- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to We Talk Back Podcast, the production of iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and the Black Effect Network.
- 0:08Speaker 2: So we're just two unapologetically black women with an opinion
- 0:13Speaker 2: who talks.
- 0:17Speaker 1: What's up, y'all? Thank you for tuning in for a
- 0:19Speaker 1: new episode of We Talked Back, a show dedicated to
- 0:22Speaker 1: you dreamers and chasers. Y is your co host a
- 0:29Speaker 1: j Holiday. What's up? Tam Bam?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Y'all is Tam Bam? I love y'all, girl. They nothing
- 0:45Speaker 2: I didn't. How was your weekend? What did you do?
- 0:47Speaker 1: Nothing? It's cold outside, Like I really am emriminating this weekend.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I had the bed to myself mm hmm, me and
- 0:56Speaker 1: a cat, So yeah, I really enjoyed that. You know.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's the small things, right, like having space to yourself,
- 1:06Speaker 1: the small things.
- 1:09Speaker 2: What did I do? It was a Washington weekend for me?
- 1:13Speaker 2: What so a Washington weekend?
- 1:16Speaker 1: Does that mean?
- 1:18Speaker 2: I went to see Gladiator with Denzel Washington and then
- 1:21Speaker 2: I also watched the Piano Lesson with John David Washington
- 1:26Speaker 2: produced by Malcolm Washington. So it was definitely a Washington week.
- 1:31Speaker 1: In Washington weekend. Interesting. How was Gladiator? I can't wait
- 1:35Speaker 1: to see it, but I want to see it in
- 1:37Speaker 1: the house. I want to watch it.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I would always rather watch a movie in the house.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's just the comfort of free drugs and alcohol that
- 1:46Speaker 2: just makes it better. When I say drugs, I mean
- 1:51Speaker 2: we y'all. Let me be let me be very clear, right.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Gladiator was good. I enjoyed the movie. I don't I
- 2:00Speaker 2: can't say too much without giving it away. I enjoyed
- 2:03Speaker 2: the storyline how so much. It was connected to the
- 2:07Speaker 2: storyline from two thousand with Russell Crowe.
- 2:09Speaker 1: So he's not what.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I guess he died.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, he died in the last one. Yeah, so that's
- 2:21Speaker 1: why he wasn't there.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Well, I mean they have ghosts and all kinds of
- 2:25Speaker 2: ship like there was a way to throw that nigga
- 2:28Speaker 2: in there that they really wanted to.
- 2:29Speaker 1: They did not.
- 2:31Speaker 2: But Denzel was excellent in it. You know, he's just
- 2:35Speaker 2: such a phenomenal.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It looks like just from the like the pictures we saw,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I knew it was going to be lit and I love, love,
- 2:41Speaker 1: love Gladiator.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna enjoy it. And then also the piano
- 2:48Speaker 2: lesson that was good. It's a play adapted to a movie.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Some people don't like plays when they're adapted to movies
- 2:55Speaker 2: because there isn't a whole lot of movement. You know,
- 2:58Speaker 2: a play is usually on a set. I mean, you're
- 3:01Speaker 2: not gonna get a lot of movement, and people get
- 3:03Speaker 2: it can be a bit mundane if you're not into
- 3:06Speaker 2: a bunch of monologues, which is what happens in a
- 3:10Speaker 2: play adapted to the movie. But it was good story.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It's an August Wilson play. I don't know if you'll
- 3:16Speaker 2: familiar with August Wilson Fences. His dad did that one
- 3:21Speaker 2: with Viola Davis. Yeah, yeah, yeah, So that came out
- 3:24Speaker 2: like a couple of Christmases ago. That was a good one.
- 3:27Speaker 2: But I think this story, this plot was much better
- 3:31Speaker 2: than No Shade Defenses. But I think the way this show,
- 3:34Speaker 2: this movie was presented was through a very youthful lens,
- 3:39Speaker 2: Malcolm Washington. He's a young dude, so the way he
- 3:42Speaker 2: presented it was youthful. And it's got like a horror
- 3:45Speaker 2: element to it. So if you like scary stuff, I mean,
- 3:49Speaker 2: it's not hugely horrific. It's more a tale of like
- 3:54Speaker 2: family and our trials and our woes and how trauma
- 3:58Speaker 2: can be passed down. And this piano represents a lot
- 4:02Speaker 2: of that. So it's a good story, y'all. It's on Netflix.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Watch it if you got some time. The piano lesson,
- 4:10Speaker 2: piano lesson interesting.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Can I learn something in there?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean yeah, you might learn something something about resiliency,
- 4:22Speaker 2: something about family and being one and sticking together, you know.
- 4:27Speaker 2: So definitely watch it with your family, especially if y'all
- 4:31Speaker 2: not getting along, sit down and hold hands and watch
- 4:34Speaker 2: that movie.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'd be getting along because I don't be talking to
- 4:37Speaker 1: nobody can get along with my God damn matter of fact, No,
- 4:42Speaker 1: my sister didn't did call me. One of my sisters
- 4:44Speaker 1: called me this morning. It seemed like every time we
- 4:46Speaker 1: talk is like, I don't be knowing as a problem
- 4:49Speaker 1: until she says something not between me and her, not
- 4:52Speaker 1: between me and her, but h just with other people
- 4:57Speaker 1: because I be in my little like, yeah, listen, let
- 5:02Speaker 1: me tell y'all one thing you will realize, man, Like,
- 5:08Speaker 1: there's a real there's a lot of power and detachment.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And I'm not just saying like to leave people or not,
- 5:14Speaker 1: but you got to meet people where he at and
- 5:17Speaker 1: understand who they are and you can't have emotions attached
- 5:21Speaker 1: to that shit. And that's just where I'm at I
- 5:24Speaker 1: practice detachment along with a lot of other things, but
- 5:28Speaker 1: I definitely practice detachment a lot.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Me and my family. I was just I was on
- 5:35Speaker 2: the phone with one of my friends last night and
- 5:37Speaker 2: he was talking about his family dynamic, and y'all, it
- 5:41Speaker 2: was a mess. He got a lot, and it's a
- 5:43Speaker 2: lot about money, you know, him being a magor breadwinner
- 5:46Speaker 2: in a family and trying to help people as much
- 5:48Speaker 2: as he can, but it never being good enough, and
- 5:50Speaker 2: people like looking at him like do more, do more,
- 5:54Speaker 2: and it's just only so much.
- 5:55Speaker 1: They want you back where they're comfortable with you being at.
- 6:00Speaker 1: You know, they want you back on their level. I
- 6:02Speaker 1: never understand that, so you know how people would be
- 6:04Speaker 1: like the money change them? No, I think the money
- 6:06Speaker 1: changes the people around you a lot of times, you know.
- 6:11Speaker 2: And it just made me have so much gratitude for
- 6:16Speaker 2: the space I am in with my family right now,
- 6:18Speaker 2: because I mean, my childhood was tumultuous, Like you know,
- 6:22Speaker 2: it was not an easy time. It was hard, but
- 6:24Speaker 2: now we just kind of like smooth sailing, everybody getting along.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Were very close knit. So I'm grateful for that. But
- 6:33Speaker 2: there once was a time, you know, so.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think my family does. We do pretty good,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and you know, it's just I don't know, y'all. We
- 6:41Speaker 1: got communication issues in my family. We can't always have
- 6:48Speaker 1: conversations about stuff. And I won't even say it's just
- 6:50Speaker 1: meat like between me and my sisters, because I feel
- 6:52Speaker 1: like I can talk to them about just about anything.
- 6:54Speaker 1: But I think equally we all would feel like we
- 6:58Speaker 1: probably can't talk to our mom about shit out of
- 7:01Speaker 1: being like a big problem argument, you know. So I
- 7:04Speaker 1: would like for us to work on communication better. I
- 7:08Speaker 1: remember I saw this video on Instagram and it was saying,
- 7:11Speaker 1: how you know children are your karma karma right and
- 7:16Speaker 1: his child or depending on the zodiac, they come to
- 7:19Speaker 1: teach the parent a lesson. Some people don't see it
- 7:22Speaker 1: that way, right, because I feel like we choose our parents,
- 7:25Speaker 1: they don't choose us. So based on my zodiac, I'm
- 7:29Speaker 1: supposed to teach my mom communication, but it's hard. It's
- 7:35Speaker 1: hard when the adult I won't say the adult because
- 7:40Speaker 1: we all adults, right, but I'm the child right when
- 7:43Speaker 1: the parent doesn't feel like they can learn anything from
- 7:47Speaker 1: the child.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And I mean, what kind of.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Be learning your whole life? Like I feel like you're
- 7:54Speaker 1: never too old to learn anything.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, you're always learning. Once you stop learning and you
- 8:00Speaker 2: start dying, that's how I feel, like.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, like I still learning and growing, yes, because that's
- 8:07Speaker 1: Earth is a school. So you are here to learn lessons,
- 8:10Speaker 1: right and if you don't learn them, you keep coming
- 8:12Speaker 1: back until you do it again. Until you do, you're
- 8:15Speaker 1: gonna come back with them same transgressions, that same depression,
- 8:19Speaker 1: the same issues, until you learn the lessons. Yeah, that's it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: That's it, is what it is.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Let's get it and see.
