- 0:00Speaker 1: This is The EDS with Eddie Judge and Edwin Aroyave
- 0:05Speaker 1: the husband's know best at two Cheese Production. All right, guys,
- 0:09Speaker 1: welcome to another podcast of The EDS here with my
- 0:14Speaker 1: co host Edwin, and we are going to interview John Fuda.
- 0:21Speaker 1: John Fuda is married to the Real Housewives of New
- 0:23Speaker 1: Jersey cast member Rachel Fuda. John is a husband, father,
- 0:28Speaker 1: and business owner in New Jersey. And today we get
- 0:31Speaker 1: to know more about John off Reality TV. Really excited
- 0:35Speaker 1: about that. They do have three kids, Jayden, Gianella and Juliana.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Did I say those right?
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yes? You did?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Okay, And here's a surprise. They're expecting a fourth. We're
- 0:48Speaker 1: super excited for you, man, that's so cool. John and
- 0:52Speaker 1: Rachel joined the Housewives in twenty twenty three, so we're
- 0:55Speaker 1: excited to get the perspective from a newer house husband.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Well it's still fresh, you know. Welcome John Fuda.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Hey, you know what, thank you guys for having me.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Happy to be a part of the Edge show. Let's
- 1:09Speaker 2: do it.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah, congratulations John on the fourth kid, and welcome to
- 1:14Speaker 3: the club. I got four. Four is a good number.
- 1:18Speaker 2: By the way, what changes anything.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Well, you know, the thing that changes the most I
- 1:24Speaker 3: think for the fourth one, you're not as like you
- 1:27Speaker 3: tend to leave the fourth one behind a little longer
- 1:30Speaker 3: than you did your first one, right and your second
- 1:32Speaker 3: one and your third one, because you're like, all right,
- 1:34Speaker 3: this one's going to be on. We called mine. She
- 1:37Speaker 3: got red shirted for like the first year because you know,
- 1:42Speaker 3: she's just we couldn't take her anywhere whereas our first one.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I mean we were taking her to dinner at nine pm.
- 1:49Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:49Speaker 3: The fourth one, it's like, oh, you're staying behind. You're
- 1:51Speaker 3: staying behind. And I don't think we started taking her
- 1:54Speaker 3: out there. She was like eighteen months, so she was
- 1:56Speaker 3: a true, true COVID baby.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Wow, so different because I have you know, with having
- 2:01Speaker 2: my son, Jaden's going to be eighteen, right, I have
- 2:04Speaker 2: an eighteen year old, a four year old, a two
- 2:06Speaker 2: and a half ye old, and about to have a newborn.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It's just different. Like I was looking at colleges yesterday
- 2:11Speaker 2: with them. We took them to look at some colleges
- 2:14Speaker 2: and it's just like, wow, it's a reality check for sure.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I have two different age groups going on here.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you definitely hit the reset button. And so John
- 2:22Speaker 3: tell us about so before Housewives. What was your childhood like.
- 2:28Speaker 2: My childhood?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, so you grew up in Jersey, right, how was that, John?
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, so I grew up in Jersey. Family business Italians.
- 2:39Speaker 2: We're in the tile industry. I started I was laying tile,
- 2:42Speaker 2: my family selling tile.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Uh.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Then I got into the parking industry and to my
- 2:47Speaker 2: business and then just kind of grinded. Man, wanted to
- 2:49Speaker 2: build a family. I found the perfect you know, found
- 2:52Speaker 2: the perfect girl for me, started building the family, and
- 2:55Speaker 2: also she accepted my son, which is not that easy, right,
- 2:58Speaker 2: but she took him on her own. That was a
- 3:00Speaker 2: big thing. And you know, from there we had our
- 3:03Speaker 2: kids and started building our lifestyle. Man. Then all of
- 3:06Speaker 2: a sudden, the Jersey Housewives came in my life.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so tell us about your siblings. Do you have
- 3:12Speaker 1: any siblings?
- 3:13Speaker 2: I do. I have one brother, one brother.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Okay, what was it like growing up with a brother
- 3:18Speaker 1: in Jersey?
- 3:19Speaker 2: I have one step brother and maybe a couple of
- 3:21Speaker 2: those that I don't know about yet.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But so you had a big family growing up typical Italian?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, typical time. One immediate brother. I do have
- 3:33Speaker 2: a step brother. And then, like I said, but we're
- 3:35Speaker 2: not that close to him.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So, oh, okay, okay.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So you grew up John, So you grew up selling
- 3:41Speaker 3: tile Teresa says you were selling some other stuff. She
- 3:46Speaker 3: was claiming you were the biggest drug dealer at one
- 3:48Speaker 3: point in Brigan County or something like that.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Listen, this comment is so crazy, right because when you
- 3:54Speaker 2: take like a larger drug dealer, right, you look up
- 3:57Speaker 2: articles and you see teasers of truckloads, allots of cocaine
- 4:01Speaker 2: and marijuana. I'm like, how could you even say that? Right,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I got arrested. I think I had eleven or twelve
- 4:06Speaker 2: grams on me at the time of marijuana, which is
- 4:08Speaker 2: now we go, by the way, And one of the
- 4:10Speaker 2: coolest things that came out of that comment is how
- 4:14Speaker 2: many people offer me a partnership and marijuana license. Now, So,
- 4:18Speaker 2: I had no idea when I was a juvenile I
- 4:20Speaker 2: got in trouble. But I have first right to marijuana
- 4:23Speaker 2: licenses in the state of New Jersey because I got
- 4:25Speaker 2: in trouble when I was younger. I have first right
- 4:28Speaker 2: to any licenses here in New Jersey.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Wow, So did you take up any of those potential partnerships.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I didn't because I was afraid to after that comment
- 4:37Speaker 2: and who knows what would it came next, you know, So.
- 4:40Speaker 1: That's a valid comment, that's a totally valid When we
- 4:43Speaker 1: got into the cannabis business, we had an opportunity to
- 4:46Speaker 1: get into the marijuana side, the medical marijuana side, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: it was right before the Farm Bill was passing twenty
- 4:53Speaker 1: eighteen for CBD and talking to some of the potential
- 4:57Speaker 1: partners that we were talking about, you know, getting into
- 4:59Speaker 1: business with, you know, they mentioned, you know, there's a
- 5:02Speaker 1: little side effect here that you might need to watch out.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You know, we are going into competition with the cartels,
- 5:07Speaker 1: so it's a little dangerous. You know. It's not like
- 5:10Speaker 1: you're not just dealing with the Feds. You're dealing with
- 5:12Speaker 1: the cartels. And if you ever you know, if you
- 5:15Speaker 1: ever watch those movies, they don't take it lightly. So wait,
- 5:19Speaker 1: we chickened out.
- 5:20Speaker 2: That comment made it seem like I was the cartel, Right,
- 5:23Speaker 2: it's like you're the largest I'm like, whoa relaxed there,
- 5:25Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like, that's that's ridiculous.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah, And you know what we're gonna We're gonna get
- 5:31Speaker 1: into how that all transpires. Because in my experience, you know,
- 5:36Speaker 1: I've been on the show for many years. The women
- 5:40Speaker 1: will do anything to hurt the other women on the show,
- 5:44Speaker 1: and if they can't get to those women, they will
- 5:46Speaker 1: attack their family, including the kids and husband, right. And
- 5:50Speaker 1: I think that's just low blow, trashy way of conducting themselves, honestly.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I mean, the husband's okay, you know, they're fair game
- 6:00Speaker 1: because they are on TV, but kids should be off
- 6:03Speaker 1: limits completely. So I've been accused of many things, but
- 6:06Speaker 1: the reality is, John, that's all they can come up with.
- 6:10Speaker 1: You know, it's that bad, right, you know. I mean,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we're not stealing money from people. We're not going to
- 6:17Speaker 1: jail for a year. You know, we're not you know,
- 6:20Speaker 1: we're not the real criminals here. So it just blows
- 6:23Speaker 1: my mind how these people deflect and come up with
- 6:26Speaker 1: bullshit about their husbands when they can, you know, attack
- 6:30Speaker 1: the wife anymore. And I assume that's kind of what
- 6:32Speaker 1: happened with you.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Right they I think with me, you know, I got
- 6:37Speaker 2: a scarlet letter, I call it. I think there was
- 6:39Speaker 2: a purpose intention to scar me. And I think that
- 6:44Speaker 2: you have this platform where people follow and listen to you,
- 6:47Speaker 2: and you use it to your advantage to hurt somebody. Well,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I mean you've been on the show for how long now.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Gosh, I think something like twelve years.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Maybe you've got some time served.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, served my time, man. And I'm at the
- 7:01Speaker 1: point where I don't care because the reality is, John,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I don't have those kind of skeletons in my closet.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I'm not perfect, you know. I've done some stupid shit
- 7:09Speaker 1: in my life, but I've never robbed anybody. I've never
- 7:12Speaker 1: been investigated by the FBI or even gone to jail.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You know, I am not a crook. And for these
- 7:19Speaker 1: people to come after us, men who have legitimate business,
- 7:23Speaker 1: you know, just want to support our wives on the
- 7:25Speaker 1: show and claim all these you know, stupid allegations when
- 7:29Speaker 1: they themselves are exactly what they're claiming to be right
- 7:32Speaker 1: or not to be. It just it just irks me,
- 7:35Speaker 1: and it questions the whole why are we on this
- 7:37Speaker 1: reality TV show?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Right?
