- 0:34our federal workers. These many episodes are going to
- 0:37be about how to walk through and work.
- 0:39Through this furlough season. I see y'all and I want to make
- 0:43sure that I take some time to. Honor you.
- 0:45I know this uncertainty of this season can feel very heavy and I
- 0:51want you to know. That your.
- 0:52Faith, and that your purpose and your provision are still intact.
- 0:58Each day we're going to be drawn from Scripture to remind you the
- 1:01pauses and punches is preparation.
- 1:05So stay with me for six powerful moments of hope, healing, and.
- 1:09Faith. And even when the paycheck.
- 1:12Stops God. Doesn't has rise together in
- 1:16faith and thrive in perfect. Welcome to Faith in the
- 1:20Furlough, a series intended to bring encouragement,
- 1:23perspective, and peace during a season of uncertainty.
- 1:29I'm Doctor J Nicole, and if you've been impacted by the
- 1:32recent furloughs, I want you to know that you are not alone, and
- 1:35this pause does not define your purpose.
- 1:39Today, we're starting with the truth that grounds every
- 1:42episode. God is in control of leadership
- 1:46and seasons. Even when paychecks pause, God's
- 1:50provision does not. So today we're going to anchor
- 1:54this in Daniel 221. He changes times and seasons.
- 1:59He removes kings and sets up kings.
- 2:03He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have
- 2:07understand. OK, this verse reminds us that
- 2:11no administration, no political shift, no fault, no furlough
- 2:16catches God by surprise. Leaders rise and fall, economies
- 2:22they expand and contract. But God, the one who sets up the
- 2:26times in the seasons, He's the one.
- 2:30This includes your season. This includes the current
- 2:34season. So let's think back to biblical
- 2:38times with Nebuchadnezzar, the powerful king of Babylon.
- 2:43He thought that his reign and wealth were because of his own
- 2:46power, but God showed him that every throne and every season is
- 2:51under divine authority. Under God's authority.
- 2:55So now I know some of you are very frustrated, maybe even
- 2:59angry at the current administration and the decisions
- 3:03that led to these furloughs. And that's 100% valid, right?
- 3:08But here's what we learned from scripture.
- 3:11No leader has the final say. Not Nebuchadnezzar then and not
- 3:17any political figure now. This halls in your income does
- 3:23not come. This falls in your income does
- 3:28not falls. God's plan for your life.
- 3:34Just like Daniel and the Exiles, just like Daniels and the Exiles
- 3:39thrived in a foreign land, you can still thrive in a furlough.
- 3:43Remember, Babylon wasn't home and God still provided and this
- 3:48furlough, this is not your forever home either, OK?
- 3:53And so I want you to take a moment, breathe this in, OK?
- 4:00God is bigger than your paycheck, bigger than policy,
- 4:06bigger than politics. You may feel like you've lost
- 4:10control, but the same God who set the stars in the sky and the
- 4:15seasons in motion is watching over you.
- 4:19This is but a pause. This is not punishment.
- 4:23And sometimes God uses pauses to prepare us for promotion.
- 4:29And there's countless stories in the Bible that illustrate this,
- 4:32where it looked like someone went backwards before going
- 4:36forward. You know, we always think of the
- 4:37examples of Joseph, we think of the examples of David, we think
- 4:43about Queen Esther, how God will set people up and put them in
- 4:48higher places. OK, So in, in terms of a
- 4:52practical tip, while you're in this season, I want you to take
- 4:57inventory of what you have, not just money, but skills,
- 5:04relationships as well as time, right?
- 5:06So this pause is a time for reframing.
- 5:09This pause is a window of, of opportunity.
- 5:13Maybe this is a time where you're going to revamp your
- 5:16resume, you're going to start a business, or you're going to
- 5:19start a side project that you've been putting off.
- 5:21You're going to write that book. Or maybe this is really just an
- 5:25opportunity for divine rest and reset.
- 5:30David didn't just survive in Babylon.
- 5:33Oops, excuse me, Daniel didn't just survive in Babylon.
- 5:37He gained wisdom. He gained favor.
- 5:41He gained influence and you can do the same in this season.
- 5:47God is the same then as he is today.
- 5:52So, so as you face these days ahead, remember Daniel 221.
- 5:59God changes times and seasons and this season of furlough is
- 6:04temporary, but God's provision easy turn.
- 6:09And I hope you really and truly allow this to sink in.
- 6:13And I know the times are very difficult and the Bible is still
- 6:18the same and God cannot lie and you can always rest on His word.
- 6:24So pray with me. Please Lord, for every person
- 6:29impacted by this furlough, I ask for peace that passes
- 6:35understanding. Provide for every need.
- 6:39Remind them that their work is not tied to the paycheck but to
- 6:43your purpose. Father God, open the doors,
- 6:46release unexpected provision and help them to trust that you are
- 6:51in control of every season in Jesus name, Amen.
- 6:58If this episode encouraged you, please share it with someone
- 7:02else who's been impacted by these furloughs.
- 7:05And don't forget to subscribe because this is a series and
- 7:09we're walking through what it means to have faith in the
- 7:13furlough. Remember, this is just a pause.
- 7:16It's not the end of your purpose.
- 7:19I'll see you next time.
