- 0:01The master of existence lurks in US, and plays at hide and seek
- 0:06with his own force in nature's instrument.
- 0:10Loiters, secret God, the Imminent lives in man, as in his
- 0:15house, He has made the universe his pastimes field, a vast
- 0:21gymnasium of his works of might. All knowing he accepts our
- 0:27darkened state, Divine where shapes of animal or man eternal,
- 0:34He assents to fate and time. Immortal dallies with mortality.
- 0:41The all conscious ventured into ignorance, the all blissful bore
- 0:46to be insensible Incarnate in a world of strife and pain.
- 0:52He puts on joy and sorrow like a robe, and drinks experience like
- 0:57a strengthening wine. He whose transcendence rules the
- 1:01pregnant vasts prescient, now dwells in our subliminal depths.
- 1:08A luminous individual power alone, the absolute, the
- 1:15perfect, the alone, has called out of the silence his mute
- 1:20force. Where she lay in the featureless
- 1:24and formless hush, guarding from time by her immobile sleep the
- 1:29ineffable poescence of his solitude, the Absolute, the
- 1:35perfect, the alone, has entered with his silence into space.
- 1:41He has fashioned these countless persons of oneself.
- 1:45He has built a million figures of his power.
- 1:48He lives in all who lived in his vast alone.
- 1:53Space is Himself, and time is only He, the Absolute, the
- 2:01perfect, the immune. One who is in us as our secret
- 2:06self, our mask of imperfection, has assumed.
- 2:10He has made this tenement of flesh his own, His image in the
- 2:15human measure. Cast that to His divine measure.
- 2:18We might rise then in a figure of divinity.
- 2:23The Maker shall recast us and impose a plan of Godhead on the
- 2:27mortal's mold, lifting our finite minds to His infinite,
- 2:32touching the moment with eternity.
- 2:36This transfiguration is earth due to heaven.
- 2:40A mutual debt binds man to the Supreme His nature we must put
- 2:45on as He put ours. We are sons of God, and must be
- 2:51even as He his human portion we must grow divine.
- 2:57Our life is a paradox, with God for key, but meanwhile all is a
- 3:04shadow cast by a dream. And to the musing and immobile
- 3:08spirit life and himself donned the aspect of a myth, the burden
- 3:15of a long unmeaning tale. For the key is hid, and by the
- 3:20inconscient kept. The secret God beneath the
- 3:24threshold dwells in a body obscuring the immortal spirit, a
- 3:30nameless resident vesting unseen powers with matter shapes and
- 3:34motives beyond thought, and the hazard of an unguessed
- 3:38consequence. An omnipotent, indiscernible
- 3:42influence, he sits unfelt by the form in which he lives and veils
- 3:48his knowledge by the groping mind.
- 3:52A wanderer in a world his thoughts have made, he turns in
- 3:56a cheer, a scurrow of error and truth, to find a wisdom that on
- 4:01high is his as one. Forgetting, he searches for
- 4:05himself as if he had lost an inner light.
- 4:09He seeks as a sojourner, lingering amid alien scenes.
- 4:14He journeys to a home. He knows no more, his own self's
- 4:19truth. He seeks who is the truth.
- 4:22He is the player who became the play.
- 4:25He is the thinker who became the thought.
- 4:28He is the many who was the silent one.
- 4:32In the symbol figures of the Cosmic Force, and in her living
- 4:37and inanimate signs, and in her complex tracery of events, he
- 4:44explores the ceaseless miracle of himself till the thousandfold
- 4:49enigma has been solved in the single light of an all
- 4:54witnessing soul. This was his compact with his
- 4:59mighty mate for love of her, and joined to her forever to follow
- 5:05the course of time's eternity. Amid magic dramas of her sudden
- 5:09moods and the surprises of her masked idea and the vicissitudes
- 5:15of her vast Caprice, 2 seem his goals.
- 5:19Yet ever are they one and gaze at each other over born less.
- 5:23Time, spirit and matter are their end and source.
- 5:29A seeker of hidden meanings in life's forms, of the Great
- 5:33Mother's wide uncharted will and the rude enigma of her
- 5:37terrestrial ways, he is the explorer and the mariner on a
- 5:43secret inner ocean without born. He is the adventurer and
- 5:48cosmologist of a magic earth's obscure geography in her
- 5:53material orders fixed design. We're all seem sure, and even
- 5:58when changed the same, even though the end is left forever
- 6:04unknown and ever unstable is life's shifting flow.
- 6:09His paths are found for him by silent fate as stations in the
- 6:14ages. Weltering flood, firm lands
- 6:17appear that tempt and stay awhile.
- 6:21Then New Horizons lure the mind's advance.
- 6:25There comes no close to the finite's boundlessness.
- 6:29There is no last certitude in which thought can pause and no
- 6:33terminus to the soul's experience.
- 6:37A limit of farness never wholly reached and unattained.
- 6:42Perfection calls to him from distant boundaries.
- 6:46In the unseen, a long beginning only has been made.
