- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's almost famous podcast. We are here breaking down hometowns
- 0:10Speaker 2: of Jones season of The Golden Bachelorette. Ashley, I want
- 0:13Speaker 2: to start with this statement.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Okay, I love your big dramatic statements.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Isn't that like what you do in radio is.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Like the Yes, you do a great job, because I
- 0:26Speaker 3: truly get excited.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Pascal is my favorite, me too, and that takes nothing
- 0:32Speaker 2: away from the other guys that exists within this process.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I don't know if it's a recency bias because we
- 0:38Speaker 2: got to interview her his daughter, and if you haven't
- 0:40Speaker 2: listened to that, please go back to the almost humous threat.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Didn't listen to the interview with his daughter. It is awesome.
- 0:46Speaker 2: She gives us great insight into who he is as
- 0:47Speaker 2: a person, which we see a little bit of on
- 0:50Speaker 2: the show, but I think she gives us even more
- 0:52Speaker 2: details and insight during the interview. But I wasn't I'll
- 0:56Speaker 2: be honest, I wasn't convinced with Pascal. I didn't dislike him,
- 0:59Speaker 2: I just didn't. I thought he was a character more
- 1:01Speaker 2: than he was a compatible match. After our interview with her,
- 1:07Speaker 2: I walked out of that interview and I said, and
- 1:09Speaker 2: I told Jess this, I said, I think he actually
- 1:14Speaker 2: is exactly what somebody could be looking like Joan especially
- 1:17Speaker 2: is looking for in this next golden chapter.
- 1:21Speaker 4: And it showed up during this episode.
- 1:22Speaker 3: So you weren't here for Nancy's interview last week when
- 1:26Speaker 3: we recapped, and she brought that point up about how
- 1:30Speaker 3: like he's just totally different and he's kind of like
- 1:32Speaker 3: a Sex and the City character, like if it were
- 1:34Speaker 3: to happen in like the new rendition of Sex and
- 1:37Speaker 3: the City where it's like you're looking for somebody that's
- 1:40Speaker 3: not your husband who's passed away, somebody just to like
- 1:44Speaker 3: live a whole different chapter of life. And he fits
- 1:48Speaker 3: that mold perfectly. And I just saw a lot to
- 1:52Speaker 3: him during this episode because like we had the emotion
- 1:56Speaker 3: with his son and then like he is so swabe
- 1:59Speaker 3: and I know he's always been very handsome, but like it,
- 2:04Speaker 3: you know, they'll made me feel weird, like when I say,
- 2:06Speaker 3: when we talked about Mark, but like I saw Pascal
- 2:09Speaker 3: as very sexy in this episode.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I can see that. I get that.
- 2:15Speaker 2: A couple comments as we move into breaking this down
- 2:18Speaker 2: some overarching themes that came up.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Uh.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I don't want this to come off as any type
- 2:24Speaker 2: of criticism towards Joan, because I think Joan has been fantastic.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I think they're going to have a really hard time
- 2:31Speaker 2: finding a golden bachelorette that has navigated this process like Joan.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I do think they will find other golden bachelorettes who
- 2:39Speaker 2: will benefit from this process, that will find love in
- 2:43Speaker 2: this process, that will have different a different personality type,
- 2:47Speaker 2: and so there'll be different guys that they're interested in.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I think they'll be fine. Joan has been fantastic. I
- 2:52Speaker 2: think this is the second episode though, and I would
- 2:55Speaker 2: love to talk to Joan about this. I have no
- 2:57Speaker 2: clue how to relate with this because I obviously haven't
- 2:59Speaker 2: been through it. I think this is the second episode
- 3:02Speaker 2: that I asked myself, is Joan really ready?
- 3:05Speaker 4: No, I don't know if she is.
- 3:07Speaker 3: I don't think she is, and it really has been recent.
