- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey friends, it's time for another encore presentation of Girls
- 0:02Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark. This time we are revisiting our reviews of
- 0:06Speaker 1: the Holidays series. These were originally recorded in December twenty
- 0:10Speaker 1: twenty four, so you might hear a reference here and
- 0:12Speaker 1: there to something around the holiday season. But in honor
- 0:15Speaker 1: of the fact that Hallmark is re airing these episodes
- 0:19Speaker 1: on the Hallmark Channel for the first time, we wanted
- 0:22Speaker 1: to re share our reviews along with those drops, so
- 0:25Speaker 1: you can listen along as you're watching enjoy the show.
- 0:32Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 0:53Speaker 1: a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a longtime
- 0:56Speaker 1: Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. Are
- 0:59Speaker 1: you a little bit like the shattered ornament in the
- 1:02Speaker 1: opening of the Holidaized episode. That's a perfect example thought
- 1:07Speaker 1: that might be yes. Today, we are reviewing and recapping
- 1:11Speaker 1: Holidays episode four the Woods Family. The series is streaming
- 1:16Speaker 1: exclusively on Hallmark Plus. We're going to talk some quick
- 1:21Speaker 1: news and notes about this episode. It was directed by
- 1:24Speaker 1: David Weaver and this episode was written by Eileen Rosenswag.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I have a question for you before we jump in. Yeah, one,
- 1:31Speaker 1: how are you liking the series so far? I'm really
- 1:34Speaker 1: enjoying it. There's one episode that was really weak to me. Well,
- 1:36Speaker 1: i'll tell you when we talk about it. Oh, and
- 1:40Speaker 1: I was really disappointed by it. Interesting, but I am
- 1:44Speaker 1: enjoying the storyline, and I'm enjoying the way that we
- 1:47Speaker 1: see them Like obviously, each episode focuses on one family,
- 1:51Speaker 1: but we do see like some of the other characters,
- 1:53Speaker 1: like in full trade. Sure, and I'm liking the way
- 1:56Speaker 1: those stories weave together. I like that too. The series
- 1:59Speaker 1: is nothing like I had imagined it would be, especially
- 2:03Speaker 1: when you get down into like the nitty gritty of
- 2:06Speaker 1: each family. The other thing, it's kind of mind blowing
- 2:12Speaker 1: to me a little bit that Hallmark. Look. I think
- 2:15Speaker 1: it's gonna wrap up nicely at the end, but like
- 2:19Speaker 1: it's real messy, Like these families are real messy. Well,
- 2:22Speaker 1: what's interesting to me is we have all these different families,
- 2:24Speaker 1: these six families, and like each one is dealing with
- 2:28Speaker 1: different stuff, which is so real life. Yeah, yeah, so
- 2:32Speaker 1: that's why it was nice. It's kind of cool. Now
- 2:35Speaker 1: on the flip side of that, I don't you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: this series has been like coming for a long time,
- 2:41Speaker 1: like it's been made for like several years now, right
- 2:43Speaker 1: m hm. I kind of feel like homemarks dropping the
- 2:46Speaker 1: ball on promotion on promotion for this because it's a
- 2:50Speaker 1: it's a really good series. So I'm interested to see
- 2:56Speaker 1: if this is going to land on Linear or somewhere
- 2:59Speaker 1: next year to get more eyes on it, m hm,
- 3:02Speaker 1: or they're just like I mean, I'm sure they spend
- 3:05Speaker 1: a lot of money on it, big production, right, huge,
- 3:08Speaker 1: So I'm just I'm just curious if they're not getting
- 3:12Speaker 1: the eyeballs they want on it. Yeah, I always I
- 3:15Speaker 1: wonder about that stuff. Anyway. All right, let's tack. I
- 3:19Speaker 1: thought this might be your week week story because it
- 3:21Speaker 1: was for me. Oh interesting, No, it's coming a little
- 3:25Speaker 1: bit more news and notes. Lyndy Booth plays Lucy Woods.
