- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh might hate it.
- 0:06Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five Wists stuck in and
- 0:11Speaker 2: they are will whizz.
- 0:12Speaker 1: So yeah, it's too bad. Blood, What did you expect?
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five Boys Souls.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Here we go blow it. Thank you, welcome. We'll talk
- 0:24Speaker 1: to Mark schlerett In a little bit, who I know
- 0:26Speaker 1: from ESPN, and then I follow him a lot on
- 0:29Speaker 1: social media. He's got the Stinking Truth podcast on YouTube.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Check it out. Glad to be here. And I must
- 0:34Speaker 1: start by saying, as I thought, Joe Milton sucks.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Joe Milton's so bad, so bad.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I just want to say, listen, I talked about this
- 0:45Speaker 1: two weeks ago. His highlight tapes are freaking awesome every
- 0:49Speaker 1: step of the way. Michigan, Tennessee, the Patriots, the Cowboys.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Cowboys trade a fourth rounder for him? Is it a
- 0:56Speaker 1: fourth round?
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 0:56Speaker 1: I believe may have going to trade Lance whatever is
- 0:59Speaker 1: something similar.
- 1:01Speaker 3: But and Jerry's saying, like, man, we got a good
- 1:04Speaker 3: one here, like seventy yard bombs.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Dude, he sucks pretty bad.
- 1:09Speaker 3: It's pretty bad, like preseason means nothing, right, but when
- 1:13Speaker 3: you see crap like that, it's so.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Bad, no touch, nothing, And again we don't have touch,
- 1:19Speaker 1: we don't have arms. We can't tell it harder, softer,
- 1:21Speaker 1: We don't just know that. But I warned everybody this
- 1:25Speaker 1: is gonna happen.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Duh.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And I'm glad he sucks right now because Dak doesn't
- 1:30Speaker 1: need that crap. And I'm not a Cowboys fan, but
- 1:32Speaker 1: Dak doesn't need everybody screaming aboutw good the backup quarterback
- 1:36Speaker 1: is correct because you didn't really worry about that. And
- 1:39Speaker 1: even though the Cowboys had a history of their excellent
- 1:42Speaker 1: backup winning a lot of games, he's met with the
- 1:45Speaker 1: Ravens now right, you know where he is, that the
- 1:47Speaker 1: A plus backup, not threatening the starter, but can win
- 1:50Speaker 1: some games when he comes in. It's what you want, dude,
- 1:53Speaker 1: Milton Sterri, I don't.
- 1:56Speaker 5: I mean Kevin said the same thing too, right.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Like, yeah, we saw it. Yeah, and people get all
- 2:00Speaker 6: excited with the Patriots. Yeah, the Patriots. You just hear
- 2:02Speaker 6: about it because you follow a team, obviously, and you
- 2:04Speaker 6: just hear his arm. He's up Lendisen, he does backflips.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Oh my goodness, Okay, every throw is bad. Just so,
- 2:13Speaker 6: did you watch him anything?
- 2:14Speaker 7: No?
- 2:15Speaker 5: I can't.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I can't watch him here, Like for some reason. Whenever
- 2:17Speaker 3: the Cowboys are playing preseason, I'm like, yes, I'm so excited.
- 2:20Speaker 5: NFL Network.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Then they end up showing like the Giants versus the Jets,
- 2:23Speaker 3: and I'm like, okay, I guess I'm not gonna watch
- 2:25Speaker 3: that till they show it tomorrow.
- 2:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But with TikTok, you can watch every snap. I watch
- 2:29Speaker 1: every snap of every player that I want to see. Really, yeah, everybody's.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Got oh you do you search it out or how
- 2:35Speaker 3: do you do that?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Okay, Like I've watched I watched every Dylan Gabriel snap,
- 2:39Speaker 1: watched every or snap from Week one. I watched I
- 2:43Speaker 1: watched your boy the Patriots, the tackle from l S.
- 2:45Speaker 9: Camble.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, well watch Will Campbell he played really both games. Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: he's gonna be a stude.
- 2:50Speaker 7: I know.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm excited he's gonna be a stude excited.
- 2:52Speaker 3: So yeah, you can watch anything. I guess if they
- 2:54Speaker 3: fed me yours, I didn't really want to see it. No, no, no,
- 2:58Speaker 3: Quinn youewers like.
- 2:59Speaker 1: For some reason, they in practice leading up to it
- 3:04Speaker 1: in camp. Great, they were like, he's he might be
- 3:06Speaker 1: the guy. He might be the guy that's playing to it.
- 3:08Speaker 1: He's really having a bad run.
- 3:10Speaker 9: Yeah, he doesn't look like he's having fun.
- 3:11Speaker 1: My favorite thing though of last week was Michael Penis Junior.
- 3:17Speaker 6: I saw your story and I didn't get it at first,
- 3:20Speaker 6: and then I saw him making it around and I
- 3:21Speaker 6: was like, oh, I didn't see them.
- 3:22Speaker 9: I didn't see that at verse.
- 3:23Speaker 1: All I wrote was the graphic heck of a press
- 3:26Speaker 1: conference the local affiliate in Atlanta, and obviously it was
- 3:30Speaker 1: auto correct. They wrote, Michael Penis Jr. When it's his,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you spell it p E n i X. Now. I'm
- 3:38Speaker 1: sure when you write that there's a little squiggly red
- 3:41Speaker 1: line underneath it that goes, you've misspelled this right. And
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'm sure they had to have some sort of meeting
- 3:47Speaker 1: going okay, cry o guy, graphic tiyes whatever it is. Yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you guys, you have to know and watch for this.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It's gonna spell Penis every time your pinnix. And so
- 4:02Speaker 1: I don't think it was anybody messing with anyone. I
- 4:04Speaker 1: think they just got auto corrected. And he's up there,
- 4:07Speaker 1: he's talking to the table and it says Michael Penis Junior.
- 4:11Speaker 1: So funny, and so I had listeners and I don't
- 4:14Speaker 1: expect everybody to know everything, and again I didn't even
- 4:16Speaker 1: point to the fact that what his real name was.
- 4:19Speaker 1: That it was a mess up. I just wrote a
- 4:20Speaker 1: heck of a press conference, and listeners were a message
- 4:22Speaker 1: of me like, man, if I had his last name,
- 4:24Speaker 1: I don't think I think I'd change it.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Yeah that's funny.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so big shout out to Michael Penis Junior. And
- 4:33Speaker 1: you know, he got that his whole life. And thank
- 4:35Speaker 1: god he was a great athlete, because imagine your name
- 4:37Speaker 1: being Poenix and being me, oh gosh, because it'd be
- 4:41Speaker 1: because panics. Right, you say his name Michael Penis, but
- 4:43Speaker 1: everybody's gonna call you Poenix when they read it. Absolutely,
- 4:45Speaker 1: they're call and roll the first time they're on the
- 4:48Speaker 1: Intercolm there, Michael Poenix, and everybody goes like Penis. And
- 4:53Speaker 1: if you're not a great athlete, you know you got
- 4:55Speaker 1: called Penis boy all the time. Heck, I got called that.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Now my last name's not even near penis, So I
- 5:01Speaker 1: thought that was pretty funny. We played some golf last week.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I played with my father in law, my brother in law,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and we went out for nine holes, just my father
- 5:11Speaker 1: in law and I, like on Saturday night. It was
- 5:14Speaker 1: pretty late, so with like six thirty. We go and
- 5:16Speaker 1: we played nine holes. He chipped in two balls from
- 5:19Speaker 1: over fifty yard two in the one round, and it's
- 5:22Speaker 1: he's a fine golfer, felt like us. And they chipped
- 5:25Speaker 1: in two from over forty fifty yards and nine holes.
- 5:29Speaker 1: By the way, everybody's mind was blown. His mind was blown.
- 5:31Speaker 1: It wasn't like a normal thing. But we're playing a
- 5:34Speaker 1: part three and I hit mine on the green probably
- 5:38Speaker 1: fifteen feet from it. I had door ain't a bogie
- 5:41Speaker 1: in the hole like an idiot. But he hits his
- 5:44Speaker 1: really short fifty yards in front of a trap to
- 5:48Speaker 1: the right, and so I'm like, all right, get a
- 5:50Speaker 1: couple of strokes here, and he boom right up, one
- 5:54Speaker 1: balanced boom right in the hole. Yeah, And I'm like, oh,
- 5:57Speaker 1: like got it, can't can't hate, can it be mad?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Like respect? I bog get the hole pissed, so whatever.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And I'm like, dude, we hardly ever get to anybody
- 6:07Speaker 1: chip in. We're like on whole seven sixty yards out,
- 6:11Speaker 1: hits a perfect flutter high ball lands and I'm like,
- 6:15Speaker 1: oh my god, that's going in again. You can tell
- 6:17Speaker 1: like seven feet out because it's already rolling perfect and again,
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm like, it was. It was amazing. It's amazing. So
- 6:24Speaker 1: I've never seen that before.
- 6:28Speaker 5: I've never done it.
- 6:29Speaker 1: No, I've only ever chipped in a few balls ever, never,
- 6:34Speaker 1: And it's so rare that when it happens, you're just like,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I don't believe.
- 6:38Speaker 9: That he did two wild he's Scotty Scheffler.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Oh man, what a shot. Yeah deep roof too. That
- 6:46Speaker 1: Scheffler shot was awesome.
- 6:48Speaker 9: But your father in law.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Way better because it never happened Scheffler did. It was like, yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 1: it's a Tuesday guy. So played golf. DJ is really good.
- 7:00Speaker 9: He's got a nice swing.
- 7:01Speaker 1: He's an athlete, he played college baseball, he's a college coach.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It's so annoying. I beat him the last time we
- 7:08Speaker 1: played before that, but he like crushed. I mean it
- 7:11Speaker 1: wasn't even close. We went and played at the It
- 7:13Speaker 1: was Monday, so my club was closed. It's the one
- 7:15Speaker 1: day it's closed, and so we went and played at
- 7:18Speaker 1: the opy Opry Mills as Gaylord yeah whatever it's called
- 7:22Speaker 1: over the Opery Gaylord Opery. Sorry, Eddy, I don't say
- 7:25Speaker 1: it right. I got something coming for you too. And
- 7:30Speaker 1: the course is nice, it's really nice. It costs. It's
- 7:33Speaker 1: pretty yeah, but it's really nice. They do a really
- 7:36Speaker 1: good job of keeping that course up, and it's public,
- 7:38Speaker 1: so we just jumped on it. But it's like one
- 7:39Speaker 1: hundred and fifteen bucks or something a person.