- 7:39Speaker 1: But before we go that far, let's go back to
- 7:42Speaker 1: the beginning. John. I want to know, I want to
- 7:44Speaker 1: know your story on how you were cast for The
- 7:48Speaker 1: Real Housewives in New Jersey and did you have any
- 7:51Speaker 1: any knowledge of the show before you were a cast member?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Of course, well, I definitely had knowledge, right, So Joe
- 7:57Speaker 2: bought tyle for me for the show. I knew of
- 8:02Speaker 2: the show. Actually, one of my mom's friends is one
- 8:06Speaker 2: of Teresa's bankruptcy attorneys who helped take the time, So
- 8:11Speaker 2: there's a lot of connection to the show. But frank
- 8:15Speaker 2: was a friend of ours. Brittany, his future wife was
- 8:18Speaker 2: a friend of my wife. Of course we knew about
- 8:20Speaker 2: the show. Was not really something I geared towards being on,
- 8:25Speaker 2: to be honest with you, we moved up to Franklin Lake's.
- 8:28Speaker 2: There was jokes from people like I gotta be on
- 8:30Speaker 2: that show. I'm like, yeah, okay, let me the hell alone,
- 8:32Speaker 2: you know. And you know, one day, I guess they
- 8:35Speaker 2: reached out to my wife on Instagram, and you know, look,
- 8:39Speaker 2: I think at that point, my wife was pregnant. She
- 8:41Speaker 2: was home all day. You know, Rachel's trying to like
- 8:44Speaker 2: she really wants to do her own thing and kind
- 8:47Speaker 2: of have her own thing, right. So as a supportive husband,
- 8:50Speaker 2: my god, I'm always gonna support my wife. So I
- 8:53Speaker 2: stupid least like, yeah, whatever you want, go ahead and apply,
- 8:55Speaker 2: you know, like to see what they say. I just
- 8:58Speaker 2: didn't think it would go anywhere. And I remember, because
- 9:01Speaker 2: I was eating the bowl of cereal. You know, I
- 9:02Speaker 2: was eating the boat cinnamon the cereal, right, and I'm like, yeah,
- 9:05Speaker 2: go ahead and see what they say. This is kind
- 9:07Speaker 2: of like grubbing it off growing up here, I am,
- 9:10Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But we knew about it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: We went to the whole process. I think we were
- 9:16Speaker 2: a perfect fit because I think New Jersey is probably
- 9:18Speaker 2: one of the hardest shows to cast for. So I
- 9:20Speaker 2: guess we were a perfect fit from when I was
- 9:22Speaker 2: told and then we embarked in our inventure. Man, you know,
- 9:26Speaker 2: the first year. To be honest, a lot of people
- 9:30Speaker 2: don't realize that Louie used to reach out to me
- 9:33Speaker 2: at the beginning. I used to talk to everybody, including Louis.
- 9:35Speaker 2: We would have phone calls about economies and business and
- 9:38Speaker 2: things like that, and we would just talk like normal,
- 9:40Speaker 2: you know. And I was buddies were Joey still because
- 9:43Speaker 2: our kids.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And this was before the show.
- 9:46Speaker 2: This was the first year on the show. Season for the.
- 9:48Speaker 1: First year on the show. Okay, so you guys were buddies.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And I was friends with Gorgo's before the show because
- 9:54Speaker 2: the kids hunt up. Yeah, so the kids did hang out.
- 9:57Speaker 2: We were friends. Oh did give me a warning. He
- 10:01Speaker 2: tried to give me a warning, but it was very,
- 10:03Speaker 2: very filtered by the way there was a lot of
- 10:05Speaker 2: mask on his warning. I wish it was a little
- 10:07Speaker 2: bit more clear, but yeah, no, we did it. And
- 10:12Speaker 2: I used to talk to everybody in the beginning and
- 10:14Speaker 2: then towards the end of season thirteen and obviously that's
- 10:16Speaker 2: when it really parted ways.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's funny you say that. I've only had
- 10:23Speaker 1: a couple of husbands come up to me before they
- 10:25Speaker 1: joined the cast. And there's just one thing I always
- 10:28Speaker 1: reiterate to every single a one, and don't get involved
- 10:31Speaker 1: in the drama, and definitely don't go head to head
- 10:33Speaker 1: with the housewives because we have no control even though
- 10:36Speaker 1: we're right, even though we are innocent, we don't have
- 10:41Speaker 1: any control over the edit, so they're always going to
- 10:44Speaker 1: edit it so the housewife looks great and the guys
- 10:47Speaker 1: are never gonna look good. So I know that you've
- 10:51Speaker 1: been involved and you went to head to head with Teresa,
- 10:54Speaker 1: and I understand she was making these false allegations and
- 10:57Speaker 1: all that. I can't imagine having to deal with something
- 11:01Speaker 1: like that, But that's always been my my take on this,
- 11:05Speaker 1: like just stay out of it. Let them talk, let
- 11:07Speaker 1: them come up with some bullshit and let's it's illegal
- 11:09Speaker 1: and damaging, you know, not true, Let them talk out
- 11:14Speaker 1: of their ass, right.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Well that listen, when I I did not want to
- 11:18Speaker 2: really get involved, to be honest, right, but I kind
- 11:20Speaker 2: of have no choice but to get involved the way
- 11:22Speaker 2: I felt. First off, I have Jen aiding alluding to
- 11:25Speaker 2: the fact that I use sex toys and whatnot. Then
- 11:28Speaker 2: I have her alluding to the fact that I sell drugs.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So it's like, listen, you're really coming after my manhood, right,
- 11:33Speaker 2: Like you're really trying to piss me off. Now, couldn't
- 11:35Speaker 2: just let me be made a couple of times, call
- 11:37Speaker 2: me ugly, call me whatever. I laugh about it, right, Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 2: but you know, once you did that, I'm going to
- 11:43Speaker 2: defend myself like any normal person would. And I just
- 11:45Speaker 2: suspended myself. And I you know, I think one of
- 11:48Speaker 2: the reasons why I handled it so well, and I
- 11:50Speaker 2: think the reason it went in my direction is because
- 11:52Speaker 2: I was honest with everybody. I'm just right out. This
- 11:54Speaker 2: is what you see is what you get with me?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, no, I mean obviously you had no nothing
- 12:02Speaker 1: to hide or defend. Right, It's not like any of
- 12:05Speaker 1: that was true anyways. So it's easy to defend that,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but it's it's harder when you're actually under investigation or
- 12:12Speaker 1: you actually went to jail to say.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Innocent, right, right, right, because you know you've got that
- 12:19Speaker 2: in your background. Yeah, it's not that easy. You know,
- 12:30Speaker 2: you brought up a really good point about the way
- 12:33Speaker 2: we are edited as men, right because a lot of
- 12:35Speaker 2: we don't. There's no control over to yet it right.
- 12:38Speaker 2: A lot of people don't realize that. You know, you
- 12:40Speaker 2: film a lot and some of it makes the cut
- 12:43Speaker 2: and some of it doesn't, but you don't have any
- 12:44Speaker 2: control of where they start and stop things. But you know,
- 12:48Speaker 2: I feel like I've gotten I've had some good edits.
- 12:51Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I think a lot of
- 12:52Speaker 2: the truth was told and what I was doing, and
- 12:55Speaker 2: I'm kind of happy for that. I can't really complain
- 12:58Speaker 2: too much, but I get how a lot of feel
- 13:00Speaker 2: like they didn't get a good.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Adic right right on. One. Another thing that I want
- 13:05Speaker 1: to mention about that is the biggest lesson I learned
- 13:07Speaker 1: about being on a reality TV show is that the
- 13:09Speaker 1: camera is very transparent. You can try unless you're a
- 13:14Speaker 1: really good a list professional actor, the camera, we'll see
- 13:18Speaker 1: right through you. And there's a lot of characters on
- 13:20Speaker 1: the show that I didn't know before the show, but
- 13:23Speaker 1: filming with them and then watching them on TV, I'm like, yeah,
- 13:26Speaker 1: that guy's a scumbag.
