3:19
Speaker 2: welcome to the show.
3:21
Speaker 4: Good morning.
3:22
Speaker 5: I'm happy to be here.
3:23
Speaker 2: And as always, our pet of the week's picture posted
3:26
Speaker 2: at Dave Allen Radio on Facebook, also the WCS network
3:30
Speaker 2: Facebook page and Dave Allen on x Angie tell us
3:33
Speaker 2: about Promanty.
3:35
Speaker 5: So Premanty I actually arrived to Kseyha yesterday. If you
3:39
Speaker 5: haven't seen her picture yet, definitely go to the Facebook
3:41
Speaker 5: page and check that out. She's a gorgeous calico cat.
3:45
Speaker 5: She's already stayed about two years old and from her
3:48
Speaker 5: personality that we've seen, you know in a day's time,
3:51
Speaker 5: she's very sweet, very docile, so would likely fit into
3:55
Speaker 5: most any home environment.
3:57
Speaker 2: She's a good looking cat. Now, you know, sometimes I
3:59
Speaker 2: have to ask you about the names. You and Ryan
4:01
Speaker 2: have to help me out. But Premanty, I know that's
4:03
Speaker 2: Pittsburgh right there.
4:05
Speaker 5: Yeah. So I got back from Pittsburgh yesterday from a
4:09
Speaker 5: weekend trip, long weekend trip, and I said, you know what,
4:12
Speaker 5: we're doing a Pittsburgh theme. So she is with there's Yinzer,
4:16
Speaker 5: there is Warhol, mister Roger. So there's a whole theme
4:22
Speaker 5: going on with.
4:23
Speaker 2: The one named Dukeine. I think too, right, Yes, Ken,
4:27
Speaker 2: you got to got to get all the pit now anymore.
4:29
Speaker 2: I mean, I can help you with that. I can
4:30
Speaker 2: get the sports stuff if you need, like Bradshaw or
4:32
Speaker 2: anything like that, I can. I can help you with that.
4:34
Speaker 2: But Bremandy is a great looking cat. And again we
4:37
Speaker 2: get to picture post of Dave Allen Radio on Facebook,
4:40
Speaker 2: the WHS network Facebook page and Dave Allen on AX.
4:44
Speaker 2: Now I want to go over a couple other things
4:47
Speaker 2: with you. We all remember Hennessy, the dog that survived
4:51
Speaker 2: the crash on sixty four that tragically took the life
4:54
Speaker 2: of his human and through the power of social media
4:57
Speaker 2: being used for once the right way, able to get
5:01
Speaker 2: Hennessy back with the rest of the family in Iowa,
5:02
Speaker 2: and you've get some stuff posted on your social media.
5:04
Speaker 2: You got a visit from the family, another another visit.
5:08
Speaker 5: We actually did get another visit. They had to come
5:11
Speaker 5: back to Charleston to discuss some things, you know, on
5:15
Speaker 5: the behalf of their loved one that passed away. And
5:18
Speaker 5: they stopped by k C h A to say hi
5:21
Speaker 5: and let us see Hennessy. But they also adopted another
5:25
Speaker 5: family member. They adopted a puppy, a little friend for Hennessy,
5:29
Speaker 5: and they are calling her Charlie to be.
5:32
Speaker 6: Short for Charleston.
5:33
Speaker 2: Now how cool is that? I mean, I mean, you know,
5:37
Speaker 2: trying to make the best out of a bad situation.
5:40
Speaker 2: And again, if I'm sure everybody's familiar with the story,
5:43
Speaker 2: but a few weeks back, there was a horrific tractor
5:46
Speaker 2: trailer accident on I sixty four. Gentleman driving was from Iowa.
5:50
Speaker 2: He had his dog Hennessy with him. He was killed
5:52
Speaker 2: in the crash. Some good Samaritans try, you know, they
5:57
Speaker 2: tried to do what they could for the guy, but
5:59
Speaker 2: it was those two for him. They fought fire and
6:01
Speaker 2: everything risk getting bit to get Hennessy out of the vehicle. No,
6:07
Speaker 2: I mean, you weren't able. I mean, he had tags on,
6:09
Speaker 2: but if I remember correctly, they just wasn't working for
6:12
Speaker 2: some reason. So they were able to put it on
6:15
Speaker 2: social media. And I've been on you know, my big
6:17
Speaker 2: rants against social media here as of late. But this
6:20
Speaker 2: is one time, Angie, when it was used for good
6:22
Speaker 2: and we were able to get Hennessy's family coming in
6:26
Speaker 2: from Iowa. They had to take care of some things
6:27
Speaker 2: sadly with the estate anyway, and they were able to
6:30
Speaker 2: get Hennessy back, and then they had to come back.
6:32
Speaker 2: They bring Hennessy with them and while they're here, they
6:34
Speaker 2: adopt the dog named after Charleston.
6:36
Speaker 4: They call it Charlie.
6:37
Speaker 2: I mean, that's it doesn't get much better than that.
6:40
Speaker 2: Out of a bad situation, oh absolutely.
6:43
Speaker 5: And the a very sad event did take place. It occurred. However,
6:48
Speaker 5: it has given us a wonderful relationship with these people,
6:53
Speaker 5: some of the kindest people we've met, you know, being
6:56
Speaker 5: part of Casey h A. And they also had mentioned
7:00
Speaker 5: that they were so blown away by the kindness of
7:02
Speaker 5: everyone in this area, in the Charleston area and how
7:06
Speaker 5: they have handled things. So they were also disgusting that
7:10
Speaker 5: they possibly would like to move to Charleston, West Virginia,
7:15
Speaker 5: and and you know, just because of how what a
7:18
Speaker 5: strong community we have here, So.
7:20
Speaker 2: We'll we'll have him eat in tutors and pepperoni roles.
7:23
Speaker 2: Before you know it here exactly, we had a text
7:26
Speaker 2: here asking if Hennessy was with them, Yes, Hennessy was
7:28
Speaker 2: with them when they came when they came back, and
7:30
Speaker 2: if so, did he remember everyone at the shelter. He
7:33
Speaker 2: looked pretty happy in the picture he had posted on
7:34
Speaker 2: your Facebook page.