- 3:11Speaker 2: The only reason I can I feel like I can
- 3:13Speaker 2: say that is because of her comments to mark On.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I don't think we're in the same place, so my
- 3:19Speaker 2: comparison to that, which, you know, if she felt that way, great,
- 3:25Speaker 2: But now I'm watching it and I'm I'm personally thinking,
- 3:28Speaker 2: I don't see a difference between where Mark was at
- 3:30Speaker 2: and where he like and how he was feeling and
- 3:32Speaker 2: where now Joan is at, especially during this episode, because
- 3:37Speaker 2: it's consistently compared to the past, which again isn't a criticism.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I just don't know if she's ready.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I want to bring up Pascal again.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I think with Pascal, she's going to have a relationship
- 3:49Speaker 3: where it's not comparable to what she had with her husband,
- 3:52Speaker 3: which I think is what she needs because if it's
- 3:55Speaker 3: anything close to her husband, then like through the rest
- 3:57Speaker 3: of her life it's gonna be like, oh but he
- 4:00Speaker 3: did that. Oh and he did that. So I think
- 4:01Speaker 3: it's like nice to kind of like break away and
- 4:04Speaker 3: to have her have like two separate like not lives,
- 4:08Speaker 3: but you know what I mean. Also, when Pascal said
- 4:13Speaker 3: we are moved, we're like in the same place, Like
- 4:17Speaker 3: we're both not really feeling like we need to rush this,
- 4:20Speaker 3: like he was like I She's like, I know that
- 4:23Speaker 3: I'm like kind of being slow, and he's like, well,
- 4:24Speaker 3: I know that I'm kind of being slow. But I
- 4:26Speaker 3: think that we're like on the same trajectory. That was.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I was like, yes, perfect, another reason to like Pascal,
- 4:36Speaker 3: And for some reason she interprets it later in the
- 4:39Speaker 3: episode as like a warning sign, and I'm like, no, No,
- 4:43Speaker 3: girl realized that that's kind of where you're at too.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I think you're saying yes, you're putting it into better
- 4:50Speaker 2: language than I could. I didn't know what I was
- 4:52Speaker 2: exactly feeling. It's not that I don't think Joan is
- 4:55Speaker 2: ready for this experience. It's not that I don't think
- 4:58Speaker 2: Joan is going to benefit from the process. It's not
- 5:02Speaker 2: that I don't think Joan was the right choice for
- 5:04Speaker 2: the Golden Bachelorette. All those things I think are one
- 5:08Speaker 2: hundred percent the right decision by her to say yes
- 5:11Speaker 2: to it, by the show to bring her on all
- 5:12Speaker 2: those things. Mike, My point is not that she's not
- 5:17Speaker 2: ready to have an incredible next chapter. I don't think
- 5:21Speaker 2: she's ready to enter into something that feels like a
- 5:27Speaker 2: marriage or feels like that extreme commitment. I think Pascal
- 5:33Speaker 2: offers this, Hey, you and I are exclusive. You and
- 5:36Speaker 2: I are moving towards whatever we want in this next
- 5:39Speaker 2: chapter of love. I love you, I care about you,
- 5:43Speaker 2: I want to have adventures with you. I want to
- 5:45Speaker 2: experience the world with you, but this isn't going to
- 5:49Speaker 2: look like what it did before for you. And I
- 5:52Speaker 2: think that if I was sitting down with Joan at
- 5:56Speaker 2: this point the season, after watching the journey so far,
- 5:58Speaker 2: that would be what I would tell tell her is
- 6:02Speaker 2: I think this dude offers a lot of the things
- 6:04Speaker 2: you want where Chalk Chalk wants to marry this woman,
- 6:07Speaker 2: which is amazing and so fun to see. Yeah, that
- 6:10Speaker 2: he's so head over heels for her, but I think
- 6:13Speaker 2: it's going to feel like a little bit of a
- 6:17Speaker 2: like I can't catch my breath. This is a lot
- 6:19Speaker 2: really soon.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Exactly, And I think right now, especially with the persuasion
- 6:25Speaker 3: of the producers, the chalk vibe is what we are
- 6:29Speaker 3: traditionally looking for on this show. But I'm just not
- 6:32Speaker 3: sure that that's what she really needs. I think she
- 6:36Speaker 3: might be like two in bachelorette mindset.
- 6:40Speaker 2: You're right, because yes, that's interesting that you say that,
- 6:43Speaker 2: because you see the bachelorette language. Come up now for
- 6:46Speaker 2: the next episode, I'm going to leave here with nobody.
- 6:49Speaker 2: And it's like, if you do, is that big a deal? Joan,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Like you're you have a great life, You're thriving, Like,
- 6:54Speaker 2: if none of these guys are for you, Gary said it, right,
- 6:57Speaker 2: Trista kind of said it, like, if none of these
- 6:59Speaker 2: guys are for you, you, this is different. You know,
- 7:02Speaker 2: this is a whole different thing. You know you're worthy
- 7:04Speaker 2: of love. You know you can give love. You know
- 7:07Speaker 2: you haven't a family that is like so in love
- 7:09Speaker 2: with you. You have grand kids, Like.
- 7:10Speaker 4: You're fine. Love exists in your world.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah, if you leave here with nobody, if that is
- 7:16Speaker 2: the best decision for you, that's okay. What I'm concerned about,
- 7:21Speaker 2: what I would be as a viewer and as a
- 7:23Speaker 2: huge Jon fan. What I am most concerned about at
- 7:26Speaker 2: this point is that she is going to say yes
- 7:30Speaker 2: to something that is going to feel like too much
- 7:35Speaker 2: as soon as the public starts knowing about it.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Yeah. Another thing about Chock, just because he does feel
- 7:42Speaker 3: like a lot, he's he's not I don't like, I
- 7:46Speaker 3: don't want to use the expression, but maybe I will.