- 13:27Speaker 2: You know.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I didn't see it coming, But now that I see
- 13:30Speaker 1: it on TV, I'm like, yeah, it makes sense now.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And then if you're at all interested, you just google
- 13:36Speaker 1: their name. You're like, yeah, scumbag, you know. So the
- 13:40Speaker 1: reality is is if you have nothing to defend, then
- 13:44Speaker 1: you're then you just have to clear up your name.
- 13:46Speaker 1: And that's all you did, right You Just Hey, I'm
- 13:49Speaker 1: not here to fight with you. I'm just here to
- 13:51Speaker 1: say this is who I really am.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So right, Like, I don't sell drugs. I didn't make
- 13:56Speaker 2: my living on selling drugs. I have nothing to hide,
- 13:59Speaker 2: you know what I mean. Yeah, it was easy for
- 14:00Speaker 2: me to do.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I couldn't help.
- 14:04Speaker 3: But hear the sex toys? What was that all about?
- 14:06Speaker 2: You got accuse me? I don't even understand how that
- 14:09Speaker 2: came out? What's that deal? Bro? Allegedly there's this thread
- 14:14Speaker 2: I like purple dildos that was like this this thread
- 14:17Speaker 2: that came out from my ex. You know, first off,
- 14:20Speaker 2: anyone who has an ex most likely didn't end off
- 14:22Speaker 2: in well terms. Like there's not a lot of exes
- 14:24Speaker 2: that talk well about each other right now, especially when
- 14:28Speaker 2: you get full stole custody of a kid. You're not.
- 14:30Speaker 2: It's not like, oh yeah, he's amazing, he's a wonderful
- 14:33Speaker 2: guy that no custody of the kid. She hates my guts.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah. So is it is it true or a rumor
- 14:42Speaker 1: that she is actually incarcerated?
- 14:45Speaker 2: She she was incarcerator. I believe she was recently let out.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, she recently got out. She was incarcerated.
- 14:51Speaker 2: You know, she made some tough choices that got her
- 14:54Speaker 2: to where she was in life. Yeah, she was a
- 14:57Speaker 2: beautiful girl when I'm better man, she really it was
- 15:00Speaker 2: a beautiful girl. But just unfortunately life gives you decisions
- 15:03Speaker 2: to make and she made some bad ones and I
- 15:05Speaker 2: had to make different decisions at that time to protect
- 15:08Speaker 2: you know, the child we had, and I did the
- 15:10Speaker 2: right thing.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Yeah. How long were you a single dad before you
- 15:14Speaker 1: met Rachel oh Man?
- 15:17Speaker 2: I was a single dad from I would say two
- 15:20Speaker 2: thousand and seven to two thousand and fourteen, fifteen.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Okay, Wow, that's a long time.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah, man, listen, I enjoyed myself, you know, I definitely
- 15:32Speaker 2: I had my son and I would go out and
- 15:34Speaker 2: my mother helped me out a lot.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Man.
- 15:36Speaker 2: She would watch him when I go out at night,
- 15:37Speaker 2: spend a whole day, hang out with my son a
- 15:41Speaker 2: little bit, and then go go out at night. Do it.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Do what young people do, right, and then wake up,
- 15:45Speaker 2: go to work and see to see the kid before
- 15:47Speaker 2: he goes to school. Go to work and do your thing.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a long time. Mine was only three weeks.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Meeting Kenny three weeks after, but we we did.
- 16:02Speaker 3: That just happened him like three weeks later. I thought
- 16:04Speaker 3: I was going to be single for like ten years
- 16:06Speaker 3: at least before, but in lasted three weeks.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to listen. I didn't want to rush
- 16:12Speaker 2: into anything. I wanted to really enjoy and get, you know, experiment,
- 16:16Speaker 2: and I did. I took my time, and I really
- 16:19Speaker 2: knew what I wanted when I met my wife.
- 16:21Speaker 1: So what was one of the most challenging things being
- 16:24Speaker 1: a single dad?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Most challenging things I guess this. You know, he didn't
- 16:33Speaker 2: really have a mother to at a younger age to
- 16:36Speaker 2: kind of learn some of those qualities that would be
- 16:38Speaker 2: the most because Rachel really when she met him, there
- 16:41Speaker 2: was a lot of work that had to be done
- 16:42Speaker 2: with therapists and stuff, and we really had to get
- 16:45Speaker 2: him some of those qualities to where he needed to be.
- 16:48Speaker 2: As far as me as a man, by far, I
- 16:50Speaker 2: loved it. I would go out, I have my son,
- 16:52Speaker 2: I had everything I need to hung out with this one.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I hung out with that one and never introduced anybody
- 16:56Speaker 2: to my son.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I was like, this is gonna add Did you ever
- 17:01Speaker 1: like use them as bait?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Na?
- 17:03Speaker 2: No? Never as much as easy as it could have been. Right,
- 17:07Speaker 2: this is a puffy dog is a little easier because
- 17:09Speaker 2: there's no feelings for a puppy.
- 17:11Speaker 1: But that's hilarious, awesome.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Hey, by the way, John, so obviously you your family business, right,
- 17:20Speaker 3: Uh it was just food a tile, So you you
- 17:23Speaker 3: were selling towels for a long time, and it's obviously
- 17:25Speaker 3: you your family has had that for a long time.
- 17:27Speaker 3: And then you've had your ballet business.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Right. Uh.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Before the show came on, were you were you concerned
- 17:33Speaker 3: at all that it was going to affect your family
- 17:35Speaker 3: business and your own business at all? The data ever
- 17:38Speaker 3: crossed your mind.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah, So it crossed my mind a lot, right,
- 17:42Speaker 2: So at first I thought it would affect it. Then
- 17:47Speaker 2: I said, hey, it's gonna help because a lot of
- 17:49Speaker 2: people in the future field that I might relate and
- 17:51Speaker 2: you know, might want to connect with it. Of course,
- 17:54Speaker 2: to the comment of being a drug deal to not
- 17:55Speaker 2: help my case at all, but that's anything and amplified
- 17:58Speaker 2: it and made it harder. But at this point, you know,
- 18:02Speaker 2: we're operating, we're seeing it through. We had a little
- 18:04Speaker 2: bit of a hit during that time, and we're able
- 18:07Speaker 2: to recover a lot because we do do a great
- 18:08Speaker 2: service of what we do, and we got back on
- 18:10Speaker 2: our feet.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Wow.
- 18:12Speaker 3: So tell us about how you started your company. How
- 18:15Speaker 3: did that come about? You're working with the family and
- 18:18Speaker 3: a What did you learn most about who was your
- 18:20Speaker 3: mentor in the food A taw And then how did
- 18:23Speaker 3: you decide to branch off and do your own thing
- 18:26Speaker 3: and start your ballet company which is a very successful
- 18:29Speaker 3: company out there.
- 18:30Speaker 2: So I learned obviously from my family. I had my
- 18:34Speaker 2: uncle Frank, I had my grandfather. When I was younger,
- 18:37Speaker 2: I lived in Florida for a little bit with my father.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I learned construction at that point but I learned how
- 18:41Speaker 2: to really install tile build construct at a very young age.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I liked it wasn't bad, but there was a lot
- 18:50Speaker 2: of competition in the space. It really was, and I
- 18:52Speaker 2: was young, so it'd be hard to get jobs. People
- 18:54Speaker 2: didn't trust giving you the money. So in twenty thirteen,
- 18:57Speaker 2: I said to myself, I got to do something different.
- 19:00Speaker 2: So many hands in this family business, I don't see
- 19:02Speaker 2: where this is going to go. So I started working,
- 19:05Speaker 2: like doing valet at night because there was hot chicks
- 19:07Speaker 2: that would go into the restaurants. You get to drive
- 19:10Speaker 2: nice cars. I'm like, this is great. You know, you
- 19:12Speaker 2: can make a couple of bucks before you know what
- 19:14Speaker 2: I had. You know, I had a few accounts that
- 19:16Speaker 2: I was running in the restaurant business, and that was
- 19:19Speaker 2: what you know is standard valet. Obviously, you know a
- 19:22Speaker 2: lot of people are like, ohways in the valet business.
- 19:24Speaker 2: They think that's what I do for a living. That
- 19:27Speaker 2: is only like the restaurant aspect of it, which eventually
- 19:30Speaker 2: you grow out. Now I service car dealerships, we do hospitals,
- 19:34Speaker 2: we do residential buildings, and we service not only valet attendants,
- 19:38Speaker 2: but we service concierge concierge, janitorial, So we do so
- 19:43Speaker 2: many more aspects than just a valet and now you
- 19:47Speaker 2: know we're a nice buy's company.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Well what would you tell someone that maybe as young
- 19:53Speaker 3: as their own ballet business, but right now it's just restaurants?
- 19:56Speaker 2: Right?
