- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, Hello everybody, Welcome to the Lynching Taco Morning
- 0:03Speaker 1: Show podcast called Off the Air, our final podcast for
- 0:08Speaker 1: twenty twenty five.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Taco Bob, it's weird to say that, isn't it. When
- 0:13Speaker 2: I said it earlier on the show, I was like,
- 0:15Speaker 2: it's kind of I'll just say.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Well, we've been commenting all year how quickly the year
- 0:19Speaker 1: has flown by, and while here we are in the
- 0:22Speaker 1: waning stages of it.
- 0:23Speaker 2: And I'm not the We're not the only ones that
- 0:25Speaker 2: think that. I've talked to so many other people who
- 0:28Speaker 2: have right out together.
- 0:29Speaker 1: God, this year is flying, no doubt.
- 0:32Speaker 2: It truly is no doubt.
- 0:34Speaker 1: So wherever we go today, we go feel free. If
- 0:38Speaker 1: you're watching this as it happens, to chime in with
- 0:41Speaker 1: the Facebook live comments section, or if you want to
- 0:44Speaker 1: text us at two two five, two six, we have
- 0:45Speaker 1: that avenue open as well. Whatever works best for you.
- 0:49Speaker 1: So holiday plans, Taco Bob, I think I had asked you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: You're you're staying local? Hi, You're not doing anything?
- 0:56Speaker 2: No, Normally, you know, I'll like shoot down to the
- 0:59Speaker 2: keys or or something like that, but it's I'm looking
- 1:03Speaker 2: for something real quick. It's one of those things where
- 1:05Speaker 2: I'm like, well, I have something, let's say on Tuesday
- 1:09Speaker 2: of next week, so that would ruin a trip to
- 1:12Speaker 2: the Keys. Then I have something, well Thursday is Christmas, correct,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and then so that that takes and then that weekend
- 1:22Speaker 2: I have a golf chart annual golf tournament chair.
- 1:25Speaker 1: So the answer is local. Yeah. I had to know.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I really had to think about it because I have
- 1:29Speaker 2: some planned every two days an event. So I'm kind
- 1:33Speaker 2: of like stuck between a rock and.
- 1:34Speaker 1: A hard place.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Where it's great, they're fun events, but I'm also oh,
- 1:38Speaker 2: I'll get deeper on that in a second, but I'm
- 1:39Speaker 2: also kind of humhm h. I can't do a Keys
- 1:43Speaker 2: trip in two days. That just sucks. But it all
- 1:47Speaker 2: depends also how my how my physical goes. I think
- 1:50Speaker 2: I'm gonna get frigging riot acted today.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Oh is it your annual physical?
- 1:55Speaker 2: Huh?
- 1:55Speaker 1: Boy, you pushed that late as far as you late
- 1:57Speaker 1: in the year as you could.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Huh. That's just when I scheduled it, which my buddies
- 2:02Speaker 2: pointed out, they said, why do you do it in December?
- 2:05Speaker 2: I don't know. I need to reschedule it till like
- 2:08Speaker 2: February for next year or what. I'm sure I'm gonna
- 2:11Speaker 2: be going back in February after they get my results.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But I did it real, I did it what. I
- 2:16Speaker 2: went a happy hour last night, but I did my
- 2:19Speaker 2: I did my annual physical. I'm doing it real. I'm
- 2:21Speaker 2: gonna tell the doctor. I'm gonna say, look, I'm following apart, doc, now,
- 2:26Speaker 2: I'm in great shape, go to the gym each day.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I'm talking about my insides. I have a feeling a
- 2:32Speaker 2: little thing that starts with an L might have an issue.
- 2:36Speaker 2: And it ain't my laby because I ain't got them
- 2:38Speaker 2: little pissies. But anyway, no, my lever. I have a
- 2:43Speaker 2: feeling that. But I'm gonna tell them.
- 2:46Speaker 1: If you've been taking your milk thistle.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah I have, and I got that. I heard about
- 2:50Speaker 2: this new stuff called dose and that that stuff's supposed
- 2:53Speaker 2: to like be awesome for for your body and everything.
- 2:57Speaker 2: But it's ten bucks a pill or a packet. So anyway,
- 3:03Speaker 2: I'm just gonna tell my doctor.
- 3:04Speaker 1: What is making you think you have a liver issue?