- 8:33Speaker 1: What happened. Anyway, y'all, Thanksgiving is coming up.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yeamn.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah. But anyway, so y'all Friday, Kendrick Lamar drop the
- 8:49Speaker 1: album on you niggas. I was at the gym. Yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I had got a text message that said Kendrick dropping
- 8:55Speaker 1: an album at in a couple of minutes at twelve o'clock.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I immediately then went to Apple and the ship was already there,
- 9:03Speaker 1: already up.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yep, Yes, I'm the album. I mean, he's brilliant. He's brilliant,
- 9:07Speaker 2: and he's lyrical. It's a good album. It's definitely got
- 9:11Speaker 2: some songs that make you feel boastful, you know, like
- 9:16Speaker 2: popular ship, you know, and I love energy like that,
- 9:19Speaker 2: especially in the gym. So I definitely enjoyed an album.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You know, I usually don't like like California rap, but
- 9:26Speaker 1: I like when Kendrick do it. You know that sound
- 9:28Speaker 1: I'm talking about that.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like the first two songs that went straight
- 9:33Speaker 2: to Cali vibes. When he said squabble listen, I sent
- 9:37Speaker 2: one of my old niggas from LA right the Future
- 9:41Speaker 2: the Future, texting the X. You know that picture where
- 9:44Speaker 2: he texted me, Yeah, I was listening to Kendrick squabble up.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I remember when we used the horizontal squabble. I was
- 10:00Speaker 2: just fucking around there. I don't I'm not really missing
- 10:03Speaker 2: no space. Yeah no, I don't miss nobody, but it
- 10:06Speaker 2: was just funny.
- 10:07Speaker 1: I was. I'm so happy when like good music dropped
- 10:10Speaker 1: because there's a lot of trash out there, man, so
- 10:12Speaker 1: when somebody drops some real life luxury music, I'm always
- 10:17Speaker 1: to it. Yes, so it says the project. They said.
- 10:20Speaker 1: The project seemingly dropped out of the sky without warning
- 10:23Speaker 1: around twelve pm Eastern Standard Time on Friday. Filled with
- 10:28Speaker 1: twelve tracks, g n X boast a pair of assist
- 10:32Speaker 1: from former TD running mate Damn Sis ain't with td
- 10:37Speaker 1: No more Interesting Sam Do, as well as emerging artists
- 10:43Speaker 1: such as Deira Dera, Bia Bireau, Dera, Ink, Dotty six,
- 10:52Speaker 1: as Check and more A girl Child Listen.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Y'all got some names on y'all got damn.
- 11:00Speaker 1: It says, with the super Bowl on the horizon, Kado
- 11:02Speaker 1: will have new music with him when he leads excuse
- 11:06Speaker 1: me when he heads the New Orleans, when he has
- 11:08Speaker 1: the new when he heads to New Orleans to take
- 11:13Speaker 1: the super Bowl. Whatever numberus is? What the fuck is
- 11:17Speaker 1: l in numerica? What what? What?
- 11:21Speaker 2: It don't matter? Halftime again?
- 11:24Speaker 1: So I can't wait. I cannot wait for the super Bowl.
- 11:26Speaker 1: And he did have like a low line and one
- 11:28Speaker 1: of the songs, whacked Murals, which is the first song
- 11:33Speaker 1: on the album, and people saying he'd taken shots at
- 11:36Speaker 1: low Wayne and snoop. I don't really feel like he's
- 11:39Speaker 1: taking shots. He just just said something. He was like,
- 11:42Speaker 1: he said, I used to bump the Carter three. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: held my roly chain, proud the irony. I think my
- 11:49Speaker 1: hard work let low Wayne down. Kadot wraps on album
- 11:52Speaker 1: opener and Whacked Out Murals, referring to wheezy posts and
- 11:56Speaker 1: a video about how hurt he was about not being
- 11:59Speaker 1: chosen to headline in Super Bowl in his hometown. I
- 12:03Speaker 1: mean it could have been like a situation where Kendrick
- 12:05Speaker 1: would have brought him out or something like that. Now
- 12:07Speaker 1: y'all just thought, y'all made this shit so fucking awkward,
- 12:10Speaker 1: Like it's the people. Kendrick Lamar is a performer. Have
- 12:13Speaker 1: y'all ever seen him perform at like the Grammys and
- 12:16Speaker 1: stuff like that, Like that nigga should be lit.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Okay, I don't think. I don't feel like Kendrick Lamar
- 12:25Speaker 2: took a shot at Wayne. I don't think Wayne took
- 12:27Speaker 2: a shot at Kendrew Lamar. I don't think neither one
- 12:30Speaker 2: of them shot at each other. I think it's the
- 12:31Speaker 2: people who are saying, oh, this is a shot to
- 12:34Speaker 2: that person, and this is a shot to that person. No,
- 12:36Speaker 2: I don't. I don't believe that he said I let
- 12:40Speaker 2: Lil Wayne down. You know, he didn't say, like fuck
- 12:42Speaker 2: little Wayne.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Now he said, I guess I let him down because
- 12:45Speaker 1: he ain't congratulate me either, because he goes on to
- 12:47Speaker 1: say won the Super Bowl and Nad's the only one
- 12:49Speaker 1: who can who congratulate me. All these niggas weren't agitated.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I'm just glad they show on their faces.
- 12:57Speaker 2: But why, I don't understand why he looking for congratulations
- 13:01Speaker 2: from people that he don't talk to. You know, do
- 13:04Speaker 2: the people who love you congratulate you. That's who you
- 13:06Speaker 2: should be looking for.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Me. They're all peers, so they probably do have some
- 13:11Speaker 1: type of relationship. No, Kendrick Lamar one of the biggest people.
- 13:17Speaker 2: How often do they call each other?
- 13:19Speaker 1: You know?
- 13:20Speaker 2: I don't. Maybe they do have a maybe they do talk.
- 13:22Speaker 2: But I just be feeling like you should only expect
- 13:26Speaker 2: because you'll be let down every time if you're waiting
- 13:28Speaker 2: on people who you don't talk to to congratulate you
- 13:30Speaker 2: on some shit.
- 13:31Speaker 1: About them not even talking, just them being in the
- 13:34Speaker 1: same arena right as far as their careers. And this
- 13:38Speaker 1: is a this is a big milestone for Kendrick Lamar.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I feel like everybody should have been a little bit more,
- 13:44Speaker 1: had a little bit more. What is the word I'm
- 13:48Speaker 1: looking for? Congratulatory? Is that a word? Yeah? Like they
- 13:53Speaker 1: should have congratulated him more. So I feel him on
- 13:55Speaker 1: that shit because if you don't say nothing like I nigga,
- 13:59Speaker 1: you hating y'all have all the negative ship him a
- 14:03Speaker 1: Nigi Minaj just talking shit, Wayne, Nicki Minaj was talking ship,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you know, Drake, he don't even want to say Kendrick
- 14:10Speaker 1: martinin no more, okay, but they all they this is
- 14:15Speaker 1: not the first time.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Heavy is
- 14:18Speaker 2: the head that wears the crown. Right now, You're on top,
- 14:20Speaker 2: you know. But that's why I just say, don't did
- 14:25Speaker 2: when when good things were happen have been happening, especially
- 14:28Speaker 2: for us with this podcast, where people that you were
- 14:31Speaker 2: expecting to hear from something something from that you just
- 14:34Speaker 2: did not know.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I don't care everybody. You I don't be caring them.
- 14:38Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. You shouldn't care. You shouldn't care.
- 14:41Speaker 2: The people who love you will be there and the
- 14:43Speaker 2: people who who don't just won't. And that's okay. Like
- 14:46Speaker 2: I don't like it's given very sensitive, like you know,
- 14:50Speaker 2: which is okay. You know, it's okay to be sensitive
- 14:53Speaker 2: and want people to support you, but you just don't
- 14:57Speaker 2: want to do it from Yeah, you just ain't gonna
- 14:59Speaker 2: get it from it everybody. And it seems that little
- 15:02Speaker 2: way Lil Wayne has his feelings about not being included
- 15:07Speaker 2: and how you it's hard to expect support from somebody
- 15:12Speaker 2: who want what you got.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I seen the video. I guess it's a recent concert
- 15:18Speaker 1: that Lil Wayne did and it was fucking gibberish. We're
- 15:21Speaker 1: gonna do that at the super Bowl? Like he needs
- 15:24Speaker 1: to clean himself up first. I do think that Little
- 15:28Speaker 1: Wayne could definitely carry a super Bowl like he got
- 15:30Speaker 1: all of but he has to be able to perform
- 15:34Speaker 1: him and I just don't think he is the same
- 15:38Speaker 1: little Wayne that we remember.
- 15:39Speaker 2: And I definitely don't want to hear all of his
- 15:41Speaker 2: in a rock and roll version. That shit pisso that.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Might even be lit if it's like, you know, organized
- 15:46Speaker 1: properly for a super Bowl, you know what I'm saying.
- 15:49Speaker 1: He could have the guitars and all that shit going on,
- 15:51Speaker 1: the fire flames coming up, all that shit, but it
- 15:54Speaker 1: got to be done nicely, you know what I'm saying. Child. Anyway,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'm happy for the new album, and I heard he
- 16:02Speaker 1: might be dropping some other shit, but we'll see, we'll see,
- 16:05Speaker 1: we'll see. We assume this is an album, right.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Yeah, And as for like, I just like want to
- 16:11Speaker 2: little say a little something about Drake because they're saying
- 16:14Speaker 2: Drake took a shot at Kendrake by saying facts can
- 16:20Speaker 2: kill me, not fairy tales. What y'all want that man
- 16:23Speaker 2: to do? What y'all want him to, like, just crumble
- 16:25Speaker 2: and die. Y'all was so hard on Drake, especially some
- 16:29Speaker 2: of y'all who used to be fans. I know, some
- 16:31Speaker 2: of y'all who'll be talking bad about him, got pictures
- 16:33Speaker 2: with him, you know, and now now you hate his guts?
- 16:36Speaker 2: Come on, now, is it really that deep? I think
- 16:40Speaker 2: people like be too invested in a rap battle. It's
- 16:46Speaker 2: rap Relax.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't talk about when it's relevant, Like I
- 16:50Speaker 1: really am not, Like I don't know. I never was
- 16:54Speaker 1: a super Drake fan. Like if y'all been following this
- 16:57Speaker 1: podcast first, I was saying, how Drake is the motherfucking
- 17:03Speaker 1: white man that infiltraded hip hop and I'm a stand
- 17:05Speaker 1: by that. Okay, y'all be talking about Eminem and whoever
- 17:08Speaker 1: else that dude, that dude, man, I see I see Drake,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I see him.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I was a fan then, I'm still a fan now.
