- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you for your help.
- 4:32Speaker 1: In thank you. Okay again, we are in season six.
- 4:37Speaker 1: We are on episode three of Sister Wives. This episode
- 4:41Speaker 1: entitled big Boy Pennies, Big Boy panties because Cody's got
- 4:46Speaker 1: to put them big boy panties on if he wants this.
- 4:49Speaker 1: My Sister Wives closets work, he do.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I don't know about you what, but I am currently
- 4:55Speaker 1: envisioning Cody and panties.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Like Little Lacey Victoriously. Yes, not like briefs or anything
- 5:03Speaker 2: that like women's under that.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Dude would wear like women's underwear. My god, maybe he
- 5:08Speaker 1: looks great.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Maybe that's where all of Robin Brown's Victoria's secret money.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Well, oh my gosh, two and two equals four. That
- 5:14Speaker 1: makes perfect sense. All right, let's get into us all right.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Well, we start off strong with a Mormon meeting at
- 5:22Speaker 2: Mary's house talking about my sister wives closet and their
- 5:25Speaker 2: absolute failure. Who of an expo in Saint George, Utah.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Well, I mean they were disadvantaged, Beatrice, because in case
- 5:34Speaker 1: you forgot Sat George has a history with Mormons and stuff,
- 5:39Speaker 1: because it's right there in Utah. Yeah, you have some
- 5:41Speaker 1: of them polygamous in the city or whatever, and you
- 5:43Speaker 1: have people who are against polygamy. So the Browns were
- 5:47Speaker 1: disadvantaged when they were going to Saint George. Yeah, but
- 5:50Speaker 1: a different expo might be better. Yeah, it might be
- 5:54Speaker 1: a complete success.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Like a Christmas bazaar in Las Vegas, which they go
- 5:59Speaker 2: to later, which will talk about later. But in this
- 6:02Speaker 2: Mormon meeting with Mary or at Mary's house, sorry, Christine
- 6:07Speaker 2: says to Robin, you know what, I realized that I
- 6:11Speaker 2: actually don't want a job and I don't want to
- 6:13Speaker 2: work in real estate, and I would love to invest
- 6:16Speaker 2: more time in my sister's closet. And Robin's like yay, okay,
- 6:20Speaker 2: my favorite sister wife gets to join in.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Which equals Cody must have had a sit down conversation
- 6:28Speaker 1: with Christine where he told her you better get shited together.
- 6:32Speaker 1: This is Robin's dream. This is a dream that was
- 6:36Speaker 1: inspired by God himself. Yeah, and so you need to
- 6:40Speaker 1: get in here, pull your weight back and help Robin
- 6:46Speaker 1: so that she can help this family succeed.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, totally.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So Christine's like, okay, sure, I'm willing to help.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Well, and she does come up with a pretty good
- 6:55Speaker 2: idea of making T shirts right with their Sister Wives
- 7:00Speaker 2: logo on there.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Which we have discussed over for weeks at this point,
- 7:06Speaker 1: not having known. I personally did not know that Christine
- 7:10Speaker 1: was going to come up with this idea. This was
- 7:11Speaker 1: our idea because we're not stupid people, and we see
- 7:14Speaker 1: the landscape out there, and you can make merch. We
- 7:16Speaker 1: should totally make merch.
- 7:17Speaker 2: We should want I've been making merching. Well, we're not
- 7:20Speaker 2: We're not producing.
- 7:23Speaker 1: If we were one of the Sister Wives, if I
- 7:26Speaker 1: was on a show on TLC, do you know how
- 7:29Speaker 1: much merch I would be producing and selling. So Christine
- 7:32Speaker 1: has this brilliant idea, like, let's just do something. Shirts
- 7:36Speaker 1: cost not like a whole lot of overhead. Let's do
- 7:40Speaker 1: some T shirts, yea, And Cody turns to her on
- 7:43Speaker 1: that couch and says, I don't want to sully our
- 7:47Speaker 1: brand with some frumpy clothing.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah. And Janelle even says the same thing. She's like, Yeah,
- 7:53Speaker 2: I don't know if our logo is ready for sale,
- 7:56Speaker 2: but what about an apron with.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Our logo on? With our logo as it is right now?
- 8:00Speaker 2: And Cody's like, that's a great idea. An apron would
- 8:03Speaker 2: be perfect for my sister R's closet. I'm like, you
- 8:06Speaker 2: guys are so fucking stupid. It's literally the name in
- 8:09Speaker 2: the name. It's a closet. What's in a closet? Clothes, yeah, aprons? Right,
- 8:14Speaker 2: jewelry yeah, not jewelry no.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But and here's the problem, Like, you guys are starting
- 8:20Speaker 1: this business and there's no cohesive through line with your products,
- 8:24Speaker 1: Like is it jewelry? Is it cooking stuff? Is it aprons?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Is it T shirts? Is it key chains? Is it
- 8:31Speaker 1: truck or hat?
- 8:32Speaker 2: What are you guys doing?
- 8:33Speaker 1: It doesn't make any sense.
- 8:34Speaker 2: None of it makes any sense. And then when we
- 8:36Speaker 2: go to the expo and we see the prices of
- 8:38Speaker 2: their shit, that really doesn't make any sense.
- 8:41Speaker 1: No, it does not.
- 8:42Speaker 2: But Cody calls Christine's idea of T shirts frumpy, meaning
- 8:46Speaker 2: he's also calling Christine frumpy.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I honestly, I think that's what it is. Yeah, because
- 8:51Speaker 1: T shirts are not inherently frumpy. No, everybody wears T
- 8:55Speaker 1: shirts absolutely. Yeah, So I just feel like that was
- 8:59Speaker 1: an insult directed at her.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And you notice Robin laughs at that a little bit
- 9:06Speaker 2: because it's probably Robin telling Cody, yeah, you know, Christine's
- 9:09Speaker 2: fucking fat and frumpy. She's probably saying that about all
- 9:12Speaker 2: of the wife Absolutely.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Do they have stretch marks? Yeah, because I know you
- 9:15Speaker 1: don't like stress.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I don't have stretch marks. Come fuck this break dancing
- 9:19Speaker 2: Pussie seriously, Oh my god, it's so ridiculous.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So on the couch, Christine's like, Okay, well, I wasn't
- 9:26Speaker 1: like trying to sell frumpy T shirts frumpy skirts. I
- 9:30Speaker 1: was wanting the T shirts to be cool. I don't
- 9:32Speaker 1: know what you were thinking. I was saying, yeah, but like,
- 9:35Speaker 1: thanks for just shitting all over me for absolutely no
- 9:37Speaker 1: reason when I'm trying to contribute. Honorry about it.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And it sounded like that was the first time Cody
- 9:42Speaker 2: ever like said that comment to her, and he says
- 9:45Speaker 2: it on TV on the couch in front of everybody,
- 9:48Speaker 2: like how embarrassing is that? And then Christine's like, yeah,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but Cody, you're like not marketing to everybody. You're only
- 9:54Speaker 2: marketing to a specific audience. And Cody's like, no, we
- 9:57Speaker 2: are marketing to everybody with our boss Ac jewelry.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But they're not. And when we get the X to
- 10:03Speaker 1: the expo, I know that you looked at the prices,
- 10:06Speaker 1: because we already recorded this and I learned it. Then, well,
- 10:09Speaker 1: you looked at the prices, and the prices are way
- 10:11Speaker 1: too high, way too high. And when you look at
- 10:14Speaker 1: the demographic of your audience, you're talking about regular, regular
- 10:19Speaker 1: people just watching something on TLC on a Sunday night.
