- 0:04Speaker 1: one wash.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Out Feeling good today? Do tell us why? Ninety seven
- 0:08Speaker 2: point one wash FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning
- 0:11Speaker 2: at eight six, six, nine two seven forty three sixty one.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Or if you're listening this early, signed into your iHeart
- 0:17Speaker 2: app that red microphone, tap it and send us a
- 0:19Speaker 2: quick voice note that'll come to us right here in
- 0:21Speaker 2: the studio unedited. Just your pure thoughts that you spew
- 0:25Speaker 2: into your phone's microphone. Always love hearing why you are
- 0:29Speaker 2: feeling some joy as we get a brand new day started.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's good to feel that joy because it is a
- 0:34Speaker 2: brand new day. So, Chili, why are you feeling good?
- 0:37Speaker 3: Crisis averted?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Wow, what's wrong?
- 0:39Speaker 3: So yesterday afternoon we noticed that the upstairs AC stopped
- 0:43Speaker 3: working and we have one of those Nest smart thermostats
- 0:46Speaker 3: uh huh, and it was giving an error message. My
- 0:49Speaker 3: husband tried to call in the service. We couldn't get
- 0:51Speaker 3: through to anybody. So I decided, I feel very proud
- 0:55Speaker 3: of this to remove it from the wall. Just pull
- 0:58Speaker 3: it out of the wall, and I thought, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 3: maybe it just needs to be recharged because it has
- 1:02Speaker 3: a little us like a charger thing in the back
- 1:05Speaker 3: of the actual thermostat.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, but it doesn't get power from the wall.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Mine does.
- 1:11Speaker 3: It's supposed to. Oh, but there was some sort of
- 1:14Speaker 3: a miscommunication. What could it hurt? So we charged it,
- 1:17Speaker 3: put it back on, boom ac came back.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Baby. That's weird. Yeah, very odd. I no wonder why
- 1:25Speaker 2: that that is that happened. You know what.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I'm sure we still have to get somebody to come
- 1:29Speaker 3: and take a little bit. But at the very least,
- 1:32Speaker 3: at the very least, at.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Least it didn't get steamy hot going into one hundred degrees.
- 1:36Speaker 3: It was eighty three degrees right before I was able
- 1:40Speaker 3: to fix it, because I wouldn't be able to sleep upstairs.
- 1:43Speaker 2: No, because it connects to your WiFi and it gives
- 1:46Speaker 2: you updates over the Wi Fi and all of that stuff.
- 1:49Speaker 2: That's something, you know something, But you know what, sometimes
- 1:52Speaker 2: you just have to pull something off the wall. It's
- 1:55Speaker 2: just like with computers. Sometimes you've got to unplug them,
- 1:58Speaker 2: count to twenty, then plug them back in. Yeah, that
- 2:01Speaker 2: seems to be the one thing everybody forgets and then
- 2:04Speaker 2: they go into crisis mode and they're like, did you
- 2:06Speaker 2: try turning it off, rebooting.
- 2:08Speaker 3: It No, Oh, but it works.
- 2:10Speaker 2: How are you feeling I'm feeling great because I was
- 2:12Speaker 2: doing the math on the All Star Game that the
- 2:14Speaker 2: American League won. Do you realize how many former current
- 2:18Speaker 2: and former Nationals appeared in the twenty twenty six Major
- 2:22Speaker 2: League All Star Game? It might as well have been
- 2:24Speaker 2: the Gnats taking on whomever. Yeah, Bryce Harper, Won Soto,
- 2:29Speaker 2: Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, Max Schurzer, and then again the
- 2:33Speaker 2: current trio of Nats cj Abrams, James Woods, James Wood
- 2:38Speaker 2: from Only Maryland, and Foster Griffin. They all played in
- 2:42Speaker 2: the All Star Game. I mean like it tells you
- 2:44Speaker 2: a little bit of something about the Nationals and their
- 2:46Speaker 2: farm system. I'm just saying, so, you know what, Nats,
- 2:49Speaker 2: you have a lot to feel good about, especially since
- 2:52Speaker 2: the All Star Game was just another game for your
- 2:55Speaker 2: Washington Nationals, even though they had to suit up against
- 2:58Speaker 2: some x Nats have these things. Ah, what a week.