- 7:41Speaker 9: It's like any decent course nowadays. That's what it is.
- 7:44Speaker 5: That's expensive.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It's expensive to play golf.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Dude.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I'm asking a question.
- 7:48Speaker 5: What's up? Man?
- 7:48Speaker 1: And I gotta put my hater hat on because it's
- 7:52Speaker 1: gonna sound like I'm a hater, but you're not a hater.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I kind of am, but I'm only doing it because
- 7:57Speaker 1: one it's funny, and two I just got to know.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Go ahead, why are you posting all the stupid stuff
- 8:02Speaker 1: on Instagram? Now? Do you mean you're posting the stupidest
- 8:04Speaker 1: stuff on Instagram? Are you trying to be some sort
- 8:06Speaker 1: of weird influence? You were given a kid?
- 8:08Speaker 8: No?
- 8:08Speaker 1: No, and this is where it comes from. You were
- 8:10Speaker 1: giving Kevin krap because Kevin was posting your stuff's the
- 8:12Speaker 1: worst I've ever seen, the worst you've ever seen. You're
- 8:15Speaker 1: posted a picture of like the car line because I
- 8:20Speaker 1: really don't give a crap, But it's like all out
- 8:21Speaker 1: of nowhere, all of a sudden, Eddie's trying to be
- 8:23Speaker 1: this influencer and it's the weirdest, goofiest stuff. So I'd
- 8:28Speaker 1: like to bring up I like to share a few things.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And had you not gone at Kevin, I don't think
- 8:33Speaker 1: I would even thought about it.
- 8:34Speaker 5: Did you think the same thing, Kevin? Yeah?
- 8:36Speaker 9: Even my wife was like, why is Eddie all over
- 8:38Speaker 9: my feed?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Like so okay, he posted a picture of a lawnmower.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Do you just want stuff to exist on your feet? No?
- 8:46Speaker 3: No, no, we were talking about the lawnmower. It's stuff that
- 8:48Speaker 3: we've talked about on the show.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It's enough posted posted a lawnmower. The next one is
- 8:52Speaker 1: you drawing on a piece of paper, and it just
- 8:55Speaker 1: says the creative juices are flowing.
- 8:59Speaker 5: I was drawing, okay, stupid.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Next up, it's a picture of your kid's shoes.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just whatever I looked in my photo and like,
- 9:08Speaker 3: there's six pictures of that pretty cute I got.
- 9:10Speaker 1: The next is the car line.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Oh gosh, dude, that's car I was.
- 9:13Speaker 5: I was in that line for thirty minutes.
- 9:15Speaker 9: What else is like he's hanging out the window on
- 9:16Speaker 9: the next picture, right.
- 9:17Speaker 1: No, I was just like, yeah, The next is he's
- 9:20Speaker 1: telling a story to him writing a song with John Daily.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Yeah, that was cool.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And the next is a picture of a salad and
- 9:25Speaker 1: he's like, let me help you make the salad.
- 9:27Speaker 5: But you got to flip. I show you how to
- 9:29Speaker 5: make the salad.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I know, And you sell your total goober in this clip.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Uber.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Hey everybody, it's Eddy here.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Man. I'm a food you're not food person.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You can be and that's my first post. Now you're
- 9:39Speaker 1: going on it, Kevin, I would care nothing. You're being
- 9:42Speaker 1: the biggest hypocrite because this is goofy as crap and
- 9:45Speaker 1: out of nowhere.
- 9:46Speaker 5: It's not out of nowhere.
- 9:47Speaker 3: What's the reason I got an alert that so that
- 9:51Speaker 3: I can start making money.
- 9:56Speaker 5: I'm making cash now.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I totally understand and great, but.
- 10:00Speaker 3: It's gotten to the point where I'm like, I got
- 10:02Speaker 3: a post like I don't even know what to post.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Oh look at that a car line. This is terrible
- 10:06Speaker 5: post it.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yes, fully understand. However, you made fun of Kevin, and
- 10:10Speaker 1: so I just wanted to bring that back and show
- 10:12Speaker 1: you how that feels because it sucks.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Thank you well, Kevin. If you what else have you
- 10:15Speaker 3: been posting?
- 10:17Speaker 9: I know, I drink the milk. I posted that video.
- 10:19Speaker 9: People love that video.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I tried to your stuff well on your new view insights.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'll tell you exactly how much propose well, but.
- 10:27Speaker 5: It's always delayed.
- 10:28Speaker 3: So on average, every picture I've posted is about thirty
- 10:32Speaker 3: thirty five bucks.
- 10:32Speaker 5: No way, yes, way, dude.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Let me see your phone.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Yes, check it out. That's why I'm like, I need
- 10:38Speaker 5: a post every day. I can retire on this money.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Retire. Pull up your feet. I know how to get there.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I know, I don't. I don't, dude. There's nothing in
- 10:51Speaker 1: your phone that I would want to see. There will
- 10:53Speaker 1: only be some. No, I don't want this.
- 10:54Speaker 5: What do you mean that's the insights?
- 10:56Speaker 1: No, no, no, I'm going to each picture.
- 10:58Speaker 3: That salad actually looks great, Thank you, Brandon.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Okay, view insights on the salad Eddie made eight dollars.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, well, but that's that's because I just posted yesterday.
- 11:07Speaker 8: I hear you.
- 11:07Speaker 3: But I'm saying, on average, the life span of that picture,
- 11:10Speaker 3: it makes me about thirty bucks.
- 11:11Speaker 5: I hear you.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Let me take a look the second one here View
- 11:14Speaker 1: insights Eddie talking about the John daily ten dollars. No
- 11:17Speaker 1: go later, stop, I'm just going through it go stop. No, no, no, I.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Just posted that two days ago.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I hear you. Next up view Insights Eddie on
- 11:25Speaker 1: the car line.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Oh that's a good one.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Thirty dollars, but I guarantee you that John Daily and
- 11:32Speaker 3: the salad one. We'll get up to thirty.
- 11:33Speaker 5: You just need to give it.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Your kid's shoes twenty five dollars.
- 11:36Speaker 10: Heyy twenty five, Bucker runs Luke Bryan eleven dollars.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought I thought we'd give me more.
- 11:44Speaker 1: The creative juice is sixteen dollars. He's not making thirty
- 11:47Speaker 1: bucks a post. Guys, Yeah, nope, and I don't even care.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I think you trying to make money's great. No, look
- 11:52Speaker 1: at the other the other lawnmower, lawnmower twenty two dollars.
- 11:57Speaker 3: A lawnmower twenty two bucks. That's him the money.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Golf picture twenty dollars of Eddie and I come on
- 12:06Speaker 1: first day of school. This is from August.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I don't like sixteen dollars.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Sixteen dollars.
- 12:11Speaker 5: It's a weird feeling. My point is, give my phone back.
- 12:15Speaker 1: You're amplifying your money, I'm telling you, but I think
- 12:19Speaker 1: it's great. Make your money, make all the money you
- 12:21Speaker 1: can make, but don't make fun of Kevin. Whenever he's
- 12:23Speaker 1: trying something new, you're going to do it right after him.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Make sure a himpercred and.
- 12:28Speaker 9: At least mine's consistent content.
- 12:31Speaker 5: Whoa, I'm getting there? D salads, salad? Do you want?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Do you want a better social media advice?
- 12:38Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 12:39Speaker 1: Come on, pick a lane and stay in it.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I did with a salad.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Then then all your stuff should be salads. No, no, no,
- 12:49Speaker 1: you're talking. It's tossing salitudes.
- 12:53Speaker 8: There you go.
- 12:54Speaker 5: That's not what you're gonna say.
- 12:55Speaker 1: No, I was gonna say food. But then if you're
- 12:58Speaker 1: doing a lot of stuff that's not food really and
- 13:00Speaker 1: it gets fed to people that usually no pun intended,
- 13:02Speaker 1: and then it's fed to people in their feeds and
- 13:06Speaker 1: they're like, I don't I'm gonna pass on it. Then
- 13:08Speaker 1: they're not gonna feed them as much of the stuff
- 13:09Speaker 1: that they like. So that's why I do like most
- 13:11Speaker 1: of most of my stuff on Instagram is music. Most
- 13:15Speaker 1: is music. Every once in a while it's something that's
- 13:16Speaker 1: like never sports, because if I put on the sports
- 13:20Speaker 1: up and it goes up on my into my main feed.
- 13:22Speaker 1: The people that are usually getting the contry music stuff
- 13:24Speaker 1: and me to get some sports. They don't like it, Well,
- 13:25Speaker 1: my Interagram's not gonna feed them any more stuff because
- 13:27Speaker 1: they're like, oh, they don't like this stuff.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Be doing Okay, I understand, but you kind of get
- 13:31Speaker 3: in a little pickle there, Like what if you meet
- 13:33Speaker 3: Mark Grace and you want to put it on your.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Then I put it on my sports Instagram and tag
- 13:37Speaker 1: it through my stories.
- 13:39Speaker 5: So it's no longer just gonna go.
- 13:41Speaker 1: You can do whatever you want. Well, that's what I'm
- 13:42Speaker 1: just saying. If you want to make money as like
- 13:45Speaker 1: an influencer in a specific area, you got to be
- 13:47Speaker 1: consistent in that area.
- 13:49Speaker 5: So just salads like I can.
- 13:51Speaker 1: No, it doesn't matter what the just is. You don't
- 13:54Speaker 1: have to do it. I'm just giving you.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I don't have that many John Daily stories, so it can't
- 13:56Speaker 3: be that just John Daily get you that.
- 14:00Speaker 9: What would John Daily do?
- 14:02Speaker 3: That's tough though, dude, how do you think of like
- 14:04Speaker 3: every day posting something.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I've just been doing a lot of fun lists and
- 14:08Speaker 1: they they see, they crush, they crush with a bunch
- 14:11Speaker 1: of pictures. Luckily, I have you know, Brandon to help me.
