- 0:07Speaker 2: Good morning for the Virginia Mason Athletics Center. Seahawks training
- 0:10Speaker 2: camp headlines. I brought to you by Frost Brewed, Corslight,
- 0:12Speaker 2: Choos Chill. Seahawks training Camp practice number fourteen today. Number
- 0:16Speaker 2: thirteen was the annual FanFest. On Saturday night at Lumenfield,
- 0:20Speaker 2: Jedari and Price did not practice for the second day
- 0:22Speaker 2: in a row. Coach Mike McDonald said this of the
- 0:25Speaker 2: lead running back and rookie first round pick If Travis
- 0:28Speaker 2: says that.
- 0:32Speaker 3: All right, I thought it was sorry. Actually actually just
- 0:35Speaker 3: turned over the board to me.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Yeah, we've got a little bit behind the curtains sometimes.
- 0:41Speaker 2: He said it was minor. He said it's upper leg soreness.
- 0:44Speaker 2: He thinks he's going to be back in a matter
- 0:46Speaker 2: of days. Nothing to see here is basically what Mike
- 0:49Speaker 2: McDonald said on Saturday night. The star of the Saturday
- 0:52Speaker 2: practice was Aj Finley. He intercepted Sam Donald almost a
- 0:55Speaker 2: year to the day that Finley brew at his knee
- 0:57Speaker 2: at the same event missed all of last season. Story
- 1:00Speaker 2: on the safety Ajfinley is up at the Neewstribune dot Com.
- 1:03Speaker 2: We can talk about it later in the show as well.
- 1:06Speaker 2: The Seahawks reportedly hosted former Lions first round pick Terry
- 1:09Speaker 2: on Arnold, the cornerback, on a free agent visit, for
- 1:12Speaker 2: the second time. Yesterday. Detroit cut its starting cornerback after
- 1:16Speaker 2: he posted a one million dollar bond while charged with
- 1:19Speaker 2: eight felonies in Florida for alleged kidnapping and robbery charges.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Arnold's reportingly visiting the Saints today as well. We will
- 1:29Speaker 2: talk about this and your thoughts on this.
- 1:32Speaker 3: The Mariners.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I'm not gonna do what the previous show did go
- 1:37Speaker 2: on about the Mariners, and I'm not going to defend
- 1:39Speaker 2: Jerry Poto. Nope, opposite thinking there Man, seven games under
- 1:44Speaker 2: five hundred got swept by Tampa Bay over their fiftieth
- 1:47Speaker 2: anniversary weekend. I was in the yard on Friday and
- 1:49Speaker 2: it was bleak.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:51Speaker 2: They were booing them. Those were loud booze Friday night,
- 1:53Speaker 2: forty thousand people booing it. One time I would say
- 1:55Speaker 2: on Saturday, I had hope they boo then too.
- 1:59Speaker 4: They didn't, but there was a walk off potential situation
- 2:03Speaker 4: going on and didn't happen.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Nope.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Nope, no booze first and second. Nobody out your number
- 2:09Speaker 2: nine rookie hitter who's hitting one eighty. Let's have him
- 2:12Speaker 2: swing away.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Let's see how that goes.
- 2:15Speaker 2: They scored four runs and three losses. They don't hit
- 2:17Speaker 2: home runs, they lose. It's been that way for years.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Eight home runs total in the eight runs total in
- 2:21Speaker 2: the six game homestand where they went one in five.
- 2:24Speaker 2: They lost thirteen of eighteen off day to day before
- 2:26Speaker 2: flying in New York to play the Yankees, Fans all
- 2:28Speaker 2: over the Northwest asking if this off day is the
- 2:31Speaker 2: day they fire manager Dan Wilson. I just don't see
- 2:33Speaker 2: it happening. There's a reason they picked him. There's a
- 2:36Speaker 2: reason he's still there. You'll talk about that as well
- 2:38Speaker 2: during the show. Sounders won. Hey Sounders one club record
- 2:41Speaker 2: seven straight losses is over go Fighting Felts Fighting Feltz
- 2:44Speaker 2: has beat legat mx psch Carrotero yesterday three nil at
- 2:48Speaker 2: the stadium in League's Cup play the storm though they
- 2:51Speaker 2: did not win. They lost again at WNBA expansion team Portland.
- 2:55Speaker 3: The Stormers six and twenty eight.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Laramie Tunzel to Washington Commanders left tackle, highest paid off
- 3:00Speaker 2: defensive lineman in Washington, expected to miss well into the
- 3:03Speaker 2: season because he needs triceps surgery. Dan Wilson or Dan Quinn,
- 3:06Speaker 2: excuse me, not Danlass. Dan Quinn the coach announcing, I
- 3:08Speaker 2: go someone on the brain. The Seahawks play the Commanders
- 3:11Speaker 2: at Week three, which is why I'm bringing it up
- 3:13Speaker 2: to you. Sounds like they won't have they will not
- 3:16Speaker 2: have their starting left tackle against the Seahawks.
- 3:18Speaker 5: He's the fighting bong mask.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yes from Draft Night.
- 3:22Speaker 2: The three time NBA Coach Deer Hall of Famer Don
- 3:25Speaker 2: Nelson has died.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He was eighty six years old. Now on with the
- 3:27Speaker 3: Monday Show.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Hello, good morning, just a minute, Good morning, the beautiful
- 3:32Speaker 4: and I call it beautiful day, even though everyone's experiencing
- 3:35Speaker 4: the overcast.
- 3:36Speaker 3: And a little cool weather.
- 3:39Speaker 5: I love it out here when it's like this.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Travis is back in. This is one morning, Travis, It's
- 3:44Speaker 2: okay to be inside. It's chilly, Clark.
- 3:47Speaker 5: You're not missing any tanning sessions out here.
- 3:49Speaker 2: But you know what, when it's been so hot and
- 3:52Speaker 2: kind of muggy recently, I kind of like it when
- 3:54Speaker 2: it's got a bit of a chill in the air.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Totally agree. I'm with you.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I go back to New York and I forget, and
- 4:02Speaker 4: I've just I've become pmwized.
- 4:05Speaker 5: I just love the weather.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Road here. Bring me the heat, man, give me the
- 4:08Speaker 3: humidity and the heat.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Even my husband are exactly the same summer.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It's time to be hot. Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 2: On the show today, Seahawk's new principal owner makes his
- 4:18Speaker 2: first statement about depending matter with the team. We'll talk
- 4:21Speaker 2: about that matter we've talked about a few times. At
- 4:24Speaker 2: ten twenty five. AJ Finley, star of last night's Saturday
- 4:27Speaker 2: Night Excuse me. It's fan fest practice at lumen Field
- 4:29Speaker 2: that I wrote about in the News Tribune. A story
- 4:32Speaker 2: on AJ Finley is a great story, and Mike McDonald's said,
- 4:36Speaker 2: how can you not be incredibly happy for AJ Finley.
- 4:40Speaker 2: He's now put himself right in the middle of a
- 4:43Speaker 2: roster battle at safety and Special teams the Mariners. Will
- 4:46Speaker 2: they remove Dan Wilson as manager?
- 4:48Speaker 3: Should they?
- 4:50Speaker 2: Those are two very different matters when I.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Say that, will they or should they? Yeah, those are
- 4:55Speaker 4: definitely different matters.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I still think the accents on the wrong salable there.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I love that you say it that way. People will
- 5:02Speaker 5: text in and correct you on that. I'm like, that's
- 5:04Speaker 5: the joke.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Actually that's the joke. Thank you, thanks for texting in
- 5:09Speaker 6: on that.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I appreciate that, Joe.
- 5:11Speaker 5: When you say it, it's like, that's the point.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Something's just go over people, says eleven o'clock. Anthony Bradford,
- 5:18Speaker 2: the starting right guard, did a lot of Seahawk fans
- 5:20Speaker 2: love to hate. It's kind of odd that a Super
- 5:22Speaker 2: Bowl champion team has a player that people love to
- 5:24Speaker 2: hate online. But Anthony Bradford's him. I talked to him
- 5:28Speaker 2: on Friday after practice and it was a great interview.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Oh my gosh.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I was so excited, and he talked about fans ripping him.
- 5:35Speaker 2: And you'll hear him at eleven o'clock. If you sign
- 5:38Speaker 2: Anthony Bradford after practice Friday, signing autographs down an entire
- 5:42Speaker 2: row of fans, I mean, like forty yards worth of fans,
- 5:45Speaker 2: while holding his three month old daughter in one arm,
- 5:48Speaker 2: signing with the other. Maybe you wouldn't be so quite fast,
- 5:51Speaker 2: a boo. Those are their parents out there. Eleven thirty
- 5:53Speaker 2: Your Talks, Tech back talks and tech texts and talks,
- 5:57Speaker 2: Backs and texts Tacoma Dodge text time four nine four
- 6:01Speaker 2: five one. We read those back and play those back
- 6:03Speaker 2: every day at that time at eleven thirty, and they
- 6:05Speaker 2: ian forness will join us if from out here on
- 6:07Speaker 2: what he's got going from twelve until three. I wanted
- 6:09Speaker 2: to start the show today. Well, first question is do
- 6:13Speaker 2: you think they should fire Dan Wilson or the problems
- 6:15Speaker 2: go way above him?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Do you think it even matter at this point?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Seven games under five hundred Tacoma Dutch text line four
- 6:22Speaker 2: nine four or five to one. We'll read those back
- 6:24Speaker 2: at eleventh three. I wanted to start the show today
- 6:26Speaker 2: tribute to a friend of mine. When I first started
- 6:30Speaker 2: in the NFL covering the NFL in two thousand and two,
- 6:33Speaker 2: the summer of two thousand and two, after a few years,
- 6:35Speaker 2: I was the beat writer for the Oakland A's and
- 6:36Speaker 2: secondment'll be and I moved over to the Raiders, and
- 6:40Speaker 2: in the first at the end of the first training camp,
- 6:42Speaker 2: the Raiders cut a nine year linebacker by the name
- 6:44Speaker 2: of Greg Beakert. He'd been a star at the University
- 6:46Speaker 2: of Colorado, went to school with my wife.
- 6:47Speaker 3: My wife knew him.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Greg Beggert and I hit it off really well when
- 6:51Speaker 2: we first when I first got on the beat because
- 6:53Speaker 2: of the Colorado connection, through my wife and they cut
- 6:57Speaker 2: him after nine years as a starter. The day they
- 6:59Speaker 2: cut him, he disappeared from practice and tried to avoid
- 7:03Speaker 2: the beat reporters. They were watching the start of practice.
- 7:06Speaker 2: He had an equipment guy get in his great Beaker's
- 7:09Speaker 2: red truck and drive it a couple miles away from
- 7:13Speaker 2: the Raiders facility in Alan Meta, down by the Islant
- 7:15Speaker 2: Met Ferry terminal to San Francisco, and my new friend,
- 7:20Speaker 2: Mike Wagaman, said Greg. He just pulled me aside, said Greg,
- 7:24Speaker 2: let's let's go. I know where Beaker is, and we
- 7:27Speaker 2: jumped in his car and he's a late.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Made of Camaro. If I'm not mistaken, Oh, those are
- 7:33Speaker 3: the good ones.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And he drove me to the Ferry doc where he
- 7:37Speaker 2: knew Greg Beaker was and Greg, we pulled up and
- 7:40Speaker 2: Greg Beaker was standing at the side of the road
- 7:42Speaker 2: his empty curb as the equipment man for the Raiders
- 7:46Speaker 2: was driving his truck to him so he could make
- 7:47Speaker 2: an escape outside the reporters, and Greg Beeker laughed and says, Wags,
- 7:51Speaker 2: you got me. Mike Wagaman had been governed a t
- 7:54Speaker 2: munger than I had.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Fast forward that we had a outstanding relation. Mike Wagaman
- 8:00Speaker 3: and I.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Just a riet, always laughing, always joking, sitting in press
- 8:06Speaker 2: boxes across the country, traveling on planes. We came really close.
- 8:10Speaker 2: For twenty five years, we've been friends. We've watched our
- 8:12Speaker 2: kids grow up. And a week ago I saw him
- 8:15Speaker 2: at the Super Bowl in February. Every time I did
- 8:18Speaker 2: forty nine ers, I go down for forty nine er game,
- 8:20Speaker 2: I see Mike Wagaman. We go out to dinner, and
- 8:24Speaker 2: it was awesome. It was just like this longtime friend.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Every time we saw each other, big hugs and smiles
- 8:28Speaker 2: and laughs. You could not help but laugh around. Mike
- 8:30Speaker 2: Wagaman and everyone in the Bay Area reporters in sports
- 8:34Speaker 2: media knew Mike Wagman and his cackling laugh. And then
- 8:37Speaker 2: last week he sent a picture of him golfing. He
- 8:40Speaker 2: had He was four years removed from brain surgery. He
- 8:43Speaker 2: had brain cancer and he beat it.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Four years ago he had surgery. He was beating it.
- 8:48Speaker 2: He was back on the beats. He was covering as
- 8:50Speaker 2: a freelancer for the Associated Press for NBC Sportsnet California,
- 8:55Speaker 2: covering the Warriors, covering the Giants, covering he was the
- 8:58Speaker 2: a's in Sacramento, shar He was back what he loved
- 9:01Speaker 2: to do, and he was beating it. And he sent
- 9:03Speaker 2: me a picture him golfing.
- 9:04Speaker 3: It was awesome. That was six days ago, and then Saturday.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Morning, I got a call that he died with fifty
- 9:10Speaker 2: nine years old, Mike Wagman passed away. I couldn't even sit.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I couldn't even stand. I was in a gym in
- 9:19Speaker 2: north Gate and I had to sit down, and my
- 9:21Speaker 2: wife thought I was having some kind of physical something wrong.