- 3:29Speaker 1: She's mom. Lindy has eighty four acting credits, including Under
- 3:32Speaker 1: the Autumn Moon starring We's Brown. Bella Grace plays daughter
- 3:35Speaker 1: Annie Woods. Bella has five acting credits, including appearances in
- 3:39Speaker 1: Snow Piercers, Nancy Drew, and I Zombie. Rachel A Favor
- 3:43Speaker 1: plays sister Sylvie Woods. Although many of us will never
- 3:46Speaker 1: unsee rachel as Victoria from Twilight. Her eighty acting credits
- 3:50Speaker 1: also include the Homewark movie Mariah's Lighthouse. Stephen Aleric plays
- 3:56Speaker 1: Cole Lucy's romantic interest. Stephen is a Hallmark movie. His
- 4:01Speaker 1: fifty two previous credits include Chicago Fire and Station nineteen,
- 4:05Speaker 1: which perfect casting for that. Mm hmm. We have some
- 4:09Speaker 1: crossover from the Lewin family played by Lennox Leecock. Lennox
- 4:13Speaker 1: is the son a One Calls the Heart actor vill
- 4:15Speaker 1: Leekock cool, and he has seven acting credits that include
- 4:18Speaker 1: Crime Time, free Fall, and a Magical Christmas Village. He
- 4:22Speaker 1: hasn't been in One Calls the Heart though he hasn't,
- 4:24Speaker 1: but Viv's other children have. I believe. Oh that's cool.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I love that. Kisha Haynes plays Janet. Kisha has appeared
- 4:34Speaker 1: in a handful of Hallmark movies. In her twenty eight
- 4:36Speaker 1: credits like Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas
- 4:39Speaker 1: and Christmas to Cherish. She also ticks the Girl's Gotten
- 4:43Speaker 1: Hallmark Bingo box for Unreal and Honorary Bingo space. No Tomorrow,
- 4:48Speaker 1: What the hell is No Tomorrow? My gosh, she doesn't
- 4:51Speaker 1: listen to me, you guys, I'll talk about all the time.
- 4:54Speaker 1: It's the one season Netflix series about the guy who
- 4:59Speaker 1: is convinced that the world is ending. No idea what
- 5:02Speaker 1: you're talking about. It's a delight. I suggest you guys
- 5:09Speaker 1: watch it. Zara Niku Sakhani plays stephanieha Zandi. This is
- 5:13Speaker 1: Our's seventh acting credit and her second for Hallmark, having
- 5:17Speaker 1: previously appeared in the Christmas House. So this episode kicks
- 5:21Speaker 1: off and I feel like this is the family we
- 5:23Speaker 1: had learned the least about in the opening episode, and
- 5:27Speaker 1: like they're on screen. I was like, oh yeah, oh yeah.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So we've got sisters Lucy and Sylvie and their relationship
- 5:33Speaker 1: is a little bit straightened. Mm hm. That's a cute
- 5:37Speaker 1: daughter Annie in the mix and her like parallel storyline
- 5:41Speaker 1: is the popular girl Stephanie gi Zandi is coming in
- 5:44Speaker 1: and stealing away her bestie Max, who she has a
- 5:46Speaker 1: newfound crush on.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yes, we open with Lucy hearing a noise.
- 6:00Speaker 1: She thinks there's an intruder and she finds Sylvie decorating
- 6:03Speaker 1: the tree, but she's actually redecorating the tree. She didn't
- 6:07Speaker 1: like sister Lucy's decor choices. Then you have some thoughts
- 6:10Speaker 1: on redecorating and Christmas tree. I swear you mentioned it
- 6:14Speaker 1: when we reviewed Leah's Perfect Gift. I mean, I think
- 6:18Speaker 1: it's poor form to walk into someone's house and redecorate
- 6:21Speaker 1: their tree. Have you redecorated it? Have you redecorated your
- 6:24Speaker 1: own tree? Like, move to ornaments your family have put up. No,
- 6:29Speaker 1: they're pretty well trained. Oh my goodness. I would never decorate.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I wouldn't go into my mother's house and be like,
- 6:38Speaker 1: let me move these ornaments around. It's a Christmaka tree now. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Lucy's like hold up, time does up boundaries And on
- 6:47Speaker 1: the one hand, like you just know these two were
- 6:50Speaker 1: already at odds. Whatever Sylvie does is gonna piss Lucy off.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Why did Sylvie come then? Well, okay, Sylvie wants a
- 6:58Speaker 1: relationship with her sister. Yeah, and she's all alone in
- 7:01Speaker 1: the world. She has a boyfriend who sucks and his
- 7:05Speaker 1: bounce I know, but she doesn't actually have a boyfriend.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Spoiler alert. Lucy's just frustrated with her sister. Her sister's
- 7:12Speaker 1: like she's kind of like the fun one, right, Like
- 7:15Speaker 1: she comes in and she gets like to have this
