- 0:09Speaker 2: The World's original podcast. Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered!
- 0:20Speaker 3: But in all seriousness, people like me and people like
- 0:22Speaker 3: Barth's you know, real sickos.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Story that you posted I think it was yesterday on
- 0:27Speaker 4: Ted Harper are nutritionist?
- 0:29Speaker 2: You Thank you.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Ted's been a guy who's been with the team for
- 0:32Speaker 1: like twenty years.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Now, fourteen fourteen.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Thanks for reading Awaken.
- 0:36Speaker 2: When do you work for me? Absolutely worked for them.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it sure has.
- 0:40Speaker 4: You have to buy a whole new wardrobe. We get
- 0:42Speaker 4: to the hair, you'll be like in your forties again.
- 0:45Speaker 4: You bet Mosses is still on the team because we
- 0:47Speaker 4: could have.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Oh, Randy, you came and you game whatever it are?
- 0:51Speaker 2: You crying? Was I crying here?
- 0:55Speaker 6: I mean I enjoyed the Barry Marlow concert. No, it
- 0:58Speaker 6: was not crying.
- 0:59Speaker 2: You couldnt me to that. I'm telling you.
- 1:03Speaker 5: It was a lot of fun to goo dolls. I
- 1:04Speaker 5: liked that kind of yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I mean like Creede was a little cooler, like if
- 1:07Speaker 3: you were you know, that was a little bit better. Yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 3: so bad Gods.
- 1:16Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:20Speaker 7: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com.
- 1:25Speaker 4: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:29Speaker 4: at Gillette Stadium, and we're here to talk about yesterday's
- 1:34Speaker 4: OTA practice that we had access to.
- 1:37Speaker 1: So we'll wrap all that up and talk about who
- 1:40Speaker 1: did what.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Good news everybody.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Drake May's back. Drake May's back. Have no fear. We
- 1:46Speaker 1: got our quarterback. Don't worry about it.
- 1:50Speaker 4: So we'll talk about everything that the guys saw yesterday.
- 1:53Speaker 4: It's Deuce, it's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, it's Matt
- 1:56Speaker 4: in the booth. What else we got? We got David
- 1:59Speaker 4: Andrews retired yesterday. We'll talk about that day.
- 2:02Speaker 6: Yeah, emotional assistant coaches available, Yeah, David Andrews.
- 2:08Speaker 4: It was a busy Monday here at Gillette Stadium especially for June.
- 2:12Speaker 4: And today it's Tuesday. The players are still out there.
- 2:15Speaker 4: We're not just I'm walking out getting ready. Players are
- 2:18Speaker 4: out there. So they're still practicing. And next week mini
- 2:22Speaker 4: camp mandatory Mini camp. I should say that means Paul I.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Hope him Monday.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I know I'm only kidding, all right, So let's get
- 2:31Speaker 1: right into it.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yesterday the practice much better offensively correct.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, some big plays.
- 2:40Speaker 8: Kaishan Boudi on the sideline was a nice one, A
- 2:43Speaker 8: little fade to Remandre so Drake look looks sharper.
- 2:46Speaker 2: I don't think it was.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Why do you think that is?
- 2:49Speaker 8: I don't know. I mean you could speculate that they're
- 2:51Speaker 8: starting to build off of things. And Josh said before
- 2:54Speaker 8: practice a lot of things were doing on here is
- 2:55Speaker 8: the first time we've ever done it, so maybe they're
- 2:58Speaker 8: building on it. I don't know exactly why, but it
- 3:00Speaker 8: looked a little cleaner. I'm not going to overreact when
- 3:02Speaker 8: he had a bunch of interceptions. I'm not going to overreact.
- 3:04Speaker 8: But he looks like he's progressing within the offense and
- 3:06Speaker 8: that's a good sign.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yep.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree with all that. I think there's
- 3:10Speaker 3: some context probably to why this practice might have been
- 3:13Speaker 3: a little bit better. No Carlton Davis, no Marcus Jones
- 3:16Speaker 3: out there on the defensive side. Those guys weren't there,
- 3:18Speaker 3: so if he wanted to be, you know, Debbie downer
- 3:21Speaker 3: about it, But I was really positive took away a
- 3:24Speaker 3: lot of positives from what we saw from him yesterday.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I just thought the offense was more in a rhythm.
- 3:30Speaker 3: You know, there were the timing and the rhythm of it,
- 3:31Speaker 3: which is really what you're looking for this time of year.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Was the pass rush a little bit more subdued. I
- 3:36Speaker 4: know they're not in pads, but like people in his face.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I can I considered that angle. But then there was
- 3:42Speaker 3: other times where I thought they might have been a
- 3:44Speaker 3: couple of sacks as well. So there was one in particular,
- 3:48Speaker 3: accus the completion. Yeah, Kean White got in there on
- 3:51Speaker 3: a completion.
- 3:52Speaker 2: That was the one I thought he did. He did
- 3:53Speaker 2: the old I gotcha.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah, And uh so, I don't know, maybe a little
- 3:57Speaker 3: bit of that as well, But I I don't also
- 4:01Speaker 3: put zero in the fact that they said they were
- 4:04Speaker 3: doing a bunch of new stuff, and when you go
- 4:06Speaker 3: up against the same defense practice after practice, maybe the
- 4:10Speaker 3: defense was starting to get an idea of what the
- 4:13Speaker 3: offense was doing and what some of those bass plays were.
- 4:15Speaker 3: So then yesterday when they put in some new plays,
- 4:19Speaker 3: the defense might not have been as you know, up
- 4:23Speaker 3: to it. And that's that's the goal, Like you hope
- 4:25Speaker 3: you go into games and the defense doesn't know what
- 4:27Speaker 3: plays you're running, so hopefully that will that will come
- 4:30Speaker 3: to fruition. But do said it, you know, the throat
- 4:33Speaker 3: of booty. Thought there was a couple of nice in
- 4:35Speaker 3: cuts from Drake as well, and then the wheel to
- 4:38Speaker 3: Remandre was kind of the cherryot best player the three practices, Yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 3: highlight of the practice, you know, off platform wheel row that. Yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 3: it looked like Drake, vintage Drake. You know.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I was out there for a little bit and I
- 4:51Speaker 4: didn't see any of the eleven on eleven, but I
- 4:54Speaker 4: did see Stefan Diggs in the drills, and he does
- 4:56Speaker 4: not look like a guy who's coming off in ACL No.
- 4:59Speaker 4: I mean, he looks as fast as any receiver out there.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I said to Paul, I was like, so this is
- 5:03Speaker 2: what it looks like. Yeah, I do think he looked
- 5:06Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 5:07Speaker 6: You could definitely tell though, I mean if you watch
- 5:09Speaker 6: the like watching the whole.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Practice, it's definitely smaller.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Well, I know he didn't participate, so he did individual drills,
- 5:15Speaker 6: he did wide receiver drills, he did some walk through stuff,
- 5:18Speaker 6: eleven on eleven walk through stuff. But then when they
- 5:20Speaker 6: went to regular eleven's he went on the other field
- 5:22Speaker 6: actually with Jalen Polk and they continue.
- 5:25Speaker 2: To run routes as they're both working back from it.
- 5:27Speaker 6: You could tell like sort of I thought in between
- 5:31Speaker 6: when he would sort of you know, kind of like
- 5:33Speaker 6: readjust that. But no, no, he had like some small
- 5:39Speaker 6: little thing, but it was not a brace. I thought
- 5:43Speaker 6: he looked fantastic in terms of like straight line speed cutting,
- 5:47Speaker 6: you know, you know. But I mean he's like seven
- 5:49Speaker 6: months removed at this point, so I think it was
- 5:53Speaker 6: a positive sign. I mean, it was a great sign
- 5:55Speaker 6: that he was out there. Let's say, you know, state
- 5:58Speaker 6: the obvious. But yeah, I thought I thought he looked
- 6:00Speaker 6: pretty good.
- 6:01Speaker 8: You see some leadership, I think working with some of
- 6:03Speaker 8: the younger guys about knocking hands away.
- 6:06Speaker 1: This is what we heard from Houston.
- 6:08Speaker 6: He's a route runner too, Like he's he's a good technician,
- 6:12Speaker 6: and I think that'll be good for some of these
- 6:13Speaker 6: younger even rusty.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You can tell how smooth he is just him. Mike
- 6:17Speaker 2: was like, so that's what it's supposed to talk about.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I was excited too. I I just I can't help
- 6:24Speaker 3: but be excited about about a player like that and
- 6:27Speaker 3: adding a receiver like that that we've all been clamoring
- 6:29Speaker 3: for to see them have a star receiver, and they
- 6:31Speaker 3: have one.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Remember that.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not putting him in the Hall of Fame,
- 6:34Speaker 4: but the year that Randy Moss came that summer, like,
- 6:37Speaker 4: oh that's different.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I know we're there
- 6:42Speaker 3: quite yeah with Diggs, but he looked explosive to me.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Look quick, you know, look the agile look like Stefan Diggs.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I think one of the main things that stood out
- 6:50Speaker 3: to me too, was just how confident he is on
- 6:53Speaker 3: the practice field.
- 6:54Speaker 2: And you when you get used to.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Watching practice and it's a lot of younger receivers or
- 6:58Speaker 3: rookie receivers, recent draft picks, things like that, they don't
- 7:02Speaker 3: have that swagger of an alpha wide receiver like Diggs had.
- 7:07Speaker 3: And he was out there and he was, you know,
- 7:10Speaker 3: kind of being a number one receiver, right. He's carrying
- 7:14Speaker 3: himself that way and and acting that way, and so
- 7:17Speaker 3: that was cool to see us.
- 7:18Speaker 4: So, based on what we saw, is there any chance
- 7:20Speaker 4: he doesn't start the season with pup.
- 7:23Speaker 8: It looks less to me than we would have coming
- 7:26Speaker 8: into the coming off the injury. I mean, Wes Walker
- 7:28Speaker 8: did it, so I don't think it's unprecedented for a
- 7:30Speaker 8: receiver will come back.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And Wes Walker's got injured a lot later than Yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 2: it was late in the season, so yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 6: I think it's individual case by case basis. My guess
- 7:40Speaker 6: is he'll be ready to play in the opener. It'll
- 7:42Speaker 6: be how much work did they feel like he needs
- 7:45Speaker 6: to do, you know, because I mean I think Kendrick
- 7:48Speaker 6: Bourne probably physically was ready to play at the start
- 7:50Speaker 6: of the year, but they didn't think that he was
- 7:53Speaker 6: ready like football wise, you know, so they decided, you know,
- 7:56Speaker 6: with the numbers.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Well, how do you feel about that, Paul, Like, I
- 7:59Speaker 2: feel like, I think if he's.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Physically, if he passes the physical and he's clear for contact,
- 8:06Speaker 6: he should be ready to go Week one.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I think with a player like that, and I
- 8:10Speaker 3: know he's a little bit further along in his career,
- 8:12Speaker 3: but he's Stefan Diggs like, if.
- 8:15Speaker 2: He's ready to go, Like that's why I feel he's
- 8:18Speaker 2: out there.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Like, I don't know, disrespect whatsoever to Kendrick Bourne, but
- 8:22Speaker 3: we're talking about a perennial Pro Bowl receiver here.
- 8:25Speaker 2: When he's right, and.
- 8:26Speaker 6: The difference between Kendrick Bourne and to Mario Douglas and
- 8:30Speaker 6: you know, Kaysehan booty isn't that great as opposed to
- 8:32Speaker 6: Stefan Diggs.
- 8:33Speaker 2: In g Yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And I even though you know, I think Bourne was
- 8:37Speaker 3: maybe one hundred percent healthy last year. You know, he
- 8:40Speaker 3: talked about his conditioning and stuff was not he was
- 8:43Speaker 3: ready to being ready for week one of last year.
- 8:47Speaker 3: We didn't see Bourne do any of the stuff we
- 8:49Speaker 3: saw Stefan Diggs do yesterday in training camp last year.
- 8:52Speaker 3: You know, he was way behind and not to again
- 8:55Speaker 3: I'm not picking up and we didn't see it, but
- 8:58Speaker 3: he was doing it.
- 8:59Speaker 6: I can't remember every day he was out the video
- 9:01Speaker 6: and he would go down you know, in the other
- 9:03Speaker 6: field he would go win the bubble. Yeah, we didn't
- 9:05Speaker 6: see it though. To Evan's port, well, he was striking
- 9:08Speaker 6: to see Diggs yesterday actually right in front of us.
- 9:11Speaker 3: And like going through walkthroughs, which tells me that they
- 9:14Speaker 3: think that he has a chance right to be ready early.
- 9:17Speaker 2: So I didn't agree.
- 9:20Speaker 3: I think it was miles ahead of where Kendrick Bourne was.
- 9:23Speaker 3: And their injuries happened at the similar time of the
- 9:25Speaker 3: season as well, you know, both in October, so I
- 9:29Speaker 3: think that, you know, just comparatively speaking, I think he
- 9:31Speaker 3: was pretty far ahead.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Anyone want to give a rookie report, particularly the top
- 9:35Speaker 4: three picks.
- 9:36Speaker 8: Sure, I mean I think Bill Campbell looks looks pretty good.
- 9:40Speaker 8: I mean he looks out there, he moves really well.
- 9:42Speaker 8: We knew that hard to evaluate. Offensive lineman Henderson maybe
- 9:45Speaker 8: my favorite player just to watch touch the ball in general,
- 9:48Speaker 8: even when no one's around him, just because you can
- 9:50Speaker 8: just see that he's like a souped up sports car
- 9:53Speaker 8: rating waiting to explode.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Uh and and Kyle Williams. I thought was we maybe
- 9:58Speaker 2: didn't quite see as much of him yesterday, and I
- 10:00Speaker 2: just point to Fton Chisholm, who I thought it was interesting.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I know, there's a lot of about him.
- 10:04Speaker 8: He's hitting reps with you know, with with top groups,
- 10:07Speaker 8: and you know you just see who they kind of
- 10:08Speaker 8: meander with watch groups. So I went into this practice
- 10:12Speaker 8: and I got to see it with my own eyes
- 10:13Speaker 8: to see this Chisholm kid. He was really productive yesterday,
- 10:16Speaker 8: caught a lot of balls no matter who he was
- 10:17Speaker 8: playing with.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So I think that there's there's he's gonna be in
- 10:20Speaker 2: the mix for competition. Yeah, I think the number going
- 10:22Speaker 2: around right now, as you know, I'm pulling back on that,
- 10:24Speaker 2: but that's I would imagine.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Seven catches yesterday and practice and.
- 10:29Speaker 2: For twelve yards getting I'll stop.
- 10:31Speaker 3: It, getting some reps with Drake too, So like this
- 10:34Speaker 3: wasn't just.
- 10:34Speaker 4: So one of them was from Drake, So clearly they
- 10:36Speaker 4: want to see what he can do.
- 10:38Speaker 6: Yeah, and that's what I think. The significant part is
- 10:39Speaker 6: what Mike touched up. He was with Douglas and Born
- 10:43Speaker 6: and you know, uh then Douglas and Booty and Kyle Williams.
- 10:48Speaker 6: Now it was probably just like one of those days
- 10:50Speaker 6: we're going to cycle these guys out. Kyle Williams was
- 10:53Speaker 6: coming in a little bit later. Now, I think Kyle
- 10:55Speaker 6: Williams does look good, so it's not like he's not,
- 10:59Speaker 6: you know, doing what he's supposed to be doing.
- 11:00Speaker 2: He's losing his reps.
- 11:02Speaker 6: I think they probably feel like Chisholm is earning some
- 11:05Speaker 6: similar looks and they want to see him with some
- 11:06Speaker 6: better players.
- 11:07Speaker 8: Well, one more point I would just make on the
- 11:08Speaker 8: wide receivers is they're very different drills this year, very
- 11:13Speaker 8: different from what we've seen in the past of wide
- 11:15Speaker 8: receiver group work.
- 11:16Speaker 2: When they're doing positional drills. There's a lot of speed stuff.
- 11:19Speaker 8: There was a drill yesterday where they were almost running
- 11:21Speaker 8: like a zigzag together at the same time. Really gives
- 11:24Speaker 8: you a chance to compare how the different receivers move.
- 11:28Speaker 8: There's a lot of generally drills where guys are getting
- 11:30Speaker 8: up to full speed, so we're seeing things that you know,
- 11:33Speaker 8: Mayo to Belichick, a lot of carry over similar wide
- 11:36Speaker 8: receiver warm up kind of drills. It's totally different. Now
- 11:39Speaker 8: there are the way they're working these guys. You know,
- 11:41Speaker 8: I don't know if it'll be more productive, but it's
- 11:43Speaker 8: a whole new So what makes it different. I think
- 11:46Speaker 8: just the movement, Like there's a lot more moving fast
- 11:49Speaker 8: and you.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Know, you see things like catching a ball.
- 11:52Speaker 8: You have a pad in your arms and you're trying
- 11:54Speaker 8: to catch a ball like that, or they have a
- 11:56Speaker 8: bunch of dummies lined up and you have to catch
- 11:59Speaker 8: in between.
- 11:59Speaker 2: You know, they're traffic and contesta like working kind of stuff.
- 12:03Speaker 8: But like that drill stood out to me yesterday with
- 12:05Speaker 8: a warm up drill where it's full speed, short area,
- 12:08Speaker 8: you know, cut, cut, cut, and I think, as Evan said,
- 12:11Speaker 8: that's what was impressive to see digs do that because
- 12:13Speaker 8: if you're on an e C L that was WONDERL
- 12:15Speaker 8: where I'm like, this is tight quarters. This is a
- 12:17Speaker 8: lot of cutting. And he seemed to be ripping right
- 12:19Speaker 8: through that drill, no problem. So I really like those drills.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Who do you think is the person behind that?
- 12:25Speaker 1: Is that Vrabel? Is that McDaniels, Is that the wide
- 12:27Speaker 1: receiver code the downing? You know?
- 12:30Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't think we saw them on Josh.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Is because we need these drills because of the type
- 12:34Speaker 4: of offense that we're gonna run.
- 12:36Speaker 6: I think there might even be some of the other guys,
- 12:38Speaker 6: like the behind the scenes guys. And I'm sorry I
- 12:40Speaker 6: don't know all the names, but like Riley lark in
- 12:43Speaker 6: those like like like, are there any sort of exercise guy,
- 12:47Speaker 6: you know, like that a program? Yeah, not strength and condition.
- 12:51Speaker 6: I know Jeron Mayo is that you know still here?
- 12:52Speaker 3: But yes, so Durmeo is still here. But Rabel High
- 13:00Speaker 3: his guy from Tennessee to come here. Who's wonder if
- 13:03Speaker 3: like director of sports performance. Yeah that's it, yep, thank you,
- 13:08Speaker 3: And so he was.
- 13:13Speaker 2: He does.
- 13:15Speaker 3: It sounds like he's more into like the sports science,
- 13:19Speaker 3: like actually looking at the data and looking at the
- 13:21Speaker 3: numbers of of that type of thing. And one of
- 13:23Speaker 3: the drills that they were doing, they were holding a
- 13:25Speaker 3: medicine ball and then throwing it and like that's to
- 13:30Speaker 3: you know, get the resistance off the line of scrimmage
- 13:33Speaker 3: from the release, to like teach explosiveness out of your
- 13:37Speaker 3: stance with the release. And then they're almost like doing
- 13:40Speaker 3: like a three cone drill after that, the way that
- 13:42Speaker 3: they were cutting off of it, So you know that
- 13:45Speaker 3: that drill was cool. And they had like one guy
- 13:47Speaker 3: was going here and then the next guy was right
- 13:49Speaker 3: next to him, and so the guy behind was trying
- 13:51Speaker 3: to catch the guy in front of him. It was
- 13:54Speaker 3: like a little almost like a mini race.