- 9:24Speaker 3: Probably I couldn't stand. It was shocking because I thought
- 9:27Speaker 3: he beat it.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Mike wagon passed away fifty nine years old. He left
- 9:31Speaker 2: his son, a son who just graduated from the UC
- 9:34Speaker 2: Irvine univers California, Irvine, who found him. That's how everyone
- 9:38Speaker 2: learned that Mike Wagman had passed away. His son found
- 9:41Speaker 2: him in his home Friday night. So I just wanted
- 9:43Speaker 2: to shout out to Mike Wagaman and a reminder, as
- 9:46Speaker 2: I always try to say, squeeze the ones love if
- 9:49Speaker 2: you're so fortunate to have the opportunity, because you just
- 9:51Speaker 2: never know it was. Yeah, I just want to say, hey,
- 9:54Speaker 2: the Wags and everybody down the Bay area that I've
- 9:56Speaker 2: been talking to people all weekend and it's been a
- 9:58Speaker 2: tough weekend for them and for us.
- 10:02Speaker 3: It was cool. Mike Wagman got me the Tim Brown store.
- 10:06Speaker 2: He told me he's he had one of his best
- 10:09Speaker 2: buds on the Raiders, happened to be the money guy
- 10:11Speaker 2: for al Davis. Oh, and he told me a.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Training camp in Napa a couple of years but the.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Matt Thomas who used to be at the Seattle the.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Raiders, Matt Thomas essentially, and he tipped off Wagonman that
- 10:24Speaker 2: they were going to cut Tim Brown, a decade long captain,
- 10:27Speaker 2: this pillar of the team, one of al Davis's guys.
- 10:30Speaker 2: And Wagonman told me, he said, I got tipped for it,
- 10:33Speaker 2: and here's who told me, and it's legit. And I
- 10:35Speaker 2: asked around a little bit and I broke that story
- 10:37Speaker 2: for the Sacramento Bee. He didn't break it, he gave
- 10:41Speaker 2: it to me, and.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah he did.
- 10:45Speaker 2: And it ended up being the reason that I got
- 10:46Speaker 2: to Seattle. The Associated Press hired me to be the
- 10:50Speaker 2: Seattle sports writer largely based on the fact that I
- 10:52Speaker 2: broke the Tim Brown story. The day after, and everyone
- 10:56Speaker 2: in Al Davis bitched me out and screamed at me
- 10:59Speaker 2: and said I was wrong, and a day later they
- 11:01Speaker 2: cut him and he went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Tim Brown did me breaking that story for the Sacramento
- 11:06Speaker 2: b was because of Mike Wagaman and me. Breaking that
- 11:08Speaker 2: story is how I got the EP job in Seattle,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and that's how I came to Seattle, and that's why
- 11:12Speaker 2: I've been here for twenty five years.
- 11:14Speaker 3: So that's how much I like I love Mike Wagman. Yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 3: I'm just telling you if you got a.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Chance, I'm glad that you're being open about it. Yeah,
- 11:24Speaker 4: sometimes we need a little therapy session.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Well, you get to this point in your life where
- 11:30Speaker 2: love and family and friends all that matter. Think you
- 11:32Speaker 2: have the money, you can have a job you want
- 11:35Speaker 2: do all. Ultimately, man, it doesn't matter.
- 11:38Speaker 3: It's just about love, family and the people you want to.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Spend your time with. For us too, that's all that matters.
- 11:43Speaker 2: All the other stuff is just noise.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Agreed, it's.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Seahawks in coming on of the node. Kozla waited in
- 11:52Speaker 2: this weekend on social media when a fan asked him
- 11:56Speaker 2: directly on social media if moom and Field can get
- 11:59Speaker 2: World Cup ass back as in full time like Seahawks
- 12:02Speaker 2: founders play on grass forever.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Did you see this?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it was kind of odd that he would take
- 12:07Speaker 2: that because he is not publicly that none of the
- 12:10Speaker 2: Cosla fame, not his wife, not his son.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Have I didn't even know he had a Twitter account, right, I've.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Been following him on Twitter, but he wasn't posting anything
- 12:17Speaker 2: about the Seahawks. In fact, they aren't allowed to be
- 12:20Speaker 2: in the facility or do anything Seahawks related until.
- 12:23Speaker 3: The sale goes through.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Not just gets voted on August twenty sixth in Atlanta,
- 12:28Speaker 2: but then the money has to go through. The nine
- 12:30Speaker 2: point six billion dollars is not just you know, that's
- 12:34Speaker 2: going to take a little bit. So they are prohibited
- 12:37Speaker 2: from doing anything Seahawks related. But this is the first
- 12:40Speaker 2: time he's commented about anything Seahawk created, other than the
- 12:43Speaker 2: canned statement that the team put out after the sale
- 12:45Speaker 2: agreement that said we can't wait to further the legacy
- 12:48Speaker 2: of the Seahawks. So Cozal uses this. Fans questioned about
- 12:52Speaker 2: the grass to be really the first time he's talked
- 12:54Speaker 2: about anything team related, and Vanoczla, a new incoming owner
- 12:58Speaker 2: of the Seahawks, said quote online on his Twitter account
- 13:01Speaker 2: about having Grass full time in womenfield. Quote, I'd defer
- 13:05Speaker 2: to people at the Seahawks who know better than me
- 13:08Speaker 2: the team that got us the Super Bowl.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Well, it's technically nearer as actually the owner.
- 13:13Speaker 3: The principal owner.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yes, the the yes, the husband's the money guy, and
- 13:18Speaker 2: the son is the one who's probably going to be
- 13:19Speaker 2: the yes, the absolutely operating day to day because he's
- 13:23Speaker 2: younger and will probably be the longer term face manager.
- 13:26Speaker 3: But Yes.
- 13:27Speaker 4: When he responded, it was just so funny because it
- 13:30Speaker 4: was just a random fan, you know. I was like,
- 13:34Speaker 4: good for you, all right, Cols, Like and it's not
- 13:39Speaker 4: like frantically tweeting or anything like your Elon's or anything
- 13:43Speaker 4: like that, but just one one response.
- 13:47Speaker 2: But it is indicative to what they're how they're thinking
- 13:49Speaker 2: coming into this.
- 13:50Speaker 4: We trust this organization to do what's best, and we
- 13:53Speaker 4: will give them the resources, which is what I feel.
- 13:56Speaker 4: We'll give them the resources to do what they know
- 13:58Speaker 4: better than us.
- 13:59Speaker 3: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Yep.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And it also suggests that maybe Chuck Arnold, the president
- 14:04Speaker 2: of the team, may be okay and that he's going
- 14:07Speaker 2: to keep that team intact. That the Kosalers won't change
- 14:10Speaker 2: the president or the business side because that grass thing
- 14:13Speaker 2: is a business decision. The players wanted for health and
- 14:15Speaker 2: safety and welfare and long term happiness on their legs,
- 14:19Speaker 2: but it's a business decision. The fact that they have
- 14:21Speaker 2: turf is a business decision. We've talked about this all
- 14:24Speaker 2: multiple times. The fact that they can have events and
- 14:27Speaker 2: not have to spend the money on ripping up grass
- 14:29Speaker 2: and reinstalling grass, and they can have concerts and monster
- 14:32Speaker 2: truck pools and dirt bike races, all that stuff on
- 14:35Speaker 2: Lumenfield is that's why it's a business decision. So him
- 14:38Speaker 2: saying well, I'm just gonna leave that to the folks
- 14:40Speaker 2: who make that decision, that to me is a signal
- 14:42Speaker 2: that the business operation, the president's side, the money side
- 14:46Speaker 2: of the Seahawks, is going to stay largely intact or
- 14:49Speaker 2: at least untouched.
- 14:50Speaker 4: And I would think so we'll see. Yeah, I know,
- 14:52Speaker 4: it's funny. It's just like one simple tweet that you
- 14:54Speaker 4: see in response to a fan.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Yeah, but it tells you.
- 14:58Speaker 3: But it's a lot. That's all we have to go
- 15:00Speaker 3: on because that's all he said anything publicly, I know,
- 15:03Speaker 3: And I.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Wonder if you know he thinks about anything like that
- 15:07Speaker 4: where you know, Okay, I'll say one thing, probably I
- 15:11Speaker 4: would think, not just considering the person he responded to
- 15:15Speaker 4: was a Seahawks fan and just asking about that.
- 15:17Speaker 5: But I think that that statement says a lot about
- 15:20Speaker 5: what this ownership group is going to do.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I think it is true. I think it's indicative, and
- 15:24Speaker 3: he's he's smart enough to know that's going to get
- 15:27Speaker 3: picked up.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Und Oh yeah, that wasn't necessarily an innocuous tweet, which
- 15:31Speaker 4: which is why I was saying, he's not Twitter fingers guy.
- 15:34Speaker 2: No, So I think he was sending a message of
- 15:36Speaker 2: status quo, which is what I think Seahawks fans want
- 15:38Speaker 2: to hear from the new incoming owners.
- 15:41Speaker 3: And you just won the Super Bowl exactly.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, again, this is an unprecedented situation nine point six
- 15:47Speaker 2: billion dollars, second highest ever, the largest in NFL history.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Not only that, it ain't very common for a Super
- 15:54Speaker 2: Bowl champion to get sold in the months after they
- 15:56Speaker 2: won at all.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Well, the situation was uncommon to start with.
- 16:00Speaker 6: Oh yeah, but yes, yeah, it is.
- 16:03Speaker 4: It is.
- 16:04Speaker 5: You know, some of these have been forced in professional
- 16:07Speaker 5: sports as a whole. Some of them have been.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Forced for bad reasons, and some of them have been
- 16:15Speaker 4: passed down, and then you know there's something like that.
- 16:19Speaker 4: I loved what Jody Allen did after Paul Allen passed away.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I thought she did exactly what the Coastal has seemed
- 16:27Speaker 4: to be about to do.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Sixteen days until the NFL meeting in Atlanta, of all
- 16:32Speaker 2: the team owners, they need twenty four yes votes for
- 16:35Speaker 2: the ratify the Seahawks sale agreement, and there is no
- 16:37Speaker 2: indication that it might not even be unanimous. That it
- 16:39Speaker 2: will be passed and the Seahawks will be sold to
- 16:42Speaker 2: the Coaslal family well in advance a couple weeks in
- 16:45Speaker 2: advance of the season open to September ninth against New
- 16:48Speaker 2: England at Womenfield. Up next Atlomenfield Saturday night. The Seahawks
- 16:52Speaker 2: are back on the turf for the first time since
- 16:54Speaker 2: they celebrated their Super Bowl championship in mid February, and
- 16:57Speaker 2: aj Finley was the star. You'll hear from the safety
- 17:01Speaker 2: who's had quite a ride the last twelve months. Next
- 17:03Speaker 2: on ninety three point three KJRFF.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Welcome back sounds like the beginning of a Nelly song.
- 17:18Speaker 6: Yes, I was thinking, yes, if you want to go
- 17:22Speaker 6: and take a ride with me.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Greg Ball, Jessman McIntyre, Travis moogerback Seahawks Training Camp, Day fourteen,
- 17:27Speaker 2: the fourteenth practice of training camp. The thirteenth practice of
- 17:31Speaker 2: training camp was at Loumenfield Saturday night, and AJ Finley
- 17:34Speaker 2: was the star. He intercepted it pass from Sam Donald
- 17:38Speaker 2: that was thrown right to him because Jackson Smith and
- 17:40Speaker 2: Jigbo was coming out of an route break and he
- 17:43Speaker 2: just fell down. It was during an overtime simulation scrimmage
- 17:46Speaker 2: early in the practice. It was with fans at lumen
- 17:48Speaker 2: Field and Donald threw the pass right to Finley.
- 17:51Speaker 3: He took it.
- 17:52Speaker 2: He went to the other end zone and he had
- 17:53Speaker 2: the whole defensive gang running with him, celebrating in the
- 17:57Speaker 2: end zone, and then when they got to the sideline,
- 17:59Speaker 2: it looked like to see how had won the Super
- 18:00Speaker 2: Bowl again around AJ Finley. And that's because everybody on
- 18:04Speaker 2: the team knew that. Twelve months almost to the day earlier,
- 18:07Speaker 2: at the same event, AJ Finley had torn the interior
- 18:10Speaker 2: a cruciate ligament in his knee and he was out
- 18:13Speaker 2: for the year. This time last year, he was bidding
- 18:16Speaker 2: to get time as a backup safety and make the
- 18:18Speaker 2: team on special teams. Mike McDonald talked about that against Saturday,
- 18:22Speaker 2: how much he was in the mix, then when he
- 18:23Speaker 2: got hurt, and then he was injured for the entire
- 18:26Speaker 2: he missed the whole season. When NFL teams, when guys
- 18:31Speaker 2: get those type of long rehabs, the NFL Players Association
- 18:35Speaker 2: has negotiated that you aren't mandatory. You can't You don't
- 18:38Speaker 2: have to be told you have to stay in a
- 18:41Speaker 2: team facility. You can go back to your A lot
- 18:43Speaker 2: of guys go back to their colleges where they used
- 18:45Speaker 2: to be and they trust medical personnel and trainers, or
- 18:48Speaker 2: they'll go to the people in their hometown or and
- 18:50Speaker 2: they'll be under the guys of the team, but they're
- 18:52Speaker 2: not in the team facility or training room every day.
- 18:55Speaker 2: You don't have to be well, aj Finley was, he
- 18:58Speaker 2: stayed here even though he's from the Off East, he
- 19:00Speaker 2: stayed here the entire twelve months during the season. He
- 19:03Speaker 2: said he made it a point to come out to
- 19:05Speaker 2: practice twice a day to be feel like he was
- 19:09Speaker 2: a part of the team. He stayed all off season rehabit. Well,
- 19:12Speaker 2: now he's back, and Mike McDonald's saying after Saturday's performance,
- 19:16Speaker 2: he's right in the middle of it again where he
- 19:18Speaker 2: was picking up where he left off last year. This
- 19:20Speaker 2: is aj Finley, the Safety, the fourth year of safety
- 19:23Speaker 2: on ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 19:26Speaker 7: It really didn't hit me into it, Like I got
- 19:28Speaker 7: through the sideline and all the boys were congratulating me.
- 19:31Speaker 8: It's definitely a full circle moment.
- 19:33Speaker 7: Just sticking to the process and taking the day to
- 19:35Speaker 7: day and honestly, it's been it's.
- 19:37Speaker 8: Been a hell of a ride.
