- 0:46Speaker 1: the Inside of the Birds podcast Inside the Birds dot
- 0:49Speaker 1: Com and it has been slow so far, Andrew, is
- 0:53Speaker 1: this the way you envisioned this offseason kicking off for
- 0:57Speaker 1: Howie Roseman and the twenty twenty sixth philadelph The Eagles.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I did, And for anyone who listened to what Howie
- 1:05Speaker 2: Roseman had to say in his season ending press conference
- 1:08Speaker 2: or even in Indianapolis at the NFL scouting combine, you
- 1:12Speaker 2: should be prepared for the early part of this free
- 1:16Speaker 2: agent process, right because he talked about the need and
- 1:21Speaker 2: some of the challenges that a company trying to keep
- 1:24Speaker 2: your own players in that building and some of these
- 1:27Speaker 2: sacrifices that would need to be made in order to
- 1:30Speaker 2: do so. So he was really transparent, not only this offseason,
- 1:34Speaker 2: but last offseason as well, and sort of bracing Eagles
- 1:37Speaker 2: fans for a little turbulence early on in the offseason.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But I was expecting it that I expect Jamen Phillips
- 1:45Speaker 2: to get thirty million a season. I did not, but
- 1:48Speaker 2: he was a priority. He was someone who they wanted
- 1:50Speaker 2: to keep. But outside of that, Mike, nothing that I've
- 1:53Speaker 2: seen thus far has really surprised me.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Okay, so let's look at Phillips. He got thirty million. Obviously,
- 2:00Speaker 1: that's a lot of money, and I think Vic Fangio
- 2:02Speaker 1: did say we wanted him, just kind of got priced out.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Where do you see options now Andrew to replace him?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Because you know last year they went in with Hunt
- 2:12Speaker 1: and Smith. Halfway through the year they realized that was
- 2:14Speaker 1: not enough. Do they think that's enough this time around,
- 2:18Speaker 1: or do they have to get creative to find someone
- 2:21Speaker 1: to replace Phillips.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I would tend to think that Eagles would lean
- 2:26Speaker 2: to lean toward getting outside help there. When they brought
- 2:30Speaker 2: in Jalen Phillips, he was the headliner there, flanked by
- 2:33Speaker 2: Jaloks Hunt, but Nolan Smith was the number three, and
- 2:37Speaker 2: I think that's really where he's best suited, especially given
- 2:40Speaker 2: his body type, the way he plays the game with
- 2:43Speaker 2: a lot of physicality and setting the edge. But that
- 2:45Speaker 2: lends itself to not always being available. So I think
- 2:49Speaker 2: eagles best course of action right now would be to
- 2:52Speaker 2: explore the trade market someone like the Jonathan Grenard. Now,
- 2:56Speaker 2: if it's a second round pick, I'm not doing that.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I don't know that that he would be worth a
- 3:01Speaker 2: second round pick, but he is a player that I
- 3:03Speaker 2: think would fit pretty well within this scheme. He's been
- 3:07Speaker 2: productive throughout his career. This would qualify as a bounce
- 3:10Speaker 2: back season for him, and you may ask, how do
- 3:12Speaker 2: you feel about players on bounce back seasons. I think
- 3:16Speaker 2: in this case, you would feel a little bit more
- 3:18Speaker 2: confident about it because of his past success and there
- 3:22Speaker 2: hasn't been a flash in the pan, a blip on
- 3:24Speaker 2: the radar. He's been a really really dominant force off
- 3:28Speaker 2: the edge in his career, and I think when you're
- 3:30Speaker 2: looking at who he would be replacing, you need to
- 3:32Speaker 2: give yourself a top flight edge rusher to allow everyone
- 3:37Speaker 2: else to sort of fit into where they to where
- 3:40Speaker 2: they best fit. So that's the way that I view it.
