- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: I am your co-host Chris Miles and across from me as always.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Is the co-host Ann of R?
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: Here with Chris Miles.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think you just said that, though, right?
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: You always repeat me in the very beginning.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, because you're worth repeating.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what it is?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Some people are.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: OK. Well, does that make me EF hot now, too?
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't say everybody listens to you.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: OK.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: all right so welcome again to the program got a lot lined up we're going to talk about our favorite crime TV shows a little bit later and then we'll have a full review of you have the social reckoning queued up right okay and I saw animals which was on Netflix
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll talk about that, but first and foremost, as we always do, we like to give you a selection of what's coming out in theaters and then also streaming as well.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's quite a large list.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if we're going to go in depth with a lot of them.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we need to go to in depth with the first one, which I should ask.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Are you queued up and ready to go or do I need to carry the weight of this whole thing by myself?
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: I have one.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, which one?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you when we get there because it's probably the first one I'm going to talk about so it's a street fighter.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: You surprised me.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: So the first one I'm going to talk about a street fighter because you talked about it last week and you're a week early and I'm sure you wanted to make sure that we talked about it.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: So that should be interesting, and then Curtis, we all know Curtis Jackson, who we all know better as Fitty, Fitty sent, he's going to play Bellrog, so that should be interesting, but yeah, so there you go, Cody Rhodes plays Gile, I think Cody Rhodes is a wrestler if I remember correctly, and Roman Reigns is in here as well too, so there's two wrestlers already, Roman Reigns, of course playing Akuma, directed by Kiyato Sakura,
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, do we really need to talk about it?
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a movie all about the game, the fighting game you know the movie.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty much what it's going to be about.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be nothing but them fighting across the world, globe tournament, facing off against each other.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: You know who's not in here, or at least not credited.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have Honda credited, and they also don't car Honda.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: no there there's a there's a character and i think it's like m on or something like that maybe it's behind a i don't remember but there was a character he's like a sumo wrestler in the game um but he doesn't he's not at least in the in the shortlist of credits that i have he's not in there as well all right so on to you because you have one prepared so let's see which one it is
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: You won't mind?
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I don't know if mine comes out this week though.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you're killing me so much.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a preview.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want to make sure people go see this when it comes out.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: But if it's not coming out this week, then I don't, I don't, I thought I didn't get the date.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: Then we're going to hold off because you did this last week and you thought something else was coming out and it wasn't.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was coming out this week.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: So up next is Musk.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, this isn't theaters.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Is that about Elon?
- 3:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's about an un-varnished, deep dive investigative documentary profiling.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it is.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: You're right.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: I forgot.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're right, it's about Elon Musk, and it features interviews with Cara Swisher, Ashley St. Claire, and even if you were, Jeffrey Hinti would be right, it is something from down on the bios of the sea.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, there you go.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's out there in case you want to see it.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: I probably should have read the fact that it was a featured documentary.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: Alex Galoni is our Alex Gibney.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry is the director.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: Up next is whale fall.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: I remember when I saw the preview of this and I was kind of like oh this looks like it's trying to be free willy and all that kind of stuff wrapped up into one.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: I basically it's a scuba diver who embarks on a desperate
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: Dive off the coast of California to recover the mains of a deceased estranged father and during the dive He's unexpectedly swallowed whole by a 80-foot sperm whale do not make any jokes.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: No So it's it's like Jonah all over again But I do want to see that.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we'll see.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so we know we saw we know what you're gonna see You know what I like about it.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's pretty original finally
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: How is it original?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's Jonah.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: All over again.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: But that's only the one remake of Jonah.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's not true.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like a million remakes of so many other things.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's not true.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: There was a veggie child's Jonah.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: Veggie tales.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God, you don't know veggie tales?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is that from my vegans?
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, veggie tales.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: They were like a cartoon.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're all like about they're technically Christian.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, once you get there's there, you should be my reference cartoon.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: the live version of it and then after that you talk about the cartoon as well because we were talking about cartoons as part of the show.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: But in real life, I don't reference the cartoon of Mr. McGoo.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: I reference the Leslie Nielsen character, which is also where he should have got an Oscar tuning in and of itself.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, let's see, Daisy Edgar Jones is in
- 6:02[SPEAKER_02]: Up next crawler's just in time for Halloween because that's kind of what this movie is all about.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's an unexplained death inside an urban apartment building and people discover an outbreak of aggressively lethal highly venomous spiders multiplying at an alarming rate.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_02]: So if you have a rack nephobia, don't go see this on so good movie by the way.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: We're sort of a thriller comedy with Jeff Daniels.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: Do you see that one?
