- 2:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's my speel.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: That's all I have to open with.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go talk to Brian.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: All right, like I mentioned in the open, everybody, I got Brian Boesarge with me from draftcountdown.com.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be talking about these prospects.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Brian's going to give us the insights scoop, because this is his wheelhouse.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: The draft breaking down these prospects, Brian, you do a great job of this every year.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said before the show, I love doing these episodes with you every year.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: We think this might be the fourth one.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: that we've done as a row something like that at least every year you come on here and you tell us what's going on with these incoming rookies specifically for the Browns and I do have to let everybody know it front of course you are bangles fan but you know we can we can let that slide we both simultaneously hate the Ravens and Steelers so that's cool we got that in common I also hate the chiefs now okay I was too I there was no helmet to helmet contact call
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, so why don't we just go ahead and we'll kick right into it, give me your overall thoughts for the Browns at six and just kind of the top 10 in general is kind of have a whole discussion around that group of of prospects.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: My first thought with Cleveland entering this draft is there's two ways this is either going to go.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't I don't think it's a third way here.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're either going to draft an offensive tackle at six and a wide receiver at 24 or they're going to draft a wide receiver at six and an offensive tackle at 24.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's either, I don't know what the third scenario here would be other than a tray back at one of those two picks, which I'm not ruling that out either.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: As you mentioned to me before we started what the roster depth is thin.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: You've got nine picks, you can always use more.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: So a tray back would bring in those extra picks, maybe you get some some of that sweet 20, 27 picks
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: this draft is weird and I mentioned this and a lot of different shows I've done the best players in this draft played non-premium positions.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: And by that I mean, I think the best player in this draft class is a safety cable down from Ohio State.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think two of the other five best players and I think three of the other top five players in this class are running back Jeremiah love from Notre Dame and two linebackers areville Reese and sunny sals both from Ohio State at that Ohio State team was very good for those people keeping just keeping scored home and then you have the quarterback at the top
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: And no disrespect to Fernando Mendoza.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's really good in winning a national championship in the end is outstanding.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: But you could argue, would he have been the number one pick last year?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: The same way, would he have taken him over cam board?
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: He definitely would have been the first quarterback taken two years ago.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure he would have been higher than the fourth quarterback taken two years ago.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think he would have been the top quarterback taken next year, had he gone back to Indiana.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying he's not going to be a good player, but that's kind of where I'm at.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: The rest of the top 10, you have your, you know, you have two edge rushers at the top that I like, David Bailey and Ruben Bane.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're my third and fourth best players in this class.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have a handful of offensive tackles, but those offensive tackles that are at the top on most people's boards, I should say, are played right tackle in college.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, and that's an evaluation of the Browns, we'll have to make it itself.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that's a big debate, obviously, it's been all over Twitter, Brown's Twitter, for sure, you know, social media arguments, and we've debated on this show, whether the Browns should try to go offensive tackle at six or wide receiver.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll get you a opinion here in a second.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also just letting you know where I stand.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: I am firmly on the Carnell Tate at six if he's available because I think that he is clearly the best receiver in my opinion.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: After everything I've done this offseason, I'll ask you what you think in a minute.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that he is a better pick at six than any of the tackle prospects that are probably going to be there.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we would be reaching a little bit for some of those guys if we took them at six.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: But what's your breakdown?
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: Who would you be in favor of the Browns taking at six?
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: If you know, say Cardinal Tate is available on the board and then you've got the tackles there.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: So that is the premise here is that Cornel Tate is available at six, which I might just point, I don't know that that's a guarantee.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'd say it's about a 65, 70% chance that he's on the board, but if he's there, I think that is where the Browns go at six, if Cornel Tate is on the board, I think he's the pick at six.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: You're basically going to be taking him over, I think the right hand option or the tackle option would be Spencer Fano from Utah, who played right tackle at Utah, but is athletic enough to play the left side, but his arm length is
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: less than ideal, right?
