- 0:59SPEAKER_05: Welcome everyone.
- 1:00SPEAKER_05: Jamie, why don't you do the intro?
- 1:03SPEAKER_03: Welcome to the cleaning business live.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: I am your co-host, Jamie Runko, and I am with Shannon, Holly, Drew, Erin, and Molly, all co-founders of the Clean Con.
- 1:20SPEAKER_05: That's a sound effect.
- 1:24SPEAKER_05: So we're so excited to have you here.
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: It's an interesting evolution because it was just a mentioning before.
- 1:30SPEAKER_05: And then it became like, oh my gosh, let's get Holly.
- 1:33SPEAKER_05: And then she's like, let's have everybody.
- 1:34SPEAKER_05: I was like, okay.
- 1:36SPEAKER_05: So thank you very much for coming on the show.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, thanks for having us.
- 1:41SPEAKER_05: Happy to be here.
- 1:42SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: Happy to be back.
- 1:44SPEAKER_05: Awesome.
- 1:44SPEAKER_05: Awesome.
- 1:45SPEAKER_03: So why don't you guys do like a little introduction?
- 1:49SPEAKER_03: We'll go down the line and tell our audience who you guys are, what you guys do, how long have you been in business?
- 1:57SPEAKER_03: And yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: You want me to go first?
- 2:01SPEAKER_07: Sure, go ahead.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Holly Moore.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: I am the owner of Mains and Moore Residential Cleaning Service for the past 18 years.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: We are in Austin and Houston, Texas.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: We have over 150 cleaning technicians and I love the cleaning industry.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: And then I had also started a second business called the Cleaning Software, mainly out of necessity to handle my own schedule and business.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: And so now we have a the cleaning software is essentially a uh CRM that manages cleaning services, all the way from sales to scheduling to payment to payroll.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: So then I have three awesome friends, and we co-founded CleanCon.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: And we are all so alike in that we really want to support and legitimize and professionalize our industry and have a place for us all to join.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: So that's how CleanCon was born.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: So that is my story.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 2:56SPEAKER_04: Molly?
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: Sure, yeah.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: So I'm Molly, I'm Molly Moran.
- 3:00SPEAKER_04: And first and foremost, uh I own a cleaning company called Green Sweep in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- 3:05SPEAKER_04: I've had that for 17 years.
- 3:07SPEAKER_04: And I've got about 45 cleaning technicians on staff right now and a great leadership team.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: And I then I started a second business called Libbrite, and it's a coaching program for entrepreneurs in the service industry.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: We work a lot on leadership and leadership, personal development, profits, and other fun stuff.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: And then last but not least, like Holly said, uh I am a co-founder of CleanCon, which I'm super excited to be here talking about today.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Awesome, gross.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: I wanted to go last, so this is perfect.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: This is my uh wife and business partner Aaron, and we are owners of Five Door Media.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: We are a marketing agency built for the cleaning industry, built for cleaning companies that are ready to grow and build and grow their impact, as well as we are part of this ragtag group of clean clean confounders.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: So super pumped to be here, super pumped to be in this industry helping it and just growing the impact that this industry makes for their for their customers.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Ditto to everything he just said.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: We have been in business for now 11 years that we started as our uh legacy agency, and then really developed like this love of cleaning companies and the ways that we can help grow those impacts.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: So again, like you said, like we all said, super happy to be here and just super happy to watch CleanCon continue to evolve.
- 4:28SPEAKER_05: Awesome.
- 4:30SPEAKER_05: I guess the first question I have is you have Clean Con twice in one year.
- 4:35SPEAKER_05: Is that gonna be a continuous thing or is that just for the launch year?
- 4:43SPEAKER_04: That's such a great question.
- 4:45SPEAKER_04: And in truth, that is all I I would say that's all to be revealed at our second event.
- 4:52SPEAKER_04: Gotcha.
- 4:53SPEAKER_04: We like to keep you know some stuff in store and and surprise for folks that are coming to the event.
- 4:58SPEAKER_04: So we'll we'll be sharing more of that at the event in Austin.
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: Right, guys?
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: I've been seeing that.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: I love how you guys built it up on who you were revealing on the keynote speaker, which is uh Kristen.
- 5:17SPEAKER_03: And can you guys tell me a little bit like for our audience that doesn't know who she is, who she is, and how did how'd that all come about?
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Molly, that's all you.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: All right, I'll take that one.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: But I know you are excited.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I am Kristen.
- 5:37SPEAKER_04: So our our keynote speaker for this clean con is Kristen Hadid, and it's been really important to us as as we've done this event, as we plan this event, to have to bring outside speakers in who are who have written books and impacted our industry and industries around us in really significant ways.
- 5:58SPEAKER_04: Kristen Hadeed was a, you know, at our first event we had Mike McCallowitz.
- 6:01SPEAKER_04: I think we all know that.
- 6:02SPEAKER_04: And then at this one, uh Kristen Hadeed is a she's a best-selling author.
- 6:08SPEAKER_04: She wrote uh she wrote an incredible book called uh called Permission to Screw Up.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: And it was all about how she launched a cleaning company while in college and employed a bunch of college workers and built a huge, uh, a huge company doing that.
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: And all the screw ups that she had along the way, she's a very natural fit to yeah, she's a very natural fit because she's an incredibly authentic person.
- 6:31SPEAKER_04: And she's she's now expanded beyond just having a cleaning company.
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: In fact, I believe she sold, she did sell her cleaning company about four years ago, five years ago, and she focuses on leadership development, culture, and all kinds of things for medium and actually very large businesses around the country and the world.
- 6:49SPEAKER_04: So she's a very it's good, it's like almost like a homecoming.
- 6:52SPEAKER_04: She's so excited to be there too.
- 6:54SPEAKER_04: She's like, and she's interestingly, she has not done much speaking or in in our industry.
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: So we feel really psyched that we get to highlight and bring her back in.
- 7:04SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: That was one of my favorite comments I saw when we did reveal it online.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Somebody was like, Oh, I've known about her for years and I've never speaked at, I've never seen her speak at industry events.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: This makes so much sense.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Like it to have her, like that's my favorite comment that I saw.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Because it's right.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Totally.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, it was such a natural fit, huh?
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 7:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_07: So very natural.