- 7:48Speaker 3: It's a kind of like love bombing. Okay. He's coming
- 7:51Speaker 3: on really strong. Mostly in last week's episode when they
- 7:55Speaker 3: were bowling now, he was like saying certain things like
- 7:58Speaker 3: what'sida of the bad news? I talked about this with
- 8:01Speaker 3: Nancy now that kind of like I gotten messages on
- 8:06Speaker 3: Instagram that was like, yeah, Chuck is giving me the ick,
- 8:09Speaker 3: and it's just because I think it's just like a
- 8:11Speaker 3: little bit too much and I don't want her to
- 8:15Speaker 3: have that like I'm being smothered with love feeling when
- 8:19Speaker 3: she's done with this, because I just don't think that
- 8:22Speaker 3: she's in the right place for that.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Can I bring up.
- 8:28Speaker 2: A thought that I don't know to be true and
- 8:31Speaker 2: I want you to argue with me about it, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: I want our listeners to argue with me about it
- 8:35Speaker 2: if they don't agree with it. Is there a level?
- 8:39Speaker 2: You know, as we get older, we in a lot
- 8:42Speaker 2: of ways kind of get younger, right, and you need
- 8:45Speaker 2: more people taking care of you again, right, You need support,
- 8:50Speaker 2: You're looking for love, You're looking to be around like
- 8:52Speaker 2: friends and community, And as you get older, you kind of, yes,
- 8:56Speaker 2: you've matured in so many ways and you have life
- 8:59Speaker 2: experience to lean on, but you kind of go back
- 9:02Speaker 2: to your younger years and the same, you know, sentiment.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I wonder if Chalk, for example, because he has fallen
- 9:15Speaker 2: in love and now been out of love and kind
- 9:18Speaker 2: of taking a break in between and he's not in
- 9:20Speaker 2: that kind of dating have that dating muscle, that love muscle,
- 9:24Speaker 2: you know that you experience as you're kind of exploring
- 9:26Speaker 2: other people and you're trying to figure out what you're
- 9:27Speaker 2: looking for as a partner.
- 9:29Speaker 3: He has no chill.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, no, exactly like that. He's like overly excited. He
- 9:34Speaker 2: doesn't know how to walk through this solely because like
- 9:39Speaker 2: he said, and I think it's sweet.
- 9:42Speaker 4: He doesn't give me the dick. I do think it's sweet.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I think he looks at Joan and says, you are
- 9:47Speaker 2: everything I've ever dreamed of. I want to give you
- 9:51Speaker 2: the world. I want to spin my world with you.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I want to do all the things, which is sweet.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I just don't know if that's what Joan wants.
- 10:00Speaker 3: She thinks that she wants it though right now.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Yes, I think she thinks that she wants it.
- 10:04Speaker 2: But I, like I said that, if I sat down
- 10:07Speaker 2: with her and had a heart to heart, it would
- 10:09Speaker 2: be Joan, do you really want that?
- 10:12Speaker 4: Do you want that? Or do you just want a
- 10:16Speaker 4: lot of fun?
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah? Do you want fun and companionship?
- 10:19Speaker 4: Yeah? I don't know. I can't speak for Joan there.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Now, this is a viewer my perspective as we sit
- 10:24Speaker 2: here after hometown's and after seeing some great you know
- 10:28Speaker 2: dates go go on, Let's start with kind of like
- 10:31Speaker 2: lightly then breaking down each day. We start this episode
- 10:34Speaker 2: with guy Guy's families involved.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I can't get over the fact that this
- 10:40Speaker 3: guy's still here. This guy is still here, and he's
- 10:43Speaker 3: at the end of the episode still here.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Interesting kind of perspective is you know this. I looked
- 11:01Speaker 2: into it last night. It's not a secret at this
- 11:04Speaker 2: point that you know, he has had complaints. There was
- 11:08Speaker 2: a temporary restraining order that was filed or asked to
- 11:12Speaker 2: be filed against him. The details of this are a
- 11:15Speaker 2: little murky. It's hard to really understand kind of where
- 11:18Speaker 2: this fell out. But it was with his ex wife.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Okay, oh, it was with the ex wife. Interesting.