- 13:56Speaker 6: So that's one thing that stood out to me, Mike
- 13:58Speaker 6: is I felt like some of these things were set
- 14:00Speaker 6: up to not just do the sports science part of it,
- 14:03Speaker 6: but it was also.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Creating a little competition.
- 14:05Speaker 6: So Evan just describes one with the medicine ball, which
- 14:08Speaker 6: obviously you're getting off the line off press coverage, and
- 14:11Speaker 6: then you do the three condril. Well those were going
- 14:13Speaker 6: on side by side, so there was two guys going
- 14:16Speaker 6: against each other and I'm sorry, but you're going to
- 14:18Speaker 6: compete in that case, it's right. You don't want to
- 14:20Speaker 6: be the one that Evan was talking about with a
- 14:22Speaker 6: guy trailing. You want to make sure you're not getting caught.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Like I think that they were setting up some stuff
- 14:26Speaker 6: that is obviously helping in terms of fitness and physicality
- 14:30Speaker 6: and all the things that go into the drill, while
- 14:33Speaker 6: also creating a little I.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Noticed petition even in some of the other drills where
- 14:37Speaker 4: you have two guys they started the line, they come up,
- 14:41Speaker 4: and then they cut, and then they run down the sideline.
- 14:43Speaker 1: It was always two at a time. That's a good observation.
- 14:46Speaker 6: There's something like mirroring drills where you know a guy's
- 14:49Speaker 6: trailing and they're trying to like cut off each other
- 14:51Speaker 6: and I don't know if you're guessing the right way
- 14:53Speaker 6: or the but that's.
- 14:55Speaker 1: A good observation.
- 14:56Speaker 8: Generally, it feels like they're getting up the top speed.
- 14:59Speaker 8: Whether it's open field running straight to finish drills or
- 15:03Speaker 8: these quick little three cone drills, they're getting up the
- 15:05Speaker 8: toss people.
- 15:06Speaker 6: That's been striking the continuing all the way to the
- 15:09Speaker 6: goal line at full speed. Now I've every training camp
- 15:13Speaker 6: I've ever been in, a guy will catch a pass
- 15:14Speaker 6: at the forty yard line and run forty yards into
- 15:17Speaker 6: the end zone, but.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Not at full speed.
- 15:20Speaker 6: Almost everything I've seen in that regard this is mostly
- 15:24Speaker 6: the pre practice kind of stuff, like as we're setting
- 15:26Speaker 6: up walk throughs, you know, quarterbacks loosening it up. But
- 15:30Speaker 6: these guys are running like fifty yard sprints to the
- 15:33Speaker 6: end zone every time they catch the ball.
- 15:35Speaker 4: So here's the deal. Next week, it's Mini camp. It's mandatory.
- 15:39Speaker 4: We'll be out there and so will you. So Monday
- 15:43Speaker 4: and Tuesday, as we've done in the past, we'll have
- 15:46Speaker 4: our cameras live and we'll do a live show at
- 15:50Speaker 4: Mini Camp. It'll start around eleven thirty in the morning
- 15:53Speaker 4: on Monday and Tuesday. We'll go to Mike Rabel's press
- 15:57Speaker 4: conference around eleven forty five, and then we'll show you
- 16:00Speaker 4: what's going on on the field and we'll talk over it.
- 16:04Speaker 4: We can only be there for a certain amount of
- 16:06Speaker 4: time and then they make us turn off the cameras.
- 16:09Speaker 4: At that point we'll end the show. But we'll have
- 16:11Speaker 4: a wrap up show around two thirty after practice to
- 16:15Speaker 4: talk about everything that we saw that we couldn't put
- 16:18Speaker 4: on camera. But a lot of the stuff that we're
- 16:20Speaker 4: talking about right now. You're going to be able to
- 16:23Speaker 4: see on Monday and Tuesday, So make sure that you're
- 16:26Speaker 4: with us eleven thirty Monday and Tuesday Eastern time, and.
- 16:32Speaker 2: You'll see some of these things that we're talking about. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 2: it's great. I mean, it's entertaining to watch.
- 16:36Speaker 8: I don't know if it's the novelty of it where
- 16:38Speaker 8: we've been watching the similar kind of practices at least
- 16:41Speaker 8: I have for the last six seasons, but it's I'm
- 16:43Speaker 8: hopeful that this will get this room going and start
- 16:47Speaker 8: to you know, between Digs coming back and having some leadership,
- 16:50Speaker 8: you know, you hope that.
- 16:51Speaker 2: That room is going to get it in gear this
- 16:53Speaker 2: year and really contribute.
- 16:54Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I'm excited about Kyle Williams too. I just I think
- 16:56Speaker 2: I think he's gonna.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Be a player.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I listen, I mean it's our How do we
- 17:01Speaker 4: know what's gonna happen. We don't even know what training
- 17:03Speaker 4: camp's gonna look like right now. But they should be better. Yeah,
- 17:07Speaker 4: I'm talking about the offense right now.
- 17:09Speaker 1: They should be better.
- 17:11Speaker 2: To just get a vibe, Like, I don't know if
- 17:14Speaker 2: I can make this comparison.
- 17:15Speaker 8: I've said before my experience in LA, like the best
- 17:17Speaker 8: TV shows were one guy's vision and it's twisted maybe,
- 17:21Speaker 8: and there's some weird things you don't quite get.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Say the same thing with Bill Belichick. It was kind
- 17:25Speaker 2: of his vision.
- 17:25Speaker 1: As long as it's not twin p he's right, But.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You just get the feeling this team will be Mike
- 17:31Speaker 2: Rabel's vision of He's putting his stamp on every part
- 17:35Speaker 2: of it.
- 17:35Speaker 8: It's gonna look the way he wants. The practices have
- 17:38Speaker 8: a vibe, the players have a vibe. It just feels
- 17:41Speaker 8: like a real football team's coming together. How will it
- 17:43Speaker 8: all work out and wins and losses, I don't know,
- 17:45Speaker 8: but I'm excited to watch. I think they're gonna be
- 17:47Speaker 8: a tough team. You know, we'd said last year pain
- 17:49Speaker 8: in the ass team, that Matt Smith's thing. Yeah, I
- 17:51Speaker 8: think they'll be a pain in the ass this year.
- 17:53Speaker 4: All right, So we'll talk more about practice then. Later
- 17:55Speaker 4: in the day, three point thirty, David Andrews had his
- 18:00Speaker 4: retirement press conference, and we stream that live, so you
- 18:04Speaker 4: might have seen that.
- 18:05Speaker 1: But right from the get go.
- 18:07Speaker 2: He very emotion. He was he could barely make it.
- 18:09Speaker 1: To the podium.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Yeah, he was really emotional, and I think it's a
- 18:13Speaker 4: guy who he really I don't think he's come to
- 18:18Speaker 4: grips yet with that he has to stop playing.
- 18:20Speaker 1: I think he wants to keep.
- 18:21Speaker 6: And I think it happens a lot to guys that
- 18:24Speaker 6: they don't get to go out on their terms, and
- 18:26Speaker 6: it's like an injury and you know, remember, you know,
- 18:29Speaker 6: I'm not trying to compare David Andrews to Lawrence Taylor,
- 18:32Speaker 6: arguably the best defensive player who's ever played. But I
- 18:34Speaker 6: think he blew out his achilles in the year that
- 18:37Speaker 6: he was planning on retiring, and he was like, I
- 18:39Speaker 6: can't go out that way, and he rehabbed and he
- 18:42Speaker 6: came back and played one more season. I think I
- 18:45Speaker 6: might have that timeline a little off, but I think
- 18:47Speaker 6: that happens sometimes with players as they get near the end,
- 18:50Speaker 6: they don't want to go out on an injury. And
- 18:52Speaker 6: I think, you know, and David said it a couple
- 18:54Speaker 6: of times yesterday, I'm just physically I can't play. I'm
- 18:58Speaker 6: not healthy and I can't play. And I think that
- 19:00Speaker 6: probably is part of what makes it even more difficult to.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Walk away lost a lot of way too.
- 19:06Speaker 8: It looks crazy, does he looks great offensive lineman thing
- 19:08Speaker 8: where it's like, wow.
- 19:09Speaker 4: You look like he looks like a defensive end with
- 19:13Speaker 4: the beak, with the shirt to the jeans and everything.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Now, he was a great patriot.
- 19:18Speaker 8: I I think at the time when the season ended
- 19:20Speaker 8: last year, for me, he said, I want to get
- 19:22Speaker 8: surgery to hopefully give me a chance to compete and play.
- 19:25Speaker 2: And it seems like he didn't, you know, And he.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Said a lot of things that resonated with me, but
- 19:30Speaker 4: one of them he said was about New England and
- 19:32Speaker 4: about living in the area. You know that every year
- 19:35Speaker 4: they go back, and then one one year they said,
- 19:37Speaker 4: you know what, by the time we get back to
- 19:39Speaker 4: Georgia and we're unpacked and we have to pack to
- 19:42Speaker 4: come back anyway, So let's this year, let's just stay.
- 19:45Speaker 4: And at that point they enjoyed it so much they decided, Okay,
- 19:48Speaker 4: this is our home. And you know, a lot of
- 19:51Speaker 4: players that aren't from New England, they end up going
- 19:54Speaker 4: back to wherever they are. But he's he and his
- 19:56Speaker 4: family are staying. He's got two young boys, and I
- 20:00Speaker 4: like that. I like that they've adopted the Boston area
- 20:03Speaker 4: is now their home.
- 20:04Speaker 8: Well, I mean, I think this team gets you know,
- 20:06Speaker 8: flax sometimes for you know, state taxes and you know,
- 20:10Speaker 8: not a great place to live, and there's winners and
- 20:12Speaker 8: all that, but there's certainly plenty of players that have
- 20:14Speaker 8: come here and fallen in love with this area and
- 20:17Speaker 8: put down roots here after their playing careers are over.
- 20:19Speaker 8: Certainly some of them who are famous and they're not
- 20:21Speaker 8: going to go somewhere else because this is where they're famous,
- 20:23Speaker 8: but always.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Love well, particularly you have kids.
- 20:25Speaker 4: I mean, like we do have a pretty good education system,
- 20:28Speaker 4: and the hospitals are.
- 20:29Speaker 6: Good, right, And that's the kind of stuff that you know,
- 20:32Speaker 6: it never comes up when they're talking about the taxes, right,
- 20:35Speaker 6: you know, and you know there's you guys are right,
- 20:38Speaker 6: there's a lot of players that have stayed in the
- 20:39Speaker 6: area basically because of their kids and their schools.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Right. So so I like that.
- 20:45Speaker 1: So that was that. Any any other comments?
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Well he also said that he ultimately decided too,
- 20:51Speaker 3: that he wanted to only play for one team. Yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 3: throughout his career. So when I started to think about it,
- 20:56Speaker 3: the one team thing, the injury, it felt a lot
- 20:58Speaker 3: like Julian Edelman to me, where you know, at the
- 21:01Speaker 3: end with Edelman, his knee was basically shot and he
- 21:04Speaker 3: couldn't keep playing. And I don't know if David's situations
- 21:07Speaker 3: as serious as that with his shoulder, but that's ultimately
- 21:11Speaker 3: what ended Edelman's career, was an injury. It feels like
- 21:14Speaker 3: that's ultimately what did David in And then you know
- 21:17Speaker 3: he obviously, you know, only played for the Patriots, played
- 21:20Speaker 3: for one team for over a decade, both of those guys,
- 21:23Speaker 3: So I saw a lot of parallels between that where
- 21:27Speaker 3: I think Edelman still had the itch to play, but
- 21:30Speaker 3: physically just couldn't play at the level that he's used to,
- 21:34Speaker 3: and I think maybe the same for David Andrews.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 6: Yeah, A couple of things that stood out to me
- 21:38Speaker 6: were just like his passion in his emotion were obvious,
- 21:42Speaker 6: and just the way his passion for the organization, the
- 21:47Speaker 6: passion for his teammates, his relationships, in the passion for
- 21:50Speaker 6: the game itself football. I mean, he spoke with reverence
- 21:54Speaker 6: about football and you know just how it prepares you
- 21:59Speaker 6: for like and you know it's it's a typical, you know,
- 22:02Speaker 6: sec kind of a player and mentality, but like it
- 22:06Speaker 6: was not phony at all.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Like we talked about it.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Last week about promoting tackle football and the lessons that
- 22:12Speaker 4: football only football teaches as a team sport above other
- 22:17Speaker 4: team sports, and the NFL and we need to get
- 22:21Speaker 4: more aggressive about promoting tackle football.
- 22:23Speaker 6: There is no better teacher for life and get football said,
- 22:27Speaker 6: and getting kids playing tackle football again, because the numbers
- 22:31Speaker 6: are diminishing, There's no doubt about it.
- 22:33Speaker 1: But you listen to a guy like David Andrews, if
- 22:35Speaker 1: I'm a parent, I'm like, hmm, that that that that
- 22:39Speaker 1: wouldn't be a bad thing for my kid, you know
- 22:41Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Maybe a couple of years we'll have Ford out there,
- 22:45Speaker 3: Ford Andrews.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Ford and Worth, Yeah, the two boys.
- 22:50Speaker 3: But yeah, it was It was a cool It was great.
- 22:52Speaker 3: I mean it was a nice, really nice event, such
- 22:54Speaker 3: an emotional event, but really cool. And I also just
- 22:59Speaker 3: kind of felt, you know, he's said that he's gonna
- 23:01Speaker 3: wait and take some time and spend some time with
- 23:03Speaker 3: his family. But that's a guy that's going to have
- 23:06Speaker 3: to be around football, like whether it's coaching or doing
- 23:08Speaker 3: what we do or whatever, Like, it's going to have
- 23:10Speaker 3: to be something I would think, and uh, you know,
- 23:14Speaker 3: maybe not right away.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Now from what I hear, he is going to be around.
- 23:17Speaker 4: From a marketing standpoint, he's going to be an ambassador,
- 23:20Speaker 4: so he'll he'll be you know, uh with sponsors and
- 23:24Speaker 4: doing things for the organization.
- 23:26Speaker 1: This year stands Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's good.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I mean coaching is hard, like obviously jump it's more
- 23:32Speaker 3: time consuming probably than playing.
- 23:34Speaker 4: That I can understand, Like I want to jump right
- 23:37Speaker 4: back into the grind.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but I grind as it is being a player.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Him doing it at like a high school level or
- 23:43Speaker 6: something like that, just to.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Well, what's his kids get older?
- 23:46Speaker 6: Absolutely right, his kids are, His kids are small, so yeah,
- 23:50Speaker 6: I mean I could because I think he's how many
- 23:52Speaker 6: times do we see him being credited with teaching now?
- 23:55Speaker 9: Right?
- 23:56Speaker 2: As a player?
- 23:56Speaker 4: Well that might help strange last year years ago, when
- 24:01Speaker 4: like he ended up being the de facto coach because
- 24:04Speaker 4: no one was left.
- 24:05Speaker 6: So I think he likes to teach. I think he
- 24:07Speaker 6: has that in sort of in his DNA.
- 24:10Speaker 3: I think it could be a great offensive line coach
- 24:12Speaker 3: if he wanted to be. But I totally understand that
- 24:15Speaker 3: he has young kids and probably hasn't been able to
- 24:18Speaker 3: spend as much time with them as he would like.
- 24:20Speaker 3: So I totally get that. But a lot of us
- 24:24Speaker 3: you know, had asked him towards the end of these
- 24:26Speaker 3: last couple of seasons, knowing that retirement was probably on
- 24:29Speaker 3: the horizon, about coaching, and he never said no. You know,
- 24:33Speaker 3: it was never a hard note to coaching eventually, so
- 24:36Speaker 3: maybe he would.
- 24:38Speaker 8: Speaking to teaching. I just could talk about the coaches.
- 24:40Speaker 8: We've heard from all the coaches yesterday. But I thought
- 24:42Speaker 8: it was a really great story from Zach Kerr, who
- 24:44Speaker 8: was talking at the podium and said, I think when
- 24:46Speaker 8: he was in high school there was Zach Kerr. He's
- 24:48Speaker 8: the inside linebackers coach, but he's currently serving kind of
- 24:51Speaker 8: as the defect defense there until to William Williams is
- 24:54Speaker 8: able to return. But he said, you know, how did
- 24:57Speaker 8: you get into coaching, And he said, I think it
- 24:59Speaker 8: was he was in highhigh school. Fellow student didn't speak
- 25:02Speaker 8: English very well, and so we worked with that student
- 25:04Speaker 8: and the student ended up, like you know, successfully passing
- 25:06Speaker 8: a test or someone was very excited, and he said
- 25:08Speaker 8: that was the moment I realized I want to help people.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I just thought it was a really cool, great story.
- 25:12Speaker 1: It was.
- 25:12Speaker 6: It was even younger than that, which I think makes
- 25:14Speaker 6: a little bit more impressive. I think he said he
- 25:16Speaker 6: was in the fifth grade and there was a fourth
- 25:17Speaker 6: grader who didn't speak a lot of English that he tutored,
- 25:20Speaker 6: and the kid ended up getting an A on a
- 25:23Speaker 6: test like the week later, and the kid like ran
- 25:25Speaker 6: up to him and gave him a big hug because
- 25:26Speaker 6: he had never really done well in school. And that's
- 25:29Speaker 6: when Mike, as Mike said, he he I realized I
- 25:32Speaker 6: wanted to teach, I wanted to help people.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that was really person being Miles.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Again, Yeah, it was.
- 25:41Speaker 8: It was funny though, because it seemed like everybody went
- 25:43Speaker 8: to the offensive coaches and I looked over and it's
- 25:45Speaker 8: like Scott Booker's hanging out by himself, you know. Andrew
- 25:48Speaker 8: Callahanmers was talking to Mike Smith, and then Clint McMillan
- 25:52Speaker 8: was also just you know, not talking abouty. So I'm like, well,
- 25:53Speaker 8: I'm the defense guy. So I had a really good
- 25:55Speaker 8: talk with Scott Booker, who I really enjoyed listening to
- 25:58Speaker 8: on the field and great getting settled here, but you know,
- 26:01Speaker 8: just really excited about his room.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Talked a little bit about Woodson and the impact he's had.
- 26:05Speaker 8: But then I also finally went over and talked to McMillan,
- 26:08Speaker 8: who had a connection with Joshua Farmer at Florida State and.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Said that he walked in.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Didn't know him first recruiting classes, when his first year
- 26:15Speaker 8: in Florida State, and you know, while the recruit me
- 26:17Speaker 8: just said, this giant human walked in. But they built
- 26:21Speaker 8: a relationship, maintained a connection, and it was excited to
- 26:24Speaker 8: get him back here in the room too. So, uh yeah,
- 26:27Speaker 8: this port of defensive guys, nobody wants to talk to them.
- 26:29Speaker 8: Everybody's over the Ashton Grant talking quarterbacks.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Well some of us were at Doug Morone talking
- 26:34Speaker 3: offensive line.
- 26:34Speaker 6: But in fairness, there was you know, there's a lot
- 26:38Speaker 6: of reason to talk offenses.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Oh no, I know, yeah, no, but there's very few
- 26:42Speaker 3: defensive guy.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I was sure to point out. I'm like, I like
- 26:44Speaker 2: the defense. I'm coming to the defense, and I mad
- 26:46Speaker 2: at you.
- 26:46Speaker 6: I hit the trifector of McDaniel's Todd downing.