- 17:17Speaker 2: He gave us hits after hits, summer after summer. I
- 17:20Speaker 2: know a lot of us, even people who didn't like
- 17:22Speaker 2: him dance tom right with me. You was at a
- 17:25Speaker 2: Drake concert with me, as a matter of.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Sure it was. And I saw you not know half
- 17:29Speaker 1: his songs?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Fan, No I did. I did know his songs.
- 17:33Speaker 1: No bit, you was like, am I right? I was like,
- 17:35Speaker 1: am I really a fan? Because I don't know none
- 17:37Speaker 1: of these fucking lyrics.
- 17:39Speaker 2: It was like three songs I didn't know, but I
- 17:42Speaker 2: knew a lot.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Was like repeating that shit word for word. It's real fans.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Whatever, bit, I am a real fan. I don't know
- 17:51Speaker 2: anybody rap songs word for word. I'm a grown ass woman.
- 17:55Speaker 2: So but that don't make me not a fan. I
- 17:59Speaker 2: am and I and I'm not a bandwagoner. I'm loyal
- 18:02Speaker 2: to people even when they down. I don't flip. So
- 18:06Speaker 2: there's that. But I do love Kendrick Lamar as well.
- 18:08Speaker 2: And two things can be true at the same time.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I don't have to pick a side, and I didn't,
- 18:12Speaker 2: I never did, and I ain't. I want both of
- 18:15Speaker 2: them to be successful. So next sying what you want
- 18:22Speaker 2: to say, bitch saying you was.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Wasn't that sin? That's all I'm saying is put your
- 18:28Speaker 1: mouth from the damn mic a little bit. You sound
- 18:31Speaker 1: like you're eating it the hell.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Hally Berry talks about wanting to be recognized for things
- 18:39Speaker 2: other than her beauty. So a video came out this
- 18:43Speaker 2: weekend Oscar When They're Holly Berry has opened up about
- 18:47Speaker 2: aging in Hollywood. The Never Let Go actress talked candidly
- 18:51Speaker 2: about what it feels like to age as a woman,
- 18:53Speaker 2: especially under intense media scrutiny, and she says, and I quote,
- 18:57Speaker 2: I have longed for someone to say something to me
- 19:00Speaker 2: other than oh gosh, you're so pretty. I long to
- 19:03Speaker 2: hear other words, she told News Not Noise founder Jessica
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yelling during the interview. The interview took place at the
- 19:09Speaker 2: Fortune Most Powerful Women, Some Men in October, but has
- 19:12Speaker 2: since been released online. Holly says it's a shame that
- 19:15Speaker 2: women are told that they have to stay forever thirty.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I know I'm more than this, So I've aged. I've
- 19:20Speaker 2: been determined to age gracefully. And naturally we're born to
- 19:24Speaker 2: age and die, but somehow, as a woman we have
- 19:26Speaker 2: to be do the unthinkable. We have to figure out
- 19:28Speaker 2: a way to do it, and unfortunately we're turning ourselves
- 19:31Speaker 2: into monsters trying to do that.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I cannot agree more. And I don't know if she
- 19:35Speaker 1: men monstertily figuratively or physically, but both of them shit
- 19:41Speaker 1: is valid. Okay, I agree, And I think women are
- 19:45Speaker 1: actually even harder on women about about how they look.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I see people comments online.
- 19:53Speaker 1: A lot of times it's women saying crazy things like girl,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you know you ain't gonna be young forever, right, And
- 19:58Speaker 1: a lot of these you're thirty forty fifth year olds
- 20:00Speaker 1: looking to fuck good. I mean I don't even put
- 20:02Speaker 1: thirties in that because I mean that's yeah, it's very young.
- 20:05Speaker 1: So forty fifty sixty year old bitches on Instagram look
- 20:09Speaker 1: very good.
- 20:11Speaker 2: And right and healthy. Yeah, so it is a lot.
- 20:15Speaker 2: But I think the world there is like such a
- 20:18Speaker 2: pressure from the world on women on the aesthetic, Yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 2: on our aesthetic, Like we're just pressured to be beautiful
- 20:27Speaker 2: and young forever, and it's just so hard to Like
- 20:31Speaker 2: you are fighting a battle that you will never win.
- 20:34Speaker 2: That's why you know you can't win. You can't be
- 20:36Speaker 2: father time. There is no way to do it.
- 20:40Speaker 1: You can you can delay it a little bit, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 1: with diet. And last week we talked about skincare, you know,
- 20:46Speaker 1: taking care of you, taking care of yourself from the
- 20:48Speaker 1: inside out. You can definitely definitely delay it a little bit.
- 20:52Speaker 1: But we all have an expiration expiration day. Yeah, but
- 20:56Speaker 1: you don't have to look like you're expiring. Okay, that's
- 20:59Speaker 1: what you said. Answer, she's trying to do it naturally.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I'm with that. And you're saying people do so much
- 21:05Speaker 1: to their faces nowadays, like they don't even look like
- 21:07Speaker 1: themselves anymore. Like that's not you, right, And guess what,
- 21:10Speaker 1: your kids gonna still have your DNA, so you can't.
- 21:13Speaker 2: They're gonna come out with your old face.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You can't do what the healthcare credit care credit. You
- 21:19Speaker 1: can't do credit care credit on your DNA.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Right, And then, I mean, it's a lot of stuff
- 21:27Speaker 2: out there that's just fucking what our mental even the filters,
- 21:29Speaker 2: you know, the filters. You I remember like being very
- 21:33Speaker 2: extremely happy with my face. I mean, I still like
- 21:36Speaker 2: my face. I still think I'm a beautiful woman, but
- 21:38Speaker 2: I will filter, you know. I'm like, oh, that filter
- 21:41Speaker 2: got me looking extra cute, and I was extra cute
- 21:44Speaker 2: before the few filter, you know. So I think it's
- 21:47Speaker 2: a lot of things that subconsciously affect these things, and
- 21:51Speaker 2: it's having it to women younger and younger. You got
- 21:54Speaker 2: girls in their twenties getting fillers, getting botox and all
- 21:59Speaker 2: this stuff. Girl, you're you barely you still got good
- 22:02Speaker 2: collagen in your face. Why are you even doing that?
- 22:05Speaker 2: It's too soon, and I'm concerned with how it will
- 22:07Speaker 2: affect them when they are old.
- 22:09Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I I really, you know, I am
- 22:14Speaker 1: considering going back to Android because I do think that
- 22:18Speaker 1: Apple be fucking with our perception. Bitch, I look way
- 22:21Speaker 1: better on an Android phone, Like I really, I really
- 22:25Speaker 1: feel like Apple be intentionally making you look fucked up
- 22:28Speaker 1: so you could use the filter, so you could feel
- 22:30Speaker 1: some type of fucking way. I really feel like they
- 22:33Speaker 1: be fucking our perception because when I look on the
- 22:35Speaker 1: Android phone and I look in the mirror, I'm like, okay,
- 22:37Speaker 1: this match, bitch, Apple, how your ass looking a fucking mess?
- 22:41Speaker 1: Like why is this happening? Like who is that? Like
- 22:46Speaker 1: that is not my hand?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Wouldn't my hair? Get that point?
- 22:51Speaker 1: I feel like they're doing something with the camera. I
- 22:53Speaker 1: swear to god, you don't feel like that when the
- 22:56Speaker 1: last time you had an Android.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I've never had a I don't know I don't have
- 23:01Speaker 2: an Android, So.
- 23:03Speaker 1: None of your friends got an Android? Like, damn that
- 23:05Speaker 1: camera good as hell, like in a group chat, a
- 23:06Speaker 1: group picture.
- 23:07Speaker 2: No, I don't be fucking with bitches with androids.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Girl bye. First of all, I'm joking.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I'm joking. I'm joking, joking.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Apple put the same phone out and be charging people
- 23:19Speaker 1: with the same all this fucking money. Android technology is
- 23:23Speaker 1: actually better and Android phones actually cost more than Apple phones.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I don't know if people realize that or not, but
- 23:29Speaker 1: they cost well way more than an Apple phone.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Okay, it's just marketing, that's all it is.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And then like you're tied to this fucking thing, all
- 23:39Speaker 1: your apps, everything like face Time and all that shit tied.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I really only had gotten Apple because like the FaceTime
- 23:46Speaker 1: shit like, and then trying to do business. Most people
- 23:49Speaker 1: have the Apple phone. Apple. Yeah, but I do want
- 23:52Speaker 1: to disconnect. I've been I've been wanting to get me.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Did you see there's a video going around right now
- 23:59Speaker 2: of this girl and her mom are in the h
- 24:02Speaker 2: some cellular phone store and she's disconnecting her daughter's service.
- 24:06Speaker 2: And this girl had a meltdown and people were like, oh,
- 24:11Speaker 2: my mom would have slapped the shit out of me,
- 24:12Speaker 2: and my mama would have knocked my teeth out and
- 24:14Speaker 2: that was all Like the black comments were just basically
- 24:17Speaker 2: what their mama would have done. But that was the
- 24:21Speaker 2: same behavior we had when we were told we could
- 24:24Speaker 2: not go outside. You know, it's just different. These kids
- 24:27Speaker 2: are so connected to their technology now.
- 24:30Speaker 1: All are, so it does feel like you're being untethered,
- 24:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. That could be devastating.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, I felt bad.
- 24:38Speaker 1: That goes out right now.
- 24:40Speaker 2: If somebody put my phone from me right.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Now, if the internet right now, people gonna be wilding out.
