  Now, let's get into some of the SpaceX news that's going on with
• 0:58
  the Falcon 9 rocket. Rocket.

  Now, so Falcon 9 sends people to the International Space Station.
• 1:05
  And on top of the Falcon 9, there is a crew Dragon capsule,
• 1:09
  and there's a company called axioms space, which kind of
• 1:14
  Charters flights to the International Space Station
• 1:18
  through space X. So they they get the astronauts,
• 1:22
  the people who want to become astronauts, those people, pay
• 1:26
  money to Axiom. Axiom is kind of like a travel
• 1:30
  agent in between SpaceX and these people.
• 1:35
  So just recently, Saudi Arabia, is they plan to launch two
• 1:41
  astronauts to the International Space Station aboard.
• 1:44
  A crew Dragon capsule from spacex's Falcon 9 rocket, and
• 1:52
  this will become The latest golf nation, which they kind of like
• 1:58
  strengthen the ties with private u.s. space companies.
• 2:02
  And this is a good thing. Saudi Arabia, has a lot of
• 2:06
  money. So you know, certain certain
• 2:09
  places in Saudi Arabia, have a lot of money, a lot of people
• 2:11
  want to go to space and they want to become astronauts.
• 2:14
  They want to go to the International Space Station,
• 2:15
  that I think it's adventure of a lifetime.
• 2:18
  So to speak and some of these plan to trips, maybe not this
• 2:23
  one. There's going to be more details
• 2:24
  about this. Trip coming up later.
• 2:26
  But some of these trips are between 10 days and a whole
• 2:31
  month and the people that go there.
• 2:34
  Don't just go to the International Space Station to
• 2:37
  hang out. They don't go there to, you
• 2:40
  know, eat astronaut ice cream and like Star gaze out the
• 2:45
  window though. That is part of it, you know,
• 2:47
  maybe not the astronaut ice cream part because they don't
• 2:50
  really do that anymore. They tried that a long time ago
• 2:53
  and the astronauts didn't like it.
• 2:55
  The NASA astronauts didn't like that so now they don't really
• 2:58
  get astronaut ice cream on the International Space Station but
• 3:01
  people private citizens do go to the International Space Station
• 3:06
  and this is one of the the instances that this that they do
• 3:10
  this with. So they've signed a deal a
• 3:14
  private deal earlier this year with Houston's Axiom space and
• 3:21
  like I said before they arranged in manage private missions to
• 3:24
  the US. From the u.s. to the
• 3:27
  International Space Station for space tourists now, under this
• 3:31
  deal to Saudi astronauts will ride.
• 3:35
  Spacex's crewed. Dragon capsule to the space
• 3:37
  station for about a week and that's going to be happening
• 3:42
  early next year. They'd be the first from their
• 3:46
  country to go into space aboard. A private spacecraft sews.
• 3:49
  Private spaceflight is almost a new thing.
• 3:53
  People have been doing it. Since way back, when Russia used
• 3:57
  to lease out flights to the International Space Station on
• 4:01
  their soyuz. Rockets some famous people spent
• 4:04
  millions of dollars to go to the International Space Station and
• 4:07
  go to space and now u.s. is SpaceX is doing something
• 4:12
  similar. So this could cost you know, a
• 4:15
  couple million dollars. We're not sure what Axiom space
• 4:18
  charges, but Axiom space kind of barters these deals and they
• 4:22
  work with SpaceX to train these astronauts It's as well because
• 4:26
  when you go to space it's a pretty grueling thing for the
• 4:28
  body. And when you get to the
• 4:31
  International Space Station less gravity, your body acts weird
• 4:36
  and they have to get them prepared for not only star
• 4:39
  gazing out the windows and you know, Earth gazing as well and
• 4:42
  moon gazing but also They're going to be doing tasks, they're
• 4:47
  more than likely, you know, they're going to be helping out
• 4:49
  fellow astronauts, whether it's going to be in a key role,
• 4:53
  probably not but giving them something to do while they go to
• 4:56
  the International Space Station, that's important as well.