- 7:18Speaker 1: like fun child life. She's a little resentful of that. Yeah,
- 7:22Speaker 1: and Lucy's like, I gotta be here run in a
- 7:23Speaker 1: business and being a mom and you can't just like
- 7:26Speaker 1: blow in and be the fun sister and like up
- 7:29Speaker 1: end my life. She's also mad because she suspected that
- 7:33Speaker 1: Sylvie was flirting with Cole. Yeah, and I really like
- 7:37Speaker 1: that we dispel this right away. Yes, so be like yo,
- 7:41Speaker 1: Cole likes you, dummy, And by the way, I have
- 7:44Speaker 1: a boyfriend. No, she does it. I'm glad we got
- 7:47Speaker 1: that like out of the way opening scene, but Lucy
- 7:50Speaker 1: is still not like, yay, thank you for coming home Sylvie.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I like to point out that Sylvie has amazing hair
- 7:56Speaker 1: for the middle of the freaking night. But the button
- 7:58Speaker 1: on this scene is Lucy leaves and Sylvie's loops one
- 8:01Speaker 1: final pillow in Defiance, I laughed because this morning I
- 8:05Speaker 1: got out of bed and my hair looked crazy, and
- 8:07Speaker 1: I was like, what happens that night? Like I don't understand,
- 8:11Speaker 1: Like I could never wake up in the middle of
- 8:13Speaker 1: the night, and like beautiful, Nope, hoe me either. We
- 8:16Speaker 1: call my son Kramer because when he wakens us, heirs
- 8:21Speaker 1: on the morning, it kind of like stumbles down and
- 8:22Speaker 1: he has curly hair and it's like sticking up in
- 8:25Speaker 1: every direction and he just it's out of love, y'all.
- 8:27Speaker 1: That's a signe Toeld reference. If we haven't I got it.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Young folks are listening on ants. Cut to the next morning.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Sylvie is being fun aunt, tell any any y'all about
- 8:37Speaker 1: her adventures. But then Annie's like, if you got this
- 8:41Speaker 1: hot boyfriend, you go on all these fun trips with
- 8:44Speaker 1: what are you doing here? Yeah? And she's like, oh, well,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I give him an ultimatum. I suspect, based on Sylvie's
- 8:51Speaker 1: facial expressions that she's a lying Did you ever have
- 8:55Speaker 1: a fun aunt like and that like blew into town
- 8:58Speaker 1: and was like you wanted to know to you? Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I totally did. No shade to my aunts, both of
- 9:03Speaker 1: whom may or may not listen to this podcast. So actually,
- 9:05Speaker 1: my aunt Stacy, I do think you're fun, but you're
- 9:07Speaker 1: not like the wild and crazy like you didn't want
- 9:10Speaker 1: to like I used to go visit her in the
- 9:12Speaker 1: summer for a week. I like to stay with my cousin. Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 1: but she was like, you know, married with children. It
- 9:18Speaker 1: wasn't like she was like the unmarried I had an
- 9:21Speaker 1: unmarried fun aunt. Annie does tell Sylvie how Stephanie Zandie
- 9:28Speaker 1: is moving in. Look. I feel bad for Stephanie ja
- 9:31Speaker 1: Zandi because I think Stephanie Jizzanti is not trying to
- 9:34Speaker 1: like I mean, maybe she's trying to like get with
- 9:38Speaker 1: this kid Max, but like she seems like a nice girl. Yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 1: she's not giving mean girl vibes. No, not at all.
- 9:44Speaker 1: That funny line in this episode, Sylvie's like, what does
- 9:47Speaker 1: she got Annie? Annie's like She's got superior DNA and
- 9:49Speaker 1: a social media fall. Loved it in great lines, So good.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It's time for the conflict. The health Department is expecting
- 9:56Speaker 1: inspecting the Woods Bakery, and somehow, one week before Christmas,
- 9:59Speaker 1: their hallway is too narrow. Yeah. This is where I'm like, Okay,
- 10:02Speaker 1: I'm tapping out because I don't this kind of manufactured conflict.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It doesn't even make sense. You couldn't have come up
- 10:10Speaker 1: with a better reason to have coal come in. Yeah,
- 10:13Speaker 1: so they got to fix it by the end of
- 10:14Speaker 1: the year, which means incoming hottie handyman. We cut back
- 10:19Speaker 1: to the house. Sylvie and Annie are like look them
- 10:21Speaker 1: through Lucy's closet and they're like, your mom's clothes are boring.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And I was like, my clothes are boring too. I
- 10:29Speaker 1: was packing, I was taking my clothes for Kansas City.