- 10:22Speaker 1: We don't have four hundred dollars to buy an sw
- 10:26Speaker 1: terrible looking necklace.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Why would I ever spend my money on that?
- 10:30Speaker 1: But Cody wants to have a luxury brand. Yep, he
- 10:34Speaker 1: wants sister wives, but like rich sister wives.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. I mean you look at Cody and
- 10:40Speaker 2: how he dresses and the big ass houses and now
- 10:43Speaker 2: he's got this two point one million dollar mansion and
- 10:46Speaker 2: he's got this stupid Lexus sports car. Like he's got
- 10:49Speaker 2: the watches, yeah, the art work. He's obsessed with looking
- 10:54Speaker 2: with money, and so he thinks that's what other people
- 10:57Speaker 2: want as well. Yeh, but no, I'm watching your show.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I'd like a key chain, Yeah, I would like a cup,
- 11:02Speaker 2: a T shirt or a book. Yeah. Like simple shit,
- 11:06Speaker 2: We're simple people watching this simple show.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And you ain't rich.
- 11:09Speaker 2: You ain't. The housewives, no, you ain't.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Cives are also not rich though.
- 11:15Speaker 2: No they're not, And they're not also selling a bunch
- 11:17Speaker 2: of really expensive jewelry. They're selling like sparkling water and
- 11:21Speaker 2: also T shirts and stuff, like they know their audience.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Cody's stupid.
- 11:26Speaker 1: They're all stupid. Yeah, and this is my higher point.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Like they don't have actual business acumen, they don't have
- 11:32Speaker 1: a brand identity, they don't understand what the heck that
- 11:36Speaker 1: they're doing. No, Honestly, I think Robin just feels divinely
- 11:40Speaker 1: inspired to go out and start this business. I think
- 11:42Speaker 1: she trusts and has faith that Mormon God on Kolab
- 11:47Speaker 1: is going to bless their business and she's going to
- 11:48Speaker 1: be able to fund the entire family. Like she believes this.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I believe she believes this. Yeah, that's how I know
- 11:55Speaker 1: this woman is stupid.
- 11:58Speaker 2: She is so stupid, and why would god less demons indeed,
- 12:02Speaker 2: I mean honestly hashtag facts. And then we shift gears
- 12:06Speaker 2: a little bit and we go to Janelle, who is
- 12:09Speaker 2: going to get away in again with her personal trainer,
- 12:13Speaker 2: but she brings her scale with her to the gym
- 12:15Speaker 2: because she is, what she says, addicted to the scale,
- 12:19Speaker 2: addicted to the numbers. She feels like whenever she steps
- 12:22Speaker 2: on the scale, she's holding herself accountable, so she's not overeating.
- 12:26Speaker 2: But at the same time, every time she's been stepping
- 12:28Speaker 2: on the scale for the last month or so, the
- 12:30Speaker 2: numbers haven't been not moving at all. So she breaks
- 12:33Speaker 2: her scale, and her personal trainer is like, yeah, cool,
- 12:37Speaker 2: let's go to the parking lot and I have this
- 12:38Speaker 2: sledgehammer and let's beat the shit out of and destroy
- 12:41Speaker 2: your scale because you're too addicted to it and you
- 12:43Speaker 2: need to stop relying on this tool because you're losing weight.
- 12:48Speaker 2: You are right doing the hard work, so stop caring
- 12:52Speaker 2: about the scale.
- 12:54Speaker 1: And I can see his point. And if she is
- 12:58Speaker 1: super fixated on the numbers to the detriment of the process,
- 13:02Speaker 1: well then yes, a scale is not useful. But the
- 13:05Speaker 1: way that Janelle was talking about the scale, it was
- 13:09Speaker 1: around awareness and like needing to just be aware of
- 13:13Speaker 1: where she was in terms of her weight, because if
- 13:16Speaker 1: she didn't weigh herself, then her weight may get away
- 13:19Speaker 1: from her. Because if you recall, and I don't know
- 13:21Speaker 1: if you do, but I do, that first season or
- 13:24Speaker 1: second season when they were trying to all get in
- 13:26Speaker 1: shape while Robin was pregnant and didn't have to work out,
- 13:29Speaker 1: but she could sit back there and judge everybody. We
- 13:32Speaker 1: got Janelle getting on the scale and being I think
- 13:35Speaker 1: two hundred and seventy six or seventy three pounds or
- 13:37Speaker 1: whatever it was. But like she did look shocked, yeah,
- 13:40Speaker 1: that the number was that high, And it does seem
- 13:43Speaker 1: that maybe because she wasn't weighing herself, maybe her weight
- 13:47Speaker 1: got away from her. So now at this point, she's
- 13:50Speaker 1: using the scale so she can at least have some
- 13:53Speaker 1: control over what's happening with her own body. And like,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I can appreciate that. I think think that I personally
- 14:02Speaker 1: wasn't convinced that she was addicted or had a problem
- 14:05Speaker 1: to it. I just felt like she was using it,
- 14:08Speaker 1: Like you said, as a tool or a resource to
- 14:10Speaker 1: track where she was going. But the hard truth about
- 14:12Speaker 1: dieting is that you often hit plateaus and sometimes you
- 14:17Speaker 1: work really really hard. But like muscle weighs more than fat,
- 14:20Speaker 1: so you're losing fat. And Janelle does look smaller.
- 14:23Speaker 2: She does.
- 14:23Speaker 1: She actually looks really good, and so she's clearly making progress.