- 26:50Speaker 2: You know that went over to Maroon for a while.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Well, it's always me and and bdard Our first to
- 26:56Speaker 3: Marone and then you know now with Bill Campbell and
- 26:59Speaker 3: like all the tension on the offensive line there there's
- 27:02Speaker 3: more people that come over to but Thomas Brown probably
- 27:05Speaker 3: made you know, for the scribes, they probably had the
- 27:07Speaker 3: biggest headline talking about the changes that they're making to
- 27:10Speaker 3: the offense and the new wrinkles, and it really is
- 27:13Speaker 3: a melting pot of coaches. We've talked about this, and
- 27:17Speaker 3: you know, some people look at it as a negative
- 27:19Speaker 3: or a positive, whichever way you want to look at it.
- 27:21Speaker 3: But from a positive standpoint, it sounds like they're kind
- 27:25Speaker 3: of taking things from everybody's background to add to the
- 27:28Speaker 3: base of Josh m daniels's scheme.
- 27:30Speaker 4: So that's a good segue for me because I was
- 27:34Speaker 4: on my way up to New Hampshire on Sunday and
- 27:37Speaker 4: so I had the radio on and your guy Dan
- 27:39Speaker 4: Lipschatz was raging about how much he can't stand Josh McDaniels,
- 27:45Speaker 4: as like he's terrible, blah blah blah. He's going to
- 27:48Speaker 4: be running an antiquated offense. Yeah, you know, the last
- 27:52Speaker 4: time he was good was you know whatever, And they
- 27:55Speaker 4: don't run that offense in the NFL anymore.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Black He was going on, I mean, really going on
- 27:59Speaker 1: and on about it.
- 28:00Speaker 4: You've ever seen buff But then you listen to Josh
- 28:02Speaker 4: McDaniel's comments yesterday about how they do have that melting
- 28:06Speaker 4: pot of ideas and that he's learning from them and
- 28:11Speaker 4: installing plays that he's.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Never run before.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and how does that make you feel when you
- 28:16Speaker 1: hear that? Now?
- 28:17Speaker 3: Yeah, it's exciting. I mean, obviously, I think the foundation
- 28:20Speaker 3: is still the Josh McDaniels offense and the Josh McDaniels playbook,
- 28:24Speaker 3: but some elements they're trying to add into maybe just
- 28:28Speaker 3: throw some curve balls at defenses and maybe just have
- 28:31Speaker 3: it as a game plan thing to be able to
- 28:33Speaker 3: do that. But a lot of people speculated that Thomas
- 28:36Speaker 3: Brown was talking about some of the Sean McVay stuff
- 28:38Speaker 3: because he has a background with Sean McVay. You know,
- 28:40Speaker 3: most of these guys that are on the staff around
- 28:42Speaker 3: McDaniels now are from West Coast backgrounds. Your West Coast offenses,
- 28:47Speaker 3: Your Ashton Grant was in Cleveland, Todd Downing was in
- 28:50Speaker 3: Tennessee with Rabel in West Coast offenses, and then Thomas
- 28:53Speaker 3: Brown was in the West Coast family as well. So
- 28:57Speaker 3: maybe some McVeigh stuff in there, but I cannot I
- 29:01Speaker 3: For like three years, I've been hearing there trying to
- 29:03Speaker 3: Sean McVay this offense, Like I key, hear it all
- 29:05Speaker 3: the time that you know, wide zone, you know, more emotion,
- 29:09Speaker 3: you know, all that kind of stuff. We'll see if
- 29:11Speaker 3: it comes to fruition. But I think there is an
- 29:13Speaker 3: element of truth to that that maybe that's what they're
- 29:16Speaker 3: trying to get after here with Thomas Brown, who's the
- 29:19Speaker 3: past game coordinator, which is a title that they've never
- 29:21Speaker 3: handed out before.
- 29:22Speaker 2: That's right on this team.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's uh, hopefully.
- 29:26Speaker 2: It's always got that. You got that right, buddy.
- 29:30Speaker 8: It's always so reassuring for me to hear from Josh
- 29:32Speaker 8: McDaniels because I feel like there's always so much hysteria
- 29:35Speaker 8: around the offense and the playbook and all this, and
- 29:37Speaker 8: he's always so calm, cool, you know, measured in what
- 29:40Speaker 8: he has to say. And I think one of the
- 29:42Speaker 8: things we criticize Bill for at the end was kind
- 29:46Speaker 8: of turning within himself and not really trying to expand
- 29:49Speaker 8: and grow and kind of sticking with the people he
- 29:51Speaker 8: knew and the schemes he knew. I think this is
- 29:53Speaker 8: a positive sign right now that Josh is open to
- 29:56Speaker 8: I mean he.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Said it explicitly yesterday.
- 29:58Speaker 8: There's gonna be some plays out here that I call it,
- 29:59Speaker 8: I've never before, so those are music to my ears.
- 30:03Speaker 8: I don't think anybody wants to hear that, oh this
- 30:05Speaker 8: is everything's the same. I get, I understand that base
- 30:07Speaker 8: of Liftshat's point, But overall, listening to Josh talk, I
- 30:11Speaker 8: just I feel confident in him and I'm.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Excited to see what they whip up to be a
- 30:15Speaker 2: little different.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm interested to see what it is. You know,
- 30:18Speaker 3: I'm not in love with the idea of Drake being
- 30:22Speaker 3: under center more that that's the one hesitation that I have.
- 30:25Speaker 3: I don't think he's one hundred percent comfortable with it.
- 30:27Speaker 3: He didn't do it a ton in college. It's just
- 30:29Speaker 3: not done a ton really at any level besides the
- 30:32Speaker 3: NFL anymore, you know, high school and college, and so
- 30:35Speaker 3: I don't know, we'll see, Like I would prefer more
- 30:38Speaker 3: of like the Andy Reid stuff where they're you know,
- 30:41Speaker 3: RPOs and gun gun runs and things like that they
- 30:44Speaker 3: do with mahomes, but maybe it will be more under center,
- 30:47Speaker 3: you know, wide zone bootlegs, things like that, which can
- 30:50Speaker 3: be you know, Drake is obviously really athletics, so you
- 30:53Speaker 3: get him out on the boots and that could be
- 30:55Speaker 3: really productive. I'm not saying it can't be, but we'll
- 30:58Speaker 3: see what it ends up being. I don't on a
- 31:00Speaker 3: do you feel.
- 31:01Speaker 8: Like if they ran it enough, like, do you have
- 31:02Speaker 8: confidence that he like, they wouldn't keep trying to do
- 31:05Speaker 8: it if they feel like he can't do it.
- 31:07Speaker 2: If their ideas to.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Run boots that I think that he is going to
- 31:12Speaker 3: do that at a really high level. If the idea
- 31:14Speaker 3: is to do the Brady thing where he's under center,
- 31:16Speaker 3: he's turning around, his backs to the defense, he's play action,
- 31:19Speaker 3: and then he's back up, you know, his eyes pointed
- 31:22Speaker 3: up field. I haven't necessarily seen him do that comfortably yet.
- 31:27Speaker 3: You know, I think the times that they tried to
- 31:28Speaker 3: do that with him last year wasn't fantastic. So like,
- 31:33Speaker 3: that's one thing I would maybe hesitate a little bit with.
- 31:35Speaker 3: But he's so athletic that when he gets on the move,
- 31:38Speaker 3: he looks like a natural on boots. And if that's
- 31:41Speaker 3: the way that you're going to do it, then that's okay.
- 31:43Speaker 6: So I would say, you know, he gave you a
- 31:46Speaker 6: half hour of you know, all the things that were great,
- 31:48Speaker 6: and I would agree with that. The best stuff, the
- 31:52Speaker 6: best stuff that I saw from May yesterday was when
- 31:55Speaker 6: he's sort of one step up, two steps to the right,
- 31:59Speaker 6: flick of his wrisk. He's just so gifted. That's where
- 32:01Speaker 6: those throws came from. It wasn't always just like oh
- 32:05Speaker 6: the time.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Like yeah, several step drop right.
- 32:08Speaker 6: I would just I would just say, like, you know,
- 32:11Speaker 6: the whole like everything is back, you know.
- 32:14Speaker 2: All that was.
- 32:15Speaker 6: He made some throws yesterday that will looked like the
- 32:17Speaker 6: throws that we saw last year, which was that that
- 32:19Speaker 6: part was back. The offense in general still is not
- 32:22Speaker 6: looking good, like it's still clunky in my view. I think,
- 32:26Speaker 6: as Evan said, I think sometimes the timing wasn't always there.
- 32:30Speaker 6: Mike and I were talking about, like, you know, he
- 32:32Speaker 6: still has that every once in a while, that step
- 32:34Speaker 6: to the right, throat to the left, which doesn't look good,
- 32:38Speaker 6: the kind of it's not there, I'm gonna double clutch
- 32:41Speaker 6: and whatever. I don't care what you call it, a hitch,
- 32:43Speaker 6: a pomp or whatever. But when you see him move around.
- 32:46Speaker 6: I actually one of the ones that Mike was was
- 32:48Speaker 6: critical of, Wow, that was probably a sack. I was
- 32:50Speaker 6: actually like, I don't know, I thought Drake really moved
- 32:53Speaker 6: well in that on that play and got himself into
- 32:56Speaker 6: a posi into a throwing lane, and man like he
- 32:59Speaker 6: is just so impressed, like the one knows Stevenson. Like
- 33:02Speaker 6: the throw was perfect, there was a great catch by Stevenson,
- 33:04Speaker 6: but like considering what he had to navigate to get
- 33:07Speaker 6: the ball there, it was like.
- 33:08Speaker 2: That's a special play.
- 33:09Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the part, Like I think that you're trying
- 33:13Speaker 6: to say is like your whole I don't want to
- 33:15Speaker 6: take away his superpower. Well, his superpower is his ability
- 33:18Speaker 6: to throw off platform, You're right, and and just his
- 33:20Speaker 6: ability to make plays, and like when you have him
- 33:22Speaker 6: in the gun and he can just stand there pre
- 33:24Speaker 6: snap and see the whole defense and see the structure
- 33:27Speaker 6: of the defense and then you know understand where the
- 33:30Speaker 6: threats are and things like that.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I just think that he can make plays, Like if
- 33:33Speaker 3: they're going to send pressure at him when he's in
- 33:35Speaker 3: the gun, he's so athletic that he can just get
- 33:37Speaker 3: out right and he can just make plays on the
- 33:40Speaker 3: outside with his scrambling ability. So you know, when you
- 33:42Speaker 3: look at now, the Bills have gone a little bit
- 33:45Speaker 3: more towards under center just to have that, like, especially
- 33:48Speaker 3: for the playoffs, and when it gets cold and Buffalo and.
- 33:50Speaker 6: Have a lot of sneaks with Josh Allen too that
- 33:53Speaker 6: I don't think they're going to run a ton of with.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but you know, when it comes to Alan
- 34:00Speaker 3: Lamar Mahomes Burrow, it's them in the gun three wide receiver,
- 34:05Speaker 3: you know, eleven personnel and it's just rolled the ball
- 34:09Speaker 3: out and make a play. And I just I still
- 34:11Speaker 3: feel like that's where Drake is at his best. But
- 34:13Speaker 3: that doesn't mean that he can't learn this other stuff.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I just I feel like that is going to have
- 34:18Speaker 3: to be eighty five percent of the offense. I would think,
- 34:21Speaker 3: you know, is him just making plays from shotgun?
- 34:24Speaker 2: All right?
- 34:25Speaker 4: Podcasts at Patriots dot Com is the way to email
- 34:27Speaker 4: the show eight five to five PATS five hundred is
- 34:30Speaker 4: the hotline Chris and Kofax writes in Colfax California's credit.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I know the road, but I'm not sure that to.
- 34:37Speaker 4: At what point should we be getting excited about e
- 34:39Speaker 4: Fton Chisholm.
- 34:40Speaker 1: When does the hype start to become something.
- 34:42Speaker 2: April thirtieth, well, when did they sign him? May May?
- 34:46Speaker 4: When does the hype start to become something real and
- 34:48Speaker 4: more j C. Jackson slash Jacobe Myers unless Zach zuddfeld
- 34:52Speaker 4: in Austin Carr Also, what exactly does Todd Downing do.
- 34:56Speaker 4: I've seen and heard more of Diggs and Holland's coaching
- 34:59Speaker 4: the other guys and down No, that's not true.
- 35:01Speaker 8: I mean that I mentioned in one of the other shows.
- 35:03Speaker 8: I mean when they're going two fields top Downings running
- 35:06Speaker 8: the whole offense on the other side with the lower
- 35:09Speaker 8: depth chart guys whatever you want to call him.
- 35:11Speaker 2: So I think he does a lot.
- 35:13Speaker 8: As for Chisholm, I mean we saw Jaylen Polk have
- 35:16Speaker 8: a great summer, caught a lot of balls, seem like
- 35:18Speaker 8: he was going to be active, and of course he was.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Making the team, but he didn't end up being productive
- 35:21Speaker 2: during the season.
- 35:22Speaker 8: All we can do is watch what happens, and Evan
- 35:25Speaker 8: gave the stats seven catches, he pops up a lot.
- 35:27Speaker 2: He's playing.
- 35:28Speaker 8: You can tell when guys are starting to get more
- 35:31Speaker 8: high level reps, and that is something that I definitely
- 35:33Speaker 8: clocked yesterday.
- 35:35Speaker 2: He's gonna have to string it together. He might need
- 35:37Speaker 2: an injury.
- 35:37Speaker 8: But we were speculating, like, is there a world where
- 35:40Speaker 8: he does start.
- 35:41Speaker 2: To push to Mario Douglas a little bit. Is is
- 35:43Speaker 2: there a world? I don't know for sure.
- 35:45Speaker 8: He's got a little more size than Douglas has, which
- 35:47Speaker 8: maybe gives him a little bit of an advantage. I
- 35:49Speaker 8: don't know, but competition is great at a position where
- 35:52Speaker 8: you've really been struggling to find talent.
- 35:54Speaker 6: Can we move it to my conspiracy kind of stuff
- 35:57Speaker 6: that I worry about my small seat? Can so? I
- 36:01Speaker 6: just I don't some of the things that I'm hearing.
- 36:06Speaker 6: Scott Zolak was one, I believe last week talking about
- 36:10Speaker 6: the wide receivers and made a comment that to Mario
- 36:14Speaker 6: Douglas is one of those guys, yeah, he has to
- 36:15Speaker 6: get into that group too.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Like he's not established. I'm like, yeah, it's kind of strange.
- 36:21Speaker 6: I kind of feel like, to Mario Douglas is with, yeah,
- 36:25Speaker 6: the guys that seems at least done something and sort
- 36:28Speaker 6: of you know, hesitate to call anyone.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Roster locks, but you know, I kind of look at
- 36:32Speaker 2: him as a roster lock. Yeah, right, that was weird, And.
- 36:36Speaker 6: I'm seeing other people start talking about, you know, to
- 36:39Speaker 6: Mario Douglas really isn't a Josh McDaniels type slot receiver
- 36:43Speaker 6: I've heard a couple other guys talk.
- 36:46Speaker 2: About now, like, Huh, that's odd. Why are they saying that.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Where's that coming from?
- 36:52Speaker 6: So I just wonder if, for whatever reason, they think,
- 36:56Speaker 6: you know and listen to Mario Douglas. I'm not here
- 36:58Speaker 6: to tell you that to Mario Dougs his Edelman and welcome,
- 37:01Speaker 6: because I've been telling you for the last two years.
- 37:02Speaker 6: I don't see that, So I'm not going to be
- 37:04Speaker 6: fraudulent about it. Maybe he doesn't have the catch radius,
- 37:08Speaker 6: maybe he doesn't have the size to have that kind
- 37:09Speaker 6: of volume and hold up. But it certainly seems like
- 37:13Speaker 6: they might be sort of pushing that narrative to the
- 37:16Speaker 6: media because I'm hearing a lot of FT and Chisholm
- 37:18Speaker 6: talk and I'm hearing nothing all of a sudden about
- 37:21Speaker 6: to Mario Douglas other than maybe he's not Josh McDaniel's
- 37:24Speaker 6: type of slot receiver.
- 37:27Speaker 8: And the evidence seems like, like you said, he is
- 37:30Speaker 8: part of that group right now. Whether he's entrenched or not,
- 37:32Speaker 8: I don't know, but it's not like he's over on
- 37:35Speaker 8: the other field doing stuff with the other guys like I.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Looked at like, So, if you have booty Kyle Williams.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Why am I Stefane Lincoln. No, thank you, Stefan Dicks.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Quickly we forget.
- 37:52Speaker 6: So maybe that's not like so maybe that slot sort
- 37:55Speaker 6: of becomes like a secondary part of the offense, like
- 37:59Speaker 6: the true sluck because I think that Diggs can play
- 38:01Speaker 6: the slot.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Sure, I think he's going to play a lot of
- 38:03Speaker 3: the slot, right, Yeah.
- 38:05Speaker 6: So if that's maybe they're looking at it like, well,
- 38:09Speaker 6: this is just going to be a complementary part of
- 38:11Speaker 6: the offense, not necessarily. We're not looking to get one
- 38:14Speaker 6: hundred and twenty targets to the slot guy like we
- 38:16Speaker 6: did with Welker and Edelman. I don't know. Maybe they're
- 38:19Speaker 6: looking at it that way and they just want a
- 38:21Speaker 6: guy to plug in. I mean, I think Douglas, like
- 38:27Speaker 6: I said, I know I'm probably gonna sound hypocritical.
- 38:29Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 38:30Speaker 6: Douglas is a great player the way he's you know,
- 38:32Speaker 6: someone described him as a guy who's a threat to
- 38:34Speaker 6: score a touchdown anytime he was on the field.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Last year.
- 38:38Speaker 6: You know, I think he had one career touchdown at
- 38:41Speaker 6: the time that that comment was made.
- 38:42Speaker 2: He had no career touchdowns. He's a threat. So I
- 38:48Speaker 2: don't want to. I'm not.
- 38:49Speaker 6: I don't want to overrate Douglas, but I think Douglas
- 38:52Speaker 6: is better than suddenly now I think that some of
- 38:54Speaker 6: the people are trying to make him out to be
- 38:55Speaker 6: and all of a sudden, this Chisholm is the flavor
- 38:59Speaker 6: of the month.
- 39:00Speaker 3: I think, you know, with Chisholm, to answer the emailers question,
- 39:03Speaker 3: like you can't make any judgments until the pads come on,
- 39:05Speaker 3: Like until we're actually playing real football with pads and
- 39:09Speaker 3: guys are pressing him and getting in his face and
- 39:12Speaker 3: crowding him, you know, at the line of scrimmage and
- 39:14Speaker 3: forcing him to finish through contact and play through contact.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Like we don't know if that's all going to translate
- 39:19Speaker 3: for him, but I watching him, he just has a
- 39:22Speaker 3: really good instinctual feel for the middle of the field
- 39:26Speaker 3: and the high traffic areas in the middle of the field.
- 39:29Speaker 3: You know, does finding pockets of space, you know, separating
- 39:32Speaker 3: with his quickness like those types of things that I
- 39:35Speaker 3: don't know if Tomario Douglas is the most instinctive football player.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I think he's a really explosive guy. I think he's
- 39:43Speaker 3: a really quick twitch athlete. I think he can separate
- 39:45Speaker 3: against man to man coverage, but there's still gonna be
- 39:50Speaker 3: mostly Josh McDaniels' offense. That slot role is highly sophisticated.
- 39:54Speaker 3: You know, there's a lot of options. There's a lot
- 39:56Speaker 3: of reading coverage, there's a lot of I'm sitting here,
- 39:59Speaker 3: I'm breaking there, like different things that you have to
- 40:01Speaker 3: do based off of what the defense is doing to you.
