- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Uh huh, I sure will come on with everybody you
- 0:07Speaker 2: are listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 0:10Speaker 2: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Well, okay, here we go.
- 0:19Speaker 3: You know what's important, What's what can be a huge
- 0:23Speaker 3: part of your success is if you if you find
- 0:27Speaker 3: a balance, if you find a balance in your life.
- 0:33Speaker 3: That's that's been very important for me. And I've really
- 0:37Speaker 3: never phrased it this way until now, but I was
- 0:40Speaker 3: kind of thinking about it after my wife and I
- 0:43Speaker 3: mean we set up one night recently.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 0:46Speaker 3: You know, I often come on here and this is
- 0:48Speaker 3: kind of an inspirational moment of the show, and I
- 0:51Speaker 3: try to remind people about that most important relationship between
- 0:55Speaker 3: you and God. And that's that's the apex of it.
- 0:59Speaker 3: That's that's the that's the top of the crown. You've
- 1:02Speaker 3: got to form the relationship with God. If you don't,
- 1:04Speaker 3: everything else struggles. It's hard to be a good husband
- 1:08Speaker 3: without God. It's hard to be a good family man
- 1:10Speaker 3: without God. It's hard to be successful without God. Man,
- 1:13Speaker 3: it's hard to be hard to get through this thing
- 1:15Speaker 3: called life without God. So that's clear. But at the
- 1:20Speaker 3: same time, you can't talk about God. Twenty four seven,
- 1:25Speaker 3: you got to go to work. Come on, man, let's
- 1:27Speaker 3: just be real.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I ain't.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I ain't your pastor, and I ain't at your church.
- 1:30Speaker 3: But let's just be real about it. You know, now,
- 1:33Speaker 3: people tell you got to keep your mind stayed on
- 1:35Speaker 3: Him and all like that. That's the true statement. Got
- 1:38Speaker 3: to keep your mind stayed in that area. I don't
- 1:40Speaker 3: not here to tell you how to live, but you
- 1:42Speaker 3: got to keep your mind stayed in that area of God,
- 1:44Speaker 3: of doing the right thing, caring about people. That's what
- 1:47Speaker 3: I took it as. Now I could be wrong. I
- 1:49Speaker 3: apologize if I'm not saying it the way you've been taught.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I can only do me now. But after that, you
- 1:55Speaker 3: got to go to work. You got to have some fun.
- 1:58Speaker 3: You got to take care of your business. And that's
- 2:02Speaker 3: the balance you have to find. So it once you
- 2:07Speaker 3: focus on showing up your relationship.
- 2:09Speaker 1: With God, you got you gotta balance this. Now.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Now, you got to allocate some time. I don't care
- 2:17Speaker 3: who you are, for your family. If you're gonna have
- 2:20Speaker 3: a family, you got to allocate some time for them. See,
- 2:24Speaker 3: we can't just marry these women or make these kids
- 2:27Speaker 3: and then neglect them and fellas, especially if I'm talking
- 2:32Speaker 3: to men out here and ladies you can listen to.
- 2:33Speaker 1: But listen.
- 2:35Speaker 3: If you find yourself struggling in your life, man, and
- 2:37Speaker 3: you can't seem to get it together, Let's just go
- 2:40Speaker 3: over a couple of things. The first two things. If
- 2:43Speaker 3: you find yourself struggling you can't seem to pull it
- 2:45Speaker 3: together and reach your goals and get the where you
- 2:47Speaker 3: want to go, Let's let's just do a check how
- 2:52Speaker 3: is your relationship with God? And then next how much
- 2:57Speaker 3: time are you taking to allocate for your family? Now,
- 3:02Speaker 3: your family don't always live in your house, but if
- 3:05Speaker 3: you made them, they yours and the responsibility to them
- 3:10Speaker 3: is never lessen because you don't stay that no more
- 3:13Speaker 3: because you and the girl broke up, you and a
- 3:15Speaker 3: woman don't speak that, hey, man, that don't ever release
- 3:18Speaker 3: you from the obligation. Feel me what I'm telling you
- 3:21Speaker 3: this now because I'm not telling you something I'm wondering about.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I've had to live through them years. So two things
- 3:29Speaker 3: you can start looking at. If you not where you
- 3:31Speaker 3: want to be, and you ain't, you ain't really solent.
- 3:33Speaker 3: You can't figure out why you keep spending your wheels.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Have you just done a random inventory? Man? Have you
- 3:38Speaker 3: just checked on your relationship with God? Have you checked
- 3:41Speaker 3: on the time you spending dedicated towards your family, your
- 3:45Speaker 3: children that you created? If them two things is out
- 3:48Speaker 3: of sink man, that I can tell you right now.
- 3:51Speaker 3: You can go on and get to explaining yourself away
- 3:53Speaker 3: just like that. Hey, man, how come you ain't where
- 3:56Speaker 3: you want to be?
- 3:57Speaker 1: Man? Comes man, I really ain't. If you really ain't,
- 4:00Speaker 1: then you really ain't.
