- 1:15Speaker 1: fatherhood is.
- 1:17Speaker 2: This is no parent lectures. Throughout the entire episode, we
- 1:19Speaker 2: do talk about things we enjoy and love and things
- 1:22Speaker 2: that we are learning about fatherhood and parenthood. But make
- 1:26Speaker 2: no mistake, these are two caveman brains raising some little ones,
- 1:31Speaker 2: just laughing along the way, trying to figure it out
- 1:33Speaker 2: along the way, building community with you, guys, having some fun,
- 1:37Speaker 2: having some laughs, having some lollipop, having some lollipop.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Maybe there might be a lecture about an Iowa wrestling
- 1:44Speaker 3: coach from the nineteen seventies to nineteen nineties.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You might find that on this Dad podcast.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We might read a comment and say, we need to
- 1:51Speaker 2: sit this gentleman down, look him in the eye, and
- 1:54Speaker 2: tell him some Dan gibble lord because he needs to
- 1:56Speaker 2: get his shit together. Yeah, you might hear that. You
- 1:59Speaker 2: might hear that, but it's a fun lecture. Yeah, maybe
- 2:03Speaker 2: it's a little excerpt from Daily Dad. Yes, we get emotional.

- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm having dad brain right now because I didn't know
- 2:23Speaker 1: where I was gonna go with that.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Maybe maybe we may even quote a scene from the
- 2:28Speaker 3: Lord of the Rings and we'll start crying as we
- 2:30Speaker 3: talk about yes emotions.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll laugh, we will cry. You will damn your
- 2:34Speaker 1: feel everything.

- 2:46Speaker 2: you could you could, you could bet on it on fandom.
- 2:48Speaker 3: You we did go on a run and last two
- 2:51Speaker 3: episodes we've cried.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Was it we done two in a row? No? Yeah, dude,
- 2:56Speaker 1: we will. Last week took a hard turn, took a tough.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Turn, nickly, surem two episodes ago, was mister Taylor lawant
- 3:02Speaker 4: Oh So there was a little gap of laughter, but
- 3:04Speaker 4: Taylor also says it's cool to cry. So Taylor did
- 3:07Speaker 4: say that. Yes he did say it's cool to cry.
- 3:10Speaker 2: As a PT six community, Papa Team sixers, we all
- 3:13Speaker 2: know it's cool to cry. It is, but we are

- 4:08Speaker 2: He is but a lot of fun stuff to talk about.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I am personally my overarching theme with Mike Toddler right now.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Rue is her receiving the word no, her receiving the
- 4:21Speaker 2: word no. Okay, I know Mom was in town for
- 4:24Speaker 2: you over the weekend. Yes, we will get into all
- 4:27Speaker 2: that stuff, but we do. We have to hit We
- 4:29Speaker 2: have to hit this stuff at the top because we
- 4:31Speaker 2: got some juicy Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 1: We can't let dad brain just let us run and
- 4:35Speaker 1: ramble because we got to keep this episode under and now.
- 4:37Speaker 2: We have to but off the writ This is off
- 4:42Speaker 2: the rip hot, off the press, Spotify again, this is
- 4:45Speaker 2: a gender reveal.
- 4:46Speaker 1: It's not our idea. This guy written in.
- 4:48Speaker 2: She basically baked it into our brains and we're like,
- 4:51Speaker 2: I got goosebumps because I'm like, this is awesome and.
- 4:53Speaker 4: This comes off the heels of the hobby commented last week.
- 4:57Speaker 4: So she took it upon herself to be like, if
- 4:59Speaker 4: he's going to shout me out, I'm doing this.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Ohso now the hubbies who rode in last week, they
- 5:03Speaker 2: got featured on the show. Now it's it's dwindled down.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Now those gentlemen are like his wife pregnant or what's
- 5:09Speaker 2: the section that? What's the section the baby?
- 5:11Speaker 1: Someone out there is going, am I A dad?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:14Speaker 3: Which you're at the This is the perfect podcast for that.
- 5:16Speaker 3: If you're asking yourself, am I am I A that?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Around?
- 5:19Speaker 1: What week do you find out the genders?
- 5:21Speaker 2: Around? Like sixteen?
- 5:23Speaker 3: Well that sounds right well with the DNA testing now,
- 5:27Speaker 3: it could be like eight weeks.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but we go at twelve. You've kept this from
- 5:30Speaker 1: me for twelve weeks?
- 5:31Speaker 2: And what do you do now? But here we go?
- 5:34Speaker 2: All right, drummer, Hello.
- 5:38Speaker 1: PT sixers.
- 5:39Speaker 2: My name is Raquel, and my husband Jorge made a
- 5:43Speaker 2: little shout to me on here and I am and
- 5:46Speaker 2: I am very thankful for your podcast because you have
- 5:48Speaker 2: helped my husband feel more secure in becoming a dad.
- 5:51Speaker 2: He does this is all capslock. He doesn't know the gender,
- 5:54Speaker 2: but I do. Ooh. He listens to every episode and
- 5:58Speaker 2: was hoping you could tell him the gender. Here we
- 6:02Speaker 2: are having parentheses. Drum roll. Oh boy, yeah, let's go.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Congrats to j congrates in the check, congrats in the comments.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, what should they comment to Joge in the in
- 6:21Speaker 1: the comments?
- 6:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm so giddy right now. Blue Heart Blue heart, blue heart,
- 6:25Speaker 1: Jorge blue heart.
- 6:27Speaker 2: She actually commented the blue heart emoji and the tears emotion.
- 6:32Speaker 1: The crying and I love that so blue heart and
- 6:34Speaker 1: crying with.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Good good God.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That's exciting. Is that that juice you up? Yeah?
- 6:41Speaker 2: It does that.
- 6:42Speaker 3: That people are even wanting to do that with this
- 6:45Speaker 3: podcast is awesome.
- 6:47Speaker 2: That's so much fun.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that was not our idea. Again, not experts on this, but.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I also I have some very juicy uh listeners submission
- 6:55Speaker 3: content right here. We we had a girl right in
- 6:59Speaker 3: court Courtney, looking for love, looking for love. She sent
- 7:03Speaker 3: an email basically saying like, hey, will sir, can you
- 7:06Speaker 3: put me on game? We tried our best, because again
- 7:10Speaker 3: we are not professionals, We're.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Not love experts, not at all.
- 7:13Speaker 3: But uh, there's a guy named Zachary Edwards out there
- 7:16Speaker 3: that just wanted, uh, he just.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Wanted to put himself out there to Courtney.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Wait wait wait, we got somebody. We're we're we're matching lover.
- 7:26Speaker 2: We're playing Cupid.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He provided a picture. No way, are you serious about this?
- 7:32Speaker 3: So Courtney, if you're watching, if you're listening, this is
- 7:35Speaker 3: zach This is Zachary.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Are you bullshitoting right now?
- 7:38Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That's real. That's real. That's that's a handsome boy.
- 7:41Speaker 2: That's a handsome boy. What nice Adam's apple. Yes, that's
- 7:46Speaker 2: a good that's a good son. That's t Yeah, I
- 7:49Speaker 2: T T Courtney.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Zachary Edwards rightes, fellas, my name is Zach Edwards from Indiana.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I don't remember where from. Hey, Zach, Zachy sad, handsome buddy.
- 8:03Speaker 3: The day has finally come for the Dad's as a
- 8:07Speaker 3: mac drinking show. You finally made it boys, congrats. I'd
- 8:10Speaker 3: be lying if I said I wasn't interested in who
- 8:13Speaker 3: Courtney Strong is.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Send this her way.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And let the for the Dad's gods do what they want.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I'm a twenty nine year old college tennis coach, no kids,
- 8:25Speaker 3: financially stable check my own apartment check, sports guy check
- 8:31Speaker 3: for the dad's check, supportive family check. And let's be real, fellas,
- 8:37Speaker 3: I'm not the ugliest stud in the barn. But I
- 8:40Speaker 3: damn sure.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Ain't no show pony. I like this guy. I like
- 8:44Speaker 2: him to.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I don't know this guy, like don't like wait, you know,
- 8:48Speaker 3: we don't know this guy. But from what I'm here
- 8:51Speaker 3: and I like what I'm hearing. He ends it with
- 8:54Speaker 3: let's see what Courtney thinks. Appreciate your time, fellas, love
- 8:58Speaker 3: what you're doing, Zach, and we'll leave it at that.
- 9:02Speaker 3: We're not doing anything else with that situation other than
- 9:05Speaker 3: we'll just what We'll watch it unfold.
- 9:08Speaker 1: You just watch it unfold. I mean, we have his
- 9:14Speaker 1: email address. I don't know if he wants probably yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 1: we probably shouldn't say his email address.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Zachary Edwards and he's a tennis coach in Indiana as.
- 9:24Speaker 2: A Michigan girly Michigan girly kind of like the the Midwest.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean Indiana and Michigan.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It kind of the Middle East. Yeah, yeah, Indiana, Michigan.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I like, I would prefer that we had a region
- 9:41Speaker 2: called the Middle East. He's not the Midwest.
- 9:44Speaker 1: The Ohio River Valley was like, was that even mean
- 9:47Speaker 1: the Middle East?
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:49Speaker 1: That's a good his that's good.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Think about it. The Arch in Saint Louis, what is
- 9:56Speaker 2: that referred to as the gateway to the West, right,
- 10:00Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. Yeah, if you're on the left side,
- 10:04Speaker 2: the west side, yeah, you're part of the Midwest. If
- 10:06Speaker 2: you're on the right side, you're part of the mid East,
- 10:08Speaker 2: the Middle East. Yeah, they would be. They would be.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And then what's like, what's Nebraska called like that stretch
- 10:16Speaker 1: they're they're what the the Midwest? The great Heartland? Yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 1: the Midwest, they're like considered. I want to say, Nebraska's
- 10:25Speaker 1: considered in the Midwest. Yeah, but doesn't that make sense?
- 10:28Speaker 1: That makes sense in my brand.
- 10:29Speaker 4: You get called Midwest from Pittsburgh and nobody likes it.
- 10:31Speaker 4: We call ourselves mid East to back you up because
- 10:34Speaker 4: everyone says Pittsburgh's in the Midwest, that makes no sense.
- 10:37Speaker 1: In the Middle East, that does make zero sense. Everything, Yeah,
- 10:41Speaker 1: everything going on again in the Middle East.
- 10:46Speaker 2: That's our opinion. If you're looking for Middle East talk,
- 10:49Speaker 2: you're at the right podcast.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You've come to the right podcast. Hey, but I love that.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So we have Zach, we have Courtney sitting in a
- 10:59Speaker 2: tree KISSI n G. Maybe maybe maybe maybe, And Indiana
- 11:05Speaker 2: Michigan touch.
- 11:06Speaker 3: There's a lot of universities in Michigan if he's looking
- 11:09Speaker 3: to be a tennis coach at one of those.
- 11:11Speaker 2: She's got a house. He does have his own apartment.
- 11:15Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I personally would love to see this, would love to
- 11:22Speaker 1: see this for the dad's Papa Team six community bro.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Even if they went on one day, just one day,
- 11:28Speaker 2: even if they're not into yeah, yeah, yeah, and we
- 11:31Speaker 2: gotta pick you imagine.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, us being idiots on a microphone talking about our
- 11:38Speaker 3: own kids led to a human being named Zachary Edwards
- 11:42Speaker 3: and another human being named Courtney Strong to meet each
- 11:46Speaker 3: other and share a meal.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Yeah. That's a wild thought, based on people gravitating towards
- 11:52Speaker 2: the show, based on the fun We have wanted to
- 11:54Speaker 2: be intentional fathers and husbands and all this, like you could.
- 11:58Speaker 2: The only thing I wouldn't want to happen is is
- 12:00Speaker 2: a pressure for it to words out zero you know
- 12:03Speaker 2: what I mean? Like they did go on a date, yes,
- 12:06Speaker 2: Like if Courtney happened to write and she's listening to
- 12:08Speaker 2: this right now, she writes in would love to grab coffee, Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 2: and then we could see where they goes. There's zero pressure.
- 12:15Speaker 2: But there would be zero pressure.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Yeah again, it would be all time because all I'm
- 12:20Speaker 1: thinking about is Taylor told the story where he met
- 12:25Speaker 1: He was playing a video game with somebody. Arc Please
- 12:29Speaker 1: tell this story. It is this wild story. This is
- 12:33Speaker 1: a wild story.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Met up. He was playing a game, a video game
- 12:37Speaker 2: on Xbox and was just in the online world of
- 12:40Speaker 2: arc and is rolling with this crew, this tribe of people.
- 12:44Speaker 2: They like allow somebody else in, right, do you know
- 12:47Speaker 2: this story? They allow somebody else in. Again, they don't
- 12:50Speaker 2: know them specifically, or was it somebody in Canada? They
- 12:52Speaker 2: know he knows. So he would play with his wife
- 12:55Speaker 2: and his wife's friend and they were a threesome.
- 12:57Speaker 1: But you can roll in a squad of.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Four and yeah video yep, they come across that he
- 13:03Speaker 2: was an ausie or like from New Zealand. He was something.
- 13:07Speaker 2: He was something.
- 13:07Speaker 1: He was leveled up to where he could potentially join
- 13:11Speaker 1: the squad.
- 13:11Speaker 2: He was prime in the video game of like, Oh,
- 13:15Speaker 2: this guy wants to link up with us, let him
- 13:17Speaker 2: into the squad.
- 13:18Speaker 1: This guy's a killer.
- 13:20Speaker 3: And through them playing this video game, the wife's friend,
- 13:24Speaker 3: Taylan's friend and this guy fell in love and they
- 13:27Speaker 3: now live together in Canada. Yeah, married and married through
- 13:32Speaker 3: through that video game.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I swear to you. It's apparently a beast at the game.
- 13:39Speaker 2: But they got connected, they got linked up, and now
- 13:41Speaker 2: they're married. I think they're married. I think I think
- 13:45Speaker 2: that's right because they're living. No matter what I do,
- 13:47Speaker 2: I know that they were last I heard, like when
- 13:49Speaker 2: this story came about, they were living together.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah, love can come in a multitude away. Love can
- 13:54Speaker 1: come in a multitude aways.
- 13:55Speaker 3: That's why when Courtney wrote in, initially I was like, Hey,
- 13:59Speaker 3: I don't really have game to put you on, because
- 14:01Speaker 3: love can come.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And be so many different ways. Some more Dad brain
- 14:05Speaker 2: to talk about from last week's episode. For those who
- 14:07Speaker 2: either didn't tune in you might be a first time listener.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I hope you're enjoying four the Dad so far. It's
- 14:11Speaker 2: so much enough that you do hit the follow and
- 14:12Speaker 2: subscribe button on all the channels and engage with this
- 14:15Speaker 2: on all social media and leave comments and have fun.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But last week, one.
- 14:20Speaker 2: That got a lot of traction was pt fit. Yes,
- 14:23Speaker 2: pet Fit got a lot of traction. I have a
- 14:27Speaker 2: story after I tell this one from Mason Gill pt Fit.
- 14:29Speaker 2: One thing that's helped motivate me to get my body
- 14:31Speaker 2: right was when I heard someone say it's easy to
- 14:33Speaker 2: say you'll die for your family, but would you live
- 14:35Speaker 2: for them? Sure, it's easy to say I die for them,
- 14:38Speaker 2: But am I willing to take care of myself so
- 14:39Speaker 2: that I can live for them? Eat?
- 14:41Speaker 1: Right?
- 14:41Speaker 2: So I can have the energy for them, workout so
- 14:43Speaker 2: that I can keep up with them. Love you boys,
- 14:46Speaker 2: Let's be the best us we can be for our families.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Hashtag good, hashtag pt fit. That is phenomenal Mason gill
- 14:53Speaker 2: in a great point. I love that. I love that.
- 14:57Speaker 3: It reminds me of the saying instead of something costs
- 15:01Speaker 3: a lot, it's worth a lot, like telling yourself it's
- 15:04Speaker 3: actually worth a lot. It doesn't cost a lot, like
- 15:07Speaker 3: the cost of getting up early and and you know,
- 15:10Speaker 3: working out and stuff.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And one of the deep's favorite favorite census we don't
- 15:14Speaker 2: have to get we get to Yeah. I love that
- 15:17Speaker 2: that flip right there too.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yes, it's good, right, Yeah, I would die for my
- 15:22Speaker 1: favorite Would you live for them?
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah? Dude? And pt fit is I mean, we've already
- 15:27Speaker 2: touched on this, but like now that I'm I'm back,
- 15:31Speaker 2: I'm on muscle relaxers, I'm feeling great. You know that
- 15:37Speaker 2: Shurm's good. He's not sitting like a psychopath anymore. But
- 15:42Speaker 2: it's how since here you weren't explaining it. You're like,
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm back on supplements, I'm back on the hell Like
- 15:48Speaker 2: everything's all good. I'm back on I'm beat the fit.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I got the muscle relax. I'm working out them.
- 15:57Speaker 3: No, but it was a good reminder of like, man,
- 16:00Speaker 3: it feels really great to get out of bed and
- 16:02Speaker 3: not have tightness and pain and YadA YadA, and having
- 16:08Speaker 3: some conversations with with Jill about my health and the
- 16:13Speaker 3: direction that I should be heading towards. So I think
- 16:18Speaker 3: it's signed. I think it's signed to be pet fit.
- 16:20Speaker 2: It is time, bro. Yeah, and I'll say this, You're
- 16:23Speaker 2: not alone. I went and got a little check in
- 16:25Speaker 2: the other day. Did the DEXA scan. Body fat percentages
- 16:29Speaker 2: up to twenty seven? Yeah, over six it It just
- 16:32Speaker 2: sits in my brain over six hundred and forty grams
- 16:34Speaker 2: of visceral fat.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah, got off the wagon over the last few months.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Ain't lyon? Yeah, I running from that. You want to
- 16:42Speaker 2: know what's crazy? Blood pressures high, cholesterol's high, Like yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And I'm sitting there talking as I'm getting checked in.
- 16:54Speaker 2: This nurse is given taking my blood pressure, doing all
- 16:57Speaker 2: this stuff for like my vitals, uh huh, and We're
- 17:00Speaker 2: I'm just having this conversation. She's like, No, how's your
- 17:02Speaker 2: fitness been over the last since you last been in
- 17:04Speaker 2: last time? I was in was in July. I was like,
- 17:07Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie to you. I haven't really done
- 17:09Speaker 2: shit in the last few months. It's kind of been
- 17:11Speaker 2: my worst run that I've had, like post football career,
- 17:14Speaker 2: of not doing stuff for like the last three or
- 17:17Speaker 2: four months because it's just been such a whirlwind. That's
- 17:19Speaker 2: the excuse and justification. I tell myself.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yah.
- 17:22Speaker 2: And she's sitting there when she gets done, she's like, oh,
- 17:24Speaker 2: by the way, I'm a fan of your I'm a
- 17:26Speaker 2: fan of your show. And I'm thinking, you know, busting. Yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh, you watch a busting She's like, no,
- 17:33Speaker 2: I'm an MT sixer, and I was like, no shit.