7:36
Speaker 5: Uh, yes, Hennessy. So there is one specific staff member
7:39
Speaker 5: that was taking care of her when she was with us,
7:42
Speaker 5: because she was so scared and shut down, we tried
7:44
Speaker 5: to limit the amount of strangers that she's having to
7:46
Speaker 5: come into contact with daily. And the one person that
7:50
Speaker 5: was mostly taking care of her while she was with us,
7:52
Speaker 5: she immediately remembered, gave her kisses, was so excited to
7:55
Speaker 5: see her. So Hennessy did remember and was in a
8:01
Speaker 5: way excited to be back and see her people.
8:03
Speaker 2: So indeed, how we're looking on the numbers, Angie.
8:06
Speaker 5: Numbers are high as always. We're still we can't seem
8:10
Speaker 5: to get under five hundred animals in our care, which
8:13
Speaker 5: is a watch. So that we are running out of
8:16
Speaker 5: supplies very very quickly. So any type of Purina Channel
8:20
Speaker 5: products are always needed, blankets, tail sheets used is great,
8:24
Speaker 5: and then any type of cleaning supply is also greatly,
8:27
Speaker 5: greatly appreciated.
8:29
Speaker 2: Now you are asking on your Facebook page for someone
8:32
Speaker 2: to donate an iPad to the shelter. Did you have
8:34
Speaker 2: any success with that?
8:36
Speaker 5: Oh? I am blown away by the amount of iPads
8:40
Speaker 5: that people were willing to donate to our shelter to
8:43
Speaker 5: help us with day to day activities that we're doing
8:46
Speaker 5: in the shelter, to make those easier for us. I
8:49
Speaker 5: think we are at I think we're at six iPads.
8:53
Speaker 5: And so now every single department, not just our medical team,
8:56
Speaker 5: every single department has an iPads for their department to
9:00
Speaker 5: help with day to day functions.
9:02
Speaker 6: So that is, I mean beyond what we.
9:03
Speaker 2: Were interest kind of, it's kind of what we do here.
9:06
Speaker 2: What else are you in need of right now? Do
9:07
Speaker 2: you need some more iPads? I will start there.
9:11
Speaker 5: So we we will take donations of iPads. If people
9:14
Speaker 5: are not using them, absolutely we are you know, covered
9:19
Speaker 5: in our areas, but it would be great to give
9:21
Speaker 5: you know, even individual staff members their own iPads as well,
9:24
Speaker 5: so if there are some out there that don't have
9:27
Speaker 5: a home, we would love to give them one. But
9:30
Speaker 5: we are we are covered. If anyone was thinking about
9:33
Speaker 5: going out and buying a brand new one for.
9:35
Speaker 2: Us, but you're always, you're always in need of other things.
9:37
Speaker 2: What's what could you use right now?
9:40
Speaker 5: So, as I was saying, food is the biggest need,
9:43
Speaker 5: Purina chowel products. For dry food, we use any brand
9:46
Speaker 5: of wet food and we go through it very quickly.
9:48
Speaker 5: Both of those things, very very quickly. And any type
9:51
Speaker 5: of cleaning product you can think of, whether it be washing, detergent, paper, towels, gloves,
9:56
Speaker 5: any of that, we will also fly through. And usually
10:00
Speaker 5: uh so, both of those things or all three of
10:03
Speaker 5: those things I suppose are the biggest needs for us.
10:06
Speaker 2: We had a texture and said Walmart has plastic kiddie
10:09
Speaker 2: pools and gung clearance for six bucks if anyone wants
10:12
Speaker 2: to get some and take them up there.
10:14
Speaker 5: Yep, absolutely, we have a little dog bow shaped pools
10:19
Speaker 5: in our playyard and we can always use more because
10:22
Speaker 5: the dogs love the pools during the summertime heats.
10:25
Speaker 2: Who doesn't love the pool I'd like that you bring
10:27
Speaker 2: me a bone shaped pool in here and I'll sit
10:30
Speaker 2: in it now as long as you you know, well,
10:32
Speaker 2: I say, as long as you can bring me some
10:33
Speaker 2: food and drink. Speaking of which, Kegs for Knines coming up.
10:38
Speaker 5: Cakes for Canons is coming up here at the end
10:40
Speaker 5: of August, so it's slowly approaching. Tickets should be available soon,
10:46
Speaker 5: and I am very excited. I know I say that
10:49
Speaker 5: every year or every event we're talking about, but Kegs
10:51
Speaker 5: for Kanons truly is one of my most favorite events
10:54
Speaker 5: that we do, very laid back. You get to drink
10:56
Speaker 5: beer and pet dogs.
10:57
Speaker 2: What I mean, what give you want? You just just
11:00
Speaker 2: described you know, when I win the lottery. Uh, that's
11:03
Speaker 2: gonna that's gonna be my my life. Now. Are we
11:07
Speaker 2: back at Red Carpet again? Or have you liberty to? Okay?
11:10
Speaker 2: I just wanted I didn't want to like ruin anything
11:12
Speaker 2: if it was going to be starting to fosted to.
11:13
Speaker 2: Red Carpet do a great job, and it's a great
11:15
Speaker 2: facility for it the way that it's set up, because
11:18
Speaker 2: you got the you know, you got the patio area
11:22
Speaker 2: out there, tiki bar if you will, and you got indoor,
11:25
Speaker 2: you got outdoor. It's just a great Facilita, plenty of
11:27
Speaker 2: parking on the streets of Charleston Round Elizabeth Street and whatnot.
11:30
Speaker 2: It's just a great place to have it.
11:32
Speaker 5: Oh yeah, we love our friends at Red Carpet.
11:34
Speaker 2: Are you guys out anywhere? This weekend?
11:37
Speaker 5: We will actually be at Dunbar United Methodist Church on
11:41
Speaker 5: Meyer Street. There is going to be a backpack carnival
11:44
Speaker 5: for kids that are going back to school. I'm here soon,
11:47
Speaker 5: so we will be there with some adoptable puppies and
11:51
Speaker 5: from eleven am to two pm, providing it doesn't get
11:54
Speaker 5: too hot. If it does get too hot, we'll have
11:56
Speaker 5: to call it a little early, but we'll be there,
12:00
Speaker 5: you know, helping make the back to school blues a
12:02
Speaker 5: little better.