- 14:14Speaker 3: You know, What I like mostly about your stuff is
- 14:16Speaker 3: the pictures that you dig up and post, you.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Know, to do the list. Oh thanks, I'm like, that's
- 14:22Speaker 5: kind of because some of them are old. I'm like
- 14:24Speaker 5: the pictures I haven't.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I gotta find like pictures Brandon to find a
- 14:27Speaker 1: good one. Me yesterday, I don't where'd you find this picture?
- 14:29Speaker 1: I made a bar or something.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Uh, you're shooting something?
- 14:32Speaker 1: Oh got it?
- 14:34Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 14:34Speaker 1: I thought you might have used AI or something like
- 14:36Speaker 1: Bobby's lean.
- 14:37Speaker 4: I use AI. That's what I did.
- 14:41Speaker 8: That.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That would be my suggestion to both of you. Have
- 14:44Speaker 1: new influencers.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Kevin, Kevin's got his lane. He's just Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 6: TikTok is strictly just the baby stuff, and my last
- 14:51Speaker 6: video got twenty one hundred views.
- 14:54Speaker 9: One before that was eight hundred.
- 14:55Speaker 1: TikTok to me is just music only and Instagram. I
- 15:01Speaker 1: will put some family stuff in there, but never sports,
- 15:04Speaker 1: because once I put something up that does not get
- 15:08Speaker 1: as good of engagement or likes, then they start they
- 15:11Speaker 1: feed it less. Right, So yeah, good.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Luck, Thank you man, Thanks for that.
- 15:16Speaker 9: Thanks for It's a lot of work.
- 15:17Speaker 5: It is a lot. I mean, it's not really a
- 15:19Speaker 5: lot of work. It's just a lot of.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Thinking, Yeah, that's work, thinking, Yeah, Like you know what
- 15:24Speaker 1: I do? I set a sidetime every day to do
- 15:26Speaker 1: these lists, and so so I'll work out every day,
- 15:30Speaker 1: four days a week, and then I go and I
- 15:32Speaker 1: get in the sauna for like twenty twenty five minutes,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and every day in the sauna. Ho's you think that's
- 15:36Speaker 1: where I do? I have set aside. I'm gonna do mine.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Like you want to hear the list I'm going up today. Yes,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I already have it done, haven't posted. By the time
- 15:43Speaker 1: this is I'll probably posted it. But I have my
- 15:45Speaker 1: favorite toms of all time.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Well that's fun.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It's top ten toms, Brady. Okay, Well hold on, well,
- 15:51Speaker 1: let me let me get out.
- 15:52Speaker 5: We're playing a game.
- 15:53Speaker 1: We are. We gotta get hold on, get it up,
- 15:55Speaker 1: let me get it up here.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Picture Bobby and the sauna.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Let's see se I already have them all made with pictures,
- 16:00Speaker 1: so it's all made. I'm just gonna push submit. Okay.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Top ten toms of all time Kevin.
- 16:06Speaker 9: Tom green Oh.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I didn't put Tom green Oh for sure that I
- 16:11Speaker 1: forget some Sometimes there are some music ones where a
- 16:13Speaker 1: listener will be like this one and I'm like, oh
- 16:16Speaker 1: I missed it.
- 16:18Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I'll also say this two things. One, whenever you post
- 16:22Speaker 1: your salads, yeah salads, Yeah, always ask a question like
- 16:27Speaker 1: what did I miss or what can I do better?
- 16:28Speaker 1: People love giving advice, and what that does is it
- 16:30Speaker 1: creates engagement.
- 16:31Speaker 9: The comments are always a good thing, right.
- 16:33Speaker 1: The comments are good because then it feeds it out
- 16:35Speaker 1: to more people.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Yeah, like, okay, so do you do that when you
- 16:37Speaker 5: post it?
- 16:38Speaker 1: You can do it?
- 16:38Speaker 5: Or do you do it in a comment?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Both? I do it sometimes on the picture sometimes under
- 16:43Speaker 1: okay Tom Green, I probably I probably missed that, but
- 16:46Speaker 1: I did Top ten Toms, go ahead, Tom Green. Not
- 16:48Speaker 1: on the list. Eddie Brady, Okay, Tom Brady comes in
- 16:52Speaker 1: at number.
- 16:55Speaker 8: Three.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Pretty good, go ahead.
- 16:57Speaker 1: You're still up. Tom Hanks, Yeah, Hanks comes in at
- 17:01Speaker 1: number five.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Tom Tom DeLong m hm, so I was.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Thinking Tom DeLong from blank one eighty two.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Come on, he's on the list.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Comes in at number eight, and I'll say this. Part
- 17:24Speaker 1: of his appeal to me is the UFO investigating Oh
- 17:27Speaker 1: of course Tom DeLong blink wanted to front man turn
- 17:29Speaker 1: UFO investigator.
- 17:31Speaker 5: Thomas Edison Edison.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Thomas Edson Edison, the light bulb. Guy, Uh, did you
- 17:37Speaker 1: know he did not invent the light bulb? Actually, yes,
- 17:39Speaker 1: he just made it better. Okay, Thomas Edison learning so much?
- 17:44Speaker 1: Thomas Edison at number four. Wow, held one thy ninety
- 17:48Speaker 1: three patents in his lifetime, still one of the highest
- 17:51Speaker 1: totals ever. Wow, you're killing the Tom list?
- 17:53Speaker 5: Did I say, Hanks?
- 17:54Speaker 8: You did? Lord?
- 18:00Speaker 1: My manager? Tom laws one shout out Brandon Tom Landry,
- 18:09Speaker 1: No chance. I eliminated him because I got it down
- 18:11Speaker 1: to like fifteen. He made he would have been honorable
- 18:14Speaker 1: mention but didn't make top ten. Wow. Yeah, I did
- 18:16Speaker 1: have it, and I wrote about his fedora, but I
- 18:18Speaker 1: didn't put him on the top ten.
- 18:20Speaker 11: Casey, I'm going to go Tom Cruise.
- 18:22Speaker 5: That's a good one.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Tom Cruise at number ten. I wrote weird, dude, but
- 18:32Speaker 1: some of the greatest action movies ever.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Yeah, that's it. So weird?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Okay, you keep going?
- 18:39Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 18:39Speaker 11: How many Toms do I know?
- 18:40Speaker 5: Man?
- 18:41Speaker 1: He says, it's like his neighbor there are still one
- 18:44Speaker 1: two five left?
- 18:47Speaker 11: Tom Hardy actor got cut off.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Ronald Winchin all right, like jiu Jitsu expert to like
- 18:53Speaker 1: fighter like really does yeah?
- 18:55Speaker 9: Kevin Tom Petty.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Oh, that's so good.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Number one, possibly the greatest American rock star. Tom Petty,
- 19:06Speaker 1: Number one Tom of all time. Number two.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Here I'm out, Grady Tom Tom.
- 19:17Speaker 1: This is the last round. We'll go around here.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Oh got one?
- 19:23Speaker 4: I think I got one too.
- 19:25Speaker 1: That's Tim.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Yeah, all Eddie, give me Tom Selleck from Magnum p
- 19:31Speaker 3: I Baby.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Tom Selleck mustache Hawaiian shirts, Magnum p I number seven.
- 19:37Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 1: I used to watch Magnum p I only because it
- 19:40Speaker 1: came on before w CW Wrestling on TVs has a
- 19:43Speaker 1: great show, soul watch Tom. I would watch Magnum p
- 19:46Speaker 1: I Into Wrestling Higgins, Higgins.
- 19:50Speaker 5: And his buddy who flew the helicopter?
- 19:53Speaker 8: Uh?
- 19:53Speaker 3: Tom Dang, I don't know an another Tom Man Oh
- 19:59Speaker 3: Tom a cat from Tom and Jerry.
- 20:02Speaker 1: There's three left. Tom Cat did not make it.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Brandon, Tommy DeVito their quarterback.
- 20:07Speaker 5: Yeah, get out of here. Uh Tommy Lee Jones.
- 20:14Speaker 1: No, So okay. At number two, I'll tell you the
- 20:20Speaker 1: description that I wrote. Come on, okay, nicest guy ever.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Longtime host of two television shows. One of the shows
- 20:29Speaker 1: was America's Funniest Videos.
- 20:31Speaker 8: Oh.
- 20:31Speaker 1: One of the shows was Dancing with the Stars.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Tom and number two.
- 20:36Speaker 5: Dude, he was a nice guy.
- 20:37Speaker 1: He's the greatest. He was nice to me, so nice
- 20:39Speaker 1: on Dancing with the Stars. I put him at number two.
- 20:41Speaker 5: What's he doing now?
- 20:42Speaker 1: I don't know being to you said what he was
- 20:45Speaker 1: a nice guy?
- 20:46Speaker 3: Well, because I met him at Dancing with the Stars.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I mean it made you made it seem like he
- 20:50Speaker 4: was not.
- 20:51Speaker 5: No, he's still with us.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Okay, how about this one country artist?
- 20:59Speaker 5: Oh got it?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Thomas RTT Correct, Number nine, Thomas tr And then we
- 21:06Speaker 1: have number six, And I think Kevin, you'd be the
- 21:10Speaker 1: only one that wouldn't get this one.
- 21:12Speaker 9: Oh, come out, But.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I think the other three would get it. I think
- 21:16Speaker 1: because the case is a musician brand as a musician,
- 21:19Speaker 1: and Eddie likes music.
- 21:20Speaker 5: That's rude.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Guitar wizard Eddie, Eddie tom Morello.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Correct, you know who that is?
- 21:33Speaker 5: Kevin?
- 21:34Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 21:34Speaker 6: Yeah, only because only because recently I saw a clip
- 21:40Speaker 6: of him playing on t r L. He was like
- 21:41Speaker 6: doing something with Carson Daily and it was sick. But
- 21:44Speaker 6: that's the only reason.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Like last week, hey wink, Okay, Mark Seleareth, We're gonna
- 21:51Speaker 1: take a break, come back and talk to Mark Schlare
- 21:53Speaker 1: from I know from ESPN, but also from his podcast
- 21:56Speaker 1: on YouTube. Now talk with him next. Let's get over
- 22:05Speaker 1: now to our talk with three times Super Bowl champion
- 22:07Speaker 1: Mark Schlareth. Mark won a Super Bowl with the Redskins
- 22:09Speaker 1: in the early nineties, won some Super Bowls with the
- 22:11Speaker 1: Broncos in the late nineties. Grew up in Alaska, which
- 22:14Speaker 1: we will talk about, and check out his The Stinking
- 22:17Speaker 1: Truth podcast on YouTube. We get into that as well.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm a big Mark Claret fan. I'll watch his stuff
- 22:23Speaker 1: and I don't know super cool. So here he is.
