- 0:16Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised.
- 0:21Speaker 2: The World's of Virginal podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. There
- 0:31Speaker 2: are things that Rabel is doing that it's like, oh, okay,
- 0:35Speaker 2: that's pretty cool. You can see how he's putting his
- 0:38Speaker 2: immediately putting his thumbprint on the team.
- 0:41Speaker 3: And I'm told that that's very high on Mike Rabel's
- 0:45Speaker 3: lists throughout the hallways. Always Yeah, he's.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Getting serious about his music too, right, like we're all
- 0:53Speaker 1: not too. He's getting music a musach.
- 0:56Speaker 2: A lot of your people yesterday were you.
- 0:59Speaker 3: People, Mike? You thoughts, Kyle Duggart looked a little thinnery yesterday.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Supermitched feelings?
- 1:04Speaker 4: Here?
- 1:04Speaker 3: Am I alone?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Please help you?
- 1:06Speaker 3: Just never listened to me. He played one game against
- 1:09Speaker 3: practice squad players, Milton, and now he's all of a
- 1:11Speaker 3: sudden worth what to go.
- 1:13Speaker 2: That's true, then somebody should get fired.
- 1:16Speaker 3: I legitimately just said that. And I'm not picking on
- 1:20Speaker 3: you because I know you argue with me, because that's
- 1:22Speaker 3: what we contract really obligated to do. So he's basically
- 1:25Speaker 3: not pat original.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Like Americans are a letdown to your family.
- 1:31Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:32Speaker 5: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:36Speaker 5: deals by a Toyota dot Com.
- 1:41Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here
- 1:45Speaker 2: at Jillette Stadium, and it's Paul, it's Deuce, it's me Evan.
- 1:49Speaker 2: It'll be by later. Will Alex be by later?
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Okay, and we might have a special guest come in
- 1:54Speaker 2: in a few moments. We'll see. Yeah. Well, I don't know,
- 1:58Speaker 2: you know, I think that's kind of but we're we're
- 2:03Speaker 2: in the midst now of the off season. Voluntary workouts.
- 2:10Speaker 2: People one weekend, one weekend.
- 2:12Speaker 1: At this point, I'm running.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna have some availability today. Who's speaking. That's
- 2:18Speaker 2: where Evan is by the James.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Bradbery Okay, his name is Gart Garrett Garrett.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Sorry, I don't know you think of Ray Bradbery, the
- 2:27Speaker 2: science fiction author. James Bradberry was an Eagle. I feel sorry.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Cornerback, cornerback. Yeah, yeah, it's Garrett Bradbury. Garrett and Antonio Gibbie.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Okay, so they'll be talking to the media today.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's where Evan is, and I think Alex is
- 2:47Speaker 3: at the community event that she is gonna try to
- 2:52Speaker 3: get from there to hear as quickly as she can.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Okay, all right, our two.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Uh yeah, she sent me, I'm doing an A M
- 2:59Speaker 1: A for the newsletter this week. So I'll just give
- 3:02Speaker 1: you a bunch of good questions. Thank you everyone for
- 3:04Speaker 1: writing in so well.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Is that with Reddit?
- 3:06Speaker 6: No, it's just asked me anything, So alex questions online
- 3:10Speaker 6: and receive them.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah. It's funny like when someone I had to remember
- 3:16Speaker 3: when Lauren was here. Lauren Spencer was you know, sort
- 3:19Speaker 3: of a social media content coordinator for for a lot
- 3:23Speaker 3: of years, and she asked me to do one of those,
- 3:25Speaker 3: and you know, it's like an A M A. And
- 3:28Speaker 3: I'm thinking to myself, it's like, give me. I was
- 3:31Speaker 3: thinking it was like a Reddit, like some kind of
- 3:33Speaker 3: coding and I was like, No, it's asked me anything.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, right, far less complicated than I thought. Yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 3: sure I'll do it.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 3: I thought it was something I was going to have
- 3:43Speaker 3: to like know how to do from a technological standpoint.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I was like, I don't know, just.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Answer questions about your life, Paul, that's all that's fun.
- 3:51Speaker 3: That's fun. I'm looking forward to uh, I'm a little discrassed.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Mike is knocking his mic off as you. Yeah, I'm
- 4:01Speaker 3: interested to see what what the listeners have in store
- 4:04Speaker 3: for you. Mike, what kind of I asked you why
- 4:07Speaker 3: you're not getting more serious about your music?
- 4:09Speaker 6: Well, there wasn't about a potential calendar with Ashton Genty
- 4:13Speaker 6: and Derreck Henry types. Who else might be featured in
- 4:16Speaker 6: said calendar, not to be confused with the Boys of
- 4:18Speaker 6: Patriots unfiltered calendar that Swimsu calendar will be trying to
- 4:21Speaker 6: put together for a while now that Paul, you've lost
- 4:23Speaker 6: a little little.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Wait for a boys maybe an older gentleman of p U.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Maybe I did hear a little bit of news according
- 4:34Speaker 2: to Albert Breer this morning, Abdul Carter will be coming
- 4:38Speaker 2: for a visit on Monday. On Monday, and I guess
- 4:42Speaker 2: it's kind of newsy because he's limited the number of
- 4:46Speaker 2: teams that he's willing to go visitin.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Just the top four.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he said he was. If you're not
- 4:52Speaker 3: picking in the top five, I think want to like Yeah,
- 4:55Speaker 3: So that that kind of dovetails nicely Freddy into develop
- 5:00Speaker 3: an opinion I might might be trying to formulate you
- 5:03Speaker 3: work shopping it. Yeah. Yeah, and it's just like I'm starting,
- 5:07Speaker 3: maybe I'm setting myself up for the big let down,
- 5:09Speaker 3: the big fall. I'm trying to convince myself there's still
- 5:12Speaker 3: a chance that one of those two guys is available,
- 5:15Speaker 3: and I've sort of come to the conclusion that Carter
- 5:20Speaker 3: might be the more likely one, depending on what Cleveland does.
- 5:23Speaker 3: If Cleveland were, like, I think that ninety nine you know,
- 5:28Speaker 3: you know, out of all of my models, like I
- 5:31Speaker 3: would say, well over ninety five percent of my models
- 5:34Speaker 3: have both Carter and Hunter going two three in some order. Okay,
- 5:38Speaker 3: but I do think there's a chance. So you're saying
- 5:41Speaker 3: there's a chance that if Cleveland takes Hunter, that the
- 5:45Speaker 3: whole you know, cliched narrative of the Giants not necessarily
- 5:49Speaker 3: needing another edge rusher, with Brian Burns and Kevon Thibodeau
- 5:53Speaker 3: already under contract on the edges, maybe they would, you know,
- 5:58Speaker 3: let Carter slip by and take who Oh, I don't know.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I'm just the European model, and the European Model did
- 6:07Speaker 3: not give me the information that I needed. But I've
- 6:09Speaker 3: just been trying to convince myself maybe there is a shot.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Maybe there is still reason for some intrigue there with
- 6:15Speaker 3: that third pick. Maybe they won't do it. Now, if
- 6:17Speaker 3: I were the Giants, there would be a no brainer
- 6:19Speaker 3: for me. Even if if Carter, you pick Carter and
- 6:22Speaker 3: he works out and he pans out, there's a chance
- 6:26Speaker 3: that he's better than those guys, you know, at least
- 6:29Speaker 3: one of them. And you know, Thibodeau is still a
- 6:31Speaker 3: young guy. You'd have to pay him soon. You know,
- 6:35Speaker 3: if I have Abdul Carter as a cheaper defensive Player
- 6:38Speaker 3: of the Year candidate, you know, if he really you know,
- 6:41Speaker 3: knocks it out of the park. I start with the Giants.
- 6:44Speaker 3: That's a good problem to have good players.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Goes back to what I said last show, where you
- 6:48Speaker 6: can't pick what positions are available, and you don't really
- 6:51Speaker 6: get to pick. Oh there just happens to be a
- 6:53Speaker 6: star at a position that you already have two guys at.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I recall the Giants won a certain Super Bowl because
- 6:59Speaker 2: they had a pretty front line.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Sure too, so's not remember a thing to have.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just you know, it's it's never a problem.
- 7:06Speaker 3: No one ever said, you know why we lost because
- 7:08Speaker 3: we had three defensive ends and we only needed two.
- 7:12Speaker 3: No one ever did that. It's like no one's ever
- 7:14Speaker 3: got away from you know, winning the title, you know,
- 7:17Speaker 3: one guards that's going to be the difference.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's kind of news, man. What else have
- 7:22Speaker 2: we got going on?
- 7:23Speaker 1: I just I can't believe the drafts in two weeks.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I mean two weeks has gone fast?
- 7:27Speaker 2: It is, you know, because it's the twenty fourth, right,
- 7:30Speaker 2: that's the Thursday. Yeah, it seems like it's a little
- 7:33Speaker 2: earlyer than usual. Probably isn't, but a little bit. It
- 7:36Speaker 2: just seems that way.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I think it is a little bit, you know, I
- 7:39Speaker 3: think it is.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I always think about it because my wife's birthday.
- 7:42Speaker 6: Birthday is the twenty third, so I'm always like, oh God,
- 7:45Speaker 6: one of these years is going to happen. But we've
- 7:46Speaker 6: been far out and it hasn't really even but this
- 7:50Speaker 6: is the first year we were one.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Day now, Mike, is that going to cause problems? Can
- 7:53Speaker 3: I add into the AMA, Mike? If if if the
- 7:56Speaker 3: draft the first time, the draft falls on fortune three, yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 3: that be an issue.
- 8:02Speaker 1: And I'll plan ahead policy it coming and then.
- 8:04Speaker 3: You can't get more trouble than I did.
- 8:06Speaker 1: So as long as you remember it. I think that's
- 8:08Speaker 1: that's the big piece of it.
- 8:09Speaker 3: That's probably the more important that. The more important thing is,
- 8:12Speaker 3: you know, actually remembering sometimes you got to work.
- 8:14Speaker 1: What are you gonna do? Yeah, but the beast came
- 8:16Speaker 1: out to Fred. I don't know if you've if you've
- 8:18Speaker 1: had the printer working.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Up stairs that I've been, didn't know it came out yet.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I didn't shoot.
- 8:26Speaker 3: The positional pages.
- 8:28Speaker 1: That's all the ranks you can. Well, you just need
- 8:29Speaker 1: your you need your arm lengths. And yeah I did.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I did print out because I told you another developing opinion.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I'm going with Walker you are, yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Jayleen Traymon Wan really yeah, Michael Williamson, Huh what are
- 8:45Speaker 1: you saying?
- 8:45Speaker 3: Jenkker?
- 8:50Speaker 1: Fred?
- 8:51Speaker 3: Because I printed it out solely for the purpose of
- 8:53Speaker 3: getting a little bit more acclimated with the guy. And
- 8:55Speaker 3: I was like, I don't even know his name.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I think I'll get the draft fatigue is what it is.
- 8:59Speaker 6: I like, I spent putting out our putting out our
- 9:01Speaker 6: big boards today, so going through all those and you know,
- 9:05Speaker 6: this is year fifteen.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I've been doing that, so that's exciting.
- 9:07Speaker 2: You're fifteen.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah, he's only been here for four years.
- 9:10Speaker 2: That's like ten of them he did just because he
- 9:12Speaker 2: wanted it, just for fun, folks.
- 9:13Speaker 7: I like the draft.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I have a big war.
- 9:16Speaker 3: It's just like you know, nineteen eighty four when I
- 9:20Speaker 3: faked being sick so I could stay home and watch
- 9:21Speaker 3: the draft.
- 9:23Speaker 6: I missed the old draft. I mean that gets into
- 9:26Speaker 6: something else. But we talked about before. I just love
- 9:28Speaker 6: that Saturday Sunday.
- 9:28Speaker 1: That was great. I love those full days.
- 9:30Speaker 3: And oh god, they're the worst down I'll tell you
- 9:34Speaker 3: this is much better.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure it is from like
- 9:36Speaker 1: an actual Like I have a job now, but.
- 9:39Speaker 3: You work, like Thursday and Friday. Those are work days, right,
- 9:42Speaker 3: You work on those days. Yes, they're later days than
- 9:44Speaker 3: they normally are, but I work on Thursday. So it's
- 9:47Speaker 3: not nothing, you know, it's nothing out of the ordinary.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Working your entire Saturday and Sunday in the middle of
- 9:52Speaker 3: the off season is not what I'm looking to do.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I remember, back in the old days with the old stadium,
- 9:57Speaker 2: the media press room for the draft in like the club.
- 10:01Speaker 2: You know, the club was one room and literally the
- 10:05Speaker 2: coaches and personnel were like a bathroom in a hallway away,
- 10:10Speaker 2: making all their picks. So they just walk over and
- 10:13Speaker 2: it was just wild. I remember the year that they
- 10:17Speaker 2: picked Christian Peters, and so they picked this guy, he's
- 10:21Speaker 2: alignment and shortly after somebody faxes over all this information
- 10:28Speaker 2: about Christian Peters. Well, actually that happened afterwards. But so
- 10:32Speaker 2: we're sitting there and Myra Craft is sitting in the
- 10:34Speaker 2: war room. She's just hanging out doing the New York
- 10:36Speaker 2: Times crossword and they picked Christian Peters. And one of
- 10:39Speaker 2: the media go up to her with one of the
- 10:41Speaker 2: draft guides and said, this is who they just picked,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and it's got all the things. And so she gets
- 10:48Speaker 2: up and she walks over and you know, to find
- 10:53Speaker 2: Robert And I said to our PR guy at the time,
- 10:56Speaker 2: it wasn't stage. They said, just so you know, Myra
- 10:59Speaker 2: just found out who Christian Peters is. And then we
- 11:02Speaker 2: all know what happened after that. A couple of days later.
- 11:05Speaker 3: You know, they cut him before they died that pick.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so but that was it was like so
- 11:11Speaker 2: much more homie back then, you know, like everyone was
- 11:14Speaker 2: just sitting around in a room. I forget the writer
- 11:17Speaker 2: for the Herald, he was kind of a nut and
- 11:19Speaker 2: he would sit there with a pen cap. Oh, Michael,
- 11:23Speaker 2: Michael going like this, And I said to one of them,
- 11:26Speaker 2: I said, what is he doing? He goes hot the
- 11:29Speaker 2: other ship?
- 11:30Speaker 3: You know?
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Michael Gy was a He was an odd person,
- 11:37Speaker 3: like an eccentric personnelity.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, comes from money, right.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Come from a lot of money. Yeah, but a gifted writer.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Just different, different cats. It was one of my guys.
- 11:47Speaker 3: I got along great with them. I got along except
- 11:50Speaker 3: for the people that matter.
- 11:51Speaker 2: But he would sit there and just go like this
- 11:53Speaker 2: with a pen Caphi. Yeah, that's how he contacts the mothership.
- 11:59Speaker 2: So but those were the days. It was a lot different.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It was really a lot different than it is now.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It's a whole production now.
- 12:06Speaker 2: But yeah, so anyway, eight five five PATS five hundred
- 12:11Speaker 2: is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com is the

- 12:54Speaker 1: we don't.
- 12:54Speaker 6: I think my wife she said this year is the
- 12:56Speaker 6: year she kind of wants to do away with Easter baskets.
- 12:58Speaker 1: The boys are out now.
- 13:00Speaker 6: Twelve and seventeen, and I think we're I think we're
- 13:03Speaker 6: done with it with I think.
- 13:05Speaker 2: East Easter candy is some of the worst candy there is.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Those marshmallow eggs, Oh.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yeah, those are those cats, cadberry eggs. Oh those are relief.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah those are something. Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I like the peanut butter cup eggs.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Yeah, a little thicker, yeah yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 3: And we're off the rails.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I'm going up to the yakaba in Oh, well, we
- 13:28Speaker 2: do that every year.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Look at you for Easter.
- 13:31Speaker 2: They have a good buffetney it's a buffet just going to.
- 13:35Speaker 6: We u sedee the honey baked ham. That was the
- 13:37Speaker 6: big Easter brunch thing we do in my house.
- 13:39Speaker 2: But yeah, anymore, all right, we're actually waiting for our guests,
- 13:44Speaker 2: and while we do, we might as well open up
- 13:46Speaker 2: the phone lines. Uh, Mitch is calling in from Georgia.
- 13:49Speaker 2: What's up, Mitch? Yes, all right, first time, long time.
- 13:56Speaker 8: I got two things and I don't take it off
- 13:57Speaker 8: the air.
- 13:58Speaker 9: One to respond to what something?
- 14:00Speaker 8: Paul? You mentioned a couple of weeks ago about the
- 14:03Speaker 8: Julian Edelman. Everyone loves them Wes Welker, and one has
- 14:06Speaker 8: a bad taste in their mouth because they never want
- 14:08Speaker 8: a shoot Bowl and he had that job. I think
- 14:10Speaker 8: that's fair. I've been Championships matter a lot in football,
- 14:15Speaker 8: and if you look at someone like a Donovan McNabb
- 14:18Speaker 8: for like the Eagles, great career, really good statistics, never
- 14:22Speaker 8: won at all, they probably value someone like Nick Foles
- 14:25Speaker 8: more because if you're a fan those championships, well.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I think they're very similar players. I would value those
- 14:32Speaker 3: two guys very similarly because I don't think either one
- 14:34Speaker 3: of them was very good. I don't think he played,
- 14:39Speaker 3: but he played. I mean he was the longtime starter,
- 14:42Speaker 3: but he wasn't very good. Yeah, he was on great
- 14:44Speaker 3: teams with a great coach.
- 14:46Speaker 2: That's debt.
- 14:46Speaker 9: If you didn't project out Drake May's career over the
- 14:49Speaker 9: next ten years, and he either puts up the all
- 14:52Speaker 9: world numbers like Patrick Mahome level numbers, but we never
- 14:55Speaker 9: won a title, or he's nothing more than like a
- 14:58Speaker 9: Brad Johnson, but we win a title. Which one would
- 15:02Speaker 9: you rather have?
- 15:03Speaker 2: Hey, Yeah, I mean it's it's the Marino thing. Marino
- 15:07Speaker 2: had amazing numbers and he deserves to be in halls
- 15:09Speaker 2: of fans.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Rather have a great, great quarterback. I'll find a way
- 15:12Speaker 3: to win.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but we should mention.
- 15:15Speaker 3: It rather than have to hope that I win despite
- 15:17Speaker 3: my quarterback. I'm not, you know, like the way you're
- 15:20Speaker 3: you're you're putting it, Mitch. You have to take the
- 15:23Speaker 3: title because it's a guarantee. But I you know, I
- 15:26Speaker 3: just would push back a little bit, like I'll take
- 15:28Speaker 3: my chances with a great quarterback for ten years as
- 15:30Speaker 3: opposed to hoping my quarterback doesn't screw it up for
- 15:32Speaker 3: ten years and I find a way to win once.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Thanks Mitch. Appreciate the call, but just reminds me voting
- 15:38Speaker 2: is open. Yes for the Patriots Hall of Fame.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Good job by Mitch by bringing that up.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Thanks Mitch. The three nominees are Adam VNITII, Julian Edelman,
- 15:48Speaker 2: and Logan Mogan. Megan's personally, I voted for Adam VANITII.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I don't know about you guys.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I voted for Adam VENTITII as well. I actually one
- 16:00Speaker 3: of the three I voted for it didn't even make
- 16:01Speaker 3: the ballot again for the third year in a row.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Boker yep.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Wes Weckler, Yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I voted for Vinitary, Mankins and Welker. And I just
- 16:12Speaker 3: banging my head against the wall. I can get.
