A Reflection For When We Assume The Worst
Sometimes we assume the worst about people we don’t know or understand.
Hanun assumed David’s people were there to undermine him, and he acted accordingly.
In fact, David had intended to support him because Hanun’s father had been good to David. — 2 Samuel 10:2
But Hanun never found that out, because he had already assumed the worst. The consequences were tragic.
Assumed goodwill sometimes goes bad.
But assumed bad will never ends well.
