- 0:00Speaker 1: If it is hot, I will eat it.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hi, this.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Is Tom Kane, the voice of Yoda.
- 0:19Speaker 3: And listening to Movie Meltdown, you are guests.
- 0:30Speaker 4: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:33Speaker 4: Picture Association of America. It is intended for mature audiences
- 0:37Speaker 4: and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It's showtime folks.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Enjoy the show. our nuclear reactor, pumping out one million
- 0:59Speaker 5: kilowatts of power.
- 1:29Speaker 1: What the fuck are you bitches babbling about?
- 1:41Speaker 6: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian and
- 1:44Speaker 6: this week we'll be revisiting our most recent trip to Wonderfest.
- 1:48Speaker 6: But this won't be just any old recordings from the event,
- 1:51Speaker 6: this will be a special crossover episode with the guys
- 1:54Speaker 6: from Tower of Technobabble. Now in previous episodes from this event,
- 1:57Speaker 6: you may have heard me describe them as our noisy neighbors.
- 2:01Speaker 6: Which is true, they were situated right next to our table,
- 2:03Speaker 6: and if you listen to the last couple of episodes,
- 2:05Speaker 6: you can kind of hear them making noise in the background.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Specifically the Godzilla episode.
- 2:10Speaker 6: All that yammering on in the background, that's the guys
- 2:13Speaker 6: from Tower of Technobabble. I know it's them, because they
- 2:15Speaker 6: were the only other ones in the room.
- 2:17Speaker 2: They were out of control.
- 2:18Speaker 6: The reason they were so out of control is their
- 2:20Speaker 6: table next to us wasn't just another table at any
- 2:23Speaker 6: other show. They had brought in all this other equipment, including,
- 2:27Speaker 6: you know, furniture and a big running clock.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Because what they had decided to do with.
- 2:32Speaker 6: Their weekend at Wonderfest was they were going to try
- 2:34Speaker 6: to break a world record. But if you go to
- 2:37Speaker 6: the old Guinness Book of World Records, what I don't
- 2:40Speaker 6: think you'll find is anything in there on podcasts. Because they,
- 2:43Speaker 6: like pretty much the rest of the world, don't know
- 2:46Speaker 6: what the hell a podcast is. Except, of course, for
- 2:48Speaker 6: you cool people. You're the only ones that understand. But
- 2:53Speaker 6: aside from that, no, no podcast in the Guinness Book.
- 2:56Speaker 6: But there was a listing for the longest uninterrupted webcast.
- 3:00Speaker 2: So that's similar, right?
- 3:02Speaker 6: Again, most of this country has no idea.
- 3:04Speaker 1: But in actuality, it.
- 3:06Speaker 6: Was close enough that they could stream a webcast and
- 3:09Speaker 6: record a podcast at the same time and attempt to
- 3:12Speaker 6: break the world record. Now, they were working on this
- 3:15Speaker 6: idea for a while before I heard about it.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And when I did, I laughed.
- 3:19Speaker 6: I said, good luck, and I told them I would
- 3:21Speaker 6: help them as best I can. But I had other plans.
- 3:25Speaker 6: I wanted to wander around and put together several specific episodes,
- 3:29Speaker 6: and I'm glad I did. As you've hopefully heard already,
- 3:32Speaker 6: we've recorded some great episodes with people like Joe Alves
- 3:35Speaker 6: and Eric Chu and Carol Bauman and Dr. Gangrene and
- 3:39Speaker 6: all from that event. So, I'm glad I stuck with
- 3:41Speaker 6: my plan, but, you know, the Tower Technobabble guys, we'd
- 3:44Speaker 6: also plan on recording something together while we were there
- 3:47Speaker 6: that weekend. But instead of bouncing back and forth and
- 3:50Speaker 6: doing different crossover episodes, I decided it would be more
- 3:53Speaker 6: interesting to drag my recording equipment over into the middle
- 3:56Speaker 6: of their recording setup and record both shows simultaneously. That
- 4:01Speaker 6: might also be a new world record.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Eh, probably not.
- 4:04Speaker 6: There's a lot of podcasts out there. But what this
- 4:07Speaker 6: is is a really fun episode hanging out with the guys.
- 4:10Speaker 6: And interesting to listen to, because keep in mind, as
- 4:14Speaker 6: we get into this, our episode here is basically midway.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Into their world record attempt. And when we start recording,
- 4:22Speaker 2: they are right about.
- 4:23Speaker 1: At the 20 hour point.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Yes, by now, when you start listening, they have been
- 4:28Speaker 6: awake and talking nonstop for 20 hours. And they were
- 4:33Speaker 6: shooting for 40 hours, so they still have a long
- 4:36Speaker 6: way to go even after we wrap up this segment.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Now you might be wondering, did they make it? Did
- 4:41Speaker 2: they break the world record?
- 4:43Speaker 6: Well, I'd say head on over to TowerTechnobabble.com and find
- 4:46Speaker 6: out for yourself. But in the meantime, let's listen to
- 4:48Speaker 6: our shenanigans from Hour 20. So now let's go live
- 4:52Speaker 6: via digital recording to the floor of Wonderfest. And as
- 4:55Speaker 6: we do, we're going to be doing what kind of podcasting?
- 4:58Speaker 6: Simultaneous podcasting.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Whoa, won't that cause a weird flux capacitor? I know,
- 5:03Speaker 2: it's going to be awesome.
- 5:05Speaker 7: It's great, man.
- 5:07Speaker 8: If we start a fire, it's your fault.
- 5:08Speaker 7: Have we got enough cable?
- 5:10Speaker 1: We're tangled together.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We are podcasting.
- 5:15Speaker 7: You know, sort of the granddaddy of the little podcasters.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I'll take it. I don't know if it's accurate, but
- 5:24Speaker 2: I'll say it. Slowly come about here. We'll double up
- 5:28Speaker 2: on Mike. We're all set. All right.
- 5:29Speaker 7: I can do that.
- 5:30Speaker 8: I like it.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I like it.
- 5:34Speaker 7: No, actually, this is how we've been doing our remotes.
- 5:37Speaker 7: Because we've been Skyping in on the cell phone.
- 5:41Speaker 8: And TowerBot Skype.
- 5:42Speaker 7: And then we have to talk in these mics and
- 5:45Speaker 7: in that one at the exact same time, man.
- 5:47Speaker 8: Have to synchronize.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Not those bastards that use Skype. I can't trust those guys.
- 5:53Speaker 9: Whoa.
- 5:54Speaker 7: Brian, it's nice to see you. Welcome to Hour 20.
- 5:58Speaker 7: The Brian Renfro Hour.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The movie Meltdown Hour.
- 6:01Speaker 7: So, uh.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Thanks for coming on Movie Meltdown.
- 6:06Speaker 8: Hey, no problem.
- 6:08Speaker 2: We'll tell you what.
- 6:09Speaker 7: On Movie Meltdown, we want to introduce a new tradition.
- 6:12Speaker 7: We've been doing a memory... Sorry.
- 6:15Speaker 2: You're right. You don't know how to work microphones. I'm
- 6:18Speaker 2: trying to grab something. Stay away from me.
- 6:20Speaker 8: Damn it. Something, anything. I don't care.
- 6:23Speaker 7: We're trying to trigger memories. And the way we've been
- 6:26Speaker 7: doing it is we've been pulling vintage Star Wars figures
- 6:29Speaker 7: out of the sack. And just seeing what kind of memories.
- 6:32Speaker 2: This is loaded. I don't know if I trust this. No, no, no.
- 6:35Speaker 8: This is live radio, man, without a net.
- 6:37Speaker 7: Here was our previous figure. What kind of memories?
- 6:39Speaker 6: One of my favorites of all time.
- 6:42Speaker 8: It's a snow trooper, by the way.
- 6:43Speaker 7: The snow trooper.
- 6:43Speaker 6: As much as everybody loves normal storm troopers, I like
- 6:46Speaker 6: snow troopers even more.
- 6:49Speaker 2: That costume is so badass. I can't even begin to
- 6:54Speaker 2: put into words. It's the coolest outfit ever.
- 6:58Speaker 7: I was telling them when I was a kid. in
- 7:00Speaker 7: grade school before anybody had seen the movie a kid
- 7:04Speaker 7: came in and during recess he had this figure and
- 7:09Speaker 7: everyone was like what is that and he was like
- 7:12Speaker 7: these are the new stormtroopers in the new star wars
- 7:14Speaker 7: movie man They're not going to have the old Stormtroopers.
- 7:18Speaker 7: These are the brand new ones. And because he said that,
- 7:20Speaker 7: I instantly hated it. Because I had such an affection
- 7:24Speaker 7: for the old classic Stormtroopers.
- 7:25Speaker 6: No, you went home and you threw out all your
- 7:27Speaker 6: old ones.
- 7:27Speaker 2: You were like, I'm moving on with the time.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Oh, man, I was like, I hate this. And then
- 7:32Speaker 7: when I finally saw Empire, you don't see a Stormtrooper
- 7:35Speaker 7: until Cloud City, well past halfway.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Through the movie.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So I was like, oh man, that jerk was true.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I don't like this new changes.
- 7:44Speaker 7: And why isn't Luke wearing his karate smock?
- 7:48Speaker 10: Everything's changed, man.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Bespin fatigues, damn it.
- 7:50Speaker 10: Get with the times.
- 7:51Speaker 7: Okay, why did they call them Bespin fatigues if he
- 7:54Speaker 7: was wearing them before he got to Bespin?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Because they were trying to sell that action figure.
- 7:58Speaker 7: Why weren't they called Dagobah fatigues?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Nobody knew what a Dagobah was. Everybody knows Bespin.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Vacation commercials, you see, come to Bespin. Relax up in
- 8:08Speaker 6: the clouds. Everybody knows Bespin.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 8:11Speaker 7: All right, so you basically get the gist here. So
- 8:13Speaker 7: we're going to pull out the next figure.
- 8:15Speaker 2: All right. I don't have to reach in a sack.
- 8:18Speaker 10: Yes, you do.
- 8:21Speaker 11: Ben is pulling out. I'll give the play-by-play. Ben is
- 8:23Speaker 11: pulling out the sack. He's addressing the sack.
- 8:26Speaker 10: Hello, sack.
- 8:26Speaker 7: All right, here's the magic sack.
- 8:28Speaker 8: That's a magic sack.
- 8:29Speaker 7: It's actually a pillowcase.
- 8:31Speaker 8: It's a magic sack. Get in our van full of
- 8:33Speaker 8: candy and let's go.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Hey, you're playing my game.
- 8:35Speaker 7: We should have technically 20 figures left. So we're pulling it.
- 8:39Speaker 4: All right.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Am I supposed to just go with the first one? Yeah,
- 8:41Speaker 2: just go with the first one.
- 8:42Speaker 8: Don't feel around for special.
- 8:43Speaker 2: The joints are loose already, I can tell you. Somebody's
- 8:45Speaker 2: played with this one.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Oh!
- 8:48Speaker 1: Of course, 3PO. No, wait.
- 8:51Speaker 10: You're wrong.
- 8:52Speaker 2: His head's backwards. Oh, you lost a nerd point.
- 8:55Speaker 10: For that one, man. Come on.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 8:59Speaker 6: Without the head and the fact that this one's worn out,
- 9:02Speaker 6: I'm deducting points for you have not kept this in
- 9:04Speaker 6: the package. You did not put it behind glass like
- 9:07Speaker 6: a true geek is supposed to.
- 9:09Speaker 11: By the way, it's the silver droid from the Jawa Sandcrawler.
- 9:13Speaker 7: Okay, that's another good example.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Why they call it the Death Star Droid.
- 9:16Speaker 10: I agree.
- 9:17Speaker 2: It doesn't make sense, but it is the Death Star Droid.
- 9:18Speaker 8: They did call it the Death Star Droid.
- 9:20Speaker 11: We just saw Star Wars last night, so we have
- 9:22Speaker 11: a very clear memory.
- 9:22Speaker 8: He's in three scenes in the crawler.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Let's see something about these plastics. Yeah. It just wears
- 9:28Speaker 2: totally different than all the rest of them. Yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Three feel the same problem. The metallic one, right?
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the fact that they just kind of fall over.
- 9:35Speaker 6: It was always impossible to get 3PO to stand up
- 9:37Speaker 6: like the other ones because.
- 9:38Speaker 2: There's just no grip to it. It just gets loose.
- 9:40Speaker 11: It was either completely vertical or completely horizontal.
- 9:43Speaker 2: There was no catch. He can dance.
- 9:45Speaker 10: Look at him.
- 9:46Speaker 7: He's got his space moves.
- 9:48Speaker 10: He can walk like crazy, man.
- 9:50Speaker 8: Ironically, the robot had the most moves of all.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Couldn't do the robot. Ironically.
- 9:55Speaker 8: Strangely enough.
- 9:55Speaker 7: Since you're here, we need something to talk about. Let's
- 9:58Speaker 7: show you the previous 2020. came out. Because you talk
- 10:02Speaker 7: about action. Nothing says action like this guy, right?
- 10:09Speaker 8: Power droid.
- 10:10Speaker 2: So he's basically just a D battery in space, right?
- 10:13Speaker 10: With legs.
- 10:14Speaker 2: With legs.
