- 0:00[SPEAKER_05]: I'm Steve Kathan, breaking news on the Middle East, President Trump says on social media that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to attend a ceasefire.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_05]: It came hours after Defense Secretary Pete Higgs-Seth delivered a warning to Iran.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: Our forces are maximally postured to restart combat operations should this new Iranian regime choose poorly and not agree to a deal.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_05]: Exeth also said the U.S. blockade of Iran's ports will last for as long as it takes.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_05]: Aaron McLean is a CBS news national security analyst.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_36]: This blockade is in essence an active economic warfare and economic pressure to bring Iran to a more serious position at the bargaining table.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_36]: This ceasefire runs out in just a few days, early next week, will be its expiration.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_36]: And Secretary Hackset was saying that we have essentially military means that we can add back onto the economic pressure of the blockade if the United States chooses.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_05]: Now to Virginia, where police say the state's former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife, then took his own life at their home, their two children, were home at the time.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_05]: CBS's Nicole Skenga.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: The violence has been linked to some escalating tensions around the couple's separation.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: We know that they were living together, but in separate bedrooms and that the former Lieutenant Governor had been served paperwork related to his divorce.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_05]: There's flood and wind damage in parts of Wisconsin, Michigan, and other states after several days of violent weather.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_05]: CBS News meteorologist Jessica Birch says in some places there could be additional trouble later today.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_31]: More flooding potential into the evening hours tonight, so the National Weather Service, until further notice, has issued plenty of flood watches and warnings in places like Grand Rapids all the way over in Detroit.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_31]: So we're monitoring that closely as we're gearing up for an additional one to two inches of rain from that system.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_05]: But the third time in a month, there's been a close call between a commercial jets and a truck at an airport, CBS's Michael Wallace.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_07]: At American Airlines, Jet was taxing a Charlotte Douglas International Airport when an airport operations truck cut it off.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_07]: The flight to Washington, D.C. still took off on schedule, the incident comes a week after a frontier plane nearly collided with two trucks at LAX, and three weeks after an air candidate jet struck a fire truck at New York's LaGuardia airport, killing both pilots.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_05]: A federal commission selected by President Trump has approved the design concept for the triumphal arch she wants to build at an entrance to the nation's capital.

- 3:05[SPEAKER_32]: It doesn't clean as well.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_30]: 80% water?
- 3:07[SPEAKER_30]: I thought I was getting a better deal because it's so big.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_32]: If you want a better clean, tide pots are only 12% water.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_32]: The rest is pure concentrated cleaning ingredients.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_32]: Oh, let me make an announcement.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_32]: Attention shoppers!
- 3:21[SPEAKER_32]: If you want a real deal, try tide pots!
- 3:23[SPEAKER_32]: Stop paying for water down detergents.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_32]: Pay for clean.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_32]: If it's got to be clean, it's got to be tide pots.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_32]: Water content based on the leading bargain liquid detergent.

- 6:56[SPEAKER_16]: On our way to 70, what a gorgeous day.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, I'm going to rain a little later, but so what?
- 7:01[SPEAKER_16]: We got some warm temperatures.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_16]: And, uh, if I have to fire up the ear condition here, it can be 75 on Sunday or Saturday.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_16]: And then it does cool off Monday.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_16]: So feel free to tell your coworkers who is good at it.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_16]: We will get in a foot of snow.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_16]: It's not true, but go ahead and say it.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_16]: 755, 1240, our phone number.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I was talking about trash with someone today.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_16]: You know, and this was, you know how we're always talking about all our people, it's a big social thing for people out in the towns that go to the dump.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_16]: A lot of people here in the city like to go to the dump.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, well, one thing he did down in one Lewis County town, and they had trash, you know, it was all over in the place
- 7:52[SPEAKER_16]: So they got some local contractors, volunteers, donate or give discounts and building a facility for drop-offs.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_16]: And I Wednesday night and Saturdays you can go, I think this is in the town of Pinkney that's Barnes-Corners.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_16]: Probably don't elsewhere, and drop stuff off for free, and a lot of people do it.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_16]: Keep saying that with the city, why do we keep clinging to this?
- 8:28[SPEAKER_16]: These old notions of things, and the same thing with recycling.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_16]: Out in Pinkney, they got two giant dumpsters.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_16]: You put your so-called recyclables and one in your trash and the other.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_16]: I can't we do that here.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_16]: What is it we can't get over this stuff?