- 16:13Speaker 2: The most post I saw from a Patriot fan backs
- 16:18Speaker 2: up what Paul's al was saying, and he's like, it's
- 16:20Speaker 2: a tough one, but I'm gonna have to go with
- 16:22Speaker 2: that on them, you know.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Well, plus that's got a podcast, and.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Julian Edelman is a lock and he was stone cold
- 16:32Speaker 3: lock Patriots Hall of Famer and should be right. So
- 16:34Speaker 3: I'm not that this isn't what I'm making fun of anybody.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I mean, he would be fear that out of those
- 16:41Speaker 3: four guys he would be fourth on my list. Yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 3: fourth most deserving. Now, Mitch just made a very compelling
- 16:49Speaker 3: argument as to why he would think differently with the titles.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I think titles are circumstantial. I think Randy Moss was
- 16:55Speaker 3: a better player than Julian Edelman, but Randy Moss to
- 16:58Speaker 3: win a title.
- 16:59Speaker 2: If you took n Harry and Edelman titles now, are
- 17:02Speaker 2: cancel each other out because they both.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Have h Yeah no, but I'm just saying that matters
- 17:06Speaker 3: to to some people. It doesn't matter to me. To me,
- 17:10Speaker 3: the play is what should matter unless the guy is
- 17:12Speaker 3: like a bad guy. That's like, that's a different argument.
- 17:14Speaker 3: But I'm talking about two really really good patriots. One
- 17:18Speaker 3: one you know, a couple of titles and one didn't.
- 17:21Speaker 3: But if one of them was a really you know,
- 17:23Speaker 3: it was a better player, right like Logan Mankett is
- 17:25Speaker 3: a better player in my view.
- 17:27Speaker 1: It's really hard. I mean, you put it on the fans.
- 17:29Speaker 6: You have to be willing to live with the results
- 17:32Speaker 6: of what they saw, and we have recency bias, and
- 17:35Speaker 6: with Edelman getting in at them and still being in
- 17:37Speaker 6: the spotlight. I voted for Adam Venitary too. I just
- 17:40Speaker 6: think that he deserves to be in there. It's almost
- 17:43Speaker 6: like a you know, a seniority thing.
- 17:45Speaker 1: To vote already I did, did you online?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well look at that.
- 17:48Speaker 3: It's a quick vote.
- 17:49Speaker 1: I gotta get I gotta vote from my guy.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know, like like Pluss, both Adam
- 17:55Speaker 2: and Julian are locks. But I think now it comes
- 17:58Speaker 2: down to order of operation, and I think vinitaries might
- 18:03Speaker 2: get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and we
- 18:05Speaker 2: kind of dodged a bullet. Now we have a chance
- 18:07Speaker 2: to get him into the Patriots Hall of Fame before
- 18:09Speaker 2: that happens. So let's take advantage of that. And next
- 18:12Speaker 2: year Julian will be nominated again, I'm sure, and uh,
- 18:16Speaker 2: you know, we can get in next year, although Ronck's
- 18:19Speaker 2: going to be there.
- 18:20Speaker 3: The three guys on the ballot this year, to me,
- 18:23Speaker 3: you're all I don't think have anything to worry about
- 18:25Speaker 3: in the long term of getting in. But Fred's right,
- 18:28Speaker 3: the order of operations matters, and the clock is ticking
- 18:31Speaker 3: because I think Gronk is up next year. You could
- 18:35Speaker 3: be within another year after that you could get Bill
- 18:37Speaker 3: involved and all of.
- 18:39Speaker 1: A sudden, Adams. This is why I'm.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Looking at like Adam and Wes Welker and Logan Mankins.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Oh yeah, no, that they'll get in. They'll get in.
- 18:46Speaker 3: If you tell me they're going to get in, I'll
- 18:48Speaker 3: believe you. But it's not as easy as you think.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Being finalists next year, that would that would be kind
- 18:54Speaker 1: of fun.
- 18:54Speaker 3: When you only pick one a year, You just what
- 18:56Speaker 3: do you think's going to go?
- 18:58Speaker 2: The two of them are up. Yeah, I mean, no
- 19:03Speaker 2: one ever said that Edelmans might be the greatest wide
- 19:05Speaker 2: receiver of all time.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Right now, but Edelman. I mean it's such.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Although who do you think was more instrumental in winning
- 19:12Speaker 2: Super Bowls? Edelman?
- 19:14Speaker 3: Ron Well didn't play. But this is all depends on
- 19:21Speaker 3: how you look at the map. I think that's what
- 19:23Speaker 3: Mike is starting to formulate, like the games themselves, you know,
- 19:26Speaker 3: Like Edelman was an m v P in the last
- 19:28Speaker 3: Super Bowl they won. He was the best player in
- 19:30Speaker 3: the field in that game. I don't think they win
- 19:33Speaker 3: the game. I wasn't probably as the best That catch
- 19:36Speaker 3: at the end you set up the only touchdown with
- 19:39Speaker 3: an unbelievable play, you know. And I think Gronk's presence
- 19:43Speaker 3: allows a lot of other things to happen that I
- 19:45Speaker 3: can't quantify, but I believe and feel. I think that
- 19:51Speaker 3: again that these guys were splitting hairs because I think
- 19:55Speaker 3: they're all Hall of famers and I don't really think
- 19:57Speaker 3: there's an argument against Julian Edelman or Logan Mankins. No, no, no,
- 20:00Speaker 3: he's not a Hall of Famer. I don't think there's
- 20:02Speaker 3: an argument for that. They're all Hall of famers, just
- 20:04Speaker 3: a matter of who gets in first.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:06Speaker 6: I think of the third down catches Edelman had against
- 20:08Speaker 6: the Seahawks and Super Bowl forty nine, on those two drives,
- 20:11Speaker 6: that catches he had against Kansas City in the AFC
- 20:13Speaker 6: Championship in twenty eight team where.
- 20:15Speaker 2: What did Josh?
- 20:16Speaker 1: What did Josh again?
- 20:18Speaker 3: It's like I just think that it kind of gets misremembered.
- 20:22Speaker 6: It's it just makes it's what makes Edelman special in
- 20:25Speaker 6: a way. I think he was, you know, in some
- 20:27Speaker 6: ways he was the opposite of Welker. They both had
- 20:29Speaker 6: great regular seasons and had I volumes to catches Welker
- 20:31Speaker 6: have more. But when the game was on the line,
- 20:33Speaker 6: Edelman had the catch of the fingertips right off the
- 20:36Speaker 6: ground and the taking the huge hit from Cam Chancellor.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Remembering all those moments that.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I would just argue that they overcame his drops and
- 20:44Speaker 3: they didn't overcome Welker's. That to me is the difference.
- 20:49Speaker 6: I remember a lot of Edelman drops I only remember
- 20:51Speaker 6: one Welker, Yeah, I mean, so it takes and I remember,
- 20:54Speaker 6: I remember Edelman drops in the suit.
- 20:55Speaker 3: I remember Edelman drops in the Atlanta super Bowl, you know,
- 20:59Speaker 3: during the course of the game. But only people remember
- 21:01Speaker 3: because they won. And you know, Welker getting ten for
- 21:05Speaker 3: one hundred and three in Super Bowl forty two, no
- 21:07Speaker 3: one remembers why because they lost.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he would have been the MVP probably.
- 21:11Speaker 3: You know, like it's unfair, but that's life.
- 21:14Speaker 1: That's all it were.
- 21:15Speaker 6: And that's what it just makes me sad a little bit,
- 21:17Speaker 6: is that that Wes Welker, that was so much fun
- 21:20Speaker 6: in two thousand and seven when you got this guy
- 21:22Speaker 6: who looks like he's five foot seven, he's got these
- 21:24Speaker 6: crazy eyes.
- 21:25Speaker 2: And you're like, who's this guy like?
- 21:27Speaker 3: And he was so good, he was uncoverable.
- 21:29Speaker 1: There was so much special about him.
- 21:30Speaker 3: It's just in six seasons he had more catches, for
- 21:33Speaker 3: more yards, for more touchdowns than edel Manhaddan eleven. Right.
- 21:37Speaker 2: And the thing about Welker is it's not only was
- 21:40Speaker 2: he a chain mover, hard to cover, exact route runner.
- 21:45Speaker 2: He wasn't a guy like uh uh, you know, one
- 21:50Speaker 2: of those smaller receivers that would drop to the ground
- 21:52Speaker 2: as soon as he called no break tackles. He was
- 21:55Speaker 2: a strong guy up too, but I mean yards after cat.
- 21:59Speaker 3: But I would say the same for Edelman, like always.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Edelman was tough, tough with the ball in his hands
- 22:03Speaker 3: after the catch too. But both great punt returners, Like
- 22:05Speaker 3: they're both like to me this, I don't really know
- 22:08Speaker 3: why that there would be a question for either one,
- 22:10Speaker 3: but evidently there is a question on welcome because I
- 22:13Speaker 3: can't even get him.
- 22:13Speaker 1: To the ballot.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like I've just dropped the ball, like
- 22:17Speaker 3: and I didn't. I didn't even I wasn't the one
- 22:19Speaker 3: who nominated him this year. I have nominated him past.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Karen Grigian did a great job of nominating West this year,
- 22:26Speaker 3: and we can't get him on the ballot. I I
- 22:29Speaker 3: don't know. I'm not sure what was supposed to do.
- 22:33Speaker 3: But I mean, this is this is what makes it fun,
- 22:36Speaker 3: you know, when it gets to this and now now
- 22:38Speaker 3: the fans will decide which one of those three guys,
- 22:41Speaker 3: all extremely deserving candidates. Vinitari would be my top choice.
- 22:44Speaker 3: It would be in that order, vinitary Mankins, Edelman.
- 22:48Speaker 6: But are you worried about Mankins because I worry that
- 22:52Speaker 6: he's gonna get caught up in the wash of the Edelmans,
- 22:55Speaker 6: the Gronks, the Bills, the tom not the Thoms, but.
- 22:58Speaker 3: That, yeah, I think he'll be of hall Off get
- 23:01Speaker 3: in eventually. I worry about Welker because we can't even
- 23:03Speaker 3: get him on the ballot. At least Mankin's been on
- 23:05Speaker 3: the ballot a couple of times. These three times, I
- 23:07Speaker 3: think on the ballot.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Mike and Flora wanted a quick question, if it was
- 23:10Speaker 2: only Welker versus Edelman, who would you put in?
- 23:12Speaker 3: I would put in Welker, But my guess is the
- 23:14Speaker 3: vast majority of you people, as Felker likes to say,
- 23:17Speaker 3: would put in Edelman. And I don't think you're wrong,
- 23:20Speaker 3: Like this isn't I get snarky a lot. This isn't
- 23:23Speaker 3: one of those examples where I'm being snarky. I'm not.
- 23:26Speaker 3: You know. This isn't like, oh, they put Kevin falk
- 23:28Speaker 3: in you know ahead of you know? No, this is
- 23:32Speaker 3: this is a truly all time great patriot.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Tyler and Delaware is the voting structured for to allow
- 23:39Speaker 2: us multiple votes. I was concerned that this may sway
- 23:41Speaker 2: and overtake the polls on this I think it should
- 23:44Speaker 2: only be one vote per site. Visit with a login
- 23:46Speaker 2: or email, you may run into people's spamming votes for
- 23:49Speaker 2: a certain player. I love the show, Thanks for the guy.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Blah blah blah. I tried to vote multiple times, but
- 23:56Speaker 2: it said you've come to your limit for this IP address.
- 24:00Speaker 3: So what is that like? Ten?
- 24:02Speaker 2: No? No, it was twice. Oh yeah, but that said
- 24:07Speaker 2: if I went to another place, on another computer, I
- 24:10Speaker 2: would probably be able to vote again because there is
- 24:13Speaker 2: no logging, which.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Fred explained system. I think that much too.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I think overall it all comes out in the wash.
- 24:20Speaker 2: But here is Evan speaking of washed. Oh I'm only.
- 24:25Speaker 10: So because I don't think I was ever. What's the
- 24:27Speaker 10: opposite of wash?
- 24:29Speaker 2: How was that?
- 24:32Speaker 3: It was good?
- 24:32Speaker 10: Yeah, we talked to it was James Bradberry Garrett brad Barrow,
- 24:37Speaker 10: which was a good seems like a good guy. Seems
- 24:40Speaker 10: like a a personality of talking and pretty lengthy answers
- 24:45Speaker 10: and thoughtful answers and just an all around good guy.
- 24:49Speaker 10: Had some good things to say about Stefan Diggs, who
- 24:52Speaker 10: obviously was with him in Minnesota for a little while,
- 24:55Speaker 10: and uh, Drake may and and just playing some competitive
- 25:00Speaker 10: ping pong already with Drake. It sounds like around the facility,
- 25:04Speaker 10: so you can tell that he understands that, you know,
- 25:07Speaker 10: the relationship between the two of them quarterback center is
- 25:10Speaker 10: going to be important. So it seems like they're trying
- 25:13Speaker 10: on and off the field to kind of build that
- 25:16Speaker 10: camaraderie already, which is which is good.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I liked what he had to say.
- 25:19Speaker 10: It seemed like a pretty personable guy.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, how was Antonio Gibson.
- 25:24Speaker 10: Oh, we haven't gotten to Gibson yet, but I've had
- 25:28Speaker 10: my chance to talk to Gibson plenty. But yeah, he's uh.
- 25:31Speaker 1: You know quick.
- 25:33Speaker 10: Yeah, I just hung out for brad Berry. He which
- 25:35Speaker 10: was which was worth? It was good?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Okay, sounds good. Back to this Hall of Fame thing, Ellen, Wisconsin.
- 25:42Speaker 2: I'm voting for Jewels. To me, it's who embodies being
- 25:46Speaker 2: a patriot. To me, that's Jewels. I think that Macan's
- 25:49Speaker 2: and Minitary both deserve it. But at the end of
- 25:51Speaker 2: the day, one is a guard and the other is
- 25:53Speaker 2: a kicker who spent more time on the Colts. I
- 25:56Speaker 2: hear that. I've heard the Colts. That's but here's the thing.
- 25:59Speaker 2: The reason why Vinitarry was up for the Pro Football
- 26:03Speaker 2: Hall of Fame is because of what he did here,
- 26:05Speaker 2: let's face it, it's because of what he did as
- 26:07Speaker 2: a Patriot. I know he won a Super Bowl with
- 26:09Speaker 2: the Colts, but what makes Adam vin Arry the most
- 26:13Speaker 2: clutch kicker of all time is the stuff that he
- 26:16Speaker 2: did with the Patriots.
- 26:17Speaker 3: I would agree with that, but I think if his
- 26:19Speaker 3: career ended when he left the New England, I don't
- 26:21Speaker 3: think he'd be up for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
- 26:23Speaker 3: I think the numbers out of really he put he's
- 26:26Speaker 3: the all time leading scorer, like he put the numbers
- 26:28Speaker 3: away with longevity too, So you don't think like what
- 26:33Speaker 3: you said is accurate. The clutch part. He's known as
- 26:35Speaker 3: being the greatest clutch kicker because of what he did
- 26:38Speaker 3: as a Patriot's I think indisputable. As you didn't see it, really,
- 26:45Speaker 3: but you heard Fred and I heard it from the
- 26:48Speaker 3: opposite end zone. We seriously couldn't see it, like it
- 26:53Speaker 3: went up and we lost it. Remember, But because I
- 26:57Speaker 3: went the opposite end zone, we were standing in the
- 26:59Speaker 3: other end zone.
- 27:00Speaker 2: We just heard people yellings like we just heard the
- 27:02Speaker 2: roar of the crowd, just we're going over time?
- 27:05Speaker 3: Was he kicking into the scoreboard end or the no
- 27:07Speaker 3: no the other end the video.
- 27:10Speaker 5: That you can vote two times per day on the whole.
- 27:12Speaker 3: I would tell you how you, Matt, I would tell
- 27:14Speaker 3: you the south end zone, but.
- 27:15Speaker 5: I went Master wants to know you can vote two
- 27:17Speaker 5: times a day for the Hall of Fame.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Two times a day times like why, why why do
- 27:22Speaker 2: we allow that?
- 27:24Speaker 3: This is your department for it? I don't know why
- 27:25Speaker 3: he's asking me these questions.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Uh Nick writes in speaking of how tough Welker is.
- 27:30Speaker 2: I remember when James Harrison absolutely destroyed him going over
- 27:34Speaker 2: the middle, and I thought he'd die, and then two
- 27:36Speaker 2: plays later he's back in the game. Of course, that
- 27:38Speaker 2: was back in the day when helmet the helmet hits
- 27:40Speaker 2: were not banned. If that happened today, Harrison might be
- 27:43Speaker 2: in jail.
- 27:45Speaker 1: There were a few of those hits over the course
- 27:46Speaker 1: of Wes Welker's career that I just I don't know
- 27:49Speaker 1: how he got out.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And like that one that Edelman took from Chancellor you
- 27:52Speaker 3: brought you brought up earlier? Is another one like that?
- 27:54Speaker 3: Those two guys tough nails. Yeah. Yeah, it made them
- 27:58Speaker 3: unique in that role because that role is generally a
- 28:01Speaker 3: very short term position. Because of that, because you're constantly
- 28:05Speaker 3: going over the middle and subjected to big hits, those
- 28:08Speaker 3: two guys were able to to stack up season after
- 28:11Speaker 3: season of production while taking that punishment.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Ian in Calcutta Patriots Hall of Fame isn't necessarily the
- 28:17Speaker 2: best player, but also the best Patriot. I agree with that.
- 28:19Speaker 3: I agree with it.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Also, Edalman easily gets the edge for by being a
- 28:23Speaker 2: lifetime Patriot, unfair to the others. As it may be,
- 28:26Speaker 2: lifetime Patriots should get preferential treatment.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I think there's something I don't I don't like that now,
- 28:32Speaker 3: that reasoning, but I do like his original premise or
- 28:35Speaker 3: her I'm sorry, yeah, forget who I think.
- 28:38Speaker 2: I think there is something different about a team hall
- 28:40Speaker 2: of Fame.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Team hall of Fame doesn't necessarily go strictly by the talent,
- 28:45Speaker 3: but I don't. In other words, I don't blame Wes
- 28:48Speaker 3: Welker for the fact that he started his career in Miami.