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: No, because I was like, I don't need to see a dumb movie about spiders, but anyway.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't say it was a dumb movie.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm giving my opinion not yours, okay?
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: All right, up next, sacrifice on Netflix, Chris Evans stars in it as well as Anatailer Joey.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I think some are high excellent.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, some high John Malkovich, uh, it's got a pretty decent cast, uh, in here as well.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: She'll be an interesting movie.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's about a high profile, glitzy environmental charity, gala, in Greece.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: where there's like a crazy cult that's led by the lead character and a tailored joys character and then basically the ambush and event and then all the stuff that happens from that, including an active volcano as well.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: This one looks kind of interesting.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: I saw the the preview for the other day when I was watching animals.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: Is it kind of like Joe versus the volcano, but not funny, no, no, no, nice try.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: Up next is the Cycle also on Netflix as well.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: This is about a bunch of people who meet in Mumbai.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: and they devote a shardar devotes entire life to mastering classical Indian music and the decades that passed in his career kind of an interesting take.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: The Volcano movie only has a 37% rating at round tomatoes, just you know.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_02]: The Volcano movie that has even come out yet,
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: That what they premiered at a film festival.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is for people who would like to stream something and not go to the movies.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: So that's the point of this.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_02]: Tensing is on Apple TV.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: This had a limited release a couple of weeks ago.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: Tom Hiddleston is in it as well as William Duffo.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: And another great cast as well.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's the biographical drama that centers on Sherpa Tensing, Norgate.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_02]: who was a New Zealand mountaineer, and it focuses heavily, of course, on his ten days life culture and professional drive.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: And it chronicles the grueling 1953 expedition that he went on with Edmund Hillary.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: And then two from Prime Video, or for Prime Video.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: First one is Master Plan.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: Stanley Tucci is in at Thomas Vincent is a director.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's a basically international high thriller that follows a brilliant retired criminal strategist who is pulled back into the underworld for one more final job.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: You had me at Stanley.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: Love Stanley, 2G.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there you go.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: And then last but not least, also on Prime video forever, my lady.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like that that song, you are my lady.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: It should be playing in the background.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, Jamie Bernadette told me a heart, Darious McCray, and Clifton Powell all star in this tense urban crime thriller rather that is centered on betrayal, power, and justice.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_02]: Quite the picks to take a look at.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, it coming out in February just to give everybody heads up because he hasn't had a movie out in a while as M. Knight has a movie called Remain February, which is it's start it they're saying the preview was like coming Valentine's day and I thought all just to be a nice romantic movie that I could take my wife to but it's really not 12 year old me has been going quite right now It's not it's not that anyway it's M. Knight coming back I like him like
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's hit or miss like he's hit or miss, but and I'm afraid this is going to be one of the miss 50 50 right now for me.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is going to be one of those misses.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: It could be.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: It was a it's Jake Gillin.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Jake Gillin Hall.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: And it
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: The preview starts out like a typical Ramcom kind of thing, but then it just takes a turn, and it's M-Night, so you don't know what it's going to be.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: And by my turn, he asked me to call him M-Night, and that uses whole name when I speak of him, he told me that in a private conversation.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sharing that with you.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: So what is his whole name?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: I am not at the privy to say that because he has asked me specifically to call him M-Nighten.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: And he calls me M afternoon.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: Sounds like a bunch of Bokoka.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: It could be.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, that's out of the way.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: The social reckoning.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: How much was it like the other Mark Zuckerberg news?