- 11:25Speaker 2: The interesting part of this is his kids were there,
- 11:27Speaker 2: which I'm assuming the mother is his ex wife, and
- 11:31Speaker 2: they were very supportive of their father. So I don't know, like,
- 11:36Speaker 2: I don't know the details of this whole thing. It's
- 11:38Speaker 2: hard to understand online even I'm not a legal expert,
- 11:42Speaker 2: but she obviously sees something in him. And here's my point,
- 11:45Speaker 2: how could she not he picked her up on a
- 11:48Speaker 2: boat and went across Lake Tahoe. You and I've spent
- 11:51Speaker 2: time on Lake Tahoe together. Yeah, that place is beautiful. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 2: like you want to feel like you're going to live
- 11:56Speaker 2: the dream. I know, like that date set up, out
- 12:01Speaker 2: of all the dates to it, it felt like it
- 12:05Speaker 2: was set up to be the date, the date that
- 12:08Speaker 2: makes everything make sense. But obviously you have this shadow
- 12:13Speaker 2: over it right now, with the past, you know coming out.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't watch him the same exactly.
- 12:21Speaker 4: That's a good point. You can't watch it the same.
- 12:23Speaker 3: And I'm not sure that like much of the audience
- 12:26Speaker 3: knows about this one. This one has definitely been more
- 12:29Speaker 3: under the radar than Gil and of course further further
- 12:33Speaker 3: further under the radar than Devin.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Where's Devon at these days?
- 12:39Speaker 3: I know, you know, Devin, Like five minutes before we
- 12:41Speaker 3: started this, I was like, wow, talk about just like disappearing,
- 12:45Speaker 3: which is a good thing there, I was, so I
- 12:48Speaker 3: was kind of like looking into it a little bit
- 12:50Speaker 3: too deeply, perhaps, but like the family does allude to
- 12:56Speaker 3: him going through some rough times, like we're glad you're
- 12:59Speaker 3: you know, seeing you're getting over the tough times. That's all.
- 13:05Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, so maybe he had some behavioral
- 13:08Speaker 3: issues after that divorce. But yeah, I just can't. I
- 13:14Speaker 3: can't watch him without knowing that there was some sort
- 13:17Speaker 3: of altercation with a former lover and now me learning
- 13:23Speaker 3: that it was his wife, and like there's just something
- 13:26Speaker 3: behind that calm. So I like kind of freaked out
- 13:29Speaker 3: because he's so calm, he's so that I'm like, there's
- 13:32Speaker 3: something hiding behind that.
- 13:36Speaker 4: It's hard to watch it the same way.
- 13:37Speaker 3: I have one more thing to say, because beyond me
- 13:41Speaker 3: feeling not that I mean know ma me feeling weird
- 13:43Speaker 3: because they're there's some legal thing, I also just do
- 13:47Speaker 3: not feel it between the two of them, and I've
- 13:49Speaker 3: never seen somebody yet this far where i feel no connection.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that feels like they haven't quite taken the step
- 13:59Speaker 2: like the Pascals of the world. Even though you know,
- 14:02Speaker 2: I did view him as a character for a bit
- 14:05Speaker 2: at least, there's been moments where you're like, she's into it,
- 14:09Speaker 2: like she's having fun with this. Obviously, Chalk and her
- 14:11Speaker 2: have had some really great moments. I would say Jordan here,
- 14:15Speaker 2: it would also be one nice I felt it. Yeah, Yeah,
- 14:19Speaker 2: it kind of feels like he's just a great choice
- 14:22Speaker 2: and he was a nice nice.
- 14:26Speaker 4: But I'm with you.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I think that the two at the top, or Pascal
- 14:29Speaker 2: and Chalk here when it comes to the connection that exists.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I just did confirm that it is a Yes, it
- 14:35Speaker 2: was with his ex wife, and so we were not
- 14:37Speaker 2: speaking out a turn there. It was late when I
- 14:41Speaker 2: was looking at this online. I just want to make
- 14:43Speaker 2: sure that I read things right way, because oftentimes I don't.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Okay.
- 14:47Speaker 2: The next date that we see on this show is
- 14:51Speaker 2: with Pascal, correct, correct.
- 14:54Speaker 3: And it was the standout date for you for me,
- 15:00Speaker 3: such as a salon. You can just feel the energy
- 15:03Speaker 3: is so positive and comfortable, and you are getting a
- 15:07Speaker 3: taste in the life that she would have, right you
- 15:13Speaker 3: are getting a taste of the life that she would
- 15:15Speaker 3: have with him, and it is posh, lucks and just
- 15:20Speaker 3: exactly what I'd want in my sixties. She's getting her
- 15:24Speaker 3: hand rubbed with Champagne. He's taken her around his fancy
- 15:28Speaker 3: vehicle that is his bachelor pad. Because you know, sometimes
- 15:31Speaker 3: they show the homes are different people's homes, they confirm
- 15:34Speaker 3: that that's his home. I don't know. This seems like
- 15:37Speaker 3: a nice life good looking family, good looking family. He's
- 15:42Speaker 3: just so swave. He feels manly in this episode, which
- 15:46Speaker 3: is a little bit different than what he's felt like.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Remember how we asked his daughter last week if like
- 15:51Speaker 3: he felt like if she felt like her dad was metro.