- 28:51Speaker 3: That's you know, and then the Patriots recognized how good
- 28:54Speaker 3: he was and they brought him here, and that's where
- 28:55Speaker 3: he became Wes Welker, like, I don't hold that against him,
- 28:58Speaker 3: and certainly mank it's his situation. I don't hold against
- 29:00Speaker 3: me what Adams.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Rick and Rhode island. Edelman gets the vote over Welker
- 29:05Speaker 2: based on the video of Belichick talking to Welker about
- 29:08Speaker 2: Wally Pip when Edelman was returning punts with Welker out.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Exactly songs song as we're using good Life.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Well, listen, Welker wasn't always Bill Belichick's favorite player because Welker.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Was little Soldiers.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Yeah, he was a sneaky wise guy, not that sneaky. Yeah.
- 29:28Speaker 10: I just I know that when we talked about the
- 29:32Speaker 10: committee meeting and even before the committee meeting, that this
- 29:35Speaker 10: was potentially something that would come up, that Edelman is
- 29:39Speaker 10: going to beat Vinitari on a popular vote. And I
- 29:42Speaker 10: feel like, very early, very small sample size on Twitter,
- 29:46Speaker 10: I get that, but it kind of feels like that's
- 29:49Speaker 10: sort of happening, like at least out of the gate,
- 29:52Speaker 10: and I'm curious to see if that's truly what ends
- 29:55Speaker 10: up happening. I think that Edelman's popularity is just through
- 29:59Speaker 10: the charts, and and I know that you know his
- 30:01Speaker 10: podcast I'm sure is going to be all over this,
- 30:03Speaker 10: and he's probably gonna have, you know, be campaigning for
- 30:06Speaker 10: himself through his podcast. Even if it's you know, tongue
- 30:09Speaker 10: in cheek, it's still going to be happy happening.
- 30:11Speaker 3: He tweeted earlier, A great company. You know. He retweeted
- 30:15Speaker 3: the graphic with the three I just like I have
- 30:18Speaker 3: the I understand the mentality of you know, the Patriots
- 30:23Speaker 3: Hall of Fame is difference, not like strictly I do
- 30:26Speaker 3: wonder about what Evan just said though, about the popularity
- 30:28Speaker 3: side of it. Like I I think if if this
- 30:30Speaker 3: was done, like saying, in like the late eighties, like
- 30:34Speaker 3: MOSTI Tatupu would be in the Hall of Fame. There
- 30:35Speaker 3: was no Patriot that he would have gone in the
- 30:37Speaker 3: Hall of Fame ahead of Andre Tippett if it was
- 30:39Speaker 3: like nineteen eighty eight vote because he was like the
- 30:41Speaker 3: most popular Patriot.
- 30:42Speaker 1: At the time. He was my favorite Patriot growing up.
- 30:44Speaker 3: You know, Most's Moose's in, you know, in the end zone.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Like I didn't know what real winning looked like back.
- 30:49Speaker 3: But I'm just saying, like the popularity side of it,
- 30:52Speaker 3: I shouldn't be grow determine it, you.
- 30:54Speaker 10: Know, Yeah, I just I feel like if we don't
- 30:57Speaker 10: go in order, then this log jam is never gonna
- 31:02Speaker 10: We're never gonna get out of the log jam because
- 31:04Speaker 10: guys like Military are going to be pushed down the
- 31:07Speaker 10: line by Edelman and Gronkowski and you know any twenty
- 31:11Speaker 10: tens dynasty guys that start to come up too. So
- 31:13Speaker 10: it's like, if you don't go in order, then you're
- 31:16Speaker 10: creating a Rabel situation where it takes some five ballots,
- 31:20Speaker 10: you know, to finally right.
- 31:22Speaker 3: I mean, you could get a situation, not a stretch
- 31:25Speaker 3: where whoever doesn't get in this year, like it's gonna
- 31:30Speaker 3: be Gronk next year. You know, McCarty's knocking on the door,
- 31:34Speaker 3: Belichick's knocking on the door, Matthew Slater's knocking on the door.
- 31:37Speaker 3: You know, a guy like Mankins could be waiting a
- 31:40Speaker 3: decade and be on the ballot every every single time.
- 31:44Speaker 3: That could happen. Easy Bill in because it's popularity.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Bill in San Diego. I agree with you guys at
- 31:51Speaker 2: welcome belongs to the Patriots Hall of Fame. Personally, I
- 31:54Speaker 2: think he belongs in the Pro Football Hall of Fame,
- 31:56Speaker 2: especially if players like Terrell Davis are in his six
- 31:59Speaker 2: years in a Patrier his uniform, or as good as
- 32:01Speaker 2: just about any wide receivers six consecutive years on any team.
- 32:05Speaker 2: As for getting into the Patriots Hall of Fame, the
- 32:07Speaker 2: two ways I see it happening are either Brady comes
- 32:10Speaker 2: out and adamantly says he belongs, which is highly unlikely,
- 32:14Speaker 2: or Craft makes an owner's pick all parcels. Well, that's
- 32:19Speaker 2: that's kind of what we're worried about. When it comes
- 32:21Speaker 2: to Welker.
- 32:23Speaker 6: I'm interested about how Bill will go with I mean,
- 32:27Speaker 6: I'm sure the fans will definitely vote Bill in, but
- 32:29Speaker 6: what's I.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Think Bill should be a special one, just like Tom was.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I mean, technically Bill still coaching, so I don't think
- 32:36Speaker 2: he should be eligible yet, but once he's done coaching, period,
- 32:42Speaker 2: I think he should be eligible.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like he wouldn't you think?
- 32:46Speaker 3: I think Bill should be eligible if he never if
- 32:48Speaker 3: he never goes back to the NFL, I think, whatever
- 32:51Speaker 3: he does in college.
- 32:52Speaker 2: But you can't, like he has to guarantee that, like
- 32:54Speaker 2: he has to tell me I'm never going back to
- 32:55Speaker 2: the NFL. Okay, now the clock's ticking.
- 32:57Speaker 10: Well, it's kind of like Tom playing in Tampa, Like
- 32:59Speaker 10: you could and putty in the Patriots.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Why do we not make anybody else make that promise?
- 33:04Speaker 3: And what why didn't we make anybody else make that
- 33:06Speaker 3: promise that they weren't coming back.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Because we're changing eligibility for that one person. We're saying
- 33:12Speaker 2: we're not gonna wait four years.
- 33:13Speaker 3: No no, no, But like, how do you know that someone
- 33:15Speaker 3: else isn't going to come back.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Because we've waited four years and probably they're not.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Oh, I'm not saying that you don't wait four years
- 33:20Speaker 3: for Bill.
- 33:20Speaker 2: If I'm saying you don't.
- 33:22Speaker 3: But I'm saying, if he coaches North Carolina for the
- 33:25Speaker 3: next three years, I'm putting him in the Patriots Hall
- 33:27Speaker 3: of Fame.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Really.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he's still coaching though, but he's not coaching in
- 33:31Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I know, But like he's one step away from it. No,
- 33:34Speaker 2: he hasn't like stopped.
- 33:36Speaker 3: He hasn't coaching for four years.
- 33:38Speaker 2: You know what I mean. It's a little different, don't
- 33:40Speaker 2: you think?
- 33:41Speaker 3: Not to me? But I understand.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Yeah, she you know, and she got Bill miked up.
- 33:45Speaker 2: A little bitting the content nows koniefa. Who's who's uh?
- 33:50Speaker 2: Who was over there?
- 33:51Speaker 1: Uh?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Jordan's no, No, there was a little little something a.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Rapper, Lil Wayne.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Lil Wayne was a rapper.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Little Wayne was practice.
- 34:07Speaker 10: Yeah, I did see that they're close contact a rapper,
- 34:11Speaker 10: you know they're close.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Andrew's important? What's up? Andrews too much?
- 34:20Speaker 3: Thanks? Like my call.
- 34:21Speaker 4: I have two things for you today.
- 34:23Speaker 8: Question on abdual Carter.
- 34:24Speaker 11: I feel like he is our ideal landing spot at
- 34:28Speaker 11: for if we can get him. Uh like a bit
- 34:31Speaker 11: of a pipe dream all the time, and now with
- 34:33Speaker 11: the traps partner going to the giants already having care
- 34:37Speaker 11: of you, like that.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Might actually give up. I just have a question about
- 34:42Speaker 4: the character concern.
- 34:44Speaker 11: I heard a story about an incident on like a bus,
- 34:47Speaker 11: but there's an altercation that.
- 34:51Speaker 10: He had hurt.
- 34:51Speaker 2: What actually happened, Yeah, I don't know.
- 34:53Speaker 3: I started with a truck like three years ago, a
- 34:57Speaker 3: year ago.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if I got into it with
- 34:59Speaker 2: a tow truck.
- 35:00Speaker 3: Don't know about the bust story.
- 35:01Speaker 10: I don't know about the story is the is the
- 35:04Speaker 10: tow truck driver? That's a hard one. Yeah, that that's
- 35:07Speaker 10: the that's the story with him. But I mean the
- 35:11Speaker 10: charges were dropped, like it never escalated beyond that. I
- 35:15Speaker 10: don't know it's not it's not like a situation that's
- 35:18Speaker 10: currently active, you know, in terms of his you know status.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Let's hope it causes him default. I'll take him. I'll
- 35:26Speaker 3: make him a.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Think about if Paul was eligible for the draft, all
- 35:28Speaker 2: the red flags about confrontations that he's had, toys, r us,
- 35:33Speaker 2: all that stuff, it would all come out.
- 35:35Speaker 3: I would say, is good luck finding a confrontation in
- 35:37Speaker 3: my past.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Youth youth sports.
- 35:41Speaker 1: They find that spot on Route nine?
- 35:42Speaker 3: Cops? Cops?
- 35:45Speaker 12: Did he like publication?
- 35:48Speaker 10: There's a on a serious note, Uh, you know, back
- 35:53Speaker 10: to Bob McGinn, had you know, his annual position by
- 35:58Speaker 10: position round up where he digs up all the dirt.
- 36:01Speaker 10: And we were joking yesterday on Catch twenty two. You
- 36:03Speaker 10: don't want Bob McGinn calling around about your client if
- 36:07Speaker 10: you're an agent, right, Like he's the one. He's a reporter.
- 36:11Speaker 10: He was with Green Bay for a very long time,
- 36:13Speaker 10: or covering the Packers for a very long time, and
- 36:15Speaker 10: he's like the grim Reaper when it comes to the draft.
- 36:18Speaker 10: So uh, he he said that, you know, there are
- 36:20Speaker 10: some concerns about Abdul Carter being high maintenance and just
- 36:24Speaker 10: being kind of a diva.
- 36:26Speaker 3: I've heard that, but yeah, but again.
- 36:29Speaker 10: Is McGinn, you know, reporting this, but that that has
- 36:33Speaker 10: been more of it than legal trouble or anything truly
- 36:37Speaker 10: off the fields, more like football character questions like Monday
- 36:41Speaker 10: through Saturday. Is this guy going to be in the gym,
- 36:43Speaker 10: in the weight room, in the film room. Is he
- 36:45Speaker 10: going to be doing you know, working on his craft
- 36:48Speaker 10: or is he kind of just one of those people
- 36:49Speaker 10: that's going to show up on Sundays and be a star.
- 36:52Speaker 10: Which I would say, well, if he's going to be
- 36:54Speaker 10: a star, then he's going to be a star.
- 36:57Speaker 3: But your boy, you mentioned the visit a dual Carter
- 37:00Speaker 3: that Albert Breer talked about. He spoke about Carter a
- 37:04Speaker 3: little bit in these terms that he's just he's kind
- 37:07Speaker 3: of a different guy and it's not all that different
- 37:10Speaker 3: from some other elite passport. He mentioned Micah Parsons, he
- 37:14Speaker 3: mentioned Von Miller. Different, just kind of the they're on
- 37:18Speaker 3: the wrong they do. Like I think the phrase that
- 37:20Speaker 3: Breer used was, I wouldn't expect him to be a
- 37:23Speaker 3: captain of a team someday. He's kind of does keeps
- 37:27Speaker 3: to himself and you know a little bit of a
- 37:30Speaker 3: you know that kind of an individual guy, not that
- 37:33Speaker 3: that he doesn't want to win, but that he's sort
- 37:36Speaker 3: of into his past rush and being great at that
- 37:39Speaker 3: and not necessarily.
- 37:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I think Will Campbell is going to
- 37:43Speaker 2: be the fourth pick for the NFL draft. I kind
- 37:46Speaker 2: of thin and I'm all in on it.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 37:52Speaker 3: We'll get some answer to the draft coming up. Now,
- 37:54Speaker 3: we'll find out from from the inside.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think, Oh, listen, we got maybe a visitor.
- 38:06Speaker 2: What's happening for what's up?
- 38:13Speaker 13: Have a welcome, all right, we're talking about Howard don't counter,
- 38:21Speaker 13: so welcome to pictures filtered hunter.
- 38:24Speaker 2: All right, So how's the workouts going? Do you feel?
- 38:28Speaker 2: Did you get Jack this morning?
- 38:30Speaker 7: To trying my best man, trying my best trying you know,
- 38:34Speaker 7: the workouts are good though.
- 38:35Speaker 1: It's good.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Are you kind of guy who I can't wait for
- 38:40Speaker 2: the season to start or you know what I need?
- 38:43Speaker 2: We need this time to get ready, Like we can
- 38:45Speaker 2: take our time here.
- 38:47Speaker 14: I like this time because it's a little bit more relaxed.
- 38:51Speaker 14: It's you know, a little bit slower, you know, a
- 38:53Speaker 14: slower pace, but kids.
- 38:55Speaker 3: To like build connections with guys.
- 38:56Speaker 7: A little bit more off the field.
- 38:57Speaker 14: You know, you're not just like diving in the game
- 38:59Speaker 14: plans and everything. So it's it's a pretty cool time.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Yeah, I got a question for you, and I don't
- 39:04Speaker 6: know if you can answer this yet. You've had different
- 39:07Speaker 6: offensive coordinator pretty much ever you've been here.
- 39:09Speaker 1: To get Josh back.
- 39:10Speaker 6: I think everybody's wondering what did Josh learn, what's going
- 39:12Speaker 6: to be different. I'm sure you probably don't even know yet,
- 39:15Speaker 6: but do you have any sense are you curious of
- 39:17Speaker 6: what's Josh gonna what's changed from when he was here
- 39:20Speaker 6: in twenty twenty one.
- 39:20Speaker 7: I mean, Josh is going to be Josh man.
- 39:23Speaker 14: It's it's hard to say right now, you know, it's
- 39:25Speaker 14: it's so early. But I'm excited to have Josh here.
- 39:29Speaker 14: You know, he's a tremendous mind. Offensively enjoyed being with
- 39:33Speaker 14: him at twenty one, so again, excited to kind of
- 39:36Speaker 14: get that ball rolling again and kind of dive in
- 39:38Speaker 14: an offense and really trying to master things. I think
- 39:41Speaker 14: that's the biggest thing with everything, you know, just trying
- 39:43Speaker 14: to you know, execute everything at a high level, because
- 39:47Speaker 14: you know, he's a great coach and demand's a lot
- 39:50Speaker 14: and excited to be under him again.
- 39:51Speaker 3: You never asked him about his fascination with the visor.
- 39:54Speaker 7: With the advisor, I haven't I have it.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Maybe y'all should ask him that any chance to throw
- 40:00Speaker 3: it all with with Drake? May you know during and
- 40:02Speaker 3: I know it hasn't been a long off season because
- 40:04Speaker 3: you're just getting back, but yeah, you know, have you
- 40:07Speaker 3: guys had any of those plans? Maybe?
- 40:09Speaker 14: Yeah, well, I mean we'll get plenty. We're gonna get
- 40:11Speaker 14: plenty for sure.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Uh.
- 40:13Speaker 14: You know, Drake's Drake's a great guy, great quarterback. So
- 40:16Speaker 14: there will be a lot of throwing sessions in our future,
- 40:19Speaker 14: a lot of you know, connections and time spent in
- 40:22Speaker 14: the meeting room and then also on the field. So
- 40:24Speaker 14: excited for those times.
- 40:26Speaker 2: So when you're sitting at home and the Patriots of
- 40:28Speaker 2: making all these free agent acquisitions, are you thinking, I
- 40:31Speaker 2: can't wait to meet these guys and have you and
- 40:35Speaker 2: you know, is there anyone that in particular like he's
- 40:37Speaker 2: like this guy's cool?
- 40:41Speaker 3: Man?
- 40:41Speaker 7: I'm glad to add everybody. I haven't been able to
- 40:43Speaker 7: meet everyone yet.
- 40:45Speaker 14: You know, it's kind of chaotic, a little bit which
- 40:47Speaker 14: all over the place, you know, splitting workouts, just doing
- 40:50Speaker 14: a lot. But yeah, I met all the guys on
- 40:52Speaker 14: the offense for sure, and excited to always add at people.
- 40:56Speaker 14: You know, I feel like we did a good job
- 40:57Speaker 14: of adding just like good football players, but also just
- 41:00Speaker 14: good people too, And we're going to add a lot
- 41:02Speaker 14: to our locker room.
- 41:03Speaker 3: So looking forward to that.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Sure.
- 41:05Speaker 10: Just how exciting is that, you know, to see them
- 41:07Speaker 10: bring in all these people kind of reminds me when
- 41:09Speaker 10: you got here in twenty one, when you came in
- 41:11Speaker 10: with a big free agency class, Like does that reinvigorate
- 41:14Speaker 10: the locker room a little bit?
- 41:16Speaker 14: I mean, it's always good to add good football players,
- 41:19Speaker 14: like I said, you know, and hopefully they can add that.
- 41:22Speaker 14: But you know, we have a lot of work we
- 41:23Speaker 14: got to put in together for sure. You know, we
- 41:26Speaker 14: got to come together as a team, We got to
- 41:28Speaker 14: come together as a locker room, and you know we
- 41:31Speaker 14: got to go out there and execute. So you know,
- 41:33Speaker 14: we have a long road ahead of us. But it's
- 41:36Speaker 14: it's fun to always add good football players in the
- 41:38Speaker 14: locker room and excited to get to work with those guys.
- 41:40Speaker 1: They brought Hooper back to teammate. How you guys compliment
- 41:44Speaker 1: each other? Good to have a guy back.
- 41:45Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean, I love who man. I really enjoyed
- 41:48Speaker 14: my time just in the room with him on the field.
- 41:51Speaker 14: You know, we communicate really well. I mean we're the
- 41:53Speaker 14: same draft class, so same age. Man, We've known each
- 41:56Speaker 14: other for so long. To actually play with each other
- 41:58Speaker 14: last year was just such a joy and excited to
- 42:00Speaker 14: kind of build upon that this next year.
- 42:02Speaker 2: So hut.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I wanted to ask you your your new coach used
- 42:04Speaker 3: to talk about this all the time when he was
- 42:06Speaker 3: a player, because you know, Fred and I are one
- 42:08Speaker 3: hundred years old. We've been around long enough that he
- 42:10Speaker 3: was playing when we were still covering. He used to
- 42:13Speaker 3: always watch the draft and he wasn't alone. Larry Gizzel
- 42:16Speaker 3: used to talk about this, and they just like cross
- 42:19Speaker 3: off the names of the guys at their position. Do
- 42:21Speaker 3: you ever look at the draft and say, oh, you know,
- 42:23Speaker 3: Tyler Warren, we don't need him slide.
