- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now you'll find out what it all means.
- 0:05Speaker 3: He smarts amone on sevent ten war.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, hey, we'll get to the shutdown ending and what
- 0:13Speaker 2: it all means. We'll get to we'll get to President Trump.
- 0:17Speaker 2: What a day yesterday is a football career was highlighted
- 0:22Speaker 2: on television. We'll get to Nancy Pelosi. We'll get to mom, Donnie.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We'll get to the BBC total corruption over there and
- 0:31Speaker 2: now having a clean house, it looks like the shutdown
- 0:35Speaker 2: will end this week. Democrats, they hate to say they caved,
- 0:39Speaker 2: but they caved and gave in, and Chuck Schumer now
- 0:44Speaker 2: in big, big trouble with Democrats. Chuck Schumer still thinks
- 0:49Speaker 2: this nineteen seventy eight, thinks he can fool people with
- 0:52Speaker 2: his nonsense. So he mean, you know, pounding the table
- 0:56Speaker 2: about I don't like this disagreement and I voting against it.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It didn't fool anybody because he controls the Senate, and
- 1:05Speaker 2: he allowed eight senators to jump ship and go vote
- 1:08Speaker 2: for it. He could have kept them in line if
- 1:10Speaker 2: he wanted to, but he didn't want to, so he
- 1:13Speaker 2: didn't want to be on record as voting for it.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But he made sure those eight voted for it, and
- 1:17Speaker 2: this will lead to the end of the shutdown. So Schumer,
- 1:20Speaker 2: totally behind the scenes cave thought he could fool the
- 1:24Speaker 2: voters with it, the Democrats, but they are furious at him.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's pretty much the end of Schumer's career. He was
- 1:31Speaker 2: on the way out anyway, and couldn't possibly get reelected
- 1:35Speaker 2: next year. In fact, the rumor everywhere that he'll announce
- 1:39Speaker 2: he's not running for reelection at some point. But Democrats
- 1:42Speaker 2: yelling and screaming about him. I think he thought he
- 1:47Speaker 2: could get away with it. He's just so far behind
- 1:50Speaker 2: the times. But he's in real trouble right now. So
- 1:54Speaker 2: it would it comes down to two things. One is
- 1:57Speaker 2: they kept talking about healthcare, the Obama Care they call
- 2:00Speaker 2: it the Affordable Care Act, and the subsidies that people
- 2:04Speaker 2: need to pay for it. That was the main issue.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But really for many of these senators, the main issue
- 2:12Speaker 2: was the flight cancelations. Fifteen hundred flights canceled today alone,
- 2:16Speaker 2: So it was snarling at airports, making travel almost impossible
- 2:21Speaker 2: for a lot of people, and just screwing up everybody
- 2:25Speaker 2: who need to get on a plane. And that's Schumer.
- 2:29Speaker 2: That's people in Congress. That's their donors and a lot
- 2:33Speaker 2: of voters that they count on. They'll make it sound
- 2:37Speaker 2: like this was about healthcare for people that poverty that
- 2:40Speaker 2: needed it, thrilling about the flights, and it was screwing
- 2:43Speaker 2: up the people that they talked to. You know the
- 2:47Speaker 2: other thing, you got totally corrupt media in this country.
- 2:50Speaker 2: They never ask any legitimate questions. You see all these Democrats,
- 2:53Speaker 2: all these atom shifts and all these Schumer types come
- 2:56Speaker 2: on the Sunday shows and talk about we must have
- 2:59Speaker 2: the subsidies to pay for people to have the Affordable
- 3:03Speaker 2: Care Act, the Obamacare. You've never heard any media person
- 3:06Speaker 2: ever say the Democrats if it's the Affordable Care Act,
- 3:11Speaker 2: if it's affordable, why would anybody need a subsidy to
- 3:14Speaker 2: pay for it. It's obviously not affordable if you need
- 3:16Speaker 2: a big government subsidy to be able to afford it.
- 3:19Speaker 2: So nobody ever brings that up. The part of the
- 3:22Speaker 2: deal is the Trump administration gave in on a couple
- 3:25Speaker 2: of things. They will agree to rehire everybody. There'll be
- 3:29Speaker 2: no layoffs or anything, no lost jobs as a result.
- 3:32Speaker 2: They'll rehire everybody full back pay for everybody. Figure what's today, Monday, Tuesday,
- 3:39Speaker 2: figure Wednesday. It formally ends. Everybody gets paid by the weekend.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Flights will get back to normal in time for Thanksgiving.
- 3:47Speaker 2: So hey, President Trump announced a lot of pardons. Was
- 3:53Speaker 2: it last night? Yeah? Last night? I remember the whole matter,
- 3:59Speaker 2: like seventy five pardons. People that had something to do
- 4:02Speaker 2: with questioning the twenty twenty election January sixthy. These are
- 4:06Speaker 2: the people that got behind it. Isn't not rioters at
- 4:09Speaker 2: the capitol. These are people that wanted to use a
- 4:11Speaker 2: different slate of electors. This was considered the lowest form
- 4:16Speaker 2: of treason. Now, of course you got totally corrupt media.