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: It was interesting.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: I watch social network again last night, and you're I'm sorry.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Josie Eisenberg was pretty good in it, but that movie just kind of set up how these tech geeks came up with these ideas that we have now like Facebook and all that stuff.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was, I mean, social network kind of set this movie up pretty well, actually.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: If you watch social network, this movie sets it set up by that a little bit.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: The guy that played Zuckerberg played the character really, really well.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: Jeremy Allen plays the reporter, the investigative reporter with the Wall Street Journal really, really well.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: Bill, Bill Burr did a fantastic job, I thought.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: He used a very outspoken, very edgy comic.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: And he brought a little bit of that to this role.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I really, really enjoyed watching him.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little bit slow.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little slow.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: I found myself kind of bored a little bit at times, but it picks up.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't,
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think that this movie, one of the things that did for me was I get the feeling that Mark Zuckerberg is not the Mark Zuckerberg, he portrays in public.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think he has found this character, this very stoic, cold, factual kind of a character, and I think he plays that role, and I think there's a very small circle of people who ever see the real Mark Zuckerberg in my opinion.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: So the movie was great, it's based on a lot of reality, but a lot of actual facts, the Wall Street Journal had been investigative series on Facebook, which then changes name to meta.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: And the whistleblower who came out and pretty much ruined her life in order to tell the truth about what was going on and is going on in terms of algorithms and all the other things at Facebook
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: AI and all this other stuff is doing to people in their lives.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: One of the ending statistics that they're two, that got to me one, was that basically this movie is about whether or not Facebook should fact-check certain things, like political ads.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: and it ended by saying that they just don't fact check anything now at all, which in reality neither does the free press.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Because if they did, every time there was a press conference with politicians, they would fact-check live right there, once the lie comes out.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so neither of them do that.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: What it did say at the end that I'll just also stuck with me.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: One of the stats at the end is that 43% of adults get their news from Facebook.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: But here's my opinion.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: They may see it on Facebook.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I think for more than that number, maybe 80% of American citizens, they don't believe it totally until it's on mainstream media.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of the problems that mainstream media doesn't put out the news that it needs to put out that Facebook sometimes does.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: So, if it's not on ABC, NBC, CBS, 60 minutes, people don't tend to really believe it wholeheartedly.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a really bad situation now.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: They can give a story credibility or they can, the main media can disqualify it.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think the free press in this country is doing that as much as it should.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: So the movie really really rings true There was only me and one other guy in the show and when he left He thought there might be a clip at the end like a marbles movie and I said, I don't think there's anything in the end and he He said he enjoyed it too.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: So that's two of us.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: I gave it an I'll give it an eight Give it an eight Just because it was a little slow mathematical at some points But overall
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: overall you know Aaron Sorkin who did social network.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he did a good job of portraying where we are right now with Facebook not just Facebook with Twitter or all of that.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: The Queenie to as a government the I think our government leaders need to wake up to a lot of this and that part of the message of the movie.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: 8.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, so I'm up next, talking about a movie that features Banathlete.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's called Animals, It's On Netflix.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was like the, it was definitely on the top 10.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was like three, the last time I looked.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's got mixed reviews and I can understand why, because it's kind of the same old same old, just kind of remapped or re, what is it re-skinned as the kids like to call it in the video game world.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: Now, now these days.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what, for like a casual, you know, something to pick up because you're looking for something to watch, crime type show, like maybe while you're doing something else, then I think it's gonna enough, it's gonna be enough.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna offer enough star power to kind of pass the time, you know, but if you look at a sharp direction and uh,
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, tight story telling, you're probably not going to like it now.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: So what's the whole deal with this Ben Afflack is in it along with Carrie Washington who I absolutely love and this she was kind of the reason why I wanted to see it.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a huge Ben Afflack fan.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be just totally honest with you, but you know,
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: There are some of these movies that I do enjoy and there are some of his movies that I'm just kind of like me next But this one it wasn't bad and I didn't go into it expecting anything made out of it Number one because it's Netflix and some of Netflix recent movies have been kind of like hit or miss and this is another one of those It's kind of hit or miss It's not doing very well on rotten tomatoes It's about 30 to 40 percent on the average as far as the critics are concerned
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Um, because they're basically saying, you know, the writing is kind of flat and it's just it's a flat execution.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: So the story here is that Ben Affleck is in a mixed family, so his wife, uh, carry watch and obviously black.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: And he is trying to run for mayor of Los Angeles.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: He is a lawyer who's got a ton of money.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Daddy's got it.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_02]: He's got an inheritance from daddy and that got it stuff.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_02]: But he's running as an independent.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and in the course of his campaign, uh, his son,
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: gets kidnapped or at least we think so.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: And of course the ransom comes and then they hire what I would call like a fixer, played of course by Jillian Anderson, really well by Jillian Anderson as a matter of fact, you know her from ex files fame, probably the the biggest thing that she's been in his ex files.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: But coming in with an English accent, no less.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: So that's kind of interesting.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: Um, the plot, it's kind of predictable, you know, you kind of know where things are going to go, you kind of expect certain things, um, but, you know, all in all, there were some great themes inside of it, you know, talking about how, you know, you still protect those that are within your family, no matter what.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and sometimes you have to do certain things that, uh,
