- 0:00That's something I want to analyze, which I think is very
- 0:03important. Pascha opens up with these
- 0:06words. Ella de Venima, shidibe, Morcher
- 0:08koi sail. These are the words that
- 0:11Morcheribe has speaks to Albeni sail, Babel Ayaden and the Pasuk
- 0:16mentions locations and gives us very detailed to the address and
- 0:20the location where Michelibe is speaking.
- 0:22Babel Ayaden across the river, Baman Barda in the desert, Ba da
- 0:26Bah and by the Arava MO suf opposite, I'm suf Ben parano Ben
- 0:31Tofa, between these two places, Villavan, vakhatsarot vidi
- 0:36zahav, it gives us detail, like the detail to the location that
- 0:39he's in officially. Now.
- 0:42What is the Book of Divine book? Book of Divine is a book that
- 0:45was really in a certain sense, of course, it's kind of from
- 0:47Hashem, but it's the word of Mushrabeno.
- 0:51So it's unique in that way. And Rashi says his book de Varim
- 0:56is a word for strong, the very strong, the vision and the very
- 1:01Toka hot. This is Moshella been giving
- 1:03Toka. He's rebuking now.
- 1:07He's a couple of little while before he's passing away.
- 1:11He's rebuking now she's the pursuit continues and says this
- 1:15in the 40th year. It's right before they're going
- 1:17in. He's rebuking right before he
- 1:18passes away. So on.
- 1:21Why now? Now, what is the rebuke about
- 1:24and where is the rebuke? So he's rebuking about all the
- 1:28different problems and the things that we talked about in
- 1:30the Mizbar, all the different complaints and sins and problems
- 1:33and issues. He's talking about all of it.
- 1:36But why now, says Rashi Moshera, Beno got a lesson from somebody
- 1:41else and had a rebuke. Who's that?
- 1:43Somebody else? Yakova Vino.
- 1:46Yakova Vino called in his family right before he passed away, and
- 1:51he called in his first three sons, and he gave them all
- 1:55serious strong rebuke, very strong.
- 1:58And he did this all right before he passed away, even though they
- 2:01did these actions years earlier. Why do we wait till now, Akov?
- 2:05And then Moshe follows him. I trust she because Yaakovia
- 2:10knew Melamel shaloh rehan elisa muklimita mamila man Miyakov.
- 2:16Shaloh, Yaakov, I want to tell you I called, Vino stated.
- 2:27Why did I never rebuke you, Louvain?
- 2:30Revent switched around his mother's beds.
- 2:32Why aren't Yakov's wives beds? Why I never rebuke you until
- 2:35now, Quede? Because I was afraid you might
- 2:40leave me, Louvain. If I would have rebuked you any
- 2:48earlier, you would have left me possibly and join a Saabs camp.
- 2:55And there are many reasons why rebuke should not be done before
- 3:03person is very old time for the dying.
- 3:06First of all, you don't want to over rebuke.
- 3:08You don't want to embarrass the person.
- 3:11And so much therefore follow Yakovina's way, where Yakov
- 3:15didn't rebuke until the day he died pretty much.
- 3:18Or she had been the same idea, didn't rebuke until the end.
- 3:21The question is why So as she says, why?
- 3:24Because if you rebuke any earlier, the person will maybe
- 3:27join a different camp, not just a different camp.
- 3:30It's Savv's camp Blue van who's a great man will join is Sav's
- 3:34camp because of hearing rebuke. So the question no more is this
- 3:40why does it matter? Or she says because you don't
- 3:42want to over rebuke. Why does it matter if you do it
- 3:46the end of a life or person does in the middle of the life?
- 3:49What's the difference? And join as Sav's camp.
- 3:52Don't you think it's a bit extreme?
- 3:54New Van was a great man who did we know what he did wrong?
- 3:57It's like listening to it's hardly anything and he's the man
- 4:00he told him he's going to join as.
- 4:02Sav was the the epitome of evil's camp.
- 4:06So in this concept you see something very important and
- 4:09that is people do not like facing and realizing their
- 4:16faults. Nobody out there ever likes
- 4:19admitting he's wrong. Nobody.