- 22:26Speaker 1: This is Mark Schlereth. Hey, Mark, thanks for the time, man.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Good to talk to you.
- 22:31Speaker 8: My pleasure, man, my pleasure. Good to talk to you
- 22:33Speaker 8: as well.
- 22:34Speaker 1: The only state I haven't been to is Alaska. Just
- 22:36Speaker 1: throw all the touring I've done, I've been everywhere. I've
- 22:38Speaker 1: not been to Alaska. Mostly I get real dehydrated on planes.
- 22:42Speaker 1: So it's like when it comes to vacation, I just
- 22:44Speaker 1: haven't made the trip up there. Although it does seem
- 22:46Speaker 1: awesome you grew up there. Is it daylight most of
- 22:49Speaker 1: the time and then nighttime most of the time. And
- 22:52Speaker 1: if so, like, how weird is that to play football?
- 22:54Speaker 8: Yeah? It is that.
- 22:55Speaker 7: It is that way, Like the summertime, I mean, it's
- 22:57Speaker 7: you know, twenty hours of daylight or whatever it is,
- 23:00Speaker 7: and the further north you go, the more daylight you've got.
- 23:02Speaker 8: So one of the cool things.
- 23:03Speaker 7: And I always wanted to like, I don't know if
- 23:06Speaker 7: you documentary is the right word or right term for it.
- 23:09Speaker 7: But they play this land this midnight sun tournament and
- 23:14Speaker 7: the games it's baseball, and it's Alaska Minor League baseball
- 23:17Speaker 7: or Summer League baseball, I guess, one of the great
- 23:19Speaker 7: summer leagues back in the day in the seventies, you know,
- 23:22Speaker 7: the Cape Cod League took over. But they start a
- 23:25Speaker 7: game first pitch with no lights at eleven PM, and
- 23:28Speaker 7: it's just a really like it's a really cool up
- 23:31Speaker 7: in Fairbanks.
- 23:31Speaker 8: They do that. So yeah, and then the winter time
- 23:34Speaker 8: is just you know, it's just dark.
- 23:35Speaker 7: You wake up, you go to school, you walk to
- 23:37Speaker 7: the bus stop, it's pitch blackout. You get home, and
- 23:40Speaker 7: we used to run from the bus, you know, they
- 23:42Speaker 7: drop you off at the at the corner, you know,
- 23:45Speaker 7: and we'd run to the house, you know, to play
- 23:48Speaker 7: like football because you had like twenty two minutes of
- 23:51Speaker 7: daylight left before it got black again. So, but when
- 23:55Speaker 7: you grow up, that way just is the way it is,
- 23:57Speaker 7: so you don't know any different. And then you know,
- 24:00Speaker 7: people always ask me, would you go back to Alaska?
- 24:02Speaker 7: And I'm like, hell no, I love it and I
- 24:04Speaker 7: go visit. We were just up there last week visiting
- 24:07Speaker 7: my father for his eighty six birthday. But what I
- 24:10Speaker 7: want to live there anymore? No, Like I like the
- 24:13Speaker 7: four seasons. I like all the difference.
- 24:16Speaker 1: What was the football culture like in high school in Alaska?
- 24:20Speaker 8: Yeah, you know what I mean, Bobby.
- 24:23Speaker 7: We played like seven games, you know, and by the
- 24:26Speaker 7: end of October, the snows about the fall and it's
- 24:29Speaker 7: really cold out and there's not a lot of competition.
- 24:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 24:33Speaker 7: It's really interesting. I had two scholarship offers coming out
- 24:36Speaker 7: of Hawaii. Both the schools came up for a summer camp,
- 24:39Speaker 7: and I was you know, I was obviously a gifted athlete, right,
- 24:41Speaker 7: so I could run and jump and do all those things,
- 24:44Speaker 7: and I was I was big. But you know, most
- 24:46Speaker 7: of the time people recruited me as a linebacker, a
- 24:48Speaker 7: tight end type of thing. Even in the professional leagues,
- 24:51Speaker 7: I got worked out as a tight end a bunch,
- 24:53Speaker 7: So it was just one of those situations where I
- 24:58Speaker 7: had two scholarship offers, one was to Idaho and one
- 25:01Speaker 7: was to Hawaii. And you know, for me, it was like, man,
- 25:05Speaker 7: I'm gonna go to Idaho because at least that snow's there,
- 25:09Speaker 7: and like I can't wake up to three hundred days
- 25:11Speaker 7: of sunshine or three hundred and fifty days of sunshine,
- 25:14Speaker 7: you know it just.
- 25:15Speaker 8: Like that would drive me crazy.
- 25:16Speaker 7: And so yeah, for me, that was kind of a
- 25:20Speaker 7: big the culture of just growing up in Alaska. I
- 25:23Speaker 7: wanted to I definitely wanted to kind of recreate that.
- 25:27Speaker 7: The other thing for me was I didn't know if
- 25:29Speaker 7: I was any good. Like I knew I was good
- 25:31Speaker 7: in Alaska, but I knew that there are not many
- 25:34Speaker 7: six foot three, two hundred and twenty pound guys that
- 25:36Speaker 7: can run like you know, run like I could, right
- 25:39Speaker 7: So from a competition standpoint, I just didn't know if
- 25:42Speaker 7: I was good enough to go out to a big
- 25:44Speaker 7: school or walk on to you know, at the time,
- 25:46Speaker 7: it was a Pac ten school and play. So you know,
- 25:49Speaker 7: I made the choice to go somewhere where I thought
- 25:51Speaker 7: I could play right away, and it worked out great.
- 25:55Speaker 1: When you got to Idaho to play ball, how long
- 25:57Speaker 1: until you realized you actually could play ball.
- 26:00Speaker 7: Pretty much right off the bat, even though I red shirted.
- 26:05Speaker 7: You know, just I knew that I could play. I
- 26:07Speaker 7: knew athletically that I was gifted right, and so I
- 26:13Speaker 7: knew that that part was okay.
- 26:17Speaker 8: And then it just became you know, I switched from
- 26:19Speaker 8: the offensive side of the ball. I got recruited to
- 26:21Speaker 8: play center.
- 26:21Speaker 7: Then I switched to defense just because I could run
- 26:24Speaker 7: and I could jump and I could do all those things.
- 26:26Speaker 7: So I ended up playing three years of defense. Then
- 26:28Speaker 7: I was just so injured all the time that, as
- 26:30Speaker 7: a matter of fact, I switched back to offense my
- 26:33Speaker 7: junior year about midway through.
- 26:35Speaker 8: Played a couple of games.
- 26:38Speaker 7: I ended up dislocating my elbow and having I have
- 26:40Speaker 7: surgery on my elbow, and the university actually retired me
- 26:43Speaker 7: from football.
- 26:44Speaker 8: So I was done.
- 26:46Speaker 7: And basically, you know, at twenty one years old or
- 26:49Speaker 7: whatever I was, you heal, and I started badgering them
- 26:53Speaker 7: to let me play my senior year. Came back my
- 26:55Speaker 7: senior year, played a position i'd never played, to play guard,
- 26:58Speaker 7: and ended up playing really well, you know, for the
- 27:01Speaker 7: entirety of the season. And then I got drafted. Well
- 27:04Speaker 7: I got drafted, was I showed up? This is a
- 27:06Speaker 7: great story. Marvin Washington was a teammate of mine who
- 27:11Speaker 7: was a.
- 27:11Speaker 8: College basketball player.
- 27:12Speaker 7: Came to the universy ido had fourteen sacks in one
- 27:15Speaker 7: season and was a highly touted defensive end.
- 27:19Speaker 8: And he called me up.
- 27:21Speaker 7: I had no agent, I had been retired from football.
- 27:24Speaker 7: I played one year on the offensive side of the football,
- 27:27Speaker 7: and one night Marvin called me up and said, hey, man,
- 27:29Speaker 7: the Bengals are coming to work me out tomorrow. Why
- 27:31Speaker 7: don't you show up and crash my workout? And so
- 27:33Speaker 7: I crashed his workout and absolutely whipped his ass and
- 27:36Speaker 7: everything forty times vertical jump, you know, the bench press,
- 27:39Speaker 7: that's the whole thing.
- 27:40Speaker 8: And it put me on the radar.
- 27:42Speaker 7: And you know, normally you would think that that would
- 27:45Speaker 7: probably be the last invite I got to Marvin's workouts.
- 27:47Speaker 7: He probably invited me eight more times to his workouts,
- 27:51Speaker 7: and I kept showing up, and I kept whipping his ass,
- 27:53Speaker 7: and he kept inviting me, and then eventually teams just
- 27:56Speaker 7: came to work me out. And so I don't play
- 27:59Speaker 7: it down in the end, NFL, if it's not for
- 28:00Speaker 7: my teammate Marvin Washington. But the cool thing Bobby for
- 28:04Speaker 7: me was I'm playing for Denver and we win a
- 28:08Speaker 7: world championship in nineteen ninety seven ninety eight Super Bowl
- 28:11Speaker 7: ninety seven season, we beat the Green Bay Packers thirty
- 28:14Speaker 7: one twenty four, win the championship, and I'm in the
- 28:18Speaker 7: training room where I spent most of my career after
- 28:21Speaker 7: the game. This is a month or so afterwards free agency,
- 28:25Speaker 7: and Mike Shanahan comes down to me and goes, hey, listen, man,
- 28:27Speaker 7: we're looking for a rotational defensive lineman, like a guy
- 28:30Speaker 7: that could play inside outside.
- 28:32Speaker 8: Just a guy that fits. Sick guy.
- 28:34Speaker 7: I didn't have to be the best guy, but it
- 28:36Speaker 7: just has to fit our culture. Guy that's going to work,
- 28:38Speaker 7: guy that's going to be part of our team. Here's
- 28:40Speaker 7: a list of about eight guys I have. Just tell me
- 28:43Speaker 7: who I should sign. Go all right, give it to me.
- 28:45Speaker 8: I look at it.