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: May or may not be the right lawful way to do things.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to give too much away, but there is a political spin on this movie at the very end because of course Ben Affleck is, you know, trying to win the mayoral seat.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I give it a seven and a half.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's not really that bad.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why critics are panning it.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, except for the fact that they say it's kind of flat, um, and it doesn't have too many things.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: It does, it does have a problem where it's trying to decide if it wants to be, you know, um, like, let's say, uh, what's the word I'm trying to get?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Whether it wants to be John Wick or if it wants to be, you know, some other movie at the same time.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's got the crisis identification problem, I guess you say, or the identity crisis problem and trying to, you know, say what it's trying to do there, but it is the core.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: What would you do compelling core dilemma that, you know, moral questions that surround that and that kind of stuff when you talk about money and politics and parenting?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know,
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's good for that, but you may be unsatisfied with the ending, or you may be satisfied with the ending, because of the way that it kind of just abruptly ends, so to speak.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: You're left waiting for the, there seems to be some other thing here, and you don't get it.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: And that's going to be my only really negative review on it.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_02]: I thought,
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: After I watched all but the last like four minutes of it, I thought there was going to be a payoff that wasn't there and I was kind of like really so this is all just some random thing.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: And it didn't feel like that.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: I felt like they were going to lead somewhere else and they just didn't do that.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: So outside of that, that's the only negative thing I'm going to say about it.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fun weekend, casual, crime movie that you can watch, you know, while you're doing other things or you know, whatever.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to pay 100% attention to it or anything like that.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, that's my review of animals that's animated, right?
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not animated.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: How does it was animated?
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: Because it has animals, you thought it was animated?
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: Way to do your homework.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: I thought we talked about some movie that you were going to do that was animated.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, the two best friends that jumped through a time war for something.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: I said, if I was going to go to the movies, I would see that, but that was called treasure trucker.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't go see that because this is one of those, and I hate to say this, and I don't mean it.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: Huh?
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's not me.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, because I did say that if I was going to go see a movie, I'd probably go see that.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: But I said, but honestly, I'm going to opt for Netflix animals, because BANF lack is in it.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: But more so, because Kerry Washington was in it, because I absolutely love her.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think she's great.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she is.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she is.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, she is.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, Ben is a little left to decide, but in this movie or in this, yeah, in this movie, I found her portrayal had a whole lot of scandal-esque, like, um,
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: spots in it like the way she was delivering things in the books on our face and stuff like that I was like I've seen her do that in scandal.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and that's kind of why it's kind of like But she still was great in the movie in another self.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: So all right.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: There's that all right So that's a look at the social reckoning and animals.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: So you're going to review you said whale fall No, I didn't say that but I do want to see that one.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so then what are you gonna review?
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: You see why I have to what I have to deal with here folks, ridiculous, okay, sure.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: Don't want you changing your mind again now, because you're really not an else that I would do.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: You talked about Street Fighter last week, I thought you were all like gun-hole about Street Fighter.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not really.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're going to be like, are you okay?
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's no sumo, what's the point?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, well, well, well followed seems to be a more original movie.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how they pull it off.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: So I will be completely honest with you.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_02]: It is homecoming weekend.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: I do not think I'm going to have a chance to see anything.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: Plus I'm starting a new job on Monday.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I finally get to GDD.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I finally get my GDD.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, nice.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: So I really don't think I'm going to have time to go to the movie theater.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_02]: Although I will tell you, I would like to see sense and sensibility.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's old no it's a it's a newer version, but I'm worried that you know it's not going to hit the mark.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just going to leave that alone.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: I am probably going to review.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: Probably the disciple or tensing.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm probably going to go up the tensing route because I'm interested in the whole, you know, you're not going to go see you on must documentary.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: Really?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: You could watch a double feature.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: You could do that one and then Melania right behind it.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's quite alright.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: You do not need to go that way at all.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you're having trouble sleeping, either one of those would probably do the trick.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_02]: That is exactly why I'm not going to even waste five fifty to go.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_02]: Because it probably would put me to sleep.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: So next week we will review whale fall, whale fall, and I will review tensing.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: And let's move on to our favorite crime TV show.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_02]: So what you got from me, big one.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going back.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: It goes Colombo.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: Drag neck.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: Drag neck.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: Perry Mason.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: I still say Colombo.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you know, come on.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Colombo is great.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm not.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: I did already Colombo for something else.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: So rockford files.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's excellent.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: Is that James Carter?
