- 0:00Here's today's topic. If Kelly Earnhardt Miller and
- 0:05Mark the Kid Martin out of Batesville, AR were in charge of
- 0:10NASCAR. Now, I don't know if that would
- 0:14ever happen because I think they're really happy doing what
- 0:18they're doing. But the reason we're going to go
- 0:21down this rabbit hole is because that's all anybody ever talks
- 0:25about. You know, sometimes it's worth
- 0:27talking about something that people talk about.
- 0:31And that's what I do here. All I see all the time is Mark
- 0:34Martin needs to be in charge of NASCAR.
- 0:39Kelly Earnhardt Miller needs to be in charge of NASCAR.
- 0:43So let me give my opinion on this.
- 0:46I know a thing or two about both of these.
- 0:48They're both my very good friends and Kelly Earnhardt
- 0:52Miller, you respond right here, sweetheart.
- 0:55Both of them extremely smart. I've known Kelly Earnhardt
- 1:01Miller, God, oh man, since I've been in my 20s.
- 1:06And just a couple highlights about her.
- 1:09She's a bad ass. She's extremely smart.
- 1:14She's just a great lady. One time I was talking to her
- 1:19and I texted her and she'd called me back.
- 1:23She goes, Kenny, there is an E in my name.
- 1:27And if you're watching this, Kelly, you're laughing right
- 1:30now. Don't spell her name, Kelly.
- 1:35She said Kenny. It's KELLEYI said Kelly.
- 1:39I've never spelled it wrong again.
- 1:43Now, the other thing that Kelly told me that I'd like to share
- 1:46with you all is she gave me some of the greatest advice of my
- 1:50life. So she's a critical thinker.
- 1:53She's very smart, like I've already said.
- 1:56But just to tell you why Kelly Earnhardt Miller is an executive
- 2:01and she said to me one day, Kenny Wallace, I like you
- 2:05because you are a no maintenance friend.
- 2:09Now I've done a Kenny conversation with Kelly and you
- 2:12should go check it out on the Kenny Wallace YouTube show.
- 2:15It's very good and I knew exactly what she meant when she
- 2:19said Kenny Wallace, I like you. You're a no maintenance friend.
- 2:24Sometimes when you get friends, they just can't give you a
- 2:27break. They got to be all in your ass
- 2:29and calling you and texting you. And but Kelly, I don't need to
- 2:34talk to her for six months. And then when I do talk to her,
- 2:37it's like we just left left off. In other words, it's it's just
- 2:41like we've been talking each other for a long time.
- 2:45And isn't it true that those are some of the best people?
- 2:48We're busy and you're busy. But whatever you need, call me
- 2:53and and I got you. And that's the type of person I
- 2:56am. OK, Mark, the kid, Martin.
- 3:00Mark. I've known Mark ever since I've
- 3:03been a child. I mean, Mark, I tell you right
- 3:05now. And when Mark rolled up the hill
- 3:08one month ago in his motor coach to my house for coffee with
- 3:14Kenny, it reminded me why he is such a great race car driver and
- 3:20he is in the Hall of Fame and he has done it all.
- 3:24You know, his father, Julian Martin, owned a trucking
- 3:27company. Mark's been part of dealerships.
- 3:31Mark is a brilliant mind. And Mark reminded me of this
- 3:35when we got to talking. You know, Mark was having fun
- 3:39and but he was very serious saying we need to put the
- 3:43numbers of the car back in the middle.
- 3:45The aesthetics matter. Mark was saying, the fans are
- 3:49telling me they want the old point system back, you know, and
- 3:53I was on my high horse saying, listen, NASCAR's great,
- 3:57everybody's old. They're just complaining.
- 4:01So Mark rolled up my hill and we did a record 2 days of content.
- 4:09Mark Martin is a brilliant mind. He can, he can see things that
- 4:13people can't see. And that was my take away from
- 4:17Mark. Mark knew that NASCAR was headed
- 4:21down the wrong path with these points.