- 17:38Speaker 1: We shared a laugh.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I was like, yeah. I sit back and ten seconds
- 17:41Speaker 2: go by and I'm like, so wait a minute. You
- 17:44Speaker 2: if you listened, you already know I haven't been doing
- 17:48Speaker 2: a whole lot because I've expressed it on the pod before.
- 17:52Speaker 2: So if I live, were you gonna call me on it?
- 17:54Speaker 2: She's like, oh, you know, I just take a conversation.
- 17:57Speaker 2: She's been trying to get her husband more on it.
- 17:59Speaker 2: She's an empt six She's an empty sicco. She's a
- 18:01Speaker 2: pet sico more than her husband. Really, her husband's into it.
- 18:04Speaker 2: She's like, I was showing them. She's like, I listened
- 18:06Speaker 2: to the pt fit one, yeah, yeah, and this was
- 18:10Speaker 2: I went in on When did I go in? Do
- 18:13Speaker 2: you guys remember last week? Because we recorded on Tuesday.
- 18:15Speaker 2: I think I went in on Wednesday, so she had
- 18:17Speaker 2: already listened. Yeah, within the first twenty four hours. But
- 18:20Speaker 2: she was like, I was showing my husband, who's like
- 18:21Speaker 2: a performance coach or a fitness coach or like has
- 18:25Speaker 2: a gym or something, and I was showing him and
- 18:28Speaker 2: he was kind of they were just talking shop on
- 18:30Speaker 2: him potentially giving us plans whatever it is. I feel
- 18:33Speaker 2: like people have been reaching out about wanting to be
- 18:35Speaker 2: involved in the pt fit yeah community.
- 18:38Speaker 1: They reached out heavy to Derek on the for the
- 18:41Speaker 1: Dad's page, have.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah the So even before we had that episode on
- 18:45Speaker 4: the Reddit, people were tossing in saying hey, I need
- 18:48Speaker 4: to count of bilbudies and putting their workout plans on
- 18:50Speaker 4: the reddit page. So there's a discussion there that's all
- 18:52Speaker 4: YouTube and Spotify comments right now are pt fit and
- 18:55Speaker 4: people in that same mindset of like, hey, we gotta,
- 18:57Speaker 4: we gotta, we got we got a little dad pandemic
- 19:00Speaker 4: going on a couple guts and stuff, and every data
- 19:02Speaker 4: there is like, hey, we can do this together. And
- 19:04Speaker 4: it's kind of been this rolling ball of PT fit.
- 19:07Speaker 4: You know, PT Thickoh to PT Fiddo is coming around, so.
- 19:11Speaker 2: PT Thicho to PT Fiddo. It is one of those
- 19:13Speaker 2: things too, like obviously we have fun, we joke and
- 19:18Speaker 2: serious about PT feel like you know all this stuff.
- 19:22Speaker 2: It is interesting like when the four months, because it's
- 19:25Speaker 2: been about four months that I haven't really done a
- 19:27Speaker 2: whole lot, how fast it just goes. You feel like
- 19:30Speaker 2: you're just in this snowball of momentum, of the monotony
- 19:33Speaker 2: of every day when your career, chasing your ambition, stuff
- 19:36Speaker 2: going on at home, stressors going on in your life. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 2: and you you know, we've talked about it at length
- 19:41Speaker 2: on this pod about like taking care of yourself, like
- 19:43Speaker 2: what buckets are you fillling up, waking up early, get
- 19:45Speaker 2: in that bucket if you have to, And it's it's
- 19:49Speaker 2: just interesting how quickly things go. And then you know,
- 19:52Speaker 2: you get that bod all the stuff that happens, and
- 19:55Speaker 2: you just feel like you're in it, like it's your identity.
- 19:57Speaker 2: So you kind of just stick with it or you
- 19:59Speaker 2: kind of just stay too, because like it would suck
- 20:01Speaker 2: to start over, it would suck to start from scratch.
- 20:04Speaker 5: I know.
- 20:04Speaker 2: That's something that goes on in my brain. It's like, fuck,
- 20:06Speaker 2: I'm here doing this again, like starting over. You feel
- 20:08Speaker 2: like you're starting over from scratch. Yeah, yeah, versus a
- 20:11Speaker 2: mindset of like no, I'm just I'm restarting from experience,
- 20:14Speaker 2: like I've had a bad you know, I've just had
- 20:15Speaker 2: a bad run.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Doesn't mean I can't just switch like that.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Because of the importance of Mason writing in talking about
- 20:22Speaker 2: you would die for them, but where you live for them,
- 20:24Speaker 2: It's almost like you're thinking about it in terms of
- 20:26Speaker 2: which is spot on, like playing with your kids, like
- 20:29Speaker 2: being healthy for them, showing them what a healthy lifestyle
- 20:32Speaker 2: looks like, because we always want to feed our kids
- 20:34Speaker 2: well and we want to talk to them about nutrition
- 20:36Speaker 2: and how hey, eat your veggies. It's good for your brain,
- 20:39Speaker 2: eat your protein. It's good for your muscles. This will
- 20:41Speaker 2: make you run faster, jump higher, Yeah, this will be
- 20:44Speaker 2: be more creative. This helps you draw better. Carrots help
- 20:46Speaker 2: you see better. Like you're doing all the things to
- 20:48Speaker 2: educate them while I'm sitting there snacking away on the
- 20:51Speaker 2: side of making sure Rue eats the right meal, and
- 20:53Speaker 2: it's like, you want to show and show the example
- 20:57Speaker 2: of what healthy living looks like and what hard work
- 21:00Speaker 2: looks like like, even when it is hard and it
- 21:02Speaker 2: is stressful and you are kind of beat down mentally
- 21:04Speaker 2: and you've just gotten in this bad momentum, You've gained
- 21:07Speaker 2: a lot of bad momentum and you're kind of just
- 21:09Speaker 2: stuck in it. It's like, dude, you can show them
- 21:11Speaker 2: what it's like to just restart today tomorrow you wanted
- 21:15Speaker 2: to be today or yesterday, to where you're like, you
- 21:18Speaker 2: now have a story when they're in a rut at
- 21:21Speaker 2: some point in time, you're pulling from your own experience.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And it's like.
- 21:26Speaker 1: This might sound I know we were talking about stuff
- 21:28Speaker 1: being a comment being intense before, but even just the
- 21:31Speaker 1: protection of being with your kids and being with it, yeah, yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and being with it enough to like if you ever
- 21:39Speaker 1: do get in a situation to feel like you can
- 21:41Speaker 1: protect them. It as funny as it like you read
- 21:45Speaker 1: that comment before, I really did.
- 21:47Speaker 3: When my back was locked up, I did have the
- 21:51Speaker 3: thought of just watching a movie on Netflix where a
- 21:54Speaker 3: guy's scrapping, and I'm like, I would go down in
- 21:57Speaker 3: five seconds with my back locked up.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I would I would.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Literally just be on the ground going water water like
- 22:06Speaker 1: like I couldn't do anything.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Yeah, like and to your point, you could not have
- 22:11Speaker 3: hit closer to home on what my internal thoughts have
- 22:15Speaker 3: been with feeding Scarlet. She has just started solid, so
- 22:19Speaker 3: it's like, you know, she's having an apple with avocado. Yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 3: like you know this little berry mixed pouch thing, like
- 22:30Speaker 3: we try to have like two or three options for
- 22:31Speaker 3: when we're doing solids now. And then Dad got the
- 22:35Speaker 3: seven piece tender meal because he didn't eat lunch, but
- 22:41Speaker 3: he didn't eat like he works and Dad has his
- 22:44Speaker 3: hungry so it'sd the three piece. They went with the
- 22:46Speaker 3: seven piece and made the mashed potatoes just a little bit.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Let's make that a large because that sounds good. And
- 22:54Speaker 3: then I'm watching Scarlet leftovers it leftovers. I'm watching Scarlet
- 22:58Speaker 3: eat her food, and I'm like, I don't want her
- 23:01Speaker 3: sitting and eating like a seven piece tender meal.
- 23:04Speaker 1: D Like, I don't want that for her, and like
- 23:07Speaker 1: I see it with with ru Causcotti's still young, so
- 23:10Speaker 1: I'm not like, I'm not saying that this happens.
- 23:12Speaker 2: But there's a part of me that feels like I'll
- 23:14Speaker 2: come home and if I work through my lunch or
- 23:18Speaker 2: I don't eat throughout the afternoon, and I get home
- 23:20Speaker 2: and I start snacking before dinner. Ruth sees me stack
- 23:23Speaker 2: and she'll come up and be like, Daddy, can I
- 23:24Speaker 2: have a snack? Like, yeah, you know, you can have
- 23:27Speaker 2: you can have a banana, you can have you can
- 23:29Speaker 2: have one snack. She'll eat the snack, but I'm over
- 23:31Speaker 2: there still eating and snacking. She said, Daddy, can I
- 23:33Speaker 2: have another snack? And I'm just thinking, like she's seeing
- 23:36Speaker 2: me do it, how like I'm going to And I
- 23:39Speaker 2: do tell her no, and I tell her why, And
- 23:41Speaker 2: then when I'm thinking about it, I'm like, dude, she's
- 23:43Speaker 2: watching me do it. Yes. So it's not like she's
- 23:46Speaker 2: just like I'm just gonna snack all the way up
- 23:48Speaker 2: until dinner. I know, Dad keeps telling me like we
- 23:50Speaker 2: gotta wait till dinner. I mean, she might not be
- 23:52Speaker 2: noted in in her brain, but her brain could be
- 23:53Speaker 2: telling her. I mean this, I'm watching dad do it.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I'm watching Dad snack.
- 23:57Speaker 3: It is very much a monkey see monkey, dude, yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 3: I don't have too much experience in that, but like
- 24:04Speaker 3: just through volunteering and like being a counselor at camps
- 24:07Speaker 3: and stuff. Like the young kids want to mimic any
- 24:11Speaker 3: type of behaviors, like any type of they look up
- 24:14Speaker 3: to these athletes, and I want to be a soccer
- 24:16Speaker 3: player just like this favorite soccer player. I want to
- 24:19Speaker 3: be something just like this. Yeah, and there's no bigger
- 24:22Speaker 3: superhero than your mom or dad. And so you know,
- 24:25Speaker 3: I went Scarlett to.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Like aspire for some kind of health of like, hey,
- 24:30Speaker 2: my dad takes care of himself. I need to.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I need to desperately, And now does my dad take
- 24:36Speaker 1: care of himself?
- 24:36Speaker 2: And that's admirable for as they grow up and think
- 24:38Speaker 2: about it and think, like, you know, my parents, My
- 24:41Speaker 2: parents took care of themselves. They showed me what it
- 24:43Speaker 2: looked like. And not only that, but that's probably will
- 24:46Speaker 2: be what they look for in their partner. Yes, also
- 24:49Speaker 2: that that is a very good point. I want to
- 24:52Speaker 2: add real quick. I was in will like you. I
- 24:55Speaker 2: was in a three year rut and I'm a littlehead.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I pulled out of it in January. I've been going
- 24:59Speaker 2: like three months really strong. The biggest thing on top
- 25:02Speaker 2: of just like physical health is like the mental benefits
- 25:05Speaker 2: to exercise is something that I have personally noticed, like
- 25:09Speaker 2: have been the biggest game changer over any kind of
- 25:11Speaker 2: physical And so I have three years like post college
- 25:15Speaker 2: where I just was like, you don't have a coach
- 25:16Speaker 2: telling you to run or sports doesn't keep you going.
- 25:19Speaker 2: It's yeah, it's so easy.
- 25:20Speaker 6: To fall out of and then finally you know enough,
- 25:23Speaker 6: hit enough, and you know once you get back into
- 25:26Speaker 6: It's like nowadays, when I drive home, I'm really pumped
- 25:29Speaker 6: because I know I'm gonna go hit the gym.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I know I'm gonna sweat my ass off.
- 25:32Speaker 6: And if it's like a rough day or something like,
- 25:35Speaker 6: it's so insane how mentally clearing being physical is, and
- 25:39Speaker 6: you forget about it because you get in that bad
- 25:41Speaker 6: habit state and it's like you just totally forget all
- 25:45Speaker 6: the good times that you have working out where you go,
- 25:47Speaker 6: oh my god, I can never like when you're in it,
- 25:48Speaker 6: you're like, I can't see myself not doing this because
- 25:51Speaker 6: it's so beneficial and it's so weird when you get
- 25:54Speaker 6: sucked out of it, and all it takes is just
- 25:56Speaker 6: a little bit of momentum to get back in. You go,
- 25:59Speaker 6: why the what the fuck was I doing for three years? Like,
- 26:01Speaker 6: why was I not doing this every single day?
- 26:04Speaker 2: Crazy?
- 26:04Speaker 3: To see there's no better dopamine drop than getting the
- 26:07Speaker 3: endorphins going. No, like truly, like it is kind of weird,
- 26:11Speaker 3: Like it does suck once you're getting started, but once
- 26:14Speaker 3: you're able to get into that phase, Dude, I fully
- 26:18Speaker 3: agree with you there, Chef.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I know with one of our one of our partners
- 26:23Speaker 2: in the bust and universes is Form Energy. So first Form, Oh,
- 26:27Speaker 2: you've always been massive fans of them, but for sella
- 26:30Speaker 2: Start had this thing that went crazy for a long
- 26:33Speaker 2: period of time. It's obviously still out there, but it's
- 26:34Speaker 2: called seventy five hard. But just knowing that Form is
- 26:37Speaker 2: a partner in our universe seventy five, our heart is
- 26:40Speaker 2: out there. Pt fit something there. There's gotta be something
- 26:44Speaker 2: there or is anybody out there that's that's vibing with
- 26:48Speaker 2: anything that st six or Chef is talking about myself
- 26:51Speaker 2: and sure them like anything that's like marinane and it's like, yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 2: I feel these things too. I love the community aspect
- 26:58Speaker 2: because my wife was even bringing up too, she's like,
- 27:00Speaker 2: you know, one thing I do think that you would
- 27:02Speaker 2: benefit from, which I know you've like stayed away from
- 27:04Speaker 2: because of injuries, and you need like specific type of training,
- 27:07Speaker 2: but just being around, whether it's unaccountabil buddy or just
- 27:11Speaker 2: a group of guys again, because a lot of it,
- 27:13Speaker 2: a lot of my training would be around the team,
- 27:15Speaker 2: around guys, around people that are there to help you
- 27:19Speaker 2: subconsciously be accountable. Well.
- 27:21Speaker 3: And your dad getting super fit and dropping a ton
- 27:28Speaker 3: of weight, my dad very similar thing. He had to
- 27:32Speaker 3: get back surgery that spinal fusion m H. And I
- 27:37Speaker 3: mean he wasn't like super out of shape, but definitely
- 27:40Speaker 3: could stand to like lose some weight. And for like
- 27:43Speaker 3: the last ten years he has been so healthy, dude,
- 27:46Speaker 3: And it does make me feel better of like Scarlet's
- 27:50Speaker 3: gonna have, you know, but like Scarlett's gonna have for
- 27:53Speaker 3: granddad and he's healthy and he's like there is so
- 27:57Speaker 3: much like excitement that comes out. I'm like, I'm so glad,
- 28:01Speaker 3: and I'm like really proud of my dad for him
- 28:03Speaker 3: taking care of himself and like dieting, exercising, getting out
- 28:07Speaker 3: and like.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Dude, that's a great point. Like even us we were
- 28:11Speaker 1: the kiddos.
- 28:11Speaker 2: We feel like, you know, if our dad's had a pod,
- 28:13Speaker 2: we were the kids that they were talking about raising.
- 28:15Speaker 2: We've grown up and we think about it with our
- 28:18Speaker 2: parents for their grandkids. Dude, like that's what we want
- 28:22Speaker 2: from our grandparents. Yes, and every older person that is healthier,
- 28:27Speaker 2: that is taking care of their body and say it
- 28:28Speaker 2: was over the last decade, it's like what they would do.
- 28:32Speaker 2: The analogy would be the one where it's like they
- 28:34Speaker 2: would grab you by the throat, holding you against the
- 28:36Speaker 2: wall and be like, the one thing I wish I
- 28:39Speaker 2: would have done is doing it sooner, Like do it
- 28:42Speaker 2: now when you are young.
- 28:43Speaker 1: You don't want these problems.
- 28:44Speaker 2: You don't want to have to get to a point
- 28:45Speaker 2: to where you're now having to fix the entire operation
- 28:48Speaker 2: to get a few more years out of life. Like
- 28:51Speaker 2: I wish I would have been doing this when I
- 28:53Speaker 2: was young.
- 28:55Speaker 1: That's it back. I'm like, I'm thirty six. I know
- 28:56Speaker 1: I'm young.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I know I feel old at times, and I'm like,
- 28:59Speaker 2: no matter what I know, o'clock's ticken, Yeah, but you
- 29:01Speaker 2: can't hear the ticken, No, you can't.
- 29:03Speaker 3: And it was very humbling, like I had a huge
- 29:06Speaker 3: win where I used to vape like crazy. Do you
- 29:09Speaker 3: remember when I was contracting? Yeah, And I would hit
- 29:13Speaker 3: that vape like insane, dude, you were a vapor insane.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Jilly Bean would tell you that that is like the
- 29:20Speaker 3: biggest win that we've gotten of me, dude, disgusting amount.
- 29:26Speaker 3: I was a vape god, and not because I loved
- 29:30Speaker 3: blowing fat clouds, but I purely would like that was
- 29:33Speaker 3: my knickstick.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Dude.
- 29:34Speaker 3: I was just and like walking upstairs would get me wheezing,
- 29:41Speaker 3: like it was bad, dude.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And so I was at the doctor last week.
- 29:44Speaker 3: I went after we record that episode where I set
- 29:47Speaker 3: the entire time like this to be comfortable, and she
- 29:50Speaker 3: was like, uh, do.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You smoke a vapor? You know, tobacco? And I said, no,
- 29:55Speaker 1: I do not. And I was very proud of that.
- 29:58Speaker 1: But it's been like several years. And and she was
- 30:00Speaker 1: like height, I was like five eight.
- 30:04Speaker 2: She was like wait, it was like two twenty, two
- 30:11Speaker 2: hundred and twenty pounds, And I'm thinking to myself five
- 30:14Speaker 2: a two twenty dude, what are we doing like it?
- 30:18Speaker 1: Man?
- 30:19Speaker 5: Ugh?
- 30:19Speaker 1: So I am very much like this feels good.
- 30:22Speaker 2: It's important, man, It's supported for family, it's important. For career,
- 30:25Speaker 2: it's important for yourself. Yeah, I have one last thing
- 30:29Speaker 2: and then I'll show them.
- 30:30Speaker 6: But when I started back at it, I had three
- 30:33Speaker 6: things that I did that like because I've tried a
- 30:35Speaker 6: lot of times where you try and then maybe you
- 30:37Speaker 6: get like a weak momentum, but then you stop. The
- 30:40Speaker 6: three things I did was like, there was a quote
- 30:42Speaker 6: that I love that when you're when you climb a mountain,
- 30:45Speaker 6: never look at the peak. You always look down at
- 30:47Speaker 6: your feet and keep walking. That's something that like a
- 30:49Speaker 6: mental thing. And the other big one was like every
- 30:52Speaker 6: day when you're done.
- 30:52Speaker 1: You just go.