- 3:02Speaker 2: If you're a baseball fan. The Midsommer Classic and the
- 3:04Speaker 2: All Star Break is a thing. It's ninety seven point
- 3:07Speaker 2: one wash FM orre Tobe and Chilly in the Morning
- 3:09Speaker 2: Coming up. Top stories at the top of the hour,
- 3:11Speaker 2: the news hang out.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Being a DC sports fan is getting more expensive. I'll
- 3:17Speaker 3: break it all down for you, coming.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Up top stories. Top of the hour.
- 3:24Speaker 3: The President says he is not looking to negotiate with
- 3:27Speaker 3: Iran right now and warns that things could get really
- 3:30Speaker 3: bad for the country next week. Meanwhile, he's set to
- 3:33Speaker 3: address the nation this evening. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said
- 3:37Speaker 3: he's adding testosterone screamings to troops regular health checkups. Service
- 3:42Speaker 3: members thirty and older will be tested, with younger troops
- 3:46Speaker 3: able to opt in. There were no major injuries after
- 3:49Speaker 3: a car crashed into one of three school buses in
- 3:52Speaker 3: Fokier County yesterday. Eight kids an adult were taken to
- 3:55Speaker 3: the hospital and treated but released. Prince George's County is
- 3:59Speaker 3: cracking down on neglected properties. The county council just doubled
- 4:03Speaker 3: the first fine for maintenance violations to two thousand dollars,
- 4:06Speaker 3: and then after that owners can be hit with up
- 4:09Speaker 3: to five thousand dollars a day. Maryland's tax free week
- 4:13Speaker 3: for back to school shopping is going to be running
- 4:16Speaker 3: August ninth through the fifteenth. Clothing and shoes under one
- 4:19Speaker 3: hundred dollars are exempt, along with the first forty dollars
- 4:23Speaker 3: of a backpack purchase. You know, being a DC sports
- 4:27Speaker 3: fan is just getting more expensive. A family of four
- 4:30Speaker 3: at an NFL game now runs about six hundred dollars,
- 4:33Speaker 3: and following every game means juggling up to ten streaming
- 4:36Speaker 3: subscriptions that cost nearly one thousand dollars a year. So
- 4:40Speaker 3: fans are saying they're frustrated by the cost and clutter.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And according to a recent survey, half of Americans say
- 4:47Speaker 3: they're changing their wellness routines and most are going simpler,
- 4:52Speaker 3: focusing on sleep, movement, and nutrition instead of chasing the
- 4:56Speaker 3: latest optimization trend. Forecast today, hot and humid, a chance
- 5:00Speaker 3: of an isolated thunderstorm this evening. Hi's around ninety six
- 5:04Speaker 3: right now, seventy seven in Alexandria.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And now you know that's the news. With Toby and
- 5:09Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning, you get top stories at the
- 5:11Speaker 2: top of the hour and coming up in just a
- 5:13Speaker 2: few minutes, we want to talk about how you're doing today,
- 5:16Speaker 2: and we want to share something with you that might
- 5:18Speaker 2: just be the very thing you need to make it
- 5:20Speaker 2: through this Thursday, almost Friday. This week, it is your
- 5:24Speaker 2: morning mindset and in just minutes, we hope that it
- 5:27Speaker 2: helps you to prepare to take on the day. Washington's
- 5:31Speaker 2: variety from the eighties, nineties and today it is ninety
- 5:34Speaker 2: seven point one WASHCHEFM. You got Toby and Chile in
- 5:36Speaker 2: the morning. Thanks for waking up with us as we
- 5:38Speaker 2: talk about you right now.
