- 0:18Announcer: Now let's join our host, Ron Myers, the promoter.
- 0:21Ron Meyers: Hello, my friends, and welcome to Get the Hell Out of Your Life.
- 0:25Ron Meyers: I'm Ron Myers, and I need to ask you, have you had your conversations with Jesus this past week?
- 0:31Ron Meyers: You know, Jesus isn't waiting for the perfect time or the perfect prayer.
- 0:36Ron Meyers: Just talk to him.
- 0:38Ron Meyers: One conversation can change the direction of your day.
- 0:42Ron Meyers: Today I want to ask you a big question.
- 0:46Ron Meyers: What are you believing when everything around you looks destroyed in shambles, just chaos?
- 0:53Ron Meyers: You know, I had another show planned for today, but on Monday night I was watching the New Orleans Saints play the Atlanta Falcons for Dome Coming.
- 1:02Ron Meyers: It was a remembrance of when the Saints returned to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina.
- 1:09Ron Meyers: And suddenly I wasn't watching history, I was reliving it.
- 1:13Ron Meyers: The images, the water, the destruction, the people, the helplessness.
- 1:17Ron Meyers: Twenty years disappeared just like that.
- 1:21Ron Meyers: And I heard that little voice inside, Ron, you need to tell this story.
- 1:25Ron Meyers: Because somewhere today, somebody listening to me is facing their own Katrina.
- 1:30Ron Meyers: Maybe you lost your job.
- 1:32Ron Meyers: Maybe the doctor gave you news you never expected.
- 1:36Ron Meyers: Maybe somebody you love walked out.
- 1:39Ron Meyers: Maybe your finances have collapsed.
- 1:42Ron Meyers: Maybe the dream you've worked on for years has fallen apart.
- 1:47Ron Meyers: And maybe you're sitting there wondering, Jesus, what in the world am I supposed to do now?
- 1:55Ron Meyers: Well, friends, I've been there, and life has taught me something very important.
- 2:00Ron Meyers: Don't write the ending while you're still in the middle of the storm.
- 2:05Ron Meyers: Because the storm doesn't get the final word.
- 2:09Ron Meyers: Jesus does.
- 2:10Ron Meyers: It was August of 2005.
- 2:13Ron Meyers: At the time I was the general manager of a Christian radio station on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
- 2:19Ron Meyers: I had only been the manager for about 16 months.
- 2:22Ron Meyers: On Saturday, August 27th, I was in Mobile, Alabama working with the media team at a Promise Keepers Rally.
- 2:30Ron Meyers: Then we started hearing the weather reports.
- 2:33Ron Meyers: There was a storm in the Gulf.
- 2:35Ron Meyers: Her name, Katrina.
- 2:36Ron Meyers: And the people from Louisiana and Mississippi were encouraged to leave and head home.
- 2:43Ron Meyers: So I was one of them.
- 2:44Ron Meyers: I called my wife and told her to take the kids and the pets and head north to Meridian to stay with her sister.
- 2:52Ron Meyers: Now, my plan was a little different.
- 2:54Ron Meyers: I had a hotel room there in Mobile, but I was going to go home and stay at the house.
- 3:00Ron Meyers: After all, I managed a radio station, and if the storm knocked us off the air, somebody needed to be there to get us back up.
- 3:07Ron Meyers: Now that made sense to me, but friends, that quiet little voice inside of me kept telling me, almost yelling at me, not to stay at my house and don't cancel the hotel room.
- 3:19Ron Meyers: So I didn't.
- 3:20Ron Meyers: I changed my plans and decided I would go home, get some supplies, and come back to the hotel room.
- 3:27Ron Meyers: Now looking back, that decision I believed saved my life.
- 3:32Ron Meyers: One of the lessons life has taught me is that sometimes God's protection doesn't look like protection when it's happening.
- 3:40Ron Meyers: Sometimes it looks like a changed plan, a closed door, a delay, an interruption.
- 3:46Ron Meyers: We get frustrated because things aren't going according to our plan, but we don't know what God knows.
- 3:53Ron Meyers: So don't judge God's faithfulness by what you can see today.
- 3:59Ron Meyers: You don't have enough information yet.
- 4:03Ron Meyers: After Katrina passed, I started trying to get back to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
- 4:07Ron Meyers: Law enforcement was telling people not to go in.
- 4:11Ron Meyers: Fortunately, I had media credentials.
- 4:14Ron Meyers: And what I saw when I finally got through, I'll never forget.
