- 0:26Welcome inside the treehouse. It is time to leave your worries outside and come
- 0:33laugh with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Maley along with Trey Trenholm and
- 0:39Raj Sharma on a Fridday, May third, twenty twenty four. A lot
- 0:46of major news going on, not just around the world, but especially on
- 0:51the airwaves of PFW Radio, and some of those things are very important to
- 0:58people, but not important as birthdays, that's honest. But before we get
- 1:06to that, I would like to extend the floor to Trey because he started
- 1:10to say something right before I hit record about something he's been enjoying lately,
- 1:14and I have no idea what it is, but I know whatever brings a
- 1:17smile to Trey's face inevitably brings the smile to most other people, including you
- 1:23and b Raj. So I'm curious to see what Trey has been enjoying.
- 1:26And this is how important I feel it can be. I'm choosing to go
- 1:32with whatever is making Trey happy right now ahead of birthdays. Wow, And
- 1:38there's not a lot of things that make me happier than birthdays. But you
- 1:42know, this was a great story from the week of I don't know if
- 1:45y'all have been following the protesters, you know, especially the ones at Columbia
- 1:49m M yeah, who you know, seem to be highly organized, you
- 1:53know, matching tenths and all and everything else. And although they don't know
- 2:00Sidley Squat, but evidently they in their rush to be revolutionaries, they forgot
- 2:08a crucial thing, which is a food and water. And they are demanding
- 2:12that a Columbia bye by their food, their meal plans had feed them and
- 2:16no, yeah, oh that's uh, they're gonna learn, They're gonna learn
- 2:22some reality. Uh here's here's here's my and and tree. You'll, I
- 2:27think you'll appreciate this. I am morally against everything Caitlyn Jenner ever has stood
- 2:34for, but I find myself agreeing with her today, which was very uh,
- 2:40it was very hard to even explain to myself, but I went I
- 2:44read the I read what she said, and I went, yeah, okay,
- 2:47kind of kind of on board with that. She said to uh,
- 2:51deport all the pro Palestine lgbt Q to Iran and Gaza and see how they
- 2:59like it. And I was like, yeah, I can kind of wait
- 3:01wait, wait, there's a there's a there's a contingent of l g b
- 3:07t Q plus plus. Uh, pro pro Palestinian protesters. You haven't seen
- 3:13the signs for Queers for Palestine No, because oh yeah, that's if you
- 3:21ever want to go. You don't really understand. It's when you see that
- 3:23banner. Yeah, that's when that's when I can That's what I like about
- 3:30the area. Yeah, I'm sorry. If you see a banner like that,
- 3:34I would think it's a trap. No, it's a legitimate lgbt Q
- 3:39plus movement that is pro Palestine. And I'm like, well, I mean,
- 3:43that's nice that you're pro them, because they're not pro And that's what
- 3:47I mean. If I was to see a sign that says, come to
- 3:52Palestine, we love lgbt Q plus, that's a trap. Yeah. Yeah,
- 3:57I believe it's Saudi Arabia where they take it GBTQ plus people that have
- 4:01come out and throw them off buildings for sport, crowds gather, people have
- 4:08lunch and then they just launch people off. It's horrible human rights violations.
- 4:13But to be on the flip side, it's easy to do that here when
- 4:16you can get away with because nothing's going to happen to you if you were
- 4:19to do the same thing there, that's balls Here you're just an idiot with
- 4:27a banner. There, you're a revolutionary, yeah, because but here you're
- 4:30an idiot with a banner and an empty tummy because you don't want to leave
- 4:34your sit in spot to go to the cafeteria to get some grub. Well,
- 4:39but it's also like with the Columbia one reporter had this back and forth
- 4:43with one of their spokes people, and yeah, they're like, but you've
- 4:46organized where you have live music almost twenty four hours a day, and you
- 4:54know, you got all the matching tads everything else, But you think about
- 4:57food and water. Yeah, come on, even co Cella has snacks.
- 5:00Yeah, that's why that's why we're demanding human rights that you know, and
- 5:04you know they bring us food and water. It doesn't work that way.
- 5:06You don't occupy, takeover buildings and everything else, you're gonna get starved out.
- 5:12Yeah, that's that's that's what the and and legitimately you didn't think about
- 5:16a craft services table, like for the you know what I mean, like
- 5:19for the professional protesters. That's it's like even I think they said a ut
- 5:26uh, like eighty five percent of the people they arrested weren't students at UT.
- 5:30They're basically they call professional agitators, professional protesters whatever. Yeah, you
- 5:35know, if if that's your profession, you would he be better, be
- 5:40better have a trailer with some food and water that you bring in there with
- 5:43you. Yeah. Yeah, don't only be a professional agitator slash protester,
- 5:48but also run a food truck. Yeah, a little side hustle. Yeah,
- 5:54that's just nobody at Columbia has uber eats. They won't let they won't
- 5:59let them. Now the police have figured this one out. They won't let
- 6:01him in. Oh good, Yeah, you have to show your student ID
- 6:04at the point. Well, they're han't. They've got, you know obviously,
- 6:08uh, you know, fences all around it. And I can assure
- 6:11you what they're gonna do now, because now you know, the cameras are
- 6:14showing people, you know, shoving bottles of water and everything in the fence.