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of people think his best position may be inside its center or at guard.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're not taking a guard at six.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: So if you view him as a guard, he's not the pick.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: The next one is Francis Maui Noa from Miami, who I think is going to be a great right tackle in the league.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: So if you take him or you move and tie his Howard, that you acquire from Houston over to the left side and then play in Malay, no one on the right side.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'm with you, I think the play is the wide receiver at six.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if it's not Cornel Tate, do they?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Even, I don't want to say reach, but maybe it is a reach for my Kylimin at six.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we've, yeah, what's your opinion on my Kylaman because I definitely like Cardinal Tate, Justin, one of the other hosts in the show here.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's a big Cardinal Tate guy too, but he's very high on my Kylaman.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like six is not too high from a Kylaman for him.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: My board breaks out a little bit different.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I've got my Kylimin into mid-teens, but I have Cornell Tate at 15.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, I is a water seaver.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think that this is the best year for the water seaver class in general, but I do think these are number one level water severs.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Limin does a lot of good things with the football.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I wish we had got a more testing out of him than we got, but you know, can't ask for the world, I guess.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: And, um, you know, there was a lot of stuff came out after the combine, anonymous scout talk or whatever about his interviews didn't go great and all that.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: That, that to me is somebody trying to get my child living to fall down in the first round to them.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I just said, if it's tight or lemon, I think now, honestly, if not for the injuries, I think Jordan Tyson would have been the top water seaver on my board, if not for the injuries, but I saw a stat yesterday where he, every, essentially every third game he played in college you missed.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, that's, that's not great.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: And generally speaking, those guys that stay injured in college, stay injured in the NFL as well.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: So, would he be an option at 24?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: If he were to still be on the board and you took the tackle at six, maybe.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I, I've definitely talked about that as well, the possibility of Jordan Tyson falling into 24.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm, I'm more comfortable taking him there, obviously than I am at six.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: The injury scare me, especially like you said.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: When you're injured like that, that often all the time in college is just going to carry on into the NFL, the physicality and the level of, you know, strain on your body is even more.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_02]: Plus, you're going, if you come to Cleveland, you're just guaranteed to get hurt.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: It just happens.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's kind of like the same Francisco 49ers play there are.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_02]: We're all right.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, every other sub is there a substation there on the light.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: There's gotta be something man There's gonna be these to look into that, but Jordan Tyson even at 24 would I'd be better with it It was still making me nervous because of the injury thing like I'd be more excited about getting him there But in the back and there I'd still be like man.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I hope this works and if they do take the tackle at six be it for no bit.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know a bit
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: out for you guys sake.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: I hope not Caden Proctor.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard that a lot as well.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's another one.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: I would be much more comfortable with it 24 though.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he'll be there then.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: If that is the case, there are other wider severs at 24, Denzel Boston, from Washington, is a name to maybe get familiar with Casey Concepcion from Texas A&M.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: It is another, and maybe he's still in the board of our Cooper Jr. from Indiana.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: It is another guy there at 24, but, again, I think the best play for Cleveland is
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: 24, the other Utah tackle, Caleb Blomu, who I am often left field from most analysts.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm especially on the consensus board.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: I have Caleb Blomu as a top tackle in this class.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be on the board at 24.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: That's interesting because a lot of the mocks that I've put together here, I usually go carnell-tate six and then Caleb Blomu is always my go-to-tate.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: And he's always there and he's probably going to be there.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of concern, maybe plays a bit too high at times, but to me, he's the left tackle.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: And he was the left tackle at what you taught.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's at pointy athletic to play the position.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_00]: Another guy, I like if you don't think you have to rush him on the field and maybe you don't, maybe Duan Jones can still play.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, tackle for you.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: Max Ahana Chore from Arizona State is a guy who has only been playing football for like four years, maybe five years, moved over here from Nigeria, soccer background, started at Juco, President of State, offensive line coach, saw him at Juco, brought him in, that he took the job at Arizona State, brought him over there
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: and had a great senior ball week gets a bit of what I like about him as he takes coaching well.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: You could see him in the one on one's as a senior ball sometime on one rep he'd get overextended the next rep walked it down, learned, moved on.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I and it's just like he's still raw, right?
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to take time to get him acclimated and maybe up to speed.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: So he's a guy I wouldn't mind there for a team like Cleveland at 24.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Monro Freelings another one that his range is wild right now.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: After the combine his range went into the sixth pick right.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of mocks had him going to Cleveland at six.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Now maybe he's there at 24.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know his range has been all over the place.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the guys whose range is, this is kind of what I keep going back to as well.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: When the range is just all over the place and you've got a top six pick in the draft, I want to lock in and get the best player I can get there.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: And to speak to that, maybe it's not car and I'll take.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you said you have in at 15.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: So if the Browns and this goes back to last year as well, I don't know about you, Brian.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: I did not see the Browns taking Mason Graham at five.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: No, I know there was some smoke and some talk about, you know, a potential trade back with the Jaguars kind of a head of time that maybe there's something brewing there and then we got it on draft night.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: They go from two to five and we're sitting there during our live stream and we're going, hey, maybe we take Ashton, Gentie, like we are offense sucks.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: We need playmakers or, you know, this or that and there's some other guys that were really excited.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we could grab here, Tedro and McMillan, we could freaking need a wide receiver.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: make a mason gram.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't even know that they were interested or connected to mason gram in any way, really.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: And he was the pick.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: So if the browns do that this year, are there any players right there at six, that you think could just shock us when the browns go up there and take them.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: Kaled out.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's your number one guy, right?
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: He's my number one guy and I just thank there's so much he can do defensively for you that even if you've got locked in stars at safety, I mean, he can kick into nickel for you.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he doesn't have to play there all the time, but it gives you that versatility where you could run three safety's out on the field and you don't lose anything with downs.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think he's so smart as a player
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: you know, you could put the green dot on him, and you'd be fine.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think he could get a, I mean, you're not going to, obviously.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: No, but that's high praise, though.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's, he's been this license.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's stepped on the field at Alabama.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Is a true question.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then it just continued to get better and better each year.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, at Ohio State.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just I think he's that good.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's just a safety.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: So apparently the positional value, you know, drops him down.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I know there are, I've seen it.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of Browns fans want Jeremiah love.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: and six.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't feel like that would be a good move at all for what they need on this team.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: So if I would say a surprise guy that Cleveland would take Mason Grammysch off the radar there, Caleb downs.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think you don't really see that mod to them at all.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: You see him mod.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: five, seven, eight, nine, ten.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: You see it mocked all around, but never at six.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: So that's just one that, you know, would come out of left field so to speak.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously Ohio State fan here, I'll take any of the buck guys.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think they're all great in this draft in this top 10.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: He calved down with so much fun to watch in Columbus and you're right going all the way back to Alabama.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like he stepped on the field immediately as a freshman and was one of the best players in the SEC, which is crazy to think about being that young and being that dominant in such a major conference.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Jeremiah loves another interesting one.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: I keep throwing that out there to people just to kind of get the reaction and Gauge the field on what people are thinking and it's definitely a split man.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: There are people that think even mentioning Jeremiah love is Moronic and what are you thinking and then there's other people are like yeah, he's the best player in this draft like of course If you can take him take him and it's kind of all over the place, but either way I think as long as the Browns don't just completely reach for somebody at six that's
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's the biggest fear of mine, biggest fear of a lot of browns fans.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: We've just got a track record in the history of screwing these things up.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and I know last year's draft overall went pretty well.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: Looks like it's going to be okay for us.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: We did take two quarterbacks and one's a QV3 on the roster at best if even makes it this year.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: And we took two runningbacks, one who we clearly didn't know how to use last year.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: So, but overall we definitely got some good starters out of that draft.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_02]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not just sports either.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: It works like this.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: Simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.

- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: So those guys that you drafted the last year.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_00]: I said I'm just that there's a whole lot of things to watch with that team this year that I wish they were all hard knocks to be honest, but These are just just the quarterback room dynamic itself would be fun.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: So from an out from an outsider perspective anyway, I can't imagine the tortures nature.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: It would be for fans of the team to have to watch that pull out every day.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: We're all very ready for one of those quarterbacks to just not be here anymore.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so let's move down here.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of focusing on guys who could be available around 24.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_02]: You've kind of already alluded to a little bit of it, but you know, Denzel Boston, you mentioned Casey conception, Omar Cooper Jr. Is that kind of the order you would have them in or would you have Omar Cooper ahead of them?
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: For me, if Kevin or Kevin, I know that's how they haven't listed here.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: If Casey conception is available 24,
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: For me, even if they took a wide receiver at six, I'd still want him.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's such a dynamic playmaker, but what's your breakdown on those that next group of receivers that could be available?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: So he's an interesting case because he's also, um, return game benefit as well.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Um, just great with the ball in his hands, right?
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Very explosive was, uh, put up big numbers of the NC state and then continue that over, uh, to Texas A&M this year.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I've got to currently write behind Denzel Boston, not very far behind again.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, I've, these receivers are kind of pumped up for me.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: Um, as it goes, so with with conception, and uh, I, another receiver, I am much higher on than consensus is Zachariah Branch from Georgia, I don't think there's any shot he goes in the first round, but he's another, uh, he's smaller than conception, but he's, I think he's stronger.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: I, I, I think he's, is it, he's a, he was a status on him that,
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: He averaged, I'm sorry, he had every fifth time he touched the ball, or was it four, no, is there 25% of his catches this year were exposed to plays?
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: Oh wow.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: So every fourth time he touched the ball, it was 15 plus yorked.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, he's a guy, I like, I think he's going to go in the second, maybe even early third round.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: But he's another guy, dynamic, a partner turner, helps that way.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: But I think if the Browns go tackle it six, I think conception is the receiver that I would probably most likely target there for them, because we didn't get any testing at all for
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: There's rumors that he probably runs in the force, hello, four, six range, which is, I don't think that's something I want to take in the first round.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I, 40 times, it's always a point of contention with people, but you're right.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about first round picks here, and this is a,
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: You got to get these right, because Andrew Barry's not had great drafts outside of last season.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, he might be on his, this might be his last go out and if if if they don't make a run, right?
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: If they if the if he blows this one, I hope this is his last go out because I'm tired of this crap.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: And like gets get some football players in here.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what we were happy with last year.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: I really did not think there was any chance the Browns were
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: He went to a small school.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: His athletic testing wasn't off the charts or anything crazy.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: And I just thought, eh, they'll pass over this guy.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hell of a football player, led the entire nation in receiving was just dominating people out there.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: Even the big teams they played Penn State and whoever else.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: Nah, we'll pass on him.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: But they took him.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, maybe we're turning a corner here.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: Just take the good football players.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was at the ball game where he needed two catches and 14 yards to break the NCAA Titan receiving or a director, rolling the ball 20 times for 200 and something yards and that game.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: It was fun.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_02]: He is a, it just carries a great blow.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_02]: It was man, like he, yeah, what does it go to say?
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I always say like given the ball four yards, he'll get you 11.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's he's carrying people with break in tackles.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's a beast and it was so fun to watch last year.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, why does he or his spot?
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: They probably need a double dip at, too.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, at some point.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they, he'd add another, they'd add a tackle.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: Probably need to add an interior offensive line.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: But at some point, you mentioned, I mean, there's just a depth on defense.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: Nickelback is probably a spot at,
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: I would say it's definitely a target at $30.39.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: Do you have any names around there, Ednickle, that might be?
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: good targets.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think the two guys you would target at 39 would be the Diancelot Ponds from Indiana.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: Small guy, five foot, eight, 180 pounds, but plays like he's six, three, two, 10.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a great player, great instincts.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it doesn't tackle as well as he should.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: Kianta Scott for Miami is another guy.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's a little bit older than Ponds, but he's another guy that at Pick 39.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think maybe that's a little high.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think NFL teams like him more than the consensus board does.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: Gotcha again.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of what I do use a mock draft database and you're looking a lot of those.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I like to look at them and then I compare with like who the Browns have hosted for top 30 visits.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously I know they don't just draft top 30 because it guys, but it just gives you an idea of what they're looking at and around 39.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: The only guys they've really brought in, uh, Tyson's and obviously Denzel Boston, and they brought in, um, who was, I was just looking here.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, our Mason Thomas, the Eddresher out of Oklahoma, which I thought was interesting because I feel like, based on the stuff that they've actually put out publicly, he's the only Eddresher they've hosted for a top 30 visit.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_00]: And then that would be what, but my old partner Shane, how him sent me a link to, I don't know the original guy who did the study here, but he used mock draft database and went back 10 years.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: And if you have visited with a consensus top 100 receiver, just one of them, there's a 54% chance you drafted one of them.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you visited three or more or have visits with three or more, there's a 76% chance you will draft a wider receiver in the first three rounds.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: Would you care to guess which team has visited with more of the consensus top 100 receivers this year?