- 40:05Speaker 3: That just takes a really high IQ player to be
- 40:09Speaker 3: able to play in there. You know Edelman a former quarterback.
- 40:11Speaker 3: You know Welker, a high IQ player. So I'm interested
- 40:15Speaker 3: to see how that works out. I think with Chisholm,
- 40:17Speaker 3: and I know it's stereotypical, but he just looks the
- 40:20Speaker 3: part of those types of receivers right now that just
- 40:24Speaker 3: has a feel for that position. He just has an
- 40:27Speaker 3: innate ability to get open in the middle of the
- 40:30Speaker 3: field and get open pretty quickly. So I'm excited about
- 40:33Speaker 3: what I've seen. You can't really overreact until they get
- 40:36Speaker 3: into pads and he's doing it in August and in
- 40:40Speaker 3: the preseason, but you understand what the archetype is like,
- 40:43Speaker 3: you understand the mold of the player that they might
- 40:46Speaker 3: be looking for.
- 40:47Speaker 6: That you understand after listening to me wine for fifteen
- 40:50Speaker 6: years about it that I just don't like the archetype
- 40:53Speaker 6: of the mold.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:54Speaker 6: Yeah, So it's not about Chisholm. It's about I was
- 40:56Speaker 6: hoping that the offense would move away from that.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Well there's a chance, well and maybe like that role,
- 41:01Speaker 3: like to your point, you know, I always like it's
- 41:03Speaker 3: like the Edelman and Amondola thing, Like Edelman was really
- 41:06Speaker 3: the high volume guy. Ammadola was kind of like the
- 41:08Speaker 3: fourth receiver, right, and maybe that ends up being it,
- 41:12Speaker 3: you know, maybe that's what I'm thinking.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they're looking at Pop now or yeah.
- 41:16Speaker 3: And I don't think that this is like Pop's going
- 41:18Speaker 3: to be off the team because I think his ability
- 41:21Speaker 3: with the you know, his explosiveness is still an element
- 41:24Speaker 3: that is going to be important. But I understand what
- 41:28Speaker 3: they might see in Chisholm. And I can't help but
- 41:30Speaker 3: think that Josh McDaniels is is pretty excited about Chisholm.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Like the guy just gets it.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Everybody's got a time, and that's what frightens me that
- 41:37Speaker 2: he is.
- 41:39Speaker 6: But if you can tell me that they're going to
- 41:41Speaker 6: have like a big time threat somewhere, you know, like
- 41:45Speaker 6: when Gronk was here, I had no problem with Edelman
- 41:47Speaker 6: catching all those passes, you know, and back when Moss
- 41:50Speaker 6: was here, no problem with Welcome catching up. Like I
- 41:52Speaker 6: just I don't want to get to the point, like
- 41:55Speaker 6: toward the end of Edelman where it was Edelman centric. Yeah,
- 41:58Speaker 6: I don't want a slot sense of offense because to me,
- 42:02Speaker 6: it's it's you.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Think that was kind of being more.
- 42:06Speaker 6: They didn't they didn't have anything else. Yes, he definitely
- 42:09Speaker 6: trusted him more, but like they didn't have options, you know,
- 42:13Speaker 6: Nikhil Harry was supposed to be one of those options
- 42:15Speaker 6: they traded from Mohamed Sanu. He's like they didn't have
- 42:17Speaker 6: any other options. My fear is that you just go
- 42:21Speaker 6: back to what you know, because I think Mike is
- 42:22Speaker 6: kind of right. I think that's what Josh likes. Like
- 42:26Speaker 6: this is, this is I'm going to take my seven
- 42:28Speaker 6: yards and this is depending on Like that's great.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Keep it going, it's great.
- 42:32Speaker 6: And I know it's great when Brady's not going to
- 42:34Speaker 6: miss any of them and you're going to be able
- 42:35Speaker 6: to make it down the field.
- 42:36Speaker 2: What happens if you miss one?
- 42:38Speaker 1: Anthony writes it.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Remandre made a comment regarding the playbook and how Bill
- 42:42Speaker 4: and Josh had yelled at him about this quote same playbook.
- 42:45Speaker 2: That was funny.
- 42:46Speaker 4: I'm not sure if you guys heard the comment, but
- 42:48Speaker 4: I was wondering if you think what you think of
- 42:50Speaker 4: that and how it pertains to Josh being more open
- 42:52Speaker 4: minded and expanding the playbook.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Well, we're Monder at a really tough time his rookie year.
- 42:57Speaker 3: I mean, he'd be the first to tell you did
- 42:59Speaker 3: not oldest yesterday. And it did not start well for him.
- 43:02Speaker 2: He was.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Not ready to participate in practice. I don't want to
- 43:07Speaker 3: speculate on what exactly what the reason, so I'll give.
- 43:09Speaker 6: You I'm just I'm gonna let I'm gonna let facts
- 43:12Speaker 6: speak for facts. Ivan Fears made the comment that he
- 43:15Speaker 6: needed to learn to be a professional.
- 43:17Speaker 2: He made that comment, not me.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Yeah, there's some stuff going on that he was not
- 43:22Speaker 3: ready his rookie training camp. He started a camp on pup,
- 43:25Speaker 3: I believe, and he had a tough rookie year. And
- 43:28Speaker 3: then he was just really talented and they could tell
- 43:30Speaker 3: that he was good enough that he started to play
- 43:32Speaker 3: and started to make some plays. But I think all
- 43:36Speaker 3: of it was a lot for him, you know, obviously
- 43:39Speaker 3: the mental stuff mostly, But I think there was some
- 43:42Speaker 3: physical stuff there too.
- 43:44Speaker 1: So you mentioned Todd Downing, destiny and Peabody rights. In
- 43:50Speaker 1: what is Todd Downing's role?
- 43:52Speaker 4: I've heard people bashing him online also said he's not
- 43:55Speaker 4: the best wide receiver route coach but knows ball.
- 43:58Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that there's some truth to that. You know,
- 44:02Speaker 3: like he's not a wide receivers coach by trade, he's
- 44:06Speaker 3: never had the role before. He's not a former receiver,
- 44:09Speaker 3: Like he's not you know, this isn't Troy Brown, Wes Welker.
- 44:13Speaker 3: You know, it's not in that kind of mold. And
- 44:15Speaker 3: he's new to the position to an extent, and that
- 44:19Speaker 3: does have a small sea concern to me. Not because
- 44:23Speaker 3: he doesn't understand the offense, and I think that's the
- 44:26Speaker 3: ball noer stuff is like he can conceptually teach the offense,
- 44:30Speaker 3: he can teach the plays, and he can teach the
- 44:32Speaker 3: terminology and all that kind of stuff. I have no
- 44:35Speaker 3: concerns about any of that, but top of the route
- 44:38Speaker 3: route releases hand techniques like who is he prepared to
- 44:43Speaker 3: be able to coach Kyle Williams on you know, the
- 44:47Speaker 3: top of the route like you fall stepped here or you,
- 44:49Speaker 3: you know, did this incorrect?
- 44:51Speaker 2: There?
- 44:52Speaker 3: Can he make those types of corrections with no background
- 44:55Speaker 3: with the position. I was a little bit surprised that
- 44:57Speaker 3: they didn't look to highre or even like an assistant
- 45:01Speaker 3: like Taekwon Underwood was last year as somebody that's played
- 45:04Speaker 3: the position before, because it is it can be very
- 45:07Speaker 3: technique based. I think you could teach and coach of
- 45:10Speaker 3: the offense. But we'll see about that kind of stuff.
- 45:14Speaker 3: The details.
- 45:14Speaker 2: It certainly looks different. Like I said earlier in the show.
- 45:17Speaker 8: Whether that translates to more production, I don't know, but
- 45:20Speaker 8: it seems from Afar he has a good grasp of
- 45:23Speaker 8: what they're doing and that they trust him to run
- 45:25Speaker 8: things when they're over on the other field.
- 45:29Speaker 4: Eight five to five pass five hundred is the hotline
- 45:31Speaker 4: Christians in La.
- 45:32Speaker 1: What's up Christian?
- 45:34Speaker 10: Hey you guys, good afternoon, and thanks for taking my
- 45:37Speaker 10: call here in La where the tighth grade have everyone
- 45:40Speaker 10: a little bit nervous and crazy things are happening. But
- 45:43Speaker 10: on to football. David Andrews amazing player, great leadership. I
- 45:50Speaker 10: hope we have someone who have played that part of
- 45:52Speaker 10: what he meant to the Patriots. Obviously we have a
- 45:55Speaker 10: couple of new guys that we have a bookie to
- 45:57Speaker 10: look at. So I think we're gonna be okay, hey there,
- 46:00Speaker 10: but yeah, David Andrews will surely be missing. I deluded
- 46:03Speaker 10: them as went on the Patriots soldiers. I do have
- 46:06Speaker 10: a bone to pick with Evan. Please shut up about
- 46:11Speaker 10: Kendrick Bourne. Kendrick Bourne never was a number one receiver,
- 46:16Speaker 10: never even was a really great contributed one good year,
- 46:18Speaker 10: and you just hang on to this guy and get
- 46:20Speaker 10: hanging on to him. And I think what we should
- 46:22Speaker 10: do is get rid of this guy right now. We
- 46:24Speaker 10: can probably get a seventh round pick for him. Go
- 46:27Speaker 10: with the young stable that we have right now, trust
- 46:29Speaker 10: Josh to get the best side these guys, and move
- 46:31Speaker 10: on from guys that were either too hurt or to
- 46:33Speaker 10: un productive to really matter at the Patriots. I know
- 46:36Speaker 10: you like him, I don't know why.
- 46:37Speaker 3: Christian, When did I talk about Kendrick Born?
- 46:41Speaker 2: Haven't want up about Kennan Bourn.
- 46:44Speaker 11: Single time, every single time Kendrick Bourne comes up, So
- 46:47Speaker 11: you are primarily the only one defending him. You have
- 46:49Speaker 11: some sort of fantasy about him one day being productive
- 46:52Speaker 11: and good, all that kind of suffaration.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Are you trolling? Evan.
- 46:59Speaker 10: You know, God, could you can be honest? Every time
- 47:02Speaker 10: we talk about Kendrick Bourne, who's the only one that defends.
- 47:05Speaker 3: In defending Evan, I don't know. I have no idea
- 47:09Speaker 3: what you're talking about.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Christian. I'm not gonna happened.
- 47:11Speaker 1: On the show. I wasn't here.
- 47:12Speaker 10: I'm really the only one that that for some reason
- 47:14Speaker 10: wants to keep Kendrick Bourne every time it comes up.
- 47:17Speaker 10: Everyone else.
- 47:17Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 47:19Speaker 4: I don't remember him like saying, oh he's a lock
- 47:23Speaker 4: or we should keep him. I think he talks about
- 47:25Speaker 4: him in objective terms.
- 47:28Speaker 1: But yeah, he thinks he's.
- 47:29Speaker 9: Going to be good.
- 47:30Speaker 10: He thinks he's going to contribute someday. He will never contribute.
- 47:34Speaker 6: Do you try to get differently on Catch twenty two
- 47:36Speaker 6: or something. I've never heard you say anything over the top,
- 47:40Speaker 6: complimentary or negatively born on this show.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Fine, never once.
- 47:45Speaker 6: Fine, And you guys know me, I kind of remember
- 47:47Speaker 6: random nonsense.
- 47:48Speaker 3: I mean, I had a nice practice last week, but
- 47:51Speaker 3: I was just evaluated to practice. I don't know.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sorry, I'll guy.
- 47:58Speaker 8: You have two many questions at this position to just
- 48:02Speaker 8: be jettison guys that have I.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Know he's not a number one, but you uncertainty with
- 48:06Speaker 2: digs in his.
- 48:08Speaker 8: Let him compete and if and if he plays well
- 48:11Speaker 8: this summer, he's going to earn a job. And if
- 48:12Speaker 8: he doesn't play well, then he's not gonna I'll.
- 48:14Speaker 6: Tell you who I think is going to take who
- 48:17Speaker 6: has been taking steps toward that is Booty to me,
- 48:20Speaker 6: I feel like he looks like he is one of
- 48:22Speaker 6: the guys. Every practice that we've seen he showed up.
- 48:27Speaker 2: He's carried over the confidence of the last year, and
- 48:29Speaker 2: he's not a report with Drake may I mean that's
- 48:31Speaker 2: absolutely last year.
- 48:33Speaker 6: And that comment that Rabel made not yesterday but the
- 48:35Speaker 6: last time that he because he didn't speak yesterday Vrabel
- 48:38Speaker 6: the last time about him being in better shape, he
- 48:42Speaker 6: got in better shape for the OTAs it shows like
- 48:45Speaker 6: I think that he has been a very active part
- 48:48Speaker 6: of the offense. And all three of the practices we
- 48:50Speaker 6: got to see with the full team revival of the fittest.
- 48:54Speaker 6: Whoever the five or six guys that played the best
- 48:57Speaker 6: should stay and if Boone's not one of those, he
- 49:00Speaker 6: goes right.
- 49:00Speaker 8: I give you credit for that one, Paul, because I
- 49:02Speaker 8: think a lot of people were ready to just toss
- 49:04Speaker 8: Booty out even after last year.
- 49:06Speaker 2: And you made the point he was these You made a.
- 49:09Speaker 8: Point a few shows ago where guy's a second year
- 49:11Speaker 8: player who had a little bit of a breakout year
- 49:13Speaker 8: and you know, in an offense that wasn't great last year,
- 49:15Speaker 8: why would you be so quick to dismiss him.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Maybe he will build on that.
- 49:20Speaker 6: If you wanted to bring in three guys like Diggs, Yeah, okay,
- 49:24Speaker 6: there's probably no room for for Booty or Born, but
- 49:28Speaker 6: you brought in one. So now let the other guys
- 49:32Speaker 6: fight and see who's who's better.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Right. Yeah.
- 49:35Speaker 6: I've had two different media people tell me sneaky surprise cut,
- 49:40Speaker 6: keep Matt Collins. I don't see it. I think he's
- 49:43Speaker 6: dealing with something physically, and that's why we haven't really
- 49:45Speaker 6: seen him on the field yet. But I don't dismiss
- 49:48Speaker 6: when people have those because I don't know who you're
- 49:50Speaker 6: talking to, and I don't dismiss anybody out of hand.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Kamel and Georgia wants to know did the Tavy injury
- 49:56Speaker 4: look bad? If he's out for a while, do the
- 49:58Speaker 4: Patriots have enough depth to replace him?
- 50:01Speaker 2: It did look serious. I don't want to speculate, but
- 50:03Speaker 2: it did look serious.
- 50:04Speaker 8: He was down for a while. Guys were around him.
- 50:06Speaker 8: He had to be helped off, and I do. I mean,
- 50:08Speaker 8: I see on beatlen Zoe right now. A minute ago
- 50:10Speaker 8: they were talking about it whether or not Jilani to
- 50:12Speaker 8: Buy makes the team.
- 50:13Speaker 2: I think he does make the team. I think it
- 50:15Speaker 2: he's healthy. I think he makes it because I don't
- 50:17Speaker 2: think they have any depth at that position.
- 50:19Speaker 8: Right and I think there's a good chance that he's
- 50:21Speaker 8: maybe your main guy next to Spoline, not based defense.
- 50:24Speaker 6: You know, and that you know, when Evan was talking
- 50:25Speaker 6: about the plays, That's why I thought that was a
- 50:27Speaker 6: really good point about Josh making the comment about the play.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Some of these plays are new.
- 50:31Speaker 6: Yeah, Spoin, you know, remember when Evan was talking about
- 50:34Speaker 6: Spoilin was like everywhere in the backfield, and maybe they
- 50:38Speaker 6: just said, you know what, retired of them blowing up
- 50:40Speaker 6: our practices. They're going to give him a couple of
- 50:41Speaker 6: new things to look at that they're not ready.
- 50:43Speaker 1: For spiin Fresno yesterday's practice.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Aside, is there potential incompatibility between how prescribed and demanding
- 50:51Speaker 4: McDaniel's offense is and how much of a gun slinger
- 50:54Speaker 4: Drake is By nature. I wonder if loading up Drake's
- 50:57Speaker 4: brain to make him a game manager will get in
- 51:00Speaker 4: the way of his instinctive play style, which he hasn't
- 51:03Speaker 4: even wrangled yet.
- 51:05Speaker 2: I would hope that they meet in the middle.
- 51:06Speaker 8: That the Gunslinger needs a little bit of the consistency
- 51:09Speaker 8: in his game, just like you can't win a game
- 51:12Speaker 8: like Alex Smith where you're just being consistent with short passes.
- 51:14Speaker 8: You need to have some explosiveness too, So hopefully they
- 51:17Speaker 8: meet in the middle.
- 51:18Speaker 2: But I understand the point.
- 51:19Speaker 4: Okay, uh Jack and an Abba has some really old
- 51:23Speaker 4: sitcom references in this email, says I can't help seeing
- 51:27Speaker 4: that the members of the PU team remind me of
- 51:30Speaker 4: TV sitcom characters who can deny that Fred is the
- 51:33Speaker 4: skipper from Gilligan's Island.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Hey, little Buddy, Who's little Buddy? Paul is Oliver from
- 51:39Speaker 1: Green Acres? Say like, people wouldn't even know that? Is
- 51:42Speaker 1: it Oliver the Pig?
- 51:43Speaker 3: I don't have no idea that I know.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Oliver's Eddie Albert, Yeah, the matriarch.
- 51:48Speaker 4: What does the pig haven't name Wilburt? Oh, Wilburt, I
- 51:53Speaker 4: don't know. Deuce is Adobe from the Adobe Gillis show.
- 51:57Speaker 4: Now that's like a fifty sitcom.
- 51:59Speaker 6: And that's that's Gillian, right, that's Bob Denver.
- 52:06Speaker 4: I don't know, And of course Evan is Jim Parsons
- 52:09Speaker 4: from Big Bang Theory.
- 52:11Speaker 8: Okay, three sitcoms the fifties and then like today.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't really look.
- 52:18Speaker 6: I could see you're a skipper thing, but you don't
- 52:20Speaker 6: really get my my all of the thing.
- 52:22Speaker 2: I think it's back.
- 52:24Speaker 6: Well, maybe it's because of your uh your like je reference.
- 52:28Speaker 6: That wasn't the wife on that, so that maybe that
- 52:32Speaker 6: was my my wife.
- 52:34Speaker 2: Was she on Chicago Pope?
- 52:35Speaker 6: She was not on Chicago. She didn't get picked up
- 52:38Speaker 6: in syndication. I think she was in the pilot.
- 52:41Speaker 3: She might have been in like an episode. She like
- 52:43Speaker 3: a two episodes on the IMDb, it just says one episode.
- 52:46Speaker 8: She's a parishioner that the Chicago Pope suspected.
- 52:48Speaker 1: But it's just.
- 52:49Speaker 4: Did Jeremiah says, I don't know if that guy just
- 52:53Speaker 4: hates watch, hate watches Evan or just wants everyone to
- 52:57Speaker 4: bash Born. But the only takes I've heard Evan given
- 52:59Speaker 4: about Born is that he has experienced in this offense
- 53:02Speaker 4: and he was having his best season with Josh. So
- 53:05Speaker 4: I don't know what kind of glue that guy was sniffing.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's a fact. That's not even a man.
- 53:10Speaker 6: He had eight hundred yards with Josh Matinals in twenty one. Yeah,
- 53:14Speaker 6: it was his best career season.