- 28:46Speaker 7: First name, I see Marvin Washington. I said, sign him,
- 28:49Speaker 7: and so Mike goes, okay, done, walked upstairs. Signed Marvin Washington,
- 28:54Speaker 7: and so we win the Super Bowl thirty three together
- 28:57Speaker 7: as teammates. So I don't play it down in the NFL.
- 29:00Speaker 7: It's not for my teammate Marvin Washington. Marvin Washington doesn't
- 29:03Speaker 7: win a world championship if it's not for me. So
- 29:06Speaker 7: it's just one of those things. You know, you're so
- 29:08Speaker 7: connected as teammates and players. So one of the reasons
- 29:11Speaker 7: I feel bad for the NCAA right now with the
- 29:14Speaker 7: nil where guys just become mercenaries. You don't have or develop,
- 29:18Speaker 7: or have a chance to develop those kind of relationships
- 29:21Speaker 7: that last a lifetime.
- 29:22Speaker 1: You know, you bring up playing for the Broncos, and
- 29:24Speaker 1: I got a couple of things I want to talk
- 29:25Speaker 1: about here, but you're on one of those silent offensive lines.
- 29:28Speaker 1: You guys don't talk to the media right, correct, And
- 29:31Speaker 1: so is the just the juxtaposition of what you did.
- 29:34Speaker 1: They're not talking and then now you talk at a
- 29:37Speaker 1: high level a lot. Do you think you would have
- 29:40Speaker 1: been a pretty outspoken lineman, but the rules where you
- 29:42Speaker 1: just couldn't.
- 29:43Speaker 8: Talk, probably not.
- 29:44Speaker 7: I didn't really speak a whole lot back then, Like
- 29:46Speaker 7: I saved it all up so I could spit it
- 29:49Speaker 7: all out now. But you know the interesting thing about
- 29:52Speaker 7: playing that position, it's like this secret mushroom society. Nobody
- 29:56Speaker 7: knows what we're doing except us, and so like when
- 29:59Speaker 7: you don't talk. It made it one of those situations
- 30:01Speaker 7: where everybody wanted to talk to you as soon as
- 30:03Speaker 7: that band was lifted. You know, you went to a
- 30:05Speaker 7: super Bowl and you had to talk otherwise the league
- 30:08Speaker 7: find you. Nobody really was that interested in talk to
- 30:11Speaker 7: us anyhow. It was like one five minute interview and
- 30:13Speaker 7: they go, Okay, now we're done, because nobody really understands
- 30:16Speaker 7: what's going on up front. Nobody really understands that position.
- 30:20Speaker 7: So and you know, I always tell people because they
- 30:22Speaker 7: go and you're kind of a hypocrite because you didn't
- 30:24Speaker 7: speak and now you speak for a living. I was like,
- 30:27Speaker 7: I spoke to those guys all the time. Adam Schefter
- 30:29Speaker 7: used to cover us as a beat reporter.
- 30:31Speaker 8: You know.
- 30:31Speaker 7: Now he's just the I mean, he's the Grand Pooba
- 30:34Speaker 7: of all things information, right.
- 30:36Speaker 8: But Adam and I talked every day.
- 30:38Speaker 7: He was a good buddy of mine, and a lot
- 30:39Speaker 7: of guys in the media were good buddies of mine.
- 30:41Speaker 7: It was just always off the record, like you can't
- 30:44Speaker 7: quote me, but and so we had that relationship with
- 30:47Speaker 7: a lot of guys. It was just, yeah, it's just
- 30:49Speaker 7: an interesting time, and we did it more out of
- 30:51Speaker 7: fun and to bind us together. And you know, it
- 30:55Speaker 7: was always funny because guys we try like I remember
- 30:58Speaker 7: Tommy Nalan played center for US and we went to
- 31:01Speaker 7: New England and he snuck out of locker room after
- 31:04Speaker 7: a game we beat the New England Patriots and he
- 31:07Speaker 7: was from Foxboro, Massachusetts, where the New England Patriots you know, play,
- 31:11Speaker 7: and so we snuck out and talked to one of
- 31:12Speaker 7: his local reporters and somebody sent the article I mean
- 31:16Speaker 7: we had back then.
- 31:17Speaker 8: It was a paper newspaper article.
- 31:19Speaker 7: It wasn't on the internet, so they clipped it and
- 31:22Speaker 7: sent it to us and sent it to somebody within
- 31:25Speaker 7: the mail I think it was our offensive line coach,
- 31:27Speaker 7: and then he brought it in his evidence so that
- 31:29Speaker 7: we could find Tommy Nale in a bunch of money
- 31:31Speaker 7: for speaking to the local media. So you know, it
- 31:33Speaker 7: was a game for us, and it was just one
- 31:35Speaker 7: of those things to keep yourself entertained.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Tenth round pick Now we don't have ten rounds now
- 31:40Speaker 1: we have seven, So I don't know in the tenth
- 31:43Speaker 1: round what day is that they what happened was that
- 31:46Speaker 1: three four days? They do it all on one day
- 31:47Speaker 1: back then?
- 31:48Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, it was like three days, and you know,
- 31:52Speaker 7: and I knew it was interesting because there's a great
- 31:55Speaker 7: offensive line coach in the league named Jim McNally and
- 31:58Speaker 7: he came out with Sinnati Bengals to work me out
- 32:01Speaker 7: a couple of times. And that guy was calling me
- 32:04Speaker 7: from the first round on. So he called me every
- 32:08Speaker 7: like every single round, like I'm standing on the table
- 32:11Speaker 7: for you in the second round, like you are gonna
- 32:13Speaker 7: be a great player in this league, and you know,
- 32:15Speaker 7: and he gave me a lot of confidence in me.
- 32:16Speaker 7: He called me every like, literally every single round. And
- 32:20Speaker 7: then finally the ninth round came around, he goes, I
- 32:24Speaker 7: think I'm gonna get you. I think I'm gonna get you,
- 32:26Speaker 7: and they didn't. They took somebody else, another offensive lineman
- 32:29Speaker 7: to play tackle. And then he calls me and he
- 32:32Speaker 7: is just livid. He's so pissed off. And he calls
- 32:35Speaker 7: me right before the tenth round. He goes, hey, man,
- 32:37Speaker 7: I've got you. I'm gonna get you in this round.
- 32:40Speaker 7: So my phone rings and it's uh, I just thought,
- 32:44Speaker 7: you know, it was the Bengals, and so I pick
- 32:46Speaker 7: up and it's the it's the Washington Redskins and they
- 32:49Speaker 7: took me two sixty three, and I know, I think
- 32:52Speaker 7: Cincinnati had to pick a couple of picks later or
- 32:55Speaker 7: whatever where they were gonna take me. But UH ended
- 32:57Speaker 7: up going to the Redskins, which just was such blessing
- 33:00Speaker 7: because you know, it's interesting how you get coached the
- 33:04Speaker 7: guys who coached you. I just I just this weekend,
- 33:07Speaker 7: I was at a celebration of life ceremony for my
- 33:11Speaker 7: college coach, Dan Cazetto, who passed away a couple of
- 33:13Speaker 7: weeks ago. It was one of the great people, but
- 33:16Speaker 7: a great not a good coach, a great coach. And
- 33:19Speaker 7: then I went to Washington where I was coached by
- 33:21Speaker 7: Joe Bugle, who to me is a Hall of Fame
- 33:24Speaker 7: NFL coach, and then Jim Hannafin, also kind of a
- 33:27Speaker 7: Hall of Fame offensive line you know.
- 33:30Speaker 8: Assistant coach.
- 33:30Speaker 7: And then I went to Alex Gibbs, the godfather of
- 33:33Speaker 7: the zone running game, who is a Hall of Famer
- 33:35Speaker 7: at that level as well, and played with guys played
- 33:38Speaker 7: in Washington with a hog.
- 33:40Speaker 8: So I walked into a situation as.
- 33:42Speaker 7: A tenth rounder where I was just I was invested
- 33:45Speaker 7: in right. I was like, these guys just poured into
- 33:48Speaker 7: me from a coaching staff standpoint and a player standpoint
- 33:52Speaker 7: where I just learned the game at a higher level
- 33:55Speaker 7: because I was around guys who were great, great coaches.
- 33:58Speaker 7: And I tell you what, it made such a difference
- 34:01Speaker 7: in your career. You look back on it go wow,
- 34:03Speaker 7: how blessed and how thankful I am to go there,
- 34:05Speaker 7: and and you know, the places I got to play with,
- 34:08Speaker 7: the people that I got.
- 34:09Speaker 8: To play who were real You know, I always.
- 34:11Speaker 7: Say, just because you're a professional athlete doesn't make your
- 34:13Speaker 7: professional right. Like I played for and played with a
- 34:19Speaker 7: bunch of professional football players and professional coaches, and it
- 34:23Speaker 7: made a huge difference in my life.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Is it hard not to talk about the toxic players
- 34:28Speaker 1: that you know are toxic because you like, It's like
- 34:31Speaker 1: in music, I have friends that do music and have
- 34:33Speaker 1: friends that are athletes, and like, I know stuff. It's
- 34:35Speaker 1: hard to talk about being fully transparent because I know
- 34:38Speaker 1: they kind of suck. Like there's some really famous people
- 34:40Speaker 1: that kind of suck, and so yeah, it's tough to
- 34:43Speaker 1: not just go, yeah, this person sucks. Whenever you know
- 34:46Speaker 1: there's something toxic happening in the locker room, to not go, like,
- 34:48Speaker 1: this person kind of a terrible professional.
- 34:51Speaker 7: Yeah, that and that's hard because you can't win with
- 34:54Speaker 7: those guys. And you know, I mean it like it's
- 34:58Speaker 7: to me, it's about, especially in a team sport, it's
- 35:01Speaker 7: about what are you willing to do for everybody else?
- 35:03Speaker 7: How are you willing to be sacrificial in your approach
- 35:07Speaker 7: to the game. How are you willing to put others
- 35:09Speaker 7: ahead of yourself? Because that, to me is you know, that,
- 35:12Speaker 7: to me is what leadership. That to me is what
- 35:14Speaker 7: culture looks like. And culture is one of those things
- 35:16Speaker 7: that everybody talks about, but if it's not lived every
- 35:20Speaker 7: single day, preached every single day, and worked on every
- 35:22Speaker 7: single day, then it just falls apart. And the interesting
- 35:27Speaker 7: thing about an NFL locker room, you know, it's fifty
- 35:29Speaker 7: three guys on your active roster. And one of the
- 35:33Speaker 7: really interesting things, and I don't know why this is,
- 35:35Speaker 7: but you can have the majority of your guys as
- 35:38Speaker 7: real professionals, right attention to detail, work, study, prepare all
- 35:43Speaker 7: those things, and their gravitational pull is not nearly that
- 35:48Speaker 7: of having a couple of turds on your team. You
- 35:51Speaker 7: have a couple of turds on your team, and their
- 35:53Speaker 7: gravitational pull. Their orbit is so much stronger than all
- 35:58Speaker 7: the professionals.
