The Downfall of King Saul
We read in the first reading of the mass today about the fall from grace of King Saul. The cause was his disobedience to the command of God. He disguised his disobedience by citing his good intentions. However, the prophet Samuel points out the utter disobedience of the king. He was punished for that.