- 4:19Speaker 2: They never pointed out to anybody this happens all the time.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Democrats have done this, proposed alternate electors. Al Gore was
- 4:26Speaker 2: one of the people that did that. So when a
- 4:30Speaker 2: Republican get elected, Democrats on the floor on their January
- 4:36Speaker 2: sixth would actually say, we don't vote for these electors.
- 4:39Speaker 2: We want to vote for an alternate slate of electors.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Happens all the time. But in the case of Trump,
- 4:44Speaker 2: the double standard, the hypocrisy, They were all over them
- 4:47Speaker 2: for that, and then all the people were involved, the
- 4:51Speaker 2: attorneys involved Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, all these types, the lawyers,
- 4:58Speaker 2: all were getting charged in all sorts of cour in
- 5:00Speaker 2: all sorts of places. Now, this pardon is only for
- 5:03Speaker 2: federal cases, so it doesn't affect the current cases going
- 5:07Speaker 2: on in you know, Rudy Giuliani and Georgia, Sidney Powell
- 5:09Speaker 2: and Georgia. It doesn't cover those local cases if it's
- 5:12Speaker 2: only for federal charges, So why do it? Is it
- 5:16Speaker 2: just symbolic? No, Actually, this is because it's possible Republicans
- 5:21Speaker 2: could lose the mid terms and Democrats could take control
- 5:24Speaker 2: of Congress next year. If that's the case, they'll, you know,
- 5:28Speaker 2: these lunatics, their whole life is January sixth, one hundred
- 5:32Speaker 2: years from now. They'll be yelling about January sixth. For
- 5:34Speaker 2: those who don't remember, January sixth was that trespassing incident
- 5:39Speaker 2: at the Capitol. So in case the Democrats do take
- 5:42Speaker 2: control of Congress, they'll come after all these people. They'll
- 5:45Speaker 2: hold hearings, try to do criminal referrals. So that's why
- 5:50Speaker 2: a federal pardon for all of these people. Schumer on
- 5:54Speaker 2: the shutdown.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Our offer is not a new policy. This is not
- 5:57Speaker 4: negotiating in a shutdown. It's simply agreeing to maintain current
- 6:00Speaker 4: funding levels. One year extension is something many Republicans themselves
- 6:06Speaker 4: have said they want.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Does anybody take this guy seriously?
- 6:10Speaker 4: We will agree with the Republican Republican request not to
- 6:15Speaker 4: start negotiations until after the government reopens. All Republicans have
- 6:20Speaker 4: to do is say yes to extend current law for
- 6:24Speaker 4: one year.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I don't know, you know he's reading it off an
- 6:28Speaker 2: index card. He's got those big, big, big glasses now,
- 6:30Speaker 2: he got rid of little Ben Franklin glasses, got rid
- 6:33Speaker 2: of those cheap sport coats. He wears an actual suit now,
- 6:35Speaker 2: don't I don't know why you think somebody's listening to this.
- 6:38Speaker 2: If you watch these crazy Sunday shows, they're all talking
- 6:40Speaker 2: about Trump's in the cave, Trump's gonna ever watched the
- 6:43Speaker 2: ABC Sunday Show. It is the most ridiculous show in
- 6:47Speaker 2: the world. They got three rotating Trump haters, each one
- 6:51Speaker 2: hates Trump more than the other one. It's that old
- 6:54Speaker 2: weather beaten. What's her name? The woman I'm blanking out,
- 6:59Speaker 2: mar mar Radits, Martha Raddits, and then who's the Jonathan
- 7:03Speaker 2: carl who he comes down and it pretends to be
- 7:07Speaker 2: some sort of anchorman who's objectively looking at the news.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Meantime he's got a book out trashing Trump about it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So and then I think this week was actually George Stephanopolis,
- 7:17Speaker 2: who's like a pit bull just biting every day when
- 7:21Speaker 2: you watch him with a with a Republican guest, like
- 7:23Speaker 2: a pit bull, like mauling, biting, clawing. Then they come
- 7:27Speaker 2: back from the commercial, he's got a Democrat and he's
- 7:29Speaker 2: like a gentle little poodle. Just uh, it's a ridiculous show.
- 7:33Speaker 2: And then they have they go to our panel and
- 7:37Speaker 2: they tell you that the panel is made up of
- 7:39Speaker 2: Democrats and Republicans, but in a massive coincidence, the only
- 7:44Speaker 2: Republicans on the panel are people that have been fired
- 7:46Speaker 2: by Donald Trump and hate Donald Trump. Chris Christie is
- 7:49Speaker 2: one of this is this is why they love Chris Christie.
- 7:51Speaker 2: They can call him a Republican, but all he does
- 7:54Speaker 2: is bash Trump. In fact, Trump was asked about this yesterday.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Everybody knows I know Chris better than anybody in their
- 8:01Speaker 5: own I always felt he was guilty. But what he
- 8:05Speaker 5: did is he took the George Washington Bridge.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Was very serious.
- 8:08Speaker 5: He closed down the George Washington Bridge, and you had
- 8:11Speaker 5: medical people get ambulances caught up. You know, this thing
- 8:14Speaker 5: was closed down, and obviously he knew about it, but
- 8:19Speaker 5: he blamed the young lady that had worked for him
- 8:21Speaker 5: and another person and they got into a lot of trouble.
