something I'm still processing. She
- 8:58Speaker 3: said that she ever had a platform that she wanted
- 9:01Speaker 3: to use it for something meaningful, and she feels that
- 9:05Speaker 3: this obviously is something meaningful. She says, it doesn't define me,
- 9:09Speaker 3: but it is definitely shaped to how I see boundaries,
- 9:12Speaker 3: trust and honesty, also relationships. If this is something you've
- 9:16Speaker 3: been through, just know that you're not alone. She didn't
- 9:20Speaker 3: give any details about the alleged incidents, but she said
- 9:24Speaker 3: that sharing and speaking out is kind of a therapeutic
- 9:27Speaker 3: experience for her. She said, of course you if you've
- 9:30Speaker 3: experienced it, don't have to do a public video for
- 9:33Speaker 3: too valid But everyone does heal differently, and for me,
- 9:36Speaker 3: part of that is be able to share and talk
- 9:38Speaker 3: about it openly. She also shared a link to rain
- 9:41Speaker 3: which is the US's largest anti sexual violence association.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Next headline for we covered the story it feels like
- 9:50Speaker 2: for a long time and we're getting some answers now,
- 9:54Speaker 2: But former bachelorette shares emotional health update. This is a
- 9:58Speaker 2: relation to Michelle. Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So remember how we talked about how Michelle Young was
- 10:03Speaker 3: there mold or she like had mold poisoning or something
- 10:06Speaker 3: was in her environment and was making her very sick. Well,
- 10:10Speaker 3: it led to something awful. It's called disautoumonia. It's a
- 10:16Speaker 3: disorder of the automatic nervous system, and it's often associated
- 10:23Speaker 3: with pots, like it's the Yeah, so it's pots. It
- 10:27Speaker 3: controls functions like heart rate, blood pressure, breathing. So oftentimes
- 10:33Speaker 3: if you are sitting upright standing, you can just get
- 10:36Speaker 3: like this increased heart rate and you'll get symptoms like
- 10:40Speaker 3: fatigue and dizzyness, difficulty concentrating. You're just like kind of
- 10:43Speaker 3: like always in not always in a state, but like
- 10:45Speaker 3: often in a state of just being like flustered and
- 10:48Speaker 3: feeling like almost panicky, like you're about to have a
- 10:50Speaker 3: panic attack. And she posted on Instagram like a whole
- 10:55Speaker 3: bunch of moments from her past year or so, including
- 10:57Speaker 3: you know, her honeymoon and her wedding, her bachelorette parties,
- 11:01Speaker 3: and how like behind the scenes, like it looks, it
- 11:04Speaker 3: was just it was draining for her to get through
- 11:08Speaker 3: it all, and it was she wanted to put a
- 11:10Speaker 3: happy face on, but it was just they were tough
- 11:14Speaker 3: times to get through.
- 11:16Speaker 4: And now she's kind.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Of talking about her day to day with pots. It's
- 11:20Speaker 3: just awful, Like the poor girl can't do much comfortably
- 11:25Speaker 3: with that. It's not just doing work, sitting down the couch.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And she is getting treatment for it, and she says
- 11:31Speaker 3: the treatments have been making things much better, and I
- 11:34Speaker 3: really hope they can continue so that she can live
- 11:38Speaker 3: some sort of irregular life because right now she definitely isn't.
- 11:41Speaker 5: It's been a story, You're right.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I mean, if people flash back from a long time
- 11:45Speaker 2: ago we were covering this and talking about it, it's
- 11:48Speaker 2: got to be a frustrating time too, because it's been
- 11:51Speaker 2: such a long journey to get some type of clarity
- 11:54Speaker 2: and what is going on, and then also how to
- 11:57Speaker 2: treat it.
- 11:58Speaker 4: There's no cure. There's no cure.
- 12:00Speaker 5: There's just you can treat it. Yeah, you can treat it. Completely.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Switching gears and that is a fantastic transition if you
- 12:18Speaker 2: think too much about.
- 12:19Speaker 3: It, knowing what's to come, that was a great transition.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Tyler Cameron and girlfriend Tate release custom toolline for Target.
- 12:30Speaker 4: It's very cool.
- 12:31Speaker 3: So they have collaborated with the company Tinker to create
- 12:34Speaker 3: custom tools that are not only aesthetic but easy to use.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I don't want to put a gender on it, but
- 12:40Speaker 3: think of them as like kind of kind of girly tools,
- 12:44Speaker 3: like they say aesthetic, right ben, If you were to
- 12:47Speaker 3: pull out like this nude colored hammer from your toolbox,
- 12:54Speaker 3: I'd say that was a weird color selection. You know,
- 12:56Speaker 3: that looks like really soft and it's very It's a
- 12:59Speaker 3: pretty tool right there. So if basically I think that's
- 13:07Speaker 3: he's also that what she said, I was good.
- 13:12Speaker 5: I wasn't going to so I'm glad you did.
- 13:13Speaker 4: That's a pretty tool in there.
- 13:16Speaker 3: So basically, think about if you're a girl, if you're
- 13:20Speaker 3: you know, getting tools for your first apartment on your own,
- 13:25Speaker 3: you're trying to make it like a chick fick place,
- 13:27Speaker 3: you're trying to learn tools on your own. This is
- 13:30Speaker 3: the perfect line to build up like the most aesthetically
- 13:36Speaker 3: pleasing tools that you've ever seen.
- 13:38Speaker 4: It's so so cute.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I'll do the hammer because I will do a lot
- 13:43Speaker 3: of things on the walls because I'm much more O
- 13:46Speaker 3: C D about picture placement than Jared's tape, measures, balances.