- 8:48[SPEAKER_16]: And here, you know, one thing about government people is,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_16]: they spend all their time telling you why you can't do something instead of looking for ways to do something because that's the way government works but yeah you could do something you could still maintain a pickup service even have it for free for those in need or make it $2 or something like that something nominals and yeah you're
- 9:23[SPEAKER_16]: Out and down in Pinkney, they got a garbage cop, they call them.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_16]: Grumpy old guy, I guess, that they have, make sure that people bring it to trash here in a really townies and not, not your outsiders, not your Rodman people, trying to get rid of their trash or something.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_16]: So I don't know why we keep resisting that notion, but brought up many times over the years
- 9:52[SPEAKER_16]: It's being done elsewhere.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_16]: And in fact, a lot of city residents go to the dump.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_16]: They drive all the way out there because they don't want to, you know, maybe they're needs their intermittent, maybe they don't want to deal with private haulers, maybe they don't like the city.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_16]: Let's make this thing attractive to people.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_16]: And, you know, nothing's for free, but if it's part of your service as you get so
- 10:23[SPEAKER_16]: Some way I look at it, but there's so much resistance up above.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_18]: But after you do it right in the air, hey Jeff, just want to give a shout-out to our hometown hero, Tom Holman.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_16]: What do you do now?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I'm just saying he's doing a great job.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_18]: We love him, don't we?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_18]: Well, of course we do.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_16]: Yes, we do.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_18]: Yep.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_18]: And if you
- 10:48[SPEAKER_18]: want to show that support you can go to sticker mule and type in Tom home in and you can get a I love Tom home in sticker or t-shirt.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, the t-shirts now.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, get t-shirts and you got two stickers that you can get on sticker mule just type in Tom home in one is Tom home and welcome here and the other is I love Tom home in.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, we love Tom home in.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_18]: We then, uh, collectively get that in a sticker or a t-shirt.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_16]: Wow, who
- 11:18[SPEAKER_18]: Exactly.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I'll repeat what I said yesterday as I am a big believer in the end of contrition and all that stuff.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_16]: People in sackets should get those shirts and wear them and the businesses should put the stickers in the window.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_16]: That's just because of time, home in or ice or Trump, forget all that out of your head.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_16]: Send the message
- 11:47[SPEAKER_16]: and friendliness and not this crazy trump derangedment syndrome that consumed certain aspects of second-starver government exactly i agree one hundred percent and uh... just go to sticker mule on tape and time home all right sounds good thank you right now and well sticker mule the mule mule as in four-legged and
- 12:17[SPEAKER_16]: Is that seven group place open yet on Arsenal Street?
- 12:21[SPEAKER_16]: I've heard some people rave about it.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_16]: I just get my coffee out of a curing thing here and you know for coffee at home I just slept a few of those cakeups in my pocket every day.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_16]: Hey!
- 12:34[SPEAKER_16]: Doesn't everybody do that at work?
- 12:37[SPEAKER_16]: Um... What else?
- 12:40[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, that's what we talking taxes.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_16]: Um...
- 12:44[SPEAKER_16]: Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan has proposed a $681 million city budget while 25% increase in the tax level.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_16]: Wow.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_16]: Hmm, that's something, isn't it?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_16]: Let's see, the U.T.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_16]: former Lieutenant Governor of Virginia killed his wife and himself today.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_16]: Why do people take other people with him?
- 13:09[SPEAKER_16]: Want to kill yourself?
- 13:13[SPEAKER_16]: Two pounds of pot found at Riverview Correctional Facility at Ogden's Bird, I thought pot was illegal.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_16]: I can't, they have pot there.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_16]: And the counties concerned that they want to have another 19 solar panel projects coming, the Blight to Landscape, jobs, jobs, jobs, that's what they'll tell you, doesn't do anything for our electric bills.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_16]: Mm-hmm.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, what else is going at about it?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_16]: You know, yesterday we told us that story that, oh, we'll get to it later.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_16]: Good afternoon here on the air.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_20]: Hey, where's Graham?
- 13:48[SPEAKER_20]: Let's take Monica while you're doing.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_16]: Good, Mr. Monica.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, what's up?