- 6:18I promise you they're gonna double double fence that where there's you're not gonna
- 6:23be able to reach through. It seems to be a bit of a sickness
- 6:27going around with people thinking they can just say whatever they want and there aren't
- 6:30going to be any consequences, like you need to think long term. Oh
- 6:35yeah, and uh. And here's so, I don't know if it's Columbia
- 6:40or if it was perdue. Like one of the main guys. I think
- 6:45it's Columbia. He's gone now, like one of the main spokespersons. They
- 6:47expelled him. And once that happens, and I don't know if people realize
- 6:53this. You don't get into other colleges easily. Like it's almost impossible in
- 6:59this day and age for you to get Like if you get expelled from Columbia,
- 7:01you're not going You're not just gonna turn the corner and go, hey,
- 7:04n Yu, can I come in? They're like, no, no,
- 7:06you got kicked out of there, so we don't want you here.
- 7:10So you've ruined your college career. Number one, number two. It's again,
- 7:14it's really nice that you can. That's why we're the greatest country in
- 7:17the world. You can say all of these things and do all of these
- 7:20things and nobody throws you off a building. So think about that when you're
- 7:27when you're when you're doing I understand the protests. I get the everybody wants
- 7:31to cease fire, and everybody wants uh Uh, civil rights equality for throughout
- 7:38the region. I get that, and there's better ways to do that,
- 7:41and there's there's uh in my head, I think there's a better way to
- 7:44do a lot of different things. But you're right, you have to think
- 7:47before you speak. And then also pack a sandwich at least a bottle of
- 7:56water, some you know, some some beef, jerky granola something you guys
- 8:03I love. It's still making me laugh now, trait. It's like they
- 8:07have live music planned. Yeah, they had live music and wristbands, but
- 8:13no nuts. But you know, here's the other thing that I don't.
- 8:16I don't think obviously these you know they're at Colombia. It is one of
- 8:22the finest universities in the world. But you know, this whole deal like
- 8:28you know, going you know, cut ties with Israel and with Jews,
- 8:31the Jewish alumni, like there is a powerful group. You're not only you
- 8:37know, you're blackballing yourself for all your life as far as you know if
- 8:43you want to, because there's most companies are going to have, you know
- 8:46something I have, you know, Jewish people in there, and you're not
- 8:50going to get hired. Yeah, Like you are going on record saying you
- 8:54are, you know, an anti semi well, yeah, and the movement
- 8:58also you have these people that or like Jewish people and Zionists, like have
- 9:01no right to live, Like that's one of the chants that they're screaming at
- 9:07Jewish at their own classmates, like their their own their own, their own
- 9:11people. And you're yelling that out and you're like, oh, you don't
- 9:15think that's gonna get back to you. Okay, that's adorable. I mean
- 9:20this is when I'm like, this is when I look into the crowd and
- 9:22I'm like, oh, there's no Indian kids there, because mom and dad
- 9:26would have showed up by now. Oh whooped some ass serious snatchings. Yeah,
- 9:31they're like, hey, we need loans for hotels. You get back
- 9:35in school. The good thing though, that we can take out of some
- 9:41of this is that it doesn't matter what sort of technological advancements we make or
- 9:48other advancements we make in society or even you know, from whatever standpoint,
- 9:56it's that when you're a certain age, you have have a tendency to not
- 10:01think long term. Yeah, and you would think that people growing up in
- 10:09the in the age of the internet mm hm wouldn't know and understand that whatever
- 10:15you do now is going to live in perpetuity online. Yes, Like it's
- 10:20not. It's not the old days. It's not the sixties, it's not
- 10:22the seventies. It's it's not you go to a protest and you've got a
- 10:26head full of hair and a beard and a huge mustache, and if you
- 10:31need to hide from your protest past, all you got to do is shave.
- 10:35You can't do that these days. Yeah. And just the fact there's
- 10:39there's pictures and video of everything. I mean, if there had been video
- 10:45cameras around when I was in college, you know, it would forever be
- 10:48me, you know, running neked around the fraternity house because I got skunked
- 10:52in basketball. That that's what would you know, follow me for the rest
- 10:56of my life? Yeah? That The ironic thing is, is you still
- 11:00be here doing this show? Yeah? Because we'd be about the only place
- 11:05that would take you. Yeah, I'm so glad to be a part of
- 11:09this. Uh. Yeah. We had we had a photography it was called
- 11:13BE and B Photography. They would come to all of our fraternity parties and
- 11:16take pictures and I have those and I'm like, this will ruin If I
- 11:20wanted to ruin someone's political career that we're in these Like, if somebody in
- 11:24any of these photographs were like, hey, I'm running for office, I'll
- 11:26be like, and here's Spring of ninety seven. There you go. You
- 11:31might want to rethink that, buddy. You know what, maybe in the
- 11:35meantime you could just find one of those photos of your buddy Kevin from Tito
- 11:37send that to him so we can get some advertising here in the treehouse.
- 11:41I know he was very clever. I have one picture of him is at
- 11:45a formal and we're all very well addressed and everybody's very well behaved, but
- 11:48I think he was. I need you to put out there that you've got
- 11:50some very incriminate Oh yeah, yeah, I have a there's a goat and
- 11:54ah yeah, there's a goat and a party. And then Kevin, if
- 11:58it's a goat and a party, I think that ones of me. I
- 12:03think that's what established we did steal a goat. Yeah for me the first
- 12:07if I ran for office. First question, mister Turnhold, can you tell
- 12:11us about the trip you took? Uh, there's a pledge trip to Boystown
- 12:15in the rado Was it the same thing? Great? Great, great campaign
- 12:18thank y'all. I'd rather not tell you about that, Thank you very much.
- 12:22Yeah, we did the same thing. We had a dig a donkey
- 12:24show. Did not have to did not have to do. I stayed in
- 12:28the van. I can I can say that there was Oh shut up,
- 12:31Bill Clinton. Yes, but I didn't inhale me. Jamie Salcido, who's
- 12:37who actually is a Hispanic pledge brother of mine. We we stayed in the
- 12:43van and we watched Casper. Well, our other battny brothers or pledge brothers
- 12:48were doing uh they're mischief. But I promise my name, my name is
- 12:54Rod Charm. I don't want you to know I stayed in that van.
