- 7:04[SPEAKER_11]: should be 31 this time here and we're up to what can we say it is I got 37 on my phone supposed to get up to 40 and uh... temperatures are going to hold up overnight at least and uh... uh... Tuesday thirty eight so i don't know if it's going to be you anything great but there's still a lot of ice out there and i want to warn you if you're especially if you knew to the area not that any minor listens to the show is new to the area but uh... or that stuff can fall off of
- 7:34[SPEAKER_11]: edge of the roof the eaves and kill you or kill whatever's under it and ruin your car too So there's an unusual amount of it this year.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_11]: I've been following it on the neighbor's house some's fallen And some of it's just hanging up there by a thread and the woman it goes it goes.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_11]: So just steer clear of it all and be safe.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_11]: Isn't it what we say be safe on this presence?
- 7:59[SPEAKER_11]: So that's the weather we gave our ice warning and we don't worry about the other ice that those hazardous ice and water time right now is a stuff hanging off your eaves All right
- 8:09[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, it's come home.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_11]: Hey, Tom home.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_11]: And what a great job he did on the talk shows over the weekend, the new show.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_11]: So yeah, represented the administration.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_11]: Well, told it like it is, and I'll tell you, even the life-saver mayor sent me a text praising the job that Tom home had did.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_11]: It's really, it wasn't working out that crazy guy, bovino.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, man, he was like, I'm not, not Minneapolis.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_11]: And then, you know, that miller guy at the White House, he doesn't come across well.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_11]: And, first of all, I don't know, anyway, Tom home and did a good job.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_11]: If you see him over at shorties, make sure you say that, okay?
- 8:52[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know if he's going to be up here.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_11]: He might be up here this weekend, you never know, within the sound of my voice.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_11]: You know, and if he is, he's welcome to call.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_11]: The only way he can get him on to show you have to arrange it through Scott Gray.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_11]: But anyway, you know, certainly, I'd like to meet him in person, bring him over here.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_11]: We'll pick up the tab, it's, it's sure he's.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_11]: Uh, let's see.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_11]: Little little podcast hadn't done one in a while.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_11]: Sorry about that with Colin Burns.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_11]: Um, you know, we've been talking to last year's candidates.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_11]: We talked to Mr. Monaco last week.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_11]: We've talked to Mr. Velasquez and Mr. Burns, right?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not saying they definitely are.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_11]: I'm saying they probably are running next to your base done my impressions I got from them.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, and that's okay.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, it doesn't mean they have to run.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_11]: I think Lisa Regero may run again.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_11]: I think she'll run for mayor against Dr. Kimball.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_11]: That's the race I see.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_11]: Now you can say I'm wrong.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_11]: What are you basically now done?
- 9:54[SPEAKER_11]: I'm basing it on my impressions.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_11]: Tea leaves, political tea leaves.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_11]: That's what we do here.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_11]: already um government shut down it's an embarrassment it's an embarrassment to the party who talks about the children and the working man and all that and as we're shutting it agencies down to have nothing to do with the issue at hand deal with that elsewhere deal with that in an election in November minority leader Hachim Jefferies
- 10:30[SPEAKER_11]: So, but the whole shutdown, the Coast Guard is one of the agencies.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_11]: Now, we have Coast Guard people here up on Welsie Island, lovely people.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_11]: I might add, they rescued me one time, so I have a special affinity for the Coast Guard on Welsie Island.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_11]: That was a long time ago before any of you Coast Guard's been in women were born.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_11]: But, my point is, why should they not get paid?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_11]: What is it about, you know, post-coast guards when I read New York?
- 11:00[SPEAKER_11]: Where's Kathy Hockel's Department of Labor and Division of Human Rights and AG and all of that?
- 11:06[SPEAKER_11]: Where are they?
- 11:07[SPEAKER_11]: On this.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_11]: Where are the workers' rights and all of this?
- 11:09[SPEAKER_11]: These people haven't been nothing wrong with their force to work and aren't getting paid.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, where's all the liberals on that?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_11]: Now as far as he's shocked down, I know there's a blame to go around, depending on which one you cite over the years.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_11]: But this one's a Democrat, and you got, I saw it there.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_11]: Senator from Delaware, well, it's a little inconvenience for people, but what are you accomplishing nothing?