- 19:38Speaker 7: But I got a lot of good people in my circle,
- 19:39Speaker 7: my wife, my family. Honestly being here, I stayed here
- 19:42Speaker 7: with the team last year and that it honestly helped
- 19:44Speaker 7: me a lot. So yeah, it's been a great it's
- 19:46Speaker 7: a great, great experience yourself.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Through the process of rehabbing back for that dream.
- 19:51Speaker 7: I'll say, like, I honestly put my if I feel
- 19:54Speaker 7: like if I put my mind to anything, man, I
- 19:55Speaker 7: feel like I can go do it. So honestly, like
- 19:59Speaker 7: just trusting myself of coming in putting the work in.
- 20:02Speaker 7: Like obviously it's a long process and it's it's it's
- 20:06Speaker 7: tough on the brain, but if you if you put
- 20:07Speaker 7: your mind to it, I feel like you do it.
- 20:09Speaker 8: I feel like I did that really well after a year.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Or feel like most people who were celebrating with you
- 20:13Speaker 2: understood the connection.
- 20:15Speaker 7: Yeah, last year, there was a lot of people that
- 20:18Speaker 7: were saying they didn't want to say anything to me
- 20:19Speaker 7: before practice with everybody obviously knew, and a lot of
- 20:22Speaker 7: people that came up to me and they're like, man,
- 20:24Speaker 7: the year later, you come back and you get a pick,
- 20:26Speaker 7: that's that's so special, like there's nothing but God, And
- 20:28Speaker 7: honestly it is, so I really appreciate it.
- 20:31Speaker 8: Thank God for being in this situation.
- 20:33Speaker 3: What was that like last year?
- 20:35Speaker 7: Like having an injury coming down and in the practice,
- 20:37Speaker 7: I play with your brain just the immediate aftermaths of it,
- 20:41Speaker 7: like you probably know immediately what's happening. And to now
- 20:45Speaker 7: have this year earlier when it happened, I was I mean,
- 20:49Speaker 7: I went through every emotion you can imagine, honestly, like you,
- 20:52Speaker 7: I feel like you put in so much work and
- 20:54Speaker 7: then it's just taken away from you like that. And
- 20:57Speaker 7: I feel like what I did very well is I
- 20:59Speaker 7: dealt with it so ass to where like the next
- 21:01Speaker 7: week when I came back in for treatment, I was
- 21:03Speaker 7: like I was already over it, So I was like,
- 21:05Speaker 7: I was ready to put my best foot forward every day.
- 21:06Speaker 7: So getting over it pretty fast was the best thing
- 21:08Speaker 7: I did.
- 21:08Speaker 3: How did you get over the leak?
- 21:10Speaker 2: What did you get?
- 21:11Speaker 3: How did you pass that?
- 21:13Speaker 8: Honestly?
- 21:13Speaker 7: Like I I was, I'm a very so what I
- 21:17Speaker 7: had a trend coach in uh college?
- 21:19Speaker 8: Tell me so what now? What?
- 21:20Speaker 4: Like?
- 21:20Speaker 7: So, no matter what happens to you, like, you gotta
- 21:23Speaker 7: you gotta fight back and you gotta adjust.
- 21:24Speaker 8: So I feel like that's what I did.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Will some love? You said you stayed here to rehab?
- 21:32Speaker 8: Yeah, what was that?
- 21:33Speaker 3: I mean something some guys go home, some guys do
- 21:35Speaker 3: it here.
- 21:36Speaker 8: What's the what was the decision like that?
- 21:38Speaker 7: I mean they asked me to stay, so I was
- 21:39Speaker 7: obviously gonna stay. So yeah, they asked me to stay,
- 21:42Speaker 7: and I just stayed up here and did my rehab.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Well, some guys coming off in a jury maybe how
- 21:46Speaker 2: hard time planning with the new team for RS to
- 21:49Speaker 2: want to resign you or lad in the offseason?
- 21:51Speaker 3: What that mean to? I mean?
- 21:52Speaker 8: It was special?
- 21:53Speaker 7: Uh obviously like a lot of guys, especially in my position,
- 21:56Speaker 7: like you don't come back a lot from ACLS like that.
- 21:58Speaker 7: So honestly, it meant a lot knowing that I put
- 22:01Speaker 7: in the work and they saw the work that I
- 22:03Speaker 7: put in. So I feel like that's what helped me
- 22:05Speaker 7: get back in this situation.
- 22:06Speaker 4: I think your fellow safetechnick covers from the intry, have
- 22:10Speaker 4: you given him any advice throughout your process from the access?
- 22:13Speaker 7: I just tell him to keep working, like honestly, like I,
- 22:15Speaker 7: it's it's you can take it step by step and
- 22:18Speaker 7: if you just keep going, like you're gonna come back
- 22:20Speaker 7: better than you were.
- 22:21Speaker 8: So I feel like that's what I've been telling him.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Supposed Jack Howard, can you just talk about his communications
- 22:27Speaker 3: style and then.
- 22:27Speaker 7: How he's just yeh uh he's been I had him
- 22:32Speaker 7: in LA So. He was a linebackers coach when I
- 22:34Speaker 7: was in LA. So I've known him for about four
- 22:36Speaker 7: years now, and Uh, he's a stickler about communication. Uh,
- 22:40Speaker 7: That's that's what I feel like. That's what our room
- 22:41Speaker 7: does at a really high level. Like everybody in our
- 22:43Speaker 7: room can communicate at a really high level. And that's
- 22:46Speaker 7: that's what he preaches to us. And if you can't communicate,
- 22:48Speaker 7: you're not gonna be on the field. So I feel
- 22:49Speaker 7: like that's what he's a stickler about.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And where do you feel like, where do you feel
- 22:52Speaker 2: like you are like helpful game right now a year
- 22:56Speaker 2: from this getting back in I'm.
- 22:58Speaker 8: One hundred percent health.
- 22:59Speaker 7: I'm obviously still not some dust off with a little
- 23:01Speaker 7: few things like I'm not I'm nowhere near where I
- 23:03Speaker 7: want to be, but my my body is one hundred percent.
- 23:06Speaker 7: I'm just trying to get the mental part back back down.
- 23:08Speaker 7: If you did the safety and it seems like there's
- 23:10Speaker 7: a lot of competition in the back safety, where do
- 23:13Speaker 7: you feel like you fit in it? And kind of
- 23:14Speaker 7: went to I'm just I'm just here to do whatever
- 23:17Speaker 7: I need to do to get on the field, whatever
- 23:19Speaker 7: that means, whether it's a mentor to anybody, where I'm
- 23:21Speaker 7: on the field on special teams, playing like, I don't
- 23:24Speaker 7: care what it is.
- 23:24Speaker 8: I just want to be in the building.
- 23:25Speaker 4: When you were pretty.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Happy last year and you were talking ball with your teammates, said,
- 23:29Speaker 2: when you weren't prehappy and you were talking ballved with
- 23:32Speaker 2: your teammates last year, who just spent.
- 23:34Speaker 7: The most time talking Ah, that's tough. I mean, I'm
- 23:37Speaker 7: I'm the type of guy like I'm cool with everybody
- 23:39Speaker 7: on the team, uh, pretty much everybody in the DV
- 23:41Speaker 7: room that was our DV room master was so tight,
- 23:44Speaker 7: like it was you can go up and talk to anybody,
- 23:46Speaker 7: like from anybody to the top guy like Spoons, to
- 23:49Speaker 7: anybody you want to talk about. But I feel like
- 23:52Speaker 7: I feel like I got me and Todd like because
- 23:54Speaker 7: me and to kind of have similar stories like both
- 23:56Speaker 7: on drafted free agents, like when I first got here
- 23:59Speaker 7: from LA like we kind to hit it off. So
- 24:01Speaker 7: just honestly, honestly seeing thy last year was it was
- 24:03Speaker 7: really impressive, like him going in and competing at a
- 24:06Speaker 7: high level. I love to see that Veratie and uh yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 7: I'll probably say Tie kind of kind of shout.
- 24:11Speaker 3: You got after a practice here?
- 24:12Speaker 2: What would that mean to have your head.
- 24:14Speaker 8: Coach kind of single?
- 24:15Speaker 7: It's so cool like to see to see that he
- 24:17Speaker 7: has seen the work that I put in honestly means
- 24:20Speaker 7: a lot, especially coming from where I am, coming from
- 24:24Speaker 7: where I came from last year, Like it's it's been
- 24:25Speaker 7: a long, long process and just seeing that that work
- 24:28Speaker 7: has come to light, it's it's amazing.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I think you drafted what did you? What are you
- 24:32Speaker 3: even see him from Tory Foster after camp.
- 24:35Speaker 8: That guy is electric.
- 24:36Speaker 7: He he it feels like he makes it play almost
- 24:39Speaker 7: every day, but he's definitely putting a lot of good
- 24:42Speaker 7: stuff on tape.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Did you were.
- 24:44Speaker 2: You able to still feel like you were a part
- 24:45Speaker 2: of this ul throughout last year sitting on the background and.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Kind of having to do your thing.
- 24:51Speaker 7: That's what That's what I tried to do the most, like,
- 24:53Speaker 7: because I feel like if I tried to do the
- 24:54Speaker 7: process on my own, it would have probably been a
- 24:56Speaker 7: hard process.
- 24:56Speaker 8: So that's why I stayed in the building. I even
- 24:58Speaker 8: went out to practice sometimes.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Like it was.
- 25:00Speaker 7: I probably tried to make it at least two practice
- 25:02Speaker 7: a week so I would still feel like I'm a
- 25:03Speaker 7: part of the team. So I didn't feel like I
- 25:05Speaker 7: was in the background in the dark, like doing this
- 25:07Speaker 7: all by myself.
- 25:07Speaker 8: So I feel like that was probably the biggest.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Part, he said, aspect of something that you're still trying
- 25:13Speaker 4: to get over.
- 25:15Speaker 7: No, it's not trusting my body, honestly, trusting my eyes.
- 25:18Speaker 7: Like I'm like all over the body, like I feel
- 25:21Speaker 7: good about my body, but it's just like seeing certain
- 25:23Speaker 7: things and reading and reacting and stuff. I feel like
- 25:25Speaker 7: I still got to a list of tabbit I'm almost there,
- 25:28Speaker 7: but I still got a tabit to do.
- 25:29Speaker 8: What the intercept?
- 25:31Speaker 4: Uh?
- 25:31Speaker 8: So we were in quarters.
- 25:33Speaker 7: Uh Jackson was running over and I cleared the posts
- 25:36Speaker 7: and then came down the over and I just honestly
- 25:38Speaker 7: didn't know.
- 25:38Speaker 8: I say I was gonna throw the ball. I was
- 25:39Speaker 8: shocked through through it.
- 25:40Speaker 7: He usually don't make those mistakes, but uh, yeah, I
- 25:43Speaker 7: came down to the over and intercepted.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that was Saturday night. A. J. Finley said he
- 25:50Speaker 2: couldn't believe Darnald threw him the ball. He threw it
- 25:52Speaker 2: right to him, but it was because Smith and Jib
- 25:53Speaker 2: had fallen down cutting.
- 25:56Speaker 6: But he still did.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah's point was it was like, wow, believe you do it.
- 26:01Speaker 2: But that's the kind of story, in the kind of
- 26:04Speaker 2: dedication to team that Mike McDonald loves. Okay, you blew
- 26:09Speaker 2: out your knee, you devastated. You heard him talk about
- 26:12Speaker 2: the strength coach. That was the strength throats that he had,
- 26:15Speaker 2: the strength coach who told him that get up and
- 26:17Speaker 2: move on. So what what's next? That was a strength coach,
- 26:21Speaker 2: Wilson Love, that AJ Finley had at a University of Mississippi.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Wilson Love is now the head strength coach for the
- 26:28Speaker 2: football team at Oregon. He'd since had moved since AJ
- 26:32Speaker 2: Finley was at Mississippi, but he credits him for having
- 26:35Speaker 2: the mentality to just get over it, and then he
- 26:37Speaker 2: just stayed here and did all his rehab here and
- 26:40Speaker 2: was part of the practice and part of the team meetings,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and was at the Super Bowl and all of that.
- 26:44Speaker 2: And McDonald really appreciated how committed AJ Finley was to
- 26:48Speaker 2: the Seahawks program, but just staying here and rehabbing the
- 26:51Speaker 2: whole time. And that's why Mike McDonald at the end
- 26:54Speaker 2: of my story that's up at the newstreaming dot com
- 26:55Speaker 2: saying how could you not be incredibly happy for AJ Finley,
- 27:00Speaker 2: McDonald said, right back in the thick of.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Everything, for you know, it reminds me it has notes
- 27:05Speaker 4: of Pete Carroll on it too, because he was definitely
- 27:07Speaker 4: a reclamation guy. And I I don't know Mike McDonald
- 27:13Speaker 4: as well as you know watching what Pete Carroll did
- 27:16Speaker 4: for as long as he did, but I feel like
- 27:19Speaker 4: that is almost becoming a Seattle tradition of you know,
- 27:25Speaker 4: you're not done, You're not done just because someone else
- 27:27Speaker 4: said you are, right. Yeah, And I and I love
- 27:30Speaker 4: that about this team.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Aj Finley made the point of win a position that
- 27:33Speaker 2: he was in as a backup, bottom guy on the roster.
- 27:36Speaker 2: They often don't get another chance, they get cut in
- 27:39Speaker 2: situations like that, and he appreciates the Seahawks for sticking
- 27:42Speaker 2: with him too, which is poor in a practical sense,
- 27:44Speaker 2: was probably part of the reason he stayed here and
- 27:46Speaker 2: did his workouts and rehabit the Seahawks facility.
- 27:49Speaker 4: I mean, look at your interview with Montori Foster, like
- 27:52Speaker 4: that he was substitute teaching.
- 27:55Speaker 5: You know, yeah, he was. You know, he was quote
- 27:58Speaker 5: unquote what you could be called done, but he didn't.
- 28:01Speaker 2: All these feel good stories is what makes the Terry
- 28:04Speaker 2: on Arnold situation so different.