- 4:22And I, I didn't see it. I just didn't.
- 4:25I just my, my defense was that I didn't think it was a big deal
- 4:30'cause we went for years and nobody said a thing about it.
- 4:33And then all of a sudden this year, you know, Mark come up and
- 4:37said, hey, you know, Mark said something to me I'll never
- 4:40forget. He says there's a reason those
- 4:42old NASCAR races on YouTube get such a big view, viewership.
- 4:52So what would it look like of both of these great people,
- 4:56Kelly Earnhardt Miller and Mark Martin?
- 4:58What would it look like if they worked for NASCAR?
- 5:01Well, Kelly Earnhardt Miller, what would she bring?
- 5:04She would bring executive skills better than anybody because
- 5:08she's running race teams, she's running employees, She's working
- 5:11with sponsorship. They even have a real estate
- 5:14company. I know that because I had 12
- 5:18rental homes. And I told Kelly.
- 5:20I said, yeah, I sold my 12 rental homes to David Reagan.
- 5:23Kelly said, oh, you should have told me, Herman.
- 5:25We'd love to have bought them. And I thought, well, I'll be
- 5:28damned. So there's a lot more to Kelly
- 5:31Earnhardt Miller than you ever want to dream of.
- 5:34So. So she is qualified and she's
- 5:37probably overqualified because she knows so damn much that she
- 5:44could be jaded. You know, sometimes when you
- 5:47know too much, it, it, it, it clouds what you're thinking.
- 5:51But in this case, I'm thinking to myself, you could be working
- 5:57in your race shop and can't get something right.
- 6:00And somebody walks in and they they see it because they have a
- 6:03fresh mind and they tell you how to fix it right away.
- 6:05And you're like, I'll be damned. I never saw that.
- 6:08And hear you come in with a fresh mind and you clean up this
- 6:12mess right away. I think that's what Kelly
- 6:15Earnhardt Miller and Mark Martin could do for NASCAR.
- 6:18However, Mark Martin is a millionaire over and over.
- 6:22And he's older than me, but nobody's old.
- 6:25I'm 62. I know Mark's got to be 6465,
- 6:29whatever it is. Does Mark Martin really want to
- 6:33go to work? I don't.
- 6:36I it's like Jeff Gordon. I'm like Mark, I'm like, you
- 6:40know, like Jeff Gordon. It's great that he works for
- 6:42Rick Henders, but I'm like, damn, Jeff, you're a legend.
- 6:46Do you really want to go back to work?
- 6:48I mean, is Jeff Gordon, is he working?
- 6:51If he is, that's a bitch. So my thought was Mark Martin
- 6:56and Kelly Earnhardt Miller, while we dream that they would
- 7:00be great for NASCAR, I don't think he'd want that job.
- 7:05Us fans, we'd love it. But I think most both of them, I
- 7:10think Kelly Earnhardt Miller and Mark Martin are millionaires
- 7:14over and over as it is right now.
- 7:16I'm sure that Dale Junior loves his sister so much that I think
- 7:22they they got it going on. And I'm sure, I'm sure Kelly's
- 7:25happy where she is now. Could she ride to the rescue and
- 7:30and be a white knight? Could a white knight saves the
- 7:35day? Could could Kelly Earnhardt
- 7:37Miller and Mark Martin? Could they save NASCAR?
- 7:39Yes. And if they decide to do it,
- 7:43maybe it could be from a a point where they don't have to go into
- 7:46the office every day that they could do some some phone calls
- 7:51or they could do some zooms and give NASCAR their opinions.
- 7:57Because I got to tell you, when I talked to these two, they
- 8:01changed me. They're smart.
- 8:04Smart as a whip. All right, everybody respond
- 8:07right here. I can see the headlines right
- 8:09now if Mark Martin and Kelly Earnhardt Miller were in charge
- 8:15of NASCAR.