- 14:27Speaker 1: But because it's not showing up in the number on
- 14:29Speaker 1: the scale, she's like getting down about it.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Well, and that's like the hard thing with a scales,
- 14:36Speaker 2: Like it's kind of a double edged sword. Like, yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 2: it can be a helpful tool and weight loss, and
- 14:41Speaker 2: like if you have a healthy mindset with it, and
- 14:43Speaker 2: if you have a healthy mindset with food in general,
- 14:46Speaker 2: it can be really great. But it can also be
- 14:47Speaker 2: really toxic and it can promote eating disorders. It can
- 14:50Speaker 2: be a really shitty thing and really demoralizing when you're
- 14:53Speaker 2: trying to lose weight and exercise and all the shit,
- 14:56Speaker 2: and you're like, oh my god, I'm doing all of
- 14:58Speaker 2: the hard work, I'm counting my calories myself, and my
- 15:01Speaker 2: scale is not moving an inch. But she also brings
- 15:06Speaker 2: her fat pants, and she brings she brings a pair
- 15:09Speaker 2: of pants like when she first started, and she tries
- 15:12Speaker 2: them on at the gym after she completely destroyed her
- 15:14Speaker 2: scale and realized how cathartic that was. Now it actually
- 15:17Speaker 2: felt really good to break stuff. And she wears her
- 15:20Speaker 2: pants and she realizes, like, holy shit, I've lost a
- 15:23Speaker 2: lot of weight, Like she can put two fists in
- 15:25Speaker 2: her pants and still have room, Like she lost a
- 15:28Speaker 2: lot off her waistline, which is great, and so like
- 15:30Speaker 2: that's a really good reference to keep during your weight
- 15:34Speaker 2: loss journey. Like as long as you're not fitting back
- 15:36Speaker 2: into those pants, like you're doing good, you don't need
- 15:38Speaker 2: to worry about the scale. And that's like the point
- 15:41Speaker 2: of her personal trainer saying that to her, like don't
- 15:44Speaker 2: worry about it, like you're doing great, sweaty sure, and
- 15:47Speaker 2: she is.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean I guarantee you. She left from
- 15:50Speaker 1: the gym and she went to the walmartrow she bought
- 15:53Speaker 1: another scale. Yeah, probably because she uses the scale for
- 15:56Speaker 1: her progress. Sure, And I can appreciate that personally.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. And then we have the whole family
- 16:02Speaker 2: going to check out the homes and the cold sack
- 16:05Speaker 2: and right build up. Yep, they have walls up now
- 16:10Speaker 2: and they've got floors and Mary's got her wet bar.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Oh my god, and she's so happy. She's so excited
- 16:16Speaker 1: about this basic af wet bar so ugly. I'm like,
- 16:22Speaker 1: it's so ug okay, but if it makes you happy,
- 16:24Speaker 1: that's fantastic. But like, I just yeah, I'm just like
- 16:27Speaker 1: looking at the taste level. But she's very happy with that.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But when they get to Janelle's house, apparently the builder
- 16:33Speaker 1: has tiled through the living room and down the hallway
- 16:37Speaker 1: where it was supposed to be carpet, and Janelle is
- 16:40Speaker 1: not quite sure whether she likes it or not. Although
- 16:43Speaker 1: it is a more expensive option to have tile, and
- 16:45Speaker 1: if it was a mistake, I would imagine that the
- 16:48Speaker 1: builder would not make Janelle pay for it. Yeah, So
- 16:50Speaker 1: Janelle's trying to determine whether she wants it or whether
- 16:53Speaker 1: she doesn't. And this is when we have Mona, who
- 16:56Speaker 1: is the realtor who's been helping them broke her this steal.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Mona is there with them looking at the homes, and
- 17:03Speaker 1: so she picks up her phone to call the builder
- 17:06Speaker 1: to find out whether this was a mistake or not.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And I thought it was really interesting because Cody on
- 17:11Speaker 1: the couch is like, yeah, Mona does not let us
- 17:14Speaker 1: talk to the builder anymore, wonder because if you recall
- 17:18Speaker 1: last week, Mona's like, how many times have you guys
- 17:20Speaker 1: been going there? And Mary's like, I don't know, like
- 17:23Speaker 1: forty times already because they've got a scrap book and
- 17:26Speaker 1: I've got to be there over and of every single
- 17:28Speaker 1: take pictures from a scrap book, and also probably look
- 17:32Speaker 1: at all the details and talk to all the workers
- 17:34Speaker 1: and the builders. So Mary's been delaying the process. Robin
- 17:38Speaker 1: has been delaying the process also, Cody, And so Mona
- 17:41Speaker 1: is now saying only I can talk to the builder. Well,
- 17:45Speaker 1: she talks to the builder and it does turn out
- 17:47Speaker 1: that the tile in the hallway was a mistake.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 1: And this is where we have this scene where Mary
- 17:54Speaker 1: very imperiously turns to Mona and says, well, yeah, it
- 17:59Speaker 1: is a mistake.
- 18:00Speaker 2: My god, chill out, Capricorn.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm like calmed down. First of all, it's not your house. Uh,
- 18:06Speaker 1: it's Janelle's house.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Second, like, where are you getting this attitude from?
- 18:12Speaker 2: Is this so snooty?
- 18:13Speaker 1: A snapshot of maybe how she spoke to Janelle and
- 18:17Speaker 1: Christine when they become became wives and probably entered the family.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I was like ew super critical, like shut up, very
- 18:24Speaker 2: scarier yep. And then we find out later in the
- 18:27Speaker 2: season that she's the one that's delayed and can't get
- 18:30Speaker 2: into her house before Christmas, even though her kid's the
- 18:33Speaker 2: only one that wants to be Like Leon literally told her,
- 18:37Speaker 2: I don't want anything for Christmas except to be in
- 18:39Speaker 2: the house. And then Mary probably was so critical in
- 18:42Speaker 2: her house. If she's like this speaking like this about
- 18:45Speaker 2: Janelle's house, who she doesn't even have to live with,
- 18:49Speaker 2: imagine how bad she is in her own house. Actually,
- 18:53Speaker 2: I wanted the blinds to look like this, and actually
- 18:57Speaker 2: there was supposed to be crom molding every here, and.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Actually you know she's been doing that. Yes, And so
- 19:03Speaker 1: she's going to be the wife who doesn't get to
- 19:05Speaker 1: be in her house on Christmas. And I'm just like
- 19:08Speaker 1: cry hard or berrious. I love to see it.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I can't wait to see her sob about it because
- 19:12Speaker 2: it's all her own fault.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:14Speaker 2: And then after the homes, then we get into the
- 19:19Speaker 2: college discussions with mkelty and Aspen and Leon.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yes, apparently Aspen is just fine to go to UNLV
- 19:30Speaker 1: where Logan is currently attending. University. McKelty is still in
- 19:34Speaker 1: high school. She's sixteen years old, but she's been I
- 19:38Speaker 1: guess accepted to the College of Southern Nevada on some
- 19:42Speaker 1: sort of high school college program where she can go
- 19:45Speaker 1: to high school but get college credits and maybe even
- 19:47Speaker 1: her associate's degrees, but then she can jet off to
- 19:50Speaker 1: New York, honey, so she can go to the Fashion
- 19:53Speaker 1: Institute of Something something Design and Manufacturing at forty thousand
- 19:58Speaker 1: dollars a year, Christine cannot afford, but she wants to
- 20:02Speaker 1: be a fashion designer, which is great. And then we
- 20:05Speaker 1: have Leon, who wants to go to Westminster College in
- 20:09Speaker 1: Utah because it is close to Leon's friends and family,
- 20:14Speaker 1: and of course Leon wants to continue in the polygamist lifestyle.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Leon wants to live plural marriage. And Leon wants
- 20:23Speaker 2: to be a pediatrician, which is just really funny because
- 20:27Speaker 2: I wonder if Leon watches these older seasons and it
- 20:30Speaker 2: just cringes at themselves, because I would, because that's so embarrassing.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Like when I was Leon's age, I was like, I'm
- 20:36Speaker 2: gonna be a neuroscientist. I mean, I get my PhD.