- 7:29SPEAKER_05: How did the the concept for clean con did you guys were out having a couple drinks?
- 7:34SPEAKER_05: Were you meet at a meeting?
- 7:36SPEAKER_05: How what how what was the evolution process?
- 7:38SPEAKER_05: I I don't you guys don't strike me, and I could be wrong as you know, playing poker and drinking scotch.
- 7:43SPEAKER_05: I'm like, I got this brilliant idea.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: So how did you hide our dreams well, man?
- 7:51SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 7:51SPEAKER_04: And I mean it was strip poker, Shannon, so that adds a whole other element to it.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: We are definitely a real group of people and like real people.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: So it was something like that.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: But first, uh, you had mentioned about the Kristen Hadid thing.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: I just thought that was really cool to to call out Five Door Media for doing that.
- 8:11SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's an exam, a cool example of what they do for cleaning companies and marketing.
- 8:16SPEAKER_02: So the buildup.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was good.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: Build up, the excitement, getting people to engage.
- 8:22SPEAKER_03: I see I watched it.
- 8:23SPEAKER_03: I watched and I was like, come on, tell us.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: So I'll tell you how it kind of started.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: Me and Molly have been friends for a while, and then Drew, we met in Vegas a couple of years ago, and we like, I don't know, it's gonna sound really cheesy, but when I say you when you just meet three kindred spirits that couldn't be itty more like, like we are nothing alike.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: I'm like the Texas girl, and and and they're indie in the Midwest, and then you have Molly.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: It's just but we just get each other.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: We all have the same beliefs and ethics, and we and we are a fun group of people.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: So we were a huge convention, and all three of us being friends and having kind of hung out and went to a bunch of different events together before.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: I've been wanting to do something like this because I feel like for me in the industry, I got pushed out no matter where I went.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: People wouldn't even let me join their groups.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: I'm like, why?
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: And it's like so clicky and just I don't understand.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, so just talking about it and then other people complaining that why is it there's somewhere where we can just all join and there's no drama and there's no clickiness, and it's actually for the industry by the industry.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: So me and Molly have been talking about, and then then Drew, and then we were at huge, and I was like, guys, let's just do it.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: And then three months later, we had our first click.
- 9:43SPEAKER_03: It almost feels like it's getting ready to be like this big, huge concert, you know, like you're getting ready to go.
- 9:49SPEAKER_03: Like that's exactly how Drew, I think that's basically where you came in and made everybody so excited about it because everybody behind the doors on on social media is just absolutely talking about this.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and like I don't know, I in no way alone can take like credit of like social hype.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: We've got an awesome team at Five Door Media that is like helping with content.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: We've got awesome video people helping out video content.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: We've got just like honestly, that's a really cool thing about this whole team.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Is we've all got, I mean, like Molly's assistant Danielle is helping, Shelly's or Shelly from the TCS is helping.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: We've got our team helping with stuff.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Like, in no way is this a solo effort kind of thing going on, which thank God, because I can't imagine trying to put something on like this if it was just Five Door or if it was just Live Bright or if it was just TCS, because guys, it's a lot of work.
- 10:51SPEAKER_07: It is, yeah.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: And I think when we first started, we talk about it all the time, but it's funny, you've got three visionaries and Holly and Molly and I, and then thank God Aaron's the integrator and all of it.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: But like I think we would have had like cheese and crackers if it was just up to Holly and I, and Molly first of it, you know, like we've got such a really good team helping out in all aspects of it.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: And like actually, yesterday, the shout out to um Ali on our team, and like she's helping out a lot with the content and kind of like being our big help from the five-door side.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: And she was in a meeting and she started saying us instead of like clean con.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: Like, she's adding herself into it.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: I'm like, man, what a cool feeling that is.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Like, even our teams that are helping out how are starting to take ownership of this event because they know how much it's going to be helping and impacting the industry as a whole, and like they're the work they're doing in it is becoming personal, and it's it's a really cool thing to see everybody's teams involved and putting it on.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Because, like I said, it is so much work, and right, I like the end of the first one.
- 11:59SPEAKER_03: That kind of goes into our next question is how do you guys divide up everything without stepping on each other's toes?
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: Or get it like, you know, how is that?
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Well, the first I'll start this like the first event was beautiful chaos.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Like there was like uh stepping on toes, but not in like a bad way.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: It was just there's so much that needed done.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Yep, and how do we get it all done, right?
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: And like I I remember there was a moment I was setting up bar booth, I got done with that, and I saw papers that needed to go on tables.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: So I'm putting papers on tables.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: I saw this, and like everybody just saw things that needed to be done and did them, you know.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: And then I think after our first debrief meeting after the first event, that's when we were like, all right, let's create some buckets of responsibility.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: So it is more controlled.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So I mean, that's what we've done.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Like, what is what is each individual strengths?
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Who brings what to the table the best?
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: And then how do we divide and conquer from there?
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Well, and I think like that it really has been this incredible marriage of all of these strengths and all of these ideas and all these action plans that have come together.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Um I have a fair amount of event planning background.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: So I think that helped a decent amount in getting us started and doing uh and really figuring out like how do we how how do we do this?
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: How do we eat this elephant?
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: And it's just been it's been incredible to sort of watch all that continue to really organically and naturally evolve.
- 13:30SPEAKER_05: I think that's awesome.
- 13:31SPEAKER_05: You can hear people on the ground laughing.
- 13:33SPEAKER_05: You guys are having a party.
- 13:34SPEAKER_05: Some one of you is having a party in the background.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: I was like, and I just fine.
- 13:42SPEAKER_05: That's like being in my house.
- 13:45unknown: You're good.
- 13:46SPEAKER_05: The kids are in the back doing whatever.
- 13:48SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 13:49SPEAKER_05: You're front, you're dogs are barking.
- 13:51SPEAKER_02: I thought because I was using this that I wouldn't get the background noise, but I guess you're totally fine.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: It's work.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: It's there's a yeah, there's quite a bit of yeah, whatever.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: That seems to be good.
- 14:03SPEAKER_04: No, Holly.
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: No, Holly's muted.
- 14:07SPEAKER_04: Honey, just drop your chat, just drop your comments in the chat.
- 14:11SPEAKER_04: We'll be sure to out there for you, Holly.
- 14:15SPEAKER_05: Oh my goodness.