- 8:25Speaker 2: So that's the panel. It's a bunch two Democrats and
- 8:27Speaker 2: then well you have two Republicans. But just by coincidence,
- 8:30Speaker 2: there were both people fired bitterly bitter feud fighted by
- 8:35Speaker 2: Donald Trump, Ryan's prebus and Chris Christie Hey. Yesterday great
- 8:40Speaker 2: football game commanders and the Lions. President Trump leaving mar
- 8:44Speaker 2: A Lago early, like at noon, normally leaves about five o'clock,
- 8:48Speaker 2: but to go to the game, he did a flyover
- 8:50Speaker 2: with Air Force one over the stadium. The game, of
- 8:53Speaker 2: course being broadcast all over the country. Trump was a big,
- 8:56Speaker 2: big star there at the game. They kept covering him.
- 8:58Speaker 2: They invited him into the booth. We the Lions guy
- 9:01Speaker 2: when he scored the touchdown, did the Trump dance in
- 9:04Speaker 2: the end zone? Liberals woke Democrats would get sick watching this,
- 9:10Speaker 2: but they never watched football. They never do. Some people
- 9:14Speaker 2: are now proposing to rename the stadium in Washington, d C.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Trump Stadium. He was instrumental in getting the funding getting
- 9:22Speaker 2: it built. That's the reason to justify it. But the
- 9:25Speaker 2: real reason to do it is just to drive people
- 9:28Speaker 2: in Washington nuts. Just to drive the Democrats nuts because
- 9:32Speaker 2: every time they have to drive by it is a
- 9:34Speaker 2: big signed Trump stadium, they'll go crazy. But they had
- 9:38Speaker 2: him in the broadcast booth for about nine minutes yesterday
- 9:40Speaker 2: on the broadcast. Remember Trump actually owned a football team,
- 9:44Speaker 2: the New York Generals, or was it the New Jersey Generals.
- 9:48Speaker 2: The Generals remember herschel Walker. Remember they formed that other
- 9:51Speaker 2: football league UFL, whatever it was. But Trump actually owned
- 9:55Speaker 2: a football team, and he was a football player in
- 9:58Speaker 2: college and in high school. And well here's Trump in
- 10:04Speaker 2: the booth yesterday.
- 10:04Speaker 6: I played tight end, but I mean it was not
- 10:08Speaker 6: quite football like this.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It was a little bit easier.
- 10:11Speaker 6: It wasn't so tough, and we had a quarterback.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Who didn't have a very strong arm.
- 10:15Speaker 6: I would say ten yards was a long pass.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Yeah, So he was pretty good there. They kept him
- 10:20Speaker 2: on a long time.
- 10:21Speaker 6: I love the Jets and I love the Giants. I
- 10:23Speaker 6: had a lot of friends Baptist and some people that
- 10:25Speaker 6: owned the Giants at the time as we're going along
- 10:28Speaker 6: and progressing, and you know, look, we had a couple
- 10:30Speaker 6: of Super Bowls with the Giants. The Jets have been
- 10:33Speaker 6: having a little bit of a hard time. Woody's a
- 10:34Speaker 6: great guy. He's a great friend of mine. They'll get
- 10:38Speaker 6: it together.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Woody Johnson's a great guy. The worst owner in
- 10:42Speaker 2: the history of sports, nobody's a close second, single worst
- 10:47Speaker 2: owner in the history of sports. Hey, you probably didn't
- 10:51Speaker 2: watch Saturday Night Live, And if you do, it's hard
- 10:53Speaker 2: to stay with it more than ten minutes. It's just
- 10:56Speaker 2: not that funny anymore. But Saturday Night Live doing a
- 10:58Speaker 2: lot of jokes about about the election, about all that stuff. Opening,
- 11:03Speaker 2: you know, the opening sketch was really stupid. It was
- 11:07Speaker 2: You may have seen this incident in the White House.
- 11:09Speaker 2: They're having a little briefing in the White House with
- 11:13Speaker 2: the heads of the drug companies. They're going to make
- 11:15Speaker 2: those Osempic type drugs cheaper, make them available on medicare,
- 11:20Speaker 2: all these pharmaceutical types in the room, and a guy
- 11:22Speaker 2: collapses right in the Oval office. There's like all the
- 11:25Speaker 2: presses there, all these people. A guy just passed. We
- 11:29Speaker 2: didn't know if he had a heart attack, or he
- 11:30Speaker 2: passed out or what. He just collapsed and these guys
- 11:35Speaker 2: there are officials from these medical companies, pharmaceutical company, so
- 11:38Speaker 2: he assume they know something medical. But they as he collapsed,
- 11:42Speaker 2: they put him on the ground and doctor Oz is
- 11:44Speaker 2: standing there. He's part of the briefing. As soon as
- 11:47Speaker 2: it happens, doctor Oz is right over there tending the guy.
- 11:50Speaker 2: So everybody gets out of the way and doctor Oz
- 11:53Speaker 2: is trying to help the guy. And the Saturday Night
- 11:57Speaker 2: Life opening sketch was about how Donald Trump is oddly
- 12:00Speaker 2: see some sort of psycho. He saw a man passing out.
- 12:02Speaker 2: He did nothing, He just stood there, which made no sense.
- 12:06Speaker 2: You got one of the greatest doctors on the face
- 12:08Speaker 2: of the earth, doctor Oz, right there. He runs over.