- 28:07Speaker 3: That is more of a Pete you talk about reclamation projects, Pete.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Carroll would hire would do this. That would be no question.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Nobody would be surprised at all that the Seahawks would
- 28:16Speaker 2: be under Pete Carroll pursuing Terry on Arnold because he's
- 28:19Speaker 2: a former first round pick. This to me does not
- 28:22Speaker 2: strike me as a Mike McDonald move for culture, for
- 28:24Speaker 2: in the locker room, but it is a reminder that
- 28:28Speaker 2: football wins, and if you've got a guy who's a
- 28:31Speaker 2: former first round pick with that kind of talent at
- 28:33Speaker 2: that position cornerback, which is so vital to football today
- 28:37Speaker 2: for how much teams throw, and the prospect that if
- 28:41Speaker 2: he's exonerated, the Seahawks want to be in the front
- 28:44Speaker 2: of the line, on the inside track to getting Arnold
- 28:47Speaker 2: and have two first round picks in the secondary. So,
- 28:50Speaker 2: as I told Chuck this morning, if the Seahawks have
- 28:53Speaker 2: John Schneider and his staff have to have some information
- 28:56Speaker 2: beyond what has been published and known that Lee toward
- 29:01Speaker 2: Terry and Arnold being.
- 29:02Speaker 3: Exonerated in Florida or else.
- 29:03Speaker 2: To me, that doesn't make any sense to pursue a
- 29:06Speaker 2: guy who's facing eight felony charges and perhaps life in prison.
- 29:10Speaker 2: That the Lions cut them. They just said nope, you're
- 29:13Speaker 2: done and said first round pick, starter done. Cut.
- 29:17Speaker 3: And that's why he's a free agent.
- 29:18Speaker 2: That's why he's.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Available for teams to talk to.
- 29:20Speaker 2: But he had to post one million dollars in bond
- 29:24Speaker 2: to even be able to get away from jail to
- 29:26Speaker 2: go visit these teams. That to me seems an anti
- 29:30Speaker 2: Mike McDonald move.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they must know also when other people
- 29:35Speaker 4: are picking up the phone and making those calls too,
- 29:37Speaker 4: like you said, just like be on the waiting list.
- 29:41Speaker 5: I guess to see.
- 29:44Speaker 4: And you know, it's it's funny when all these rumors
- 29:46Speaker 4: come out of Oh, they're taking calls on this guy,
- 29:50Speaker 4: they're taking calls on that guy. Like John Schneier has
- 29:52Speaker 4: been very open about I'll always pick up the phone.
- 29:55Speaker 4: That doesn't mean this guy's on the trading.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Block and on.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Everything is what he says, and he thinks it's due diligence.
- 30:01Speaker 2: And it looked like due diligence the first time they
- 30:03Speaker 2: visited with him, but the second time to me, seems
- 30:06Speaker 2: to me that they're trying to get an inside track,
- 30:09Speaker 2: believing that he'll be exonerated of.
- 30:11Speaker 5: These Yeah, I mean, but yeah, I guess.
- 30:14Speaker 4: There's just certain incidents that have seemed to caught John
- 30:18Speaker 4: Schneider by surprise with certain draft picks in the past.
- 30:23Speaker 2: This reminds me of Quintin Dunbar. I lived through that,
- 30:25Speaker 2: and I dealt with a Roward County floor to prosecutor
- 30:29Speaker 2: the whole time they were signing and the whole time
- 30:32Speaker 2: that Dunbar was playing here that failed. I was here
- 30:35Speaker 2: the night that they drafted Frank Clark. That was, which
- 30:37Speaker 2: was months after the general manager John Schnyder said we
- 30:40Speaker 2: will never draft or deal with a player who's had
- 30:43Speaker 2: a domestic violence passed, and he did. He drafted him
- 30:46Speaker 2: in the second round months after Clark was kicked off
- 30:48Speaker 2: the Michigan out of the Michigan program for it.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Became alleged, it became a prosecuted and that they ended
- 30:56Speaker 3: up settling that case in Sandusky, Ohio for.
- 31:00Speaker 9: And it is.
- 31:01Speaker 3: So we've been down this road before. We just haven't
- 31:04Speaker 3: been down this road with Mike McDonald before. That would
- 31:07Speaker 3: be a departure. But again we're getting way ahead of her.
- 31:10Speaker 2: So they aren't signing him yet, but they are trying
- 31:13Speaker 2: to get in line to sign him if he is exonerated,
- 31:16Speaker 2: because then, like I said, football wins a former first round.
- 31:19Speaker 2: You could pair two first round picks in your secondary
- 31:23Speaker 2: and have your two starting corners be first round picks.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I mean, at this point, I'm looking at it as
- 31:28Speaker 4: due diligence, just due diligence, and that's that's yeah.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Four nine under the COMA Dodgs text line your belief
- 31:36Speaker 2: and feelings about this situation. The Seahawks interest in Terry
- 31:40Speaker 2: On Arnold, are you black and white?
- 31:44Speaker 3: Forget it?
- 31:45Speaker 2: This isn't a guy with went robbery, burglary, allegedly enacting
- 31:51Speaker 2: revenge on allegedly being robbed of one hundred thousand dollars
- 31:54Speaker 2: in luxury items and one hundred thousand dollars in cash
- 31:57Speaker 2: plus added value of luxury at that he believes three
- 32:01Speaker 2: men stole from him in Tampa, Florida, and then that
- 32:05Speaker 2: he prosecutors alleged that Terry On Arnold then orchestrated the
- 32:09Speaker 2: abduction and beating of those three men, and the prosecutors
- 32:12Speaker 2: in Florida say that he got the wrong guys, and
- 32:14Speaker 2: then he's there, He's wrong. It's mistaken that that this
- 32:17Speaker 2: even happened, which is why he's being charge with eight
- 32:20Speaker 2: felony counts of burglary and kidnapping. That's the Terry On
- 32:24Speaker 2: Arnold's situation in the meantime, because he posted a million
- 32:27Speaker 2: dollar bond.
- 32:27Speaker 3: He's a free agent.
- 32:29Speaker 2: He's visiting with the New Orleans Saints today after reportedly
- 32:32Speaker 2: being here at Seahawks facility in Renton yesterday for a
- 32:36Speaker 2: second free agent hysit four nine four five one your
- 32:38Speaker 2: feelings on that? And it just to me, strikes me
- 32:41Speaker 2: as not a Mike McDonald type move, although it is the.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Interest is you mess.
- 32:48Speaker 6: Yes, but not it's not a move.
- 32:50Speaker 2: It would not be a no conditional, would not be
- 32:53Speaker 2: a move so far. But if he's exonerated, John Schneider
- 32:58Speaker 2: would say, it's my responsibilit need.
- 33:00Speaker 3: To be in on this.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Like you sound, football wins, and we've seen it time
- 33:04Speaker 4: and time again in the NFL too. We've seen it
- 33:07Speaker 4: in multiple professional sports, to be honest, and the sport
- 33:11Speaker 4: wins every single time. It would be very interesting to
- 33:16Speaker 4: dig into that case once we learn more details, because
- 33:19Speaker 4: that is quite the tail.
- 33:21Speaker 3: It is quite the tail.
- 33:22Speaker 2: When it happened, it was shocking and that's why the
- 33:24Speaker 2: Lion's cutting so just boom done and they didn't have
- 33:28Speaker 2: any Gray Dan Campbell and his Lions just cut him.
- 33:32Speaker 2: And now he's reportedly visited the Seahawks for the second time.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Up next, the other matter that all of you want
- 33:39Speaker 2: to talk about, it's a Mariner's off day before they
- 33:41Speaker 2: play tomorrow in Yankee Stadium. There's seven games under five hundred,
- 33:44Speaker 2: the low arter mark of the entire season. Inexplicably, they're
- 33:48Speaker 2: just four games back. In a future day of the last.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Should they fire Dan Wilson the manager? That seems to
- 33:54Speaker 2: be topic du jor, it's been topic two month, But
- 33:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I think it's a bigger systemic problem
- 34:01Speaker 2: that goes two and three rungs above Dan Wilson, starting
- 34:05Speaker 2: with Jerry Depoto. We'll talk about that next eleven o'clock.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Anthony Bradford, the Seahawk you love to hate. You'll hear
- 34:11Speaker 2: from him, and I don't know, maybe you won't hate
- 34:13Speaker 2: him as much. It was really good.
- 34:14Speaker 5: It's amazing.
- 34:16Speaker 4: I mean, I get where fans are coming from from
- 34:19Speaker 4: a football perspective, but don't hate too hard.
- 34:22Speaker 2: He married his grade schools not high school, grade school
- 34:25Speaker 2: sweetheart from Muskegon, Michigan. They had three months ago their
- 34:28Speaker 2: first child, a baby girl who he is over the
- 34:31Speaker 2: moon about. You'll hear from Anthony Bradford at eleven o'clock.
- 34:33Speaker 2: You're texting talkbacks at eleven thirty All from Seahawks training

- 35:21Speaker 2: Classic is this week and we have tickets to give
- 35:24Speaker 2: away for you if you want to go to the

- 35:33Speaker 2: But listeners who listen from the very start text into
- 35:36Speaker 2: four nine, four to five one the Coma Dodge text one.
- 35:38Speaker 2: If you want tickets to the Boeing Classic, two tickets, right, Jessmund.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Yes, actually the five sets of two tickets.
- 35:45Speaker 2: The first five people to answer correctly. How did I
- 35:47Speaker 2: get the Tim Brown? The Raiders are cutting Tim Brown story.
- 35:50Speaker 2: If you listen to the first part of the show,
- 35:52Speaker 2: right after headlines, how did I get the Tim Brown
- 35:54Speaker 2: story that I wrote for the Sacramento be the National
- 35:57Speaker 2: scoop on the Raiders cutting their captain Tim Brown back
- 36:00Speaker 2: in the day of two thousand and five. I think
- 36:02Speaker 2: it was text that into four nine four one the
- 36:05Speaker 2: coming Dodge text sign we'll give you two tickets to
- 36:07Speaker 2: the Boeing Classic, and we need your.
- 36:08Speaker 5: First, last name and your email address.
- 36:14Speaker 4: Yes, if you want to go to the Bowing Classic,
- 36:16Speaker 4: which is so fun and I mean it's like the
- 36:19Speaker 4: greatest Pacific Northwest golf legends and it's at Snoqualmi Bridge,
- 36:23Speaker 4: which is just a fabulous place to watch a little golf.
- 36:27Speaker 3: They should call it the Fred Couple's Invitation.
- 36:29Speaker 4: I mean, Bridy's there, a man, he's just the best. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 4: but it's Golf Hall of Famers who will be out there,
- 36:38Speaker 4: apparently a two point three million dollar perse and it
- 36:43Speaker 4: is the only PGA Tour stop this year in the region.
- 36:46Speaker 4: So yeah, if you are a golf fan, text in
- 36:50Speaker 4: the correct answer with your first and last name and
- 36:53Speaker 4: your email address and we'll get you a pair of tickets.
- 36:55Speaker 2: How I got the Tim Brown scoop back in the
- 36:57Speaker 2: day that the Raiders are cutting their captain on a
- 37:00Speaker 2: friend of mine from the top of the show Boing Classic,
- 37:03Speaker 2: The sponsor of the KGRS wall to wall coverage of Seahawks'
- 37:06Speaker 2: training camp. I know what else you're thinking about. In Seattle,
- 37:10Speaker 2: in the Pacific Northwest, the Mariners have an off day
- 37:13Speaker 2: to day traditionally when they make seismic moves. Sports teams,
- 37:17Speaker 2: especially baseball teams in a long season, makes seismic moves
- 37:21Speaker 2: on off days. Well, the fans want Dan Wilson fired.
- 37:25Speaker 2: I don't think it's going to happen. I don't think
- 37:27Speaker 2: it's gonna happen because Jerry to Poto has the man
- 37:30Speaker 2: that he handpicked to be in that spot, the man
- 37:33Speaker 2: who will say yes to whatever Jerry to Poto and
- 37:35Speaker 2: Justin Hollander want him to do. With the iPads, with
- 37:37Speaker 2: the handedness, with the analytics, with whatever six man rotation,
- 37:41Speaker 2: Rob Refschneider, as soon as the left tender comes in
- 37:44Speaker 2: the game. All of it was handpicked by a manager
- 37:46Speaker 2: who had no previous managerial experience at any level, just
- 37:50Speaker 2: like Scott Servis had no previous managerial experience at any level.
- 37:54Speaker 2: There's a reason that that has happened back to back
- 37:56Speaker 2: managers for the last eleven years in this town. Because
- 38:00Speaker 2: for eleven years, Jerry Depoto has been the president of
- 38:02Speaker 2: baseball Operations and before that the general manager. And that's
- 38:06Speaker 2: where I think the buck starts and stops to this
- 38:08Speaker 2: team and his problems. I was sitting there Friday night
- 38:11Speaker 2: with my son. We were watching the game behind third base,
- 38:14Speaker 2: and when it was such a juxposition seventh innning ends strikeouts,
- 38:22Speaker 2: the Mariners blow a golden chance to get back in
- 38:24Speaker 2: the game.
- 38:24Speaker 3: They trail to nothing.
- 38:27Speaker 2: It starts with cold Emerson, two on, nobody out, A
- 38:29Speaker 2: one ninety rookie in the nine spot. Butt him, please
- 38:32Speaker 2: and get the runners over so you can get Taylor
- 38:35Speaker 2: Ward up with two men on and one out. Nope,
- 38:37Speaker 2: he's swinging away and he strikes out.
- 38:39Speaker 3: And so goes the inning.
- 38:41Speaker 2: The adding ends booze, I mean louder booze than I've
- 38:45Speaker 2: heard in that stadium. In a bit from forty thousand
- 38:48Speaker 2: people cue the hot Dogs from Heaven here they come.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I know it's predetermined, Okay, at the end of the
- 38:55Speaker 2: seventh inning, we're gonna do this or whatever ending they
- 38:57Speaker 2: decide to do it on these weekend games. And I
- 39:00Speaker 2: looked up and there are three hot dogs from Heaven
- 39:03Speaker 2: with their parachutes that got stuck on the guy wire,
- 39:06Speaker 2: the wire that controls that third base side camera, you know,
- 39:10Speaker 2: the one that goes on a string up and down
- 39:11Speaker 2: the left field. Three hot dogs got stuck on there.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Oh and I just looked up and it was like
- 39:18Speaker 2: a metaphor for the entire season. Oh here we are.