- 4:21And if someone stares, their fault in the eye, it's
- 4:23embarrassing and it's something they can't accept.
- 4:28Your doubt is so unique because he was able to accept it.
- 4:31That's what makes you doubt so special.
- 4:32Because he was able to Yoduka, he was able to admit it.
- 4:34It's such an unbelievable strength.
- 4:36Why nobody? I'll give you an example.
- 4:39Let's say Abraba gives a speech to him because he's got a topic.
- 4:43He's bashing a certain topic, whatever it is.
- 4:45I don't know what's going on about sending you this going
- 4:47about eating out, this going on. Every person in the crowd.
- 4:51This is something I know for myself as being a member of the
- 4:54crowd. Every person in the crowd hears
- 4:56that speech. And if it's a bashing, bashing
- 4:59speech, what they do is channel in a way that it makes me feel
- 5:05good. He's bad.
- 5:06The robber is bashing somebody bashing a topic.
- 5:09It makes me somehow feel that I'm good in that topic and
- 5:12everybody else around me is flawed in that area.
- 5:15When he's talking to a specific topic, how does it happen that
- 5:19you somehow feel good? Because the way we channel
- 5:21things is we never naturally are willing to accept fault.
- 5:26We don't like it. It doesn't make it feel
- 5:28comfortable. Yeah.
- 5:29Karvy, you knew this or should have been a knew this.
- 5:32So what they do, they rebuked on the days that they were dying.
- 5:36Why does that help? Because if you rebuke a person
- 5:39and then you're no longer around them, they don't need to face
- 5:43the person who knows their flaws so they know what they did
- 5:46wrong. They can accept that if it's
- 5:48coming from a dying man, but they don't need to stare at that
- 5:50person in the face tomorrow and the next day, the next day and
- 5:53realizing with the embarrassment of what they did wrong.
- 5:56Because nobody likes to face faults.
- 5:59Either no one likes to accept their faults, all right, or no
- 6:02one likes to look at the person who knows their flaws.
- 6:05We don't like that. And therefore, in our minds, we
- 6:08only channel flaws in a way that still make us feel good, in
- 6:12fact, make us feel like we never made a mistake.
- 6:14That's our head. Have you asked people how many
- 6:16mistakes you've made? It takes a long time for them to
- 6:19have hindsight, to look back at a different period of life, to
- 6:23admit their flaws. While we're in this period,
- 6:25while we're in this current state of life, it's very hard
- 6:28for us to say, oh, last week I made a mistake to this guy.
- 6:31I did this wrong. I messed up with that person for
- 6:34not to do so. And it's an embarrassing
- 6:36acceptance that people can handle.
- 6:38Moscherabino learned this lesson from Alcovino.
- 6:41Therefore he only rebuked on the days he was dying because only
- 6:45then can I rebuke and then walk away.
- 6:48So they'll know the truth, they'll know their mistakes and
- 6:50they don't have to stay. They don't have to face me
- 6:51anymore because people do not like to face their flaws, either
- 6:55literally accepting it or looking at the person who knows
- 6:58their flaws. That's one detail in rebuke and
- 7:01other important lesson. The same vain is how does my
- 7:04shape and start off his rebuke. He says all the locations,
- 7:09Bharava Mor suf be parana Bentofa.
- 7:14He lists different locations. Rashid tells us these are all
- 7:18the places that they send and many of these places actually
- 7:21don't exist. They're just hints to the exact
- 7:24sin. So Moshe Albano in his rebuke to
- 7:28a great people during the days he's dying avoiding their
- 7:33Bouchard because they'll never have to face him again.
- 7:36They'll never have to look at the person who knows their flaws
- 7:39to avoid that Bouchard that way, even within.
- 7:41So he doesn't tell them the flaw directly.
- 7:46He doesn't tell them you did this, at least not in the
- 7:49beginning. You did this wrong and you did
- 7:51that wrong because again, people cannot face their faults.
- 7:56People cannot hear. I messed up this way.