- 3:06Speaker 2: Because I drink a lot, so I'm hey, well, I'm
- 3:08Speaker 2: gonna talk to the doctor and say, look, I did
- 3:11Speaker 2: I'm just doing a true reading of where I am
- 3:15Speaker 2: and if you're probably not gonna like it whatever. I
- 3:17Speaker 2: just I'm sponsored by a beer company. I like to party,
- 3:22Speaker 2: you know. I don't smoke crank, so there's some upsides
- 3:26Speaker 2: and I'm just gonna see what it looks like. You know,
- 3:29Speaker 2: I drink plenty of water, so yeah, that could change
- 3:34Speaker 2: vacation a little bit. That charity golf turn is great
- 3:36Speaker 2: because it's for charity, but that golf tourna is really
- 3:39Speaker 2: gonna suck if I can't drink. But I'll just probably
- 3:41Speaker 2: eat a gummy. Think if I gotta quit drinking, I'll
- 3:44Speaker 2: go to gummies.
- 3:46Speaker 1: You're at the level where you think the doctor may
- 3:49Speaker 1: tell you have to quit drinking. First it was a
- 3:50Speaker 1: smoking and now no more drinking. I guess now, I
- 3:53Speaker 1: couldn't even imagine that version of you.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I don't think that he'd say that. Okay, I mean,
- 3:59Speaker 2: I don't want to get personal and hip of stuff
- 4:01Speaker 2: with your health and whatever.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I got questions later, I'll talk about whatever you want.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Are you talking about the liver? Yeah?
- 4:09Speaker 2: Did they tell you you have to quit drinking?
- 4:11Speaker 1: No? My liver is in fantastic condition. Cool, it has
- 4:15Speaker 1: been for about three years.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Perfect.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I meant.
- 4:18Speaker 2: I meant at one point did they tell you that?
- 4:20Speaker 2: I remember when it was not in fantastic.
- 4:23Speaker 1: There was actually about a six month period where I
- 4:26Speaker 1: was very, very very concerned.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Did they tell you though, Hey, you need to stop drinking.
- 4:32Speaker 2: That's what I want to Uh.
- 4:33Speaker 1: It was a combination of several things. That was one
- 4:35Speaker 1: of them, and the word was The word stop was
- 4:38Speaker 1: never used. It was moderate yourself. And I have done that,
- 4:43Speaker 1: and I've made a conscious effort to do that, and
- 4:48Speaker 1: it's made all the difference in the world.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Figures, I do need to change mind from December, the
- 4:53Speaker 2: end of December to February, because February it's easier. Football
- 4:58Speaker 2: season's done, you know, we're not going out with beer
- 5:03Speaker 2: companies and everything, and then for football. And also I
- 5:06Speaker 2: can try that thing they called dry January. I think
- 5:09Speaker 2: I might try it. I think the Doc's gonna probably
- 5:11Speaker 2: tell me to but I think I might try it
- 5:13Speaker 2: and start h January fifth, first day we're back at work, okay,
- 5:21Speaker 2: because I have stuff leading up to the fourth going
- 5:25Speaker 2: on a fishing trip, right, all involves drinking rights. What
- 5:29Speaker 2: do you do when you're out in the boat fishing,
- 5:32Speaker 2: That's it. You got a gold star for the correct answer.
- 5:37Speaker 1: They're advocating on Facebook to's just quit drinking and smoke weed. Dude.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Of course that are always the answer, always the answer. Right, Well, well,
- 5:47Speaker 1: good luck man. Maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised and everything
- 5:50Speaker 1: will be all right.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:52Speaker 1: What's the thing you always tell me, worrying about it
- 5:55Speaker 1: is praying for it to right.
- 5:57Speaker 2: And I'm not gonna worry. I was a little concerned
- 6:00Speaker 2: and going into it, and that's why I said, f it.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I'll get a happy hour with you guys. But so
- 6:06Speaker 2: that's my vacation plans. What suped you?