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I know the Browns have to be at least at the top of the list.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: They are at the top.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: They have visited with eight of the 13 consensus top 100 receivers.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: They have had visits with Tate, Lemon, Tyson, Cooper, Concepcion, Boston, Chris Bell from Louisville, who I think would be, you would hope would be a target in the third round because of the injury and Jeremy Bernard from Alabama.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: So they're definitely taking somebody.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're taking one of them.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a question of which of their first four picks they do it.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's the big thing too.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a couple receivers later on that I want to get your opinion about too.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: So you were at the Senior Bowl, correct?
- 28:19[SPEAKER_02]: I was.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_02]: Talk to me about Ted Hirst.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: He is big.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: He is fast and he was one of the most productive group of five players out there.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's I was shocked that he didn't transfer up after his junior year as a lot of people expected him to.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he had a dominant week at the senior role like some had.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: He was really good.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's I think he's going to go in the first three rounds.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to go probably in that third round area.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: 70 and Ted Hearst make a whole lot of sense.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: If even if they've taken one, I would love to see Ted Hearst be our second receiver that we draft this year.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think based on what I've studied on him, I feel like there is wide receiver one upside if he hits, if he hits his ceiling, because the kid is talented, man, he is freaking good.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm excited to see what he does wherever he goes, but I really would like to be Cleveland.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's you could make a similar argument about Bryce Lance from North Dakota state as well, similar size, similar profiles, smaller school.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, hit me in an FCS.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, the only way Lance is the 20, he's a 25, right?
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a star.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's, he's, he's older.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that's that's that generally a no go for the Browns in the first two days.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: But I was just a similar profile.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't know.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's 22.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_00]: I make sense because he's played all four years that he's been there because he was 21 actually.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: So he's been the best player at Georgia States for years.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: I thought I heard a thing too that he didn't transfer partially because he was working on whatever degree it was or something there.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: He was
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: I forget.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what I read.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think another similar profile receiver to him would be Chris Brasal from Tennessee.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's interesting.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: Talk to me about him.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's another big heightweight speed guy, right?
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but the concerns for me with Brasal are the Tennessee offense.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just judged the player not the helmet right, but the last since Josh Heples
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: those players have not come in near NFL ready.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: From the quarterbacks to the receivers, Jaylen Highett, I think was another receiver that came in.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: So it's, we'll see with Brasal, I've got him at a wider receiver nine right now, which probably puts him, I want to say wait.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: I've got him at 55 over all, so late second round.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas I have Ted Hurst right around where you would expect the Browns to maybe make that pick.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: All right, I'm hoping for her.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: She's kind of been a my guy throughout this process.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of times when I start with those type of players, especially the smaller school guys, I think at some point here that's going to taper off and I won't be so high on them.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I learned some things or she's some things.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: Now with Ted, her, so I've just gotten higher and higher on him, I'm very excited about him.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not unconvinced that the Browns are gonna end up with more bites at the Apple on day two.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna move down from six or 24, one of the other.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: That I mean, the rumors out there today are basically everybody from three through seven want to move down.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if that drives the value of the picks down a little bit.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: I can't help but if every house in the block goes on sale, that the values can't, the value's got to come down a little bit, right?
- 32:19[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: The for sale price.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the chiefs would move would move up.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: The saints are always, I always think they're ready to go.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: Mick Lewis is much more likely to trade up than he has trade down.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's had one trade down since he's been the GM.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, geez.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's got one straight up.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think they're and I think they're Dallas's Dallas is calling everybody.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: Trying to go up.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, that, I mean, that could be a good tradeback partner, especially if you can get 12 and 20 or 12, then something in 27.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: I, well, no, they don't have their 27 one.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: They have, yeah, they, boy, they have one of them.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: See, I was looking at that today.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: So they have, that's right.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: They have,
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: They have green based 27 one.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have theirs.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's what I thought was conditional.
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't it the jets got the higher, whatever ends up being the higher pick?
- 33:22[SPEAKER_00]: Is that true?
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that's what I read today is that's what that's right that's I remember that that's I remember a comment.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, that's what I mean being a trades.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, so it's like what's there other 27 first then?
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it's it so they have green base and then they would have theirs so whichever one is worst is when you'd be getting no whichever one's higher.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_02]: So if it's like if it's like 11 and
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: smart by the jets.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, don't get to say that very often right now.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think the Browns end up with at least one extra day to pick, then they have right now.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_00]: Before it's all said, and maybe they move down from 24 to the top of the second, maybe they get an extra get a you know back in the second round and get a third round pick or something like that.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe for one of those teams that want to, since that's at the top of the second round, I don't know.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's a possibility.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm definitely expecting a trade back at some point as long as there's a somebody willing to come up.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: Now, six, I think like you just said, it's going to be tough because I later analogy there.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: If every house on the block is up for sale, but you've only got two people really interested in buying.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: And there's six houses for sale.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Four people aren't going to be very happy because they're not going to be able to sell that house.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a chance that maybe the deal at four is better than what the Brown's
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: are able to give to the Cowboys, or the Cowboys are like, actually there's three of the guys that we like still on the board.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: We'll just trade up with whoever else, you know, does the commanders after you guys.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's going to be.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm very excited for next Thursday, but I'm like ready to be upset.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: Or are we all?