- 24:46Speaker 1: There's gonna be a lot of people like really having
- 24:50Speaker 1: meltdown withdrawn Yeah.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Yeah, withdraw like a drug withdrawal. I don't know if
- 24:54Speaker 2: it would be that bad for me. I think COVID
- 24:57Speaker 2: taught me something about disconnection that was so healthy and
- 25:00Speaker 2: beautiful for me, And now it did not start off
- 25:03Speaker 2: that way. I was scared. I made the only Fans
- 25:05Speaker 2: page like, I don't know how I'm about to survive.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I might have theo a real nigga on the Internet,
- 25:11Speaker 2: and I was praying that did not happen. You know,
- 25:14Speaker 2: everybody got it did not, But I felt so much.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I felt free, you know, I felt free for a
- 25:22Speaker 2: little while. I was out riding bikes and doing all
- 25:24Speaker 2: these things. So this connection was not a bad thing
- 25:27Speaker 2: for me. So if the Internet completely disappeared, I don't
- 25:31Speaker 2: think I would be I mean, well, it would be easy,
- 25:35Speaker 2: it wouldn't be devastating.
- 25:36Speaker 1: So y'all know how the Simpsons has been predicting shit
- 25:38Speaker 1: since forever, right, So there's a Simpson episode where Lisa
- 25:42Speaker 1: was trying to warn everybody about the sharks eating the
- 25:45Speaker 1: fiber cables and the ocean, and it caused the Internet
- 25:48Speaker 1: to go out why and the Baltic c two cables
- 25:54Speaker 1: just got clipped. They're trying to say that Russia is
- 25:57Speaker 1: trying to sabotage Europe, but it literally just happened, So
- 26:03Speaker 1: I all know, man, it might happen the symptoms. The
- 26:07Speaker 1: Simpsons be right about a lot of shit. I don't
- 26:10Speaker 1: know if it's if it's like no, because these do
- 26:14Speaker 1: be past episodes, so I can't even say that is it.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Is it art imitating life or vice versa, Like it
- 26:20Speaker 1: looks like the predictions or they're acting it out. They're
- 26:24Speaker 1: acting out what the Simpsons be doing. Maybe that's the
- 26:28Speaker 1: script for the world stage. I don't know anyway, y'all.
- 26:33Speaker 1: So Peter is accusing Butterball of producing sexually violated turkeys.
- 26:41Speaker 1: So somebody from Peter went undercover at a Butterball plant
- 26:46Speaker 1: and it said it says. In the video on Instagram,
- 26:49Speaker 1: the investigator, who remains anonymous, describes his under His little
- 26:52Speaker 1: Blood describes his undercover experience at the facility. He claims
- 26:57Speaker 1: to have seen workers sexually a salting turkeys before they
- 27:02Speaker 1: were slaughtered. So your turkey might have a little extra
- 27:07Speaker 1: frozen sauce this year, you know, a little bags I got,
- 27:12Speaker 1: like the kidneys and stuff all at this there might
- 27:16Speaker 1: be some extra shit in it, says. The investigator. Details
- 27:19Speaker 1: instance where work is allegedly humped, shackled turkeys and inserted
- 27:24Speaker 1: fingers into the birds. Clickosa, Yeah, it's basically like the
- 27:31Speaker 1: birds vagina right. While the production line was halted, footage
- 27:36Speaker 1: from the plant shows one work or roughly handling a
- 27:39Speaker 1: turkey while another appears to be kicking a bird, saying
- 27:43Speaker 1: I kicked the fuck out that motherfucker. In another shot
- 27:46Speaker 1: is a worker seemingly sitting on a turkey.
- 27:51Speaker 2: That terrible this is.
- 27:53Speaker 1: It just shows you how weird humans are, Like, why
- 27:55Speaker 1: do y'all want to abuse something so bad? Even like
- 27:57Speaker 1: the videos with people like what they're gonna do with
- 27:59Speaker 1: they robot when they get it? Why do y'all want
- 28:02Speaker 1: something to abuse so bad?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Right? Like what people her? People hurt people, that's what
- 28:09Speaker 2: it is. And you just got to pray. If you're
- 28:15Speaker 2: not growing your own food, you just don't know what
- 28:18Speaker 2: happens to it before it gets to your table. You
- 28:20Speaker 2: just gotta pray over it, you know. But yeah, yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 2: people are sick. People are mentally ill. Anybody who's sticking
- 28:27Speaker 2: their finger in the turkey's pussy for enjoyment is sick.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You know, that's a sick individual. All these people are
- 28:34Speaker 2: really sick.
- 28:35Speaker 1: And they said if one person was humping and I'm wondering,
- 28:38Speaker 1: like did he penetrate the turkey?
- 28:41Speaker 2: That's just disgusting.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And y'all know, it's still like illegal in some states
- 28:45Speaker 1: for people, if you're not a married man, to own
- 28:48Speaker 1: sheep because apparently sheep vagina is like real close to
- 28:51Speaker 1: human vagina to a women's vagina, So people be out
- 28:55Speaker 1: here having sex with sheep.
- 28:58Speaker 2: That's so sad. And it's not people, it's men. It's men.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Women ain't fucking sheep.
- 29:04Speaker 1: They fuck horses.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Though, anybody who let a horse put in them needed
- 29:11Speaker 2: to take it out in the bag and put down.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Because have you ever seen a horse?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Yes? I have, yes, and I've seen the people who've
- 29:19Speaker 1: taken them, and yeah, beige in color. Yeah, don't nobody.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I don't see why you ever want first of all,
- 29:30Speaker 2: an animal to hump you, and then of all animals
- 29:34Speaker 2: a horse. So I don't know. People are just weird.
- 29:37Speaker 1: It's nuts. And then one more thing, y'all before we
- 29:39Speaker 1: get off of sin. So Thanksgiving this is a lie.
- 29:42Speaker 1: First of all, This next part is just really some
- 29:44Speaker 1: stupid Internet news. It says Thanksgiving dinner allegedly historically affordable
- 29:48Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four. Believe it or not. It says
- 29:53Speaker 1: we're gonna choose not to believe it, but it says
- 29:55Speaker 1: Thanksgiving dinner will be more affordable in twenty twenty four.
- 30:00Speaker 1: American Farm Bureau of Federation AFBF said the average cost
- 30:04Speaker 1: of Thanksgiving dinner this year will be about fifty eight
- 30:08Speaker 1: dollars and eight cents for a ten person meal, or
- 30:14Speaker 1: about five dollars and eighty one cents a person. The
- 30:17Speaker 1: AFBF noted if your dollar had the same overall purchasing
- 30:21Speaker 1: power as a consumer in nineteen eighty four, this would
- 30:24Speaker 1: be the least expensive Thanksgiving meal in the thirty nine
- 30:28Speaker 1: year history of the AFBF Thanksgiving Survey, other than the
- 30:32Speaker 1: outlier of twenty twenty. Yeah, the forgotten year twenty twenty,
- 30:37Speaker 1: it says. While many people are still feeling financial stress,
- 30:40Speaker 1: the AFBF says this shows that wage inflation is an
- 30:45Speaker 1: issue that needs to be addressed. So I saw, I mean,
- 30:49Speaker 1: I was at Costco yesterday.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And of course you.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Twice this week, well one for your ass bitch, and
- 30:57Speaker 1: went there looking for some liquor for this bitch.
- 30:59Speaker 2: I said.
- 31:02Speaker 1: My daddy's birthday today, is said, I definitely would have
- 31:05Speaker 1: been a birthday gift for him.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Happy birthday?
- 31:07Speaker 1: Been wrong Rome my daddy's seventy four seven? Assing, yeah, man, many.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Costco pack.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I'm like, these people got money. And then you look
- 31:21Speaker 1: on Instagram and you see how people waste food for
- 31:23Speaker 1: content obviously isn't high enough. It's obviously not high enough
- 31:30Speaker 1: for people.
- 31:32Speaker 2: It is it is high enough for me. I was
- 31:34Speaker 2: in there on my I definitely go to the store
- 31:39Speaker 2: and I use the scooter and I'll be scooting all
- 31:41Speaker 2: over their place with a little wheelchair and it is high.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I left with three bags of stuff that we needed.
- 31:48Speaker 2: We purchased a lot of our Thanksgiving goods earlier in
- 31:51Speaker 2: the month, but you know, some ship you just got
- 31:53Speaker 2: to wait till the week of or it's gonna go bad,
- 31:55Speaker 2: like the perishables. And I spent eight dollars and I
- 32:00Speaker 2: only had three bags of things, you know, So it's
- 32:03Speaker 2: just like, where, how is it fifty eight dollars? I
- 32:06Speaker 2: spent over two hundred earlier in the month and now
- 32:08Speaker 2: another eighty. And I'm not making differ by myself.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what they're calculating, Like who, what
- 32:14Speaker 1: groceries can you buy for fifty You can't even get
- 32:16Speaker 1: a turkey for that much. The small turkeys they like
- 32:20Speaker 1: ten dollars a pound or some shit.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:23Speaker 1: No, Like I did look at turkeys, butter ball turkeys,
- 32:28Speaker 1: just to see like how much this stuff called I
- 32:30Speaker 1: don't eat it.
- 32:31Speaker 2: You know, that's bullshit. And I don't know. Nobody's believing that.
- 32:34Speaker 1: The turkey cost fifty eight dollars by itself, even if
- 32:38Speaker 1: you buy turkey wings. My nigga, you're paying ten dollars
- 32:41Speaker 1: or three of them.
- 32:42Speaker 2: You don't have to get a boards a turkey sandwich
- 32:45Speaker 2: in a pack of bread and call it Thanksgiving.