- 6:10Speaker 1: I had a very interesting scenario present itself within the
- 6:13Speaker 1: last twelve hours. You're gonna love this, Okay, Well, I
- 6:17Speaker 1: knew you were going to Kansas, driving out to Kansas City, Kansas,
- 6:21Speaker 1: which is where my daughter lives. Yes, there's a Kansas City,
- 6:24Speaker 1: Kansas and a Kansas City, Missouri. They're right next to
- 6:26Speaker 1: each other on the state line.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Wait, does your dog have diarrhea? What you said I
- 6:32Speaker 2: was gonna love this? I thought maybe because my buddy
- 6:35Speaker 2: was doing a trip to North.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Florida where that come from.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Because you said you're gonna love this and I'm thinking
- 6:41Speaker 2: what my buddy Brian had to do. His dogs had
- 6:44Speaker 2: diarrhea and they had to drive to Tennessee. Said they
- 6:46Speaker 2: had to postpone the trip two days.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So if our dog Otis is coming along for the trip,
- 6:51Speaker 1: he does not have diarrhea that I'm aware of, and
- 6:53Speaker 1: he loves being in the truck, so we should be
- 6:56Speaker 1: fine anyway. Uh No, it involves something in Kansas City
- 7:00Speaker 1: that you love, Bandwagon.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Bob Oh, Kansas City Chiefs.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So my daughter hits me yesterday and says, uh, I
- 7:12Speaker 1: want to go to the Chiefs game on Christmas Night
- 7:15Speaker 1: at Arrowhead Stadium. And I hadn't thought about it. It's
- 7:20Speaker 1: funny because Bob is, you know, a big Chiefs fan. Obviously,
- 7:23Speaker 1: the Chiefs now know they're out of the playoffs. Patrick
- 7:25Speaker 1: Mahomes done for the season, and they just had a horrible,
- 7:29Speaker 1: horrible year. Even last weekend there was some empty seats,
- 7:32Speaker 1: which I commented on earlier in the week empty seats
- 7:36Speaker 1: at Arrowhead which you don't have, you don't ever see.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So that is now being reflected in the ticket market,
- 7:44Speaker 1: where as of yesterday, thirty bucks and I told her,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I said, yes, let's do that Christmas night game. I said,
- 7:52Speaker 1: let's do that. Don't get the tickets yet, though, I said,
- 7:54Speaker 1: we can get him even cheaper. I'm telling you, once
- 7:57Speaker 1: we get closer, they'll be even cheaper.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Aren't you going to be full? And you know Christmas
- 8:02Speaker 2: night because you're eating Christmas lunch or dinner, you know,
- 8:06Speaker 2: your Christmas feast.
- 8:08Speaker 1: We'll say, well, yeah, I mean, but it's not like Thanksgiving, man,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I mean we're we're maybe we'll have Christmas Eve dinner
- 8:14Speaker 1: instead of you know, blowing it up big on Christmas Day.
- 8:17Speaker 1: But that's I'm just saying. You being the Chiefs fan
- 8:21Speaker 1: and me really not liking the Chiefs, but I have
- 8:24Speaker 1: a great appreciation for their their you know, their organization,
- 8:28Speaker 1: the Arrowhead Stadium, the craziness of the crowd and the
- 8:32Speaker 1: whole scene. I want to take that in.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Oh yeah, who's their quarterback?
- 8:36Speaker 1: It'll be Gardner Minshew the mustache. They are playing the Broncos,
- 8:41Speaker 1: so it could be a blowout, could be an absolute blowout.
- 8:45Speaker 2: That's sell slaughter.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Do I have the balls to go and openly root
- 8:50Speaker 1: for the Broncos, who I really don't give a rat
- 8:52Speaker 1: sass about either? Or should I just sit on my
- 8:55Speaker 1: hands just sit on my hands, just watch.
- 8:58Speaker 2: The game, and you cheer for each team who cares well. No,
- 9:04Speaker 2: I wouldn't be cheering for Denver in there. Kansas City
- 9:07Speaker 2: people are chill. Well, that's pretty chill.
- 9:10Speaker 1: They're they're hardcore when it comes to the Chiefs. Oh
- 9:13Speaker 1: I know. So anyway, so it looks like we're gonna
- 9:16Speaker 1: end up doing that on Christmas night. That was not
- 9:18Speaker 1: in the game plan originally for the trip.
- 9:20Speaker 2: You'll have to follow up with everybody and let us
- 9:22Speaker 2: know what you end up getting them for.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Now I'm confident they'll be uh, significantly less than that.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Just stop and think about it. I think I mentioned
- 9:33Speaker 1: this to Mark Daniels in the hallway conversation. It's like
- 9:36Speaker 1: I told him what I just told you, and he goes,
- 9:38Speaker 1: oh god, he goes, you could probably walk up and
- 9:41Speaker 1: get him for ten bucks outside the stadium day of
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know if I want to risk
- 9:45Speaker 1: that play paying for parking.