- 14:17SPEAKER_05: I'm sensing a book coming out of this.
- 14:21SPEAKER_05: Oh I'm thinking that you guys are gonna create a book that's gonna lead the rest of us on how to do these types of events and what to connect with.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Whose bucket is that?
- 14:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 14:34SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 14:35SPEAKER_05: I think that I I can sense that coming out in just the the way the industry is going.
- 14:39SPEAKER_05: We're all here to help the industry go in the direction that we feel it needs to go.
- 14:43SPEAKER_05: And finally, we're getting recognition.
- 14:44SPEAKER_05: Even Grant Cardone, you see his commercials on Facebook.
- 14:48SPEAKER_05: I'm like, and how many toilets have you cleaned, Grant?
- 14:51SPEAKER_05: It's just like, give me a break.
- 14:52SPEAKER_05: It's uh it's interesting to see that the movement in our industry.
- 14:58SPEAKER_05: What was what surprised you the most about creating the event?
- 15:03SPEAKER_05: I know you guys talked about buckets and this distribution of the workflow and you know, all that stuff, but what was the most surprising thing?
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: I thought the surprising thing is that we sold out our first event and what looks like we're gonna sell out our second event.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: And it looks like every person, just the I mean, you always think, okay, uh, 30 people have came to me and said they need this for the whole industry to participate.
- 15:27SPEAKER_02: We were like, okay, our hunch was right.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: You know, because sometimes you might second guess yourself.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: So that was the most like, oh my gosh, it really was a real thing, and people are really coming and these tickets are flying, and people absolutely loved the first event.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: And the feedback that we got was just incredible.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: So that was mine.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I that's I think that's a great, I think those are great points, Holly.
- 15:50SPEAKER_04: I think the other thing that surprised it continues to surprise me because like I said, I've been around for 17 years, and I like I was just looking at our speaker applications.
- 15:59SPEAKER_04: We've got we've got over 30 speaker applications for this next event.
- 16:04SPEAKER_04: And I looked at the list and I've, you know, I've been around, I've been around, right?
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, there's so many people that I that are I don't know.
- 16:12SPEAKER_04: And it's so fun to see.
- 16:14SPEAKER_04: Like I've been into I've been in IC ISSA events, I've been in other coaching groups, you know, I have my own coaching program.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, oh my gosh, who's this?
- 16:22SPEAKER_04: I can't wait to meet this person.
- 16:23SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 16:24SPEAKER_04: Like, and I thought I've got a pretty good sense of of the industry, and it's like so cool to see.
- 16:29SPEAKER_04: And it's so cool though to see all these other people that are doing amazing things, that are looking for a place to land, a community to be a part of, and also are wanting and willing to share their expertise and what's going really well in their businesses.
- 16:44SPEAKER_04: So I've been surprised about that, like in such a positive way.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Even more like I think it was mentioned multiple times during the first event, and now again in this plan, like this world is so much bigger than we realize.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Like there are so many more residential cleaning companies out there that I think anybody realizes.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: And I think we, Molly, you've gotten into like your subworlds in the past.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Holly, you've gotten your subworld that seem big in the rooms you're in, but like the grand scheme of it nationally and internationally.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: This is a so much bigger world than I think any of us realized.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's encouraging, right?
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: Because if we're, I mean, guys, this is an investment of ours, right?
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Into this industry to like start this.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: This is sweat equity, this is a monetarily like equ, you know, investment we're putting into this.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: And to get that response and see it is so much bigger than we thought it would was such an encouraging thing, right?
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: So we this is not just a group of something we hope 200 people will come to for the rest of its existence.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: Like this, this is a big thing because the industry is much bigger than we thought.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think I've been blown away hearing stories of the way that even from the first clean con, people are still connecting with people that they met.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: They're relying, they have group chats, they have Facebook groups of people that they like deeply needed to meet at the right time to help them take the next step.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: And that to me is just the most exciting and an encouraging thing is to see that like what our our hunch was right.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: The things that we thought were needed really are needed.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: And what continues to surprise me is people who I mean, at this point maybe it shouldn't, but I had somebody stop me at the dentist office the other day from a local cleaning company who said, I just got approval, we are going.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: And stop yeah, and like that's amaz they need they need and they are excited and and we need this.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: So I think that is we do need this.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: We do need and it doesn't matter where you're at in your business, brand new or running several million dollar cleaning business.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: There's room for everyone.
- 18:52SPEAKER_03: That's what I love about it, and that it don't feel so pretentious, like, or that you don't feel like like you get that imposter syndrome.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: I you know, there's places that I always wanted to go, but I you just get that kind of like imposter syndrome because the hype is like look at this person.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: No, Klingon is more about here, where you're right where you're at right now.
- 19:28SPEAKER_07: And it's a little more inviting.
- 19:35SPEAKER_04: I should say a lot more inviting.
- 19:37SPEAKER_04: I'd love to add to that, although Holly's also very passionate.
- 19:40SPEAKER_04: We're all very passionate about this particular subject, actually.
- 19:43SPEAKER_04: So Holly, I don't know if you want to come on out, but yeah.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: So I'm out of time now for a second.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: I think with the clean con, like okay, so I was in the closet for a long time.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Like I had a cleaning service and I didn't probably I didn't start, I didn't start coming out and networking with other cleaning companies until like 2018.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: And then in 2018, I was trying to find, you know, a home.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: Well, I didn't even realize, you know, like what size I was compared to everybody else.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: I just thought I was behind, you know, I didn't know what I was doing.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: So going out there and trying to find something, uh there was nothing there.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: And then as I did, those, it was like every group I went to is the same 20 people or the same hundred people or the same 50 people.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: And then as I'm doing research for TCS and I'm looking and I'm like, do y'all know how many cleaning companies there are in this nation?
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Where are they?
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Like, why don't we have a place to come to?
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Like every group, every event I go to is the same 200, 300 companies attending.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, how are we not reaching out to the rest?
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Like, how are you not getting me in 2016 to come to a cleaning conference?