- 4:18Ron Meyers: It looked like a war zone.
- 4:21Ron Meyers: The Mississippi Gulf Coast I knew had been ripped apart.
- 4:24Ron Meyers: I had to park several blocks from my house, and as I walked, I noticed something lying among the debris.
- 4:31Ron Meyers: It was a photograph.
- 4:33Ron Meyers: A mother and a child having a picnic, just an ordinary family picture.
- 4:38Ron Meyers: A happy moment, a memory.
- 4:40Ron Meyers: I picked it up, and one thought went through my mind.
- 4:44Ron Meyers: Did they survive?
- 4:46Ron Meyers: I don't know who they were.
- 4:48Ron Meyers: I didn't know where that photograph came from.
- 4:50Ron Meyers: But standing there holding somebody else's memory made the devastation personal.
- 4:56Ron Meyers: Hurricanes don't just destroy buildings, they scatter pieces of people's lives.
- 5:02Ron Meyers: I continued toward my house, and my neighbor Kenny saw me and said, Hey Ron, it's terrible.
- 5:08Ron Meyers: Well I walked up my driveway to the front door, and for some crazy reason I tried my key.
- 5:15Ron Meyers: I don't know why there wasn't much left to unlock.
- 5:19Ron Meyers: I finally kicked the door down, and mud was everywhere.
- 5:23Ron Meyers: The refrigerator was upside down, the French doors were gone, and there was a water line about eight feet high inside our home.
- 5:30Ron Meyers: Eight feet.
- 5:32Ron Meyers: We had lost practically everything.
- 5:35Ron Meyers: And in that moment, friends, I cried.
- 5:39Ron Meyers: At that moment, I wasn't the radio guy.
- 5:42Ron Meyers: I wasn't the promoter.
- 5:43Ron Meyers: I wasn't the guy who was supposed to have an answer.
- 5:47Ron Meyers: I was just a man standing all alone in the wreckage of his home.
- 5:53Ron Meyers: But right in the middle of the destruction, I saw something I will never forget.
- 5:59Ron Meyers: On our kitchen table was a bowl of Cheerios.
- 6:03Ron Meyers: And somehow it was dry.
- 6:06Ron Meyers: The water had apparently lifted the table and put it back down.
- 6:10Ron Meyers: Now I'm not going to build a theology around a bowl of Cheerios, but I'll tell you what it did.
- 6:16Ron Meyers: It made me stop.
- 6:18Ron Meyers: In the middle of complete chaos, sometimes there are little things that make you wonder.
- 6:24Ron Meyers: So I gathered whatever clothes I could salvage.
- 6:27Ron Meyers: They were muddy and soaked.
- 6:30Ron Meyers: And I decided I had to go back to Mobile.
- 6:33Ron Meyers: I needed to find a laundromat and get a prepaid phone because there was no communication on the coast.
- 6:40Ron Meyers: I still hadn't talked to my wife in Meridian.
- 6:42Ron Meyers: It had been a few days.
- 6:44Ron Meyers: So I went back to Mobile.
- 6:46Ron Meyers: I bought a prepaid phone so I could finally call my wife.
- 6:50Ron Meyers: And what a conversation that was.
- 6:52Ron Meyers: Then I found a laundromat.
- 6:55Ron Meyers: And there I sat watching my muddy clothes go around and around in that washing machine.
- 7:01Ron Meyers: Everything in my life felt like it had been thrown into the same violent spin.
- 7:08Ron Meyers: But I knew three things.
- 7:10Ron Meyers: I was alive, my family was alive, and Jesus was still Jesus.
- 7:17Ron Meyers: Sometimes faith looks like sitting in a laundromat with what you've salvaged in a basket and saying, Jesus, I don't know what happens next, but I'm still here.
- 7:30Ron Meyers: There was another kind of loss that is even harder to explain.
- 7:34Ron Meyers: Have you ever thought about how many memories are attached to places?
- 7:38Ron Meyers: You know, weddings, graduations, birthdays, family reunions, restaurants where you celebrated, places where you laughed with friends, homes where children grew up.
- 7:49Ron Meyers: Driving along the beach after Katrina was very difficult for me.
- 7:54Ron Meyers: I'd look for a familiar place connected to some beautiful memory, and it wasn't there.
- 8:01Ron Meyers: Sometimes there was nothing but a foundation.
- 8:04Ron Meyers: The building was gone, the trees were gone, and sometimes the entire neighborhood was gone.