- 30:53Speaker 6: I tell myself, like, that's a chip you just chipped away,
- 30:56Speaker 6: and so you just chip and chip and chip. And
- 30:58Speaker 6: then the other thing, which sounds counterintuitive, was it's nothing special.
- 31:02Speaker 6: I'm just doing what I should be doing. My parents
- 31:05Speaker 6: like I'll live with home. They're like we start proud,
- 31:07Speaker 6: and I'm like, I appreciate it, but like it's like
- 31:10Speaker 6: as soon as I feel that where I'm like, you
- 31:13Speaker 6: start getting I guess relaxed, where you're like, hey, this
- 31:16Speaker 6: is what I should be doing. It's nothing that special.
- 31:19Speaker 6: That's what I tell myself. I don't know if that's
- 31:22Speaker 6: helpful to anyone. But that's something that I've been as
- 31:24Speaker 6: I've been going through this. Three things that I just
- 31:27Speaker 6: love are like those little like it's just for your health,
- 31:30Speaker 6: it's what you should be doing. What I try to
- 31:32Speaker 6: tell myself, it's been good.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Dan Gables, dude, Chef Gable, I how did how do
- 31:42Speaker 1: you eat an elephant?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Does anyone know how you eat an elephant? That's a
- 31:47Speaker 2: great answer.
- 31:48Speaker 1: One bite at a time, many at a time, one
- 31:50Speaker 1: bite at a time. I want to hear for Jesse
- 31:53Speaker 1: on Spotify.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Jimmy, this is pretending to last week's episode Jimmy v
- 31:57Speaker 2: Soode boys had all the emotions and it pt fit
- 32:01Speaker 2: for life. We have to be healthy and stay around
- 32:03Speaker 2: for the little monsters. Amen, Jesse, let's go. I mean,
- 32:06Speaker 2: that's an Jesse I have. Zach Aber or Hebrew.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Zach wrote in this is a fun one. The trifecta
- 32:17Speaker 3: hit this PT sixer last night. All three kids have fevers,
- 32:21Speaker 3: body aches, and congestion. Mom has an important presentation to
- 32:26Speaker 3: present at the hospital today for work.
- 32:29Speaker 2: So you know what that means.
- 32:30Speaker 3: This PT six veteran is tapping in dads don't get
- 32:36Speaker 3: sick all caps like like my former college coach Pete
- 32:41Speaker 3: Pete Carroll would say, mind over matter. If you think
- 32:44Speaker 3: you're healthy, you're healthy, stay positive and embrace the suck.
- 32:49Speaker 3: This too shall pass. Love what you guys are preaching here,
- 32:53Speaker 3: and keep up the good work.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Fight on. And then his wife Caitlin.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Then commented underneath and said, and he had a crock
- 33:02Speaker 3: pot dinner ready when the wife he got home, and
- 33:07Speaker 3: then she wrote shockwave. Oh that is our first Anti
- 33:15Speaker 3: six confirmation of shockwave.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Shockwave and Zach played for USC.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just kind of flying under the Yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 2: that was like just kind of like fight on my
- 33:26Speaker 2: old former my former.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Head ball coach, Pete Carroll.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Carrol, you know he always used to say this, okay, Zach, Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 2: that's sick.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I want to dock wave. I wondered the National Championship
- 33:38Speaker 1: ring on. Yeah for real, hold on honey, Hey, hold
- 33:46Speaker 1: on honey. And it's just this like old wooden box
- 33:49Speaker 1: that you just in the rings sitting right there, just
- 33:54Speaker 1: slides onto the middle finger. I got another one from
- 34:00Speaker 1: Dalton Lobby eleven eighty four on YouTube. Boys, my dad
- 34:04Speaker 1: came down and once to make a father son trip
- 34:07Speaker 1: before my wedding in June we both lit. Uh, we
- 34:11Speaker 1: both love the Braves. And so we're going to Atlanta
- 34:15Speaker 1: for Opening Day this year.
- 34:16Speaker 2: That's so fun.
- 34:17Speaker 3: We will be traveling through Nashville and I need one
- 34:20Speaker 3: recommendation for somewhere to eat dinner. I have no idea
- 34:24Speaker 3: where to even start. But if you could only choose
- 34:27Speaker 3: one place to eat in Nashville, what would it be?
- 34:31Speaker 2: Oh, he doesn't know, Lord forgiven, poor Dalton, Dalton. This
- 34:41Speaker 2: is a fantastic question, though, I don't want you to
- 34:43Speaker 2: beat yourself.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Let's all give him one recommendation, and I would say, like,
- 34:47Speaker 4: I don't know what kind of food they like, and
- 34:49Speaker 4: so if will pick something with steak, we'll pick something
- 34:51Speaker 4: different and try to help them out.
- 34:53Speaker 2: That's what you're going to beat. A steakhouse.
- 34:55Speaker 4: You don't have to go.
- 34:56Speaker 2: You don't have to go steak. I mean you don't
- 34:58Speaker 2: have to, oh recommendation. Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 4: I don't want you to feel pigeonholed by my example.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Dude, I have to go, do you have to go?
- 35:05Speaker 2: Here's here's what I'm saying. Here, here's what I'm gonna
- 35:08Speaker 2: go with. C keep it clean, keep it right. Yeah,
- 35:12Speaker 2: your coffee shop in the morning has to be Eighth
- 35:14Speaker 2: and Roast. Ooh, okay, your coffee shop has to be
- 35:18Speaker 2: Eighth and Roast. Okay, so I get to kind of
- 35:21Speaker 2: low key bow out you do of the restaurant business, however,
- 35:25Speaker 2: I do. If you want a spot in the early
- 35:28Speaker 2: half of the day, the front half of the day,
- 35:30Speaker 2: you want a coffee, you want to go to a
- 35:31Speaker 2: great local spot that reps Nashville, it's Eighth and Roast.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Come on, no free shout outs, there's I have zero
- 35:40Speaker 2: ties to anything Eighth and Roast. I should own a
- 35:42Speaker 2: piece of their company. Yeah, because I do love it.
- 35:44Speaker 2: My kids have basically been raising Eighth and Roast. But
- 35:46Speaker 2: we just we love Eighth and Rose. And you do
- 35:48Speaker 2: give a lot of not free shout outs. Yes, yes,
- 35:51Speaker 2: they are loved by this podcast. Yes okay, I so uh.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Who who's our electrician guide that we just absolutely love
- 36:00Speaker 3: that comes in here and he's always talking to us.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Robbie. Robbie.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Robbie put me on game. Shout out Robbie. By the way,
- 36:07Speaker 3: I haven't seen him in a minute.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I love Robbie.
- 36:10Speaker 3: He put me on game because my anniversary was coming up.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I was looking for places to eat. He overheard the conversation,
- 36:17Speaker 3: butted in with the best answer. It's called Jimmy Kelly's.
- 36:21Speaker 3: It's a steakhouse here in Nashville, and it is the
- 36:23Speaker 3: oldest steakhouse in Nashville.
- 36:25Speaker 2: It's the og.
- 36:26Speaker 3: It is a literal house with like a little extension
- 36:30Speaker 3: restaurant kind of built off of it. Food is incredible.
- 36:34Speaker 3: There's a ton of lore behind the location of uh It's.
- 36:39Speaker 3: It's the spot that when artists signed their first contract
- 36:43Speaker 3: in Nashville, like their first record deal, you go celebrated.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Jimmy Kelly's. It is pricey, I will say it like
- 36:52Speaker 3: it is steakhouse prices. But you can go in there
- 36:55Speaker 3: and not feel like you just got you know, stabbed
- 36:58Speaker 3: and robbed like you can.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you can got shock wave.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Jimmy.
- 37:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but you can go in there strategically and get
- 37:08Speaker 1: a really good dinner.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Dude.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Jimmy Kelly's rips, no free shout outs. Pinewood Social great spot. Okay,
- 37:18Speaker 3: what little bowling alley in the back? Yeah, Pinewood Social
- 37:21Speaker 3: is just a good spot.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Really.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good it's a good Yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 2: They have good food.
- 37:28Speaker 1: What type of food menu changes?
- 37:31Speaker 4: They got a very good steak salad like a tremendous
- 37:34Speaker 4: I recommend steak salad that wouldn't have But there are
- 37:36Speaker 4: many changes, but they do a really good job. They
- 37:38Speaker 4: have a chrem of coffee in the front, a bochy
- 37:40Speaker 4: court outside, a pool.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Yeah stuff outside, not to like like it's a it's
- 37:46Speaker 2: a popular spot, but not where it's you're just cramped
- 37:49Speaker 2: in there.
- 37:50Speaker 4: This very this looks sick. I used to live above that.
- 37:54Speaker 4: We'd go there all the time.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Very cool.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Oh, that's amazing, that's amazing. Anytime people visit.
- 37:58Speaker 2: It's always if I give a Pinewood Social is always
- 38:01Speaker 2: on there because you people love it for brunch, especially
- 38:03Speaker 2: if the sun's out you go out there, but even
- 38:05Speaker 2: at nighttime, like they have good dinner, they have good food,
- 38:07Speaker 2: it's good vibes. They have a lot of space, have
- 38:09Speaker 2: a pool, am I I did not know that.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Yeah, so if you go out there's that botchi court there,
- 38:15Speaker 4: it's all like ivy. They have a swimming pool in
- 38:17Speaker 4: there that you could rent or like. They have passes
- 38:20Speaker 4: you can use.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I didn't use it.
- 38:21Speaker 4: My apartment boat and had one, but I would take
- 38:22Speaker 4: my dog and a walk around Pine with Social every day. Yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 4: and so he would barking at the people of the pool,
- 38:27Speaker 4: which is a single Yeah, So what would be your recommendation?
- 38:32Speaker 4: So him and his dad, Like I I have like
- 38:34Speaker 4: four or five restaurants that I'm like, you have to
- 38:36Speaker 4: go to these if it's you and your dad traveling
- 38:38Speaker 4: through no free shout outs. The number one place I
- 38:41Speaker 4: would recommend is Smith and Lentz Pizza. It is in
- 38:43Speaker 4: East Nashville. It is the number one pizza I've ever
- 38:45Speaker 4: had in the world. Take it to prom They are
- 38:48Speaker 4: a brewery that does pilsners and loggers primarily. No, they
- 38:51Speaker 4: have fears called pizza parties. Best pizza in the world.
- 38:54Speaker 2: That I have had. What was the name of it?
- 38:56Speaker 2: Smith and Lentz.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Okay, Smith and Lentz.
- 38:59Speaker 2: But that's ship on you good for it. I've never
- 39:02Speaker 2: heard you talk about Smith talking.
- 39:04Speaker 4: About Smith and Lenz because you talk about hometom pizzam
- 39:06Speaker 4: did you guys teck on Smith a lens it's a
- 39:07Speaker 4: brewery and East now.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but not not.
- 39:09Speaker 1: You haven't talked about in that capacity. If your if
- 39:12Speaker 1: in your brain is have you.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Ever said, Derek, hey, give me your number one?
- 39:15Speaker 6: No?
- 39:16Speaker 2: But what fun we've talked food?
- 39:18Speaker 4: What if I recommended to you. Name the things I've
- 39:21Speaker 4: recommended to you.
- 39:22Speaker 1: The Mexican spot Cafe de Sult No, no, no, no no.
- 39:26Speaker 2: What's that one? Call? Because Bryce Harper was talking about it. Yeah,
- 39:30Speaker 2: I mean, just bring it up. That's one where I'm
- 39:32Speaker 2: like my d like, I think to myself, I know,
- 39:36Speaker 2: that's my point.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Mys Day Levita has a food truck in East Nashville
- 39:40Speaker 4: attached to a tiki bar. That is the best truck
- 39:42Speaker 4: I've ever eaten out of the restaurant is unbelievable. James
- 39:46Speaker 4: Beard finalists on the Michelin List Love mys Day Levita.
- 39:48Speaker 4: If you want me to go, I'll go go to
- 39:50Speaker 4: Audrey Audrey and the restaurant sy Sean Brock and East Nashville.
- 39:53Speaker 4: That is unbelievable. He also opened Husk Husk is across
- 39:56Speaker 4: the street from Pinewood Social Lescus in the House that
- 39:58Speaker 4: is breathtaking. There's multiple locations if you're looking for different pizza.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Frankie's in East Nashville was out of Brooklyn. Mattie Mathison
- 40:04Speaker 4: helped open the spot. Here there pizza goes by the door.
- 40:07Speaker 4: They make the dough. Each day they run out of dough.
- 40:08Speaker 4: It's breath taking the restaurant really good and other pizzas.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Robertas attached to Urban Cowboy. Across from that is Lachland Table,
- 40:13Speaker 4: Lachland Table Fox as well. I can stop now.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I love you cooking, but this Derek.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I haven't gotten this version of Derek because club and
- 40:21Speaker 1: I have argued over pizza. Yeah, food on you missing Nashville,
- 40:25Speaker 1: But you haven't been the guy that got on the
- 40:26Speaker 1: box and just cooked.
- 40:27Speaker 4: To where there ain't nothing to say. Watch this man work.
- 40:30Speaker 4: He just shoved it down your throat. Yeah, I've listened
- 40:33Speaker 4: to your guys piece of takes. I've respected it. It's wrong,
- 40:36Speaker 4: but I've respected it. But you are so hometown of
- 40:38Speaker 4: nizza that I would never come into there and be like,
- 40:40Speaker 4: well you got to change it up.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Well, basically say no.
- 40:43Speaker 1: If you really loved me, I would have already known.
- 40:45Speaker 2: But he couldn't even remember my stale.
- 40:47Speaker 1: But I got it.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I know, I know.
- 40:49Speaker 1: I have an emotion if somebody says Mexican, Mexican spot
- 40:52Speaker 1: in Nashville, I know Dieke's got you.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I didn't know you had the bag. I got a bag?
- 40:56Speaker 2: Is he Trudy?
- 40:57Speaker 4: I know you do.
- 40:58Speaker 2: But now that i'm Hearria on that I'm saying bullshit
- 41:01Speaker 2: on you.
- 41:01Speaker 4: Shout out Lauri's Casino. We're doing a shout out shout
- 41:03Speaker 4: out Lai's Casino.
- 41:04Speaker 3: He pitched me two new spots that he didn't even
- 41:06Speaker 3: mention right now when we got coffee this morning.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Have you shoved this pizza down clumps throat?
- 41:11Speaker 4: Can I say something respectfully? Klump is a steakhouse guy.
- 41:14Speaker 4: I don't give them recommendations.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Fair. I don't because he's gonna.
- 41:19Speaker 4: Go well, you know the I could have head over
- 41:21Speaker 4: there ocasion cruss and I'm like, that's sick, bro. Like
- 41:24Speaker 4: some of us want to eat different things. So I
- 41:26Speaker 4: don't give steakhouse guys recommendations. I'll give it to you
- 41:29Speaker 4: Smith and let's pizza. It's a brewery, so I'm like,
- 41:32Speaker 4: I don't know. Will doesn't go to East much. YadA,
- 41:33Speaker 4: YadA YadA. I try to be respectful. It's the best
- 41:35Speaker 4: pizza I've ever had. You got to take it to Prom.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Breathtake take it to Prom.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I can't wait to go.
- 41:39Speaker 4: Call it out. About three to four minutes before it's done,
- 41:42Speaker 4: reoil the crust, put red pepper flakes in a new
- 41:45Speaker 4: layer of cheese over top.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Put it back in.
- 41:47Speaker 4: It got hit during the tornado. They redid it, put
- 41:49Speaker 4: a brand new pizza oven in it. Focks take it
- 41:53Speaker 4: to prom. Take it to prom anyway. So for lunch, Hey,
- 41:57Speaker 4: pause this one real quick. Pauses real quick. No, I'm
- 42:02Speaker 4: just searching something so I can talk about it.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I couldn't wait because I knew you were going to
- 42:10Speaker 1: cook and I was like, I can't wait to hear
- 42:11Speaker 1: like what he says, Oh my god. But then when
- 42:13Speaker 1: you went to Pizza Rod, I'm like, this is fucking bullshit.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Not that you don't know, I will.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Say, there wasn't a lot of room for Derek to
- 42:23Speaker 2: jump into that conversation because the the vibes were very
- 42:31Speaker 2: high in that fight with like clump Taylor and Will,
- 42:36Speaker 2: like there was a lot going on.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Taylor out of respect to him.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yere, we're going okay.
- 42:41Speaker 4: It's not that I'm against Taylor. It's that if Taylor's
- 42:44Speaker 4: going to say words like we have bad Mexican food
- 42:47Speaker 4: in Nashville, then I'll take my energy elsewhere. It's just
- 42:49Speaker 4: kind of my take on it. Will has been very
- 42:51Speaker 4: respectful and we've talked a lot of food, so I
- 42:53Speaker 4: do apologize Smith and Lentz is like they make their
- 42:56Speaker 4: own bread, they make their own dough, they make everything.
- 42:58Speaker 4: They bring it all in seasonal people Like there's blue
- 43:00Speaker 4: collar guys that go there for their Caesar salad. Is
- 43:02Speaker 4: how good of the kind of diverse their man.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I think it's just the one that Bryce Harper said
- 43:07Speaker 2: he always gets too, Like I'm most positive that Bryce
- 43:11Speaker 2: Harper also said he gets this.
- 43:13Speaker 4: I mean I have a bag yeah of restaurants. Yeah,
- 43:17Speaker 4: And I mean our friendship's blossom and I'm giving you
- 43:19Speaker 4: so no doubt.
- 43:20Speaker 2: But but I would also say it's like I support
- 43:24Speaker 2: home team big time because of it's just a family
- 43:28Speaker 2: owned operation. Not saying it's the best. That doesn't mean
- 43:32Speaker 2: if I say it's not the best pizza, that's not
- 43:33Speaker 2: saying I think it's average pizza. Like I love their pizza,
- 43:36Speaker 2: get it every Friday from Pizza Friday. But Kevin who
- 43:40Speaker 2: runs it, he has like he listens to our stuff,
- 43:44Speaker 2: like we've always just chopped it up, big college football fan,
- 43:46Speaker 2: and I've just been I've been a customer that shows
- 43:48Speaker 2: up every week and we always chop it up. And
- 43:50Speaker 2: he's got two little ones around the same age, so
- 43:52Speaker 2: I just he's a fucking grinder. Yeah, and it seems
- 43:55Speaker 2: like their operation, they just got their full of grinders,
- 43:57Speaker 2: full of great people inside of a so home Team
- 44:01Speaker 2: pizza is inside of a shared kitchen. So it's not
- 44:04Speaker 2: you can't go in and like you can go in
- 44:06Speaker 2: and you make your payment everything else, but there's no
- 44:08Speaker 2: sitting area.
- 44:09Speaker 1: They just share a kitchen. So you walk in this
- 44:11Speaker 1: red door like this, it's just this building.
- 44:14Speaker 2: They have four walls, a couple of little windows, but
- 44:16Speaker 2: it's just for operations, just to work out of they deliver,
- 44:19Speaker 2: you can go and pick it up. And I just
- 44:21Speaker 2: I respect his like his passion for it, his hustle,
- 44:25Speaker 2: the way he goes about essentially everything, like he talks
- 44:28Speaker 2: about fatherhood, like we all we're always just chopping it up,
- 44:30Speaker 2: checking in on the little ones.