12:03
Speaker 2: All right, And you appreciated it as always. Have a
12:05
Speaker 2: great week. We'll talk next Friday.
12:07
Speaker 5: Thanks a lot, no problem, see you next Friday.
12:09
Speaker 2: It is Primanty is our pet of the week and beautiful,
12:13
Speaker 2: beautiful cat and it is. It came out of Angie's
12:17
Speaker 2: recent trip to Pittsburgh. It's a local cat. Okay, I'm
12:20
Speaker 2: just saying, not that it matters, but but she named
12:23
Speaker 2: it after the famed Primanti Brothers restaurant chain up there.
12:27
Speaker 2: But Formanty is her cat two years old, spade beautiful cat,
12:32
Speaker 2: up to date on all of her vaccines. I got
12:34
Speaker 2: her picture posted Dave Allen Radio on Facebook, the w
12:37
Speaker 2: CHS network Facebook page as well as at Dave A
12:41
Speaker 2: seventy or Dave Allen on exit. Go check it out.
12:43
Speaker 2: What a great story though, I mean Hennessy returns to
12:47
Speaker 2: West Virginia with her with her family, adopts a dog
12:53
Speaker 2: from from the shelter here in Charles to name the
12:56
Speaker 2: dog Charlie. And now that people are thinking about moving
12:59
Speaker 2: to Western because of the kindness that they were showing
13:01
Speaker 2: people here, that is absolutely cool. Tex says, we need
13:05
Speaker 2: some events like bow Wow bowling or some softball or
13:09
Speaker 2: something like that. I will make sure that Angie knows
13:12
Speaker 2: about it. We do this every Friday morning. It's the

16:41
Speaker 2: learn from them.
16:42
Speaker 12: I would one hundred percent agree animals are the best.
16:45
Speaker 12: But sometimes they hallucinate. Sometimes they hallucinate. Sometimes they see
16:51
Speaker 12: things before their eyes that are not the buggers. No,
16:53
Speaker 12: I don't think his name is strong And yeah, hey,
16:57
Speaker 12: I'm sitting right here.
16:58
Speaker 4: Okay, I can hear you.
16:59
Speaker 2: Whats wrong with you? I mean, I know, I mean,
17:06
Speaker 2: I know. It's the It's the Mountain's third birthday. How
17:08
Speaker 2: about that, dude, if you've already started on the stuff,
17:11
Speaker 2: you know, I mean, uh.
17:14
Speaker 12: Happy, happy, happy, Keep.
17:17
Speaker 2: In mind it's going to be a long day, so
17:20
Speaker 2: keep that in mind.
17:21
Speaker 13: Wait a second, this is not it. We have the

17:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, most of Soder group live on the levee to
17:26
Speaker 2: Night ninety eight seven, A Mountain, wild and wonderful classic rock.
17:28
Speaker 2: Steve Animal Who's batting it invisible objects Here in the studio,
17:32
Speaker 2: Jim Strawn is here, and on the Guarantee Bank hotline,
17:35
Speaker 2: the guy putting it all together. The Tribute zeppelins John Ingram, John,
17:37
Speaker 2: Since you're the one that seems to have some sense here.
17:40
Speaker 2: I'm going to start with you show. Welcome to the show.
17:43
Speaker 6: John, Hey, thanks for having me.
17:45
Speaker 2: Guys, you're missing quite a show in here between Strawn
17:48
Speaker 2: trying to learn how to put on headphones and and
17:51
Speaker 2: uh an animal batting that imaginary object.
17:53
Speaker 13: John rescue us, John rescue us.
18:00
Speaker 2: One percent degree. You know I want to start. John
18:04
Speaker 2: will start with you with a band like Zeppelin and
18:07
Speaker 2: it's a tribute tonight, an extensive catalog. How do you
18:11
Speaker 2: decide which songs you're going to do because you obviously
18:14
Speaker 2: can't do them all, so I mean, you don't want
18:17
Speaker 2: to give away too much. But what goes into that decision?
18:20
Speaker 14: Well, you know, I go into these things with, you know,
18:24
Speaker 14: having some favors of my own that I just want
18:26
Speaker 14: to play for selfish reasons, you know. But then I
18:28
Speaker 14: start talking to all the guests as I'm booking the
18:30
Speaker 14: show and kind of flashing it all out, and I
18:33
Speaker 14: start getting their their ideas of what they want to
18:36
Speaker 14: do some of their favorite songs. Obviously, Robert Plants register
18:41
Speaker 14: is higher than most, you know, he's way up in
18:44
Speaker 14: the stratosphere. So it's trying to find keys that work
18:46
Speaker 14: for people and songs.
18:47
Speaker 6: That work for people's voices, So you know, it's a
18:50
Speaker 6: bit of a It can be a challenge sometimes, but
18:54
Speaker 6: it's part of the fun.
18:55
Speaker 2: I mean, you're right about that, because Robert Plant is like,
18:59
Speaker 2: as I love the way you put that John on
19:00
Speaker 2: another stratosphere. I mean, and not just anybody can you're
19:04
Speaker 2: you and the group that you put together. We'll talk
19:06
Speaker 2: about them a little bit. You're fantastic musicians, but with
19:09
Speaker 2: that voice, not everybody could come in here and hit that.
19:11
Speaker 6: Man. I mean, oh, it's unbelievable. We're gonna give it
19:14
Speaker 6: the old Charleston tries. They say, you know, well.
19:18
Speaker 2: It's gonna be a great night. Tonight starts around six
19:19
Speaker 2: pint thirty. Tell us about Natalie Brook. That's who's Jim?
19:22
Speaker 2: Do you want to weigh in on Natalie Brook?
19:24
Speaker 13: I listened to her a couple of songs this morning.
19:26
Speaker 13: She's fantastic out of Baltimore, got three. She's a rock
19:30
Speaker 13: she's a rock star, but she's got the rocker.
19:32
Speaker 6: She's got some synths sense going on. She's gonna come
19:35
Speaker 6: out with you know she she's just got the look.