- 13:51[SPEAKER_20]: Well, you know, I just heard you start out on the, on the trash deal.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_20]: And I, at some time, I've read a couple of rainy days and months of city in their.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know if they're actually.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah, anybody said gear red ever but they're questioning some things.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_20]: And I went back 11 years in old budgets, and since 2017 to 18, up until I don't have audited numbers for 25, 26, but they projected a positive, and they've been saying there's $200,000, $200,000 news and money, well, it's actually when you take expenses
- 14:39[SPEAKER_20]: It's about a $42,000 actual difference in the scope of $60 million or whatever.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_20]: I don't think $42,000 is huge number.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, goodness no.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_20]: Because they're sailing around because they've, I believe, they've changed from one thing that's just ticked a lot of people off.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_17]: Mm-hmm.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_20]: They say a heck with it.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_20]: I know people are my street that used to use the city service.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_16]: Well, do you think you think that that's intentional that the the brass there really doesn't want anything to do with trash service so they kind of you know Then it's round about where you make sure it's not that popular You know it sort of seems that way.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_20]: I'm not gonna say it's intentional What they you know
- 15:38[SPEAKER_20]: It was positive in the black right through and needed projected to the through this particular budget year or when, what they project to say, the stickers to be down.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_20]: So, what should I say?
- 15:51[SPEAKER_20]: People are just trying to help with, oh, you can't put it in the can.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_20]: Now you've got to have it in the can.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_20]: I wouldn't taste it.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_20]: Oh, no.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_20]: But now you've got to have it in the can that we say is, we, the city, says, is okay.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_20]: And that's not a big deal.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_20]: You could go to the brewery dairy and it was given that things all like you're given away cheese.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_20]: I don't think they want to deal with it personally.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_20]: I just think it's something that they don't want to bond with it, just a... Mm-hmm.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_20]: It's a service that serves to people.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_16]: Why can't we do with the town of Pinkney does?
- 16:28[SPEAKER_20]: Well, that's a different world up there now, you know.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I know.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_16]: They're a little... Yeah, but it...
- 16:36[SPEAKER_16]: Conceptually, why can't you have, and you got all that land, they just bought over at Vanduzy Street, what's some black top down in a fence, make it DEC friendly, and let people come over their Saturdays and either dump it for free and have a big dumpster and a big dumpster for recyclables.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_16]: Why is that?
- 17:01[SPEAKER_16]: Why can you do it?
- 17:05[SPEAKER_16]: you know where you haven't got all these six figure people that you told us about fact i don't think they have any and they can't make that work here but they can make it work there but not here i don't i don't get it i know there's scale and there's different things and we're gonna have to deal with elderly and disabled and you can always accommodate those things but i just don't see why we can't get outside the box and think of something else
- 17:35[SPEAKER_16]: It's something like that could possibly I think you can give it away personally just say you don't but for free that's that's given a that's why not give it away so you can put some kind of a charge on it okay I'm not sure one time I can't have figured out well I don't think you can I don't think you can drive up with your you know your entire garage you just demolished and dump it on the city you know but if you got a you know if you want to come over to
- 18:04[SPEAKER_16]: the call of the transfer site if you need a euphemism and you get to dump a bag and after that you pay for it I don't care what you do I'm telling you I think the system is there now is kind of workable in one respect and that you can if you only have one or two bags a month you put them in there roll the thing out once a month that's great
- 18:25[SPEAKER_16]: But people were so confused.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_16]: It wasn't explained.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_16]: They've got to go out and buy a dump, a toner, and they don't want to do that, because they want everything for free, and so.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_20]: Very poor roll-out, very poor communications, although they say they get a chance of the day.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_20]: If everybody goes to somebody's website, they could have put up.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know, I think they put anything in my throat, tell me my day was going to change some one need to fry you, I just, well, you're an insider, you know that's it.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_20]: Well, you can be an insider.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_16]: Well, what would Pete Meineck are to do if you were in office, hang in the world, didn't have to put up with some city manager who's got, you know, that type of a, you were in charge of everything.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_20]: How would you run it?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_20]: But you know, your idea is not without some merit, okay?
- 19:28[SPEAKER_20]: It just needs to be looked into.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_20]: We used to have a couple drop-off days.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_20]: It's a fairgrounds, isn't it?
