- 0:07Well, you've done it. You've helped me accomplish forty thousand downloads on Spreaker
- 0:14in ten years, which means, folks, we are averaging ten four thousand
- 0:21listeners a year the last ten years. My next quest is to get ten
- 0:29thousand more for fifty thousand. That would be a feature, a goal,
- 0:36and I know you can help me achieve it just by clicking the listen click,
- 0:41by hitting the subscribe click, by sharing this and continuing to help me
- 0:49grow this podcast. I've already believed this podcast has more legs than I do,
- 0:54but now we're starting to see it every day even more. When you
- 0:58see folks like Signal the polling company, tweeting out your show and getting some
- 1:04reposts and likes. When you see podcast guests dot com and podmatch liking your
- 1:14stuff and putting you on their newsletter and mailing lists, and there's a lot.
- 1:19And you know, the irony is, I work at a radio station,
- 1:23but I never really promote my podcast on radio because when I fill in
- 1:27for an Algatulo and we send our prayers to Alan his family for the loss
- 1:33of his mother in law. But when I fill in on these different things,
- 1:41or I guest hot, I guess on one of these different shows,
- 1:45or am I or am commenting. I don't usually make it about the podcast
- 1:49because that's just gonna happen naturally. And maybe I should mention forty thousand plays
- 1:57for one leg up with Alex scar but I like to keep that part of
- 2:02it separate from the actual radio dial. But here we are, forty thousand
- 2:10plays later, many a name changed later, and I'm just fired up to
- 2:16get to fifty thousand about you, but I definitely am. I'm fired up
- 2:23to also get to see another leap year. You know. I did the
- 2:29whole leap Day thing yesterday for February twenty ninth. But yeah, that fires
- 2:32me up to go another four years and see how life goes, and see
- 2:38how health can go in the next four years, and stay healthy as best
- 2:40as I can. So all these little benchmarks become benchmarks when you realize they
- 2:49are inspiring you to keep going in your craft, in your passion. Forty
- 2:55thousand may seem like nothing to a Joe Rogan or even a Pat McAfee who
- 3:01continues to get millions of listeners, but for a smaller content creator means a
- 3:07lot. And for someone who tries to stay on the ground and be in
- 3:13a small town kind of mind with this, knowing that you know, family
- 3:16and friends listen, fiance Gabby listens. But I don't really know how outside
- 3:23of that box we get on this podcast. I know, demographically and geographically
- 3:30we are listening to Outside of America, which is just really special. But
- 3:37at the end of the day, forty k or not, I'm still gonna
- 3:39be that backpacked tote and rollerblader through the city of New York. I'm proud
- 3:45of that. I'm proud of that. But we have hit forty thousand downloads,
- 3:53and that is my update today. I'm so proud of it, so
- 3:58excited for it's so excited to get more guests along the way and maybe,
- 4:01just maybe we have fifty thousand, not by the end of the year,
- 4:05but maybe by next leap year or earlier sooner. Let's see how much this
- 4:11podcast can grow. Can glow up if you will, I hate the word
- 4:14blow up. Can glow up if you will, because as Bruce Springsteen one
- 4:23saying, I was born blue and weathered, but burst just like a supernova.
- 4:33And that's thanks to you, the listener, the friend, the colleague,
- 4:40the guest, my fiance, others in the romantic field the last ten
- 4:48years have been encouraged me along the way as well. Gotta say that,
- 4:54but Gabby is definitely my number one fan and supporter, as she has to
- 5:00listen to me even when I'm home doing this. Although Mom will always be
- 5:05number one, I guess Gabby is they're they're they're equally a number one fan.
- 5:11That is possible, That is possible. And in these ten years and
- 5:16fourty thousand downloads, can't forget that my stepdad Vic set up a studio in
- 5:23my queen's home with microphone and Mike's stand, and boy, during that pandemic,
- 5:28we cranked out a lot of these, didn't we four years ago?
- 5:31Radio Hope Ed and others, Camel Conservative and others. And then of course
- 5:49there was Pops and I'll forget what my pops told me. You know you're
- 5:55one of seven thousand podcasts. How will you stick out, Pops? I'm
- 6:00trying to figure that out every day. But as long as we keep putting
- 6:03something down, laying the tracks down for a podcast, getting that interview done,
- 6:10it's all growing to something bigger. We may not see it yet collectively,
- 6:14but there's something out there bigger. I believe that. I have to
- 6:17believe that for the show, that that exists. Also, so for those
- 6:25who helped make forty thousand downloads possible, I thank you and I look forward
- 6:34to keeping this journey going. And if you wanted to say, financially support
- 6:40along the next ten thousand downloads, dropping my Venmo in the description as well,
- 6:46for you to maybe help support along the way. But listening, even
- 6:53one listener, I'm so grateful for here on the Alex Scarrett Podcast Network