- 10:32Speaker 1: We have time travel to the past, y'all, and like
- 10:34Speaker 1: literally every sweater like they're all in that like cream
- 10:37Speaker 1: neutral color family. I was like, well, make success rising easy.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It does. It's okay to have like a look. Jennifer
- 10:43Speaker 1: Aniston always wears black, so hey, right, he'll take it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: She's got a uniform. It's okay. But in there, I
- 10:50Speaker 1: don't know why they're digging through Lucy's closet. Like I
- 10:52Speaker 1: can't figure out what they're trying to do, Like, are
- 10:54Speaker 1: they trying to find something for Annie to wear to
- 10:57Speaker 1: like make make Max notice her? Yeah, I don't know
- 11:01Speaker 1: what in your mom closet? Yeah, no, my kid, my
- 11:05Speaker 1: poor kid. Oh my god. You want to hear a
- 11:06Speaker 1: funny story. Yesterday and my daughter says I need some
- 11:09Speaker 1: new underwear and I was like, oh, she was no,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want your foot of the loom.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Then I was going to like give her mind. I
- 11:18Speaker 1: was going to suggest me buy some for her. She's like, no,
- 11:22Speaker 1: how does she know? Just laundry, you know? But I
- 11:27Speaker 1: think she I don't know she knew specifically for Nola Loom.
- 11:31Speaker 1: It was probably just man, this is stuff were talking
- 11:33Speaker 1: about on Patriot. I don't want your breathable undies, Grandma, no, no,
- 11:41Speaker 1: but these are great. She's like, get out of here.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And then then I go, Marry Christmas. That's what you're
- 11:46Speaker 1: getting on your stocking. While they're snooping in Mom's closet
- 11:50Speaker 1: through her natural fibers, they do find like a hidden
- 11:53Speaker 1: door in the wall, and the inside the hidden door
- 11:55Speaker 1: is the Joy Box, which turns out to be a
- 11:58Speaker 1: suitcase of Joy's favorite thing. Them like, Who's Joy? I
- 12:01Speaker 1: was like, who the fuck is Joy? Is? That? Is
- 12:03Speaker 1: that Grandma? Yeah? But they don't tell us that. Now
- 12:07Speaker 1: I know, I like, is that a sister? They ultimately
- 12:10Speaker 1: we get there, but they go back and forth between
- 12:12Speaker 1: calling her Joy and Mom, and I don't understand why
- 12:16Speaker 1: they do that. So we learn that Joy is like
- 12:20Speaker 1: super fun and Sylvie's like, you got to tap into
- 12:23Speaker 1: your Wood's wild side and gives her this like poochy
- 12:26Speaker 1: esque shirt dress to wear, which is she yeah, don't
- 12:29Speaker 1: you think sort of whatever, it's it's outside of Annie's normal.
- 12:33Speaker 1: She's like, you wear this to get Max's attention. Then
- 12:37Speaker 1: they find the menora that Sylvie and Lucy made for
- 12:40Speaker 1: joy and she puts it up and they also find
- 12:44Speaker 1: the recipe for joy bars, driving plot point for the
- 12:47Speaker 1: rest of the episode, which Silly brings to the bakery.
- 12:53Speaker 1: And I just feel like the storytelling in this episode's
- 12:56Speaker 1: kind of weak, Like we take like I'm like, yes,
- 12:58Speaker 1: that's what I said. I'm like missing, Like the point
- 13:01Speaker 1: is not getting through what we do when the bakery struggling. Yes,
- 13:04Speaker 1: because a bakery serves gluten free desserts. Yeah, quote healthy desserts. Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 1: We do learn that Sylvie was a silent investor in
- 13:11Speaker 1: the bakery and in comes cold to check out the
- 13:15Speaker 1: work needed. And Sylvie's like, Janet, what the heck is
- 13:17Speaker 1: going on? Man? And Janet's like, we got no money.