- 7:59I messed up that way. They just can't hear it.
- 8:02And the reality is, if that's a true opinion, so at that time
- 8:05and tree our coffee and it's chosen, it's true with us and we
- 8:08try to hear if someone tries to tell us people always a rabbi,
- 8:12tell them off. Tell the people what they did
- 8:14wrong. Try it.
- 8:16It never works. Maybe you have a couple of
- 8:19bullets in your chamber when you do it.
- 8:21If you're perfect idea skill, you get it done once and that's
- 8:25it pretty much. You can't keep doing it.
- 8:28And if you're smarter, you do something else.
- 8:30You learn from Musha Ben to hint it.
- 8:33You love Musha Ben, to not embarrass the people in the
- 8:36process to get the message across without having them face
- 8:41their faults, which means they can look at you the next day and
- 8:43they see someone who's fully accepting something and look at
- 8:46you the next day and they see someone who doesn't really still
- 8:48know their flaws. Somehow you said it.
- 8:51You dropped and you walked away and you did in a hinting measure
- 8:54like what should have been. And there's one more detail in
- 8:57this concept of rebuke. It's very important in my shares
- 9:00words. One of the rebukes that he says
- 9:03is the words diza have was diza have diza have means.
- 9:09It's officially a location, a location of where Moshe Haben is
- 9:13speaking, but we know there's no such place and we know he's
- 9:18hinting to his sin when he mentioned that place.
- 9:21These are referring to the most classic scene with gold, which
- 9:24is why is it called these are sitrashi enough gold.
- 9:33Enough gold means Moshe Haben to turn to Hashem and said God, you
- 9:38gave them too much gold. Why do you think they sent?
- 9:43And we're sure I better said, imagine we did classic Amara.
- 9:46Imagine if you take a young child, a young good looking kid
- 9:50and you dangle over his neck some money and you put him by
- 9:54the the pathway to something inappropriate.
- 9:57What do you expect? It's going to happen.
- 9:59He's a good looking kid. He's got the money, he's got the
- 10:01approach. What do you think is going to
- 10:02happen? Or Sheriff Bennett was getting
- 10:04Benny. He said all these excuses as
- 10:06he's rebuking them. These are of the location of the
- 10:09sin of the golden cast calf. By the way, our biggest sin, the
- 10:13most the sin that we're still reeling from today, a sin that
- 10:17shifts and changes the path of history.
- 10:21Michelle Beno gives been a sale rebuke, but he does so.
- 10:25But the classic excuse, almost borderline blaming Hashem.
- 10:30Why you're rebuking him. You're finally rebuking him.
- 10:32It's the end of the life. I understand you're saying in a
- 10:35hinting way, to protect them, to protect their dignity.
- 10:38Why would you give them an excuse?
- 10:40Why now? I think this is the most, maybe
- 10:43the most important concept in telling someone when they made a
- 10:47mistake. The most important concept is
- 10:49this. Nobody, I'm telling you from
- 10:52being the recipient, nobody ever likes to be, to disappoint.
- 11:00No one ever likes to feel like they really have in themselves a
- 11:04problem. What they like to accept and
- 11:07what they OK accepting is there's a problem.
- 11:09I out there, I might have associated with that problem for
- 11:13a little while, but that's not me.
- 11:17No one likes to hear you have a character trait, you're
- 11:19arrogant, you have a problem, you have to figure it out.
- 11:21No, they like to hear you know you're associating with the
- 11:23wrong friends and it's bringing out the worst on you that they
- 11:26can hear. No one likes to say, you know,
- 11:28you're not keeping Shabbat. It's a disaster.
- 11:29Look at your Shabbat to like to hear, you know, you didn't
- 11:32structure you Shabar properly and therefore it's leading to
- 11:34not the right kind of Shabbat. No one likes to hear you know,
- 11:37you, you, I don't know what you're eating, where you're
- 11:39going. I say, listen, you have a lot of
- 11:41peer pressure and you're being pulled in the wrong direction.
- 11:44How about you figure it out? No one likes to feel like
- 11:46they're a thief. Like because you know, you're
- 11:48very sloppy in business, you're allowing these things to go.