- 10:15Speaker 8: It comes to you.
- 10:16Speaker 7: And he has an outlet for a face, you know?
- 10:20Speaker 2: That's inappropriate.
- 10:21Speaker 7: Count the points of articulation.
- 10:23Speaker 3: One.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Two points of articulation. Put that in a big bubble
- 10:31Speaker 2: on the front of the package.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Two ratcheting points.
- 10:33Speaker 7: That is a selling point.
- 10:35Speaker 6: I mean, flash forward to McFarlane toys, 27 points of articulation.
- 10:40Speaker 7: But he did make this clicky sound. So, you know.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I guess it's cool if it were on a different road.
- 10:45Speaker 7: What I'm wondering, did young Brian, did he ever have
- 10:50Speaker 7: the backstory adventures of the power droid.
- 10:53Speaker 2: No, young Brian didn't bother getting that one because it
- 10:55Speaker 2: was lame.
- 10:56Speaker 7: Well, I think young Ben got it in his stalking
- 11:00Speaker 7: from Santa, so screw you.
- 11:02Speaker 10: Okay, man?
- 11:02Speaker 2: I think we need to take this up with Santa.
- 11:04Speaker 7: All right.
- 11:05Speaker 11: No, he employs slave labor and discriminatory policies.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Okay, here's a good one. Check out the points, the
- 11:11Speaker 7: number of articulation points on this one.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Now, this one I did like. He had a lot
- 11:15Speaker 6: of adventures. Again, because he was sort of a Hoff-based droid.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Do you remember his name?
- 11:21Speaker 2: FX7?
- 11:22Speaker 8: FX7, yeah. We knew it was FX something.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:26Speaker 7: Calculus, but I know the name of the damn Star
- 11:28Speaker 7: Wars movie.
- 11:28Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. You've got to have a geek
- 11:30Speaker 2: point somewhere. Did you mess with these arms much?
- 11:35Speaker 7: No, because I didn't want to break them.
- 11:36Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I kind of left mine alone.
- 11:38Speaker 7: I was very worried about that one there.
- 11:40Speaker 2: That one seems pretty sturdy. That one always had that bend, though.
- 11:43Speaker 2: These always look like they were just like, as soon
- 11:44Speaker 2: as I put it up, the little.
- 11:46Speaker 6: describing the little ones on the side here, that were
- 11:48Speaker 6: pinned down when you got them.
- 11:50Speaker 2: But technically, you could pop them out and hub them
- 11:52Speaker 2: up and move them around a little bit. Not much.
- 11:54Speaker 8: A little bit.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Just raise them up.
- 11:55Speaker 8: They didn't go out 90 degrees. They went about 30 maybe.
- 11:57Speaker 6: But I only assumed, you know, once again, Little Brian
- 12:00Speaker 6: only assumed that my toy wouldn't be messed up.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And God forbid that happened. So I assumed as soon
- 12:05Speaker 2: as I pulled that out, it was never going to
- 12:06Speaker 2: go back down. It was never going to stay in
- 12:08Speaker 2: place again.
- 12:08Speaker 6: And I'd have this half-popped-out droid arm nonsense going on.
- 12:13Speaker 2: I wouldn't have it. So he sat very nicely and
- 12:16Speaker 2: then went on his adventures, and he did everything with
- 12:18Speaker 2: this arm. He was a little handicapped, but he was handicapable.
- 12:22Speaker 1: That's right.
- 12:22Speaker 2: And he made use of his arm.
- 12:24Speaker 7: You know what that meant? By not using the other arms,
- 12:26Speaker 7: you had a figure with one point of articulation.
- 12:30Speaker 2: His bobbing head?
- 12:31Speaker 7: Well, so he could see over the hedge.
- 12:36Speaker 8: Excuse me, am I needing medical attention over there?
- 12:38Speaker 7: I really, really am interested in your thoughts on this guy.
- 12:43Speaker 8: Pondo Baba. No, that is not his name.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It is Walrus Man. It is how I referred to
- 12:47Speaker 2: him then and still.
- 12:48Speaker 7: On the card, it says Walrus Man. That is his
- 12:51Speaker 7: official name. That is on his space driver's license. Mr.
- 12:56Speaker 10: And Mrs.
- 12:56Speaker 8: Baba named him Pondo.
- 12:58Speaker 7: That is some extended universe crap.
- 13:01Speaker 10: No, no, no.
- 13:02Speaker 2: No, I think that was.
- 13:03Speaker 6: See, to me, the changeover on this was when Hasbro
- 13:06Speaker 6: took over it. The Kenner toy was always Walrus Man.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Then when they started making that new run in the
- 13:13Speaker 6: 90s or whatever it was, when they started gearing up
- 13:15Speaker 6: for the prequels, they were just like, oh.
- 13:17Speaker 7: Man, we can't just call him Walrus Man.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Everybody else has like a real name.
- 13:21Speaker 7: These kids ain't in the 70s.
- 13:22Speaker 2: We can't just call him Hammerhead.
- 13:24Speaker 6: That's just making fun of his physical deformities. We gotta
- 13:27Speaker 6: come up with something.
- 13:28Speaker 7: And calling him Walrus Man was making fun of his
- 13:30Speaker 7: great big teeth.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Or possibly his heritage. That's racism, damn it, man.
- 13:34Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 13:35Speaker 11: Nobody's saying walrus is a pejorative.
- 13:37Speaker 7: You know, it's like.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Walrus would be awesome. It's the imperial man keeping down
- 13:41Speaker 2: the walrus.
- 13:42Speaker 8: You say it that way, yeah.
- 13:44Speaker 10: You're saying that mocking.
- 13:46Speaker 11: Tone, sure.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Everything I say isn't a mocking tone.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Well.
- 13:48Speaker 8: But I.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 13:51Speaker 10: It's good for you.
- 13:53Speaker 2: To me, I appreciate it. He didn't really have much
- 13:57Speaker 2: to do. Of course I had him because he was
- 13:59Speaker 2: brightly colored and he looked like a mutant freak.
- 14:00Speaker 7: But, you know, that kind of bothered me because his
- 14:03Speaker 7: color palette didn't match the other characters. It was very,
- 14:06Speaker 7: I don't know, he was such an odd guy.
- 14:09Speaker 2: He also kind of has flippers.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:12Speaker 7: Like, Greedo doesn't have flippers. Greedo wears moon boots, but
- 14:14Speaker 7: he's got flippers on.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I don't really get that. Greedo's cool. I mean, Greedo
- 14:18Speaker 2: is stylish.
- 14:19Speaker 7: Well, why don't we just... Let's bust out some Greedo
- 14:22Speaker 7: right now. Let's bust out some Greedo. Okay, what do
- 14:23Speaker 7: you think? It looks nothing like he does in Star Wars.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Greedo is hot. That's what I think of now when
- 14:29Speaker 2: I think of him.
- 14:30Speaker 7: Hot? Why do you think he's hot?
- 14:32Speaker 6: Because I've talked to Maria, who is inside the Greedo suit,
- 14:35Speaker 6: and then I watched her other movies, and I've seen
- 14:37Speaker 6: Greedo naked.
- 14:38Speaker 10: Really?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Greedo gets naked. Inside.
- 14:42Speaker 7: Does she still have the big, long, floppy fingers?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Not at that point. When she was in the pool,
- 14:46Speaker 2: she took all that off.
- 14:48Speaker 1: All that off.
- 14:48Speaker 7: What movie did the Greedo actors take off her clothes?
- 14:52Speaker 2: I don't think I'm mad.
- 14:53Speaker 6: Actually, I talked to her about it, and She didn't
- 14:55Speaker 6: have any problem with that. She's actually one that's even
- 14:57Speaker 6: more racy than that one. But the one that I
- 14:59Speaker 6: enjoyed was Blood Mania.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Terror that rips the screams right out of your throat.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Suspense that traps you in a web of shadows and fear.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I expect $ 50, 000 in two weeks.
- 15:16Speaker 4: A treacherous journey inside a nightmare of passion and death.
- 15:20Speaker 4: A love affair with horror. Blood Mania. A terrifying film
- 15:25Speaker 4: experience that explores the twisted souls of insanity. When there
- 15:30Speaker 4: is no reality, there is no such word as evil.
- 15:37Speaker 5: You've been after Craig Cooper for years and he won't
- 15:39Speaker 5: give you a tumble.
- 15:41Speaker 4: What makes you so hard to get? A bargain of
- 15:44Speaker 4: the flesh made by an ambitious doctor who sought to
- 15:46Speaker 4: escape his own past.
- 15:48Speaker 8: I need 50,000.
- 15:48Speaker 4: I know how to get it. I give, devise, and
- 15:56Speaker 4: bequeath the remainder of my estate to my daughter, Gail Waterman.
- 16:01Speaker 10: Come back!
- 16:04Speaker 12: I hate you!
- 16:05Speaker 4: Two sisters, blood sisters. One the victim of a love
- 16:09Speaker 4: that was a lie. The other tormented by demons of
- 16:12Speaker 4: jealousy and hate.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Blood mania.
- 16:15Speaker 10: I don't want the money. I have you.
- 16:17Speaker 4: A suspense shocker in the psycho tradition. An electrifying tale
- 16:21Speaker 4: of intrigue, madness, and death. come prepared for the shocking
- 16:33Speaker 4: climax the last 15 minutes will jolt you right out
- 16:36Speaker 4: of your seat.
- 16:39Speaker 6: Blood mania is a nice uh like i think if
- 16:43Speaker 6: it's early yeah i think it's like mid early 70s
- 16:46Speaker 6: and uh it's it's a horror movie and it it
- 16:49Speaker 6: does what most 70s horror movies do which is midway
- 16:52Speaker 6: in just takes this weird turn that makes no sense
- 16:54Speaker 6: whatsoever But it's very atmospheric and cheesy.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And did I mention cheesy? It's a very cheesy horror.
- 17:01Speaker 7: Is she still kind of doing stuff?
- 17:03Speaker 2: I don't think she's acting so much. I think she
- 17:08Speaker 2: lives in Canada now. She was sort of cross cultures.
- 17:13Speaker 2: She's dual citizenship, I believe. She was living up there
- 17:17Speaker 2: last night.
- 17:17Speaker 7: The thing I think that bothered me about the Greedo figure, though... was, again,
- 17:22Speaker 7: it didn't look like his outfit in the movie. It
- 17:24Speaker 7: looks like he's wearing a leotard, you know, covering up
- 17:27Speaker 7: his whole finger.
- 17:28Speaker 6: It's only in years since then I've started trying to
- 17:30Speaker 6: piece this stuff together.
- 17:32Speaker 7: How did this figure happen?
- 17:33Speaker 6: Do you think they did a concept art first, made
- 17:36Speaker 6: the toys from the concept art, while some dude in
- 17:39Speaker 6: England was like, here, put this on.
- 17:41Speaker 2: And they didn't really match up. But at that point,
- 17:43Speaker 2: it was like, eh, close enough.
- 17:45Speaker 7: I think they were half-assing it, and they were just
- 17:47Speaker 7: giving photos of the heads. And it was up to
- 17:49Speaker 7: them to figure out what the body looks like, you know?
- 17:52Speaker 2: Somewhere in between all this is probably the truth.
- 17:54Speaker 7: Because you compare, like, again, the colors on Walrus, and
- 17:57Speaker 7: just the name Walrus Man, I think they were just
- 17:59Speaker 7: half-assing it because they had to get it out.
- 18:01Speaker 10: That's what I'm saying.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Luke just had a lot on his shoulders at that point.
- 18:04Speaker 7: But because they were half-assing it, that is the name
- 18:08Speaker 7: that he will have for the rest of my life.
- 18:11Speaker 2: For me, just because, yeah. I still call him Walrus Man.
- 18:14Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 7: Of course, or you could go the Beatles way, The
- 18:17Speaker 7: Wall vs.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Paul.
- 18:18Speaker 7: I think his name is Paul.
- 18:21Speaker 2: All right. All right. Oh, here's... Speaking of Paul's.
- 18:25Speaker 8: Oh, hello, sir.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 18:29Speaker 12: Hi.
- 18:29Speaker 13: Movie Meltdown.
- 18:30Speaker 7: Hey, we've been trying to get Paul on Movie Meltdown
- 18:32Speaker 7: for a long time.
- 18:34Speaker 6: We finally pried his restraining bolt off and.
- 18:37Speaker 10: He has left the house.
- 18:39Speaker 2: It's the craziest thing.
- 18:40Speaker 7: I know.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And unfortunately, this is the sort of activity that's going
- 18:44Speaker 1: to make me regret it. Regret doing it.
- 18:47Speaker 2: See, I was just.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I'm channeling my grumpy old curmudgeon.
- 18:52Speaker 7: Do you two have kind of a love-hate thing going?
- 18:54Speaker 10: No, no.
- 18:55Speaker 7: Hey, be sure to talk into that mic so we
- 18:56Speaker 7: can get you on our podcast.
- 18:58Speaker 2: No, most importantly, this one. This one's important. This is.
- 19:01Speaker 7: I'm happy.
- 19:01Speaker 1: You know, this is way more comfortable, by the way.
- 19:04Speaker 1: to hold the mic rather than.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yeah, the guys on Tower Technobabble, they don't know what
- 19:08Speaker 2: the hell they're doing.