- 8:12Ron Meyers: But if Katrina taught me something, it taught me that losing the place that's special to you doesn't mean you lose the memory.
- 8:20Ron Meyers: A storm can take a building, it can't take the birthday you celebrated there.
- 8:24Ron Meyers: It can't take the wedding, it can't take the laughter, it can't take the love.
- 8:29Ron Meyers: Some things are stored somewhere no hurricane can reach.
- 8:34Ron Meyers: Well, eventually I made it back to the radio station.
- 8:37Ron Meyers: And here's something incredible.
- 8:40Ron Meyers: The building, a little White House built in the 50s, had survived.
- 8:46Ron Meyers: And after the most destructive hurricane to ever hit our area, we only lost one shingle.
- 8:53Ron Meyers: One.
- 8:54Ron Meyers: Engineers from Tupelo were already on site working to get us broadcasting on generator power.
- 9:01Ron Meyers: And suddenly that little Christian radio station became much more than a radio station.
- 9:07Ron Meyers: It became a gathering place.
- 9:10Ron Meyers: People slept on the floors.
- 9:12Ron Meyers: We cooked breakfast outside.
- 9:14Ron Meyers: Supplies came in, teams went out.
- 9:17Ron Meyers: People would tell us what they needed, and we would put that over the radio.
- 9:23Ron Meyers: And these wonderful Gulf Coast people responded.
- 9:26Ron Meyers: Our station's theme was the light of the Gulf Coast.
- 9:31Ron Meyers: After Katrina, those words meant something completely different.
- 9:37Ron Meyers: Because when everything around you was dark, light matters.
- 9:43Ron Meyers: Then a man came in to my office and said something that changed the way I looked at my past.
- 9:50Ron Meyers: He started talking about everything that I had done before becoming the manager of the radio station.
- 9:57Ron Meyers: Promotions, events, organizing people, public relations, solving problems, getting things done.
- 10:04Ron Meyers: And basically he said, Ron, God has been training you for this time in your life.
- 10:11Ron Meyers: Wow.
- 10:12Ron Meyers: I never thought about it that way.
- 10:14Ron Meyers: All those years of promoting, producing events, all the pressure, all the problems, all the times when something went wrong and I had to figure it out.
- 10:23Ron Meyers: What if that wasn't just my past?
- 10:26Ron Meyers: What if it was preparation?
- 10:29Ron Meyers: I call it God's boot camp.
- 10:31Ron Meyers: You may be looking at something in your past right now and thinking, what a waste.
- 10:36Ron Meyers: Maybe it wasn't.
- 10:38Ron Meyers: Maybe God will use something you learned 10 years ago for something you can't even see today.
- 10:43Ron Meyers: I have discovered that some lessons don't make sense while you are learning them.
- 10:48Ron Meyers: They make sense when you finally need them.
- 10:51Ron Meyers: What looks like punishment today may become preparation for tomorrow.
- 10:57Ron Meyers: So don't prejudge your circumstances.
- 11:00Ron Meyers: God can use all of it.
- 11:02Ron Meyers: One day after Katrina, I went to my home church, Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport for a hot meal.
- 11:09Ron Meyers: And friends, there was a line out the door.
- 11:11Ron Meyers: And in that line were bank presidents, lawyers, teachers, construction workers, even a Mississippi Supreme Court judge.
- 11:18Ron Meyers: People with money, people without money, people with impressive titles.
- 11:22Ron Meyers: Katrina didn't care.
- 11:24Ron Meyers: Everybody needed the same thing.
- 11:27Ron Meyers: A hot meal.
- 11:28Ron Meyers: Hurricane Katrina was the great equalizer.
- 11:32Ron Meyers: We spend an awful lot of our lives worrying about things that don't matter nearly as much as we think they do.
- 11:40Ron Meyers: Titles, status, possessions, who's important, who has more.
- 11:44Ron Meyers: Then life happens.
- 11:46Ron Meyers: And suddenly we remember we're all human.
- 11:49Ron Meyers: We all need grace.
- 11:50Ron Meyers: We all need each other.
- 11:52Ron Meyers: And every one of us needs Jesus.
- 11:55Ron Meyers: And then something beautiful started happening along the Gulf Coast and into New Orleans.
- 12:02Ron Meyers: People began arriving from all over America.
- 12:06Ron Meyers: Not an army carrying weapons, an army carrying food, water, tools, supplies, campers, and love.
- 12:14Ron Meyers: People told me.