- 20:39Speaker 2: And then I got my associate's deree and everyone back
- 20:43Speaker 2: like this shit, I don't want to be in school
- 20:45Speaker 2: for seventeen thousand years and have to work on brains
- 20:49Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 20:49Speaker 1: No thanks, and take out like all those student loans
- 20:52Speaker 1: probably oh my god, which actually becomes kind of an
- 20:55Speaker 1: issue that we get into within this episode. But Mary
- 21:00Speaker 1: and Cody travel with Leon up to Lehigh and take
- 21:06Speaker 1: Leon to Westminster. We have the scene where they all
- 21:09Speaker 1: meet with the director of admissions, and the first thing
- 21:12Speaker 1: Cody says out of his dumb mouth is you do
- 21:15Speaker 1: understand there were polygamous, right, We're very persecuted. We're fundamentalist Mormons.
- 21:20Speaker 1: You've heard of it, haven't you?
- 21:22Speaker 2: Yeah? Is that okay?
- 21:23Speaker 1: The Ladi's like, uh yeah, I live in the heart
- 21:26Speaker 1: of Utah. Yeah, I'm absolutely familiar with fundamentalist Mormons. Thinks
- 21:30Speaker 1: it's no problem. We're diverse.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Yeah, diversity either as straight. It's great. Cody's like, okay, go,
- 21:36Speaker 2: I want to make sure. Yeah, but it's just.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Like another opportunity, just like he took the opportunity last
- 21:41Speaker 1: week with the dude who was repelling down a rock,
- 21:44Speaker 1: just to tell them that they were polygamous. Like every
- 21:47Speaker 1: single opportunity he has to talk about it, he takes it.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And he always frames himself as persecuted in some kind
- 21:54Speaker 1: of a marner, and it's just so exhausting because it's
- 21:58Speaker 1: clear that he needs this to be his identity so
- 22:02Speaker 1: that he can continue to have a show on TLC
- 22:04Speaker 1: to keep people interested. And I'm bored.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I am so bored. I'm so bored. And then after
- 22:11Speaker 2: the college dour Leon, Mary and Cody go and visit
- 22:14Speaker 2: the old Lehigh House because apparently they still fucking own it.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Like, I don't know why, wild right, yeah, I don't.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't realize this. I thought they got
- 22:23Speaker 2: rid of it. They've been in Vegas for over two
- 22:25Speaker 2: years at this point, Like why are you keeping this place?
- 22:27Speaker 1: Let me remind you. Janelle tells us like after the
- 22:30Speaker 1: first year after they relocated to Las Vegas, like she
- 22:34Speaker 1: was worried about feeding her own kids, she was worried
- 22:38Speaker 1: about how they were going to pay the bills. And
- 22:40Speaker 1: of course it's Janelle who does all the numbers and
- 22:43Speaker 1: all of the record keeping, and so this shit was
- 22:45Speaker 1: keeping her up at night. And you're telling me they
- 22:48Speaker 1: had the Lehigh House the entire time, this entire time. Now,
- 22:53Speaker 1: I do remember that I think family members were living
- 22:56Speaker 1: in the Lehigh House at some point after they left,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and so maybe they were renting it out and making
- 23:00Speaker 1: some income in that way. But after returning to the
- 23:04Speaker 1: Lehigh House with Leon and walking through the home, they
- 23:08Speaker 1: all agree that they don't feel a connection to it
- 23:10Speaker 1: anymore and maybe it's time to sell it.
- 23:13Speaker 2: This whole thing felt very performative to me because Cody
- 23:17Speaker 2: and Mary are like, yeah, that was like a big
- 23:18Speaker 2: reason why we kept the Lehigh House was so that
- 23:21Speaker 2: way Leon could live here going to college, because I
- 23:23Speaker 2: guess Leon had expressed previously that they wanted to live
- 23:26Speaker 2: in the Lehigh House during college. But then once they're
- 23:29Speaker 2: there and they smell the musty smells and realize that
- 23:32Speaker 2: it doesn't smell like their family anymore. When does the
- 23:35Speaker 2: family smell like?
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm concerned bo sex smells, polygamous sex fumes.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Oh that's so nasty.
- 23:46Speaker 1: And Christine's cooking in the basement, the fish fry and
- 23:49Speaker 1: the sex. I cannot smell the fish fry and the
- 23:53Speaker 1: sex fumes. I don't want to be here anymore.
- 23:55Speaker 2: It doesn't feel like dors I have a typical college
- 23:59Speaker 2: experien And Cody's like, yeah, but okay, then we're going
- 24:02Speaker 2: to sell the house, and it just feels like they're
- 24:05Speaker 2: doing this because they actually do need to sell the
- 24:07Speaker 2: house so that way they qualify for the loans in
- 24:09Speaker 2: the cul de Sac Holmes.
- 24:10Speaker 1: That's my opinion, right, and that makes sense. Yeah, I'm
- 24:16Speaker 1: just thinking about the money though, because apparently Westminster is
- 24:19Speaker 1: a very expensive college. Yeah, and now Leon wants to
- 24:23Speaker 1: live in the dorms and that's going to cost them
- 24:25Speaker 1: even more money. And there's a lot of talk in
- 24:28Speaker 1: this episode about scholarships and the kids need to get
- 24:33Speaker 1: scholarships because the parents cannot pay for this all on
- 24:37Speaker 1: their own. And then we kind of fast forward to
- 24:39Speaker 1: season nineteen, like just a couple few weeks ago. We've
- 24:42Speaker 1: got Mary talking to us telling us that it was
- 24:45Speaker 1: her that actually paid for Leon to go to Westminster.