- 42:27Speaker 14: Do you ever watch the draft back in that way?
- 42:29Speaker 14: I don't know if I watch it that way. You know,
- 42:31Speaker 14: I always love seeing success for the tight end position.
- 42:34Speaker 11: Man.
- 42:34Speaker 14: I feel like it's a little underappreciated, maybe sometimes in
- 42:36Speaker 14: the draft because I feel like when teams have a
- 42:41Speaker 14: good tight end. They're usually a good football team, so
- 42:43Speaker 14: I always just you know, I appreciate the tight end position.
- 42:46Speaker 14: I feel like there's a lot of good tight ends
- 42:47Speaker 14: coming out this year and so I don't know if
- 42:50Speaker 14: I watched it that way for sure, but you know,
- 42:53Speaker 14: there there's a lot of good ones. You know, if
- 42:56Speaker 14: we add one, that would be great. We'd love to
- 42:57Speaker 14: have him under my wing and teach him as much
- 42:59Speaker 14: as I can, because I had had a great guy
- 43:01Speaker 14: when I came in the league, and Antonio Gates, and
- 43:03Speaker 14: he taught me a ton and really took me under
- 43:05Speaker 14: his wing, and you know I was I'm very, very
- 43:07Speaker 14: thankful for that.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I want you to talk about your trip to Africa
- 43:11Speaker 2: because you took that with your wife during the off season.
- 43:14Speaker 2: But first we have a Claire from England who is
- 43:18Speaker 2: like our biggest fan of tight ends. Yeah, I love
- 43:20Speaker 2: it ends and hello everyone, Helloveren I have to I
- 43:24Speaker 2: have to introduce her emails that way, and hello to
- 43:27Speaker 2: the fabulous Hunter Henry big fan. With the landscape of
- 43:30Speaker 2: the sport changing just within the space of your career,
- 43:33Speaker 2: what is the biggest difference that you feel impacts how
- 43:36Speaker 2: you play your position as tight end.
- 43:39Speaker 14: Oh man, how the landscape of football.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like you know, like how the offense has changed
- 43:45Speaker 2: or rules have changed.
- 43:47Speaker 14: Man, I've gotten a lot of protection now, which is
- 43:49Speaker 14: nice over the middle of the field a little bit.
- 43:51Speaker 3: So maybe that is that could be a nice thing
- 43:53Speaker 3: for me.
- 43:54Speaker 14: Obviously the game it became a lot of a passing
- 43:58Speaker 14: league for sure in the middle part of my career.
- 44:01Speaker 14: I think it's reverting a little bit. It's you know,
- 44:03Speaker 14: it's circling back to definitely being run oriented a little
- 44:05Speaker 14: bit so, but definitely the passing league is always good.
- 44:09Speaker 14: You know, you love trying to make plays in the
- 44:10Speaker 14: passing game, So a little bit of both. But I've
- 44:13Speaker 14: always tried to be a guy that can be versatile
- 44:16Speaker 14: in the way of being a you know, a value
- 44:18Speaker 14: in the run game and a value in the past
- 44:20Speaker 14: game and trying to take pride in both of those things.
- 44:22Speaker 14: So I think that is always needed in this league,
- 44:26Speaker 14: and it's it's can be hard to find sometimes I
- 44:28Speaker 14: wouldn't say, I mean lead in the in the blocking realm,
- 44:31Speaker 14: but I you know, I try to take pride in
- 44:33Speaker 14: it and really really do a good job at it.
- 44:36Speaker 14: And so I think being a versatile tied end and
- 44:39Speaker 14: being able to do both is something I try to
- 44:41Speaker 14: do myself.
- 44:42Speaker 2: How much your quarterback is mobile effect like, has that
- 44:45Speaker 2: changed how you play a little bit more?
- 44:48Speaker 14: I mean definitely scrambled drill is a is a big
- 44:50Speaker 14: part of this league, and Drake obviously is very mobile,
- 44:53Speaker 14: and so you always have to be available and be
- 44:56Speaker 14: ready because the play can be extended and you kind
- 44:58Speaker 14: of have to keep your eyes on them, kind of
- 44:59Speaker 14: get feel for, you know, where he likes things, and
- 45:02Speaker 14: work with him because those extended plays are big plays
- 45:05Speaker 14: in this league.
- 45:06Speaker 2: So let's talk about your trip to Africa. Why did
- 45:09Speaker 2: you go and what did you experience there?
- 45:11Speaker 14: And yeah, yeah, it was man, it was a long
- 45:13Speaker 14: time in the making, feel like. So the first part
- 45:16Speaker 14: was a mission trip. I went with a group called
- 45:18Speaker 14: International Justice Mission. It's a group that me and my
- 45:22Speaker 14: wife have been supporting for about eight or nine years.
- 45:25Speaker 14: It's a Christian organization that fights human trafficking across the
- 45:30Speaker 14: globe and they have a headquarters office in Narobi, Kenya.
- 45:35Speaker 14: That's where we spent about five days. We were between
- 45:37Speaker 14: there in a town called Mambasa, which is on the coast,
- 45:41Speaker 14: and we were just meeting survivors, meeting people in the
- 45:44Speaker 14: justice centers, meeting people that do the work on the
- 45:47Speaker 14: front lines, and just the support that we've been able
- 45:50Speaker 14: to provide in a way. Just to actually see it
- 45:53Speaker 14: like in person was just honestly life changing and just
- 45:57Speaker 14: really really meaningful for my wife and I was. It
- 46:00Speaker 14: was really really cool to be with with that group
- 46:02Speaker 14: for a couple of days. And then we went out
- 46:05Speaker 14: kind of in the and did a safari uh for five,
- 46:08Speaker 14: five or six days. That's always been on a bucket
- 46:11Speaker 14: list of mine. So being able to kind of go
- 46:13Speaker 14: do that, see all the animals and uh, just do
- 46:16Speaker 14: that with me and my wife and then some friends
- 46:18Speaker 14: of ours just got the cross that off the bucket list.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Do you have any encounters We're like, oh, this is
- 46:24Speaker 2: whatever is getting a little too close step on the
- 46:27Speaker 2: internet clips.
- 46:28Speaker 15: It was.
- 46:29Speaker 3: There were a few sketchy times.
- 46:30Speaker 14: I think the first day or two, you know, we
- 46:34Speaker 14: we actually ran into some we like tracked down some
- 46:37Speaker 14: lines that like killed a buffalo and they were like
- 46:40Speaker 14: about to eat dinner and we were like this, our
- 46:43Speaker 14: driver just like pulled up on the buffalo that was
- 46:45Speaker 14: dead right there, and they were like coming over.
- 46:46Speaker 2: To eat it.
- 46:47Speaker 14: And we were all like, yo, like yeah, because this
- 46:51Speaker 14: is like this is an open truck, right, It's like
- 46:54Speaker 14: a wide open truck, like you could just jump out
- 46:56Speaker 14: or they could jump in. So it was it was
- 47:00Speaker 14: definitely a little bit jarring like at first, but the
- 47:04Speaker 14: driver's like, oh, don't worry, like these lines are used
- 47:07Speaker 14: to these trucks.
- 47:08Speaker 1: They're not.
- 47:08Speaker 14: They're like they don't even like bother us.
- 47:10Speaker 1: In a way.
- 47:10Speaker 7: And I was like, Okay, I put a lot of
- 47:13Speaker 7: trust in you, and sure enough.
- 47:15Speaker 3: You know, look at me now I'm made it back.
- 47:17Speaker 2: So how was the food?
- 47:19Speaker 14: Food was solid? You know, African food definitely grew on me.
- 47:25Speaker 14: I don't know if it was you know, there was
- 47:27Speaker 14: there were some things maybe you don't like they're used
- 47:30Speaker 14: to Buffalo, just just some things that are different. But
- 47:34Speaker 14: you know, it's good to try new cuisines, new cultures.
- 47:37Speaker 14: So you know, I really enjoyed it with that.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Getting back to the mission work, if there's one thing
- 47:42Speaker 2: that you'd want everybody to know indoor how they can
- 47:46Speaker 2: help or you know.
- 47:48Speaker 14: Yeah, I mean I think the biggest thing with just
- 47:51Speaker 14: International Justice Mission and just like human trafficking in general,
- 47:55Speaker 14: is like spreading awareness and like allowing people to know
- 47:59Speaker 14: like that this is going on because and a lot
- 48:02Speaker 14: of the areas in Kenya, these people just like are
- 48:08Speaker 14: getting taken off the streets or you know, taken from
- 48:10Speaker 14: their families. Sometimes the families are selling the kids. It's terrible,
- 48:16Speaker 14: terrible things to the you know, in these communities that
- 48:19Speaker 14: are so poor and so ridden, and there's a lot
- 48:21Speaker 14: of people that don't even know that some of the
- 48:22Speaker 14: stuff is going on. So just spreading awareness, obviously helping
- 48:27Speaker 14: fund or giving any aspect can can always help in
- 48:30Speaker 14: some aspect. If if your heart is called towards that,
- 48:34Speaker 14: I would just call everybody to like, you know, just
- 48:36Speaker 14: look into it.
- 48:37Speaker 16: You know.
- 48:38Speaker 14: That's that was someone came to talk to me when
- 48:40Speaker 14: I like in high school about like slavery and human
- 48:43Speaker 14: trafficking and I was like, I can't believe that's still
- 48:44Speaker 14: going on to this day, and it just sparked interest
- 48:48Speaker 14: in me at that time. Took me years until you know,
- 48:51Speaker 14: I was like, all right, you know what, this is
- 48:52Speaker 14: something I want to support and get behind. But hopefully,
- 48:55Speaker 14: you know, if this can impact somebody, just to you
- 48:57Speaker 14: know a little bit of spark or a little bit
- 48:59Speaker 14: of like curiosity to find out a little bit more
- 49:02Speaker 14: and help spread awareness. That's really what i GM is
- 49:06Speaker 14: all about, and what we're trying to do is just
- 49:07Speaker 14: spread awareness to try to eventually end in this in
- 49:11Speaker 14: our lifetime.
- 49:12Speaker 2: All right, well, good work, all right, we'll let you
- 49:15Speaker 2: get back.
- 49:15Speaker 3: I know you have meetings and stuff you have to do,
- 49:18Speaker 3: so you know what to ask him any scheme related questions.
- 49:21Speaker 3: That's time he's gonna come with.
- 49:24Speaker 1: You'll see.
- 49:30Speaker 2: We appreciate you stopping in anytime, guys.
- 49:32Speaker 7: I appreciate Henry.
- 49:35Speaker 2: All right, good stuff, good to see. Good to see
- 49:39Speaker 2: the guys back.
- 49:40Speaker 3: You get a little jump and you get a little
- 49:42Speaker 3: pep in your step when you give Did.
- 49:44Speaker 1: You give a speech to the team? I don't know, Fred,
- 49:46Speaker 1: Fred little rally the troops.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Not yet, not yet not I'll stop by at some point. Yeah, yeah,
- 49:52Speaker 3: we got to get maybe maybe from Minnie camp. We've
- 49:55Speaker 3: got a chance. You know, you know, there might be
- 49:58Speaker 3: a little dragging, you know, you know, like because ot
- 50:00Speaker 3: as and then Mini camp comes and they get that
- 50:02Speaker 3: time off before training camp. It's when like mentally they
- 50:05Speaker 3: might be a little drained. Freads.
- 50:06Speaker 6: They appeared like the patent speech where they got flag
- 50:09Speaker 6: in the background and Fret's got the hard hat on.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the only good a FC opponent is a dead
- 50:15Speaker 1: a FC something like that. W that's what happens.
- 50:20Speaker 2: That's that's a famous line from Patten.
- 50:23Speaker 3: So all right, I don't think the af C Eastress
- 50:25Speaker 3: in Boston.
- 50:27Speaker 2: No, No, his history.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, did you see Patton?
- 50:34Speaker 3: I did not, but I know of it. I know,
- 50:36Speaker 3: I know at the time that was.
- 50:39Speaker 2: That was the jaws of its time.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Wow, come on, so it doesn't hold up.
- 50:45Speaker 2: It was kind of a period. So you know, all right,
- 50:50Speaker 2: eight five five pass five hundred is the hotline podcast
- 50:54Speaker 2: at Patriots dot com is the email address. We're talking
- 50:57Speaker 2: about Patriots Hall of Fame, and and that voting is open,
- 51:00Speaker 2: it's Vintary, it's Mankins, and it's Edelman. I personally voted
- 51:04Speaker 2: for Vinitary. I know Paul voted for.
- 51:08Speaker 3: I haven't actually voted. That was my pick on the nomination. Yeah,
- 51:12Speaker 3: you're day in now an embarrassment of riches.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Who you're going to vote for?
- 51:17Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 51:18Speaker 10: Yeah, order matters to make Yeah me too in this case.
- 51:22Speaker 2: In this case it does, Will writes in while I
- 51:26Speaker 2: love Squirrel, that's Edelman. Welker's success in the slot is
- 51:30Speaker 2: the reason he Edelman was drafted after never having played
- 51:34Speaker 2: a down at wide receiver. Welker has a special place
- 51:37Speaker 2: in my heart, though, since the only Patriots game I
- 51:40Speaker 2: have attended was the season open in Miami, and I
- 51:42Speaker 2: watched Welker beat Ahmad Carroll for the ninety nine yarder
- 51:45Speaker 2: in Miami. The fact that he's not made the ballot
- 51:48Speaker 2: is a travesty. I will vote for Adam or Mankins
- 51:51Speaker 2: or anyone else before Squirrel until Welker gets in.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I respect that. I respect that a lot.
- 51:57Speaker 6: I will say, though, I think the Gronk and Edelman
- 51:58Speaker 6: induction ceremonies will pretty pretty lit. The kids say, that's
- 52:02Speaker 6: still lit. It'll be pretty pretty cool of that though,
- 52:04Speaker 6: There'll be a rackous crowd. Maybe not so much for Venetaria.
- 52:07Speaker 10: That would kind of be fun, Like if they let
- 52:10Speaker 10: next year, if we put them in together, like because
- 52:12Speaker 10: they already do with the past.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Rules.
- 52:17Speaker 10: Yeah, the rules need to be you know, you need to.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Rules.
- 52:24Speaker 2: Travis in West Virginia, thanks for keeping the Hunter Henry
- 52:27Speaker 2: appearance a secret until the last second. The spence was
- 52:30Speaker 2: killing me and the reveal was so exciting. Eye roll
- 52:33Speaker 2: that to Claire. I'm sure Claire was like, her email
- 52:37Speaker 2: came in before the show, so somebody tipped it.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Was actually it was tweeted out couple of times.
- 52:46Speaker 2: There's also a push notification about it.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Well, I don't think we were trying to put one
- 52:52Speaker 3: over on anybody.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Slipping Claire of the information, Like just so you know
- 52:55Speaker 1: a little tighter.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's but I gave Claire just send an email
- 53:01Speaker 2: thanking me for reading her.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Yeah, how do you think a Hunter took that?
- 53:06Speaker 2: She loves tight ends? I hope he took it the
- 53:10Speaker 2: you know, sexual way. That's funny. That's funny. The position
- 53:19Speaker 2: Mike writes in from North Carolina, Patriots needs to do
- 53:23Speaker 2: whatever it takes to move up to pick two with
- 53:26Speaker 2: Cleveland to get Travis Hunter. He's a general generational talent
- 53:31Speaker 2: that does not come around often. Plus you get someone
- 53:34Speaker 2: that plays both sides of the ball. Nothing against Abdul Carter,
- 53:38Speaker 2: but Hunter is the guy. For years, we've been complaining
- 53:41Speaker 2: about getting a young, potential superstar receiver to go with
- 53:44Speaker 2: a quarterback, and finally there's one in this year's draft
- 53:46Speaker 2: to go after. Ownership and verybel need to give Cleveland
- 53:50Speaker 2: whatever they want. So my question is, what would we
- 53:53Speaker 2: have to give up when it comes to compensation to
- 53:56Speaker 2: Cleveland to get to two. I say give them pick
- 53:59Speaker 2: four along with the Jude on round three pick in
- 54:01Speaker 2: our number one next year.
- 54:04Speaker 3: Do you want to give all that up for Travis Hunner.
- 54:08Speaker 2: He does is to move up to spots to want
- 54:11Speaker 2: to give all that up.
- 54:13Speaker 3: I don't want to do that.
- 54:14Speaker 6: I really like Travis hunter too. I still just think
- 54:17Speaker 6: that there are some questions about what is his ceiling? Look,
- 54:19Speaker 6: what is he really going to be? Is he really
- 54:21Speaker 6: going to be a play every down both way player
- 54:23Speaker 6: or where in the middle does it actually end up falling?
- 54:26Speaker 1: Is he able to go both ways?
- 54:27Speaker 3: Is what kind of at that stage of the draft
- 54:29Speaker 3: where like you're even the best playing those two guys
- 54:32Speaker 3: like the best players. We just spent fifteen minutes doing
- 54:34Speaker 3: it for ab dual Carter and now you know we're
- 54:37Speaker 3: doing it and it's happening. Like is he a generational
- 54:42Speaker 3: guy like you said, or is it the fact that
- 54:45Speaker 3: he's so versatile and so talented with the ability to
- 54:48Speaker 3: do both that we're overrating his ability to do either
- 54:51Speaker 3: one right? And I'm not saying that.
- 54:54Speaker 10: Please don't, please don't jump on because I know how
- 54:57Speaker 10: he's generational for the fact that he can play both
- 55:00Speaker 10: sides of the ball. I don't know if that makes
- 55:02Speaker 10: him a generational talent, do you know what I'm saying?
- 55:05Speaker 10: I mean, like, if you put him in last year's
- 55:07Speaker 10: receiver class, is he even the best receiver in the draft?
- 55:10Speaker 1: Right?
- 55:11Speaker 6: Like?
- 55:11Speaker 10: I think that's an honest question.
- 55:12Speaker 3: I don't think he would have been ahead of any
- 55:13Speaker 3: of those three.
- 55:14Speaker 10: I think he might have been ahead of Odoonza, but
- 55:16Speaker 10: I don't think he would have been ahead of Marvin
- 55:18Speaker 10: Harrison and neighbors. So, like, what's generational about him is
- 55:22Speaker 10: what he does, and that is that he plays both sides.
- 55:24Speaker 10: That's generational. We haven't seen that truly.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Did They called champ Bailey generational at by time?
- 55:30Speaker 10: But I don't think but Champa did it as much
- 55:34Speaker 10: as Travis under truly has played full time both sides
- 55:38Speaker 10: of the football.
- 55:38Speaker 3: I don't think, and I could be wrong, but I
- 55:41Speaker 3: don't think champ Bailey entered the draft as a legitimate
- 55:45Speaker 3: two way like he was going to play both ways.