- 5:40Speaker 3: Well specifically your headspace. Are you in a good place
- 5:44Speaker 3: emotionally well, if not, we're here to help you with
- 5:47Speaker 3: a quote to get you into a better morning mindset.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Check this out from Helen Keller. Yes, that's right that
- 5:51Speaker 2: Helen Keller from History. Optimism, Helen Keller says, is the
- 5:57Speaker 2: faith that leads to achievement. Amism is the faith that
- 6:02Speaker 2: leads to achievement. You might be driving into work thinking
- 6:07Speaker 2: to yourself, Man, I'm just I'm so over this. I'm
- 6:10Speaker 2: so over whatever I'm doing in life. Life has just
- 6:13Speaker 2: not been my friend. I need a change. Maybe you
- 6:16Speaker 2: don't want to get out of bed this morning because
- 6:18Speaker 2: you're feeling the same way. Well, listen, here's the thing
- 6:21Speaker 2: about optimism. It doesn't ignore reality. It's the belief. Optimism
- 6:26Speaker 2: is the belief that tomorrow can be better than today.
- 6:29Speaker 2: So embrace the optimism that faith that leads to achievement,
- 6:34Speaker 2: and see what optimism can do for you today. I
- 6:38Speaker 2: have a feeling it'll be a good thing. Ellen Keller,
- 6:41Speaker 2: with your morning mindset, got something to share with the class.
- 6:43Speaker 2: You know where to find us on the Toby and
- 6:44Speaker 2: chillipage at washfm dot com. And if you need to
- 6:47Speaker 2: read that again, maybe you want to hear it, go
- 6:49Speaker 2: find us on Facebook. Install all of these things. It'll
- 6:52Speaker 2: be right there in the story for you. In the meantime,
- 6:56Speaker 2: hang out because next with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 6:58Speaker 3: New study finds it staying up late could lead to
- 7:01Speaker 3: nearly nine pounds of weight gain every year. So we've
- 7:05Speaker 3: got to know how late are you staying up and
- 7:07Speaker 3: what exactly are you doing?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Eight sixty six ninety seven forty three sixty you one
- 7:11Speaker 2: If you want to jump into the conversation right now
- 7:13Speaker 2: to me, that explains it and we'll get into more
- 7:16Speaker 2: details coming up. Eight six six nine two seven forty
- 7:19Speaker 2: three sixty one. It's the number. You can also tap
- 7:21Speaker 2: talk back, jump into this conversation because we need to
- 7:24Speaker 2: know are you and nine out do you stay up late?
- 7:27Speaker 2: If you do, there's consequences. Let's talk with Toby and
- 7:30Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one. Watch
- 7:33Speaker 2: up them, look at you.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Not surprises that losing sleep can lead to weight gain,
- 7:37Speaker 3: but just how much may shock you. So even staying
- 7:39Speaker 3: up ninety minutes later than normal, so losing an hour
- 7:42Speaker 3: and a half of sleep at night could mean nearly
- 7:46Speaker 3: nine pounds of weight gain in a year, sounds about right.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I mean that's not okay. And anybody who's listening this early,
- 7:55Speaker 3: we have a feeling that you may have a tendency
- 7:57Speaker 3: to go to bed later then you probably should. But
- 8:00Speaker 3: what is it that keeps you up at night? Like
- 8:02Speaker 3: for me, it's not like I'm being distracted by anything.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I legit by the time dinner's over and I'm helping
- 8:08Speaker 3: my son get ready for this, that and the other thing.
- 8:10Speaker 3: It's just it's too much I have to do.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I look at it in terms of when I leave
- 8:16Speaker 2: here the office in the afternoon, and it's anywhere between
- 8:19Speaker 2: eleven and one, and then I look at the clock
- 8:22Speaker 2: when I get home and I'm like, okay, I need
- 8:25Speaker 2: to be in bed by eight fifteen, eight thirty. That
- 8:28Speaker 2: leaves me x amount of time to do any other
- 8:31Speaker 2: work that pops up, take care of life stuff, And
- 8:35Speaker 2: by the time I hit the bed, even if it's
- 8:37Speaker 2: eight thirty, my mind is still going and I'm not
- 8:40Speaker 2: going to fall asleep to like ten, ten thirty, maybe
- 8:43Speaker 2: even later. That is bad. I just can't stand this
- 8:46Speaker 2: news this morning because I fundamentally embody it and it's
- 8:50Speaker 2: just frustrating. Anybody else share this frustration. You know where
- 8:53Speaker 2: we are. Let's start with you, Thomas. Thank you for
- 8:55Speaker 2: waking up with us in only today. What's on your mind?