- 24:49Speaker 1: And Leon then goes to Loyola for Leon's masters and
- 24:54Speaker 1: it was Mary that paid for that as well. So
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm not sure if Leon got scholarships. I imagine so,
- 25:01Speaker 1: because they come off as quite intelligent. I don't know. Yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 1: but like Mary was the one who ended up paying
- 25:07Speaker 1: for all of that. And let me tell you, having
- 25:08Speaker 1: lived in Chicago, yeah for fifteen years and knowing about
- 25:12Speaker 1: a lot of these universities because I had step kias
- 25:16Speaker 1: Loyola's expensive, it's prestigious, it's very nice, and so that
- 25:20Speaker 1: was a pretty penny to be sure.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's what makes me wonder. I'm like, did
- 25:24Speaker 2: Mary keep all of the student loans in her name?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Does Leon got any student loans in their name? Do
- 25:30Speaker 2: they even have any debt? Were they so spoiled that
- 25:33Speaker 2: their mom just got to pay for all of that
- 25:36Speaker 2: shit and they didn't have to deal with any of
- 25:37Speaker 2: the repercussions Because I don't know. Leon kind of strikes
- 25:40Speaker 2: me as spoiled and all.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Of these episode very much so. And let me remind
- 25:44Speaker 1: you that Mary has taken out three loans for the
- 25:48Speaker 1: Haunted B and B, the most recent loans sometime in
- 25:51Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. So maybe if she's rolling in like
- 25:54Speaker 1: student loans or like paying for university, like maybe some
- 25:58Speaker 1: of that makes sense. It's just the incredible burden that
- 26:02Speaker 1: Mary ended up having to bear. And they kind of
- 26:04Speaker 1: talk in this episode about how the family pools the
- 26:08Speaker 1: money to send the children to school, and like, it
- 26:12Speaker 1: doesn't matter what kid it is, they're all gonna have
- 26:14Speaker 1: the same opportunity, but I feel like it didn't end
- 26:18Speaker 1: up being that way. No, because for some reason, I
- 26:20Speaker 1: feel like Robin's current college age kids are getting a
- 26:24Speaker 1: full ride on Cody and Robbin's dime.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Oh totally yeah. And I'm sure that like Logan had
- 26:30Speaker 2: to pay his way through college. I mean, he's working
- 26:33Speaker 2: at UNLV in the admissions center and everything, so I'm
- 26:36Speaker 2: sure he's paying his own way. Maybe all the loans
- 26:39Speaker 2: are in his name, same thing with Aspen, same thing
- 26:41Speaker 2: with Michel te Leon. Maybe took the loans out in
- 26:45Speaker 2: their name, but maybe it's all Mary because Mary spoils
- 26:48Speaker 2: the fuck out of Leon. But Robin's kids they never
- 26:50Speaker 2: had to know real struggle.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Now probably not probably.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Not, No, no way. And then after the whole college tours,
- 26:57Speaker 2: and we have Aspen going to UNLV and Logan gives
- 27:01Speaker 2: the tour around the college, and this is where Aspen
- 27:04Speaker 2: makes some comment of like, you know, I feel like
- 27:07Speaker 2: Logan took the whole leaving the nest thing way to
- 27:11Speaker 2: the extreme and now he just like never comes around anymore,
- 27:15Speaker 2: and like he just forgot about all of his responsibilities
- 27:18Speaker 2: at home. He just took it to the extreme.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Well, the first time we recorded this, you said that
- 27:23Speaker 1: you were actually like pretty disappointed and Aspen for saying that,
- 27:27Speaker 1: and you felt it was a shitty comment. And I said,
- 27:30Speaker 1: and I will say again that when you think about
- 27:34Speaker 1: the fact that Aspen at this point, like right before
- 27:36Speaker 1: she goes off to university, she's completely a part of
- 27:39Speaker 1: the borg. Yeah, she's completely a part of the Brown matrix,
- 27:42Speaker 1: and she only sees through the filter and the perception
- 27:45Speaker 1: of their polygamist, weird ass family. You know, years later,
- 27:49Speaker 1: when she's married to Mitch and she's living in Salt
- 27:51Speaker 1: Lake City and her brain is fully formed, she can
- 27:53Speaker 1: get back and absolutely recognize the fact that Logan was
- 27:58Speaker 1: parentified and she was parentified, and she's probably old enough
- 28:03Speaker 1: and intelligent enough to know now that that is a
- 28:05Speaker 1: form of abuse. Yeah, And so she does not blame
- 28:08Speaker 1: Logan and actually loved hearing Logan talk about this because Logan,
- 28:13Speaker 1: according to him, he says, he actually gets back to
- 28:15Speaker 1: the family like once or twice a month, every two
- 28:19Speaker 1: weeks or whatever, and that's enough, Like he wants to
- 28:23Speaker 1: be able to be separate enough so that he can grow.
- 28:26Speaker 1: He's not worrying about whether he wants to be a
- 28:29Speaker 1: fucking polygamist. He's not worried about whether he even wants
- 28:32Speaker 1: to be a Mormon. He's just trying to be here now,
- 28:35Speaker 1: experience this new experience for himself without like the pressure
- 28:40Speaker 1: of having to be responsible for thirteen other children. Like
- 28:44Speaker 1: Logan gets it. I know Logan knows, and he Logan
- 28:47Speaker 1: has been preparing for quite some time to detach from
- 28:50Speaker 1: these people.
- 28:51Speaker 2: And it's really awesome, Like he's saying all of this
- 28:53Speaker 2: at eighteen, Like when I finally left my house at twenty,
- 28:57Speaker 2: I felt so much guilt because I was parentified my
- 29:00Speaker 2: entire fucking childhood and teens. So when I left and
- 29:03Speaker 2: I'm like being my own adult, I'm like, man, should
- 29:06Speaker 2: I go back? Should I go back? And like help
- 29:08Speaker 2: my sister who's an adult now, like she could leave too.
- 29:12Speaker 2: I felt really bad. So Logan just being like I
- 29:15Speaker 2: come around enough. You guys see me every few weeks,
- 29:18Speaker 2: like I'm just spread my wings. I've got my walls up,
- 29:21Speaker 2: like I'm learning to fly, bitch, lay me up out.
- 29:24Speaker 1: We love that for him, but like then we get
- 29:26Speaker 1: to Cody, and Cody actually speaks to camera and says
- 29:29Speaker 1: something like I really miss Logan. We used to have
- 29:33Speaker 1: a lot of deep conversations. We used to spend a
- 29:35Speaker 1: lot of time talking and now we just don't do
- 29:38Speaker 1: that anymore. And Cody actually says that Logan has walls up,
- 29:42Speaker 1: and Christine, who's sitting next to him on the couch,
- 29:44Speaker 1: agrees and says, yeah, like he's got walls up now,
- 29:46Speaker 1: Like that's a boundary.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yep.
- 29:48Speaker 1: This boy is creating and enforcing boundaries, and this is
- 29:52Speaker 1: what we love to see.
- 29:54Speaker 2: And this is all just also just like a natural
- 29:57Speaker 2: part of growing up, like when you leave the nest,
- 29:59Speaker 2: like you're trying to figure your shit out, and so, yeah,
- 30:01Speaker 2: you have some boundaries with your parents because you're trying
- 30:03Speaker 2: to separate. That's like a natural progression of life. And
- 30:06Speaker 2: so I'm like I don't care, Cody, like crime your river,
- 30:09Speaker 2: because at this point in time in twenty twenty five, I'm.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Like, you don't even talk to a Logan, don't even.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Talk to any of these kids, and you wonder why
- 30:16Speaker 2: they all hate you.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't give a shit, like, so fuck off.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Yep, literally agreed, And then we get to the best
- 30:22Speaker 2: part of the episode where the family goes to another expo. Yeah,
- 30:28Speaker 2: in Las Vegas. It's a Christmas Bazaar, and they're bringing
- 30:32Speaker 2: all of their shitty ass, expensive, ass ugly ass jewelry
- 30:37Speaker 2: to this expo and they're hoping it's going to be
- 30:39Speaker 2: more successful than the one in Saint George.