- 19:34[SPEAKER_20]: It's a spring drop-off.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_20]: Right.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_20]: Right.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_20]: It was a money loser, but it was still a service for people.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_20]: Because everybody was on over time,
- 19:51[SPEAKER_20]: I've never had me hauled up the county state open to four o'clock.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_20]: We had to pay those folks and everybody was a service to the people all right.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_16]: Well, you're the expert.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_16]: You've been around this for a hundred years.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_20]: Why does he entire rest of the world have co-mingled recycling, but we can that's a good question.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_20]: They want the source separated back and I don't know we need is whatever the open their system out there But what's the test?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_16]: What do they do out in the towns?
- 20:27[SPEAKER_16]: What do you have to separate it there?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_20]: They have they have the tell you put a Recycle boxes each column that wants it and then it's cardboard here and glass here and in here Jefferson County, I think is Bob Lee what I have heard.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know what's as gospel is the only colony in New York state that separates recyclables
- 20:49[SPEAKER_20]: You know, the four or five year, I don't remember when 2021 or two, the city looked in the going to a coal-mingled recycling, back in, who was superintendent at the time, and myself went, I'd say to want to say, work up a deal, Mr.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_20]: Mix at the time, and the city manager, we go, no deliverables, we looked at the waste management.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_20]: willing to take our stuff.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_20]: And then there was a deal with Fort Drum, or I don't say news that we're dealing with Fort Drum.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_20]: If we wanted trucks, we could take all our stuff to Fort Drum, which is not before the gate.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_20]: And we were going to haul us mirrors and eyes, which might be met two trips a week to Syracuse, maybe three tops, and we have
- 21:49[SPEAKER_20]: Well, I don't I think it's what these guys wanted that the other guys did.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_20]: I really think that that's the political answer One moment a day and that's shit for sale You think it's because Smith and Compo wanted it So therefore resheroed Holdy and Hickey didn't want it I believe it was I believe it was I don't think it was Hickey.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_20]: I believe it was
- 22:12[SPEAKER_20]: The late councilman, Leonard Spazian, I think, was at the council on council when we presented that for both of us doing a budget session on a standard, I can't remember exactly when he was high.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_20]: I think he's still been, and he's finally got some read to fill in for a proper council in Russia, I believe, I think is Mr. Spazian.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_16]: Right, I gotcha, I gotcha.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_16]: Well, okay, I don't know, it's interesting, but you would think,
- 22:43[SPEAKER_16]: sensible minds business oriented minds could come up with something and it just strikes me and i'm not trying to be a stripper is with our esteemed administration but when i talk to people from other places or city residents are talking about going to the dump and i said well why what are they missing in the third floor that i'm catching and i'm i wrong or they wrong uh... the thing is with the
- 23:09[SPEAKER_20]: You know, I'm like, if I had 20 bags that might drive me to the dump, I got one bag, I'm not going to drive 12 13 miles per for the sake of $1, I mean, it's cost again.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, what do they do on drum, for trash?
- 23:23[SPEAKER_20]: They have, they collect trash in the grocery of building, just outside the gate, on Route 11, and they, uh, co-mingled for the recycling down drum.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_20]: some of it is because they were they don't run a floor they pack it into these wrong lost containers you know that was this situation where the city was going become a partnership with them and all it to the waste management thing in Liverpool although well-being so they could the most common transfer said they couldn't handle and more they called me to look there and they all theirs to uh...
- 24:06[SPEAKER_20]: uh... that uh... co-mingles and sorts of it's it's quite an operation if you watch it plastic goes here bones and off of his life it can go over here and uh... well we know they co-mingle and who is county that's why they only have five families or something up there but uh... i got sure what i think i believe i'm not sure if they want to come i think so with those a lot of them up there and they're pretty big elephant they very well
- 24:34[SPEAKER_20]: a cold-mingle wearer case, but they flinger, they bring the trash to a rod, and there's no way in the toilet.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_16]: Waste management, cold-mingles, right?
- 24:44[SPEAKER_16]: Because I got a dumpster from them, right?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_16]: Waste management?
- 24:48[SPEAKER_20]: But yeah, they're cold-mingle recyclables.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_16]: So, why can't we just give it all to them, and they can take it down there?