- 35:58Speaker 8: And I don't understand why that is. It just is.
- 36:02Speaker 7: And so you have got to do such a great
- 36:04Speaker 7: job as an organization of understanding that. And I think
- 36:07Speaker 7: one of the things that happens to a lot of
- 36:08Speaker 7: coaches and a lot of organizations, they all feel like,
- 36:11Speaker 7: you know, they're all ego driven to the point of saying, yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 7: but under my expert tutelage, this guy's not gonna be
- 36:17Speaker 7: a turd. This guy's gonna be a good dude, and
- 36:19Speaker 7: he's gonna work hard, you know, because his athletic gifts
- 36:23Speaker 7: are so supreme. And the bottom line, Bobby, is I
- 36:26Speaker 7: don't care how great an athlete you are, if you're
- 36:29Speaker 7: a garbage human, you are a detriment to the success
- 36:32Speaker 7: of that team. And so you've just got to understand
- 36:35Speaker 7: and you've got to be able to pull the trigger
- 36:36Speaker 7: on those guys and get rid of them. And it's
- 36:39Speaker 7: really hard to do when you see a dude that
- 36:41Speaker 7: just is so gifted.
- 36:42Speaker 8: And there are a lot of those guys that are.
- 36:44Speaker 7: So incredibly gifted, but if they're just not good guys,
- 36:48Speaker 7: they're just not professionals.
- 36:49Speaker 8: Many will they will destroy your team.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Don't you find it hard? Because I watch your watch
- 36:55Speaker 1: on TikTok, like A follow a lot of what you do.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Don't you find it hard though, to be somebody who
- 36:59Speaker 1: has the voice that you have and is known for
- 37:01Speaker 1: a lot of your authentic feelings and emotions on things
- 37:05Speaker 1: to now. I actually just say who the turds are
- 37:06Speaker 1: whenever a team isn't performing, to be like, yeah, you
- 37:08Speaker 1: know what, this person kind of sucks and it's probably
- 37:10Speaker 1: holding them back.
- 37:11Speaker 8: Yeah, that's that's hard.
- 37:13Speaker 7: But one of the things I always try to do,
- 37:15Speaker 7: you know, whether it's broadcasting, whether it's doing you know,
- 37:18Speaker 7: my podcast, or whether it's doing a game or whatever.
- 37:21Speaker 7: I love football, man, it you know, to quote up,
- 37:25Speaker 7: I love the Alarm in the eighties, you know the
- 37:27Speaker 7: Welsh band, and they have a line in one of
- 37:30Speaker 7: their songs it's the life blood that courses through my veins,
- 37:33Speaker 7: and it resonates with me because football has been the
- 37:35Speaker 7: life blood that courses through my veins.
- 37:37Speaker 8: Man. I love football, So I love to celebrate football.
- 37:40Speaker 7: I love to celebrate as opposed to going, well, that
- 37:42Speaker 7: guy's a turd and that guy got beat. I love
- 37:45Speaker 7: to celebrate the guy who beat him, right. I love
- 37:47Speaker 7: to celebrate the excitement and all those things. So yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 7: it's hard sometimes because you know, you have inside information
- 37:53Speaker 7: on a guy that you just know why, you know,
- 37:56Speaker 7: especially when the fans are on you and like, oh man,
- 37:59Speaker 7: you're you know, you're not giving this guy the credit,
- 38:02Speaker 7: or you're bitter or whatever it is, and you know
- 38:04Speaker 7: the inside scoop of why that guy moves or bounces
- 38:08Speaker 7: around or why you know teams have just grown sick
- 38:11Speaker 7: of his crap. So but I tend to just try
- 38:15Speaker 7: to leave that stuff behind. Sometimes I get caught up
- 38:17Speaker 7: a little bit, like we all do, we're all human.
- 38:20Speaker 7: But for the most part, I just try to celebrate
- 38:22Speaker 7: the things I love about football.
- 38:24Speaker 1: You're in good shape compared to like alignment in game shape.
- 38:30Speaker 1: And I was watching any Given Saturday, which is the
- 38:32Speaker 1: Netflix show about the SEC. I'm big SEC guy and
- 38:35Speaker 1: the liney're talking about they just got to eat all
- 38:37Speaker 1: the time, and it's just unhealthy stuff. They just got
- 38:38Speaker 1: to put on masks. And any of the people that
- 38:40Speaker 1: I know that were lignemen are skinnier now. However, any
- 38:44Speaker 1: of my friends that played quarterback or played skill position,
- 38:47Speaker 1: they put on thirty to forty pounds almost immediately. Did
- 38:50Speaker 1: you find when you left the league you lost weight?
- 38:52Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 38:52Speaker 7: I did, I and it was intentional, you know. I
- 38:55Speaker 7: mean I was just like I fought my whole career
- 38:59Speaker 7: to be heavy, and that was a it was a
- 39:02Speaker 7: lifelong just you know, gorging myself on a consistent basis
- 39:08Speaker 7: to remain heavy enough. I used to have a limit,
- 39:11Speaker 7: my limit. My limit was actually I couldn't weigh less
- 39:14Speaker 7: than you know, a certain amount. So my deal, where
- 39:18Speaker 7: most guys have a limit on the top, my limit
- 39:20Speaker 7: was on the bottom because I had a tendency to.
- 39:22Speaker 8: Get underneath my limit.
- 39:24Speaker 7: And so you know, you'd weigh in every Thursday, and
- 39:27Speaker 7: if you weren't, if I wasn't above to eighty five, man,
- 39:30Speaker 7: it was one hundred dollars a pound, and you know,
- 39:33Speaker 7: and I it was just one of those things that
- 39:35Speaker 7: that's the way we used to do it. And you know,
- 39:38Speaker 7: so I my weight was somewhere between. I usually weighed
- 39:41Speaker 7: about two eighty eight to two ninety four somewhere in there.
- 39:45Speaker 7: And I had to fight constantly to keep that on.
- 39:48Speaker 7: So as soon as as soon as I got done
- 39:51Speaker 7: playing man, I dropped to two thirty like it was nothing.
- 39:54Speaker 8: It was easy. Now it's not as easy anymore.
- 39:57Speaker 7: I stepped on the scale the other day at two
- 39:58Speaker 7: seventy and I was like, oh, shoot, none of my
- 40:00Speaker 7: suits are gonna fit.
- 40:01Speaker 8: So I'm on this. Uh, I'm on this.
- 40:03Speaker 7: I went from two seventy to seventy point I think
- 40:07Speaker 7: it was two seventy points six pounds or seven pounds
- 40:10Speaker 7: on Monday to two fifty nine point three pounds on Saturday.
- 40:15Speaker 7: And uh, and I am on a I am on
- 40:18Speaker 7: a mission to get to about two forty right now,
- 40:21Speaker 7: which I do every year. It's like I get lazy
- 40:23Speaker 7: and just start eating and whatever, and then the next thing,
- 40:25Speaker 7: I know, I mean I could, I could be you know,
- 40:27Speaker 7: two ninety in a heartbeat.
- 40:29Speaker 8: So it's one of those things you got to work on.
- 40:31Speaker 7: But you're right, most of the offensive linemen, most of
- 40:35Speaker 7: them enjoy like getting away from that lifestyle, exercising and
- 40:41Speaker 7: losing the weight.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I want to ask you one more personal questions. I
- 40:43Speaker 1: want to ask it just a few NFL questions, but uh, personally,
- 40:46Speaker 1: what does anything still hurt on you?
- 40:49Speaker 8: Oh? Everything?
- 40:49Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I had I had twenty nine surgery
- 40:51Speaker 7: was when I was playing. I had twenty knee surgeries,
- 40:54Speaker 7: I had back surgeries, I had seven elbow surgeries. I
- 40:58Speaker 7: had a kidney surgery where I literally got wheeled into surgery.
- 41:03Speaker 7: Sunday night at eleven PM, checked myself out of the hospital.
- 41:08Speaker 7: Monday morning at eleven drove to the stadium and played
- 41:12Speaker 7: the Raiders in a Monday night game and we beat
- 41:14Speaker 7: them twenty seven to nothing. And the things you do
- 41:17Speaker 7: to yourself, there's no sane person on earth that would
- 41:21Speaker 7: do those things right.
- 41:22Speaker 8: And there's no sane doctor on earth that would allow
- 41:25Speaker 8: you to do those things.
- 41:26Speaker 7: But it's the NFL, and there's just a different standard
- 41:30Speaker 7: when it comes to playing, and you have to be willing.
- 41:33Speaker 7: You know, people talk about, oh, you can't play, you know,
- 41:36Speaker 7: you can't play injured, or you got to play. You
- 41:38Speaker 7: gotta play injured you want.
- 41:40Speaker 8: To keep your job.
- 41:41Speaker 7: You've got to be willing to do things that other
- 41:43Speaker 7: guys just aren't willing to do. And if you don't
- 41:45Speaker 7: play injured, and more importantly than playing injured, you got
- 41:48Speaker 7: to play well injured. And so like, I had an
- 41:52Speaker 7: ability during the course of my career to be like
- 41:56Speaker 7: not like almost not being able to walk on a
- 41:58Speaker 7: Saturday and going out in somebody's ass on Sunday, and
- 42:01Speaker 7: and that was that was a challenge, and it was
- 42:05Speaker 7: one of those challenges that I accepted and you know,
- 42:08Speaker 7: and reveledon like that was I was proud of my
- 42:11Speaker 7: ability to play well injured and just go out there
- 42:14Speaker 7: and do what I had to do and sacrifice, make
- 42:18Speaker 7: that sacrifice for my teammates. So, yeah, do my knees hurt, Sure,
- 42:21Speaker 7: does my back hurt? Absolutely? Do my elbows hurt?
