Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: And right now, Vincent meca any our UK europe correspondent,
- 0:02Speaker 1: France is deploying lots of cops. This is for the
- 0:06Speaker 1: Israel football match. This after the violence in Amsterdam.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. Last week in Amsterdam, a game between
- 0:15Speaker 2: Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv was surrounded by controversy because
- 0:20Speaker 2: you had the mccarby fans themselves involved in vandalism, tearing
- 0:24Speaker 2: down Palestinian flags, attacking a taxi and chanting anti Arab
- 0:28Speaker 2: slogans according to city authorities. Then they were targeted by
- 0:32Speaker 2: small groups of rioters on first and in scooters and cars,
- 0:36Speaker 2: which then pursued them, and there was a lot of
- 0:38Speaker 2: violence and ugliness in the city, and various politicians have
- 0:43Speaker 2: been saying it shows that there is a problem with
- 0:47Speaker 2: Semitism in Europe. But this was also some classic sort
- 0:50Speaker 2: of football hooliganism as well. Now tonight thousands of police
- 0:54Speaker 2: are having to be deployed to the stad of France
- 0:55Speaker 2: in Paris to ensure security because France is playing Israel.
- 1:00Speaker 2: There is a guide though from the Israeli government advising
- 1:05Speaker 2: people not to really attend the match. The stadium can
- 1:08Speaker 2: hold eighty thousand, it's only going to be about a
- 1:10Speaker 2: quarter full for this UA for Nations League game. It's expected,
- 1:16Speaker 2: after that guidance from the Israeli government, no more than
- 1:18Speaker 2: one hundred or so Israeli fans are actually expected to
- 1:21Speaker 2: travel to Paris, though there might be some Israelis in
- 1:24Speaker 2: the city that decided to pitch up. But the stand
- 1:26Speaker 2: of France is itself in an area of Paris which
- 1:29Speaker 2: has a big Arab population, big Arab North African population,
- 1:34Speaker 2: and so the police taking no chances with security tonight.
- 1:37Speaker 1: All right, let's go to the Bond franchise. The producer
- 1:41Speaker 1: has given a few hints about how the Nicks Bond
- 1:43Speaker 1: might be.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. It's been quite a while since Daniel
- 1:46Speaker 2: Craig wrapped up his final Bond film, and there's been
- 1:49Speaker 2: a lot of speculation since over who will take it over.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Barbara Broccoli, who is the part of the family that
- 1:55Speaker 2: owns the rights to the movies. They've produced them going
- 1:58Speaker 2: back decades now, she's given an interview in which she
- 2:01Speaker 2: says the next actor not an actress, so she's clarified it.
- 2:05Speaker 2: James One will still stay male, will need to be
- 2:08Speaker 2: in his thirties, could be of any race, but will
- 2:11Speaker 2: need to be young enough to be able to sort
- 2:12Speaker 2: of carry the franchise for around a decade at least.
- 2:17Speaker 2: You know, Daniel Craig was cast all the way back
- 2:19Speaker 2: in about two thousand and forty thousand and five. He
- 2:22Speaker 2: did I think five films in the end, finishing up,
- 2:25Speaker 2: you know, two three years ago with no time to die.
- 2:29Speaker 2: The franchise, that sort of studio MGM has been bought
- 2:33Speaker 2: by Amazon in recent years and they're looking to try
- 2:36Speaker 2: and do what they always do with Marvel and Star Wars.
- 2:38Speaker 2: They're trying to really build it out and build it
- 2:41Speaker 2: out into some sort of mega franchise. So the producers
- 2:43Speaker 2: saying that they're going to need someone, a man young
- 2:47Speaker 2: enough to be able to sort of carry that for
- 2:48Speaker 2: a number of years, because we saw from Daniel Craig
- 2:51Speaker 2: it's pretty physically demanding and if you get injured, as
- 2:54Speaker 2: he did several times, it can really stall back production.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Well, if they need a white man in his duties,
- 2:59Speaker 1: I think they've found them. Thank you so much for that,
- 3:02Speaker 1: Evince and macaviny a UK, you're a correspondent.