- 25:00[SPEAKER_20]: Good, but you got to have a place to go.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_20]: The vote for a 40-45 years ago bought a place in Paris, but they were going to stand up a material resource facility called the Merff.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_20]: And they couldn't get enough tonnage on the three colonies to make it pay.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_20]: So they'd end up sold.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_16]: But it does at half.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_16]: It's a government thing.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_16]: It's not going to necessarily pay.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_16]: You just do the best you can.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_20]: So if you think I'm going to do that,
- 25:30[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_20]: They bought land.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_20]: They bought a building and we had taken a way back.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_20]: I kind of under the cover.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_16]: I know.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_20]: I got it.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_16]: So anyway, you were telling me yesterday, you were driving down Main Street when at an accident occurred, right?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_16]: Did my place?
- 25:52[SPEAKER_20]: Yeah, that was, that was Whistland pretty good.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_16]: How were fast would you say he was going?
- 25:57[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_20]: He's going a lot faster than everybody else, I'll tell you that.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_16]: And never stop for the light.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_20]: I don't believe so.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_16]: No.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_20]: If you want to be one of the hit your million.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_16]: Exactly.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_16]: Exactly.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_16]: So, what do you do with that kind of stuff?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_16]: Or doesn't it matter?
- 26:19[SPEAKER_16]: It's sort of...
- 26:21[SPEAKER_20]: I can't.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_20]: You know, it's yeah, matters.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_20]: If it goes through light and get a building.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_16]: Well, what if it had killed somebody, not nobody would have cared if it was me, but, you know, yeah, put it killed a kid.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_20]: Look at that tree was there and that movehouse next year taking a pretty bad hit.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_20]: Pretty hard to move a maple tree.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_16]: Well, they were over sighted.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_20]: I showed them my two shots on the refuge.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know what, but city, they didn't make a decision sooner than later.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_20]: And just if that's a straw poll amongst the council, hey, yes, yes, yes, yes, no, yes, or whatever, because people are concerned, and they're looking, and they're going to lose, business they've got.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_20]: Now, because they want to lose a customer, select your mark.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_20]: You'll get somebody's tick off a child.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_20]: He or she's not going to come back.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_20]: How are you getting back in the spring, mayor?
- 27:20[SPEAKER_20]: You know what I'm saying?
- 27:22[SPEAKER_20]: I'm satisfied, customer, tell two or three people.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_20]: Somebody who's ticked off.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_20]: Well, so tell 50 people don't go to grab these in 80s, you don't want to be in the middle of the box.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_20]: And so I think the council needs to make this a struggle.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_20]: We're going to do this and they've already bought their order.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_20]: I don't know, $700,000 worth of trucks.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_20]: Well, they got one, but they got a couple more coming.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_20]: And they could actually direct home or they got a chance of action.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_20]: They could actually direct home or run them.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_20]: That was one of the plans on.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_20]: but that kind of got snuffed down.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_20]: The direct call of the robin and see if 30 bucks a time and price of fuel I realize is up right now.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_20]: But the time is not much different.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_20]: It's going one trip to robin and two trucks to the, there are two trips to the, the counties.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_20]: So it's, right.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_20]: One half a dozen of them are not available.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_20]: These will fuel $6, that's crazy.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_20]: But they could say the counties get $30 a ton for a cannon, the garbage in, the recycle.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_20]: And they end up selling the cardboard, there's some money in the plastic, go somewhere.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_20]: It's a commodity.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_20]: The numbers changed all the time.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_21]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_20]: You would have got paid for some of the recycling we took down there.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_20]: We'd have got a rebate they call it.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_20]: Depending on the market conditions at the time.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_20]: Whatever many tons we took was all for rated versus their old nine yards.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_20]: It was a better good deal.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_16]: But we can't just have this annual discussion of let's get rid of the trash thing.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_16]: And now they've come up with the rationale saying it loses 200,000 here.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_16]: We don't know what it, who knows what it really is.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_20]: Doesn't lose 200, it's the revenue is $200,000 less than the year before.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_20]: The actual difference between revenues is spent $42,000.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_20]: That's pretty insignificant number of $60 million.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_21]: Mm-hmm.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_20]: They're paying the $200,000.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_16]: I got you.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_20]: I got you.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_20]: I'm not too well like, but think about these guys for this.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_20]: I got a plan.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_16]: Well, they don't like it.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_16]: I like it.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_16]: I like it.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_16]: Okay.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_16]: Well, listen.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_16]: I got a run.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_20]: You better.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_20]: You've got a commercial.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_20]: You won't let you go.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_16]: All right.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_16]: Well, thank you.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_13]: And we'll be back with more in a moment.