- 12:58No, I did not have I did not have any relations with that little
- 13:01ghost. Hey you watch Casper? Yeah, I mean was this movie the
- 13:11movie we want? Just like we we walked, we got okay, got
- 13:13out of the van. Saw what my what was happening in the little lobby
- 13:18area where all the women uh women of the night uh had congregated because of
- 13:24our pledge brothers and US dollars. And I looked at Jamie Selsey do and
- 13:28I go, I don't, I don't want it. And He's like yep,
- 13:31And we went back to the van and shut the door. Uh.
- 13:33We did inhale a lot we did. We did a lot of inhaling of
- 13:37the of the marijuana. But we did watch Casper. We got high,
- 13:41watched Casper while the other guys were in there doing whatever nonsense they were doing.
- 13:46Didn't have to watch the Doctor Show, didn't have to do that,
- 13:48but uh, it was. It was an interesting uh, you know for
- 13:52a kid from Mesquite very uh you know, Indian family, to see how
- 13:56people act when you cross a border. Did you at least did you guys
- 14:01think big picture long term? Did you have snacks in the van? Oh?
- 14:05Yeah, we had all the snacks there. You Yeah, we had
- 14:09beer. We had beer, We had all the snacks. Everything was good.
- 14:13I think we ate sandwiches. And we just got high and watched Casper.
- 14:18It's a really good movie when you're high. It's very boring. When
- 14:20you're not, it's very sad. He's a little dead kid that lives.
- 14:26Yeah, they really don't make them like they used to. Let's get back
- 14:35to what makes more sense in our world than that is, of course,
- 14:37birthdays. It is Faday May third, twenty twenty four. Birthdays today.
- 14:46Ah. She plays Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pum Cleman Tief is
- 14:52thirty eight today. Very good for her. Ryl Burke former Dancing with the
- 14:58Stars is she helped Drew Lache and Emmett Smith win the second and third seasons.
- 15:05She also admitted to having a fleeing with chad Ocho Cinco during season ten.
- 15:07Oh wow. Yeah. Eric Church country singer. He's forty seven.
- 15:13Christina Hendricks from NBC's Good Girls, but probably best known as Joan Holloway on
- 15:18mad Men. She is forty nine today. Deu lay Hill is also forty
- 15:24nine today, plays Gus on Psych, Alex on Suits, Larry on Ballers.
- 15:28And he was also Charlie Young on one of my favorite TV shows,
- 15:33The West Wing. And he is not Bud from the Cosby Show. That
- 15:37was the ongoing joke and Psych is that he was Budd and then they actually
- 15:43have an episode with the guy that played Bud. Oh you have to that's
- 15:45awesome. Yeah, it's one of my favorite shows. I love that show.
- 15:50And what show was that? That was a psike? Okay yeah.
- 15:52Christopher Cross is seventy three. He's had three top ten hits, including ride
- 15:58like the Win, Arthur's theme and sailing. Greg Gumble, formerly of CBS,
- 16:04is seventy eight. Wow. Really no, actually, I'm sorry.
- 16:08He's still working for a CBS doing the NFL and NCAA game seventy eight years
- 16:12old, still doing the broadcast thing. That's the Greg Gumble Look, Bryant
- 16:18and Greg Gumble, that's right. Yeah. Greg Gumbel was the play by
- 16:22play guy and Bryant Gumbel was the very pretentious anchor. B Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:29He was in the news last week. I don't know. I didn't
- 16:30read the story, but there was something about him being that apparently he was
- 16:33just a dick. Oh yeah, but does he still do? Is Real
- 16:37Sports still a thing anyone? I don't know, Okay, I have no
- 16:41idea. I know HBO is not even a thing anymore though, I mean,
- 16:45I don't know what they did with Real sports seventy eight Wow, okay.
- 16:48I always hated though, how they like, you'd have these really talented
- 16:53and respected reporters. Pulitz are prize winners in their field, right, they
- 16:57go and do this serious, wonderful piece, uh for Real Sports, and
- 17:04then they after the piece is done, they cut to the studio and it's
- 17:10like they're it's like they've just presented their report and the teacher is Bryant Gumbel
- 17:15making sure they did a good job afterwards. Yeah. I just when I
- 17:21would see them, I would not think athletics, the Gumbles. They didn't
- 17:26like one. You said play by play, I'm like, he doesn't look
- 17:30like he's ever done that sport. No, no, no, there's a
- 17:33difference between play by play and the color commentary. Color commentary is typically the
- 17:37guy that used to play the play by play is the guy that's just telling
- 17:41you what he sees with a really good voice. Oh God, I gotcha,
- 17:45Okay, because I just they they just didn't seem didn't in Living Color
- 17:49make fun of the Gumbles. Did they have a thing where was like Damon
- 17:53Wayans and somebody else was, Oh, I thought, I don't. I
- 17:59don't know if the banded Living Color ever really dipped their toes in that type
- 18:02of Plenty of people have taken shots at them over the years, so it
- 18:06wouldn't surprise me. Well seventy eight, good for him. Uh, okay,
- 18:11it's kind of stunned by that age. Well, he's probably stunned by
- 18:15our ages as well. Like, and I don't know if you I don't
- 18:22know if you saw, but there's actually been quite a bit of turnover at
- 18:23CBS because they actually on their NFL Today pregame show, which I saw one
- 18:29headline referred to as iconic for some reason, they have finally moved on from
- 18:33the pasty translucent twins Phil Simms and Boomer as Siasin are no longer a part
- 18:40of the CBS. Yes, but who do they replace them with? The
- 18:44new age pasty translucent quarterback in Ryan Matt Ryan, and uh, who's the
- 18:52other one, jj Watt jj Watt. Yeah, there you go. It
- 18:56just doesn't get whiter. I love the Watt family because it's JJ Watt,
- 19:03TJ Watt and then the other brothers just David. Parents gave up on that
- 19:08one. No, he didn't want to be DJ Watt. Sounds like a
- 19:12terrible DJ name, DJ Watt. He's like, no, I'm David.