- 8:58Speaker 3: I tend to stay up pretty long late, like two
- 9:00Speaker 3: thirty in the morning. What's causing this?
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, because that's wake up time for some of us.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 9:06Speaker 5: I just like staying up streaming shows and playing games
- 9:09Speaker 5: on my phone.
- 9:10Speaker 4: It's relaxing.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I agree with that relaxing part.
- 9:13Speaker 3: However, you'll pay for it in the morning when you're
- 9:16Speaker 3: exhausted and.
- 9:17Speaker 2: The alarm starts going off and you're like, wait a minute,
- 9:19Speaker 2: did I sleep? Thank you, sir, Leslie, Thank you for
- 9:22Speaker 2: listening to us in Fairfax. What's up?
- 9:24Speaker 5: I'm usually up until around midnight, just scrolling my phone
- 9:28Speaker 5: and telling myself one more video for about an hour.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yes, then that hour turns to two, which then turns
- 9:35Speaker 3: to three.
- 9:36Speaker 2: And then the next thing you know, you're a zombie.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Bad work. Thanks for jumping in this morning and try
- 9:42Speaker 2: to get some sleep, or Toby, you're chilly in the
- 9:44Speaker 2: morning at ninety seven point one Watcheff. Then with Top
- 9:46Speaker 2: Stories at the top of the hour, coming up, what's
- 9:48Speaker 2: going on.
- 9:49Speaker 3: One of bwi's two commercial runways is going to close
- 9:52Speaker 3: next week for about three months. I've got all the
- 9:55Speaker 3: details for your travels.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You could do the adult thing with an extra thousand
- 10:00Speaker 2: and you know, get some of those window treatments, or
- 10:03Speaker 2: you could do the thing you want to do and
- 10:05Speaker 2: go have a weekend get away to Charlottesville overnight in
- 10:10Speaker 2: Wine Country. Either or you've got a shot at one
- 10:13Speaker 2: thousand dollars with ninety seven point one washuf Ben, Toby
- 10:16Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning. That shot happens later today.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Nine to ten. This morning, you get a keyword for
- 10:21Speaker 3: our summertime cash and when you hear it, enter it
- 10:24Speaker 3: at WASHFM dot com for a chance at that grand.

- 10:33Speaker 4: Coming up on Top Stories top of the.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Hour, The stage has been set for this Sunday's World
- 10:39Speaker 3: Cup Final. I've got the latest on that story and
- 10:42Speaker 3: others on the way with Toby and Chilly in the
- 10:45Speaker 3: morning on ninety seven point one wash FF.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 10:53Speaker 3: The President says he is not negotiating with Iran right now,
- 10:57Speaker 3: calling the regime evil and blaming its dellation for stalling
- 11:01Speaker 3: a deal. Argentina beat England two to one and yesterday's
- 11:04Speaker 3: semi finals, sending them back to the World Cup Final
- 11:07Speaker 3: for a second straight time. They'll be facing Spain this Sunday.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Neighbours near Upper Marlborough are demanding a traffic signal after
- 11:16Speaker 3: three people died Sunday at Route three oh one and
- 11:19Speaker 3: Governor's Park Lane. That's an intersection they say has been
- 11:22Speaker 3: dangerous for years. The state says that design work is
- 11:25Speaker 3: nearly done, with construction expected to start by the end
- 11:28Speaker 3: of the year. Montgomery County residents testified this week in
- 11:32Speaker 3: support of a bill that will crack down on street
- 11:34Speaker 3: takeovers and illegal racing, which would let police seize vehicles
- 11:39Speaker 3: that are involved. A council work session is set for
- 11:43Speaker 3: October fifth. The Reflecting Pool's new Liner, which was once