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: Thanks to Drew and Aaron.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: If I would have seen all of the advertising that they're doing, I would have been like, you know what, I'm gonna go to this.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: And it would have been so much more helpful.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: So I was very passionate, like Molly was saying in the beginning, is that we need new people.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Like, there may be somebody over in Maine doing something completely creative that the entire industry could benefit from, and we would never know.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Um because there's not a place for them to go.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: Because the truth is none of us know exactly how to do it the correct way, and the best way is to learn from your peers.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: And so providing that environment is is the whole purpose.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: And then I'll say that too.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: She's she's very sorry, go ahead, Molly.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 21:39SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say just to add to that, like so one of our pillars, and to go back to imposter syndrome and all that, but one of our pillars is of clean con is connection.
- 21:49SPEAKER_04: And so the entire event is very thoughtfully programmed to have a lot of connection with a lot of different people.
- 21:57SPEAKER_04: And the the conversation, I I've been at a lot of different events, and you walk up and people are like, oh, so what size are you?
- 22:03SPEAKER_04: That's not it's that's not exactly it's we're not measuring, we're not like like, you know, I know size matters and all that good stuff, but like we're not measuring that at all the time in this event.
- 22:14SPEAKER_04: People are meeting just as humans and and and and connecting first and then sharing from there.
- 22:21SPEAKER_04: So it's it's really uh intentionally put together to to invite everyone into the room and make everyone feel welcome in the room, whether they are a startup or whether they're a$10 million company.
- 22:33SPEAKER_04: There really is a place.
- 22:34SPEAKER_04: I will say, from that perspective, it's challenging from a programming perspective to put together something that will meet everyone's needs, right?
- 22:43SPEAKER_04: But being providing a place for connection that is not clicky and that is inclusive of all ideas and all sizes is a really important cornerstone of who we are and why we're doing what we're doing.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: I think from the top down, too, that's just become really important.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, Holly is very humble at times, but like he is one of the largest residential cleaning companies in the country, right?
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: And I have heard her say so many times, I'll sit down with anybody and learn something from somebody.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: Like she has like z zero ego when it comes to education and growth and like personal development and company development.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Like, so I mean, that mindset is top down at CleanCon.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Like Holly will sit down with somebody who's just starting off.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: And I mean, I think it there's a benefit too of Holly's life where she's at with TCS too.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: She speaks to cleaning companies all day, every day.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: So I think that's probably helped her with that mindset.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Is like, I mean, I talk to somebody who's at 250 a year and I learned they're doing this.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh, that's brilliant, right?
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Like I've heard those stories come out of her, and she's one of the largest cleaning companies in the country.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: So I mean, that is a top-down mindset and attitude at CleanCon that I'm really proud of.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: I think that that one of the central tenants that we really have and go into and sort of prime everyone with is give more than you receive, right?
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: And so there really is for I mean, and everyone who in all of our business journeys, you know, 10 years ago, five years ago, how nice would it have been to have somebody come alongside you and say, hey, here, let me cast the vision for where you can go, what you can do.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: Have you thought of this?
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Have you tried this?
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: And so we really try to prime it so that we are all coming together to collaboratively help, collaboratively help each other to grow by giving as much, if not more, than we're receiving.
- 24:49SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: Because this is the way I think about it.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: $10 million company, you started off at$100,000,$250,$300.
- 25:00SPEAKER_03: We all started at that level at one point in our time in our business, right?
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 25:06SPEAKER_03: We all started at zero.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: We all yeah.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:11SPEAKER_03: We didn't, we didn't just wake up and say, oh, I have a$10 million cleaning company.
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 25:16SPEAKER_03: No, we all started just like this.
- 25:18SPEAKER_03: And I I yeah, I love that.
- 25:21SPEAKER_05: I love so my next question, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, were there any mistakes that you realized from the first clean con to the second clean con that you would openly want to discuss?
- 25:33SPEAKER_05: Sometimes, sometimes they can be a little ouchy, you know.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: I don't know about mistakes, lessons for sure.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:39SPEAKER_05: Lessons.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: And I I think something we did that was smart is like we had a debrief meeting as quickly as possible.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Like I think like that.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: We ended what on a Wednesday?
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: We we were all on a call Friday.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Like, all right, let's let's debrief.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: Like everybody travel home, everybody get home safe, and then let's meet Friday and like talk it through.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: And like there's definitely lessons from like little things to bigger things, you know, and like, but I think what helped out the most of that is we did an end of conference like survey to everybody that was there, like in the room.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: And we even like programmed time.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: This wasn't just like, hey, here's a link, do this when you have time.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Like, no, we took like 10-15 minutes of the stage, like, people filled it out in the moment because that was really important to us to get like that feedback, and the lessons we learned from that were really important, and like just the direct and very honest feedback we got from people in that survey, which I'll happily say like high majority of it was extremely positive, which yeah.
- 26:36SPEAKER_04: I'm like, yeah, totally.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: But there's little nuggets we got, right?
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Like little nuggets, some like very direct stuff about their preference of conferences and like what they're used to.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: But luckily, it was a lot of really great feedback.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: And I mean, we sold a lot of tickets to the Austin event at the end of the first clean con.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: So I mean that was a great feeling too.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: But there's been uh tons of little things, some bigger things, and I'm sure there'll be even more after the second event, too.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: And then the third and the fourth and the fifth.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: There's there'll always be stuff to learn.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: I think there, I mean, there's there's very much a permission to screw up, you know, piece of this too, that like I don't look at any of what we did at at first clean con as uh, you know, mistakes.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: It's data, right?
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Like it is data.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: It really is learning about well, what worked, what didn't work.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: There's and and that is it's a tenant of our business.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: And and I think it has become a tenant of clean con as honestly as the four of us have continued to get to know each other and how do we work together, which is it's it's no small feat to bring together four business owners and be like, by the way, now you all work together.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: But, you know, I don't think any of us have been precious about mistakes.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: We have all taken it as like, great, we'll figure out what didn't work.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Let's let's do something different the next time.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: And there's been no, you know, shame or anything involved in like, oh, we'll we'll take a different route next time.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: So I don't know, maybe you guys feel differently, but we don't have anything from that first event and say, like, I never do that again.
- 28:04SPEAKER_04: It just all data for we'll it is, and and and I would just say, like, and sometimes I might lack humility, I've heard before, but like I think we freaking killed it.
- 28:15SPEAKER_04: Like, and the execution of that event, like, and I'm gonna like give some massive kudos to Erin because she has she's has done it, she's highly organized.