- 15:54Speaker 3: In this way, he actually feels very masculine. He's not.
- 15:59Speaker 3: He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that's you know,
- 16:01Speaker 3: putting his pinky finger up when he's drinking. Here, he
- 16:04Speaker 3: feels like he.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Is a leading man with a big personality.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah, with a big personality, big charisma, and everybody around
- 16:12Speaker 3: him likes to be around him.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's interesting.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I saw golden Bachelor during this episode because of just
- 16:22Speaker 2: his his energy level and his excitement. I don't, you know,
- 16:26Speaker 2: obviously know how this ends. I have not been spoiled.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I'm still you know, it's hard for me to believe
- 16:32Speaker 2: that it's not chalk at the end. Yeah, just based
- 16:34Speaker 2: on how everything's led up to this point. However, You're right,
- 16:38Speaker 2: he was. This was a fun date. It was a
- 16:41Speaker 2: fun vibe and can you imagine again going into you
- 16:46Speaker 2: know this world. She travels into Chicago to see her
- 16:50Speaker 2: you know, husband, boyfriend. Whatever they end up being at
- 16:52Speaker 2: the end, and she stops into the salon and has
- 16:56Speaker 2: all the girl chat with you know, thirty women, and
- 17:00Speaker 2: she has some champagne and then they go out to
- 17:02Speaker 2: a fancy dinner and then the next day they jump
- 17:04Speaker 2: on a flight to Paris. Like that feels like the
- 17:06Speaker 2: life they could live. It sounds fun, it sounds exciting.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I think he also, and I'd say, you see it
- 17:16Speaker 2: in his eyes, you see it in emotion this episode.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I do think he deeply cares about Joan. I don't
- 17:23Speaker 2: know where that leads to, and I do think he's
- 17:27Speaker 2: hesitant to to take too many steps because, as he said,
- 17:30Speaker 2: he's been hurt deeply before. But I do think he
- 17:34Speaker 2: really cares about Joan, and I think it's a care
- 17:36Speaker 2: that is different than most where it's just like I
- 17:39Speaker 2: like this woman. I think I can have fun with
- 17:41Speaker 2: this woman. She's you know, she compliments me in so
- 17:46Speaker 2: many ways. And I also think that there is a
- 17:49Speaker 2: level too where I think Joan's a big personality, But
- 17:53Speaker 2: I think it's been hard for her to show that
- 17:57Speaker 2: too much during this season because I think it has
- 17:59Speaker 2: been an internal struggle for most of it for her,
- 18:02Speaker 2: where she hasn't just been able to take a deep
- 18:04Speaker 2: breath and be like, what him, you know, let me
- 18:06Speaker 2: just have fun with this. I think a lot of
- 18:08Speaker 2: it is reminding her of the past, and that's tough
- 18:11Speaker 2: for sure.
- 18:13Speaker 3: And I will say I felt a little bit concerned
- 18:17Speaker 3: just seeing his lifestyle, like him in his element that like,
- 18:21Speaker 3: perhaps he is a little bit of a playboy.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I don't think he is. I think his kids would.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I mean, obviously we met Natalie, but his son was
- 18:32Speaker 3: so sweet.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, his son is the like I grew up with
- 18:36Speaker 2: every Chicago like a ton of Chicago people. His son
- 18:38Speaker 2: is every Chicago human. Yeah, like they are that human.
- 18:43Speaker 2: What you just saw there is a Chicago guy. I'm
- 18:45Speaker 2: sure he had a lot of fun. Why his dad
- 18:47Speaker 2: was gone, I'm sure it was the past few months
- 18:49Speaker 2: of his life to open up the bachelor pad to
- 18:53Speaker 2: his friends and you know, coworkers. His son was very sweet.
- 18:58Speaker 2: The moment between the two of them was all awesome.
- 19:00Speaker 2: It was just any moment where a dad can look
- 19:03Speaker 2: at his sun and be like, I'm proud of you.
- 19:04Speaker 2: It's just such a cool thing. I don't think he
- 19:09Speaker 2: is a playboy. I think you can get that vibe
- 19:11Speaker 2: from him. I do think his daughter would have told us,
- 19:14Speaker 2: or she wouldn't have been so invested into signing him up.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Why would you want to sign your dad up? Yeah,
- 19:21Speaker 2: if you knew he was just out there living his
- 19:23Speaker 2: life in Chicago dating every you know, person that existed.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he probably has that past, which is like why
- 19:30Speaker 3: it comes across like very naturally for him. Yeah, not real,
- 19:34Speaker 3: but like he just doesn't want it for the future.