- 11:35[SPEAKER_11]: Nothing.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, so we'll see, but if you want to change things, you've got to win an election.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_11]: And there's good reason to think that Democrats were winners, to juicy, and I always liked AOC, I thought she's kind of a fetching figure on the political stage, which she was over in Munich at this conference on defense and military and all that.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_11]: What she should have done, if she wanted to grow over there, is just to say, kind of, be more vague.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_11]: I'm really here to learn and to listen.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not over here to bash my country's foreign policy on foreign soil, something like that.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_11]: But the head of the EOC or whatever European Union or whatever, she asked AOC about, well, what about the US policy to commit troops to Taiwan if the Chinese decided to think the short trip across the channel there?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_11]: Well, it was like on the end of the Han.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_11]: And it is, and that it was a non-answer.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_11]: It was horrible, horrible word salad.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_11]: And it's a type of thing that may ruin her prospects because you just keep playing that tape back.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I mean, you shouldn't go into a setting like that.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_11]: Unless you know what you're talking about or you're willing to be humble and say, I'm here to hear, you know, listen to you folks and get it gain a better understanding of the European perspective on world affairs.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_11]: That's all, you know, say something like that.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_11]: But I wouldn't get into a panel discussion and have somebody bring up Taiwan and not know where Taiwan is, or what it is.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, well, I see I got out of Westmore of Maryland who was considered a possible Democratic presidential candidate in 2028 and said, nope, not interested.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_11]: He's a bright guy, well spoken, likeable, but he's going to stay in Maryland.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_11]: And I don't know, God is it.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_11]: I'm going to end up with Gavin Newsom, and don't get me wrong.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_11]: The 75 million people who voted for Kamala Harris will vote for Gavin Newsom.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, my God, what have you doing here on the air?
- 13:52[SPEAKER_16]: They're just, when I don't get about that whole unit security conference, what are all these people from the DNC doing over there from the opposition party?
- 14:03[SPEAKER_16]: When all the other countries were involved, they were even there.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_16]: Certainly didn't have their opposition there.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_16]: Hungry didn't.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_16]: None of those countries did.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_16]: So what's that all about?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you raise a good point.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_11]: Why is Gavin Newsom even there?
- 14:18[SPEAKER_11]: Yes.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_11]: Maybe I don't know.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_11]: Maybe Danny could call and tell us.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_11]: But there's no reason.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_11]: I guess if there's a observer role you could go, I don't know, but I mean you shouldn't be participating in panel discussions if you're if you hold no currency and live for US foreign relations.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_15]: I just really thought that was strange.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_15]: Hillary, who's there?
- 14:44[SPEAKER_11]: No, my game.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_11]: Hillary was there?
- 14:45[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, my, you didn't see Hillary exchange?
- 14:49[SPEAKER_11]: No, what's she doing there?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_16]: Who's asked about Epstein?
- 14:53[SPEAKER_11]: She's come on.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_16]: I actually didn't clear reply with all of these fans being into Epstein files.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, I'd go check that one out.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_16]: But anyway, that's why now whole thing is disgusting that they're there.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_16]: We know other countries send their oppositional leaders.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, and you're not there in Munich to talk about Epstein's stop it.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_11]: You know, exactly.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 15:24[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, thank you.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_11]: Thank you.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_11]: Bye now.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_11]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_16]: Good afternoon, Mayor.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_11]: It's Russ Finley from Lisbon.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_11]: How are you?
- 15:35[SPEAKER_16]: Well, not frosted today.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_11]: Well, we're getting a little bit of relief.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_11]: How is it up there?
- 15:40[SPEAKER_16]: Uh, anything is better than what we've had.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I think the last time I looked, according to the, uh, we were at 36 here.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_11]: with a pretty here a projected higher 40 and uh... we're getting a little bit of melt and not enough i was this warning our listeners be careful of falling ice yeah yeah i was just down to pick up a lot of feet at a farm that i get feed from and they had a lot of ice on the roof of the barn and it all came off just after i pulled out well but then you weren't there
- 16:20[SPEAKER_16]: big, big sheet ice, and big six-foot icicle.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_16]: So, yep.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_16]: So what's up, isn't dangerous?
- 16:29[SPEAKER_11]: We're a major figure in politics, certainly.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_11]: So understand it all.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_11]: What can we talk about?