19:38
Speaker 6: She's got.
19:39
Speaker 14: She's an incredible virtuosity keyboard player. She'll come out with
19:42
Speaker 14: a key tars. She'll come out with a synthesizer.
19:45
Speaker 6: You know.
19:45
Speaker 14: Her whole band is absolutely ripping. And like Jim said,
19:48
Speaker 14: she can come from Baltimore and they're touring the country
19:50
Speaker 14: and I mean really on the on the rise right now.
19:53
Speaker 15: Man.
19:53
Speaker 13: They describe her amazingly. Explosive is the word that they
19:57
Speaker 13: used to describe her. So she comes out of the
19:58
Speaker 13: gate at six point thirty explosive and it's sixty straight
20:02
Speaker 13: minutes of high energy.
20:03
Speaker 2: So I'm right up my alley. Incredibly explosive.
20:07
Speaker 13: So let us very Hey, hey, John, I was curious too.
20:13
Speaker 13: I know you got is Abby still coming in with
20:15
Speaker 13: you tonight? And how many other guest artists are you
20:16
Speaker 13: going to have with your tribute A band tonight?
20:19
Speaker 1: Yeah?
20:19
Speaker 14: Abby, Brian is coming in from Asheville, North Carolina. She's
20:23
Speaker 14: she'll be our you know, quote unquote headline guest. You know,
20:27
Speaker 14: but you know we'll have Brian Henderson from the band Byzantine.
20:31
Speaker 14: You know it's international, you know, metal band, you signed
20:36
Speaker 14: the international label metal Blade Records, and they're from right
20:38
Speaker 14: here in West Virginia, Charleston to be exact.
20:41
Speaker 6: So that's huge.
20:43
Speaker 14: Brian Henderson is going to be killing tonight.
20:45
Speaker 11: J C.
20:45
Speaker 14: Harless who sings with a band called Friendly Fire, and
20:49
Speaker 14: then Megan Jean from up in Cumberland, Maryland, who is
20:52
Speaker 14: also She did my Bowie tribute a.
20:54
Speaker 6: Few years ago.
20:55
Speaker 14: She's a tremendous voice and when you hear her voice,
20:57
Speaker 14: I mean it's going to be echoing through the valley.
21:00
Speaker 13: Remember her and John? With these folks all over the
21:03
Speaker 13: East Coast, how do you get together and get ready
21:06
Speaker 13: for tonight?
21:08
Speaker 6: Very carefully?
21:09
Speaker 14: We make sure you know, everybody's doing their homework on
21:13
Speaker 14: their own, and that's kind of part of the crazy
21:17
Speaker 14: thing about the show is that we get together and
21:19
Speaker 14: have one giant rehearsal. So we had an eight and
21:22
Speaker 14: a half hour rehearsal on Wednesday, you know.
21:26
Speaker 6: Then I went and.
21:26
Speaker 14: Played Snowshoe and did forty eight forty eight festival yesterday
21:29
Speaker 14: and came in late late last night, and then we'll
21:33
Speaker 14: start it all over today and you know, no rest
21:36
Speaker 14: for the weird.
21:37
Speaker 13: You need to find something to do in your spare time.
21:39
Speaker 14: Yeah, really, well, thinking about maybe coming on with you
21:42
Speaker 14: guys more often?
21:44
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, absolutely.
21:45
Speaker 13: We look forward tonight. You know, it's the third anniversary
21:47

22:13
Speaker 2: John.
22:14
Speaker 1: John.
22:14
Speaker 2: The listeners have heard me do this bit before. But
22:17
Speaker 2: I'll say as my dad used to say about when
22:19
Speaker 2: I tried to sing that boys sings in the key
22:21
Speaker 2: of L, and they'd say, well it sounds like L.

24:06
Speaker 13: We've raised one hundred and thirty three thousand dollars the

24:12
Speaker 13: We basically have volunteers going around telling fifty to fifty chances.
24:15
Speaker 13: We'll do that drawing about nine thirty. But I'm so
24:18
Speaker 13: pleased to announce every week or and every time I
24:20
Speaker 13: get an opportunity and from the stage. We've raised one
24:23
Speaker 13: hundred and thirty three thousand dollars just from folks saying okay,
24:25
Speaker 13: I'll take a couple of tickets, and we help folks

24:32
Speaker 13: all the folks to do that, and all the sponsors

24:42
Speaker 13: you get a bite to eat, get your spirit of beverage.
24:44
Speaker 13: You stay hirated. I heard you talking last segment about
24:46
Speaker 13: hydration is the key, So stay hydrated tonight because John,
24:51
Speaker 13: you were. John's gonna bring a great show beginning at
24:54
Speaker 13: eight and now he's going to get his crew warmed
24:56
Speaker 13: up at six thirty. So sound like a pretty rock
24:59
Speaker 13: and roll, pretty kind of fun.
25:00
Speaker 2: Night, right, Yeah, exactly, John, I gotta hold on, go ahead,
25:03
Speaker 2: stay and shockley.
25:04
Speaker 16: We'll be down there. We have some limited edition We

25:14
Speaker 16: some other courts.
25:15
Speaker 2: We go big when we go out for these publics.
25:16
Speaker 2: It's going to be a big, big, big night all
25:18
Speaker 2: right now.
25:19
Speaker 13: On our birthday today, the third is the birthday, John, John,
25:23
Speaker 13: you want to we've been a happy birthday to the
25:26
Speaker 13: Mountain tonight somehow. If you can't, I know you're tie
25:28
Speaker 13: you on time.
25:30
Speaker 6: We'll sneak. We'll sneak a little happy birthday. We just
25:33
Speaker 6: got to listen real close, my garn skippy. We will John.
25:37
Speaker 2: I want to ask you, and I'll ask the panel
25:39
Speaker 2: here to uh you talking about how you were picking
25:41
Speaker 2: out the songs for the Zeppelin tribute tonight. If if
25:43
Speaker 2: somebody asks you to name your two or three favorite
25:47
Speaker 2: Zeppe maybe not even necessarily to perform, but just as
25:51
Speaker 2: as a listener and a fan, give me two or
25:53
Speaker 2: three Zeppelin songs that are your favorites.