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: Or are we all?
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: I have, I was on a Bengals show Sunday night and they proposed that or that the Bengals would take Jermod McCoy.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: of a Ruben Bane if both were still on the board.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I might lose it.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's definitely things like that that well things like that are going to happen.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: There's going to be a correct pick correct I guess if we go back to the first round real quick and talk to me about the tight ends, and what do you think about Kenyan Sadik Because I know I'd be really like Kenyan Sadik.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: You do okay.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_00]: I do just a super athlete.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he blocks really well Probably needs to refine his route running a little bit, but he's
- 36:06[SPEAKER_00]: The thing with CD is, especially in the case of the Browns, I think it's putting a hat on a hat.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_02]: Because I mean, a lot of what Fanon does.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_00]: Right, and you already have Fanon and Fanon would be cheaper.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just Fanon's on a third round deal where, you know, CD could not gonna be.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: So I think for Cleveland,
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't, I don't necessarily think it's even going to be an option for them anyway because he's definitely not going to be in play at six.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: I, I, I say, I don't think he would be, I think so.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think his ceiling at draft draft stock is nine with Kansas City.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: where I think his floor is probably 19 with Carolina.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he goes anywhere in between 9 and 19.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think he would be on the board at 24 either.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't, but but outside of like if you look and and I get why you so to me, the Brown should be looking for a number two tight in and I think in the third round area
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe even the early fourth round area where you start looking at guys that aren't like fan it to me.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a guy like Sam Roush from Stanford who will grade the senior bowl and tested like a phenom at the combine.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: Marlon Klein from Michigan.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: is another max player from Ohio State, although I guess he is kind of similar to Fanon somewhat, but I think those guys are huge look for, and if you're just looking for a pure block or the other Ohio State guy in the sixth round or whatever, Keck Merrick, that guy's going to play in a league for 10 years.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: I had somebody say that Keck Merrick will play longer than Max player.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: interesting and it is probably true just like Claire, he might be more productive as a pass catcher, but Katmaryx is going to be 2036 still blocking his ass off.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: Sign in those one-year deals, right?
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: Just sign in one-year.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: Drew Sampel without the second round draft capital.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is, the league is built on those type of players.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: I know the flashy guys are the big names and everything, but you play all four special teams units and number two, tidy in.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: So Josh and Davis from Alabama is another.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think is similar to that as well.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, what do you think about Eli Rared and from Notre Dame?
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: I've got him 11 on my board.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this way too, but okay, as far as I'm on my tie in board, I think he's going to outplay that spot, but I just, there was other guys that I like more.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: Um, then him, so some guys are probably going to play him out like Michael Trig from Baylor, who seems to be a head case.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: And some other guys, like maybe Justin Jolly from NC State, who I think is a great past catcher, but maybe doesn't, you know, do the other things well to last long, whereas
- 39:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's gonna go in the fourth round.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that's a guy I've definitely liked.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: Pretty much the entire process since I started diving into these prospects.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_02]: And then Oscar Delp from George's the one guy know that they've hosted for a top 30 visit.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he's got the familiarity with Todd Monk and from being a drag.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm guessing Muckin recruited him to Georgia.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: And he's another guy where you're going to look at his stats in college and like, well, five star my ass has got to be doing anything.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: And he's going to be more productive probably in the NFL than he was at college.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_00]: But he's another guy that I think's.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: I would be surprised if you went off the board higher than the fourth round because Titans and other spot where I don't think more than three or four guys go in those first 100 picks.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I think we're going to see the fourth round.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: We start seeing a lot of these Titans come off the board.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I like this Titan class for what the Browns need.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: because like you said, Harold fan and he's not your traditional Titan, we talk about this all the time, they line him up all over the field, or at least last year's coaching staff did.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they do it this year.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know they should.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: It worked very well last year.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: Put him outwise, slot, backfield, in line, wherever, doesn't matter.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: He'll make the play.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_02]: But we need that in line blocking Titan who can also go out and be a weapon in the passing game.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I think there's a handful of those guys at the Browns could come away with at least one of them.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think Elast hours is that guy from Vanderbilt.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think, like I said, Michael Trigg is definitely not that guy.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: there could be some other ones.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's another like a hero.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, I don't think he's for the Browns, but I think another guy that is a day three, maybe mid to late day three target, that's similar to Harold Fanon, is Sadie Treore from Mississippi State, born in England, pointed Arkansas State, and then was Holly Proctor, there he knows productive from Mississippi State this year.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: So, plus he counts as the,
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: in our international spot.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's one of the IPP guys.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think it works that way on the 53 man, but I know you get a free practice squad spot for him.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you get 54.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think you get an extra spot in camps though.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: Is it 90?
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: 90.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's 90 one in camp and you can carry 17 on the
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: active as a final roster.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's how it works.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but you know, he's a guy that I sometimes going to just just have the extra body, but I think he's more than that.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good name to keep in mind too.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_02]: And then you had mentioned going to the interior of the offensive line at some point in this draft.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: And correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like there's there are some good interior offensive line in that that can be had in the second and maybe early third round range.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_00]: I, in my final board that's going to go up on Sunday, so I have all of the top three hundreds.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to go off a draft cabinet on Sunday.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: I have got eight interior offensive line in the top 100 picks.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: So day two is going to be a buzzing with these guys.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: I, if he's available at 24, I take him, take him.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: The brand, we're running up, we're running up.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you want a, is that how you say you want a?