- 28:25SPEAKER_04: The execution was one, and I'm not just saying this because it was I was one of the founders of this event, but it's one of the best events I've been at in in our industry, hands down.
- 28:37SPEAKER_04: Like, and from like from the from and that's the feedback that we got.
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: People were like, holy crap, this is your first event.
- 28:44SPEAKER_04: And so the mis the mistakes we had, like Aaron said, data.
- 28:48SPEAKER_04: Like, so some of so one one correction point we're making, for example, is we're gonna meet two weeks before the event this time in real in real life, because we're gonna, you know, we're gonna get together and we're gonna go through, we're gonna go through the whole pro run of show two weeks before instead of you know, really close to the night before.
- 29:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, right.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: The night before.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: Oh shit, Molly, Erin's talking.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: There was a couple of moments.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: I don't, I don't it it went off though without a hitch, I think.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: But I think it was funny to add that there were a couple of moments where like Drew had on my dress jacket, was rocking back and forth.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: He looked like he was and then Molly at one point looked at me and told me, Holly, close your mouth.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I said, no, I said, stop talking.
- 29:37SPEAKER_04: Stop talking.
- 29:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was it about it.
- 29:39SPEAKER_04: Stop talking to Aaron, stop talking to Aaron.
- 29:42SPEAKER_04: I did.
- 29:43SPEAKER_04: So and this is us boring, this is us tired, going full force for days on end.
- 29:50SPEAKER_04: Drew was like sick, like on medicine, like all doped up, right?
- 29:54SPEAKER_04: Like that's probably why he was like rocking by.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: You were, yeah, you were, yeah.
- 29:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:01SPEAKER_04: So this is you know, putting out a minute is it truly is no small feat.
- 30:06SPEAKER_04: Like we all blacked out.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: No.
- 30:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: We all, yeah, you're checked out.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Well, this is the stories you'll see in our future Netflix documentaries.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: That's right.
- 30:15SPEAKER_03: And in the book.
- 30:15SPEAKER_03: And in the book, it's not coming in the book.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:20SPEAKER_03: So basically, it's just uh, I just you're making a whole system.
- 30:24SPEAKER_03: It's it's the same thing.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: It's like the same thing that you built your cleaning company on.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: It's you're learning from your mistakes and like, oh, let's let's mark that down.
- 30:37SPEAKER_03: Let's do this this way.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: And it really it has been so much fun to watch and learn about this team's strengths and all the places.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Like I am fascinated by the four of us and then our extended team as well.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: On we we think differently and we are able to collaborate in this way that I think has has produced something really rich and really meaningful.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: But it is because we are all attacking this problem from a slightly different angle, which is so fun to see the way that team evolves and the way that team bounces ideas off each other.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: It's kind of kind of amplifies the strengths of each of us.
- 31:15SPEAKER_05: I love it.
- 31:16SPEAKER_07: Agreed.
- 31:17SPEAKER_07: Absolutely love it.
- 31:20SPEAKER_07: So go ahead.
- 31:23SPEAKER_07: No ahead.
- 31:26SPEAKER_03: I was just saying, what's the long-term goal here?
- 31:30SPEAKER_03: Where where where where are we going?
- 31:32SPEAKER_03: I think you just dropped a little clue though, Drew.
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: Unintentionally.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: We're now trying to find out your secrets.
- 31:44SPEAKER_03: For the future of CleanCon.
- 31:47SPEAKER_03: For this next and the next and the next.
- 31:50SPEAKER_03: I did hear that.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, I mean, the goal is not to just do two, right?
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think the goal is to keep doing these as often as we can, keep learning from the last one that we did.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: Wait a second, guys.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: I signed up for two.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: We're doing more than we're doing.
- 32:10SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: I think how can you stop with this much excitement going through the cleaning community, the cleaning industry?
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: I I don't it's it's so funny.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, maybe Holly and Molly hear this more than I do, but like I thank you for saying that because it is kind of like on our end of it.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: I never know if it's being talked about as much as it is like in the industry or in like little circles.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: So that's that's really encouraging to hear that it is a topic.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think we were talking about before we push for cord, like like hounding some like people on TikTok live talking about cleaning lately and like hearing them that they know about clean con, which is a really cool like reaction to hear from people.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: But from our side, it it's really encouraging to hear you say that you are hearing it and there are conversations about it.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: So I appreciate it.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: But like, I mean, I don't know, long-term vision, we've got some things I don't want to say like up our sleeve or like hard plans, but we've got ideas, right?
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: We want to like the biggest thing we want to do is like how can we keep these things, these events going in the healthiest, most like inviting community way to where and I wanted to say too, you guys were talking about lessons and things we learned.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: I think I don't know if it went off without a hitch, but it was pretty darn close.
- 33:24SPEAKER_00: But I think that happened because there was so much planning ahead of time, and that's another benefit of having three partners in this, right?
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Like three different entities coming together because we took what we've loved from other events that all three of us have been to.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: We took away what we've learned that we didn't like at other events that we've been to, and we did our best to like mash those together, right?
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: And like so it was a lot of like market and peer research went into from our personal experiences.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: We we had no interest of just like mimicking exactly another event.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: We wanted this to be unique, we wanted this to be special, we wanted it to feel warm and comfy when you come to it, because feedback we've learned is like that's not always a thing in a very niche industry event like this.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: So I think a lot of like pre-planning helped go into that.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: But I mean, future, I mean, there are I'd love to give you some juicy answer, but there's really not.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: We just want to keep doing what we're doing, keep getting better.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: Go with the flow.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: Go with the flow, keep listening to the community, keep putting the community first, not ourselves.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: And I think good things will come from that.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: But we've got some ideas that are still being like fleshed out and worked on.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: Well, and we were very intentional about coming, and this is something that Drew and I are really passionate about is coming together for like, what's the why of this business?
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: Why do we actually exist?
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: And and as we all really spend some time to think through that, I mean, it it is all about you know, helping to influence and cast vision for this industry.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: And so I think the the what of what we're doing, whether that's you know, uh continued conferences or or other like possibilities in the future, I think there could be lots of things.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: But I think at the heart of it, it's it's how do we impact, right?
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: How do we how do we help continue to connect and educate and and really you know help shape and cast cast vision for what this industry could be.