- 53:16Speaker 8: Facts, and he's now a full year removed from an
- 53:18Speaker 8: ecl So traditionally you said to Paul they had a
- 53:20Speaker 8: slow star for him, like just wait and see. All
- 53:23Speaker 8: you do is complain about how they have no wide
- 53:25Speaker 8: receivers and you get out anybody the best close to good?
- 53:28Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, he's not awesome. We got to
- 53:30Speaker 2: get like, right, what do we have? Right?
- 53:32Speaker 3: I mean you have they have twelve receivers.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Weeks, twelve weeks to make these decisions. Still, Booty, twelve receivers,
- 53:38Speaker 2: probably six of us are going to be around.
- 53:40Speaker 3: It does kind of stick out though, And I know
- 53:41Speaker 3: it's a voluntary portion. I'm not like, I'm not for
- 53:44Speaker 3: scolding veteran guys that don't come to all the OTAs,
- 53:47Speaker 3: but like it's a competitive room. And Kendrick Bourne wasn't
- 53:50Speaker 3: out there yesterday, and like I did it did dawn
- 53:53Speaker 3: on me, Like okay, well you're not out there and
- 53:56Speaker 3: Chisholm's making plays and Booty's making plays, and I mean know,
- 53:59Speaker 3: Kyle Williams, this is going to be here. And now
- 54:01Speaker 3: Diggs is back in practice, and it's like you got
- 54:04Speaker 3: to make your own print on this cap.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Norman Daytona Beach says, I think the previous caller is
- 54:09Speaker 4: mixing up his talk shows. I think Zoe is the
- 54:12Speaker 4: Kendrick fan. I've never heard Evan go crazy overborn. Great
- 54:16Speaker 4: point by Mike. We're not in a position to dump
- 54:18Speaker 4: receivers until we know what we have. And the pig
- 54:20Speaker 4: was Arnold, Arnold, Arnold, not Wilburt. All Right, I smell
- 54:25Speaker 4: fool cause foods here. So we'll take a break and
- 54:29Speaker 4: we'll be right back after this. Whether you're in the
- 54:32Speaker 4: game or betting on the game, you'll need a game plan.

- 56:19Speaker 13: It's been like a week, two weeks. You missed the
- 56:21Speaker 13: last one I did.
- 56:22Speaker 5: It's in a minute. Yeah, but now we're doing without Cassidy.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we're back.
- 56:26Speaker 2: We're back.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Guys.
- 56:27Speaker 13: We read your emails that don't get read on the show,
- 56:29Speaker 13: so if it doesn't get right on the show, we'll
- 56:31Speaker 13: read it.
- 56:31Speaker 1: So let's get into it.
- 56:33Speaker 13: Logan from Myrtle Beach Uniforms Easy uniform adjustment will be
- 56:37Speaker 13: blueberry tops, white throwback pants and white throwback helmet.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Clean classic mix of old and new. I don't really
- 56:44Speaker 1: feel about that one.
- 56:45Speaker 14: It depends for me on like what the stripe, the
- 56:48Speaker 14: profile of the stripe is on the side, because if
- 56:51Speaker 14: it doesn't like that's a big criticism of the silver
- 56:54Speaker 14: pants with the blueberry top is that you can tell
- 56:57Speaker 14: it doesn't match, and I think it has to do
- 56:59Speaker 14: with the stripe pattern.
- 57:00Speaker 1: It's crazy because I think it was it was nine.
- 57:02Speaker 13: I think it was nine when the NFL did all
- 57:04Speaker 13: the throwback jerseys and then like they stopped for a
- 57:07Speaker 13: while to coming back. I know we're getting the Rivalry Jersey.
- 57:09Speaker 13: I don't know what it looks like. I know, have
- 57:11Speaker 13: you seen it? I haven't, so I'm excited for that.
- 57:13Speaker 13: I think the fans will be happy. From what I've heard,
- 57:15Speaker 13: I think they'll be happy.
- 57:17Speaker 14: I just think they're itching for anything new, and I honestly,
- 57:20Speaker 14: I wonder if the blueberries would be as criticized as
- 57:24Speaker 14: they are if we had just been more successful in them.
- 57:26Speaker 13: I also want to say, and I've said this since
- 57:29Speaker 13: day one, because the blueberry is pretty much the color
- 57:31Speaker 13: rush Jersey.
- 57:32Speaker 1: It was good.
- 57:35Speaker 14: Tom Brady. So that's what you wonder, right.
- 57:39Speaker 13: Just bland and point. I want the Royal Blues. I
- 57:41Speaker 13: don't think it's going to happen.
- 57:42Speaker 14: I would I would like to party the Bloodsoe Blues,
- 57:47Speaker 14: but I don't think it's.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Going to happen. I think we're a better chance of
- 57:49Speaker 1: getting I want the all white.
- 57:51Speaker 13: The all white away for a throwback would be okay,
- 57:54Speaker 13: but you know, we love we love our I.
- 57:56Speaker 5: Do love the all white throwbacks too.
- 57:58Speaker 1: I think they wore, especially when they start to get like.
- 58:00Speaker 5: The grass stains on them and stuff.
- 58:01Speaker 1: That's tough football should be played on grass. I'll stand
- 58:04Speaker 1: on that. Oh yeah, all right. Entrance song.
- 58:07Speaker 13: This has been a big topic of the past week.
- 58:10Speaker 13: Hey guys, I listened to the podcast after they're published,
- 58:13Speaker 13: going back to last Thursday and the conversation of entrance songs.
- 58:16Speaker 13: If not Hells and Bells by ACDC, why not see
- 58:19Speaker 13: if aerosmith from Boston can write something? Or living on
- 58:22Speaker 13: the Edge is a good one of them or a
- 58:24Speaker 13: good one for them. Not necessarily the beginning of it,
- 58:26Speaker 13: but if you started the course, that could be something
- 58:28Speaker 13: to work with. Father Fred did say it needs to
- 58:31Speaker 13: have an edge. There you go, Thanks all, Jeff and Hickory,
- 58:33Speaker 13: North Carolina Southern Patriot. I think we need something like
- 58:38Speaker 13: was it Crazy Train?
- 58:39Speaker 1: Yeah? I was over it, but it was like a staple.
- 58:43Speaker 14: My thing is, if we're freshening it up, why are
- 58:46Speaker 14: we sticking with like the same era and genre?
- 58:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 58:50Speaker 5: I agree, like there's news. I don't know.
- 58:54Speaker 14: I think you either have to stick with the classic honestly,
- 58:57Speaker 14: and I'll probably discuss this on the show later today
- 59:00Speaker 14: because I'm.
- 59:00Speaker 5: Sure it'll come up again.
- 59:02Speaker 14: But I think that there's not real rock bands like
- 59:06Speaker 14: there were Evan brought this up, and some people were
- 59:09Speaker 14: upset about it. But like, I think that the rock
- 59:11Speaker 14: bands of our generation are like emo rock bands or
- 59:15Speaker 14: like alternative rock.
- 59:18Speaker 15: It's not even that, but like the Blink one two
- 59:21Speaker 15: and like I don't know, like Nirvana kind of came
- 59:23Speaker 15: in and changed the game with rock bands like it
- 59:25Speaker 15: becing more grungy and alternative, and then it just kind
- 59:29Speaker 15: of morphed into emo and now it's like the Google
- 59:33Speaker 15: likes more soft rock.
- 59:34Speaker 5: You know.
- 59:34Speaker 14: Like I think, if you really want it to sound fresh,
- 59:38Speaker 14: and I don't know how you would do this because
- 59:40Speaker 14: you'd have to find an appropriate song, But I think
- 59:43Speaker 14: to get the energy that you want, you gotta go
- 59:46Speaker 14: hip hop.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Fair I'll say, what about what about Lincoln Park Numb.
- 59:53Speaker 5: Could be fun?
- 59:56Speaker 1: I don't know, no, but I'm with you.
- 59:57Speaker 14: I think I have to go to hip hop or
- 59:58Speaker 14: like the Killers, I love the so A Bias or
- 1:00:03Speaker 14: like there's see the Killers don't get enough love for
- 1:00:06Speaker 14: their other songs, like the Mister Brightside is like, in
- 1:00:09Speaker 14: my opinion, like their third best song.
- 1:00:12Speaker 13: It's good good shout there, No, it's I do wonder
- 1:00:15Speaker 13: if I mean it's gonna change this year?
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: Right?
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll see.
- 1:00:18Speaker 14: Well, I mean, what do you do because last year
- 1:00:20Speaker 14: it was kind of like a remix? And then do
- 1:00:23Speaker 14: you go back to the og or do you keep
- 1:00:24Speaker 14: the remix? I feel like you might have switched all.
- 1:00:27Speaker 13: You could write a feature on finding the entrance song
- 1:00:31Speaker 13: they get Rabel and the Captains and go from there.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Okay, look at that.
- 1:00:35Speaker 13: There go all right, one more, I haven't Knocking on
- 1:00:38Speaker 13: the Door by r Kels has every element you need.
- 1:00:41Speaker 13: Cheers Randy n Oliver. The second, I've never heard of
- 1:00:44Speaker 13: that song.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: It's I don't think it's the song I'm thinking of it.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: If I haven't heard of it, it's not happening.
- 1:00:52Speaker 14: Someone make a Spotify playlist with all of this.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Well, yeah, okay, I like that. All right.
- 1:01:00Speaker 13: Jaws and Fred Kelly from Salt Lake. I've been listening
- 1:01:03Speaker 13: for quite a few years. In the early years of
- 1:01:04Speaker 13: my listening, I recall hearing something called freda palooza. I
- 1:01:08Speaker 13: had no idea that Fred lives on the Cape long Drive.
- 1:01:11Speaker 13: He should throw another one Joss themed and have movies
- 1:01:13Speaker 13: playing on the projector for the TV for the whole party.
- 1:01:16Speaker 14: Okay, so this email did get red, but I wasn't
- 1:01:19Speaker 14: on the show, so I'm glad it's being.
- 1:01:21Speaker 13: Because you're the culprit. Right, you haven't seen Jaws.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: I haven't seen Jaws one and two.
- 1:01:28Speaker 14: I think Fred should continue to host freda Palooza because
- 1:01:33Speaker 14: I understand that it's much further now and people want
- 1:01:35Speaker 14: to drink. But if we're all getting together to rage
- 1:01:39Speaker 14: in friend's backyard, like people would get hotel rooms, I.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Also have hotels on the cave.
- 1:01:45Speaker 13: I have Boston Coach on speed dial now from all
- 1:01:47Speaker 13: the events we're throwing, so we could just use them, right,
- 1:01:51Speaker 13: A party less buzz bus. Make the buzz bus from
- 1:01:54Speaker 13: the stadium of the cave.
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: Now we're talking, or what's the what's the lower cape?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: The fund the punk yep, that would be that.
- 1:02:02Speaker 14: Funk of us is taking us to front of play.
- 1:02:04Speaker 13: And we'll play the playlist that a PU listener will
- 1:02:07Speaker 13: make of all the entrance songs for the drive and
- 1:02:09Speaker 13: then we'll pick one that weekend.
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: All right, we gotta tell Fred that we're throwing a
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: party at his house.
- 1:02:14Speaker 13: All right, One more music thing because this is the
- 1:02:16Speaker 13: topic of the week. Hi'all, there's an outside suggestion for
- 1:02:20Speaker 13: a pregame hype song more on the role of the
- 1:02:22Speaker 13: new Carmina Burana than.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Crazy Train, the main theme for Fallout four.
- 1:02:26Speaker 13: It's epic, iconic, has roots in Boston, and it's not
- 1:02:29Speaker 13: only the most popular game in the Fallout series, but
- 1:02:31Speaker 13: it takes place in Boston.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: With Fallout in multiple With Fallout.
- 1:02:36Speaker 13: Coming out on Amazon, this isn't as obscure reference as
- 1:02:39Speaker 13: it once was, but it still lands out of the boring,
- 1:02:41Speaker 13: overdone suggestions. Try picturing up the build up to the
- 1:02:44Speaker 13: main course. I don't know anything about music, starting with
- 1:02:47Speaker 13: Gill and Gino's iconic Early Dynasty. Don't know who that is?
- 1:02:50Speaker 13: Oh wait, nope, Jilling. Sorry I thought it was Sky.
- 1:02:52Speaker 13: My bad, Sorry, my bad. I thought those were Fallout characters.
- 1:02:57Speaker 13: That's my bad Early Dynasty calls and progressing into the
- 1:03:01Speaker 13: second half when the when the drop hits and the
- 1:03:03Speaker 13: focus gets shifted to the new era of the Patriots,
- 1:03:05Speaker 13: like Rabel Drake Gonzo in a way, it's symbolic of
- 1:03:07Speaker 13: one of the great Patriots getting nuked and needing the rebuild.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: He sends the link. I'm not gonna play it.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: I'm unfamiliar.
- 1:03:14Speaker 13: I think we need to hear about hear the theme
- 1:03:16Speaker 13: once the show comes out and then we can judge
- 1:03:19Speaker 13: that'll be a twenty twenty six issue.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: But I think make that playlist house. He might need it.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: You're a Drake guy.
- 1:03:25Speaker 14: I'm surprised you haven't suggested like trophies like you have
- 1:03:28Speaker 14: the horns that.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Made it. I mean, yeah, I would love that. I'd
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: be dancing on the field.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: That's that's good hype song.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Yeah, just no Kendrick, Just no Kendrick.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: He's not in that song.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I know. I'm just saying for the song, no Ken,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: but no, Drake has a bunch of bangers.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: He does. But like trophies feels good, Yes, and they
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: have them.
- 1:03:49Speaker 14: It's just the horns at the beginning of the song
- 1:03:51Speaker 14: too that I feel like it gives like marching band,
- 1:03:56Speaker 14: like a march, like when college marching bands do trophies.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: It sounds so like or the LSU song. That'd be great. Yeah,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I'll see will Will Campbell. But all right, development should
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: get a marching band. We'll get the one from Gibson's
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: in Germany. All right, Developmental League. I love the Spring
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: League idea.
- 1:04:14Speaker 13: I live out in Western mass and I go to school,
- 1:04:16Speaker 13: and I go to I love to go to Springfield
- 1:04:19Speaker 13: Thunderbird hockey games. Each NFL team should get a UFL affiliate,
- 1:04:23Speaker 13: and then that team should act as a team's practice
- 1:04:25Speaker 13: squad during the regular season. I mean, I don't think
- 1:04:28Speaker 13: the practice squad thing't work, but there needs to be
- 1:04:31Speaker 13: a way to make the UFL work because I think
- 1:04:33Speaker 13: I heard Evan say the league is just not doing well.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:04:39Speaker 13: As I've worked here, I've learned that I actually don't
- 1:04:42Speaker 13: fiend for spring football anymore.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I need a break of it. That's something like I
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: used to.
- 1:04:47Speaker 13: When I was younger. It was like spring football XFL. Yes,
- 1:04:49Speaker 13: And now I'm just kind of like, no, I can wait.
- 1:04:51Speaker 14: Tall And then like then it becomes an issue because
- 1:04:54Speaker 14: like part of the reason you have a practice squad
- 1:04:57Speaker 14: team is to help with depth, if for in but
- 1:05:00Speaker 14: then if these guys are also playing risking injury every week.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: Yeah, it should get into some bad situation.
- 1:05:09Speaker 13: I don't know, I just I think they why can't
- 1:05:11Speaker 13: they just expand the practice squad like it could. How
- 1:05:16Speaker 13: they did it during COVID was great because it was
- 1:05:17Speaker 13: like you get the IR slot and then they could
- 1:05:19Speaker 13: get off by or go back on. I know they
- 1:05:21Speaker 13: changed it a little because now I think you can
- 1:05:22Speaker 13: only go off once.
- 1:05:23Speaker 14: And then they give you the extra player on the
- 1:05:25Speaker 14: roster for the international pathway too.
- 1:05:28Speaker 13: It's at the end of the day, football is too
- 1:05:30Speaker 13: violent and dangerous to sport to like just have a
- 1:05:33Speaker 13: developmental league or like that's why the Pro Bowl doesn't
- 1:05:36Speaker 13: work or didn't work.
- 1:05:37Speaker 14: So I wonder if they, like the NBA has the
- 1:05:40Speaker 14: G League where kids can now opt out of college.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe with.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: But now with the how the NCAA is looking.
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: Now, you're incentivized to go to college exactly. I don't know.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Should there would have made more money.
- 1:05:51Speaker 14: If he says is an issue that's way out of
- 1:05:53Speaker 14: my Yeah, my description.
- 1:05:56Speaker 13: And my capability we need this is that's a catch
- 1:05:59Speaker 13: twenty two question. All right, that's it, guys, thank you
- 1:06:03Speaker 13: for the listening to PU Extra once again. Send your
- 1:06:06Speaker 13: emails to podcasts at Patriots dot com. If it doesn't
- 1:06:08Speaker 13: get right on the show, we'll read it.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: And now great moments in history, animals get in.
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: I put a bunch of cord over mine, but that
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: doesn't take it.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: It doesn't.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: I just put a bunch of cord over the lids,
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: so the animal.
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: So Eric and I just like, wait until the morning
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: when I wake up, take the barrel and push it
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: out in from the garage to the front.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: And I know you might you might have a lot.
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: You have to take it on the grounds, so from
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: your house to the street is.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Probably, But I also have humbersome projects like me. It's
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: like two inches. But you know I don't have sandwich.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: The sandwich you get deliveries, yes, okay, wait right, so
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: when you get your deligen you immediately break down the
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: box when you get it.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Yes, I don't. Yeah, of course I wait.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: I wait until what I wait until trash night and
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: then I break down the box.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: It depends like I'll take it. I'll take the biggest potion.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: No it's not. That's very efficient take off.
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: I get it. Throw a lot of stuff in that
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: that bigger box. As long as it taking a break
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: down a box.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: It depends on how many deliveries I got.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: No, but I mean like your average box you take,
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: you get like a knife or a billion or something.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: It takes auple of minutes, a couple of minutes. Yeah,
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: it takes five seconds. Five seconds?
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: What are you, Jeanie, what are you?
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Five seconds? You cut that? You cut you gotta break
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: it down, you gotta fold it up. That doesn't take
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: ten minutes for it.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I didn't say ten minutes, did I say ten minutes?
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: That's another great moment from Hey.
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: I want to introduce and welcome a new sponsor to
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: the show, Brunt Workwear, based right here in New England.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Bront Workwear makes work boots and apparel that are built
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: for the job site. Their gear is comfortable, durable and
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: named after the real workers in the trades that help
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: design it. You can even try brunt out on the
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: job and if it doesn't blow you away, they let you.
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Say in the back I like that.
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: Save ten dollars on your first order at Brontworkwear dot
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: com forward forward slash pay.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: How do I screw that up?
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: Is Brontworkwear dot com forward slash pats, so you know
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: Pats or with.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Coupon code Pats.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: So I tell you we missed out if bront Workwear
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: was here During the drum, Remember how I was saying
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: the draft was a workman like going to wear work
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: clothes to the no tuxedo. We could have run on
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: the drafts, so they would have been perfect for that
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: blue collar draft that we had.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: All right, maybe we can resuscitate it for last year.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: It's great on board, but fortune in Foxborough, we're working here,
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: we're building foundation.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: We've got the new facility, the training.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: Facility at Opportunity. It's going to be open here. So
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: perfect time for bront workwere to.
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: Join the fold, Yeah, saying we could outfit Evan and
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: get him in see some yardwork.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: He's going to look the part now and we'll get
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: a mow in, you know, edging the mulch.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: So I'll tell our friends that front workwear right now,
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: you get us some stuff, we'll wear it on air.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Sure, not that you.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: Know people seeing us where your stuff will be that
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: great of an advertisement, but hey, I'll definitely use it
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: around that three of us.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Are going to use stuff outside and absolutely.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: I'm going to do.