- 13:22Speaker 1: There's no money for a renovation. There's no money for anything.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I mean, I would not call this some renovation. This
- 13:27Speaker 1: is a violation that needs to be repaired. Sure, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: I think you gotta do it. Sylvie's got a plan.
- 13:36Speaker 1: But cut to Annie and this is where Stephanie de
- 13:39Speaker 1: Zoondie is lovely. She's like, I love your Vinchites dress.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I know I got mean girls though, Like he you
- 13:44Speaker 1: know when She's like, oh, I like your skirt soa vintage,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and she was like mean about it, but Stephanie just
- 13:52Speaker 1: the vibe I'm getting from Stephanie, which is very nice.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And then she goes, did you get it on d pop?
- 13:57Speaker 1: Which is such a teenager? Yeah, like my kid sells
- 14:01Speaker 1: all her crap on deep Hop. So Sylvie's big plan
- 14:05Speaker 1: is We're going to barter a deal and I'm going
- 14:07Speaker 1: to make you the worst marketing offer ever. We're going
- 14:09Speaker 1: to name a cupcake after you and put your information
- 14:12Speaker 1: on the napkin in exchange for all of your labor.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And oh, by the way, my sister, who's a baker
- 14:18Speaker 1: and not actually any sort of construction worker, is going
- 14:21Speaker 1: to help you. Lucy goes to pick up Annie, and
- 14:24Speaker 1: Lucy discovers that Annie and Sylvie have found the joy
- 14:28Speaker 1: box and what is the problem here, I don't really know.
- 14:31Speaker 1: She actually doesn't seem that bothered by it. I thought
- 14:34Speaker 1: she'd be like more bothered by the violation of them
- 14:37Speaker 1: going in her closet and taking the sure and she
- 14:40Speaker 1: seems more like things are not always what they seem.
- 14:43Speaker 1: M m. She's like, by the way, that shirt it's
- 14:45Speaker 1: not a shirt dress it's just a shirt. Yeah, I
- 14:47Speaker 1: didn't even get like, see, this is where I'm like,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I was losing interest in this story because these feel
- 14:56Speaker 1: like champagne problems to me. Well, their bakery is failing
- 15:00Speaker 1: besides that. Okay, Lucy is so like I don't know,
- 15:07Speaker 1: maybe she's not any fun. Maybe that's what I don't
- 15:10Speaker 1: like about her because she's me. No, she's not you
- 15:14Speaker 1: with her red hair and her uptight attitude. No, no, no,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I just like I can't pinpore. I don't want to
- 15:21Speaker 1: be like she was just so focused on like things
- 15:23Speaker 1: falling apart for her bakery. Changed the bakery. Then, Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I'm kind of teen Lucy here, though I know you are.
- 15:34Speaker 1: But because Lucy's like, I'm a single mom, I don't
- 15:38Speaker 1: have time to be fun. I gotta be the one
- 15:40Speaker 1: who gets things done. And I had a fun mom
- 15:43Speaker 1: and we lost her, and therefore I need to have
- 15:47Speaker 1: my act together so you're not left all alone. I'm
- 15:51Speaker 1: not buying it, Okay. Well, Sylvie decides that what this
- 15:56Speaker 1: bakery actually needs is a makeover and in comes a
- 16:00Speaker 1: vintage jukebox all in the same day. Yeah, just like that,
- 16:04Speaker 1: like just sourced. It happened to be in this small
- 16:07Speaker 1: little town right down the street from the holiday stroll.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I mean this Sylvie can buy a vintage juke box,
- 16:12Speaker 1: why can't she just like pay for all the renovationation.
- 16:16Speaker 1: I think I think Lucy wouldn't let her. Maybe that
- 16:18Speaker 1: was a conversation, but yeah, great point. We get a
- 16:21Speaker 1: demo renou montage and the Rada grating is like fine
- 16:26Speaker 1: but super weird because they gift wrapped the tables. I'm like,
- 16:29Speaker 1: you gotta wipe those down after every single customer. Yeah,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I don't like that. What are you gonna do? Yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 1: rewrap them, just sweep the crumbs off, and you have
- 16:38Speaker 1: a little like grease states gross weird. Lucy's the worst
- 16:43Speaker 1: flirt ever, terrible. She makes a bad stud find her
- 16:47Speaker 1: joke and then she says, are you gonna drill now?
- 16:49Speaker 1: I was like, yikes, I'm telling you, I'm telling you.