- 19:57Speaker 3: What made you? What did it click for you? Like
- 20:00Speaker 3: a minute, I could make this a lot bigger and
- 20:02Speaker 3: I could branch off and do way bigger things. What
- 20:05Speaker 3: was a catalyst moment for you?
- 20:07Speaker 2: So I actually I do tell people. I still get
- 20:10Speaker 2: people that ask me, no matter what business I'm in,
- 20:12Speaker 2: because I'm in a few different always wait three years.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Everybody gets in business, they jump in, they don't make
- 20:17Speaker 2: money in a year, and they want to get out,
- 20:19Speaker 2: they want to abandon shit. The first year is the
- 20:21Speaker 2: hardest year. The second year you start to you know,
- 20:25Speaker 2: you build it to where you need it. In the
- 20:26Speaker 2: third year usually you see the reward. So I always say,
- 20:29Speaker 2: if you're going to do something, give it three years.
- 20:31Speaker 2: So if I had to advise anybody on a business
- 20:33Speaker 2: and what they were getting into, I would definitely say
- 20:35Speaker 2: research it, get your technology in order, learn all your
- 20:40Speaker 2: local labor laws, because my business have a ton of
- 20:42Speaker 2: laws regarding employment. Learn all those laws and just wait
- 20:46Speaker 2: three years. Man, don't give up till three years is done.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I like good advice.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Yeah, the number three, the number three.
- 20:57Speaker 3: What's the toughest part of what you do?
- 20:59Speaker 2: You think the toughest part about what I do is
- 21:02Speaker 2: dealing with personality. So I deal with the client, I
- 21:05Speaker 2: deal with the employee. Now there's a lot of labor
- 21:07Speaker 2: laws out there now that make the job a little harder.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And then you have to go to the client to
- 21:11Speaker 2: get more money. You know, obviously pay for more things
- 21:14Speaker 2: that they're offering as a law, and that's what makes
- 21:17Speaker 2: it harder for fund the equal balance to do.
- 21:19Speaker 3: So, by the way, is Jersey like Cali, where like
- 21:22Speaker 3: the other day I was driving on the freeway and
- 21:25Speaker 3: I kid you not, I took a two hour drive
- 21:27Speaker 3: and then I just started seeing billboards and all of
- 21:30Speaker 3: them are lawyers. Like it got my attention. I'm like, oh, shoot,
- 21:35Speaker 3: every billboard is a freaking lawyer like that.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Jersey is just like that, but not as bad
- 21:43Speaker 2: as Calie. Cali has to be one of the worst
- 21:45Speaker 2: states to employ people in. It is. It is something else,
- 21:49Speaker 2: it really is. But I mean, look, that's just the
- 21:52Speaker 2: world we're living right, Guys like, look, yeah, a world.
- 21:55Speaker 2: I don't know. You both can remember five years ago,
- 21:58Speaker 2: just before COVID how different it was to what is now.
- 22:01Speaker 2: You know, just being in business is a whole different
- 22:02Speaker 2: ballgame right now. Yeah, there's so many people that are
- 22:07Speaker 2: going in business for themselves, you know, they're Grooper really
- 22:11Speaker 2: changed a lot in the game. But there's so many
- 22:14Speaker 2: I would say, migrants and people that are basically going
- 22:16Speaker 2: in business for themselves competing and they're not they're not
- 22:19Speaker 2: paying the right insurances, they're not doing things right, and
- 22:22Speaker 2: you're you're stuck competing against that.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's the best. The bottom line is,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you know, I've learned throughout my business career there's always
- 22:30Speaker 1: going to be those that break the law and seem
- 22:34Speaker 1: to be getting away with it. You know, they might
- 22:36Speaker 1: advertise illegally and claim make claims that are not true
- 22:40Speaker 1: and get the business, get the customers, and ultimately they
- 22:44Speaker 1: fail because they don't deliver on their promise or what
- 22:47Speaker 1: they're selling. Right. So I always say, it's it's not
- 22:50Speaker 1: a matter of if, it's a matter of when they
- 22:52Speaker 1: get caught and their business is going to be under
- 22:55Speaker 1: And I noticed kind of a pattern as well with
- 22:57Speaker 1: those same people that do that kind of crap. They
- 23:00Speaker 1: start a business, they get their money, then they bankrupt it,
- 23:04Speaker 1: and then they go up and open up another business
- 23:06Speaker 1: and do the same shit it over and over and over,
- 23:08Speaker 1: and eventually it'll catch up to them, maybe, like the
- 23:10Speaker 1: FBI will catch up to them. But you know, it's
- 23:13Speaker 1: just it makes it hard for legitimate businesses to not
- 23:18Speaker 1: only you know, maintain the validity of the industry, like
- 23:22Speaker 1: the cannabis industry especially right now. Right we have a
- 23:25Speaker 1: lot of competition with a lot of fake products out
- 23:28Speaker 1: there that say, you know, this is cannabis, and then
- 23:31Speaker 1: it hurts the industry. Even though we're doing everything diligent,
- 23:34Speaker 1: providing quality ingredients and quality products, doing all the testing
- 23:39Speaker 1: and everything and giving the customer exactly what we say
- 23:41Speaker 1: is in our product, there's other companies out there that
- 23:44Speaker 1: are not providing any of that, and it hurts the
- 23:48Speaker 1: industry overall. So that irks me and I hate that,
- 23:53Speaker 1: But that's the reality of business in America, right, Yeah.
- 23:56Speaker 2: No, it really is. That you just spelled it out perfectly. Now,
- 24:00Speaker 2: there's always going to be guys around us in business
- 24:02Speaker 2: that are always looking to raise capital. I always that's
- 24:05Speaker 2: a red flag whenever I hear that, what do you
- 24:08Speaker 2: need money for it? And then all of a sudden
- 24:09Speaker 2: they're starting business to putting it into some other type
- 24:12Speaker 2: of their business and stealing the money that way. So
- 24:15Speaker 2: I always looked out for those people. And then you
- 24:19Speaker 2: get you know, if someone needed a loan or whatever
- 24:23Speaker 2: and you can't go to a bank, it's a huge
- 24:25Speaker 2: red flag. And I feel so bad for business people
- 24:27Speaker 2: that I talk to and people it's like, oh, I
- 24:30Speaker 2: loan money to this person to help them start a business,
- 24:33Speaker 2: and I haven't seen him return in two years and
- 24:35Speaker 2: they haven't shown me anything. What can I do? What
- 24:38Speaker 2: can you do? I mean, what what's mattered? Every quarter?
- 24:41Speaker 2: You should be looking for a statement. And if that
- 24:43Speaker 2: statement is not there, how did you guarantee to your loan.
- 24:47Speaker 2: There's so many things that I feel bad for that
- 24:49Speaker 2: I sit and I'm like, you loan money to who
- 24:51Speaker 2: for what? And I don't loan money to family. I
- 24:55Speaker 2: don't help. I don't know. I don't do that.
- 24:58Speaker 1: It's a giveaway for money for family. You you just
- 25:01Speaker 1: don't expect it back.
- 25:03Speaker 2: No, I don't. I don't do that. Yeah, You'll never
- 25:05Speaker 2: get it back.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeh, I never get it back.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Hey, John, tell us about glamorous studios and you what
- 25:19Speaker 3: made you want to partner up with Joe?
- 25:21Speaker 2: What made me want to partner with the Gorgas?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Uh?
- 25:24Speaker 2: Well, everybody says to the partner with the Gorga and
- 25:27Speaker 2: they got screwed or some business deal went bad. Right,
- 25:30Speaker 2: So I guess I challenge the ultimate, right. I was like,
- 25:33Speaker 2: you know what, I want to go at this now.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I'm just kidding around. So me and Joe are really
- 25:37Speaker 2: good friends. Look, I'm in this phase now where passive
- 25:41Speaker 2: income is my new thing, all right. I just want
- 25:44Speaker 2: to create passive income. And the way I explained it
- 25:47Speaker 2: all I was like, I want to build rivers, and
- 25:48Speaker 2: those rivers are going to feed the bay, and I
- 25:50Speaker 2: want those rivers to constantly flow. So you know, I
- 25:54Speaker 2: have a billable hour river that's flowing. I have a
- 25:57Speaker 2: couple of rental units, and I'm building that river that's flowing.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And I wanted to expand. So going into glan Slon
- 26:04Speaker 2: Studios is basically the space that I think is thriving. Right.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Everybody wants to be in business for themselves now, so
- 26:10Speaker 2: why not take a larger space, subdivided, give them the
- 26:14Speaker 2: ability to be in business for themselves. Now both of
- 26:18Speaker 2: our wives. I have people in and out of my
- 26:19Speaker 2: house daily, and all I do is I talk to
- 26:21Speaker 2: these people because that's just who I am, the personality.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I talked to everybody. How you doing? We just start?