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it was.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to go with my favorite police crime show, Hill Street Blues.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing modern that really hit me.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: They, you know, sopranos are that.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: I never watched one episode of the sopranos, it just didn't get into it.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Then it all.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: We have that on your list.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: Supranos.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: I do not.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've never watched it.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you never watched it.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: I have not seen like three or four episodes here and there.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_02]: When Supranos came out, I didn't have cable.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be telling you honest with you.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: And the other thing was is that there's a girl Jamie Lynn Seagler.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think is her name.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: She played one of the daughters.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: She ended up having like a small brief musical career.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: And the only reason why I watched an episode is because I want to see what kind of actor she was because her songs was kind of like, eh, but because she was in sopranos, I think that's why she was allowed to record something.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: She did have like a fairly decent pop hit for the kids back in the day and we played it at Mitzfus and then it died out fairly quickly.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, that's what that is.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so that's your list.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: That's it, okay.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's my list.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna kick off with a newer one and I'm gonna kick off with one called The Wire.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: And since you didn't talk much about yours, I won't talk much about mine.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: Murder She wrote is going to be another one.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love Angela Lange's very, and I think she does great in this TV show as well.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think you should check it out if you haven't already.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: Twin Peaks is another one that I'm going to pull from the wreckage shall we speak.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: So shall we say Moonlighting also a great crime show.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: More of a comedy and that kind of stuff.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was a...
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Moonlighting to me was more up to you while you were talking we're not just want to make a point because you won't say it It was more of a good idea if you're talking comedy crime a just or said that it was almost like a rom com I was just about to say the rest of that And then you interrupt point go right ahead and as usual
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is a rom-com only because of the weird romantic spark that was going on between the two of them, which I think civil shepherd at the time was like 40, and Bruce was like in his 20s, so there's like a whole cougar cougar thing going on there.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so yeah, moonlighting, since you interrupted me, and then I have to say, and my PD blew, and I know you don't like that.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: Magnum P.I.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm surprised you didn't bring the up at all since you were going down the the old Totem Polka It was just a pretty boy that the host show was based around Tom Celic and his looks and that was pretty much it It was fluff, but you got to love his car.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it was in setting Hawaii So yeah, great.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then I would go to Hawaii five oh before I would that whatever
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know CSI the original any this CSI is the one I'm going after there Don't like him.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_02]: Um law and order only because I get to say this the most you know have you ever heard the most annoying sound on TV It's the law and order thing that Yeah, there we go.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I did it Veronica Mars monk
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: And then last month was okay.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: Monk was good.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to get my list too.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: Too late.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: You said you're like, you can't not like, no, no, you said you list.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: You can't go back.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, whatever I want.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: So just America still.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: For the other 30 days as we talk about that and Elon Musk almost in the same breath.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: I said we're going on that.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_02]: And then last but not least, only because who doesn't like Idris, Idris Elba, or Idris Elba, I mean Idris, I did say right the first time, Idris Elba, I'm going with Luther, what a great TV show, wish it was still on, but I understand why, but when I completely loved as well too, so that is my list, which by the way, if you want to watch Luther, it's on Hulu, so you can catch all what, like, eight seasons, I think, yeah.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: And you put NYPD blue, I put Hill Street Blues.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think Hill Street Blues was just so much better.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: And we had this discussion last time we talked about it.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: I know, but it just, but they're not even completely in the same genre.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they are.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they're not.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: What they took Hill Street Blues and tried to make it more modern with shaky cam and all this other crap.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: And see three POs, somebody from somebody who's got somebody who came up with freaking cheese to go with his wife.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, but You ever write to your wrong opinion as do you have a right to your wrong opinion about history blues being better than you are not as a kid.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: I was forced to watch it.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, as a kid I was forced to watch it.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: It was Thursday night TV.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: I remember correctly, right?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's correct.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: So I had to watch it after freaking cheers