- 44:32Speaker 1: I just fully support his. I just I just support him.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I just want to, like, I just love giving him
- 44:38Speaker 2: love because I know he's just doing it from the
- 44:41Speaker 2: ground up, like doesn't have It's not like he has
- 44:43Speaker 2: a few different spots.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Dude, just in there fucking operating at all times.
- 44:46Speaker 4: There will be a day where I forget what Smith
- 44:49Speaker 4: and Len's pizza tastes like, but I'll never forget the
- 44:52Speaker 4: first time I bit into it sitting at the bar
- 44:54Speaker 4: when I first moved to Nashville, and the pizza is
- 44:57Speaker 4: better than that memory. But like to your point, there's
- 44:59Speaker 4: gonna be a day where you no longer can explain
- 45:01Speaker 4: what Hometome pizza tastes like, but you'll never forget how
- 45:04Speaker 4: you felt with him and the Amen.
- 45:05Speaker 2: That's why I love food Amen. It's like we sit
- 45:08Speaker 2: there and even when we get different pizza spots, I'm
- 45:10Speaker 2: always excited to go back, just to walk in and
- 45:12Speaker 2: say what's up to him and check in t He's
- 45:13Speaker 2: a big Ohio State fan.
- 45:14Speaker 1: They he makes these Buck guys that are just you've
- 45:17Speaker 1: had the Buck guys.
- 45:18Speaker 2: They're on reel the unreal.
- 45:21Speaker 1: And I just love going and.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Seeing him, or like when you when you go and
- 45:25Speaker 2: park and they deliver it out to you and they're
- 45:26Speaker 2: just chopping it up. I might be playing else in
- 45:28Speaker 2: the car, but I just I just love.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I love supporting home teams because I just I love
- 45:33Speaker 1: what the dude's about.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Definitely go inside to you. He'll give you a tour
- 45:37Speaker 3: of the kitchen. Yeah, it's really sick.
- 45:40Speaker 2: It is cool. He played at air Force, right, Oh
- 45:42Speaker 2: did he I'm not even sure. I'm almost if he
- 45:45Speaker 2: told me that he played, it's either air Force or
- 45:48Speaker 2: Colorado State.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I didn't know he played somewhere in Colrado.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Did not know he was familiar with the a gap. Yeah. Yeah,
- 45:54Speaker 2: but they share a kitchen and it's just like you
- 45:57Speaker 2: just respect what he's doing and trying to do and
- 45:59Speaker 2: everything there actually moving into a new building they are
- 46:02Speaker 2: to where there will be space because they have done
- 46:04Speaker 2: they have done well with their one pizza shop that's been.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Operating now for Grace where.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like over off of a Charlotte Charlotte Avenue,
- 46:12Speaker 2: you know the McDonald's and Hueye Babies. It's like right
- 46:15Speaker 2: off that road and it's like a little building on
- 46:17Speaker 2: the corner where it's like they share it with I
- 46:20Speaker 2: could probably find it like citizens something, but they just
- 46:24Speaker 2: they share a kitchen and you just when you walk
- 46:27Speaker 2: in and you get to know him a little bit,
- 46:28Speaker 2: you're like, man, he's fucking they grind. Yeah. I think
- 46:31Speaker 2: it's called the co op kitchen. Yeah.
- 46:33Speaker 4: I think always assume this was like like a farm
- 46:37Speaker 4: feed shop. Yeah, look, pictures on the outside, just like
- 46:40Speaker 4: have a red barn and like say love, yeah, I'm
- 46:42Speaker 4: looking at yeah, yeah, exactly know.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Even if if it's your first time going and picking
- 46:46Speaker 2: it up there, you don't even know if you're kind
- 46:48Speaker 2: of in the right spot because it's like they don't
- 46:49Speaker 2: have like a storefront or nothing else. That's cool. Citizen kitchens,
- 46:52Speaker 2: citizen kitchens. There we go, There we go.
- 46:55Speaker 1: The Shoutout Home Team. This is a dad's podcast.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Is a dad's podcast.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Talk kids, We talk kids, We talk shockwave with our partner,
- 47:05Speaker 3: with our spouse.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I still well, I still want to get my wreck.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I know, I know we're prere recommendations.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Oh chef s oh yeah, sorry, guys, I would love that.
- 47:17Speaker 6: Hey man, uh for lunch. Uh it's a classic Nashville
- 47:24Speaker 6: hot chicken. You can go Princess, which is the original,
- 47:27Speaker 6: the founder of it, yeah, story behind it. Or you
- 47:30Speaker 6: can hit I mean there's a bunch of different spots.
- 47:32Speaker 6: Is boltons still up? Boltons that bolts. Boltons will kick
- 47:36Speaker 6: your ass. Be careful when you when you order voltens.
- 47:39Speaker 6: Medium will ruin your day if you go to the
- 47:41Speaker 6: wrong spot. Depends on where you go. But I would
- 47:43Speaker 6: go Princess because it's the original it's not the best,
- 47:45Speaker 6: but it is the original that or maybe Loveless Cafe.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Just throwing a couple of things out.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Okay, recommendations, great, very well done, great recommendations.
- 47:56Speaker 2: So yeah, Dalton, you choose from and good luck. I
- 48:04Speaker 2: don't think you can go wrong with the wrong.
- 48:06Speaker 1: No, the't things go wrong. I have some hobby shout outs.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Let's let's just talk our scope of world of what's
- 48:14Speaker 2: going on in fatherhood? Oh okay, yeah, yeah, because I'm
- 48:17Speaker 2: dealing with a little something. What's going on for parents
- 48:19Speaker 2: that have three year olds four year olds? I'm sure
- 48:22Speaker 2: it happens. I obviously the word know is going to
- 48:24Speaker 2: happen throughout the course of their life and in parenthood.
- 48:27Speaker 2: But rue struggles where I'm trying to get her right,
- 48:31Speaker 2: is struggling with hearing the word no, Like you know
- 48:34Speaker 2: how we did the TV coupons and she'll like ask
- 48:37Speaker 2: that I kind of watch TV. And if it's like
- 48:39Speaker 2: a certain time of the day where I'm like, okay,
- 48:41Speaker 2: this doesn't need to happen now over the weekend, or
- 48:44Speaker 2: it was last week when char was working a double
- 48:48Speaker 2: in the evening and it was kind of early, probably
- 48:50Speaker 2: around like four point thirty Like, if we do screen time,
- 48:52Speaker 2: I like to measure when I'm preparing whatever the meal
- 48:55Speaker 2: is going to be for nighttime. Just get it to
- 48:57Speaker 2: where I can like I can collaborate it with me
- 49:00Speaker 2: doing something like, Okay, you can do your screen time.
- 49:01Speaker 1: You can do your TV coupon at this time. But
- 49:04Speaker 1: it was early and she was asking.
- 49:06Speaker 2: I was like, oh, sweetheart, we're not gonna watch TV
- 49:08Speaker 2: right now, and she was just gung ho, like when
- 49:10Speaker 2: they want to do something, you know, God bless their
- 49:12Speaker 2: little toddler brains, but they want to do it. Yeah.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I'm like, sweetheart, you gotta be patient.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Why can we uh? I'm like, we can do it
- 49:19Speaker 2: here in about I'm like, look at my watch. I'm like,
- 49:20Speaker 2: we can do it here in about thirty minutes. So
- 49:22Speaker 2: I want to right now. And she starts having a
- 49:23Speaker 2: meltdown over the word no. She struggles with hearing the
- 49:26Speaker 2: word no when she absolutely wants something, and it's difficult, Bro,
- 49:35Speaker 2: it is difficult to sit there and tell them no
- 49:38Speaker 2: because you start to fester in your brain. You're just like, bro,
- 49:41Speaker 2: you're not getting this, and you do your best to
- 49:44Speaker 2: the whole thermostat thermometer, you try to remain a thermostat
- 49:49Speaker 2: because it just it boils your blood when they're just
- 49:53Speaker 2: not handling the word no well, and you just know
- 49:57Speaker 2: in your brain like, hey, we're going to We're going
- 49:58Speaker 2: to have to work through this like this. This is
- 50:00Speaker 2: a lesson for both you. I want to help you
- 50:03Speaker 2: understand the lesson and teach you through patients and hey,
- 50:07Speaker 2: we can't get this right now. You can't do X,
- 50:09Speaker 2: Y and Z right now.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Here's why. Yeah.
- 50:11Speaker 2: And also it's a lesson for I feel like myself
- 50:14Speaker 2: as a parent because you get so tested when they
- 50:18Speaker 2: are just not wanting to be obedient to something where
- 50:21Speaker 2: you're trying to be cool about it and you're trying
- 50:23Speaker 2: to be like respectful and thoughtful and everything else. But
- 50:26Speaker 2: once their lid flips, Dude, your lid is right there
- 50:29Speaker 2: teetering borderline, ready to flip, and you just you know
- 50:33Speaker 2: it's not the right route to just get in their
- 50:35Speaker 2: ass about it, you know what I mean? Yeah, you
- 50:38Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying. We
- 50:41Speaker 2: had our parents back the day, we had our old man,
- 50:43Speaker 2: when the lid would be flipped and he'd get in
- 50:44Speaker 2: your ass about something, absolutely, and I'm trying to stay
- 50:50Speaker 2: poised on the best routes to handle things, whether it's
- 50:55Speaker 2: like you know, telling her like, sweetheart, I know it's hard,
- 50:59Speaker 2: I know this, I know this stinks, but we are
- 51:01Speaker 2: going to be patient through this, versus continue to just tell.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Her I told you, no, we're not doing it.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Stop crying, stop this, stop that, like just validating what
- 51:10Speaker 2: she's feeling. Because in the developmental stage, when their brains
- 51:13Speaker 2: about three, they have so many emotions that they can't
- 51:16Speaker 2: control or articulate, or they just have no control. They
- 51:19Speaker 2: don't have a governor on their brain. And so knowing
- 51:22Speaker 2: that I'm not thinking like, okay, I'm being soft, I'd
- 51:24Speaker 2: be like, hey, no, you're gonna sit your ass here.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Stop crying. YadA, YadA, YadA. Her brain is way different
- 51:28Speaker 1: than mine. I have control over how I can deliver
- 51:30Speaker 1: and how I can think and how I can operate
- 51:32Speaker 1: with her. So I'll do my best to sweetheart. I
- 51:36Speaker 1: know this is tough.
- 51:37Speaker 2: I know this is hard, but we're just gonna have
- 51:39Speaker 2: to be patient until we can watch TV. You will
- 51:43Speaker 2: get to watch TV TV, but not right now. Yeah,
- 51:46Speaker 2: there's so many Oh look at this toy over here.
- 51:48Speaker 2: You try to distract, adapt, distract, overcome, adapt, improvise overcome.
- 51:54Speaker 2: We're changing it.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Improvise to distract, adapt, distract, overcome. Oh look at this toy.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Oh Sweeter, did you try this picture while she's in
- 52:01Speaker 2: the middle of a meltdown to try to get her
- 52:02Speaker 2: brain thinking about something else to know, Like, dude, this
- 52:05Speaker 2: isn't the end.
- 52:05Speaker 1: Of the world.
- 52:06Speaker 2: This is not hard, my man. Yeah, this is not tough.
- 52:10Speaker 2: To just chill for another thirty minutes and figure something
- 52:12Speaker 2: else out. We have toys, we have arts and crafts.
- 52:14Speaker 2: We have so many things that you love doing, and
- 52:17Speaker 2: I know if you're doing them you won't even be
- 52:19Speaker 2: thinking about TV. But when they're lid is flipped and
- 52:23Speaker 2: they're having the meltdown, you're doing your best. I'm trying
- 52:26Speaker 2: to do my best as dad to level with her,
- 52:30Speaker 2: tell her, hey, I know this is tough, and also
- 52:33Speaker 2: let's figure out something else that we can do or
- 52:35Speaker 2: you know what, it's gone so overboard. Me talking to
- 52:38Speaker 2: you or trying to find solutions right now probably isn't
- 52:41Speaker 2: even the best course. If you want to be upset,
- 52:44Speaker 2: that's fine. I'm gonna give you some space to be upset.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Dad's going to be right over here if you want
- 52:48Speaker 2: to hug or you want to talk about it. But
- 52:50Speaker 2: and I'm sorry, but right now we're not watching TV.
- 52:53Speaker 2: So I'll like leave the area. I'll come back and
- 52:55Speaker 2: she might still be crying. And when she was still
- 52:57Speaker 2: crying and I came back in the room, I'm just like,
- 53:00Speaker 2: my lid's starting to my lid's starting to flip because
- 53:02Speaker 2: I'm getting pretty like, hey, dude, stop to stop the bullshit. Yea.
- 53:08Speaker 2: So I pick her up owner the room. I'm like, Hey,
- 53:10Speaker 2: we're gonna walk in the mom and dad's room. We're
- 53:12Speaker 2: gonna walk into mom and dad's room. As I'm walking
- 53:14Speaker 2: with her, I'm like, hey, get a hold of yourself.
- 53:16Speaker 2: Enough of the crying, enough of all this nonsense. You're
- 53:19Speaker 2: stronger than this. You were better than this all that
- 53:22Speaker 2: I told you.
- 53:22Speaker 1: And you're saying you're saying this out loud.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I'm saying this out loud too, or like as well,
- 53:26Speaker 2: because I'm getting I'm starting to get in that frustration
- 53:28Speaker 2: state of like it's starting to piss me off that
- 53:30Speaker 2: you're still here crying over about because you can't get
- 53:33Speaker 2: TV right now, and pick her up as I'm walking.
- 53:37Speaker 2: You're better you're you know you're better than this, You're
- 53:39Speaker 2: stronger this. I know you can use your strong voice.
- 53:41Speaker 2: We were not doing this, like get yourself together. And
- 53:44Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, here's what dad I wants to tell you.
- 53:46Speaker 2: As I'm holding her, I walk her into the room.
- 53:47Speaker 2: I walk her into our room. I sit her down,
- 53:50Speaker 2: and I'm like, what did I say to her? I'm like,
- 53:55Speaker 2: can that I ask you about something?
- 53:56Speaker 6: Like?
- 53:56Speaker 1: Can I talk to you about something?
- 53:57Speaker 2: Can you?
- 53:58Speaker 1: Can you wipe your tears? Can you calm down? And
- 54:00Speaker 1: I talk with you? Because we have to.
- 54:02Speaker 2: We need to learn something new. You love learning new things,
- 54:05Speaker 2: you love growing, You love failing at certain things, and
- 54:07Speaker 2: you struggle at times. You do with the bike, you
- 54:09Speaker 2: do it with swimming, you do with I'm saying all
- 54:11Speaker 2: the things that she's been gotten successful in. So I'm
- 54:14Speaker 2: trying to get her brain to start thinking about all
- 54:16Speaker 2: the things. You do. Love learning, you do love being curious.
- 54:18Speaker 2: You do love getting better. You love seeing yourself get better.
- 54:21Speaker 2: There's one area we have to get better in. There's
- 54:24Speaker 2: an area that where you can see progress.
- 54:26Speaker 1: You have to learn.
- 54:27Speaker 2: You have to be curious about getting better in this
- 54:29Speaker 2: and that is hearing the word no, because, sweetheart, you
- 54:32Speaker 2: have meltdowns when mom or Dadas says you can't have
- 54:35Speaker 2: something or you can't do something. And I know it's
- 54:38Speaker 2: tough in the time, but if you can think about
- 54:41Speaker 2: when we sit there and tell you know, we're not
- 54:43Speaker 2: being We're not being upset with you, We're not being
- 54:45Speaker 2: aggressive towards you. We're not being mean or anything else.
- 54:48Speaker 2: We're not being unkind. We're just letting you know now
- 54:50Speaker 2: is not the right time that we're gonna get this
- 54:52Speaker 2: toy or watch TV. And you all you know. I
- 54:57Speaker 2: try not to talk to her in absolutes, but I'm
- 54:59Speaker 2: like trying to c in a way of like, we
- 55:01Speaker 2: need to do a better job of learning the word no,
- 55:04Speaker 2: And I do, Sweetheart. I know it's hard, but I
- 55:06Speaker 2: know you can get better in this. I know you
- 55:08Speaker 2: love getting better at things. So when you hear the
- 55:10Speaker 2: word no, you just got to know I am looking
- 55:13Speaker 2: out for your best interest and you will. Guess what, Sweetheart,
- 55:16Speaker 2: You're gonna get to watch TV. It's just not right now.
- 55:20Speaker 2: You're just gonna have to learn something else to do.
- 55:22Speaker 2: I know you love drawing. Mom's gone right now. When
- 55:24Speaker 2: she comes home, she'd probably love to see a picture
- 55:26Speaker 2: from you arts and crafts? Would you like to do that? Yeah? Like, yeah,
- 55:31Speaker 2: that sounds fun, Like I'd like to do that. Like
- 55:33Speaker 2: all of a sudden, their brain just flips and she's
- 55:35Speaker 2: a completely different person. And I'm like, hey, listen to me.
- 55:37Speaker 2: Do you understand that we need to start getting better
- 55:39Speaker 2: with the word no? And she's like yeah, And I'm like,
- 55:42Speaker 2: I will tell you. Here's what I need from you now,
- 55:45Speaker 2: and I know you're gonna crush it. Here's what I
- 55:47Speaker 2: need from you now. I need you to not ask
- 55:48Speaker 2: me again about watching TV that has I'm gonna look
- 55:52Speaker 2: at the clock all the time.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Whenever it's time to watch TV. I will remind you.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Hey, sweetheart, would you like to watch? Would you like
- 55:58Speaker 2: to use your TV coupon now and watch Little Bear
- 56:01Speaker 2: or Daniel Tiger or whatever it is you want to watch.
- 56:03Speaker 2: I will let you know. But here's what I need
- 56:05Speaker 2: from you. I need you to be patient. I need
- 56:07Speaker 2: you to love doing your arch and crafts, and I
- 56:09Speaker 2: need you to not ask dad Dad when you can
- 56:12Speaker 2: watch it? Hey is the time to watch TV?
- 56:14Speaker 6: Now?
- 56:14Speaker 2: We got to learn, we got to explore patients a
- 56:17Speaker 2: lot more than a lot better than we are doing
- 56:20Speaker 2: right now, and that's kind of how I handled the situation.
- 56:24Speaker 2: But dude, it is so frustrating. It is so frustrating
- 56:27Speaker 2: getting through this whole no phase right now because she's
- 56:32Speaker 2: a stud, you know what I mean. It's like it
- 56:34Speaker 2: pains me because I'm like, dude, this should not be happening. Yes,
- 56:38Speaker 2: like you are better than She's sweet, she's smart, she's
- 56:43Speaker 2: great with communication. Yeah, last night, I got two women
- 56:46Speaker 2: now that boss me around the house. I got two
- 56:50Speaker 2: women now that boss me around the house. So with it.
- 56:53Speaker 2: Mama Ruth comes out Yesterday, I'm home and I put
- 56:56Speaker 2: something away and I come out. I come out to
- 56:58Speaker 2: the living room. Who just comes up to me, Hey, Dad,
- 57:01Speaker 2: just so you know, I'm going to go potty. She's
- 57:05Speaker 2: a I'm gonna go potty, Mom's gonna go, Mom's gonna
- 57:08Speaker 2: go clean up and change. So I need you to
- 57:10Speaker 2: watch Scotty.
