- 0:01It is a very disgusting, demonic, diabolical and demonic
- 0:05day when those who have contributed nothing to the
- 0:09country, are here illegally and possibly even come with criminal
- 0:14intent are given preference over those who have served as
- 0:19patriots, who have made a sacrifice, who have given
- 0:23themselves and maybe even given their lives or a family member
- 0:26has given their life. It really is.
- 0:28You just stop and think about it on a day like this.
- 0:30It's truly disgusting and it's offensive and it's horrifying.
- 0:53Well, it's Memorial Day weekend and wanted to just thank and
- 0:59encourage and honor those who have served.
- 1:03And Memorial Day we have. We have holidays and that means
- 1:07holy day. And this is a particularly holy
- 1:09day because it's designated to honor those who have made the
- 1:14ultimate sacrifice of giving their life to secure our
- 1:18liberty. And for those of us who are
- 1:21Christians, we remember Jesus Christ set the ultimate
- 1:25sacrifice. The Bible is very clear that
- 1:29that he loved us so much that rather than allowing us to
- 1:33suffer and die, he inserted himself and he endured wrath and
- 1:39suffering and justice, evil, oppression, and ultimately death
- 1:44so that we could live. And so the whole storyline of
- 1:47the gospel of Jesus Christ is that someone loves you so much
- 1:51that they're willing to take your place and suffer so that
- 1:54you can have life and liberty. Well, in that spirit, during the
- 2:00celebration or at least commemoration of Memorial Day,
- 2:04we just want to pause and we want to say, God bless those
- 2:07families that have contributed to the ultimate sacrifice of
- 2:12losing people that they love very, very dearly.
- 2:15And this holiday season is one that is very, very difficult for
- 2:21for many veterans who, who, who didn't die, but maybe we're
- 2:25physically or mentally, emotionally, spiritually
- 2:29scarred, harmed, wounded. And, and for them it is a very
- 2:34dark time. And I've got some statistics
- 2:37here. From 2010 to 2020, suicide and
- 2:41self-inflicted injuries were the leading cause of deaths for male
- 2:44and female service members, accounting for 33% of all
- 2:48deaths. Transportation accidents ranked
- 2:52second, followed by their accidents.
- 2:53What that means is the leading cause of death for those who are
- 2:57serving in the military is suicide, and that suicide and
- 3:02and the war for the heart and the soul and the mind and
- 3:05Wellness is actually raging at a level that is taking life beyond
- 3:10even enemy combatants and wartime activities.
- 3:14Since 9:11, suicide rates among active duty personnel and post
- 3:19911 veterans have far exceeded combat fatalities.
- 3:23Estimates indicate around 30,000 suicides compared to
- 3:27approximately 7000 deaths for those who are in operations in
- 3:31places like Afghanistan or Iraq. And for active duty
- 3:37specifically, suicide deaths significantly outnumbered combat
- 3:42deaths, 883 versus 96, according to one Pentagon analysis.
- 3:47What does this say? It says that serving in the
- 3:50military, being deployed, going into combat in harm's way, it
- 3:56can absolutely take your life. And if it doesn't take your
- 3:59life, it can take your quality of life.
- 4:02And so a couple things I want to say for someone who is a
- 4:07conservative Christian and a patriot, it is it is really
- 4:11incumbent upon those of us who care for those who have or are
- 4:15serving in the military or have loved ones that they are
- 4:19supporting while they send them out to the front line, that that
- 4:23we understand something. And that is that in addition to
- 4:27physical war, there is spiritual war.
- 4:29And that a lot of the struggles that those in the military have
- 4:35is oppression. It's spiritual oppression.
- 4:39That war only exists, that conflict and combat only exists
- 4:43because sin has entered the world.
- 4:46The the first war, according to the Bible, was naturally not a
- 4:49war on earth. It was a war in heaven.
- 4:51The Bible says in Revelation 12, I believe it is that war erupted
- 4:55in heaven. And so there's God and there's
- 4:59angelic beings. And the angelic beings, they are
- 5:02architected, organized like a military force.
- 5:06And so you've got high-ranking angels, archangels.
- 5:09You've got, in addition, 2 named angels in the Bible, Michael and
- 5:14Gabriel. So those would be sort of
- 5:16senior, you know, Department of War heads for God's divine army.
- 5:22The third named Angel in the Bible is Lucifer, who is Satan.
- 5:27And that indicates that he, too, was likely a high-ranking
- 5:31official, a military leader, if you were in the unseen realm,
- 5:36and that what Satan decided to do was to declare war on God in
- 5:40heaven. And so war starts in the
- 5:41presence of God in the unseen realm.