- 26:26Speaker 2: Had you come up? You know? And I talked to
- 26:28Speaker 2: all these beauty exeditions and I just hear the story
- 26:31Speaker 2: and I'm like, you know what, this is a great idea.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I started fishing around. There was a buddy who was
- 26:36Speaker 2: doing it where I was going to invest in them
- 26:38Speaker 2: with him. Something turned me off about investing with them,
- 26:42Speaker 2: so I decided that that wasn't the route to go.
- 26:44Speaker 2: So me and Joe decided at that point, hey, let's
- 26:46Speaker 2: just do it ourselves. You know, it's just I'm We're
- 26:50Speaker 2: going to go for it. See what we could turn
- 26:52Speaker 2: it into. He's got the construction background. I have some
- 26:55Speaker 2: of it. We could turn this into a money maker.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Why not let's try it.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Well, tell us about the business. What is it?
- 27:00Speaker 2: So what it is is it's basically subdivided studios. So
- 27:04Speaker 2: we took a larger space. We subdivided it. Now, if
- 27:07Speaker 2: you're in the business of waxing people. Right, I got wax.
- 27:10Speaker 2: So here you go, there's a wax studio. This is
- 27:14Speaker 2: I'm going to give Joe his own wax studio. This
- 27:16Speaker 2: you go wax away in there, right, But you want
- 27:19Speaker 2: to wax people, and you want to bring your clients there.
- 27:21Speaker 2: You pay us, you know, weekly, and then you're able
- 27:24Speaker 2: to bring your clients there. So now it's ay least
- 27:26Speaker 2: from us yearly, but it's just distributed weekly. And now
- 27:30Speaker 2: if they have a client base, they can bring them
- 27:32Speaker 2: there and they can use it as their studio. If
- 27:34Speaker 2: they are a eyebrow waxer, they do eyebrow waxing, we're tattooing.
- 27:39Speaker 2: You can rent a studio from us if you do hair.
- 27:42Speaker 2: And you don't want to work for a beauty salon
- 27:44Speaker 2: because a lot of these girls, you don't realize they're
- 27:46Speaker 2: working for these salons and they're getting they're given all
- 27:49Speaker 2: their money to the Salona arm. You wouldn't believe how
- 27:51Speaker 2: much the cut is. Where they're all going in business
- 27:54Speaker 2: for themselves at this point. And I mean, I'm sure
- 27:56Speaker 2: you guys see it. You got hair and makeup in
- 27:58Speaker 2: your house every day, you see what going on you know,
- 28:01Speaker 2: they're bringing everything to people's homes at this point just
- 28:04Speaker 2: to make the money, So why not give them a
- 28:06Speaker 2: studio space and then people can come to the studio. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 2: so that's really what it is. It's basically you've got
- 28:12Speaker 2: boat talks. Come there. Now. Even if you're a doctor
- 28:15Speaker 2: and you need a strings office comes see, yes, we
- 28:17Speaker 2: got you.
- 28:18Speaker 1: So you're building the infrastructure, the real estate infrastructure around it.
- 28:23Speaker 1: So these folks have an economical way of conducting their
- 28:27Speaker 1: business without you know, breaking the bank. When it comes
- 28:31Speaker 1: to having your own brick and mortar, right, well.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Think about it. To open a beauty salon, you have
- 28:37Speaker 2: to go out, you have to lease the space, you
- 28:39Speaker 2: have to put a security deposit down. Once you do that,
- 28:41Speaker 2: now you have to do a build out, right, You
- 28:44Speaker 2: got to build a whole place out. So if you
- 28:46Speaker 2: only need one chair really for yourself, and you have
- 28:48Speaker 2: to build four or five chairs and then go and
- 28:50Speaker 2: hire and manage employees. A lot of people don't want
- 28:53Speaker 2: to deal with that. They want to work for themselves,
- 28:57Speaker 2: but they don't want to deal with that. So our
- 28:58Speaker 2: salon suites give them the ability to work for themselves,
- 29:02Speaker 2: manage their own schedule. Have their own suite and that's it.
- 29:05Speaker 2: They don't have to put the money out to really
- 29:07Speaker 2: go crazy and build this whole place.
- 29:10Speaker 3: So is it like a Regius but for beauty right?
- 29:14Speaker 2: Pretty much?
- 29:15Speaker 3: Nice?
- 29:16Speaker 1: I like it. I like it.
- 29:17Speaker 2: We work are Regius, but it's all beauty space nice.
- 29:22Speaker 2: So it's interesting, you know, But it's about trying things.
- 29:26Speaker 3: So our next episode we're going to talk about what
- 29:28Speaker 3: Eddie and I do for beauty that would actually work
- 29:31Speaker 3: for us. We could actually go to one of your
- 29:32Speaker 3: salons if you open one in California.
- 29:34Speaker 2: What's your beauty routine? What do you do?
- 29:38Speaker 4: You just get a wait for the other episode. Yeah,
- 29:47Speaker 4: we'll talk about that at the next episode for sure.
- 29:51Speaker 4: But we want to we really want to just make
- 29:53Speaker 4: this about you and and learn as much as we
- 29:55Speaker 4: can about you. John, I'd like to talk a little
- 29:59Speaker 4: bit more about the me experience Ed and I Edwin
- 30:03Speaker 4: and I Can I.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Call you Ed because yeah, yeah, so Ed and I
- 30:07Speaker 1: we we've experienced it good and bad, and we've shared
- 30:12Speaker 1: our experience on the show and with some examples. Can
- 30:16Speaker 1: you tell us a little bit about what do you
- 30:18Speaker 1: like and what you dislike about filming reality TV? Real Housewives.
- 30:23Speaker 2: So one of the one of the things I like is,
- 30:26Speaker 2: you know, obviously your wife is happy. You see her happy, right,
- 30:29Speaker 2: And you get to meet people and you get to
- 30:31Speaker 2: do with some of the some very interesting things that
- 30:33Speaker 2: you probably wouldn't really do every day. Right. You get
- 30:36Speaker 2: to go to certain events, you get to do things,
- 30:39Speaker 2: you get put on a pedestal a little bit, you
- 30:41Speaker 2: get reservations easy, you get hooked up. But I think
- 30:44Speaker 2: some of the most challenging things I have is being
- 30:46Speaker 2: a guy on The Real Housewives New Jersey. It's almost
- 30:49Speaker 2: like you're a main cast member, but you're not right
- 30:52Speaker 2: because you're not a housewife technically, right, But your whole
- 30:55Speaker 2: life is on TV, your whole kids are on TV,
- 30:57Speaker 2: and you have people that are blowing you up on
- 30:59Speaker 2: social media. Right. Social media is the playground for everybody
- 31:04Speaker 2: to have their opinion, right, like, oh, you're involving yourself
- 31:07Speaker 2: too much, or you're this, or you're that, And it's
- 31:09Speaker 2: very easy to have an opinion. It's very easy to
- 31:12Speaker 2: have an opinion until you're the person that's being judged constantly.
- 31:16Speaker 2: You know, But I just don't care, so it doesn't
- 31:18Speaker 2: bother me. But you know, when you're thinking in the
- 31:21Speaker 2: moment and you're like, Okay, well I did it this way.
- 31:24Speaker 2: You don't really have so much time to really think
- 31:26Speaker 2: about the best way to do it. Sometimes this is
- 31:28Speaker 2: not scripted, you know, you just freestyleing off the cup.