  Actually of space though. They're working with SpaceX on
• 5:03
  these trips for a now. Axiom space is actually working
• 5:07
  on their own International Space Station.
• 5:09
  They're working on their own private facility in space where
• 5:12
  they will charter flights. From Earth all the way to their
• 5:18
  space station. So this is kind of their dipping
• 5:21
  their toe in so to speak and getting their feet wet for
• 5:24
  spaceflight and for their future space station.
• 5:29
  Axiom space about this potential flight.
• 5:34
  They didn't comment on this but officials with the Saudi space
• 5:37
  commission, space station space agency found in 2018 were not
• 5:42
  available for comment as well. So Private us companies have
• 5:47
  increasingly played a key role in sending astronauts to the
• 5:51
  International Space Station as NASA.
• 5:54
  Usually does it. But now NASA is pretty much set
• 6:01
  their sights on sending people back to the moon and they look
• 6:05
  to commercializing the International Space Station and
• 6:08
  other forms of space transport because they want to focus on
• 6:13
  the bigger ideas. Sending people back to the Moon,
• 6:17
  sending people back, sending people to Mars, not back to
• 6:20
  Mars, but sending people to Mars in general.
• 6:23
  And also partnering with private companies, like Boeing to make
• 6:27
  the SLS rocket that giant 322 foot rocket that's down at Cape
• 6:31
  Canaveral right now. Well down at the cape I should
• 6:33
  say and they're getting ready to launch that for a round-trip
• 6:39
  Journey, you know, around the moon and come back down.
• 6:42
  So they start in Florida and the end off the Coast of San Diego,
• 6:47
  California. Now, during this time, the
• 6:50
  rocket will be flying 25,000 miles per hour, and it will be
• 6:56
  heated to approximately 5,000 degrees fahrenheit as the
• 7:01
  capsule comes back down into the Earth's atmosphere.
• 7:04
  Now, this is different than a Dragon capsule, but that's for
• 7:07
  the SLS rocket and the first Artemis One mission.
• 7:10
  And this is kind of we're talking about a few things here,
• 7:13
  but the SLS mission is Kind of in Jeopardy right now, due to
• 7:18
  Hurricane Ian. That's coming into the coast of
• 7:21
  Florida. Sometime the week of the 26th of
• 7:26
  September 26. So they're expecting.
• 7:30
  High winds, heavy rain, and they may have to move the SLS rocket
• 7:35
  back to the the Vehicle Assembly Building and they're still
• 7:40
  trying to figure that out and that may be happening.
• 7:45
  Inning, as soon as Monday, or Tuesday, the 26th, or 27th of
• 7:50
  September 20 22. And if that's to happen, this

  So NASA doesn't really work with SpaceX to send Private

  astronauts. Other than that, SpaceX is using

  their pad pad 39a at Kennedy Space Center for these flights.

  So, Axiom space already, did one of these flights earlier this

  year and they continue to book more flights on these.

  And they they split the profits with SpaceX.

  You know, it's not just Axiom, space getting all the money.

  The people pay Axiom, space, immense Axiom, space is like,
• 11:13
  okay, we have these two clients that To go to the International
• 11:16
  Space Station. I know your price is x amount of
• 11:19
  money. So how much is it?
• 11:22
  How much do we owe you SpaceX? Because SpaceX right now is just
• 11:25
  kind of a bus, you know, they send you to one part.

  Of the of the world. I guess it's not on the world.

  It's off world. They send you off world and then
• 11:38
  they bust you back to Earth. So they're kind of the bus, the
• 11:43
  bus drivers, this whole thing. So, Axiom space is just in there
• 11:49
  in between, so SpaceX makes a little money.