- 3:42Speaker 2: There's also the NFL Draft that Eagles are sitting at
- 3:45Speaker 2: pick twenty three. There's a player who would fall within
- 3:47Speaker 2: that range in Keldrick Falk, and edge rusher out of Auburn,
- 3:50Speaker 2: six foot six, twenty years old. He moves really well,
- 3:55Speaker 2: still needs a little bit more refinement overall to his game,
- 3:57Speaker 2: but his stock is rising as we speak. So there's
- 4:00Speaker 2: a lot of avenues in which the Eagles can explore
- 4:03Speaker 2: to do that. But I think you got to get
- 4:05Speaker 2: someone who's ready to go, who's played the game at
- 4:08Speaker 2: a high level, and for me, Jonathan Gernard is that guy.
- 4:11Speaker 1: All right, So keep an eye on Gernard. Minnesota had
- 4:13Speaker 1: some shoulder problems much like Jahad Campbell. We found that
- 4:16Speaker 1: out as well from Vic Fangio, and he obviously will
- 4:19Speaker 1: be the replacement for Nakobe Dean. But let's hear about
- 4:22Speaker 1: Rick Wolan, who met the media today. Do you look
- 4:26Speaker 1: at this as an upgrade over what they had last year?
- 4:29Speaker 1: A significant upgrade. What is your take on how they
- 4:33Speaker 1: were able to get Woolen here on a one year deal.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it was great talking to Rick Wallen today. Had
- 4:38Speaker 2: some really interesting things to say in terms of honing
- 4:41Speaker 2: in on the mental aspect and keeping his emotions in check,
- 4:44Speaker 2: because I think aside from that he's probably in Seattle
- 4:48Speaker 2: with a big contract. It's been the glimpses that have
- 4:53Speaker 2: been too infrequent, aside from his rookie season. But on
- 4:56Speaker 2: its face, Mike one year, I think it's worth up
- 4:59Speaker 2: to it's worth up to fifteen, but I think it's
- 5:01Speaker 2: about twelve. That's what a player of his skill set,
- 5:05Speaker 2: of his caliber commands in terms of a one year
- 5:08Speaker 2: deal because of the upside twenty six years old, six
- 5:11Speaker 2: foot three runs of four to two six. But you
- 5:14Speaker 2: have to also ask yourself, how is a player with
- 5:16Speaker 2: those dimensions, with that kind of ability available for a
- 5:20Speaker 2: one year deal. So there's two sides to every trade.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You have to look at the other side, and it's
- 5:25Speaker 2: been the inconsistencies. It's been the penalties. He's been one
- 5:28Speaker 2: of the more penalized corners in the NFL, and I
- 5:31Speaker 2: think in Philadelphia it's a clean slate. You have a
- 5:34Speaker 2: coaching staff that prides themselves and has an extensive track
- 5:37Speaker 2: record of player development. So it's about raining that in
- 5:41Speaker 2: controlling your emotions and playing within the confines of the system,
- 5:45Speaker 2: which we're playing with Cooper Degen and Quinya Mitchell. You're
- 5:49Speaker 2: going to see the football come your way a lot,
- 5:51Speaker 2: so you have to trust your technique and really have
- 5:53Speaker 2: that dial it in. But I think that that's the
- 5:56Speaker 2: type of signing that if you're the Eagles and you're
- 5:58Speaker 2: exploring those that can tearish type of player, you take
- 6:03Speaker 2: a big swing for someone like that because you have
- 6:05Speaker 2: to bet on the upside. He's played at a high
- 6:07Speaker 2: level before. It's about getting him to revert back to
- 6:10Speaker 2: the player that he was back in twenty twenty two.
- 6:12Speaker 1: All right. Obviously, Dori Jackson there last year, and now
- 6:16Speaker 1: you got a younger player with a lot more upside,
- 6:18Speaker 1: A dory will be done. Of course, he had the
- 6:21Speaker 1: one year deal last year. Now, Rick Wohlan comes in,
- 6:24Speaker 1: who was coming from the Super Bowl champion. I know
- 6:31Speaker 1: Riek Wolland along with Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper dejen That
- 6:34Speaker 1: gives you a very formidable looking secondary there. Let's go
- 6:37Speaker 1: to Reid blanket ship. He got paid as well, and
- 6:40Speaker 1: this kind of shows you know that the Eagles are disciplined.