- 13:53Speaker 4: All of that. I could definitely have Kezeff.
- 13:55Speaker 3: The one thing that I wish I had skill in,
- 13:58Speaker 3: or I guess I could learn any time I should
- 14:01Speaker 3: is using the drill, because like, I do the walls right,
- 14:04Speaker 3: but when it's something really heavy, I have Jared do it,
- 14:08Speaker 3: but I usually map it out, you know, with pencil,
- 14:10Speaker 3: like where I need the whole drilled into. But it
- 14:15Speaker 3: would be so nice if I could just have that
- 14:17Speaker 3: capability on my own. I have that new almost famous
- 14:20Speaker 3: light sign that they sent us, but I need to
- 14:23Speaker 3: wait for Jared to put that up because it needs
- 14:25Speaker 3: a drill. So I need to go get this tinker.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Hey, Tinker, hit up your girls.
- 14:31Speaker 5: She's an influencer kit Keenan.
- 14:34Speaker 2: You remember her, Ashley.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Yeah, actually I.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Looked at her Instagram today because of this headline, and
- 14:39Speaker 3: she's got a good gram.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:41Speaker 2: She kind of came on the show a few years
- 14:43Speaker 2: ago and was a big deal because of her background
- 14:47Speaker 2: and kind of she was a big name coming on
- 14:49Speaker 2: the show. She wasn't around for very long, but she's
- 14:52Speaker 2: still done so much with the platform that she had
- 14:55Speaker 2: before the show and then the platform that the show
- 14:57Speaker 2: did for her. This is really fun. Kick Keenan is
- 15:00Speaker 2: publishing her first cook book. You don't hear about this
- 15:02Speaker 2: too often.
- 15:03Speaker 3: So her mom is Cynthia Rally and Kit has really
- 15:07Speaker 3: developed her instagram based on the little TV time she
- 15:11Speaker 3: did have on The Bachelor that was Matt season and
- 15:16Speaker 3: really curioated something very fun. She does a lot of fashion,
- 15:21Speaker 3: I mean her mom is a very very well known
- 15:23Speaker 3: fashion stylist.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Kit just has a.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Really cool way of making things like pretty but not
- 15:31Speaker 3: overly influencer style, if that makes sense. She is also
- 15:36Speaker 3: really into cooking on her social media and I like
- 15:39Speaker 3: the way she does her cooking tutorials. They're really they're.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Really well done.
- 15:45Speaker 3: They're simple and I want to eat everything. And now
- 15:48Speaker 3: she's put together a cookbook. It's called In Good Taste
- 15:52Speaker 3: Effortless Chic Recipes for Every Occasion. She said she's been
- 15:57Speaker 3: working on it for years and has a dream come
- 15:59Speaker 3: true being published by Simon and Schuster. It doesn't come
- 16:02Speaker 3: out for a while. November tenth, and she has a
- 16:07Speaker 3: whole bunch of things that you'll see on Instagram that'll be.
- 16:11Speaker 4: In the book. I don't know if you can get
- 16:14Speaker 4: all those.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Recipes now, because like she's she's teasing us really well
- 16:18Speaker 3: with this book, because she's like, you're gonna have to
- 16:19Speaker 3: get the book to get this recipe. But doesn't it
- 16:22Speaker 3: look good. It's gonna be strength salads, pasa everything.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Do you follow cookbooks, I've like.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Never really followed a cookbook, but I'll do, you know,
- 16:32Speaker 3: sometimes online recipes. And I just love my HelloFresh, HelloFresh,
- 16:37Speaker 3: Oh my contract.
- 16:38Speaker 4: I love my HelloFresh.
- 16:40Speaker 2: My parents are using that now and they love it.
- 16:42Speaker 2: It's so good for two people.
- 16:44Speaker 4: It's like a little.
- 16:47Speaker 3: It's a surprise every single time we're You're like, is
- 16:49Speaker 3: this one gonna look?
- 16:51Speaker 4: It's good? It taste as good as it looks, and
- 16:53Speaker 4: it always does.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Yeah, this is not an ad.
- 16:56Speaker 4: This is this is not an od.
- 16:57Speaker 3: This is my true love for HelloFresh. Like it's so
- 17:00Speaker 3: excited when I have a Hello Fresh ad.
- 17:02Speaker 2: We you should go back if you're listening to this,
- 17:04Speaker 2: and if you haven't listened to our breakdowns of the
- 17:06Speaker 2: Real Housewives of Rhode Island. You need to go back
- 17:08Speaker 2: and listen to that. I break those downs with down
- 17:10Speaker 2: with Ashley's sister Lauren. She's fantastic. Speaking of food, Lauren
- 17:16Speaker 2: shared something with us during the last breakdown of the
- 17:18Speaker 2: Real Housewives of Rhode Island that should be a headline here.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Do you want to know what it was?
- 17:23Speaker 4: That I'm always eating? My dad texted me that last night.
- 17:26Speaker 3: He was like, you know that in every single scene tonight,
- 17:28Speaker 3: you're eating, And I'm like, I love that about myself.
- 17:31Speaker 5: No, that's not it.
- 17:34Speaker 2: That when you make a salad or when you serve
- 17:38Speaker 2: your kids, instead of using a knife, you chew it
- 17:40Speaker 2: up and spit it out like a baby bird.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Okay, well with Hayden, I need to have small bites
- 17:45Speaker 3: for a lot of things, and sometimes it's just quicker,
- 17:47Speaker 3: more efficient to just rip it off with my teeth
- 17:51Speaker 3: and just PLoP it on us. But like that, But
- 17:54Speaker 3: I do do that with crutons for Jared and my salads,