- 19:09Speaker 10: No, they're inexperienced.
- 19:09Speaker 7: It's our first time at Winterfest.
- 19:10Speaker 10: We don't know what we're doing.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Do we want to complain about that show?
- 19:13Speaker 6: Because I have some Okay, so I was talking the
- 19:16Speaker 6: other day to my neighbor, Paul. We were out between
- 19:18Speaker 6: the towers. If you'll notice, when you look out the window,
- 19:22Speaker 6: you see that loomy nuclear tower. That's me. Over there,
- 19:26Speaker 6: you have some carpeted kiddie tower. Whatever it is you
- 19:28Speaker 6: guys have.
- 19:28Speaker 7: That's how I find my way home when I'm out
- 19:31Speaker 7: of town. I look for the light and I drive
- 19:32Speaker 7: toward it.
- 19:33Speaker 2: But yeah, we were discussing, hey, we need to do stuff.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And then Paul was like, I can't. My wife beats
- 19:39Speaker 2: me and keeps me in a closet. I think is
- 19:41Speaker 2: what you said.
- 19:43Speaker 1: No, I said pushing me down the stairs.
- 19:46Speaker 2: That does sound like her.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I won't use her real name.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Did you install a staircase?
- 19:49Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 7: Out on me, man.
- 19:51Speaker 14: There's a lot of push presses and then throwing downstairs.
- 19:54Speaker 2: We'll call her Ginny. Because I'm assuming she wants to
- 19:57Speaker 2: not be associated with either of our shows.
- 19:59Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're right.
- 20:02Speaker 6: So we already couldn't put that one together. But then
- 20:05Speaker 6: I had some other things occur to me recently. And
- 20:08Speaker 6: I was like, all right, I'm going to have to
- 20:10Speaker 6: come here and throw down the gauntlet.
- 20:12Speaker 2: What the hell is going on?
- 20:14Speaker 6: Because many a year ago when we got these shows together,
- 20:16Speaker 6: and I was like, dude, you guys are doing a show?
- 20:19Speaker 2: I'm doing the show. Let's get our shows together.
- 20:21Speaker 6: Let's cross over and be one badass system here.
- 20:26Speaker 7: I've crossed over so many times.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Sort of. But let's do the math here.
- 20:31Speaker 7: I was almost a regular character there for a couple months.
- 20:33Speaker 2: That's the issue I have. How many times have I
- 20:37Speaker 2: been on Power of Techno and Babble? Not including today. One.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I went through and did the math.
- 20:45Speaker 6: There was actual calculating involved to figure out how many
- 20:48Speaker 6: times you guys have been on Movie Meltdown.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Would you like to take a guess?
- 20:53Speaker 4: Eight.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Nineteen episodes. Whoa!
- 20:57Speaker 6: Nineteen times you or Dave or you and Dave have
- 21:01Speaker 6: been on, and I've tried, Paul, but we couldn't.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, as we said. So you guys have been on
- 21:06Speaker 2: 19 episodes. I've been on one.
- 21:09Speaker 8: Screw you guys.
- 21:10Speaker 10: Well, you know what?
- 21:11Speaker 1: I've got to say, after hearing the evidence, he's totally justified.
- 21:14Speaker 10: You're right.
- 21:15Speaker 2: We should totally stop this world record thing.
- 21:16Speaker 10: That's right.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Well, that's my other reason for coming here. I've decided.
- 21:21Speaker 6: I was trying to be Anakin and do the good thing,
- 21:24Speaker 6: but you pushed me to the dark side. So I've
- 21:27Speaker 6: gone full-on villain now.
- 21:28Speaker 1: You're going to go slay some sand people.
- 21:31Speaker 6: No, I'm going to spend the rest of this weekend
- 21:34Speaker 6: trying to completely tear this thing apart.
- 21:37Speaker 2: You'll see me over creeping in the corner, unplugging shit.
- 21:39Speaker 2: All you've got to do is hit that button.
- 21:41Speaker 7: Everything is going through that one power strip right there.
- 21:43Speaker 6: I'm going to be standing in front of a camera
- 21:45Speaker 6: so you won't have recorded evidence.
- 21:48Speaker 2: You name it.
- 21:49Speaker 6: The rest of this weekend, you'll see me lurking about
- 21:52Speaker 6: with the mustache twirling.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Coming up with some sort of sinister plot to take
- 21:56Speaker 2: this down.
- 21:57Speaker 7: Can I give a rebuttal to your.
- 21:59Speaker 2: You have one minute, sir. Okay.
- 22:02Speaker 7: You don't like to use Skype. And you have told
- 22:05Speaker 7: me several times, me and Skype do not... I said
- 22:08Speaker 7: I don't like it. I don't use it for my show.
- 22:11Speaker 7: But I'm not running your show.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I don't know if you noticed that.
- 22:14Speaker 6: That's probably why you're having all these problems. But you
- 22:17Speaker 6: took it upon yourself to do it through Skype.
- 22:20Speaker 2: That's not... So... See.
- 22:23Speaker 7: You get together in one room. We like to stay
- 22:26Speaker 7: in our comfy houses and not get in each other's grill.
- 22:28Speaker 7: That's true. This has been a very hard weekend for us.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it's extremely difficult.
- 22:34Speaker 7: Nerves have been frayed. wills have been tested.
- 22:37Speaker 1: As I've said.
- 22:38Speaker 14: Previously, this may be the activity that cures me of
- 22:41Speaker 14: all future activities.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 22:44Speaker 10: Entirely.
- 22:45Speaker 1: We're not going to have anything.
- 22:46Speaker 7: To talk about ever.
- 22:47Speaker 10: No, we don't need to.
- 22:48Speaker 1: We've just taken care of the entire, almost the entire
- 22:51Speaker 1: year of podcasts. We don't have to do any other ones.
- 22:54Speaker 2: That's why I told you.
- 22:54Speaker 7: If you and I weren't doing a podcast together, Paul,
- 22:57Speaker 7: this probably would have been the conversation, the amount of
- 22:59Speaker 7: time we would have talked for the rest of our lives, actually.
- 23:02Speaker 8: Quite possible.
- 23:03Speaker 10: 40 hours, you know.
- 23:05Speaker 2: But yeah, that's why you came up with this idea
- 23:07Speaker 2: and you told me about it. I was like, yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 2: good luck with that. That's not a good idea at all.
- 23:11Speaker 7: It's like walking your dog all at once. Like, walk
- 23:14Speaker 7: him from one state border to the other and back
- 23:16Speaker 7: and go, there, you're done.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Don't ever ask me again.
- 23:23Speaker 7: Well, Brian, I got the impression that you just did
- 23:26Speaker 7: not like the Skype experience, so.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I don't think it's the best way to record.
- 23:31Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 23:31Speaker 2: But that's just me.
- 23:32Speaker 7: And I just, okay, I blame myself.
- 23:36Speaker 14: Hey, wait, quick question, production question.
- 23:41Speaker 7: Oh, production meeting.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Are you okay with Mark's feed store?
- 23:44Speaker 7: Yes, very much so.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Good.
- 23:46Speaker 10: All right, that's it.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Get something for Brian.
- 23:48Speaker 7: Get something for Brian, too. I'll pay for it. Because
- 23:50Speaker 7: I feel I owe him now, okay?
- 23:52Speaker 2: Oh, more than that. I've been tallying it up.
- 23:54Speaker 7: I've got a running turtle. What do you want your order?
- 23:56Speaker 7: We owe Brian apparently $ 19. Sloppy Joe's from.
- 24:01Speaker 1: You have to eat them all in one sitting, though.
- 24:03Speaker 2: $ 19, 000. There, you are done. You are done.
- 24:06Speaker 1: We don't owe you anything now.
- 24:08Speaker 4: No, no.
- 24:09Speaker 2: It's a grand per episode. $ 19, 000. I would like you
- 24:13Speaker 2: to donate towards our show.
- 24:16Speaker 7: You know, I like to think, sure, I've been on
- 24:21Speaker 7: the show over ten times. I like to think that
- 24:24Speaker 7: I gave you the gift of content.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 10: No, no.
- 24:28Speaker 2: If you'll notice, we had plenty of people there, and
- 24:30Speaker 2: we would have yammered on just as easily. I'm just saying,
- 24:33Speaker 2: I wanted you to be there.
- 24:35Speaker 7: I think the last one I was on.
- 24:36Speaker 10: I wanted you to be there.
- 24:37Speaker 7: Oh, thank you, man.
- 24:38Speaker 2: But I didn't have that in the other one. I
- 24:42Speaker 2: wasn't wanted on yours.
- 24:43Speaker 7: Again, in my defense, I've been trying to organize the campfire.
- 24:47Speaker 7: For such a long time.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know we won't let you touch matches.
- 24:50Speaker 2: But nobody... We had our meeting. We didn't tell you
- 24:53Speaker 2: about it. This is why we do Skype.
- 24:55Speaker 7: Nobody will coordinate their schedules, you know?
- 24:57Speaker 6: Dave and Paul and other Dave all got together and went,
- 25:00Speaker 6: we do not want him near a fire.
- 25:02Speaker 2: There is no way we're going to let this happen.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I think it's true.
- 25:06Speaker 14: He's as competent with fire as he is with celebrities.
- 25:11Speaker 7: I didn't piss off Phil Tippett. That's a first for me.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Well, he's sort of the anti-celebrity, though.
- 25:18Speaker 7: That's true.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Celebrity.
- 25:20Speaker 7: Anti-celebrity celebrity. I pissed off Everclear and Hootie and the
- 25:24Speaker 7: Blowfish and Dom McLean.
- 25:27Speaker 2: I've heard the Hootie story. Actually, I made you write
- 25:29Speaker 2: down the Hootie story.
- 25:30Speaker 7: Now, Mark Book, who's listening right now, he pissed off
- 25:34Speaker 7: Flock of Seagulls.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I didn't do that. I had nothing to do.
- 25:36Speaker 10: With Flock of Seagulls. What did he do?
- 25:39Speaker 2: Well, he did something because they stole his drum cases.
- 25:42Speaker 10: So he did.
- 25:43Speaker 7: Something to provoke that.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Mark's a trouble maker. If you remember, I worked with Mark.
- 25:49Speaker 1: He's a button pusher right there. He likes mixing it up,
- 25:53Speaker 1: that book character.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I know.
- 25:56Speaker 7: I think my favorite thing he did, we were playing
- 25:58Speaker 7: at Headliners and some celebrity band was playing after us.
- 26:04Speaker 7: And Mark asked, hey, can I play on your drum
- 26:06Speaker 7: kit while we open for you? And the guy was like,
- 26:09Speaker 7: I can't remember who it was. He was like, nah,
- 26:11Speaker 7: I think I'm going to be a rock star tonight.
- 26:12Speaker 14: So.
- 26:15Speaker 2: And that band was Rush.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:18Speaker 2: It was quite a drum kit. I mean, he really,
- 26:19Speaker 2: no wonder he wanted to play. Anyone would have gone.
- 26:21Speaker 7: It was like jungle bars and monkey bars and stuff
- 26:24Speaker 7: in there, man.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Oh, hey, Paul.
- 26:27Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 7: You missed the figure of the hour.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Oh, is it?
- 26:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, it's him.
- 26:33Speaker 2: He's loose. We've discussed it. I don't know if that's
- 26:36Speaker 2: an attack on his character.
- 26:37Speaker 1: You know, I had one that was also loose.
- 26:40Speaker 2: That's what I said as I pulled it out.
- 26:42Speaker 7: It was a design flaw.
- 26:43Speaker 2: It's that type of plastic. This fancy, shiny plastic.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and as it wears from where you would, you know.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Why were you rubbing your droid so much?
- 26:53Speaker 1: Well, he was trying to get three more witches out
- 26:55Speaker 1: of him, you know?
- 26:56Speaker 2: The wine doesn't look like that. That's all I'm saying.
- 26:58Speaker 7: Hey, with every rub you do... the eBay value goes down,
- 27:02Speaker 7: so just be careful there.
- 27:03Speaker 2: There's a little clock ticking away on the eBay page.
- 27:06Speaker 7: I'm seeing this dollar amount over, and it's slowly ticking down.
- 27:11Speaker 2: The more you rub it.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Yeah, he's awfully loose.
- 27:17Speaker 2: Again, the tax on his character. But whatever.
- 27:18Speaker 7: He can pop and lock.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Pop and lock.
- 27:23Speaker 7: So, did you.
- 27:24Speaker 2: See, that's what I.
- 27:27Speaker 8: Was making the answer.
- 27:27Speaker 7: I wish this was a visual podcast.
- 27:29Speaker 2: That's, again, your own doing right now.
- 27:31Speaker 7: Paul is making the robot do something that would result
- 27:33Speaker 7: in a boy baby robot.
- 27:35Speaker 1: I gotta get a photo of this guy.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I love it.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Good evening.
- 28:22Speaker 7: It's intermission time.
- 28:23Speaker 5: And during the next ten minutes, we invite you to
- 28:25Speaker 5: visit our refreshment stand, located in the center of the drive-in.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Hungry?