- 12:11Speaker 2: He's taking care of the guy. Would you jump in
- 12:13Speaker 2: and interfere with that? No, nobody would. Also, the White
- 12:17Speaker 2: House Medical Office is about forty seconds away. They threw
- 12:21Speaker 2: the press out of the room, so we didn't see
- 12:23Speaker 2: all of this. But the White House Medical Office is
- 12:25Speaker 2: a very very serious thing. It's got a bunch of doctors,
- 12:28Speaker 2: nurses in there. They got all kinds of equipment. It's
- 12:30Speaker 2: pretty much like a little emergency room. Right in the
- 12:33Speaker 2: White House. But then Saturday Night Live opening sketch is
- 12:36Speaker 2: usually something you want to watch, and then after that
- 12:39Speaker 2: it's all downhill. Then they do that weekend update, the
- 12:42Speaker 2: fake news, the fake newscast they did go after a well, now,
- 12:48Speaker 2: listen to this. They talk about mom, Donnie, who watches
- 12:51Speaker 2: Saturday Night Live, Who's in that audience, what type of
- 12:53Speaker 2: people take a listen. This will show you exactly what type.
- 12:57Speaker 7: On Tuesdays are on mom. Donnie was elected mayor.
- 13:07Speaker 8: He was elected.
- 13:12Speaker 7: A lot of sleeve offans. He was elected mayor despite
- 13:16Speaker 7: his opponent Andrew Cuomo, receiving endorsements from Donald Trump and
- 13:20Speaker 7: Eric Adams, which is like trying to bring a girl
- 13:23Speaker 7: home by saying, not to brag, but I have hepatitis
- 13:26Speaker 7: B and C.
- 13:28Speaker 2: But listen to that ovation from Donnie winning and Cuomo.
- 13:33Speaker 2: You know, at the end of the year, which is
- 13:35Speaker 2: not that far away, I hate to say, but in
- 13:37Speaker 2: the month and a half at the end of the year,
- 13:38Speaker 2: they always do that the winner of the year loser
- 13:40Speaker 2: of the year. Usually you wait to see who who
- 13:44Speaker 2: will people pick? Well, with loser of the year, you
- 13:46Speaker 2: don't have to wait for anything. It's obviously Andrew Cuomo
- 13:49Speaker 2: getting ridiculed on Saturday Night Live, Andrew Cuomo the loser
- 13:53Speaker 2: of the year. You know, if Curtis had not been
- 13:55Speaker 2: in the race, if there was no Curtis, it wouldn't
- 13:58Speaker 2: have helped Andrew Cuomo at all. In fact, at the
- 14:01Speaker 2: very end, if you took every Curtis voter and added
- 14:03Speaker 2: it to Cuomo, he still lost by a few points.
- 14:06Speaker 2: And this is with every possible advantage, everybody everywhere telling
- 14:12Speaker 2: everybody to vote for Cuomo the president, everybody, even with that,
- 14:17Speaker 2: he couldn't win. And boy and Saturday Night Live, they
- 14:21Speaker 2: went after Cuomo.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Andrew Cuomo spent the last day before the election campaigning
- 14:25Speaker 4: around the city and a.
- 14:26Speaker 3: White Ford Bronco, which is what O. J.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Simpson used to get away from police. But at least
- 14:33Speaker 2: oj was ahead and a race for a while. So
- 14:38Speaker 2: Cuomo just getting ridiculed by everybody. Let's see if he
- 14:41Speaker 2: leaves New York City. He was always in Westchester, his
- 14:44Speaker 2: whole a doubt life Westchester. When it looked like he
- 14:48Speaker 2: wanted to run from mayor, he rented an apartment in
- 14:51Speaker 2: the city so he could be a New York City
- 14:53Speaker 2: resident during the campaign. But it's over. Now, let's seef
- 14:56Speaker 2: he goes back to Westchester or where he goes. Hey,
- 14:59Speaker 2: we got a lot coming up. We'll get back to
- 15:03Speaker 2: Mom Donnie and what's next. There's some interesting developments there,
- 15:06Speaker 2: who's in, who's out with Mom Donnie? And a whole
- 15:10Speaker 2: lot more to talk about. We'll take some calls next.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the
- 15:15Speaker 2: number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Give wr O Bri said on the iHeartRadio app to
- 15:24Speaker 1: hear Mark Simone and all the WOR hosts in an instance.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simo show on WR.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh, let's
- 15:37Speaker 2: go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how you doing?
- 15:40Speaker 1: Good morning, Mark.
- 15:41Speaker 8: I'm doing very well.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 15:43Speaker 8: Mark.
- 15:43Speaker 1: From what you describe, it sounds like the Sunday Morning
- 15:47Speaker 1: talk show, especially with George Stephanopolis, is like the View
- 15:51Speaker 1: only on Sunday. And I have to ask number one,
- 15:55Speaker 1: we know he's not a true journalist. And number two,
- 15:58Speaker 1: why don't they follow the lead of CBS and just
- 16:01Speaker 1: not renew his contract?