- 19:18Actually, I think that's the name you should want of all of them.
- 19:22Yeah, he's like, I'm good with David. Well, the downside would
- 19:26be it's like, you know, uh, JJ Watt NFL starred him,
- 19:30t J Watt NFL started, but the name like DJ Watt. You're going
- 19:33to be relegated to you know, wedding DJ with that NFL NFL Caesar's Caesar's
- 19:41Pool party. All I can think about is, you know, one of
- 19:44the Kronkowski brothers is going what did you name me? DJ? Careful?
- 19:52I don't want to mix in too much sports around here, because if you
- 19:55do that, you have a tendency to get kicked around. You're listening to
- 20:03the Treehouse. Visit us online at treehouseonair dot com. Let's talk to Jacqueline

- 22:33is time to welcome into the tree house Kaylin from Pause in the City.
- 22:37It's been a while, so Kaylen, welcome back inside. Yeah that was
- 22:42that. You were way too excited there. Oh I'm sorry, hey,
- 22:47guys. Even more she went the opposite way there, So Kaylen from Pausing
- 22:52the City, she sent me a message like, hey, we got some
- 22:56new dogs that we need to get adopted, so we'd be happy to do
- 23:00that for you. And before we get to those new wonderful dogs available for
- 23:03adoption and fostering from Pause in the City the website Pause Incity dot org,
- 23:07we need to hit Vermafest. So what is new Kaitlin with Vermfest give us
- 23:11an update. Yeah, so we already let you guys know a few weeks
- 23:15ago that we have Drying Pool headlining. We have quite a few other local
- 23:21bands that have joined the party. We have Vain Warhog, Earworm, and
- 23:26the Mad Mexicans. Do you know why they're mad? No, but white
- 23:40people in general, if I get up before we introduce them, make for
- 23:51some interesting album art, that's for sure. There's a good chance to get
- 23:56creative there or that. Now. Also, we did mention last time that
- 24:00we're going to be doing a pre party at Three Nations Brewing in Carrollton that
- 24:06will be dog friendly, so make sure you bring some pups with you.
- 24:10And when exactly is Vermifest. So that's on June fifteenth, and we're going
- 24:15to be at Three Nations from one to four. Awesome, that's the pre
- 24:18party. Yep. We're also gonna have some live music there, so like
- 24:25it. It is a true pre game, like you come, have some
- 24:29beer, pet some dogs, get you know, get some live music fixed
- 24:33before you go. Instead of having to use like an amp up playlist,
- 24:38you can just come see live music. So we're gonna have some of those
- 24:42bands. It's last Hearts Beats and Temperant Sons and the Bethany Rose Band very
- 24:49cool and Temperant Sons. It's fun band names. That has to be one
- 24:53of the one of the fun things about having a band is sitting around and
- 24:56figuring out, Okay, what are we going to call ourselves? Yeah,
- 25:00Motley Crue Nicky six Pitched Christmas. That was his name for the band.
- 25:07He's like, it's already got, it's already got great branding. Dan,
- 25:11you've been in a band? How'd that name come about? Very very megalamoniacally
- 25:23it was. It was narcissism just yeah, a little sprinkle. It was
- 25:30like narcissism Bay just so Vermafest June fifteenth. He got the pre game or
- 25:41the pre show at Three Nations Brewing in Like I said that right brewing?
- 25:45Yeah, uh, Three Nations Brewery in Carrollton. That starts at one o'clock
- 25:52and then Veremfest itself with the Mad Mexicans Vein War Hog and and that's at
- 26:00the Factory with Drowning Pool headlining. Hell yeah, yeah, what's under the
- 26:04doors open for that? I'm sorry, what's under the doors open at the
- 26:08factory for the main show? That is a great question. I have not
- 26:14seen that posted yet. I bet it's sixth I will double check. I
- 26:18feel like stuff like that that we do usually starts around like six or seven.
- 26:22Yeah, but uh for shows, shows for concerts and things doors are
- 26:26typically around six. The good thing is you can always hit the website to
- 26:30get more info. Pause in Thecity dot org and of course, proceeds from
- 26:34Vermifest will go directly to Pause in the City, which helps to foster and
- 26:41adopt dogs and need to rescue throughout North Texas and Caylin. You said you
- 26:47got some new ones that have been brought in to Pause in the City,
- 26:49so well, give us a couple who needs to be adopted right now from
- 26:52Pause in the City. Yeah. Well, if you're tuning in to watch
- 26:57us, I have some news you'll actually you'll be able to see some of
- 27:03our adaptable dogs at the moment. Like I said, we've had a couple
- 27:07of pretty good sized intakes lately. We have everything from young to senior dogs,
- 27:14all sizes. It really doesn't do them justice. I'll talk to you
- 27:18about them a little bit, but please go check them out. The first
- 27:23one to me is a total eyecatcher. Her name is Bella. She's a
- 27:26young Schnauzer mix. She's up here in your top left hand corner if you
- 27:32zoom in. She has a blue eye and a brown eye, and she's
- 27:37got she's mostly black. She's got just a little white spot on her chest
- 27:41and a couple of her toes, and then she's got like white gray mixed
- 27:45in on the tips of her ears and right on the top of her head,
- 27:48almost like she has a little mohawk going on. She's super cute.