- 57:12Speaker 1: She says that to me, good calm, and I'm smiling
- 57:15Speaker 1: as I'm looking down.
- 57:16Speaker 2: At her, and I look at you. Before Charle goes
- 57:17Speaker 2: back to the room, I'm like, what the hell is this?
- 57:20Speaker 2: And she starts laughing. I'm like, oh, now I got.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Two of y'all boss me around the house. That's watch Scotty.
- 57:27Speaker 1: That's hilarious. She is, but she is very capable as
- 57:31Speaker 1: a first born.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Yeah, like I feel like that that's a fun behavior
- 57:36Speaker 2: that will uh develop as far as life, no doubt.
- 57:39Speaker 2: Helping with Scott, no doubt. It's like when you try
- 57:41Speaker 2: and look into I guess, like the research of everything.
- 57:46Speaker 2: If you have a little one and they're getting to
- 57:47Speaker 2: these phases or the parents out there that are remembering
- 57:50Speaker 2: these phases or currently in these phases as they get older,
- 57:54Speaker 2: like all they're they're controlled so much by us that
- 57:58Speaker 2: as they grow into their own little human Because Rue
- 58:00Speaker 2: is doing that, she's very much an independent person. She's
- 58:02Speaker 2: very much going to have that type a firstborn style
- 58:05Speaker 2: about her. She loves to be in control, have autonomy
- 58:08Speaker 2: over her decision. So in her brain when she wants
- 58:10Speaker 2: to watch TV or once she wants to do a thing,
- 58:13Speaker 2: she just wants control and the freedom to do those
- 58:15Speaker 2: things because she crushes it and everything else. Yeah, Like
- 58:18Speaker 2: she wouldn't let me put a band aid on her.
- 58:21Speaker 2: The other night, she wanted to take the crowns. The
- 58:24Speaker 2: Crowns back to the bonus room. We had to kind
- 58:27Speaker 2: of tell her like, hey, you did arts and crafts
- 58:28Speaker 2: down here, you have to go put them up. She
- 58:30Speaker 2: ends up dropping all the crowns all over the place
- 58:32Speaker 2: in the hallway. Good, that's great, good, yeah, drop them.
- 58:35Speaker 2: I hear kind of frustrating crying. I just go over
- 58:37Speaker 2: he sweet are you frustrated? I know that stinks here out, Debta,
- 58:39Speaker 2: I'll help you pick it up. Now you can go
- 58:41Speaker 2: put it in your bonus room.
- 58:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Yeah, she comes in, Debta, I can do a new
- 58:44Speaker 2: fresh band aid. Oh, of course, absolutely, let me go. No,
- 58:46Speaker 2: I want to do it. She goes and gets it.
- 58:48Speaker 2: I'm sitting in the chair. I hear a box at
- 58:49Speaker 2: the ground. Band aids all over the band aids all
- 58:52Speaker 2: over the bedroom. Good.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Yeah, frustrated, mad dadda. Can you come help me? Yeah,
- 58:55Speaker 1: I'll come help you here. Can I put the band
- 58:58Speaker 1: aid on you? No?
- 58:58Speaker 2: No, I want to do it. Okay. She tries putting
- 59:01Speaker 2: the band aid on, bends it every which way. It
- 59:02Speaker 2: looks like an origami paper machete. Yeah, like, bends it up,
- 59:06Speaker 2: messes it up. Can't can't do it? Good? Good?
- 59:09Speaker 1: Like, hey, can da? No?
- 59:10Speaker 2: I want to do a sweetheart, I love you. Let
- 59:14Speaker 2: that put the band aid on you crush it. Let
- 59:16Speaker 2: me at least help give you some direction. Let me
- 59:18Speaker 2: just open the package and get you started. You can
- 59:21Speaker 2: finish it. We figured that out. Awesome.
- 59:23Speaker 1: But she's very much like very much independent, wants to
- 59:26Speaker 1: be in control of everything.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 59:28Speaker 1: So it's just that that fine line when their shit
- 59:32Speaker 1: gets rocked.
- 59:33Speaker 2: When when does it change?
- 59:36Speaker 3: As far and I'm asking this as like Scarlett is,
- 59:40Speaker 3: you know three years behindru when does it change from
- 59:43Speaker 3: We've talked about like being able to almost like trick
- 59:47Speaker 3: our toddlers with like getting what we want them to do,
- 59:52Speaker 3: like by doing some kind of adult brain thing where
- 59:56Speaker 3: you say, oh, yeah, how many more times do you
- 59:59Speaker 3: want to do it? They can only count to five,
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: so then they say three, and it's like, oh, I
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: got them. Like where where does that shift go from
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: like playing those like I can trick them into doing
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: the right thing, and then like I feel like she
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: can communicate well enough to hear if I sit her
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: down and say, hey, I know you're good enough.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: I know that you're smart enough that you can hear
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: the word no. We can be better at this, Like
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: where did that good question? I would say, we're just
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: about to be four to April. With God, that makes
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: me say, that's a month away. That's really scary, dude.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: I didn't even realize that she was that close to
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: turning four.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I did not know that, damn, I would say in
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: her three and agor three phase, because there's always going
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: to be a version of being able to like I guess,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: trick or negotiate with them. Yeah, but they're going to
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: start identifying the routine and patterns of everything to where
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: they understand how many how many bites they might have left,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: or how many times they might want to do something,
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: or when you're just constantly giving them options to at
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: least allow them to have control over what decision they're
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: going to make within the structure of everything, they just
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: get better at it. But those kinds of conversations, I
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: would say it happened throughout this year of three because
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: she's gotten better in a lot of areas to where
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: you can grab examples to communicate with her because she
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: does understand what you're saying, Like she's made Going to
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: a Montsori has been tremendous for her because they do
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: so much tribe mentality work and counting and just all
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: of the things where they work together and communicate and
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: kind of do a lot of things on their own
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: to where she gets it to where you trust her
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: to do stuff. You kind of always know what those
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: boundaries are. And then she's also like a sponge, so
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: she's curious, Hey, I'm going to keep you from doing
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: this if you have a conversation with her on here's why.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: She loves to know that she has a mission of
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: some sort within the tribe. So I would say much
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: happens at three because two they talk about terrible twos.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Twos wasn't as bad as three was, especially coming into
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: the first half of the three year old stuff, because
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: they're just more with it. They understand what they want more,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: they understand how to not how to argue better. But
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: they just their meltdowns happen a little bit more violently
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: because they kind of do know now how to communicate
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: what they're wanting. They just can't. They can't slow everything down,
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: and they're hard wirings being hacked by all the hormones
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: and emotions going on with their developing brain. So but
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: they do know much more what they want, whereas in two,
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: you can play the whole mind game with them a
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: little bit more because they're so new to the world.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: They're learning about everything, Like Rus in such a why phase.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Now it's not why is he bad? Or it's not
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: just is he a bad guy? It's oh, well, why
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: is he bad? Well?
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: This kind of happened to Well, why did that happen
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: to him?
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Well because their mom and dad or this person over
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: here ATD X, Y and Z, Well, why did they
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: do that to him? And then you're just trying to
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: make up stuff because they're so curious on the why
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: behind everything that happens, whereas in two they're more of
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: like what's that?
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: They're learning about what it is? Oh, what's that?
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Then they start when they start getting to why, they're
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: just they're so curious and their brain is developing so
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: much that they start having patterns now to match their
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: exploration of the world, and you're the one that's kind
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: of guiding them through all of it. But three is
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: the big Three is the big age where I feel
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: like I've been able to you can actually have conversations
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: with Ru and she's so curious because she knows you
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: trust her and she trusts you. Yeah, that's she's picking
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: up everything that you're telling her.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that just from my small little sample size of
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: being at the zoo with her recently, I picked up
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: on that immediately. Her communications yeahs and how much they've
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: grown and like she's excuse me, she is a little
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: girl now you know what I mean, and behaves and
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: acts like one and ask those types of questions that
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: even I was sitting there when we were talking about
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: the muscles and the bones of the tiger and like like, man,
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: you are like, yeah, growing.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you the example. I think I shared
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: it on for the dads a couple of weeks ago
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: or last week whenever we were recapping the zoo stuff.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: But when we got in the when we got in
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: the car and I was like, hey, I love that
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: you helped entertain Scarlet ye And you're like, when they
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: do have patience, dude, I love that you've been having
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: so much patience? Well why why am Why am I
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: having patience? And then you're kind of explaining like what
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: they've been doing, but you're kind of validating a positive
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: thing that they did so that way they remember it.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I'm like, I loved how much you helped out Dad
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: end Uncle Sherm at the zoo with Scarlet?
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: What was I?
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: What was I doing? And then you tell them like, well,
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: why did you like that? Why did you love that?
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: And then I'm we're talking about the communication well dead end,
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: Uncle Sherm get to hang. But they're just they're just
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: such a sponge and they're so curious, like, Okay, well,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: why why did you enjoy that that thing that I
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: was doing? Tell me more about that. It helps you
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: like lay a foundation. So then the next time it happens,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: they're already thinking about it. I'm gonna make Scarlett laugh. Yeah,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna do these things and they'll let you know
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: that they're doing them because they want the reward. Hey, sweetheart,
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: Not everything we're doing is for a compliment. Yeah you
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: know what I mean? Yeah, Okay, you gotta watch me
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: go do he did it? Watch me? And then she'll
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: go and like, hug Scotty. No, that's so sweet, sweetheart.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: I want to just hug Scotty because you just love Scott.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: You don't need dad and MoMA to watch every time.
- 1:05:24Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: I obviously I can't remember when I was like three
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: or four years old, but uh, that was one of
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: my favorite things of like moments where I did get
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: sat down by my parents and there was like a
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: full explanation of why the answer was no or why
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: something wasn't gonna happen that I wanted it to happen,
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Like I loved being able to have a conversation about
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: it instead of just no and that that's it and
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: that's final, because I did hear that sometimes too. Yeah
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: I have great parents, like you know, no parents perfect,
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: but like I would get those no and the answers
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: out you don't need it, yeah because I said so.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Yeah, because I said so, which would leave they would
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: leave me frustrated because I'm you know, if I got
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: an explanation of why, maybe I would understand, uh why
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: the answer is know in that situation, and then I'm
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: not trying to push that again in the future, Like
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: you sitting down with ru in that moment and really
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: trying to show her what's going on, showing her why
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: it's no telling, complimenting her and being like I feel
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: like you can understand this.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: You're big girl enough that you can handle this. All
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: that like sounds awesome to me. Yeah, yeah, it's just
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: testing in those times, bro oh, because I know parents
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: out there it's like when those moments are happening, the
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: lid is flipped that she just can't and would you
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: just want to?
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: And I'm already start facing pillow. I'm starting to get
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: a little hint of that. Even Scarlet is officially eight
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: months old today, by the way, yeah, the third of March.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: But I'm already starting to get that a little bit
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: with Scarlet. And it's funny of like her like she's
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: starting to hit and swing when she doesn't want something
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: like ye do want blah blah, I don't want this toy,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: throw that like I don't, you know, hitting you in
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: the face or bucking dude, She's like bucking so hard.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Now would she like once down or isn't like comfortable yeah?
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Or like hey, I want to play. I don't want
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: to sit in your lap in the rocking chair, like
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: I have a cool playpin over there, put me in it.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: And she's doing this so much with like a not
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: a cry, but like a ah, like letting you know,
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: like I want to go do something else, like stop
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: doing this. And so I'm already like, oh man, this
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: is gonna be fun, like having to deal with somebody
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: that is saying no to you.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's fun too because it gives you, as
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: a parent too, some more directions.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: It you don't like that, you don't want that, now
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: we know now, I know, Yes, I don't know if
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: I'm just guessing if you're not hungry right now or
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: if you're this is something you don't like.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Yes, that that actually goes into my dad hack, like
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: perfectly is bedtime playtime of Scarlett was one hundred percent.
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: I fed her solids and stuff, and I got home
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: so late from daycare that it was already kind of
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: her feeding and bathtime like by the time I got
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: her home, so we didn't do our bedtime playtime, and
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: the entire time she's like trying to eat solids and stuff.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: She's pissed. She doesn't want anything to do with it,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: which is not really Scarlett.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: Scarlett has a very kind of like calm vibe, and
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: she'll let you know if she doesn't like something. But
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: she was letting me know she was upset. I was like, oh,
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: she's tired. She's probably just tired. I'll go ahead and
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: put her in the bath. She's not really having fun
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: in the bath like she usually is. I put her
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: on the changing table, she is so sad that she's
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: on the changing table. I'm like, this is the one
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: place where you're always happy. What like, yea, what has changed?
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: What's going on? Trying to feed her the bottle, she
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: takes three ounces out of seven. That's like unheard of
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: for Scarlet. That never happens. I put her into her
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: crib because I sat there for twenty minutes, like, okay,
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: you're gonna go down.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: The entire time she's doing this, which she never does.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: I put her in the crib.
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: She's screaming for like fifteen minutes straight, and she finally
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: did go to bed. But like looking back on it now,
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: all that bucking and all that crying and stuff, I
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: was like, she was trying to tell me I didn't
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: get to play with you, Like I didn't get to
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: sit down in the playpen.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: I didn't realize that until it was too late.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Of like trying to put her in the crib, I
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: was kind of moving her hands around a little bit,
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: trying to tell her to go to bed.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: And she started laughing and smiling. When I was like
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: playing with her hands, I was.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Like, oh no, I didn't play with you. That's what
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: that's what you wanted this entire time, So that was
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: that was my That's awesome. I love that you're getting uh,
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: you're like getting feedback. I always love those little nuances
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: where Scotty's way different from Rue. Whereas Rue would take
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: down the entire bottle, like five six ounces in it,
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: Rue would take it all the way down, because Scotty's
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: around fifteen months and Scotty's different, Like she'll take down
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: like two ounces and then stop. And then I'm thinking, Okay,
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: does she not want any more milk? Like it seems
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: like she's not not into the milk thing. And then
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: all of a sudden, you like read a book and
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: she wants the milk again. But there's a learning phrase
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: there for me to where I'm like, Okay, if you
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: don't want the milk, I'd get to where I just
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: hide it and be like maybe it just needs to
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: be out of her sight because she's not like drinking
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: all the milk. I go downstairs until chorro dude, she
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: left like four ounces in her bottle and we just
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: put it in the fridge for the next day. But
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: over the next few days because I wasn't realizing she
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: just she takes it down differently to wear rue. You
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: had this full routine and then when you're sitting there
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: to read the book, read the books and everything else,
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: she's just hammering the milk. Now with Scotty, I've just
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: learned that, like, okay, she just takes twenty minutes to
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: drink all of her bottle or thirty minutes to drink
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: all of her bottles. So when I'm up about to
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: change her arm, like hey, put away your laundry, I
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: just give her the bottle so she can sip on
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: it whenever she's wanting to sip on it. But I'm
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: not knowing that until like I'm learning days after like
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: thinking about whatever the feedback like Scarlett was giving you
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: of like okay, they're just they just maneuver, they're just
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: doing things differently.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Also, what type of milk is she drinking now?
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Right now? So Scotty has eggzema on her skin, so
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: we're exploring is it dairy, like is it h oh okay?
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Is it something that she could have an allergy to?
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: So we've gotten like dairy out of her diets. So
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: right now she'll have like almond milk for like as
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: her bedtime drink. Like we'll do different things throughout the day,
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: but right now Scotty's just having almond, which she likes it.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: So that fires us up. Is a game when you
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: change from like you know, you're drinking like whole milk
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: to almond milk. Yeah, but that's what she's having out
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: because she's gotten like eggs amunt houses, like these rashes
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: on her skin, to where we're trying to figure out
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: what's going on, oh with her skin, because it doesn't
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: seem like it's.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Bothering her, because that's such a dad hack that I
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: just that you just said with putting the remainder of
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: the milk in the fridge, I haven't even thought about that,
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: but I but then when it's enough, if it's like
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: an ounce, I might just dump it. Like if it's
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: a little bit, I might just dump it or wash it.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: But sometimes Scotty was leaving like three or four ounces
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: like in her bottle. I'm like, all right, I guess
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: we'll just use this for the morning time. But it's
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: only because she was different. She's different from Rude because
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Rue would just suck it down and you would just
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: know when she was done.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Scotty's like a sipper. Yeah, like throughout the entire bedtime.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: I'll read books and sometimes Scotty's like, ru would sit
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: there and you'd read the full book to her, she
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: pointed to, you'd have like interactions if kisses or kissing
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: was on a page, like you'd like kiss them and
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: stuff like that.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Like Scotty enjoys that. But Rude sit there and listen
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: and drink her milk.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Scott, He's like, you're trying to read the pages, and
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: she's trying to touch and engage with the book and
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: move the pages herself. Like she doesn't have the same
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: kind of like patience or chillness that Rude did. Scotty
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: will be done with the book. You'll get three pages
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: in and she'll be leaning on you, like wrestling you
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: to get another back. Yeah, And I'm like, golly, hey,
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: just relax, man, just sit down and like let's enjoy this.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: We're going to bed dude. Yeah.
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: And I ask a dumb guy question. Do do you
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: test babies for what they're allergic to at a young
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: age or is it just kind of like they tell
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: you when they're allergic to something. Like I'm thinking about
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: like if a baby's allergic to carrots and you feed
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: the carrots and then something happens or is there some
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: version of like allergy testing for babies.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Or is it just as you go there is a form,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: But absolutely it doesn't just happen like they're not like
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: do they do test them like right out of the gate.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Not right out of the gate. And I think it's
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: around like the four five six rain of like the
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: major allergies. But I know a lot of people for
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: peanut butter because a lot yeah, peanuts is a peanut allergy,
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: nuts a big one.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: They will test it in the parking lot of a hospital,
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: which is kind of a dad hack, I guess.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: But a lot of times you're like learning on the go.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, like they're having an allergic reaction to anything, and
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: then you take them into the pediatrician.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: You'll sit there and talk about the diet.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: But there is a tour. Hey let's try this, let's
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: try that. That's kind of where we got to. What
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: we're doing with Scottie is like let's just see if
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: she's having an allergy to be.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: Dairy, because there's also a nut allergy of like all
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: you know, not just peanuts, Like oh okay, if they're
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: allergic to peanuts, Like, let's test them for all these
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: different types of nuts.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: It's like, yo, they just have a nut allergy, like
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: they can only do it. Yeah, just anything legit though, yeah,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: overarching nut allergy.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: Also, I have a humongous dad loss.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: I just briefly want to talk about, and I honestly
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: want PT six's help on this.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: This is a cry for help. Okay, the ratkin.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Situation will not cease. They are officially out of the space.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: But one of them was definitely killed by something. Because
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: my house smells like a dead animal right now. The
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: entire shit, the entire living room, kitchen areas smells like
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: a dead animal.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: It's awful.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I don't know what to do.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Have you checked cross space. There is not a crawl
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: space to like get into like it would basically you
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: would have to take off like multiple pieces of wood
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: from like the exterior of the home and enter in
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: through there.