- 9:46Speaker 2: And then how far is the stadium too from where
- 9:49Speaker 2: my daughter lives?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Yeah ten minutes, I don't know, Yeah, ten minutes.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Ten minutes. So you could just as you're driving up
- 9:56Speaker 2: get tickets from somebody, you know, on the side of
- 9:58Speaker 2: the roads doing it. You haven't even paid for.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Park yet, so we'll see. But that should be fun.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and secure of the tickets. I know you, and
- 10:05Speaker 2: you're going to be stressed if you don't, if you
- 10:09Speaker 2: wait until like day of to try to walk up.
- 10:11Speaker 1: And I know you'll look at me like I'm crazy
- 10:13Speaker 1: when I say this, and many of you will think
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm crazy when I say this. But the weather is
- 10:16Speaker 1: going to be incredibly warm for this time of year,
- 10:20Speaker 1: not only there in the Kansas City area, but a
- 10:22Speaker 1: good chunk of the country Christmas Day there right now,
- 10:26Speaker 1: the forecast says high have sixty eight degrees about twenty
- 10:30Speaker 1: five degrees off.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so uh well, I mean, what's it going
- 10:35Speaker 2: to be seventy seven here right?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Well? I was hoping that, you know, we'd have a
- 10:38Speaker 1: little bit of a Christmas feel while we were there,
- 10:41Speaker 1: but it doesn't look like it's going to be. Although
- 10:44Speaker 1: for the driving part of it, I'll take the forecast.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I wouldn't have been too crazy about driving through snow
- 10:50Speaker 1: or ice, which could could have been a real possibility
- 10:53Speaker 1: this time of year.
- 10:53Speaker 2: And that's what I asked you at the beginning, when
- 10:55Speaker 2: you first said that you were going to Kansas for this, uh,
- 10:58Speaker 2: to visit the daughters. Oh, are you a little concerned
- 11:02Speaker 2: about driving on ice? Because if it's me, I've done it.
- 11:05Speaker 1: But I don't like it, so that's not even gonna
- 11:08Speaker 1: factor and so I'm not worried about it. So bottom
- 11:11Speaker 1: line is, in the span of about six months, I
- 11:13Speaker 1: will have gone to a Kansas City Royals game and
- 11:16Speaker 1: now a Chiefs game. Stadiums are right next door to
- 11:18Speaker 1: each other.
- 11:19Speaker 2: He went to the Royals game because he was hot
- 11:21Speaker 2: dog night.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Dollar hot dog Night. That was back in July.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 11:25Speaker 1: That was awesome, man. Yeah. The funny part about that was,
- 11:30Speaker 1: you know, you go it was again. It was me,
- 11:32Speaker 1: the wife and the daughter. We go to the Royals game,
- 11:34Speaker 1: dollar hot dog Night. We all get a you know,
- 11:36Speaker 1: a couple of hot dogs when we go in.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And you know, so you're at six Bucks. It's perfect.
- 11:43Speaker 1: You want anything to drink? Yeah, you're in.
- 11:46Speaker 2: A baseball game.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah, then back to my story, you gotta have a
- 11:50Speaker 1: cold beer top in the fourteen dollars beers all of
- 11:53Speaker 1: a sudden, dollar hot dog Night. It's such a great
- 11:55Speaker 1: deal anymore.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Eh, you know, take one with the other.
- 11:59Speaker 1: So anyway, so that's that's the latest development for our
- 12:03Speaker 1: trip out to Case.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Okay, so the schedule give or take, so you drive
- 12:10Speaker 2: where you stop in the first night we're plowing.
- 12:13Speaker 1: We're gonna leave on Monday morning at two am, which
- 12:17Speaker 1: is about when I usually start my day. So the
- 12:19Speaker 1: thought process here is leave it when I usually start
- 12:24Speaker 1: my day for work, which is two am, put a
- 12:27Speaker 1: lot of miles under us, and do the bulk of
- 12:28Speaker 1: the driving the first day. We're going to stay uh
- 12:31Speaker 1: in Paducah, Kentucky for the first overnight. Then we'll have
- 12:34Speaker 1: a very short second day to close in on Kansas City.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Okay, good, I like the angle.