- 39:23Speaker 2: The park is booing. Then they start the announcement of
- 39:26Speaker 2: hot dogs from Heaven. And the crowdy reps and everybody
- 39:28Speaker 2: who's this there for bobbleheads and fireworks and hot dogs
- 39:31Speaker 2: from Heaven and the home run derby after game are
- 39:33Speaker 2: loving it. And three of them get stuck on the
- 39:35Speaker 2: wire and they're above our head for the rest.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Of the game.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I thought some kid's gonna throw his glove up there
- 39:39Speaker 2: and try to knock him down. Nobody ever did. The
- 39:42Speaker 2: Mariner's mascot, the Moose, came over and looked like he
- 39:45Speaker 2: was pretending to jump to try to pull him down.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Of course he couldn't do that. I mean twenty five
- 39:49Speaker 2: feet above the head.
- 39:50Speaker 5: Like I said, that's fun. You gotta improvise sometimes when
- 39:53Speaker 5: things happen.
- 39:54Speaker 2: I was just looking at this one. This is the
- 39:56Speaker 2: problem with his franchise. Forty thousand people are in the park.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Love these hot dogs from heaven while the baseball product
- 40:02Speaker 2: is absolutely broken and the offense is absolutely broken.
- 40:07Speaker 3: And I like it.
- 40:08Speaker 2: To my son, I said, you know what this is like, Eric,
- 40:10Speaker 2: This is like going to a car dealership, a local
- 40:13Speaker 2: car dealership that you absolutely love.
- 40:15Speaker 3: You love the people, you love the salesmanship.
- 40:17Speaker 2: You love the how beautifully clean and immaculate the floor.
- 40:20Speaker 2: You love that they give you hot chocolate and coffee
- 40:22Speaker 2: when you walk in, and maybe some donuts. You love
- 40:24Speaker 2: the service and the smile, the down home feeling when
- 40:27Speaker 2: you go to the car dealer. But the cars absolutely suck,
- 40:31Speaker 2: like the worst cars in the history of the earth.
- 40:33Speaker 5: So you're basically saying the lemons, Yeah, like a you go.
- 40:38Speaker 2: So they have all this other stuff to get you
- 40:40Speaker 2: in the door, and when you're in the door, you're
- 40:42Speaker 2: so comfortable when you're enjoying the experience, but the actual
- 40:45Speaker 2: product that you're there for, the car sucks. That's what
- 40:50Speaker 2: the Mariners are right now. They're a car dealership that
- 40:52Speaker 2: sells sucking cars.
- 40:54Speaker 3: They have everything else.
- 40:56Speaker 5: They're going coffee, the cold water exactly.
- 41:00Speaker 2: All the amenities that make you want to be there,
- 41:02Speaker 2: and a great experience of being in the dealership. But
- 41:05Speaker 2: the damn product you're there to buy and pay for sucks.
- 41:08Speaker 2: And that's where they are right now, seven games under
- 41:12Speaker 2: five hundred and a division that is one of the
- 41:13Speaker 2: worst in the baseball history that they should be absolutely
- 41:16Speaker 2: boat racing in front of And as I mentioned earlier,
- 41:20Speaker 2: the buck start and stops at the top because you
- 41:23Speaker 2: Rob Reschneider was not Dan Wilson.
- 41:25Speaker 3: The six man rotation was not Dan Wilson.
- 41:28Speaker 2: The decisions they made on we're going to do exit
- 41:30Speaker 2: velos and launch angles as our offensive philosophy, not just
- 41:34Speaker 2: at at Seattle, but from high a effort all the
- 41:37Speaker 2: way up. That's not Dan Wilson's decision. To me, that's
- 41:41Speaker 2: where it starts. And you could fire the manager to try,
- 41:43Speaker 2: you a desperate way to try to get a spark.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I don't see it happening. They got there, yes, man,
- 41:49Speaker 2: but what he's saying yes to isn't working. And that's
- 41:52Speaker 2: to me, the systemic problem with the marinon four nine,
- 41:54Speaker 2: four or fivet one. Your opinions on this, your opinions
- 41:58Speaker 2: on whether you want Dan Wilson hired, or whether the
- 42:00Speaker 2: problems are so much more higher, much much higher than
- 42:04Speaker 2: it's the car dealership to set that show.
- 42:06Speaker 4: It's just so hard to determine. It's just so hard
- 42:09Speaker 4: to fifty years determined fifty years.
- 42:12Speaker 2: The boat has had eleven years to do this, and
- 42:14Speaker 2: now he's got a World Series quality pitch at which,
- 42:16Speaker 2: to his credit, he built, which he drafted, which he farmed,
- 42:20Speaker 2: which he developed. I will absolutely credit him for that,
- 42:23Speaker 2: and I have and most of the baseball has but
- 42:26Speaker 2: eleven years and fifty years on top of that, and
- 42:31Speaker 2: here they are only four games out. That's the crazy thing,
- 42:34Speaker 2: only four games out. Look at this and for Ness
- 42:38Speaker 2: and Ian for Ness Junior just walked in to see how.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I'm next.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Anthony Bradford, the man you love to hate. I think
- 42:49Speaker 2: you might have a different view of him, or at
- 42:51Speaker 2: least I ask you to listen to this interview with
- 42:53Speaker 2: him with an open mind and see what you think.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Anthony Bradford's going to join us next from Seahawks training
- 42:57Speaker 2: camp on ninety three point three KJRFL.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Now from the Star Rentals Sports to Us Jordan, ninety
- 43:05Speaker 1: three point three kg R FM Sports Headlines.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Good morning, Happy Monday to you. Headlines have brought to
- 43:11Speaker 2: you by Frost Brewed Course light juice chill. Seahawks training
- 43:14Speaker 2: camp practice fourteen is to this afternoon. Thirteen was on
- 43:17Speaker 2: Saturday night at the annual FanFest of Lumenfield, Jnarian Price
- 43:20Speaker 2: did not practice for the second day in a row.
- 43:22Speaker 3: On Saturday night.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Coach Mike McDonald said this of his lead running back
- 43:26Speaker 2: and rookie first round picked.
- 43:27Speaker 8: Yeah, so I think we're going with a legs upper legs,
- 43:33Speaker 8: hornis set, lower body.
- 43:36Speaker 10: Sons somewhere between the upper leg and lower body sons.
- 43:43Speaker 3: I don't I'm not making light of it.
- 43:44Speaker 9: It's it's a it's a it's a minor issue right now.
- 43:47Speaker 8: It's we'll see. It's a it's matter of days, so
- 43:50Speaker 8: I'll be back soon.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Star of the Saturday practice, Aj Finley intercepted Sam Darnold
- 43:56Speaker 2: in a scrimmage almost a year to the day he
- 43:58Speaker 2: blew out his knee in the same event. All missed
- 44:00Speaker 2: all of last season because of a torn acl Stories
- 44:03Speaker 2: up on that at the Newstribune dot Com. Seahawksfydportally hosted
- 44:07Speaker 2: Lions first round pick Tara and Arnold on a free
- 44:09Speaker 2: agent visit for the second time yesterday. Detroit cut it
- 44:13Speaker 2: starting running back and former first round pick after he
- 44:15Speaker 2: posted one million dollar bond while charged with eight felonies
- 44:18Speaker 2: in Florida for alleged kidnapping and robbery. Prosecutors in Tampa
- 44:22Speaker 2: alledged Arnold orchestrated the abduction and beating of three men.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Prosecutors say Arnold wrongly is suspected of stealing one hundred
- 44:29Speaker 2: thousand dollars in cash plus luxury items from him. Arnold
- 44:33Speaker 2: is now reportedly visiting the New Orleans Saints today as
- 44:35Speaker 2: a free agent out on bond. Mariners was sunk their
- 44:40Speaker 2: lowest point all season, seven games under five. Ander got
- 44:42Speaker 2: swept by Tampa Bay on their fiftieth anniversary celebration weekend.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Scored four runs and three losses eight runs total in
- 44:48Speaker 2: the six game homestand they went one in five. They've
- 44:50Speaker 2: lost thirteen of eighteen. I guess the only good news
- 44:53Speaker 2: is they don't play today off day. Tomorrow they fly
- 44:56Speaker 2: to New York to play the Yankees. Fans want to
- 44:58Speaker 2: know if this off day is the day they're going
- 44:59Speaker 2: to fire Dan Wilson. I just don't see it happening.
- 45:02Speaker 2: So we talked about last segment, Sounders one Hey, Sounders
- 45:04Speaker 2: one after club record seven straight defeats they go. Feltz's
- 45:08Speaker 2: League mxide crew Tero yesterday three nil in league's cup play.
- 45:12Speaker 2: The storm lost again at WNBA Expansion Portland. The Stormers
- 45:15Speaker 2: six and twenty eight. Laramie Tunzel, the Washington Commanders left tackle,
- 45:19Speaker 2: highest paid offensive lineman for the Commanders. It's expected to
- 45:22Speaker 2: miss well into this season because he needs triceps surgery.
- 45:25Speaker 2: The Seahawks play at the Commanders in Week three, and
- 45:28Speaker 2: it sounds like Washington won't have its prize left tackle
- 45:31Speaker 2: and three time NBA Coach of the Year Hall of
- 45:33Speaker 2: Fame Don Nelson died yesterday.
- 45:35Speaker 3: He was eighty six years old.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Back at Seahawks training camp at ninety three point three
- 45:47Speaker 2: KJFM Drake.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Bell News tribute with Anthony Bradford.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Anthony proud Father is out with the autographs, holding his
- 45:56Speaker 2: three month old daughter in one arm and signing.
- 45:59Speaker 3: With his other arm the facts. How how has that
- 46:02Speaker 3: changed you just as a man, let alone a football player.
- 46:05Speaker 7: Uh?
- 46:05Speaker 10: This then opened up my mind for sure. You know
- 46:08Speaker 10: what I'm saying, Just taking care of another human being.
- 46:12Speaker 10: It's just like the love is different. It's like like
- 46:14Speaker 10: everybody else's everybody else says, It's like it's nothing that
- 46:17Speaker 10: you can really explain, like, I love it. It was
- 46:21Speaker 10: today was cool, you know. Yeah, it's like good hard practice.
- 46:26Speaker 10: You know what I'm saying, morning practice, fans out there
- 46:28Speaker 10: after gett to get some grass time, my daughters.
- 46:30Speaker 3: It's pretty cool. Man.
- 46:32Speaker 2: You can't see it on radio, but Anthony Briver has
- 46:34Speaker 2: a huge smile as white as his shoulders as.
- 46:36Speaker 5: You can hear a smile sometimes.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Cash and his three year old daughter, He and his
- 46:42Speaker 3: wife Nya. Is that you pronounce your nia?
- 46:45Speaker 11: Nia?
- 46:45Speaker 3: Thank you? Nia.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Have a new daughter, three month old, Cash, And you
- 46:49Speaker 2: have a lot of teammates on this team about the
- 46:51Speaker 2: same age as your mid twenties the late twenties, who
- 46:53Speaker 2: have recently married and have reached some children. Yeah, they
- 46:56Speaker 2: probably told you what it's like, but can you not.
- 46:58Speaker 2: You can't be told until you're Yeah, you can't be told.
- 47:02Speaker 2: And too it's like it's in front of you. You
- 47:03Speaker 2: know what I'm saying.
- 47:04Speaker 10: Just the crying and just the good times the bad times.
- 47:07Speaker 10: It's a whole new world. But you know, I'm happy
- 47:10Speaker 10: to be there, happy to be there.
- 47:11Speaker 2: He's the fourth year starting right guard. Of course he
- 47:13Speaker 2: started once he was a rookie that the Seahawks drafted
- 47:15Speaker 2: out of LSU a few years ago. Anthony Bradford with
- 47:18Speaker 2: us here at Seahawks training camp.
- 47:20Speaker 3: The continuity that you five have.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Brian Fleer, the new offensive coordinator, mentioned that that's unusually
- 47:26Speaker 2: the NFL, especially for a super Bowl team, where guys
- 47:29Speaker 2: tend to get paid and try to find somebody. How
- 47:31Speaker 2: has that shown up this training camp to all five
- 47:33Speaker 2: of you back together and how you.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Know each other?
- 47:36Speaker 5: Uh?
- 47:36Speaker 10: I think it just shows every day that we come
- 47:38Speaker 10: out out to practice and work. Bro Like, I don't
- 47:42Speaker 10: know how to explain it, just like camp. Like it's
- 47:44Speaker 10: just like it's like I was like math camp or
- 47:46Speaker 10: something like that, you know what I'm saying. Like we've
- 47:48Speaker 10: been there. We was there last year. You know what
- 47:50Speaker 10: I'm saying. We back at it again this year. And
- 47:52Speaker 10: it's just like being with these same guys over these
- 47:55Speaker 10: over these three or four years that I've been with them,
- 47:57Speaker 10: is just like there's nothing else that you can ask
- 47:59Speaker 10: for us actually being in the league where like like
- 48:01Speaker 10: you said, guys getting paid and moves getting made and this,
- 48:05Speaker 10: this and that, and it's just like it's a blessing.
- 48:06Speaker 10: I'm happy to be here where I'm at, you know
- 48:09Speaker 10: what I'm saying. I feel like you can just see
- 48:10Speaker 10: it every day when we go out there on the
- 48:12Speaker 10: grass and we pass protecting, you know what I'm saying, giving,
- 48:16Speaker 10: giving each other like notes and stuff on our game
- 48:19Speaker 10: as we go through practice and stuff like that. Just
- 48:21Speaker 10: finding ways to get better together. And it's great.
- 48:23Speaker 3: Is it a point where you can just head nod
- 48:24Speaker 3: to a Lucas next to you.
- 48:26Speaker 10: Because yeah, you know what he's Yeah, me and he,
- 48:28Speaker 10: we we didnet made our bond a little closer and
- 48:31Speaker 10: closer every each year that we've been playing next to
- 48:33Speaker 10: each other, and I feel like this year it might
- 48:35Speaker 10: be a little special one.
- 48:36Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. Yeah, Hey, that's my guy.
- 48:37Speaker 10: You know what I'm saying. We have our little talks
- 48:40Speaker 10: on the field, off the field and stuff, So yeah,
- 48:42Speaker 10: that's my guy. I'll go to war with them every day.