- 4:02Speaker 3: The third thing is you got to allocate the necessary
- 4:06Speaker 3: time for your business. You got to handle your business.
- 4:11Speaker 3: All of this, man, is the way it works, and
- 4:16Speaker 3: the order. The order is God first, family second. Then
- 4:25Speaker 3: you got to handle all your business. But as me,
- 4:27Speaker 3: and this is what we do. If I don't handle
- 4:30Speaker 3: my business, I can't take care of my family, true statement.
- 4:35Speaker 3: But if your business is in front of your family,
- 4:37Speaker 3: you out of order. Now that's all we talking about
- 4:40Speaker 3: now in it. See that's all we really say in
- 4:43Speaker 3: here now, fellas you know, you know I mean, I mean,
- 4:46Speaker 3: come on, man, you know, let's have a real conversation
- 4:48Speaker 3: about being better. You know, if you have created these children,
- 4:52Speaker 3: you got to handle your business. You may not like
- 4:55Speaker 3: the girl no more. You and the woman might have
- 4:57Speaker 3: broken up, y'all might go your own way, But what
- 4:59Speaker 3: that got to do with child though, Man, you got
- 5:01Speaker 3: to handle your business.
- 5:02Speaker 1: They got to know who daddy is.
- 5:04Speaker 3: That's your obligation, man, that God ain't letting you off
- 5:06Speaker 3: the hook for that.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Try it.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Go ahead and try it and think you're gonna get
- 5:11Speaker 3: off the hook with that, cause you're not. Man, You
- 5:14Speaker 3: just not. I'm sorry, man, dog Steve, Why you coming
- 5:19Speaker 3: like that? Because I did it like that. I did it, man.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I was over here trying to reshape my life, get
- 5:26Speaker 3: myself up on my feet when I was a homeless
- 5:28Speaker 3: man and trying to come back. Man, I thought I
- 5:30Speaker 3: had to take care of me first and then so
- 5:32Speaker 3: I can neglect it.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Cared about them kids. Man, I ain't hid at work. Man.
- 5:36Speaker 3: God kept his knee on my neck for a long
- 5:38Speaker 3: time for that one right there, till I finally learned
- 5:41Speaker 3: the lesson Hold up, man, put these phone calls in,
- 5:45Speaker 3: Go spend some time, do something.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And then it started turning around for me.
- 5:50Speaker 3: You know, I can't be there all the time because
- 5:52Speaker 3: I am out here on the grind, in the hustle.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But at the same time, man, some more phone.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Calls, some more letters, some more How h he heeds something,
- 6:02Speaker 3: then take care of your business.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Man. You got to work hard to be successful. You know.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Sometimes I don't put that in there. I just live it,
- 6:10Speaker 3: and I expect my sons to emulate that. But I
- 6:12Speaker 3: gotta talk to them all the time. How hard you
- 6:15Speaker 3: got to work to be something? It's all out of
- 6:18Speaker 3: salt on it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Man. If you gotta target in mind, you gotta go.
- 6:21Speaker 3: You gotta wake up every day trying to get there,
- 6:24Speaker 3: and you can't get tired of it because it never ends.
- 6:31Speaker 3: You're gonna always be this way. That's how life is
- 6:33Speaker 3: designed and set up. You got to be a hard worker.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Man.
- 6:37Speaker 3: If you always looking for some time to chill, and man,
- 6:40Speaker 3: I wanna go do what I want to do, you
- 6:42Speaker 3: ain't gonna make it. In order to be successful, you
- 6:46Speaker 3: have to do a series of things that you're uncomfortable doing.
- 6:49Speaker 3: And work is the thing that most of us are
- 6:52Speaker 3: uncomfortable doing.
- 6:53Speaker 1: It's so much easier to chill. Matter.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I wish I could kick back with a cigar man
- 6:58Speaker 3: all the time, but I can't, Man, I can't because
- 7:05Speaker 3: I got to work.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Then the last piece of the balance pie.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Balance piece is you gotta take some time out to
- 7:14Speaker 3: enjoy yourself. But if you ain't where you wanna be,
- 7:18Speaker 3: you ain't got a lot of time to enjoy yourself.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Quit thinking, man, that this balance is even. It's a
- 7:26Speaker 3: whole lot of God, a whole lot of family, a
- 7:29Speaker 3: whole lot of business, and a little bit of chilling.
- 7:33Speaker 3: The chilling can't be equal to the family, the business,
- 7:36Speaker 3: all your God. If the chilling is equal to any
- 7:39Speaker 3: of them, you ain't gonna make it. Quit chilling, man,
- 7:43Speaker 3: and go to work like a man. Do what you're
- 7:46Speaker 3: supposed to do. Work on your family, work on your relationship,
- 7:49Speaker 3: work on your God, work on your business. And then
- 7:52Speaker 3: when you chill, you might not chill as long, but
- 7:54Speaker 3: you show gonna chill bigger.
- 7:56Speaker 1: You're gonna ball bigger. Baby. You're listening to the Steve