- 30:41Speaker 1: So let me just set this up for everybody, Okay,
- 30:43Speaker 1: because I did talk about it a little bit, But again,
- 30:47Speaker 1: the Saint George Expo was around a bunch of judgmental
- 30:51Speaker 1: Mormons who hated polygamus And so this is why they
- 30:54Speaker 1: think the Browns think they didn't sell any jewelry in
- 30:56Speaker 1: Saint George. It's because nobody liked them. They all thought
- 31:00Speaker 1: they were awful, culty, terrible people. And so we're gonna
- 31:04Speaker 1: go to Vegas now for the Christmas Expo, and Las
- 31:08Speaker 1: Vegas is tolerant. Nobody gives a shit if we're polygamous.
- 31:11Speaker 1: So they are expecting to sell a lot more than nineteen,
- 31:15Speaker 1: which is what they sold in Saint George. Well guess
- 31:18Speaker 1: how much they sold in Las Vegas.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Eighteen?
- 31:21Speaker 1: It was eighteen. Well it ended up being nineteen because
- 31:23Speaker 1: she miscounted, but it was like the exact, which again
- 31:27Speaker 1: you'd think would cause you to stop hammer time and like,
- 31:32Speaker 1: look at your product, look at your pricing and see,
- 31:34Speaker 1: well where the problem is because it's not actually geography,
- 31:38Speaker 1: it's you, bitch. Yeah, it's the shit that you're designing, bitch,
- 31:40Speaker 1: that's the problem. But I'm fast forwarding. Let's stay in
- 31:44Speaker 1: the expo for a moment. Yeah, if they get to
- 31:45Speaker 1: the expo, they lay everything out and Robin is willy nervous. Yeah,
- 31:49Speaker 1: she's just waiting for that first sale because once that
- 31:52Speaker 1: first sale comes, I'll feels so much better and then
- 31:54Speaker 1: we'll start selling and selling and selling and selling well.
- 31:56Speaker 2: And she does say this was their fastest cell ever
- 32:00Speaker 2: at an expo because they sold something within thirty minutes
- 32:03Speaker 2: or something like that. And she's like, that is a meath.
- 32:06Speaker 2: That means we're successful. But listen when they were at
- 32:10Speaker 2: this expo and the camera crew is zooming in on
- 32:13Speaker 2: all of their ugly, shitty jewelry designs. They zoomed in
- 32:17Speaker 2: on some of those price tags, and I was pausing
- 32:19Speaker 2: every second I could so I could figure out how
- 32:21Speaker 2: much they were selling some shit. They had one piece
- 32:24Speaker 2: that was called like Friends Forever or something, and it
- 32:26Speaker 2: was like a necklace two hundred and twenty two dollars
- 32:31Speaker 2: two hundred and twenty two dollars for a necklace.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I am so glad you did that, because I was
- 32:36Speaker 1: wondering last week, like I didn't know what the price
- 32:38Speaker 1: range was, like what are the lower cost items? What
- 32:41Speaker 1: are the higher cost items? But you said, like you
- 32:44Speaker 1: paused it on the price sheet, and the lowest cost
- 32:48Speaker 1: item was.
- 32:49Speaker 2: What they had like a list of all their items
- 32:51Speaker 2: and all of their collections and how much it was.
- 32:54Speaker 2: And I paused it and it was kind of blurry,
- 32:56Speaker 2: but I could make out some of it, and like
- 32:57Speaker 2: the lowest priced one that I could see there was
- 33:00Speaker 2: like seventy dollars. Seventy dollars for like probably one of
- 33:05Speaker 2: their like little bands of rings or something, which.
- 33:08Speaker 1: They probably paid a manufacturer to make for maybe five
- 33:12Speaker 1: dollars or ten dollars or at the most twenty dollars.
- 33:15Speaker 1: But like the markup that they're putting on this awful
- 33:18Speaker 1: jewelry is wild. It's fantastic, and just can I give
- 33:21Speaker 1: you some perspective please and sidebar, So I used to
- 33:26Speaker 1: have like retreats and things that I would do, and
- 33:29Speaker 1: I would have a bunch of merch that I would
- 33:30Speaker 1: take and that I would sell. And when I tell you,
- 33:34Speaker 1: like what I sold I sold necklaces. I sold crystal necklaces.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Well that they were crystals.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Oh, they were crystals. I sourced them very specifically. There
- 33:43Speaker 1: was a whole lot that went into it. They were
- 33:45Speaker 1: so beautiful. I've given you a couple of these second
- 33:48Speaker 1: gorgeous and I would set them out on a table
- 33:51Speaker 1: in the conference room and I wasn't even finished announcing
- 33:56Speaker 1: them and people were getting up out of the seats
- 33:58Speaker 1: and going there and picking their crystal. I was still
- 34:00Speaker 1: talking about them, and they were almost all gone because
- 34:03Speaker 1: they were beautiful, because they were priced right, and because
- 34:05Speaker 1: they were special, and plus I knew my audience. I
- 34:07Speaker 1: knew who was in the audience and what they wanted.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Yeah, So this is kind.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Of what I'm talking about, is just like the disconnect
- 34:13Speaker 1: that exists. They're trying to create products for an audience
- 34:16Speaker 1: that they don't understand. The products themselves are but ugly
- 34:20Speaker 1: and then they're super overpriced, like so crazy.
- 34:23Speaker 2: And there's no gemstones in any of the designs at all,
- 34:26Speaker 2: Like they're just really shitty, cheap silver and like crazy
- 34:30Speaker 2: designs like sw that looks like something you would buy
- 34:33Speaker 2: at fucking clears for your eight year old dog.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Like the font of the s W neil is like
- 34:38Speaker 1: a Disneyland like a literally a Mickey Mouse font. Yeah,
- 34:43Speaker 1: super fat, ugly font. I'm like, first of all, why
- 34:46Speaker 1: am I buying a necklace that says s W Unless
- 34:49Speaker 1: my name is Sarah Wallace. I'm not going to buy
- 34:52Speaker 1: something that says sister wives when I am not a
- 34:54Speaker 1: sister wife. And most of your audience were not polygamous.
- 34:58Speaker 1: We're watching you because you were in, because you have
- 35:00Speaker 1: an alternative lifestyle, So I don't want to wear something
- 35:04Speaker 1: that makes people think I'm part of that lifestyle. It's
- 35:07Speaker 1: what I'm really doing is just watching a show. So
- 35:09Speaker 1: create something for me, which would be a T shirt,
- 35:12Speaker 1: like Christine said, or a fucking mug, a keychain, a
- 35:16Speaker 1: sticker or something like that.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Like it doesn't make any sense. And like they even
- 35:20Speaker 2: had Klata stuff, which is a symbol of their union yea,
- 35:26Speaker 2: their love And I'm not saying that nobody has clautas, Like, yeah,
- 35:30Speaker 2: clautas are pretty, they're common and they're common, but like
- 35:33Speaker 2: they were marketing it specifically as like their clata like
- 35:37Speaker 2: love union and everything, and that was like one hundred
- 35:40Speaker 2: and eighty dollars.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that's too expensive, like with the Clata the see
- 35:45Speaker 1: that's an idea that would apply to a lot of people. Yeah,
- 35:49Speaker 1: but unfortunately the market is probably saturated with Clata rings
- 35:53Speaker 1: because we've all heard of this before, right, We've probably
- 35:56Speaker 1: if we wanted one, we would have already had it done.