- 5:44And it says that Satan was defeated.
- 5:46God didn't engage. He let his angels fight back.
- 5:51Jesus says when Satan was cast down to the earth that a third
- 5:54of the heavenly hosts were with him.
- 5:57Well if the three highest ranking angels in the Bible
- 5:59because they are named are Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer
- 6:03then it would make sense that when Lucifer fell after his
- 6:07defeat in heaven that a third of the angels went with him.
- 6:11Because again, if there are three senior leaders and one
- 6:14becomes an enemy combatant and, and turns, then when he loses
- 6:20the war, the 3rd that are with him go with him.
- 6:23And so we, we see that there is this profoundly spiritual,
- 6:26deeply supernatural connection to war.
- 6:31And so when Satan comes to the earth, he's all about war.
- 6:34He's war on family, he's war on life, he's war on marriage.
- 6:38And we see throughout the course of the Bible that often times
- 6:42those who are being empowered for war are being empowered by
- 6:46demonic forces. We see this over and over and
- 6:49over, for example, in the Book of Judges, where you've got
- 6:53Deborah and Gideon and Samson, and they're rising up to go to
- 6:58literal physical war against enemy combatants that also are
- 7:03demonically empowered, worshipping false gods.
- 7:06And what is a physical war is actually also a spiritual war.
- 7:11And so you see in that strong men like, like Samson are
- 7:17spiritually overwhelmed. You see men like Gideon who are
- 7:21really struggling with anxiety and fear.
- 7:24And you even see in the days of Deborah, she has a man who is
- 7:29working with him, Barack with her, Barack.
- 7:32And so he is the one who is sort of listening to her.
- 7:35She's getting revelation from God.
- 7:37And then he's leading the troops into battle.
- 7:39But he is struggling with anxiety, he's struggling with
- 7:42oppression. He is struggling with his own
- 7:45mental and spiritual well-being. And so throughout the Bible we
- 7:50see that when there is a physical war, there's also a
- 7:52spiritual war. And that in addition to the
- 7:56combat and the conflict, there is this demonic oppression that
- 8:01can come upon those who are serving on the right side of
- 8:05combat and force. And unless you understand that,
- 8:08there isn't as much compassion, empathy, understanding, or
- 8:13prayerful intercession for those who are service members or those
- 8:16who have been supporting loved ones who are service members.
- 8:22And so this is all profoundly and deeply spiritual.
- 8:25It explains why veterans that that do live through war, they
- 8:31still live at war for the rest of their life.
- 8:34There's trauma that happens, There's haunting that happens.
- 8:37I think of a man that I know well and he he struggles a lot
- 8:43with his sleep. He struggles a lot with PTSD.
- 8:45He struggles a lot with anxiety. And it's because of so many
- 8:49deployments and so much combat and so much death, in my
- 8:54experience, to those who served as medics or firefighters or
- 8:58those who served within certain roles within the military where
- 9:02they're, they're first on scene to help people in crisis, The
- 9:06trauma that they have witnessed, the, the pain that they have
- 9:11endured, it is beyond what the human soul was created to carry.
- 9:16And it, it can be oppressing and breaking.
- 9:19And that doesn't mean that they've done anything wrong.
- 9:21It just means that an oppression comes on them because the soul
- 9:24reaches its human limits for for suffering, for death, for loss
- 9:30and, and for pain and trauma and evil.
- 9:33And And So what really frustrates me is we see on the
- 9:40progressive left, and I don't want to make this just solely
- 9:43bipartisan and political, but this toxic cult of empathy where
- 9:47we're welcoming into the country anyone who wants to come,
- 9:51meaning during the previous administration, 10s of millions
- 9:54of people. It's like, hey, you're a drug
- 9:56dealer, you're a criminal, You're a you're a human
- 9:59trafficker. Come on in.
- 10:02And we have compassion and empathy for you.
- 10:04So here's housing and here's education and here's medical
- 10:09care because, you know, we want to do all that we can to be as
- 10:13generous as we can to you. And at the same time, there is a
- 10:17disdain among many for those who are connected to in the
- 10:23military. We, we don't see this same.
- 10:26Hey, let's, let's do all we can to help veterans.
- 10:29Let's do all we can to provide good mental health care and
- 10:33physical doctor services for those who are suffering from
- 10:40from combat or from military deployment or family members.
- 10:44So we've got this day where people that didn't fight for the
- 10:48country are preferred over those who do.
- 10:51Those who didn't put themselves in harm's way for the country
- 10:55are preferred over those who have.