- 32:47Speaker 1: And split it between ten people.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they they're playing in Americans' faces. Man, they really
- 32:54Speaker 1: be playing. I feel like we don't know no better,
- 32:57Speaker 1: Like we don't actually live and feel the economy for
- 33:02Speaker 1: this economy right now. Yeah. But anyway, speaking on the
- 33:06Speaker 1: economy and all the things, y'all, I don't think we've
- 33:09Speaker 1: practiced gratitude much. We haven't talked about it anyway. So
- 33:15Speaker 1: you know, Thanksgiving is a great time, right to remind
- 33:20Speaker 1: people to be grateful and how do you do that?
- 33:23Speaker 2: Though, we're going to get into it after this commercial break,
- 33:29Speaker 2: we'll be back.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And we're back. So we wanted to talk about gratitude
- 33:39Speaker 1: and you know some of the things you can do
- 33:42Speaker 1: to stay grateful through the holidays, And we actually want
- 33:45Speaker 1: to challenge y'all to a thirty days of gratitude. What
- 33:48Speaker 1: we talk back period, so every episode to the end
- 33:52Speaker 1: of the year will mention like something we're grateful for
- 33:56Speaker 1: and then y'all can also I need to make a
- 33:59Speaker 1: post so y'all can leave us some messages and let
- 34:02Speaker 1: us know what y'all grateful for. We could play it
- 34:03Speaker 1: on the show, Child Girl with the Yes with the People.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Yeah, we definitely want to hear what you guys are
- 34:11Speaker 2: grateful for because that will encourage gratitude and others. I think,
- 34:15Speaker 2: you know, to be reminded of all the good things
- 34:18Speaker 2: that you have despite and sometimes knowing the bad shit
- 34:22Speaker 2: will make you grateful for all the good shit going
- 34:24Speaker 2: through it too.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because you know they tell you don't want to
- 34:27Speaker 1: just forget about stuff, because you forget how far you come, right,
- 34:32Speaker 1: you don't remember where the fuck you're at. Like, I'm
- 34:36Speaker 1: definitely this year could have been better, but it could
- 34:41Speaker 1: have definitely been worse. I am looking forward to twenty
- 34:45Speaker 1: twenty five, Child, the year number nine. Okay, twenty twenty five.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Me too. I'm definitely this year. I'm gonna get a
- 34:56Speaker 2: little vulnerable right now with y'all. This year has been
- 35:02Speaker 2: a hard one for me, you know, like just trying
- 35:05Speaker 2: to be fearless, trying to do the things that I've
- 35:10Speaker 2: been scared to do my entire life, you know, just
- 35:14Speaker 2: stepping out on faith. And earlier I was like I'm
- 35:18Speaker 2: gonna pack all my shit. I'm gonna move to LA
- 35:22Speaker 2: despite all the naysayers, despite what anybody thinks for me,
- 35:27Speaker 2: I'm gonna do it. But I realized that I was just,
- 35:33Speaker 2: you know, kind of running from something. You know, I
- 35:35Speaker 2: wasn't and I took the something with me, you know,
- 35:39Speaker 2: I took whatever that was I was running from, got
- 35:41Speaker 2: on the plane, sat in the seat right next to me.
- 35:43Speaker 1: You bought a ticket.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I bought that motherfucker a ticket when I took all
- 35:50Speaker 2: of that with me, And you know, when I was
- 35:54Speaker 2: sitting there with this broken foot and like, just you know,
- 35:57Speaker 2: I can't do nothing. I had to sit with that thing,
- 36:01Speaker 2: you know. I had to sit with that thing. I
- 36:04Speaker 2: had to lay in bed with that thing. I had
- 36:05Speaker 2: to feel that thing. And I had to realize that
- 36:08Speaker 2: I can't run from my own healing, right. I can't
- 36:13Speaker 2: run from my shame. I can't run from my guilt.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I have to sit in those things, and I actually
- 36:21Speaker 2: have to work on me. I have to work on
- 36:25Speaker 2: how I communicate with people. I have to work on
- 36:27Speaker 2: my tone. I have to work on understanding that my
- 36:33Speaker 2: words hurt. You know, I can't hurt people with my
- 36:35Speaker 2: words and just because I can't feel the hurt doesn't
- 36:37Speaker 2: mean it don't hurt that other person, you know. So
- 36:41Speaker 2: those are the things I have to I have to.
- 36:43Speaker 2: I had to forgive myself for things that I had,
- 36:48Speaker 2: you know, and I had to, you know, really decide
- 36:55Speaker 2: to take care of myself and not ignore things concerning
- 36:59Speaker 2: my health.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I have to like.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Not say oh, I just don't want to talk about it.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I just don't want to focus on that, thinking like saying, oh,
- 37:07Speaker 2: if I don't focus on it, it ain't real. It's
- 37:09Speaker 2: very real. And I need to like be very present
- 37:13Speaker 2: with my health, you know. So God will sit you down, baby,
- 37:19Speaker 2: let in a real way and make you deal with
- 37:25Speaker 2: the ship that. And I'm so and I'm so grateful.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Like in August September, y'all, I just was like, I
- 37:33Speaker 2: was so I'm about to cry. I was so sad
- 37:40Speaker 2: and just trying to laugh through the pain, y'all. I
- 37:43Speaker 2: get on here and I'll be telling jokes and all
- 37:45Speaker 2: that shit, but for real, I was hurt. I was
- 37:49Speaker 2: so hurt, and I just can't believe, like God, why me,
- 37:52Speaker 2: I'm trying to do all the things that I'm trying
- 37:54Speaker 2: to walk in your life and trying to be the
- 37:57Speaker 2: best version of myself. But I had to realize that
- 38:01Speaker 2: he didn't want to be a better version of myself.
- 38:03Speaker 2: He wanted to renew me and that and I had
- 38:07Speaker 2: to let go of what was and that that was hard.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Letting go of people, letting go of place, is letting
- 38:15Speaker 2: go of things and attitudes. I had to, really and
- 38:18Speaker 2: I'm not done yet. I'm still working out at me.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I'm still yeah, I'm still letting.
- 38:23Speaker 1: Stallion her album, like with the Snakes shedding, like people
- 38:25Speaker 1: saw it as a negative thing. People see snakes as
- 38:27Speaker 1: a negative thing, but it's actually a good omen because
- 38:30Speaker 1: it's changed. You know what I'm saying, You shedding that
- 38:33Speaker 1: old skin and to get to the new place you
- 38:36Speaker 1: got to get rid of to owe you, you gotta
- 38:39Speaker 1: do things that's never done, you know. So I do
- 38:42Speaker 1: a lot of reflection too, man. And it's.
- 38:46Speaker 2: And I had to humble myself in a significant way.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I had to move back home with my mama. Then
- 38:53Speaker 2: I had to go back home with my mama.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Been there, girl.
- 38:59Speaker 2: And the crazy part is it's not that I can't
- 39:02Speaker 2: afford to go get another spot. I can go get
- 39:04Speaker 2: a place right now, But I can't, I couldn't walk.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I needed my support system. I needed I had to
- 39:10Speaker 2: say I need y'all, right now, I need your help.
- 39:14Speaker 2: And my attitude was like prior, I don't need nobody.
- 39:18Speaker 2: I got money, I can do whatever I need for myself.
- 39:20Speaker 2: I don't need nobody. God was like, oh, that's what
- 39:24Speaker 2: you think. I'm gonna make you need people with your money.
- 39:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna make you need them. And I was like, Lord,
- 39:34Speaker 2: because me and my mama will bump heads. But it's
- 39:36Speaker 2: been so smooth, it's been so peaceful. It's been so joyous,
- 39:41Speaker 2: like we just being there, laughing and enjoying each other.
- 39:44Speaker 2: And I'm just so grateful for that space to know
- 39:47Speaker 2: that it's possible, you know, like who would have thought
- 39:51Speaker 2: that me and you could exist in this space like that?
- 39:54Speaker 2: And nobody did. So I'm so grateful for that, you know,
- 40:01Speaker 2: I'm grateful for that. I'm sorry, I'm rambling, I'm let
- 40:05Speaker 2: you go, but I just wanted to share that with y'all,
- 40:08Speaker 2: Like whatever storm that you're experiencing, we all gonna have
- 40:13Speaker 2: them highs and lows. And I never saw this coming.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I went to a wedding, you know, I went to
- 40:17Speaker 2: a wedding, think I'm just gonna drink and be merry.
- 40:21Speaker 2: And that situation, just in the blink of them not
- 40:24Speaker 2: changed my life significantly. And it just wasn't physically, it
- 40:29Speaker 2: was emotionally and it was something I had to go
- 40:31Speaker 2: through and I'm not through it. I'm still sitting in
- 40:34Speaker 2: here in the boot. I go to the doctor of
- 40:35Speaker 2: December fourth, and I need y'all to pray for my
- 40:40Speaker 2: foot that when I go in that they don't tell
- 40:42Speaker 2: me I need a pin in it. But if I do,
- 40:45Speaker 2: it is what it is. I'm gonna have to, you know,
- 40:47Speaker 2: weather that storm. But I know I can do it.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Yeah, man, all the things you could do, all the things, man, Yeah,
- 40:56Speaker 1: life will have a way of setting your ass to
- 40:58Speaker 1: fuck down. I have been sat down, and I feel
- 41:01Speaker 1: like my whole thing began like the age of thirty three,
- 41:04Speaker 1: which is a significant number. Right, So from thirty three
- 41:09Speaker 1: up until now, I have been fighting for me. I've
- 41:12Speaker 1: been fighting for my sanity, for my mental health, and bitch,
- 41:18Speaker 1: I'm about to cry, but I'm grateful. I'm still grateful
- 41:24Speaker 1: for the struggle, right because remembering the struggle, remembering where
- 41:29Speaker 1: I was, I do see the progress right, And I
- 41:33Speaker 1: have a lot of gratitude for where I was, and
- 41:36Speaker 1: I have a lot more gratitude for where I'm headed at.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I do a lot of shadow work, which I'd be
- 41:42Speaker 1: sitting in the bathroom with a candlelight looking at myself
- 41:46Speaker 1: because that's where it starts at. Is never anything outside
- 41:49Speaker 1: of you, even the people that you meet that you
- 41:51Speaker 1: think you have problems with. I had a little relationship
- 41:53Speaker 1: go recently and I had to realize that that person
- 42:00Speaker 1: is an aspect of me, right, or was an aspect
- 42:03Speaker 1: of me that I let go. So now that relationship
- 42:07Speaker 1: no longer can exist, and it's okay. And I still
- 42:10Speaker 1: remember that that person. I still remember who I was
- 42:15Speaker 1: when in the friendship with that person, but I'm not
- 42:18Speaker 1: there anymore, and that and these people will keep trying
- 42:21Speaker 1: to tug you back there, right.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Absolutely, girl, you preach it to the choir with that one.