- 55:47Speaker 2: In the now absolutely right he did not.
- 55:49Speaker 3: I don't think. I don't think, no, I know he
- 55:52Speaker 3: played both ways at George. I mean hines Wood played
- 55:54Speaker 3: like quarterback at Georgia.
- 55:55Speaker 1: You know, like there was I.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Remember like a lot of different versatility from different players.
- 56:00Speaker 3: I don't remember anybody like this that was legitimately getting
- 56:04Speaker 3: like people who matter, you know, Daniel Jeremiah's and you
- 56:08Speaker 3: know Lewis ra like guys that know what they're doing,
- 56:11Speaker 3: legitimately saying this guy could play both ways. I don't
- 56:14Speaker 3: remember that.
- 56:15Speaker 2: And you think, if do you think Travis Hunter could
- 56:17Speaker 2: have done what he did if he went to a
- 56:20Speaker 2: team like Alabama or LSU.
- 56:23Speaker 3: It's a great question.
- 56:24Speaker 1: I honestly don't think so. I mean, I it's just
- 56:26Speaker 1: you need a coach like Dion that's willing to give
- 56:28Speaker 1: you the chance, I think.
- 56:29Speaker 3: I mean, but assuming you have the opportunity, would have
- 56:31Speaker 3: been able to do it, probably, I don't know. I mean,
- 56:34Speaker 3: I think he's really really gifted athletically. I'm sure this
- 56:38Speaker 3: is a guy who was like a five star recruit
- 56:39Speaker 3: and only went to Jackson State because of Dion. Yeah.
- 56:42Speaker 10: I mean, he's basically been the best player at his
- 56:45Speaker 10: level his entire life. Yeah, you know, he's one of
- 56:48Speaker 10: those types of guys, and like Colorado's not Alabama, but
- 56:52Speaker 10: like it's the Big twelve. Like, it's not like they're
- 56:53Speaker 10: playing absolute cupcakes all the time.
- 56:57Speaker 3: It's a good level. It's not the SEC, but it's
- 56:59Speaker 3: a good level football.
- 57:00Speaker 10: I don't know. I think the one thing I would
- 57:03Speaker 10: say about him playing both ways is that I think
- 57:05Speaker 10: we all need to get out of our heads of
- 57:07Speaker 10: that happening early in his NFL career, because I don't
- 57:09Speaker 10: think the team that drafts him is going to want
- 57:12Speaker 10: him to do it right away.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Now.
- 57:14Speaker 10: We're able talked about a little bit at the owners meetings,
- 57:16Speaker 10: like if you get to the point and you're two
- 57:19Speaker 10: or even you're you know, halfway through the season, where
- 57:21Speaker 10: you feel like, all right, he has a really good
- 57:22Speaker 10: grasp of corner, like he knows what he's doing. We
- 57:25Speaker 10: feel comfortable with him at corner. Now, let's see if
- 57:28Speaker 10: we can mix in some touches on offense. There are
- 57:31Speaker 10: some snaps on offense, that's one thing. But I don't
- 57:34Speaker 10: think anybody is expecting him to come into the league
- 57:37Speaker 10: Week one and be playing seventy snaps on both sides
- 57:40Speaker 10: of the football, Like, I don't think that's what we're
- 57:42Speaker 10: looking at it in history, it's more of a long
- 57:45Speaker 10: term thing.
- 57:46Speaker 3: Imagine like what like they draft Travis Hunter and first game,
- 57:51Speaker 3: like out of the shoot, he plays like every snap.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Like what does it look like in practice?
- 57:54Speaker 6: I mean, we obviously practice closes off to any game,
- 57:57Speaker 6: but what if we're in training camp and it's like
- 57:58Speaker 6: he's with the offense that he just pops over the
- 58:00Speaker 6: next day going back and he practiced.
- 58:02Speaker 10: He practiced with the with the defense at Colorado. So
- 58:05Speaker 10: he practiced mostly at corner at Colorado. But it's you
- 58:10Speaker 10: can't play like high school. Like in high school, like
- 58:13Speaker 10: on on Tuesdays you do offense. On Wednesdays you do defense,
- 58:17Speaker 10: you know, because it's the same guys.
- 58:19Speaker 6: Right, I mean, not to blow my own, I wasn't
- 58:22Speaker 6: probably the worst tackle to ever play high school football,
- 58:24Speaker 6: but that first game, like I got talked into playing
- 58:26Speaker 6: when I went to prep school, and then I realized
- 58:28Speaker 6: during the course of the game, I'm playing every snap
- 58:31Speaker 6: because we didn't have enough guys. So I played every
- 58:33Speaker 6: special teams and I was terrible. I'm not saying that
- 58:35Speaker 6: that was good. Why they made him.
- 58:36Speaker 3: Play for the Cross because they didn't have enough guys
- 58:39Speaker 3: because he had he was the only quarterback, and like
- 58:42Speaker 3: that kid don't want football.
- 58:47Speaker 1: They saw this and they're like, you're a tackle, like
- 58:49Speaker 1: six ft, they're a big guy.
- 58:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:53Speaker 6: I never want anything to be over more than Willison Northampton.
- 58:56Speaker 6: Oh my god, they took their starters out, but I
- 58:58Speaker 6: wear the halftime. I'm like, I know I ever wanted
- 59:00Speaker 6: anything to be over more in my life than that
- 59:02Speaker 6: football game because they were just killing me, killing me
- 59:05Speaker 6: and I was, you know, defensive tackle too, So I'm
- 59:07Speaker 6: in like a four point stance.
- 59:08Speaker 1: I can barely like it's problem bent over. You know,
- 59:12Speaker 1: it's bad.
- 59:12Speaker 10: It's funny because we were watching the Bruins have that
- 59:15Speaker 10: all cast now with like Bergeron and Tuker Rask and Bergeron.
- 59:20Speaker 10: They asked him about practicing on the PK and he
- 59:22Speaker 10: was like, well, I didn't really get to practice it
- 59:24Speaker 10: very much because I was on the power play, right,
- 59:26Speaker 10: So they would rather be practice the power play than
- 59:29Speaker 10: practice on the PK. So Patrice Bergeron killed penalties at
- 59:34Speaker 10: maybe the highest level of anybody that you know of
- 59:37Speaker 10: his generation without really practicing it. And like, that's kind
- 59:40Speaker 10: of how I feel about Travis Hunter, a wide receiver,
- 59:43Speaker 10: is that like he didn't even really practice it and
- 59:45Speaker 10: he was one of the best in the nation at
- 59:47Speaker 10: it just off of God given instincts and natural talent.
- 59:50Speaker 10: Like imagine if he actually gets a chance to really
- 59:52Speaker 10: focus on it and practice it, you know, day in
- 59:55Speaker 10: and day out, Like how good he could get at it.
- 59:56Speaker 3: That's what would you be willing to give up for him? Fred,
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Because I think the draft pick and I'm not a
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: huge like we got to hold the draft picks kind
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: of guy Joe Milton, But I think the draft picks
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: are important right now too, Like the quantity of those,
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: like the four top hundred picks, right, I would hesitate
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: to give up two of them.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I would be I might be willing to, you know,
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: obviously the pick swap and then next year is two
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: and three.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: So well, so you don't give it up any of
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: them this year?
- 1:00:31Speaker 12: Right?
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: I just like hear something no, because like if I
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: tell them we'll give you a fifth or like they're
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: gonna laugh. So it's got to be high picks other
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: than the swap.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: You know, the swap doesn't count, I know, So it's.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: It's gotta be high picks, and I don't want to
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: give up high picks this year.
- 1:00:48Speaker 10: Yeah, you need about eight hundred points on the trade
- 1:00:52Speaker 10: value chart, which is the equivalent of like a mid
- 1:00:54Speaker 10: to low first round pick. So you have to get
- 1:00:58Speaker 10: to the future first. So your future, can I guess
- 1:01:02Speaker 10: the future first is really a decent.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: How about a future first two years from now?
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: It's really like and then second, yeah, it's even more removed, right, Yeah,
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: I just I don't think Travis Hunter's worth two first rounds.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess. I guess I don't love him that much, you.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Know, I see, I am incredibly intrigued by the talent.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: I just don't think they're in a position where they
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: can make that kind of a trade. I think these picks,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: they're going to have to find some good football players
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: with those four picks. I mean, they're going to need
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: to find you know, at least two hits.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: If you knew that he was going to be a
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: perennial floor pro bowler, I'm not saying all pro. If
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: you knew every year he was going to be.
- 1:01:49Speaker 10: A pro bowler, what would you give him at what position?
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Wide receiver?
- 1:01:55Speaker 10: That I mean a decent amount. But I don't have
- 1:02:01Speaker 10: a crystal ball, right, you know, I don't know if
- 1:02:03Speaker 10: he's gonna be there.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: If you're gonna tell me he's in the conversation with
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: with Chase and you know in the AFC Chase digs,
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: you know, as an AFC pro bowler. Yeah, now I'm
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: willing to give up two of those those picks. But
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: you can't do it that I know, I know.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Jeremiah writes in Back to the Hall of Fame, I
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: honestly would put Vinetarian this year, then put Gronkson Jewels
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: in next year. Evan literally said this as I was
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: finishing the email.
- 1:02:30Speaker 10: If there's a year to put two guys in together,
- 1:02:33Speaker 10: like they are like the best of friends, right, So
- 1:02:35Speaker 10: I feel like that it's not good. They're not gonna
- 1:02:37Speaker 10: look at that and be like, oh, this is disrespectful,
- 1:02:40Speaker 10: Like they you're gonna look at it like this is
- 1:02:42Speaker 10: a chance to party, you know, Like so.
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Paul has a very important phone call apparently anyways, yep,
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Sean writes in Wes Welker is a better football player
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: than Julian Edelman, but he's the victim of circumstances beyond
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: his control. Playing for just one team as a small factor,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: but winning super Bowls is the main thing. Edelman was
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: fortunate to be part of three super Bowls and being
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: the MVP in one of them for Welker. Unfortunately, he
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: was with the Patriots between seven and twelve and the
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Giants ruined his path. It's like the Patriots in the
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Pro Football Hall of Fame, Gino Capilletti and Stanley Morgan
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: are good enough to be there, but the Patriots didn't win.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's all fair.
- 1:03:26Speaker 6: You get into the nitty gritty of it, and you
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: keep having examples on both sides for both those guys,
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: and it's hard to choose between your kids because both
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: those guys made so many huge plays, put their bodies
- 1:03:37Speaker 6: through so much punishment for this team and to win games.
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: And I've always hated that Welker gets killed for that
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: one play. As Paul said, super Bowl forty two, he
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: probably would have been the MVP. It probably would have
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: had a very similar kind of trajectory that that Edelman had.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: But yeah, I just.
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: Wonder, like from the committee, like my question about it
- 1:03:57Speaker 10: would be what Logan Macons more deserving than Wes Welker
- 1:04:03Speaker 10: to be on the ballot. No disrespect to Logan Macons,
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: but he was in the no Super Bowl, you know,
- 1:04:10Speaker 10: ten year period to see it's the same thing, right,
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: So if we're gonna hold all of like, you know,
- 1:04:16Speaker 10: he didn't win and he doesn't have a ring in
- 1:04:17Speaker 10: edelmanhett like I We're gonna you hold out against Welker,
- 1:04:20Speaker 10: I'm not. I I love Logan Macons too. He's one
- 1:04:24Speaker 10: of the best offensive linemen of the Dynasty, no doubt
- 1:04:27Speaker 10: about it. But at the end of the day, he's
- 1:04:29Speaker 10: he's a guard and we're talking about a guard versus
- 1:04:32Speaker 10: a prolific wide receiver, right, And so if you're gonna
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: be like, basically stand for Logan Makons because he's been
- 1:04:39Speaker 10: on the ballot multiple years in a row at this point,
- 1:04:42Speaker 10: and but you're not gonna put Welker on the ballot
- 1:04:44Speaker 10: because he dropped the ball in the Super Bowl that
- 1:04:47Speaker 10: wasn't a great throw like that. That's what we're gonna
- 1:04:50Speaker 10: we're gonna do. But for Logan Macons, it's yeah, like
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: we don't care, Like I just don't understand that.
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: That's why I worry that Logan Makins is gonna be
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: the maid of honor for these next few years of
- 1:05:01Speaker 6: halling fame inductions because there's just.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Big names with big followings and recency bias. Yes, it
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: all plays into it.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: Yep, Luif writes in Deuce was right. Tuesday's conversation about
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: Mike's and CIS students got me thinking, since he said
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: his ancestors are from Quebec City, which is also my hometown.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: I started doing some reading about the history of the
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Dusau name in Quebec City, and it turns out that
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: there is actually a historical building in Quebec City under Dusau.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: It's named the Misson Francois Xavier Dussault. It was built
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: between eighteen eighty seven and eighteen ninety one. Around that time,
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: the Dessaux family ran a very successful tobacco manufacturing business,
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: which helped them secure the fortune necessary to build such
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: a nice building. Seriously, you should look it up. It
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: looks great. Anyway, I'm done with my boring friend Canadian
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: history lesson. Thanks for so are thosey Well?
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but I could go even farther back than that.
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: The original is named to Saint Japan who was there
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: in like the sixteen hundred, so early early one. Yeah.
- 1:06:00Speaker 10: Do you do like ancestry or something?
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: It was so fun.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I do have like generational wealth?
- 1:06:05Speaker 6: Liked No, but I think you guys would probably be surprised,
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: like if you did if you did it, it's fascinating
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: when you uncover who all your ancestors were.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: And my ancestors were probably like European peasants.
- 1:06:17Speaker 10: Well, I mean a lot of my peasants, Like my
- 1:06:19Speaker 10: ancestors were like Romanian Jews. Like cool, it's not like
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: I'm like famous, it's all.
- 1:06:25Speaker 6: It's all from my grandmother's mother. She's old American and
- 1:06:28Speaker 6: she has all the roots going back to like connections
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: to the witch trials, connections to Plymouth plantation, King Phillips
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: were revolutions civil alas.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: So were you lighting matches during against it? Like what
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: was what was going on?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Yeah? I was lighting lighting off the cannons.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Wow, that's something that to know that, that's pretty cool
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: to know that type of family history.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Oh, it's that's super fun.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: I'm jealous of people who haven't done it because I
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: got kind of the end where you know everything and
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: I know where all you know how all my different
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: ancestors got here. A couple from Ireland, a couple from
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: plumbers from Scotland's and other big which not as not
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: as flashy fred as some of the other ones.
- 1:07:02Speaker 17: I know.
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: They had plumbing back back in the nineteen hundred, I
- 1:07:06Speaker 6: had two ancestors coming that were both plumbers from Scotland.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Wow, okay, not that exciting.
- 1:07:11Speaker 10: It's very interesting.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: I don't have any of this knowledge, not really any
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: desire to learn it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Why what what's the matter with you? All right, we
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: get a del into this. Why don't you want to
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: learn about history? You afraid of what you're going to find?
- 1:07:26Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 1:07:27Speaker 10: Maybe oh really he took Corleoni over Italian throw and two?
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Uh yeah, yeah, both my parents are both you know,
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: they're both Italian. But you know, I'm not like my grandparents.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: I believe on both sides were born here.
- 1:07:42Speaker 10: So they can you back to the other country.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: No, but I'm just saying, like it's not like you know, yeah,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: but I'm not going to use the derogatory terms, but
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: off to both.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: There's other like their parents were probably maybe immigrants. I
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: assume that's how they got here, and like going back, like,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: you know what part of Italy your family's from.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: I believe Avellino Avelino.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Yeah, is that northern south?
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I believe it's a little bit toward the south.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I would say it's north because you're blue eyes.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: So that's like I thought. I always thought that, you know, so,
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: now he's gonna he's gonna make How do you don't know?
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: S you should learn?
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: I always thought I was from northern Italy because of that,
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: I'm very fair skinned, blue eyes. But you don't have
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: that olive oil question in the charm Yeah, I have
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: the charm product.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: People are from Avellino, Yeah.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: From it. I believe I'm from Avellino. I believe both
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: my grandparents, both my mother and father's parents, they're emanated
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: from the same area, probably all came together.
- 1:08:45Speaker 10: They can trace you back to the mother country, I think,
- 1:08:48Speaker 10: and which means that you could be a made man, right, Oh,
- 1:08:52Speaker 10: I think not.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: I grew up in the right place for it.
- 1:08:55Speaker 10: I mean, do you think not because you would never
- 1:08:58Speaker 10: do that sort of thing, or because as they can't
- 1:09:00Speaker 10: trace you back to the mother country.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: You don't go looking for you you don't want to.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: I don't have the answers. I don't have the answers,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: But I just I feel like I hear like Mike's
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: story is a great one, that he did all that
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: research and found out all these wonderful things. I hear
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: so many other stories that don't end like that, that
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: kind of.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Just like fizzle out, well worse, Well, like you find
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: out some dark secrets, like you like.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Your families were own slaves or something something you don't
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: want to know.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Well, I know, but like maybe you should know, you know,
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: I don't know. I just think it's interesting.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Well Lane's I did Lane.
- 1:09:35Speaker 6: Her her family is from Sicily and her grandfather great
- 1:09:38Speaker 6: grandfather rights Lane. He was a coal miner in like
- 1:09:41Speaker 6: the late eighteen hundreds, early nineteen hundreds, Like coal miner,
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: Like talk about a crappy job being a coal miner.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: Like good, good, honest working.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Now like hunting, like yeah, yeah, it's like Zoolander the
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Black Pop exactly.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Tyler and Ludlow. I'm formally calling out Deuce because his
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: alma is going to get smoked by my alma mar
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Northern Illinois. Oh really, to kick you off the college
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: football season, we added a full back in the draft.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Post draft, I would love to see the Patriots pick
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: up former n i U full back Brock Lampy or
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: l A m p e. Sounds six fifty two pounds
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: of us as a blocker, but has the ability to
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: catch passes out of the backfield.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: We need to pick him, so I can say that
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: we should ask Hunter the full back coming back.
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: But that's true.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I guess they probably would have had the full back
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: by now.
- 1:10:29Speaker 12: Don't you think.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: Futures kid that they I forget what's the kid's name
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: that they signed to a futures contract. It's kind of
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: a full back to Oh yeah, he's a tight end,
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I think, but he's kind of a more of a.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Can they make him a full back?
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: Talking about Scattaboo, Yeah, uh no, no, no, Skatboo's a
- 1:10:49Speaker 10: running back. He's too small to be a full back.
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: I got a sleeper for that's the guy.
- 1:10:55Speaker 10: That's no, there's only one full back in this draft
- 1:10:58Speaker 10: that the Patriots can get.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Pat Conroy. Okay, you don't know who that is? Yeah?
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: I do. That's just frightening.
- 1:11:07Speaker 10: I mean, is he a fullback?
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: DA Day three sleeper? Incredible athlete, spent most of his
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: time as a tight end, but I think he could
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: have like full back traits.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: What's his measurables?