- 6:43Speaker 1: They thought that Reed was good, but they probably don't
- 6:46Speaker 1: put him on that you know, multiple year level level.
- 6:50Speaker 1: How do they replace him? Not a lot of in
- 6:52Speaker 1: house options.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, some were surprised that the Eagles walked away at
- 6:57Speaker 2: that price. But I even wrote this leading into free
- 7:00Speaker 2: agency on Inside the Birds dot com that we're talking
- 7:03Speaker 2: six or seven million if I'm the Eagles to sign
- 7:05Speaker 2: me up for that, but if it climbed to eight, nine,
- 7:09Speaker 2: ten million, no, I'm walking away because he's not irreplaceable.
- 7:13Speaker 2: There are a lot of other options and avenues that
- 7:16Speaker 2: you can explore to fortify that position. I think the
- 7:19Speaker 2: Eagles could stand to get more athletic there. And for
- 7:22Speaker 2: all the good things that reblankaschev has done, and there
- 7:25Speaker 2: are some intangibles there that can't be measured. It's the toughness,
- 7:28Speaker 2: it's the instincts, playing fundamentally sound, making sure that you're
- 7:32Speaker 2: that traffic cop back there that can make sure everybody
- 7:35Speaker 2: knows their assignment and vic Fangio trusted him immensely at
- 7:38Speaker 2: one of the most daunting positions in his system, so
- 7:41Speaker 2: that shouldn't be discounted. But you can certainly stand to
- 7:44Speaker 2: upgrade at that position. And I think if you look
- 7:47Speaker 2: at free agency, you have players like a Gino Stone
- 7:49Speaker 2: who's been around for a while, was drafted by the
- 7:52Speaker 2: Ravens I believe in the seventh round out of Iowa,
- 7:55Speaker 2: went to the Bengals for a couple of seasons, started
- 7:58Speaker 2: thirty four games for them. Jaw Brisker from the Chicago Bears.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Then there's a plethora of safeties in the draft who
- 8:04Speaker 2: I really like. Emmanuel McNeil Warren out of Toledo six
- 8:07Speaker 2: foot four Rangeye has a good relationship with Quinnion Mitchell Ballhawk,
- 8:11Speaker 2: so he's always around the football and I think he
- 8:13Speaker 2: plays with really good fundamentals and anticipation. So that's the
- 8:18Speaker 2: kind of player that I would really like. And Bud
- 8:21Speaker 2: Clark from TCU. There's a lot. There's the Kid Wheatley
- 8:24Speaker 2: from Penn State. It's not the be all end all
- 8:27Speaker 2: at the Eagles loss Reed blanket ship. There's going to
- 8:29Speaker 2: be other options. I think you want to add a
- 8:31Speaker 2: player in free agency to balance out the room a
- 8:34Speaker 2: little bit. Let's not forget Marcus EPs is out there too,
- 8:37Speaker 2: but that wasn't a move that I was necessarily surprised by.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with you. There and some interesting possibilities
- 8:43Speaker 1: to replace him. So you've got Woollen on the outside,
- 8:47Speaker 1: You've got Campbell there. You need to replace Phillips and
- 8:51Speaker 1: Red Blankenship. Really that is a couple of the things
- 8:54Speaker 1: that this team still needs to do. We'll see what
- 8:57Speaker 1: Howie Roseman does to fix that. Let's go to offense
- 9:01Speaker 1: because I want to get your opinion on what they
- 9:03Speaker 1: did at tight end, because obviously this Dallas Goddard thing
- 9:07Speaker 1: is kind of interesting, gives them a little time to
- 9:08Speaker 1: try to figure out something there. They did bring in
- 9:10Speaker 1: Johnny Munt to be a blocking tight end, and they
- 9:14Speaker 1: brought back Grant cal Katara. Do you think that it's
- 9:17Speaker 1: more of a sign that Goddard is back. Do they
- 9:21Speaker 1: go with cal Katara as like a pass catcher, draft
- 9:25Speaker 1: a guy to groom behind him, and now they have
- 9:27Speaker 1: mon as the blocker. Obviously cal Katara was kind of
- 9:29Speaker 1: miserable in that second role as a blocker. That just
- 9:32Speaker 1: did not suit him. How do you read the tight
- 9:35Speaker 1: end room.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Now, well, they still need a tight end one to
- 9:39Speaker 2: be clear, whether that's Dallas Goddter or whether that's a
- 9:42Speaker 2: David and joku on in free agency, but they certainly
- 9:45Speaker 2: need to make sure they add a top end player
- 9:49Speaker 2: at that position who can be the face of that room.