- 28:29Speaker 5: Then treat yourself to a luscious Castleberry barbecue sandwich, prepared
- 28:34Speaker 5: in that traditional southern way. Doesn't that look good? Wait
- 28:37Speaker 5: till you taste it. Rich and savory with that open-pit
- 28:41Speaker 5: barbecue flavor. Castleberry slow cooks the choicest cuts of meats
- 28:45Speaker 5: over an open pit of smoldering oak coals, cooks them
- 28:48Speaker 5: to their juiciest peak of perfection, along with your choice
- 28:51Speaker 5: of hot coffee, a cold soft drink, or some wonderful
- 28:54Speaker 5: ice cream that you'll also find in our snack bar
- 28:56Speaker 5: to tempt your palate. And remember, Castleberry barbecues are not
- 29:00Speaker 5: just meat with barbecue sauce. They're pit-cooked barbecues prepared the
- 29:05Speaker 5: Southern way.

- 29:37Speaker 7: Dave, I do not get superheroes.
- 29:40Speaker 6: Alright, yeah, here I was gonna play a Tower of
- 29:42Speaker 6: Technobabble promo, but you're hearing more than enough of these guys, right?
- 29:46Speaker 6: We plugged them non-stop this whole episode. So I say
- 29:49Speaker 6: we pay it forward to somebody else, and now let's
- 29:51Speaker 6: use this time to play something from our friends at
- 29:54Speaker 6: Night of the Living Podcast.
- 29:55Speaker 13: We're a show that is ostensibly about horror.
- 29:59Speaker 8: Booby bouncing from the running.
- 30:01Speaker 3: That monkey was Benson.
- 30:03Speaker 1: He had sex with Kim Cattrall.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Open your mouth so I can fill the void.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Rats are gross.
- 30:10Speaker 7: Far eastern yeti have smaller feet than.

- 30:19Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:19Speaker 8: They gave each other a Dutch rudder.
- 30:21Speaker 10: It was fine.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Apparently you've never been to makeitandy.com. Those are flaps, not doors.
- 30:26Speaker 10: Woody. Anyway.
- 30:27Speaker 12: Who's Woody?
- 30:28Speaker 2: It's a wiker with a booty.
- 30:29Speaker 6: It looks like Mike's jerking it over there.
- 30:32Speaker 10: I'm going to class it up now.
- 30:34Speaker 2: After that slut. Shows are most popular by the way
- 30:37Speaker 2: they smell.
- 30:37Speaker 8: You're a real black hole right now.

- 31:16Speaker 6: So as I said, we've been to the Chicago Wizard
- 31:19Speaker 6: World before, so they've got quite a few. That's the
- 31:22Speaker 6: difference with this one is it's not just in one city.

- 31:28Speaker 6: of taken over. So you can go to wizardworld.com and
- 31:31Speaker 6: find out where they are in the near future.

- 31:37Speaker 6: Definitely check out wizardworld.com for all of your wizard world
- 31:41Speaker 6: type needs.

- 32:27Speaker 7: Hello, this is Peter Mayhew, listening to Movie Mountain Down.
- 32:41Speaker 2: It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen
- 32:42Speaker 2: enough movies.
- 32:43Speaker 1: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies.
- 32:45Speaker 3: And now, on with the show.
- 33:05Speaker 12: And you made me smile For a little while I
- 33:18Speaker 12: was falling in love And inside your.
- 33:22Speaker 13: Eyes All right, so... So, Brian, how's it going for you?
- 33:39Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Here at this.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Wonderfest, hmm?
- 33:42Speaker 6: Um, we're jammed back in the corner over there because
- 33:45Speaker 6: these bastards are over here. Well, we were discussing earlier about,
- 33:48Speaker 6: you know, you move in and you think your neighbors
- 33:49Speaker 6: are going to be cool, but then they're, like, out
- 33:51Speaker 6: in the yard making a lot of noise, like, throwing
- 33:54Speaker 6: frisbees into your windows and shit.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Hey, Brian!
- 33:57Speaker 5: Just saying.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Just saying. That's pretty much how it's gone. So luckily
- 34:01Speaker 2: I just left.
- 34:03Speaker 6: So that worked pretty well because then I wandered off
- 34:05Speaker 6: and looked at Jaws. So I've wandered around.
- 34:07Speaker 2: And the rest of the show's been great.
- 34:09Speaker 7: I was told it was going to be the real
- 34:10Speaker 7: Jaws head and it wasn't. It was a reproduction of
- 34:13Speaker 7: the Jaws head, right?
- 34:14Speaker 2: You can take your picture with it. You got that going.
- 34:17Speaker 7: You know, there's these girls that had three little pug
- 34:20Speaker 7: dogs and they put the pug dogs inside the Jaws mountain.
- 34:24Speaker 10: Got a picture of that.
- 34:26Speaker 2: That is worth their money right there. I'm also taking
- 34:29Speaker 2: a picture of the Death Star Droid.
- 34:30Speaker 10: Oh, no, I don't want it on Facebook.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So what kind of.
- 34:35Speaker 7: Adventures did you take the Death Star Droid on, Paul?
- 34:40Speaker 12: What?
- 34:41Speaker 7: What kind of adventures did you take the Death Star
- 34:43Speaker 7: Droid on?
- 34:44Speaker 1: Oh, as a child?
- 34:45Speaker 2: How did he get so rubbed out?
- 34:46Speaker 7: No, as a teenager.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And why is he so floppy?
- 34:49Speaker 14: Well, it started with him being buried about, you know,
- 34:54Speaker 14: 12 inches into the ground.
- 34:55Speaker 2: You were a sandbox kid with him, weren't you?
- 34:56Speaker 12: Yeah, absolutely.
- 34:57Speaker 6: Because the kids down the street from me had that,
- 34:58Speaker 6: and they would take their, and like, see, this was
- 35:00Speaker 6: my mistake. I tried to be like, hey, let's be
- 35:03Speaker 6: friends and trade toys.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Let's make friends, yeah, right. And so then, like, I
- 35:06Speaker 2: took one of his, and he took my Han Solo.
- 35:09Speaker 2: This was the original run Han Solo, not Best of
- 35:11Speaker 2: the Steves.
- 35:12Speaker 6: And so it was the big head it was the
- 35:14Speaker 6: big head I have to say I didn't like the
- 35:15Speaker 6: big head but you know I didn't know any different
- 35:17Speaker 6: at the time so yeah I let him borrow it
- 35:20Speaker 6: for like a couple of days or whatever it was
- 35:23Speaker 6: and they had a sandbox in the backyard and he
- 35:25Speaker 6: looked like he lived there the entire time when I
- 35:27Speaker 6: got it back I was just like mine I took
- 35:29Speaker 6: care of his you know it was pristine and it
- 35:31Speaker 6: sat on a shelf for a day or whatever I
- 35:33Speaker 6: did with it but like he took it out back
- 35:35Speaker 6: and like taped firecrackers to it I don't know I
- 35:38Speaker 6: was beat to hell when I got it back I
- 35:40Speaker 6: was just like Well, I guess we didn't lay the
- 35:42Speaker 6: ground rules out, so I can't really be mad, but
- 35:44Speaker 6: no more trading with you, buddy.
- 35:46Speaker 7: Are you still his friend to this day?
- 35:48Speaker 2: I did recently come across him on Facebook. I did not.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Was he covered in sand?
- 35:54Speaker 6: He would be like, I haven't talked to you in
- 35:56Speaker 6: 70 years. Leave me alone, you freak.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Something to that effect. I only assume.
- 36:03Speaker 7: So, you know, this is also Paul's first year here.
- 36:06Speaker 10: Out of the house.
- 36:07Speaker 7: He went to the dealer room. And, uh, we were
- 36:11Speaker 7: listening to him as he was going through and it
- 36:13Speaker 7: was like, um, It was like Robin Williams saying, oh,
- 36:16Speaker 7: look at this wonderful thing. It was really funny.
- 36:20Speaker 1: It was nothing but a series of, wow, I want that.
- 36:23Speaker 10: That one's mine. Whoopee, a Zeppelin. Whoopee, a Zeppelin. That's mine.
- 36:30Speaker 5: I did. I did.
- 36:31Speaker 10: I sent you photos.
- 36:32Speaker 7: Oh, tell me about the model contest room.
- 36:36Speaker 14: There are a lot of them, and they're all almost
- 36:41Speaker 14: exquisitely done.
- 36:42Speaker 4: I mean.
- 36:43Speaker 14: There's a couple amateur entries that are obviously done by
- 36:48Speaker 14: little kids.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Hey, I put my name on there. Shut up.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I saw yours was the X-Wing, wasn't it?
- 36:53Speaker 6: Yeah, but it was made out of, like, I stuck
- 36:54Speaker 6: some aluminum cans together and sort of bent one.
- 36:57Speaker 2: It was like, X-Wing! X-Wing!
- 36:59Speaker 10: Oh, wow. Yeah, yeah.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Don't upset the master.
- 37:03Speaker 6: Ben is now looking at photos of the awesome, awesome
- 37:09Speaker 6: models down in the model room.
- 37:11Speaker 7: Oh, and there's the pug dog in the shark mouth.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Okay, that is adorable.
- 37:15Speaker 7: Come on.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Who doesn't want to put their pug dog in a
- 37:18Speaker 2: shark mouth? Wait, maybe that came out.
- 37:21Speaker 7: So, what are your plans here, Brian? You got any
- 37:25Speaker 7: hot interviews lined up?
- 37:26Speaker 2: As soon as this room closes, I'm ditching you guys.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I'm free to roam the world.
- 37:30Speaker 1: When does this room close?
- 37:32Speaker 7: Five?
- 37:32Speaker 1: Is it five it closes?
- 37:33Speaker 10: I think it's... I think it is, isn't it?
- 37:35Speaker 7: I've lost track.
- 37:36Speaker 10: Oh, shit.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Boy, tell me about it.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I've lost track. I was here for like an hour,
- 37:40Speaker 2: so it's crazy. Hey, how are you guys doing?
- 37:44Speaker 7: Hey, you know, I was going to ask you, have
- 37:48Speaker 7: you been able to watch the Game of Thrones at all?
- 37:51Speaker 7: Is that anything that tracks on your radar?
- 37:55Speaker 2: I'll tell you how it tracks.
- 37:58Speaker 6: It tracks as, man, that's a lot of hours of
- 38:00Speaker 6: stuff to watch that I do not have time for.
- 38:03Speaker 2: It looks really interesting. It looks well done. That blonde
- 38:06Speaker 2: chick's super hot. She has dragons. I know all of
- 38:09Speaker 2: these things.
- 38:09Speaker 7: I don't know if you're into the sword and sorcery
- 38:11Speaker 7: type of stuff, are you?
- 38:12Speaker 2: Dude, I live and breathe Beastmaster, alright?
- 38:15Speaker 10: Beastmaster!
- 38:16Speaker 2: Beastmaster's in my veins.
- 38:18Speaker 6: So obviously I am on board with that type of thing,
- 38:21Speaker 6: but it's a lot of hours.
- 38:23Speaker 2: It's only 37 episodes.
- 38:24Speaker 10: It's only 37 hours.
- 38:25Speaker 2: You can knock that out. We're going to do 40
- 38:28Speaker 2: hours in a weekend.
- 38:29Speaker 8: What's your excuse?
- 38:30Speaker 2: I don't want to do that.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Once you start, you can't stop. I'm telling you. I
- 38:37Speaker 1: got to.
- 38:38Speaker 7: Tell you, can I just be a complete man here?
- 38:43Speaker 7: I don't know if you can, but all right, try.
- 38:46Speaker 7: The boob, Colton, is amazing for episode.
- 38:49Speaker 2: I won't say again.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Two per female.
- 38:53Speaker 6: I will totally admit to my manliness in saying I
- 38:55Speaker 6: may or may not have run across a.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Few of them on the internet.
- 38:57Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:58Speaker 2: So I might have already seen a few snippets of that.
- 39:01Speaker 7: It's like, why do you watch The Wicker Man? Hand
- 39:04Speaker 7: to heart, why do you watch it?
- 39:06Speaker 2: Because that song is awesome.
- 39:09Speaker 6: Now, what she's wearing when she's singing it or not
- 39:11Speaker 6: has nothing to do with the fact that that song
- 39:14Speaker 6: is awesome.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Just saying.
- 39:17Speaker 14: Corn rigs and barley rigs.
- 39:20Speaker 10: Corn rigs of barley.
- 39:22Speaker 7: I think you're kind of thrusting.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not doing it quite the same.
- 39:26Speaker 1: No, I mean, you know.
- 39:28Speaker 2: You work with what you got, right?
- 39:30Speaker 1: That was being sung while the guy was in a seaplane, okay?
- 39:33Speaker 7: I mean.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Come on.
- 39:34Speaker 2: That's not the same at all.
- 39:35Speaker 1: He was dancing in the seaplane.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Okay, well.
- 39:39Speaker 7: Do you think you're going to.
- 39:41Speaker 1: This is impressive that I can even do this right now.
- 39:43Speaker 10: I know.
- 39:44Speaker 2: We're on Death Star Droid, but you're doing what you're doing.
- 39:46Speaker 10: What hour are we on?
- 39:47Speaker 7: I'm more impressed that the Death Star Droid is still standing.
- 39:49Speaker 10: I know.