25:55
Speaker 14: I'll tell you this that the album Houses of the
25:58
Speaker 14: Holy was like my Desert Island record since the age
26:02
Speaker 14: of maybe fourteen.
26:05
Speaker 6: You know.
26:05
Speaker 14: It was like when I came home from high school
26:07
Speaker 14: or middle school or whatever I would be, you know,
26:09
Speaker 14: come straight to my room, plug my basin and jam,
26:13
Speaker 14: put my CDs, my compact discs.
26:15
Speaker 6: You guys remember this, and uh.
26:21
Speaker 14: Is that a dirty word these days? And so I
26:24
Speaker 14: would jam and so the Houses of the Holy, I mean,
26:26
Speaker 14: basically top to bottom, it's a perfect album.
26:29
Speaker 6: So we got a lot of cuts from that one tonight.
26:31
Speaker 2: All right, animal, if two or three of your favorites,
26:35
Speaker 2: all of them, well, but I mean there's something that
26:36
Speaker 2: you like better than other. I mean, even as radio people,
26:39
Speaker 2: we have that song that we crank up in the studio.
26:41
Speaker 2: I mean we like all the music we play. But
26:43
Speaker 2: so yeah, CE.
26:45
Speaker 16: Four came out. It came out in this brown paper
26:47
Speaker 16: wrapper thing and in the evening was such a fabulous tune.
26:52
Speaker 16: It's probably one of my favorites for sure.
26:54
Speaker 2: So I mean, I'm gonna go with uh, Living Love
26:59
Speaker 2: and made John. That's one of my favorites, Living Loving Me.
27:02
Speaker 2: Hot Dog is one. You don't hear a lot of
27:05
Speaker 2: his little country vibe. I like hot Dog. I like
27:07
Speaker 2: Misty Mountain, Yes, yes, uh, Misty Mountain hop. I love
27:12
Speaker 2: that one. Uh but I hey, hey, what can I do? Okay,
27:16
Speaker 2: that's that's one of my favorites. But it's so simple.
27:20
Speaker 2: If I had to, if somebody, if aliens came from
27:24
Speaker 2: outer space and they said, what is rock music?
27:27
Speaker 14: Do you know what?
27:27
Speaker 2: I would play him John, I'd play him rock and roll.
27:29
Speaker 2: By that rock and roll is just such a such
27:34
Speaker 2: a simple song. It's got like what like, you know,
27:37
Speaker 2: ten ten words in it or something. I don't know
27:39
Speaker 2: it's but that's to me, that's it. It's rocker. That's
27:43
Speaker 2: that one song for me, having done radio for thirty
27:45
Speaker 2: eight years, that's the one song. When I play it
27:48
Speaker 2: or if I'm listening to the mountain wherever I am,
27:51
Speaker 2: I crank it up. That's the song for me. It's
27:53
Speaker 2: rock and roll. It's simple and straight to the point. John,
27:56
Speaker 2: that would have been me too. I was going to
27:58
Speaker 2: say that all right. I was ready. I was ready
28:02
Speaker 2: with that one. But they did Stairway to Heaven right.
28:04
Speaker 1: Yeah.
28:05
Speaker 13: So when as a high schooler in the junior high
28:08
Speaker 13: guy and they play that last song and he's trying
28:11
Speaker 13: to find a girlfriend and you're scared to watch across
28:13
Speaker 13: the gymnas and flour and then you do it. It's like,
28:16
Speaker 13: this song is long and it's pretty fun and it means.
28:18
Speaker 2: The Stairway to Heaven as your cording songs.
28:21
Speaker 13: Well, I loved it. I mean I thought it was
28:23
Speaker 13: just so neat because I'm not a heavy rocker. But
28:25
Speaker 13: then that was not heavy rock to me.
28:27
Speaker 2: So I was like, well it gets heavy. It starts
28:29
Speaker 2: out not heavy, but it gets there eventually.
28:32
Speaker 13: That was my courting song.
28:33
Speaker 15: Did it.
28:35
Speaker 2: Got a text here? John? I got a text from
28:38
Speaker 2: my guy's an Amos steel band, Real Little Buddies of Mine.
28:41
Speaker 2: Uh from a man Doodle and uh he's so, he said,
28:44
Speaker 2: Doodle says Kashmere talk about Kashmere.
28:47
Speaker 11: John.
28:47
Speaker 14: Oh yeah, Well I just got an angry email from
28:50
Speaker 14: Mike Push and our friend Mike Push, and he said
28:52
Speaker 14: the hot Dog was not on too, it was on
28:55
Speaker 14: in through the aug.
28:56
Speaker 2: Right, correct, He's one wreck. All right, John, I got
29:01
Speaker 2: to know that I'm pushing. I'm sorry. You absolutely the.
29:03
Speaker 13: Most state listeners, right they You can't get anything over
29:06
Speaker 13: on them.
29:06
Speaker 2: By the way, and all right, John, I have a
29:09
Speaker 2: question for you from the text on here, then we'll
29:11
Speaker 2: move on it. So aside from Zeppelin, John, who are
29:13
Speaker 2: some of your all time favorite artists and influencers of
29:16
Speaker 2: all time besides Zeppelin?
29:19
Speaker 6: Man, I'll tell you what I've been.
29:20
Speaker 14: I've been back on the Credence Clearwater Revival Kick Leley.
29:23
Speaker 6: Of course, I'm a big.
29:24
Speaker 14: Jazz head, so I'm you know, I listened to a
29:27
Speaker 14: ton of jazz and but man, lately I just can't
29:31
Speaker 14: get enough of Credence. Man. You know, it's like I
29:34
Speaker 14: feel like maybe they were the American Beatles.
29:36
Speaker 6: I grow so I don't know, that may be a
29:39
Speaker 6: hot and they got.
29:40
Speaker 2: It and they did it all in about three years,
29:44
Speaker 2: you know, because they were only around for about three
29:46
Speaker 2: to four years. I mean, their music lives on forever,
29:48
Speaker 2: but their their their showf life wasn't it's like maybe
29:51

Speaker 2: the machine. Sean tell us the machine.