- 35:13SPEAKER_05: I love that.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: There's so many.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: I feel like I need to go to cleaning church.
- 35:21SPEAKER_05: We we could all go, you know, put our hand on the Bible.
- 35:24SPEAKER_05: We clean those too.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Churches need cleaning.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:29SPEAKER_05: I I think that we're in the middle of I don't want to use this word as a big heavy thing, but like a cleaning evolution.
- 35:37SPEAKER_05: I I think there's a lot more acceptance to our industry.
- 35:41SPEAKER_05: You'll often hear me talk about how we're the 23rd trade.
- 35:46SPEAKER_05: So it's becoming more common, which is nice.
- 35:49SPEAKER_05: And my the thing that gets Jamie and myself, I'm speaking mostly for myself, excited about participating in this industry is you can see people who never had an opportunity for wealth create wealth and legacy and something that they can either gift or sell at a later date, or go springboard into other things and create assets that buy back time.
- 36:12SPEAKER_05: I mean, there's this whole evolution happening.
- 36:14SPEAKER_05: I can see it, I'm sure you guys see it as well.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: Definitely.
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: I think we're in a really interesting and very, very expansive place in our industry, without a doubt.
- 36:24SPEAKER_04: Like, and you are right, you know, that it our industry is now getting a lot more attention than it used to.
- 36:30SPEAKER_04: Cleaning is being seen more as a necessity rather than just a luxury service for, you know, for for working families.
- 36:38SPEAKER_04: And um, and additionally, you know, there's a lot of movement and a lot of talk.
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you all are familiar, like, for example, with Cody Sanchez.
- 36:46SPEAKER_04: She's Main Street millionaire, she's all about like the boring businesses.
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: So not tech businesses, but cleaning companies and laundromats and you know, and all and all those sorts of things because they provide a and plumber plumbing companies and HVAC, all that stuff.
- 37:03SPEAKER_04: Like these are very necessary services that are not quickly gonna be replaced by technology or AI, and people can make a really good solid living and they don't they can build it literally from the trunk of their car if they want, right?
- 37:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so there's a lot of opportunity and a lot of attention.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: I completely agree with you there, Shannon.
- 37:23SPEAKER_05: Awesome, awesome.
- 37:24SPEAKER_05: Trust me, you do not want to be in the tech world.
- 37:28SPEAKER_05: I heard it's really competitive and there's a lot of things that go on.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: No comment from Holly on that one?
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 37:38SPEAKER_05: I'm multitasking.
- 37:42SPEAKER_05: Like, well, enough about that question?
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: Okay, so no response is a response.
- 37:48SPEAKER_05: No, that's true.
- 37:49SPEAKER_05: That's true, that's true.
- 37:54SPEAKER_05: My goodness gracious, I'm just going over some of these preliminary questions.
- 37:58SPEAKER_05: Um looking back at some of your own businesses, what are some of the biggest lessons you have learned that you could share with our audience?
- 38:11SPEAKER_07: That's a whole second podcast.
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: Well, I didn't want to use the word mistake.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: You do not you do not have to have it all figured out.
- 38:19SPEAKER_02: If you have a vision and a mission and the will to do it, don't get hung up.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: Don't get hung up in every detail.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: We didn't, and we pulled it off and it was great.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: So I think a lot of us are hesitant to make business decisions, explicit, especially cleaning service owners, where micromanagers miss like details, every little detail.
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: Get a vision, make a mission, find people, find your team and jump and go and do it, and work out all the details later.
- 38:50SPEAKER_02: And I think a lot of us in our cleaning businesses are at those like really pivotable moments in our businesses, and we're all just like a little scared, don't be scared.
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: Jump and do it.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: Do something if you have the vision for it, go do it.
- 39:03SPEAKER_02: And that's what that's what it's taught me for sure.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: I mean and and we did it, and I got in the three little best friends, four little best friends that anyone could have.
- 39:11SPEAKER_07: We're the four dad anyone can have.
- 39:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: I guess, yeah, I guess uh one way I would answer that question is that the more that you that we can that you can a person, uh a business owner can figure out how to develop and lead themselves, the better they'll be doing in their business.
- 39:34SPEAKER_04: And this is you know, I've been a part of uh, you know cult like, you know, workaholic hustle, hustle, hustle culture.
- 39:44SPEAKER_04: And I just want to say there's nothing wrong with working hard.
- 39:46SPEAKER_04: I love working hard.
- 39:48SPEAKER_04: And there are seasons when I work way harder than other seasons for sure.
- 39:53SPEAKER_04: But I think that there's been a real emphasis at times on that specifically in our industry, and it's to the detriment of the business owners, and then they burn out and they flame out, and then they have all this all kinds of things that end up happening from a financial place, a health place, a mindset place.
- 40:08SPEAKER_04: And so I I wish that early, early, early on in my career I knew that that I knew that if I that if I focused on myself, if I focus on developing my leadership skills and um and being really comfortable in my own skin in certain ways around leading a team, it would have brought it would have gotten me farther faster.
- 40:29SPEAKER_04: Now, whatever.
- 40:30SPEAKER_04: I have no regrets.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: We all evolve as we evolve, right?
- 40:33SPEAKER_04: But I think that's a really that's a really good solid lesson that uh I wish other more people knew and could like grab on to.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: Well said.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: To answer that question, like the hardest lesson I've had to learn, because I am like man, 9.9 on the visionary scale, like that's just my brain.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: Brick by brick is the hardest lesson I've had to learn.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: And if you've ever seen like a brick building get built, folks, those don't get built fast.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: And like as sometimes like a visionary brain, that's hard to accept.
- 41:10SPEAKER_00: That like building something that's built right, building something that's built in a strong way does not happen overnight.
- 41:17SPEAKER_00: It doesn't happen over two nights, and it requires patience.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: And sometimes like patience and the understanding that patience is true and it's needed, does not combat well with a visionary brain.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, like having Aaron like beside me doing this with me, like has been just been a huge help because man, I would move fast and not just break things, but break all the things.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: And you know, rather than like really doing it the way I should and the way it needs to get done.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: And I think we're surrounded by stories on the internet that are just, I'll be honest, like just lies, just straight lies of what a building a business is like, and you get to a certain level and you can buy an island and a Lamborghini and post with it, like it's it's baloney.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know about this podcast and uh welcoming a certain word, so I'll say baloney.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: Like it's uh it's it's not true, and every good business is brick by brick, and it is day by day, it is decision by decision, it is lesson by lesson, and you have to the quicker you realize that, honestly, the faster you'll probably grow.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: Um, I think the and like the more healthy you'll grow.