- 19:36Speaker 3: He's probably just tired of it. I mean, because that
- 19:38Speaker 3: does get tiring. I was gonna say, and let's not
- 19:41Speaker 3: forget these people in their sixties.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like at some point you're like, I'm exhausted, I mean,
- 19:45Speaker 2: like gotten too tired. One Yeah, that's I'm good for now.
- 20:00Speaker 2: The next day that we see Jordan still in Chicago,
- 20:03Speaker 2: Chicago's looking beautiful.
- 20:05Speaker 4: It is a ton of fun. It's a great city
- 20:06Speaker 4: if you haven't been.
- 20:07Speaker 3: How nice for everybody to be able to do two
- 20:10Speaker 3: days in Chicago, hang out.
- 20:12Speaker 4: For almost a full week in Chicago.
- 20:13Speaker 3: What a dream, What a great time of year to
- 20:15Speaker 3: be there.
- 20:16Speaker 4: It was awesome.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Now Jordan has been the one out of all four
- 20:19Speaker 2: of these guys that I was like, hey, he seems great.
- 20:23Speaker 2: This isn't going to work. No, there is nothing here.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Well, I feel very tied between him and and Guy.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I just feel like the two of them just both
- 20:34Speaker 3: like was like, let's just x them out.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, Jordan's family is super sweet. Not a ton to
- 20:40Speaker 2: come from this date for me. Outside of his family
- 20:42Speaker 2: being very sweet, his family also being very clear that
- 20:46Speaker 2: their dad is not is not somebody who expresses himself,
- 20:51Speaker 2: especially romantically, very easily or often. And I think we've
- 20:57Speaker 2: seen that this season. I think that's been very clear.
- 21:00Speaker 3: He's never said I'm like in love with somebody since
- 21:03Speaker 3: the mom It's been ten years, and I just I
- 21:07Speaker 3: actually just don't think that he felt it with her.
- 21:10Speaker 3: I think that he was like, this is a really
- 21:12Speaker 3: pretty nice lady, and I like hanging out with her,
- 21:14Speaker 3: and if she wants to like hang out more, sounds
- 21:17Speaker 3: good to me. But I just because he didn't even
- 21:19Speaker 3: seem that disappointed when he got eliminated.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I think he saw the writing on the wall.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I think he also has been around the house for
- 21:26Speaker 2: long enough to know that there's the Chalks of the
- 21:28Speaker 2: world who were very who are very invested. Yeah, and
- 21:32Speaker 2: he's like, I'm not close to being there in fact,
- 21:35Speaker 2: I haven't really told her I like her yet.
- 21:38Speaker 4: We've had one date.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Like, I'm good here and I'm not ready to make
- 21:42Speaker 2: these big leaps and bounds. But I think it was
- 21:47Speaker 2: is a great choice for the Top four because he's
- 21:49Speaker 2: a good guy who's fun to be around. They enjoyed
- 21:54Speaker 2: each other's company, and I think Joan was like, if
- 21:58Speaker 2: it's anybody here at this point, this dude feels like
- 22:00Speaker 2: one that I'd like to hang out with for another day.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a good date.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Let me just say that. I feel like the timeframe
- 22:09Speaker 3: with Golden really kicks in at Hometowns because it's a
- 22:13Speaker 3: couple of weeks shorter filming. It's weird to be bringing
- 22:17Speaker 3: these guys home after such little time with them. I
- 22:20Speaker 3: feel like, do.
- 22:22Speaker 4: You I do?
- 22:24Speaker 2: I mean, I honestly would argue that hometowns could be
- 22:26Speaker 2: early in the season on every season.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I almost feel like we okay, all right, Well.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Just because I think it's so valuable, it's so important.
- 22:35Speaker 2: They're fun, they're unique, and you get a picture of
- 22:40Speaker 2: each other's lives, and I think for me, at least,
- 22:43Speaker 2: hometowns have always been at place where you learn so
- 22:48Speaker 2: much more in such a short amount of time about
- 22:49Speaker 2: that human that I would argue hometowns, if it was
- 22:52Speaker 2: logistically possible, could exist within the first couple, like first
- 22:56Speaker 2: month of the show, just so you can be like, yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 4: You know what, I don't really like that. Family freaks
- 23:01Speaker 4: me out.
- 23:03Speaker 3: You know, maybe you're right because when I when Jared
- 23:07Speaker 3: and I were just off the first Paradise and I
- 23:11Speaker 3: kind of formed a hometown date for us and like
- 23:14Speaker 3: a whole bunch of other people from the show. But
- 23:16Speaker 3: Jared came and slept over at my parents' house with
- 23:19Speaker 3: about eight other people from that season of Paradise, and
- 23:23Speaker 3: I really made it feel intentionally but nobody would know
- 23:27Speaker 3: that like a hometown And that's when his opinion of
- 23:31Speaker 3: me like totally flipped.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Hears sneaky little you know.