- 48:44Speaker 10: Of course, you notice that they gave a new contract
- 48:46Speaker 10: to a Bluke.
- 48:47Speaker 2: They gave me the contract that Charles Cross the Left deserved.
- 48:51Speaker 2: You're next your contract. This is the end of your contract.
- 48:54Speaker 2: How much I know you might say you haven't thought
- 48:56Speaker 2: about it if you have a wife or a new baby.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Of course, the next move is what in your mind?
- 49:00Speaker 2: Where's that stand? Have they approached you about a new
- 49:03Speaker 2: deal and would you like to stay?
- 49:04Speaker 4: Uh?
- 49:05Speaker 10: They happen to personal me about a new deal, and
- 49:06Speaker 10: I would like I would love to stay, bro. Like
- 49:09Speaker 10: I was literally talking about this with my brother the
- 49:10Speaker 10: other day. It's just like it's nowhere else I would
- 49:13Speaker 10: rather be.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Bro.
- 49:14Speaker 10: I just feel like my heart and soul is in Seattle.
- 49:16Speaker 10: I feel like I am a Seahawk, you know what
- 49:18Speaker 10: I'm saying. And if I can spend the next ten
- 49:21Speaker 10: to fifteen years here, I sign that contract quick, bro.
- 49:25Speaker 10: So Uh, yeah, of course I want to be here.
- 49:27Speaker 10: I love the fans, I love my teammates, love the
- 49:29Speaker 10: coaching staff that we got here, and I just left
- 49:31Speaker 10: what we're building here and I wouldn't want to I
- 49:33Speaker 10: wouldn't want to go and start in the where else,
- 49:35Speaker 10: you know what I'm saying.
- 49:35Speaker 2: So yeah, please, he said, please Anthony Bradford to starting
- 49:42Speaker 2: right card.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Do you know how this business works? Do you feel
- 49:45Speaker 3: like you are you have to prove it?
- 49:47Speaker 2: Or this year is another proved year for you?
- 49:49Speaker 3: Is that how you take it? I mean I feel
- 49:51Speaker 3: like every year in the league you got to prove
- 49:53Speaker 3: yourself while you belong. You know what I'm saying.
- 49:56Speaker 10: I know, for people outside of the building, it's kind
- 49:58Speaker 10: of hard for them to understand why I am in
- 50:01Speaker 10: the place that I am. But people in the building
- 50:04Speaker 10: and me and myself understand why I'm in the place
- 50:07Speaker 10: I am. It's because we all, like I said, we
- 50:09Speaker 10: all come here and work every day, and that's on
- 50:11Speaker 10: my mind every day, just to work, be where I'm
- 50:13Speaker 10: at and do my job, just so you know, I
- 50:15Speaker 10: can put myself in the best position.
- 50:18Speaker 3: That I can. You know what I'm saying. You say
- 50:20Speaker 3: people in the building understand? Have they told you? Do
- 50:22Speaker 3: you get feedback like that. It's a business where maybe
- 50:24Speaker 3: you don't hear when you're doing well, but.
- 50:27Speaker 10: I mean it's like confirmation, Like you know what I'm saying,
- 50:28Speaker 10: Like you do something good on the field, just then
- 50:30Speaker 10: you get confirmation from your coach and just like as
- 50:33Speaker 10: long as you stay on your on your task and
- 50:35Speaker 10: like you know, you're not in anybody's bad grace and
- 50:37Speaker 10: stuff like that, it's pretty good to me. So what
- 50:40Speaker 10: has John Benton done for you personally in your career?
- 50:44Speaker 10: I feel like he's done a lot. Bro Like just
- 50:46Speaker 10: the past, the past year and some that I've been
- 50:49Speaker 10: with him. Uh, he just made me into a better player,
- 50:52Speaker 10: like just holding myself accountable for different stuff like a
- 50:56Speaker 10: bad block, you know what I'm saying, holding myself accountable
- 50:58Speaker 10: for that and then knowing that like this played next
- 51:01Speaker 10: play mindset. You know what I'm saying. Just old line
- 51:03Speaker 10: is a gritty mud position. And I feel like John
- 51:06Speaker 10: benn is the best coach just to get you ready
- 51:08Speaker 10: for that, like all the guys in the run through
- 51:10Speaker 10: a wall for him, you know what I'm saying. I
- 51:12Speaker 10: feel like he just build me into a better man,
- 51:14Speaker 10: build me into a better player. It's a great coach,
- 51:17Speaker 10: great online coach.
- 51:18Speaker 2: When you got word enter around the Super Bowl that
- 51:20Speaker 2: Klint Kubiak was leaving, were you in the offensive lineman
- 51:23Speaker 2: lobby and John Benton to stage you even have discussions
- 51:26Speaker 2: for her.
- 51:27Speaker 10: We didn't have any discussions with him, but we were
- 51:29Speaker 10: messing with him a little bit for so like, please
- 51:31Speaker 10: don't leave it man, please because you know JB.
- 51:33Speaker 3: I don't feel like nobody else deserve JB. Man for us,
- 51:37Speaker 3: for us man.
- 51:39Speaker 2: How much did just focusing on the outside zone last
- 51:42Speaker 2: help you? And maybe the whole line because the year
- 51:45Speaker 2: before you did everything. You were doing gap scheme, you
- 51:48Speaker 2: were blocking, pull your inside outside and then Benton comes in.
- 51:51Speaker 3: It's coach Benton's we're outside zone. We might switch for
- 51:54Speaker 3: a game plan, but we're outside zone. How much did
- 51:56Speaker 3: that help you?
- 51:57Speaker 10: It helped me a lot with my game because it's
- 51:59Speaker 10: just like me being a big guy and playing on
- 52:01Speaker 10: the inside and just getting my feet running and going
- 52:04Speaker 10: on those angles and able to cut guys off and
- 52:06Speaker 10: like kind of cut off like split the defense and
- 52:08Speaker 10: stuff like it's pretty hard for an old lineman, especially
- 52:11Speaker 10: for myself that I'm kind of like heavier and stuff.
- 52:13Speaker 10: So just working on it and working on it and
- 52:15Speaker 10: working on it and just becoming the habit for it
- 52:18Speaker 10: for that's what that's what he made it for, is
- 52:19Speaker 10: is a habit. So yeah, we he just stressed that
- 52:22Speaker 10: over like the off seasons and stuff, and like we're
- 52:24Speaker 10: gonna get good at this. This is us and if
- 52:26Speaker 10: you basically if you can't can't get with it and
- 52:28Speaker 10: get left, you know what I'm saying.
- 52:30Speaker 3: So that's how it is.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Did you have to change the way you prepared for
- 52:33Speaker 2: the season and train because it's a more lateral movement often, Uh.
- 52:37Speaker 10: Not really like just really just conditioning, to be honest,
- 52:40Speaker 10: just being able to go on those long drives, being
- 52:42Speaker 10: able to just sustain blots for a long period of time. Yeah,
- 52:47Speaker 10: because I feel like I'm a very nimble for my side,
- 52:49Speaker 10: I'm very nimble in like an athletic and stuff.
- 52:51Speaker 3: I can use my feet.
- 52:52Speaker 10: It just as far as like conditioning and being able
- 52:55Speaker 10: to sustain those long drives and stuff. That's all I
- 52:57Speaker 10: really was worried about.
- 52:59Speaker 3: You're twenty something. You know the world we live in
- 53:01Speaker 3: with internet clips and Twitter and Instagram, and you're laughing
- 53:06Speaker 3: because you know what I'm about that.
- 53:08Speaker 2: How do you deal with I mean, there's chucks on
- 53:10Speaker 2: the couch, you've never played football. Who were saying Anthony
- 53:13Speaker 2: Bradford miss this block or did this or did that?
- 53:16Speaker 3: Do you see it? Do people show you? What did
- 53:18Speaker 3: your reaction? Yeah?
- 53:18Speaker 10: I see everything, man, So the dude that's out there,
- 53:21Speaker 10: dudes that's out there, mate, I see everything.
- 53:23Speaker 3: It's pretty It's funny to me, Like, I ain't gonna
- 53:25Speaker 3: lie to you.
- 53:26Speaker 10: The first time that, like the first few videos that
- 53:29Speaker 10: I was like right across from people that showed me,
- 53:31Speaker 10: I was like, damn, Like people were really taking their
- 53:34Speaker 10: time out of the day to like go do this
- 53:35Speaker 10: to this and for me, and I'm like, man, that's
- 53:37Speaker 10: kind of But then I was like, hey, it's kind
- 53:39Speaker 10: of funny to be honest, Like you know, it's just like, hey,
- 53:42Speaker 10: give me a little different like outside of like, hey,
- 53:45Speaker 10: I got beat on this, this is what I need
- 53:46Speaker 10: to do. It's kind of like double film. You know
- 53:48Speaker 10: what I'm saying, Double film, you know what I'm saying.
- 53:51Speaker 10: So it's pretty funny to me. I don't really let
- 53:53Speaker 10: it get to me. Yeah, I see everything though, Okay,
- 53:58Speaker 10: be warrened.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Anthony Bradford starting right guard for the seahawksers with US
- 54:04Speaker 2: in ninety three point three kJ R FM.
- 54:07Speaker 3: You've been here now.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Four offensive coordinators in four years, and if you count LSU,
- 54:11Speaker 2: I guess it's five and five year. Did you have
- 54:13Speaker 2: two in your last two LSU years?
- 54:15Speaker 3: Yep? Six six different offensive codas six years. Yeah, three
- 54:19Speaker 3: offensive line coaches in four years, which is why you
- 54:22Speaker 3: big that John Betton came back. How have you How
- 54:25Speaker 3: different has that been? How hard is that for an
- 54:27Speaker 3: offensive lineman that you got a new coordinator and play
- 54:30Speaker 3: caller six years in a row.
- 54:33Speaker 10: I just gotta have your head on your shoulders. Man,
- 54:35Speaker 10: just a lot of thinking, you know what I'm saying,
- 54:36Speaker 10: Like just new schemes every year. It's kind of difficult because,
- 54:40Speaker 10: like you know, of course, when people want to go
- 54:42Speaker 10: into the off season just feel comfortable with the playbook
- 54:44Speaker 10: and not really having to worry about it through the
- 54:46Speaker 10: off season so when you get back you can kind
- 54:48Speaker 10: of be in shape and just get the rolling. But
- 54:51Speaker 10: having new coordinators every year is kind of like, dang,
- 54:53Speaker 10: now I gotta train and I gotta get my hand
- 54:56Speaker 10: in the playbook extra extra hard, you know what I'm saying,
- 54:58Speaker 10: Just to come back and not be behind the ball
- 55:00Speaker 10: and and not be late on like cars and like
- 55:04Speaker 10: you know what I'm saying, like just be ahead of
- 55:05Speaker 10: the playbook. So it's been pretty cool, Like this is
- 55:08Speaker 10: the part, Like I said, this has been the smoothest
- 55:10Speaker 10: year for me in about five years. So just having
- 55:13Speaker 10: the same kind of like scheme back to back years
- 55:15Speaker 10: and the same on wine coach and stuff.
- 55:17Speaker 3: So this this feels great. So Brian fleuryes, well, he
- 55:21Speaker 3: may have some different terminology. He has the Shanahan outside zones,
- 55:24Speaker 3: so it's not that different. Yeah, it's not that different,
- 55:25Speaker 3: Not different, just three different words and stuff like that.
- 55:28Speaker 2: But when I'm writing this story for the News Tribute,
- 55:31Speaker 2: and I will not get the scene out of my head.
- 55:33Speaker 2: If you signing autographs with you right now, baby with
- 55:35Speaker 2: your left then Yeah, as a father of two that
- 55:38Speaker 2: are now twenty three years old, I can remember those days.
- 55:40Speaker 3: What's the biggest challenge? Is it sleep? Is it diaper changes?
- 55:43Speaker 3: Is helping mama? What have you learned about being a
- 55:46Speaker 3: dad in three months?
- 55:48Speaker 10: Uh? What I learned is, like you gotta be It's
- 55:51Speaker 10: about the little things. You know what I'm saying, Like,
- 55:53Speaker 10: it's not it's not too much about the big thing.
- 55:55Speaker 10: It's about the little things that make everything go easier.
- 55:57Speaker 10: That's why I really worried about it. Shout out to
- 55:59Speaker 10: Nia for helping me out with that. She's been a
- 56:01Speaker 10: big host. She's a great mom, and I wouldn't I
- 56:04Speaker 10: wouldn't be able to tell you that right now without her.
- 56:06Speaker 10: You know what I'm saying, be in there for me,
- 56:08Speaker 10: So yeah, I would say that is just a little
- 56:09Speaker 10: things that met her.
- 56:10Speaker 3: If you don't mind telling the listeners the story you
- 56:12Speaker 3: told me of where you met me. Yeah, I met
- 56:14Speaker 3: her in elementary school. How about that Michigan.
- 56:17Speaker 10: Yeah, I met her elementary school. We grew up together.
- 56:20Speaker 10: She went to a different middle school, but came back
- 56:22Speaker 10: to our high school and I've been knowring her ever since.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Did you go to the prom together? No, we did.
- 56:26Speaker 3: We was not. It was that close to going to
- 56:28Speaker 3: Palm together. But we didn't go to prom together. Sally,
- 56:31Speaker 3: how did that get? I mean, did you ever talk
- 56:33Speaker 3: about that after? Yeah? She definitely. She asked the words
- 56:35Speaker 3: about it for sure? For sure? Oh it was your choice? Yeah, okay,
- 56:40Speaker 3: maybe yes, sir. The inside scooped to Anthony.
- 56:46Speaker 2: I know you're busy, man.
- 56:47Speaker 3: It's great to catch up with you. Maybe your wish
- 56:50Speaker 3: will come true and they give you ten or fifteen
- 56:52Speaker 3: year stay here in Seattle. Yeah, that's the life for you, sir.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Appreciate you.
- 56:59Speaker 2: That's Anthony Bradford. I sat down with him after practice
- 57:02Speaker 2: on Friday and take that for today's show.
- 57:05Speaker 3: You heard him say it.