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: I don't have him in front of me thirty.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: What does he go to school?
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: You went to reading high old Dominion. He finished his
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: curritle Dominion.
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: Ok.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: And he was productive, really high end athleticism for the position.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Though.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: Seriously, his his raw scores were among the best that
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: they've had for fullbacks. Now, I know that's a smaller sample.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: You don't have fifty full backs in every draft class.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: You know, it's a smaller group. But his were very,
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: very high end over the last twenty five years.
- 1:11:52Speaker 10: This is why I know who he is. Good combine,
- 1:11:55Speaker 10: So you knew that, Yeah, good combine play.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: With my nephew.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: Tyler also wants to know if you were to go
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: on Julian Edelman's podcast Games with Names, which game would
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: you want to discuss Games with Names?
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: Probably twenty eight to three for me, I do you
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: know there is a sauce spot for me for jewels
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: for stealing my thing that whole games are names things?
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: Fred and I have been talking about that for years.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: They stole it.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: From Harper's Harper's mouth.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, the bad Ones, Yeah, maybe Dot Jackson.
- 1:12:25Speaker 6: The comeback against the Broncos in twenty thirteen, that's a
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: good one was kind of a coming up party.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: What the name of that one is?
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Though?
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: I was here for Peter. That's Peter, that Peter Peter
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: come back.
- 1:12:33Speaker 10: I was here Peter. I was here for that one. Yeah,
- 1:12:36Speaker 10: I don't remember much of it.
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: Oh that was back before you were covering the team
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: and just oh yeah, weren't those the days. Imagine watching
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: a football game like that.
- 1:12:44Speaker 10: Now, we had great seats there. My my uncle took
- 1:12:47Speaker 10: me for my twenty first birthday. We had his company seats,
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: like fifty yard line, ten rows up.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: It was cool that night.
- 1:12:54Speaker 10: It was freezing. Like half our group left at half
- 1:12:56Speaker 10: time because they were down twenty four to three and
- 1:12:58Speaker 10: they're yelling at them.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: I did not think they were going to come back
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: and win that game. There's like a lot of games.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Do you remember there was a home game Colin Kaepernick,
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: San Francisco era. Yeah, I want to say, I want
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: to say they already won the three. I never thought
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: that game was over. I thought there was I thought
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: there was a chance the Patriots had come back, and
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: ultimately they did. I think they came back and tied
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: it and then San Francisco went right down to a touchdown. Yeah,
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: that game against Denver that night, the Patriots were so
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: sloppy in addition to Denver being so good. I just
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: I didn't think there was any chance they were going
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: to come back.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: I I have so little recollection of that Denver game.
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: Sam, It's so weird.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: No, it's so weird. I don't know what was going
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: on that game, but I was definitely just like and uh,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: I mean, obviously I remember them coming back, but I
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: just like the details of that game.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: I have very very little ran for over two hundred
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: ye yards, but the Wisconsin the Wisconsin ball ball Monty
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: bal Monty had a huge fumble on a screen that
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: because they they were moving the ball every time they
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: got it like. The Patriots didn't stop them like ever,
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: but they still somehow managed to come back because they
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: kept doing something colossally stupid like that, and all the
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: mistakes the Patriots made in the first half, the Broncos
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: did it in the second half, and then the Patriots.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: People forget this. The Patriots actually had a seven point
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: lead with Denver having the ball going into the wind
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: at the end, and they in Denver again, like I said,
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: they moved it every time. They went right down the
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: field and scored to tie the game, and then went
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: overtime and they had the ball hit the up back
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: on the punt and Kestowski kicked the field goal.
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: I just remember watching the opening game that season I
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: think was the Broncos, like the NFL kickoff game, and
- 1:14:55Speaker 6: they absolutely blew doors.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: I think what Welker was.
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: On the team, right, Like Welker had gon on to
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: them at that point twenty thirteen, right like after twenty twelve,
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: and it's just being like, oh my god, this team
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: looks so good.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: They were They just came out flying.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: Was that year? Yeah, they beat Baltimore.
- 1:15:09Speaker 10: Sounds right, I Uh. That was the game, the twenty
- 1:15:13Speaker 10: thirteen game that made me your running backs don't matter person,
- 1:15:17Speaker 10: because Denver ran the ball for like three hundred yards
- 1:15:21Speaker 10: in that game. They could not get no Sean moreno
- 1:15:25Speaker 10: on the ground. The box was just wide open.
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: But yeah, they were like they were inviting him to run.
- 1:15:29Speaker 10: They were begging them to run the football.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Every time the other team ever had success doing anything,
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: it was automatically perceived that Bill did that on purpose.
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: But on that particular thing, totally, I do believe that
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: that was part of the design. Was we got to
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: give something up. Yeah, we'd rather have him do this
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: six eight yards at a time as opposed to Manning
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: throwing it all over.
- 1:15:50Speaker 10: He literally they were literally playing with a five man box.
- 1:15:53Speaker 10: In the second half, it were two high safeties just
- 1:15:56Speaker 10: begging Denver to hand the ball off. And I remember
- 1:15:59Speaker 10: Peyton just checked out of every pass play because of
- 1:16:02Speaker 10: the box count and like and I just could imagine
- 1:16:05Speaker 10: Bill being like, do it again, check out of it again.
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: But if they don't fumble, oh yeah, I mean they
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: score thirty whatever points. You know, if they don't fumble,
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: they probably win the game. But I do that is
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: one of the rare times that you know, the the
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: Wall defenders. I actually agreed with that night. I do
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: think that that was part of Bill's plan, was we
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: got to we got to give him something, because you
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: can't take everything away. I'd rather have no Chamreno run
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: for two hundred yards than Peyton throw for four hundred.
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: My favorite game was the next year against Denver here
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: with like the Edelman return for touch punt return for
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: a touchdown.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Gronkad that that was a got to come. Was one
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: of my best. Yeah, exactly, I got to see my
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: guy my favorite games.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Jake writes in Fred it looks as though you're wearing
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: a Turgarian dragon on your T shirt this afternoon. Is
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: this true?
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: It is?
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I dug deep in the T shirt drawer
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: this morning.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: Question of T shirts would you say you have?
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: I don't know, probably forty, I'm probably yeah, I'm probably
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: in that neighborhood too, uh. Question A lot of them,
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: though I don't wear anymore, you know, they too many stains. No,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: it's just like either they don't fit or like, it's
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: just I'm not interested in what they say.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: You attached to them. You can't get rid of them.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: Like, yeah, like it's a T shirt and you never know,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: you know, why not? You know, you don't throw away
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: good clothes. Question for the group, what Game of Thrones
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: character would you have sat on the Iron Throne?
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: John Snow.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: Right? Yeah, but John snow couldn't you know, because I
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: can't anticipate.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Throw those things out.
- 1:17:40Speaker 10: I wish that Game of Thrones ended with the happy
- 1:17:44Speaker 10: ending in Denarius never turned. That that's that would That
- 1:17:47Speaker 10: would be my personal wish because personally spoiler alert if
- 1:17:52Speaker 10: you haven't seen the show, personally you had a crush
- 1:17:55Speaker 10: on her, well obviously, but like second to that, I
- 1:17:58Speaker 10: just think that that he'll turn and was so poorly
- 1:18:01Speaker 10: done that all of a sudden she went from like
- 1:18:04Speaker 10: the savior of the world that they live in to
- 1:18:09Speaker 10: burning an entire city down with a million people just
- 1:18:12Speaker 10: in like two episodes we did that.
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: It was.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: It did seem rushed, Yeah, it was. I could unders
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: like maybe if they had developed that a little bit more.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: But I can understand why she turned after all she
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: had gone through and no one's gonna question me anymore.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: But that's it.
- 1:18:27Speaker 10: Yeah, but there's a difference between that and burning an
- 1:18:31Speaker 10: entire city to the ground with your dragon. There's kind
- 1:18:35Speaker 10: of a middle ground.
- 1:18:36Speaker 18: I said.
- 1:18:37Speaker 15: I think the issue is how quick it was. Weren't
- 1:18:38Speaker 15: the series or showrunners like rushing to get Game of
- 1:18:41Speaker 15: Thrones don to go work on Star Wars and then
- 1:18:43Speaker 15: they got fired from Star Wars.
- 1:18:45Speaker 10: And they also ran they ran out of source material,
- 1:18:49Speaker 10: which was a big part of issue.
- 1:18:51Speaker 15: Yeah, Georgia Mark got lazy, He got too rich and lazy.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: This is one of my hot takes. Though I thought
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: the Game of It was fine, It was fine, fine.
- 1:19:02Speaker 10: I've never been worrying an end of a show ever
- 1:19:05Speaker 10: in my life.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: He's he's a TV nowhere.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but like, but when you think of some of
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: the most memorable TV moments, Game of Thrones has a
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: lot of them, Yeah, sure, for.
- 1:19:16Speaker 10: How good the show was for the entire duration of
- 1:19:19Speaker 10: the show to end it so poorly, was one of them. Like,
- 1:19:23Speaker 10: I've never been as angry about TV as I was at.
- 1:19:26Speaker 6: That, but just you feel like I just like, to me,
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: it was like there were so many possibilities in speculation,
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: what could it be, what could happen, and it was like,
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: ultimately it's got to be something like it's not going
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: to be all that cool, and like, I think the
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: big thing they wanted was to say who John Snow
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: really was and who his parents really were, and that
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: was the big twist that they were hoping landed.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: The end was a little clunky shirt, but I don't know,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: at the end of the day, you gotta wrap it
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: all up somehow.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Yeah, they've no it rarely has rarely has a series
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: that had that many people watching it ended and everyone
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: was happy how it ended.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: I will say, and I did not watch Game of Thrones,
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: but I was will say that ending, like iconic series
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: is an incredibly difficult things. And I don't know too
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: many that people said, you know what they got that perfect?
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: There was one. It was it was a one season series.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: It was Mayor of East Town or terrific, terrific show
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: that might have had the most perfect ending.
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: A terrific show.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember that ending was perfect.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: That was with what's Kate Winsley smoking faces?
- 1:20:26Speaker 6: She was the sheriff because there's another one that's like
- 1:20:28Speaker 6: mayor of east Ham and then I was like the
- 1:20:29Speaker 6: Mayor of East may I think it's mayor of there's
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: another show that mayor of something that sounds they of
- 1:20:38Speaker 6: East east Wood or East you know.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Sorry.
- 1:20:44Speaker 10: The Game of Thrones ending, it was, it was fine.
- 1:20:47Speaker 15: It's I think people were dramatic about how.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: The years of our lives.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't need it, but I love the show.
- 1:20:59Speaker 10: I feel like that would have different for me if
- 1:21:00Speaker 10: I had watched it when it was happening, like I
- 1:21:03Speaker 10: watched The Sopranos because I'm you know, it was on
- 1:21:05Speaker 10: when I was a kid, so like when I watched
- 1:21:07Speaker 10: it as an adult, I was like, all right, I
- 1:21:09Speaker 10: could I could see this ending, But I'm sure if
- 1:21:12Speaker 10: I invested eight years of my life on it, it
- 1:21:14Speaker 10: would have been that was.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: Lost, just a regular network show that was absolute horrific,
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: horral loss. Finale.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: I was I thought you meant the ending was like.
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: I wanted that all of my time. I wanted all
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: of my time back that I invested watching the show.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: That's how bad did you get to the end like Purgatory?
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Did they not have a plan?
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: Like that's that's my guess. I don't know, because I
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: don't I don't have all the inside chat rooms that
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: Alex has.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: Was going on.
- 1:21:43Speaker 15: I was like, I need to know all the backstories.
- 1:21:46Speaker 15: I like need to be caught up on the news.
- 1:21:47Speaker 15: I want to hear from the directors, and I don't know.
- 1:21:50Speaker 15: I kind of geek out about that stuff a little bit.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. I did stay on and I listen,
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: and there was like a point.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: Where it came.
- 1:21:56Speaker 15: I don't know if it was like maybe the sixth
- 1:21:57Speaker 15: season where you have this wicked long build up throughout
- 1:22:01Speaker 15: the whole show and they create this world and then
- 1:22:03Speaker 15: all of a sudden, like it takes one episode to
- 1:22:06Speaker 15: get all the way beyond like the bridge and fight
- 1:22:09Speaker 15: the White Walkers, and it's like, Okay, this is really rush,
- 1:22:12Speaker 15: Like how did this bird travel all this distance to
- 1:22:15Speaker 15: carry this message in half of an episode?
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: You know, likes.
- 1:22:22Speaker 10: Like two see the journey, Like I understand the point
- 1:22:26Speaker 10: there's actually a really good uh Ringer podcast that's Game
- 1:22:30Speaker 10: of Thrones. Uh, it's kind of a thick it's called
- 1:22:32Speaker 10: Talk to Thrones or something like that, and uh, they
- 1:22:35Speaker 10: do it for House of the Dragon now also, and
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: like those people know more about like that world like
- 1:22:42Speaker 10: it is it's like how much I know about football?
- 1:22:44Speaker 10: I'm like, what the like, what are we doing? Like
- 1:22:46Speaker 10: you're spending all this time like thinking about this and
- 1:22:49Speaker 10: like they know all like the family trees and the
- 1:22:51Speaker 10: rel It's crazy, did you guys?
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: Are you guys doing House? Like I tapped out on that.
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: I kind of watched and I was like, this isn't
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: getting me the same way.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: I've been watching it.
- 1:22:59Speaker 10: I'm up to date on it. It's it's not Game
- 1:23:02Speaker 10: of Thrones, but.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: It's still why Like why isn't it what? What? What
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: did it lose?
- 1:23:06Speaker 6: That's what I'm asking myself. What's the loss of appeal
- 1:23:09Speaker 6: for Houses Dragon?
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: That?
- 1:23:10Speaker 6: Like cause I kind of like like the zombie subplot,
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: Like yeah, I was less about the power struggle between
- 1:23:16Speaker 6: all the different factions and I kind of like like
- 1:23:19Speaker 6: this ominous thing that's hanging over was that that you
- 1:23:21Speaker 6: know they're gonna get attacked by the White Walkers, but
- 1:23:23Speaker 6: that's out of it now, and that it's just kind
- 1:23:25Speaker 6: of power struggle, right.
- 1:23:26Speaker 10: Yeah, I would say that the two biggest things are
- 1:23:29Speaker 10: like Game of Thrones did such a great job of
- 1:23:32Speaker 10: laying the foundation for all the characters that you actually
- 1:23:35Speaker 10: like had a connection to all of the main characters,
- 1:23:38Speaker 10: so like at the end of season one, you're like,
- 1:23:40Speaker 10: what just happened?
- 1:23:41Speaker 12: Right?
- 1:23:41Speaker 10: Whereas like I feel like with Houses the Dragon, I
- 1:23:43Speaker 10: don't like feel for the characters as much as I
- 1:23:45Speaker 10: did with Game of Thrones, So maybe that's a part
- 1:23:48Speaker 10: of it. But this last season of the House of
- 1:23:50Speaker 10: the Dragon was pretty good, Like they had some some
- 1:23:52Speaker 10: real kind of like Game of Thrones ask you know,
- 1:23:55Speaker 10: deaths and like shockers and stuff.
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it was good, El said from Wiscond. Game of
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: Thrones fell off a cliff like two seasons prior when
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: they got past the books. The awfulness of the season
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: eight was of no surprise to me. Didn't even watch it.
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: How do you know it's done?
- 1:24:10Speaker 12: Right?
- 1:24:11Speaker 10: I did? Yeah, the books is the big reason.
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I've read that.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the big I mean, I read.
- 1:24:16Speaker 6: I read the books like I started watching them, like
- 1:24:18Speaker 6: I got to read these books, but he hasn't put out.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: More and so you knew he was kind of flying
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: rushed him because he.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Wasn't ready to do that's I had heard that.
- 1:24:28Speaker 6: This is like I don't know how what like like
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: maybe one in the two seasons that they had to
- 1:24:34Speaker 6: kind of make up on their own. I'm sure it
- 1:24:35Speaker 6: was guided right, but still it's not his storytelling that
- 1:24:40Speaker 6: was so well laid out in the first season.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: Bill says the best ending to a series I ever
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: saw was the finale of Will and Grace, and then
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: they ruined it by rebooting, So I don't.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: Recall that finale, but I kind of yeah, I didn't
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: really watch that show as regularly, but because you know me, Fred, yeah,
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: I'll give us much.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: It's hard to end.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: You know. One was funny, yeah, funny show.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: Yeah, good writing, good writers, very good writing. All Right,
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna take a break. I smell my food and
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: if I'm distracted like that, I just can't continue. So
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: we will be right back after this.

- 1:27:06Speaker 20: read some leftover emails for you guys, because we know
- 1:27:08Speaker 20: the listeners love to hear the emails read so right.
- 1:27:11Speaker 20: For number one, we got Jarrett from Kingston. It started
- 1:27:19Speaker 20: with Zappi, then Malie Cunningham and now Joe Milton. Some fans,
- 1:27:23Speaker 20: like London from last show really need to simmer down
- 1:27:25Speaker 20: with these third string quarterbacks calling them starters again. It
- 1:27:28Speaker 20: all worked up when they get moved as crazy. Evan
- 1:27:31Speaker 20: had Deuce heated about that, as with Wilfred Laurier University alumni.
- 1:27:36Speaker 20: I hope the Patriots pick up Taylor el Jerezma so
- 1:27:39Speaker 20: all these fans can hop on his bandwagon too. A
- 1:27:42Speaker 20: question I had about the Patriots Hall of Fame was
- 1:27:44Speaker 20: why do fans even get to vote instead of the
- 1:27:46Speaker 20: committee just putting people in who deserve it or who
- 1:27:49Speaker 20: deserve it in. I get they want fan engagement, but
- 1:27:52Speaker 20: builders and coaches will almost never get in over the players,
- 1:27:55Speaker 20: even if they deserve it.
- 1:27:57Speaker 10: That's a good point, yeah, gregor a fame obviously, just
- 1:28:01Speaker 10: have a community committee that votes and or voters, like
- 1:28:04Speaker 10: I think the Baseball Hall of Fame is like media voters, right,
- 1:28:07Speaker 10: But I get where that's coming from. Al Gertzon was
- 1:28:11Speaker 10: an interesting prospect. He's a Canadian, as the emailer alluded to,
- 1:28:15Speaker 10: and he was at the Senior Bowl but played a
- 1:28:17Speaker 10: lot of Canadian football and was a little bit older.
- 1:28:20Speaker 10: But like, you know, he's one of those guys that
- 1:28:23Speaker 10: is kind of fun, you know, like he didn't play
- 1:28:24Speaker 10: a ton of college football and that sort of thing,
- 1:28:27Speaker 10: so kind of under the radar prospect as a late
- 1:28:30Speaker 10: round pick. And look at the backup quarterback's been the
- 1:28:33Speaker 10: most popular guy in town since the beginning of times.