- 16:34[SPEAKER_11]: I guess we can talk about it's president's day.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_11]: So do you have a favorite president, someone you respect the most?
- 16:46[SPEAKER_16]: Lincoln.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_11]: Lincoln and why would that be?
- 16:50[SPEAKER_16]: Um, just because of, he did a lot of foreshadowing up the stuff that we're going on right now.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_16]: Labor was prior to capital, but capital is the fruit of all labor.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_16]: So that some should be, so that some should be rich as proof that others can become rich and hence is just an urge to industry and enterprise.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_16]: Let not him who is houseless pulled down the house of another, but let him work diligently to build one for himself, thus ensuring by example that his shall be saved from violence once built.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_11]: Wow, you're pretty smart, you know, for a...
- 17:35[SPEAKER_11]: Anyway, that's great.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_16]: Well, present inauguration speech.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_11]: President Lincoln certainly is popular.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_11]: I was just say George Washington because it's a safe answer, you know?
- 17:45[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, what's going to dispute that father of a country, was he a slave holder?
- 17:50[SPEAKER_16]: He, he, he, no.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_11]: No.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_16]: He was just, uh, in an era when everybody was average five, six to five, eight.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_16]: He was six to so he was just revered as this big giant strapping man that just was undefeatable.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_16]: And the battle after they were the battle of Trenton after they crossed the Potomac.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_16]: They found afterwards that there was four bullet holes in his jacket, but he was overhead.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_11]: You don't want to cross the Potomac today, it stinks down there, do you hear that?
- 18:28[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, all the sewage coming out, but then again, Montréal does that every year to the St. Lawrence River, so nothing has changed.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, well that's it.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_11]: Now we've got around here.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_11]: uh... some politics here in the north country we've got got the governor's race which is turned into just a two person race and they're not going to allow any third party candidates so it's Kathy hokel or bruise blakeman how's that turn out uh... blakeman gets slaughtered by a record margin okay like fifty six forty four maybe something like that uh... and i'm i'm i'm i'm thinking it's probably a seventy thirty race
- 19:10[SPEAKER_16]: If he would have shut his mouth and let a least be governor the governor candidate, and he could have been lieutenant governor.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_13]: Right.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_16]: Then he would have done fine.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_16]: I heard him the other day on one of the serious XM channels talking about, oh, if we can just get gun owners out to vote, wait a minute.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_16]: You supported the safe act.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_16]: because he had an AR-15 and 3,000 rounds of ammo, and he was on a New York radio station.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_16]: He goes, what do you need 3,000 rounds of ammo for?
- 19:49[SPEAKER_16]: My answer was like Saturday.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_16]: Well, he's not known at all up here, and I haven't heard any of the local Republican intelligence, if that's a fair term, you know, talking about them, um, they also, well, he, he, his campaign thinks that the Canadian border is in New York through a, he, he doesn't, he does not care about upstate in New York, he doesn't understand the issues, and it, it's just, he's, so what, what is it, because he keeps saying, I'm so much
- 20:31[SPEAKER_16]: Well, no, you're not.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, he's run for offices, but lost.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_11]: He did get elected easily as Nassau County executive.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_11]: But that was just last fall.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_11]: And now all of a sudden he's running for governor.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_11]: I think he's more interested in getting, letting the mass of Piqua Indians keep their school name that anything else.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_16]: Well, yeah.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, this is a vanity campaign.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_16]: And he keeps saying, oh, Nassau County, we're outnumbered by Democrats to the one and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
- 21:24[SPEAKER_11]: it's where democrats who have been driven out by bad democrat policies go to live see that's so that they don't have to put up with you are sitting now that's our county is where i met roger stone we were in hamster for the group in a trail debate and uh... met him chatted with him and got a picture with him i know a lot of people don't like roger stone but he's involved in the north country this year in what way he's uh...