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's your one A or your one A. I've never even, it's tough to say.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's, it's, I feel like that's right.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds right.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: They can, I think it's, I think it's been good, by the way.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: Venga, okay.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: Venga, you want a.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: the dude is a monster monster.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_02]: I want, I would love to have him.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: I would.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care where he's left guard, right guard, whatever.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: That guy's plug-in play.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, he's 24.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think another guy, it may be at the top of the second round.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: former tackle, Jennings Dunker, Iowa, another fun guy, I think he's a guard at the next level.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: He played both at the senior bowl, but he was much better inside.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_00]: A manual print on is older for Oregon, so I think he'd be off the guy who fits the draft profile of age wise for the Browns is Chase Pesantis.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'll take saying him hurt a lot of hurt a lot of talk about him going in the bottom of the first round.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not buying that top of the second round.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_00]: K1 Rutledge from Georgia Tech is another nasty nasty player.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_00]: And I love the
- 44:26[SPEAKER_00]: And this to me, if you do get one of those extra day two picks, like in a trade back, I will Connor Lou from Auburn.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: As a red shirtty pick, if you will, towards ACL and like October.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_00]: And, um,
- 44:46[SPEAKER_00]: man, he's so good.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was the top center in this class.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was a borderline first rounder, if not for the injury this year.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, I don't know when he'll be ready to go, but to me, if you've got some extra picks.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_00]: You could do a lot worse than having this guy on the ready to ready to go with some of them one year them two year deals you guys signed on those offensive linemen that are really no more than one year deals a guy ready to go next year.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: inside.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think centers definitely it depends on what they want to do with Elton Jenkins ultimately because if they if they got a good center in this draft, we could use one because right now outside of Jenkins is just Luke Whippler on the roster and he's been
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: kind of hurt every year.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: And the only thing with Connor Lou that worries me about the injury and it goes to the last guy we did this with Zach's enter.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we drove the him coming off that injury and he's never been the same.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's never done anything.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: It is a worry, but not everyone's the same, right?
- 45:55[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to judge that some guys
- 46:00[SPEAKER_00]: because this is I think his only injuries had.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what centers injury history was prior to the one he got.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: And then, of course, you have a couple of older Iowa interior offensive linemen.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you could ever go wrong with those guys, right?
- 46:15[SPEAKER_00]: Logan Jones, both Stevens, couple of those guys.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I know there's a lot of love for Sam Heck, the center from Kansas State.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: maybe a bit small, I think he's under 300 pounds, but or right at 300 pounds, but yeah, another gotta keep an eye.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Butcher Box for Pets.

- 48:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, going back up to Venga, if the Browns did a tradeback into the into 12 or missing somewhere and got him.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and if they were like, yeah, that was our target all along.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_02]: I, okay, I'd be totally fine with that.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because again, a guard at six, that's a stretch.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_02]: But I just think he's probably better than those tackles that you'd be taking at six.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, theoretically, if you went back from six to twelve with Dallas, and let's just, let's use Dallas as the example here because they're the team that seems to be most likely to come up.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you get twelve and twenty, right?
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: I've been saying that too.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that's, yeah, that feels like it's too much.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think you're going to get both.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like you get 12, their third round pick and maybe another pick and day three and maybe in a sweetener from 27 second or something.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: And you move back six spots, you draft the thing got.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna plug in probably like we said at guard.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: And now you've got the extra second round pick or the extra third round pick, you've got
- 49:39[SPEAKER_00]: another day three pick and then now you can take some of those picks that you've gotten if you use another guy like you want to move up from 24 to that that falls maybe one that maybe maybe you're okay with Jordan Tyson's in your history and he starts falling into that late teen area you want to bounce bounce up ahead of Pittsburgh or something it's true you know or Philadelphia or or one or Philadelphia
- 50:03[SPEAKER_00]: What you want to get ahead of them guys for Jordan Tyson then you know you can take some of those some of that extra graph there and and move up so and we know they they they'll maneuver around the board I just went out.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: I love teams that do that.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_00]: I love Philadelphia.
- 50:20[SPEAKER_00]: See how I love all these teams to do that because my team doesn't and it makes me sad
- 50:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and honestly, the Browns will do that, but for the most part, we talk about trading up or trading back at certain spots every year.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_02]: And when the draft comes and goes, we sit there and we look at it and they usually pick where they were, where they were slaughtered.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: They just sit and they just take whoever's on their highest on their board at that spot and then they move on.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, the only significant trade-up was for J.O.K.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: back when they moved up from, it was like 50, where they moved up from 56 to 52, or something to get him in the second round.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then obviously last year, they flipped a couple of six round picks to go get Shador in the fifth, which to me, that's not a significant investment to trade-up.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's, they weren't gonna use those picks anyway.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we end up keeping our later picks this year either.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're gonna end up using those to,
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: move up it, like you said, if a guy is falling that we want, probably in those middle rounds, but the first round could get really interesting, or we could just pick 6 and 24.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: I have it.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's crazy, man.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like they've really put out the smoke screens so that we have no clue what they're doing.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_00]: I have events myself there.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have like six or seven trades in the first round and we're probably going to need to walk three.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_02]: Now you're absolutely right, but, and again, if it kind of comes down to the, this isn't really the class where I think a lot of people want to move up.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_00]: The only thing that that makes me think that they will is because I think, and I've heard this going back to hearing people talk with the senior bull.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's like 16 or 17 first round grades for teams, right?