- 16:04Speaker 2: George Stefanopolis, I don't know he's convinced the ABC top
- 16:09Speaker 2: people of the Disney people, that he is the most
- 16:11Speaker 2: connected guy in the democratic world, that he's a powerful
- 16:14Speaker 2: force there. They I don't know how he's convinced him
- 16:17Speaker 2: of this, but somehow they fell for it, and they're
- 16:21Speaker 2: just afraid to fire him. At some point they actually will.
- 16:24Speaker 2: You know, you got the View the ABC Sunday Morning
- 16:29Speaker 2: this week with George Stephanoppolis. They're all the same things,
- 16:31Speaker 2: just different. You know, one is the low IQ show,
- 16:34Speaker 2: the View one is the high IQ Show. But you
- 16:38Speaker 2: watch the Sunday Show on ABC, you won't know what's
- 16:41Speaker 2: going on. They actually say I saw them in a
- 16:43Speaker 2: bunch of Sunday shows. They've actually said the phrase with
- 16:46Speaker 2: inflation raging, there's no raging. Inflation three percent? It was
- 16:51Speaker 2: nine percent under Biden. You never mentioned it. Under Biden,
- 16:55Speaker 2: you never heard about it. It was triple what it
- 16:58Speaker 2: is now now you get this word affordability. This is
- 17:02Speaker 2: the crisis affordability. We had the worst inflation under Joe
- 17:06Speaker 2: Biden in history. Did you ever hear them use the
- 17:07Speaker 2: word affordability? Never even mentioned it. They've never mentioned the
- 17:11Speaker 2: word till now. Let's go to Bruce in West Milford. Bruce,
- 17:14Speaker 2: how you doing, Hey, Mark nice, forget it.
- 17:17Speaker 8: Listen. I live in West Milford, about seven miles away,
- 17:19Speaker 8: is Derek.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Why are you talking so fast?
- 17:23Speaker 8: Oh? Good? On my work. We live about seven miles
- 17:26Speaker 8: from Derek jeters old Cloma wants to.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Buy it Derek jeters old house.
- 17:31Speaker 8: Yeah, the one he just sold for fourteen million dollars
- 17:33Speaker 8: or something.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Where's that in Greenville Lake, New York.
- 17:37Speaker 8: It's right on the border. Anyway, I want to say
- 17:39Speaker 8: about I was watching the TV on Westfield, all the
- 17:41Speaker 8: snap people picking up their They all got brand new
- 17:44Speaker 8: SUVs and everything. I can't understand it. Where do I go?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Room, I don't know, don't. I don't believe that. Andrew
- 17:49Speaker 2: Cromo will tell you he's got You're looking to buy
- 17:51Speaker 2: this house for fourteen May. These are rumors, just rumors,
- 17:54Speaker 2: no no verification of that. I can't fixture Andrew Cromo
- 17:57Speaker 2: living way up there. But let's go to Don in
- 17:59Speaker 2: New York City. Don. How you doing?
- 18:02Speaker 8: Yeah, fellow Mark wondering whatever became of Jonathan Schwartz.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Jonathan Schwartz is alive and well. I saw him the
- 18:09Speaker 2: other day, one of the greatest radio show hosts ever
- 18:13Speaker 2: in history. His Sunday show for many, many years, legendary.
- 18:18Speaker 2: He's retired now but looks good and he's still still
- 18:23Speaker 2: around and glad you remember him. That was one of
- 18:25Speaker 2: the greatest radio hosts ever. Nobody better on Sinatra, no
- 18:29Speaker 2: better musicologists in the world, and no better storyteller. He
- 18:33Speaker 2: got out due Jane Shepherd or any of them. Let's
- 18:37Speaker 2: go to uh Bill in Pennsylvania. Bill, How you doing Yo?
- 18:41Speaker 8: How you doing? Mark?
- 18:43Speaker 9: You know every election there's a PSA that floats around
- 18:47Speaker 9: before every election. It says you run out of every
- 18:49Speaker 9: five kids. Yeah, that's not even boats. They have now
- 18:54Speaker 9: a new gategory called food insecure.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that is the dumb where you're not supposed to
- 19:01Speaker 2: stay hungry anymore. You know, we have our hunger th
- 19:04Speaker 2: on battling hunger. You're not supposed to say You're supposed
- 19:07Speaker 2: to say food insecure. It's the dumbest phrase. Like I
- 19:14Speaker 2: guess at some point it's like a flood victim. You
- 19:16Speaker 2: can't say flood victim. There dryness insecure, food insecure? What
- 19:22Speaker 2: the hell does that mean? Let's go to Margaret in Westchester. Margaret,
- 19:25Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 19:27Speaker 10: I'm doing well? Yes, Margaret, I really like to speak.
- 19:31Speaker 10: Is it Marks? Them ound, let me check, Yes, it
- 19:34Speaker 10: is okay. I just have several things to say. Things
- 19:39Speaker 10: are so mixed up. And if people only check things
- 19:42Speaker 10: before they started talking, and if they weren't jealous of
- 19:47Speaker 10: each other, things would not be as bad as they are.
- 19:51Speaker 10: If everyone just concentrates on what they're really supposed to do. Yes,
- 19:56Speaker 10: And I'm wanting to say, notatching you for a long time.
- 19:59Speaker 10: It's just an out of concentration figuring things out, being respectful,
- 20:06Speaker 10: being respectful.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I'm I'm kidding. Where do you live in Westchester?