- 10:57Those who just want to smuggle their family into the country
- 11:01are preferred over those whose family paid a price by burying a
- 11:05family member who paid the ultimate sacrifice for life and
- 11:09liberty. Yeah, it it is a it is a very
- 11:12disgusting, demonic, diabolical and demonic day when those who
- 11:19have contributed nothing to the country, are here illegally and
- 11:23possibly even come with criminal intent are given preference over
- 11:27those who have served as patriots, who have made a
- 11:31sacrifice, who have given themselves and maybe even given
- 11:35their lives or a family member has given their life.
- 11:38It really is if you just stop and think about it on a day like
- 11:40this, it's truly disgusting and it's offensive and it's
- 11:44horrifying and it is a falsely placed empathy and it is a it is
- 11:51a wrong headed compassion. And if you want to, if you want
- 11:56to raise taxes, if you want to increase spending for housing
- 12:00and medical care and psychological services, then
- 12:05let's put at the very front of the line veterans and their
- 12:08families. Let's let's thank them, let's
- 12:11honor them, let's appreciate them.
- 12:14And the truth is none of us, quite frankly, would sign up to
- 12:20do what they volunteered to do. And by volunteering, they have
- 12:25shown that they are willing to sacrifice and to make the
- 12:29ultimate sacrifice. And if someone is willing to do
- 12:31that for you, why wouldn't you be willing to do your best to be
- 12:36of help to them? And on on a day like Memorial
- 12:39Day, there's something called a negative anniversary.
- 12:43And a negative anniversary is what psychologists will say.
- 12:46If there is a traumatic event, there's a negative anniversary,
- 12:50just like you have a positive anniversary.
- 12:51So like, well, let's say March 12th, 1988, I took my wife out
- 12:56on our first date. So to me, that's one of the most
- 12:59joyful anniversaries in my whole life.
- 13:03The day that you're born, that's an anniversary.
- 13:05The day that your kid is born, that's an anniversary.
- 13:08We have, we have positive anniversaries.
- 13:10We also have negative anniversaries.
- 13:12The negative anniversaries are where something so traumatic
- 13:15happened that that day is sort of darkened and clouded forever.
- 13:20And, and according to some, the body keeps the score.
- 13:24Meaning when there's a traumatic event, your body sort of
- 13:29remembers it, your soul remembers it, your, your
- 13:33hardwiring remembers it. Memorial Day.
- 13:36For many veterans and their friends and family, it's a
- 13:39negative anniversary. It's a time when they are
- 13:43remembering sort of the collective pain, loss, trauma.
- 13:49And as a result, it's a very dark day and it can become a
- 13:52season of oppression where they're, they're not themselves,
- 13:58They're not well, they're, they're haunted.
- 14:02And, and so I would just encourage you if, if there's
- 14:05somebody that you know, love, care about and, and they're a
- 14:09veteran or a family member and it is memorial season, just
- 14:15assume they're probably experiencing a negative
- 14:18anniversary and they're probably suffering some form of demonic
- 14:22oppression. And that doesn't mean that
- 14:25they've done anything wrong. It just means that they've been
- 14:28under and surrounded by and witnessed to so much darkness
- 14:32and evil that their soul is flooded and having a hard time
- 14:36processing all that they have been experiencing.
- 14:40And So what can you do? Well, you can practice the
- 14:43ministry of presence. You can make sure that you're
- 14:46calling, texting, emailing that you're driving over to their
- 14:49house. Then maybe you're jumping on a
- 14:51plane and you're like, you know what, I'm just going to go be
- 14:54with you for a couple of days so that you're not alone.
- 14:57This is also what the Bible called the ministry of
- 15:00intercession. The ministry of intercession, of
- 15:03course, is perfect by the Lord Jesus.
- 15:07The Bible says in Hebrews that he lives to make intercession,
- 15:10but that is there is God and there is a person who is
- 15:13suffering or struggling. And then the the, the ministry
- 15:17of intercession is someone who goes between them and God and
- 15:21brings their needs to God and brings God's love to them.
- 15:24And so it is, it is a mediatorial role.
- 15:27Of course, Jesus does that perfectly as our great high
- 15:30priest, and that's his role. But then we also to the apostle
- 15:34Paul says have been given the ministry of intercession.
- 15:37And that includes in the Bible the laying on of hands.
- 15:41And the laying on of hands is it is a connection, but it's also
- 15:45an impartation. The connection is, I know you're
- 15:48in a hard season. You're not alone.
- 15:50I'm here with you. I'm here for you.