- 12:40Speaker 1: My wife can sleep for you know, the bulk of
- 12:42Speaker 1: the night time driving, and you know, just get out
- 12:45Speaker 1: of state of Florida, hopefully passed Atlanta before rush hour.
- 12:48Speaker 2: H ah. Yeah, that's the plan, because yeah, I got you,
- 12:52Speaker 2: that's the plan day wise. Cool.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I hope you guys have a good trip there. Did
- 12:57Speaker 1: and then coming back, we're gonna I split it right
- 13:01Speaker 1: in half and stop in uh Chattanooga for the overnight.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it gets you. It gets you some Tennessee in.
- 13:06Speaker 1: There, and uh in fact, it was funny. Last time
- 13:09Speaker 1: we drove up there and we went through Chattanooga, I'm like,
- 13:11Speaker 1: I like this area. I like this area because we're
- 13:15Speaker 1: looking ultimately to land in Tennessee down the road. So
- 13:19Speaker 1: we spend a little extra time there this trip.
- 13:21Speaker 2: That's okay. That was gonna be my question because last
- 13:24Speaker 2: time you spend a little extra time there.
- 13:26Speaker 1: In another part of Tennessee that we we thought we
- 13:29Speaker 1: might have interesting. I was like, nah, uh huh, but this,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you know, we'll see. Well, Chattanooga's nice, man, it's awesome. Yeah,
- 13:34Speaker 1: it's awesome.
- 13:35Speaker 2: So anyway, I was gonna ask you something about this show.
- 13:38Speaker 1: But that's the holiday plan.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, New Year's Eve, will you still be there? No,
- 13:44Speaker 2: we'll be back for New Year's Okay, we're just going
- 13:47Speaker 2: a week, okay, cool. I'll keep an eye on things.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I appreciate that.
- 13:54Speaker 2: All right, So on I that might I mean literally, Pat,
- 13:57Speaker 2: I'll keep an eye on things because I get again,
- 14:05Speaker 2: you know, to day, I'm not worried about it whatever.
- 14:10Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, looked at last night. I can't believe
- 14:17Speaker 2: you went out with us and you have your physical advice.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I said, well, it's the last time. We'll all hang
- 14:22Speaker 2: out before the before the new year, and you know everybody,
- 14:26Speaker 2: all of them are going half of them are going away.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And what, well you you said something I don't even
- 14:31Speaker 1: know if you realize what you said, it really makes
- 14:35Speaker 1: a lot of sense. You're like, you know what, I'll
- 14:38Speaker 1: just go and get results based on how I normally
- 14:40Speaker 1: just handle myself day to day. So you're gonna get
- 14:45Speaker 1: You're gonna get a more accurate baseline of what you
- 14:47Speaker 1: need to work on or maybe don't have any concerns
- 14:49Speaker 1: about needlessly connies.
- 14:52Speaker 2: That's exactly why I said what I said, and I've
- 14:54Speaker 2: said that to those guys too before Happy Hour. Then
- 14:57Speaker 2: I said it at Happy hour when somebody asked me there,
- 15:00Speaker 2: I was like, get a true reading. Why bullshit him
- 15:03Speaker 2: the whole way.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Like all you guys, how many beers last night?
- 15:06Speaker 2: One of my hollowhim? Before I answered that, let me
- 15:09Speaker 2: think one of my buddies does his February because every
- 15:14Speaker 2: year he does dry January. This is wild Bill. He
- 15:17Speaker 2: is the most tripped out dude.
- 15:19Speaker 1: So he's trying to throw the curve off.
- 15:20Speaker 2: He's like seventy three years old, has a full genius,
- 15:24Speaker 2: has a full bag of mushrooms in his freezer. Yeah. Yeah,
- 15:28Speaker 2: he's a trip. But anyway, so he Yeah, he throws
- 15:31Speaker 2: the curve off by doing dry Jenuine the February. But anyway,
- 15:35Speaker 2: he's healthy. He goes to gym every day and it
- 15:37Speaker 2: looks good. So h how many beers I have last night?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Not many? I wasn't.
- 15:43Speaker 2: It wasn't purposely. I just knew that, you know, I
- 15:45Speaker 2: didn't want to get sauce on a weekday night, Wednesday night.
- 15:50Speaker 2: So I, uh what three?
- 15:55Speaker 3: Three, four?