- 21:54[SPEAKER_16]: I've talked to four or five people from the continentino campaign that all say to the campaign signature, so they've got a lot of chiefs, and I don't know how many Indians, but he's either working, paying manager, or a campaign consultant for Anthony Constantino.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, and I think if you look at the commercials and listen to the radio spots he has on, they sound good, and he's running against the guy named Robert Smollin, who was an assemblyman
- 22:23[SPEAKER_11]: yeah and nobody knows who who he is but the republicans the at least a hierarchy that the poor by the county chairs and the well-conservative party there say they're backing him so that's a problem isn't well it is it is a problem and i don't think that small one is the kind of guy that if he loses the primary
- 22:53[SPEAKER_16]: And people are going to call me hypocritical for this, but he's going to stay on the conservative line.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_11]: Right.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_11]: Because if he loses the Republican primary in June, he can even know he used to be different rules.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_11]: But nowadays he can take himself off within three days or whatever it is.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_11]: And then the state committee, Mr. Cassar, they are could appoint someone else and presumably they'd put the Republican nominee on there.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_16]: And because far and Constantine are battling, there's no way that Constantine will ever get the conservative line.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_11]: Even if the White House, what's a finger on the scale?
- 23:30[SPEAKER_11]: This is an important seat.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_16]: It's an important seat, but I don't think, when it happened to me, when I ran, I couldn't drop out.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_11]: Right, because you had to be a lawyer to get off the line, yeah.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_16]: Right.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_16]: Now they've changed rules to say you can drop out and small and will not drop out just a screw constantino.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_11]: Hmm.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_11]: And are you convinced that constantino would win the primary?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_16]: Small enough such a fraud.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, he, his track record of the ill stuff that he's done
- 24:17[SPEAKER_16]: is beyond the pale.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, you talk about Latisha James and Adam Schiff and everything like this.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_16]: This guy did evil at four properties as owner occupied and got VA owner occupied mortgages and got the tax breaks to do with it, to do it, and then because he was tight with
- 24:45[SPEAKER_16]: into lowering the charges down to, like, J walking, and he had to pay the money back.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_16]: But he, you know, he got arrested for four felonies, he defrauded the VA, he swindled an old lady out of a piece of property, and then he was living in Schemeck today, but somehow on the John's Town Zoning Board,
- 25:09[SPEAKER_16]: and Mm-hmm.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_16]: I've moved his own solar farm in a residential area that nobody wanted.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_11]: Wow, you should be a consultant at Constantine O'er.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_11]: Do I?
- 25:19[SPEAKER_11]: Maybe Rogers should call you.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_16]: Well...
- 25:23[SPEAKER_11]: I have always got my phone on me, but it never seems to ring, so... As you know more about the political terrain up here in the skeletons, and uh...
- 25:33[SPEAKER_11]: If you've dealt with all these people for years, I mean, whatever people think of Russ Finley, he knows the turf.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_16]: that's what you got to do I mean it's you're gonna if you're gonna vote for somebody you know don't look at the don't look at the commercials look at the facts and and that's the thing I don't think Mr. Smollon has any I don't think he's raising any money I mean for what will be a multi-million dollar
- 26:08[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think he has a great campaign staff.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_16]: I think small one has, I think he's hired Washington DC type consultants and the problem is this district is a very weird district and you've got to be very, very immersed in it to know what's going on and it's very, you can't run a traditional Republican campaign
- 26:38[SPEAKER_16]: and be successful.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_16]: You've, you've, you've got to know the ins and the outs and the intricacies.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_11]: Well, they're, it's so spread out.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, it's a, you know, who knows where Washington County is, but it's in the district on the Vermont border, I believe.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_11]: And that's, what, 250 miles from here or 200 miles, I don't know if I are this.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, and, and, and the thing of it is, is we've got, this, this district is there, because of the Adorondack Mountains.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_16]: You've got the mountains, you've got the Champlain Valley, you've got the River Region, then you've got a portion of Central New York and they're all very different and all very diverse.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_16]: The people are different, it's not just a district where you can run one blanket campaign.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_16]: You've got to be, well that's why Elise was successful.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_16]: She was here there in everywhere and knew the issues.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_16]: of each individual portion of the district so she could flow into that room.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_16]: But you know, it's, it's, it's the reason why Zelden lost, it's the reason why Moanaro lost.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_16]: You can't come to Upstate New York and talk about New York City issues.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_16]: You can't go to the Champlain Valley and talk about St. Lawrence River issues or Mohawk Valley issues and the closure of Remington.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_16]: different stuff like that.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_16]: It's well, literally running five different campaigns in one campaign.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_11]: So the woman who you mentioned, Congresswoman, at least a fanick, it would be traditional, wouldn't it for the incumbent who's decided to leave office to weigh in on the primary?