- 42:28Speaker 2: I had a similar situation, and I was saying to
- 42:31Speaker 2: myself last night, like I argue with this woman because
- 42:36Speaker 2: we have that same we can she.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Knows these people know where to come at for that
- 42:42Speaker 1: thing that they need, that fix, the fixing them that
- 42:44Speaker 1: wants the confrontation, Like I know bitch. I'll argue your
- 42:47Speaker 1: ass down all day. So you want that smoke, come
- 42:50Speaker 1: come over here. But I don't be wanting to smoke.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the thing. I don't want to don't want
- 42:56Speaker 2: to do it. I argued this bitch down the other
- 42:59Speaker 2: day and then after it was done, I did not
- 43:01Speaker 2: feel good. My vibration was low. I was like, this
- 43:04Speaker 2: is not who I am anymore. This is everything that
- 43:06Speaker 2: I'm fighting not to be. I can't be what I
- 43:11Speaker 2: want to be in a friendship with you right now,
- 43:14Speaker 2: so I have to exit, you know, I have to
- 43:16Speaker 2: exit so I can be this thing I'm trying to be.
- 43:19Speaker 2: And when you have some people in your life for
- 43:23Speaker 2: so long, you feel like they're supposed to be there
- 43:26Speaker 2: because they've been there so long, But that's not true.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Sometimes you got to let go and love people from
- 43:33Speaker 2: a distance and understand that that chapter was a chapter
- 43:37Speaker 2: and it's closed and that's okay.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you know I used to. Really it's some relationships
- 43:43Speaker 1: that I feel like I like grieved from, you know,
- 43:45Speaker 1: grieved over for years. Right. These are friendships with women,
- 43:50Speaker 1: because I'll always be saying like I don't lose friends,
- 43:53Speaker 1: like I literally be taking other people friends, not taking them,
- 43:55Speaker 1: but I'll make friends with other people. Friends and all
- 43:57Speaker 1: the people that I love, I like them to all
- 43:58Speaker 1: be together. But I do have some relationships that ended right,
- 44:03Speaker 1: and I grieve the loss of this person, but I
- 44:06Speaker 1: can't I can't perceive their experience in the relationship with me.
- 44:12Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. Maybe I was a horrible
- 44:15Speaker 1: person to.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Them, right. You might be a villain in the story.
- 44:18Speaker 1: And I'm okay with that too, because what I do
- 44:21Speaker 1: know that I do in relationships is my best every time,
- 44:27Speaker 1: no matter what the relationship with my family, the relationships
- 44:30Speaker 1: with my friends, co workers, if I'm workers somewhere like
- 44:33Speaker 1: I an't working nowhere. But you know what I'm saying,
- 44:35Speaker 1: my my romantic relationships, I do my best, so I
- 44:38Speaker 1: could feel okay with however it is and if it
- 44:43Speaker 1: even has to be right, And that's all you could
- 44:47Speaker 1: do is your best, right, that's all you get.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Sometimes does fall short, and that's okay. We're human and
- 44:54Speaker 2: we're having a human experience and you can just try
- 44:58Speaker 2: to be better the next time, you know, the next
- 45:00Speaker 2: go around. Change behavior is always the best. I'm sorry,
- 45:05Speaker 2: you know, So you can't have no rest this man, Yeah,
- 45:11Speaker 2: I mean that's what I'm saying. I been thinking about, like, damn,
- 45:14Speaker 2: if I had made this choice, then I would be
- 45:17Speaker 2: doing this now or you just you can't live there.
- 45:21Speaker 1: You can change the past by doing better in the future, though,
- 45:25Speaker 1: that's why you change your past, like you can't you
- 45:27Speaker 1: can change the past. You got to do it in
- 45:30Speaker 1: the present. In the future, though, and you look at
- 45:33Speaker 1: it differently. You'll look at the past differently, So you
- 45:36Speaker 1: just got to focus on the present. So we focused
- 45:39Speaker 1: on I just look at it like.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Even even those mistakes, even those are just in all failures,
- 45:46Speaker 2: all of those are just steps to where you're supposed
- 45:48Speaker 2: to be. You know, these things were meant to happen
- 45:50Speaker 2: for a reason so you could get to your greatness,
- 45:53Speaker 2: whatever that is.
- 45:54Speaker 1: And I feel like you can't get to your greatness
- 45:57Speaker 1: without being everything stripped away to owe you. You can't.
- 46:00Speaker 1: You like, you have to lose everything, hm to even
- 46:06Speaker 1: get your mind in the space that needs to be
- 46:09Speaker 1: so you can get to where you want to be.
- 46:11Speaker 1: You do have to lose everything.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Bitch, that's what I was about to be, like so big,
- 46:23Speaker 3: so huge, because I was stripped the material things friendships,
- 46:29Speaker 3: relations romantic relationships, finances, everything, everything, even walking.
- 46:38Speaker 2: God stripped me down to the bare minimal baby, But
- 46:44Speaker 2: you made it through.
- 46:46Speaker 1: You making it through that you die.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I did not. I did not die. And the woman
- 46:53Speaker 2: who's coming up out of the ashes is so much better.
- 46:57Speaker 2: It is so more, much more grateful, and not for things,
- 47:03Speaker 2: for relationships, for people, for the network that I have.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I have a renewed gratitude for the things that really matter.
- 47:12Speaker 1: You know, relationships is worth more than gold. It's just
- 47:18Speaker 1: about man. That's my religion, music and relationships. Yeah, that's
- 47:23Speaker 1: what I subscribe to.
- 47:25Speaker 2: But what are the four a's of gratitude.
- 47:28Speaker 1: So let's see what it says here. Appreciation You just
- 47:34Speaker 1: said we were appreciative for a lot of things. So
- 47:36Speaker 1: it says recognize and value the positive aspects of your life,
- 47:41Speaker 1: including people, experiences, and blessings. The second A is acknowledgment.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Consciously recognize the good things in your life and feel
- 47:55Speaker 1: thankful for them. I think a lot of times when
- 47:57Speaker 1: people be threatened about like one little small thing that
- 48:02Speaker 1: don't really matter, they're not you're not practicing gratitude. Like
- 48:06Speaker 1: if you just see the negative about everything.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Right and you can't find no space of nothing to
- 48:14Speaker 2: be happy about. But baby, I get you know, when
- 48:17Speaker 2: you're in the thick of it, it'd be hard to
- 48:20Speaker 2: find that gratitude sometimes when people be.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Like, oh, somebody else got it worse, but this is
- 48:25Speaker 1: the bottom for me. I can't comparing my bottom to
- 48:28Speaker 1: other people. This is my bottom. So yeah, somebody else
- 48:32Speaker 1: might have it worse, and yes, I can probably think
- 48:34Speaker 1: about that to make me feel better about my situation,
- 48:36Speaker 1: but this is still I'm still in it.
- 48:39Speaker 2: I'm still in it right now, and it's hard to
- 48:41Speaker 2: see the light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah,
- 48:43Speaker 2: I get it, But you gotta dig for that gratitude, baby,
- 48:47Speaker 2: You gotta dig somewhere deep to find it, because if
- 48:50Speaker 2: you sit in that space for too long, you can
- 48:52Speaker 2: turn it to a bitter ass motherfucker. Do you know
- 48:55Speaker 2: people that's just like walking around? Yes, very close to.
- 48:59Speaker 1: Me, absolutely got everything, got everything mad, just mad, just upset,
- 49:08Speaker 1: just angry because you're not practicing gratitude. You mean to
- 49:10Speaker 1: tell me there's nothing in your life that you're grateful for.
- 49:13Speaker 1: If we just got a name, one thing for thirty days,
- 49:15Speaker 1: I got a million things for each day too, Like
- 49:19Speaker 1: I wake up feeling great. My feet you're hurting a
- 49:22Speaker 1: little bit because I don't get a couple of pounds.
- 49:24Speaker 1: But other than talking about now, I think I got
- 49:29Speaker 1: what is that called flashy itis. Flash I got that,
- 49:36Speaker 1: and you know, I had it some years ago and
- 49:38Speaker 1: and just randomly went away. But it's that, my fucking friend, bitch,
- 49:43Speaker 1: I might be feeling your pain. I might be feeling
- 49:48Speaker 1: your pain a little bit. The third A is admiration
- 49:52Speaker 1: compliment people on their traits, skills, or accomplishments. That's one
- 49:57Speaker 1: way like giving somebody else a Yeah, like, you know,
- 50:02Speaker 1: tell somebody else how what you think of them and
- 50:05Speaker 1: how wonderful they are, how amazing they are today. Can
- 50:08Speaker 1: we do that?
- 50:09Speaker 2: Yeah? And do it when not looking for a compliment
- 50:14Speaker 2: in return, right, do it just because you know, I
- 50:19Speaker 2: never know what.