- 31:31Speaker 2: And I didn't go to school being in a reality
- 31:33Speaker 2: TV And I'm a business dude. I'm in a valet
- 31:35Speaker 2: business and tile business. You know, I'm not in theater
- 31:38Speaker 2: at all art, you know. So I don't like you know,
- 31:42Speaker 2: there's a lot of things going on on social media,
- 31:45Speaker 2: and there's a lot of people that kind of rip
- 31:47Speaker 2: our lives apart as if we're toys and then actually
- 31:50Speaker 2: in a play chess and we're really not. I don't
- 31:53Speaker 2: like our kids involved, you know. I don't like when
- 31:55Speaker 2: people bring the kids into it. The kids are there,
- 31:58Speaker 2: they're part of our life, but they shouldn't be subject
- 32:01Speaker 2: to comments on social media things that are going on
- 32:04Speaker 2: that's out of bounce. You know, you totally now, Yeah,
- 32:08Speaker 2: my son doesn't need to you know, people are signed
- 32:10Speaker 2: him Bilbo pictures and this and that, and then you're
- 32:12Speaker 2: trying to tell me how to parent at the same time. No,
- 32:17Speaker 2: you know, it's very simple. I don't like, as a guy,
- 32:21Speaker 2: you just don't get any recognition. Your whole life is
- 32:24Speaker 2: being broadcast and you get no recognition to really say it.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I don't even have a confessional moment where I can
- 32:30Speaker 2: even defend myself most of these times. Right, some of
- 32:32Speaker 2: the other guys can get that, but I get ripped
- 32:35Speaker 2: apart on season fourteen. I don't even have the ability
- 32:37Speaker 2: to say, hey, this is my version of what and
- 32:40Speaker 2: this is how this happened. I don't have that platform. Yeah,
- 32:43Speaker 2: so I don't like that. Other than that, it's not bad,
- 32:49Speaker 2: you know, it's just when the Housewives says something about
- 32:51Speaker 2: a guy, you don't really have the defense that you
- 32:53Speaker 2: should have.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Right, No, it's it's hard, especially when they're making a
- 32:57Speaker 1: fabricated lies about you, whatever they may be. You know,
- 33:01Speaker 1: it's it's how do you defend the lie? You just
- 33:04Speaker 1: ignore it. It has no legs, it's got no validity,
- 33:07Speaker 1: and you can say whatever you want until you break
- 33:10Speaker 1: the law. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna engage with you, right,
- 33:14Speaker 1: I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna go there. I mean,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I just wanted
- 33:17Speaker 1: to blow up and you know, go to the media
- 33:20Speaker 1: and tell my side of the story or or retaliate
- 33:24Speaker 1: if you will. But it really just becomes a waste
- 33:29Speaker 1: of my time when I could be doing some so
- 33:32Speaker 1: much other stuff, you know, more productive stuff, then defending
- 33:35Speaker 1: myself on a reality TV show which I have no
- 33:38Speaker 1: control of.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Right, right, And then it it just gets to a
- 33:42Speaker 2: point though where it's like whatever, it's only it's it's
- 33:45Speaker 2: a reality TV show and it's not real life. This
- 33:47Speaker 2: is ridiculous. And I think men process a little different
- 33:50Speaker 2: than women. Do you get angry about it, You go
- 33:52Speaker 2: to the gym, you work it off, and I think
- 33:54Speaker 2: you kind of just you know, move on with your day. Yeah.
- 33:58Speaker 2: I do think, and I'm a strong advocator for you know,
- 34:02Speaker 2: I do think there should be a men's time out,
- 34:05Speaker 2: or a men's show or men's vacation. I think that
- 34:07Speaker 2: there's so much the guys get along. Obviously in Vegas
- 34:10Speaker 2: we had a great time. We get along. There's so
- 34:13Speaker 2: much more to learn about the guys. And I think
- 34:15Speaker 2: that the guys tend to make people laugh.
- 34:17Speaker 1: And I think that, Yeah, I was just going to
- 34:19Speaker 1: say that the biggest difference about the Jersey men's cast
- 34:23Speaker 1: versus all the franchises, and I don't watch all of them.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I barely even watch mine. My experience on my own
- 34:31Speaker 1: cast is I don't know these guys from Adam. And
- 34:33Speaker 1: There's been very few, maybe three guys in the entire
- 34:37Speaker 1: twelve years that I've filmed that I've actually liked the
- 34:39Speaker 1: guys on the other on the cast, you know, Terry
- 34:42Speaker 1: Burrow being one, Shane being another, David deb Or, David Badoor,
- 34:47Speaker 1: you know, very few guys. The rest of them sketchy,
- 34:50Speaker 1: you know, like I don't want anything to do with them,
- 34:53Speaker 1: zero to do with them, and and like, and that's
- 34:57Speaker 1: the problem I have with being on a show where
- 35:00Speaker 1: I can you know, I don't know these people. I
- 35:02Speaker 1: don't want to know these people. But even if I did,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't trust to tell them anything because you never
- 35:10Speaker 1: know what's going to be shown on TV, right, or
- 35:12Speaker 1: what they're going to bring up for whatever reason? Right, Yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 1: I don't know who. Do you think Edwin well?
- 35:22Speaker 3: No, I tend to agree. It's it's tough. I think
- 35:25Speaker 3: the Jersey guys do a good job of like really
- 35:27Speaker 3: hanging out and stuff, but it is hard to what
- 35:31Speaker 3: do you tell? How much could you tell a cast
- 35:33Speaker 3: member because they could tell the wife and then the
- 35:37Speaker 3: wife turns around and blows you up on TV. Right, So, uh,
- 35:42Speaker 3: you just to your point, you never know, And I
- 35:44Speaker 3: think that's what makes it a little harder for the
- 35:45Speaker 3: guys to like really kind of hang out. Uh is
- 35:49Speaker 3: that I think most won't admit it, but I think
- 35:53Speaker 3: deep down it's kind of hard to hang out because
- 35:55Speaker 3: of that because you just don't know. That's when when
- 35:58Speaker 3: I mean, I haven't seen it, but you saw it.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Maybe you see it, Eddie, But typically once you stop filming,
- 36:04Speaker 3: you're not really hanging out.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I think.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Again, I think the Jersey guys do a good job
- 36:08Speaker 3: of that, but I think everyone else I haven't really
- 36:10Speaker 3: seen anybody really hang out after filming.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Like that was my point I was trying to make,
- 36:16Speaker 1: is that the Jersey guys are different when it comes
- 36:18Speaker 1: to the show. Because you guys all get along, most
- 36:20Speaker 1: of you get along.
- 36:23Speaker 2: You got to make sure you say most of us.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because you know. And in my opinion, this is
- 36:29Speaker 1: just my opinion, it's all revolving around Joe Gorga, who's
- 36:32Speaker 1: the life of the party, totally down to earth cool guy.
- 36:36Speaker 1: We had him on our podcast and We really enjoyed
- 36:38Speaker 1: his energy and his story. And from day one I
- 36:42Speaker 1: got along with Joe because he's just such a cool
- 36:44Speaker 1: cat and he just wants to have a good time.
- 36:47Speaker 1: You know, he's not attacking the guys. He's just I mean,
- 36:50Speaker 1: he wants to be on stage and he's good. He's
- 36:52Speaker 1: got charismatic charisma up the yin yang and he's had
- 36:57Speaker 1: your own show at the Bravo Calm last year. It's
- 37:01Speaker 1: just phenomenal. Yeah. I mean, you guys are enjoying it
- 37:06Speaker 1: and having fun, and I do admire that, but we
- 37:09Speaker 1: we don't have any of that in my in my franchise.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I don't think you have that edwin like that kind
- 37:17Speaker 1: of connection. Yeah. Yeah, it's just it's it's not it's
- 37:20Speaker 1: not something that is common in the Housewives show. But
- 37:24Speaker 1: you guys definitely stand out. And when I hung out
- 37:27Speaker 1: with you guys, gave me the opportunity to hang out
- 37:28Speaker 1: with you guys at probably Con, I really enjoyed myself
- 37:32Speaker 1: and there was no pressure, there was no like I'm
- 37:34Speaker 1: trying to be somebody I'm not and and it was cool.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I really enjoyed hanging out with you guys.
- 37:40Speaker 2: No, you hit it best we just all, you know,
- 37:43Speaker 2: we all want to have a good time, not just
- 37:45Speaker 2: we all want to just have a good time, laugh
- 37:47Speaker 2: and have a good time go home. That's that is
- 37:50Speaker 2: Like even tonight Joe and Frank they got a comedy show.
- 37:53Speaker 2: I'll probably go there at some point tonight or tomorrow
- 37:55Speaker 2: and bust their chops in the audience.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Have fun.
- 37:59Speaker 2: It's just we have a good camaraderie. Again, not all
- 38:02Speaker 2: of us, but before there's four of us that have
- 38:04Speaker 2: a really close relationship.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Joe's doing comedy now, Yeah, I got to keep
- 38:10Speaker 3: up with him.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he does it all. I'm telling you, he's been
- 38:15Speaker 1: doing comedy.
- 38:15Speaker 2: And actually he's pretty funny, man, I give him that.
- 38:18Speaker 2: You know, he's pretty funny. But I mean, look, Joe's
- 38:20Speaker 2: a great guy. I know him on a different level.
- 38:22Speaker 2: I mean since I got in this show, he took
- 38:24Speaker 2: me right underneath his wedding. Could have could have steered
- 38:27Speaker 2: me in the wrong direction. There was no jelus here,
- 38:29Speaker 2: any of that steered me in the right direction. We're
- 38:31Speaker 2: boys who are friends to his day. Just have fun
- 38:36Speaker 2: with it, That's all I can say. Man, I have
- 38:37Speaker 2: fun with it. There's good days and bad you know.
- 38:40Speaker 2: There's some days but the internet's blowing up and it
- 38:42Speaker 2: just like, what the hell did I do this for?