- 11:47Speaker 3: called America's flag blue is now looking noticeably grayer after
- 11:53Speaker 3: they drained it, and the repair bill has now ballooned
- 11:56Speaker 3: from a million and a half dollars to more than
- 11:59Speaker 3: sixteen million dollars. One of BWY's two commercial runways will
- 12:04Speaker 3: close next week for eleven weeks as cruise start and
- 12:07Speaker 3: eighty four million dollar repaving project, but airport officials say
- 12:11Speaker 3: it should not be affecting flights coming in or out.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And former President Joe Biden is releasing a new memoir
- 12:18Speaker 3: called Promise Me America. It's coming out November seventeenth, right
- 12:22Speaker 3: after the midterm elections. The book will reflect on his presidency,
- 12:26Speaker 3: including his decision to end his twenty twenty four re
- 12:29Speaker 3: election campaign. Forecast for today, hot and humid, a chance
- 12:33Speaker 3: of an isolated storm this evening with highs around ninety
- 12:36Speaker 3: six right now seventy nine in Rockville.
- 12:39Speaker 2: And that's the news with Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 12:41Speaker 2: You can expect top stories at the top of the hour.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Here at ninety seven point one wasch FM and coming
- 12:46Speaker 2: up in just a few minutes. Have you ever trusted
- 12:48Speaker 2: some stranger with your pet? Apparently this happened to you.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Chiley and I understand you are kind of confused about why. Yeah,
- 13:00Speaker 2: well let's discuss eight six six, nine two seven forty
- 13:05Speaker 2: three sixty one talkbacks open too, because I know you
- 13:08Speaker 2: like to listen on your iHeart appter ninety seven point
- 13:10Speaker 2: one watch F M. Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So you were in New York and some stranger trusted
- 13:15Speaker 2: you with their dog.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Yeah, this happened more than one. So I was staying
- 13:19Speaker 3: in Brooklyn with my cousin and there are so many
- 13:21Speaker 3: cute little coffee shops and places to grab a bite
- 13:24Speaker 3: to eat, And while we would be sitting outside drinking
- 13:27Speaker 3: our coffee, inevitably somebody would walk by and see us
- 13:31Speaker 3: sitting there and say, hey, guys, do you mind watching
- 13:33Speaker 3: you know, my dog for a minute. I gotta go
- 13:34Speaker 3: grab some because you can't take the dog in sure.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And this would take sometimes anywhere between five and fifteen minutes,
- 13:40Speaker 3: depending how long the line was, and the whole time
- 13:43Speaker 3: I'm thinking I could never do this. I could never
- 13:47Speaker 3: entrust a total stranger with my dog Bella, not even
- 13:50Speaker 3: for a minute, because in my mind, she's so cute.
- 13:52Speaker 3: They'll dog knapper, you know what I mean. Like I
- 13:55Speaker 3: wouldn't do with my kid, Why would I do with
- 13:57Speaker 3: my dog?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Well, I think with the dog, it's a little bit differ.
- 14:00Speaker 3: You know.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I was thinking about this after we talked about it
- 14:02Speaker 2: yesterday off the air, and I know that I've been
- 14:04Speaker 2: asked to do this several times at the Starbucks by
- 14:07Speaker 2: my house. Yeah, for the same reason, because you know,
- 14:10Speaker 2: pets aren't allowed inside unless they're service animals, and most
- 14:12Speaker 2: people don't have service animals, and so you get asked
- 14:16Speaker 2: to do the right thing, and if you're a pet owner,
- 14:19Speaker 2: you just see it as kind of like a part
- 14:22Speaker 2: of the community responsibility. As a petal, I don't trust people,
- 14:26Speaker 2: that's a bigger problem.
- 14:27Speaker 3: But also, would you do it?
