- 0:03SPEAKER_01: She goes, Watch out, Nithaca.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: We were talking about the it's Speed Week and watch out Nithaca.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: They're switching over 118 signs, making it from 30 to 25 miles an hour.
- 0:11SPEAKER_01: You might as well park your car and get out and walk.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: You'll get across Ithaca quicker, right?
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: Let's just bike it.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: So at any rate, I had made the comment.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: I said, How about instead of spending the money on that, you actually fix up 13 as you go through?
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: You know where I'm talking, the main drag.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: After you get into town, there's a Home Depot, then you start seeing all the Maguire.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: And another Maguire.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And another one.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: And wait another Maguire.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Wait two more Maguire's.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: And then you, you know, you start climbing the hill out until you wave at one last Maguire.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Uh and uh so I Is there Maguire in this town?
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Is there?
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Uh in Ithaca?
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: They may as well change the name.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Yep, right.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Maguire, New York.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Mythica.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Mythica.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: So at any rate, I said that road is like the stupid surface of the moon.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Why don't you deal with that instead of switching this to the point where I can why even have a car to drive up there?
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Well then Beth goes, all right, 13 is under construction.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: I forgot about that.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: We went through Ithaca not that long ago.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Is it the actual main part where all the businesses are that they're working on?
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's the part.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Well, then that takes me to this.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: You asked the question, what are you putting off?
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Because I put off buying these dolly decorations and I'm kicking myself.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: It is September 23rd.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: It is gonna snow in two weeks, and we just got around to starting some road work.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Well, they've been working on a put-off.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: They've been working on the miracle mile for the past six.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: That's a whole bridge replacement.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know, so that you don't careen into the railroad tracks underneath you.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: There is some other construction I wanted to note too when I was coming to work, and I don't know if they're only doing it overnight, but it is if you're off at exit 52B, right around there, it also uh 52B either way, they're doing some construction, and it's kind of like uh as if you're going into horse heads.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Um, or if as if you were going to get on the highway, it's that little notch right there.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: So basically it's an orange barrel city right now.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: It is, and there was lots of lights this morning.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm just you know, it proves the point of what are you putting off?
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Couldn't he have done that in May, July?
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, speaking of might have been smarter.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Putting off cleaning the Airbnb.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: We have a guest coming later this week, and I just don't want to do it.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: I get it.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: I do I don't have an Airbnb, but I understand that.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Or well, even if you're having guests come to stay, you you know, I know you've had friends come to stay.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: I've had friends come to come to stay, and I'm like, uh I don't want to clean our own.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: I know, and that's the thing.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: All of a sudden, two days in advance, you're like, oh crap, I gotta and then you stop at one point, you're like, Well, I can finish that tomorrow.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, I know.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: And then you're just cleaning it just for them to mess it back up.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Anyway, Pony Joe says, uh, put off the gym when the weather was good because I've been doing some outside work.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, this was my excuse back in the day when I used to go to the gym.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: I know it's hard to believe, but uh what I that would be the thing.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Like come summertime, the last place I wanted to be was in the gym.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, I know.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Which is kind of nice.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: I could walk around the neighborhood, did I?
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: No.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: It's kind of nice when you are a gym goer and there's no one there.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, that doesn't really work out great for the owner of the gym, but I kind of like it because I'm like, to myself.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Oh the machines.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Yes, I don't have to weigh anybody all uh putting anything off this morning.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Um I've been putting two things off.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: I've got to paint my living room, have to do it, and right now is the time.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: When do you have to do a buy?
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't have a specific time, it just drives me nuts that we haven't gotten to it because we just have to make a list first.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, and uh I have to stay on my kitchen floor and stuff like that again.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: You've been saying this since the summertime.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: You know, it's funny.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: You and I have talked how many times about like, wow, this is kind of a weird little side hustle that Scott picked up learning how to do, actually from our contractor Bo.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: He taught me.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Yes, and my friend Sarah has been trying to hire you.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: It is the biggest, it's not pain in the butt, it is the revenue.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Once I'm doing it, I'm fine.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: It's kind of oddly satisfying because uh Scott did it at my at my old house.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: And um, it was awesome to watch it, to see all that you see the change of one wood to the other.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: It's just it's getting in that's like changing relationships if you're a female.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Yes, uh, and in a voice.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Uh it's uh the problem is getting ramped into doing it.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: I gotta go to get the rent, the the machine, and I gotta I know it's gonna dedicate a whole weekend.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: That's where I stop, but I'm like, I really gotta do this.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I do want to say one last thing.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: You made us brisket soup yesterday.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: That was the best soup I've ever had.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: And I keep telling Scott, uh this is I wish you guys knew this about Scott.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Meaning, like, I wish you could taste it.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Scott is an excellent cook.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And anytime you make soup, I have said this multiple times this week, and I think it's because I'm getting off of a weekend of canning.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: And I I keep telling Scott, you need to take your soups and can them.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: It's not a terrible idea.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: It's a great idea because you've already done the work.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: The canning part is I uh the actual like process of isn't that bad.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: You can probably teach me that.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yes, I could easily teach.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Let's wait on that.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: See what I just did there, I put it off.