- 12:15Ron Meyers: They were in their kitchen cooking or watching TV and they felt God nudging them.
- 12:21Ron Meyers: Go help my children.
- 12:23Ron Meyers: And they came and they came and they came.
- 12:27Ron Meyers: One ministry brought camper after camper to the Gulf Coast.
- 12:31Ron Meyers: More than 20 were eventually given to ministers and families who needed somewhere to live.
- 12:38Ron Meyers: A couple from Kentucky brought a camper from my family.
- 12:42Ron Meyers: They put it in our driveway and then they handed me the title.
- 12:45Ron Meyers: This is yours, Ron.
- 12:47Ron Meyers: Friends, I'll never forget that.
- 12:49Ron Meyers: The Bible tells us not to forget to show hospitality to strangers because some of us have entertained angels without knowing it.
- 12:59Ron Meyers: Well, I don't know who all those people were who came to the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Katrina, but I'll tell you what I do believe.
- 13:08Ron Meyers: I believe God sent us a host of angels.
- 13:12Ron Meyers: Some drove pickup trucks, some pulled campers, some carried cases of water, some cooked meals, some cleared debris, some prayed, some hugged people who had nothing left.
- 13:25Ron Meyers: They didn't have wings that I could see, but they showed up.
- 13:31Ron Meyers: It was Jesus with work gloves on, Jesus behind the wheel of a truck.
- 13:36Ron Meyers: Jesus handing somebody a bottle of water.
- 13:41Ron Meyers: Friends, God is so good that sometimes when you go through a storm, He sends people right into the middle of it with you.
- 13:50Ron Meyers: And don't get so focused looking for a miracle that you miss the person God just sent to your door.
- 13:57Ron Meyers: Here's something I want you to understand.
- 14:00Ron Meyers: While all of this was happening, I was hurting too.
- 14:04Ron Meyers: My home was destroyed, my family was displaced.
- 14:07Ron Meyers: I was rebuilding a radio station while trying to rebuild my own life.
- 14:12Ron Meyers: But every day I went on the air, I had to give people hope.
- 14:16Ron Meyers: I had to encourage them.
- 14:17Ron Meyers: I had to tell them we're going to get through this.
- 14:20Ron Meyers: And you know something, my friend?
- 14:22Ron Meyers: A lot of those days, I was actually talking to myself.
- 14:26Ron Meyers: I needed to hear it too.
- 14:28Ron Meyers: That's another lesson Katrina taught me.
- 14:30Ron Meyers: You can be hurting and still be useful.
- 14:33Ron Meyers: You don't have to have everything figured out before God can use you.
- 14:38Ron Meyers: You don't have to be completely healed before you can encourage somebody else.
- 14:43Ron Meyers: Helping somebody through their storm gives you the strength to keep walking through yours.
- 14:50Ron Meyers: Now, during the aftermath, I said something on the radio that shocks some people.
- 14:54Ron Meyers: I said, I think one day we may thank God for Katrina.
- 14:58Ron Meyers: Now listen carefully, I wasn't thanking God that people died or thanking God that homes were destroyed.
- 15:04Ron Meyers: And I wasn't thanking God for suffering.
- 15:06Ron Meyers: What I meant was that there may be a day that we can look back and recognize what surviving that storm produced in us resilience, compassion, courage, perspective, faith.
- 15:19Ron Meyers: We discovered we could lose almost everything and still get up tomorrow morning.
- 15:25Ron Meyers: We discovered possessions can disappear, but purpose doesn't have to.
- 15:31Ron Meyers: We discovered life can change overnight, but Jesus doesn't.
- 15:37Ron Meyers: Twenty years later, I have the evidence.
- 15:40Ron Meyers: Evidence that tells me, Ron, you have been through storms before.
- 15:47Ron Meyers: God was there then and he will be there again.
- 15:51Ron Meyers: That's why I asked you at the beginning of the show, what are you believing when everything around you looks destroyed or in shambles?
- 16:00Ron Meyers: Because circumstances will talk to you, fear will talk to you, your bank account will talk to you, the doctor's report will talk to you, the empty chair will talk to you, the termination letter will talk to you, but those things don't get to decide what you believe.
- 16:15Ron Meyers: Here's something from my signature series on belief that I want you to remember.
- 16:22Ron Meyers: I cannot see what God is doing is not the same thing as God is not doing anything.
- 16:31Ron Meyers: That's a biblical optimism.