- 57:06Speaker 2: The people in the building myself, they know why I'm here,
- 57:10Speaker 2: and he's well aware of the critics that he has
- 57:13Speaker 2: that cut up miss blocks of his and show it online.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Mike McDonald has said throughout last season, throughout this offseason,
- 57:19Speaker 2: into this preseason They love Anthony Bradford. They love what
- 57:22Speaker 2: he is in this offense. They love how his lateral
- 57:25Speaker 2: quickness for a man his size, and the outside zone scheme. Jessmine,
- 57:29Speaker 2: it does not appear as though he's going anywhere. They
- 57:33Speaker 2: have a final year of his contract this year to
- 57:36Speaker 2: play on. It would not surprise me if they re
- 57:38Speaker 2: up him during the season at some point, yeah, if
- 57:41Speaker 2: not after the season, yeah.
- 57:42Speaker 4: And I just want people to actually know him a
- 57:46Speaker 4: little bit more, which is one of the lovely things
- 57:48Speaker 4: that we get from being out here at training camp
- 57:51Speaker 4: is getting to know the player and not just the
- 57:53Speaker 4: on field player, and also the motivation that comes with
- 57:57Speaker 4: being a new father. I think I've seen a lot
- 58:00Speaker 4: of change in players, and you know, it does change
- 58:06Speaker 4: what happens on the field, It really does, especially.
- 58:08Speaker 2: For a man who's twenty five years old. I've noticed
- 58:11Speaker 2: that I noticed the difference this summer already in Anthony Bradford.
- 58:15Speaker 2: He's much more at ease, he's as much more perspective
- 58:18Speaker 2: on bigger picture, and he's much more open talking about
- 58:22Speaker 2: and meeting his wife. I've known him for four years now.
- 58:24Speaker 2: He's never really spoken about meeting his wife. In grade school,
- 58:27Speaker 2: before back in Muskegan, Michigan and crediting her with all
- 58:31Speaker 2: he has become.
- 58:33Speaker 5: Well, it's a family sport.
- 58:34Speaker 3: It is it is to me.
- 58:36Speaker 5: I grew up in it and football is family to me.
- 58:40Speaker 2: And then you start thinking, Okay, he's a super Bowl champion.
- 58:43Speaker 2: He's a four year starter. This will be his fourth
- 58:45Speaker 2: or four years starting in the league, coming in as
- 58:48Speaker 2: a draft pick from LSU. What would they resign him for?
- 58:52Speaker 2: I mean, the Patriots have a starting left guard who
- 58:55Speaker 2: makes fourteen million a year, Elijah Verah Tucker that the
- 58:58Speaker 2: Seahawks defense ran over in the Super Bowl in February.
- 59:01Speaker 2: It is he make Kevin Dotson of the Rams type money.
- 59:03Speaker 2: It's sixteen million a year. The top guard in the
- 59:06Speaker 2: NFL is Tyler Smith. I'm not trying to say Anthony
- 59:08Speaker 2: Bradford's the top guard in the NFL, but for a
- 59:11Speaker 2: perspective on money, Tyler Smith with the Cowboys same age
- 59:15Speaker 2: as Bradford, twenty five years old. He makes twenty four
- 59:18Speaker 2: million dollars a year in a ninety six million dollar contract.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Eighty one of that is guaranteed, has some void years
- 59:25Speaker 2: at the end of it, but he's signed through twenty
- 59:27Speaker 2: thirty with the Cowboys. Tray Smith of the Chiefs is
- 59:29Speaker 2: twenty seven, makes twenty three to five a year on average,
- 59:33Speaker 2: with seventy million of ninety four million guaranteed. Then you
- 59:37Speaker 2: get guys like Matthew berger On for the Falcons and
- 59:39Speaker 2: Luke Goodkey of the Buccaneers, Landon Dickerson of the Eagles,
- 59:42Speaker 2: Chris Linster of the Falcons, Quintin Nelson the Colts, Robert
- 59:46Speaker 2: Hunt of the Panthers, who's older thirty years old. All
- 59:49Speaker 2: of that, I'm giving you a market value of guards
- 59:52Speaker 2: in the NFL. But he's probably gonna be around fourteen
- 59:56Speaker 2: million a year. I would think Elijah Verah Tucker of
- 59:59Speaker 2: the Patriot type of money if they do resign him,
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: if he has another season like he had last season,
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: and look, he'll tell you he's miss black.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: He said that in the interview he.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Missed blocks, and the Seahawks offensive line they missed box
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: every block defense gets into the backfield.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: In the NFL, it happens.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: It is peculiar how much he has become a lightning
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: rod for fans to post clips of him missing blocks.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: It's just this team won the Super Bowl and the
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: offensive line that was absolutely terrible for ten years. Was
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: a big reason why they fixed themselves under John Benton
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: in a singular purpose of Outside Zone last year.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: Yet the.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Spewing the videos out on the line of Anthony Bradford persisted,
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: and you heard him talk about that. If you missed
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: the interview, you can go to the iHeart Radio app.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: You can go to nine through three kjard dot com
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: the Greg Bell Show page on the left side to
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: rehear on my interview with Anthony Bradford'll probably be writing
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: about that in a couple of days here at the
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: News Tribune dot com. Up next is your chance to
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: be a part of the show. Four nine four one
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: is the Takomadad's text line, Jessmine really really really likes
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: talkbacks on the talk back.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: I'm not as lonely back in the studio today because
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: I get to be out of here with you.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: But we do love your voices on this show.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Travis, is mogar Beck in the studio? Sorry, fielding some talkbacks? Well,
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: how do you find talkbacks? Go to ninety three KJR

- 1:01:20Speaker 2: On the right top page is a right microphone button
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: or the iHeartRadio app ninety three KJR also a red
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: microphone button. Leave a thirty second or shorter voicemail message.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: We'll play that back. A lot of text rolling in
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: about Dan Wilson in the man who's the blame gamely
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: on for the Mariners and whether there at seven games
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: under five hundred? Is it with Dan Wilson? Is it
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: with Jerry Depoto? I've already stated what I've said. We'll
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: hear what you say next on ninety three point three KJRFF.
- 1:01:53Speaker 11: Craig and Jeff Joel here, Hey, Wilson should be gone.
- 1:01:56Speaker 8: He's over his head.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: But he's a puppet. It's a puppet master.
- 1:02:00Speaker 11: The guru analytics king, Dobloto should be gone. He can
- 1:02:04Speaker 11: scout pitching Lostella Pollock, Long, Rev Schninder, Mike Ford, Solono,
- 1:02:10Speaker 11: Zebbi Zabala. No, that's not a men's softball league team.
- 1:02:14Speaker 11: Those are the so called guru hitters that Depoto has
- 1:02:18Speaker 11: brought in. Dobloto should be gone.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: I was trying to my little superstition with the Mariners.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: Last year.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: I used to start watching the game late, like the
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: third inning.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: I started watching it this season when I turned it
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: on the third in the third inning and they're down
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: by two.
- 1:02:34Speaker 9: I turn it off because I know they're gonna lose.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Down back two, They're gonna lose. I get there. I
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: get that feeling.
- 1:02:45Speaker 5: People are not happy with the Mariners.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Outline that better than I could about the hitters. The
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: yeah than I did about the long list of hitting
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: signings that have just not worked out.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: They just failed. They failed in that regard for you.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: They've been built on home runs or bust, and except
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: for the season that Kyle Rawly hit sixty one home runs,
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: it's mostly been busted. One other playoff season in the
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: eleven years under Jerry to Poto's regime, and only two managers,
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: nine years with Scott Servis who never managed at any
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: level before that, and two years with Dan Wilson, who
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: had never managed at that level, who they hired the
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: Poto pick to replace the guy who had never managed before.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: See a trend there, I don't know, it's just pretty obvious.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Well.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: I think that the way you went back in history,
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: in the way that you've described it too, is that
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: the front office is making more decisions than people think
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: that the managers are making.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Yes, and I still don't think major league players need
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: to have a manager who can motivate them.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: I think that you've said that too.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: I just don't see that as their problem.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: I just don't if the players aren't playing and who
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: got the players two five three, nothing changes with replacing Dan.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: The m Zonners are able to create a quote competitive
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: ninety one team unquote. That's all they're trying to do,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: and not create a World Series team, just a middling one.
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: They have no incentive to change anything. They're raking in
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: cash from a full stadium. Attitude reflects leadership, of which
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: the Mariners have none. The Mariners average over thirty almost
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: thirty six thousand a game in attendance. That's five thousand
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: ahead of last year. That's five thousand more fifteen dollars
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: hot dogs, that's five more twenty dollars beers, that's five
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: fifty dollars parking spots five to yeah, the ferry boats
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: that sell out, the fairy boat food, containers of fried
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: food that sell out all the time. That's five thousand
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: more this year than last year. That's money in the
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: owners of the Mariner's pockets.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: We can't blame them for that because they have to
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: do that. They have to do their jobs and they
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: create a wonderful, family friendly fan experience. But I do
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: understand the frustration on the other end when that's what's
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: being publicized during a losing season.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: The baseball team, the baseball operations of failure, that it's
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: a business enterprise. It's a success and play and owners
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: own teams for as a business and they are in it.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: It is a business and they are succeeding in that business.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Four two five trade Holy One not a leader or
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: primetime player. Bringing Suarez back from Cincinnati, he's a leader.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: MS have no leadership. We've talked about on this show
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: many times. Who is the kick in the ass guy
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: in the Mariners clubhouse.
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: That's what's hard to identify because the guys that you
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: wanted to be are underperforming.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: So how can they be that guy at this time?
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: And who can be?
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: I mean, you've lauded Cole Young, but he's not he's not.
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: No, he can't be.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: He's too young.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Randy Rose Arena to me is the prime candidate because
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: he's on his way out the door. He's going to
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: be a free agent this offseason and he's going to
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: go to market, and if he cared, he probably raise hell,
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: and he has Cashier as a multi multi time All
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Star and one of the team's only true threats as hitters.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: I could see him doing that.
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: What about World Blaze?
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: He cups his ass when I'm in that club house. Man,
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: everybody knows when he's coming around the corner.
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: He's well one time. Yes, two IH six. Was it
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: a Seahawks question?
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Was it hard to get Bradford an interview with all
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: the criticism he gets on kJ R from the afternoon show.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: No, it was not hard to get Anthony Bradford.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: I asked for him, and I got him because I
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: have a relationship with him from being out here every
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: day for the last four years. Yeah, as you could tell,
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: he wasn't exactly miserable talking to me.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Let me just tell you, these guys aren't out here
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: listening to sports talk radio. They aren't, so they well,
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: they might have people to tell him that somebody's ripping
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: you for this, or that they really don't care. Yeah,
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: and also they do care about online because they look
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: at social media.
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: And or someone sends them social media and oh yeah,
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: that was bleeped up.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: All right, two O six says, Okay, serious question, No, sarcasm.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Where do the ms are only four games out of first?
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: People think this season's going because the best case scenario
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: is there Baseball's versions of this year's Patriots. And I
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: think it's even a pipe dream, and I want nothing.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: To do with it.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Even that's a pipe dream, it says Toosex literally cried
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: when lou Panela took the field Saturday night. Hope I
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: look that good at eighty two years old. A little
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: math for you. The Mariners need to play seven hundred
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: ball the rest of the season to hit ch a
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Poto's line of five forty fifty four percent.
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: Oh, he'll never escape that quote.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: No, that really didn't go well except except the fact
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: that we could really be happy with that right now.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Yeah, how sad. That's how sad this season is. Fifty
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: four percent would be a massive improvement where they're at
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: Top of the tradition.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Seven games.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they'd be cruising if they were at fifty four
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: percent right now, exactly Toosex. Foundationally, I'm a Mariners fan
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: for life from Chip every buddy. This team cannot pull
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: me back or push me away. If a building is
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: on fire, you don't care who started, just get the
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: hell out of there. The hell of a sense of urgency.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: The Mariners building is burning and they're just looking around
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: saying tough fire or are there? Eh, there's no rush
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: with this team. They just kind of hang out on
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: the field and lose like they're used to it. Maybe
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: next year. Well explicitly said two five three. I just
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: want Dan Wilson to grow a player, throw the rules
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: away and call a game the way he knows how
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: a game should be played. If they win and can't
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: be fired, this is ridiculous. Four two five on about
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Terry on Arnold. Have you seen This is from Steven
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Abbott who looks like he's a bar cleared lawyer. Have
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: you seen the charges? They are extreme. Arnold is a
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: big name and I'm sure the people who committed the
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: assault will flip on arnored floor.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: Plea deal. Seahawks don't need this clown.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: Steven Abbott, Well, I don't think they need him, but
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: do due diligence is due diligence.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: First round pick, and that's the reason they're even interested.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: And they just want to be in the front of
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: the line if he's exonerated. And like I said, the
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: added interest makes me think they have some inside info
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: or at least have dug out some things to say
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: he's not going to be charged and prosecuted for this.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm wondering where the line is when it comes
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: to what's acceptable, because it's like.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: A plea deal with Frank Clark completely.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Well, yeah, that one. But you know, I'm wondering your opinion,
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: plead deal, complete exoneration.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: If it's a plea deal and he's I'll tell you
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: what they're going to do.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: If it's a plea deal and he's free to play,
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: if Arnold loved his visit with the Seahawks, they'll sign him,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: if they if the jurisprudence is that these cleared to play,
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: no matter what it is, plea deal, a suspended sentence, probation, whatever.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: I don't know how you can get probation out of
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: these serious of the charges, eight felonies. But but they
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: would sign him. Do I think they should? That's a
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: whole other question. Answers No, not in this culture, not
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: with what Mike McDonald's already brought. Four to five. Dan
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Wilson was hired with zero manager experience. It says major
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: league managing experience, but in fact zero anywhere, not even
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Little League, not even Hot Dog League. This team was
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: supposed to be ready to make a World Series run
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: over multiple years. The reason Dan Wilson was hired instead
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: of a manager with experience is because Jerry to Putto
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: needed a yes man. He did not want a guy
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: that would push back the Poto is the reason that
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: the problems exists. Until he's out of the changes, the
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: same problems will continue. This team as built and managed
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: into Poto's image and continues to fail, says the four
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: two five seven one four, which is Orange County, my
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: buddy Greg and Huntington Beach. Dan's gotta go. It's hard
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: to blame a manager for his stars not hitting. That
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: is more of an indirect relationship. But I can blame
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: Dan and his staff for horrific bullpen and pitching management,
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: sudden drop off in her defense, and base running blunders.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: Those have a direct line to the manager and proved
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: is not our guy.