- 39:50Speaker 6: I'm going to use the force now and knock him away.
- 39:56Speaker 8: My dark powers.
- 39:58Speaker 2: What did I tell you?
- 39:59Speaker 1: There you go. That was impressive.
- 40:05Speaker 7: Audio podcast that On two audio podcasts that will never
- 40:10Speaker 7: be seen.
- 40:11Speaker 2: That was the funniest thing.
- 40:13Speaker 1: It was all timing.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Keep in mind.
- 40:15Speaker 3: The force.
- 40:16Speaker 7: Now, Brian, I knew you had a beef with us.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Many.
- 40:22Speaker 7: And that's why I want you to know we all
- 40:25Speaker 7: pitched in and we got you a little something.
- 40:28Speaker 2: So, uh. It's not actually this.
- 40:31Speaker 1: It's inside these. This is our way of apologizing to you.
- 40:34Speaker 7: A major award, a father and son award, because we
- 40:37Speaker 7: figure you're like the father podcast, and we're the little
- 40:40Speaker 7: upstart podcast that's going to get our hand chopped off.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Whatever you're saying, I'm playing with lightsabers. Hold on.
- 40:48Speaker 10: No, that's impossible.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Shut up, bitch.
- 40:51Speaker 6: Didn't you guys add your own later?
- 40:54Speaker 2: I don't know, that was just me growing up.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I don't actually steal your toys.
- 40:59Speaker 7: No, no, we got them for you. I got those
- 41:02Speaker 7: in 1985, distinctly knowing I was going to piss you
- 41:05Speaker 7: off someday, and I'd been keeping them ever since.
- 41:07Speaker 2: You do know I'm a geek, and I know that
- 41:09Speaker 2: wasn't in 85. 96, maybe.
- 41:14Speaker 7: This is sleepy mouth here, okay?
- 41:16Speaker 2: I'm very sleepy. Nice try, but 96.
- 41:20Speaker 7: But please, take them with our compliments.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Did you like yell at you to get crap out
- 41:24Speaker 2: of the house?
- 41:25Speaker 7: We are having a baby, yes.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Get this stuff out of this room.
- 41:28Speaker 2: We have a crib to put together.
- 41:31Speaker 7: Did you hear about the lizard?
- 41:33Speaker 2: You're having a lizard?
- 41:34Speaker 10: No.
- 41:34Speaker 2: That is way better than a baby.
- 41:35Speaker 10: I know, I know. Well, it's a lizard baby.
- 41:37Speaker 2: I keep trying to get.
- 41:38Speaker 6: People to have puppies instead of babies, but they always
- 41:40Speaker 6: go for babies.
- 41:42Speaker 7: I keep giving my wife eggs, telling her to strip
- 41:44Speaker 7: naked and walk into the fire, and she Do it.
- 41:47Speaker 7: But you haven't seen Game of Thrones, so that makes
- 41:48Speaker 7: no sense to you at all.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Either way, it works. I've watched a video kind of
- 41:53Speaker 2: like that before, if that helps. It has nothing to
- 41:56Speaker 2: do with Game of Thrones. It's the internet.
- 41:58Speaker 7: Maybe you with Game of Thrones has been like me with...
- 42:01Speaker 7: Krull and Jaws and Alien I've seen all of the
- 42:05Speaker 7: 80's I've seen all of the most poignant clips I've
- 42:09Speaker 7: never seen these movies but I've seen all of the
- 42:11Speaker 7: major clips so it's like I've seen the cliff notes
- 42:14Speaker 7: kind of like you in Game of Thrones all the
- 42:16Speaker 7: best bits are topless so you've seen all the best
- 42:19Speaker 7: bits right.
- 42:20Speaker 14: There were some nice bits I'm just saying there were
- 42:23Speaker 14: some interesting moments of intrigue in the Game of Thrones
- 42:28Speaker 14: you know world what yeah intrigue intrigue suspense murder by
- 42:34Speaker 14: the way.
- 42:35Speaker 7: I've given anything off to here i'll let you you
- 42:38Speaker 7: can you can collect toys later you can collect these
- 42:41Speaker 7: after the uh.
- 42:42Speaker 14: Oh don't let them fall because those lightsabers will snap i.
- 42:45Speaker 7: Gave them toys okay you're not off the.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Hunt so let's work the other way now have you
- 42:51Speaker 2: guys seen.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Any movies lately oh movies.
- 42:55Speaker 7: Maybe this is another problem i don't The last movie
- 42:58Speaker 7: I saw, honestly, was the last Hobbit movie, and I
- 43:01Speaker 7: didn't like it.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I watched that.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I still haven't watched it. Really?
- 43:05Speaker 1: I watched that recently, actually. Will that mic work? Oh, no,
- 43:10Speaker 1: not for this.
- 43:11Speaker 2: We're double fisting. Right, right, I forgot.
- 43:13Speaker 7: I keep forgetting.
- 43:14Speaker 8: I saw X-Men the other day.
- 43:15Speaker 10: Oh, there you go.
- 43:16Speaker 6: We were having our X-Men discussion, so feel free to
- 43:19Speaker 6: add to it. What were your thoughts on it? Or
- 43:20Speaker 6: should we not spoil it for everyone else?
- 43:22Speaker 2: I don't really care. Go ahead.
- 43:25Speaker 11: I'm a comic book fan from way back, and A,
- 43:27Speaker 11: I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a good story. B,
- 43:29Speaker 11: it erased. Spoiler alert.
- 43:32Speaker 6: I think we already addressed this on our show, but
- 43:33Speaker 6: go ahead.
- 43:34Speaker 8: It erased X3.
- 43:35Speaker 2: That's what I said. I was like, it got up
- 43:37Speaker 2: to two and went, now let's see. I'm Bryan Singer.
- 43:40Speaker 10: Where did I leave off?
- 43:41Speaker 2: Yeah, everything from here bullshit.
- 43:42Speaker 8: Choppy choppy.
- 43:43Speaker 11: And, you know, they had Kitty Pryde sending Wolverine back
- 43:46Speaker 11: in time, which that's not her power set.
- 43:48Speaker 1: But you know what?
- 43:48Speaker 8: They erased X3, so I'm going to.
- 43:50Speaker 10: Live with it.
- 43:50Speaker 2: But she's going like this with her hands.
- 43:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:52Speaker 8: See, that's not really her.
- 43:53Speaker 2: So it's cool.
- 43:54Speaker 8: That's not really her deal, but again.
- 43:56Speaker 1: I'm totally lost.
- 43:57Speaker 10: Yeah, I know.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Going like this. It's more like this.
- 44:04Speaker 7: But if she's a kitty, she doesn't have fingers. She's
- 44:06Speaker 7: got paws, right? So she was doing like, you know.
- 44:08Speaker 8: No, Kitty's got claws.
- 44:09Speaker 2: She was.
- 44:10Speaker 10: I was kind of hoping she'd.
- 44:12Speaker 6: Do that pawing at you thing, you know, when the
- 44:14Speaker 6: mood strikes them.
- 44:16Speaker 7: Making some bread.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Kneading the dough. Sometimes, you know. Whatever gets you through
- 44:24Speaker 2: the night with Kitty.
- 44:25Speaker 7: Oh, hey, you should check out the model room. Because
- 44:35Speaker 7: apparently I've been on Movie Meltdown way too many times,
- 44:38Speaker 7: so I'm.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Going to go take a pee break.
- 44:39Speaker 7: Way too many times.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Paul and I are going to stay over here.
- 44:42Speaker 7: While I'm gone, I want you to make up Lost
- 44:46Speaker 7: Time with Paul. Go over all the 19 topics that you.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Can go over with me. Oh, really? 19 topics. That's right.
- 44:55Speaker 2: In the beginning, God said unto Paul.
- 45:00Speaker 1: There could be only one.
- 45:03Speaker 2: And he said, I don't watch movies. And the show
- 45:06Speaker 2: was over.
- 45:09Speaker 1: I watch plenty of movies. Unfortunately, most of them suck.
- 45:13Speaker 1: They're really, really bad movies. That's what I'm a fan of.
- 45:16Speaker 6: Are you spiraling blindly through Netflix and just hitting the screen?
- 45:19Speaker 2: That can lead to trouble.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Well, but see, that's the kind of trouble I like
- 45:23Speaker 1: to get in.
- 45:24Speaker 14: Then you can't complain after that.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Mega Shark versus Mecha Shark. Have you seen that one?
- 45:29Speaker 2: I'm a shark to push kind of guy myself.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, seen that one. Oh, ah. Have you seen Grabbers?
- 45:35Speaker 2: I know of it.
- 45:36Speaker 1: You've got to see Grabbers. You will love.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Grabbers, actually. We're going to put a picture of you
- 45:41Speaker 2: in for the Grabbers special episode. Okay. That's what we're saying.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 45:44Speaker 14: That's totally worth it. In fact, I might be able
- 45:47Speaker 14: to get a special someone I know to sign on
- 45:51Speaker 14: for that one.
- 45:51Speaker 8: Jenny.
- 45:52Speaker 2: That Jenny character is probably up for it. I may
- 45:54Speaker 2: or may not have been talking to her earlier. I
- 45:56Speaker 2: don't think I... She may have introduced herself by her
- 45:59Speaker 2: real name, but we'll say Jenny.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Well, whatever.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Anyway, Grabbers.
- 46:02Speaker 14: Definitely, I'm trying to remember who's the guy that makes
- 46:06Speaker 14: the appearance in that.
- 46:08Speaker 1: He's sort of the, he plays an alcoholic. I'm going
- 46:13Speaker 1: to go with Tim Curry. No, no, he would be
- 46:18Speaker 1: too old for this.
- 46:19Speaker 14: He's sort of, the character is sort of the heartthrob,
- 46:23Speaker 14: but man.
- 46:25Speaker 1: It's going to bug me. I'll have to look it up. Anyway,
- 46:28Speaker 1: so yeah, there's that one.
- 46:29Speaker 4: Grabbers.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Grabbers.
- 46:32Speaker 1: And it's actually a good monster flick.
- 46:35Speaker 6: What era is this?
- 46:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, last five years.
- 46:40Speaker 7: All right.
- 46:42Speaker 2: I'm partial to The Burrowers. Have you seen The Burrowers?
- 46:46Speaker 10: The Burrowers?
- 46:47Speaker 1: No, that's a new one for me.
- 46:49Speaker 2: We had, actually, J.T.
- 46:51Speaker 6: Petty directed it, and he was on the show, kind
- 46:54Speaker 6: of the coolest guy ever, and saw the movie, like,
- 46:57Speaker 6: after that, I think, and, like, was impressed by just
- 47:00Speaker 6: how good it was, like, It's, like, basically.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Sort of along the lines of, like, a Tremors sort
- 47:06Speaker 2: of thing.
- 47:06Speaker 10: Okay.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Only it's also set in the Old West. It's really
- 47:10Speaker 2: creatively done.
- 47:11Speaker 1: And what's it called?
- 47:12Speaker 2: The Grab... No, wait.
- 47:13Speaker 10: I'm missing it here.
- 47:15Speaker 1: It was... It's not like you've been awake for the last.
- 47:17Speaker 7: And the Burrowers.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but I have no brain skills anyway.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Okay, the Burrowers. So is it still, like, subterranean critters that...
- 47:25Speaker 1: Something along those lines, yes.
- 47:28Speaker 2: But they're very clever, the way that he puts them together.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:32Speaker 1: When was that released?
- 47:36Speaker 2: Early 2000s.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Maybe 8 or so.
- 47:37Speaker 7: Moving into the later 2000s.
- 47:38Speaker 10: Grabbers, 2012.
- 47:38Speaker 2: And the heartthrob lead.
- 47:39Speaker 6: Was Richard Coyle, who you may have recognized him from
- 47:43Speaker 6: the BBC show Coupling.
- 48:00Speaker 2: That's not British, is it?
- 48:02Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 2: I don't want to have to watch British things.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, it's a British movie.
- 48:05Speaker 7: I have to put on a translator.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I speak American, thank you very much.
- 48:12Speaker 10: American.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Hi, Jenny.
- 48:17Speaker 1: And, yeah, anyway, so Burrowers.
- 48:20Speaker 2: We'll find you a new name. What's your code name?
- 48:25Speaker 10: Code name.
- 48:26Speaker 4: Jenny.
- 48:27Speaker 2: You don't want to be associated with either of our.
- 48:29Speaker 14: Shows yeah you don't want to get involved with this
- 48:32Speaker 14: alright whatever you do don't marry a man that is
- 48:38Speaker 14: into this stuff you.
- 48:38Speaker 6: Don't want to get involved with this she was hooked
- 48:41Speaker 6: right there sucker let's see what else.
- 48:49Speaker 14: What else are you asking me or is this just
- 48:54Speaker 14: a general topic.
- 48:55Speaker 2: I don't care whoever has seen anything.
- 48:57Speaker 7: Well, hey, last night we were talking to, like, the
- 49:00Speaker 7: biggest Godzilla fan ever. And I don't know your thoughts
- 49:03Speaker 7: on Godzilla.
- 49:04Speaker 2: You for it or you against it?
- 49:06Speaker 7: What do you.
- 49:06Speaker 6: Tune in next week to find out.