- 16:33Ron Meyers: Biblical optimism doesn't pretend everything is wonderful.
- 16:38Ron Meyers: Realism says this is difficult.
- 16:41Ron Meyers: Belief says, okay, what's my next step?
- 16:44Ron Meyers: What can I learn?
- 16:45Ron Meyers: Who can I talk to?
- 16:46Ron Meyers: What haven't I tried?
- 16:47Ron Meyers: What is my next move?
- 16:49Ron Meyers: And most importantly, Jesus, what are you trying to show me?
- 16:55Ron Meyers: So, friends, don't let a temporary circumstance become a permanent belief.
- 17:01Ron Meyers: Don't let yesterday right tomorrow, and don't let fear make decisions that belong to faith.
- 17:09Ron Meyers: Now let me fast forward 20 years, because there's another part of this story I couldn't have possibly known in 2005.
- 17:17Ron Meyers: Remember that little White House, my little safety net, my light of the Gulf Coast job, the radio station that survived Katrina, the place where we broadcast hope, where supplies were coordinated, where so much ministry happened.
- 17:35Ron Meyers: Well, in July of 2025, American Family Radio practically gave me that little White House.
- 17:43Ron Meyers: Think about that.
- 17:45Ron Meyers: Twenty years later.
- 17:47Ron Meyers: Today, those are my offices.
- 17:49Ron Meyers: I record my podcast and radio show there.
- 17:52Ron Meyers: It's also where I work on my Christmas City gift show.
- 17:55Ron Meyers: Ministry, radio, podcasting, promotions, Christmas City, so many pieces of my life somehow came full circle right back to this beautiful little white house I'm in right now.
- 18:10Ron Meyers: If you had told me while I was sitting in that mobile laundromat with all my muddy clothes, I wouldn't have believed you.
- 18:17Ron Meyers: If you had told me while I was standing in eight feet of flood damage, I couldn't have imagined it.
- 18:23Ron Meyers: But that's the point.
- 18:24Ron Meyers: Only God knew.
- 18:25Ron Meyers: That's why I don't want you to make a permanent judgment about your life based on what it looks like today.
- 18:33Ron Meyers: You don't know what God knows.
- 18:36Ron Meyers: Sometimes you have to live long enough to look backward and finally understand what you could never see looking forward.
- 18:45Ron Meyers: So here's Ron's next step for this week.
- 18:49Ron Meyers: I want you to identify your Katrina.
- 18:51Ron Meyers: What's the storm you're facing right now?
- 18:54Ron Meyers: Name it.
- 18:54Ron Meyers: Don't pretend it doesn't exist.
- 18:57Ron Meyers: Then have a conversation with Jesus.
- 18:59Ron Meyers: No fancy prayer, just talk.
- 19:01Ron Meyers: Tell him you're angry, tell him you're scared, tell him you're confused.
- 19:05Ron Meyers: Tell him, Jesus, I don't know what to do.
- 19:09Ron Meyers: Then ask him one question.
- 19:11Ron Meyers: Jesus, what's my next step?
- 19:14Ron Meyers: Not how is this whole story going to end?
- 19:17Ron Meyers: Just what's my next step?
- 19:20Ron Meyers: And when you see it, take it.
- 19:22Ron Meyers: Because belief requires movement.
- 19:26Ron Meyers: Believe, move, learn, adjust, and believe again.
- 19:30Ron Meyers: My friends, I'm going to take a short break, and when I return, I want to talk directly to the person who's standing in the middle of a storm right now.
- 19:38Ron Meyers: Because when you're standing in the wreckage, the chaos, it's almost impossible to imagine that one day you may look back and see something you simply cannot see today.
- 19:49Ron Meyers: If that's you, don't go anywhere.
- 19:51Ron Meyers: I'll be right back.
- 19:53Announcer: You're listening to Get the Hell Out of Your Life with your host, Ron Myers.
- 19:58Announcer: Real stories, real struggles, and real hope.
- 20:04SPEAKER_06: Here's a refreshing word just for you today.
- 20:06SPEAKER_06: It comes from the book of Hebrews, chapter 13, verse 8.
- 20:10SPEAKER_06: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
- 20:16SPEAKER_06: Be refreshed today.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Hi, this is Candy Anderson Ferris, bringing you a message of hope.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: One of my favorite verses that speaks to God's forgiveness is found in Romans.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: Because through Jesus Christ, the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: No matter what you've done, Jesus died for you.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: As his child, you and I are forgiven.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: There was a precious example, one of those battle preach moments that happened several years ago when my twin grandbabies were just little itsy bitsy things.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Bodhi had hit his sister Tegan, and she just stood him up, put his face in her hands, and said, Look at me.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: What did you do to me?