- 50:19Speaker 1: To say when somebody says something nice to me. I
- 50:21Speaker 1: just always like.
- 50:23Speaker 2: You are the worst at taking a compliment.
- 50:26Speaker 1: And that's one of the things I'd be working on.
- 50:27Speaker 1: I'd be working on it, just trying to and I
- 50:30Speaker 1: don't that doesn't come from a place of not feeling
- 50:32Speaker 1: deserving though.
- 50:33Speaker 2: It just feels to me you be just trying to
- 50:37Speaker 2: be so humble. Stop. You don't have to be humble,
- 50:39Speaker 2: so humble all the time. But I really I'm.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Really not that humble though, Like I'm humble. I have
- 50:45Speaker 1: a nice I feel like I have a nice level
- 50:48Speaker 1: of all the things. Like it's just like, yeah, if.
- 50:52Speaker 2: I'd be like, that's a pretty dress, this whole thing,
- 50:56Speaker 2: I had it forever, Like you don't have to do that,
- 50:59Speaker 2: just say thank you. You don't have to minimize whatever
- 51:02Speaker 2: it is that's being complimented.
- 51:04Speaker 1: I don't know. I still got to work on it
- 51:05Speaker 1: because I still do that, and I feel like that's
- 51:07Speaker 1: something that hasn't passed down to me. That's not my thing,
- 51:11Speaker 1: that's not my own thing. A lot of things aren't
- 51:13Speaker 1: our things, but we picked them up somewhere. Yeah, so
- 51:20Speaker 1: recognize them and fix them. And the last a is attention.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Listen to others with patience and attention. I gotta work
- 51:32Speaker 1: on that. I got to work on not responding, smiling
- 51:35Speaker 1: and nodding more often, you know, just you're right, I
- 51:40Speaker 1: hear you, period.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I see my attitude toward that is what I'm doing
- 51:45Speaker 2: now or I'm trying to do more of is listening
- 51:52Speaker 2: to here and not to respond. Listening to actually be
- 51:59Speaker 2: open into a different perspective and not just listening. So
- 52:04Speaker 2: my till it's my turn to talk, you know, especially
- 52:07Speaker 2: when it's something I'm passionate about, I be like, yeah, yeah,
- 52:11Speaker 2: I already know what you're gonna say, but I do
- 52:13Speaker 2: I really no, I don't. You know, Just let this
- 52:15Speaker 2: person express themselves because you might learn something. You might
- 52:21Speaker 2: get a new perspective, you might get a new idea
- 52:24Speaker 2: about something. So I just try to be more open
- 52:27Speaker 2: to being objective to other perspectives and shut up. Just
- 52:32Speaker 2: shut up. I know I talked back, but I can
- 52:34Speaker 2: shut up too.
- 52:36Speaker 1: So I definitely listen, and I like to know other
- 52:39Speaker 1: people's perspective about stuff, but I also be wanting people
- 52:44Speaker 1: to hear my perspective. Now, my ego isn't big enough
- 52:47Speaker 1: to want to beat some shit into somebody's brain. So
- 52:50Speaker 1: how I might do it? I might follow up with
- 52:52Speaker 1: additional information. If you are more of a visual learner,
- 52:55Speaker 1: if you need to see something and I feel like
- 53:00Speaker 1: wanting to understand somebody else, that comes with like if
- 53:03Speaker 1: you actually love them and respect them, right, if you
- 53:07Speaker 1: just readily just ready to discard somebody because you don't
- 53:11Speaker 1: understand their perspective. You're not trying to hear what they say.
- 53:13Speaker 1: You're not trying to you're not trying to see it.
- 53:15Speaker 1: They wait because we don't have to see each other
- 53:17Speaker 1: shit the same way. We don't have to. But there's
- 53:19Speaker 1: a level of understanding that comes with love and respect though, right,
- 53:24Speaker 1: I want to understand where you're coming from because I
- 53:26Speaker 1: respect you and I respect your perspective. I want to
- 53:30Speaker 1: see you, but I want the same thing back too, though, right. Yeah,
- 53:35Speaker 1: So that's I feel like that's what i'd be fighting for.
- 53:37Speaker 1: But the thing is, I gotta be okay with them
- 53:39Speaker 1: not seeing my perspective and not seeing it my way,
- 53:42Speaker 1: and it's fine, right.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I've definitely I feel like I've mastered that now,
- 53:51Speaker 2: Like I would just be quiet real quick, you got,
- 53:55Speaker 2: and let people say what they how they feel. It's okay,
- 53:58Speaker 2: you know.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Okay, So how do you practice gratitude? And this is
- 54:05Speaker 1: for this is going to be fire. Thirty days of gratitude.
- 54:09Speaker 1: So from what we want, it's over thirty days, so
- 54:12Speaker 1: from here to the end of the year, basically until
- 54:16Speaker 1: January one, because then we get into goal setting and
- 54:18Speaker 1: all that year. Bitch, Look, I got the same goals
- 54:21Speaker 1: from last year. You get this motherfucking patron Okay, when
- 54:26Speaker 1: I tell you I got so many, there are one
- 54:28Speaker 1: two three million dollar houses on my fucking zoo search. Okay, listen,
- 54:36Speaker 1: and I'm getting one of them. That's just it is
- 54:38Speaker 1: what it is because I said so. So this says
- 54:42Speaker 1: practicing daily gratitude. Ten ways to practice daily gratitude. This
- 54:46Speaker 1: is from mindful dot org. Okay, so the first thing
- 54:51Speaker 1: it says, keep a gratitude journal. We know this. Write
- 54:54Speaker 1: down all your things right down.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I bought you one.
- 55:00Speaker 1: I have it. It's on the side of my bed. Okay,
- 55:02Speaker 1: so maybe I'll write in it.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 55:07Speaker 1: It says keep a gratitude journal. Establish a daily practice
- 55:10Speaker 1: in which you remind yourself of the gifts, grace, benefits,
- 55:16Speaker 1: and good things you enjoy. Recalling moments of gratitude associated
- 55:21Speaker 1: with ordinary events, personal attributes, or valued people in your
- 55:26Speaker 1: life gives you the potential to interweave a sustainable theme
- 55:30Speaker 1: of gratefulness into your life. So write it down. Write
- 55:36Speaker 1: that shit down. Like a couple of weeks ago, I
- 55:38Speaker 1: attended a friend of ours. She had a zoom thing
- 55:43Speaker 1: what her group of people is called. Write that shit down. Now.
- 55:48Speaker 1: I wrote that shit down now, and I revisited since
- 55:51Speaker 1: I wrote that shit down, So I gotta do better.
- 55:56Speaker 1: I gotta do better with just being consistent with all things.
- 55:59Speaker 1: Take them a fucking vitamins, Okay, eating properly, working out,
- 56:04Speaker 1: it's being consistent. But I do have gratitude that I
- 56:07Speaker 1: can wake up and choose if I'm doing it today
- 56:10Speaker 1: or not. Right, Thank you God, Thank you God.
- 56:16Speaker 2: I think another way a good practice is, you know,
- 56:21Speaker 2: instead of waking up and saying, I gotta go to work.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Today, I get to go.
- 56:25Speaker 2: I get to go. Yeah, you know, change the way
- 56:28Speaker 2: you even speak about the things in your life. You know,
- 56:32Speaker 2: some people don't get to go, you know, but you do.
- 56:35Speaker 2: You know, so.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Got changing your programming.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Yeah.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Number two is remember the bad We said that. So
- 56:45Speaker 1: to be grateful in your current state, it is helpful
- 56:48Speaker 1: to remember the hard times that you once experienced. When
- 56:52Speaker 1: you remember how difficult life used to be and how
- 56:55Speaker 1: far you have come, you set up an explicit contrast
- 56:58Speaker 1: in your mind. And this contrast is fertile ground for gratefulness.
- 57:03Speaker 1: So you almost got to trick your mind, Like is
- 57:04Speaker 1: your mind be tricking you? Your subconscious mind really be
- 57:09Speaker 1: holding on to a bunch of little small thoughts about nothing,
- 57:13Speaker 1: so not even intrusive, because we intrusive me, like you
- 57:18Speaker 1: want to do some bad ship, but it's just like.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Just But sometimes intrusive thoughts can be shipped against.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Your Yeah this negative yeah right right, negative thoughts about yourself,
- 57:28Speaker 1: So replace it with something positive. The minutes you start
- 57:30Speaker 1: thinking about some negative ship, replace it with a positive thought.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Just keep doing that until all your thoughts are positive. Like,
- 57:39Speaker 1: of course you're going to have bad things happen, but
- 57:44Speaker 1: you can't live there. You can't live there forever. I mean,
- 57:48Speaker 1: broke got a couple of weeks.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Listen, you can live there, but I advise against it. Man,
- 57:56Speaker 2: you get there, not a good place.
- 57:58Speaker 1: To get out of there. Number three says ask yourself
- 58:03Speaker 1: three questions, meditating your relationships with parents, friends, siblings, work, associates, children,
- 58:11Speaker 1: and partners. Using these three questions, what have I received
- 58:17Speaker 1: from blank? What have I given to blank? And what troubles,
- 58:23Speaker 1: troubles and difficulty have I caused? Are the three questions
- 58:30Speaker 1: you want to ask yourself about the people in your life,
- 58:33Speaker 1: about the relationships.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Yep, that's good, And then be like.
- 58:42Speaker 1: You got to find a way to be okay. Even
- 58:44Speaker 1: if you cause something, still be okay with it and
- 58:48Speaker 1: do bed and moving forward. Share your gratitude with others.
- 58:55Speaker 1: So research has found that expressing gratitude can strengthen relationships.