  Axiom space makes a little bit of money.
• 11:54
  Axiom, space needs to make money in order to build their space
• 11:57
  station, and that's why these flights are key to the future of
• 12:00
  that. And this is sort of, you know,
• 12:04
  it's a unique role and it's it's cool because it's kind of a
• 12:09
  diplomatic role as well because NASA doesn't allow other
• 12:15
  countries to fly on the on the SLS unless they're in the
• 12:21
  Artemis Accords. So this is kind of like a
• 12:24
  private company doing private things with another private
• 12:26
  company with private citizens. So it's all privatized, but
• 12:30
  using NASA's facilities to launch the rocket space station.
• 12:34
  It's about football sized football field size.
• 12:37
  It's about 250 miles above the Earth and it's been in business
• 12:42
  for about 20 years. But just recently Private
• 12:45
  Industry has been taking over parts of the International.
• 12:47
  Space Station to send these people via SpaceX in Axiom and
• 12:54
  Saudi astronauts will join two previously announced Americans
• 12:58
  NASA astronaut. Peggy Whitson who's Tired and
• 13:03
  race car driver an investor John.
• 13:04
  Schaffner the mission which is a X1 or X2 will be the second
• 13:10
  spaceflight arranged by Axiom space and the private astronauts
• 13:14
  Ward ax to have yet to be approved by a mass that shared
• 13:17
  panel of the space station is participating, stakeholders and
• 13:20
  countries, such as Russia, Canada, Japan and Esa the
• 13:24
  European Space Agency, the official word from NASA added
• 13:30
  that the mission is like Likely to receive approval.
• 13:34
  So, that's a good thing, because we need more of these private
• 13:37
  flights to go to the International Space Station, and
• 13:39
  for Axiom, and other companies, if you cut deals with foreign
• 13:43
  governments, it's seen as vital to sustaining a business center
• 13:47
  on putting people in space because not all rich people live
• 13:50
  in the United States. Putting people into space.
• 13:53
  It's a luxury for the wealthy Adventure Seekers, and it's a
• 13:57
  source for National Prestige and aspiration.

  For aspiring space powers, like, Saudi Arabia, you know, axioms
• 14:06
  been around for a little bit and they've launched their first
• 14:09
  private mission to the space station and April of this year.
• 14:12
  They've said for people to the space station aboard, a SpaceX
• 14:16
  crew Dragon capsule, that included a Canadian investor in
• 14:19
  an Israeli businessman. An axiom announced a deal with
• 14:24
  turkey to launch the country's first two astronauts into space
• 14:28
  in late 2023. There will likely be Mission
• 14:32
  EX3. So we're not sure what x 3 will
• 14:36
  be, but it's possible that it could be an orbital Mission, but
• 14:41
  also, they may be going to the International Space Station, but
• 14:43
  we'll see when they announce all the participants and the mission
• 14:48
  critical information for a X3. Axioms astronaut flight business
• 14:53
  is crucial to broaden axioms business as well because they're
• 14:59
  going to make money off every one of these launches.

  And if they can show that they are sustainable and that they
• 15:05
  can make money through these launches, they're going to get
• 15:08
  more investor money for their space station going forward.

  I know this isn't SpaceX heavy as far as podcast go but it is a
• 15:17
  very important mission for SpaceX all of these axioms
• 15:20
  space. missions are super important for SpaceX because in
• 15:23
  the future, Axiom space, Maybe maybe the private company, that
• 15:32
  books, Starship flights as well. So they could books book,
• 15:36
  Starship flights. They could possibly book
• 15:38
  Starship flights around the Moon and back for future astronauts.
• 15:44
  And if they want to put 12 13 people to go around the Moon and
• 15:47
  back, you know, it's going to take about 40 days to do that.
• 15:52
  So 40 days, 40 nights in this Arc, going around the Moon and
• 15:58
  back. That's a very impressive thing.

  And there's going to be some people that will want to do
• 16:03
  this, of course, but they're going to need people from all
• 16:06
  over the world to buy into this because if you need 40 people to
• 16:10
  do it. So if you need 13, 12 13 people
• 16:12
  to do it. Some of these people that went
• 16:14
  up to space recently. They're going to have to wait
• 16:17
  for the Starship to be ready. In that may take 10 years for it
• 16:22
  to be absolutely perfectly ready for human space flight, that's
• 16:26
  not just lunar space flight, but taking off from taking people,
• 16:31
  from the surface of the Earth around the Moon and back and
• 16:35
  eventually private citizens going to the surface of the
• 16:37
  Moon. So Axiom of space, may be able
• 16:40
  to help book those trips in the future.