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: There's no like attics, any points of enturg that a
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: s all animal could have got under the home.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that same point of entry that I closed
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: up twice. Now they ripped they rip it off. I
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: did nails and screws, and they rip.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: The roof on the roof. Have you checked I'm talking
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: about below the house.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: Oh, below the house, Yeah, there is, there is, but
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: I mean it's almost one hundred million percent in the
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: in the ceiling.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Like okay, so you know you can smell. Oh yes,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: So your question to pop a team six out there
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: that's dealt with potential.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: What what do I dead animals smell in their house?
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: What do I do?
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Like there is a dead animal in the crawl space
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: of I don't know what to do.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: I'll be honest, I don't know what to do. I
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: wouldn't know what to do. I'd just be paying to
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: spraying for breeze. And I paid for this. Oh, charl
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: would be in my ass about spraying for breeze when
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Charles out of town. You'll love this because this is
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: like a newspaper esque. Roue wet the bed when she
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: was sleeping with me one night and got a little.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: Bit, just got a little bit. No, no, no, I
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: took the sheets off because we have like this, We
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: have like this eight this eight sleep like cover that
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: like helps chill and heat.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: The bed and stuff like that. And it doesn't seem
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: like you can wash it. Yeah, And so I'm like,
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: whoa I you know, I took the sheet off. I'm
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: washing the sheets, but the eight sleep it still got
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: the pist smell on it. And then when Charle came back,
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: she's like, what'd you do? I was like, what do
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: you mean? I was like, I just sprayed for breeze
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: on it. I hit it with some clean it out.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: You didn't like blatch it or try to rub it
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: out with a get a rag with. She was saying
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: some home remedy remedy type shit.
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: No.
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: I thought like the for breeze like that would just
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: that would just kill it. She's like, well, I mean
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: you were saying the smell is still there, like I
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: can smell it. I'm like, oh, the forre breeze didn't work, honey.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: I tried to do something. Yeah, there was an attempt
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: to face he's got the chemicals and everything else, like
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: it's not good to just spray for breezes.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: You gotta you gotta figure out a way to try.
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: And clean it.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: I don't know what you want me to do, and
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: I don't know what I need to do for for
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: this and all all else. I will say about the
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: situation is I hired people.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Do you guys just like candles. Yeah, we've just been
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: doing candles, baking soda. I don't I don't even Yeah,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: we've been doing candles. You do that apple side of vinegar.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: There's like a little opening in my roof, like starting
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: like holy water. Just just make a little grenade of
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: apples or vinegar.
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: Just don't people use apple side of vinegar for everything? Yeah,
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: burn some sage. Yeah, but I desperately like I need
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: some help. I just want to put this out there.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: I have.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: I don't even know what they're called, but it's like
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: the Wildlife Specialists.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: There's some name for that.
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: Who said Steve irwincontrol dot com.
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: I just texted you a link.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: So fabulous.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: I've hired one of them, and it was it felt
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: like a scam because I was charged six hundred dollars
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: for them to put a trap on my roof that
- 1:19:17Speaker 3: caught a baby raccoon.
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: And they're like, oh, well, we can't just like take.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: The baby away, So we let the baby out of
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: the cage and just put it back in the crawl
- 1:19:26Speaker 3: space to be with its mom because we can't take
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: the baby away.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: I was like, oh, oh, they brought the trap over
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: trap something released the animal the critter back into Yeah,
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: we're just going to take our trap back.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: But hey, and I got to pay six hundred dollars
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: for that.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: That was fun. Crazy, That was a lot of fun.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: I got to see a baby raccoon in a cage
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: on my roof for six hundred dollars.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: Well worth it, So so pt Sichos that were going
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: to give me that type of recommendation.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: I need some different avenue than that. Yeah, I need
- 1:19:58Speaker 3: a different avenue. Bye Jim in Pt. Six, please help me,
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: help me.
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: I do have a I have a dad win slash loss.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: This is a little dad loss by TRAVISCT strict Faden.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: On X Hey Boys.
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: Travis from Michigan checking in, huge fan of the show,
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: saw the new Empty six shirts drop and thought, perfect,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: my heavily pregnant wife needs this in her life.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: She's twenty nine weeks with.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Kid number two, looking like she swallowed a yoga ball
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: that's now practicing karate in there. I love the creativity,
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: so I hit her with Babe, I gotta get that
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: dope new shirt in a small Her face immediately did
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: the you sweet sweet idiot betrayal look. Got absolutely flamed
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: for sizing her like she's fitting into a pre pregnancy Lululemon.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Oh good, panic ordered the next size up. I'm diffusing
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: the bomb now, praying to rise before she goes full
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: hulk on me. Y'all keep cooking, pet sick oh out
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: with the emoji pt sico let's go. Yeah, thank you, Travis, dude.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: Good luck out there, man, truly thank you for the support.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Bwtv dot com.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Bw tv dot com. There's also the contest.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: Going on right now. Yes, yes, we name it, dude,
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: that's all right.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: The sikos, the ones who actually listened to the full hour. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: they're gonna hear us. Okay, this did just really quick.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: Shameless plug, a shameless plug for our own companies contests
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: that we're doing. There's a T shirt contest. There's a
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: bunch of Busting with the Boys shirts on there. They're
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: really great. I am actually a huge fan of the
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: uh Busting with Thy Boys, and you guys are in
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: night outfits. That's my favorite by far. But there are
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: two PT six inspired designs and they are badass, and
- 1:21:51Speaker 3: they are badass.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: And the little commercial piece of content you made for
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: who's phenomenal. Yes, yes, Brovo and the riding deck chef,
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: just all of it. Bravo.
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: Yes, they they did a fabulous job with that. That
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: was a very funny idea. And hopefully this David versus
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Goliath story, maybe we get a third place. Maybe the Cougar,
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: the hot cougar mommy gets like a third place finish,
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: or the bear gets a third place finish.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Let's get one of those designs. Why not a championship?
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Why not?
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Why not us?
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: Why not be elite? But essentially fan this is a
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: design contest where fans submitted designs. I'll be on merchandise
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: and a fan drew up awesome pieces for Empty six
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: and Papa Team six. Yep. Like we'll obviously have it
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: playing like as you guys are watching. If you're listening
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: right now, make sure to just check out the site
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: btwtv dot com. The design contest will be up right
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: in front of your face. Yes, you click on that
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: and you'll see you'll know what we're talking about. And
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: there we're phenomenal ones and the winner is getting there's
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: like a first, there's a first, second, third, uh to
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: reward the fans who submitted designs. Whichever shirt gets sold
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: the most, that's gonna be the winner. That design winner
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: is getting three thousand dollars. Yeah, second place is getting
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: two thousand, Third place is getting one thousand dollars. So
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: if the empty six shirt or the PT six shirt
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: sells the most, it has the most sales, that person
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: who designed it will be getting a reward of three
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: thousand dollars. Yeah, so that's how that's how it's working.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: The stakes are high, The stakes are high. So PT
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: six come correct, bring the army and let's try and
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: get one of these one of these designs to win. Yeah.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: GWTV dot com, BWDB dot com. Shameless blog of our
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: own website, Hubby shoutouts, I have hubby shoutouts emails. Yeah,
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: let's rip it.
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: Let's rip I have a hubby shout out right here
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: from Antwinette Saba on Ig. Hey boys, I just wanted
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: to send a message to say how truly grateful and
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: thankful I am for it.
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: For the dads. I've been a listener since day one,
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: and the craziest part is the pod launch shortly after
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I got pregnant. The timing felt meant to be, and
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: my husband and I have been active listeners ever since.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Every week we look forward to the laughs, the advice.
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: And yes, even the tears.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Throughout my entire pregnancy, we listen and talk about the trenches,
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: getting so fired up hearing all the stories and feeling
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: ready to dive right in ourselves. Well, our baby boy
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: officially arrived on February twenty second. He's a junior second
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: of his name, so that birthday feels very fitting for
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: a legacy guy. I can't even put into words what
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: this podcast has done for my life and especially my husband.
- 1:24:48Speaker 3: Good is now a staple in our house. He doesn't
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: miss trash day. Good, no dishes in the sink, Good floors,
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: vacuumed good. Dog's taken care of good. So they kind
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: restructured the good thing there.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: I like it.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: Yeah, taking the night shift so I can sleep and
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: be the best mom possible for our son, especially while
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: breastfeeding Good Good Good. She put three goods there. Since
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: giving birth, my husband Joe was absolutely or My husband
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: Joe has absolutely stepped the fuck up. He is a
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: full blown general and officially a pt SIKO. I'm so
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: proud of the father he's become, and I truly believe
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: this podcast helped shape the mindset going into fatherhood. From
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: the bottom of my heart, thank you for building something
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: that impacts families the way you probably don't even realize.
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: With love officially Milk Team sixer Antoinette.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Antoinette, thank you very much. That is awesome.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: That's an awesome shout out. That's a massive shout out. Yeah,
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: and the shout out she's bringing up is now. I
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: remember I put it on my story the other day,
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: but I saw Luke Comb's sitting with somebody breaking down.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: I think it was with Bobby Bones. Yeah, yeah, yours
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: was the Bobby Bones one where he's.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: Sitting down and it was very good.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: It was very much like he simplified it to a
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: way to where Luke Combs because he's a massive loves
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: being a dad, talks about being a dad, and and
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: Bobby was asking him like, hey, what would be your
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: best advice going into fatherhood?
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: And I loved his response because there's a response was basically, you.
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: Mean nothing for the kid, which sounds like, you know,
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: it sounds like a okay, what does that mean? We
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: shouldn't dads be involved? YadA YadA. He's like, your kid
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: needs there's nothing that you can give your kid in
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: those first you know a couple months, those first few months,
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: who needs all the help? Who does who? The person
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: who does need you is your wife, which is so
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: true like postpartum, we're all very we're all we're all aware.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: I wouldn't stay very aware to what postpartum comes with
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: for women, Like it's hard for me to even explain
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: how what. When our wives get on we will have
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: them break it down a little bit more for us.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: But essentially there's a huge hormonal change that's taking place
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: where they're just dealing with they're dealing with an ego
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: death and identity death because now they have this.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: New kid in our world and they're the basically the light.
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: They're the vessel, like they are the nucleus for the kid,
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: Like you can hold them, you can feed them, you
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: can do all those things. Your kid does need you
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: in that capacity. But mainly the help that is coming
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: for is for mom because of the lack of sleep,
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: the lack of everything that they get because they have
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: to essentially pour everything into the newborn child. Where the
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: help or the entire scope of your work as a
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: PT sixer needs to come from the entire mission. The
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: goal is obviously fatherhood, holding your little one, loving your
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: little one, falling in love with your little one. But
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: the mission, the moment the kid comes, needs to be
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: all about your empty sixer, all about your wife and
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: everything you can do around her to help her out.
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: And when Luke was saying it and explaining it, and
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: we can run the clip if we want to, or
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: show the clips so people can go see give me
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: some advice. And by the time my first kid.
- 1:28:02Speaker 8: Yep, I would say my biggest piece of advice is
- 1:28:06Speaker 8: the baby. The baby with the infant that comes out,
- 1:28:10Speaker 8: it does not need you in any way. Your wife
- 1:28:14Speaker 8: needs you a lot though.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: Got it.
- 1:28:15Speaker 8: Your wife is gonna be so tired, it's gonna be
- 1:28:18Speaker 8: so exhausting because she's going through the same thing you're
- 1:28:20Speaker 8: going through. But there's also a physical element for her,
- 1:28:24Speaker 8: like her body is gonna be completely different after this thing,
- 1:28:28Speaker 8: and it's gonna be like she's never experienced that before,
- 1:28:31Speaker 8: and she's gonna be dealing with all these new emotions,
- 1:28:34Speaker 8: and like helping her through it and doing everything to
- 1:28:36Speaker 8: make her life as comfortable and easy as it can
- 1:28:39Speaker 8: be through that process.
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: To me, is the most benefit that you can be.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: But I just I loved his answer because he's one
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: hundred percent right. It's all about It's all about helping mom.
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: It all about helping your wife and curating whatever it
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: is the environment that needs everything going on because they're
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: just there. They're their body's been hijacked by all these
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: different hormones, postpartum, everything going on, because they are the
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: one that is mainly in charge of keeping this little
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: one alive, giving them everything that they need nutrient wise.
- 1:29:13Speaker 2: Like you, again, you're changing the diapers. You're not changing
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: the diapers because you're fall in love with your kid.
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: That's a byproduct of changing the diapers, holding them and
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: feeding them and everything else. But you're doing all of
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: this work for your wife, the decluttering, the cleaning up.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: He's talked about, the dishes, the dishes, the vacuuming, all
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: of these things that helps mom out throughout the entire process.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: Obviously it's an ongoing process forever, but mainly in those
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: first few months. Man, it is pivotal that your entire being,
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: your entire mission as APT sixer is how do I
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: help Mom?
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and I would say that it leads to a
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: really good runoff of if you can ask yourself the question,
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: am I being an intentional husband and the answer is yes,
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: then I would say nine times out of ten, also
- 1:30:00Speaker 3: being an intentional dad by being an intentional.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: Husband to your wife, like when when you've had your baby, Like,
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: if you're doing things to help out mom, more than
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: likely you are being a good dad as well, right,
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: Like just go hand in hand. You got to find
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: a way to compartmentalize the stress that's going on in
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: your world outside of it, because, yeah, fatherhood is amazing
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: because you got a new kid. You're hearing all the compliments,
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: You're wanting to show them pictures and do all those things.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: That's fun stuff that comes with it. Yeah, but the entire,
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: the entire mission is around mom.
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: Also, I forgot to show this. Antoinette provided a wonderful
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: picture of her hobby. That's him leaving the hospital with
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: their baby. He's got the nice little for the dad's
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: hoodie on. He's looking like a stud, looking like a stud.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: I have another shout out, hubby, shout out here from
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Emma McKee on x HI reaching out. That sounded just
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: like Emma too. That sounded just like her reaching out
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: Because for the dads is frequently spoken about in our home.
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: My husband Dakota is a big fan. He has been
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: studying so hard to pass his PE exam professional Engineer.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: It's something he's been waking up very early to study
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: for a very long time so he doesn't cut time
- 1:31:18Speaker 2: with his two daughters, Mia and wren and myself in
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: the evenings after work. This is a huge accomplishment. This
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: morning he got his results and he was so excited.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Then he was extra excited because you guys liked his comment.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: What then even more excited when you commented fitting because
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: he has been fitting because he has been using his
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: workout time to study for his exam. Anyway, give him
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: a shout out for passing his eight hour test to
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: become a professional engineer and tell him Emma, Mia and
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: Rennie are so proud and thankful for his hard work
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: and that we love him too hard emojis ps, thank
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: y'all for everything.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: Please reply so I know when if you're doing it,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: so he can be prepared. Oh my yes, wait, what
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: was his name?
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: His name is Dakota Dakota team man.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: Congratulations, bro Hey, shout out Dakota professional Engineer.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: Come on, I feel like engineer. You know when you're
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: when you're growing up and you're in like elementary school
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: and you're trying to like find things that you want
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: to do. Whether it's like doctor, lawyer, I feel like
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: engineer is always in like the big the mount rushmore
- 1:32:24Speaker 2: of jobs people talk about big time. Dude.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: If you that's like dad's getting to brag about their
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: son or daughter. Yeah, it's like lawyer, doctor engineer, Yeah,
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: professional you know, professional person.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah that yeah engineering. Damn eight hours dude,
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: you could that is crazy.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: You could go into that exam with the sun up
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: and come out and spitch black at night, Like that's
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: a whole day essentially.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: That's crazy. Yeah, it's amazing, and it's awesome to hear
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: about her just being pumped for him, like he always
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: woke up super early, so it didn't take away of
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: time from being dad, being hubby. Yeah, putting the kids down.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: We got to take some kind of test as a pod.
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: That would be fun, some kind of little exam, maybe
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: just the A C T or S A T. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: that would be scantrons. Do they do the scantron? Yeah,
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: but I'm the scantron life A three E A three
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: d uh huh. Sometimes you try and think of it
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: as like, okay, I've done C three times in a row.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: There ain't no way because I was at first I
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: might go back to D and you're thinking I got
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: these three season a row, like those are the correct
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: answers on this test, Like they might be trying.
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: To get me here there.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: Coach O'Donnell shout out was a coach at Alito, and
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: he was diabolical with his scantron answers, and he would
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: purposely make the scantrons a B c D A b
- 1:33:55Speaker 3: c D A b c D so that people would
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: second guess as their filling out the scantron. They're like,
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: I'm seeing a pattern here, Like am I what what
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: is going on?
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: You look up the scantron and you just see a
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: full pattern. You're like you started racing. You're like, this
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: can't be You's gotta be the one I was thinking
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: about second.
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: And he did that for that exact right there, that moment,
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: like he wanted to like add that extra stress of like.
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: This can't be right or just like lolling the sleep,
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: loll in the sleep first seven or all B and
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: then you're like, okay, he must be just I think
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: gets you just throw a little wrinkle in there and.
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: Imagine that one burnout kid or the kid that didn't study.
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: That's just like, oh fuck it, dude, I'm just gonna
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: do abc D.
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: I don't care. Did you get a hundred back? Imagine
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: that mind fuck of like, oh my god, it worked.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: It's got to think about teachers, yeah, very much. Probably
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: think about the pattern and uh huh as they're curating
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: tests and everything else.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Multiple choice. I'm big multiple choice guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: Don't have me trying to explain shit. I have another
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: hobby shout out. This is from Ess Too Good, Too Good.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: Hi guys, I hope you don't mind me emailing you privately.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: This has been sitting in my heart for a while
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: and I finally decided to put it into words, hopefully
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: without crying on the keyboard too much. Lock In, let's
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: lock in. I have not read this before, but let's
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: lock in. But something like that tells you, yeah, let's
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: lock in. Okay. Uh.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: My husband Brett is a huge fan of for the Dads,
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: And when I say huge, I mean he watches religiously
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: new video out Everything stops, Snacks are prepared, drinks are poured,
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: and we're usually tucked up in bed, ready to watch,
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: followed by a very serious debrief where we solve all
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: the world's parenting problems, or at least talk about them
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: like we could. What started as just a YouTube channel
- 1:35:56Speaker 3: has genuinely become part of our routine in our relationship.
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: Some nights we laugh, some nights we get emotional, and
- 1:36:01Speaker 3: some nights we just sit there nodding like yup, That's
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: exactly how it feels. We get married in Vegas on
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: the twenty first of September. We got married on the
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: twenty first of September in twenty twenty four, and marrying
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: Brett was hands down the best decision I've ever made.
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: Vegas clearly brings good judgment. Occasionally, he works incredibly hard
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: as a welder fabricator to give me, the and the
- 1:36:29Speaker 3: kids the best life he can, and he does it
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: with quiet strength, kindness, and a heart that's bigger than
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: he realizes. He lived in Florida for a year when
- 1:36:38Speaker 3: he was younger, and his love for America has never
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: left him. This year, I surprise him with the trip
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: back to Vegas for our anniversary, so we can make
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: more memories together and one day we hope to return
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: and all the kids, with all the kids and share
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: it with them too. Florida not Vegas. I really just
- 1:36:57Speaker 3: wanted to say thank you. What you do genuinely matters.
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: Your honesty, humor and stories make us feel less alone
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: in the madness of parenting, especially on the harder days.