- 9:52Speaker 2: And this is going to be a new look room.
- 9:54Speaker 2: They really were striving to add more balance and variety
- 9:57Speaker 2: in terms of skills that grant ka Katara is a
- 10:00Speaker 2: player that I think that there's been a lot of
- 10:02Speaker 2: venom and anger directed it his way. Look, he's not
- 10:06Speaker 2: a good blocker. He struggled mightily in that area. But
- 10:10Speaker 2: I don't put that on the player. I put that
- 10:11Speaker 2: on the coaches because he's If you're asking someone to
- 10:14Speaker 2: continuously do something that they're not good at, you're not
- 10:17Speaker 2: putting the player in the best position to be successful. However,
- 10:20Speaker 2: he is a very good pass catcher. He's been used
- 10:23Speaker 2: sparingly in his career at the Eagles, just forty two receptions,
- 10:27Speaker 2: but I would argue that he has some of the
- 10:29Speaker 2: best hands on the team. He catches a lot of
- 10:32Speaker 2: volume that he receives a lot of volume in training camp.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Jalen Hurt seems to trust him, and I'm curious to
- 10:38Speaker 2: see how this new coaching staff views him within the
- 10:41Speaker 2: structure of their offense. I can't help but wonder, because
- 10:44Speaker 2: he does have more of a bigger body, if he
- 10:46Speaker 2: could be a plus size receiver at times, like a
- 10:49Speaker 2: Johnny Wilson, where you put him inside and he can
- 10:51Speaker 2: help you where you're not in line blocking but you're
- 10:55Speaker 2: doing other things to free up teammates and things like that.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Maybe trying to exploit his athleticism a little bit more so,
- 11:00Speaker 2: I think as a third or even a fourth tight end,
- 11:03Speaker 2: Grant Calcaterra is fine. Johnny Mont's interesting because he's a
- 11:08Speaker 2: good blocker, one of the best blocking tight ends in
- 11:10Speaker 2: the NFL, and he's gonna certainly help that area because
- 11:14Speaker 2: they struggled and that was one of the contributing factors,
- 11:17Speaker 2: the tight ends not being able to hold up at
- 11:19Speaker 2: the point of attack that allowed the enabled the running
- 11:22Speaker 2: game to falter the way that it did. So I
- 11:24Speaker 2: was expecting a blocking tight end, thought Charlie Kohler would
- 11:27Speaker 2: have been a nice fit. As it is, Johnny Mount
- 11:30Speaker 2: thirty one years old on his third team. You don't
- 11:32Speaker 2: hang around that long in the NFL unless you're exceptional
- 11:37Speaker 2: in a specialty role, and he certainly is. And then
- 11:39Speaker 2: there's plenty of tight ends in the draft that they
- 11:40Speaker 2: can look to add if they choose to go that route,
- 11:43Speaker 2: which I am expecting they will.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and obviously munt Well not obvious to everybody, but
- 11:48Speaker 1: has some background with Sean Mannion as well, so he
- 11:51Speaker 1: would likely be the number two blocking tight end or
- 11:55Speaker 1: you know, the guy who's in there in run game
- 11:57Speaker 1: situations and goal line situations. I am interested to see
- 12:01Speaker 1: if they would, you just said, Andrew, did they look