- 27:52She will fit right in at the Drowning Pool vermifest show. Exactly what I
- 27:56was thinking. And then last time we talked about Cochie, we still have
- 28:00Cochi and Enzo and they're super cute. They both look like palm mixes.
- 28:06They're also black, got a couple of white spots, but definitely go check
- 28:11them out. We we also, I don't know if you've noticed that we
- 28:15have a cat at the moment, Monica. The big thing is I didn't
- 28:18want to go too far into depth about any single dog at the moment.
- 28:22I want to get you all some videos so that we can see them,
- 28:25but I wanted you to see you know, a while back, people were
- 28:27saying we're seeing the same dogs. You know, well, let's get them
- 28:32adopted. We'll have some new dogs. So we've been having some luck.
- 28:34It's amazing the things that people will find time to complain about. I know,
- 28:37we saved, we saved some dogs. Now we have saved some new
- 28:41dogs, so please go and check them out. They are super cute.
- 28:45We have a couple of chihualas. So if Daisy needs a boyfriend, man,
- 28:52I don't know, if I don't know, if Trey is willing to
- 28:56share the bed with a second I will say, though, I will say
- 29:00if you if you go to Pasinthcity dot org, there's a black and white
- 29:03Chihuahua mix there right there named Blake and Blake, interestingly enough, looks a
- 29:10lot like our black and white chihuahua Bella. Yeah. Oh interesting. He's
- 29:15he's super cute. He like like he's smiling. He's got the little Chihuahua
- 29:22smile. Oh yeah. So okay, So lots of dogs available for adoption
- 29:27from Pause in the City. You can also foster, right, yeah.
- 29:33Absolutely. Our biggest pushes right now are going to be, you know,
- 29:37pretty similar to what we talked about before. The big one right now is
- 29:41donations. You know, all of our donations, like we said, it
- 29:45was what ninety ninety eight percent of everything goes to the dogs. So you
- 29:49know, keep in mind, it does get kind of costly to rescue.
- 29:55You know, we cover you know, your your microchips, We cover space
- 30:00and utering, We do all of their medical expenses until they are adopted.
- 30:04We you know, we go through the hard work of making sure that they
- 30:07are in good health before they get to you, to you know, avoid
- 30:11the possibility of I don't know if many of you have had this experience.
- 30:15The last shelter dog I adopted, she's great. We love her. They
- 30:21did not go through everything at the shelter that they were supposed to run by
- 30:25the city. So she came to us with health issues that we're supposed to
- 30:30have been taking care of it weren't, and that can get quite costly.
- 30:33Thank goodness for pet insurance. But you know, we we mitigate that as
- 30:37much as possible for you. The other great thing is is you know,
- 30:41some of those donations go towards the fostering as far as you know, if
- 30:47you say, hey, I would like to foster dogs, see how it
- 30:51goes. I'm not really sure I want a dog you know, permanently,
- 30:53but let's just see how it goes. We will continue to cover all of
- 30:57their medical expense and we pay for their food and stuff. So, you
- 31:02know, it's a great way to kind of do a trial run to see.
- 31:07Now it will warn you most of our people have ended up as foster
- 31:08fails because they end up just loving the dog that they that they choose to
- 31:15foster. But that's obviously not a bad thing. Yeah, you can.
- 31:18You can rent to rescue at Adopted at Pause in the City. Okay,
- 31:22So we've got Vermafest coming up June fifteenth. You got the pre party at
- 31:26Three Nations Brewing. Am I still not saying that right? Brewing? Three
- 31:32Nations Brewing Brewing Brewing pre party June fifteen, starting at one o'clock at Three
- 31:38Nations Brewing. There we go. Then you've got probably doors at six at
- 31:44the Factory in deep Ellum for the main show with all the big bands,
- 31:48including the headliner Drowning Pool. So that's Vermifest. And when you get your
- 31:52tickets for Vermafest, which benefits Pause in the City, you can also use
- 31:56our coupon code Treehouse ten. Use our coupon code Treehouse ten and you get
- 32:01a little bit shaped off the top of that, which is which is not
- 32:05a bad thing. So there you have it. Sorry about that. So
- 32:08we are doing that discount code for merch. So if you want some pos
- 32:14merch t shirts stuff like that, go check it out. Like awesome.
- 32:19Yeah, the Treehouse ten in all caps will get you ten percent off all
- 32:23your paws merch. That is very very cool, good deal. So there
- 32:28you have it. That's all the info that I think you need right now
- 32:30for Vermafest as far as dogs and such, Caitlin, any other dogs that
- 32:35need rescuing. You know, I'm sure there are quite a few dogs that
- 32:38still need rescuing. But I did hear about a radio show that was a
- 32:42needs amount. If you're listening to the Treehouse visitors online that Treehouse on Air
- 32:58dot com. Let's get Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration into the
- 33:10Treehouse now for your free roof inspection. Give him a call eight three three
- 33:15cook DFW the website cookdfw dot com. I saw a headline recently and it
- 33:19made me think of you, Daniel and your lovely wife Carrie. There was
- 33:22a massive argument and the girlfriend grabbed a fork and stabbed her boyfriend in the
- 33:25butt with it. She called it a light pope. The boyfriend told the
- 33:29police, no, that was a full on stabbing. My question to you
- 33:31today is have you ever done something that made Carrie want to stab you in
- 33:36the butt with a fork? Carrie has stabbed me in the butt with the
- 33:38fork. Oh whatever, But luckily I have a very muscular butt because I
- 33:46climb ladders and I run and stuff like that. So hey, it was
- 33:51not able to penetrate the gluteus maximus. That's truly a false statement. But
- 33:58yes, at the end of the day, I mean things could happen.