- 38:43Speaker 2: You know?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Eventually, like.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Anything else, you outgrow it. I think that's that's the
- 38:48Speaker 2: best word. Eventually. It's like I would either run in
- 38:52Speaker 2: their mouth again, so be it. Like I heard, you know,
- 38:54Speaker 2: Kenny and was just doing a podcast running her mouth
- 38:56Speaker 2: about my family. Yeah, go ahead if you need to
- 38:58Speaker 2: talk about me that bad.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I love that.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel bad because we're not talking. I don't
- 39:04Speaker 2: really give a shit about your people. Yeah, that's how
- 39:08Speaker 2: I call it. I really don't give us to it.
- 39:10Speaker 1: And I think that's another really good point we want
- 39:12Speaker 1: to bring up is that the show is a show,
- 39:16Speaker 1: and even though it is reality TV, it's still a production.
- 39:20Speaker 1: It's still edited, and it's still designed to create a
- 39:23Speaker 1: story and a show for what it's worth. Taking it
- 39:27Speaker 1: outside of the filming days and the airing days and
- 39:30Speaker 1: making this a personal attack on your social media or however,
- 39:34Speaker 1: just anything outside of the Bravo curtain. It should be
- 39:39Speaker 1: off limits. You know. It's like you go to work.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Let's say you're a lawyer. You go to work, you
- 39:44Speaker 1: practice law, and then you leave it at the office. Right,
- 39:47Speaker 1: sometimes you take it home, but it's here. You're not
- 39:50Speaker 1: broadcasting it to the world to say, this is the
- 39:53Speaker 1: biggest case I'm working on, and I'm going to tell
- 39:55Speaker 1: everybody what's going on, because then you'd lose the case.
- 39:58Speaker 1: But the point is keep it in the TV realm,
- 40:02Speaker 1: don't take it outside of this and make it that
- 40:05Speaker 1: much more personal than it has to be. And I
- 40:07Speaker 1: get it. Some people have to defend their lies, but
- 40:10Speaker 1: you know, the truth is the truth and will always prevail.
- 40:13Speaker 1: The truth will always prevail.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I also think some people just need to do that
- 40:18Speaker 2: to build who they are, you know, And I don't
- 40:21Speaker 2: think unless you have somebody to take down, you have nothing.
- 40:23Speaker 2: There's some people that are like that in the world, right.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I know a lot of people that they have to
- 40:27Speaker 2: rip people apart to build themselves up.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's kind of their character. But some would
- 40:34Speaker 1: argue that my wife falls into that category. But she
- 40:37Speaker 1: just tells the truth, you know, she just calls out
- 40:39Speaker 1: the truth. She's not making up lies. She's not pretending that.
- 40:42Speaker 1: You know that. You know, she won't say anything that's
- 40:45Speaker 1: not true about you. She might get a little crazy,
- 40:48Speaker 1: but she doesn't, you know, make lies up.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Except yep, I thought your wife's awesome. Man, I'm pretty
- 40:54Speaker 2: good judge of character, but I thought I thought she's
- 40:58Speaker 2: a great girl.
- 40:59Speaker 1: She is is. I love her as well.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I like them both.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're very they're very famous on their podcasts.
- 41:06Speaker 1: They're really happy with themselves because you know, they're killing it.
- 41:14Speaker 2: I like what you guys did to turn it, you know,
- 41:16Speaker 2: with you guys. I like that as well.
- 41:26Speaker 3: By the way, John, with with with everything being so
- 41:29Speaker 3: divided with New Jersey and you know, everybody kind of
- 41:33Speaker 3: just do you if Rachel were to come back, I mean,
- 41:38Speaker 3: is she coming back? And if she gets the call
- 41:41Speaker 3: to come back, would you tell her not to or.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I'm gonna use Joe when you're already pregnant.
- 41:51Speaker 2: You're already pregnant, right, so we're already pregnant for the
- 41:53Speaker 2: most part. That's how he says it. But my thing is,
- 41:57Speaker 2: we're already in the water, just seep right. Yeah. I'm
- 42:02Speaker 2: not saying we wouldn't get out, and I'm not saying
- 42:04Speaker 2: that we would. We'd have to feel it out and
- 42:06Speaker 2: see what the rest of the circle looks like. And
- 42:09Speaker 2: you know, if you feel like you're going to be
- 42:11Speaker 2: in another toxic circle, then at some point you'd got
- 42:13Speaker 2: to walk away, right, you don't want to You're I'm
- 42:15Speaker 2: going to do something where it continues to affect you
- 42:18Speaker 2: in your career and stuff like that. If it's toxic, now,
- 42:21Speaker 2: if it makes sense and it's fun and there could be,
- 42:23Speaker 2: you know, something good that comes out of it and
- 42:25Speaker 2: people can have a good time, then yeah, it makes
- 42:27Speaker 2: sense to continue.
- 42:30Speaker 1: I like that answer, and I'll add to that. I
- 42:34Speaker 1: think it's you know, in reality in the real world,
- 42:38Speaker 1: if I find out that I'm in a circle of criminals,
- 42:42Speaker 1: I'm going to get out right. I don't want to
- 42:45Speaker 1: be around that, and not because I hold myself at
- 42:49Speaker 1: a higher standard, but because I don't want to risk
- 42:51Speaker 1: my family being surrounded by that, you know. And that's
- 42:55Speaker 1: one of the issues I have with reality TV is
- 42:58Speaker 1: they're glorifying all this illegal transactions and illegalities of reality TV. Right,
- 43:04Speaker 1: Why are they getting so much attention if they're doing
- 43:07Speaker 1: something illegal? It doesn't make any sense to me. So
- 43:11Speaker 1: my answer would be, you know, if we're going to
- 43:14Speaker 1: surround us with a bunch of criminals, I'm out. I
- 43:16Speaker 1: don't want anything to do with that. But because in real
- 43:18Speaker 1: life I would take my stuff out of that picture easily, right, right,
- 43:23Speaker 1: Like you gotta.
- 43:24Speaker 2: If you see that you got a bunch of criminals
- 43:26Speaker 2: around you, you have to evaluate at that point and
- 43:28Speaker 2: say this is not for me.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, unfortunately till you get there, you know,
- 43:34Speaker 2: you don't really know what is there season by season.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Right, I mean, I think to that point, if you
- 43:40Speaker 1: are hanging out with a bunch of kids and you
- 43:42Speaker 1: find out one kid you know is stealing and breaking
- 43:46Speaker 1: into cars and you're just there hanging with them, yeah,
- 43:49Speaker 1: you're you're guilty by association, but you learn as a
- 43:52Speaker 1: young kid, I want nothing to do with those people, right,
- 43:56Speaker 1: Because it.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Also looks like on you, it looks back because we're associated.
- 44:00Speaker 2: If you don't falk to somebody and you don't want
- 44:02Speaker 2: to mess with them, we're still associated. Yes, we're on
- 44:05Speaker 2: the same show, you know. Yeah, I hate it. Yeah,
- 44:10Speaker 2: I don't like it because it reflects on your character.
- 44:13Speaker 1: It does, it does, And you know, we spend at
- 44:15Speaker 1: least I know you guys too, We spend most of
- 44:17Speaker 1: our life being as good as a citizen and as
- 44:20Speaker 1: good a person as we can. You know, we're not perfect.
- 44:24Speaker 1: But we do what's right, and and that just has
- 44:28Speaker 1: kept me out of trouble. And I've not done anything
- 44:31Speaker 1: so drastically illegal. You know. God, I haven't got a
- 44:36Speaker 1: speeding ticket in a long time. But I'm gonna knock
- 44:37Speaker 1: on wood right right, you know, good at night, I
- 44:42Speaker 1: sleep very good at night. I don't screw anybody. I
- 44:45Speaker 1: don't steal from people. I you know, if I don't
- 44:48Speaker 1: like something, I just keep my mouth shut and stay
- 44:50Speaker 1: away from it, you know, unless unless it affects my
- 44:52Speaker 1: family and and you know, the people I love. It's
- 44:55Speaker 1: not my business and I'd rather stay out of it.
- 44:59Speaker 2: But and that's that's just a man in general. Right
- 45:02Speaker 2: when you start messing with your family and you start,
- 45:04Speaker 2: of course you're gonna piss them off. They're gonna wake
- 45:06Speaker 2: them up a little bit.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, So awesome question for you.
- 45:12Speaker 3: That's kind of out there. So just because the New
- 45:15Speaker 3: Jersey girls are a little intimidating, I think, is there
- 45:19Speaker 3: one in particular that you're like, I do not want
- 45:21Speaker 3: to get in a mess with that one?
- 45:24Speaker 2: Interesting question? Is there one that.
- 45:28Speaker 3: You're just like, Man, this one's too quick, too witted,
- 45:31Speaker 3: like too much wit. I don't even have a chance.
- 45:35Speaker 2: My wife. Yeah, my wife, good answer. My wife would
- 45:40Speaker 2: be the one. Other than that, that's it.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:43Speaker 2: So the Jersey girls you feel are intimidating. Man.