- 58:59Speaker 1: So the next time your partner, friend, or family member
- 59:03Speaker 1: does something you appreciate, be sure to let them know. Yeah,
- 59:07Speaker 1: I appreciate that, I tell them. So I appreciate them
- 59:11Speaker 1: all day long, you know what I'm saying. Like, if
- 59:13Speaker 1: I'm grocery shopping, somebody do, Okay, thank you, I appreciate you,
- 59:15Speaker 1: Like I think that does something for their day too.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Yeah, And you can tell people you appreciate things that
- 59:24Speaker 2: haven't been done for you. I appreciate the things that
- 59:27Speaker 2: you're doing for others, you know, Like are our friend
- 59:32Speaker 2: Ebene from the.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Oh she's her Turkey drive. Yeah, I appreciate Professional home
- 59:38Speaker 1: Girl Okay, the Professional Homegirl podcast, y'all check her out.
- 59:42Speaker 1: She's also on Black Effect yep.
- 59:45Speaker 2: So that's you know, it doesn't have to be something
- 59:47Speaker 2: directly related to them doing things for you. Just knowledge
- 59:52Speaker 2: people for what they're doing for others as well.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Absolutely, come to your sensesber five says, through our senses
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: the ability to touch sea, smell tasting. Here we gain
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: an appreciation of what it means to be human and
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: of what an incredible miracle it is to be alive.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I don't think y'all realized man could have been somebody
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: else would have made it to that damn egg right,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: seeing through that the sperm that made it back, you
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: made it. Seeing through the lens of gratitude. The human
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: body is not only a miraculous construction, but it also
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: is a gift. So people, he.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: May so sit with that for just a second. You
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: got the gift of life, Like, look, you got lucky,
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: you hit the lottery. How many sperm be shooting out
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: there for a.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Lot a lot?
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: And you know, I know.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I have a lot of gratitude for being alive. And
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I do think my mom right, because she has reminded
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: me a couple of times how she was sitting an
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: abortion planet as a married woman with two children, about
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: to abort me. And maybe this is why I feel
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: so strongly about Yeah, she just told me that, right,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: And I said, well, that's why i was breach stepping
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: out that pussy feet first, because I'm supposed to be here.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: I know, I'm supposed to be here for this time,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: all the things we experiencing now and the stupid shit
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: like I know my purpose on this planet. I think
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: you also could feel gain gratitude in that way too,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: just figuring out what your purpose is, right, you know,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: And a lot of times it takes you got to
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: go from from nothing to even to get to that
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: place to understand what is your purpose on this planet?
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Why are you here? Are you just going to just
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: roam around your whole life like just just not knowing?
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: And that's unfortunate.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: So because on this planet, unfortunately, this hell realm, if
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: you don't figure out what you want for your life,
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: somebody else will and judicial system to just put your
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: ass in jail for the rest of it. So be careful,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: my man. That's you pay them taxes, bitch.
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: What else is meant?
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Use visual reminders because the two primary obstacles to gratefulness
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: are forgetfulness and a lack of mindful awareness. Visual reminders
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: can serve as cues to trigger thoughts thoughts of gratitude. Oftentimes,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: the best visual reminders are other people. I keep saying,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna get me one like a big whiteboard and
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: just put it in my fucking living room and right
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: ship and remove ship as I knock shit off my
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: little list. It might not be for gratitude, but just
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: so I can stay.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: You can for gratitude and half to do.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: But I do be needing to see it because.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: It is for real.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: For real is out of sight, out of mind for me.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I don't know. It might be my autism kicking in sometimes.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I can believe it that up.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Make a vow to practice gratitude. Research shows that making
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: an oath to perform a behavior increases the likelihood that
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: the action will be executed. Therefore, write your own gratitude vowel,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: which could be as simple as I vow I vow
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: to count my blessings each day and post it somewhere
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: where you will be reminded of it every day. You know,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: people start putting the post its on the bathroom mirror
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: and so on. I could just see my cat now
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: snatching that shit down. Bitch, I'm trying to get us,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I Mansion, what you're doing doing.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: I think another good way to perform some gratitude is
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: to kiss yourself in the mirror every day in the morning.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: You don't really have to kiss the mirror and leave
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: all lipproots all over your mirror. I can't even get
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: close to my mirror without having to climb on the counter.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: But start making love to yourself, you know, not physically.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: I mean you could do that too, but I mean
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: being grateful is also showing love to yourself, you know.
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: I think it starts there. Yeah. I always like with
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: my friends sometimes when you be like talking shit to
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: yourself or talking ship, I'd be like, be nice to
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: my friend, and you be like, who are you talking about?
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Bitch you talk about? You be nice to her. I
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: don't like that.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I know I'd be hard on myself. Man, I'd be
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: real hard on myself. So I do have to replace
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: some negative thoughts a lot throughout the day. Throughout the day,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: just as long as you're mindful, right, that's where it starts.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: You got to recognize the problem before you can fucking
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: fix it. So Number A says, watch your language. Grateful
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: people have a particular linguistic style that uses the language
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: of gifts, givers, blessings, blessed, fortunate, fortunate, and abundance and gratitude.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: You should not focus on how inherently good you are
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: but rather on the inherently good things that others have
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: done on your behalf. M Anyway, I like all those words.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: I don't. I don't like the word blessed though, because
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: it's be less. So I like bliss All other ones
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: are bless Yeah, that's fine. I like the I like blissings,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: my blessings. Yeah, you got You definitely got to watch
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: your mouth, man, you definitely got to watch your mouth.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: And I always tell people over yourself and everybody else.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: I always tell people that your tongue is a magic wine.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: When people are saying stuff like gative, stuff like I can't,
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: I won't, I should.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I'm dead.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: I hate that.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I hate when I see that in the comments I'm dead.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Like, don't speak good carry yourself? Yeah are also I
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: don't like demon time don't I don't do nothing? Demon
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: don't slowly? Yeah I've been going out. Yeah, don't do that.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I hate that. Yeah. So your tongue is a wind.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Remember that. Speak blessings over yourself, for blessings or whatever
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: you have, speak that over yourself and everybody around you.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: So when people say have a blest day, it's usually
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: them being real condescending and like they don't really mean
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: for you to have a blessed day. That's why I'm like,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: don't tell me to have a blessed day, because you're
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: telling me that, you're telling me to be less today.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Well that's not how you come before the eat. Huh
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: b less is b E l E S S.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: Well just b you're not putting the E in there,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: So B L E S S.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: This is all about perspective because.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: The English language was a big ass curse in itself.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: So a lot of times like people be talking about
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: motherfucker saying grand rising or because people don't want to
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: say good morning anymore because morning means morning, like you're
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: waking up mourning some shit. M Oh you are I
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: ng m Oh you are n I NG mourning. So
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I mean when I.
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Tell somebody, uh, be blessed or have a blessed day,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: I mean it in the most positive. Even when you.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Argue with somebody, you ain't ever say have a blessing.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: I don't say that when I'm arguing a lot of
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: people don't tell them to have a good day. Have
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: a good day.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Them church, But that means about a blessed day real quick,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: have a blessed day.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: And I'll say have a good day, good day, But
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: do you really mean that? Yeah, because I'm about to go.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: That means I'm about to exit.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I like to say, how the day you deserve? Yeah,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: go have the day you deserve to have.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: But I just even even still, it just I don't anytime.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: At this point, I feel like when I wish negative
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: on people, I'm wishing it on myself. You know, when
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: I offer negative people, I'm offering it to myself. So
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: I having the day you deserve, I hope it's good
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: because I want a good day. You know, be blessed
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: because I want to be blessed. It's a circle everything
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: I'm finding like when I do when I do bad shit,
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: bad shit happened to me. When I do good shit,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: good shit happens to me. When I give, I get gotasy.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: That is that is so easy, isn't it. Yeah, that's
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: a hard concept for a lot of people to grasp.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Number nine is go through the motions. Grateful emotions include smiling,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: saying thank you, writing letters of gratitude. By going through
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: grateful emotions, you'll trigger the emotion of gratitude more often. Yeah, man, smout, smile.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: Be nice, be nice to be both they thank you.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: You know. I go to fast food restaurants and well,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: not for real, but just Chick fil a is the
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: only place that it is nice. I like apple pies
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: from Popeyes, and the customer service is deplorable. Like why
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: am I saying thank you to you and I appreciate
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: to you, but you slamming my fucking apple pies on
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: the counter. They not practicing gratitude.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: They're not. They're not, but they might be having a
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: hard day. I always just try to be like they
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: might have Who knows they could have shipped their pasts
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: this morning. Who knows what happened. I don't. I don't
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: know what happened to them, So I'm not I don't
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: take it personal. I just give the energy that I
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: want in return and hopefully expread, you know.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: But I feel like that's a good example of why
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: people aren't having the things they think they're supposed to
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: have and aren't doing the things that they think they're
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: supposed to be doing. Because your attitude sucks no matter
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: what you're doing, like, you gotta do it happily.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: And I you know what, I talk to everybody like
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: I know them, everybody our encounter. I treat them like
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: I already met them a long time ago. How are
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: your mama doing? I ain't never met your mama in
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: the day in my life? You doing?
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: So That's how I encountered the world, all right.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: And so the last one is think outside the box.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: If you want to make the most out of opportunities
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: to flex your gratitude muscles, you must look creatively. Creativity.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Creativity creatively is that what creating? What you're creatively creative? Like?
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Get you tongue coming in? Uh? Creatively for new situations
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: and circumstances in which to feel grateful. Please share the
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: creative ways you found to help you to help you
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: practice gratitude. Think outside the box. If you want to
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: make the most out of opportunities stuff like, you must
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: look at them. I don't know, So how are you
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: gonna think outside the box to? I don't know why
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: they even added that number ten, but it's there. This
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: is on mindful dot org Healthy mind, Healthy Life.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Amen.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: Like that I wanted to they got that trademark. Yeah.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: I hope you all apply some of this to your

- 1:11:43Speaker 2: you hear this, and I hope you apply this to