- 52:00[SPEAKER_00]: There's 32 picks in the first round.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_00]: So if you are a team, a playoff team in the 20s and there's a guy that can help you get to the Super Bowl next year, you're more and likely to package some picks and move up.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's kind of interesting.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think we could see a lot of
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, maybe we don't see a lot of movement the top 10 like we're expecting.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_00]: And we get sort of, you know, like, pixel 11, 12, 13, you know, and you sort of see in a lot of movement up from the 20s.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm I'm excited for it.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely excited to see how it goes.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_02]: We got a couple of minutes here left before I let you go.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go to the defensive side of the ball kind of
- 52:51[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked about a couple who could be surprised picks in the first round, but let's kind of look at, you know, maybe the middle rounds, third, fourth round, who would be some of your top defensive players overall in that range of the draft and guys that you think would be a good fit for the Browns knowing our lack of depth on defense and how badly we really do need to start plugging some holes there.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you guys struck gold last year in the second round with Swesinger and that guy's a player and this year I think this is the deepest linebacker group off all linebacker group I've scouted in at least 10 years at least.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so there's guys that I think that I have third round grades on that could fall into that fourth round area.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: Those debt places.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_00]: A guy I absolutely love is Caleb Alarm's or from TCU.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_00]: He was on the same defense at the senior ball with Jacob Rodriguez from Texas Tech, Kyle Lewis from Pittsburgh and he was every bit as good as them during the week to practice and he was the only one that stayed for the game.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_02]: interesting.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's a name I have not really heard my son.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll have him in my top 100.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_00]: I doubt he goes in the top 100 or the first three rounds.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be on the board top of the fourth round, but he's a guy that for someone like Cleveland, I think would be a good target.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_00]: Another guy that I think is going to be available in the fourth, maybe the fifth round, who I would just want to see
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: I would want to take the lottery ticket.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: And that's Harold Perkins from LSU.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this guy has a freshman dominant past, rest of your NSEC, but it's just undersized, right?
- 54:35[SPEAKER_00]: He's never going to be that inch-rusher that everybody wanted him to be.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: But can't he be a sub-package guy for you?
- 54:44[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I want to find out.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to find out in the fourth round.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_00]: I want to find out the fifth round.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to find out in the second or third round.
- 54:53[SPEAKER_00]: but if I can get him there, a couple other linebackers I'll hit on really quick that had good senior bowl weeks, Bryce Betcher from Oregon hit like 400 as a center filter and never made an error at Oregon.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_00]: There's a baseball player and then, you know, moved to linebacker.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_00]: He was another guy ahead.
- 55:13[SPEAKER_00]: He was on the same linebacker roster with the other three guys I've already talked about.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's the senior bowl.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: Same team.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_00]: And Xavier Sory from Arkansas, another guy who I thought had a good week at Senior Bowl.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_00]: Quarter day three guys.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think early day early round four to Cario Davis and Ephesians
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, tested well.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: I just think they're going to be available either late.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're I think they're going to be available late.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_00]: They're around early fourth round day when ever it from Georgia.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_00]: Playmaker on the corner.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're Charles Deming some Stephen F. Austin smaller school guy to kind of watch out for.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: And at safety, I think you start getting this another good group in that middle round area, Kamori Ranzi from Southern Cal, Zeki Wheatley Penn State, VJ Pain from Kansas State, probably going to out for his draft position a lot.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_00]: Genesis Smith from Arizona is another third, fourth, fifth round area guys.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: And a guy who had a great combine, but maybe didn't play as well
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: a name to keep maybe on weight on day three and then you know so those are guys a tier defensive line run stuff or from South Carolina Nick bear I just I haven't talked about a game cock yet yeah I know this is gonna have to happen at some point but but Nick bear I think has some past rush upside but as a run defender stout
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: uh... there uh... small school guy cable proctor from south eastern Louisiana uh... has good tape and then one of the best at athletes at the position uh... this year uh... pinstate transfer to george tech but he's older guy six-year prospect of geordan vandenberg from george tech uh... almost a full-time razz the cheater cheeses
- 57:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, something, another older guy who had to test it great, literally, only day he was at the senior bowl was the senior bowl game.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 57:37[SPEAKER_00]: Because they had so many guys on the interior defense of mine, just leave, they had to bring in like multiple guys to play on the interior defense of mine.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_00]: These guys almost played the whole game.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_00]: And Renee Konga from Louisville.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_00]: Good tape, thank you.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: Solve someone said his PFF pass rush win rate was like 25% Oh wow on the interior, but again, he's a six-thier player of six three right at 300 pounds.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's a mid to late day three guy that you bring in and hope for the best.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's kind of what they did with Joanne Briggs a couple of years back out of Cincinnati and then ended up trading him.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think he was to the jets.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I mean the Browns just have
- 58:24[SPEAKER_02]: Again, defense, everyone said, well, you know, we don't really need anybody on defense, but because I did a whole roster breakdown episode, it's been, it's really thin.
- 58:32[SPEAKER_02]: Once you, I mean, each position, it's like, that's it.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_02]: We only got two guys are going to get hurt.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and you've got to have guys be able to come and take their place.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: You, he definitely do.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_02]: Well, doubt.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_02]: Brian, I really appreciate you jumping on here and talking some draft with me like we do every year.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a ton of fun.
- 58:51[SPEAKER_02]: Was there anything we didn't touch on that you wanted to?
- 58:53[SPEAKER_02]: Did you want to talk about Tyson?