- 45:47Speaker 3: I've seen a little bit of them in action, and
- 45:48Speaker 3: I'm like, oh shit, man, I would not want to
- 45:51Speaker 3: get in an argument with one of those.
- 45:53Speaker 2: There you go. It's funny, man. Jersey is such an
- 45:56Speaker 2: interesting place, so is New York. But they're they're very catty,
- 46:00Speaker 2: that's for sure. Yeah, very caddy.
- 46:05Speaker 1: So, as we come to the end of the discussion here, John,
- 46:10Speaker 1: is there anything else you would like to tell the
- 46:12Speaker 1: listeners about yourself like that you don't want them to know.
- 46:16Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, obviously don't believe in what you're here.
- 46:18Speaker 2: That's just straight out ridiculous. Yeah. But yeah, listen, I
- 46:23Speaker 2: don't like to fight with women. I don't like to
- 46:25Speaker 2: do all that. I'm only in a position where I
- 46:27Speaker 2: have to defend myself and I did.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Other than that, I want not to do any any
- 46:31Speaker 2: of the other ones. You know, unless you attack my family,
- 46:34Speaker 2: I'm going to do what every man does. It's going
- 46:37Speaker 2: to be defend his family. Yeah, but and my children.
- 46:41Speaker 2: You know, I definitely don't think it's right that the
- 46:43Speaker 2: kids deal with stuff.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's totally low blow. I mean that's trash
- 46:48Speaker 1: when when women do that.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's not just women too, there's some guys
- 46:54Speaker 2: that do it as well. But just come on and
- 46:56Speaker 2: leave the kids out of it.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, yeah, it.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Is, it is so but on that's it, man. You know,
- 47:05Speaker 2: unless you guys have any questions for me. But I'm
- 47:08Speaker 2: an open book. I got nothing to hide, and most
- 47:10Speaker 2: of the viewers know. If there's something they want to know,
- 47:12Speaker 2: shoot me a message. I always answer everybody.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's awesome, and I do appreciate the transparency. There's
- 47:19Speaker 3: some questions that were probably hard to answer that you answered,
- 47:22Speaker 3: and man, it's been a pleasure having you on the show.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Congratulations on all the success and keep questioning it.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Thank you, Bettie, Thank you. Man. It's only hard if
- 47:31Speaker 2: you've got something to hide. Man, if you've got nothing,
- 47:33Speaker 2: I agree with life. It's easy, man. There's nothing hard
- 47:37Speaker 2: about any of that, you know.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Yeah, And to that point, I know that there's not
- 47:43Speaker 1: one person out there that doesn't have at least one
- 47:45Speaker 1: skeleton in the closet. But when you have a freaking
- 47:47Speaker 1: cemetery you should stay off reality TV shows.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll put, We'll put when you're hiring bloggers to
- 47:55Speaker 2: attack people and things like that, like yeah, yeah, you
- 47:59Speaker 2: got to say that there's some crazy people out there. Man.
- 48:02Speaker 2: Some of the things that I have witnessed in the
- 48:04Speaker 2: last year and a half on what was being done
- 48:07Speaker 2: behind the scenes to tarnish me and evidence improved, I'm
- 48:12Speaker 2: still like, whoa, I feel like I'm part of I
- 48:13Speaker 2: want to make a documentary. That's my next thing. I
- 48:16Speaker 2: want to film a documentary next.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Yeah you MANU will tune in?
- 48:21Speaker 2: Yeah right, probably right.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Well, maybe the house franchise will come up with the
- 48:29Speaker 1: Real House Husbands of New Jersey and the Real House
- 48:32Speaker 1: Husbands of Orange County and the Real House Husbands of
- 48:34Speaker 1: Beverly Hills, and we'll have our own show.
- 48:37Speaker 2: You would not believe how many viewers want to see
- 48:40Speaker 2: a Guys trip. Man. I get told all the time
- 48:43Speaker 2: I hear about it. I don't know why Bravo hasn't
- 48:45Speaker 2: done it. I mean, it's it's very apparent that they
- 48:47Speaker 2: want to see it, so I would just I mean,
- 48:50Speaker 2: it doesn't make any sense as a business not to say, hey,
- 48:52Speaker 2: let's go and do two or three days of film
- 48:54Speaker 2: and let's see how this does as a pilot. I
- 48:57Speaker 2: think it would make a lot of sense bringing a
- 48:59Speaker 2: lot of the guys from the franchises together and having fun.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, that could be fun. That could be a
- 49:04Speaker 1: lot of fun. But it goes back to my point.
- 49:07Speaker 1: You know, the Real House that's of Orange County. It's
- 49:09Speaker 1: really a woman's show, a female show. And you know,
- 49:12Speaker 1: I won't leave the gays out because it's a show
- 49:14Speaker 1: for them too. But most mature male, like business driven guys,
- 49:23Speaker 1: they don't sit and watch this show. You know, most
- 49:26Speaker 1: of the guys don't.
- 49:27Speaker 2: So you would think that I had the biggest biker
- 49:30Speaker 2: in ac come up to me a Hell's Angels. My
- 49:32Speaker 2: man was huge. Wow, And I'm like, you watch it? Yeah, man, yeah, yeah,
- 49:38Speaker 2: I love that shit.
- 49:40Speaker 3: The wives make them watch it.
- 49:42Speaker 2: You shocked, man, how many guys that actually watched the
- 49:46Speaker 2: show addicted?
- 49:48Speaker 3: Once you start watching it, like, you gotta be careful,
- 49:50Speaker 3: Like I always tell friends, like, I know, you want
- 49:52Speaker 3: to watch one episode, you're gonna get hooked on it.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's I do have had that experience John as well,
- 49:57Speaker 1: where Burley guys and and even you know in the beginning.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I told the story in the beginning of our podcast
- 50:03Speaker 1: as well. When we first started dating and we went
- 50:06Speaker 1: to watch What Happens in New York and we were
- 50:08Speaker 1: walking down the Broadway or something. A big fire truck
- 50:12Speaker 1: passed by and they noticed camera, and then they put
- 50:15Speaker 1: two and two together and they started going crazy, we
- 50:17Speaker 1: love Yeah, And I turned around and I'm like, the
- 50:21Speaker 1: Fireman watch you.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Reality check? Right? Yeah? Oh my god. I didn't realize that.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know, I personally can't sit and watch
- 50:31Speaker 1: all the cattiness and the fighting and all that. I
- 50:34Speaker 1: do find it interesting. It's quite a phenomenon that this
- 50:38Speaker 1: show has lasted this long. That's more intriguing to me, Like,
- 50:41Speaker 1: how did this show have such long longevity and duration?
- 50:45Speaker 1: And god knows how much money it's generated, you know
- 50:48Speaker 1: in the last what is it, almost twenty years. That's
- 50:52Speaker 1: more interesting to me than you know, who's fighting with
- 50:55Speaker 1: who and who's calling who out? And you know who's
- 50:58Speaker 1: the criminal this season? You know, it's just right.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Endless. Yeah, there's always been to be families, There's always
- 51:08Speaker 2: gonna be something.
- 51:09Speaker 1: So yeah, I get it. Always the stery to tell.
- 51:13Speaker 2: That's it, man, You know, there really is and I
- 51:16Speaker 2: think there's a lot of life left and off. You know,
- 51:19Speaker 2: as a photo family, we have a lot going on.
- 51:21Speaker 2: You know that they're missing unfortunately.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, So the show's on pause, right your show?
- 51:30Speaker 2: Yeah, pause or whatever they want to call it. Pause.
- 51:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:34Speaker 1: I only hear this through my wife because she tells
- 51:36Speaker 1: me a little bit what's going on over there. And
- 51:38Speaker 1: then I just saw Joe in New York and he
- 51:44Speaker 1: was telling me it's on pause. So well, you know,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I wish you guys luck. I hope the show comes
- 51:49Speaker 1: back because Jersey is one of the most entertaining, because
- 51:52Speaker 1: the guys and the girls are both entertaining, and I
- 51:57Speaker 1: think the viewers would be really lost if they didn't
- 51:59Speaker 1: have Jersey. So I hope you guys come back and
- 52:02Speaker 1: they clean up the show.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Agreed, Let's see Man from your Mouth and God's Ears,
- 52:07Speaker 2: Let's see what happens. John.
- 52:09Speaker 1: It was great catching up to you and having you
- 52:12Speaker 1: on the pod. It's been a pleasure. I look forward
- 52:15Speaker 1: to catching up next time I see you.
- 52:17Speaker 2: All right, guys, it was a pleasure being on. Let
- 52:19Speaker 2: me know if there's any questions you
- 52:20Speaker 1: Guys have after awesome awesome, I'll see you guys later
- 52:24Speaker 1: Thanks John, have a good one.