- 42:24SPEAKER_00: It's brick by brick every day.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: Good answers, guys.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've got, I mean, we have a mantra that sort of sums a lot of that up here, and we just say consistently, and our team says it all the time, we say it all the time, we say everything is figure outable.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: And so like there really is, I think, and and the sooner that I think we learned that and really embraced that, that like there's a solution, we will figure this solution out together.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: But I think for me, like the and I've already referenced it once, but the the biggest lesson that I have learned in business is is start with why.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: And, you know, everybody on this call, or at least everyone on the clean con team, knows that I am an enormous, enormous proponent of Simon Sinek's work that that is really foundational around getting to the heart of why are you here?
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: Why is your business here?
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: Why are you personally here?
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: What are you here to contribute to the world?
- 43:13unknown: Right.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: And can you articulate that?
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: Can your staff articulate that?
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: Uh can your teams do your clients feel that as well?
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: And so I think uh that was so pivotal for us when we with the companies that we own and even with ClinkCon as well, have really started to get very, very serious about living out our why and uh and then and then the hows that sort of support those things.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: What are our values and how do we lift up that why?
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: I think that to me uh was the single most foundational pivot for our businesses.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: So again, I will I will talk about that all day, every day.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll cut myself off.
- 43:59SPEAKER_07: Amy, this is recording.
- 44:00SPEAKER_07: It's being recorded.
- 44:01SPEAKER_07: I know I guess it's being recorded.
- 44:14SPEAKER_02: These three or us, these three teams fit together so well because I was like, oh no, this is gonna take some serious motivation, leadership, and vision.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, I couldn't have picked picked better people to do it with.
- 44:27SPEAKER_02: So we're all that same.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: And so thank God for Aaron.
- 44:32SPEAKER_02: Otherwise, we'd be running around just preaching.
- 44:37SPEAKER_05: Go, Aaron, go.
- 44:39SPEAKER_05: Without you guys, I would be standing still like a masonry.
- 44:50SPEAKER_07: Jamie, you have any more questions?
- 45:49SPEAKER_07: Love it.
- 45:53SPEAKER_07: Communicate that vision.
- 45:54SPEAKER_02: Communicate that vision, girl.
- 45:56SPEAKER_02: You gotta communicate that vision to your team so they know where to go.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: She has a goal.
- 46:00SPEAKER_02: She's marching to a million this year.
- 46:02SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 46:08SPEAKER_07: She's going off script.
- 46:10SPEAKER_07: I love it.
- 46:11SPEAKER_07: No, it's I love that.
- 46:13SPEAKER_07: There's a that oh, there it is.
- 46:18SPEAKER_07: I love it.
- 46:19SPEAKER_07: Let's go.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: You mentioned everybody that drives by like doesn't know what the house is gonna look like.
- 46:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, what's that Steve Jobs quote?
- 46:28SPEAKER_00: Like, here's to the crazy ones.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: Like, I think that's a lesson I've learned.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: Like, the crazier someone looks the first time you meet him and you hear them talk, like, probably the more they're gonna do in life, right?
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: Like, here's to the crazy ones, here's the ones that are doing the things that don't make sense to the other the other people.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: And those are the people that change the world.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: So keep on.
- 46:46SPEAKER_02: Keep on, keep on.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: And I know if if your viewers have not, it's mycleancon.com.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: There are still tickets out there, they are$6.99.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: You can use any of our company codes to get 10% off the cleaning software all caps or five door or live bright.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: Any of us, get that 10% off.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: You cannot not afford to be there.
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: It is not a cost, it is an investment.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: You are gonna learn that and triple of quadruple your money just by being in the room and the connection and network with what you're gonna get.
- 47:16SPEAKER_02: And Austin's gonna be so fun.
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: We are dancing, we are back cruising, we are socializing, we we are gonna have all of our pillars involved in Austin.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: And Austin's just a really cool place to be.
- 47:28SPEAKER_02: So the dates?
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, it's September 27th or is it the eighth?
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: 28th?
- 47:34SPEAKER_02: 26th, 26th to the 28th.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 47:41SPEAKER_05: So we're gonna what what what does the Aaron take over at this point?
- 47:45SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 47:46SPEAKER_05: So what what was the date?
- 47:47SPEAKER_05: One more time from the audience so they can get clear.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: Helly's gotta buy Holly's plenty of tickets.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Or lucky you don't have to.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: It is the 28th through the 30th.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: I did not just look up the website, I just know that.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: It is the 38th through the 30th.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: However, there is a VIP, and there are a few more tickets left.
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: So I will say this.
- 48:08SPEAKER_01: There's a VIP cruise on the 27th.
- 48:10SPEAKER_04: So in the evening, yeah.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: Yes, there are very, very few tickets available for that.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: So snag those up while you can because it's gonna be awesome.
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: Uh we're cruising.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Actually, how you talk about it because I've never been to Austin and you know there's bats.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: There's bats.
- 48:24SPEAKER_02: So under the Congress Bridge of Austin, and one of its big attractions is there's millions of bats that live under this bridge on the Ladybird Lake, which is a basically a really giant river.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: And they all and they come out in the afternoon right at sunset.
- 48:38SPEAKER_02: So you like you just watch these millions of bats fly out.
- 48:43SPEAKER_02: It's not dangerous, so don't get scared.
- 48:45SPEAKER_02: I've never heard of never heard of anybody getting injured, but just to watch them come out is breathtaking.
- 48:51SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna we have this big barge that we rented that holds only a hundred people.
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: That's why there's limited tickets, and so we'll have cocktails and appetizers or not alcoholic drinks, and then we're gonna cruise the lake with the beautiful Austin skyline in the background.
- 49:07SPEAKER_02: It's right through the middle of downtown, and then we'll get to watch the bats come out, and then obviously all get to network together as an industry on the boat watching the bats.
- 49:16SPEAKER_04: And then the the rest of the event, yeah, it kicks off on it starts uh late afternoon on Monday the 28th, and it finishes late afternoon, early evening on Wednesday the 30th.
