Five abandoned puppies—Piglet, Fawn, Calf, Duckling, and Bunny—along with their mom Shrimp, were rescued from a Walmart parking lot in McPherson and went on to find loving forever homes. With round-the-clock care needed for the newborns, the McPherson Police and Animal Shelter rallied the community, while dog food company Canidae Heartland stepped in to sponsor all adoptions and gift each family a year’s supply of food.