- 20:11Speaker 10: I live on the Tellam near Rochelle Border. Oh, very
- 20:14Speaker 10: nice complex.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there's there a.
- 20:16Speaker 10: Lot of seniors there, many seniors, many young children and
- 20:21Speaker 10: a view of the water of Long Island. Sound.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Oh there you go like near a premium point.
- 20:27Speaker 10: Yes, yes, really nice and.
- 20:30Speaker 2: All you seniors there. It's kind of a lot of
- 20:32Speaker 2: wild parties and stuff like that.
- 20:34Speaker 10: No, no, very nice things by gone on Halloween and everything.
- 20:39Speaker 10: All nice things, all really nice things. Yeah, and you
- 20:44Speaker 10: do a lot of good things, and just we have
- 20:47Speaker 10: to just get things together and let people realize what
- 20:51Speaker 10: they're doing and do what they're supposed to do with
- 20:53Speaker 10: their jobs.
- 20:54Speaker 2: So what you're saying, is we have to do what
- 20:57Speaker 2: we're supposed to do, and what we're supposed to do,
- 20:59Speaker 2: we should just go do you Is that what you're.
- 21:00Speaker 10: Saying exactly exactly?
- 21:04Speaker 2: All right? Thanks for calling Nessald like a nice woman
- 21:07Speaker 2: there in Margaret. All right, So everybody remember that whatever
- 21:10Speaker 2: it is you do, make sure you do it. I
- 21:14Speaker 2: don't know what that means. Now. Every day I make
- 21:17Speaker 2: up a to do list. I used to have it
- 21:20Speaker 2: on a piece of paper, and now it's on the phone.
- 21:23Speaker 2: It's an app with your to do list every day
- 21:25Speaker 2: and make up those are all the things I need
- 21:27Speaker 2: to do today. Then at the end of the day,
- 21:31Speaker 2: I see I did none of them. This is, you know,
- 21:34Speaker 2: the good thing about having on an app, because the
- 21:36Speaker 2: old way you had to like rewrite it every day.
- 21:38Speaker 2: This way you just leave it there on the app. Now,
- 21:41Speaker 2: a very wise guy that once said, because you probably
- 21:44Speaker 2: do this too, stop with the two do lists. Don't
- 21:47Speaker 2: make the two do list. You're never going to do it.
- 21:50Speaker 2: What you should do at the end of every day,
- 21:52Speaker 2: at the end of the day, make a list of
- 21:54Speaker 2: what you did. Make a list of what you did
- 21:57Speaker 2: at the end of the day, and it'll start to
- 21:59Speaker 2: embarrass you a little. You can't think of anything, So
- 22:01Speaker 2: try that for a while. It actually works. Hey, Michael Goodwin,
- 22:04Speaker 2: not with us this week. Hopefully you'll be back next week.
- 22:06Speaker 2: But when we come back, the brilliant columnist Liz Peak
- 22:11Speaker 2: will be with us next on seven to ten. WR
- 22:14Speaker 2: Marximoni's back on seventeen.
- 22:17Speaker 11: Wor Well.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Liz Peak, the brilliant columnist also has a great website,
- 22:23Speaker 2: lizpeak dot com. All kinds of great stories and the
- 22:26Speaker 2: new stuff every day lizpeak dot com. You get a
- 22:30Speaker 2: column there also at Fox News and The Hill. Liz Peak.
- 22:33Speaker 2: How you doing.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I'm well, thank you.
- 22:35Speaker 12: I'm delighted that the government is going to be up
- 22:38Speaker 12: and running, hopefully within days.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Oh I'm not. I keep it closed. We don't need
- 22:42Speaker 2: these people back to Clearly, it was a I will
- 22:49Speaker 2: say cave in a concession on the part of Democrats,
- 22:52Speaker 2: and Schumer said I will oppose it. But obviously he
- 22:54Speaker 2: gave the wink in the nod for eight people to
- 22:56Speaker 2: jump ship. Right.
- 22:58Speaker 3: I don't know if he did.
- 23:00Speaker 12: I think that Schumer has kind of lost his way, honestly,
- 23:03Speaker 12: and look he is getting blasted again for allowing this
- 23:11Speaker 12: vote to take place, and for conceding, for actually for
- 23:16Speaker 12: winning nothing. That's the thing, Mark, is that what did
- 23:20Speaker 12: the Democrats get from all this? What did they get
- 23:23Speaker 12: from endangering air travelers in America and throwing hundreds of
- 23:27Speaker 12: thousands of government employees off their payrolls and for causing
- 23:32Speaker 12: SNAP beneficiaries to have a heart attack because they weren't
- 23:35Speaker 12: going to get any SNAP payments. The answer is they
- 23:38Speaker 12: got nothing zero. They're not going to get an automatic
- 23:42Speaker 12: extension of the Obamacare subsidies that they were supposedly fighting for.
- 23:46Speaker 12: They're not going to get a rollback of the reforms
- 23:48Speaker 12: to Medicaid that they're so opposed to. They lost, and
- 23:51Speaker 12: I think, honestly, for Schumer, this is a catastrophe. Look,
- 23:57Speaker 12: their party is already eating their own. This is just
- 24:00Speaker 12: giving them more defeast on.