- 34:00I mean, relationships are tough and and things that you don't think that might
- 34:05be a something detrimental to your partners health or safety. I mean, you
- 34:10just what do they call it? What do they call it? When you
- 34:15when you kill and passion? It's a crime of passion, crime of passion,
- 34:19That's that's my whole point. Not necessarily a crime, but you're just
- 34:22trying to have a little bit of fun with your partner and some things get
- 34:24out of control sometimes. That's why again, there's that's why they make safe
- 34:28words. That does make sense and uh, that's smart to do. And
- 34:32that's also an interesting angle. It's like, well, you know, if
- 34:37you love each other, you'll occasionally, you know, stab each other.
- 34:39Also, if you love each other, you'll get your roof inspected by the
- 34:43Cooks forks. They'll they'll leave those at home eight three three cook d f

- 35:36is Brooks Plumbing two one fourth three six eight thirty eight thirty eight Brooks Plumbing,
- 35:38Texas dot com. Big news in the world, Let's get to it
- 35:45and one of the biggest stories of the week, and I don't think I
- 35:50can, uh, you know, really sell that short on any level?
- 35:58Is this? People spent eight hundred dollars on pea stained jens. Yes,
- 36:06and not only did they buy them for eight hundred dollars, but they sold
- 36:09out. A designer clothing brand in the UK called Jordan Luca debuted their pre
- 36:16stained genes that make it look like you peed your pants and they actually they
- 36:23were actually there for the Milan Fashion show. So the pea stained jeans had
- 36:30were a part of a runway show last year, and then when the jeans
- 36:34hit the website, they sold out, selling for about eight hundred dollars.
- 36:38Us. Pea stain jens are sold out, So if you're looking for some
- 36:44and you can't find them, you may just have to do it yourself.
- 36:49So how do you tell the difference between a pair of five oho ones that
- 36:53you know grandpa wore and these high fashion geens. I'm gonna go smell.
- 37:00We must smell. The one thing I do not know about the pea stained
- 37:04genes is, and this might be a benefit of them, is you get
- 37:07all the look of pea stained denim without any of the moisture and the smell.
- 37:15That is correct. It is it is pre pissed on before it gets
- 37:20to you. That is where I guess I'm assuming that's where the cost shoots
- 37:24up. Is somebody has to pee on it for you and then and then
- 37:30dry it out and then it gets to you. For eight hundred dollars,
- 37:35you can look like a lot of people in Uptown about two fifteen in the
- 37:39morning. Look a lot of us were trailblazers that didn't even know it,
- 37:50Like telling the police officers, you understand, in like ten years, this
- 37:53is gonna be all their age. You're gonna pay one hundred dollars for this.
- 37:57You're gonna pay a thousand dollars right now, eight for pea stained genes.
- 38:05And in other news, hang on order to go, I gotta find
- 38:12this, uh do do? Oh? Yeah, this one's Are you guys
- 38:15afraid? What are you? What is your weirdest fear or not weirdest fear?
- 38:19What is your what do you have a phobia about? Phobia? Yeah?
- 38:22Do you guys have any phobias? All right, I'm just ask that
- 38:30again one at a time. Trade Do you have any phobias? Yeah?
- 38:32I mean claustrophobic. Claustrophobic okay, type spaces uh raj? What about you?
- 38:37I have a fear of heights, me too. I wonder if your
- 38:44fear of heights is as illogical as mine, because while I have nightmares about
- 38:50extreme heights and those terrifying me. Are you aware of blue holes? M
- 38:58God? This is not a set up for some sort of blue awful thing.
- 39:01It's just a blue hole in the ocean. You have you heard of
- 39:06those blue holes? I can't say I've researched that category. A. Well,
- 39:14blue holes exist. You've seen them. You just may not realize it.
- 39:16It's where in the ocean, in various places around the world, there's
- 39:21just a big hole and you can't see the bottom of it that goes all
- 39:24the way down someplace. Okay, Well, the largest ever discovered blue hole
- 39:30is one point three thousand feet deep so far, and I say so far
- 39:36because scientists haven't even reached the bottom of it yet. It's off the off
- 39:40the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, and they've identified what could potentially be the deepest
- 39:45known blue hole in the world, extending so far down that the bottom has
- 39:50not yet been reached. The device they use to test these blue holes.
- 39:55The longest that they go to right now is one thousand, three hundred and
- 40:00eighty feet, And so that's how they know this blue hole is at least
- 40:04that deep, because it didn't hit bottom, it just stopped, because that's
- 40:07where the slack got taught that it is. And I am terrified of these
- 40:14things. There is no way in hell, even though I can just float
- 40:16across it, that I would ever swim across one. I don't understand what
- 40:22it is the blue hole. Yeah, you said, it's just a hole.
- 40:27Yeah, it's just a hole that goes into the earth, and they
- 40:30don't know where there is. There is some speculation, Well there's some speculation
- 40:35that somewhere when you get down to the bottom, that there could be a
- 40:38series of caves and things under the ocean. But it's still water. Yeah.
- 40:45Well yeah, but it's also extremely dangerous for people, not because you
- 40:51know, you can't you know, we can't breathe water, but it's also
- 40:54I think hydrogen sulfide is at an extremely high amount in these blue holes.