35:44
Speaker 20: Okay, so it's a twenty twenty five seguae U T six.
35:47
Speaker 20: So it's a five hundred and twenty seven cc U

Speaker 20: TV with the dumb bed. Uh it's uh yeah bed,
35:56
Speaker 20: so it's it's made for your farm. You're hunting your
35:59
Speaker 20: mighty sort of. Yeah, the uh uh got a winch,
36:06
Speaker 20: got alomin wheels, nice little set up, three seater in
36:10
Speaker 20: an actual three seater where people aren't kind of cramped
36:13
Speaker 20: on each other.
36:14
Speaker 5: But uh.
36:16
Speaker 20: This uh but you still you know, they're fun, they're fun.
36:20
Speaker 20: Twelve thousand. That's it's a twelve thousand some dollars unit MSRP,
36:25
Speaker 20: so you.
36:25
Speaker 16: Know, so it's not one of these little jobbers.
36:27
Speaker 20: No, and plus one thousand bucks in cash, thousand bucks
36:30
Speaker 20: and might make it there, Yeah, it might make it there.
36:32
Speaker 2: And if you're coming to live each time back, if
36:35
Speaker 2: you're having to live on the levee, tonight, we're actually
36:37
Speaker 2: gonna have the machine I think there tonight.
36:39
Speaker 4: So yeah, so I'm gonna bring it over.
36:41
Speaker 20: I'll have it there this evening that way, because we're
36:43
Speaker 20: going to do some last chance qualifying there tonight right
36:46
Speaker 20: next to the mountain tent, and then some more last
36:48
Speaker 20: chance qualifying ten to eleven tomorrow before the giveaway at noon.
36:54
Speaker 2: It's uh and and again the thing tomorrow is, I
36:57
Speaker 2: mean we get there early. I mean it's going to
36:59
Speaker 2: be hot, will have water and things like that. As
37:01
Speaker 2: I said, food trucks, uh will be there.
37:04
Speaker 4: Our little grocery store will be over.
37:06
Speaker 2: You're yeah, you're get a little bit of everything there.
37:08
Speaker 2: But we want to make sure that people get there
37:10
Speaker 2: early because it's just a lot of fun. And I
37:12
Speaker 2: mean it's one of the rare events when all of
37:14
Speaker 2: our stations are going to be there. So you're going
37:16
Speaker 2: to have people from the Beat in V one hundred
37:18
Speaker 2: and uh and and k w S and we're all
37:20
Speaker 2: going to be there.
37:20
Speaker 16: And if you haven't been to Trojan Landing Marine and
37:23
Speaker 16: Power Sports right by the Patrick Street bridge, you walk in,
37:26
Speaker 16: there's boats, there's motorcycles, there's all sorts of cool stuff.
37:29
Speaker 16: There's gear, there's you know, presence if.
37:32
Speaker 20: Kids e bikes, Yeah, I mean, you know, e bike
37:34
Speaker 20: stuff for big right now for summer.
37:36
Speaker 4: And they're fun.
37:37
Speaker 16: You have fun stuff in there, and you know, maybe
37:40
Speaker 16: there's somebody that's hard to buy a gift for, you know,
37:42
Speaker 16: so there's really.
37:43
Speaker 2: The merchandise to the merchandise and it is. It's been
37:48
Speaker 2: proven with various machines that a lot of times people
37:52
Speaker 2: like the merchandise and don't even ride the ride the machine.
37:54
Speaker 20: Yeah yeah, I mean we we carry the name brand
37:56
Speaker 20: stuff Alpine Stars and uh just roll Infield's official gear
38:02
Speaker 20: with their name on it.
38:03
Speaker 4: Uh, you know we we do have.
38:05
Speaker 20: I mean, as just sitting there thinking, I mean we've
38:07
Speaker 20: got thousand dollars helmets from Showy, So I mean, you
38:11
Speaker 20: know we don't we we carry some big name brand stuff.
38:15
Speaker 2: Talk about Royal Infield for a moment, because I had
38:17
Speaker 2: you on when you guys introduced that line, and it's
38:19
Speaker 2: a it's a world renown line. It was kind of
38:21
Speaker 2: new to this area. I think you talk about the
38:23
Speaker 2: popularity of Royal Infield.
38:24
Speaker 20: So just from in alone for us, I mean we're
38:28
Speaker 20: the we're the fifth biggest store in our region and
38:31
Speaker 20: we and we go up against stores from Indianapolis, Atlanta, Detroit.
38:35
Speaker 17: Uh.
38:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, what is it that makes those machines so special?
38:38
Speaker 20: It's man, if you know, you walk in and you
38:42
Speaker 20: you're you look at it and you think, man, I'm
38:44
Speaker 20: gonna spend six thousand dollars on this bike.
38:46
Speaker 4: But it's it's a great bike.
38:50
Speaker 20: I mean you you get a you get a really nice,
38:53
Speaker 20: well made bike for six seven thousand dollars.
38:55
Speaker 2: Uh. And I want to go back to the machine
38:57
Speaker 2: we're giving away because when the segue because animal, I
39:01
Speaker 2: think brought up a really good point. I am old
39:03
Speaker 2: enough to remember when I was a kid, had grown up,
39:05
Speaker 2: everybody had a mini bike.
39:06
Speaker 6: That was a thing.
39:07
Speaker 2: Then it was three wheelers, which I think are illegal now,
39:11
Speaker 2: at least at least the way we had them in
39:12
Speaker 2: the seventies and eighties.
39:13
Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you get the forward three wheelers.
39:15
Speaker 2: Now, and then that was just then. It was the
39:17
Speaker 2: then four wheelers were a thing. And now I mean
39:20
Speaker 2: some of these machines, I mean I mean one, one
39:25
Speaker 2: or two of particular, they were bigger than my first apartment.
39:27
Speaker 2: I mean these things are like these things are like
39:29
Speaker 2: one of bagoes. Practice.
39:30
Speaker 20: Well, we have the segue Supervillain in stock. I mean
39:33
Speaker 20: that's two hundred and thirty five horse power. I mean,
39:35
Speaker 20: it's it's a it's a unit. I mean, it's it
39:40
Speaker 20: gets out, it runs, it's super I mean it's huge.