- 42:23Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 42:24Speaker 8: To my shoulder shirt, uh huh.
- 42:25Speaker 7: But one of the things that you have to understand
- 42:28Speaker 7: is that I've known nothing but pain from the time
- 42:31Speaker 7: it was eighteen years old. So you put my body
- 42:35Speaker 7: on somebody else, it's my age and they're checking themselves
- 42:38Speaker 7: into the hospital. To me, it's just the way it is,
- 42:41Speaker 7: just the way my body is, Like it's I've grown
- 42:43Speaker 7: accustomed to it. I'm used to having pain and it
- 42:47Speaker 7: doesn't affect me, I think like most people do, because
- 42:49Speaker 7: it's all I've known. Like it's all I've known since
- 42:52Speaker 7: I was eighteen. Like sleeping through the night, I don't
- 42:55Speaker 7: know what that feels like. I haven't done that. I
- 42:58Speaker 7: can't do that. I wake up all the time because
- 43:00Speaker 7: something hurts and it's just the way it is. And
- 43:02Speaker 7: so I don't whine about it or complain about it.
- 43:05Speaker 7: I don't worry about it. You know, people are all like, oh,
- 43:08Speaker 7: what about the concussion issues. I don't give a crap,
- 43:11Speaker 7: Like I'm doing fine if if that that that happens,
- 43:14Speaker 7: you know, if if you know CTE or whatever I
- 43:18Speaker 7: do happen. TO believe that your body's got unbelievable ability
- 43:21Speaker 7: to recuperate, right, I believe that you have enough plasticity
- 43:25Speaker 7: and enough connectivity in your brain that if you're constantly
- 43:27Speaker 7: using it and you're working, and you're doing those things,
- 43:30Speaker 7: I mean, I think you'll overcome some of the issues
- 43:34Speaker 7: that you've done to yourself, just like you have with health.
- 43:36Speaker 7: And I watch a bunch of guys that I know
- 43:39Speaker 7: play myself. You know, I don't use drugs, I don't
- 43:42Speaker 7: use alcohol. I don't use that stuff.
- 43:44Speaker 8: So I think it.
- 43:44Speaker 7: You know, I exercise, I do all those things. I eat, right,
- 43:48Speaker 7: So I think all those things, all those things kind
- 43:51Speaker 7: of manifest to good health, even brain health and all
- 43:54Speaker 7: those things. So like I just don't sit around and going,
- 43:57Speaker 7: oh woe is me? I'm not a victim. I don't
- 43:59Speaker 7: worry about it. I would do it all over again.
- 44:02Speaker 7: And and I don't make excuses for the NFL. I
- 44:05Speaker 7: don't like, you know, people always talk about safety in
- 44:08Speaker 7: this We signed up for it, most of us, almost
- 44:11Speaker 7: all of us, would do it again. And some of
- 44:13Speaker 7: the best men I know, some of the greatest fathers,
- 44:16Speaker 7: some of the greatest leaders, some of the greatest you know,
- 44:18Speaker 7: spiritual advisors that I know, played in the NFL.
- 44:22Speaker 8: And so I don't I just get to.
- 44:24Speaker 7: The point where I like a lot of times people
- 44:28Speaker 7: just want to go, oh, football concussions equals you know,
- 44:31Speaker 7: freak out and ruin your life or you know, or
- 44:34Speaker 7: or do something dramatic to your family.
- 44:37Speaker 8: I don't buy into that.
- 44:38Speaker 7: They don't study the effects of depression.
- 44:42Speaker 8: You know, what is your identity?
- 44:44Speaker 7: When you have an identity as a football player, and
- 44:45Speaker 7: it gets taken away from you, like anything in life like,
- 44:48Speaker 7: that's hard to deal with. And so if you put
- 44:51Speaker 7: your identity in what you do for a living, when
- 44:53Speaker 7: it gets taken away from you, and it will, you
- 44:55Speaker 7: will get pink slipped, outsourced, you will get you know,
- 44:58Speaker 7: a cut of supple land, whatever the case may be.
- 45:02Speaker 7: If your identity is in that, then you're gonna suffer
- 45:05Speaker 7: some depression. How does depression affect your brain and all
- 45:07Speaker 7: those different things.
- 45:08Speaker 8: So I'm just not a victim. I like, hey, man,
- 45:11Speaker 8: it happens. It works.
- 45:12Speaker 7: You know, I had a TV show on Fox that
- 45:15Speaker 7: just got dumped. You know, I just got fired. So
- 45:18Speaker 7: what I'm in New York packing up my apartment. That's life. Man,
- 45:21Speaker 7: It happens, and so we move on, we try to
- 45:24Speaker 7: figure out what's next.
- 45:25Speaker 1: All right, let me ask you one football question.
- 45:27Speaker 8: I have.
- 45:27Speaker 1: I keep this Bronco helmet on my desk.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Here.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I got a bow next signed Bronco helmet. Pretty slick, yeah,
- 45:31Speaker 1: pretty shiny. You think they can win the AFC West?
- 45:35Speaker 7: Oh yeah, hey man, they're an outstanding football team. So
- 45:40Speaker 7: I was at their scrimmages on Thursday with the Arizona Cardinals.
- 45:43Speaker 7: So I reached out to a couple of guys I know,
- 45:45Speaker 7: a bunch of guys on the staff of the Arizona
- 45:47Speaker 7: Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Pensing. I asked him about him
- 45:50Speaker 7: and goes, man, this defense is unbelievable. You're not running
- 45:53Speaker 7: the ball on the Denver Broncos. They can shut down
- 45:55Speaker 7: the run make you one dimensional. So that's a really
- 45:58Speaker 7: good place to be in their defensive back field, you know,
- 46:01Speaker 7: with Patsertan, with Riley Moss, with Bear and the kid
- 46:05Speaker 7: they just drafted in the first round with McMillan.
- 46:08Speaker 8: I mean, they're they're legit.
- 46:10Speaker 7: So they've got a really good chance to be great
- 46:13Speaker 7: on the defensive side. And then I'm talking to Jonathan Gannon,
- 46:15Speaker 7: who's their head coach, former defensive cord in the league,
- 46:18Speaker 7: and I was like, hey, man, just offensively bo Knicks
- 46:21Speaker 7: like bo Nicks, you know, because last year there was
- 46:23Speaker 7: a lot of narrative out there that the defense led them.
- 46:25Speaker 7: They never beat, you know, a good to I think
- 46:27Speaker 7: they beat one team with a winning record. So it
- 46:30Speaker 7: was more like, hey, bo Knicks was getting drug along
- 46:33Speaker 7: by the defense. So I said to Jonathan Gannon, what
- 46:35Speaker 7: do you think bo Knicks Just Bo Nicks. Forget about
- 46:37Speaker 7: the defense. He said, bon Nicks will lead this team
- 46:40Speaker 7: to the playoffs. Like that's how good bon Nicks is
- 46:44Speaker 7: in year number two. So they're deep, they're excited. Talk
- 46:48Speaker 7: to Sean Payton a bunch about them, and I tell
- 46:52Speaker 7: you what, man, they've got the right culture. They've gotten
- 46:54Speaker 7: read of a bunch of guys that just didn't fit
- 46:57Speaker 7: what they were trying to build. That were good football players,
- 46:59Speaker 7: just not the right guys. And I think they've got
- 47:02Speaker 7: a really great feeling about who they have involved in
- 47:04Speaker 7: their football team.
- 47:05Speaker 8: Right now.
- 47:06Speaker 1: We were talking about before you came on The Stinking Truth,
- 47:08Speaker 1: which is your show, and now that football season is back,
- 47:13Speaker 1: thank god. Do you find it's just easier to do
- 47:15Speaker 1: a show now than trying to figure out what to
- 47:16Speaker 1: talk about?
- 47:17Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, there's so many I mean, the NFL
- 47:20Speaker 7: is a gift to keep song given it. You know,
- 47:22Speaker 7: there's always They've done a great job of making it
- 47:25Speaker 7: relevant three sixty five, you know, and so there's always
- 47:29Speaker 7: things to talk about. But now when you get into
- 47:32Speaker 7: you know, trying to create on YouTube your podcast, you know,
- 47:36Speaker 7: and I've just done it is kind of fun. But
- 47:38Speaker 7: now I look at it like, hey man, this could
- 47:40Speaker 7: be the next thing that you know, you actually make
- 47:42Speaker 7: a living doing. And so, you know, some of the
- 47:45Speaker 7: breakdown stuff and getting in depth and creating benchmark segments
- 47:50Speaker 7: and some of those things educating people have this desire
- 47:54Speaker 7: I find to actually know about football like the general public.
- 47:58Speaker 8: It's really interesting.
- 47:59Speaker 7: You're broad asking a game, and you know, I speak
- 48:02Speaker 7: football language, so I'll say things and my producer will
- 48:05Speaker 7: get my ear going. Nobody in America knows what that means.
- 48:08Speaker 7: And I'm like, what do you what are you talking about? Like,
- 48:09Speaker 7: you know, everybody knows you can't help kick a four eye.
- 48:12Speaker 5: I don't even know what a four eye is.
- 48:13Speaker 8: You know. The producer says, like, what do you mean
- 48:15Speaker 8: to know what a four I is? You don't speak English, No,
- 48:18Speaker 8: you're speaking Japanese.
- 48:19Speaker 7: So, you know, to be able to educate a fan
- 48:22Speaker 7: base and to still have fun and be entertaining, but
- 48:25Speaker 7: still really bring football to life for people, I think
- 48:28Speaker 7: that's what.
- 48:29Speaker 8: You know.
- 48:29Speaker 7: I've looked at this opportunity to say, hey man, I've
- 48:31Speaker 7: got to take this from something that I just doink
- 48:33Speaker 7: around with on the Stink of Truth podcast on YouTube
- 48:36Speaker 7: and make it something that's that's you know, more more
- 48:40Speaker 7: appealing to a vast majority of people, and something that
- 48:42Speaker 7: you can, you know, chew on and digest and learn
- 48:46Speaker 7: why you're having fun and being entertained. So that's what
- 48:48Speaker 7: I'm going to try to do. I don't know that
- 48:50Speaker 7: I'll do it well, but you know what, I'll give
- 48:53Speaker 7: it a shot you.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Guys check out. We were talking about it earlier, but
- 48:56Speaker 1: the Stinking Truth podcast with Mark Mark, I'm a big fan.