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: All right front workwear. So I I have to mention
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: I was very, very very upset yesterday on social media
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: because Rodolfo sent me a tweet about this hotel that
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: started making soap in the shape of a circle, with
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: the idea that now you don't have that part in
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: the middle, that you don't know what to do. And
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: I was so upset because it made absolutely no sense.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: I don't care what shape the soap is, you're always
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: going to end up with part of it that you
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: don't know what to do with at the end. And
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: even in a circle, it's even worse because it's going
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: to break in two pieces, and then you have two
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: pieces you don't know what to do with. So it
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: just got me so upset that this was being compared
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: to soap with a slot, which is a more elegant
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: solution to the problem.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Of the soap wafer. A circle soap makes no sense.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: So I feel like I've experienced the circle soap before,
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: like an.
- 1:10:23Speaker 16: Hotel stuff like that, right, sure, yeah, well, but hotel
- 1:10:26Speaker 16: soap by nature is wasted because no one ever uses
- 1:10:30Speaker 16: hotel soap to the end and use it to the
- 1:10:32Speaker 16: end of your stay, and then it just sits there
- 1:10:34Speaker 16: and I assume they just throw it out right.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: Now, a lot of hotels we stay at, how they
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: have body water. Now they have liquid soap, which actually
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: makes a lot of sense when you think about it,
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: because it cost effective.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it just sits in there. You buy by the gallon.
- 1:10:45Speaker 8: You're not using extra plastic products, right sot.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: But this, this circle soap really really pissed me off.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Slot to put the other piece into to continue that he's.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Not going it's not effectively addressing the problem.
- 1:11:02Speaker 8: Right, And in the perfect world you'll be like, I
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: haven't thrown out a piece of soap in like twenty years.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: Do you still use bars?
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: I still use the bar?
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I'm a loofa guy.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: So you put this liquid on.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: I do a couple of pumps in the loof and yeah.
- 1:11:18Speaker 4: Yeah, see, I think liquid soap is very wasteful. Actually
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: I'm wear bar people. Yeah, I think you use end
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: up using a lot the liquid soap.
- 1:11:28Speaker 8: Well, if you got the pump, I just do two
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: pumps and then and you never waste any because at
- 1:11:31Speaker 8: the end you put a little water in there and
- 1:11:32Speaker 8: you swoll.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: The loofa makes it because then it stays soapy. But
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: if you use your hand like you have to go
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: back to the many times one pump in a shower,
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: how do you get your whole body of one pump?
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: But I've lost some weight Forriddy, I'm not as big as.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: I's true, that is true.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: I'm with so already. That's all that surface area, that's all.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: It takes.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: One pumps, like just one pump these days.
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, that one's gone from Texas to Island.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I mean in terms of surface area.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: That was the compliment.
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: I think maybe I'm still on on the one pump.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: All right, let's see who's sending me this.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: This is somebody named Caveman Curtis, says.
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: Sequon Barkley said in a podcast a few weeks ago
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: that last year's Eagles were top five.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: NFL team of all time.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: I strongly disagree with this take, but I'm curious your thoughts.
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: What would be your top five NFL teams of all time? His,
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: in no particular order, would be the seventy two Dolphins,
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: the eighty four, forty nine Ers, the four patriotsation, the
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: ninety nine Rams, and the eighty five Bears.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Huh, good teams, A pretty good list.
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: Eighty five Bears would be in a very small list
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: for me, like just one season.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they're the greatest team of all time
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: for one season.
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: Yeah, it's hard to argue against that. I've heard a
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: lot of people that are a lot smarter than me
- 1:13:00Speaker 6: throw the ninety one Redskins in this, and I think
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: it's an Aaron Shatz thing. It's a football outside of
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: it's the greatest single season DVOA.
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: I've seen this on.
- 1:13:11Speaker 6: Twitter occasionally over the years. But the eighty four or
- 1:13:15Speaker 6: forty nine Ers that was a fifteen to one team
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: also and they were dominant.
- 1:13:21Speaker 8: Yeah, any of the Cowboys teams in the nineties, they
- 1:13:24Speaker 8: would they scratch the surface at all.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you probably make an argument. I don't know which
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: one of the best.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: I don't know for complete teams, but.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Pretty good defensively too.
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: I mean, the two thousand and seven Patriots are the
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: best team I've ever seen, and I.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Know they didn't finish the job. But in the modern era,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: if we're talking about the greatest teams ever, greatest team
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: to not win a Super Bowl.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think they're probably in the conversation,
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: even though they didn't even win the win the Super pow.
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: The second question with that from Caveman Curtis is if
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: you combine each of the Patriots dynasty eras and then
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: had them go head to head, team would win. So
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: we're talking one through four verse fourteen through eighteen.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: Oh, so like a compositive two, I.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Would say fourteen to eight.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: It's so hard because of Brady.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Brady got better, right, So that's why I would say, do.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: But the defense got worse.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: In fourteen, I would argue that the defense was pretty good.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: I just think Brady and fourteen to eighteen is the
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: best player in the league. You know, you know, MVP
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: every single year. I totally get your reass so I
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: think he'd be better than himself.
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: I think the fourteen was the best team out of
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: all of them, followed by fourteen. But I like Evans
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: argument because you can't make an argument that Brady was
- 1:14:44Speaker 6: the same guy the second time around.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: It is the first time. If you could add O
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: seven to the mix, I think that might flip it
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: for me.
- 1:14:50Speaker 8: If you could get Moss onto that team with Dylan.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: And the defense and the how you're talking.
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: I mean forty, I just felt so that was the
- 1:15:02Speaker 6: height of the this game is over face.
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: In four they could beat you so many different ways.
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: In one and O three, they kind of had to
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: get the lead, They kind of had to stay close,
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: keep the game low scoring, and Brady would find a way.
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: If they had to come from behind at the end,
- 1:15:18Speaker 6: Brady would do it. Four could beat you any way
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: you wanted, Like if you wanted to throw the ball
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: fifty times, they could. If you wanted to run the
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: ball fifty times, they could. If you wanted to play
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: a defensive slug fest, they could.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: They could beat.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: The Corey Dylan Cherry on top.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: He was just great.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: Completed that Ellen, Wisconsin couple soap emails.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I knew this was going to happen, of.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: Course, he says it. Like with the stand. I knew
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: this was going to happen. You're the one that open,
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: he says.
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: I use what is basically a loofah that you can
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: put a bar of soap inside, so you easily use
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: the whole thing and just put the next one in
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: when it stops getting sudsy.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: That's a good idea.
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: I like that.
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: On the other hand, Pascal writes in He says, Fred,
- 1:16:05Speaker 4: you're supposed to take the sliver of soap at the
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: end and squeeze it into the concave part of the
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: new bar. Then it dries and attaches to each other,
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: and you don't waste anything.
- 1:16:15Speaker 14: Wrong.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: I've tried that.
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: It comes apart, it doesn't stay attached, and not all
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: bars have a concave part.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: So wrong, Pascal, you can't do it. It doesn't.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: It doesn't stay attached. I've seen it done wrong. You
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: really got to push it.
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's still Yeah, it doesn't get wet, not
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: full proof.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Did you wet both sides before you try to put
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: it together?
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: Because you got to wet both sides, both sides of the.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Soap, the new soap and the old sofa.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I do it while I'm in the shower, so everything's wet.
- 1:16:44Speaker 9: Well.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: See that's the problem. Fred, You're too You're too distracted
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: by taking a shower. You gotta get out and do
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: that one think where you're fully focised.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Okay, in a.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Controlled environment shower. You got way too much water coming down.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: It's hard.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: We have we have a very nice soap. Actually just
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: got it from the this woman I think that goes
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: to the Big Ee every year. She has like a
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: stand of the Biggie and she makes the soap herself
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: next to the fried oreoles probably where I am soap.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: But yeah, no, you know, cares a lot about her.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: That's a big thing now, people making their own soap.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. But she was like, we gotta
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: use you gotta use this in.
- 1:17:20Speaker 17: My stocking and Christmas I got star Wars soap. It's
- 1:17:23Speaker 17: a good stocking stuff. Was that a specific character? All
- 1:17:26Speaker 17: different characters? I have like three bars of soap. I
- 1:17:28Speaker 17: don't know what to do with that because if you
- 1:17:30Speaker 17: use it then you lose it. But I forget it.
- 1:17:35Speaker 17: You know, comes in a box. Yeah, yeah, is it?
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: You used it? Okay?
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: Kevin and Maine, that's It's like one time I had
- 1:17:49Speaker 8: to melt, you know, a wolverine with the cyclops.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: It was crazy. Kevin and Maine.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: I'm listening to the old guy talking about garbage that
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: was in the lead into the second half of the show,
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: and I have to say, as a garbage man, I
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: appreciate Fred's putting garbage out the night before because occasionally
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: we have a good day in our early so it's
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: good to know the stop is always going to be out.
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: I always do that. They pick up my garbage Wednesday morning.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: I have it out Tuesday night.
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: Okay, So I have a call that the raccoons. I
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: respect the fact that he's in the business. Why would
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: he care. So let's just say you do your route and.
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: They're they're ahead a schedule, and now they don't get
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: you put it out when they usually come and it's
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: not there yet they want to.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: So that's on you. Now you have to take your
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: garbage back in and put it out the following week.
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: You missed it. They came by, and that's on you.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: He's being considerate. No, but I'm saying, why would I
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: don't understand.
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: You know, what happens is that no people call the
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: garbage collector and they say they didn't pick me up today,
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: and he has to come back.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: And I would just look at the rest of the
- 1:18:58Speaker 6: street and see that everybody else is trash got taken
- 1:19:01Speaker 6: except for yours help and say, well, you didn't have
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: it out on time, that's your feet.
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: But he did. The point is, oh, the point is
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: he did have it out on time. They came early.
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: Oh no, but my see, there is no quote unquote
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: time obvious.
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: I'm going to be very defensive of the guy here
- 1:19:19Speaker 6: because I am a morning of person. I put my
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: trash out Monday morning and I've never missed the trash.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: Well, when does your trash usually come? It usually comes
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: around seven, but I have it out by six. I've
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: never missed it.
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: When I get up, it's usually the first thing I
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: do before I take a shower is I take everything out,
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: but I would, I would say, and I have spoken.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: To some of my.
- 1:19:44Speaker 6: Local guys before. My guys, nothing drives them more crazy
- 1:19:49Speaker 6: than inheriting a mess. It's not their job to clean
- 1:19:52Speaker 6: up your trash, and when you leave it out the
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: night before, it often gets disrupted by animals.
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: I don't know if you've know this, but this a
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: little bit of a rant of mine lately.
- 1:20:02Speaker 6: Suddenly we live in Chicago and it's ridiculously windy every
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: day here now, and it's all over the street.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Not my stuff because I don't put it out until
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: it gets picked up.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Nice.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: They don't want to pick up your your trash. They
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: just appreciate someone put the night before.
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:20:19Speaker 6: That's why I said, I'm going to be defensive of
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: this guy, because I know how hard that job is.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: And they are fantastic. Can I just tell you how
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: good they are in my city? Okavity. They take everything. Yeah,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: you leave it out, they take it like I put.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: I threw my pool cover away.
- 1:20:32Speaker 6: This week, the whole pool club, the whole the whole
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: job absolutely and gone. I had it all folded up,
- 1:20:39Speaker 6: but it's heavy.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you know. It was twenty by forty cover. I
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: don't have a twenty by forty pool, but you might ask.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: He said, Wow, I didn't realize your pull it. No,
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: it's not that grotto.
- 1:20:47Speaker 6: But you have a little little extra. You have a
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: little extra tuck underneath. Sure, but you know I've had
- 1:20:52Speaker 6: it for three years. You get a little warn you know, Freddy,
- 1:20:55Speaker 6: your pool I went to the spring cover. Well that's
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: because you have a different kind of pools, so you
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: have luxuries to do that I can't.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: It made my life.
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: But those guys took the pool cover no problem yesterday.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: You know they're they're fantastic for them.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I know everybody makes fun of me for, you know,
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: never doing anything around the house like mowing lawns. Taking
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: out the trash was a chore of mine growing up,
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: and it was night before always always.
- 1:21:22Speaker 6: So when I was growing up, it was night before
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: I always put it out. But that was because I
- 1:21:26Speaker 6: had I lived on the second floor, had to go
- 1:21:28Speaker 6: down the stairs all the way down the driveway to
- 1:21:30Speaker 6: the front, so it was kind of a pain. So
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: if you wait till the morning, then you could have
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: some of those We got to run to get it.
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: Plus that wasn't up as early then.
- 1:21:39Speaker 8: You never had the experience that were you're like walking
- 1:21:40Speaker 8: up the driveway and then you just see on the
- 1:21:43Speaker 8: truck goes.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: But I've had that happen once. I live on a
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: small little clamp, you know.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: I've had those times where I forgot to take it out,
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: and I'll wake up at five in the morning and
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: you hear it and I'm like, oh my god. My
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: wife would be like, what I forgot to take the garbage?
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you know, I thought something really was wrong.
- 1:22:00Speaker 8: You've all had those weeks, though, where the garbage is
- 1:22:02Speaker 8: completely full and you're like, we're screwed.
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: We got to make it another week with full garbage.
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: I don't have I don't have those concerns acause they're
- 1:22:09Speaker 6: they're tremendous. They'll take everything you're supposed to have, like
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: one bag. You know, you put everything out there.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Wait a minute, you don't have bins.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: No, that's why if you leave a bag out, the
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: animals are gonna get it.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Well that's how this whole thing started. Okay, but I
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: don't I have a bin. I can leave it, so
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: do they just pick it up? They don't even touch it.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: They have one of those they have.
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: Guy comes out and it's not the ones where it
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: reaches over and just he comes out and he wheels
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: it up and then.
- 1:22:39Speaker 6: It all okay, yeah, no, so we don't have that service.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: But it's supposed to be like one bag and then
- 1:22:46Speaker 6: they'll give you like a you know, like they're supposed
- 1:22:49Speaker 6: to be all kinds of regulations.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: Their didn't tell me that you're just putting bags out there.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: Of course you can't leave bags out there. Just just
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: for the record, this argument was with Eric, not me.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: But you could go back. He can play it back
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: for you. That was you were arguing one we just had.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: We didn't really have it.
- 1:23:09Speaker 6: Now, I just say I like to put it out
- 1:23:10Speaker 6: in the morning of so it stays night. No, but
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: he didn't argue in good faith. That was not a
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: good Don't you have recycling that you put out?
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: They told me I don't need to do it.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: Oh, they said that they do it once again.
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: That's that's facts. That's true.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: So so I have one bin. I tell you that's
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: not true, but that's what they tell you.
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: That's what which person told me that they can make
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: they do No, but they could they could go in
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: one place.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Well that I rent a second bin.
- 1:23:40Speaker 6: No, do you have two separate pickups, I guess is
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: my question. They have trash and do you have recycling
- 1:23:45Speaker 6: the different trucks different times. Yes, Okay, So if it's
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: windy in all seriousnestuff, because I have like a whole
- 1:23:52Speaker 6: bin of you know, I I have young boys in
- 1:23:55Speaker 6: the house and yeah, they tend to drink a lot
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: of so I have a lot of stuff all over
- 1:24:00Speaker 6: the place, gatorade bottles.
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: So the wind, we'll get it, you know. And if
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: you if you wait and put it out there, I mean,
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: if you put it out there night before, it's not
- 1:24:10Speaker 6: going to be well.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: If I've had just bags, I would definitely not put
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: on wind.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Take the barrels sometimes and the barrels would be like
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: down the street. I come home for school and I
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: had to go find the barrels, you know, hard.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: Knock life for you of them that this was. This
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: was one of the times.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Where I actually did one of these things.
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: That's why I'm bringing the lost recycling bins. Yeah, winds,
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: I come home and it's just not there and you
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: can't find it. Yeah.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: I did chores, all right, I did a chool once
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: mom Garri's bag is gone. My sister never had to
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: do a chore in her life.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: It was you know, the princess.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: Right, yeah, okay, let's see Trent right, so double down.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: You said you all agreed last show you would take
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: a fifty three year old Bledsoe over a twenty three
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: year old Drake May.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: No, we didn't know you're talking about Drew in his prime?
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, my worry meter has officially jumped to max.
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: And words of Chief Brody, We're going to need a
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: bigger meter. He's worried about Drake May.
- 1:25:12Speaker 6: I don't know, like you misunderstood, we were talking about
- 1:25:15Speaker 6: would you rather have Drew Bledsoe in his prime or May?
- 1:25:19Speaker 9: Right?
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Now? Right, that was the question someone posted, right, and
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: I think we all said Drew because he had the experiment.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: If I answered it yet, well.
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: I'm not surprised there's no longer on.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: The He also says why don't the Celtics and Bruins
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: move to Foxboro? The three franchises could create a mecca
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: for sports, could run the Patriot train more often. I
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: think it's a cool opportunity. There's no way, right, ps,
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: My buddy and I played a drinking game. Every take
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: a shot every time Evan says it's a moment he
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: died of alcohol poison, A moment you say it's a
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: moment a lot.
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: Who are these people going on? Everything? Ego a different
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: I don't know to.
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: Be right, but I just I'm like, I don't think
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: that's not People are getting ready to make fun of Evan,
- 1:26:05Speaker 6: and I'm like, on the edge of my seat. I'm like,
- 1:26:06Speaker 6: I'm here for it. And then I mean, I got
- 1:26:08Speaker 6: to defend him. I've never heard him say that once.
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: I will admit to me like, I've, you know, been
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: around Kendrick Bourne for a couple of years.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: I like the guy. I do, so maybe that maybe
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: I like him.
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: Maybe maybe Christian is right about that, that I have
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: a saucepot for him just because we have good conversations
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: and he actually answers my questions. But I yeah, I've
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: never said that in my life. I can tell you that, right.
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: That's funny, Kyle and Pembroke. Evan isn't a perfect person.
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: That example, he doesn't mo but it's someone who listens
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: to every pu In Cast twenty two, Evan never never,
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: he says in capital letters, call Born a number one receiver.
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: Evan may have been fooled by Taekwon every summer, but
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: with Born, sure he has been objective. Born when healthy
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: is a solid wide receiver two or three. So back
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: off of Evan about Born, because there are plenty of
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: things that are true.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: To go at him for that all with love, appreciate
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: all things you do.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: Good email, very true.
- 1:27:02Speaker 8: I like when the last Army comes out, I would
- 1:27:04Speaker 8: I would say, Jerry at best by the way, but
- 1:27:08Speaker 8: good email.
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but pull Sean in Vancouver for about another at
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: We'll go to.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: The eighty five five pasts five hundred hotline. Sean is
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: in Vancouver and he's on the hotline. What's up, Sean.
- 1:27:20Speaker 18: I mean a lot of people are coming at you
- 1:27:22Speaker 18: with false stuff. I have a legitimate argument that's not
- 1:27:27Speaker 18: that report.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: But I might have time to get excited again.
- 1:27:30Speaker 9: Okay, that's good.
- 1:27:32Speaker 18: It's a Rocky versus the Terminator. It's not yeah here
- 1:27:36Speaker 18: here it is. When I saw Rocky was in the theater,
- 1:27:39Speaker 18: I was nine years old. I thought it was boring.
- 1:27:42Speaker 18: You know, there's other best picture movies that around that
- 1:27:46Speaker 18: time that I thought we're boring. Out of a Gandhi
- 1:27:48Speaker 18: Churt's the Fire. I just some of those movies are
- 1:27:50Speaker 18: just to me, they're boring. Now, I was seventeen when
- 1:27:53Speaker 18: I saw The Terminator, and to me, that was amazing.