- 11:52I know the industry is a funny industry, so how about you butt
- 11:55up a little bit? I realize if you can think of
- 11:58this, you might be making some serious mistakes.
- 12:00In honesty, every person can be told off or told that they made
- 12:04a mistake, but never when they're told that they
- 12:07themselves are a problem. You can never be the problem.
- 12:10You'll never hear it and said to this child.
- 12:13You'll ignore the person, you'll think he's not talking to you,
- 12:17but you'll walk away. Well, should have been
- 12:19understood this R So you figured it out.
- 12:21It's perfection again. One is no one likes to face
- 12:26their flaws, which means you don't like to face the person
- 12:29who knows your mistakes. So he waited till the days he
- 12:32died like y'all Corvino, so that they hear the message, but the
- 12:38next day they don't have to look at him again.
- 12:40Even more shy Ben who cared about them, protected them,
- 12:42loved them, prayed for them. They don't want to stare at the
- 12:44man who knows that they have a mistake.
- 12:46They don't want to see it. It's embarrassing.
- 12:48There's Bouchard. It's 1/2 or should have been
- 12:53instead, in a hinting way, because again, no one likes to
- 12:57hear outright. You have a problem.
- 12:59And thirdly, even the hint was quoted in an excuse.
- 13:05Why are you giving these people an excuse for making a grave
- 13:08error that shifted the course of history that involved Abu
- 13:11Dazarah? That was considered a very big
- 13:14problem that we're still reeling from till today.
- 13:16We have the Shabab coming. It's because of that all these
- 13:19cinema Sherman speaks about specifically ego and managalim
- 13:23are really the base and the source of the Shabab.
- 13:26So why are you giving him an out?
- 13:29Why are you saying deserve? Why are you talking to God and
- 13:32blaming God at time where you should blame the people?
- 13:35It's the end of your life. You know you're not saying
- 13:38directly anyhow. Why not just turn them in their
- 13:40floors? And the answer is nobody likes
- 13:43to hear that they have a problem.
- 13:45No one and not only one doesn't like to hear it.
- 13:47They won't accept it, they'll either turn away or just ignore
- 13:52it. Unless you have been understood.
- 13:53This let me give it to them in a message that's going to power
- 13:56them forward. And the idea of rebuke in
- 13:59general, the idea of recognizing a flaw is to hear it in a way
- 14:04that's going to push you forward.
- 14:05Being disappointed, being upset, revealing to a person how they
- 14:10have a real problem most times, 9 times out of 10, just leads to
- 14:15more destruction, leads to depression, leads to ignorance,
- 14:19leads to a person having no pathway to grow.
- 14:23Instead, every single thing we do needs to be a guidance to
- 14:27power forward, needs to be a mindset that says you can get
- 14:31out of this. It's not you, it's an issue
- 14:33that's around you. And obviously we all know it's
- 14:36true. Every single fault that we have,
- 14:38we're all good people at our core.
- 14:40It could be our influence, it could be our upbringing, it
- 14:42could be our our community, it could be our family, it could be
- 14:46anything, could be our mindsets unhealthy.
- 14:48All those things are true, not as an excuse, but rather as a
- 14:52way to power forward where you just cut that off, you addressed
- 14:55the problem and you remain the same person going forward,
- 14:59unless you haven't understood this.
- 15:00And so he gave the most maybe strongest 'cause it was a
- 15:05basically dressing down in the last 40 years and it was
- 15:09revealing some real problems. It was very strong, but it was
- 15:13coded in a very careful way where instead of beating a
- 15:16person down with the classic understanding of rebuke as we
- 15:21know it, he built them up. He pushed them forward, He gave
- 15:25them a mindset that's going to get them further in life.
- 15:27And he did so with these three things, not making them face
- 15:31their flaws constantly, not telling them a direct way, and
- 15:35not even blaming them, rather blaming their situation.
- 15:39So they cut off the situation, they address it, and they go
- 15:42forward. That's the mindset, that's the
- 15:43idea, yes.