- 15:56Speaker 2: And then one at a different place than our friends in.
- 15:59Speaker 1: How many before you want?
- 16:00Speaker 2: None?
- 16:01Speaker 1: None? Okay? Do you drink beer every day?
- 16:04Speaker 2: I usually have a beer with lunch. I drink at
- 16:07Speaker 2: night too. Sorry, that's a comedians. Do you drink beer
- 16:10Speaker 2: every day? I drink at night at night?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah? Okay, all right, well be curious. You'll have to
- 16:16Speaker 1: let us know if oh yeah, if you're gonna have
- 16:19Speaker 1: to make a drastic change.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, change is good if I had to, All right, yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Sweet, you haven't even started your Christmas shopping you mentioned earlier.
- 16:30Speaker 1: You haven't done nothing yet.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I gave my dollar. We told our daughters. Really, look man,
- 16:34Speaker 2: two of you in college even though they have scholarship
- 16:37Speaker 2: stuff and whatever, it's expensive still, and we told them, look,
- 16:42Speaker 2: things are a little tight this year compared to normal.
- 16:45Speaker 2: So and usually we get a big check from my
- 16:48Speaker 2: parents my anyway, long story with that, but so I
- 16:53Speaker 2: just we figured out, hey, girls, you're gonna get two
- 16:57Speaker 2: fifty each. You can either buy your own stuff or
- 17:00Speaker 2: we can pick it out, but we're not going above
- 17:02Speaker 2: two fifty. So I had the younger one I sent,
- 17:04Speaker 2: I asked her she needed I fired off two fifty.
- 17:07Speaker 2: So I've venmoed that I'm done, and then I'm gonna
- 17:10Speaker 2: get a gift card for my wife, probably after my physical.
- 17:13Speaker 1: The gift of cash is more and more desired. I've
- 17:17Speaker 1: seen a lot of pieces on that here in the
- 17:18Speaker 1: last few weeks where people are like, we need cash. Yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 1: if you want to get me something, cash the best
- 17:24Speaker 1: you know. I've always thought that, and and the people
- 17:28Speaker 1: will go whether there's no creativity or thought put into that.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Who gives a shit. It's thought that it's in my
- 17:35Speaker 2: bank and I can get my hedges cut.
- 17:37Speaker 1: And what it does is it frees you up to
- 17:39Speaker 1: do whatever you want with that cash. That's it. That
- 17:42Speaker 1: should be fantastic.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, so anyway, precisely, and that's what we told him.
- 17:46Speaker 2: That's been my argument for years. You knew that with
- 17:49Speaker 2: Remember my wife said, you're just not thoughtful that you
- 17:53Speaker 2: just get me a gift card every for every event.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I said, because I want you to be able to
- 17:59Speaker 2: buy what you want. If I go buy you a
- 18:02Speaker 2: pair of panties, you're gonna have granny panties. You know
- 18:04Speaker 2: what I'm saying, You're gonna have. I'm not good at
- 18:07Speaker 2: that shit. That's not my forte.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I've done through trial and error over the years, attempting
- 18:12Speaker 1: to go into certain gift categories and go to buy
- 18:16Speaker 1: something for you know, I'll use my wife as an example,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and she's the return queen and she makes no bones
- 18:24Speaker 1: about it. You know. I'd give her something and she'll go, oh,
- 18:28Speaker 1: that's you know, and I can read her body language immediately.
- 18:32Speaker 1: All right, I missed the mark again. God damn it.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Hey, you know, I know that's how it is with
- 18:37Speaker 2: my mom when she gives us stuff and she has
- 18:39Speaker 2: the costco receipts in there if you need to do whatever.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Did you hear about the return penalties where you do
- 18:49Speaker 2: different stores like Target, Oh.
- 18:50Speaker 1: They've shortened the window on when you can return stuff.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I know a lot of reha and also yeah, there's
- 18:54Speaker 2: some some about receipts and money involved that you'll need
- 18:58Speaker 2: to pay if you're returning to nip in the bud
- 19:01Speaker 2: the football. Yeah, google it, just to nip in the bud.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Somebody buying for the Super Bowl a big TV and
- 19:08Speaker 2: then returning it the next.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Day, that is that's that dick. That is an ass
- 19:12Speaker 1: bag dick move. And you know every year when this
- 19:15Speaker 1: comes up, we always get a few folks who are like, yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 1: I do that. I don't think twice about it.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Man, give returning into damn TV with some nacho cheese
- 19:25Speaker 2: on on it. Now.