- 24:04Speaker 2: But correct me if I'm wrong. Nobody's ever gotten anything
- 24:06Speaker 2: out of a shutdown, these shutdown caucuses like oh for fourteen,
- 24:09Speaker 2: aren't they?
- 24:10Speaker 3: Ah?
- 24:11Speaker 12: You know, I haven't gone back and looked at all
- 24:13Speaker 12: the ones.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, I sort of tend to
- 24:16Speaker 3: agree with that.
- 24:17Speaker 12: I can't really remember a time when either Republicans or
- 24:21Speaker 12: Democrats won any big points from shutting the government down.
- 24:26Speaker 12: Now when the GOP does it, which they did in
- 24:30Speaker 12: the Tea Party era.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Because they wanted less spending.
- 24:33Speaker 12: Of course, when you have the entire media world with
- 24:36Speaker 12: very few exceptions on your side, as Democrats always do,
- 24:41Speaker 12: you end up being the people you know, then obviously
- 24:44Speaker 12: the GOP looks like they're responsible and they're blamed for
- 24:47Speaker 12: everything that goes wrong, so it's probably not surprising that
- 24:50Speaker 12: they don't end up winning very much in this case.
- 24:53Speaker 12: It really has been pretty astonishing to watch. I mean,
- 24:56Speaker 12: I tweeted out something or exed out something yesterday a
- 25:01Speaker 12: paragraph from Axios saying, it's hard to blame the Democrats.
- 25:06Speaker 12: It's hard for Republicans to blame the Democrats for the
- 25:08Speaker 12: shutdown when, after all, they control all three branches of government.
- 25:12Speaker 12: It's like the author never heard of the filibuster. They
- 25:15Speaker 12: don't know how it works. I mean, really, Mark, you
- 25:18Speaker 12: got to say, that's pretty damn dishonest. And that is
- 25:21Speaker 12: sort of the tone that the left wing media, meaning
- 25:25Speaker 12: all the media except for you and me, has been
- 25:28Speaker 12: treating this.
- 25:29Speaker 3: As you know, it's all the Democrats are the good guys.
- 25:32Speaker 12: The Republicans or Likekem Jeffries is out there every two
- 25:36Speaker 12: minutes going President Trump and the Republicans are trying to
- 25:39Speaker 12: starve the American people and that's why they won't reopen
- 25:42Speaker 12: the demin I mean, really it's pretty appalling. You look
- 25:45Speaker 12: at his look at his Twitter feed or x feed.
- 25:48Speaker 12: That's exactly what he's been saying.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, people have to just accept the
- 25:51Speaker 2: fact axios and Political Politico are as corrupt as those
- 25:55Speaker 2: the networks are. They're just awful.
- 25:57Speaker 12: Well, they're just dishonest. I don't know about corrupt the honest,
- 26:00Speaker 12: And it's just a.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Shame, you know.
- 26:02Speaker 12: I Mean, at some point I get so tired of
- 26:06Speaker 12: Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal and all the usual suspects,
- 26:10Speaker 12: Corey Booker, etc. Gavin Newsom just plain lying about stuff.
- 26:15Speaker 12: They do it all the time. And I don't know
- 26:18Speaker 12: about you, I just sort of I just think that's wrong,
- 26:21Speaker 12: And I really think it's kind of astonishing that more
- 26:23Speaker 12: Americans don't rebel against that.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Hey, if we had honest media, wouldn't they ask a
- 26:28Speaker 2: Democrat if it's the Affordable Care Act, If it's so affordable,
- 26:32Speaker 2: why would you need a subsidy to pay.
- 26:33Speaker 12: For it that I mean, when it is pretty ironic,
- 26:37Speaker 12: you take a step back. If this thing all came
- 26:40Speaker 12: down to the extension of kind of emergency premium subsidies
- 26:45Speaker 12: so that people can afford Obamacare, what does that say
- 26:49Speaker 12: about Obamacare? What it says is that it's a failed program.
- 26:53Speaker 12: It never worked. The minute that the Supreme Court struck
- 26:57Speaker 12: down the individual mandate, you knew it was a catastrophe
- 27:01Speaker 12: because the whole concept of Obamacare was that you were
- 27:05Speaker 12: going to have millions and millions, tens of millions of
- 27:08Speaker 12: Americans enrolled, including young healthy Americans, and you would insist
- 27:15Speaker 12: on their enrolling even if they didn't want to, because
- 27:18Speaker 12: you had this individual mandate, and they were going to
- 27:21Speaker 12: carry the costs basically of the older, sicker Americans who
- 27:25Speaker 12: really had to have health insurance and also signed up
- 27:29Speaker 12: for Obamacare. When those young when that young cohort, the
- 27:32Speaker 12: young healthy cohort, heard that they no longer had to
- 27:36Speaker 12: buy Obamacare because the Supreme Court says it's against our
- 27:39Speaker 12: constitution to make somebody buy something, then the program was done.
- 27:44Speaker 12: But the Democrats never admitted it. But now, excuse me,
- 27:49Speaker 12: now they are faced with the reality that it doesn't
- 27:51Speaker 12: work without that individual mandate.
- 27:54Speaker 2: That's a perfect explanation of the problem.
- 27:56Speaker 3: And of course it's true.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Of course, have actual media that reports all that explains
- 28:02Speaker 2: all that, but they don't. So the Mamdani administration is forming.