- 49:10Speaker 2: Ah, that's the upcoming show. It's the coming in the
- 49:13Speaker 2: near future episode.
- 49:14Speaker 7: Can you give us a taste? Give us a little teaser.
- 49:16Speaker 1: Yeah, there's lots of that.
- 49:19Speaker 7: Really?
- 49:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Oh, and explosions.
- 49:21Speaker 7: Probably.
- 49:22Speaker 2: A few explosions.
- 49:24Speaker 1: And the sound of that sparking fire, you know, sound.
- 49:30Speaker 9: The.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Him sparking.
- 49:32Speaker 2: His fire, it's not the old one that he used
- 49:34Speaker 2: to be.
- 49:35Speaker 14: It's like a flamethrower mixed with a... Like a lightening
- 49:39Speaker 14: or a big lighter?
- 49:41Speaker 10: Yeah, sparks.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Yeah. The crackle of sparks flying.
- 49:48Speaker 2: It's not exactly the same.
- 49:49Speaker 6: They've changed a little, but I have to say his
- 49:51Speaker 6: new nuclear-powered blast is pretty impressive.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So you did see the new one?
- 49:55Speaker 2: I have seen it.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Okay, I haven't seen it yet.
- 49:57Speaker 2: We will be discussing it at great length. Sometime in
- 50:00Speaker 2: the near future.
- 50:01Speaker 1: And I think hopefully I'll see it before you all
- 50:03Speaker 1: talk about it.
- 50:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 50:04Speaker 7: Did you guys? Probably not. Did you guys get all
- 50:06Speaker 7: the 19 topics that Paul missed?
- 50:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we totally did.
- 50:09Speaker 10: Oh, wait.
- 50:10Speaker 7: Covered it.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Did you do your top five movie songs, Paul?
- 50:13Speaker 1: Did we do movie songs?
- 50:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I did that one, too. It was awesome. That
- 50:16Speaker 2: was a whole different episode.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Down in the valley.
- 50:22Speaker 6: If you would like to say, I mean, we've only
- 50:25Speaker 6: got two-thirds, so if we want to round out the.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Set at some point, we can do that, but I
- 50:29Speaker 2: won't make him do it. Wait, wait, wait. You've got three-fourths. Well, no,
- 50:33Speaker 2: I already have the other one. We just haven't worked that.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Into the episode.
- 50:36Speaker 7: Dave sent him a Towerbots top five song.
- 50:38Speaker 2: So we can do Paul and Towerbots as their own episode.
- 50:40Speaker 3: If you'd like.
- 50:41Speaker 7: Oh, I get you. I get you.
- 50:43Speaker 2: See, you're thinking ahead. You've got to be thinking ahead.
- 50:45Speaker 7: There's a lot of carbon scoring.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Oh, they don't have any copies.
- 50:48Speaker 10: Duplicates.
- 50:50Speaker 7: Oh, no, wait.
- 50:51Speaker 1: So I wanted to hear.
- 50:52Speaker 14: The thoughts about the second piece of the Hobbit trilogy.
- 50:59Speaker 1: You said you saw it. You didn't like it.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Was it the second or the first?
- 51:03Speaker 1: Did you say that?
- 51:04Speaker 2: I didn't because I haven't seen it yet.
- 51:05Speaker 7: Oh, you haven't seen it.
- 51:06Speaker 10: Oh, that's right.
- 51:07Speaker 7: I saw the first one and I was like, oh, okay, whatever.
- 51:10Speaker 7: The second one pissed me off.
- 51:12Speaker 10: Really?
- 51:12Speaker 1: What was it about it that you didn't like?
- 51:14Speaker 7: The overkill of it.
- 51:17Speaker 2: I have that in general.
- 51:18Speaker 14: Like just the scenes that were never in the book
- 51:21Speaker 14: that they added in just to make a trilogy?
- 51:24Speaker 7: The never-ending action scenes. But the thing that really pissed
- 51:26Speaker 7: me off more than anything was the dragon chase in
- 51:30Speaker 7: the mountain. You know? Like, up until the point where
- 51:33Speaker 7: Bilbo's talking to Smaug, that's all really, really cool. I mean,
- 51:38Speaker 7: it was a good conversation. It was good acting. But
- 51:41Speaker 7: then they do the thing where the dwarves sneak down
- 51:44Speaker 7: with them, and Smaug's certainly chasing them. I'm not going
- 51:46Speaker 7: to spoil this for you.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Oh, my God. There's a dragon in this?
- 51:49Speaker 1: There's not only a dragon.
- 51:50Speaker 10: There's a molten dwarf.
- 51:52Speaker 2: For some reason. Which is ironic because it's giant. For
- 51:56Speaker 2: some reason, they were able. Are we going to spoil
- 51:59Speaker 2: this for you?
- 51:59Speaker 7: Should we not say this?
- 52:00Speaker 6: I have no idea when I'm going to get around
- 52:02Speaker 6: to it.
- 52:02Speaker 7: Okay, do you want me to tell you this? For
- 52:05Speaker 7: some reason, after 200 years that they were able to
- 52:09Speaker 7: stay away, they were able, within five minutes, to create, fill,
- 52:13Speaker 7: and build a 40-story tall gold molten dwarf that suddenly
- 52:21Speaker 7: melts all over Smaug, which was my favorite part.
- 52:24Speaker 14: It had hardened just enough so that when the cast
- 52:28Speaker 14: is pulled away... It looks very beautiful and shiny, but
- 52:32Speaker 14: then starts to fall apart.
- 52:34Speaker 1: That's nice. Then you've got a gold-covered dragon.
- 52:40Speaker 2: I've had this for years and years.
- 52:42Speaker 7: Now with Jackson. I went too far.
- 52:43Speaker 2: I have one main issue.
- 52:45Speaker 4: One word.
- 52:46Speaker 2: Editing. Why? Why did he forget how to edit?
- 52:50Speaker 6: If you go back in time and look at the
- 52:51Speaker 6: run times of his movies, they were like 90-minute movies.
- 52:54Speaker 2: He knew how to make a movie.
- 52:55Speaker 7: I didn't mind the Lord of the Rings.
- 52:57Speaker 8: That's a fair point.
- 52:58Speaker 2: No, they were too long to do.
- 52:59Speaker 7: Two Towers is way too freaking long. I was such
- 53:02Speaker 7: a fan of the books, though, and he was sticking
- 53:04Speaker 7: more to the books then. Now he's just throwing in stuff.
- 53:07Speaker 14: Well, now because there's some dude writing a check that says, oh,
- 53:11Speaker 14: we need a trilogy so we can parse all this
- 53:14Speaker 14: stuff out and sell action figures.
- 53:17Speaker 7: Why did trilogies become such a big deal?
- 53:19Speaker 2: Money.
- 53:20Speaker 7: Well, single money.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Star Wars did it.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Star Wars did it. Was that it?
- 53:24Speaker 1: Yeah, they ruined it for everyone.
- 53:26Speaker 7: Because Superman tried to do a quadrilogy, right?
- 53:29Speaker 2: That worked, right? Well, we did achieve peace through our quest.
- 53:33Speaker 6: I mean, if we wouldn't have had the quest for peace,
- 53:35Speaker 6: how would we now be in this wonderful, peaceful world
- 53:38Speaker 6: that we live in?
- 53:38Speaker 7: And Star Trek did a sextology, right?
- 53:42Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Where do you cut it off? Just the old cast,
- 53:44Speaker 2: and then do you count generations?
- 53:46Speaker 7: That's expanded universe. Oh, wait, wait.
- 53:48Speaker 2: I think that's expanded you.
- 53:50Speaker 14: I wanted to, you briefly touched on something there that
- 53:53Speaker 14: I wanted to bring back.
- 53:54Speaker 7: Up that The quadrilogy or the sext trilogy?
- 53:56Speaker 8: No, no, no, no, no.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Go back further.
- 53:58Speaker 2: I'm making up words here.
- 54:00Speaker 1: The desire that we have over here to.
- 54:07Speaker 14: Make sequel after sequel after sequel, whereas over in Europe
- 54:12Speaker 14: and the UK, they'll do a movie and totally be
- 54:16Speaker 14: satisfied with that.
- 54:17Speaker 1: Even though there's plenty of room to do a sequel,
- 54:19Speaker 1: they are happy to let it lie. Is it because...
- 54:22Speaker 1: It's generally state-funded entertainment.
- 54:26Speaker 2: Depends on what country we're talking about. There are no
- 54:30Speaker 2: sequels in North Korea. Then we can reference Godzilla. How
- 54:33Speaker 2: many Godzillas have there been in this year?
- 54:35Speaker 8: No, no, no.
- 54:37Speaker 14: I'm speaking more of movies from the UK.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Yeah, see, I think you're depending on that.
- 54:43Speaker 7: Well, the James Bond.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Well, notwithstanding.
- 54:48Speaker 7: Is Star Wars considered an American or a British film?
- 54:52Speaker 6: I think it still counts as American because it's all American-funded.
- 54:55Speaker 2: But, I mean, that's kind of questionable.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I mean, it's a mix of American and British actors.
- 55:02Speaker 7: You know what I think it might be, Paul? I'm
- 55:04Speaker 7: not sure British movies are original screenplays. Aren't they usually
- 55:09Speaker 7: based on novels, and novels tend to be more standalone?
- 55:13Speaker 7: The exception being Harry Potter, obviously. That might be my impression.
- 55:18Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Well, they definitely do this with TV, right?
- 55:23Speaker 14: Like, American TV will just beat a story to death,
- 55:27Speaker 14: you know, like.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Season to season.
- 55:29Speaker 2: Season 12.
- 55:30Speaker 1: And, you know, the BBC is like, all right, you
- 55:33Speaker 1: get seven episodes.
- 55:34Speaker 10: That's it.
- 55:34Speaker 7: That is because it's state-funded. I think movies are different.
- 55:37Speaker 7: Movies are a different animal. Like, they're a commercial venture.
- 55:41Speaker 14: Yeah, but there's just not as many sequels in the U.K., Yeah,
- 55:46Speaker 14: but there's not as many movies either.
- 55:48Speaker 1: There's not as many.
- 55:49Speaker 7: People, maybe.
- 55:50Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Mark Cochran, if you're not as many, period!
- 55:54Speaker 7: We have a friend in England, Mark Cochran, if you listen,
- 55:57Speaker 7: please text our Facebook and let us know the answer.
- 56:00Speaker 2: We are a sprawling country compared to most.
- 56:03Speaker 6: I guess we also decided to make a whole bunch
- 56:05Speaker 6: of movies to go with.
- 56:08Speaker 7: Wow. T, you want to tap the computer, get it
- 56:11Speaker 7: back on?
- 56:12Speaker 14: I'm just waiting for some kind of hot food to
- 56:17Speaker 14: get thrown.
- 56:18Speaker 1: At my face so I can throw some groceries.
- 56:20Speaker 8: Down my neck.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Classy.
- 56:24Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 56:27Speaker 2: When's our Jerry Reed hour? Yeah.
- 56:30Speaker 7: You know how they always have Talk Like Pirate Day?
- 56:31Speaker 10: You took all the rambling out of me, girl.
- 56:34Speaker 2: I would much prefer that because I'm sick to death
- 56:36Speaker 2: of a pirate nonsense.
- 56:37Speaker 7: How did that start? What's the deal with murder and
- 56:41Speaker 7: bloodthirsty pirates?
- 56:42Speaker 1: I blame that Jerry Depp bouncer.
- 56:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 56:45Speaker 2: Really? Like, did anybody care?
- 56:47Speaker 1: Hardly his fault, though. I would blame Disney more than anybody.
- 56:50Speaker 2: Yeah, but, I mean, it's so easy to blame Disney
- 56:52Speaker 2: for everything.
- 56:53Speaker 14: Yeah, but they've done some quality things, but the whole
- 56:56Speaker 14: pirate thing.
- 56:59Speaker 6: One movie, again, talk about one that should have stopped
- 57:02Speaker 6: at one, but kept beating the cash cow.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Right. Because that first one was pretty entertaining.
- 57:06Speaker 7: Wait, what? Which one?
- 57:07Speaker 2: Pirates of the Caribbean.
- 57:08Speaker 10: Oh, right, right, right. It was entertaining. Yeah, could have
- 57:11Speaker 10: let it be.
- 57:12Speaker 1: You could have left.
- 57:13Speaker 10: You know.
- 57:14Speaker 7: I would have liked the sequels better if they would
- 57:15Speaker 7: have moved to different seas, like Pirates of the Aleutian Sea,
- 57:20Speaker 7: Pirates of the Caspian Sea, Pirates of Lake Michigan, you know,
- 57:25Speaker 7: if they would have kept it going.
- 57:26Speaker 2: To different places.
- 57:29Speaker 7: There actually were pirates on the ohio river it was
- 57:32Speaker 7: down below evansville there were caves in the uh shoreline
- 57:35Speaker 7: and pirates would hide out and as the steamboats.
- 57:38Speaker 1: Are there gold in them their caves.
- 57:39Speaker 7: They would golden them their pits and and they jump
- 57:42Speaker 7: out and they ambush the uh steamboats i'm not making
- 57:45Speaker 7: this up this is true history you can look it
- 57:47Speaker 7: up on ancestry with.