- 28:20[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, she's in the district, she's got a vote for somebody.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_11]: What she's going to do in the
- 28:30[SPEAKER_16]: I don't honestly know, all I can say is, Smolan has licked the further wrong way on a lot of people.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, the other thing was, he sued Sumec Niel, his own Republican County chair.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_16]: So there's not a lot of people that like him.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_16]: What Elise is gonna do when she goes into devoting boots,
- 28:59[SPEAKER_11]: I couldn't give an honest answer, um, you know, that's one of my favorite expressions from Russ Finn that you lick before the wrong way.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_11]: So, I was using the phrase, don't be the skunk at the picnic and somebody the other day.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_11]: So, I never heard that.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_11]: You've heard that one, haven't you?
- 29:18[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, I got the skunk at the picnic in the punch ball, uh, yeah, but, you know, the old farm
- 29:29[SPEAKER_16]: If you want to upset an animal, lick the further wrong way or rub the further wrong way.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_16]: But yeah, I mean I couldn't, I know that at least will not weigh in on this race.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_16]: She's going to stay out of it.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_16]: She's just far too graceful for that.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_16]: What she does in the privacy of the voting booth.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_16]: I know constant details running a decent campaign, I've talked to some of his campaign people.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_11]: He seems to be projecting a little different image than last year, last year it was kind of like, whoa, and this year it's a little more, and I think he's got to do that.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_11]: It's okay to be iconoclastic, but you've also got to, you know, I mean, obviously Federmint got away with a lot and want a Senate seat, but you know, you got to keep
- 30:24[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, but the problem with the successful business man going into politics is they're used to giving orders and You know, you walk into a place and if you do this and you do that and you do this and you do that You can't go out and tell people you have to vote for me You you you have to learn to shut up and listen to people understand their things
- 30:52[SPEAKER_16]: you know understand their issues and and talk to them about different things and and have answers for them and sometimes you have to answer a question with a question and say okay I'm not familiar with this issue what what do you suggest what do you think needs to be done and that's one of the very tough things about a business person going in because they
- 31:19[SPEAKER_16]: there there's somebody that's got to have the answers of the drop of the hat and they come out and you know what about this issue well i think this while i disagree with you then the argument and so is and now you're in trouble and i and i think uh... a constant he knows done a pretty good job at turning it down and you know we'll see what happens i just
- 31:42[SPEAKER_16]: There is no way in hell that I would ever drive for miles to the voting booth to give Bob Smallen.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_16]: You know, my vote is the guy.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, don't go too far now, don't.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_16]: He doesn't deserve to be in the assembly much less Congress, my opinion.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, fair enough, fair enough.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_16]: uh... anything else going on politically i don't see a lot i mean uh... refighted over these hospitals on own what the deal is there that you i've been spurking carthage that's too bad you know here's here's my problem with the whole real hospital issue or the hospital issue in general uh... first of all the reason why we have a tough time getting doctors is who the hell wants to come here
- 32:33[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, doctors go to school for all those years and spend all that money so that they can be a doctor and have a social life and hang out at the country club and send their kids to good schools and whatever, anybody, any doctor with a brain is going to pick up the paper, read the paper, you know, this flight at this school, this drug overdose,
- 33:03[SPEAKER_16]: The other thing is, you look at these rural hospitals.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_16]: Look at what the hell the CEO of the hospital makes.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_16]: It's ungodly.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_16]: It means being the CEO, I can understand a couple of 100,000, 250,000 maybe to be the CEO or administrator of like Samaritan, which is a huge hospital or Platsburg or something like that, which is a huge hospital.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_16]: Ogden'sburg and Cartage and some of these other little rinky-dink hospitals, and these guys are making a half a million dollars a year, and they don't do anything.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_16]: No.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, I think there's a lot of money spent that doesn't need to be spent.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_11]: And... Well, up at Cartage, they burn through all, and they add all these endowments and stuff from people who probably left money to the hospital.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_11]: And they burn through all that, and I don't know, they're looking for a state bailout, aren't they?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_16]: I mean our schools, you know, when this is at the Alabama and one other sudden, this is what is at the Alabama and Arkansas are now leading the nation in the process, progress on math and reading scores, and they spend about $11,000 per student per year.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_16]: and New York State is spending upwards of 31,000 per year in the ranked mid-to-bottom forties, out of 62 counties, no, that's the problem.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_16]: New York's answer to everything is just keep throwing more money at it and every bit of fiscal mismanagement is given to this and
- 34:52[SPEAKER_16]: you know let let's face it you know New York will bail these hospitals out why because all the employees are under the S.E.I.U.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_16]: and they were at Union vote so they had to have to do it so the hospitals for the S.E.I.U.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_16]: and they got to keep throwing money to the schools for the teachers Union vote.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_11]: Okay sounds good well listen I got to get going to the commercials to do but we appreciate your filling you sin and don't lick the further on way.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_16]: I'll try not to.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_11]: I hear you.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_11]: Thanks, Ross.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_11]: Bye now.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_11]: Yep, bye.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_11]: And we'll be back with more in a moment.

