- 0:21her chicken coop, along with all her chickens.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:32So today I have a quote for you from Marcus Aurelius.
- 0:35When you arise in the morning, think of what a privilege it is
- 0:40to be alive, to think, to enjoy, and to love.
- 0:44Now, obviously our our resident rooster had to crow right in the
- 0:48middle of that, which I think is funny.
- 0:49However, he's continuing to do it because that's what he loves
- 0:54to do. That quote, how often do you
- 0:58actually wake up in the morning thinking what a privilege it is
- 1:01to be alive and to enjoy your day and to think about all those
- 1:05happy things? I mean, I know for sure for me,
- 1:10I can tell you just as a human, I don't wake up like that every
- 1:13day. I mean, I wish I woke up like
- 1:15that every day and I can work to wake up like that more days.
- 1:18But do I actually wake up like that every day?
- 1:21No. I would be telling you a big
- 1:23story if I told you that it was true that I did, that I work on
- 1:27waking up and being once I'm up and I'm moving around and going,
- 1:31you know, through the mourning processes I'm in, doing my
- 1:35routines and getting my head straight.
- 1:37But are the first thoughts that I have when I wake up in the
- 1:40morning that absolutely not. And it's a goal to to get to
- 1:45that point because I think that he was right all those many,
- 1:49many, many years ago. He was right, and probably even
- 1:53more right now than ever to have it be that way.
- 1:57You know, part of my joy, part of my Wellness routine is to be
- 2:03out with the chickens. That's why we shoot the podcast
- 2:06from the chicken coop. And as I sit here with all of
- 2:08them surrounding me, that's, that's a joy that I can't be in
- 2:13to express. But that happens quite a bit
- 2:16after I actually wake up. So when you, when I hear this
- 2:20quote, when I read this and was getting ready to come out and
- 2:22you know, take care of them and shoot the podcast, I started
- 2:26thinking, I'm going to talk about this because I think it's
- 2:28such a, an important factor that I might be missing out on myself
- 2:33because it's not something that I actually concentrate on.
- 2:37So putting it out to everybody, think we need to concentrate on
- 2:41this now. How do we incorporate this?
- 2:43How do we put make this work? So for myself, I'm just going to
- 2:46talk about this exactly like how I'm putting it in my own head.
- 2:49I'm going to be taking this on as I open my eyes, I'm still
- 2:54lying in bed and I'm going to say what a joy it is to be in my
- 2:58body and be present. What a joy it is to wake up,
- 3:01just simply wake up and know I'm present in my own body once
- 3:07again. And I'm going to start with
- 3:09something simple and then I might move up further in it
- 3:13where I'm thinking all the positivity I'm bringing in in
- 3:17the day. But I think it's super important
- 3:19just to start with what a joy it is to wake up.
- 3:22You layer it. You start off with something
- 3:24simple. You layer, you layer, you layer.
- 3:26And as you go up, up, up, you start to feel even more, you
- 3:30know, entangled with the goodness that that brings to
- 3:34you. As I sit here and I'm recording
- 3:37this, I have a little chick that some of you who have signed up
- 3:41for the newsletter will probably have seen Gladys.
- 3:44And Gladys loves to sit next. She loves my phone.
- 3:47She's obsessed with my phone. And I record the podcast on my
- 3:50phone. She's just sitting here staring
- 3:52at the phone while I'm recording, trying to figure it
- 3:55all out. And what a joy that brings to
- 3:57me. So as I think about that, like,
- 4:00you know, the joy that comes from all these little things is
- 4:04what we have to wake up with and take to our days.
- 4:08So this is a short and sweet one this morning because it's just
- 4:11about turning ourselves into that.
- 4:13So tomorrow when you wake up, try that.
- 4:16I'm I'm just grateful to be awake.
- 4:18What a joy it is to be awake and just start with that.
- 4:21And then I'm going to add on what a joy it is to come out and
- 4:24see my chickens. What a joy it is to have a
- 4:27chicken like Gladys who is so excited.
- 4:30What a joy it is to be able to have a farm and animals to take
- 4:34care of, and what a joy it is to have a place that I can grow
- 4:37flowers and vegetables and the list could go on and on.
- 4:42So I challenge you guys to find yours and add that in and see
- 4:46where it takes us. All right, my friends, I hope
- 4:48you have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 4:51Bye.