- 23:39Speaker 3: I made sure that Jared's flight was the one of
- 23:41Speaker 3: the last flights that would go out so that he
- 23:43Speaker 3: could watch football with my family.
- 23:46Speaker 4: You are wild, and it worked.
- 23:50Speaker 2: You are wild, Uh, always up to something the Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 2: So that would be my point is I don't think
- 23:57Speaker 2: this is weird.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I don't find it weird.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I think family can meet the person you're dating, especially
- 24:03Speaker 2: within this environment, fairly quickly I've always found it a
- 24:08Speaker 2: fun date, and Chalk's date, though kind of like their
- 24:14Speaker 2: relationship was the heaviest of them all. It was heavy
- 24:21Speaker 2: in the sense that, like at times, I was having
- 24:23Speaker 2: a hard time watching it because I was thinking, if
- 24:26Speaker 2: they don't end up together, and goodness gracious, now I
- 24:29Speaker 2: hope they do. This is a very intimate day and
- 24:34Speaker 2: moment that all of these humans will have in their
- 24:39Speaker 2: memory forever. I want them together now. Because of the
- 24:46Speaker 2: celebration that they had, I thought it was beautiful. And
- 24:48Speaker 2: don't get me wrong, it was just heavy, and the
- 24:51Speaker 2: others were not heavy. Yeah, and heavy heavy for obvious reasons. Right,
- 24:56Speaker 2: he just lost his mom. That makes sense, Like, there's
- 24:59Speaker 2: no this isn't a bad thing. It just felt like
- 25:03Speaker 2: to me, if Joan was not telling the producers this
- 25:07Speaker 2: is the guy, yeah, then this would have never happened
- 25:09Speaker 2: this way, because there's no way they would have had
- 25:13Speaker 2: her pick up dirt and bury this tree in memory
- 25:17Speaker 2: of his late mother if she was going to break
- 25:21Speaker 2: his heart.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Like the next week, you're so so right, good point.
- 25:26Speaker 3: She's definitely saying things behind the scenes. The most touching
- 25:29Speaker 3: moment for me during this was when he was talking
- 25:32Speaker 3: to Kathy's dad. So Kathy is Chuck's his girlfriend fiance
- 25:40Speaker 3: who passed away, and it says something about him that
- 25:45Speaker 3: he has kept such in touch with her father that
- 25:49Speaker 3: he feels like a family member like that. It just
- 25:54Speaker 3: because like in a way, it's kind of it's definitely
- 25:58Speaker 3: not weird, but it's interesting. Well it's because she passed,
- 26:07Speaker 3: but to have like an in law there would just
- 26:12Speaker 3: not be typical. But I like it. I like it
- 26:15Speaker 3: a lot.
- 26:15Speaker 4: I like it a lot.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I mean I would, I would think, and I think
- 26:19Speaker 2: you'd agree with this, Ashley. But if something were to
- 26:22Speaker 2: happen to me, which Jessica's still home, she hasn't gone
- 26:25Speaker 2: to work yet. She can hear me say this. She's
- 26:28Speaker 2: already crying. I bet so if something were to happen
- 26:31Speaker 2: to me, my hope and my prayer would be that
- 26:36Speaker 2: my parents would stay a part of her life, no
- 26:38Speaker 2: matter what chapter she moves on to next one.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Because there's grandkids, yeah of course when yeah, but in
- 26:45Speaker 3: this case, he doesn't have grandkids with Kathy.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, good point.
- 26:50Speaker 2: But my hope would be that, you know, she would
- 26:53Speaker 2: keep them involved because it would mean a lot to them.
- 26:57Speaker 2: It just means a lot to me to have that
- 26:59Speaker 2: piece of knowing that, you know, my parents are still
- 27:01Speaker 2: connected to a family, to a community of some kind,
- 27:06Speaker 2: that they can still feel love and have these moments together.
- 27:10Speaker 4: I think it's it.
- 27:11Speaker 2: It says a lot about Chok and I have nothing
- 27:14Speaker 2: but good things to say about this dude, because even
- 27:16Speaker 2: when he talks to her, he's intentional, he is caring,
- 27:20Speaker 2: he is considerate.
- 27:23Speaker 4: I think what I don't.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I want to be clear, everything we said earlier about
- 27:27Speaker 2: the Pascal Chalk comparison is not saying that Chok is
- 27:29Speaker 2: not the right guy for her, nor is he a
- 27:31Speaker 2: bad guy at any level. It's just saying I think
- 27:35Speaker 2: Chok wants to marry this woman and it's ready for us,
- 27:39Speaker 2: and I don't know if she's ready for that.