39:43
Speaker 20: I mean it's the size of small pickup trucks. But yeah,
39:47
Speaker 20: you can see you can see all kinds of different
39:49
Speaker 20: things in our show room.
39:51
Speaker 2: All right, well again, uh could just kind of review.
39:54
Speaker 2: We'll be giving this machine away tomorrow plus a thousand
39:56
Speaker 2: bucks in cash and if you come to live on
39:58
Speaker 2: the levee tonight helping us enjoy the music of the
40:01
Speaker 2: led Zeppelin Tribute featuring John Ingram and to celebrate the
40:04
Speaker 2: Mountain's third birthday, Mountain temp will be set up there
40:07
Speaker 2: Shockley Animal and we're all going to be there tonight
40:10
Speaker 2: and you can register or we'll do last chance qualifying
40:13
Speaker 2: there and tomorrow morning. Plus you can actually see the
40:16
Speaker 2: machine tonight that we're talking about. And we've got it
40:18
Speaker 2: by the way, it's posted all over all the stations
40:20
Speaker 2: if you want to take a look at it there
40:22
Speaker 2: and then tomorrow get there, be on the lot at
40:25
Speaker 2: ten am. We'll have you out of there by a
40:27
Speaker 2: little after twelve o'clock or something like that.
40:30
Speaker 6: We got the drawing.
40:31
Speaker 20: Yeah, the drawing. I'll have you out pretty quick if
40:33
Speaker 20: you're the winner. Okay, And it's a.
40:35
Speaker 2: It's a big, big parking lot too, so there's plenty.
40:39
Speaker 20: But you can also park along well Cockle Avenue. I
40:42
Speaker 20: have a lot of people have been events. Yeah, we've
40:44
Speaker 20: we've got people that will park at sport Mark with
40:47
Speaker 20: Corkle Avenue.
40:48
Speaker 4: I mean they'll walk in, you can walk in.
40:50
Speaker 2: Yeah, and all the stations are going to be there.
40:53
Speaker 2: We'll have merchandise to give away. I hear Woody Woods
40:56
Speaker 2: is going to be handling the music tomorrow, so that'll
40:59
Speaker 2: be pretty cool. What are you from? The Beat's going
41:01
Speaker 2: to be the guy there.
41:02
Speaker 20: He's Heather, great energy. Heather got the Uh, she's doing
41:05
Speaker 20: breakfast tomorrow. We're going she's gonna have gravy biscuits, Uh,
41:10
Speaker 20: perfect hash browns. I mean all kinds of stuff. She's
41:14
Speaker 20: gonna have a breakfast menu tomorrow is good stuff. So
41:17
Speaker 20: she's she's excited. I know she was out at the
41:20
Speaker 20: store earlier this morning, already buying and prepping.
41:23
Speaker 2: So give us the address again, I mean everybody should
41:25

44:50
Speaker 2: Somebody said, anybody ever tell you that the guitar riff
44:53
Speaker 2: bumper this is not this one, this is the one
44:55
Speaker 2: before That sounds like the monkey's last train to Clarksville.
44:58
Speaker 2: I never really thought about it. That's actually Molly Hatchett's
45:01
Speaker 2: Gator Country. I had never really thought about it, but
45:04
Speaker 2: I guess it does sound a little bit like that.
45:06
Speaker 2: I guess had another text here. This is an interesting
45:10
Speaker 2: story that there are some EMUs. Ryan EMUs are loose
45:15
Speaker 2: in Charleston, in the eastern area of Charleston. They have
45:20
Speaker 2: been known to walk down Rutledge Road in Campbell's Creek Drive.
45:24
Speaker 2: So there are some EMUs that are are around Charleston.
45:29
Speaker 2: It reminds me of the story. Everything reminds me of
45:31
Speaker 2: the story. Years ago, when I was working at the
45:33
Speaker 2: radio station in Logan, some people had some pet ostriches
45:38
Speaker 2: or ostriche I I guess, I don't know. And they
45:41
Speaker 2: called the station because you know, we did lost pets
45:44
Speaker 2: on the air. And they called the station and they said,
45:47
Speaker 2: our ostridge have got out. Our two ostridges have got
45:52
Speaker 2: out at Mill Creek. And then they proceeded to give
45:55
Speaker 2: us the description of the ostrich. All they weigh about
45:59
Speaker 2: so and so and there this color. And I'm thinking,
46:01
Speaker 2: with all due respect as a pet owner and lover
46:03
Speaker 2: I am, do you really need to give the description
46:07
Speaker 2: of the ostrich? I mean, if you're driving even in Logan.
46:10
Speaker 2: If you're driving around and you see an Ostrich, chances
46:14
Speaker 2: are that's the ostriche that's the one or two. But anyway,
46:19
Speaker 2: be unaware. Be on the loocount for the EMUs. Hey
46:21
Speaker 2: speaking of Logan. Logan Regional Medical Center celebrating their one
46:24

47:14
Speaker 2: She will be back with this on Tuesday. Jeff Jenkins
47:16
Speaker 2: will stop by with the news TJ Meadows as commentary.
47:19
Speaker 2: We're going to continue the information about the flock cameras.
47:22
Speaker 2: Huntington Mayor Patrick Ferrell is going to join us. Of
47:25
Speaker 2: course he is. I don't say not him personally, but
47:29
Speaker 2: the city of Huntington has really been in the spotlight.
47:31
Speaker 2: There are other cities around the state and other municipalities
47:34
Speaker 2: and governmental agencies that have utilized them, but you know,
47:37
Speaker 2: this has really taken off as a Huntington story because
47:40
Speaker 2: they're going to sink a couple of million into these
47:43
Speaker 2: flock cameras there and the other night, Honey, as I
47:46
Speaker 2: referenced earlier, Huntington City Council had a seven hour meeting
47:50
Speaker 2: that ended at about four a m. There were protesters out front,
47:53
Speaker 2: people not wanting these but in the end, Huntington City Council,
47:56
Speaker 2: both Republicans and Democrats in the city Council voted to
48:00
Speaker 2: port the use of flock cameras. And so we're going
48:02
Speaker 2: to talk to the mayor Patrick Ferrell about that on
48:04
Speaker 2: the show. And speaking of which, a little closer to home, yesterday,
48:09
Speaker 2: Putnam County and the Sheriff, Bobby Egleton put out a
48:12
Speaker 2: statement saying they're putting the brakes on their flock cameras.