- 48:59Speaker 1: It's super cool to have on. I know you got
- 49:00Speaker 1: a busy day today and now the football's back, it's
- 49:02Speaker 1: extra busy. But thanks for spending some time with us.
- 49:05Speaker 1: And I'll keep following. And I don't know, I'm betting
- 49:09Speaker 1: on the Broncos. Can I even say that to you?
- 49:11Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 49:11Speaker 7: You could, Okay, yeah you could say, Hey, man, put
- 49:13Speaker 7: what's the what is the what's the number?
- 49:16Speaker 8: Put?
- 49:16Speaker 7: Go on the over? Pound the over, man, pound the over.
- 49:18Speaker 7: That's what I'm telling you. It is a pleasure, Bobby.
- 49:21Speaker 7: Anytime you need me to break anything down across the league,
- 49:24Speaker 7: you just reach out.
- 49:25Speaker 8: Don't hesitate.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Appreciate you, Mark, have a great day.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Hey.
- 49:34Speaker 1: So we talked about this on the show and Brandon
- 49:37Speaker 1: was paid forty bucks.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Forty bucks?
- 49:40Speaker 1: Was that what it was? That's it to write this
- 49:42Speaker 1: song for the Cubs, Except he was just paid forty
- 49:44Speaker 1: bucks for every song that he wrote, and they just
- 49:46Speaker 1: picked that up and it was it was played where.
- 49:49Speaker 13: It's played the two thousand and seven WGN before every
- 49:53Speaker 13: Cubs game that year, and then they started playing it
- 49:56Speaker 13: when a Cubs player would hit a home run.
- 49:58Speaker 1: And how much you get paid for it?
- 50:00Speaker 4: Forty bucks?
- 50:01Speaker 1: Not every time, No, you got paid one time.
- 50:05Speaker 4: And I didn't write it.
- 50:06Speaker 13: I was just I was hired as a singer and
- 50:09Speaker 13: they were like, yeah, we're pitching this to WGN, and
- 50:12Speaker 13: you know who knows if it'll get picked up.
- 50:15Speaker 1: And so you would sing stuff they would send you.
- 50:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I would go into this.
- 50:19Speaker 13: I would go into the studio and sing like, you know,
- 50:21Speaker 13: ten jingles.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Four hundred bucks a day.
- 50:25Speaker 4: I mean it was like once every three months.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's four hundred bucks every three months. Yeah,
- 50:30Speaker 1: that's tough job. We have a part of the song.
- 50:34Speaker 13: Yeah, So I went through all my emails and I
- 50:37Speaker 13: could only find it.
- 50:39Speaker 4: It's like the intro of the song.
- 50:41Speaker 13: You can you can you get a pretty good idea
- 50:43Speaker 13: of the corniness of it.
- 50:45Speaker 1: And they played this for many times and a lot
- 50:47Speaker 1: of places, and he made Mike, you have it, give
- 50:51Speaker 1: it my friends.
- 51:09Speaker 12: What happens, Yeah, we'll.
- 51:12Speaker 13: Go to.
- 51:17Speaker 5: Man, I want more.
- 51:18Speaker 1: This is a year. What's a little bit at the end? Okay?
- 51:27Speaker 1: And it was not it was it was it rarely
- 51:32Speaker 1: was I think because I'm a Cubs fan. I watch
- 51:34Speaker 1: if not a little bit of all the games, most
- 51:38Speaker 1: a little bit of all the games. And the Brewers
- 51:40Speaker 1: don't lose. They lost last night finally, less think of
- 51:42Speaker 1: two nights ago they didn't lose. They won like fourteen
- 51:44Speaker 1: in a row. The Cubs are like seventeen over five hundred,
- 51:47Speaker 1: maybe sixteen or seventeen over five hundred, and they're they're
- 51:50Speaker 1: like the wild They're like eight games back.
- 51:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I have the Brewers crazy.
- 51:54Speaker 1: It's crazy. The Brewers aren't losing. I don't even hate
- 51:56Speaker 1: the Brewers because they're a small market team.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Are they the rival?
- 52:00Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 52:01Speaker 5: St?
- 52:02Speaker 1: Louis, But I mean they're not the rival boocause Saint
- 52:04Speaker 1: louis Is. But also, we just paid their manager a
- 52:07Speaker 1: bunch of money to come counsel, to come manage the couple,
- 52:11Speaker 1: and he's doing a great job. But the Brewers are
- 52:13Speaker 1: killing it right now. So Brandon, play the song warm
- 52:17Speaker 1: you know, Casey, I see, did you write a song?
- 52:23Speaker 11: I wrote a song?
- 52:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 52:24Speaker 5: Or what for the Jets for? You know? Okay, what's
- 52:27Speaker 5: happening here? Yeah? I did it for.
- 52:32Speaker 11: Fun, but I thought, you know, we could play it.
- 52:33Speaker 5: It's the same thing.
- 52:37Speaker 1: So you didn't know the Brandon thing.
- 52:39Speaker 11: I did not know crazy because he was even here
- 52:41Speaker 11: to God.
- 52:42Speaker 1: But he sees the clips, but he edits the clips.
- 52:46Speaker 5: He's always here.
- 52:49Speaker 1: Okay, So you wrote this song completely unrelated to us
- 52:52Speaker 1: talking about Brandon writing fort.
- 52:55Speaker 10: Yes, when this is just about, you know, the pain
- 52:57Speaker 10: and the suffering that I've endured as a Jet fan
- 53:00Speaker 10: for the last fourteen years, that I wrote.
- 53:01Speaker 5: A song about it.
- 53:01Speaker 1: And what's your goal with this song?
- 53:03Speaker 10: Uh, just to hopefully give a little motivation of the team,
- 53:07Speaker 10: you know, just in fields, this is our year.
- 53:09Speaker 1: This is when you say that though that's the cults,
- 53:12Speaker 1: this is oe. He got to go on the field
- 53:16Speaker 1: and do that with the whole like choir, with the
- 53:18Speaker 1: whole case. You guys don't see the Colts guy.
- 53:23Speaker 5: No, no, I think you're talking about.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys don't watch I don't know sports we do.
- 53:30Speaker 5: What are you talking about?
- 53:31Speaker 1: Okay, thet he's done it for all last season. The
- 53:35Speaker 1: cheerleader showed up his house. This is our year. This
- 53:38Speaker 1: is our team. The Coult singer, the kids, the guy
- 53:41Speaker 1: at home who is terrible singer. No, he's gone viral
- 53:45Speaker 1: multen No, No, I haven't. Okay, so let me play
- 53:47Speaker 1: Casey's and then I'll come back to that. Get TikTok up?
- 53:52Speaker 1: How long is it?
- 53:53Speaker 4: Mis a minute and a half?
- 53:54Speaker 1: We're not can play a minute and half of it?
- 53:55Speaker 1: I can posit throughout or whenever you want me to.
- 53:57Speaker 1: But okay, I haven't heard this.
- 53:59Speaker 5: Let's get through the second verse.
- 54:00Speaker 1: At least I will see TV. All right, go ahead.
- 54:04Speaker 12: For the longest time, Jets have none made the playoffs
- 54:09Speaker 12: in some time, fourteen years.
- 54:16Speaker 5: It's such a crime.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Will this shit be the same?
- 54:23Speaker 12: Can we reach the playoffs?
- 54:25Speaker 14: Sadshine, we haven't been there for the long time.
- 54:35Speaker 8: I've seen a lot.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Of shites hit in my fandom.
- 54:38Speaker 14: But fumble cooked, dolt Coats had a peanut scandal thanks
- 54:42Speaker 14: fire like feet living in bell really like tis weed
- 54:48Speaker 14: and Aaron Rogers flew out his akidding.
- 54:59Speaker 8: Name.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it sounds like a real song from like the
- 55:03Speaker 1: sixties yea beach Boys?
- 55:06Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, the Casey can sing?
- 55:08Speaker 1: Yeah? Did you not know that?
- 55:09Speaker 5: I mean not like, I mean I didn't know he
- 55:11Speaker 5: could sing that?
- 55:11Speaker 3: Well, he's really good.
- 55:14Speaker 1: This guy cannot I'm gonna play you.
- 55:16Speaker 5: I'm gonna good man.
- 55:17Speaker 1: But this has gone so viral, so many times. It
- 55:20Speaker 1: does it every week this.
- 55:24Speaker 8: Week, please.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I'll get hold on.
- 55:28Speaker 8: That's so good.
- 55:35Speaker 5: This is our cuts.
- 55:36Speaker 8: This is our tea weekly. This is our cuts with
- 55:42Speaker 8: the winner lose. We being the giants.
- 55:50Speaker 5: They might be giants, but for ninety.
- 55:52Speaker 1: This is our team.
- 55:54Speaker 9: Go cold.
- 56:00Speaker 1: It's like his own little microphone at his house and look,
- 56:02Speaker 1: it ain't good, but it's gone viral so many times.
- 56:04Speaker 1: And then the cheerleader showed up at his house to
- 56:06Speaker 1: do it with him, and then he did this on
- 56:07Speaker 1: the field last week. They've embraced him, which is awesome.
- 56:15Speaker 5: It is cool, good for him. So is that what
- 56:17Speaker 5: Casey's looking forward?
- 56:19Speaker 1: What if Casey doesn't know that's what people think of that?
- 56:21Speaker 9: Or like, Casey, if they invited you out, would you
- 56:26Speaker 9: sing it?
- 56:26Speaker 5: Absolutely?
- 56:27Speaker 1: I don't think they'll be inviting you out now, the
- 56:30Speaker 1: coked out coach part probably not. You know, he's right enough, Mike.
- 56:34Speaker 1: I think we're good.
- 56:35Speaker 5: Yeah, we're good, all right.
- 56:36Speaker 1: Thanks to Mark Schlare, thanks to Brandon. I feel like
- 56:40Speaker 1: give him another forty bucks just for the sake. Hey,
- 56:44Speaker 1: that's forty dollars more than Casey's made for his song.
- 56:46Speaker 1: That's all that was.
- 56:48Speaker 5: Post one picture dude, I got you.
- 56:50Speaker 1: That's a lot. That's a lot.
- 56:54Speaker 5: He can strawberry salad.

- 57:00Speaker 1: the day. We'll see you guys later on this week.