- 35:58Speaker 1: So this isn't anything special or anything new. And plus
- 36:01Speaker 1: you are charging me way too much money for it.
- 36:03Speaker 1: So again, this just hearkens back to the reality that
- 36:07Speaker 1: they don't have a mind for business, not at at all.
- 36:11Speaker 1: And after the failure of this expo, they returned to
- 36:15Speaker 1: Mary's house in the Mormon Conference Taylor table sorry to
- 36:20Speaker 1: download once again about how well they did, and Robin
- 36:24Speaker 1: seems so proud of herself. Yeah, that they made a
- 36:27Speaker 1: profit of seven hundred dollars for five people working all
- 36:33Speaker 1: day at an expo. That's not even minimum wage. No,
- 36:37Speaker 1: And I don't believe her. Also, Beatrice me neither that
- 36:40Speaker 1: was profit.
- 36:40Speaker 2: No, because she's like saying that they made seven hundred
- 36:43Speaker 2: bucks in profit, and Cody's like, is that minus everything else?
- 36:47Speaker 2: And She's like, yeah, I minus that's and I minus that.
- 36:50Speaker 2: But then she forgot how many sales that they did, right,
- 36:53Speaker 2: she thought it was eighteen. It was actually nineteen. And
- 36:56Speaker 2: she's subtracting like the cost of their manufacturing I guess,
- 37:00Speaker 2: which is like two dollars, and like the cost of
- 37:04Speaker 2: gas to drive up to the expo. Like I don't know,
- 37:07Speaker 2: but Janelle is being realistic here and she's listening to
- 37:10Speaker 2: this and she's like, you know what, this really isn't
- 37:13Speaker 2: worth my time and energy. Like I really have to disengage.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I know, I said last episode, just last episode, she
- 37:20Speaker 2: just had an epiphany in the last episode that she
- 37:23Speaker 2: was going to be.
- 37:23Speaker 1: A part of this.
- 37:24Speaker 2: But actually just kidding, because after I drove home from
- 37:28Speaker 2: this expoe on Friday night, I realized that this is
- 37:30Speaker 2: a colossal, fucking failure. It's not gonna make enough money
- 37:32Speaker 2: for me to put food on my table. I have
- 37:35Speaker 2: to focus on something realistic, like my real estate business.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Right. And I want to draw your attention to the
- 37:43Speaker 1: energy that Janelle brought into that meeting, because she sat
- 37:46Speaker 1: down looking defensive. She sat down looking like she was
- 37:50Speaker 1: ready for some kind of a fight. And this further
- 37:53Speaker 1: validates for me that the reason Janelle even went to
- 37:57Speaker 1: Robin's home in the last episode to tell her I've
- 37:59Speaker 1: had an epiphany and I want to help you more.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Was because Cody put a battery in her back. She
- 38:05Speaker 1: did that because she had a conversation with Cody and
- 38:07Speaker 1: Cody said, I really need you to step up, and
- 38:08Speaker 1: I really need you to help Robin and get this done.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Then they go to the expo in Vegas and so
- 38:14Speaker 1: the polygamy thing, the specter of polygamy should not affect it,
- 38:17Speaker 1: and Janelle sees it makes absolutely no difference. So she
- 38:20Speaker 1: goes to this meeting after that expo, and she's ready
- 38:24Speaker 1: to fight with Cody, and she's ready to tell Robin,
- 38:26Speaker 1: and she's expecting that fight because she knows Cody is
- 38:30Speaker 1: the one who told her to participate. And Cody even
- 38:33Speaker 1: says at the table while like you're giving up already, yea,
- 38:36Speaker 1: And Janelle's like, no, I'm still gonna do my plus
- 38:39Speaker 1: size Holy Mormon underwear line and I still have plans
- 38:43Speaker 1: to do all of that shit. But like I got killa, yeah,
- 38:46Speaker 1: I got killing. I can't feed my cats, and so
- 38:50Speaker 1: what the fuck do you expect me to do? You
- 38:52Speaker 1: ain't working for this family.
- 38:54Speaker 2: She's coming in full, she's coming in hot.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, she's coming in.
- 38:57Speaker 2: She's ready to fucking fight, and I mean, I'm right
- 39:00Speaker 2: there with her. Yeah, why would I waste time going
- 39:02Speaker 2: to expo after expo for it to be a fucking
- 39:04Speaker 2: failure because our prices are too high and we're selling
- 39:07Speaker 2: weird Disney fucking ball sack jewelry right crazy. Yes, But
- 39:12Speaker 2: when Janelle says I'm gonna disengage, then Christine pipes up
- 39:15Speaker 2: and says, but I'm ready to engage more good news.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I'm on board and I'm right here with you, Robin,
- 39:22Speaker 1: and I'm gonna be giving you more time and more
- 39:25Speaker 1: energy because I'm absolutely unwilling to work as hard as
- 39:28Speaker 1: Mona said I would have to work if I wanted
- 39:30Speaker 1: to be a real estate agent. I'm not interested in
- 39:32Speaker 1: working that hard. So I'll just throw you some of
- 39:34Speaker 1: this energy. And Robin smiles and she's like, oh, that's great,
- 39:40Speaker 1: but you already know she's like, oh fuck great, I
- 39:43Speaker 1: gotta spend more time with Christine. That is not what
- 39:46Speaker 1: I wanted, yep. And then on the couch, You've got
- 39:50Speaker 1: everybody on the couch, and Christine's like, I just realized
- 39:54Speaker 1: I really need to support Robin's dream. This is her dream,
- 39:58Speaker 1: and I want to support her. I want to be
- 39:59Speaker 1: a good sc wife, which shows me that Christine has
- 40:03Speaker 1: also had a conversation with Cody, and probably the reason
- 40:07Speaker 1: she's piping up at this meeting is because Cody has
- 40:10Speaker 1: told her, like, what the fuck are you doing? Yeah,
- 40:13Speaker 1: support Robin. She's trying really hard. She's taking her sketchbook
- 40:17Speaker 1: to Starbucks and she's sitting there praying first, and then
- 40:20Speaker 1: she's designing these necklaces. So you get your happy ass
- 40:23Speaker 1: over Robin's house and you help her, and so now
- 40:26Speaker 1: here comes Christine.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and I could see that. I also thought Christine's
- 40:31Speaker 2: comment was a little bit passive aggressive to Robin, because
- 40:34Speaker 2: up until this point, Robin has been very clear to say,
- 40:37Speaker 2: it's not just my dream, it's the family business. I
- 40:40Speaker 2: want to do this with my Solsto wives because I
- 40:43Speaker 2: think it could be successful for the entire family. It's
- 40:45Speaker 2: not just about me, right. But now Christine's like, no, Robin,
- 40:49Speaker 2: I'm here to support your dream. I'm here to support
- 40:53Speaker 2: you because you know it's all about you.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Oh oh wow, that's like three layers down. Yeah, of
- 41:01Speaker 1: like subtext, But I mean I wouldn't put it past her.