- 16:52Speaker 1: They had some like kind of not questionable but like
- 16:56Speaker 1: racy lines in episode one as well. M She does
- 17:00Speaker 1: finally ask Cole out and they get ready for the
- 17:02Speaker 1: date and Sylvie's like trying to loosen her up and
- 17:06Speaker 1: she gets sort of wear her hair curly, but she's like, no,
- 17:08Speaker 1: no plumping lip gloss. Dude, this had me in tears
- 17:12Speaker 1: actually that it's the bridge too far when she actually
- 17:15Speaker 1: puts it on at dinner table, Yes your lips, because
- 17:19Speaker 1: she's freaking allergic to it. It was very much that
- 17:23Speaker 1: Will Smith Hitch movie when he U gosh, I love
- 17:26Speaker 1: that movie when he was allergic to I don't know,
- 17:28Speaker 1: shellfish or something like that. Ye show him and his
- 17:31Speaker 1: whole entire face and ears. Everything is so good up.
- 17:35Speaker 1: It was so funny this. It gave me those yes,
- 17:38Speaker 1: yes totally. And if you've never put on plumping lip
- 17:42Speaker 1: gloss before, Vere's like, hell, she was actually allergic to it.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So this is like another issue she has with their
- 17:48Speaker 1: sister because her sister's like doesn't remember that she's allergic
- 17:51Speaker 1: to beat pollen. But like, is silly really going to
- 17:53Speaker 1: be looking at the ingredients of the lip plumper? No? No.
- 17:56Speaker 1: While Lucy's on her date, Sylvie and Annie are back
- 17:59Speaker 1: at the bakery making joy bars, and apparently they just
- 18:02Speaker 1: like well, first of all, Sylvie has to like lie
- 18:05Speaker 1: about Christoph and he's like did you everyone, She's like nope,
- 18:08Speaker 1: he hates to be rushed. It's very obvious that she's lying.
- 18:11Speaker 1: They eat those joy bars like straight out of the oven.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I'm like, well, you've now burned off every one of
- 18:15Speaker 1: your taste buds. Yeah, question for you, when you think
- 18:18Speaker 1: of joy bars do you think of magic bars? Do
- 18:20Speaker 1: you think that's what word is? Not like the like
- 18:23Speaker 1: coconut chocolate situation, la step in there. Yeah, that's yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 1: that's what I'm envisioned. Sounds good. Those are teles. I
- 18:29Speaker 1: could use a joy bar right now. But Lucy shows up.
- 18:33Speaker 1: First of all, she has the allergic reaction dinner. It
- 18:35Speaker 1: ruins her date. She shows up, she's mad. It's only
- 18:39Speaker 1: also Sylvie did use all of her supplies, which fair enough. Yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I guess when it comes to like business stuff like that,
- 18:45Speaker 1: you're like, yo, now I can't make my vegan croissants
- 18:48Speaker 1: tomorrow because you've just used everything. You can't make my
- 18:50Speaker 1: dry ass spinach bars. Yeah exactly, Like I get like
- 18:55Speaker 1: the business aspect on that, and you've just given away
- 18:58Speaker 1: all our bars for free. It was my I mean
- 19:00Speaker 1: she didn't give away yet. Oh sorry. We go to
- 19:03Speaker 1: the stroll, Max and Nannie take a selfie and Annie
- 19:06Speaker 1: decides to kiss Max and the selfie she's like trying
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be finance Sylvie in this moment, and Max's like, woo, yes,
- 19:11Speaker 1: So like maxim not into Annie. I'm getting that vibe.