- 1:27:56Speaker 18: You know, I'm not a big Spotzenegger or us as
- 1:28:00Speaker 18: a long guy, but I thought like The Terminator was
- 1:28:03Speaker 18: a perfect movie. And if you look at the Rotten
- 1:28:05Speaker 18: Tomato rating, it actually gets one hundred from the critics.
- 1:28:08Speaker 18: So it was a great movie, even though it's not
- 1:28:11Speaker 18: a type of movie that's going to win Best Picture.
- 1:28:13Speaker 18: And I think that in my opinion, the Terminator is
- 1:28:17Speaker 18: is better than Rocky.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: But well you're wrong.
- 1:28:19Speaker 8: Well but Sean, will you will you say though that
- 1:28:23Speaker 8: a Terminator is a little bit more geared toward a
- 1:28:25Speaker 8: seventeen year old dude than Rocky is.
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: Geared to a nine year old Absolutely, you know, I
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: mean I get what you're saying.
- 1:28:32Speaker 18: It based on your audience. It's an objective thing. And
- 1:28:35Speaker 18: when I seventeen year old kid came perfects working in
- 1:28:39Speaker 18: in the eighties, like, yeah, that's the movie you want
- 1:28:40Speaker 18: to see. You want to see Rocky when you're you're
- 1:28:42Speaker 18: a seventeen year old male, It's it's just you want
- 1:28:45Speaker 18: to see something action packed. Where Cameron was smart enough
- 1:28:49Speaker 18: to limit the dialogue. You know, it's like, you're not
- 1:28:52Speaker 18: you make this guy robot so he doesn't have to
- 1:28:53Speaker 18: actually act. So it was, it was It's a good
- 1:28:58Speaker 18: entertaining movie where I didn't yawn.
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: All yeah, I got But I think, Sean, you bring
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: up to me even a more interesting point is the
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: context in which you see movies affects how you remember them.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: And I and when you said that, the thing that
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: really came back to me when I saw The Deer Hunter.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: I was probably in eighth or ninth grade, and we
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: went with my friend's dad who served in Vietnam.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: And his friend who served.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: And the whole time I'm watching this movie, I'm thinking
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: about them. I'm thinking about them sitting next to me
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: and what they're thinking about the movie, And I like,
- 1:29:38Speaker 4: did they sit through it?
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no, no no, it was very quiet in
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: the car going back home, I can tell you. And
- 1:29:45Speaker 4: so that like, that movie to me, like was one
- 1:29:47Speaker 4: of the you know, most you know, heavy movies I've
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: ever seen.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Sean, Can I ask you just one question though?
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: Did you did you see Rocky four? And what was
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: your reaction to that?
- 1:29:57Speaker 9: One?
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: Fantastic could Rocky four, and I thought it was kind
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: of billy.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: You're right about that. It's still good, just.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Silly.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: Rocky one was not silly Rocky, but Rocky, like Rocky
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: is A, it's a it's all of them collectively though,
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: because like Rocky one is setting up the story, like
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: you got to establish the characters in achise, right, Like,
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: so you know Rocky one, I understand that the like
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: the first half of Rocky one is an exactly action
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: packed like it's yeah right, bum yeah, cuff and link
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: and buckus and yeah, like it's not exciting, but that's
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: Rocky two to me. But you're setting up here.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: The whole setting is boring until the fight setting it up.
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: Take us, thanks, Sean.
- 1:30:43Speaker 6: So I will interrupt this just real quick. I have
- 1:30:46Speaker 6: some quasi breaking news. Adam Schefter, oh blue check mark.
- 1:30:51Speaker 6: Patriots linebacker Jolani Tavai, who led the team in tackles
- 1:30:54Speaker 6: last season with one hundred and nine, suffered a calf
- 1:30:56Speaker 6: injury during ot AS on Monday that is now expected
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: to sideline him until raining camp. Per sources. The news
- 1:31:03Speaker 6: is fortunate in that to I could hardly put any
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: pressure on his leg, as he was helped off the
- 1:31:06Speaker 6: practice field by Jabrill Peppers. So sounds like significant injury,
- 1:31:12Speaker 6: but not something that's gonna keep on Achilles long term.
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: Yes, sounds like it. Maybe the team was afraid of
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: Achilles and it's gonna be half.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: You get those cash streads, you really can't walk.
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: It's it's hard.
- 1:31:25Speaker 8: Yeah, be careful with it because that can become then,
- 1:31:27Speaker 8: and they had a lot of that with guys injuring
- 1:31:29Speaker 8: their calf.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: And so that's I would say, that's that's good news
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: like that. I thought it could have been way worse
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: than that.
- 1:31:35Speaker 8: It's gonna be an interesting year for John Tobai. Nobody
- 1:31:38Speaker 8: said last year and how the fans reacted to that.
- 1:31:41Speaker 8: But I still think he's a good player with something
- 1:31:43Speaker 8: to offer to this team. So it seems like he's
- 1:31:46Speaker 8: in the mix with those guys and he has size
- 1:31:48Speaker 8: that and the ability to play inside. I didn't think
- 1:31:51Speaker 8: he was great there last year. He had to play
- 1:31:52Speaker 8: kind of that Juwan Bentley role where That'splaine. Now, Splaine's
- 1:31:56Speaker 8: gonna go be the tackle guy. I wonder if maybe
- 1:31:59Speaker 8: he can have a litle bit of resurgence this year
- 1:32:01Speaker 8: in this in this defense, we'll see I'd also just
- 1:32:03Speaker 8: say in Detroit he didn't really have his spot, And
- 1:32:05Speaker 8: I wonder if this you know, how these defenses relate,
- 1:32:09Speaker 8: if his success over the last couple of years was
- 1:32:11Speaker 8: more specific to the Belichick scheme.
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: Is he suited to this one? But really interesting player
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: to me this year?
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Eim and Jennings are fascinating to me because I
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: think both those guys are not exactly a scheme fit
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: for what they're trying to do now. But do you
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: know that they've played good football in their past and
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: they're not bad players per se. But it's one of
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: the few guys that have stuck around that feel like
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: they're not really a fit like everybody else that was
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: kind of like that the Bentley is there, they're all gone.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: They kept those two guys.
- 1:32:37Speaker 6: And I would say we've seen a lot of Tavai
- 1:32:40Speaker 6: and not much of Jens much agree with you.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: There, and he wasn't out there at all.
- 1:32:45Speaker 8: Yeah, stand up, run stopping edge and I just I
- 1:32:48Speaker 8: don't know if that position exists, but he's really good
- 1:32:50Speaker 8: at it, which maybe gives you some pause that he
- 1:32:53Speaker 8: has a tool in the toolbox that could be useful.
- 1:32:56Speaker 8: But I wonder if these teams, they look at it,
- 1:32:59Speaker 8: and they look at a play like that and they
- 1:33:00Speaker 8: just say, our scheme is not going to fit him.
- 1:33:03Speaker 2: And as good as he is at that, there's never
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: going to be a situation where we're going to need
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: to put him on the field for it. It's interesting
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: guy though.
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: Yeah, John and Upstate New York says, I love Fortune Foxborough.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:33:15Speaker 4: He got me thinking about how draft day trades are done.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: Do both teams need to submit their trade proposal to
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: the lead to make sure their understanding is consistent? Is
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: it done verbally? Does the NFL have rules that they
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: apply to Draft day trades? I was surprised to see
- 1:33:29Speaker 4: how all this is done in such a short time period,
- 1:33:31Speaker 4: often just minutes.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, there's a pickline. So there's a line. I
- 1:33:36Speaker 3: think it's still done by phone pickline that the league
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: runs that they say, okay, you know, New England's on
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: the clock, and then you submit the picks through a
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: system on the computer. You submit the framework of the
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: trade and then it goes through the pickline and blasted
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: out to all thirty two teams. Okay, New England traded.
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: You know so and so is on the clock now, Yeah,
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: it's kind of like a like almost like a serie
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: type voice most of the time, someone that has just
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: like kind of a monotone, robotic voice. It's kind of
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: kind of funny.
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: Jake wants to he's from Melbourne, Australia, and he wants
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: to weigh in on the trash bin situation Australia.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: In Australia, he says the opposite way. Yeah, they put
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: it upside down right.
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: No, but he has four bins four one for general waste,
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: one for recycling, one for glass, and one for food
- 1:34:30Speaker 4: scraps and grass clippings. None of these get collected weekly,
- 1:34:33Speaker 4: and I have been moved to be collected and have
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: been moved to be collected on alternate fortnightly basis. I
- 1:34:41Speaker 4: can only imagine the rant Fred would have about this.
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: This was the situation he had to.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: Put up with.
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: We would you'd whine about that, Well, it would be
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: not as much as Eric would. We had grass bins
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: in LA, we had recycling, grass bins and bases.
- 1:34:55Speaker 17: So we have.
- 1:34:57Speaker 6: Yard waste in general, whether it's like weeding or grass
- 1:35:00Speaker 6: clippings or whatever, and they do it like once a month.
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: No idea what you're talking about because it's amazing.
- 1:35:08Speaker 6: So they do it like once a month, but they
- 1:35:10Speaker 6: they'll call and they'll let it. It's like a robo call,
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: and they let you know they'll be picking up on
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: this such and such a date.
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: And you put it out there.
- 1:35:16Speaker 6: And you know those those you know those paper bags,
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: like the lawn bags that you get, you're supposed to
- 1:35:21Speaker 6: use those.
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: Some of us just do our weeding and put them
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: in a regular trash bag and put it on the trash.
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: That's me.
- 1:35:28Speaker 8: I have a hard time with like electronics, like throwing
- 1:35:31Speaker 8: out electronics, like knowing what to do with an.
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: I have an old computer, an old hard drive, and
- 1:35:37Speaker 6: I have a TV that have just been sitting in
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: my garage for a while.
- 1:35:39Speaker 3: And take them to Best buy Best take them.
- 1:35:42Speaker 8: Sometimes they have like recycling electronics. Recycling, they do have
- 1:35:45Speaker 8: to pay them.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: They have a du Yeah, you can pay to go
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: to the dump, which I don't do. I don't go
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: to the dumb friend. Well, I like that's the same
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: thing in my town.
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: You have the transfer sticker that you can buy and
- 1:35:56Speaker 4: you go to the dump and you throw your your
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: trash away and it is a lot cheaper than what
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: I have to pay to have somebody pick it up.
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: But I'm not going to like put all that smelly
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: trash in my car.
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: Like if I had a pickup truck, it might be different,
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: but you're putting it in the back of your car
- 1:36:11Speaker 4: and it stinks. And I see people sitting on line
- 1:36:15Speaker 4: at the transfer station.
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: It's like, I don't want to do that.
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: They do have electronic days periodically where it's like one
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: of those big it's like a big church parking lot
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: right around the corner from my house that does it
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: once in a while. I haven't seen it because I've
- 1:36:27Speaker 6: had these I'm waiting for that. You can just go
- 1:36:30Speaker 6: you give them like twenty bucks and you can put
- 1:36:31Speaker 6: anything you want it. What about paint paint that's a
- 1:36:34Speaker 6: painty paints? Another one that Paul's just thrown away in trash?
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I have to I might have done that.
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: Yes again, I said this for like, just I wonder mine,
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: where does it all go? Where does all the trash go?
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: I don't, I just I can't grasp it well.
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: But it is an issue though, I like, we got
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: a lot of trash, sure, like we have you know,
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: a finite space and.
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: It's just every week we're loading up the and it's
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: going somewhere.
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: Can we just like put it in rocket station the
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: sun let them go.
- 1:37:06Speaker 6: So do you have the ability to get one of
- 1:37:08Speaker 6: those stickers, Like let's say you want to bought a
- 1:37:11Speaker 6: new refrigerator, you're throwing away you're old fridge. You have
- 1:37:13Speaker 6: ability to just put that on the sidewalk and get
- 1:37:15Speaker 6: one of those stickers and they'll come and get.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, you have to take stickers you
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: put in your car and you have to take it.
- 1:37:20Speaker 6: Oh, so we have the Again, I think I'm just
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: very fortunate. We you know, we can take a major
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: appliance something like that you go to get you know,
- 1:37:29Speaker 6: you go to the office and you get a sticker.
- 1:37:30Speaker 6: I think it costs like twenty five bucks.
- 1:37:32Speaker 9: Yep.
- 1:37:32Speaker 6: You put it on the side of your refrigerator and
- 1:37:34Speaker 6: then you're on the list and they're coming. So as
- 1:37:36Speaker 6: long as it has the sticker on it, you'll take it.
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: So I have a private service. So if I had
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: something big like that, I could call them and say, hey,
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: I need to get rid of I have a private sir.
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: You know it's not the town so no, it's.
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: Great curse disposal on contracts.
- 1:37:52Speaker 4: Yeah, so I but I'd have to call them and say, hey,
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: I got a fridge, and they would charge it.
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: I would get extra on my bill picking up that,
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: I know, not disposal garbage. Talk good spots.
- 1:38:05Speaker 4: Mason writes, in might be an unreasonable question at this juncture,
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: since we haven't seen a ton from this offense, but
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: how many targets would you like to see each of
- 1:38:14Speaker 4: the receivers get this year? I personally would love to
- 1:38:16Speaker 4: see Diggs get one hundred and ten plus, so it
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: wouldn't we all, but I'm not sure if that's realistic.
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: In Josh McDaniel's system, It's been a long time since
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: we've had a guy that we can trust to go
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: out and consistently win their ones, and I'd really like
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: to see them explore that.
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: I'd say, provided that he's healthy, he's going to get
- 1:38:34Speaker 6: over two hundred targets. He's going to catch a hundred passes.
- 1:38:37Speaker 2: Yeah right, yeah, I mean he's healthy, he's going to
- 1:38:42Speaker 2: catch a hundred.
- 1:38:42Speaker 6: Right, he's on track for it last year, that's right, Yeah,
- 1:38:46Speaker 6: the injury, but all right, and then everybody falls in
- 1:38:50Speaker 6: line after that, right, we'll see, we'll see after that.
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Kyle Williams would be fun to watch though he
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: just he moves well. He had some good catches. Kyle Williams.
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: Yeah, at least to make some big plays. Like I
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: don't know if he'll be consistent, Like Diggs is going
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: to be consistent. He's going to be one hundred catches
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: thousand yards if he's healthy. Kyle Williams, it might be
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: more big plays here intermittently, but those big plays are
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: going to be flashes that will get you excited.
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: That's what's interesting to see how it comes together.
- 1:39:18Speaker 8: Which guys are the guys that keep them on time,
- 1:39:20Speaker 8: Which are the guys that provide an element of explosiveness?
- 1:39:24Speaker 8: What guys or gotta have at moments? Who does Drake
- 1:39:27Speaker 8: developed that rapport with does it remain Hunter Henry? Does
- 1:39:31Speaker 8: he continue that connection he has with Booty as well?
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: A lot.
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: I know that people are hopeful that that Diggs is
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: going to be explosive, But what he was towards the
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: end in Buffalo and what he was last year for
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: Houston before he got hurt was much more chain mover
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: than big play receiver. Last year in Houston, he was
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: pretty much exclusively third and six. He's going to pick
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: up the first down type of guy. Now, they had
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: Nico Collins and they had other people, but you know,
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: you say the consistent guys of the chance, like that's
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: going to be him and Henry. I would think they're
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: looking for the guy. That's why they drafted Kyle Williams,
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: because you're looking for the guy that can make the
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: the big plays.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: Voodoo rights in He says, the year is twenty thirty
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: five years from now. Who are the top five quarterbacks?
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:40:22Speaker 19: Boy, which Daniels twenty five years from now? Ning Drake
- 1:40:27Speaker 19: maybe better be one of them? Yeah, right, he better
- 1:40:31Speaker 19: be Jayden Daniels and James Daniels. And is Caleb Williams
- 1:40:35Speaker 19: your guy, Paul, you've come off of him? Huh, you
- 1:40:41Speaker 19: were a big Caleb Williams.
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to like, is Joe Burrow one of them?
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: Like I'm trying to figure out how many guys will
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: be hard to be?
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: He'll be gone by then, Like I'm gonna put him
- 1:40:50Speaker 6: out of the if I'm putting like Mahomes Jackson Allen,
- 1:40:54Speaker 6: you know how many of these guys are not going
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: to be in the top five in five years?
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how them probably will be to me, it's.
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: Less about what I think of the young guys and
- 1:41:01Speaker 6: more about the longevity of the guys that are already established.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: Right, I like thinking about Josh Allen and Mahomes being
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: out of the way.
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: And Mahomes might be Yeah, I mean, I don't know
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: about out of the way, but like we might be
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: in a different chapter. I mean, we're kind of already
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: in a different chapter with Mahomes now, Like Mahomes's numbers
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: are not what they were at the beginning of his career.
- 1:41:20Speaker 3: At this point, he's I'm just going to hang in
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: games and win them late because I'm just better than you.
- 1:41:24Speaker 6: Like that's but don't you think at some point they're
- 1:41:26Speaker 6: going to say what you're what you were saying, Mahomes
- 1:41:30Speaker 6: isn't the same guy anymore.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: We need we need to get him some help so
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: he doesn't have to do.
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: It all right, I Mean, that's the number one question
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: is if he's if he had to help again, would
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: it come back?
- 1:41:39Speaker 6: But sort of like Brady's ascension from leaving here when
- 1:41:42Speaker 6: he first got to Tampa and all of a sudden
- 1:41:44Speaker 6: he's throwing Evans.
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: And Godwin, when did that happened? I forgot about its
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: rooted for it. Well, he was happy. He was excited
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: to see what would happen. I couldn't watch it.
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: I'm never going to stop making fun of him for
- 1:41:56Speaker 6: that line. I'm excited to see what happens.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: Year one. Let's go back to the phones. Tim's in
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: Kansas City. Hey, Tim to me, Well, Fred, how you doing.
- 1:42:08Speaker 20: I just want to let you know I was watching
- 1:42:10Speaker 20: Forrest and Boxbow in closet on the pitcher bill that
- 1:42:14Speaker 20: showed you.
- 1:42:15Speaker 18: And Paul, and I was telling my sons.
- 1:42:18Speaker 20: I said, guys, I've listened to these guys since two
- 1:42:20Speaker 20: thousand and two, and it's interesting the relationship that you
- 1:42:26Speaker 20: guys probably maybe know or maybe don't know, that you
- 1:42:28Speaker 20: have with your listeners. Because the value of that relationship.
- 1:42:31Speaker 20: You guys have been with me with the birth of
- 1:42:33Speaker 20: my kids. You've been with me on countless trips, many
- 1:42:36Speaker 20: times in the gym if I almost dropped weights from
- 1:42:38Speaker 20: laughing at what you guys were saying. I've got my
- 1:42:41Speaker 20: first several iPods because of the show. I bought into
- 1:42:45Speaker 20: our Lands because of the show. I didn't buy Speed
- 1:42:47Speaker 20: Queen because.
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: I'm America's salesperson.
- 1:42:53Speaker 20: Uh, you know, you spend you spend time listening to
- 1:42:55Speaker 20: people like I wonder whatever happened to Tips and was counting?
- 1:42:58Speaker 20: Didter Stun ever played college for Fall? You know why doesn't? James,
- 1:43:01Speaker 20: the most interesting fan called back in.
- 1:43:03Speaker 9: How's Chester doing? Guys like that?
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:43:05Speaker 20: Yeah, but over the years, this relationship that develops. I
- 1:43:12Speaker 20: thought I'd call in for a couple of things. One,
- 1:43:15Speaker 20: I have a solution to the question on the on
- 1:43:17Speaker 20: the music that I think is obvious after years of
- 1:43:21Speaker 20: listening to the show, there's one song that I think
- 1:43:24Speaker 20: has has bonded the Patriots fans together. We've had people
- 1:43:29Speaker 20: call in or write in and say they dance to it.