- 14:29Speaker 2: I have done it with your dog. Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 3: How I feel about my dog is how I feel
- 14:33Speaker 3: about my kid in many ways, and that I'm kind
- 14:36Speaker 3: of protective of that and I value her and I
- 14:38Speaker 3: feel like everybody else wants her too, And I would
- 14:42Speaker 3: be able to stop them, I'd be inside, I would
- 14:44Speaker 3: be able to see, I wouldn't be able to chase, I
- 14:46Speaker 3: wouldn't be able to know anything.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Some things you just have to like let them kind
- 14:50Speaker 2: of go. Because you're right, I do have trusble. You
- 14:52Speaker 2: have to like believe in the goodness of people, especially
- 14:55Speaker 2: pet owners, because pet owners are a different breed. You
- 14:59Speaker 2: just kind of have to trust.
- 15:00Speaker 3: You know, I'm not that pet parent.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Well maybe someday you will be. We're gonna keep you
- 15:06Speaker 2: in our thoughts in prayers.
- 15:07Speaker 3: And I don't know what it is about me that
- 15:08Speaker 3: you can trust me with your animal, but thanks.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Because you're good with pets. It's ninety seven point one. Washeef?
- 15:14Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning thoughts? You know where
- 15:16Speaker 2: to find us in the meantime, stay right there because next.
- 15:19Speaker 3: There is a cup of water that is selling for
- 15:23Speaker 3: twelve dollars and people are actually paying for it. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 3: there's something special about it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Though I don't know how special that water is twelve dollars.
- 15:34Speaker 2: We'll get into it. Who pays twelve dollars for a
- 15:38Speaker 2: cup of some sacred water? Where Toby and Chilly in
- 15:41Speaker 2: the morning it's ninety seven point one wash FM. I mean,
- 15:44Speaker 2: have you been to the grocery store lately? Grocery store
- 15:46Speaker 2: prices are out of control?
- 15:48Speaker 3: Wow.
- 15:49Speaker 2: So when you come to me and you ask me
- 15:50Speaker 2: if I want to buy a twelve dollars cup of water.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna be like, you mean the stuff we get
- 15:56Speaker 2: for free in the kitchen out of the sink.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Ye. Well, but this is not just any store. Let's
- 16:00Speaker 3: just make that clear. This is the luxury grocery chain
- 16:03Speaker 3: called air Wand in La and they are selling a
- 16:07Speaker 3: cup of sacred water for twelve dollars each. This is
- 16:10Speaker 3: the same place that sold a Japanese strawberry for nineteen
- 16:14Speaker 3: dollars a single strawberry, and the place that has the
- 16:18Speaker 3: Hailey Bieberg created smoothie for like twenty two dollars. Right,
- 16:23Speaker 3: So this sacred water? What makes it sacred?
- 16:27Speaker 2: It's a herbal tonic that's infused with organic jasmine tea

- 16:58Speaker 3: a society actually pay for bottled water. And you made
- 17:01Speaker 3: a point just a minute ago. It comes free out
- 17:04Speaker 3: of the faucet. Why are we paying for any water?
- 17:06Speaker 2: Well, because sometimes the tapwater tastes like chlorine and then
- 17:10Speaker 2: you read the news about what might be in the tapwater.
- 17:13Speaker 2: So bottlewater's fine. But you know what bottlewater for a

- 17:20Speaker 2: twelve for one.
- 17:22Speaker 3: That's true, but you know people are paying for it.
- 17:25Speaker 3: And I don't know if this made me feel better
- 17:28Speaker 3: in any way, shape or form, with all these herbal ingredients,
- 17:31Speaker 3: perhaps I would consider it.
- 17:33Speaker 2: No, it's a noe for me, dog to paaraphrase Randy

- 23:25Speaker 3: If you look the part, you can get away with
- 23:27Speaker 3: a lot. Like the guy in La who's snuck into
- 23:29Speaker 3: a World Cup game by dressing like an event worker?