- 12:04Speaker 1: at Calcutarians say, look, this guy can catch the ball,
- 12:06Speaker 1: he can make plays. We just never have given him
- 12:08Speaker 1: a chance, And we can get that for a heck
- 12:11Speaker 1: of a lot cheaper than Godard. Nothing against Goddard, but
- 12:15Speaker 1: might just be time to flip over that salary.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think it would be to be a starter,
- 12:20Speaker 2: just to be clear, But I do think that there's
- 12:22Speaker 2: a world in which he can have a little bit
- 12:25Speaker 2: more of a hand in the offense as a receiver,
- 12:28Speaker 2: as a depth piece, or maybe you find more creative
- 12:31Speaker 2: ways to deploy him formationally. But I think there's more
- 12:35Speaker 2: there than what he's shown. He's a good route runner,
- 12:39Speaker 2: he can pull away from linebackers and defensive backs. He
- 12:43Speaker 2: has that kind of athleticism and I don't want to
- 12:46Speaker 2: oversell it, but I think that it's always been a
- 12:49Speaker 2: little curious to me as to why as the number
- 12:51Speaker 2: two tight end playing as much as he has. He
- 12:53Speaker 2: just had nine catches last season. I think that there's
- 12:56Speaker 2: a way where maybe they can involve the tight end
- 12:58Speaker 2: a little bit more. And really, if you look at
- 12:59Speaker 2: the how Shanahan offensive to Sean mcvays, it's becoming a
- 13:04Speaker 2: lot of it is becoming tight end heavy in terms
- 13:08Speaker 2: of their usage. So I mean, this could be a
- 13:11Speaker 2: situation where they carry three or four this year, depending
- 13:14Speaker 2: on how things shake out.
- 13:15Speaker 1: All right, Dotson obviously two year deal, fifteen million, he
- 13:19Speaker 1: goes to Atlanta, did not have a major role here.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Thirty seven catches, one touchdown in thirty four games with Philadelphia,
- 13:28Speaker 1: So you'll, on the surface, you would say, not a
- 13:30Speaker 1: huge loss in house. Do they even look to add,
- 13:35Speaker 1: you know, an upgrade at the third wide receiver. Is
- 13:37Speaker 1: that just not a position that this team values all
- 13:39Speaker 1: that much.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Well, they certainly value it, and then you look at
- 13:43Speaker 2: the defense and how much money is going to have
- 13:44Speaker 2: to be invested in. That's on that side of the ball.
- 13:47Speaker 2: You got to get younger. On the offensive side. You
- 13:50Speaker 2: have to start drafting and developing players that are on
- 13:53Speaker 2: rookie contracts. And this would be an opportune spot for
- 13:56Speaker 2: the Eagles to take a wide receiver and have them
- 13:59Speaker 2: slide in as the three. You have Darius Cooper, who
- 14:01Speaker 2: I think is probably better Sue to be a four
- 14:03Speaker 2: right now. Great story development and kind of go from there.
- 14:07Speaker 2: But Johan Dotson, it was a steep investment to get him.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I think they gave up a third round pick a
- 14:12Speaker 2: couple of years ago, had the twenty seven yard catch
- 14:14Speaker 2: in the Super Bowl, had the touchdown to kickstart the
- 14:18Speaker 2: playoffs after Warren Burke's forced the fumble against the Packers.