- 41:02Yeah, hydrogen sulfide. Okay, I just need to see it for myself,
- 41:07so I'm gonna look it up blue hole, man, that's not something
- 41:13you want to type into blue holes. It's yeah, well yeah, a
- 41:17blue hole, Yeah, blue hole, got it. There's a blue hole
- 41:22National Park. Okay, Okay, now I see it, so it is,
- 41:28yes, but there's a The picture that I have is somebody's boat going
- 41:31across it. Yeah. I wouldn't do that either, because in my iological
- 41:37mind, that's when whatever lives down there is going to come up and eat
- 41:39me. Oh gotcha. So you think there's stuff in the blue hole?
- 41:45Yeah? And then also I'm worried about getting sucked into it. Oh does
- 41:49it? Does it have a pole? Does it? No? No idea?
- 41:52Okay, I just know that it seems like the beginning of a disaster
- 41:57slash horror film. And I'm not swimming across one. Got you. But
- 42:00there's not one anywhere near you. I don't know. I think there might
- 42:06be, because there's a few of them around the Caribbean, but I don't
- 42:08know where the nearest one to me is. Yeah. See, heights,
- 42:14I understand like that. You can find heights like you can go. I
- 42:17mean, you can be in a building like I used to live in Uptown.
- 42:21I used to live on the eleventh floor of the Renaissance, and I
- 42:25had insane nightmares of falling off my balcony constantly. So when I would even
- 42:35step up, it was an entertainment sized balconies. What they what they boasted
- 42:38and when I would go out on the balcony, hang on what what kind
- 42:43of entertainment? Uh? Well, when they when the when they were showing
- 42:47the place, it was like, you can have a party and you can
- 42:51entertain on your balcony. Okay, so it's not like entertainment size, meaning
- 42:55it's so small when you go out, you immediately fall off of it.
- 42:59Therefore it's entertaining for the right. But this was it was a very very
- 43:05big balcony and I would have my back against the sliding last door. That's
- 43:08the only way I could go out there is if I didn't look straight down.
- 43:13Yeah, I just can't. Even in my head, I can still
- 43:15see it. And the other one that fed me up pretty good was The
- 43:20Dark Night in Imax, because the very beginning is the scene is the is
- 43:25the shot that goes over Gotham. Oh yeah, and Imax, that almost
- 43:31I almost threw up. Don't don't ever watch Free Solo. What is that?
- 43:37It's a documentary about mountain climbing, like, no, no, no,
- 43:42no it it has some shots that even gave me vertigo. Yeah,
- 43:46no, no. But do you know why they call it free solo raj
- 43:51No. It's because it's not just mountain climbing, which is already to meet
- 43:54gut churning right on its own. Yeah, but free solo means your reclimbing,
- 44:00which means no ropes. Oh okay, no carabineers, no nets.
- 44:05Yeah, complete free climbing, and the solo part of that means buy your
- 44:12self nice. So it's just white dudes that die eventually. I just I
- 44:22want to sit down with just a room of just different ages of white people
- 44:27and go, what are you guys just bored with life? You know,
- 44:30like, how can we funck this up more? What do you guys doing?
- 44:37Like they're Everest, right, everybody wants to climb Everest. The people
- 44:42there don't want to. Yeah. People, when you climb Everest, the
- 44:49people in Nepaul are like what why what you surfers are like, we have
- 44:55to. This is how we survive. Yeah. The It is interesting because
- 45:02you've got people that will climb mountains without any ropes and do so by themselves,
- 45:09hints free solo. Yes, it does make you think. Okay,
- 45:14they had to have checked off everything on their bucket list beforehand, right,
- 45:17because yeah, that's the last thing you do, like you you don't,
- 45:23that's not the first thing you try, right, just in case you suck
- 45:27at it. Yeah, I just don't. Like I bucket list is a
- 45:30thing in the last thirty years that has coming. I think it is because
- 45:34of the movie. But I like, I don't have one of those.
- 45:37Like I don't want to bungee jump. I don't. I don't want to
- 45:40skydive. I'm good my whole life. I've been taught to stay inside the
- 45:45plane. Why am I? Why am I going? Gets everything I've been
- 45:50taught. I'm good. I don't know what you need it for. Like
- 45:53like it was like I'm gonna go skydive on my fiftieth birthday. No,
- 45:57I'm okay, I don't need at least that. That's where I credited uh
- 46:02Bush the Elder, like he waited until he turned ninety before or eighty before
- 46:07he before he jumped out of a plane. He's like, I've done head
- 46:10to see I am. I mean, I've done lots of great things in
- 46:13my life now is a good time that if I die falling out of this
- 46:15plane. I'm pretty sure part of him was like, I hope I die
- 46:20falling out of this plane. I hope the shoot doesn't open. I'm sure
- 46:25part of that was that actually, didn't he he like got shot down?
- 46:29Didn't he? Like? Yes? Yeah, so yeah. I mean I
- 46:35think at that point it's like, you know, yes, good already,
- 46:38you've already you skydived before this against your will. Yeah. Once, once
- 46:45was out of necessity. Once was three hundred dollars. I don't want to
- 46:52do like I don't. Our friend Jason James, we have a former comedian.
- 46:59He doesn't do it anymore, but his body. They were in Sturgis
- 47:02and they were leaving and there was a bungeee thing there and it was closing
- 47:07for the season. So that means the regular guy wasn't I'm not even making
- 47:10this up. He was closing and and they stopped and it's his buddy's brother
- 47:15was like, I'm gonna do this, and the guy's like, we're closing.
- 47:20There was they had already deflated the whatever what's that called the airbag?