- 32:56[SPEAKER_16]: It's all you need to know.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, all you need to know, I am 1240 W-E-T-E-M.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, I was mentioning yesterday this, that myriad of laws out of all that, when you're hiring people, you can't use a credit check.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_16]: But they do use that when you apply for auto insurance, don't they?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_16]: Now, most places are not going to have access to a dual credit check.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_16]: But you do what you can for background, Google somebody to look at their Facebook, social media, Facebook, you know, you check with former employers,
- 33:31[SPEAKER_16]: Obviously check references because when you don't do it, my experience is the one time something slips through is when you can get burned back and so you do want to check that.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_16]: Now there's other things you can do that you can't, you're not supposed to ask someone's age but you can tell or their marital status but you can tell if I'm talking to them whether they got problems, you know people who come in and and bat mouth their previous
- 34:02[SPEAKER_16]: you don't want anything to do with them or start screaming about how they were just scribblered against or something like that no you don't want that and uh... you know if they got a bullring and uh... that kind of stuff not that they can't be nice people i just don't like to look of course you don't say that because you know i suppose to say that but there is a lot of things you take into account you try to make the best judgment you can um... as far as credit scores
- 34:30[SPEAKER_16]: You know, somebody's a foreign idea.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_16]: You really want them.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_16]: You know, operating your cash register, probably not.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_16]: Uh, 755, 1240, the phone number, if you'd like to give us a call to be on the show of shows today.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_16]: Um, Talk about whatever you want.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_16]: Like I said earlier with that Buffalo City budget, I mean, it's a lot of these cities.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_16]: Uh, we're talking about our water town is not unusual.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_16]: not at all unusual around the state around the nation so there you go well what's going on with the president to pop these days now the president says that the pope wouldn't have gotten the office of it had been the papacy of an event for the waiters oh my god he didn't have a headset except for saying prayers this morning at a press conference
- 35:27[SPEAKER_16]: let the chairman of the joint chiefs in Admiral Kupu come out and talk about what they've been doing and spare us all the other stuff we got some great spokespeople in the White House, the basant Treasury Secretary Marco Rubio, great guy Secretary Kennedy, he's good
- 35:58[SPEAKER_16]: not universally and of course now uh... vance the vice president was supposed to be a catholic he converted catholic now he's got us you know defend the uh... statements against hope i'd just leave it be hope's got his role of course hope's supposed to be against war and when the pope says those who use religion as a front for war of the wrong
- 36:26[SPEAKER_16]: that could be a scribe to the uh... uh... machine to run on as well as some of the holy rollering that uh... accept us but so what let him speak his piece of the fight with him i think it's foolish but after dinner on the air yeah all the uh... still you wouldn't have to raise a property taxes on a property honor if they hadn't wasted eight million dollars on eight year old building municipal bill and downtown for one
- 36:54[SPEAKER_17]: And two Mr. Trump owns the gas price going up and the food prices going up because of his terrace.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_17]: Thank you.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_17]: Have a great night.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_16]: All right.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_16]: Thank you.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_16]: But after dinner on the air.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_19]: Hi Jeff.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_19]: How you doing?
- 37:09[SPEAKER_16]: Good job.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_19]: Hey, you're talking about, you know, getting rid of the garbage thing there.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_19]: How many employees are there?
- 37:21[SPEAKER_16]: Well, they're in.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_16]: part of public works.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not sure exactly how many and then the oversight of it obviously is people overseeing it.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_16]: It's concurrent with other functions.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_19]: If you guys talk for the last couple of years you and Frank and the angry man talk about you know getting rid of some people there well the folks aren't going to lose anything.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_19]: They're still going to have garbage pick up and just be privatized.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_19]: You're going to save money on legacy costs.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_19]: Unless you're not going to be paying those people, so I mean isn't that what you guys want it?
- 37:54[SPEAKER_16]: I didn't say I want it that.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_19]: Well, you need to reduction and work force and it's reduction and chewy.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_19]: It's good to stabilize your tax base if you're not paying the most people.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_19]: You know, contributing to their engines and all that.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_16]: Who picked up your trash?