- 57:49Speaker 14: Their long boats like what how did how did they
- 57:53Speaker 14: outrun the steamboats rocket boat rocket boat that's right Once.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Again, he's making things up.
- 58:00Speaker 7: And that's why Madison has the regatta, because it's a
- 58:04Speaker 7: tribute to those long-gone pirate days of speedboats on the
- 58:08Speaker 7: high river.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Madison, home of the rocket boat. Yeah, that's right.
- 58:14Speaker 14: Home of the regatta rocket boat.
- 58:17Speaker 10: Rocket boat regatta.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Hey, I just noticed we're... I just noticed we're coming
- 58:24Speaker 1: up on the hour. Do we have some stuff we
- 58:26Speaker 1: need to do?
- 58:27Speaker 7: Yeah, we've got to read a commercial.
- 58:28Speaker 1: We just have to hit the split. Oh, my God.
- 58:33Speaker 1: My head is kind of killing me.
- 58:37Speaker 2: You should take a nap.
- 58:41Speaker 1: I know.
- 58:42Speaker 10: I know.
- 58:42Speaker 1: I really ought to.
- 58:43Speaker 2: You should all take a nap at the same time. Well,
- 58:47Speaker 2: one of us has to talk. No, you should all
- 58:49Speaker 2: take a nap.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 58:52Speaker 14: Look at this yeah I definitely want to do that
- 58:56Speaker 14: before see later on tonight we are reading the Empire
- 59:01Speaker 14: Strikes Back can I let the cat out of the
- 59:04Speaker 14: bag Yeah.
- 59:05Speaker 2: Hey, dude.
- 59:06Speaker 7: Sorry, go on.
- 59:07Speaker 14: We're going to read The Empire Strikes Back as if
- 59:11Speaker 14: it were a country western.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Not a western western?
- 59:15Speaker 7: I've gone off of script.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Not a western western. A country western. Like a country
- 59:19Speaker 1: western song.
- 59:20Speaker 2: You let the cat out of the bag on that
- 59:21Speaker 2: like a long time ago. You were talking about a
- 59:23Speaker 2: week ago. You're real fast.
- 59:25Speaker 7: Oh, have we?
- 59:26Speaker 10: Wow, you actually listen to this? How come I'm.
- 59:28Speaker 2: The one that's on top of what's going on.
- 59:30Speaker 1: In your show? Well, for those who are just tuning in, right?
- 59:35Speaker 1: We're letting it out now. And last week. No, yeah,
- 59:40Speaker 1: so we're going to do that.
- 59:41Speaker 14: And I want to take a nap before that, so I'm...
- 59:45Speaker 14: I haven't been able to sleep.
- 59:47Speaker 1: I try to take two naps between now and when
- 59:51Speaker 1: we started, and I have not been able to sleep.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Your napper's broke.
- 59:55Speaker 12: It is.
- 59:55Speaker 4: It is.
- 59:57Speaker 1: So right now, I'm starting to see things on the
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: inside of my eyelids.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: You can clear the spot for the special guests.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Oh, hey, there's dragons involved. There's dragons.
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: Wait, oh, please, please, you have to come and talk
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: to us, please. I'm going to try to find you
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: over here.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: We didn't notice that you had.
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: Dragons there, too. Please sit down.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: You've got.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:00:26Speaker 7: Okay, um.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: I need some help here. Special gift.
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: We're actually doing two podcasts at the same time.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: It's the first in the world, isn't it? This is tricky.
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: Right, okay. We're doing a world record attempt, and Brian
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: just likes doing podcasts.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: I like podcasts.
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: And you're the first Game of Thrones person we've seen.
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: Usually it's all kind of stormtroopers and whatnot, but you've
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: got little basket of dragons, like you just came out
- 1:00:54Speaker 7: of the fire with them.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:57Speaker 16: I got my baby with me.
- 1:00:58Speaker 7: What's your name?
- 1:01:00Speaker 16: Amanda.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: Amanda. And I take it you're liking the Game of Thrones? Oh,
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: I love the show.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: Why?
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: What is it about?
- 1:01:07Speaker 16: I just like that genre of fantasy.
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: Better than Tolkien, would you say?
- 1:01:15Speaker 10: No. No.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Really?
- 1:01:17Speaker 16: I wouldn't say that.
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: But you're not dressed as Gwynevere or Gwyndolin.
- 1:01:20Speaker 12: Wait.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: What's the elf?
- 1:01:23Speaker 10: Get the book.
- 1:01:24Speaker 13: Her name's Ginny.
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: Galadriel.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Well, you're not just as Galadriel unless Galadriel had little
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: baby dragons.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: She would make a good Galadriel.
- 1:01:29Speaker 16: My boyfriend actually asked me to make this one and
- 1:01:34Speaker 16: him the Drago costume for Halloween.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Spoiler.
- 1:01:39Speaker 10: He gets killed.
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: What the hell did you have for him?
- 1:01:42Speaker 10: Oh, you ruined it. Yeah.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: It's a very dramatic ending.
- 1:01:46Speaker 16: He likes that character.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: It's a very powerful character. It is.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: He treated you like shit.
- 1:01:54Speaker 10: No, no, there's read the books.
- 1:01:57Speaker 16: They actually love each other.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: You know what? I just realized my son, my moon.
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: Hold it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: Hold it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: I just, this is embarrassing.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: We've been taught.
- 1:02:04Speaker 10: I've been taught.
- 1:02:05Speaker 7: I haven't slept for 21 hours. When you said Drago,
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: for some reason I was thinking of your brother.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 1:02:13Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: I was thinking of the villain in Rocky IV.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: No, that's... Isn't that him?
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: Okay, I get it now. I get it now.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Drago Malfoy.
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: Your boyfriend is obviously a very big, scary, muscular guy.
- 1:02:25Speaker 10: Yeah, I know.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I was thinking of.
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: Your brother on the show who gets killed with the
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: gold hat. So, okay, never mind.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: I just wanted to be known. I took the online quiz,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: and I am.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: I have a kinship with the House Targaryen.
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: I took the same quiz, and I'm the Lannister, apparently.
- 1:02:48Speaker 16: I haven't seen that quiz yet.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: I took a Cosmo quiz once. And how did that
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: work out for you?
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Not good.
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: Not good.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: I only took the quiz because they forced me to.
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: So do you often dress up for these things?
- 1:03:02Speaker 16: I've been coming to this for five years.
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:03:07Speaker 16: I've dressed up for two years, the past two years.
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: Who did you come as last year?
- 1:03:12Speaker 16: I was Poison Ivy last year.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Poison Ivy.
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, remember?
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: I think it was on your pockets. We're like, hey,
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Poison Ivy just walked by. Go back and look. Let's
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: go to the archives.
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: And now here's where Brian will pause and go back
- 1:03:29Speaker 7: and insert from that time.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:03:42Speaker 7: I just had a cosplay question. You know, we were
- 1:03:44Speaker 7: talking about how people dress up, and we just had
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: a Poison Ivy walk by. A very nice Poison Ivy,
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: I might add. You know, and we got the Stormtroopers
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: walking around, there was a Gorn. Why doesn't anyone ever
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: cosplay as the guy wearing the ping-pong ball CGI suit?
- 1:04:03Speaker 10: That'd be a great.
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: Cosplay, man.
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: Okay, so do you know what you're coming as next year?
- 1:04:17Speaker 16: Actually, I'm going to dress up again tomorrow as She-Ra.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Oh, wow! The princess of power.
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: Wait, yes.
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: Now, is your boyfriend dressing up as the magical flying horse?
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: No, he's not going to dress up He should dress
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: up as that weird dude with the mustache that hangs
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: out with him.
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: Bo.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Bo's an odd character.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he's... I don't remember Bo. What does Bo look like?
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Google Bo.
- 1:04:46Speaker 7: He was the.
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: Bo.
- 1:04:49Speaker 10: Is amusing.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Is it Bo or is it.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: I think he's confused. Is it Bo as in... He
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: was the.
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: Only guy in that whole forest and yet he.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: And he had his little... Mustache and his little heart.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: It's not a little mustache.
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: He wore his heart, not on his sleeve.
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: He wore it on his chest.
- 1:05:05Speaker 16: It's like a Tom Selleck mustache.
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: It is a Burt Reynolds Tom Selleck mustache.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:08Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: I think he was kind of a... I don't know.
- 1:05:12Speaker 7: He's like a hag hag.
- 1:05:14Speaker 12: Oh.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I can't describe it. Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: He's wearing that crazy tie.
- 1:05:19Speaker 16: No one knew anything about it.
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: Right, right.
- 1:05:23Speaker 16: Whoa.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: Well, they look very friendly.
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: Here's how you would explain it. Do you know how
- 1:05:28Speaker 7: in the Masters of the Universe toys there was, like,
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: one girl figure? You know, Teela? In the She-Ra line,
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: there was one dude figure, and that's this guy. So
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: he was the.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: And he just sat on the shelves and nobody bought him.
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: Because there was always, like, 40 Eleven Princess Leias.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: And I was like, what? Come on, girls, buy it.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Or at least boys, branch out.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Something.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: But there would always be a bunch of Princess Leias
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: left behind.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: I had Princess Leia.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: I did, too.
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: I had a Princess Leia.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I was a well-rounded young lad.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Wait, did I say that? I'm not sure.
- 1:06:00Speaker 16: I haven't thought about that one yet.
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: You know, whenever anyone cosplays as Princess Leia, they always
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: do the slave and the little bikini. I find the
- 1:06:08Speaker 7: Hoth Leia much more attractive. I don't know why.
- 1:06:12Speaker 16: I actually made a costume for a friend of mine,
- 1:06:15Speaker 16: her daughter, as Leia, like from the first New Hope.
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: Did they do... Do the buns?
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: The buns on the hair?
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: Got to do the buns. They look the same, man.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: Or you could have done it at the very end
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: when she's giving out prizes.
- 1:06:28Speaker 6: With her aluminum foil necklace?
- 1:06:31Speaker 16: It's almost the same thing. They just kind of altered
- 1:06:34Speaker 16: it a little bit.
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: Oh, my gosh. Well, that's great. I've never met a
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: Game of Thrones cosplayer here. Game over.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: We're done.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: Game over.
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: I know another one if you want to start a
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: club or something.
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: Oh, you do? Oh, okay.
- 1:06:49Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: We're Facebook friends.
- 1:06:51Speaker 12: Awesome.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: It makes it totally real.
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: Thank you so much for talking to us.
- 1:06:54Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: If you want to take a free stuff, put it
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: in your dragon basket.
- 1:06:59Speaker 10: Free stuff.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Oh, tell us who your dragons are.
- 1:07:02Speaker 16: I don't remember the name in the book, but it's Toothless.
- 1:07:06Speaker 7: Toothless.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Oh, that's right.
- 1:07:09Speaker 7: She's cross-genre-ing. I'm just confusing everybody.
- 1:07:14Speaker 10: Oh, my.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Dragons, we get it. Everybody loves dragons.
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: Hey, thank you very much. Thank you. Let's see. How
- 1:07:27Speaker 7: are we doing on time?
- 1:07:28Speaker 13: We need to do.
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: A commercial.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: Well, did we do the split? We did the split, right?
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: Yes, I did do the split.
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: Oh, you know what this means. Time to get another
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: figure out of the bag.
- 1:07:41Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Yeah, figure.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: I've got to round this thing out. All right, so
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: one more figure out of the bag here, and we'll
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: round this thing out. What are we going with? Ah,
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: see the classics.
- 1:07:51Speaker 6: Hey, Sasquatch.
- 1:07:53Speaker 8: Hey, Chewie.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: Not a Sasquatch. Okay, maybe. Space Sasquatch, at least. Normal
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Sasquatch doesn't get this cool bandolier going.
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: Now, is that really what that thing's called? Like, I
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: know that it's called a bandolier, but I only know
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: it because of Star Wars. Is that what they actually
- 1:08:08Speaker 7: call those things?
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Come on, man. Is it really?
- 1:08:13Speaker 10: Yeah, with the.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: With the pistolas, and they're shooting in the air, and
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: they have the bandolier.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Let's see how bad we can take these actions.
- 1:08:21Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: What's the English equivalent of bandolier?
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Fanny pack.
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: Fanny pack, okay.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Bullet fanny pack.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Well, he's got a purse on his side.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: I need to reload. Oh, wait a minute.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: Zip.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: It's like a worst.
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: It's like a Wookiee purse.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Don't you talk bad about the Wookiee.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: It's a worse, yeah.
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: Now, I know you buried your droid in the sand,
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: which is kind of a euphemism.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: What'd you do with your Wookiees? What'd you do with
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: your Wookiees, Paul?
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Well, you know, I never used Chewie as his character.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: He was always a monster that, you know, attacked the villagers.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:09:04Speaker 10: You're doing.
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: It.
- 1:09:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: You're trying to revoke your Star Wars story. No, no, no.
- 1:09:11Speaker 14: I mean, I enjoyed the movies, but, you know, playtime
- 1:09:14Speaker 14: was playtime. It was about inventing stories, right?
- 1:09:17Speaker 12: So.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it depends. Some kids get hardcore about
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: this stuff.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: That's true.
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: The Yeti attack.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Well, he wouldn't play with them if they died in
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: the movie.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: That is true.