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: It is correct.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I know.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: It was on it nine o'clock.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: That is correct.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I didn't have to go to bed till 10.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I watched whole street blues.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying it was a bad TV show.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: It was a good TV show.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: But weather, no, no, no.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_02]: And my PD blue came out and my PD blue was farly superior.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: And that is my opinion.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_02]: You do not have to agree with me and you can sit there and play on your phone as well.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: And that's going to do it for the episode folks is I don't think he's going to say anything.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, I'm not.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sticking to my guns.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: That hill street blues is better than he wants to cheese.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: He wants some cheese.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's up to so 55 up next week.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk of course about it'll be episode 56 for those seconds and we'll talk about what of course about the movies that are coming out that week and TV shows anything cool.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: We'll come back with a review of whalefall and tensing.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, and then we're going to talk about our guilty pleasures of TV.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: This is stuff you may not necessarily want to admit to people that you watched.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: but you every time like this particular show whatever comes back on you have to watch it just because you're like what is going to be like last season guilty pleasures guilty pleasures.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: You can also probably call it like more like reality TV too.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I don't want to reality.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Well, then if you don't have it not be a guilty pleasure.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_02]: Then if you don't have a reality TV guilty pleasure then you can figure out what other guilty pleasures you have.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: Tell you vision show one.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: Please keep it no worse than rated R.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's no, I rated there's TV M A that's a but no, I rated no, there's I rated.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: And you want, if you want, I rated TV shows go to telemundo.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: I have been in the soap operas.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: They don't understand a damn word, but they love the soap operas They will sit there and watch them.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure they get rather reschedule.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure they do.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: If you want that, that's where you go That's where you go.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's where you go.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: That reminds me of that comedian.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: I can't think of his name though He's the guy that does the TV He does the movie line voice with a Pablo Francesco.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he did a whole sketch about the whole Yep, murmur.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's funny
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: Why did I get a bit in my comedy show about watching Telemundo watching it for the commercials because there's There's certain things that there's no Spanish word for So if you're watching Telemundo on a commercial comes on it could sound something like Cdutin And as I said, I'm going to go for a commercial Baja Burger King
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: E compre un wiper, con frais.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I used to love to watch.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many words, Pepto Bismal.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: There's, I can name a thousand.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, there's a ton of words, and it just cracked me out.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: Other languages that are English that have to be pronounced in English, because there's no way to pronounce them.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's like me when I was in fifth grade.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: I had my first Greek friend.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I was over at his house, his grandmother would always make us white, bread sandwiches with cream cheese on them.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like fill it up with cream cheese.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: So it was a cream cheese sandwich.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: It was before bangle, basically.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: And or maybe it's because they were too Jewish and they didn't want actual bangle.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, I did not say that out loud.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, so anyway, we were having those and grandma and his mom are talking and they're going back and forth and Greek, you can't understand a word.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: And then all of a sudden mom goes mailbox and I go,
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: there's no Greek word for mailbox but there's a Greek word for almost every other thing and they in the English language he goes yet because for some reason we don't because he's like because they don't have mailbox is in Greece right so I was like the word is a Greek right every other right every other word has a Greek or that that big fact Greek what and you'll learn exactly so yeah that's not I thought that was funny there is no Greek word for mailbox anyway so that's it
- 34:10[SPEAKER_02]: Alright folks, that's the show.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again so much for listening, like and subscribing, sharing, and all the things that you do.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you to our new listeners as well.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: We know that we have a couple of friends, brand new peoples.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: As well.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Keep spreading the word over there in Europe.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: Because if Europe, we're up.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_02]: And now you just lost all of our French listeners.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: They love you.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Terrible.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: They love me in France.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, they don't.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: They do, look at the demand.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they exactly, while they're singing, while they're smoking, they're singing.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: Ireland, oh, we found the leprechaun.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this way is your path to go, Puerto Rican leprechaun?
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: That would be a port, all recon.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: This is, you know.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Puerto, oh, we got one.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: And what do they call the furniture that sits outside?
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, weaker?
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: They call it patio furniture.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, furniture.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, furniture.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: You did it, I had to.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that's a show folks.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks again for listening.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: And until next time, save us some popcorn.