- 1:28:36Speaker 10: Like he's always the most popular guy in town, you know,
- 1:28:39Speaker 10: going back to like Michael Bishop with the Patriots, you know,
- 1:28:42Speaker 10: is another guy with a big arm that everybody was
- 1:28:45Speaker 10: infatuated with So this is nothing new.
- 1:28:47Speaker 20: Yeah, so on the Hall of Fame thing, good stuff
- 1:28:49Speaker 20: on the quarterback there, But Hall of Fame, it's just
- 1:28:52Speaker 20: tough because twenty years of excellence means twenty years of
- 1:28:55Speaker 20: great players. Other players are going to get started to
- 1:28:59Speaker 20: get passed over. You have the Edelman's and the Gronks
- 1:29:01Speaker 20: who were NFL superstars coming in, So it is tough,
- 1:29:05Speaker 20: and I think they might.
- 1:29:06Speaker 12: I personally think they.
- 1:29:07Speaker 20: Should maybe change how many people get in in the class,
- 1:29:09Speaker 20: just because there's so many big players coming in.
- 1:29:11Speaker 12: But Chris, you disagree, Al you disagree, especially with.
- 1:29:14Speaker 15: The dynasty years.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:29:16Speaker 15: It's I think it's gonna You're gonna start to see
- 1:29:17Speaker 15: kind of a popularity contest and it's a little bit
- 1:29:20Speaker 15: of a backlog. But I mean mister Croft did kind
- 1:29:23Speaker 15: of override it and get Bill Parcells into the Hall
- 1:29:25Speaker 15: of Fame, So maybe if that keeps having to happen
- 1:29:28Speaker 15: every year, they changed the process. But I say, leave
- 1:29:31Speaker 15: it up to the experts.
- 1:29:33Speaker 16: Yeah, I agree, you guys kind of hit on everything.
- 1:29:35Speaker 16: I just think it comes down to, like the fan
- 1:29:37Speaker 16: vote is all popular popularity contest. I mean, for my
- 1:29:40Speaker 16: generation at least. All we know growing up at least
- 1:29:44Speaker 16: is winning.
- 1:29:44Speaker 10: So when's your birthday year?
- 1:29:47Speaker 16: Sorry guys, you guys are all what forty?
- 1:29:51Speaker 15: Yeah, it was bringing the nineteen hundreds to that point, all.
- 1:29:57Speaker 16: I know was winning. So all I really, I mean,
- 1:29:59Speaker 16: I a Patriots fan, I know more than just that.
- 1:30:01Speaker 10: But spoiled.
- 1:30:03Speaker 16: My point is, all those guys coming up are all studs,
- 1:30:08Speaker 16: like you could you can make an argument for anyone.
- 1:30:09Speaker 20: I think the first ballot thing kind of matters though, Like, yeah,
- 1:30:12Speaker 20: like Edelman should be first one.
- 1:30:14Speaker 10: Well, that's the tough part about this year, is just
- 1:30:16Speaker 10: what I was gonna add about the Hall of Fame.
- 1:30:17Speaker 10: Like this is a really good litmus test of this
- 1:30:19Speaker 10: because Edelman and Vinitari could potentially go head to head
- 1:30:23Speaker 10: on the Hall of Fame ballot, and they are two
- 1:30:26Speaker 10: of the biggest fan favorites. But Edelman is kind of
- 1:30:28Speaker 10: a different generation of Patriots fans. And so I did
- 1:30:32Speaker 10: all the twenty tens Patriots fans outweigh all the early
- 1:30:35Speaker 10: Dynasty Patriots fans. You know, I'm an order of operations guys,
- 1:30:40Speaker 10: So like I feel like Vinitaria should get in first
- 1:30:42Speaker 10: and then Edelman just because for the years they went in,
- 1:30:44Speaker 10: but then you run into the problem that Gronk is
- 1:30:47Speaker 10: coming up too, so like at some point you're going
- 1:30:49Speaker 10: to get to Gronk and it's like, well, Gronk's going
- 1:30:51Speaker 10: to be a first ballot, I would think, So it
- 1:30:53Speaker 10: gets competentated.
- 1:30:54Speaker 15: You bring up a great point about it's mostly younger
- 1:30:57Speaker 15: fans that are on social media right on Internet that
- 1:31:00Speaker 15: are seeing these contests even kind of arise, as opposed
- 1:31:04Speaker 15: to the people who were there to really appreciate the
- 1:31:07Speaker 15: og dynasty.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:31:08Speaker 20: Yeah, So it's an interesting story and we'll see what
- 1:31:11Speaker 20: happens this year, all right, next Hey, everyone, the more
- 1:31:15Speaker 20: I think about this draft, the more I'm only really
- 1:31:17Speaker 20: interested in Travis Hunter. Having a super versatile players like
- 1:31:20Speaker 20: him and Marcus Jones on the team is just super
- 1:31:22Speaker 20: fun for me. Well, I'm not going to complain about
- 1:31:24Speaker 20: getting Abdua Carter or Will Campbell. There's always going to
- 1:31:26Speaker 20: be some thought of it in the back of my
- 1:31:28Speaker 20: mind that I would have preferred Hunter. I know, we
- 1:31:30Speaker 20: have we picked forth so we don't have a choice
- 1:31:33Speaker 20: in the matter. But the Giants have Molik Neighbors and
- 1:31:35Speaker 20: the Brownsie to replace Watson. Can they just let Hunter
- 1:31:38Speaker 20: slip to us that was from Valerian and Sunny Summerland BC.
- 1:31:41Speaker 10: Well, I'm with you, Valerian. I have Travis Hunter as
- 1:31:44Speaker 10: the number one player on my board mainly because he
- 1:31:47Speaker 10: plays wide receiver and the Patriots, as we talked about
- 1:31:50Speaker 10: it in another show, is Starvin for wide receivers for
- 1:31:53Speaker 10: a while? You have this young thoroughbred quarterback, and it
- 1:31:56Speaker 10: would be really great to have Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase,
- 1:32:00Speaker 10: you know, for the next five to ten years with
- 1:32:02Speaker 10: Drake May and Travis Hunter. So that's the reason why
- 1:32:04Speaker 10: I have him over Carter personally is simply just offense, right,
- 1:32:08Speaker 10: you need offense. He's an offensive player, dynamite offensive player.
- 1:32:12Speaker 10: I would love it.
- 1:32:12Speaker 16: And I feel like they're touched on defense a lot already. Yeah,
- 1:32:15Speaker 16: so you kind of need that offensive weapon. And I mean,
- 1:32:17Speaker 16: I really hope Travis Hunter falls because I think that's
- 1:32:20Speaker 16: a lot of people just go to right.
- 1:32:22Speaker 12: Yeah, I agree, I want Hunter Carter.
- 1:32:24Speaker 20: I'd be okay with Campbell, but it sucks to go
- 1:32:26Speaker 20: four and thirteen and take the least sexy position in
- 1:32:29Speaker 20: the draft, Like I mean, we saw it with Cole Strange,
- 1:32:32Speaker 20: Like you don't see any crazy plays during training camp.
- 1:32:35Speaker 12: So I mean, hunter is a thing, but hunters what
- 1:32:37Speaker 12: you want.
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: But for you know, say, you know, Matia.
- 1:32:40Speaker 10: Sometimes like when you get socks for Christmas, even though
- 1:32:43Speaker 10: it's not the sexy gift, it's not the fun.
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: Gift, it's just the gift that you need dependable. It's dependable, it's.
- 1:32:49Speaker 12: Reliable, a Nike Elite sock.
- 1:32:52Speaker 10: And this this is one of those years where socks
- 1:32:55Speaker 10: for Christmas might be the move for the Patriots.
- 1:32:57Speaker 12: That's fair.
- 1:32:58Speaker 10: You might not have these great plays that we can
- 1:32:59Speaker 10: talk about in training camp, but Drake May's jersey is
- 1:33:02Speaker 10: gonna have no mud on it after a game protection
- 1:33:05Speaker 10: and that's gonna be good too.
- 1:33:06Speaker 20: That wisdom, well, you know, we said, well said, all right,
- 1:33:11Speaker 20: let me get to the next one here. Okay, Comel
- 1:33:14Speaker 20: from Georgia one. What do you guys think about the
- 1:33:17Speaker 20: fans getting mad about this quote from wide receiver coach
- 1:33:19Speaker 20: Todd Downing on being a first time wide receiver coach quote.
- 1:33:23Speaker 20: I may not be the greatest drill footwork footwork specialist
- 1:33:25Speaker 20: out there, but I know football, and I know what
- 1:33:27Speaker 20: it takes to get the receivers open on time. I
- 1:33:30Speaker 20: know what the quarterback's thinking from a coverage standpoint end quote.
- 1:33:34Speaker 16: Uh, I think people are concerned about the footwork thing,
- 1:33:37Speaker 16: but outside of that, I don't see much much worry there.
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean he definitely is gonna come at it
- 1:33:43Speaker 10: as more of like a conceptual coach, right, like, this
- 1:33:45Speaker 10: is your job within the route concept and within the play,
- 1:33:49Speaker 10: and the quarterback has this timing and this many you know,
- 1:33:52Speaker 10: steps in his drop, and you're gonna have to be
- 1:33:54Speaker 10: able to time up with the quarterback to get open
- 1:33:56Speaker 10: and get the football. So there's a lot of value
- 1:33:59Speaker 10: in that sort of thing. I think a lot of
- 1:34:00Speaker 10: young receivers, especially struggle with the timing aspect. We hear
- 1:34:05Speaker 10: a lot about TikTok routes, Right, We're just gonna run
- 1:34:07Speaker 10: these routes with like seven breaks in them just to
- 1:34:09Speaker 10: create all this separation. We're gonna post it on TikTok. Well,
- 1:34:12Speaker 10: in the NFL, you don't have seven seconds to get open, right.
- 1:34:15Speaker 10: You have to get open off the line and get
- 1:34:17Speaker 10: open quickly. I am a little bit surprised that they
- 1:34:21Speaker 10: didn't add a assistant wide receivers coach that has a
- 1:34:24Speaker 10: wide receiver background, though, like maybe you know, like a
- 1:34:27Speaker 10: Wes Welker like a former player that you know, played
- 1:34:30Speaker 10: the position just to come in and coach up some
- 1:34:33Speaker 10: of that technique stuff. But I think there's a lot
- 1:34:35Speaker 10: of value in the conceptualization of the position as well.
- 1:34:39Speaker 20: No, totally, and that a word I just made that works. Yeah,
- 1:34:41Speaker 20: all right, Part two of Kamel's question. I saw that
- 1:34:44Speaker 20: Christian Gonzalz is eligible for an extension next offseason. If
- 1:34:47Speaker 20: he has another great year and gets All Pro again,
- 1:34:49Speaker 20: what do you think is extension would be. So that
- 1:34:51Speaker 20: being said, Jace Horn got what one hundred years or sorry,
- 1:34:54Speaker 20: one hundred million with seventy.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: Million four years?
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:35:00Speaker 12: Eventually get there one hundred years.
- 1:35:03Speaker 10: I'm trying to go serious and you're joking about. I mean,
- 1:35:07Speaker 10: that's that's pretty part for the course. So yes, what
- 1:35:10Speaker 10: so Horn Stingley, I think just got a new deal, right,
- 1:35:14Speaker 10: Denzel Ward got a new deal recently. Top of the
- 1:35:17Speaker 10: y receiver or cornerback market. We're talking about close to
- 1:35:21Speaker 10: twenty five million dollars a year at this point, and
- 1:35:23Speaker 10: I think Christian Gonzales more than earned it. If he
- 1:35:26Speaker 10: has another year like last year, we're talking about two
- 1:35:28Speaker 10: back to back All Pro seasons, he's going to be
- 1:35:31Speaker 10: right at the top of the market. So I think
- 1:35:33Speaker 10: you're looking at four years, one hundred million dollars.
- 1:35:35Speaker 20: I also think you don't want to end up like
- 1:35:37Speaker 20: the Bengals, where you wait and then other players get
- 1:35:40Speaker 20: paid and now you're.
- 1:35:41Speaker 12: Paying even more.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: Point.
- 1:35:42Speaker 12: Yeah, but he's gonna get paid eventually.
- 1:35:45Speaker 16: He needs I think he's Yeah, he's so worth it.
- 1:35:48Speaker 10: Yeah, as long as he stays healthy, he's going to
- 1:35:50Speaker 10: get totally.
- 1:35:50Speaker 16: I don't want to at all.
- 1:35:52Speaker 20: All right, this this is an interesting one and might
- 1:35:54Speaker 20: expose Evan for being unk, but we'll see.
- 1:35:57Speaker 10: Uh.
- 1:35:58Speaker 20: I was a small child when the Carolina Panthers and
- 1:36:00Speaker 20: Jags became became NFL teams. Do you remember how those
- 1:36:03Speaker 20: teams got all their players? Did they get multiple first
- 1:36:05Speaker 20: and second round picks or did they have to fill
- 1:36:07Speaker 20: the roster with mostly free agents? Fred's drafting futures made
- 1:36:10Speaker 20: me think about think of this, David Maine.
- 1:36:12Speaker 10: So the Jaguar, I mean the Jaguars, I wouldn't say
- 1:36:15Speaker 10: really developed into a great team. Carolina Panthers though, like
- 1:36:19Speaker 10: the plant the Panthers, the Patriots played in the Super
- 1:36:21Speaker 10: Bowl that was a mixed bag. Like there were guys
- 1:36:24Speaker 10: from all over the place that they kind of pulled in,
- 1:36:27Speaker 10: you know, Julius Peppers and Steve Smith and Moose Muhammad
- 1:36:30Speaker 10: of course, and you know, really good players. But if
- 1:36:33Speaker 10: I remember correctly, this is probably a better question for
- 1:36:36Speaker 10: Paul to be honest with you, because he's really good
- 1:36:37Speaker 10: at this kind of stuff. But if I remember correctly,
- 1:36:39Speaker 10: they kind of dipped into every avenue.
- 1:36:42Speaker 12: You know, there's expansion draft, right, yeah.
- 1:36:44Speaker 10: Usually you get an expansion Draft and then usually that
- 1:36:47Speaker 10: team gets the first overall pick. I think Houston did
- 1:36:50Speaker 10: they took Mario Williams or David Carr or one of those. Yeah,
- 1:36:54Speaker 10: one of those picks. So yeah, it was. But I
- 1:36:58Speaker 10: remember Carolina and I remember them building a really good
- 1:37:02Speaker 10: roster with John Fox just going about it all different
- 1:37:05Speaker 10: ways and underrated Patriots Super Bowl, like not a one
- 1:37:10Speaker 10: that's like really stands out to most people, but in
- 1:37:12Speaker 10: terms of that game itself, like that was one of
- 1:37:15Speaker 10: the best games.
- 1:37:16Speaker 12: At That would be a crazy game.
- 1:37:18Speaker 20: Now if it was when Twitter was out stuff like that,
- 1:37:21Speaker 20: just think I think the reactions would have been crazy. Yeah,
- 1:37:25Speaker 20: all right, last question, Hey, guys, what do you think
- 1:37:27Speaker 20: is Stefan Digs wearing number eight. At least it's not
- 1:37:29Speaker 20: the curse number seventeen. Have a nice day, Steffan from Vienna.
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Stefan, Stefan on Stefan.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: There we go.
- 1:37:37Speaker 15: So Dick shared a little bit I don't know when
- 1:37:39Speaker 15: this will air, but to us it's last night about
- 1:37:42Speaker 15: him choosing eight, and he shared a screenshot in particular
- 1:37:46Speaker 15: just about the symbolism of the number eight in the Bible,
- 1:37:50Speaker 15: as well as sharing screenshots of Kobe Bryant's number eight
- 1:37:55Speaker 15: Lakers jersey. So I thought that was pretty cool. I'm
- 1:37:57Speaker 15: hoping to talk about that with him in the near future.
- 1:38:00Speaker 15: We will get him on PEU at some point and
- 1:38:01Speaker 15: we can ask him personally.
- 1:38:03Speaker 16: I also think it's like kind of a new error
- 1:38:05Speaker 16: for him and just trying to take this up forward.
- 1:38:07Speaker 16: And I mean, if you could wear fourteen, yeah, you
- 1:38:10Speaker 16: could wear one again if he wants, but.
- 1:38:12Speaker 12: The Laine fourteen, yeah exactly.
- 1:38:14Speaker 20: I find it interesting because us growing up, receivers were
- 1:38:19Speaker 20: in the eighties, but now if you wear an eighties
- 1:38:21Speaker 20: it's considered like the wash number, which is crazy to me.
- 1:38:24Speaker 20: But I think eight eight's a solid one. You'd probably
- 1:38:26Speaker 20: be like eighty eight that's a big eighty three guy.
- 1:38:29Speaker 10: Eighty eight it's a good receiver.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Yeah, eighty eight is a good eighty nine also does Bryant.
- 1:38:33Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, But having eight thoughts on eight, I don't
- 1:38:37Speaker 12: mind eight. You don't care. You just want him to me,
- 1:38:39Speaker 12: I don't.
- 1:38:39Speaker 10: I just want him to catch passes.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: But I would say with with digs though.
- 1:38:45Speaker 10: What I like about eight is there's a lot of
- 1:38:47Speaker 10: talk about him potentially taking one, which is currently Jalen
- 1:38:50Speaker 10: Polk's number, and like, technically he's the veteran, Like he
- 1:38:53Speaker 10: probably could pay Jalen Polk or something like that, or
- 1:38:55Speaker 10: you'll give him some sort of thanks buddy for the number.
- 1:38:59Speaker 10: But I like that he didn't want to do that,
- 1:39:01Speaker 10: Like he put it out on social media, I remember,
- 1:39:04Speaker 10: and kind of took a poll of fans of what
- 1:39:06Speaker 10: number they wanted him to take, and a lot of
- 1:39:07Speaker 10: people said one, and he's like, no, one, One's taken
- 1:39:10Speaker 10: by Polk. It's his number. And I kind of like that.
- 1:39:13Speaker 15: So here's what he shared about the number.
- 1:39:16Speaker 17: Eight.
- 1:39:16Speaker 15: Says the number eight is very significant, such that it
- 1:39:19Speaker 15: is used seventy three times in the Bible. It's the
- 1:39:21Speaker 15: symbol of resurrection and regeneration in the Bible numerology eight
- 1:39:26Speaker 15: means a new beginning and denotes a new order or creation,
- 1:39:29Speaker 15: a man's true born again event where he's resurrected from
- 1:39:32Speaker 15: the debt into internal life.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: Wow, that's deep, perfect way to join the Patriots.
- 1:39:39Speaker 20: All right, guys, thank you for joining the Patriots. PU extras.
- 1:39:43Speaker 20: Let's get back to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: And now great moments in.

- 1:40:04Speaker 2: good luck. I'm a writer in progress and have just

- 1:40:21Speaker 1: know what that is.
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: It sounds like she sent it off. It's like this works.
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: No, she said she's sent it off, like she's trying
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: to get it published.
- 1:40:28Speaker 10: Well, unless I'm misunderstanding what she's saying.
- 1:40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Well she's hers is finished, Yes.