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: And if Brett PT six ever happened to get a
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: mentioned on one of your videos, it would absolutely make
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: his year in probably mine too. But regardless, thank you
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: for creating something that brings comfort, connection and a lot
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: of laughs into our home.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: Much love from the UK.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Oh that is awesome, just too good. Mt six just
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: too good. Thank you, Thank you, Franking the UK dude.
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: And he's he has a love for America.
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: So I'm guessing he's not American. He lived in Florida
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: for a year.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: Okay, that's what they're saying.
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: And so they take led through the reading, they take
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: some trips to America to reminisce about his time in
- 1:37:49Speaker 4: America and that's why they went to Vegas.
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: And from all their stuff, that's cool, man. Well, hello Brett,
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: you blame game by game by clip by.
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: Hey, Brett goes in a little Australian right there for a.
- 1:38:09Speaker 2: Second, are you going day here? Are you?
- 1:38:15Speaker 4: Brett?
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: Thank you so much for loving our podcast. Yeah uh,
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: and to your wife as well. I love the image
- 1:38:22Speaker 3: of you guys snuggling up in bed and getting some snacks.
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: Dude. Yeah, yeah, God that gets me stoked. And I
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: love the way y'all pronounce aluminum.
- 1:38:34Speaker 9: Alu minim. That's how they say it, alu many minim Yeah, alum.
- 1:38:41Speaker 9: And contra controversy is uh contrifacy contrafacy controversy? Do everything
- 1:38:51Speaker 9: sounds so smart? So bro, that's awesome, Jess how they
- 1:38:55Speaker 9: call everybody c U n T. Yeah that let's normalize that.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: Yay.
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: Con.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: If you're a guy here in the.
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: States that sits there and says to himself, Hey, why
- 1:39:11Speaker 3: can't I just freely say the word con?
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: You're on the right podcast. We fully support you. Botherhood, fatherhood, batherhood.
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: We have fun. We have fun. We have fun. He'll
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: be shout out here from j bird Va on YouTube. Hey, guys,
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: want to start off by saying, I love the podcast.
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: My husband put me on you guys last summer, and
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: I've been hooked ever since. I really just wanted to
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: give you guys a shout out I really just want
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: to give a shout out to my husband Bryce, not
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: only to brag on him, but to show him how
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: much I appreciate him. Last Friday, I was admitted to
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: the hospital with pre eclampsia, oh, pre acclamsia, preaclampsia at
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: thirty one weeks. We were told we would be here
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: until delivery at thirty four weeks. Oh, wow, three weeks.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: You just have to stay in the hospital. What is
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: pre what is that?
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: That was what we searched that one time, because Jill
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: was potentially preaclantic with the gestational diabetes.
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: And oh, okay do with the placenta a pregnancy specific
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: blood pressure disorder occurring after twenty weeks, often containing protein
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: and you'urine oregon day?
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: Oh cow okaying amid to the hospital until yeah, for
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: three weeks? Wow?
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: To make light of this situation. To make light of
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: this situation. He looked at me and said, what would
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: will Compton say? I'm just laughing, like did he actually
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: say that? We both collectively said good, hey, there you go. Unfortunately,
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: unfortunately I started to progressively get worse and the decision
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: was made to deliver our twin girls, Denver and Rory
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: at just thirty one weeks in five days, although premature,
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: our girls are thriving in the nick you. Let's go,
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: Let's go. That's huge. Throughout this time, Bryce has been
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: killing his new role as a dad, but also his
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: role as a partner while caring for me. While caring
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: for me post c section, He's also keeping track of
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: my pumping schedule, washing pump parts. Huge good. He's a
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: killer labeling milk, in delivering it to the nick you
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: for our girls, and so much more. That's Bryce. Let's
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: fucking Bryce, Let's go. From beeting together since ages fourteen
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: and fifteen, I truly could not be more, could not
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: be more proud of the man he has become and
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: the great father I know he'll.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Be shout out Bryce, dude, there's no gabord. Thank you
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: for writing in.
- 1:41:37Speaker 3: Yes, there's nothing better than people went face with adversity,
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: just leaning into it and making the best of a situation.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: And Bryce, you are doing so more than you could
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: ever know for your wife.
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: And that's speaking from somebody that has never experienced anything
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: like that, but just knowing, like everything that she's having
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: to go through, that she's able to sit there and
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: go man, I don't have to question a single thing
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: about Bryce.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got it. That's a good feeling good. PT.
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: Six.

- 1:42:14Speaker 3: very well, that we love very much, and honestly, I'm
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: a bit nervous even talking about it because the King

- 1:42:23Speaker 3: and I will try to give this brand justice because
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: it is truly.

- 1:46:17Speaker 3: was absolutely incredible. And a rule, here's a little dad
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: hack for you. A rule that Jill wants to do
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: when we are at dinner on date nights or at
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: the meal is that we can't.
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: Talk about Scarlet. We got to talk about ourselves.
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: Oh and talk about you know, stuff that's going on,
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: our lives, thoughts, feelings, YadA, YadA. And it was a
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: lot harder said than that, or a lot easier said
- 1:46:45Speaker 3: than done, because it was like, oh my gosh, like
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: every conversation like Scarlet, would they come in and be like.
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: Hey, don't talk about Scarlet.
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: We're talking about us. We're talking about us here. It
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: was very fun but that same thing that Wifey is
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: probably having about Bryce. Jill and I we're just kind
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: of we're just talking about and this would be good
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: for Zachary and Courtney as well. When you're looking for
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: a partner, is that you never have those thoughts of
- 1:47:20Speaker 3: like worry, of like trust of anything like that.
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: Like I truly I don't. I don't know how to
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: explain it.
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: But with Jill, it's just like, Hey, I'm going to
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: a bachelorette party in West Palm Beach, blah blah blah.
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: I have like zero follow up questions with that. Yeah,
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: I'm like, go have fun with your friends.
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: That sounds awesome.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: It is the reason I'm laughing. Is you saying for
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: zach and Courtney, Well, potentially, you know, potentially because they're
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: looking we're looking for love.
- 1:47:51Speaker 2: I'm looking for love. But you've been married now, however
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: long a couple of years. Yeah, coming up on three,
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: got an eight month old Scottie, and you're relating to
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: like married couples that like the topic of kids being
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: in every conversation.
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: So you guys, which I love.
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: By the way, Charli have like stuff she reads or
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: cards or things that like, hey, I saw this, and
- 1:48:13Speaker 2: it's almost like the same challenge of like thinking beyond
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: what our day to day is where it's just surrounded
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: by kids. I love that because it challenges you because
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: you are sometimes you're sitting dead in It's like, Okay,
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: give me a minute to kind of give me a
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: minute to think a little bit.
- 1:48:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: I brought up Scarlett again.
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's such game for couples, married couples, like
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: partners that are just in it. And I just love that.
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: You're like, you know, it could be a good thing
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: for Zach and Courtney.
- 1:48:36Speaker 2: This could be good for Zach and Courtney. I'm just
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: I'm throwing it out, but they might. They might.
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: But the part that's important for them is when you
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: are looking for that partner.
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: One of my favorite qualities in yeah Yeah is like
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: there's just there's just no questions.
- 1:48:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: And I we were laughing because I told Jill, I
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: was like, this is a really poor way of saying it.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: But it's almost like I don't care. That's how much
- 1:48:59Speaker 3: I don't work. Like there's there's no worry there.
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: OK.
- 1:49:02Speaker 6: But what.
- 1:49:05Speaker 3: Like, uh, hey, I'm going to a bachelorette party. Blah
- 1:49:07Speaker 3: blah blah, and it's like it's almost like I don't
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: care about her going to the bachelorette party.
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: You don't care if she hit the shockwaves.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Somebody else was, Oh, well I do, but I'm just
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: day yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm totally teasing because I hate
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: if you did it.
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: I don't care. I don't care, but I'm saying it.
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: It almost feels that way with how much I'm just like,
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: just go have fun and like you're gonna be with
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: your friends, and that's so like it's just such a
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: great like oh my gosh, just like no stress, no
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: weight on your shoulders.
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, you don't feel like you're like
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: a crazy person sitting by your phone or yeahs or
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: just being curious like, oh soa what time did you
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: say you left there? Yeah?
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: When are you getting back?
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: Yeah? When you Oh my gosh, like you said you're
- 1:49:51Speaker 2: gonna text mefore bedtime. It's you said bedtime is gonna
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: be around ten thirty. It's eleven forty five, right now.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: Where's my face hign, yeah face hign me. Yeah.
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, that was my crack A cold one
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: was date night love.
- 1:50:04Speaker 4: That and shoutout.
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: I'll think it's hilarious. You brought up Zach and Courtney.
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like any parents that could be in the
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: monotony and looking for a date night. Little here's a
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: good little convert here's some good conversation challenges we got
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: up with. You know, another thing I just love that
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: you with your partner is just the freedom of not
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: feeling like.
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: Like particularly potentially if we're not doing anything like we
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: said it, hands off, we're just zero pressure, zero pressure,
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: real pressure, and we do need to follow up.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: It's almost like we need.
- 1:50:33Speaker 2: Corney to be like, yeah, next week we're gonna get
- 1:50:39Speaker 2: an email or a DM or something.
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: Something says hey, why not Hey Zach? Yeah, yeah, I'd
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: be cool to get connected with him.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: I'll let the four I'll send my info to the
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: for the dad's guys. For the dad's guys will afford
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: that along to you. And then, like they said, they're gonna,
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: you know, put their hands up there.
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: Done. Yeah.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: If Corny just simply said I'd be interested in connecting
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: with Zach, Yeah, that's it. That's it. What you think of, Dick.
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: My brain goes, dude, hey, we're gonna have our first
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: kid that we sponsored.
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: That's an FTD baby. That's an ft D baby.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: That's an FTD baby right there.
- 1:51:21Speaker 4: Yeah, n I L deal this kid. I mean, yeah,
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: we got something man.
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: We'll sponsor the marriage.
- 1:51:28Speaker 2: Yeah we we we yeah, we have to.
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: We have to be the officiator.
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: We just start this whole new Yeah, we get to
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: we start this whole new movement. And we have baby
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: baby Boomers v dot two, Version two of the next generation.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: Zach's family and Courtney's family. Immediate family can be there.
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: The audience, the guest the invites is just going to
- 1:51:49Speaker 2: be the audience of Papa teams for the dance Papa teams.
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: Oh I love that. I love next week T shirt. Yeah,
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: yeah yeah, and we'll give them a c We'll give
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: him a split red whatever. But yeah, yeah ye. Or
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: did you have a crack of cold one? Sir? Not
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: to throw in your court. I do have a really
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: good uh survival kid, crack a cold one, my crack
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: a cold one. First grille of the season, m the
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: first grill of the year. The other day, it's been
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: beautiful in Nashville. It's great outside today. I want to
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: say it hitting. It's in seventy six today, it's seventy
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: one right now. I saw hot were about to argue whether.
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: As I was getting there's nothing more. What's the weather
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: like today? They're gonna be a highest seventy one in Nashville.
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: That's what I got.
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: Now, And now I got a fact check you. Hey, hey, hi,
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: today is seventy.
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: Two off by one. I'll take that. And those things
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: do change throughout the day. Dude, So maybe he's exactly
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: four of my garments said something else.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do have very quickly time out
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: crack a cold one.
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: Time out time out will has a crack of cold one.
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: Weather's been great outside, first grill of the season. We
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: heat it because we got hey listen, I don't want
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: to flex, but we got a hot tub. Like we
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: got a pool.
- 1:53:20Speaker 2: We got a hot tub. They you know, tell us
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: about your hot tub. I love it. Like the weather
- 1:53:31Speaker 2: was so nice. We were trying to kind of heat
- 1:53:32Speaker 2: the pool, get it going. We couldn't get it. It
- 1:53:34Speaker 2: would take all day long. It would take all day.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: But you turn the spa mode on and it heats
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: up the hot tub. It's a little corner of the
- 1:53:40Speaker 2: pool like it's you know, it's one of those you say, flex,
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: but I can't help but feel that way because you know,
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: not having a pool or a hot tub or anything
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: of that sort's growing up. I got to the one
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: time we thought about getting a hot tub. We thought
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: about getting in college and just putting it on the
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: back deck. But then we realized we fucked up with
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: getting a pool table downstairs because we never used it.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: We couldn't maneuver around it, so we opped it out
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: of the hot tub.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: But just first time having a hot tub, Yeah, to
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: pull like you kind of make on the sims of.
- 1:54:06Speaker 9: Just you know.
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: Oh, also, uh no, go ahead, go ahead, Sorry about
- 1:54:13Speaker 3: the hot time. I totally cut you off.
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: That was my bad.
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: Was giving me a note about time, and I cut
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: off your I cut off your sentence.
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta you know you don't care about my
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: hot tub. I did so good, trust me, this is
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: what I felt you're talking about.
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: No, you don't need to I just lied.
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: Love.
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: We got to enjoy the hot time and it looks
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: we're outside. It was in the seventies. Over the weekend,
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: we had a grill sash, I had a couple of ribbies.
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: Wag you and you caught some flack on the bus,
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: caught some flack on the bus for not having an
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: after picture.
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: I trust your word, though I have seen steaks.
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: That you have cooked.
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: Yeah I know, yeah, I knocked out of the park. Yeah,
- 1:54:57Speaker 1: I know you can cook a steak. That's my crack
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: of hole. We had a great time out saying you
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: know what, listen, I want to talk about the hot
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: time anymore?
- 1:55:03Speaker 2: Okay, done, I'm done. I won't ever mention it again.
- 1:55:06Speaker 4: What about what about the sauna?
- 1:55:11Speaker 5: Go?
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: No.
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: I am very sorry because I Chef was doing a
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: great job of producing and then I cut you off
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: of your story and I thought, abologize.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: Can I say can I?
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: Can I say something? Absolutely? I am I allowed to
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: do this. Chef, You're back there fucking producing a bit.
- 1:55:34Speaker 6: I think we're gonna get a ear piece for SUREM
- 1:55:36Speaker 6: So that way I can just relay stuff like whisper.
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: In that way, we don't have to do the hands sing.
- 1:55:40Speaker 2: Oh that sounds secret agent and fun.
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: You can wait for a time where a moment stops.
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: To be honest, I've been doing this signal for the
- 1:55:47Speaker 6: last ten minutes as we've been telling stories, and suram,
- 1:55:51Speaker 6: I finally made eye contact. I went sure, because we
- 1:55:55Speaker 6: are coming up on an hour I'm guessing yeah, okay,
- 1:56:00Speaker 6: but will I want to hear it.
- 1:56:02Speaker 2: You're gonna say I was gonna say a joke on
- 1:56:03Speaker 2: the podcast. I was gonna work in a joke, go
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: for it, and it was gonna be you know how
- 1:56:09Speaker 2: we do uh And listen, now I'm butchering the joke.
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: Now I'm just gonna say what the joke is gonna be.
- 1:56:12Speaker 2: And I was gonna figure out a way to maneuver
- 1:56:14Speaker 2: it in. But I'm like, who knows because you brought
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: up the steak. Like when I posted about the steak
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: first grill the season, I was going to have what
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: took so long to get that photo up?
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: There we go, Derek's holding up a producer son.
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: Shut up? Will sign?
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but I was gonna say, first grill this season,
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: get to kick off the war, the first grill of
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: the season to kick off the war? Yeah, because I
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: posted on Saturday, you know we bombed our rand. Oh,
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: we can cut that out.
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: We can't cut that. We can always we can't leave
- 1:56:52Speaker 2: it in too, because you know stuff, I'm I love
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: the of the mucket up.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you're having fun, you're having fun.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: But I had another joke and again we can cut
- 1:57:09Speaker 2: this out, okay, okay, because I was wanting to post
- 1:57:12Speaker 2: it and then I was advised not to, And I'm like, oh,
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: you don't know how bad it makes me want to
- 1:57:15Speaker 2: post it? Even who did you read it by? It?
- 1:57:17Speaker 2: Just wondering I'll tell you after the pot, okay. And
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: because I'm just want to run, I'm just like, I'm
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: like laughing to myself. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I know
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: it's ridiculous.
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: And uh, I was gonna work in another joke, like okay,
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: maybe I can put this on Rue somehow.
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: Yeah. I was gonna say, you know how we do uh,
- 1:57:37Speaker 2: you know, we do rosen thorns for dinner. We were
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: going around the table, what's the rose and thorn? And
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: I asked, Rue, sweetheart, what was your rosen thorn today?
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: She said, we bombed o ran She said was a Rue?
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: You can't wait?
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: Was that her rose thorn?
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: Those are for rose? Yeah, sweet, we can't joke about
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: We can't joke about it like that. Thank god you
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: don't have the Internet, because people would people would come
- 1:57:58Speaker 2: out there would get upset for a joke like that. Yeah.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I was teaching her right away. That was
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: a big learning lesson.
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: Moment.
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: No, you're that's I know, your audience type of situation.
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: You could say this in front of the deck side.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: Yeah see, that's a hilarious joke at the montestory though,
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: like I would, I would all yeah, yeah, don't say
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: to school.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: And I for sure won't post about that or make
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: a joke of it, because don't you don't want to
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: get in those walks. Yeah, it's it's a dangerous game
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: out there.
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: Again.
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: Our kids growing up to be old enough to look
- 1:58:28Speaker 3: at our content, just like, dad, what the hell?
- 1:58:33Speaker 2: What the world?
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: No, it's not funny, but it's it's funny.
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah yeah. And also.

- 2:00:31Speaker 2: oh my god, Like.
- 2:00:33Speaker 1: You don't even call back, you just send, like you

- 2:00:37Speaker 2: Are you sure? Because it's a trip. I'm trying to
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: but are you.
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: Sure like we should that it's gonna happen because the
- 2:00:47Speaker 3: Goose numbers are great, Garrett says, everybody's got to limit out. Yeah,
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: I mean we're all getting our limit today. Oh my god,
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: great call in great calling.
- 2:00:57Speaker 2: I hope everything goes well.
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: I hope everything went well. Yes, say safe travels.
- 2:01:03Speaker 3: I hope you got there in time, but also also
- 2:01:06Speaker 3: hope that WiFi had a nice easy delivery.
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you went to speed limit and that
- 2:01:12Speaker 2: you went to speed limit, click it or ticket? What
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: was your rose? You didn't speed you didn't speed Cut
- 2:01:21Speaker 2: from first team is our second voice?
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: Small?
- 2:01:30Speaker 2: Hey boys, I just called. I'm gonna leave a better message.
- 2:01:33Speaker 6: Uh.
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: I'm a dad out of California.
- 2:01:35Speaker 5: I got a ten year old that is uh we
- 2:01:38Speaker 5: just got work, got cut from his first team and
- 2:01:42Speaker 5: uh really good team could go anywhere else and play.
- 2:01:45Speaker 2: But uh, I don't know what to say to the kid.
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: I had no experience of this at all. He's only child.
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: Uh So I'm curious to hear if.
- 2:01:55Speaker 5: You guys have had any stories about parents dealing with
- 2:01:58Speaker 5: defeat or whatever or you want to call it, and
- 2:02:02Speaker 5: how you guys, deal with it what you think the
- 2:02:03Speaker 5: best way is to deal with it. I know there's
- 2:02:05Speaker 5: a lot of kids in club sports now and how
- 2:02:07Speaker 5: cutthroat they are.