48:16
Speaker 2: So Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Egleton is going to join
48:19
Speaker 2: me on the show to talk about it. Mark Curtis
48:22
Speaker 2: will Stop Bias he does every Friday with the political commentary.
48:26
Speaker 2: Interested to see Mark's take on the president's speech last night.
48:30
Speaker 2: President spoke nine o'clock last night, only about twenty minutes.
48:33
Speaker 2: Most people thought it would be longer than that. Speaking
48:35
Speaker 2: about election irregularities, if you will, and Mark's going to
48:41
Speaker 2: weigh in on that. Coming up on the show today
48:43
Speaker 2: and for our lunch Spots segment. This is a feature
48:45
Speaker 2: we do every Friday spotlighting some great eateries around the
48:48
Speaker 2: state of West Virginia. Today, we're gonna go to Ravenswood
48:50
Speaker 2: introduce you to a place called the Dog Pound. I
48:53
Speaker 2: have not eaten there, but I'm looking forward to talking
48:55
Speaker 2: to the folks. I think it's the manager we're talking
48:58
Speaker 2: to on the dog Pound in Ravenswood. Coming up on
49:00
Speaker 2: the show, Daniel Woods gets you ready for a busy
49:02
Speaker 2: weekend in sports and of course open line West Virginia
49:05
Speaker 2: Metro News Midday coming up in noon today Again. Amanda
49:08

49:11
Speaker 2: will be back with us on Tuesday. It is brought
49:13
Speaker 2: to you by Selango Law on this show. Monday, former
49:17
Speaker 2: Charleston Mayor Danny Jones will stop by as he does
49:20

49:36
Speaker 2: else to do, as if you know, Live on the
49:39
Speaker 2: Levee celebrating the Mountain is not enough tonight and the
49:42
Speaker 2: music of led Zeppelin, as if the event at Trojan
49:44
Speaker 2: Landy Marina Power Sports tomorrow at ten is not enough.
49:47
Speaker 2: Another one of our stations proving that we're everywhere doing
49:50
Speaker 2: all things for everybody. Superstar Country ninety six to one
49:54
Speaker 2: KWS is going to be live tonight at Shawnee Sports
49:56
Speaker 2: Complex where their movie nights. Dot by and say how
49:59
Speaker 2: to crash. He's a guy you here on Superstar Country
50:02
Speaker 2: afternoons from three to seven. He'll be out there tonight.
50:06
Speaker 2: It's free movie Tropy Landing sponsoring that Quantum Party rentals
50:10
Speaker 2: as well, and the folks at the Shawnee Sports Complex
50:13
Speaker 2: doing a movie tonight, so stop buy it. Not really
50:15
Speaker 2: a set start time, it's just when it gets dark
50:18
Speaker 2: enough to start the movie. Okay, it's it's a dusk
50:20
Speaker 2: as they say with Superstar Country KWS tonight, Tex says Dave,
50:25
Speaker 2: do you guys at the station think you might ever
50:26
Speaker 2: do an event at the shelter like you do for
50:29
Speaker 2: socks and snacks for kids? Maybe have it on a
50:31
Speaker 2: Friday to keep up the theme of the Adopt Me
50:33
Speaker 2: Please put it the week just thought. Not a bad idea,
50:36
Speaker 2: not a bad idea of Chris. We are heavily involved
50:38
Speaker 2: with kegs for Canines and that's coming up at the
50:40
Speaker 2: toward the end of August, and the Mountain is a
50:44
Speaker 2: really really big part of that event over at the
50:46
Speaker 2: Red Carpet Lounge. So I would will certainly entertain any ideas.
50:53
Speaker 2: I will say that, and so kegs for Canine's always
50:56
Speaker 2: a big event. We look forward to that as well.
50:58
Speaker 2: You know, at the end of August, says only Fox
51:00
Speaker 2: and CBS aired the speech last night. Yeah, as far
51:02
Speaker 2: as the networks go, I do believe you are correct
51:05
Speaker 2: on that. And one point, President Trump, I did not
51:08
Speaker 2: watch the speech. Don't read too much into that other
51:11
Speaker 2: than the fact that it's at nine o'clock and I'm
51:14
Speaker 2: usually out by nine o'clock. But I think he did
51:17
Speaker 2: called out a couple of the other networks, NBC and ABC,
51:21
Speaker 2: said that they should have their license revokes for not
51:24
Speaker 2: airing the speech last night. You know, presidential speeches, Wilson
51:28
Speaker 2: talked about this a little bit yesterday aren't nearly the
51:30
Speaker 2: big deal that they used to be, simply because they're
51:32
Speaker 2: available everywhere now. You know, you can watch them on YouTube,
51:36
Speaker 2: you can watch them on all the streaming devices. So
51:38
Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna give them a little I kind
51:41
Speaker 2: of understand that, to be honest with you, because they're
51:43
Speaker 2: just available and the White House has their own pages
51:45
Speaker 2: as well. So all right, we'll get into that a
51:47
Speaker 2: little bit more coming up on Metro News midday today,
51:50
Speaker 2: No Amanda Baron, just me flying the ship solo coming
51:53
Speaker 2: up at noon today. Senior producer Ryan Nicholson, thank you
51:55
Speaker 2: so much. We'll see it live on the Levy tonight
51:57
Speaker 2: featuring the music of Zeppelin, John Ingram Handling all that
52:00
Speaker 2: will see a Trojan landing tomorrow morning at ten am.
52:04
Speaker 2: Happy birthday to our sister station place I call home
52:07
Speaker 2: every Sunday noon to seven ninety eight seven A mouth
52:09
Speaker 2: in wild, a wonderful classic groard. I got a ton
52:11
Speaker 2: of cool pictures posted right now on the Mountain Facebook page.