- 1:43:32Speaker 10: It's Mike's song.
- 1:43:33Speaker 20: It's song of the third at the third quarter, you
- 1:43:37Speaker 20: play Mike's song. Look who's back from the locker room?
- 1:43:41Speaker 20: What was the mood where the player spindly? You don't
- 1:43:44Speaker 20: even look like Garrick Henry? Hey Mike, what's the like
- 1:43:46Speaker 20: in locker room? You could it could be from Mike Rabel,
- 1:43:49Speaker 20: But it's the perfect song. It's got good, good highs
- 1:43:53Speaker 20: to it. People would dance to it to bring.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: The locker room.
- 1:43:56Speaker 21: What was the mood where the players friendly to the
- 1:43:59Speaker 21: love like tamn Henry, Hey, Mike, what was it like?
- 1:44:07Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:44:07Speaker 4: What was it like?
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: I think that would get people grooving? That about pumped
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: up Grammy.
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: It's a Grammy right there?
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, boy, you give.
- 1:44:21Speaker 20: Us a thumbs up where thumbs down? Like perfect?
- 1:44:24Speaker 6: Yeah, that's it's so like so impressive. He actually has
- 1:44:28Speaker 6: another song that's not quite as good as this one.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: But okay, here, here we go one time.
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: That's a good one.
- 1:44:37Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: I don't know, no, no, he couldn't wait to get
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: rid of that.
- 1:44:44Speaker 22: They're playing my whole catalog the Okay here, okay, this
- 1:44:49Speaker 22: one somewhere, Yeah, this.
- 1:44:56Speaker 23: One's for Mike to So.
- 1:45:01Speaker 5: This one's from he made his name in blogging.
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: He's a youth.
- 1:45:06Speaker 23: Hockey with me, don't you again those twenty eight to
- 1:45:11Speaker 23: three t he's less in the picts an, he's steaky negative,
- 1:45:17Speaker 23: but he knows as food as and he knows them.
- 1:45:19Speaker 21: But did you know that he used to live in Hollywood? Okay,
- 1:45:25Speaker 21: this one's from Mike to So, this one's from.
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: That's gonna it's going to bring the house down to
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: my funeral, you know, that's what we're going to go out.
- 1:45:37Speaker 20: On that way yelling that stuff out.
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: That is great.
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:45:45Speaker 20: To answer the chicken question that Evan's brought up before,
- 1:45:48Speaker 20: or chicken tenders.
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: Go or the bonus lady, there's the right answer to this.
- 1:45:52Speaker 20: That's actually what I do for work. I worked in
- 1:45:55Speaker 20: meat preparation, and oddly enough, I can think literally the
- 1:46:01Speaker 20: a boneous chicken wing is from breast meat. So it's
- 1:46:05Speaker 20: actually a higher quality meat than wing itself.
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: Okay, but it's not.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: Him just provided but no. But the point is that
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: it's not a boneless wing.
- 1:46:17Speaker 2: Is a toss in the sauce? Is a boneless wing
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: tender right? Breast right? That's why it's not as good.
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: That was a great call, the best caller we've had
- 1:46:31Speaker 2: in along, Thank you very much.
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: Speaking of James Pettigrew, the most interesting Patriots fan of the.
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: World and writes in Times about trash people love, he.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: Says, we have one been here in Belize where he's
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: living right now.
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: Excuse us, but the strange thing here is all the
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: food waste just goes to the overgrown plot next door.
- 1:46:51Speaker 4: I was unsure at first, but my landlord assured me
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: that the local wildlife will take care of it.
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: I've been here for months now and.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: It works good. It's easy. Yeah. Probably got a lot
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: of rats next door, though, but that's all right.
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: Yeah that's true. But at least they stay. I guess
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: if you put food there, that's where they'll stay.
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: It's not like nice puppies are coming to eat all
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: this food scraps next door rat. By the way, I
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: have a bat's nest under the eaves in my house. Batman, Yeah,
- 1:47:18Speaker 2: so we got to get rid of that. I like bats, though,
- 1:47:21Speaker 2: they eat bugs.
- 1:47:22Speaker 3: A cave a cave to.
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: I have a cave cave.
- 1:47:26Speaker 2: Yeah, black, I can talk about like Noah's Ark and
- 1:47:29Speaker 2: just the arc of the question. Put some pebbles and
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: sock and swing it around and crazy I grew up with.
- 1:47:35Speaker 2: That's all around.
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: Put pebbles in a sock and swing it around because
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: of the noise, because they have the echo that's sonar.
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: You guys want to screw with some bats tonight we'll
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: go to Rhode Island.
- 1:47:52Speaker 3: Bats. We all had a very different teenage years.
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: And everybody just you.
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: I got the you bring a sock. Yeah, we're good.
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: Let's row. You got the saw, stupid bats. You got
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: the sock, bro I got my brother's socks really long,
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: extra pebbles in it.
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: I'm not yeah, I don't want to necessarily drive them crazy.
- 1:48:15Speaker 4: I just want to get them somewhere else.
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: Oh man, you stand up in it and they're all
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: buzzing around you and like, I'm that man. Now we're back.
- 1:48:26Speaker 2: All right, there we go.
- 1:48:27Speaker 4: It makes sense now, Audrey says, I live in the country,
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: so we pay for trash pickup. I take our recycling
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: to the transfer station about once a month. But the
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: best system I remember was when we lived in Dover,
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: New Hampshire.
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: I was there this weekend.
- 1:48:39Speaker 4: All recycling was free pickup, but you had to pay
- 1:48:41Speaker 4: one dollar per bag for special trash bags. You could
- 1:48:45Speaker 4: buy a pack at all the grocery stores. This encourages
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: everyone to recycle and save money. We had that when
- 1:48:50Speaker 4: I lived in rent them. They instituted you had to
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: buy these bags, but they were ten bucks a bag.
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: Oh jeez, I'm sorry.
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: They were ten bucks a roll, so you got five bags,
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: so they were two bucks a bag. And my friend
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: who was a selectman, instituted that, and the night that
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: the bill passed, people went to his lawn and threw
- 1:49:10Speaker 4: all their trash bags.
- 1:49:11Speaker 2: On his lawn.
- 1:49:12Speaker 4: So they didn't want to space so like coach Nickerson, Yeah,
- 1:49:14Speaker 4: they didn't want to spend ten dollars for a roll
- 1:49:16Speaker 4: of trash bag.
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: Good for them? Did you not see All the right movie?
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: Good for them? He didn't not quotable. I've seen it.
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: But you know, I don't know if I've ever made
- 1:49:26Speaker 6: an eighties movie reference that you did not get immediately.
- 1:49:28Speaker 2: I mean, you've made a lot to me that. I Yeah, well,
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: better Off Dead is not that's one. It's not in
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: my catalog. I mean, I've definitely seen it. Tom Cruise
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: all the right moves, all the right moves. Yeah, I
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: figured you'd not six two stacked monster breaking it down.
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: I did what you're talking about.
- 1:49:46Speaker 2: Jerry maguire, that's awesome. This is probably about ten years
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: before Jerry McGwire, maybe more.
- 1:49:50Speaker 8: I just remember in the video store the you know,
- 1:49:53Speaker 8: it was like Tom Cruise with like the football and
- 1:49:54Speaker 8: the letterman letterman jacket.
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: Lea Thompson, a beautiful young Lea Thompson in that movie Wonderful.
- 1:50:01Speaker 4: Chris says, you can't use the argument that boneless wings
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: aren't wings because they don't come from the wing, because
- 1:50:08Speaker 4: drums aren't from the wings either.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: But the reason you call because like you know, there's shape.
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: Right, good rebuttal right, But you call it a wingsh
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: You call it a wing only when it's a part
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: of the drummer.
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: You call a wing, right, it's part of the wing. Yeah.
- 1:50:26Speaker 6: No, he's saying, it's not only the flat wings, right,
- 1:50:29Speaker 6: that's I mean, if I'm reading the email correctly, you're
- 1:50:32Speaker 6: saying you call the drums.
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: Okay, I think they I thought they were attached and
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: then they separate them.
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: No, well, we just had a separator.
- 1:50:40Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: Where it comes from the bird.
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: That's not my argument.
- 1:50:46Speaker 4: He's right if if the drumstick is from like the leg,
- 1:50:49Speaker 4: I think he's right, then he's right.
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: And then he's thank you.
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: It's just the flats.
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: The flats are the ulster for future.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: Arguments against Paul. Well, you first one.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: No, my sauce argument is still valid.
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: But it's still got a bone sauce.
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: Is it tossed in the sauce? Is it covered in sauce?
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: Or are you dipping and dipping it.
- 1:51:12Speaker 2: It's got to be tossed in the boneless wings.
- 1:51:16Speaker 6: It's got to be tossed the wings wings are tossed
- 1:51:18Speaker 6: in sauce before that before they cooked.
- 1:51:21Speaker 2: I don't like chicken tenders, tenders that you're dipping.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: I love the tenders.
- 1:51:25Speaker 8: Well, I went out with my boys this weekend with
- 1:51:27Speaker 8: a big boys weekend. We got a big plate table
- 1:51:29Speaker 8: full of wings and tenders both.
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: I like the tenders.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: I like the tenders too.
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: Listen, if you like tenders better than wings, that's fine.
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: Who's here to tell you what you should like? That's
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: that's That's not what Fred and I are doing. Baby,
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: that's not what we were.
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: Making us feel bad for liking the boneless No, child.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: It's not a boneless wings.
- 1:51:52Speaker 2: It's a chicken tender. But I like tenders. I like
- 1:51:55Speaker 2: wings better.
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: But if I'm with a bunch of guys and I
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: don't necessarily we want to make a mess of myself.
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: I'm going to do the tenders. They're they're needer. Uh.
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: Steve wants to know, have you guys seen the new
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: Rivalry uniforms or do you know how they're being designed?
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: I know they said they're based on the community, but
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: I'm curious if they'll take community feedback or slash desire
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: into the design.
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: They've already been designed.
- 1:52:21Speaker 2: Have you guys really seen them?
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I might have. I might have.
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: I didn't know. I actually i'll see them when we
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: get the them.
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: You'll see them when they run out in them and
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: right can.
- 1:52:33Speaker 2: Make Oh these are new having kids me.
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: Thanks, I'm very excited about this release. Me too, Yeah,
- 1:52:41Speaker 4: me too, I'm very excited. Matt says, thank you guys
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: for talking about the UFL. I'm a huge UFL supporter,
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: so you're the one show I.
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: Don't remember Birmingham Stallions.
- 1:52:53Speaker 9: Baby.
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: Uh. Anyway to my question, did anyone else cry at
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: David Andrews retirement speech?
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: That was one of the most difficult retirement speeches I've
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: ever been through.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: It was I did not. I mean he and I
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: love me some David Andrews, but it was his emotional moment,
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: not mine.
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: No, but you feel it for him, I.
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: Did, you know?
- 1:53:12Speaker 8: Yeah, Yeah, it's hard. Guys love this game. I mean
- 1:53:15Speaker 8: it's all they know growing up and it took them
- 1:53:17Speaker 8: all the way to the heights.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: He said, twenty six years playing football.
- 1:53:20Speaker 3: I think that that's like something that doesn't always get recognized,
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: as you know, the guys like David Andrews been playing
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: football since he was like six, you know, like it's
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: not just the NFL career, it's also everything leading up
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: to you know, Pop Warner, It's huge.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: School.
- 1:53:36Speaker 6: I've joked around about it, right, So, my my youngest
- 1:53:39Speaker 6: son just graduated high school. So this is gonna be
- 1:53:42Speaker 6: next year when we roll around a football season in September,
- 1:53:45Speaker 6: will be the first time since my oldest son was
- 1:53:50Speaker 6: five that I will not have a season to like
- 1:53:54Speaker 6: get ready to be a fan. And it's kind of
- 1:53:58Speaker 6: been on my mind. Can you imagine how much more
- 1:54:01Speaker 6: impactful that is for someone who's actually playing and had
- 1:54:04Speaker 6: a career for twenty six years right of playing football
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: and always having So this is the time of year
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: that I trained, This is the time of the year
- 1:54:11Speaker 6: that my body recovers, This is the time of year
- 1:54:13Speaker 6: I have to get ready for training camp and right
- 1:54:16Speaker 6: on down the line, game planning, everything else that goes
- 1:54:18Speaker 6: into it. And for the first time, he will not
- 1:54:20Speaker 6: be doing it that stuff.
- 1:54:22Speaker 9: Now.
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: People on Effort are still talking about his retirement speech. High.
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: Yeah don't go.
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: The other day because they had a community event at
- 1:54:32Speaker 3: everet High. Sand was still in sand were still unlikely
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: were there? They were Yeah, a couple of they had.
- 1:54:38Speaker 6: They did a clinic at the stadium like two weeks ago.
- 1:54:41Speaker 6: It was it was really well well received, which I
- 1:54:44Speaker 6: think is great that they do.
- 1:54:46Speaker 24: That they brought back not then no no left handed
- 1:54:49Speaker 24: quarterbacks from the eighties. Should they have, but have actual
- 1:54:52Speaker 24: NFL players to bring. Yeah, but like somebody to throw
- 1:54:56Speaker 24: Isaiah likely the football.
- 1:54:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't me.
- 1:55:00Speaker 8: I think a little bit of like two First, you know,
- 1:55:03Speaker 8: people go to college, like you kind of have that
- 1:55:04Speaker 8: rhythm of school through college, and then you get out
- 1:55:07Speaker 8: of college and all of a sudden, there's no more,
- 1:55:09Speaker 8: like you said, like summer and that feel of like
- 1:55:11Speaker 8: oh it's time to go back to school, and you
- 1:55:14Speaker 8: have to adjust to that. And I feel like in
- 1:55:16Speaker 8: some ways football players don't have to as much because
- 1:55:19Speaker 8: it's still the same kind of schedule of training camp
- 1:55:22Speaker 8: in August and you know, they kind of keep that going.
- 1:55:24Speaker 8: And then for someone like David Andrews, all of a sudden,
- 1:55:26Speaker 8: you're in your mid thirties and now it's like all right,
- 1:55:28Speaker 8: that whole cycle is completely different.
- 1:55:30Speaker 6: That first Friday in September, I don't know what I'm
- 1:55:32Speaker 6: going to do with myself. I don't go to a game,
- 1:55:36Speaker 6: come to sharing, Come to share, Come to Sharon.
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: I watch football.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: Be that guy that goes to the games when your
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: kids not even play.
- 1:55:42Speaker 6: I will probably go to a game because there's still
- 1:55:45Speaker 6: like like the juniors are a lot of TJ's friends
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: and whatnot.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: I'll probably go and watch a game. But be tough.
- 1:55:52Speaker 2: I'm not going to be going to all the games.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: That's tough.
- 1:55:57Speaker 8: I mean I'm glad Paul's going through it first because
- 1:55:58Speaker 8: I'm like five years behind him.
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: And now I want to my niece.
- 1:56:02Speaker 6: My niece is volleyball player. She's going to be a
- 1:56:04Speaker 6: senior at Fenwick and she's the captain of one of
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: the captains in the volleyball So I was telling about
- 1:56:10Speaker 6: no pressure, but I'm going to every game. I might
- 1:56:12Speaker 6: be going to the road games, like I just need something.
- 1:56:15Speaker 4: So I have to admit this is when you know,
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: my kid played lacrosse so at a high level too,
- 1:56:21Speaker 4: when Connor put when he went when he went to college,
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: I would once in a while go to a high
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: school game, and uh, I kind of act like I
- 1:56:30Speaker 4: was a scout. So like like I sit by myself
- 1:56:35Speaker 4: and like like really, you know, put notes into my stuff,
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: so the parents would would think, like, oh.
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: Johns Hopkins from Maryland. I heard Maryland give him head fakes.
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: I like doing that.
- 1:56:49Speaker 6: It was bad enough for Will's senior year, like he
- 1:56:52Speaker 6: didn't play baseball anymore. And obviously I coached a million
- 1:56:55Speaker 6: of these kids in baseball. So Will senior year. I
- 1:56:57Speaker 6: went to a lot of the home I went to
- 1:56:59Speaker 6: I think every home baseball game, and my kids wasn't playing,
- 1:57:03Speaker 6: and they would go to me like they were, Paul,
- 1:57:05Speaker 6: what's the score because.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: They know that I wouldn't know, because you keep it
- 1:57:10Speaker 2: was a keeping score.
- 1:57:11Speaker 6: But as this one guy was, he always said he
- 1:57:14Speaker 6: goes he had an like when we first met, it
- 1:57:16Speaker 6: was like thirteen year old aau games, so like those
- 1:57:19Speaker 6: games are like twenty two sixteen, you know, as a
- 1:57:22Speaker 6: typical rule. And he's like, he's just he's always had
- 1:57:24Speaker 6: an uncanny knack of knowing exactly what the score was
- 1:57:27Speaker 6: in the situation in the inning all the time.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, that's kind of what I
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: do for a lift.
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: All right, well listen, that's gonna be.
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: We've got another guy on the phone.
- 1:57:37Speaker 4: Okay, well we'll wrap up the phones here.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: Emery is in Virginia. Hey, Emery, Hey, how are you doing?
- 1:57:46Speaker 9: Gentlemen?
- 1:57:46Speaker 2: Okay, n we tried Kyle Williams.
- 1:57:53Speaker 9: I'm excited about this kid. I know he hasn't played
- 1:57:56Speaker 9: a game in the NFL yet, but just watching his
- 1:57:59Speaker 9: tape here and all the good stuff about him. Are
- 1:58:02Speaker 9: there any concerns about him playing on the outside when
- 1:58:05Speaker 9: we've had some small receives before like Beyond Branch, Brandon, Fillip,
- 1:58:09Speaker 9: Door Set the name a few, please please share with Yeah, yeah.
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: I think that's probably. There's a lot of positives about
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: Kyle Williams. But the question that everybody has is a
- 1:58:21Speaker 3: physicality of the NFL game and being able to play
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: through contact and get off the line. So he's got
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: a great release package with his feet and great quickness
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: off the line. But once guy's in the.
- 1:58:32Speaker 2: One nine, tiny, but he's on the smaller.
- 1:58:37Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the plant. Like to Embry's point, I think
- 1:58:41Speaker 6: he's asking can he be the X? I've seen a
- 1:58:42Speaker 6: lot of people have their sort of quasi depth chart,
- 1:58:45Speaker 6: and he's the XY.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, is he going to be able to
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: win the ball down the field?
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:58:52Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:58:52Speaker 9: You know?
- 1:58:52Speaker 3: In the NFL it's you're not going to be ten
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: yards behind the defense very often like you are in college.
- 1:58:57Speaker 3: So is he going to be able to finish through contact,
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: win contested catches, win jump balls down the field?
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: Fair question.
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: Those are going to be the things that will separate
- 1:59:06Speaker 3: whether he's great, you know, good or great. That's why
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: I want the biggest day flowers much smaller. But he
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: plays in this you know, Okay, he's five to nine.
- 1:59:14Speaker 2: But downfield, oh you can get downfield out of the slot.
- 1:59:17Speaker 6: But I think that people are wondering can you play
- 1:59:19Speaker 6: on the outside, because I think the Patriots have a
- 1:59:21Speaker 6: lot of similar kind of receivers with like a lot
- 1:59:23Speaker 6: of zas and move around.
- 1:59:25Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: All right, Well that'll be it. Once again.

- 2:00:03Speaker 3: I don't know if he's good, but he golfs Okay, Yeah,
