- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast. All right, thanks, Sean. Let's go
- 0:03Speaker 1: to Nat and get a hit of celeb news. What's happening?
- 0:06Speaker 2: You know how Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter, North West,
- 0:09Speaker 2: is trying to start a music career? She's been rapping.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Well, if you haven't heard her single before, this is
- 0:16Speaker 2: North Forever.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We have it here. This is her single?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yes. All right.
- 0:34Speaker 1: It's like rock. It's like rock. It's a lot of auto-tune.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It's basically, it's the result.
- 0:40Speaker 1: And the product of nepotism.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 1: She's a nepo, baby.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So she actually released her first six-track EP in May
- 0:46Speaker 2: of this year. But despite the music career and getting
- 0:49Speaker 2: into all that, she just said in a new interview
- 0:52Speaker 2: that she wants to work at Starbucks. Oh.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Which is huge over in the US, obviously, the coffee chain.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Didn't really take off here. There's a few around, but
- 0:59Speaker 1: it's not as big as in America.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Yeah, in America, it's like a part of their way
- 1:03Speaker 2: of life for them. Yeah.
- 1:03Speaker 1: They're like, I'm going to Starbucks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whereas here,
- 1:06Speaker 1: I think because we've got such a snobby coffee culture.
- 1:08Speaker 1: But our coffee is so much better. Yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So she said, I still want to work. I want
- 1:14Speaker 2: to work at Starbucks next year. I think I can
- 1:17Speaker 2: because I'm going to be 14. I want to have
- 1:19Speaker 2: a regular job.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I mean, good on her. But anyone that's had a
- 1:22Speaker 1: regular job like all of us. knows that a regular
- 1:25Speaker 1: job is overrated what was your first job i worked
- 1:28Speaker 1: in a two dollar store.
- 1:30Speaker 2: When you were around that age yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Around 14 yeah 40 did it used to be 49
- 1:33Speaker 1: 49 months you could start working yeah two dollar store
- 1:37Speaker 1: hated it hated retail it does teach.
- 1:39Speaker 2: You good skills though at that age yeah i got
- 1:41Speaker 2: fired from my first job.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Too why'd you get fired i um have i told
- 1:44Speaker 1: you this before not sure They had a stack of
- 1:47Speaker 1: diaries they were selling.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And I went through them and on the
- 1:52Speaker 1: 31st of December, which is New Year's Eve, I think
- 1:55Speaker 1: I wrote, get effing pissed.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And I mean, you would think that most people probably
- 2:00Speaker 2: wouldn't see that for a year.
- 2:01Speaker 1: No, but some dude, some grandpa bought it for his
- 2:04Speaker 1: granddaughter and came in and opened it to the page
- 2:07Speaker 1: and I denied it and they went to the cameras
- 2:09Speaker 1: and whatever.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I was having a laugh.
- 2:11Speaker 2: That's good.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Just have a laugh. I mean, you're buying a $ 2 diary,
- 2:13Speaker 1: you tight ass. Yeah, why couldn't that old man just
- 2:15Speaker 1: have a laugh? I think so. It's quite funny, though.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Whatever. Hey, speaking of music, we've got Taylor Swift, who
- 2:23Speaker 2: had a huge 2012 hit. She's had so many hits,
- 2:25Speaker 2: but remember this one from 2012, I Knew You Were Trouble. Pfft.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I actually love it. I think this is one of
- 2:32Speaker 1: her best. I like that era. Yes, I agree. Whatever
- 2:35Speaker 1: era that is. I don't know. Do we have any Swifties?
- 2:38Speaker 2: The red era.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Oh, that's the red era. You're a red guy. Is
- 2:40Speaker 1: that the one with like Cruel Summer? No, this is
- 2:43Speaker 1: earlier than that. Oh, such a bad Swifty. I mean,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I did go to a concert and leave early because
- 2:47Speaker 1: I was bored, so..
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you said that, which angered a lot of Swifties
- 2:50Speaker 2: who were trying to get tickets and you went and
- 2:52Speaker 2: sat there.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Free tickets. Sat there, didn't sing or dance and then left.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Free premium good tickets, walked out. Aren't you cool? Do
- 3:01Speaker 1: you feel cool? Yeah, and I wrote in a diary,
- 3:03Speaker 1: get pissed.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Anyway, so she's now revealed that the music producers behind
- 3:09Speaker 2: that song actually advised her that it should have been
- 3:12Speaker 2: a dubstep song.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Take a listen.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I wrote this really sad piano ballad. called I Knew
- 3:19Speaker 2: You Were Trouble.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I want to hear that version.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I was really excited to bring it in and I
- 3:24Speaker 2: played them this really, really sad ballad.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And I was like, I think just no drums and
- 3:30Speaker 1: they're like, what if it's dubstep?
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, so we thought we'd try and track down that
- 3:36Speaker 2: dubstep version or a version of it in dubstep to
- 3:39Speaker 2: kind of hear what it would have sounded like. Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 1: We found one. It's no good. I Knew You Were Trouble,
- 3:45Speaker 1: the dubstep version. Here we go. Wait for it. She's
- 3:56Speaker 1: got the piano.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I like it.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Really? Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 1: If you want to hear that in its entirety, call
- 4:25Speaker 1: us on 131065. No, we're not putting that on. But
- 4:28Speaker 1: wasn't dubstep just so of that era?
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yes. Like, I would happily die and never hear dubstep again.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, like even Bieber and all that were doing a
- 4:36Speaker 1: few dubstep songs. I mean, who were the big... It's
- 4:38Speaker 1: like Skrillex was big on dubstep. Skrillex was the dubstep guy. Oh,
- 4:40Speaker 1: I think this is right up your alley.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Just listening to that gave me some flashbacks to music
- 4:44Speaker 1: festivals that I went to in my 20s. Oh, yeah.
- 4:46Speaker 2: In my festival days, dubstep was the..
- 4:49Speaker 1: Stereo Sonic and stuff.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But yes, Skrillex is probably the main person you associate
- 4:54Speaker 2: with that.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Bring it back. We need more dubstep.
- 4:57Speaker 2: You know some music styles, though, you hear it and
- 4:59Speaker 2: you just know, like LMFAO.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Party Rock. Oh, I never want to hear that again.
- 5:03Speaker 2: But you just, you go, that is from that era.
- 5:05Speaker 2: I can just remember the fashion. I can remember, you
- 5:08Speaker 2: know what I mean? That dubstep sound.
- 5:10Speaker 1: It's just so, like, early 2010s. Gangnam Style's another one. Oh,
- 5:15Speaker 1: Gangnam Style. But that's not dubstep. No, no. It's just awful.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Sigh.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Oh, what have we got? We've got Bang... Oh, yeah,
- 5:22Speaker 1: so this was... Bangarang. Oh, I like it. Everyone out
- 5:30Speaker 1: there is going off to this. I hate it. It
- 5:35Speaker 1: makes me think of a time when life was simpler,
- 5:37Speaker 1: you know? You were more an R & B girl.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Though, right?
- 5:40Speaker 1: I was.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I didn't mind a bit of dance, but I was
- 5:43Speaker 2: more like Calvin Harris or like Show Me Love, that
- 5:48Speaker 2: kind of dance, yeah.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Soft dance, yeah.