- 23:33Speaker 2: How did that go? You'll find out. Here's a question
- 23:37Speaker 2: for you this morning. Have you ever snuck into a
- 23:40Speaker 2: party or some sort of fancy, high end event. How'd
- 23:43Speaker 2: you do it? Eight sixty six nine two seven, forty
- 23:46Speaker 2: three sixty one ninety seven point one wash FM, Toby
- 23:49Speaker 2: and Chilly in the Morning. No, we're not thinking about
- 23:51Speaker 2: sneaking into any kind of high end, high falutin event
- 23:54Speaker 2: to crash it. But people have been crashing World Cup games,
- 23:58Speaker 2: and there's one in particular who crashed a World Cup
- 24:02Speaker 2: match in La.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Yeah, this happened. I think it was last week. He
- 24:05Speaker 3: dressed as an event worker. His name is Noah Moy
- 24:09Speaker 3: and he was able to walk past security guards and
- 24:11Speaker 3: he watched the match from some empty seats. He was
- 24:15Speaker 3: wearing a black FIFA twenty twenty six t shirt and
- 24:18Speaker 3: some black pants. We look like he worked there. And
- 24:20Speaker 3: I think if you do anything with confidence, Toby, there's
- 24:23Speaker 3: a very good chance that you'll get away with it.
- 24:26Speaker 3: And since the tickets were so expensive, this dude was like, well,
- 24:30Speaker 3: I'll just give it a try and see what happens.
- 24:32Speaker 3: And it worked for him.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Pick four grand or just walk in and then what's
- 24:36Speaker 2: gonna happen. They're gonna throw me out, and that's okay.
- 24:39Speaker 2: I didn't have tickets anyway.
- 24:40Speaker 3: That's the worst case usually is you get kicked out
- 24:42Speaker 3: of something like this.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Don't really typically get arrested. They just throw you out,
- 24:45Speaker 2: and they may not ever let you back into an
- 24:47Speaker 2: event at that venue. But hey, it is what it is.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You ever sneak into anything.
- 24:51Speaker 3: Many years ago, my girlfriend and I snuck into a
- 24:55Speaker 3: White House Correspondence dinner. This was over twenty years ago
- 24:59Speaker 3: at the hotel. We just dressed up very fancy and
- 25:03Speaker 3: we looked the part, so they led us through. Now
- 25:06Speaker 3: we didn't have any seats at the table, but we
- 25:08Speaker 3: were meandering like in the lobby, you know, in the
- 25:10Speaker 3: hallways and stuff with other's some other parties going on.
- 25:12Speaker 3: So that's the most I've ever done.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you can always tell that at that dinner in particular,
- 25:18Speaker 2: you can always tell the people who are there to
- 25:20Speaker 2: work the lobby, and then there are those who are
- 25:22Speaker 2: going to the dinner itself. Me, I don't think I've
- 25:25Speaker 2: ever really had to sneak into anything. I think I
- 25:27Speaker 2: was escorted back stage a couple of times without credentials
- 25:31Speaker 2: or a lamin it to go meet an.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Artist's sneaking in.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I was kind of escorted, you know, but they
- 25:36Speaker 2: were like walk like you know what you're doing, and
- 25:38Speaker 2: like you're supposed to be here, and I'm like, okay, cool.
- 25:40Speaker 2: That's the closest I've come to sneaking into anything. What
- 25:43Speaker 2: about you? Eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty three
- 25:46Speaker 2: sixty one call us tell us what you snuck into?