- 49:30SPEAKER_04: So it's uh it's like two and a half days of programming.
- 49:34SPEAKER_04: So for people who wouldn't be coming in for the Sunday night event, I would still recommend coming in on Sunday or Monday morning at the latest because the event really starts on Monday at probably five o'clock.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: But you know, registration thing starts at four, and then the the welcome party is like at six, right?
- 49:51SPEAKER_04: And the welcome party is a key part of the event.
- 49:54SPEAKER_04: Sorry, Aaron.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: What do you say, Aaron?
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: I was just saying you are not gonna want to miss that welcome party.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: It it's gonna be fantastic.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: Absolutely fantastic.
- 50:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and it's not just like it's not just a party, it's a very it's a programmed party, right?
- 50:06SPEAKER_04: It's very intentional.
- 50:07SPEAKER_04: We do all the parts that we do are very intentional, so you're not just gonna go stand in a room with 200 other people, like you're gonna be meeting and connecting with those people.
- 50:15SPEAKER_04: So I love it.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: It's the learning how to dance line, yeah, line dancing that nine there may be and there may be a couple of couple of western dance lessons.
- 50:27SPEAKER_02: So bring your boots, dress up as westerner as you want, or just wear whatever you want.
- 50:31SPEAKER_02: Doesn't matter.
- 50:32SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be a ball though.
- 50:34unknown: Yeah.
- 50:35SPEAKER_05: I love it.
- 50:36SPEAKER_05: Well, thanks so much for coming on, you guys.
- 50:38SPEAKER_05: We usually traditionally ask if you guys have any questions for us.
- 50:44SPEAKER_05: I can't answer any relationship questions, but I'm happy to answer.
- 50:47SPEAKER_04: I've got I've got one for you, Shannon.
- 50:49SPEAKER_04: I've got one.
- 50:51SPEAKER_04: Looping back to what you said about us writing a book on how to do event planning.
- 50:56SPEAKER_04: Is there event are there events in your future that you want to put on?
- 51:00SPEAKER_05: I've considered it.
- 51:01SPEAKER_05: I've had a lot of, as you know, with like everybody, we have a lot of projects going on.
- 51:06SPEAKER_05: So I'm getting ready to do a really big launch here in September.
- 51:11SPEAKER_05: So I'm working on that.
- 51:12SPEAKER_05: And as soon as that's finalized and stabilized, so to speak, I am looking at 2027 to figure out if I'm going to be doing something or not.
- 51:19SPEAKER_05: I finally hopefully will be able to travel.
- 51:22SPEAKER_05: I've had a passport issue for the last year and a half that I've been trying to resolve.
- 51:28SPEAKER_05: It's been a big pain in my butt.
- 51:30SPEAKER_05: But yeah, I'm I'm hoping to be able to do something.
- 51:33SPEAKER_05: Nice.
- 51:34SPEAKER_05: Interesting.
- 51:35SPEAKER_05: Cool.
- 51:36SPEAKER_05: Excited to hear about it.
- 51:38SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: I would love to know from both of you.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: What do you I mean, this is uh I always use these as market research, right?
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: So totally.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: I'm always interested.
- 51:49SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: For you two, what do you think the the biggest gap?
- 51:53SPEAKER_01: What is the biggest piece of whether it's education, whether it's opportunity that is missing for this industry?
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: Where are the gaps that you see?
- 52:02SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh.
- 52:03SPEAKER_05: Um, there's a lot of gaps still.
- 52:05SPEAKER_05: As you guys know, most of the industry is DIY.
- 52:08SPEAKER_05: Uh that's probably the biggest hurdle is getting someone to not DIY and understand that they are investing in themselves.
- 52:16SPEAKER_05: I I do know people who have DIY'd it.
- 52:18SPEAKER_05: Um back in the day, I mean, Molly, you've been in it just as long as I have.
- 52:21SPEAKER_05: Holly, you have too.
- 52:23SPEAKER_05: There weren't Facebook groups or any of these things that we have going on, podcasts, nothing.
- 52:27SPEAKER_05: You had to kind of invent your own wheel as you went, you lopped around down the road, right?
- 52:33SPEAKER_05: So getting them to understand that basically there is more opportunity for you to educate yourself and to better yourself.
- 52:40SPEAKER_05: And if you really want to get there a little bit faster than having to DIY, because DIY comes with lots of mistakes.
- 52:47SPEAKER_05: We've all heard Shannon talk about many hundreds, thousands of mistakes I have made in my businesses.
- 52:54SPEAKER_05: Um it it comes faster if you can have a mentor or someone who can kind of guide you along the way.
- 53:00SPEAKER_07: Definitely.
- 55:21SPEAKER_07: That's right, Jamie.
- 55:23SPEAKER_04: I I know that I mean, I think that being authentic and and being open about who you are and at what point you are in your business is going to garner a lot more trust than pretending to be something that you're not.
- 55:35SPEAKER_04: So that's awesome that that's what you're doing.
- 55:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:38SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 55:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: Woo!
- 55:42SPEAKER_05: All right.
- 55:46SPEAKER_05: Thanks so much for coming on.
- 55:48SPEAKER_05: We really appreciate you taking the time.
- 55:50SPEAKER_05: Definitely.
- 55:52SPEAKER_07: Thanks for having us.
- 56:00SPEAKER_02: The only other question I have for Jamie is on your march to a million, you cannot afford to not be in that room.
- 56:05SPEAKER_02: I know you give me an excuse if you had a kiddo or something, but I have two of them.
- 56:09SPEAKER_02: So I am looking forward to the solution that you're gonna come up with when I see you walk through the doors at Clink on.
- 56:16SPEAKER_05: No pressure, no pressure, no pressure at all.
- 56:20SPEAKER_00: No going back now.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: There's hey, there's child care that you can hire at hotels and that kind of thing if you gotta bring your kids, right?
- 56:28SPEAKER_04: There's a solution.
- 56:29SPEAKER_04: And I mean, I do it for my dogs.
- 56:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, I don't know, but isn't it the same thing?
- 56:34SPEAKER_04: Like thanks everybody.
- 56:38SPEAKER_04: You guys take care.
- 56:40SPEAKER_07: Thanks for having us.
- 56:42SPEAKER_05: Bye.