- 28:10Speaker 2: It looks like a lot of people from the Deblasio administration.
- 28:13Speaker 2: So that's not I mean, it's bad, but we got
- 28:16Speaker 2: through eight years at Deblasio. We'll get through this, all right, won't.
- 28:18Speaker 12: We We'll get through it, but it's going to be
- 28:21Speaker 12: a pretty unpleasant time.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And I think.
- 28:23Speaker 12: Probably the X factor in all of this is the
- 28:27Speaker 12: anti semitism. You know, I'm look, progressives are going to
- 28:33Speaker 12: fail because their policies are bad.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Eventually we'll get rid of this guy. But it's the
- 28:39Speaker 3: cozying up to.
- 28:41Speaker 12: People like the unindicted co conspirator in the World Trade
- 28:46Speaker 12: Center bombings that really makes me anxious.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, we got through eight years of Deblasio.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Well what does it mean? What does it mean for
- 28:56Speaker 2: the Yeah?
- 28:59Speaker 12: Now, but he wasn't like a Muslim friendly with terrorists, right,
- 29:03Speaker 12: that's a pretty new thing for New York City mayor.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Well, he was pretty bad. Member honeymooned in Cuba. He
- 29:09Speaker 2: was seen with the cop killing a terrorist down there, Cheshmeer.
- 29:12Speaker 3: That's true.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so that is true. Well, what does this mean
- 29:16Speaker 2: for the midterms? If macdonne takes over by you know,
- 29:20Speaker 2: fall of next year, it's a mess in New York
- 29:22Speaker 2: that will affect the midterms, won't it.
- 29:24Speaker 12: Well, I think that the more that he comes up
- 29:27Speaker 12: with really crackpot ideas and tries to implement them and
- 29:30Speaker 12: they fail. Yes, the Republicans you use that as an example,
- 29:35Speaker 12: but by the way, I'm sorry them having this coffee attack.
- 29:39Speaker 12: We're already seeing Democratic Socialists attack and now challenging Hakeem Jeffries.
- 29:47Speaker 12: And my guess is AOC is going to primary Chuck Schumer.
- 29:51Speaker 12: There's going to be an awful lot of moderate traditional
- 29:54Speaker 12: Democrats under the gun as we approach the midterms. Is
- 29:58Speaker 12: that going to be good for them or for us?
- 30:01Speaker 12: I don't think it's very good for Democrats, and you
- 30:04Speaker 12: really do sort of see this civil war taking place
- 30:07Speaker 12: in their party. An awful lot of money is going
- 30:11Speaker 12: to be spent, I think protecting incumbents in the Democratic
- 30:16Speaker 12: Party like Schumer, who.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Is not popular.
- 30:21Speaker 12: But I think most funders are going to say, well,
- 30:24Speaker 12: you know, I really don't want AOC as my senator.
- 30:26Speaker 12: So I think they've got big problems going into the midterms.
- 30:30Speaker 3: And yeah, ma'am, Donnie is the face of that.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I measine. If John F. Kennedy came back to
- 30:34Speaker 2: life and looked at his party and said, what the
- 30:36Speaker 2: hell did you do to my Democratic Party?
- 30:39Speaker 3: Unbelievable, he would not recognize that mark. He would not
- 30:42Speaker 3: recognize it.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Really, well, everybody check out Liz Peak's columns at The
- 30:45Speaker 2: Hill or Fox News, but go to a website. There's
- 30:47Speaker 2: always a lot of great stories and analysis. Lizpeak dot com,
- 30:51Speaker 2: lizpeak dot com, Liz Peak. Thanks for being with us.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having me.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Have a great day, all right, take care and yeah, well,
- 31:01Speaker 2: Michael Goodwin should be back with us next week. Miranda
- 31:04Speaker 2: Devine will be with us in the next hour. Lots
- 31:07Speaker 2: to talk about. Don't forget Buck, Sexton, Klay, Travis. It's
- 31:09Speaker 2: an excellent show every day at twelve noon, then at
- 31:12Speaker 2: three o'clock. You got the most listened to radio show
- 31:15Speaker 2: in the world. Sean Hannity, that's a three. He's a
- 31:18Speaker 2: lot of big guests today. One of them will be
- 31:20Speaker 2: me somewhere between three and five on The Sean Hannity Show,
- 31:25Speaker 2: and then hey, don't forget Jimmy Fayala every night at
- 31:27Speaker 2: nine nine to midnight. Excellent show. Right here on seven
- 31:31Speaker 2: ten WR, You're ahead of the game just for being here.
- 31:36Speaker 11: It's marks alone on seven ten WR. Oh god, I
- 31:41Speaker 11: hate this getting dark early. It's like four fifty it's
- 31:44Speaker 11: like four to fifty five and it's dark. I can't
- 31:46Speaker 11: deal with this. So hey, tomorrow, so it will be
- 31:48Speaker 11: the first really cold day. It's going to be like
- 31:50Speaker 11: in the forties but feel like the thirties. Tomorrow you'll really,
- 31:53Speaker 11: really really feel it. Anyway, we've got a lot to
- 31:55Speaker 11: get to in the next hour. Stay right there back
- 31:58Speaker 11: after the news on seven to ten.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You oh r
