- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherri Mackey.
- 0:04Speaker 1: It is time right now for Today's Word. Available. Not perfect.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Second Corinthians 520 says, so we are Christ's ambassadors. God
- 0:15Speaker 1: is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ
- 0:19Speaker 1: when we plead, come back to God. For God made
- 0:22Speaker 1: Christ who never sinned to be the offering of our
- 0:26Speaker 1: sin so that we could be made right with God
- 0:30Speaker 1: through Christ. You know, sometimes we look at the lives
- 0:33Speaker 1: of great men and women of God and become intimidated
- 0:36Speaker 1: by their accomplishments. We hear their testimonies. We see the
- 0:40Speaker 1: impact of their ministries. And we watch God use them
- 0:45Speaker 1: in extraordinary ways. And we think, Lord, I know you
- 0:49Speaker 1: called me, but I could never do anything like that.
- 0:53Speaker 1: But here's something you need to remember. God has never
- 0:56Speaker 1: required you to be perfect. before he can use you.
- 1:00Speaker 1: In fact, scripture is filled with imperfect people whom God
- 1:04Speaker 1: used for extraordinary purposes. Moses had excuses, y'all. David made
- 1:10Speaker 1: serious mistakes. Peter denied Jesus. Paul once even persecuted the
- 1:15Speaker 1: very people he would later have to serve. Yet God
- 1:18Speaker 1: still chose them. He still transformed them. He still used
- 1:22Speaker 1: their lives to accomplish his purposes. Why? Because God is
- 1:27Speaker 1: not looking for people who have everything figured out. He's
- 1:30Speaker 1: looking for people who are willing to surrender what they
- 1:33Speaker 1: have to him. The Bible says that God chooses the
- 1:36Speaker 1: weak and seemingly foolish things of the world to confound
- 1:41Speaker 1: the wise. Why would he do that? So that when
- 1:45Speaker 1: something powerful happens through our lives, we will know it
- 1:48Speaker 1: was God. Maybe you've been disqualifying yourself because of your past.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Maybe you know your weaknesses. Maybe you remember the mistakes
- 1:57Speaker 1: you made, the opportunities you mishandled, and the times you
- 2:01Speaker 1: just didn't get it right. But your weaknesses don't surprise God.
- 2:05Speaker 1: He knew everything about you before he called you. That
- 2:09Speaker 1: means you don't have to spend the rest of your
- 2:11Speaker 1: life saying, I'm not good enough. Instead, say, God, here
- 2:15Speaker 1: I am. You can use me. Your availability can become
- 2:20Speaker 1: more powerful than your ability when you place it in
- 2:24Speaker 1: God's hands. You may not preach to thousands. You can
- 2:27Speaker 1: encourage one person, though. You may not stand behind a pulpit,
- 2:31Speaker 1: but you can stand beside somebody who's hurting. You may
- 2:34Speaker 1: not have a platform, but you do have influence. Your home,
- 2:38Speaker 1: your workplace, your neighborhood, your church, and every conversation can
- 2:43Speaker 1: become opportunity for you to represent Christ. And remember, because
- 2:48Speaker 1: being used by God isn't about becoming somebody else. It's
- 2:51Speaker 1: about allowing God to use who he created you to be.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So you stay humble. You stay teachable. You stay available.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Don't compare your assignment to someone else's. Don't allow their
- 3:06Speaker 1: accomplishments to to make you feel insignificant. God has a
- 3:10Speaker 1: purpose for your life too. He doesn't need a perfect vessel.
- 3:13Speaker 1: He needs a surrendered vessel. So today, stop disqualifying yourself.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Lift your hands and say, Lord, I'm available. Work through me.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Use my gifts. Use my story. Use my experience. my
- 3:27Speaker 1: imperfections for your glory. When we make ourselves available to God,
- 3:32Speaker 1: oh my goodness, we'll be amazed at what he can
- 3:35Speaker 1: accomplish through our lives. Father, thank you for choosing us,
- 3:38Speaker 1: even us. Though you know every weakness, mistake, and imperfection
- 3:43Speaker 1: in our lives, thank you that our past does not
- 3:46Speaker 1: disqualify us from the purpose that you placed on the
- 3:49Speaker 1: inside of us. Help us to stop comparing ourselves to
- 3:52Speaker 1: others and stop believing that we have to be perfect
- 3:55Speaker 1: before you can use us. Keep us humble, teachable, and surrendered.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Use our gifts, our testimonies, our experiences, and even the
- 4:02Speaker 1: places where we've struggled to encourage and bless somebody else.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Let our lives represent Jesus wherever we may go. God,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we may not have everything together, but we are available.
- 4:14Speaker 1: So use us for your glory in Jesus' name. Now
- 4:17Speaker 1: that's your word for today. Take it apply to your
- 4:19Speaker 1: everyday life and you continue to be encouraged and inspired.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's your early morning praise party. I am Sherri Mackey.