- 19:15Speaker 1: We do get a peek inside Max's brain in the
- 19:19Speaker 1: next episode. In the next episode, Yeah, Annie runs away,
- 19:23Speaker 1: Lucy goes looking for her and they have a conversation
- 19:27Speaker 1: about Like what I like is Lucy's like Aunt Sylvie's
- 19:31Speaker 1: world is very big and loud, and like that's not
- 19:34Speaker 1: really the way you live. Like, I know you wanted
- 19:38Speaker 1: to like stand out, but like that's not really who
- 19:39Speaker 1: you are. Yeah, but maybe she is. That's why I
- 19:42Speaker 1: don't like. I feel like Lucy's keeping Annie in a
- 19:45Speaker 1: little bit of a box. M Like Lucy wants Annie
- 19:48Speaker 1: to be like her. Okay, but I think Annie is
- 19:50Speaker 1: like her, do you? Annie was? Yeah, haven't you ever
- 19:54Speaker 1: felt like I want to be like that cool person.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I'm not that cool person, of course, But I also
- 19:57Speaker 1: think that Annie is at an age where she's figuring
- 20:00Speaker 1: things out. Yeah, so fair enough, fair enough. As you mentioned,
- 20:07Speaker 1: nobody's buying these joy bars because apparently they're few customers
- 20:10Speaker 1: like their terrible items, So their big plan is we're
- 20:14Speaker 1: gonna give them away. They're like gonna gorilla market these
- 20:16Speaker 1: things and give them away, which not a bad idea, no,
- 20:19Speaker 1: But the problem is they made no money. Lucy is
- 20:24Speaker 1: like the f man, use all my ingredients and you
- 20:27Speaker 1: made no money. You are terrible at business, Sylvie, how
- 20:30Speaker 1: do you make money? But is Lucy also terrible at business?
- 20:33Speaker 1: But she doesn't realize that she's not making any money
- 20:36Speaker 1: at the baby. Yes, her product is limited. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 1: fair enough, fair enough, it's the night of the storm.
- 20:46Speaker 1: This argument is like the breaking point with Lucy and Sylvie,
- 20:49Speaker 1: like when Lucy's like, you were in everything and Sylvie's like, fine,
- 20:52Speaker 1: I'm leaving. So we get our thunder crash, lets us
- 20:56Speaker 1: know orients us in time. In this series, the storm
- 21:00Speaker 1: has arrived, the end of the episode is imminent, and
- 21:04Speaker 1: Lucy's like, don't leave yet. And then I don't fully
- 21:09Speaker 1: understand this. We learn that Lucy it was mad at
- 21:13Speaker 1: their mom, who I think died. That's what I've enterard
- 21:18Speaker 1: and she's like, she abandoned us, which is an interesting
- 21:21Speaker 1: emotion to feel. I guess, I mean, I guess it's
- 21:26Speaker 1: t you left me all alone, Like there's an anger
- 21:28Speaker 1: period of grief, okay, and Lea's the victim. What we
- 21:33Speaker 1: learn here is like Sylvie wanted Lucy's life, and Lucy
- 21:36Speaker 1: looks at Sylvie like, but you have the fun life, yes,
- 21:40Speaker 1: and Lucy's like, I had to live this way because,
- 21:42Speaker 1: like I was, I had to take care of you, okay,
- 21:45Speaker 1: And so they just aren't communicating you. Sylvie wants some stability,
- 21:51Speaker 1: but she like puts on this big fun front because
- 21:53Speaker 1: she doesn't have Lucy's life. And then she leaves and
- 21:57Speaker 1: he's mad, mom, scared, way Aunt Sylvie, And then the
- 22:02Speaker 1: power goes out and again it's like rushed resolution all
- 22:08Speaker 1: over again. They light a billion candles throughout the house,
- 22:11Speaker 1: plus they light the joy Mania of course, and Annie's like,
- 22:16Speaker 1: why did you lock Nana Joy's memories in a box?
- 22:18Speaker 1: And Lucy's like to protect you, which I don't really understand.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Like that either she died, She wasn't a bad mother.
- 22:24Speaker 1: She was clearly very fun you and Sylvie clearly loved
- 22:27Speaker 1: her very much. Then Annie sees a photo of Christoph
- 22:30Speaker 1: with his newbae and she's like, uh, oh, Sylvie is
- 22:34Speaker 1: not getting proposed to Christoph has moved on where Sylvie.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Sylvie said she was going on a yacht with Christoph.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Storm blows the windows open, all the candles go out
- 22:43Speaker 1: except for the joy Manora and a scene I was
- 22:47Speaker 1: saying Christmas miracle. Okay, it is quite the metaphor. And
- 22:52Speaker 1: do you like that each episode ends like in these
- 22:54Speaker 1: big light Yeah. I I think it's fun. I'm really
- 22:59Speaker 1: anxious to see how it's all gonna come together. I
- 23:02Speaker 1: think it's going to be a chaotic eighth episode the
- 23:04Speaker 1: way episode one was chaotic. I don't know if you
- 23:06Speaker 1: can do it. Thanks for listening to Girls Gone Hamewark