- 14:21Speaker 2: So the highlights are minimal, but whenever the ball came
- 14:26Speaker 2: his way, he certainly made the most of it.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and obviously he moves on to Atlanta. We'll see
- 14:32Speaker 1: what they do there. Obviously, the aj Brown stuff seemingly
- 14:38Speaker 1: is up and down and all around, and every ten
- 14:41Speaker 1: minutes we can get something different. A lot of people
- 14:43Speaker 1: believe after June one that teams could get back in
- 14:47Speaker 1: play here your gut feeling on AJ Brown's future now.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Right now, on March twelve, I would say that the
- 14:56Speaker 2: Eagles probably move on move on from him, but well,
- 15:00Speaker 2: we'll have to see how things go. It's it seems
- 15:03Speaker 2: like it's a week to week thing. We I mean,
- 15:06Speaker 2: the Eagles aren't just gonna give them away. And that's
- 15:08Speaker 2: something that you've heard a lot about. They're not just
- 15:10Speaker 2: going to uh lose out on a staring contest and
- 15:15Speaker 2: and just deal them to the highest bidder. They're going
- 15:19Speaker 2: to stand firm on what they believe the value is there.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And until they get that, they're not they're not going
- 15:24Speaker 2: to move them. But I do that. I mean they
- 15:27Speaker 2: are taking calls, and I mean that that's been widely
- 15:30Speaker 2: reported and so we'll have to wait and see how
- 15:33Speaker 2: everything transpires from there.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Uh So we'll see what happened with Brown obviously. Let me,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you know, move to the Max Crosby thing and how
- 15:40Speaker 1: that might intertwine with Philadelphia. Did they get involved there?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Andrew in your mind, how that changes the edge marker
- 15:49Speaker 1: market for you know, losing Phillips. What is your take
- 15:52Speaker 1: on the bizarre situation that happened with Crosby and then
- 15:56Speaker 1: the domino effect of taking Hendrickson off the board. Yeah.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I mean, it's just really bad optics. It looks like
- 16:04Speaker 2: they got cold feet to me and had buyer's remorse.
- 16:08Speaker 2: You feel good about dealing two first round picks on
- 16:10Speaker 2: Friday night, You take the weekend, you think about it,
- 16:14Speaker 2: You look at how the legal tampering period's going. You
- 16:16Speaker 2: see the Trey Hendrickson still out there when you probably
- 16:19Speaker 2: didn't expect him to be, and then all of a
- 16:21Speaker 2: sudden you're, okay, well we could do this and then
- 16:26Speaker 2: keep our picks, and you start second guessing. But I
- 16:29Speaker 2: have to tell you that's bad business, and it's a
- 16:31Speaker 2: bad look for an organization in the Ravens that for
- 16:35Speaker 2: many years were viewed among the NFL's best. This is
- 16:39Speaker 2: going to be hard to it's gonna be hard to
- 16:42Speaker 2: move past. And you have to imagine that there's gonna
- 16:44Speaker 2: be other teams that are gonna be hesitant to do
- 16:46Speaker 2: business with Baltimore moving forward. Now, Max Crosby, you have
- 16:50Speaker 2: to do your homework before you trade for a player
- 16:52Speaker 2: like that, because out of his seven seasons, five he's
- 16:56Speaker 2: played over nine hundred snaps, two in which he's played
- 16:59Speaker 2: over one thousand. The Raiders have really run him into
- 17:02Speaker 2: the ground, and you have to worry about the longevity.
- 17:05Speaker 2: And of course there's going to be some health concerns there,
- 17:09Speaker 2: given how much he's played, even at twenty eight years old.
- 17:12Speaker 1: All right, Andrew, last couple few all kind of today
- 17:17Speaker 1: landed Dickerson a reworked deal. What is the optics on
- 17:21Speaker 1: this in your mind?
- 17:25Speaker 2: Well, it helps the Eagles, I guess if you want
- 17:28Speaker 2: to say, minimize any kind of financial burden in the
- 17:33Speaker 2: event that he does walk away and two years max.
- 17:38Speaker 2: From what I understand, he was close to walking away
- 17:42Speaker 2: this season and retiring. He's been riddled with injuries throughout
- 17:45Speaker 2: his career. The attrition has clearly caught up to him.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Last season he battled through a litany of injuries. And
- 17:51Speaker 2: if you're landing, you have to think, can I go
- 17:53Speaker 2: through another season like this? Okay? If I can get
- 17:56Speaker 2: through twenty twenty six, twenty twenty seven, we'll have to
- 17:59Speaker 2: wait and see. So I think this right here was
- 18:01Speaker 2: almost it almost looked like a courtesy to the Eagles.