- 58:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we can give the people a little bit.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure they want to say that.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, Tyson says first nine games of this season.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was better than Windows.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: He looked good.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_00]: But then his injury started powering up.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_00]: The problem with Simpson is he has one year as a starter and and that one year six of the nine games he played in were awful.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_00]: So it's I don't know I don't know I can't now that the Rams when the Rams traded 29 to Kansas City, I lost the place to put him in the first round.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't know if I don't project trades in my final mock, which I won't, um, I don't know where I can put it.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_00]: And that worries me because I think he's going to go in the back end of the first round.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't know who is it going to be the jets coming up to get the fifth year option is it going to be Arizona is it going to be
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's the browns.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, so the top of the second, I'm just, I don't know who else it would be.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_00]: Is it, so it's one of those deals where he's going to go somewhere.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: The thing that this quarterback group is not good.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_00]: And Mendoza is going to go one.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_00]: Sipson's going to go somewhere between
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to throw 18 out there and 35 and I've 18 is specific because I've heard some craziness from Minnesota lately and I don't know, maybe maybe not.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's just a little smoke signal going up.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's interesting.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_00]: But so I'll say anywhere 2018 to 35 after that, I'm not convinced that another quarterback goes before round four.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think you could see a team take a flyer on Cole Peyton, the quarterback in North Dakota State.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: You could see a team take a flyer on tail and green, the quarterback from Arkansas.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anything other than that, and you're doing what the Brown said last year with this year's Dylan Gabriel, and that's Garrett and us, Meyer from LSU, whereas you're drafted him know and you're going to get a 10 year backup.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: and that's what he's going to be.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to ask you about Nussmire.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_02]: What about Drew Eller?
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_02]: Because I know Cleveland kids, so there's a lot of people out there, you know, and Cleveland Brown's nation that they love.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_00]: There's that other, there's a, I mentioned lottery ticket with the, the, I gamer who I said it with now.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_00]: uh, Harold Perkins, so it's essentially that's what that is with all right, is as you're drafting a this guy who was what and are those way too early, my drafts was top 15 pick, right?
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_00]: And now the injury and the inconsistent tape are in consistent tape is the wrong word.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: Piss poor tape has to be put out there the last year and a half, the year to last year to
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can't take Drew Allard before round four.
- 1:02:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_02]: Drew Allard's a guy that I've said this and I don't know if you feel the same, but when I go look at his stats for the last two seasons when he was healthy, I'm like, is this the same guy?
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because when I watched him play, I don't feel like he was doing what the stats show.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_02]: The stats look good.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_02]: When I watched him play, I was like, this guy doesn't look very good.
- 1:02:49[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_00]: No, now, granted two years ago, he had Tyler Warren and some guys to throw to.
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_00]: So this year he had some guys and no Tyler Warren.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_02]: It does make a difference for sure.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_02]: It does help, it does help.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_02]: So as far as, and I'll let you go here in a minute, but Tyson's in, like, traits that would make him enticing to a team, like the Browns.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, there is a connection with him in Monkon, from the past and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_02]: But what would the Browns be resting that confidence on, I guess, off of Tyson's in?
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he made throws this year that not many quarterbacks that you're going to see in this draft class make.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_00]: He puts them all in places that you wouldn't think he'd be able to.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's a, I don't think he's much of an athlete, like I think he can move in the pocket, but I don't think he's going to make very many plays down the field, or not sure how many plays he's going to make off script, so to speak, and the same can be said about Mendoza.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_00]: He does it handle pressure up the middle well.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_00]: So that's that's something that's
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_00]: So it's one of those things where if you can protect him up the middle, which I would be concerned that the Browns could do that right now, I think you'll be fine.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I thought the two best places he could go were the Rams and Pittsburgh because he wouldn't have to play.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think a good spot for him, or now that you throw Minnesota out there is interesting because he can play behind Color Murray for a year, or whatever, or if they sign color to like another two-year deal or something in an extension, then Simpson can do the Jordan Love thing and just wait out his rookie contract.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then you can build the team up.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_00]: Around him up the middle and everything.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of that's kind of the good plan, but most NFL teams don't draft quarterbacks with a good plan.
- 1:05:15[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why a lot of these guys don't work out.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, and we're talking about Cleveland specifically, they don't draft quarterbacks seemingly with any plan.
- 1:05:26[SPEAKER_02]: Just kind of
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_02]: road at the wall and see what sticks and even if they're five foot, you know, ten on their tiptoes.
- 1:05:36[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well, hey, at least you guys got Joe Flocke out of that last year, right?
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I'm glad we got him back too.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_00]: I was so glad.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_00]: I was I was very happy.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_00]: I did not think I was going to be
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_00]: happy with that flacco trade but and then then I was like they've got to bring you back.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no.
- 1:05:57[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was a good signing for you guys to get him back.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I like Joe Flacco.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, took us to a playoff run.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's hard to hate the guy.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_02]: He was who's cold dude.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_02]: So good for you guys.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_02]: All right, it will be does have to play.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know what?
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's the truth.
- 1:06:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, as a Browns fan, it's like Oscar, Joe Burrow.
- 1:06:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, as an NFL fan, you want to see the best players out there.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_02]: You want to see the best competition.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's no fun to go play against somebody's back.
- 1:06:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when you're sitting there watching, it's like, okay, this is a really fun plus.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_02]: As a fantasy football, you know, I really love fantasy football.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_02]: That sucks, man.
- 1:06:33[SPEAKER_02]: It sucks for all the past catchers, the running bags, it just sucks for everybody in general on that team.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_02]: Plus we like Joe Burrow, Athens kid, you know, here in Ohio.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