- 1:09:27Speaker 10: I mean, that's a little too hardcore.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: You're very special.
- 1:09:30Speaker 7: I was a weird kid. But that's why my Greedo
- 1:09:35Speaker 7: is in prestigious shape.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: Can't touch him. I'll die like he did.
- 1:09:40Speaker 7: Maybe that's why.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: Or grow really impressive breasts. I feel like I'm playing
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: with a dead corpse.
- 1:09:47Speaker 7: If I do that, it's... Do you need to take
- 1:09:49Speaker 7: this picture?
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:09:52Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:09:53Speaker 7: Well, Movie Meltdown, it's been fun being on for number 20.
- 1:09:56Speaker 10: Movie Meltdown. It's, yeah.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Number one.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Number 20, number one. I'm only counting his. I'm taking
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: points off for both of you guys.
- 1:10:05Speaker 7: Oh, that's awesome. Well, uh.
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: Uh... Uh.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Damn, where is it?
- 1:10:13Speaker 7: There we are.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Touchdown. Damn, Wookie. Or he surrenders.
- 1:10:21Speaker 7: I don't know. Chewie never surrenders. Well, you haven't seen
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: Episode 7. Maybe that's the whole plot. Maybe because Chewie surrenders,
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: that's what brings it out.
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: Maybe I've made a pilgrimage across the country to break
- 1:10:35Speaker 6: into Lucasfilm.
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: How do you feel having the Mark Hamill, the Carrie Fisher,
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: the back end?
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Do we really want to get in here? This is
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: like another hour right here. I'm not surprised.
- 1:10:50Speaker 7: Are you happy?
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Depends on how it turns out. Do I think it's a.
- 1:10:55Speaker 10: Lazy move on their part?
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of.
- 1:10:57Speaker 10: Really?
- 1:10:59Speaker 7: I thought it would be.
- 1:11:00Speaker 6: You have this opportunity to now do whatever you want.
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: To take the universe that you built.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: But that's what he wanted to do.
- 1:11:05Speaker 8: And go off.
- 1:11:06Speaker 13: He who?
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: The guy who quit? Jar Jar Abrams.
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: He didn't create this universe.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: So he's now taking somebody else's universe, and he can
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: do whatever he wants with it, but instead he's just
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: going to beat the horse that is already sitting underneath him.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I think it would have been way cooler for him
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: to just sort of venture off on his own. But
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: do I like those characters? Do I like those actors?
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: I'll be glad to see them back. This is the bridge.
- 1:11:31Speaker 7: This is the Star Trek generation of Star Wars.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Does that mean they're going to crash the Millennium Falcon
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: into a planet? Because I'd watch that.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 1:11:40Speaker 6: I would feel sad, but it'd be pretty awesome.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:11:44Speaker 14: Anything crashing into a planet. The more precious the item,
- 1:11:49Speaker 14: the more interesting it is to watch.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: That's kind of the only reason to watch that.
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: Because that scene goes on for like ten minutes of
- 1:11:54Speaker 6: them just crashing through dirt and trees.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: And Malcolm McDowell going, whoo!
- 1:11:59Speaker 11: I think my favorite is the Enterprise self-destruct in Search
- 1:12:03Speaker 11: for Spock. That is an incredibly painful way to destroy
- 1:12:07Speaker 11: your ship. I mean, all you've got to do is
- 1:12:08Speaker 11: crash the antimatter. No, they have the stations blowing up
- 1:12:10Speaker 11: and the bridge blowing apart and people being blown out
- 1:12:13Speaker 11: of the hatches.
- 1:12:14Speaker 8: Damn, that's a punishing self-destruct.
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: I just like that there's a function. I built that
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: into my home as well. It's just like, house self-destruct,
- 1:12:22Speaker 6: five minutes.
- 1:12:23Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:12:23Speaker 7: You know what it reminds me of? The very last
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: episode of Little House on the Prairie.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: They blowed up the.
- 1:12:29Speaker 8: Whole town, and I'm not kidding.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: You saw it.
- 1:12:33Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Did they do that to.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: The railroad. The fight the railroad.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, to throw off the bad guy.
- 1:12:40Speaker 11: And they figured, well, you bought the land, but you
- 1:12:42Speaker 11: didn't buy the houses, so they blew everything up.
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: They got TNT and blew it up.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Did they take their possessions out of them, I hope?
- 1:12:50Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 1:12:50Speaker 8: They kind of stole the wagons and hid it.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: They got a wagon train.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: They're very, very meager possessions.
- 1:12:55Speaker 10: They done moved on.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. Still doesn't quite rank up there with sledgehammers.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: The season finale of the.
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: First season and the last season, in their mind, of
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: Sledgehammer tops everything because they got word from the network, look,
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: we're going to get canceled.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: He's like, all right, let's wrap this thing up.
- 1:13:16Speaker 6: So some terrorist steals a nuclear bomb and he's there
- 1:13:19Speaker 6: to defuse it and he sets it off and blows
- 1:13:23Speaker 6: up the entire city with a nuclear bomb.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: Here's the kicker. Network changed their mind. They went, you
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: guys are renewed for next year.
- 1:13:32Speaker 7: What are we doing now?
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: And they loopholed their way right out of there. The
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: crawl comes on at the beginning of season two.
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: The episode you saw last time was a look into
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: the future.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Five years into the future.
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: But now we're right back at where we left off.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: So we got five years of episodes to go. Enjoy.
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: Loopholed their way right.
- 1:13:54Speaker 10: Out of there.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Really? That is crafty.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: That is impressive.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I don't think that's a good.
- 1:13:59Speaker 10: That's not a good way.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: You've got to weasel your way out of this, man.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: It's okay. They got canceled after that.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: But I thought that was genius.
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: Genius.
- 1:14:09Speaker 7: It's basically like Poochie was an alien that went back
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: to space.
- 1:14:14Speaker 12: What?
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Where he died. Poochie.
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: Yeah, didn't Poochie go back to his home planet and die?
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: Yeah, basically.
- 1:14:23Speaker 10: Poochie, Poochie, Poochie.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Brian, were you a fan of Fringe?
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: I saw a few episodes.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Did you enjoy them?
- 1:14:32Speaker 12: Yes.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: I like Pacey. That's not the right answer. I like
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Pacey and stand-in Julian Anderson.
- 1:14:41Speaker 7: Oh, is that why you liked it so much?
- 1:14:43Speaker 10: What? No.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I mean, it was definitely going for that vibe, but,
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: I mean, it was.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Very well going for that vibe. Yeah, the empowered woman, sure.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: Well, no, I was talking about the show as a whole.
- 1:14:53Speaker 6: It was very, like, hey, remember they canceled X-Files?
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: We can probably do something like that, right?
- 1:14:57Speaker 14: Well, yeah, it's like they took Fox Mulder out and
- 1:15:00Speaker 14: just made a show with Scully, right?
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: But X-Files was ripped off from a show, so it's like, yeah.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: It's like they ripped, I mean.
- 1:15:07Speaker 14: See, these two guys have not seen it, have not
- 1:15:09Speaker 14: watched it, and I was such a huge fan of
- 1:15:12Speaker 14: that show.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: It ended poorly.
- 1:15:15Speaker 7: It's on my list.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: It ended poorly.
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: So it's basically like Lost and Battlestar Galactica, right?
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: No, no, no, no.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: It's not the.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: A wizard did it, right?
- 1:15:27Speaker 10: It was a wizard.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: A wizard that was dead all the time.
- 1:15:31Speaker 14: No, I think it just didn't have the same oomph
- 1:15:36Speaker 14: that it did in the first three seasons.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: But it just kept... spiraling out of control it kept getting.
- 1:15:45Speaker 14: More and more chaotic and you're like whoa what's going
- 1:15:48Speaker 14: on here and then they reveal all this stuff and
- 1:15:51Speaker 14: you're like how could they reveal any more and they
- 1:15:52Speaker 14: reveal more.
- 1:15:54Speaker 6: You know well a little I saw of it as
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: the extra years went on because I watched a sent
- 1:15:58Speaker 6: him out that first season and then just got i
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: don't know i ended up.
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: Doing something else that night or whatever but like i.
- 1:16:03Speaker 7: Just lost track yeah but.
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: Every time i would kind of tune back in and
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: be like okay this has gotten way crazier like.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: Yeah up the ante that was like me and.
- 1:16:11Speaker 7: How i met your mother that's the exact same scenario
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: i went through i was i.
- 1:16:15Speaker 15: Just kind of got busy on that night what was
- 1:16:18Speaker 15: good about it though were the characters were actually enjoyable
- 1:16:22Speaker 15: like the um Walter, who plays the mad scientist guy, right?
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: I mean, he's doing LSD.
- 1:16:30Speaker 10: He was pretty good.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: He's doing mind control experiments. I mean, it was fun.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: But then, you know, it got confusing with Walter and it.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: As those crazy plot lines.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Those J.J. Abrams twists.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: They do that. It's a twist.
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: How many seasons of it should I watch? When should
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: I stop?
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: When does the doggit show up?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: You know, I don't know.
- 1:17:00Speaker 14: I would watch season one and two and then see
- 1:17:04Speaker 14: how you feel. If you feel like you have to
- 1:17:06Speaker 14: go on from there, do it.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Pursue it. I don't think it's a letdown.
- 1:17:12Speaker 14: I liked where he wrapped it up, but you could
- 1:17:18Speaker 14: tell that just the quality wasn't there in the last
- 1:17:21Speaker 14: season for sure.
- 1:17:23Speaker 10: Anyway.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Have we rounded out this episode?
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: Time to sign off. Wow, yeah.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: I'm going to wrap this one up.
- 1:17:33Speaker 8: Oh, you don't have the guts to go another 15 hours?
- 1:17:36Speaker 6: No, I have the brains to avoid doing that.
- 1:17:40Speaker 8: Hang on, I've got to drop the mic.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: I already went off on your show.
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: You just missed it.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: That's why I recorded it for you. It's okay. Let's
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: play it back now. He's going to mail it to
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: you every day.
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: He's going to mail a piece of my podcast to
- 1:18:00Speaker 7: me every week.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: Here's your microphone. Oh, I found this cable.
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: So sad.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Alright, I've got sense enough to get out of here, so...
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Thanks for listening.
- 1:18:15Speaker 7: Are you going to do your movie Meltdown sign out?
- 1:18:17Speaker 7: Come on.
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: You do it.
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: Do the official. This has been Brian.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: You're doing it so wrong.
- 1:18:26Speaker 7: Thanks for listening to the movie Meltdown. This is TheOddityStudios.com.
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: Sarah McLaughlin crying because podcasts are not being given good homes.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: I'm Brian.
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: And I love the Tower of Technobamble.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: Bing, bing.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Here's what kills me.
- 1:18:47Speaker 6: He actually got my website right.
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: But he can't remember your all's phone number. It's impossible.
- 1:18:54Speaker 10: It's true. Do that math. None of it makes sense.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: You're not on my show, but you got the website
- 1:18:59Speaker 6: that I don't even use right.
- 1:19:01Speaker 7: Look, I've been on 19 times. I'm the equivalent of
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: a Skippy, okay?
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: I'm the, you know, early number one Padawan letter. Get
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: out of my kitchen.
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: He's a cousin Oliver.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: And we all know what happened to Cousin Oliver.
- 1:19:14Speaker 10: Nothing.
- 1:19:15Speaker 8: The show just stopped. He went on living with him
- 1:19:18Speaker 8: in harmony.
- 1:19:19Speaker 12: Nope.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: The dog ate him.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: Tiger.
- 1:19:22Speaker 8: Tiger got a taste for human flesh.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: A little bit of rabies went crazy. Oliver's buried in
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: the backyard now. A little bit of rabies goes along
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: with it. Otherwise, that about does it. We won't return
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: next week. Same geek time, same geek feed.
- 1:19:38Speaker 10: That's it.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Thanks for listening.
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: That's it.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: We love the Tower of Technicolor.
- 1:19:41Speaker 10: Thank you very much.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Thank God I ended that part up.

- 1:20:02Speaker 12: So what are you gonna do when.

- 1:20:37Speaker 12: can ring anybody's bell and get what you want You see,
- 1:20:42Speaker 12: it's easy to ignore trouble.
- 1:20:46Speaker 10: When you're living in a bubble.
- 1:20:48Speaker 12: So what are you gonna do when the world don't
- 1:20:52Speaker 12: open up around you? So what are you gonna do
- 1:21:00Speaker 12: when nobody wants to fool with you?
- 1:21:03Speaker 15: Ain't it funny?
- 1:21:15Speaker 10: Ain't it good being all alone?
- 1:21:17Speaker 12: Ain't it good to be on your own? Ain't it fun?
- 1:21:26Speaker 10: You can't count on no one.
- 1:21:28Speaker 12: Ain't it good to be on your own?
- 1:21:33Speaker 10: Ain't it fun?
- 1:21:35Speaker 12: You can't count on no one.
- 1:21:39Speaker 10: Ain't it fun living in the real world?

- 1:22:03Speaker 12: Don't go crying to your.
- 1:22:06Speaker 10: Mama cause you're on your own in the real world.
- 1:22:14Speaker 12: Crying to your mama Cause you're on your own Ain't

- 1:23:14Speaker 7: Thanks.