- 18:05Speaker 2: And in the event that he decides to, you know,
- 18:08Speaker 2: to walk away or at an early age.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Gotcha, all right, So Dickerson, for those just tuning in,
- 18:14Speaker 1: he was set to make thirty nine million over the
- 18:15Speaker 1: next two seasons, goes down to thirty six. Although he's
- 18:20Speaker 1: now his contract was going to expire in twenty twenty eight,
- 18:23Speaker 1: he is now only under contract through twenty twenty seven,
- 18:26Speaker 1: so he takes a little bit of a pay cut,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but he's only here for two years instead of the
- 18:30Speaker 1: three years. So we'll see what ends up happening with
- 18:32Speaker 1: the future of Dickerson. A lot a lot of times
- 18:35Speaker 1: you talk about a kicker or a punter signing, but
- 18:38Speaker 1: Brady Man fliers fourteen million, and this was the off
- 18:41Speaker 1: season to be a kicker or a punter. These guys
- 18:44Speaker 1: were making big bucks in free agency.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a huge braidon man guy. I've gotten to
- 18:50Speaker 2: know him by, you know, quite a bit over the
- 18:53Speaker 2: past couple of years, and well deserved. I thought that
- 18:56Speaker 2: he deserved Pro Bowl consideration. He I mean, he had
- 19:00Speaker 2: a career a tied a career high in puns inside
- 19:03Speaker 2: the twenty with twenty, hit a seventy yarder this year,
- 19:07Speaker 2: and was really critical in the field, flipping when the
- 19:12Speaker 2: offense was sputtering early on. He bailed them out oftentimes,
- 19:15Speaker 2: and when you have a punter like that, he's a weapon.
- 19:17Speaker 2: And I looked at what Tommy Townsend got from the
- 19:20Speaker 2: Tennessee Titans. That was two years up to six million,
- 19:23Speaker 2: and he was an All Pro and a pro bowler
- 19:26Speaker 2: in twenty twenty two. But and I hold him in
- 19:29Speaker 2: high regard. I thought, well, what's Braidon Man gonna get?
- 19:31Speaker 2: Brandon Mann was compensated quite well for his contributions last season,
- 19:35Speaker 2: and he should be. And I think now that he's
- 19:38Speaker 2: sort of on the map a little bit, he'll finally
- 19:40Speaker 2: get the recognition that I believe he deserves.
- 19:42Speaker 1: There you go, so Man gets the deal. Last one
- 19:44Speaker 1: for you. Brandon Graham has said that he does not
- 19:48Speaker 1: plan on retiring. Andrew, do you anticipate fifty five will
- 19:52Speaker 1: be back next season?
- 19:55Speaker 2: Yeah? Hallie Rosemant the NFL Combine was asked about Brandon Grammy.
- 19:58Speaker 2: He said he's welcome in Philadelphia time. And if Brandon
- 20:01Speaker 2: Graham wants to come back, and obviously he can still play,
- 20:06Speaker 2: you bring him back and you count on him as
- 20:08Speaker 2: a fifth edge rusher. Maybe you kind of have an
- 20:12Speaker 2: agreement in August so you don't have to maybe put
- 20:15Speaker 2: him through the full gauntlet of training camp and you
- 20:18Speaker 2: bring him back into the fold as long as he's
- 20:20Speaker 2: in football shape. He's proven that he can still play
- 20:23Speaker 2: and also help along the interior. So there's value there
- 20:26Speaker 2: not only on the field, but as a mentor and
- 20:28Speaker 2: of course in the locker room.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Andrew to checko. Of course, the football off season, it
- 20:34Speaker 1: continues with free agency and then the draft next month
- 20:38Speaker 1: April twenty third, will be all over that we are
- 20:41Speaker 1: getting in within a month to the draft, and of
- 20:43Speaker 1: course you can check out more from the Inside the
