- Election Day in America. And the Supreme Court just told the President no. This is The Gospel Briefing. I'm Charles King. This morning, the Supreme Court rejected President Trump's emergency request to toss California ballots from twenty thousand people the administration alleges are noncitizens. The ruling came down Monday. The ballots stay in the count. Here's what matters. The Court did not rule on whether those voters are, in fact, citizens. It declined to intervene on the eve of the election. A narrow procedural decision with enormous practical weight — because today is the midterms. Both sides will spin this. One camp will call it a win for voting rights. The other, a loss for election integrity. Both reactions assume the Supreme Court is the final word. It isn't. Proverbs twenty-one, verse fifteen says, "When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers." Notice what the verse does not say. It does not promise justice by Monday morning. Human courts are real, necessary, and limited. God sees the ballots the Court didn't examine. God sees the ones it did. Keep Proverbs twenty-one open in Bible Copilot and sit with that today. In South Florida, investigators now believe a business jet began breaking apart in the air before slamming into the ground Sunday afternoon near West Palm Beach. Nine people died. Two crew. Seven passengers. The Bahamas-bound Learjet took off from Austin, hit icing and severe turbulence at thirty-five thousand feet. The pilot's final transmission: "We're going to crash into the ground." One of the pilots was twenty years old. She earned her license at seventeen. The NTSB is still recovering wreckage from a crater in the roadway. Nearly eighty mobile homes were evacuated. Residents are in a shelter, waiting to go home. Psalm thirty-four, verse eighteen says the Lord is near to the brokenhearted. Pray today for nine families getting the worst phone call of their lives. Second development. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy warned Monday that Russia is preparing what he called a "massive attack" on Ukraine's energy grid and supply lines — timed, he says, to today's U.S. midterms, when American attention is turned inward. Hours before his warning, a Russian strike on a school distributing humanitarian aid in southeastern Ukraine killed at least twenty-six people, including police and first responders. The timing is cynical. It assumes a watching world is a distracted world. Pray for Ukrainian families facing freezing temperatures without power tonight. Pray for wisdom today before you repeat what you have heard. This episode is presented by Bible Copilot. Today's verse is Isaiah twenty-six, verse four. Open Bible Copilot and study the Verse of the Day first. You'll get a guided walk-through — what the passage says, what it means, what it reveals about God, and how to apply it. Isaiah twenty-six, verse four: "Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock." The Court ruled. The plane fell. The missiles are coming. None of those are the rock. One of them is. Thanks for listening to The Gospel Briefing. Go vote if that's your conviction. Pray either way. And remember — the kingdom that matters most was never on today's ballot. We'll see you tomorrow.