- 38:53[SPEAKER_11]: Uh, let's see.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_11]: So, I headline on here on newschunk.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_11]: It might be interesting.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_11]: Governor Hockel and Mayor Mamdami announced a $1.5 billion for New York City.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, what are they doing?
- 39:08[SPEAKER_11]: This is from New York.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_11]: New York State will provide an additional 1.5 billion over two fiscal years to help New York City address ongoing financial challenges.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_11]: Now, that's not a lot of money up there.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know what their budgets are, but you know, help them out.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_11]: What about the ongoing fiscal challenges here in Watertown, Governor?
- 39:34[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_14]: not that we have a marimame dummy here or anything like that but after you're on the air but after no Jeff earlier on your show today you mentioned about how you were rescued by the coast guards on years ago and if you feel comfortable commenting about that i'd like to i'd be interested in and hearing about it and i'll take your comments off here and i think we'll talk in a moment i got a call here good afternoon here on the air
- 40:05[SPEAKER_11]: the end, the end frances.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, well, good afternoon here on the air.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, though.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_11]: Well, anyway, the one caller asked about the Coast Guard.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_11]: They have told this story before.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_11]: I know you can turn down your hearing aids if you heard it before, but, oh, okay, this was back.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_11]: I think in the 80s, I had a small boat.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_11]: I think it was an AMF lightning.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_11]: It was like 16 feet or something, sailboat.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_11]: And I took this woman out on, it was like a date or something, when say I thought it would impress her, you know.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_11]: And got out, we were over by, kind of between heart island and wealthy island, that area in there.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_11]: And it gets tough for that current to get yourself back up rivered, where we had launched.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_11]: But the wind weather came up quick.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_11]: boat went over went turtle mascot stuck in the mud we had life jackets on of course but uh... no prospect for getting out of that mass in the co-scard somebody called the co-scard and they came and rescued us and told our boat back which i've always appreciated that and it's just one of those things that realize how special it is to have those folks there to help
- 41:30[SPEAKER_11]: And I'm sorry they're not getting paid.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_11]: I'm sorry the Democrats won't let you get paid this week.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_11]: So, well, there you go.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_11]: And you know what?
- 41:39[SPEAKER_11]: She never went out with me again.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, well, but after noon you're on the air.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, we get some probably when you're real at day, don't you?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_11]: Well, you're on the air.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_11]: Go ahead, Dan.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I see.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_16]: I first thought that happy president's day.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, well, the same to you.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_16]: Who is your family's pretty smart guy.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_16]: He's really very partisan in one way, but he's very knowledgeable.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_16]: It's the interest market.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_11]: Who's your favorite president?
- 42:07[SPEAKER_16]: But you started out to show by talking about the Munich thing and went to know why Gavin Newsom was a Munich during the official talk.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_16]: So they're between Witt
- 42:20[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I think it's he's he's more qualified to be there than Jared Kushner Oh my god, there's a president son and name only, but it's good guy that you get billions and billions of dollars from the Saudi Arabians and what have you?
- 42:32[SPEAKER_11]: How about he go back?