- 38:10[SPEAKER_16]: Who picks up your trash up in the town?
- 38:12[SPEAKER_19]: I take mine, I use to have taken gold, but then if I didn't have that much, I'd just take it down and socialize at the transfer site, like we'd do in the towns, we all get together and talk about the old days and stuff like that.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, kind of like the old days over, we used to get together at the grocery shop with Bruce
- 38:39[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I don't know, I- Hey, you guys, it's been there for a while, he's so he's good, you know, and, uh, yeah.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_16]: Maybe we should better publicize that you can go to the dump even if you're a city resident.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_19]: Well, I don't think you had to be a town resident to go to the town transfer station.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_16]: No, I'm talking about the county transfer.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_19]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, we got our own, but yeah, you go to the town.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_19]: I know people that go to the county wanted to take their own trash.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_19]: you know, I used to like governors that was kind of cool you uh, they wager when you went in and then they wager when you went out and you paid the difference.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_19]: Hmm.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_19]: I thought that was kind of, and they do have separate bins, but in Florida everything is thrown in the same bins, and they got somebody that swore some kind of like Lewis County and way ahead of the, you know, for being a country folk, they're way ahead of the
- 39:39[SPEAKER_19]: I mean, you got 15 buckets outside your thing with the wind blowing them all out and stuff.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_19]: I never could figure that one out.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_21]: I can.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_19]: It talks for the garbage.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_19]: Why wouldn't you get one toe and put all that in there?
- 39:50[SPEAKER_19]: You wouldn't have all that plastic bottles flying down the street and newspapers.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_16]: Right.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_16]: I heard it's not even easy to buy a recycling truck, because nobody does it anymore the way we do.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_16]: It's almost a specialty order now, and you can't just go on the lot by one, right, oh, I don't know.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_19]: No, it's crazy.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_19]: They should, I mean, and then you got to wonder, too, if there's really a mark at the cardboard market still there, but it's not as pain as much as it was.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_19]: And of course, newspapers, you don't see any more, so I don't think they have a market for that, like these, too.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_19]: newspapers or a fake thing is a reason to recycle back in the paper and then you know now days you don't have newspaper show yeah just people like me uh... got it you were the last of them i think you know it's weird though down in florida people still get it by a notice how small of it is now i remember when i first started on years ago what paper and you get a paper now no now i watch point news
- 41:01[SPEAKER_19]: It's an hour long news, and there's nothing repeated on it, and if you watch the morning wink, the afternoon and evening are all different.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_16]: Really?
- 41:12[SPEAKER_19]: I mean, go, go.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, they never repeat the stories.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_16]: Well, you watched wink, news.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_19]: Wink news, yeah?
- 41:21[SPEAKER_16]: W-W-I-N-K. How are the rankers?
- 41:24[SPEAKER_16]: Good looking.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_19]: How are they?
- 41:31[SPEAKER_19]: uh... losing for a he got upset because they fired the weatherman well how uh... out of the anchors work on winty the well they got an older or she got older she's younger and i am but she's like in her fifty's probably tried fifty's older uh... she doesn't have some job and in the older guy there the two anchors at six
- 42:00[SPEAKER_16]: Now, is it Chris Chafati?
- 42:04[SPEAKER_19]: He's the one I think they got like go.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_19]: He was the weather guy to get like all I think.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_16]: These are anchors.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_16]: Gracie Fusco?
- 42:12[SPEAKER_19]: No, that's a different one.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_19]: Well, maybe it is.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_19]: I'm not sure.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_16]: This is Wink TV, the new steam.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_16]: Clear golf.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_16]: She's a looker.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_16]: Jillian Haggis.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_16]: These are the anchors.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_16]: Wow.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_16]: Lois, Tom, THOME.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_19]: Yeah, yeah, she's on an evening.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_16]: She looks a little older, Richard Vrishowski, who's a reporter.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_16]: Wow.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_19]: They got a lot of reporters.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_19]: They got a lot of reporters.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_19]: And then you know what they do too is kind of cool.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_16]: There's nobody really ugly there.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_19]: Once a month they have a get together with the anchors and you can tell them you're, what, how you feel about certain things to have an answer.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_16]: How about their weather team, Oceana Hayden, you know her?