- 1:11:04Speaker 3: Four to five.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Jerry is the problem.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Exclamation point. He needs to go. Exclamation point.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: It's so obvious that Jerry is the source of the
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: m's disaster that even the cadet gets he is a problem.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Go Navy beat Army. I only read that at a duty,
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: not as a belief. He spoke cadet with a K,
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: which is that's how he outed himself. I knew he
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: was an uneducated Annapolis man.
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: Well, we have a lot of Navy members here today,
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: which kind of irks me.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: This is like the second or third year in a
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: row the USAA and the Mariners have chosen a naval unit,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: the Navy unit as the unit of the year. Today's
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: gonna be a change of command ceremony from the last
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: Navy unit to a new one.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: I think it's in.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Banger at the submarine base, the nuclear Submarine base over
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: on Widby Island is going to be the new unit
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: of the year for the Mariners that they're gonna and
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: then are gonna be running around. The Navy guy is
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: going to be running around trying to do army things
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: after practice, trying to do army on land. They're doing
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: these obs courses and catch passes.
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: It's you, guys, and.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: It's gonna be a joke. It's gonna be absolutely despicable.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: We'll be watching Navy guys trying to be in the
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: army after practice today at the Seahawks.
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: There's just so many texts coming.
- 1:12:22Speaker 11: I know.
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: Nine oh seven says players respond the leadership and the
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: fact that everyone is underperforming is telling as hell.
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: I don't know if you got to this one. The two, five, three,
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: You guys are crazy. These are grown men. The coach
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: can't make them hit. These guys hit and did great
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: under Wilson, and now they aren't. Whose fault is that
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: it's the players, It's their fault, not Dan Wilson's.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: I tend to agree that at the major league level,
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: the Saint High School, you don't need a motivator. Now
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: we get the coast Guard coming in there, we go,
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: all right, let's go paranas, all right, now we're going.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: Now we're going.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: Yeah, and there's there's some seafaring folks that Craig is okay,
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: especially with your daughter Sarah and the coastguard.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Sence Sarah bell Us coast Guard. Yes, we approve of this.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: Appreciate you being here, Coast Guard. Better than that navy
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: stuff to just walk by, Thank you.
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: Oh, Craig's days was made.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: I got the coast Guard here, I'm good now I'm good,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: going on way, better than that navy stuff to just
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: walk byas appreciate y'all. Go Army beat Navy. Appreciate that too.
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: Okay, Craig's got that out of his system.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: Two six two oh six is hey, Greg, did you
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: see Julio trading his bat for a card during a game?
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Shake my head. Actually I did like that.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: There was a young woman in the stands and beyond
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: right beyond centerfield and the Julio no fly zone, and
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: he gave her and she passed out in lee.
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: With her mother there. I don't see any wrong with that.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: I would have too. I don't see any wrong. I
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: thought it was.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: It was great, and Julia is always like that. You
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: don't always see it on the cameras, but I've seen
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: it a lot.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: That's just decency.
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: I like that.
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: Yeah, that has nothing to do.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Maybe that's because I'm a parent.
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: Nah, I mean, I'm not a parent. I enjoyed it,
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: and I enjoy it when I see it. Oh, Paul
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: Deagle just landed to fight very.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: One to know? How is Dan the problem? This team
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: got within seven outs of the World Series. Who was
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: the manager? It's the players?
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: Genius?
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Coon four to five common denominator here is de Poto.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: I will not be buying a ticket to that field,
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: but do support by watching on TV to eight.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: They're done.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Short of a miraculous road trip, attendants will go down
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: on the next homestand I'm not sure about that. I'm
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: not sure a tennant is going to go down appreciably
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: until school gets back here.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: I agree.
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: I think a lot of people, you know, mark these
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: things on there calendars.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: They get the Cubs coming in here next homestan.
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: If I'm not saying, yeah.
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: That'll pack the place. Yeah, because half of the Midwest
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: lives on the West coast. Now, yeah, that's I'm just saying.
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: Like people earmark these games and spend their money well
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: in advance. They don't just you know, jaunt on down
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: to the park. These are planned experiences and so you know,
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: just like the fiftieth year thing and the home run
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: derby and everyone was mad about that.
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: I know you had your whole Jimothy breakdown last.
- 1:15:28Speaker 4: Week, but you know, it's it's a planned activity which
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: some people you know, get to do only once a year,
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: and especially because it is costly, and so they're not
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: going to cancel that just because the team's under five hundred.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: Okay, I want to say this again. There is no
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: sports fan in North America more justified and being ticked off, frustrated,
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: fed up than a Mariner fan period end of story,
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: fifty years, no championship series appearance.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: I get it, got it.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: You absolutely deserve all the frustrations and taking out and
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: inventing you can muster. I got it, and I agree
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: with you. I've only been here since ninety four. For
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: those of you that have been there since seventy seven
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: in the Kingdom in the first year, I salute you,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: and I empathize and I wish it was better for you.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Up next, Infness is up, tell us what's on his show?
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: From twelve until three. We're a live from Seahawks training
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: camp on a chillier morning here on ninety three point
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: three KJRFM. Hi, Welcome back from Seahawks training camp, Greg Bell,
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Jess and McIntyre. Travis Muger's back at the studio in
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Elliott Bay and the Infness is joining me. His son
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Keifer is out here today too, one of our state's
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: newest EMTs YEP. Congratulations to him and our family. We
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: need him many more of those. What do you got today?
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: Should we even ask? Are you mollywopping. Today we are
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: molly wopping. Got what a weekend? Man, what a weekend?
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: How's out there Friday? I was trying to explained earlier
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: how disappointing and the juxposition of the booze in the park.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: After two on, nobody out and they get absolutely zero,
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: and then the hot dogs from Heaven come raining down
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: and the place goes nuts.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Forty thousand people just going crazy. It was just drawing.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: I'm just come on, this is encapsulating the problem with this,
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: with this forty thousand people in the park. Why do
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: you even talking about the home run derby? By the way,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Bucky was smoked after the first round, he was smoked.
- 1:17:29Speaker 9: I've got such mixed feelings on the home run Derby.
- 1:17:31Speaker 9: I mean, I'll be the first to admit, like, I'm like,
- 1:17:34Speaker 9: I just don't care about middle aged dudes trying to
- 1:17:38Speaker 9: hit home runs after you lose a game.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: It was so much better than the game.
- 1:17:42Speaker 9: And then and then I found myself watching it exactly
- 1:17:44Speaker 9: so like I'm a massive hypocrite.
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: It was a far and a half of my Sun
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: and I day till eleven o'clock.
- 1:17:49Speaker 3: They screwed up.
- 1:17:50Speaker 9: The parcasting was all messed up though, Like I streamed
- 1:17:52Speaker 9: off my phone via Twitter, like it wasn't on the
- 1:17:54Speaker 9: Mariner's channel, it wasn't on Apple.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: It's weird. I don't know it.
- 1:17:58Speaker 9: Just so they were taking the stadium feed the the
- 1:18:04Speaker 9: basically the big screen feed is what they're taking, so
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: it's kind of a cluster.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: But yeah, I was like, I'm not watching this crap.
- 1:18:11Speaker 9: I'm done. I'm so mad right now, I'm not watching
- 1:18:13Speaker 9: this stuff. And then I end up watching this now
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: I did.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: I'll say this.
- 1:18:15Speaker 9: I turned it off after Eatro when eachro did make
- 1:18:17Speaker 9: I couldn't care less about Nola and Romero in the finals.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: But the park had most of the forty thousands. Yeah,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: but then when Eiro hit gone, God, yeah, as soon
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: as he didn't, you know what, okay I was, I
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: was gonna say it was to me it was reminiscent
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: of the home run derby in All Star Weekend.
- 1:18:35Speaker 9: Julio goes nuts in the first round, then gets to
- 1:18:39Speaker 9: the semis or quarters or whatever the next round gets
- 1:18:42Speaker 9: eliminated and everyone left, and I was that way I left.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: That's kind of what it felt like.
- 1:18:48Speaker 9: No one knows who Austin, Nola and Stephan Romero was like,
- 1:18:52Speaker 9: no one when I think of Marri like, you know
- 1:18:54Speaker 9: Bucky is you know, Bucky's time in the majors was
- 1:18:57Speaker 9: less than those guys, obviously, but he knows Bucky. Yeah,
- 1:19:00Speaker 9: not just because of the radio, but Bucky was a
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: he was a cult hero. Here yes and hit mammoth
- 1:19:06Speaker 9: home run. Yes, and he can and he showed. I
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: think he hit the longest one. Didn't here the second
- 1:19:10Speaker 9: longest one. It's like he's like he could still run
- 1:19:12Speaker 9: into one.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: He's just fifty.
- 1:19:17Speaker 9: So but it was like, God, that was just maybe
- 1:19:20Speaker 9: the that was I mean, listen, I hate using this term,
- 1:19:24Speaker 9: but it was the most Mariner weekend of Mariner weekends.
- 1:19:27Speaker 9: Great celebration, incredible job, incredible job by by all involved
- 1:19:32Speaker 9: in the fiftieth anniversary stuff.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: And Saturday night and then you get swept.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: I said, it's like the best car dealership ever that
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: you love the staff. They give you hot dogs, they
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: give you hot chocolate, they give you gourmet coffee when
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: you come in, they make you feel at home.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: You love it. And the cars suck.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: The whole reason that you're there is to buy a car. Yeah,
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: and the cars suck.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: Yep. Yep, that's kind of what.
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: It's pretty good.
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: Oh God, And you know, and I just you know,
- 1:20:01Speaker 9: I know everybody wants dudes fired. Everybody wants this. I Greg,
- 1:20:06Speaker 9: I think it's too late for that. And I don't
- 1:20:08Speaker 9: think it would change a thing. I don't think that
- 1:20:09Speaker 9: spark is going to suddenly happen if you bring anybody up. No,
- 1:20:13Speaker 9: you can't change the person. Listen, you and I know
- 1:20:16Speaker 9: this well from covering a football team here that did
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: fire a coach a few years ago. Yeah, Pete had
- 1:20:22Speaker 9: run his course in twenty twenty three. That was readily
- 1:20:24Speaker 9: apparent in the locker room after the game down in Arizona.
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: But but game, But it was also that locker room
- 1:20:33Speaker 9: needed an overhaul. They needed a massive overhaul, and not
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: just the coach, but a lot you needed to get
- 1:20:41Speaker 9: rid of. Here's a thing I believe this.
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: I don't know what I think.
- 1:20:46Speaker 9: Sometimes you just need to get rid of certain people
- 1:20:48Speaker 9: and players, and because they can be toxic. And I
- 1:20:52Speaker 9: blame a live.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Especially more in baseball with half the roster size.
- 1:20:55Speaker 9: Yeah, but I think Jamal like was a massive problem,
- 1:20:58Speaker 9: not just because he was a bad football, but he
- 1:21:00Speaker 9: was a problem.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he'd be at the end when he starts ripping
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: on journalists, wives and things.
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it was just a problem.
- 1:21:07Speaker 9: I don't know who that guy is in the Mariners clubhouse.
- 1:21:09Speaker 9: I mean, I know sometimes people put points to Randy.
- 1:21:11Speaker 9: I don't know Randy. At least he's producing. Yeah, nobody
- 1:21:14Speaker 9: else is, and he'll be I mention I mentioned this
- 1:21:17Speaker 9: to both Tim Booth a minute ago in the press
- 1:21:19Speaker 9: room here at Seahawks. I said, like, everyone wants to
- 1:21:24Speaker 9: send Colt Emerson down, and he's really struggling.
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: He can't do this.
- 1:21:26Speaker 9: He's hitting forty five points higher than cal.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: Really, so who's batting eighth now? Right? They can't do
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: much more than we can.
- 1:21:38Speaker 9: We can yell and scream all we wanted Dan Wilson,
- 1:21:41Speaker 9: and probably rightfully so for some things. And maybe it
- 1:21:44Speaker 9: is the culture of the clubhouse, but damn you're your
- 1:21:49Speaker 9: runner up. M VP is having a historically bad season,
- 1:21:52Speaker 9: right like Dave Valley's had better seasons than him. Now
- 1:21:55Speaker 9: Dave Valley's top fifty player. We all know that.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Okay, what do you got today, Molly Wapping? Which will
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: be an entertaining We'll do that at one o'clock today.
- 1:22:05Speaker 9: We'll may open at one and then high noon ish
- 1:22:08Speaker 9: twelve ten whenever they bring him out here, Drake Thomas
- 1:22:11Speaker 9: is gonna join us. So we'll talk to the Drake
- 1:22:14Speaker 9: coming up here at a little afternoon, catch up with him. Mollywop,
- 1:22:19Speaker 9: Corbinal stop by. I'll have you escort the big kid
- 1:22:22Speaker 9: out there on the field. Maybe you guys can go
- 1:22:23Speaker 9: watch some offensive line for me.
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: Maybe he can teach me something. Yeah, we'll do that.
- 1:22:28Speaker 9: So yeah, so fun show today, I mean lots to discuss. Obviously,
- 1:22:31Speaker 9: I may get into the clown show that is the
- 1:22:33Speaker 9: WNBA again.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 1:22:36Speaker 9: The Hall of Fame game, a little known on the
- 1:22:38Speaker 9: Hall of Fame game last week in the NFL crazy,
- 1:22:40Speaker 9: So we'll get to all that.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Yeah, let's do it. What's going on, Let's go.
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: Seahawks first pre season game is Saturday, five pm at
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Loomingfield against the Dallas Cowboys. Then next week they head
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: to Nashville for a joint practice on Friday and game
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: on Sunday against Tennessee Titans. The ends up next twelve
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: to three, Greg Jasmine Travis, thanks for listening. We'll do
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: it again tomorrow from Seahawks Training Camp Live ninety three
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: point three kJ RFM,