- 41:03Speaker 2: That's what I would do for.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Calling Robin out for that, and really this is a
- 41:07Speaker 1: vanity project, yeah for Robin. And well, Cody still doesn't
- 41:13Speaker 1: seem very interested in this. He still seems very motivated
- 41:16Speaker 1: by the bottom line and the profit and the money.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Like you can tell he's going out of his way
- 41:20Speaker 1: to do what he can to speak for and support Robin.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Yep, that's all it's about.
- 41:27Speaker 1: And I did want to say that it seems to
- 41:30Speaker 1: me that it's around this time and this has got
- 41:33Speaker 1: to be like what twenty twelve, twenty eleven, twenty thirteen
- 41:36Speaker 1: or something like that. This is around the time that
- 41:38Speaker 1: it's really becoming obvious to me that Cody is favoring
- 41:44Speaker 1: Robin a lot, trying to speak up for Robin, trying
- 41:48Speaker 1: to maneuver the other wives to support Robin. So he's
- 41:51Speaker 1: starting to run this campaign and agenda that obviously over
- 41:55Speaker 1: time just gets worse and worse and more obvious. But
- 41:58Speaker 1: to me, it's it's starting right away now.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's been going on for a while.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I mean, I know he's favorite or he loves her,
- 42:04Speaker 1: and he's having great sex and all that. She's probably
- 42:06Speaker 1: break dancing in the bedroom, but like he's still in
- 42:09Speaker 1: my opinion, he still loved his other wives, he still
- 42:11Speaker 1: loved his other families, but we're starting to see him
- 42:14Speaker 1: pivot away from that and more coage rob him well.
- 42:17Speaker 2: And he keeps making comments about how it's so crazy
- 42:20Speaker 2: to work with all of these women, and like, oh god,
- 42:22Speaker 2: I'm losing my sanity having to work with all these women.
- 42:25Speaker 2: And it's like, but this is the lifestyle you chose, though,
- 42:28Speaker 2: you can't pretend to act like a martyr and a
- 42:31Speaker 2: victim for this lifestyle that you chose. And then also
- 42:34Speaker 2: bitch about, oh my god, my wives. I gotta work
- 42:37Speaker 2: with my wife, right, It's like.
- 42:39Speaker 1: So, then, don't be a polygamist. I mean, it's not
- 42:42Speaker 1: that hard.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Just have one wife and it'll be way easier for you.
- 42:45Speaker 1: It's still hard, yet easier, exactly. Yeah.
- 42:48Speaker 2: And then we get to the preview for next week,
- 42:50Speaker 2: which I'm excited about because we see Mary crying, and.
- 42:53Speaker 1: You love that, you love when that happened.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I love when anyone cries on this show, because they're
- 42:58Speaker 2: all so stupid. But Mary's crying because she is disappointing
- 43:02Speaker 2: Leon because she's not getting her paperwork turned in on
- 43:05Speaker 2: time and her house is probably delayed. We know this
- 43:08Speaker 2: already and she doesn't get into the house before Christmas,
- 43:11Speaker 2: and now she's got to break the news to Leon
- 43:12Speaker 2: because all Leon wanted for Christmas was to get in
- 43:16Speaker 2: their house.
- 43:17Speaker 1: And can I just say, like, as a parent, one
- 43:20Speaker 1: thing I was very mindful of with my child was
- 43:24Speaker 1: not to like set her expectations in a way that
- 43:27Speaker 1: I could not guarantee that I would satisfy and fulfill them,
- 43:30Speaker 1: Like I wouldn't promise her something or like get her
- 43:33Speaker 1: hopes up if I knew there was a good chance
- 43:36Speaker 1: it wasn't going to work out, Like I might have
- 43:38Speaker 1: talked about it and say, hey, like there's a chance
- 43:40Speaker 1: this could happen, but like, don't get your hopes up
- 43:42Speaker 1: because it cannot control it. That's what I would have done.
- 43:45Speaker 1: But it feels like to me like Mary has really
- 43:47Speaker 1: oversold getting into the call to sac having her own place,
- 43:51Speaker 1: being a family again, and so now that's all Leon wants.
- 43:55Speaker 1: And you can't blame Leon for that, but I blame
- 43:57Speaker 1: Mary for just being a bad parent around that, yep.
- 44:00Speaker 2: And then being so selfish because you are intentionally delaying
- 44:03Speaker 2: your house with you all of the additions that you're adding,
- 44:06Speaker 2: your stupid bucking weapon.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Not getting your paperwork till the last episode, Like, what
- 44:10Speaker 1: are you? What is more important Mary than getting your
- 44:13Speaker 1: fucking paperwork in, especially if you've promised your child that
- 44:17Speaker 1: you were going to be in by Christmas. Don't under
- 44:20Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 44:21Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense, Gotta. And then we have
- 44:24Speaker 2: Christine admitting that she wasn't a good sister wife and
- 44:27Speaker 2: it's probably like you said, she got a talking to
- 44:29Speaker 2: from Cody, and so now she is crying on the
- 44:33Speaker 2: couch and saying she wasn't being a good sister wife
- 44:35Speaker 2: to Robin. And then we have Robin saying that she
- 44:39Speaker 2: wants to have Dayon and Brianna to see the houses
- 44:42Speaker 2: when they get finalized before they go to Montana. But
- 44:45Speaker 2: she doesn't really say when they're why they're going to Montana,
- 44:48Speaker 2: but we know probably that it's to go visit their real.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Dad, right by your dad, David Jessup. But she wants
- 44:55Speaker 1: the kids to see it before they go. And I
- 44:58Speaker 1: don't know if it's gonna happen or not.
- 45:00Speaker 2: But I can't wait to see me too.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Well, this was fun, even on this second time around.
- 45:08Speaker 1: You wouldn't know because you're professionals. Is there anything else
- 45:12Speaker 1: that we should be saying to these raccoons before we
- 45:15Speaker 1: get a bought out of here at Beaddrice.
- 45:17Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, please go to your
- 45:20Speaker 2: favorite podcast platform and leave us a glowing five star review.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Really helps us score the pod so more raccoons can
- 45:25Speaker 2: join us in the dumpster. We really appreciate it. Thank you.
- 45:29Speaker 1: We will be back tomorrow to talk about your calls
- 45:33Speaker 1: in via speak pipe. You all have a lot of
- 45:35Speaker 1: opinions and you want to share them and we want
- 45:38Speaker 1: to hear them, so you come back for that. We'll
- 45:40Speaker 1: also be back next week, of course, to continue the
- 45:43Speaker 1: Sister Wives conversation. And until then, please do not forget
- 45:48Speaker 1: that we have nothing but love for you, and please,
- 45:53Speaker 1: oh my my guys,