- 27:41Speaker 3: For the intensity, Yeah, we really like Chock. I really
- 27:45Speaker 3: like this guy. I really like the relationship that he
- 27:47Speaker 3: has with this guy. And I love that he said,
- 27:52Speaker 3: we're ready for you to be family if you want that.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yes, it's sweet this and that was That's the point
- 27:59Speaker 2: of this day to me, was it was so sweet
- 28:02Speaker 2: the whole time.
- 28:03Speaker 4: All those other dates.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Though we're fairly lighthearted, we're fairly just like come check
- 28:08Speaker 2: out my family, Come see where I live, Come celebrate
- 28:11Speaker 2: the salon this. This felt like one of those days
- 28:16Speaker 2: that as a married couple, you know want you or
- 28:19Speaker 2: your partner are hurting and the other partner has to
- 28:22Speaker 2: step up and do this. The side of this, though,
- 28:26Speaker 2: that I would I would be shocked by. I don't
- 28:28Speaker 2: know if Joan knew that they were going to have
- 28:30Speaker 2: this much like kind of they were going to do
- 28:34Speaker 2: this celebration during the date. I think this probably got
- 28:38Speaker 2: thrown on her. And if I was Joan, this would
- 28:41Speaker 2: have been one of the moments that you get in
- 28:42Speaker 2: the car with the producers on the way back and
- 28:44Speaker 2: you guys, and you're like, never again. You should have
- 28:46Speaker 2: told me that this was going to happen. You should
- 28:49Speaker 2: have prepped me for this. You should have warmed me.
- 28:50Speaker 2: And maybe they did. I don't know, but I know
- 28:53Speaker 2: in my experience there's moments where they throw you into
- 28:56Speaker 2: and all of a sudden, you're like, I have to
- 28:58Speaker 2: step up in a way that I was not expecting
- 29:01Speaker 2: to have to step up today. I'm not against doing it.
- 29:04Speaker 2: It's not something you know, foreign to me. However, it
- 29:07Speaker 2: would have been nice if you would have given me
- 29:08Speaker 2: a little bit of a heads up that hey, or
- 29:11Speaker 2: the whole family, like forty people are going to be here, yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 2: and I'm going to be you know, they're going to
- 29:15Speaker 2: be celebrating his late mother.
- 29:18Speaker 3: I don't think that conversation happened because I think she
- 29:21Speaker 3: wanted to be part of it. I think she was
- 29:22Speaker 3: ready for this because you can see how much differently
- 29:27Speaker 3: she feels with him than the others through their physical connection.
- 29:30Speaker 3: You were talking about how we didn't think that she
- 29:32Speaker 3: was getting you know, real physical with any of these guys.
- 29:37Speaker 3: She did. On those goodbye kisses with him, they were
- 29:41Speaker 3: making out.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Which is a marker of if you're into somebody or not. Yes,
- 29:49Speaker 2: the other side of this and Ashley, I could be
- 29:51Speaker 2: just wrong. It felt like when she talked to the family,
- 29:55Speaker 2: Chalk's family, he was the only one that she was like,
- 29:58Speaker 2: I am head over heels for this.
- 30:00Speaker 4: All the others she was like.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I'm worried that maybe he's not as into me as
- 30:03Speaker 2: I am, you know, and all these things. There was
- 30:07Speaker 2: always these concerns. Yeah, but it felt like with Chalk,
- 30:10Speaker 2: she sat down, I was like, I am head over
- 30:12Speaker 2: heels for this guy. Yeah, it felt like she was
- 30:14Speaker 2: trying to tell them during the hometown Hey, this is
- 30:18Speaker 2: going to be the two of us at the end.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Are you ready for that?
- 30:21Speaker 3: So Joan, there you go. The two paths that you
- 30:25Speaker 3: have are either fun and light or.
- 30:30Speaker 4: This which which is gonna be great, which is great too,
- 30:35Speaker 4: if you're ready for it.
- 30:36Speaker 2: It's gonna be great. And I think he's gonna treat
- 30:38Speaker 2: you really well. That's this week's episode of The Golden Bachelorette. Obviously,
- 30:42Speaker 2: Jordan does go home as we mentioned earlier, and the
- 30:44Speaker 2: rest of them are flying off to Tahiti for the
- 30:47Speaker 2: final few episodes of this amazing season that I think
- 30:51Speaker 2: has been absolutely incredible. I am intrigued, I'm excited, and
- 30:55Speaker 2: so until next week, I've been Ben, I've been Ashley.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Siya.