- 47:25They had already deflated that the thing that's sposed to the question. Yes,
- 47:32I like to call it the savior. Uh. He went up in the
- 47:37thing and the guy hit the wrong button and dropped the entire bucket with the
- 47:40guy in it, broke his legs, his pelvis shattered his I mean everything,
- 47:47and I'm like, you know that, And he had signed off all
- 47:51the waivers. The guy was like, this is my I'm new I'm the
- 47:54one who closes it down. I don't know how to but okay, and
- 47:58just hit the wrong thing. That you will never in your I can promise
- 48:01you as long as you know me, Dan, you'll never come on the
- 48:04air and go. We have some bad news today, Ron Sharma, our
- 48:07friend comedian died in a bungee jumping accent. It will never happens if I
- 48:15died in a bungee jumping accent. I owe somebody money. That was That
- 48:19was not an accident. That was a murder. That's a homicide. I
- 48:22don't ski. I don't need to fly down a mountain. I'm good.
- 48:28I let I don't know what you guys have a problem with earth. I'm
- 48:30good with it like I'm good with the ground. Gravity always wins. It's
- 48:37undefeated, and I have enough challenges with gravity while I'm just on the ground
- 48:45normally same. I don't need, I don't need to add difficulty to it.
- 48:49No, I don't. I don't ever look at a mountain and go
- 48:52I want to climb that. No, I'm like, that is beautiful.
- 48:54That's that's the work of erosion and millions of years. Well, you know,
- 49:00although, although I will say this, while I am not a dared
- 49:04devil, my choicing career was a little idiotic because choosing to do radio for
- 49:13now over twenty five years, yes, is not the most sane decision.
- 49:17Is it the same? It's not the same as you know, climbing a
- 49:23mountain without any ropes or anything like that. But it's it's its own level
- 49:28of insanity. And I'm not the only one. There are others out there
- 49:30that have made the valiant attempt to do great things on the radio. Yeah,
- 49:35like being a recovering alcoholic running a bar. See that's true enough,
- 49:40That's that's your Everest And and Trey's at the top once a week. Go
- 49:46here. My name's Trey, and I keep climbing Everest great. And then
- 49:52then there's me, I'm Dan, and I keep I keep doing the radio
- 49:55thing, and other people have done it too, and so much so that
- 50:00you know, things happen in radio, and things don't always go according to
- 50:05your plan. As some other people found out recently, I was wondering,
- 50:14well, so I just want to address this very quickly because I don't want
- 50:17to get into it. A whole lot we don't. I saw someone on
- 50:22our Patreon commented saying, it's like I'm saying something like, I'm surprised you
- 50:27have nothing to say about ninety seven to one. I don't. Okay,
- 50:31not having anything to say and choosing to say nothing are two vastly different things.
- 50:37Right. Number one, we don't really need to say anything because we're
- 50:42doing our thing and that's our focus. And on top of that, listeners
- 50:51are already saying stuff for us. We don't need to say anything that a
- 50:54bunch of people are already saying. So I haven't commented on anything. I've
- 51:00seen a bunch of the and I and to all those guys, you guys
- 51:02are awesome for doing that. Like a lot of the fan pages and a
- 51:06lot of just people in general. I've gotten a lot of I don't know
- 51:08if you guys have, I've gotten a lot of messages from listeners as well,
- 51:12like so do you guys think And I'm like, I'm just not and
- 51:15it's not it's intentional. I'm not answering you. I hope you're aware of
- 51:19that. I'm intentionally not answering you because I just it's nothing to to answer.
- 51:23But it is pretty bad ass to have rock back in Dallas, because
- 51:28God was just see it's badass for you, Raj. But you know it's
- 51:32Uh, there's some some people took the format flip from ninety seven to one
- 51:38back to the Eagle pretty hard, so much so that apparently some folks have
- 51:44resorted to calling nine one one about them. No, do we have that?
- 51:50Oh of course, yeah, we got it from our I'm not going
- 51:53to tease something and then not deliver it Treehouse nine one one. What's your
- 51:58emergency order? Murder? Oh my goodness, that's terrible. Can you tell
- 52:02me what happened? Well, it just happened, and I'm really sad about
- 52:07it, so it might take me a while to get it all out.
- 52:08Honey. This isn't a talk station, so you better get to it.
- 52:12There's about to be another Eagle free flight. What on ninety that's where they

- 52:38it. There's about to be another Eagle free flight. What on ninety seven
- 52:43to one The Eagle. That's where they play a bunch of songs in a
- 52:45row without any commercials. Well, that's why I'm calling. I used to
- 52:47work there, and a bunch of people work behind my back to change the
- 52:52format of the radio station. Hmm, this sounds familiar. Is this the
- 52:55first time this has happened? Oh? Can you think of some other reason
- 53:00and examples of radio stations changing formats? Uh, there was Live one O
- 53:04five three one O three point three ESPN Radio oh in ninety seven to one
- 53:08the Eagle. Hmm, that's an interesting string of stations at the top of
- 53:12your head. How did you know all those? Well? Uh, I
- 53:16worked at all those woll whoa, whoa. You worked at all of those
- 53:20stations before they flipped formats, and you worked there after they flipped formats,
- 53:27well, a couple of them. Okay, I think I know what's going
- 53:30on here. Is this a confession. No, I didn't kill all those

- 54:07go anywhere else. And one more thing, it's not right what you did
- 54:10to that old man, mm m mmmmm. And one more thing, it's
- 54:24not right what you did to that old man Mike Reiner Feller, kidnapping him
- 54:30from that ticket retirement home, propping him up on a microphone and telling him
- 54:34it was the ticket all over again. There's a special place in hell for
- 54:37people like you and the Nigerians who like the scam old people. Sure it
