Transcript
- 0:00Good morning. This is a special edition of Half-Faith Let It Begin.
- 0:05Today is Tuesday, December 17th, 2024.
- 0:10As many of you already know, yesterday there was another school shooting.
- 0:15A 15-year-old female student, who has been identified, went into the Life Christian
- 0:21School in Madison, Wisconsin, and took the lives of three people.
- 0:24A teacher and a teenager student were killed Six other people were injured Two
- 0:31students were in critical condition And a teacher and three other students Had
- 0:36non-life-threatening injuries,
- 0:39It is horrifying as a parent.
- 0:43To hear this news What's worse is that when you turn on the TV Some news stations
- 0:50are electing not to Talk about it I'm not going to sit here and become political,
- 0:56but as a parent and as a person who does have the platform to have the freedom of speech,
- 1:04I say we lift up these families in prayer.
- 1:09There will be no formal introduction today and no professional outro to it today,
- 1:16because today is not a day to promote our podcast.
- 1:22You know what you're listening to, but we as Christians and as Catholics and
- 1:28as those that believe in our Heavenly Father know that mourning a child's loss,
- 1:36I can't even begin to think about that during the holiday season.
- 1:40Having two children of my own and knowing that my wife will put my daughter
- 1:45on a bus today to go to school every morning, I hope and pray that she is safe.
- 1:52I am so upset and so angry with the way that we as a nation have not done everything
- 2:02in our power to try to stop this from happening.
- 2:06This morning, I'm asking each and every one of you for prayers,
- 2:10for prayers of schools and colleges and universities all over the world.
- 2:17We must come together. We must pray together.
- 2:20We must lift up and ask our Heavenly Father to try to find the peace,
- 2:26to try to find a way for this to stop.
- 2:30Too many children, too many teachers, too many people are dying.
- 2:36And we need this to stop. Let us pray. Heavenly Father,
- 2:41at this time, we ask you, Lord, to be with friends and families as you open
- 2:47the gates of heaven and allow these children and teachers and those that have
- 2:51been killed in all these type of shootings,
- 2:54we ask you, Lord, to protect them as they are no longer in pain.
- 3:01Allow them to learn, to run, and to have smiles on their faces as they run around in heaven.
- 3:08But Lord, here on earth, there are many people grieving. There are many people upset and angry.
- 3:15We need your help, God. We seek your healing hands.
- 3:20We know, Lord, there's a lot going on in this world. We know there's a lot of
- 3:24people angry, upset, especially during this time of year.
- 3:28But no parent, no parent should have to have a funeral during the days of the holidays.
- 3:36It should not be done, especially at the hands of another child.
- 3:41I've been doing this show for seven years, and I feel as if every once in a
- 3:46while I have to do an episode about prayers for school shootings.
- 3:52I don't want to do that anymore. Unfortunately, it's out of my control.
- 3:57And most likely, we may have another episode like this again.
- 4:02Let's hope and pray that that never happens.
- 4:04And finally, we pray the words this morning that our Heavenly Father taught us.
- 4:11Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
- 4:15Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
- 4:21Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our debts As we forgive our
- 4:26debtors Lead us not into temptation Deliver us from evil For yours is the kingdom,
- 4:34Power and glory forever and ever Amen It is my prayer To all of you out there That are struggling,
- 4:42That are in need of conversations That are maybe suffering from depression,
- 4:47I am asking all of you to know that you're not alone, that we're praying for
- 4:53you, that we believe in you, that God believes in you, that God trusts you,
- 4:57and that God is never going to leave your side.
- 5:00May God be with you. May he shine his light upon each and every one of you and
- 5:05grant all of you peace on earth.
- 5:08And never forget, have faith, let it begin. We'll see you tomorrow.