- 15:54But it's also an impartation because I'm invoking the Holy
- 15:58Spirit and inviting the Holy Spirit.
- 16:00There is a transference of divine presence and power to the
- 16:04suffering person to help lift that burden off of them and to
- 16:07bring God's grace into them. And so as Christians, for those
- 16:12of us who are uniquely positioned to be helpful because
- 16:17we know that number one, it's not just physical, there's
- 16:20spiritual warfare as well. Just because the physical
- 16:22warfare is over doesn't mean that the spiritual warfare has
- 16:25ended. Sometimes it's even intensified.
- 16:28And this can include times when you're trying to sleep and then
- 16:31suddenly you are not consciously aware for the battle.
- 16:36And so your thoughts become flooded with some of the most
- 16:40painful and horrifying moments of your life, and maybe even
- 16:43regret of things that you could have done under impossible
- 16:46circumstances that would have perhaps created a more
- 16:49preferable outcome. This includes the spiritual
- 16:53warfare does include isolation. The Bible says it's not good to
- 16:57be alone. There's a difference between
- 17:00solitude and isolation. Solitude is where they says that
- 17:03Jesus often withdrew the lonely places to be alone with the
- 17:06Father. That's not isolation, that's
- 17:08just I'm getting rid of everybody and everything so I
- 17:11can make sure that my connection to God is as close as possible.
- 17:14And that's temporary. Isolation is very, very
- 17:17dangerous. Isolation is where you are not
- 17:22near God's people and you're not near God's presence.
- 17:26And the result is that's when the enemy tends to show up and
- 17:30to bring demonic attack and oppression.
- 17:32And so for those who you know during this memorial season,
- 17:38know someone and they're isolating, pay attention to
- 17:41that. If they're not calling, texting,
- 17:44if they're not communicating, if they're isolating, pursue them.
- 17:48Don't let them get isolated. If they get isolated, this is
- 17:52where mentally they could be getting oppressed, their sleep
- 17:56could be affected, their dreams become nightmares.
- 17:59And this is where people start self medicating with drugs or
- 18:03alcohol. And what they're trying to do is
- 18:05they are trying to calm down the fight or flight system in the
- 18:10body that is being triggered. Because what happens is anxiety
- 18:13in the mind. It, it, it triggers a fear
- 18:16response in the body. And so they're trying to find a
- 18:19way to, to lessen the, the, the thoughts that they're haunted by
- 18:23and the oppression that they're experiencing.
- 18:25And if someone isolates and then they're being flooded with
- 18:28oppression and then they are self medicating, well, now
- 18:33they're in a dangerous place because we know that the, the,
- 18:36the ultimate goal of the enemy is always death.
- 18:40He's, he's, he's the father of death.
- 18:43And so then it is suicidal ideation and it is oppression.
- 18:47And so we love you very much for those of you who have served or
- 18:52love those who have or are serving, and thank you to those
- 18:55who are serving. We know that this can be an
- 18:58intensely difficult season for a number of practical and
- 19:03spiritual reasons. But I'll just, I'll close my
- 19:05time For those of you who have an opportunity, don't allow
- 19:10these people that you love to isolate.
- 19:13Don't let them do it. Instead, practice the ministry
- 19:16of intercession. Be praying for them, pursuing
- 19:19them, and if you need to, get on a plane and go literally,
- 19:23physically be with them. If you're one of these people
- 19:26who is experiencing a negative anniversary, you need to know
- 19:31that it is spiritual and you need to make sure that you
- 19:35invite in God and godly people so that you're not isolated and
- 19:39you're being interceded for and supported during this season.
- 19:43And and then lastly, to all of you who would be critical of law
- 19:47enforcement or military, those of you who are, you know,
- 19:51vocally and sometimes even violently opposing rightful law
- 19:55enforcement, just know this. There's a spiritual war and
- 19:59you're on the demonic side of the fight and what you're doing
- 20:02is evil. And it doesn't matter if you're
- 20:04calling it justice in the sight of God.
- 20:06It is willful, horrifying, reprehensible injustice.
- 20:10And you need to stand with those who are trying to defend life
- 20:14and liberty. And if you're opposing them,
- 20:17you're part of the war that started in heaven.
- 20:19And you're on the side of the fight with Satan and demons for
- 20:22those who are fighting for life and liberty.
- 20:24Thank you. You're on the right side of the
- 20:26fight, and you're on the side with Gabriel, and you're on the
- 20:29side with Michael, and you're on the side with God.
- 20:32And we love you. We appreciate you.
- 20:34We intercede for you. And we're just asking you,
- 20:36please don't do anything during the season that'll hurt you.