- 19:28Speaker 1: The other thing, too, is let's be realistic. If you
- 19:30Speaker 1: really really want to get a new TV, there's the
- 19:35Speaker 1: prices on those things. You may not get the greatest
- 19:38Speaker 1: with all the bells and whistles cheap, you can get
- 19:41Speaker 1: a big ass TV for relatively cheap.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Now you want to hear the return thing and we
- 19:46Speaker 2: may want to do this.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Where is this set? Uh? Here we go bringing up tomorrow.
- 19:51Speaker 1: On the last show, I.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Was thinking, uh, Christmas music, Yeah, look have some hot
- 20:00Speaker 3: black chick check Christmas shop and pat.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Here's a list of retailers that have return fees and
- 20:06Speaker 2: how much they charge, according to Yahoo Shopping and Parade.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I'm going to read you from the get go, so
- 20:14Speaker 2: I don't step in it by just headlining. You know.
- 20:17Speaker 2: While some retailers will waive those fees if you drop
- 20:20Speaker 2: off your returns in person, or if you or if
- 20:23Speaker 2: you're a rewards member, the majority of the retailers have
- 20:27Speaker 2: some kind some kind of policy where there's going to
- 20:30Speaker 2: be a fee for returns. Three to four months of
- 20:33Speaker 2: all three to four or sorry, three fourths of all
- 20:37Speaker 2: retailers imposed some kind of return fee, according to National
- 20:41Speaker 2: Retail Federation. Here's a list of retailers. Best Buy forty
- 20:45Speaker 2: five bucks, Marshall's eleven ninety nine, TJ Max eleven ninety nine,
- 20:49Speaker 2: Macy's nine ninety nine, j C Pennies eight dollars, Jay
- 20:53Speaker 2: Crew seven point fifty.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Buy your crap through Amazon, buy it through they Amazon,
- 21:00Speaker 1: and I believe is doing it too, Amazon doing return
- 21:03Speaker 1: for you.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say that for sure. Let me let it.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I said, I think, and if these retailers are doing
- 21:09Speaker 1: that and they want to start complaining about, well, Amazon's
- 21:12Speaker 1: putting out a business. Well, hello, look in the mirror.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You're doing stuff like that. It's not consumer friendly.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I'll forward this to you. They're chucky.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Love to learn more about that. I'm not that really
- 21:22Speaker 1: worried about it, because I don't think I'm going to
- 21:24Speaker 1: really have anything to return.
- 21:25Speaker 2: No, I know that if Costco that I'd be screwed,
- 21:27Speaker 2: because my mom will get me golf clubs again, even
- 21:29Speaker 2: though I don't even though it use golf clubs.
- 21:32Speaker 1: How many times does she bought you golf clubs every Christmas?
- 21:35Speaker 2: No, I can't say that.
- 21:37Speaker 1: She's got dozens of bags of golf clubs in its garage.
- 21:41Speaker 1: No gloves, oh gloves. I thought you club not clubs.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Holy if she would buy me golf clubs, then I
- 21:48Speaker 2: would be returning. I go, oh yeah, Patty, oh yeah, seriously.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I mean, you can get a deal on Calloway's at
- 22:00Speaker 2: Costco and that's still I think, like six hundred bucks.
- 22:04Speaker 2: All right, I'm some copying this for you. Okay, still
- 22:07Speaker 2: a little read on it. I know you're not shopping
- 22:09Speaker 2: in those retailers because you're done with yours, right, I'm done?
- 22:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I have one delivery that is scheduled to be
- 22:15Speaker 1: here tomorrow and if that shows up on time, everything seamless,
- 22:19Speaker 1: buttoned up, good to go.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Oh you know what I have to do. I have
- 22:22Speaker 2: to get my tips for my like I tipped loope
- 22:27Speaker 2: or cleaning lady yesterday I tipped. I need to get
- 22:30Speaker 2: tip money for the yard guy Doyle say goodbye's weed
- 22:36Speaker 2: mailman trash cut. Yeah, I gotta get cash for him
- 22:39Speaker 2: because I'm not going to write them checks.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Let's not start the tipping debate.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Oh no, we're not debating. Okay, I'm just saying what
- 22:45Speaker 2: I have to do about you?