- 25:49Speaker 2: How did it go? Would love to hear your story

- 27:55Speaker 3: Maryland's tax free week for back to school shopping is
- 27:58Speaker 3: going to be running August nine through the fifteenth. Clothing
- 28:02Speaker 3: and shoes under one hundred dollars are exempt, along with
- 28:05Speaker 3: the first forty dollars of a backpack purchase. And men
- 28:09Speaker 3: and women perform about the same on most multitasking tasks,
- 28:14Speaker 3: but a new study finds that men are more than
- 28:17Speaker 3: twice as likely to drop out of a conversation while
- 28:19Speaker 3: they're juggling other tasks, and researchers say that that visible gap,
- 28:24Speaker 3: and not actually multitasking ability, is probably what fuels the
- 28:29Speaker 3: stereotype that women multitask better. So you see, we can
- 28:34Speaker 3: multitask and talk at the same time. Forecasts for today
- 28:38Speaker 3: hot and humid, with a chance of an isolated thunderstorm

- 29:20Speaker 2: I just I just realized that I have indeed snuck
- 29:22Speaker 2: into some places I wasn't supposed to go. You know how.
- 29:25Speaker 2: There's like these abandoned missile silos and stuff all over
- 29:28Speaker 2: the DMV. There are the Nike missile sites. I actually
- 29:31Speaker 2: kind of drove up into one. It's over by downtown
- 29:34Speaker 2: Crown in Gaythersburg. Wasn't supposed to be there, didn't get
- 29:38Speaker 2: caught and got out of dodge, but I did not
- 29:40Speaker 2: get out of the car to go in because I
- 29:41Speaker 2: was afraid of getting arrested and getting arrested is no bueno,
- 29:45Speaker 2: especially around former military installations.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Now we're bringing this up because a guy in La

- 29:58Speaker 2: hear them. Hello there, Michael, thanks for listening to us
- 30:01Speaker 2: in Silver Spring this morning. What'd you sneak into?
- 30:03Speaker 5: This is back in the nineties in Las Vegas, so
- 30:06Speaker 5: you know it's going to be good.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Oh boy, where was it?
- 30:09Speaker 5: We're at the MGM Grand Theater seeing Robert Plant and
- 30:12Speaker 5: Jimmy Page when they were torn together, and we were
- 30:14Speaker 5: staying at the hotel. So I took it upon myself
- 30:17Speaker 5: to say, hey, you know what, I'm gonna sneak up
- 30:19Speaker 5: somehow and get up to the top floor where they're
- 30:21Speaker 5: at so I can meet him.
- 30:22Speaker 3: And what was the plan?
- 30:23Speaker 5: So I walked around the hotel and I found a
- 30:27Speaker 5: service elevator and some lady was getting in it, and
- 30:30Speaker 5: I just got in it with her and I rode
- 30:32Speaker 5: it all the way.
- 30:32Speaker 6: Up to the top and I came out and I'm
- 30:34Speaker 6: basically in the master suite of the MGM Grand and
- 30:38Speaker 6: I'm looking around. The next thing I know, four security
- 30:41Speaker 6: guys come up to me, figuring out what I am
- 30:43Speaker 6: doing up there?
- 30:43Speaker 5: How I got up there? I told them what I
- 30:45Speaker 5: was doing. I said, I don't mean any harm or anything.
- 30:47Speaker 5: I just wanted to meet the guys.
- 30:49Speaker 2: And I bet that went over well. So what happens next?
- 30:52Speaker 5: They escorted me back to my room, and at that
- 30:54Speaker 5: point I was ready to get out of the MGM
- 30:56Speaker 5: Grand and get out of Vegas.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Well you gave it a good try, at least good
- 31:01Speaker 3: old college try.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Didn't work out, but you tried, Joel and Woodbridge, Good morning.
- 31:07Speaker 2: What happened?

- 31:09Speaker 5: were on vacation in New York City and we had
- 31:11Speaker 5: just gotten done with the taping of the ConA O'Brien show.
- 31:14Speaker 2: And then we went over to the way they were
- 31:15Speaker 2: taking the VMA Awards.
- 31:16Speaker 5: For MTV and we were able to sneak into.
- 31:18Speaker 3: The back door the VMAs Ooh, how far did you get?

- 31:26Speaker 5: Celebrities who were famous at the time, security caught on
- 31:29Speaker 5: that we weren't supposed to be there and kick us out.
- 31:31Speaker 7: I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you a lad,
- 31:33Speaker 7: if you don't have any plans this week and you