- 42:33[SPEAKER_16]: I think that's the best the big issue wouldn't I think a new sum is there to gain some knowledge and Well, wouldn't a official position, but he's what's going on in the EU But damn damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn
- 42:47[SPEAKER_16]: the government he's governor of california way way out of the league and we need not even a government official well who's that capacity what do you think of a.o.c.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_11]: no no Danny listen what did you think of a.o.c.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_16]: and she's a good speaker uh... her comments with a little bit you know maybe off the wall but uh... you know she she's it she's a smart woman uh... but she is i like her but i mean you know
- 43:15[SPEAKER_11]: If she were here in the studio, you know, I'd be honored, but holy cow, that was a horrible answer.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_11]: And also Governor Newsom might be better off being at the Pacific Palisades helping those people get building permits who don't have been without a home for over a year.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_11]: That's my opinion.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_16]: But you're going to have that any time you have two officials of any level or maybe on the same same party team, but we'll look different views.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_13]: Right.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_16]: You're going to have some turmoil like that in some different contradictions and different criticisms and views and what have you.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_16]: That's expected.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_16]: I just, I look past that and go with the one I had, that I can favor over the other than whatever.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_11]: Okay.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_11]: All right.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_11]: Well, listen.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_11]: I got to run Danny.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_16]: Anyway, after president's day to everybody out there and I think it's good to just put you this down on piece of paper who you think was the best president all the way to the worst Well, who was the best president?
- 44:03[SPEAKER_16]: Quickly Abraham Lincoln.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_11]: Okay.

- 56:17[SPEAKER_11]: The one they put out say he beats a small in 43, 16, 41% of decided.

- 56:51[SPEAKER_11]: If that asks the boss about that, but What afternoon you're on the air?
- 56:56[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, I don't listen there.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_11]: What's up?
- 56:58[SPEAKER_14]: Hey, how are you right there, President?

- 57:06[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_16]: He was a good one.
- 57:17[SPEAKER_11]: mm-hmm today well he did he was a personable guy yeah a lot of people agree with him should i don't know if you can pick one out of the forty five but uh... you know it's uh... he certainly up on the list well i think uh... Lincoln in Washington just had to be the right place at the right time in a way nobody have a lot of our listeners are big
- 57:48[SPEAKER_11]: Okay All right listen, I got a run.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_11]: I got a call.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_11]: Thanks.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_15]: All right now, but after doing you're on the air Hey Jeff, you brought up gravity and that it was gonna be turned off.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_15]: Yes So there is no gravity.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_15]: There's no gravity right now.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_15]: So you know how you said like sometimes two things can be true So there will be no gravity during that time but the thing is there is no gravity
- 58:15[SPEAKER_15]: So gravity is actually a theory, and there's two theories of gravity.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_15]: One is mass attracts mass, and the other one is like a, uh, working epsilon.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, wait a minute, I mean.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_15]: Even the scientists can't agree to what it is.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_15]: What we observe is density, buoyancy.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_11]: You want to see gravity stop on a scale, that'll show you what gravity is.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_15]: No, because listen, what if I stand on a scale in water?
- 58:39[SPEAKER_15]: What if I go into a pool look to my neck and stand on a scale?
- 58:45[SPEAKER_11]: Well, that's not accurate.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_15]: Well, okay, it's density and buoyancy.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_15]: So, and also, let's go statics and frequencies and determine what will go up or down.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_11]: So, do you think, do you think gravity is renewable disappear for seven seconds in August?
- 59:04[SPEAKER_15]: It doesn't exist today and it won't exist then and it will never exist.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_15]: It's only a theory, okay, and there's two theories of it, like I said.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_15]: Okay, well, who's your favorite?
- 59:14[SPEAKER_15]: Who's your favorite president because I got a run well I've been thinking about it and I really don't know But I do like roses out because of the national parks and he was in that get it
- 59:26[SPEAKER_15]: All right, sounds good.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_11]: I don't really.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_11]: Thanks, favorite.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_11]: I got to run by now.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_11]: We didn't get into who the worst was, but I think we got a pretty good idea Let's see, that's our show for today.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_11]: Now, I think Glenn Couriel be in it You know, he won't be in it five because he took the day off, but I'll be back tomorrow with another addition of America's favorite noon time talk show
- 59:47[SPEAKER_11]: And we'll have lots to say, okay, lots to say.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_11]: I want to remind you, you're listening to the hotline on a community broadcaster station.
