- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna! Episode 161. Can you believe it? Lucas: I know. And today we're staying in the park, but we're getting hungry. Luna: Ooh, are we buying snacks? I'm in. Lucas: We are. And you know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, a couple of dollars a month is genuinely what keeps these going. Buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, if you've gotten something out of them. Luna: Yeah, every little bit helps us keep making episodes like this one. Lucas: Totally. So today, we're learning how to buy a snack. Let's start simple: 'Quiero un bocadillo.' Luna: Quiero un bocadillo. Lucas: That means 'I want a sandwich.' Perfect for when you're at the park and hungry. Luna: Quiero un bocadillo. I love it. Lucas: Good. Then you'll need to ask the price: '¿Cuánto cuesta?' Luna: ¿Cuánto cuesta? Lucas: Exactly. 'How much does it cost?' Luna: So I'd say 'Quiero un bocadillo. ¿Cuánto cuesta?' Lucas: Yes! And the vendor will tell you the price. Then you hand over money and they say 'Aquí tienes.' Luna: Aquí tienes. Lucas: Here you go. And you respond 'Gracias.' Luna: Gracias. Lucas: And they'll say 'De nada.' Luna: De nada. You're welcome. Okay, let me practice the whole thing. Lucas: Go for it. Luna: Quiero un bocadillo. ¿Cuánto cuesta? Aquí tienes. Gracias. De nada. Lucas: Beautiful. But careful — you said 'Aquí tienes' instead of the vendor. Let's try a mini scene. I'll be the vendor. Luna: Okay. Quiero un bocadillo. Lucas: Son tres euros. Luna: Aquí tienes. Lucas: Aquí tienes — wait, that's my line! You're giving me money, so you say 'Aquí tienes.' But then I give you the sandwich, so I also say 'Aquí tienes.' Luna: Ohh, I see. So both of us can say 'Aquí tienes' at different times. Lucas: Exactly. It works when you hand something over. So you hand me money: 'Aquí tienes.' I hand you the sandwich: 'Aquí tienes.' Luna: Got it. So then I say 'Gracias' and you say 'De nada.' Lucas: Perfect. Let's do it again, full scene. Luna: Quiero un bocadillo. Lucas: Son tres euros. Luna: Aquí tienes. Lucas: Aquí tienes, tu bocadillo. Luna: Gracias. Lucas: De nada. Luna: That felt real! I could totally do that at a park. Lucas: You could. And now you've learned five phrases: Quiero un bocadillo, ¿Cuánto cuesta?, Aquí tienes, Gracias, De nada. Luna: Let me repeat them: Quiero un bocadillo, ¿Cuánto cuesta?, Aquí tienes, Gracias, De nada. Lucas: Flawless. Remember to practice with a friend or in front of a mirror. Repetition is key. Luna: I'll be practicing all day. Thanks, Lucas! Lucas: You're welcome, Luna. And thanks to you for listening. Practice these till we chat again.