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: She said again, what did you do to me?
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: And he said, I hit you.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: And she said, That's right.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Now are you sorry?
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: And he said, Yes.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: And at that very moment, she took him in her arms, wrapped him up, and said, I forgive you.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: While we were yet sinners, Christ Jesus died for us.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: His grace, his forgiveness, his mercy is unfailing.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: He knew we were sinners.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: He knew we were depraved people.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: But yet he died for us and he takes us in his arms and he wraps us up in his precious grace.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and he is just to forgive us of all our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Remember today, you are forgiven.
- 22:36SPEAKER_03: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: Get on your knees and cry out to the Lord.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: He hears you right where you are.
- 22:42Announcer: How to get the hell out of your life?
- 22:43Announcer: Well, yeah, replace it with Jesus.
- 22:45Announcer: We gotta be born again, born of the Spirit, and that's by trusting Jesus Christ, turning from our sins and trusting Jesus.
- 22:50Announcer: How do you get the hell out of your life?
- 22:52Announcer: Oh gosh.
- 22:53Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 22:54Ron Meyers: Jesus.
- 22:54Ron Meyers: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
- 22:57Ron Meyers: Welcome back, my friends.
- 22:59Ron Meyers: And before we go, I want to talk to the person who feels like life has just knocked the wind out of you.
- 23:05Ron Meyers: Maybe your Katrina isn't a hurricane.
- 23:08Ron Meyers: Maybe it's a diagnosis, a divorce, a death, a termination, a financial disaster, a dream that didn't happen.
- 23:16Ron Meyers: And right now, you're looking at the wreckage thinking, how can anything good possibly come from this?
- 23:23Ron Meyers: Now I don't know how your story will unfold.
- 23:26Ron Meyers: I can't promise when the circumstances will change, but I can tell you what my experiences have taught me.
- 23:34Ron Meyers: Don't write the ending while you're still in the middle of the storm.
- 23:39Ron Meyers: Twenty years ago, I couldn't see today.
- 23:42Ron Meyers: I couldn't see that little white house becoming mine.
- 23:45Ron Meyers: I couldn't see myself sitting there years later recording a podcast and radio show that goes around the world.
- 23:52Ron Meyers: I couldn't see the full circle.
- 23:54Ron Meyers: But God could.
- 23:55Ron Meyers: So don't prejudge the middle of your story, my friend.
- 23:58Ron Meyers: Right now, all you may see is mud, but God sees farther than you do.
- 24:04Ron Meyers: And here's where I've landed after all these years.
- 24:08Ron Meyers: When you have Jesus, you have everything you ultimately need.
- 24:14Ron Meyers: You are accepted, you are forgiven, you are cleansed, you belong.
- 24:19Ron Meyers: He lives in you, he's with you twenty-four hours a day.
- 24:23Ron Meyers: He's not going to divorce you, he's not going to kick you out of the family, he's not going to wake up tomorrow and decide he's finished with you.
- 24:33Ron Meyers: No, Jesus is your anchor, he's your rock.
- 24:37Ron Meyers: And when the storm comes, grab onto that rock.
- 24:40Ron Meyers: Have those conversations with Jesus every day, especially when you wake up in the morning.
- 24:45Ron Meyers: And before the world gets your attention, give Jesus yours.
- 24:49Ron Meyers: And when you can't understand what he's doing, remind yourself, well, I can't see what God is doing.
- 24:56Ron Meyers: It's not the same thing though as God is not doing anything.
- 25:00Ron Meyers: My friend, storms pass, lives get rebuilt, scars become stories, stories become testimonies, and testimonies give somebody else the courage to believe.
- 25:11Ron Meyers: If God brought them through it, he can bring me through it too.
- 25:16Ron Meyers: That's why I tell my story.
- 25:18Ron Meyers: I will be back next week with another grace-filled episode of Get the Hell Out of Your Life available wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 25:28Ron Meyers: And remember this: you were created on purpose for a purpose by a God who loves you more than you can imagine.
- 25:36Ron Meyers: Now go live like you believe it.
- 25:40Ron Meyers: And one final thought from a guy who has lived through a lady named Katrina.
- 25:45Ron Meyers: The storm may change your life, but with Jesus, the storm doesn't get to write the ending.