- 2:02:08Speaker 2: So I'd love to hear your opinion. Wish me luck.
- 2:02:12Speaker 2: It's gonna be just terrible see it.
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: So the kid hasn't got the news yet, he hasn't
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: got the news.
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: Ten years old. Yeah, club team, I mean you're playing
- 2:02:24Speaker 2: different ball games, yeah, and out in California. I'm sure
- 2:02:29Speaker 2: that there's a lot of competition, Like, there's a lot
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: of really good teams, a lot of athletes. Good.
- 2:02:39Speaker 1: Yeah, first off.
- 2:02:40Speaker 2: Good.
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: Secondly, I never got like cut from a team by
- 2:02:48Speaker 3: one made like the B team and the C team
- 2:02:51Speaker 3: for some sports in middle school, which really sucked.
- 2:02:56Speaker 1: Because everybody wants.
- 2:02:57Speaker 2: To be on the A team. Dude, I don't even
- 2:03:04Speaker 2: know where to begin.
- 2:03:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:03:07Speaker 3: Yeah, because I think the only thing right off the bat,
- 2:03:13Speaker 3: when you're having that conversation with your son of this team,
- 2:03:19Speaker 3: thought that you weren't good enough, and you could probably
- 2:03:22Speaker 3: speak to this better than anybody being able to essentially
- 2:03:26Speaker 3: walk onto.
- 2:03:27Speaker 2: An NFL team not being drafted. I would say, I
- 2:03:34Speaker 2: don't know how to say it, but I would say,
- 2:03:39Speaker 2: sit him down to try and create that mindset that
- 2:03:43Speaker 2: you had when you were going to the NFL to
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: prove yourself.
- 2:03:47Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: Yeah? The difference there is I was an adult, you're
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: an adult. It's a and he's trying to figure out
- 2:03:53Speaker 2: how to communicate with this ten year old when he's
- 2:03:56Speaker 2: mortified of getting cut, you're getting or not making the team. Yeah, Look,
- 2:04:03Speaker 2: this isn't gonna be the first time that you get
- 2:04:06Speaker 2: told no. This isn't gonna be the first time that
- 2:04:09Speaker 2: you you know, I understand you aspire and desire to
- 2:04:15Speaker 2: be on this team, and it's not gonna be the
- 2:04:16Speaker 2: first time a desire gets taken away from you and
- 2:04:19Speaker 2: something kind of you know, outside of your controller where
- 2:04:21Speaker 2: you're not the decision maker.
- 2:04:23Speaker 1: And what a moment too too.
- 2:04:24Speaker 2: If I'm dad, like I'm pulling from if I happen
- 2:04:28Speaker 2: to be the kids child, speaking on my own experience,
- 2:04:32Speaker 2: it would be pulling examples from my journey back in
- 2:04:35Speaker 2: time where whether it's undrafted, getting cut, something bad happening,
- 2:04:39Speaker 2: whether in school, growing up, anything that you can pull
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: from that felt like that was failure that you saw
- 2:04:44Speaker 2: as failure that you struggled with you're like using the
- 2:04:47Speaker 2: example in that storytelling to empathize where your son is
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: probably gonna be at and it's gonna hurt. There's nothing
- 2:04:52Speaker 2: you're gonna do that's just going to take his pain
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: away or any words that you're gonna be said. But
- 2:04:56Speaker 2: you're also being real about this isn't gonna be the
- 2:04:59Speaker 2: first time this is this is gonna happen, buddy, You
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: know what I mean? Like this decision, two things are
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: gonna happen. You can go whenever we get home, you're
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: gonna go to bed to night, and you're gonna go
- 2:05:10Speaker 2: to bed every night, and you're gonna want to stay
- 2:05:12Speaker 2: under the covers. You're gonna want to stay secluded from
- 2:05:15Speaker 2: everybody else and be ashamed and be embarrassed.
- 2:05:17Speaker 1: It's okay to feel those things. But two things are
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: gonna happen.
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: You're either going to allow this moment to define you,
- 2:05:24Speaker 2: or you're going to show up understand where we can
- 2:05:27Speaker 2: get better at if this is something you want to
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: continue doing and something you inspire to do, which I
- 2:05:32Speaker 2: know it is you want to do. But we show
- 2:05:34Speaker 2: up the next day and work on the things from
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: the feedback that we got on why this didn't why
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: this didn't work out, and you just work and you
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: work and work because that is life. That is you know,
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: how great is it that this happened when you're young
- 2:05:50Speaker 2: and not later on or where you're given everything and
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: you've accomplished everything and you've been a studded everything, and
- 2:05:55Speaker 2: then you taste failure for the first time when you
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: are a little bit more developed with your brain, skill set,
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: everything else, to where you feel like it's such a
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: shock and an embarrassing feeling to you. You get to
- 2:06:06Speaker 2: we get to deal with this now when you're young,
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: because it's not going to be the first time. There's
- 2:06:10Speaker 2: nobody that goes through anything without failure or adversity. You
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: get to taste this adversity. Now you're you're wanting to
- 2:06:16Speaker 2: play club level ball, and club level ball there's higher competition.
- 2:06:20Speaker 2: We can go play community league if you want to.
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: We can keep you protected. You can hit the forest,
- 2:06:24Speaker 2: you can hit the three hole, you can play center field.
- 2:06:26Speaker 2: You can do all the things and be a study
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: in a small pond. But if you're wanting to chase
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: the things, there's going to be some realities.
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: That is going to suck. When you do get told no.
- 2:06:35Speaker 2: However, that reality can also be our feedback because I
- 2:06:38Speaker 2: know you want to be great at this, and this
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: is a this is a lesson that either can define
- 2:06:44Speaker 2: you or we can grow and get better from it,
- 2:06:47Speaker 2: because I'm not shying away from want to go out
- 2:06:50Speaker 2: and play catch or work on the things that you're
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: wanting to get better at.
- 2:06:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so whenever you're ready, this is going to suck.
- 2:06:54Speaker 2: There's no way around it. But there's no way around
- 2:06:57Speaker 2: you know this hurting. This should hurt if you care,
- 2:07:00Speaker 2: you love it, you want to be great at it.
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: Find examples to one you are cooking. You're cooking, find
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: examples because I know that there's really good examples out.
- 2:07:12Speaker 3: There of absolute studs. Like I'm almost positive Michael Jordan got.
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: This one as Michael Jordan not making his high school
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: basketball team.
- 2:07:22Speaker 3: Yeah, like, find examples in that sport that he's playing.
- 2:07:26Speaker 3: I'm guessing it's baseball just from context. That sounds like
- 2:07:31Speaker 3: baseball to me. Could be maybe it's soccer, could be soccer. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 2:07:38Speaker 3: probably soccer at baseball. Yeah, either way, I know, as.
- 2:07:41Speaker 2: A dad, I can imagine he's like, ah, this is
- 2:07:44Speaker 2: gonna like and he's like you can hear it in
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: his voice. This is gonna suck because you're seeing your boy,
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: seeing your boy fail you like you're seeing your kids fail.
- 2:07:52Speaker 1: Which we always want to protect our kids. We want
- 2:07:54Speaker 1: them to be great.
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: We we hate seeing them deal with something that they
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: haven't experienced before and knowing what it could do to
- 2:08:00Speaker 2: their psyche. But also, man, what a what a gift
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: and an opportunity and a lesson.
- 2:08:05Speaker 1: To have, right, nownies, it's they're ten.
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they're young. There's so much developed, there's so much
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: to work on. Like that's where it's like a good
- 2:08:14Speaker 2: we need to taste it, need to taste somebody. It
- 2:08:18Speaker 2: is such a blessing.
- 2:08:19Speaker 3: I know they probably sucks to hear that from his
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: end of things, but this is a blessing that this
- 2:08:25Speaker 3: is happening at ten. And this can be a really
- 2:08:28Speaker 3: really cool, defining moment for your son and for yourself.
- 2:08:33Speaker 1: A lot of good can come out of this.
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: Right, your son's work ethic will be completely different than
- 2:08:39Speaker 3: anybody else of his peers for the rest of his
- 2:08:42Speaker 3: life because of this moment.
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know two, as a as an adult,
- 2:08:47Speaker 2: as a dad, as knowing the harsh realities that are
- 2:08:53Speaker 2: factual and true. The sun rises every day and nobody
- 2:08:58Speaker 2: cares about how you feel. And I don't say that
- 2:09:02Speaker 2: to be like aggressive about it. We just know what
- 2:09:05Speaker 2: you mean that We all know as adults that no
- 2:09:07Speaker 2: matter what, everything continues to spin and go and people
- 2:09:11Speaker 2: are out there moving, and it's truly it comes down
- 2:09:14Speaker 2: to you getting out of bed and having a drive,
- 2:09:17Speaker 2: having building momentum, having a purpose for Okay, am I
- 2:09:21Speaker 2: going to allow this failure to define me? Or am
- 2:09:23Speaker 2: I gonna get my shit together? Listen to whatever the
- 2:09:25Speaker 2: feedback was, and not let external noise or anything external
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: effect what my next approach is going to be, because
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: at the end of the day, it's just it's you're
- 2:09:34Speaker 2: receiving data. What am I going to do with this?
- 2:09:37Speaker 2: You're not telling a ten year old that, obviously, but
- 2:09:40Speaker 2: you get to start molding this this little this little
- 2:09:46Speaker 2: human to essentially prepare for that to be life one day,
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: because that is the like the harshest way to just
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: understand the reality of the world.
- 2:09:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the only thing I would add on
- 2:09:58Speaker 4: top of that is if I was in this position,
- 2:10:00Speaker 4: is to attack the original reason why the kid wants
- 2:10:03Speaker 4: to play that sport or be on that team. Is
- 2:10:05Speaker 4: that he's saying, like, there's other teams, but this was
- 2:10:07Speaker 4: the really good one, and there's other situations, but this
- 2:10:10Speaker 4: is the one he wanted. But that doesn't mean that
- 2:10:12Speaker 4: you can't not play the sport, and that doesn't mean
- 2:10:14Speaker 4: there are another opportunities to continue playing that sport. And
- 2:10:16Speaker 4: so as a dad, I don't have kids, I'm not married,
- 2:10:18Speaker 4: but I would think to attack the reason the kid
- 2:10:21Speaker 4: wanted to be on the team. If it's just to
- 2:10:22Speaker 4: play with his buddies, different kind of beasts, but if
- 2:10:24Speaker 4: he just loves the sport and he's like, yeah, I'm
- 2:10:26Speaker 4: just mad I won't get to play, I would just
- 2:10:28Speaker 4: drive home the fact that there are other opportunities and
- 2:10:31Speaker 4: talent is talent, like you'll, you know, you talk about
- 2:10:33Speaker 4: being a walk on in the NFL, like you'll get
- 2:10:35Speaker 4: noticed and you'll get your time to play. And there's
- 2:10:37Speaker 4: nothing wrong with playing on a worst team and being
- 2:10:39Speaker 4: the guy on that team. I guess is how I
- 2:10:41Speaker 4: would hope I treat it something.
- 2:10:43Speaker 1: I love the approach to buddy, why do we play?
- 2:10:46Speaker 1: Why do we play this game? Yes, tell me why
- 2:10:48Speaker 1: you love soccer or baseball?
- 2:10:50Speaker 2: Whatever, gauge his passion for it. Gauge his passion for it.
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: That is a great point. That is a really good point,
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: because yeah, that's honestly well said. You're starting from the wild.
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: Yeah, like they you once you have that base setup
- 2:11:04Speaker 3: of like, oh you you're die hard passionate about this. Okay, well, buddy,
- 2:11:08Speaker 3: this is what we're gonna do to stay in it
- 2:11:10Speaker 3: and like keep moving forward.
- 2:11:12Speaker 2: We got this.
- 2:11:14Speaker 3: Oh you just want to be on there because Bradley's
- 2:11:16Speaker 3: on there and that's your buddy and he lives two
- 2:11:17Speaker 3: blocks away, Like, dude, we.
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: Can find another team. You're gonna you're gonna meet some
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: other Bradleys. Like yeah, mm hmm, I love that question.
- 2:11:28Speaker 2: So you're married it on for the next week because
- 2:11:32Speaker 2: that's yeah, that's a good one. That's a obviously a
- 2:11:34Speaker 2: tough spot for a parent because you're wanting to give
- 2:11:37Speaker 2: you're wanting to approach it the right way. Yeah, and
- 2:11:39Speaker 2: he's just like you're not trying to not validate how
- 2:11:42Speaker 2: my man's feeling, but you're also thinking, like, buddy, this
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: is listen, this is gonna be all good.
- 2:11:47Speaker 1: This is gonna be the first of many times you're
- 2:11:50Speaker 1: going to fail. You know why you're going to continue
- 2:11:52Speaker 1: to fail because you want to be really good at
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: something and you want to put yourself out.
- 2:11:56Speaker 2: There and be vulnerable enough to be great. And with
- 2:11:59Speaker 2: that comes failure and you're just gonna learn. Yeah, you're
- 2:12:03Speaker 2: just gonna learn. Or you can go home and you
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: don't want to do anything and you want to play
- 2:12:07Speaker 2: video games, which I know that's not what you want
- 2:12:10Speaker 2: to do. Yeah, but buddy, this is gonna be the
- 2:12:12Speaker 2: first of many, man, And that is awesome to say.
- 2:12:14Speaker 2: Once you once you know that, like that is going
- 2:12:16Speaker 2: to be the reality. That's when you can just accept
- 2:12:18Speaker 2: because once you can, the sooner you can accept this
- 2:12:21Speaker 2: and understand it and feel it and know that this
- 2:12:23Speaker 2: feeling is not going to go away for the rest
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: of life. The sooner we'll be able to start finding
- 2:12:29Speaker 2: solutions to Hey, so what's going to be your pivot?
- 2:12:32Speaker 2: What are we going to do next? Yeah? And and
- 2:12:35Speaker 2: just like the.
- 2:12:39Speaker 3: Passing of a loved one, or like other huge milestones
- 2:12:42Speaker 3: like universal truths in this world, like a you know,
- 2:12:47Speaker 3: not too early, but at the early stages of life,
- 2:12:50Speaker 3: like him being able to understand a universal truth of
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: you will fail.
- 2:12:55Speaker 2: But but what are you going to do about it?
- 2:12:57Speaker 2: What are you going to learn from that? Ones are
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: going to pass away? How do we deal with that?
- 2:13:03Speaker 3: You know, like I think learning that at a young age.
- 2:13:06Speaker 3: This is a really cool opportunity for this dad.
- 2:13:09Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, do we want time wise? Do we want
- 2:13:12Speaker 2: to jump to emails? Yeah? Yeah, one hundred percent? Were
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: around where we're flirting around actual time? Teffs got work? Well,
- 2:13:22Speaker 2: I have one email, so that works perfect. Masonlio part one.
- 2:13:31Speaker 1: We have pictures for part two. Oh he looks like
- 2:13:33Speaker 1: a stud.
- 2:13:34Speaker 2: What's up? Boys?
- 2:13:34Speaker 1: This is Mason from Florida.
- 2:13:36Speaker 2: My wife and I had the same job cleaning pools,
- 2:13:38Speaker 2: but when she got pregnant, I took over her pool
- 2:13:41Speaker 2: route and still doing my own just so we can
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: keep the same pay while she stays at home.
- 2:13:45Speaker 7: Good.
- 2:13:46Speaker 2: Well, now she's in her nesting stage where that means
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: she wants or do that means she wants to do
- 2:13:51Speaker 2: all kinds of home improvement. Good. Last weekend, after working
- 2:13:55Speaker 2: five double shifts, she's like, I can't stand the way
- 2:13:57Speaker 2: our kitchen ceiling looks to what can you do about it? Well, boys,
- 2:14:03Speaker 2: I took care of it, and I'm building up that
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: shock wave. Come on, here's some pictures for the work done.
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: Oh beautiful ceiling. Oh wow, oh wow.
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: You know what you know, my man Mason gets there,
- 2:14:17Speaker 1: Mason coupons. This is a shock wave and this is
- 2:14:22Speaker 1: a put a bowl on a coopon.
- 2:14:23Speaker 2: Brother, he got the whole wheel at the fair. You
- 2:14:25Speaker 2: know how they have the entire wheel of coupons. Give
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: him the whole damn wheel. Yeah that's unreal. Yeah, okay Mason. Wow,
- 2:14:34Speaker 2: don't I hope Jill does not see that. Daniel rich Uh.
- 2:14:40Speaker 3: This is an email starts with good morning, Papa, team, Sickos,
- 2:14:44Speaker 3: my boy, sharm God. I love you man, go dogs Bunchell, Willy,
- 2:14:50Speaker 3: I am so proud of you. You have officially upgraded
- 2:14:53Speaker 3: to snow apocalypse Willie. So let's get to it about
- 2:14:58Speaker 3: last night. I was fortunate to be in town here
- 2:15:02Speaker 3: in Jacksonville, Florida, in the Neptune Beach area at my house.
- 2:15:06Speaker 1: I travel a lot for work.
- 2:15:08Speaker 3: I got home from Cleveland on Wednesday evening and was
- 2:15:12Speaker 3: planning on spending all Thursday, February twenty six with my boy, Waylan,
- 2:15:16Speaker 3: who is two, while my wife went to work at
- 2:15:20Speaker 3: Wolfson's Children's Hospital. She is a nicku practitioner there Milk
- 2:15:27Speaker 3: Team sixer is a serious boss bitch.
- 2:15:30Speaker 2: That's my little mama.
- 2:15:31Speaker 3: That evening Waitelan went down to sleep at nine forty
- 2:15:35Speaker 3: pm and my wife had just gotten home around nine
- 2:15:38Speaker 3: point fifty pm. We were in the room discussing our
- 2:15:41Speaker 3: day in our upcoming c section on March twelfth for
- 2:15:45Speaker 3: our little baby girl, Joseph Fine. The excitement was apparently
- 2:15:49Speaker 3: too much. While my wife stood up at exactly ten pm,
- 2:15:52Speaker 3: like something out of a movie, her water suddenly broke.
- 2:15:56Speaker 3: Good didn't have bags packed. Good baby flew all over

- 2:17:55Speaker 3: were born to be hockey players, every one of you,
- 2:17:58Speaker 3: and you were meant to be here tonight.
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: This is your time. Their time is done. It's over.

- 2:19:27Speaker 2: happy that most parents miss. They daydream talking to toys,
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: building imaginary worlds, getting lost in their own stories. This
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: is not distraction. That is a brain that feels safe
- 2:19:40Speaker 2: to explore. They disagree with you. I'll say that again.
- 2:19:46Speaker 2: They disagree with you. That is not fair. I do
- 2:19:50Speaker 2: not like it. This is not disrespect, It is trust.
- 2:19:54Speaker 2: They believe your leve will not disappear just because they
- 2:19:57Speaker 2: think differently. They copy you, your tone, your habits, your
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: little phrases. Children imitate the people who feel safe to them.

- 2:20:32Speaker 2: enough to be real instead of hiding their feelings. And
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: the last one. Real happiness is not constant smiling. It