- 1:40:33Speaker 10: So's mine.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: It is why I am trying to get it published.
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: The Africa one. Yes, it's a long time ago.
- 1:40:39Speaker 19: Right, that's another great moment from.
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: There was more to that, but anyway, it all comes
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: full circle though Africa trip I love, No one has
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: it doesn't exist. All right, we're back here in pages

- 1:41:42Speaker 2: have a big old finger wag for Paulli Paul Parillo.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Toward the end of last Thursday show, an emailer asked
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: if your takes on winning the last game of the
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: season of change in light of our current sense of
- 1:41:52Speaker 2: the fourth picks value. Mike said he'll wait until after
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: the draft. If we get Hunter. Mike's fine with that.
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: Last win, but if not, then not. Paul loved this
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: praising Mike's Paul likes stubbornness in waiting and holding out
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: like that, but that is total hypocrisy. Paul routinely excoriates
- 1:42:11Speaker 2: people for waiting to develop their takes in hindsight, and
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: now he's praising Mike for angling to do so forsooth.
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: This is not the PP way.
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: Stake your claims now infirmly, as if this were the
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: Oklahoma Land run.
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: Okay, I'll go touch grass. Yeah, I I from myself,
- 1:42:31Speaker 3: I admitted I think Heavan was Evan was on an
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: island to tell he didn't care. And it turns out
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: that you have the fourth pick and a two player draft.
- 1:42:39Speaker 10: I tried to tell you, guys there was a two
- 1:42:40Speaker 10: player draft, and you just you didn't want to believe me.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: I don't believe anything you said.
- 1:42:45Speaker 10: But I actually respect a lot about dude saying he's
- 1:42:49Speaker 10: not wrong until he's wrong.
- 1:42:50Speaker 3: That's what That's what I said.
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: That's it. That's like, hey, we didn't we won a
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: game and we still got the guy we wanted a
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: fourth Overall, it.
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: Could still be the fourth pick and the two player
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: draft if you get one of those two players, You're all.
- 1:43:04Speaker 2: Wrong, Ben and Brooklyn says Vintari has to be the
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: pick for the Patriots Hall of Fame. I wanted to
- 1:43:12Speaker 2: pick up on that call from Dave earlier this week,
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: though it was a great call. Just as they've kicked
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: the can down the road at left tackle, I sort
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: of feel they've done the same thing at wide receiver,
- 1:43:22Speaker 2: sure slight nuanced, and that they've at least drafted wide
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: receivers and maybe not true left tackles, as Paul would
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: say someone who actually played the position, but in the
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: context of Travis Hunter being available, not taking him would
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: certainly be kicking the wide receiver can down the road
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: in a more valuable can at.
- 1:43:39Speaker 10: That there's no chance that I could be proven wrong
- 1:43:43Speaker 10: if he's not on the board. But I will tell
- 1:43:46Speaker 10: you with as much certainty as I can, if Travis
- 1:43:49Speaker 10: Hunter is on the board at four overall, then he
- 1:43:52Speaker 10: is a Patriot. They are not going to pass on
- 1:43:55Speaker 10: Travis Hunter. I can tell you that with certainty that
- 1:44:00Speaker 10: they would not pass on Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter.
- 1:44:03Speaker 10: I don't think as long as you know, I don't
- 1:44:06Speaker 10: know about all this off field stuff that's been coming up,
- 1:44:08Speaker 10: but the player no.
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: Chance, Jack and and Aba after John Hannah, Logan Mankins
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: is by far the greatest guard in the history of
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: the New England Patriots.
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: Greatest offensive lineman.
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: He deserves unequivocally to be in the Patriots Hall of Fame.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: Why do you appreciate the value of the guard position
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: as if a team could be successful without a good guard?
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: Good guard play. The Patriots record over the past three
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: seasons is a tribute to what happens when the team
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: doesn't have a competent offensive line. You said something throwaway
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: line right there.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: I think the second best offensive lineman in team history,
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: that's Bruce Armstrong. Yeah, and that's not just my opinion.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: Julius Adams, he didn't play offensive I mean Leon Gray.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: Yes, he's widely considered to be the third best okay
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: or in the in the conversation you were in the meeting,
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: why why are you getting back? You know that you
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: know that there's people in that meeting that talked about this.
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: I know more than we do.
- 1:45:08Speaker 10: I think you can say his name right.
- 1:45:10Speaker 3: Dante Scott and Ernie Adams both feel that that strongly
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: about Logan Mankins.
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: You need I think you need Ernie and uh and
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: Dante to make the pitch.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: Those are the guys they should be making the case
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: that the pitch for Logan Mankins. Now it was how
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: you say in absentia. He was not there, but he prepared.
- 1:45:31Speaker 3: Not surprisingly, Dante came prepared. He had a full breakout.
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: But the rules are that you can't nominate someone if
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: you're not in the room.
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: So well he did, Hey he did. Did you get
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: the email? But Chris Price nominated him on behalf of Dante,
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: Like the whole thing was right there.
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: I know I saw that. But then Chris Stacey said
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: right after that, you can't nominate somebody if you're not
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: in the room.
- 1:45:55Speaker 3: Okay, well I guess any we read it anyway.
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: But it wasn't considered an official nomination.
- 1:46:01Speaker 3: It was a nomination. Logan Mankins was nominated. He's on
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: the ball.
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: Did you not hear what Stacy said?
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: Is Logan Manks not one of the nominations?
- 1:46:10Speaker 10: Price nominated, but thank you and read this statement.
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:46:14Speaker 10: I'm trying to help, but thank you.
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: He was nominated. Chris Price had to do it for Dante.
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: But like what, the email wouldn't have worked.
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: Someone who had to read the email. No, but he
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: backed it up like if he was the only one
- 1:46:29Speaker 3: in the room that felt said no, okay, So then
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: I didn't hear It's not worth to lie and make
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: it out. Yeah, so it's not what he was nominated.
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: So what are we arguing?
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: I know, but it's not worth this.
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: This isn't even a good one for.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: He literally said, you have to be in the room
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: to nominate and that's why Chris Price had.
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: To do it.
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: This is beneath it even me and you.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: Well, like what does Dante say, like what he's not
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: using PFF stats?
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: I mean what like what is his PFF grade ninety?
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: Guy actually knows his toughness is versatility, his accolades all pros.
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: I saw a punch of guy in the nuts and
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: Denver that that got brought.
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: Up in the meeting to I mean good part of
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: the pitch. Someone said, you know what, you know what
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: a tremendous guy he was off field, you know like
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: at the time maybe he needs an ec your bond
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: when it would you know, he can't disagree.
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: Imagine the difference between what Edelman Gronk induction ceremony would
- 1:47:24Speaker 6: be like him, like Mankins would probably show up in
- 1:47:26Speaker 6: like his dirt covered jeans and have like his.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: His hatt, like he just got off the tractor, Like
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: he just rides the tractor up to.
- 1:47:32Speaker 10: This he would like I hope it would be genuine, right,
- 1:47:36Speaker 10: But I feel like he embodies everything that you want
- 1:47:39Speaker 10: an offensive lineman, like not just his talent, but the
- 1:47:43Speaker 10: snarl and the toughness and the grit that he had
- 1:47:45Speaker 10: to I mean, he was just that's that's a that's
- 1:47:49Speaker 10: exactly what you look about, you know, when you look
- 1:47:51Speaker 10: at prototypes for guards, like Logan Mankins is a prototype.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: And when he had to fill in a tackle, he
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: was competent and shut down.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: Terrell Suggs, Yeah, tie it.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Back to Game of Thrones. He's like a bannerman.
- 1:48:01Speaker 6: You would want Logan Mankins like by your side with
- 1:48:04Speaker 6: his great sword, you know, taking on all comers.
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: With It always comes back to Game of Thrones. Chris
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: with a Tia writes in He says Game of Thrones
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: ending was rushed so disappointing, especially with how good season
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: seven was. Alex is right that fat low George R. R.
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: Martin got rich and became a bigger slob and two
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: best endings in the series, in my opinion, were two
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: six feet under in Sons of Anarchy.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Oh, Sons of Anarchy, I saw all that one. That's
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: a tough show, but I really like that show. I
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: think that show is really well done.
- 1:48:37Speaker 6: Each season was contained, like you talk about having a plan,
- 1:48:41Speaker 6: like I never thought, like Star Wars no plan, Like
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: they didn't know what they were doing when they set
- 1:48:45Speaker 6: out movie one to movie three. But like Sons of Anarchy,
- 1:48:48Speaker 6: each season you felt like you get to the end,
- 1:48:51Speaker 6: I don't know how this is gonna work out. They're
- 1:48:52Speaker 6: on a pickle now, and then somehow it all comes
- 1:48:54Speaker 6: back together in a way that you didn't really expect,
- 1:48:56Speaker 6: and things that you kind of dismissed are important now
- 1:48:59Speaker 6: they at least a few good seasons.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: That and and the.
- 1:49:02Speaker 10: It's a great show. It's a little out it's a
- 1:49:05Speaker 10: little out there, like there's some things, you know, some
- 1:49:07Speaker 10: tough topics that it that it covers, but it's really good.
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: And Jamaica writes in about bad TV endings, he said,
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: my contribution is how I met your mother. With what
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: they did with the Mother and Robin correct can't even
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: rewatch it now feels like they knife me and wasted
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: my time with all the character growth, including Barney.
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: No, that's that's thousand percent true. It's hard to even
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: watch the reruns and enjoy them knowing how it ends. Yeah,
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: that's how bad the ending was.
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: What did it end?
- 1:49:38Speaker 12: Well?
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: I didn't even think I watched it.
- 1:49:40Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: It wasn't.
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: It wasn't Robin.
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: The wife dies, and the wife just dies and then.
- 1:49:46Speaker 3: He finds his mother, you know, is his wife, and
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: they like kill her off and he ends up with Robin.
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Like it was just that's not bad. That's not a cop.
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: Kyle writes in did you guys hear about the dire
- 1:49:57Speaker 2: wolves being brought back in the game The Thrones fan here,
- 1:50:01Speaker 2: the biggest complaint is that they named the female wolf Kalisi,
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: after Danny instead of after a character from how Stark
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: whose symbol is a dire wolf, right.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: Like the ghost.
- 1:50:14Speaker 10: I thought you were talking about the ones in the show,
- 1:50:15Speaker 10: and I was like, which one's name is Khalisi?
- 1:50:22Speaker 2: On one of Paul's shows, they're talking about they brought
- 1:50:24Speaker 2: this dire wolf back from the DNA of a tooth
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: and they're like, I don't like that. You see what
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: happened in Jurassic Park your shows, but.
- 1:50:37Speaker 10: I mean a badasso.
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: I'm an idiot too. What I don't I don't like
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: the whole idea.
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: Of it or bringing back about it. Think about the
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: reason why they died out.
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: And I think about like you screw around too much
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, you're bringing t rexes back,
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: like like, I don't know, have you seen the movie?
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: Have you seen Jurassic Park?
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: It's because it well for Newman and they're like, whoa,
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: there was a bad guy in Jurassic Park. That's and
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: they're trying to like it wasn't real.
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: I know it was a movie, but like this, I
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: just Jeff Goldblum's whole point. It's like, you know, life
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: finds away, so school.
- 1:51:16Speaker 10: They keep on remaking Jurassic Park. Like you would think
- 1:51:19Speaker 10: they would have learned their lessons.
- 1:51:21Speaker 15: They keep making everything. No one has any more original
- 1:51:24Speaker 15: ideas that they want to invest money into. They just
- 1:51:27Speaker 15: want to remake everything we've already had.
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: So yeah, you think about like a thousand years in
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: the future and we keep doing this kind of stuff,
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: and now we're actually creating life on other planets. You know,
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: we're changing atmospheres and we're actually putting life on other planets,
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: and you think, well, maybe that's how we got here.
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: You know, maybe somebody did that.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: Wow, that's deep philosophical here.
- 1:51:51Speaker 3: I don't think they did. Just watching us from.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: Everything is just one big circle and it just keeps
- 1:51:56Speaker 2: happening over.
- 1:51:56Speaker 15: And coming back because they see us a little out
- 1:52:00Speaker 15: of hand down here. So all of a sudden, UFOs
- 1:52:03Speaker 15: are real life, get into some quantum physics.
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: David says best ending was New Heart, no doubt about it.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: I liked that ending. Fred didn't. I thought there was
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: a cop out.
- 1:52:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought so, Oh it's all a dream. Yeah,
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: I thought it was very clever and very funny.
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: I don't think it was a big hit.
- 1:52:25Speaker 3: I think you're right now because I think a lot
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: of people have gone to that crutch dreams. You know,
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: I know how well we don't. We don't have any
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: idea what we're doing. All it was just a dream.
- 1:52:35Speaker 6: Cheers was a pretty famous one where where Sam saying
- 1:52:38Speaker 6: goodbye to the bar, and I don't know, it was
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: strange to have an emotional connection to a sitcom that
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: it meant a lot.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: I mean, it was obviously hugely popular show. But then
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: they ended it kind of.
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: Yeah. I thought it wasn't terrible, but I didn't love it.
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: I mean, it was ironic, but it was it was.
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: But you see what happened. They ended up the same thing.
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: I know, they copied the ending and you know, unabashedly.
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: I don't know if you understood, but you know, like
- 1:53:05Speaker 3: the whole thing with the but that was like one
- 1:53:08Speaker 3: of their.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: Episode season one stand up, he didn't you get.
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: I don't particularly like Erry. I thought it was like
- 1:53:21Speaker 3: the worst part of the show. Bob Doyle was Bob
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: Doyle gets passionately like set with me. He likes he
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: likes Seinfeld. You do too, I think I love Feld.
- 1:53:33Speaker 2: Real stand up. I saw Seinfeld before the show. I
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: saw him at the Paradise and.
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: It all gets back to what Fred did is as
- 1:53:41Speaker 3: a youth.
- 1:53:43Speaker 2: I remember Seinfeld's appearances on The Johnny Carson Show.
- 1:53:47Speaker 12: I was.
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: I was a big fan before Seinfeld.
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: I loved I loved the show. I still watch a
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: lot of reruns of it. But the ending wasn't great.
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I agree, it wasn't that great.
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: It wasn't terrible. I mean, like bringing back the characters.
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: That was kind of funny, I thought.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: I think off air, we talked about the ending to
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: Breaking Bad, which I thought I thought it was a
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: good ending. A lot of people didn't was as good
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: as it be. I think, yeah, it was a tough
- 1:54:10Speaker 2: show to end like that. A lot of people thought
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: the show should have ended two episodes early.
- 1:54:15Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, I could see that.
- 1:54:17Speaker 15: Yeah, Like we said off there, people get so emotionally
- 1:54:20Speaker 15: invested in these shows. That's like, what is going to
- 1:54:22Speaker 15: make you happy?
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: You know you do?
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: I think that some of that was Seinfeld, like it
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: was such a good show, so popular, how do you
- 1:54:29Speaker 3: wrap it up? And then like Friends was another really
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: popular show, and they went like the cop out like
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: happy ending, and everybody was annoyed with that too, because
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: that wasn't a great ending. It gets hard. It's hard
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: when you have shows like that to strike a perfect balance.
- 1:54:46Speaker 2: So Chad says, it's a lie that the wolves are
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: genetically derived from extinct animals. They are genetically modified to
- 1:54:53Speaker 2: look like the ancestors. Fake news.
- 1:54:56Speaker 10: That's even I feel like that's even scarier. So they're like,
- 1:54:59Speaker 10: they're test tube wolves and we want that.
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: How do you not name Atlas something from the Game
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: of Thrones, the dire Wolves.
- 1:55:08Speaker 10: Well, Atlae we you know big dog, so like Atlas,
- 1:55:12Speaker 10: you know, big strong world. Yeah, that's where he came
- 1:55:16Speaker 10: up with that. Plus we also wanted to go a map.
- 1:55:19Speaker 10: We want to go in alphabetical order.
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: How many dogs you get?
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: There's a couple of calls on the line there, Fred,
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: we're running out.
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: Of Okay, let's let's get to the I'm too busy
- 1:55:29Speaker 2: with the Sorry about that. Derek's in South Carolina. What's up, Derek, Derek,
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: He's not there. He's been hanging on for over an hour.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: I forget it.
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: Sorry, Let's go to Paul Paul in California.
- 1:55:44Speaker 3: Paul Hey, Hey, yeah, yeah, Fred.
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: Pine caller but long time listener. So I'm I apologie
- 1:55:53Speaker 4: ahead of time if it has been at or talked
- 1:55:56Speaker 4: about before. So I have two questions. So, if you
- 1:56:00Speaker 4: England it's a trade down in this draft, which team
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: would you want them to trade for the big and
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: which player do you think they would pick on that
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: trade down? And the second question is, if this is
- 1:56:17Speaker 4: too early to ask for this coming season, which season
- 1:56:24Speaker 4: record do you want the team to finish in the
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: top ten, top fifteen, or make it to the wild
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: wild card.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: Okay, So the first part, I don't care who they
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: trade with trade down?
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, but would you want to trade you know,
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: a long way.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: I was going to say the higher the better, obviously.
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: Yeah, stay in the top ten.
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't care which you know? Oh sorry? And
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: then in terms of who they pick who they get
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: after they trade down, I mean, tell me who's still available.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: I don't know, uh is uh does?
- 1:57:03Speaker 6: And does the Raiders at six or I know the
- 1:57:07Speaker 6: Saints another team but they want to come up and
- 1:57:09Speaker 6: try to get him. I don't want to move out
- 1:57:11Speaker 6: of the top ten, but I still think you could
- 1:57:13Speaker 6: get a Will Campbell a Membo.
- 1:57:16Speaker 10: Guys, the Saints at nine feel like an interesting spot.
- 1:57:20Speaker 10: I know some of the you know. Nick Underhill does
- 1:57:22Speaker 10: a really good job covering them. Says that at least
- 1:57:24Speaker 10: right now, like the temperature is that they would not
- 1:57:27Speaker 10: make a move up for Sanders if he had to guess,
- 1:57:30Speaker 10: but that that one feels like the most likely you know,
- 1:57:33Speaker 10: team that really needs a quarterback is within shouting distance
- 1:57:37Speaker 10: of getting up, you know, high enough to take take
- 1:57:40Speaker 10: Shador before everybody else.
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: Do you want to stand the second part His second question.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: How you want the papers to finish wins.
- 1:57:48Speaker 10: I want to win the Super Bowl?
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: Was it a neither or though?
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: Like, yeah, I think that we because he was kind
- 1:57:56Speaker 3: of going in and out, so I'm not sure that
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: maybe we missed some nuance.
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: To Plus, they're like bringing in dirt for the Monster mash.
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: Bring it out. They put the dirt back in dirt,
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: just moving that dirt. Two weeks of like dirt and
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: dirt out.
- 1:58:13Speaker 15: Evans like, are you sick?
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I get ahead of it the last week.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: I should have done that. Are you sick?
- 1:58:25Speaker 2: If I get behind in my alley, I forget it.
